Another Wicknell Type Solar Govt Tender

New Tender Scheme Unveiled Amidst Wicknell Chivayo Scandal.

By A Correspondent | In a move that has raised eyebrows across the nation, another Presidential scheme has been introduced by the government, this time focused on providing solar energy. The announcement comes at a precarious moment as the country is still reeling from the Wicknell Chivayo multiple tenders scandal, notably the infamous Gwanda solar project that squandered USD 5 million of ZESA funds without tangible results.

The state-owned Herald reports that the new scheme has already commenced, with installations at 400 houses underway in Harare. Solar panels are being mounted on rooftops with the intention of generating power to be sold to ZESA, subsequently feeding into the national grid.

The initiative, led by the Zimbabwe Solar Energy Company (ZISEC) – a subsidiary of Prevail Group International (PGI), is being piloted in Ward 30, Glen View suburb. Homeowners participating in the project will receive a token of appreciation for hosting the solar panels.

Dr. Paul Tungwarara, PGI chairman, confirmed the rollout of the programme. “The Presidential Solar Scheme has kicked off. This project is going to be done under ZISEC which is going to be involved together with Prevail Group. We are generating solar from the rooftops and putting the electricity into the grid to eradicate load-shedding in the specific areas where we are installing the solar system,” he stated.

The pilot phase targets 400 houses, with an emphasis on training locals to install the solar systems, thus fostering employment creation. Dr. Tungwarara highlighted that landlords will be compensated for contributing electricity to the national grid.

However, the timing and execution of this scheme have drawn scrutiny, given the backdrop of Chivayo’s Gwanda solar scam. The Chivayo scandal involved the disbursement of USD 5 million by ZESA for a solar project that never materialized, leaving the nation questioning the efficacy and transparency of similar government schemes.

Critics argue that the new solar initiative could potentially follow the same path if not meticulously monitored and managed. The contractual arrangements that allow ZISEC to recoup its investment and make a profit raise concerns about the prioritization of corporate interests over public benefit.

As the government embarks on this new venture, the shadow of the Chivayo scandal looms large, demanding a higher standard of accountability and transparency. The success of this Presidential Solar Scheme hinges not only on its technical and economic feasibility but also on the government’s ability to restore public trust in its tender processes.

The nation watches closely, hoping that this initiative does not become another chapter in the saga of failed government projects but instead a beacon of sustainable energy and economic progress.

SADC must kick Out Zimbabwe for Killing And Oppressing Matabeles

It is quite disturbing that members of the SADC region are quick to condemn Israel for the war against Palestine while they wine and dine with the black apartheid government of Zimbabwe, which has committed genocide against the Matabele people. Over 40,000 innocent Matabele civilians, including women and children, were slaughtered.

What is more disgusting is that Zimbabwe, the perpetrator of the Matabele genocide and tribal oppression of more than 5 million Matabele people, is vocal in supporting a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine while denying the Matabele the same right to self-determination.

In 2015, Matabeleland Liberation Organisation (MLO) President, Cde Paul Siwela, on behalf of MLO, delivered a Notice of Demand for the Restoration of Matabeleland State, which aims to join the family of nations as The Republic of Matabeleland (RoM).

Copies of the Notice of Demand were distributed to all SADC countries and other African states, as we have nothing to hide and our cause is just.

The then Zimbabwean President, the late Robert Mugabe, pretended to be unaware of the notice until he was overthrown in a military coup by Emmerson Mnangagwa and died in exile in 2017.

Mr. Mnangagwa continues to ignore the cause of Matabeleland restoration, addressing it only to issue death threats to Matabele people who are fearlessly and unapologetically demanding the restoration of Matabeleland state.

Currently, the Zimbabwean government is conducting an illegal process named “Gukurahundi Hearings,” in which the perpetrator acts as judge and jury in their own case of genocide. The aim is to minimize the scale of the genocide, eliminate evidence, cleanse themselves of Matabele blood, and present a false narrative of the situation.

The MLO and the people of Matabeleland are saddened and pained by the perpetrator’s lack of remorse and heartlessness. We consider this a disrespect to both the deceased and living Matabele genocide victims and an act of provocation that must not go unpunished.

Our brothers and sisters in the SADC region, Africa, and the world are turning a blind eye to the diabolical events and injustices occurring in Zimbabwe against the Matabele people.

It seems some tribes and governments in the SADC region and Africa have the license to murder and oppress others, while some are doomed to be continuously slaughtered and oppressed.

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have taken the side of the oppressor,” Archbishop Desmond Tutu once said. It is clear that our African brothers from the SADC region and beyond are taking the side of the perpetrator in Zimbabwe.

We call upon all peace-loving, good people and organizations worldwide to support a two-state solution in Zimbabwe that will permanently resolve the Matabele genocide, tribal oppression, Matabele-Shona tribal animosity, and political abuse of the people of Matabeleland in Zimbabwe.

Our demands to the government of Zimbabwe are as follows:

i) Restoration of Matabeleland state as of 3 November 1893
ii) Payment of US$100 billion in reparations for the Matabele genocide
iii) Unconditional withdrawal of trumped-up treason charges and warrant of arrest against MLO President Cde Paul Siwela

Zimbabwean Runs Out Of Luck Over South African Murder Case

Harare, Zimbabwe — A Zimbabwean national accused of killing a love rival in South Africa is now facing extradition to stand trial in that country. Tinashe Hove fatally stabbed Theophilus Musekiwa during a fight over a girlfriend, Lequina Chikato, in Durban, South Africa. After fleeing to Zimbabwe, Hove was arrested following a week on the run.

The Prosecutor-General of Zimbabwe has submitted a motion at the Harare Magistrates Court, following approval by the Zimbabwean Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, requesting Hove’s extradition to South Africa under the Extradition Act.

Principal public prosecutor Ms. Farai Zachariah stated that Hove’s extradition complies with the Extradition Act and does not conflict with Zimbabwe’s international and regional treaty obligations. She emphasized that there is overwhelming evidence linking Hove to the crime, including testimony from an eyewitness, David Chikore, who saw Hove arguing with Musekiwa before the fatal stabbing.

In supporting the extradition request, the court referenced the landmark case of State v. Nkomo (1993), where the Supreme Court of Zimbabwe upheld the principles of extradition, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in criminal matters. The court ruled that extradition should be granted when there is a prima facie case and the requesting country provides sufficient evidence of the alleged crime.

Hove’s luck has run out as he now faces extradition to South Africa to stand trial for his alleged crime. The legal proceedings underscore the seriousness with which both Zimbabwe and South Africa address cross-border criminal activities and their commitment to upholding justice.

Another “Stomach” Politician Joins ED Party

By A Correspondent

Former Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) legislator Takalani Matibe has defected to the ruling Zanu PF party.

To formalize his transition, Matibe recently graduated from the Chitepo School of Ideology at the Dadaya National Youth Training Centre in the Midlands, where he underwent Marxist indoctrination among other teachings.

Previously affiliated with the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), Matibe served as the MP for Chegutu West from 2008 to 2013. In 2023, he ran as an independent candidate for the same seat but was unsuccessful.

Matibe cited his decision to join Zanu PF as a recognition of the party’s strength and ongoing infrastructure development under President Emmerson Mnangagwa. He stated, “Zanu PF is unconquerable, and no amount of opposition activism can dislodge it.

The opposition is effectively non-existent in Zimbabwe.”

He expressed that instead of opposing the ruling party, he believes in contributing to its developmental agenda, highlighting improvements in infrastructure that he argues were lacking during former President Robert Mugabe’s administration.

Matibe criticized former CCC leader Nelson Chamisa, accusing him of selfishness and misguiding opposition activists for personal gain.

“Chamisa sidelined many of us. I want to be relevant and play a part in building my country, which is why I joined the ruling party focused on development and inclusivity.”

Mnangagwa Ignores Police Officers’ Plight

By A Correspondent

In a sudden and controversial move, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has sparked outrage among junior police officers by cutting their transport allowances without prior notice.

This decision has not only left the officers disillusioned but has also strained morale within the law enforcement ranks.

According to a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the junior officers were taken aback when they discovered the abrupt axing of their allowances.

Commenting on the fiasco, Citizens spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba said :

“Outrageous! Junior police officers are reportedly unhappy after the regime abruptly axed their transport allowances without warning. “

The move, seen as a cost-cutting measure by the government, has had a significant impact on the daily lives of these officers, many of whom rely on these allowances to commute to work.

To exacerbate the situation, authorities allegedly suggested that officers purchase bicycles as an alternative means of transportation, a proposal that has been met with further frustration and indignation among the affected personnel.

“To add insult to injury, authorities allegedly told them to purchase bicycles when they voiced their concerns,” a political observer said.

This directive has been perceived as impractical and insensitive, considering the economic challenges faced by many junior officers.

The discontent among the police ranks underscores broader issues of economic hardship and deteriorating living conditions in Zimbabwe.

Many junior officers already struggle to make ends meet on their current salaries, which are often insufficient to cover basic necessities.

The removal of transport allowances exacerbates these challenges, making it increasingly difficult for officers to fulfill their duties effectively.

Billiat Brilliance Continues

Former Warriors star Khama Billiat scored his 8th goal of the season and inspired Yadah to a 2-0 victory over Bikita Minerals in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at The Heart Stadium today.

The Aces Youth Academy graduate, who joined the Miracle Boys after partying ways with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, has found his rhythm again and is clearly enjoying his game in the local premiership.

Billiat found the back of the net in the 72nd minute, when he fired home from close range after being released by Ryan Ncube.

Blessed Ndereki put the final nail on the Bikita coffin and when he scored Yadah’s second in the 89th minute.

Billiat is now the joint top goal scorer with CAPS United’s William Manondo.

Joe Biden Resigns

USA- President Joe Biden has stepped down from the 2024 Presidential election as the Democratic candidate.

This comes after intense pressure from his party following his poor debate performance with the Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump early this Month.

Posting on his X account this evening, Biden thanked Americans for supporting him.

Mutsvangwa Enters Presidential Race, Blocks Chiwenga

By Political Reporter- Zanu-PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa is reportedly blocking Vice President Constantino Chiwenga from taking over power from President Emmerson Mnangagwa, advocating instead for Mnangagwa’s successor to be elected.

Former Norton MP Temba Mliswa is on record saying that Mutsvangwa harbours presidential aspirations, and this is confirmed by  Mutsvangwa’s consistent criticism of Chiwenga.

This internal conflict traces back to the 2017 coup led by Chiwenga, which ousted former President Robert Mugabe and installed Mnangagwa as the leader.

The junta’s original plan promised Mnangagwa would serve two terms before handing power to Chiwenga without an election.

However, Mnangagwa’s supporters, including Mutsvangwa, appear to be reneging on this agreement.

Mutsvangwa, a staunch Mnangagwa ally, has openly stated that Chiwenga should face an election to become Mnangagwa’s successor.

In a recent interview with The Standard, he asserted, “There is no godly anointment in ZANU-PF. ZANU-PF is not a church where people can be anointed. The president is not the Pope of the Catholic Church or the Archbishop of Canterbury, who anoints priests.”

