Police in Manicaland Province have launched investigations into the murder of two minors in Sambaza Village, Chief Mutasa in Nyanga.
The bodies had deep cuts on the necks and shocked villagers had alleged that the minors’ heads were missing.
It however emerged, after the police arrived at the scene where the bodies were found that the two minors had all their body parts.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the bodies of the two minors were found in a disused toilet pit with deep cuts on their necks.
They had been missing since Tuesday when they left home for school and villagers began searching for them when they did not return home.
Said Asst Insp Nyathi:
The ZRP is investigating two cases of murder that occurred at Sambaza Village, Chief Mutasa Nyanga on 14/04/21 where two minors were found dead in a disused toilet pit.
The victims left home for school on 13/04/21 and never returned prompting a search.
Meanwhile, the bodies were retrieved from the pit and deep cuts were observed on their necks.
All other body parts were intact but with blood-stained uniforms.”
The bodies were ferried to Nyanga Hospital awaiting post mortem.
