Chido Mbewu/ Local media reports that Defence minister Oppah Muchinguri is reportedly battling Covid-19.

While no further details are given on Muchinguri’s condition and whereabouts, it is also reported that, Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Ellen Gwaradzimba and Former Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Commissioner-General Retired Major-General Paradzai Zimondi are both battling the deadly virus.

Gwaradzimba is reported to have been airlifted to Harare.

Meanwhile, latest statistics released by the ministry of health on new Covid-19 infections, indicate a disturbing spiral of new cases at 1 365 and 34 deaths in the past 24 hours.