He emphasized that all political aspirants must abide by democratic principles, saying, “Everyone who goes into politics, and has an ambition to be a leader, must play by the rules, especially of a revolutionary democratic party. That’s why the president was very clear, saying, ‘I will not usurp the decision-making powers of the people of Zimbabwe or the membership of ZANU-PF – I will retire.’”

Mutsvangwa further compared the ruling party’s processes to religious organizations, arguing that ZANU-PF operates democratically, unlike churches where leaders can unilaterally appoint successors. “ZANU-PF is not Makandiwa’s church where he can have himself, his wife, his kids, and his followers say this is my church. President Mnangagwa is an elected leader of a revolutionary democratic party,” he concluded.

This power struggle within Zanu-PF raises questions about the future leadership of Zimbabwe and the party’scommitment to democratic processes amidst internal rivalries.

Letter to the Editor:

The Ginimbi Death Tree Has Claimed Another Life

Dear Editor,

It is with a heavy heart that I share a chilling tale that echoes a tragedy we all remember too well. The same fateful tree that claimed the life of the beloved and wealthy socialite, Genius Kadungure, known to many as Ginimbi, has struck once again. This time, it has taken the life of another affluent individual, a woman whose vibrant life was cut tragically short under eerily similar circumstances.

On that same cursed road, at the same haunting hour, and against the same unforgiving tree, another soul was lost. She was returning from a night out at a club, just as Ginimbi had been, when her journey back home was brutally interrupted. The car, the crash, the devastation—everything mirrored the past, as if fate itself had orchestrated this cruel reenactment.

This young woman, whose identity and vibrancy echoed in the circles of the elite, met her untimely demise on the very spot where Ginimbi had fallen. The parallels are almost too surreal to believe, yet they starkly remind us of the fragile line between life and death, and the haunting grip of destiny.

In the aftermath of this latest tragedy, our community is left grappling with grief and a sense of foreboding. How many more lives will this tree claim before measures are taken to prevent further loss? It stands as a silent witness to these horrific events, a sentinel of sorrow on our roads.

Let this letter serve as a somber call to action. We must address the safety of our roads and take steps to ensure that such a devastating event does not repeat itself. Lives are precious, and we cannot afford to lose more in such a harrowing manner.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Subscriber

USD3Million Vanishes As Welshman’s Implicated in Major Financial Scandal

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – Prominent lawyer, academic, and CCC factionist, Professor Welshman Ncube, has been thrust into the spotlight amid allegations of serious financial misconduct.

Welshman Ncube

The accusations involve several illegal actions connected to the Mphoko family’s business transactions, putting Ncube at the center of a significant legal controversy.

The RBZ letter

Illegal Actions Involving the Mphokos’ Lawyer, Prof. Welshman Ncube

Issuing or Transferring Shares Without Exchange Control Authority

Professor Welshman Ncube, taking advantage of his solicitor powers and the powers of attorney granted him by former Vice President Mr. Phelekezela Mphoko and his son Mr. Siqokoqela Mphoko, is accused of facilitating the issuance of shares to a foreign resident or nominee without obtaining the necessary Exchange Control authority. This action violates Section 12 of Statutory Instrument 109 of 1996, which mandates prior approval for such transactions.

Absence of Exchange Control Authority for Share Disposal

Further allegations indicate that Prof. Ncube did not secure the required Exchange Control authority when Mr. Phelekezela Mphoko and Mr. Siqokoqela Mphoko sold their 51% shareholding in Nanavac Investments to Choppies Investments, a company based in Botswana. This oversight constitutes a breach of Zimbabwe’s stringent financial regulations.

Acquisition of Shares by Foreign Entity Using Local Currency Without Approval

Prof. Ncube is also implicated in overseeing the purchase of shares by Choppies Investments using local currency funds without obtaining prior approval from Exchange Control. This unauthorized use of local funds for share acquisition raises serious concerns about the legality and transparency of these transactions.

Payment for Shares from Non-approved Channels

The accusations extend to the payment for shares using funds that were not transmitted through normal banking channels, again without the necessary Exchange Control approval. This method of payment under Prof. Ncube’s guidance adds to the list of alleged financial infractions.

Issuance or Transfer of Shares Without Reserve Bank Permission

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has highlighted that Prof. Ncube facilitated the issuance or transfer of shares without securing the required permission from the bank. This breach of regulatory frameworks is seen as a significant violation of Zimbabwe’s financial laws.

Purchase of Foreign Currency on the Parallel Market

One of the most severe allegations against Prof. Ncube involves the purchase of foreign currency on the parallel market, a practice prohibited under Section 5 (1) (a) (ii) of the Exchange Control Act Chapter 22:05. This illegal activity undermines the formal financial system and contributes to economic instability.

Official Statement from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe

In response to these serious allegations, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has issued a formal communication to the C.I.D Bulawayl Anti-Corruption Unit. The letter, signed by Director F. Masendu, details the multiple breaches of financial regulations and underscores the necessity for proper Exchange Control approval in all such transactions.

The bank’s statement provides a comprehensive outline of the general guidelines for transactions involving foreign entities, emphasizing the mandatory requirements for Exchange Control approval and the use of proper banking channels. The communication also reiterates the illegality of purchasing foreign currency on the parallel market.

Impact and Next Steps

These revelations have sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s legal and business communities. The allegations against Prof. Ncube not only damage his reputation but also raise significant questions about the integrity of the financial operations involving Choppies Enterprises.

Authorities are expected to launch a thorough investigation into these allegations. Legal experts predict substantial ramifications for all parties involved as the case progresses.

For now, Prof. Welshman Ncube and Choppies Enterprises remain under intense scrutiny, with the potential for significant legal and financial consequences looming large.

Meanwhile, the following questions remain:

  1. Who authorized Choppies Enterprises to operate in Zimbabwe without the necessary permissions?
  2. How are they addressing the allegations of violating Zimbabwean laws?
  3. What measures are in place to prevent money laundering within their operations?
  4. How are they managing to operate 100% as a foreign entity in a sector reserved for local businesses without prior clearance?
  5. What actions will be taken to ensure compliance with Zimbabwe’s regulations moving forward?

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.

By Dorrothy Moyo |

Recent revelations involving convicted fraudster Wicknell Chivayo, who has been implicated in using illicit proceeds to buy luxury cars and other extravagant items for women, including those married, have sparked widespread concern.

Wicknell Chivayo

This analysis explores the broader implications of such actions, drawing on various case law from around the world to highlight the legal, social, and ethical consequences.

Case Studies and Legal Precedents

  1. United States v. Frank Abagnale:
  • Frank Abagnale, famously depicted in the movie “Catch Me If You Can,” was a master forger and imposter. His case underscores the legal repercussions of fraud and money laundering, including long prison sentences and the forfeiture of assets. Abagnale’s activities also strained relationships and trust within communities, showcasing how illegal financial gains can disrupt societal norms.
  1. R v. Anand (Canada):
  • In this case, high-profile lawyer, Mr. Anand, was convicted of money laundering. The court emphasized the broader societal harm caused by money laundering, including the erosion of trust in financial institutions and the destabilization of communities. Anand’s case highlighted the personal toll on families and relationships affected by his actions.
  1. Operation Car Wash (Brazil):
  • The largest corruption scandal in Latin America, Operation Car Wash, involved numerous politicians and businesspeople engaging in money laundering. The scandal not only led to significant political and economic instability but also exposed the personal ramifications on families involved, with marriages and personal relationships suffering due to the stigma and legal battles.
  1. United Kingdom v. Asil Nadir:
  • Asil Nadir, a British businessman, was convicted of theft and money laundering. His lavish lifestyle funded by illicit proceeds eventually led to his downfall. • Engaging in or accepting gifts from money launderers can result in severe legal consequences, including imprisonment, fines, and the seizure of assets. Legal systems worldwide have stringent measures to combat money laundering, recognizing its detrimental impact on society.
  1. Impact on Marriages:
  • The involvement of married individuals with money launderers can lead to significant marital strife. The sudden influx of wealth can create power imbalances and trust issues within marriages. When the truth of the illicit source is revealed, it often results in legal battles, divorces, and custody disputes.
  1. Community Trust and Stability:
  • Money laundering erodes trust within communities. When individuals flaunt wealth obtained through illegal means, it undermines the values of hard work and honesty, creating a toxic environment. Communities suffer as social cohesion breaks down, leading to increased crime and social instability.
  1. Ethical and Moral Dilemmas:
  • The acceptance of gifts and favors from money launderers presents ethical and moral dilemmas. It perpetuates a cycle of corruption and unethical behavior, challenging the moral fabric of society. Upholding integrity becomes challenging when illicit wealth is normalized and celebrated.

The actions of individuals like Wicknell Chivayo serve as a stark reminder of the far-reaching consequences of money laundering. By drawing on various case law from around the world, we see a consistent pattern of legal repercussions, personal and familial damage, and the broader societal harm caused by such activities. It is imperative for communities to remain vigilant, promote ethical behavior, and support legal measures to combat money laundering, ensuring a stable and trustworthy environment for all.

Recommendations

  • Strengthen Legal Frameworks: Governments should continue to enhance legal frameworks to combat money laundering effectively.
  • Promote Community Awareness: Educating the public about the risks and consequences of engaging with money launderers is crucial.
  • Support Affected Families: Providing legal and emotional support to families affected by money laundering can help mitigate personal and social harm.
  • Encourage Ethical Behavior: Communities should uphold and celebrate integrity and honesty, discouraging the normalization of illicit wealth.

Attempts to obtain a comment from Wicknell Chivayo were fruitless at the time of writing.

Double Tragedy as Man Returns from SA to Find Parents’ Home Sold

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Zibusiso Sibanda, who recently returned to Zimbabwe after spending 25 years in South Africa, discovered that both his parents had passed away and their family home had been sold. The 45-year-old now works as a car washer and parking marshal on the streets of Bulawayo, struggling to rebuild his life from scratch.

Zibusiso Sibanda

“My name is Zibusiso Sibanda and I am 45. I went to South Africa in 1998 to look for better life opportunities,” Sibanda told The Sunday News. His journey, however, was fraught with challenges and misfortune. In South Africa, he undertook various jobs, including working in restaurants, but was frequently arrested and detained due to lack of proper documentation.

“Lady Luck was not on my side as I was always in and out of prison for things like not having proper documentation, among others. I couldn’t keep the many jobs that I got owing to the arrests and detention,” Sibanda recounted.

The tipping point came in the final years of his stay when he was found in possession of what was suspected to be stolen property. Unable to provide receipts, he was arrested and placed on remand for several years. Eventually, he was sentenced to eight years in prison, a development that devastated his life.

“Being sentenced to prison ruined my life as my parents passed on while I was behind bars,” he said. Sibanda’s mother died in 2019 and his father in 2020, during which time the family home in Magwegwe North was sold as his father fell ill.

“I later benefited from parole and was deported last year. When I got back, I was informed that my mother had passed on in 2019 and my father the following year in 2020. I was told that when my father fell ill in 2020, he sold the house. So when I came back, I had nowhere to stay and I had nothing on me since I was coming from prison,” Sibanda lamented.

