By A Correspondent- MDC Provincial Youth Chairperson and Bulawayo Deputy Mayor councilor Tinashe Kambarami was allegedly abducted on Saturday night outside his residence and tortured by unknown assailants.

A source privy to the developments revealed that Kambarami’s dreadlocks were shaved off using glass by the gang.

He is reportedly receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the abduction and torture.

His abduction comes at a time when there has been increased cases of abduction and torture of opposition leaders, their members and human rights defenders by suspected state security agents.

Kambarami’s abduction and torture however occurred a few days before the highly anticipated Free Zimbabwe march slated for Bulawayo today, which has however not taken place following a prohibition order filed by the ZRP.

The MDC has however challenged the prohibition order with the presiding magistrate revealing that he will issue a ruling at 4pm today (Monday).
