Macheso’s manager Tich Makahamadze said that his client has no intention of joining politics at any point in the future Makahamadze said that reports about Macheso joining politics are better of being released on April Fools day because they are so ridiculous.

The manager also told The Herald that Macheso has been spending a lot of tie at his farm in Chivhu due to the downturn caused by the restrictions from the Covid-19 lockdown. This resulted in some people claiming that Macheo Macheso was mobilising support on the ground and was spending time with villagers.

‌In unrelated news, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has dismissed the reported break-in at the office of Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) chairperson Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo as a false alarm.

The police said that according to investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), no break-in occured at the offices. According to the police, an old curtain rail moved on its own due to wear and tear, and in the process moved a ceiling panel, giving the appearance that the office had been broken into.

The police went on to say that thorough investigations by crime scene investigators from the CID had established that there was no break-in and that nothing had been tampered with or stolen.
