TWO women in Hwange are reportedly battling for life at a local hospital after being hit by stray bullets fired by police officers who were raiding informal coal traders.
The women who are neighbours were reportedly shot on Saturday evening as they sat outside their houses at A section in Madumabisa Village.
National Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:
“We are still investigating the unfortunate incident and will have more details tomorrow.”
However, eyewitnesses told Chronicle that the two women were chatting at their homes when Zulani Mudenda who had come from bathing was shot in the abdomen while her unidentified friend was hit on the breast.
“Two women were shot and injured by officers from the Support Unit stationed at Number 2 showgrounds who opened fire maybe to scare illegal coke traders during a raid. One of the women who were at the house at A section, Zulani Mudenda had her stomach ripped open while her neighbour was hit on the breast,” said a resident.
The raid was reportedly sparked by an increase in the number of people who are panning for coke at a disused mine dump following increasing demand from some coal merchants for the product. A 50kg sack of coke is bought by the merchants at US$3. One woman from the area recently died while another escaped death by a whisker when they fell into a tunnel before being buried alive while scrounging for coke at the dumpsite. They suffered burns and bruises following the mishap and had to spend weeks in hospital.
Residents through their association appealed for an investigation into the incident arguing that it had left them in a state of shock and fear.
“As residents we are saddened by the shooting of the two ladies and we call for a proper and comprehensive investigation of the matter. There should be no sacred cows,” said Greater Hwange Residents Trust co-ordinator, Mr Fidelis Chima.
Minister of Labour Thulas Nxesi has said that government was looking at a policy to limit the employment of foreign nationals.
South Africans can look forward to a bleak future on the job front after Covid-19 decimated the local economy, condemning many to the ranks of the unemployed.
Statistics SA shows an estimated 1.5 million people have lost their jobs in the past five months of lockdown. Unemployment has risen to 30.1%, from a high of 27.7% in February.
Furthermore, the SA Reserve Bank and National Treasury expect the economy to shrink by about 7%, which means job opportunities will shrink further for locals.
Some sectors of society have voiced dissatisfaction at the number of foreign nationals holding both unskilled and skilled positions in the country, while locals continue to bear the brunt of unemployment.
South Africans have in recent months flooded social media expressing anger, particularly towards the government, for employing foreign nationals in key state departments while locals with similar qualifications and, in some instances, more experience, are sidelined.
ANC activist Phapano Phasha is one of the most vocal against the employment of foreigners in government positions. She recently took to Facebook and said what was transpiring “smelled of white supremacy tactics”, adding that what is happening in South Africa needed to be addressed, even though the people doing so would be called xenophobic.
“We are the only country on the continent which has deployed foreign nationals from the continent in strategic positions of power. We have Zimbabweans, Kenyans, Ghanaians, and Nigerians running strategic departments in government. You can’t find South Africans running the show in such countries,” she wrote.
Phasha said the employment of black foreign nationals was not a coincidence because they are not regarded as black enough to act as agents of transformation.
“They are the most arrogant and gatekeepers of white privilege. They start as students at our universities, some come here as lecturers then get promoted to our SOEs (state owned enterprises) under the pretext of transformation. Now enough with this crap. Anyone who is against transformation is an enemy agent. We must deal with these characters because they are not Pan Africanist,” she said.
Another red flag raised was the issue of overseas recruits, with 11.2% of university permanent academic staffing made up of international scholars. The report of the Ministerial Task Team on the Recruitment, Retention and Progression of Black South African Academics, says out of that figure of 11.2%, the statistics show that 34% of the international academic staff in South African universities are from Zimbabwe and Nigeria, with Zimbabweans accounting for 25%.
At the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape and University of Venda in Limpopo, large numbers of the international academics are from Zimbabwe and Nigeria, while UCT and Wits appear able to attract academics from a much wider range of countries.
According to a 2017 study by the African Centre for Migration & Society, approximately 4% of people of working age (15-64 years) across the whole of South Africa were born outside the country.
The study found that foreign-born migrants have a higher rate of employment than South African migrants. It further stated that statistical and econometric digging into Stats SA data in 2014 compared the employment rate of foreign-born workers with that of South Africans, found this to be true and prevailing.
However, the migrants are also more likely to be employed in precarious work – or in the informal sector – than South Africans. This pattern is happening because many employers exploit foreign-born migrants’ willingness to accept more precarious work. Migrants also often hope to use precarious jobs as stepping stones to jobs in the formal labour market.
