Own Correspondent | In a new twist to the unfolding events in the G40 grouping, exiled Professor Jonathan Moyo, has totally broken ranks with close ally former First Lady Grace Mugabe, portraying her as his tormentor.

Moyo narrates how he had a difficult time under the Mugabe’s including the late former President, and how he was rescued by General Constantino Chiwenga. An interesting development because Moyo a close ally of Grace’s during the protracted fighting between the Lacoste and the G40 faction, had brazenly declared, in 2015 that, ‘Kusina Mai hakuyendwe.’

No she didn’t. She was with those who called me the devil incarnate. I was accused of smuggling the MDC into @Zimpapers. I was rescued by General Chiwenga. If I’m not mistaken I mentioned this in my conversation with @Wamagaisa for a special edition of @BigSaturdayRead last year!”, responded Moyo to a question from a Twitter regarding his relationship with the Mugabe’s.

The user a Clemence Manjengwah had asked, “Yah I remember when Mugabe called you the devil incarnate and Joice Mujuru accusing you of being a CIA agent. Thank heavens Dr Amai came to your rescue.

The fallout between Moyo and Grace can be traced back to 2018, after she praised ZANU PF leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa, for coming to her rescue, after he hired a jet for her from Singapore to come back home to bury her mother.

“It is an absurd corruption of public morality, values and ethos for Mrs Mugabe to claim that Mnangagwa’s gesture to hire a fancy private plane to fly her from Singapore and to pay for her mother’s funeral constitutes a political paradigm for the country to move on,” Moyo charged, at the time.

Moyo yesterday publicly trashed his ZANU PF membership card with Mugabe’s face on it.
