Seventeen people were arrested on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, for taking photographs with their smartphones at the scene of a road traffic accident in central Harare.

The individuals, who were caught capturing images of the wreckage, were apprehended by law enforcement officers responding to the crash.

While the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, it follows a broader crackdown on such activities.

In 2024, the ZRP warned the public against taking photos at accident scenes, citing concerns over privacy, safety, and the potential for hindering emergency response efforts.

This latest action serves as a reminder of the continued enforcement of those regulations.