Homeless and destitute, Sibanda resorted to living on the streets behind Bulawayo Central Police Station. Despite his dire circumstances, he is determined to forge a new path forward, working as a car washer and parking marshal to make ends meet.

The plight of Zibusiso Sibanda is a stark reminder of the struggles faced by many Zimbabweans who leave the country in search of better opportunities, only to encounter harsh realities and unforeseen tragedies. His story underscores the urgent need for social support systems to aid those returning to their homeland under similar distressing conditions.- State Media

Prophet Ed Branson’s Wife Responds to Allegations of Affair with Wicknell Chivhayo

By A Correspondent| In a desperate bid to clear her tarnished image as a preacher’s wife, Prophet Ed Branson’s spouse has addressed the swirling rumors about her alleged affair with controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo.

The allegations, which have sparked significant public interest, were rooted in purportedly leaked Instagram chats that suggested Chivhayo had purchased a car for Branson’s wife.

In her response, she expressed her dismay at the extent to which people are willing to manipulate and fabricate conversations to suit their own narratives.

She stated, “I don’t normally respond to things that people say about me because I honestly don’t see the need to when the people that MATTER know the truth but it is very sad that we live in a world where people would actually be so heartless to the extent of editing normal conversations and directing them to come out as something they are not, just to suit a narrative that they want to push.”

She continued by criticizing those who spread falsehoods for personal gain, whether it be for likes, views, or revenge, concluding with a poignant remark: “A lie indeed goes around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”

Wicknell Chivhayo has also responded to the allegations, claiming that the chats were fabricated using a ghost account that he has previously reported to Instagram. He asserted that these fake accounts have been a persistent issue, used to spread malicious rumors and tarnish his reputation.

Despite these defenses, there is a general feeling among the public that the leaked chats are genuine.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, Chivhayo is currently embroiled in a bitter fight with former business partners Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu.

Chimombe and Mpofu, who are currently languishing in remand prison after being denied bail, were the first to leak audios in which Chivhayo was allegedly bragging about his control over the President. This feud has only added more fuel to the fire, casting further doubt on Chivhayo’s credibility.

Prophet Ed Branson has remained silent, focusing instead on his ministry work. However, sources close to the couple affirm their strong bond and mutual trust.

Key Features to Look for in a High-Performance Betting App

In the fast-paced world of online betting, a high-performance app can make or break your gaming experience.

Whether you’re a seasoned bettor tracking every point spread or a casual enthusiast making occasional wagers on big games, the right app can elevate your play. But with many options flooding the market, what should you look for to ensure you’re using a top-tier betting app? This article delves into the essential features that distinguish the best from the rest, helping you make informed decisions that enhance your betting journey.

Seamless User Experience

First, a great betting app must offer a seamless user experience. This encompasses everything from a clean, intuitive design that guides you effortlessly through its features to lightning-fast loading times that never keep you waiting. The last thing you want during a crucial game is a glitchy interface or a bet that hangs because the app can’t handle the action.

The app should be organized so that finding your favorite sports or casino games is a breeze. Navigation should be straightforward, with commonly used features like bet slip, account balance, and customer support just a tap away. Remember, in online betting, time is often of the essence. The ability to place bets quickly, check your winnings, and withdraw funds with minimal taps can significantly impact your betting strategy and, ultimately, your returns.

Moreover, customization features that allow you to tailor the app according to your preferences can greatly enhance your interaction. Whether managing notifications to keep you updated on your bets or setting up quick access to your favorite sports, a personalized experience can make your betting more efficient and enjoyable.

Robust Security Measures

Security is paramount in the digital betting world. A high-performance betting app must provide robust security measures to protect your personal and financial information. Look for apps that employ advanced encryption technologies similar to those used by banks to secure data transmission. This ensures that all transactions, from deposits to withdrawals, are safeguarded against potential threats.

Furthermore, the app should adhere to strict privacy policies and regulations, demonstrating their commitment to user safety. Features like two-factor authentication (2FA), which adds an extra layer of security before access is granted, can prevent unauthorized access to your account.

Additionally, the app’s track record in handling user data and its transparency about its security protocols are crucial factors to consider. You want to bet with an app that values your security and actively takes steps to improve it over time. After all, the confidence to bet starts with your trust in the platform.

Comprehensive Betting Options and Features

Diversity in betting options often separates the good from the bad regarding betting apps. A high-performance app should offer a wide array of sports, covering everything from mainstream events like football and basketball to niche sports like darts and table tennis. This variety ensures a broad spectrum of betting opportunities, catering to all interests and expertise levels.

Beyond the basic betting types, advanced features such as live betting, where you can place bets on events as they happen, significantly enhance the excitement and potential winnings. An app that provides detailed, real-time statistics and live streaming of games adds immense value, allowing you to make informed bets based on how the action unfolds.

Furthermore, integrating features like cash-out, which lets you secure a profit or minimize losses before the event is over, and accumulator bets for higher returns on small wagers indicate an app’s dedication to providing a comprehensive betting experience. These features add depth to your betting and give you more control over your bets.

Choosing the right betting app is crucial to your experience and success in online gambling. An app that combines a seamless user interface, stringent security measures, and a comprehensive range of betting options creates an environment where you can bet confidently and easily. Keep these key features in mind as you evaluate your choices, and you’ll be well on your way to finding a high-performance betting app that meets and exceeds your expectations. Happy betting!

Integration with Modern Payment Solutions

In today’s digital age, the flexibility of payment options available within a betting app is crucial for a seamless user experience. A high-performance betting app should support a variety of modern payment methods, including e-wallets like PayPal, Skrill, and Neteller, credit cards, debit cards, and even cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. This versatility ensures that users can fund their accounts and withdraw winnings using the most convenient methods.

Moreover, the app should facilitate quick deposits and even faster withdrawals, minimizing the wait time for users to access their money. A betting app should have transparent policies regarding transaction times, fees, and minimum or maximum limits. These features reflect the app’s commitment to user convenience and reliability, which are essential factors enhancing the betting experience.

Enhanced Mobile Compatibility

As more users migrate from desktop to mobile for their betting needs, superior mobile compatibility becomes increasingly important. A high-performance betting app should offer a flawless mobile experience optimized for various devices, including smartphones and tablets across Android, iOS, and other operating systems. This ensures that users can place bets, check live scores, and manage their accounts effortlessly, regardless of their device.

The mobile app should mirror the functionality of the desktop version but be optimized for a smaller screen with a more compact and responsive design. Navigation should be streamlined, and the app should utilize mobile-specific features such as touch ID for login, push notifications for betting updates, and location services to ensure compliance with regional betting laws. These mobile-centric adaptations are crucial for providing a user-friendly experience that meets the modern bettor’s needs.

Personalized Betting Insights and Analytics

For the strategic bettor, having access to personalized insights and analytics within the app can significantly influence betting decisions. A high-performance betting app should offer advanced analytics tools that analyze past betting behavior to provide customized suggestions. These tools can help users identify patterns in their betting, suggest possible profitable opportunities, and even alert them to recurring mistakes in their betting strategy.

Additionally, the app could provide a dashboard featuring statistical data on teams, horses, players, and other relevant factors, empowering users with the information needed to make informed bets.

Integrating features like performance graphs, odds comparisons from different bookmakers, and expert analysis within the app enhances its utility. It could drastically improve a user’s betting efficiency and success rate. These personalized tools cater to the needs of seasoned bettors and help newcomers ascend quickly up the learning curve, making the app valuable to a wide spectrum of users. Mnangagwa ZiG Plans Shake Banks

By Business Reporter- President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent comments regarding plans to make the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) the sole legal tender in the country before 2030 have shaken the banking sector.

Since Mnangagwa’s utterances early this month, banks have adopted a more cautious approach to long-term lending.

Last October, the government gazetted Statutory Instrument (SI) 218 of 2023, which extended the use of the multiple-currency system in Zimbabwe until December 2030.

But in his address at the commissioning of the Mutare Teachers College’s fruit juice and water processing plant on July 4, 2024, President Mnangagwa hinted that if ZiG maintains stability, dollarisation may end in two years.

A local private weekly cited an unnamed industrialist saying that Mnangagwa’s comments have made banks adopt a cautious approach, trying to determine whether the President’s comments were a policy statement or merely political rhetoric. Said the industrialist:

There are political statements and there are policy statements; what I was hearing is that it was a political statement.

I think what the President was saying is the goals for 2030 might happen earlier, not necessarily saying this is what was going to happen.

What banks have been trying to do is establish certainty in what is going to happen next.

So, they have not gone to anyone to say we are not lending but they are not doing anything. They are waiting for clarity; they are trying to understand whether this is a policy or a political statement and establish a level of comfort before they continue with long-term lending.

It will be harmless to continue until 2030 with a stable local currency in a multi-currency environment.

What authorities should be uncomfortable with is when the US dollar begins to affect the stability of the ZiG.

A top business leader said many companies had been struggling to access loans for a long time. Said the business leader:

Regarding the President’s remarks about de-dollarising by 2028, this, in my view, has to be taken in the context of the well-articulated and publicised plan by the government to end the country’s reliance on the USD and establish the ZiG as the sole local transacting currency.

Accordingly, we still stand guided by Statutory Instrument 218 of 2023, being aware that the government’s aim is to achieve the mono-currency position before December 31, 2030.

The challenges of accessing long-term funding cannot be solely attributed to the President’s remarks. Access to finance, more so, long-term funding has been a perennial problem.

What would help resolve this challenge would include policy consistency and predictability, among other factors.

As such, pronouncements that are in line with policy would not be expected to cause market shocks of grave significance.

In November 2023, Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Mthuli Ncube stated that the government’s decision to enact SI 218 of 2023 was prompted by the banks’ refusal to lend money in both the Zimbabwe dollar and the United States dollar. Ncube said at the time:

We are headed for mono currency, let’s be clear about that, but we want order. So the extension to 2030 was to createorder and calm in the market.

Hopewell Chin’ono Challenged To Simply Prove He Didn’t Steal Money For His First Home

ARTICLE REPUBLISHED-

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has lashed out at journalists amidst escalating controversy over the origins of his wealth. Chin’ono, who initially claimed a £50,000 credit for a sports car in 1996 as the springboard for his property empire, has now shifted his narrative, leading to intense public and media scrutiny.

In a recent Facebook post, Chin’ono vehemently defended his success, stating that journalists asking questions over his untraceable figures, are jealous of him.

One of the scribes is his own former employer, Geoff Nyarota he has failed to supply the most basic answers since a 2021 interview published by Newsday.

Said Chin’ono in part: “But sadly, some rotten apples in my profession are so envious and bitter such that they create stories to justify why I made it, and why they didn’t.” This statement is a direct response to the growing doubts about his earlier account of receiving a £50,000 credit from an undisclosed UK institution or company in 1996, a detail crucial to understanding his rise in property ownership.

This credit, as per Chin’ono’s earlier statements, was pivotal in redirecting his focus from luxury to investment, influenced by advice from his mentor, Dr. Tendai Maboreke. However, Chin’ono’s recent assertion that his wealth actually stemmed from a mobile phone business a decade later starkly contradicts this narrative. The lack of transparency regarding the UK lender and the sudden shift in the story of his financial ascent has cast a shadow over his claims.

