By Own Correspondent| It is rare to find a lion’s faeces, and this is because they are very clean animals who dig and cover up their toilet-waste like other cats do. They are perhaps more hygienic than human beings and this was somewhat proven on Monday, sadly in a bloody attack – lions have better common sense than people.

The below video has sent tongues wagging after a British owner of a Safari Park, opened the gate into a fenced lion protectorate just so he could view a lion’s faeces.

The park owner was savagely mauled by the lion in front of screaming onlookers after he entered the animal’s enclosure.

Mike Hodge, a 67-year-old British expat, was later rushed to hospital with injuries to the neck and jaw following the shocking incident caught on film in South Africa.

The attack happened at the man’s Marakele Predator Park in South Africa, and the video revealed by ZimEye.con shows Mr Hodge entering the lion’s enclosure.

The man is seen pacing into the closed fence having arranged to catch the precious moment of seeing the faeces, the lion having been distracted by a worker at the park. The worker, a black man, temporarily distracts the lion using a bucket of meat so that the lion forget its poo and hopefully rushes to eat the meal.

When the man paces in, the lion is not at all bothered, and nothing happens until the moment the man tampers with the poo using his shoes. It is at that point, that the lion gets agitated as if saying, “why on earth are you touching my poo dude?”  Instantly, as ZimEye narrates, the lion begins running towards the “toilet invader.” He speeds after the man, and attacks him at the fence area.

In no time at all, the man’s neck is inside the lion’s jaws as he is pulled away.

Colleagues then begin screaming for help, but no one has a gun to shoot the animal. The horror continues.
