ZimEye.com has received death threats from cult leader Uebert Angel’s church. These came as the preacher himself (recorded on video) also vocalised his intention to commit violence against reporters in the face of the investigations on his sex scandal the boulder of evidence which is piling hard against him.
Written threats were also sent to hack the ZimEye.com website. There were server outages syncing with those threats and a police investigation at the highest levels is underway.
Journalists shall continue to serve the public in their duty without fear or favour.
We wish to communicate that there is an obligation on those in positions of influence to ensure that reporters, photographers and editors are able to operate without risk or threat from any quarter and such threats have no place in a democratic society and should be condemned by all public representatives.