Chin’ono’s aggressive approach towards journalists and critics questioning the inconsistencies in his story raises further doubts. His characterization of these inquiries as driven by envy and bitterness, rather than addressing the substantive issues at hand, diverts attention from the need for clarity and factual accuracy.

The situation is further complicated by allegations of credit and cheque fraud, along with claims of misconduct dating back to his high school days. These unresolved issues, coupled with the recent contradictions in his wealth narrative, demand a deeper investigation into the true origins of Chin’ono’s assets and his professional conduct.

As the controversy continues to unfold, the public remains in search of concrete answers. The central question persists: What is the true source of Hopewell Chin’ono’s wealth, and how does it reconcile with his varying accounts over the last 29 years? His recent remarks on social media, while dismissive of his critics, have only amplified the calls for transparency and a thorough exploration of his financial history. READ THE FULL STORY HERE

POTRAZ Cancels Wicknell’s Starlink Exclusive Contract by President Mnangagwa

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – In a dramatic turn of events, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has revoked the exclusive rights previously granted to Wicknell Chivayo’s IMC Communications to operate Starlink services in Zimbabwe. This comes amidst an internal power struggle within ZANU-PF, with various political elites and their close associates vying for a share of the lucrative Starlink “cake.”

When President Emmerson Mnangagwa initially announced the licensing of Starlink in Zimbabwe, he declared:
“I’m pleased to announce that I have approved the licensing of Starlink by POTRAZ to provide advanced internet and related digital processing services in Zimbabwe through its sole and exclusive local partner, IMC Communications (Pvt) Ltd.”

However, this exclusive right has now been rescinded. The ZANU-PF propaganda outlet, The Herald, reported that POTRAZ has clarified that no entity holds exclusive rights to provide Starlink services in the country. This development has left IMC Communications, owned by Chivayo, reeling from the abrupt policy reversal.

According to insiders, this move is a result of intense lobbying by other powerful political actors within ZANU-PF who also seek to benefit from the introduction of Starlink services. President Mnangagwa’s initial announcement appears to have been a promise given to IMC, but it has now been overturned due to pressure from various influential figures close to the President.

The Herald reported that POTRAZ’s statement explicitly mentioned, “nobody has exclusive rights,” effectively pulling the rug out from under IMC Communications, which had recently appointed communications veteran and former ZOL CEO, Danny Marandure, to lead the company following the initial licensing announcement.

This new POTRAZ directive means that existing internet service providers in Zimbabwe can now negotiate deals with Starlink, allowing them to provide the necessary hardware and services locally. This shift opens up the market to increased competition and potentially better services for consumers.

The political ramifications of this decision are significant, highlighting the ongoing power struggles within ZANU-PF and the influence of elite networks on key economic decisions. The revocation of IMC’s exclusive rights reflects the complex dynamics at play, where economic interests intersect with political maneuvering.

This controversy is further compounded by recent leaked chats and audios implicating Chivayo in potential financing of terrorism aimed at removing the elected government of President Mnangagwa. These disclosures, if proven true, could legally unseat Mnangagwa without any violence. Chivayo has issued conflicting statements about these leaks, initially denying their authenticity but later admitting they were from his Instagram account.

Chivayo’s public statements have added to the intrigue. On one hand, he claimed the messages were fabrications by fake accounts and artificial intelligence. Yet, he simultaneously acknowledged that the leaked messages, which included interactions with wives of prominent men and discussions about lavish gifts, were genuine.

As Chivayo attempts to navigate the fallout from both the revocation of Starlink rights and the damaging leaks, the broader implications for Zimbabwe’s political and economic landscape remain uncertain. The role of POTRAZ, the influence of political elites, and the potential legal repercussions for President Mnangagwa are all under intense scrutiny as this story continues to unfold.

Why Is Jacob Mudenda Showing Off A Dark-Glassed Bodyguard at Parliamentary Meeting Like A Military Coup Removing ED?

By Dorrothy Moyo | ZimEye | The last time Jacob Mudenda appeared like this was on 17 Nov 2017 when the President has been violently overthrown- In a surprising display, Speaker of Parliament Hon. Advocate J.F.N. Mudenda appeared at a parliamentary meeting on Saturday accompanied by a fearsome bodyguard wearing dark sunglasses. This unusual choice of security detail raised questions about the intentions and message behind such a public display of protection.

Jacob Mudenda on Saturday afternoon

During his keynote address, Mudenda spoke to the Committee about the significant responsibilities they face, emphasizing the vital role of the mining sector in Zimbabwe’s economy. “In that context, your Committee should not be oblivious of the fact that the mining sector is estimated to contribute 8% towards our national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) while creating over 45,000 formal jobs and informal employment opportunities for approximately one million artisanal and small-scale miners. Furthermore, the mining sector accounts for 60% of the country’s export receipts. For this reason, your Committee is enjoined to collaborate with the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development in ensuring that innovative mining strategies are employed in order to upscale the mining productivity which should enable Zimbabwe to attain greater heights of economic prosperity,” he opined.

However, the presence of the dark-glassed bodyguard overshadowed Mudenda’s important message. Why did Mudenda feel the need to showcase such a fearsome protector during a parliamentary meeting? Was it a statement about the gravity of the issues at hand, or a sign of underlying threats and tensions within the political landscape? The bodyguard’s intimidating presence added an unexpected layer of drama and intrigue to an otherwise routine parliamentary address.

As Mudenda discussed the economic potential and challenges of the mining sector, the visual of his dark-glassed bodyguard seemed to speak volumes, leaving many to wonder about the deeper implications of this conspicuous security measure.

Mudenda’s posture comes at a time when all eyewear are on him, during this time when there are open calls for Emmerson Mnangagwa to be removed as he has already served his two terms in office since 2017. Mudenda is the one mandated by the constitution to remove the President by reading his resignation letter as he did on the late Robert Mugabe during the Nov 2017 coup.

Wicknell Chivayo Contradicts Himself on Leaked Instagram Messages, To Admit They Are 100% True

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – Tenderpreneur, Wicknell Chivayo has issued conflicting statements regarding leaked Instagram messages and audios purportedly from his account. The disclosures have exposed serious money laundering aimed at removing the elected government. If proven true, all these revelations could legally oust Mnangagwa from power without a single bullet fired.

Chivayo’s statements have added fuel to an already explosive situation. On one hand, he asserts that the leaked chats, which include conversations with wives of prominent men and details of lavish gifts like money and cars, are malicious fabrications generated by fake accounts and artificial intelligence. On the other hand, he admits that these messages were indeed posted from his genuine Instagram account, adding to the gravity of the situation.

The leaked messages and audios suggest Chivayo has been involved in financing activities that could be classified as terrorism. Such accusations, now substantiated, carry severe legal implications for ZANU PF as transactions were executed outside Zimbabwe.

In a detailed statement released on Saturday, July 20th, Chivayo vehemently denied the authenticity of the leaked messages, labeling them as coordinated attacks by criminals who failed to extort him. He stated:

“FOR THE RECORD not everything requires a response, but this continued relentless attack on my personal standing, coordinated character assassination of high-profiled people, and defamation of purely innocent women using my name can NEVER be tolerated or ignored!

I have been APPALLED that over the last few days, almost every social media platform has been awash with screenshots PURPORTEDLY taken from my Instagram account. I disassociate myself from these FAKE screenshots and DISMISS them in their entirety as nothing more than MALICIOUS fabrications being sponsored by CRIMINALS who realized that their attempt to extort me was DISMALLY unsuccessful.”

Chivayo further claimed that various fake accounts, including “sirwicknellfanpage,” “chivayowicknell,” and “wicknell_chivayo_,” were responsible for the deceptive posts. Despite reporting these accounts, he expressed frustration that they have not been taken down.

In his statement, Chivayo also extended apologies to individuals affected by the fake messages, including Prophet Dr. Edd Branson, emphasizing his respect for Branson as a successful businessman.

However, Chivayo’s narrative took a perplexing turn when he acknowledged that these false messages were indeed circulated from his actual Instagram account, contradicting his earlier claims of them being generated by fake accounts and AI. This inconsistency has cast doubt on his denials and raised questions about the authenticity of his statements.

Chivayo had previously addressed accusations of money laundering and voice messages allegedly implicating him in corrupt activities. On June 12, 2024, he categorically denied the authenticity of the voice messages, attributing them to sophisticated technology and accusing two individuals, Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu, of orchestrating the attacks. He stated:

“I categorically refute, deny, and dismiss with contempt, recording the voice messages in question. For the avoidance of any doubt, I have never, at any material time, recorded the alleged voice messages, neither have I transmitted such to anyone. I therefore unequivocally distance and totally dissociate myself from these unauthentic voice messages. I have reason to believe that these recordings were generated through sophisticated technology, all with the fraudulent intention of creating false alarm and despondency.”

Chivayo’s mixed statements have only deepened the controversy surrounding him, leaving the public and authorities to sift through the contradictions. As the situation unfolds, the implications of financing terrorism and its potential to legally remove Mnangagwa from power remain a critical focal point. The credibility of Chivayo’s claims and the legal consequences for Mnangagwa’s administration are now under intense scrutiny, with the potential for significant political upheaval.

The suspension was announced by Zanu PF Varakashi, underscoring the seriousness with which the matter is being handled internally.

Speculation surrounding the origins and motivations behind the leak has added layers of complexity to the situation.

In a WhatsApp group discussion, unverified claims emerged suggesting a connection between Mukarati and President Emmerson Mnangagwa, further fueling public intrigue and political gossip.

Allegations of a matchmaker role attributed to First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa have also circulated, although these remain unsubstantiated.

The fallout from this scandal extends beyond Mukarati’s personal and political reputation.

It has become a focal point in discussions about privacy rights, gender dynamics, and the intersection of personal behavior with public responsibilities among Zimbabwean politicians.

The incident has prompted calls for greater scrutiny of leaders’ private lives and ethical conduct, underscoring the delicate balance between personal freedoms and public expectations.

Moreover, the incident has raised questions about the vulnerability of public figures to digital privacy breaches and the potential consequences of such violations.

As technology continues to evolve, safeguarding individuals’ privacy in both public and private spheres remains an ongoing challenge for governments and organizations worldwide.

In the midst of this controversy, Mukarati has not publicly commented on the allegations or her suspension.

Her next steps, along with the outcome of the investigation by Zanu-PF authorities, are eagerly awaited as Zimbabweans and the international community monitor developments closely.

The fallout from Ratidzo Mukarati’s suspension serves as a stark reminder of the complexities and challenges inherent in modern political life, where personal conduct can have far-reaching implications for both individuals and the institutions they represent.

As this story continues to unfold, it is likely to shape discussions about transparency, accountability, and the evolving role of morality in Zimbabwe’s political landscape for years to come.

Mnangagwa Fires Top Harare Commission Official

By Political Reporter- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired Norbert Phiri from the Commission of Inquiry into the governance of Harare City Council.

Mnangagwa replaced Phiri with city lawyer Tafadzwa Charles Hungwe.

