A devastating bus accident on the Harare-Bulawayo Highway has claimed the life of Headman Muchibwa-Nyajena, Maduveko Manyise (45), leaving Masvingo Province in mourning.
Manyise, who was installed as headman in March, was among seven passengers who died instantly when an InterAfrica bus collided with a stationary truck near Dabuka on Sunday.
*A Life of Service and Faith*
Manyise’s brother, Dr. Maseko Manyise, remembered him as an exceptional communicator, problem-solver and sociable individual who impacted lives through sound advice and inspiration. A devoted member of the Mutendi-Zion Christian Church (ZCC), Manyise was also a minister in the church.
*A Distinguished Career*
Manyise, a radiographer by profession, worked at Fort Street Medical and Dental Surgery in Bulawayo. His educational journey began at Chiwawa Primary School and continued at Nyajena Primary School and Nyabata High School. He joined the Army in 1998, serving in the DRC war from 1999-2000, where he trained as a radiographer. Manyise later obtained a Theology Degree from the National University of Science and Technology in 2022.
*A Legacy of Love and Service*
Manyise is survived by his wife, Rejoice Chihanga, and two children, a 20-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son. He was laid to rest in Mavhungwe, under Chief Nyajena, on Thursday.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) strongly condemned reports of widespread looting at the accident scene, reminding the public that stealing from damaged vehicles is a serious crime. The police urge communities to cooperate with authorities in assisting victims and facilitating investigations.
