Joan Mamombe who if elected in party primaries is to stand on an MDC Alliance ticket in the forthcoming elections narrates her ordeal at the hands of the former President Robert Mugabe regime; when she was expelled from university and only saved later under a scholarship programme the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai accessed for her and others. Joan relives her ordeal to party structures in Harare West.

The 25 year old scientist and human rights activist Mamombe holds a Bsc in Biotechnology from the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) and an Msc in Genetic Manipulation and molecular cell biology from the University of Sussex UK. Her research focused on cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