In May Mnangagwa appointed a five-member commission to probe matters of local governance at Harare City Council beginning 2017.

Retired High Court Judge Justice Maphios Cheda chairs the commission, whose other members are Mr Steven Chakaipa, Mrs Lucia Gladys Matibenga and Ms Khonzani Ncube.

The Permanent Secretary for Local Government and Public Works, Dr John Bhasera, is the commission’s secretary.

The Justice Cheda-led Commission was given six months to operate with room to request another three months, if necessary, with eight terms of reference.
Among issues to be interrogated will be financial management systems and audit compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and other laws.
The Commission will also probe the financial management of revenue generated through special vehicle companies and other out-sourced arrangements as well as the reasons behind the failure to operate an enterprise resource planning system for Harare City Council and quantify any losses accruing as a result.
Also to be investigated will be the procedures of management, sales, leases of other transfers of the city council’s properties to private entities.
The terms of reference also include investigations into the convening of council meetings as well as adherence to the Standing Orders and Rules in council meetings by Harare City Council.
Compliance with procurement laws, inclusive of disposal of assets and compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act will also be under focus.
The commission can also make visits where necessary, summon witnesses, record proceedings, minute testimonies, and documents, consider and manage all information gathered in order to arrive at appropriate findings and recommendations to the President.
It can also investigate anything else that the commission deems appropriate and relevant to the inquiry.

Roadport Faces Closure

By Municipal Reporter-Harare City Council is set to close Roadport cross-border bus terminus on Fifth Street.

Harare Mayor Councillor Jacob Mafume said the city has not benefited from the deal it signed with the company running Roadport operations.

Roadport is built on part of Raylton Sports Club land leased from Harare City Council many years ago to provide sports and recreation facilities for club members who were almost all railway workers.
Apart from the Roadport deal, Clr Mafume said Harare City will also demolish tuckshops that were built at Raylton Sports Club as that was done against the terms of the lease agreement with the National Railways of Zimbabwe.
He made the disclosures when he appeared before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee where he was responding to issues raised in the Auditor-General’s report for 2021.
“What is the update on the Roadport? The Roadport is another agreement that we are going to cancel. We have benefited absolutely nothing. When the Roadport was built, they forgot that it was the property of the City of Harare,” Clr Mafume said.
Roadport started operations in the late 1990s and serves travellers going to destinations in SADC and some parts of East Africa by bus.
On the issue of Raylton Sports Club, the mayor said council would demolish tuckshops built on a site next to Roadport.
“In fact, the whole Raylton Club, which we leased out to the NRZ, instead of building bullet trains, they are building tuckshops. We are going to demolish the tuckshops. We are going to demolish the structure that is there on account that we have not benefited anything as a city and the residents have not benefited anything,” he said.
Clr Mafume said in the city’s master plan, Roadport would be moved from the city centre to an area near the Mbudzi interchange to reduce congestion in the city centre.
Council is also looking at some of the past council’s contracts that were not benefiting residents.
“Some of these entities and contracts were done way before our time. They pre-date my council; they pre-date our council; and what we have been doing is to try and correct some of the issues through your assistance.
“Admittedly, some of the agreements are lopsided. They do not reflect the best interests of council and as far as they reflect that situation, we have endeavoured to terminate them or to renegotiate them.
“We have had challenges in re-negotiating in some instances and we have had challenges in re-engineering some of the entities, but we are making progress,” Clr Mafume said.

SA: Arrested Zimbabwean Freely Films “Good Life” Video In Jail Proving Ramaphosa Has Caused All This

Cape Town, July 20, 2024 – By Farai D Hove | Analysis | Bornface Banks, a Zimbabwean inmate at the Goodwood Correctional Centre in Cape Town, has been transferred to a maximum-security facility after a TikTok video he shot went viral. In the video, Banks boasted about the “good life” in prison, highlighting free food, free electricity, free toiletries, and free education, which sparked widespread controversy.

Correctional Services Spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo stated that Banks is currently in custody on allegations of kidnapping and has been in and out of prison since September 2022 on charges of murder, extortion, and illegal possession of a firearm. Banks is due back in court on October 9, 2024, on the charge of kidnapping.

Bonface Banks’s video- screenshots from video clip

“He has been charged by the Department of Correctional Services in terms of Section 23 for being in possession of a mobile phone, which is defined as contraband,” Nxumalo said. “The department wants to make it clear that its mission is to ensure our facilities are safe and secure, and we will continue to enhance security measures to eradicate the smuggling of contraband.”

Banks’ criminal record and current incarceration highlight a broader issue of displacement and criminality tied to the political actions of South African leaders. Since the early 2000s, policies and actions by ANC leaders, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, have contributed to the displacement of Zimbabweans, many of whom end up in South Africa under desperate circumstances. Human Rights Watch has urged Ramaphosa to press for key reforms in Zimbabwe, particularly when Zimbabwe requested a $1.2 billion bailout package from South Africa. However, Ramaphosa’s stance has often been contrary, contributing to the influx of displaced individuals.

ANC Presidents for over a quarter of a century have been making statements that create an immigration crisis. Since 2019, Ramaphosa has been repeating the same irresponsible allegation that Zimbabwe’s elections went well. This narrative starkly conflicts with the proven genocide in Zimbabwe, publicly boasted by its perpetrator, Emmerson Mnangagwa. Mnangagwa’s open admissions and declarations about his oppressive actions, including deploying the army against election winners and his chilling remarks equating democracy with death, stand as testament to the severity of these human rights violations.

Mnangagwa’s disturbing statements, such as commanding the army to surround and beat down residents of Kuwadzana for allegedly stopping the rain, and his assertion that “dying is democracy” because the dead constitute the majority, provide a clear and explicit acknowledgment of his role in these atrocities. His rhetoric, which attempts to intertwine political governance with fatalistic and undemocratic principles, highlights a brutal regime that has systematically violated human rights.

The contrast between South Africa’s legal challenge to Israel and Ramaphosa’s active support for Mnangagwa, who has openly admitted to genocidal acts, raises significant questions about the consistency and credibility of South Africa’s stance on international law. This dichotomy puts the spotlight on the South African leadership’s integrity and impartiality in addressing and acknowledging gross human rights violations, both within its region and globally. As the international community observes South Africa’s legal maneuvers, the integrity of its leadership in championing human rights is being scrutinized and challenged.

This is a significant escalation of international legal drama, in which the South African government is preparing to take Israel to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over allegations of genocide, even as it faces its own legal scrutiny over past actions. This move comes at a critical time when Pretoria has been found guilty by the South African Supreme Court of genocide crimes against Zimbabweans led by Nelson Chamisa, raising questions about the government’s consistency in addressing human rights violations.

Adding complexity to South Africa’s position is a separate but related case where the government was found guilty of violating genocide laws and failing in accountability reporting over war crimes related to Zimbabwe’s 2002 elections. The Supreme Court of Appeal ordered President Zuma to disclose a previously withheld report by Justices Khampepe and Moseneke on the rigging of Zimbabwe’s presidential election. This report, requested by former President Mbeki and initially suppressed, had been sought by The Mail & Guardian under the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA). After a prolonged legal battle, the Supreme Court’s decision to make the report public was a blow to the government’s transparency record.

The ICJ legal confrontation with Israel over its military actions in Gaza test South Africa’s standing in the international community. Israel’s potential challenge to South Africa’s legitimacy in bringing forth the allegations is rooted in Pretoria’s historical violations of domestic and international laws concerning war crimes and genocide. This includes its controversial support for the violent overthrow of elected governments in neighboring Zimbabwe, often spearheaded by Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The South African government’s involvement in publishing falsehoods about Zimbabwe’s war-crime-ridden elections and declaring Mnangagwa the winner despite evidence of electoral violence further complicates its role as a proponent of justice in the Israel case. The South African Supreme Court’s rulings implicate the government in supporting genocide, thereby potentially undermining its moral authority in the ICJ case against Israel.

The case against Israel, focused on preventing acts of potential genocide in Gaza, has gained urgency and international support. However, South Africa’s contentious legal history, including the suppression of the Khampepe and Moseneke report and the Supreme Court’s criticism of President Zuma’s handling of the case, might affect its credibility in the international legal arena. The Supreme Court of Appeal’s description of the President’s Office conduct as “bordering on the cynical” and an “abuse of process” casts a shadow on the government’s commitment to transparency and justice.

The cycle of displacement and criminality among Zimbabweans will continue to escalate until South African presidents stop promoting the displacement of Zimbabweans from their homeland. These policies not only harm South Africa by contributing to rising crime rates but also fail to address the root causes of the crisis in Zimbabwe. A change in approach, focusing on genuine reform and support for democratic processes in Zimbabwe, is essential for stabilizing the region and curbing the flow of displaced individuals who may turn to crime out of desperation. Only then can South Africa truly champion human rights and justice both within its borders and on the international stage.

Outcry as Mnangagwa Slashes Junior Cops’ Allowances

By A Correspondent

In a sudden and controversial move, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has sparked outrage among junior police officers by cutting their transport allowances without prior notice.

This decision has not only left the officers disillusioned but has also strained morale within the law enforcement ranks.

According to a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the junior officers were taken aback when they discovered the abrupt axing of their allowances.

“Outrageous! Junior police officers are reportedly unhappy after the regime abruptly axed their transport allowances without warning. “

How to Organize Your Financial Records for Tax Season

Tax season can be a stressful time for many, but being organized can make the process much smoother. Properly organizing your financial records not only helps you file your taxes more efficiently but also ensures that you maximize your deductions and credits. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to organize your financial records for tax season.

Start Early

The Importance of Early Preparation

Starting your tax preparation early can save you a lot of headaches. Early preparation allows you to gather all necessary documents and address any issues that may arise, such as missing information or errors. It also gives you ample time to consult with a tax professional if needed.

Create a Tax Checklist

Begin by creating a checklist of all the documents you will need. This list might include:

  • W-2 forms from employers
  • 1099 forms for other income
  • Mortgage interest statements
  • Property tax receipts
  • Medical expenses
  • Charitable donations
  • Investment income documents

Having a checklist ensures that you don’t overlook any crucial documents.

Gather Your Documents

Income Documents

Collect all forms of income documentation. This includes W-2 forms for salaried employees, 1099 forms for freelancers and independent contractors, and any other forms of income such as rental property income or alimony.

Expense Records

Gather receipts and records of deductible expenses. This can include medical expenses, charitable contributions, and business expenses if you are self-employed. Keeping these organized will help you claim all eligible deductions. To know more about the best tax relief services, find the list at Management.org.

Investment Records

Compile records of any investment income, including dividends, interest, and capital gains. If you’ve sold any investments, make sure to include the purchase and sale dates as well as the amounts.

Organize by Category

Create Folders

Set up physical or digital folders for different categories of documents. Common categories include income, expenses, investments, and property records. Label each folder clearly to make it easy to find the documents when you need them.

Use a Filing System

A consistent filing system can significantly simplify the process. Consider organizing your documents chronologically within each category. For example, keep your monthly bank statements in order from January to December.

