Biti Seeks Violence Incitement Charges Dropped

The MDC Alliance principal who is now the party’s deputy National Chairman, Tendai Biti has applied to get charges of inciting the military violence on August 1 last year dropped.
Biti had applied for discharge through his lawyer at the close of the State case and after hearing submissions from both parties, Ms Takundwa concurred with the State and dismissed Biti’s application.
His lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa, said she would file her written submissions before Friday, while the State will submit its own by Wednesday. Ms Takundwa will deliver a ruling based on the written submissions on February 18.
