Gift Banda has taken his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, challenging the ZIFA Normalisation Committee’s decision to exclude him from the upcoming association elections scheduled for later this month.

Banda, who previously served as the acting president of ZIFA, was notably absent from the list of candidates deemed eligible, which was published by ZIFA on December 23.

There are growing concerns about the potential for political maneuvering and influence, particularly with fears of Zanu PF’s involvement in the election process, which could undermine the integrity of the polls.