Use Technology

Digital Storage Solutions

Consider scanning your documents and storing them digitally. Digital storage solutions like cloud services (Google Drive, Dropbox) or dedicated tax software can help you keep your records safe and accessible. Digital records are easier to search through and less likely to be lost.

Tax Software

Using tax software can help streamline the organization process. These programs often allow you to import your financial data directly from your bank or employer, making it easier to keep everything in one place. Many tax software options also provide checklists and reminders to ensure you have all the necessary documents.

Track Your Expenses Year-Round

Consistent Record-Keeping

Make a habit of tracking your expenses throughout the year. Consistent record-keeping will make tax season less overwhelming. Use apps or spreadsheets to log your expenses as they occur. This habit ensures that you don’t miss any deductible expenses and makes it easier to prepare your tax return.

Monthly Reviews

Set aside time each month to review and organize your financial records. Regular reviews help you stay on top of your finances and catch any discrepancies early. This practice also makes it easier to gather your documents at the end of the year.

Consult with a Professional

Seek Expert Advice

If your financial situation is complex, consider consulting with a tax professional. An accountant or tax advisor can provide valuable insights and help you organize your records efficiently. They can also ensure that you take advantage of all available deductions and credits.

Prepare Questions in Advance

Before meeting with a tax professional, prepare a list of questions and gather all relevant documents. This preparation will make the consultation more productive and help you get the most out of their expertise.

Keep Personal and Business Finances Separate

Separate Accounts

If you’re self-employed or run a small business, keep your personal and business finances separate. Use separate bank accounts and credit cards for business transactions. This separation makes it easier to track business expenses and prepare your tax return.

Detailed Business Records

Maintain detailed records of all business income and expenses. Use accounting software to track your business finances and generate reports. Detailed records are crucial for accurately reporting your income and claiming business deductions.

Review and Double-Check

Verify Accuracy

Before filing your tax return, review all your documents and verify their accuracy. Check for any missing information or errors that could delay your filing or trigger an audit.

Cross-Reference with Your Checklist

Cross-reference your gathered documents with your initial checklist to ensure you have everything you need. This final review helps you catch any overlooked items and ensures a complete and accurate tax return.

Secure Your Records

Safe Storage

Store your physical documents in a safe, organized location. Use a filing cabinet or a safe to protect your records from damage or loss. For digital records, ensure that they are backed up regularly and protected with strong passwords.

Retention Period

Keep your tax records for at least seven years. The IRS generally has three years to audit your return or claim any additional tax, but this period can extend to seven years in certain circumstances. Keeping your records for this period ensures that you are prepared for any inquiries or audits.

Conclusion

Organizing your financial records for tax season doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By starting early, using technology, and maintaining consistent record-keeping habits, you can simplify the process and reduce stress. Whether you manage your taxes independently or consult with a professional, being organized will help you file accurately and take advantage of all available deductions and credits. With a bit of preparation, you can navigate tax season smoothly and confidently.

HH Boycotts Mnangagwa Led Summit

By Business Reporter-The President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, Thursday boycotted a summit hosted by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and sent his Tourism Minister, Rodney Sikumba, to represent him.

The Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) Summit, which is currently ongoing in Harare, is also being attended by the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi.

Nyusi arrived at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport Thursday morning for the meeting.

Hichilema’s decision to avoid the Harare summit may stem from the deteriorating diplomatic ties between Harare and Lusaka. Recently, while in Russia, Mnangagwa accused Hichilema of posing a regional security risk due to his associations with the United States and other Western governments.

This accusation prompted Lusaka to summon Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Zambia, Charity Charamba, seeking an explanation for Mnangagwa’s comments.

The background to this animosity traces back to the historically tense relations between the two leaders, exacerbated by differing political alignments and external influences.

Mnangagwa, who has faced widespread criticism for his governance and human rights record, has often taken a confrontational stance towards Western nations, contrasting with Hichilema’s more open and collaborative approach with these countries.

The ZIMOZA TFCA event follows the Kavango Transfrontier Conservation Area summit held in Zambia recently.

The ZIMOZA TFCA agreement aims to:

  • Provide a tool to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Become the sixth initiative in the region involving Zimbabwe.
  • Cover wildlife corridors home to lions, elephants, buffaloes, and other animals.
  • Reflect the unity of communities living in these areas, which are divided by borders but share a common culture and history.
  • Demonstrate Zimbabwe’s commitment to delivering on the set targets established by the agreement.
  • Advocate for a holistic approach to address the challenge of human-wildlife conflict.
  • Highlight the far-reaching consequences of drought on wildlife, agriculture, and water systems.

The ZIMOZA TFCA is a significant step towards regional conservation efforts, despite the diplomatic friction overshadowing the summit.

Mnangagwa In Secret Talks With Mozambique’s President

Source : Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa

Today, I had the honour of welcoming President Nyusi of Mozambique to State House for the Tripartite Summit on the Transfrontier Conservation Area.

During our discussions, we addressed the pressing issue of human-wildlife conflict caused by the growing animal population, impacting the 600,000 people residing in these areas.

We recognise that borders should not divide us, and this agreement will open avenues for local communities to benefit and to implement a holistic approach to address their challenges, including the pressing issue of wildlife conflict.

His legacy as one of the university’s pioneering educators will be remembered fondly by colleagues, students, and the academic community at large.

As condolences pour in, the university and the broader academic community reflect on Professor Gondo’s contributions and mourn the loss of a distinguished scholar and mentor.

Nelson Chamisa Defends Strategic Ambiguity

By Tinashe Sambiri

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has reaffirmed his commitment to the doctrine of strategic ambiguity amidst growing scrutiny.

In a recent statement issued on Friday, Advocate Chamisa stated:

“The doctrine of strategic ambiguity serves to confound our adversaries.

The citizens are poised to govern! We stand as the victorious force united under one vision, one people, one nation. #ForEveryone #Godisinit.”

Strategic ambiguity is a communication strategy commonly employed in political discourse and negotiations.

It involves deliberate ambiguity or vagueness in statements or actions to keep adversaries unsure of one’s intentions or strategies.

Advocates argue that it provides flexibility and prevents opponents from developing effective counter-strategies.

Advocate Nelson Chamisa’s use of strategic ambiguity likely aims to maintain flexibility in political maneuvers, enabling him to adapt to changing circumstances while presenting a unified front to his supporters.

In the video, DJ Masomere who benefitted from a vehicle from controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo, is heard saying

“President vedu vari kugadzwa kuti SADC chair, SADC yose yakaungana ikati toisa ani leader, SADC nyika dzose dzemu SADC ndobva dzagara, vana Ramaphosa vakadai, vanani vakadai, totsvaga ani nhai veduwee, Botswana yatambura, umwe akati moda ani ruoko svuu, moda ani, ED, umwe ED, ah ED, ED saka President vedu manyama vari kugadzwa kuva SADC chair muna August, saka President vedu vanenge vave President we Zimbabwe vozoita mukuru we SADC saka ndinenge ndave MDC wa President na MC we SADC,” said Masomere to wild cheers from the congregants.

Meanwhile, Zimbabweans have reacted to this blatant abuse of villagers by DJ Masomere who deliberately misrepresented facts.

Hichilema Snubs Mnangagwa

By A Correspondent| Zambian President Hichilema Hakainde on Thursday boycotted a three-nation wildlife conservation summit in Harare in his continuing diplomatic spat with Zimbabwe’s leader Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Hakainde had been expected to attend the signing ceremony of the Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia Tripartite Transfrontier Conservation Area memorandum of agreement but sent his tourism minister instead.

Mnangagwa and Mozambique’s Filipe Nyusi represented their two countries.

Hichilema has called for mediation between Zambia and Zimbabwe after Mnangagwa, unaware his comments would be made public, told Russian President Vladimir Putin on a trip to Moscow in June that posed a security threat to his country through its growing military links with the United States.

“The Americans,” Mnangagwa told Putin, “are consolidating their power in that country (Zambia), both in terms of security and in terms of financial support to make sure that we feel lonely.”

He asked Putin for support “especially in the area of defence and security as well as food security.”

Zambia said Mnangagwa’s comments were “an unwarranted attack on the country’s sovereignty” and called for “urgent and immediate intervention” by regional countries to defuse the tensions.

The row deepened after Zimbabwe’s disputed elections in August 2023 when a SADC election observation mission headed by Zambian national Nevers Mumba concluded that the polls were not held according to regional and international standards on democratic elections, angering Mnangagwa.

Govt Cuts Transport Allowances For Junior Police Officers

The government has scrapped the transport allowances for junior police officers without any prior notice, leaving them in a precarious situation as they now struggle to commute to their workplaces.

According to officers who spoke on condition of anonymity, this decision is forcing them to resort to humiliating negotiations with unlicensed taxi operators, known as “mushikashika,” to secure free rides.

This situation not only compromises the dignity of the officers but also places them in a conflicted position, as they are tasked with enforcing regulations against the very same mushikashika operators they are now dependent on for transportation.

A police officer said junior cops have not been receiving the transport allowance since April 2024

Mako Haruzivishe Studying Law At Kent University

Former Zimbabwean opposition youth leader Makomborero Haruzivishe is currently studying law at Kent University in United Kingdom.

Haruzivishe who fled Zimbabwe after suffering extended imprisonment and threats to his life due to clashes with law enforcement agents in his home country has also been granted refugee status.

Samuel Townend, Chair of the Bar Council of England and Wales, shared the news on LinkedIn, highlighting the challenges Haruzivishe faced in Zimbabwe.

“A privilege to attend the 30-year commemoration of a democratic South Africa at Westminster Abbey today. I was also lucky to meet Makomborero Haruzivishe, a law student at the University of Kent, having been a law student and the National Student Union leader in Zimbabwe, persecuted, life threatened, and chased out by government forces there before successfully obtaining asylum here in the UK. Well done on your end-of-year exams Mako, and go well!” Townend posted.

In response, Haruzivishe expressed his gratitude on Facebook. “A privilege to attend the 30-year commemoration of a democratic South Africa at Westminster Abbey. I was also lucky to meet Samuel Townend KC, the Chair of the Bar Council of England and Wales.

“He is a legal giant and accomplished leader known for being ‘a great strategist and fantastic in cross-examination’ and ‘very clear, logical, and persuasive’ (Chambers UK) and also described by the Legal 500 as ‘a first-class advocate with the tenacity of a pitbull and manners of an English gentleman’.”

The former University of Zimbabwe student was sentenced to 14 months in prison for allegedly inciting public violence during a 2020 protest in Harare. The charges stemmed from his participation in a demonstration where he whistled at the busy Copa Cabana terminus, purportedly to rally protestors against the police.

He was accused of participating in public demonstrations with the intent to incite violence. He was subsequently convicted of inciting violence and resisting lawful arrest, for which he was sentenced on April 6, 2021, to 36 months in prison. At the time of his sentencing, Haruzivishe faced three other charges, all connected to his activism.

Although he appealed the sentence and was granted bail by a High Court judge in July 2021, Haruzivishe remained in prison after a magistrate ruled to revoke it until he had been tried for the other three offenses. After 10 months in detention, Haruzivishe was eventually granted bail on January 7, 2022, for the outstanding charges and released from prison the following day.

