By Farai D Hove| The Zimbabwe Republic Police has banned all its officers from retiring until they reach pensionable age.

This was passed last Friday and is effected with immediate effect.

The below note says this has been caused by a staffing problem which has seen the government failing to cope with numerous retirement requests. 

The ZRP also said that all officers who have retired should be monitored as some of them have been involved in organising demonstrations against the government. FULL TEXT BELOW
