By Jane Mlambo| The United States foreign affairs committee has tweeted that it is closely following developments in the matter in which MDC Alliance Deputy President Tendai Biti is facing charges of assault.

Biti was arrested and detained at Rhodesville police station before appearing at the Harare Magistrates court yesterday.

He was freed on ZWL$10 000 bail.
