By Business Reporter| Several questions have been raised on Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube allocating resources towards fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.
Below is a short narration MDC MP Thabitha Khumalo on the matter:
Why is it that in Bulawayo there is nothing? – “from his presentation they’ve been tasked with this role of the CoronaVirus, where a number of ministers have been posted to all the provinces and apparently they’ve been at work for just a week… They kept on telling us that they are looking for humanitarian aid.
“They have applied to the UNs, the WHOs, the World Bank, and we then asked them that yes, we hear you that you are applying for money humanitarian aid. What about our own domestic resources how much have you had allocated? And he informed us that he does not know but it keeps on accumulating every time. So as we speak we have no idea, how much the Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube allocated to Zimbabwe government to deal with Coronavirus. But by the sound of things, it looks like they just don’t care about the ordinary people. As far as they are concerned they are safe because the Kereke Hospital has been renovated, and it has been furnished, obviously and then St Anne’s has been furnished, so the ordinary Povo doesn’t matter. So for now we have no clue how much they have. He did not even mention that they have got any funding, humanitarian aid, that was not mentioned. That is news to us.”…So as we speak we have no idea, how much the Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube @MthuliNcube allocated to Zimbabwe government to deal with Coronavirus.