Minister of Labour Thulas Nxesi said the government was looking at a policy to limit the employment of foreign nationals and his department was in the process of developing a new “national employment policy” as it focuses on economic recovery post-Covid-19.
During a virtual parliamentary meeting on July 21, deputy minister Boitumelo Moloi said the policy will include new regulations around labour migration. As part of a larger project to develop a national employment policy, a labour migration policy development is being fast-tracked both to address immediate challenges, as in the road freight and logistics sector, as well as to co-ordinate labour migration policies with the southern region and continent- wide, she said.
Despite the proposed policy changes, the government continues to be tight-lipped on the exact number of foreigners it employs and the reasons why it employs them. Attempts to get comment were unsuccessful.
The Department of Home Affairs said it does not keep stats of such but merely enforces regulations emanating from the Department of Labour.
The Department of Labour passed the buck to the office of Public Service and Administration Minister, Senzo Mchunu, but there again, attempts to obtain comment were unsuccessful.
At the beginning of the year, IFP MP Liezl van der Merwe said the party wanted to propose legislation to ensure that a certain percentage or a certain quota for certain skills should go to people from outside the country who are in the country legally but the majority of the jobs should be reserved for South Africans.
She said it was looking at an 80:20 ratio, with businesses obligated to ensure that at least 80% of those employed were South Africans.
That issue is also part of former Joburg mayor Herman Mashaba’s new political party campaign strategy. He said the party has been in consultation with many South Africans who have indicated that the employment of foreigners was disadvantaging them.
Mashaba said one thing that has come out and which will be one of its policy offerings would be a skills audit of foreign nationals from 1994. He said it would look at how all of them obtained their citizenships and if they are here legally, the party will encourage that.
“Foreign nationals will only be allowed to work and live in South Africa if they are bringing a skill that is not available. This matter is not negotiable for us. Our Constitution is very clear on this matter. You can’t get citizenship if you don’t meet the requirements,” he said.
The Black Management Forum (BMF) said it supports the calls for more South Africans to be employed but that must not translate to the ostracising of Africans.
BMF president Andile Nomlala said the problem with the discussion around foreign nationals and employment always focuses on black Africans and disregards that white Europeans also hold senior positions in the country.
Nomlala added that if the country wants to deal with the issue of foreign nationals in critical positions, it must be in a holistic manner and include white Europeans.
“If you want to deal with the issue of foreign nationals, we have to be cognisant of the fact that they bring in skills,” he said.
Nomlala added that the African expatriates need to ensure they are not being used to suppress and bypass transformation.
“In the same breath, the whites who don’t want transformation prefer to employ Africans because they are expats, they don’t question the transformation programme. The Africans must not allow themselves to be used as a tool to circumvent transformation because they have less authority to engage on the matter.
“I support them being in positions as long as that doesn’t suppress the potential of locals. But there are intricacies that we need to deal with as individuals.
“As a top economy on the continent, are you not going to be able to attract and absorb skills and talent from the rest of the continent?
“We need to work with them to expand the footprints of our companies throughout the continent. You can’t say we can’t have a Nigerian when RMB has a branch in Nigeria.
“There are many South Africans who are on the continent because of the work they do,” he said.
He added that as much as he supports Africans being employed in South Africa, the issue of skills shortage must not be used as an excuse.
“We don’t have a skills shortage as a country. There are many qualified and competent black professionals in every field but the controllers of the economy and government don’t see good in each other. We are ready to bury our own on anything and embrace anyone who is not ours. Blacks are ready to bury each other,” Nomlala said.
This was late in 1979 at a preelection rally, just after the murder of his brother in law Gen Josiah Tongogara and the emerging pictures suggest Mnangagwa was a smiling happy man.

Lindiwe Zulu ANC Secretary for International Relations
South Africa’s ruling party, The African National Congress (ANC)’s Lindiwe Zulu has said their party cannot fold arms as the human rights and the economic deterioration in Zimbabwe continues. ..
Zulu was speaking during a virtual Governance Accountability Platform (GAP) discussion on “The ANC and Zimbabwe” that was being hosted by the Brenthurst when she said SADC had to deal with the Zimbabwean crisis in a different way:
We also think that Sadc needs to deal with this issue in a different way, it can’t be the same all the way of getting reports and reports and nothing being done…
Sadc should have to look into this in a different way and we believe as ANC we can work through other liberation movements; in fact when I finish this meeting, I am supposed to be talking to my counterparts in Mozambique, Angola and so forth.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, I can assure you that he is very much committed to resuscitating and looking at what we did in the past; what worked and what didn’t work and how we can approach it right now
Zulu acknowledged that there is a crisis in Zimbabwe despite the government’s claims that there is no crisis in Zimbabwe:
…These are the questions I am asking in order for us to deal with the situation.