During his detention, British Embassy, commented on the arrest and detention, stating, “The British Embassy in Harare is in touch with Makomborero Haruzivishe’s lawyers as we await the outcome of his appeal. The UK regularly urges the Zimbabwean government to meet its international and domestic obligations by respecting the rule of law and the freedoms and rights enshrined in the Zimbabwean Constitution, safeguarding human rights, and committing to genuine political and economic reform for the benefit of all Zimbabweans.”

Now a Kent University Law student, Haruzivishe’s asylum status in England means the 30-year-old cannot return to Zimbabwe unless there are substantial changes to the threats that prompted his initial flight.

Under UK asylum regulations, individuals are typically prohibited from returning to their home countries while their asylum status is active, which could last for several years.

Fresh Scandal For Wicknell Chivhayo as Instagram Screenshots Expose Affair With Prophet’s Wife

By A Correspondent| Social media was abuzz this morning as users woke up to screenshots of Instagram chats allegedly involving businessman Wicknell Chivhayo and various women. Among the women named in the chats is the wife of controversial prophet Ed Branson. Reports suggest that Chivhayo bought her a car and handed it to her through her husband, disguised as a gift.

In another set of chats, Chivhayo is seen offering comfort to musician Shashl, the daughter of former Health Minister Obadiah Moyo, following her publicized fallout with boyfriend Levels. These revelations come at a time when Chivhayo is embroiled in a serious dispute with former allies Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu.

Chivhayo has long enjoyed immunity from justice due to his close ties with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, despite numerous accusations of corruption. However, this latest scandal threatens to tarnish his image and could potentially isolate him from the President.

Amid the unfolding drama, Chivhayo’s ex-wife posted a cryptic message on social media, expressing a sense of vindication. The flamboyant businessman, known for his weakness for women, is a member of the Apostolic church, which has strict policies against immorality.

Mutsvangwa’s Son Freedom Bid Delayed Further

Harare businessman Neville Mutsvangwa and his co-accused who are charged with illegal foreign currency dealings will have to wait a little longer for their trial date after the court indicated that investigations are yet to be finalised.

Mutsvangwa and his alleged accomplices Simbarashe Tichingana and Elisse Majachani were back in court this Thursday for routine remand, with the State successfully applying for the postponement of the matter to next month, pending finalisation of investigations.

The trio through their lawyer Mr Shepherd Mukonde indicated their intention to apply for the release of property seized when they were arrested which includes computers and visa cards.

The co-accused who are out on bail are accused of running an unregistered money transfer company.

Mutsvangwa is facing an additional charge of possessing an unlicensed Starlink Router at his home.

The trio is expected back in court on the 28th of next month pending finalisation of investigations.

Meanwhile, in another case, a trial date has been set for former Norton legislator, Themba Mliswa’s daughter Mudiwa Mliswa – Chanetsa who is accused of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs after she was allegedly found in possession of crystal meth.

Is Wicknell Bedding Prophet’s Wife?

Wicknell Chivayo’s Buys Another Man’s Wife A Car

By Showbiz Reporter | Harare, Zimbabwe– In a development that has sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s social and religious circles, controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has made headlines once again. Chivayo, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and high-profile connections, recently purchased a luxury car for Prophet Edd Branson’s wife, stirring a whirlwind of speculation and controversy.

Sources close to the matter revealed that Chivayo bought the car at the request of Prophet Branson’s wife, who is suspected to be one of Chivayo’s girlfriends. The arrangement was reportedly orchestrated to make the gift appear as a surprise from Prophet Branson himself.

The WhatsApp chats

According to insiders, Prophet Branson’s wife instructed Chivayo to present the car as a gift intended for “Mai Pastor,” a title affectionately used for the wives of prominent religious leaders. She further advised Chivayo to convince Prophet Branson that he, as the husband, should be the one to hand over the extravagant present to her, enhancing the illusion of a surprise.

The woman in pic

This elaborate scheme has raised eyebrows and led to heated discussions both online and within the local community. The gift, which some sources claim is a top-of-the-line luxury vehicle, has been perceived by many as an inappropriate display of wealth and favoritism, given the alleged romantic undertones.

Neither Wicknell Chivayo nor Prophet Edd Branson has publicly commented on the incident. However, the story has quickly become the talk of the town, with many questioning the ethical and moral implications of such actions within the context of Zimbabwe’s cultural and religious norms.

Social media platforms have been abuzz with reactions, ranging from outrage to disbelief. Some have called for greater scrutiny into the personal lives of public figures, while others have expressed concern over the potential impact of such revelations on the integrity and trust within religious communities.

As the story continues to unfold, the focus remains on the key figures involved and the potential fallout from this controversial episode. The car, a symbol of both opulence and scandal, has inadvertently become the latest catalyst for debate on the intersection of wealth, power, and morality in Zimbabwean society.

The central government owes the plant millions of dollars, resulting in underutilization of this vital resource.

In a statement on Wednesday, Tsvangirai said, “I visited the Morton Jeffrey water treatment plant with the Parliamentary portfolio committee on local government to understand the challenges faced by management and to appreciate the hard work of the staff in ensuring the city has access to clean water.”

He emphasized that the Ministry of Defence owes substantial funds to Morton Jeffrey, which prevents the plant from operating at full capacity.

“If the city receives the funds it is owed, it will significantly improve water provision,” Tsvangirai concluded.

Change Unstoppable : Zivhu

By A Correspondent

In a notable and unexpected turn, Killer Zivhu, a controversial official from Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party, has publicly praised opposition leader Nelson Chamisa.

This statement comes just days after Zivhu mocked the opposition, raising eyebrows across the political landscape.

Zivhu took to X to convey his thoughts, stating, “
Change is inevitable.

No weapon can stop it! Smith doubted black rule & land reform, but Zimbabweans made it happen through strategy & sacrifice. Don’t underestimate Chamisa & his team. Progress requires more work, development & strategy, not violence, ngativakeyi Nyika yedu.”

His remarks highlight a significant acknowledgment of Chamisa and his political team, suggesting that they should not be underestimated.

The implications of Zivhu’s statement are profound. By recognizing the inevitability of change and the importance of strategy over violence, Zivhu appears to advocate for a more constructive political environment.

He emphasized that progress requires collective effort, development, and careful planning, urging for unity in improving the nation.

This shift in rhetoric may indicate a broader political strategy within Zanu PF or a personal change of heart regarding the opposition’s role in Zimbabwe’s future.

It reflects a growing acknowledgment that, regardless of party affiliation, the need for development and strategic governance is paramount for the country’s advancement.

As Zimbabwe approaches critical political moments, such statements could signal a potential softening in the often adversarial relationship between the ruling party and the opposition.

Whether this is a genuine call for collaboration or a tactical maneuver remains to be seen, but Zivhu’s comments have certainly stirred the political pot and sparked discussions on the path forward for Zimbabwe.

Sad: Mnangagwa Nails Chamisa Aide

Tineyi Mapepa, our cluster leader for Mwenezi District, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison on trumped-up charges.

The Mwenezi Magistrate Court falsely convicted him of public violence, alleging he organized a meeting last year in preparation for the August elections

Despite his innocence, he is being persecuted for standing up for a better Zimbabwe.

The regime fears anyone who dares to stand up for what is right. His imprisonment is merely an intimidation tactic aimed at making Mwenezi a no-go zone for the opposition.

Our legal team will appeal the ruling at the High Court, as he is innocent.

We will continue fighting for a better Zimbabwe until real change comes to our country. #FreeTinayeMapepa

Health Crisis Rocks Mnangagwa’s Inner Circle As Top Officials Fall Ill

Political Reporter- President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inner circle, including his deputies, is grappling with a mounting health crisis.

The latest victim is former Education Minister Cain Mathema, who recently suffered a stroke.

Additionally, Vice President Kembo Mohadi recently struggled to complete a speech at an event held to donate laptops at Manama High School in Gwanda South.

Mohadi experienced a severe bout of coughing, forcing him to pause his speech and request water. Throughout the event, he appeared pale and tired.

Despite his appearance, the 74-year-old Vice President dismissed rumours about his deteriorating health, asserting that he is fit but feeling the effects of old age.

However, this incident follows a worrying pattern.

Last October, Mohadi collapsed during the Gutu West parliamentary by-election launch, leading to security personnel forcing journalists to delete videos of the incident.

Mohadi, who was campaigning for Zanu PF youth leader John Paradza, reportedly also collapsed at the University of Zimbabwe while delivering an Africa Day public lecture.

He struggled to stand and had to complete the lecture seated.

In a recent visit to check on Mathema’s recovery, Mohadi himself appeared frail.

Mathema, last seen in public two years ago, has been bedridden since then.

These health challenges are part of a broader pattern affecting Mnangagwa’s administration.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is also battling chronic health issues and frequently travels to China for routine medical check-ups.

The health crises among Mnangagwa’s top officials raise serious concerns about the stability and functionality of the current administration.

Cain Mathema Suffers A Stroke

By Political Reporter- Former Education Minister Cain Mathema has suffered a stroke, highlighting the frailty within President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inner circle.

Ailing Vice President Kembo Mohadi, who recently collapsed at a public event, visited Mathema on Wednesday and observed his recovery.

Mohadi stated, “I had just come to pay him a visit, I had not seen him for quite a while. I am happy that he is recovering very well, save for his left hand that is still weak. With exercise, he will recover. He is a prolific writer, he is still writing and has shown me some of his publications. We are talking about a hero of the liberation struggle and a hero in the literature world with over 25 books.”

Ambassador Mathema, last seen in public two years ago, has been bedridden since then.

His health challenges are part of a broader pattern affecting Mnangagwa’s administration, with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga also battling chronic health issues.

Varakashi Mock Joshua Maponga For Staying In Caves

By A Correspondent

Former SDA pastor and self-proclaimed philosopher Joshua Maponga has taken a unique approach to reconnect with his ancestors by living in caves and mountains.

This unconventional choice has drawn attention and criticism from various quarters.

On Wednesday, Zanu PF sympathisers known as Varakashi, scoffed at Maponga’s decision, particularly highlighting the current economic situation.

“Given the state of rent these days, I don’t blame Maponga for staying in caves,” Zanu PF Varakashi remarked, underscoring the challenges many face in urban living.

Maponga’s lifestyle choice raises questions about the intersection of spirituality and practical living, especially as economic pressures mount.

Maponga himself is a known Zanu PF apologist.

Hichilema Snubs Mnangagwa

By Business Reporter-The President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, has snubbed a summit hosted by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, opting instead to send his Tourism Minister, Rodney Sikumba, to represent him.

The Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) Summit, which is currently ongoing in Harare, is also being attended by the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi.

Nyusi arrived at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport this morning for the meeting.

The ZIMOZA TFCA is a significant step towards regional conservation efforts, despite the diplomatic friction overshadowing the summit.

Mnangagwa Kicks-Out Two Chinese Miners

By Crime and Courts Reporter- The government has deported two Chinese nationals who tortured two mine workers at Makanga Mine in Bindura.

