Fuel Situation Worsens Despite Price Increase

Jane Mlambo| Despite fuel price increases announced by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Saturday, the precious commodity is still scarce with most service stations dry while the few ones stocked have long and winding queues.

Zimbabwe witnessed one of its worst protests post the Robert Mugabe era. The protests, instigated by Fuel price increases saw more than 600 people being arrested while hundreds were injured in the process.

The only fuel company selling fuel is Trek while three giant companies Total, Puma and Zuva are all closed.

This puts to rest claims that increasing pump price would see an improve the fuel situation in the country.
