By Jane Mlambo| Harare Mayor Herbert Gomba is set to meet the Makamba family to listen to their grievances and address issues that need clarification as he commits to deal with the controversies surrounding the death of their son Zororo on Monday morning.
The Makamba family came out guns blazing against Wilkins hospital, minister of health and child care as well as the first family whom they accused of sleeping on duty resulting in the death of their son.
Gomba has taken to social media on countless times trying to clarify issues following wide condemnation of the city run medical facility.
Today the municipality announced that Gomba will meet with the Makamba family as part of investigations into circumstances surrounding the death of Zororo.
“His Worship Harare Mayor Councillor Herbert Gomba has undertaken to meet the Makamba family to hear them out and address any pertinent issues arising from the events,” City of Harare said in a statement.
“Council takes this opportunity to advise stakeholders that despite Wilkins Hospital being a council facility, during times of crisis and strife like this one – our institution comes under the direct management of government.”
