Police Attack Civil Servants

Police in Harare have brutalised the leaders of the Rural Progressive Teachers Union Zimbabwe (PTUZ) and former Zimbabwe National Students Union-Zinasu Pride Mukono for organising a demo’ against government’s failure to give civil servants their salaries.
Mkono and company were on Tuesday raided at Kuwadzana 2 shopping centre by armed police officers who mercilessly beat them up before arresting them.
The activists were working on a strategic planning meeting on January 4, 2016 in Harare where they wanted to stage a demo.
The crew on Wednesday appeared before a Mbare Magistrate court who remanded them out of custody.