The deportation of the two Chinese nationals follows a video that circulated on social media showing the worker tied up and hanging from a loader bucket.

ZimEye had also written extensively about the abuse of workers by Chinese nationals, including these two who have been deported.

Posting on his X handle, Information Secretary Nick Mangwana said:

“The two foreign nationals involved in this abuse depicted on a video that went viral were deported today (Wednesday).”

The Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) Wednesday had said they were incensed by the savage attack on the mine worker.

In a statement, ZMF said the barbaric act was a blatant violation of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, which guarantees the right to personal security and freedom from torture or cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment.
“We will not stand idly while our members are subjected to such egregious abuse. ZMF vehemently condemns this despicable act and demands an immediate arrest and prosecution of the responsible persons, thorough investigation into the mine’s labour practices and swift action against any violations, and adequate support and compensation for the victim,” reads part of the statement.
“We will not tolerate such blatant disregard for human rights and the rule of law. ZMF stands in solidarity with the victim and will fight tirelessly to ensure justice is served.”

Penny Penny Now Member Of Parliament For Zuma’s Party

Flamboyant artist Penny Penny is set to join the likes of Brian Molefe and Lucky Montana as representatives of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party in Parliament in the coming days.

The party’s chief whip in Parliament Sihle Ngubane has told Eyewitness News that the three would be joined by Siyabonga Gama.

He says the party is finalising administrative requirements in order to pave the way for the four to be sworn in

The three are disgraced former executives who have all been accused of aiding the state capture project.

Meanwhile, the musician quit the African National Congress (ANC) in the lead up to the elections. He complained about not being treated well in the former liberation movement.

Ngubane has defended his party’s reason for bringing the four to Parliament.

“That when white monopoly capital discards the professionalism of our people, thina we will always go and take them from wherever they are in the dustbin, clean them up, wash them up and put them back on the pedestal.

‘There is no ulahliwe (thrown away) in our culture, even in your family, you can make as many mistakes as you can, but your parents will never discard you as their kid,” said Ngubane.

Chinese Miner ‘arrested’ For Torturing Workers

By Crime and Courts Reporter- A Chinese miner has been arrested for allegedly torturing two workers at Makanga Mine in Bindura, Mashonaland Central Province.

The incident, which was captured in a video that went viral on social media, has sparked widespread outrage.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed they have identified both the suspects and the victims in the video.

This development follows coverage by ZimEye highlighting the abuse of Zimbabwean workers by Chinese nationals.

The video footage shows the Chinese miner tying up the two workers and suspending them in the air using a frontend loader.

He is then seen whipping the workers, accusing them of stealing an unspecified amount of diesel from the mine.

In a statement on Wednesday, the ZRP said a thorough investigation is underway to determine the full details of the incident.

“Reference is made to a video which went viral on social media platforms depicting two handcuffed complainants being lifted by a frontend loader at the instigation of two suspects at Makanga Mine, Hereford Farm, Bindura,” the ZRP statement read. “The ZRP confirms that the suspects and complainants have been identified in connection with the incident which occurred on 13/07/24. Investigations are in progress.”

The Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF), which represents miners across the country, has strongly condemned the actions of Chinese nationals. The ZMF described the incident as “appalling, vile, inhumane, and savage” and has called for the immediate arrest of the Chinese manager.

Mliswa’s ‘Little Girl’ Sister In Trouble?

By A Correspondent| Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairperson Mary Mliswa-Chikoka is in serious trouble amid revelations that a vote of no-confidence petition is circulating in the province with sources saying 27 out of 59 provincial executive committee members had already signed the petition.

The scheme, hatched a long time ago, was revived a few weeks ago when provincial secretary for administration Misheck Nyarubero wrote a letter without the blessing of other provincial executive committee leaders, castigating Mliswa-Chikoka for co-opting members into the executive without proper consultations.

“It was after this that PEC [provincial executive committee] members present in the new meeting started complaining about the unilateral appointments that the provincial chairperson Cde M Mliswa had made. PEC members started leaving the meeting venue, complaining about the main provincial co-options being null and void,” wrote Nyarubero to the party’s commissariat department.

This forced Zanu PF political commissar Munyaradzi Machacha to visit the province last week, where he rectified the anomaly by rescinding the co-options. Nyarubero said there was no need for the petition since Mliswa-Chikoka’s mistakes were corrected.

Zanu PF provincial spokesperson Nigel Murambiwa said there was talk of a petition against Mliswa-Chikoka being fronted by some party members within the province. “We urge all to be calm and shun divisions within party structures. Everything is going on well in our province, but you know, this is politics, anything is possible.”

“I heard about the petition, but that’s not my priority. I’m busy with party programmes, including the restructuring exercise. I do not want to concentrate on things that do not promote unity within the party,” she said.

Another Zanu PF senior member in the province, who preferred anonymity for fear of victimisation, said there were some politburo members allegedly pushing for the ouster of the politician. “It’s being instigated by some in the politburo, but unfortunately, it will not be supported by most members in the province. People cannot just wake up and say we no longer want the chairperson,” the member said.

Another member said it was tribalism at play as Mliswa-Chikoka is regarded to be from the Midlands province. “It boils down to tribalism. It’s to do with succession,” they said.

But, according to sources, some view Mliswa-Chikoka as too junior in the party to control the problematic province, referring to her as “a little girl,” while others said she is a “lioness of Mashonaland West” from her Shumba totem.

Bulawayo Businessman Accused Of Mine Asset Theft

By A Correspondent| SHENG AN Mining, a Hope Fountain-based mining company, has filed theft charges against Bulawayo businessman Mohamed Daka (47). Daka is accused of attempting to seize control of the company’s assets in collaboration with Dumisani Dube, who has already appeared in court.

The charges arise from an alleged attempt by Daka to take control of Sheng AN Mine’s assets. According to the complaint, Daka, in collaboration with Dumisani Dube (who has already appeared in court), planned to seize the mine despite Sheng AN being a distinct entity from the former Fools Investments.

On Wednesday, Bulawayo regional magistrate Shingi Mutiro heard that on February 3, 2022, the complainant officially changed its name from Fools Investments to Sheng AN Mining, as recorded by the Registrar of Companies in Bulawayo. Despite this change, the accused allegedly approached the Master of the High Court in Bulawayo in April 2024, falsely placing the defunct Fools Investments under Corporate Rescue.

Dube was appointed as the Corporate Rescue practitioner on April 24, 2024.

On May 2, 2024, Daka, who resides in Bradfield, and Dube allegedly sold an orange excavator, valued at US$281,750, to Simba Dumbura of Mutare for US$150,000. The excavator, leased to Sheng AN Mining from Rich Mark Zimbabwe, was intended to be permanently removed from the complainant’s control.

Police investigations led to the recovery of the stolen excavator on July 10, 2024, in Mutare. The excavator is now being used as evidence in the ongoing case. Authorities have secured acknowledgements of receipt for the cash transaction, with Daka signing as a witness. Witness statements confirm that the excavator did not belong to the now-defunct Fools Investments.

Daka was released on bail by Magistrate Mutiro after meeting the set conditions. The bail amount was set at US$500. Daka must remain at the address provided to the court and report to the ZRP’s Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) twice a week.

Yet Another Attempt On Third Term Seeking Mnangagwa’s Life

HARARE – A multi-agency investigation has been initiated after pilots flying President Emmerson Mnangagwa were allegedly targeted with ground lasers while approaching Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, ZimLive has learned.

The incident reportedly took place just before 7 PM on July 12 as the president returned from a trip to Mozambique aboard an Air Zimbabwe Boeing 737.

According to sources, the pilots reported being blinded by laser-like lights during their approach to the airport.

Authorities are treating the incident “very seriously” and have launched a multi-agency probe involving the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, the Air Force of Zimbabwe, police, and intelligence services.

Presidency spokesman George Charamba declined to discuss the exact nature of the threat, stating that doing so would “jeopardise investigations currently underway.”

“I can confirm the incident which has affected or menaced many other airports, foremost Gatwick in England. The misdemeanour has to be nipped in the bud,” Charamba said.

Investigators are also looking into whether there is a connection to recent unsolved break-ins at the private homes of the president; his son, David, and the offices of his nephew, Tongai Mnangagwa, during which nothing of value was stolen.

Shining a laser at airplanes, known as a laser strike, is widespread in Europe and the United States but there have been no previously disclosed incidents in Zimbabwe.

High-powered lasers can interfere with pilots, causing distraction, disorientation, or even temporary blindness during critical phases of flight. The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in a report released in January this year, stated that the highest number of laser strikes occur at low altitudes and at night when pilots are busy with take-off or landing procedures.

In 2023, there were 9,652 laser incidents below 10,000 feet, according to the FAA.

In the United Kingdom, where penalties for offenders can result in five-year jail sentences, just over 1,000 laser strikes were recorded, according to the British Airline Pilots Association.

Although there are no known airplane crashes caused by laser strikes, they can have medical consequences for pilots who are required for safety and health reasons to undergo an ophthalmology evaluation and take medical leave after such incidents.

Mnangagwa is currently in his second and final five-year term as president. However, his loyalists want him to stay on at least until 2030, which legal experts say would be unconstitutional.

Mnangagwa maintains that he will retire when his term ends in 2028, but many are unconvinced, citing his reluctance to quash the growing lobby among his supporters.

The uncertainty is reportedly causing consternation in Zanu PF, especially among supporters of his deputy Constantino Chiwenga, seen as his likely successor.

You Are Not Donors Against, MPs Warned

By A Correspondent| Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda says Members of Parliament have unnecessarily turned themselves into charity and social welfare officers for their communities against their roles set out in the country’s constitution.

He was addressing a combination of new and returning legislators during an induction seminar in Harare on Monday.

Legislators in Zimbabwe play three roles which are representative, legislative, and oversight during their five-year terms.

But when campaigning for seats, MPs usually make superfluous pledges to influence developmental and charity projects within their communities, things that do not fall under their purview.

By so doing, Chokuda said, MPs unnecessarily heighten expectation from their constituents to a point of being viewed as community benefactors.

“For the public, when they see an MP, they see a social welfare worker; they also see a funeral assurance body; they also see someone who is responsible for paying school fees for their children.

“But I think it’s important for the public to know that it is not your role. There are other government departments and structures responsible for that,” he said.

Chokuda said parliamentarians’ roles are legislative, representative and oversight based.

“Those are basically the mandate of parliament; not to pay school fees, not to bury people, not to fund graduation parties and so on.

“I know when you were campaigning, you may have promised people differently. You will have to deal with it, but these are your roles,” he said.

Speaking at the same occasion, Deputy Senate president Michael Nyambuya also said legislators were being ‘abused’ by their constituents through some ridiculous demands and expectations during their tenure.

“MPs are really being abused out there. For you to be an MP now, you really need to have resources and it’s not happening here only but in Nigeria, in Ghana,” he said.

Veteran legislator Irene Zindi, a Zanu PF senator, agreed that MPs were overwhelmed.

“Think of a situation where you have 10 or 20 people dying in a month in a constituency and the MP is expected to fund the funerals. This is when you end up hearing MPs with fraud cases trying to make ends meet,” she said.