Can we now move to asking ourselves the real painful questions before we get to the big issues?
We need to turn this much closer to ourselves for us to be able to deal with the situation which leads to the issue of the need of agreeing that there is a crisis in Zimbabwe because it doesn’t help us to be going under the table, disappearing and coming back; that is a fact.
The fact is if there wasn’t a crisis in Zimbabwe we wouldn’t be talking about what I have just said,
Zulu also said the continuous engagement between the two neighbours and the success they have had over the years was being eroded and they had to continue engaging with Zanu PF to find a solution to the Zimbabwean crisis:
I believe that whatever success was achieved during the period we are talking about, the last 20 years are being reversed; so we need to put the people at the centre. It cannot be about personal feelings and individual interests. As the ANC we must continue to engage with Zanu PF and it is about agreeing that there is a crisis.
The culture, ethos and values of the liberation were not just freeing the country from external occupation and racism. What we need to be asking ourselves is whether we are still on the correct path of what we fought for including human rights, economic and social freedom.
We therefore cannot be told that we are interfering in Zimbabwe,
We do believe that there is an opportunity for us once we agree that we need to be frank on dealing with the issues. They (political parties) must fix their internal dynamics so that when somebody else comes talking to Zanu PF and whatever is said is what it is.
In South Africa, for example, if we have a problem and people say just talk to ANC and you think you will be solving the problem, you will not be solving the problem.
It doesn’t matter how I feel about the EFF, the DA, that’s not the issue, the issue is that we need to engage with everyone and create a fair playing field.
The Zimbabwean government has refused to acknowledge that there is a crisis in Zimbabwe and it responds to anyone who subscribes to that narrative to the point of attacking some organisations like the Catholic Bishops after they pointed out the issue in a pastoral letter to the government.-Daily News
Farai Dziva|MDC Alliance vice president, Hon Tendai Biti has described Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s reconcilatory gesture as mere pretence meant to hoodwink the nation and the international community.

“On the day he locked up #Job he was in Bulawayo discussing Gukurahundi.

POLICE in Bulawayo have smashed what appears to have been a well-orchestrated fake foreign currency manufacturing racket, arresting a teenage girl and her boyfriend who were allegedly printing the counterfeit money.
Police expect to make more arrests as they say the syndicate could involve more people.
During a raid at a house where the couple stayed in North End, police recovered an assortment of fake high denominations of US dollars and South African Rand stashed under a mattress.
Police suspect that several unsuspecting people could have fallen prey to the fraudsters.
One of suspects, Chantelle Sibalwa (18) was arrested while trying to use a fake US$100 bill to buy a box of chicken at a local food outlet.
She led investigators to her boyfriend, Onesmus Zimunya (33)’s house where
US$2 265 and R1 700 in fake money, an HP Diskjet printer, bond paper, rulers and razor blades allegedly used in the commission of the crime were recovered. It is suspected the fraudsters could have been changing the fake money for real currency by buying stuff and getting change.
Cashiers at a leading supermarket last week reportedly told their superiors they had turned away a number of people who were trying to buy groceries with money they suspected was fake.
Police spokesperson for Bulawayo Inspector Abednico Ncube yesterday, said more people could be involved in the syndicate.
“I can confirm that we received and are investigating a case involving fake currency where equipment used to manufacture fake money was recovered. As police we suspect this could be a syndicate involving others and we expect to make more arrests as we continue with our investigations,” he said.
“We urge people to be extra careful and particularly when dealing with foreign currency. Illegal money changers are likely to be markets for such fake currency and those found dealing in illicit activities will face the full wrath of the law.” Chantelle and Zimunya are set to reappear in court tomorrow facing charges of possession of articles for criminal use. They made their initial court appearance on Friday and were remanded to tomorrow pending trial. They were released on $1 000 bail each.
Sources said Chantelle was arrested on Thursday last week after walking into a Chicken Inn outlet in the city centre and produced a fake US$100 note intending to buy a box of two piecer chicken.
“She entered the shop just like any other customer and ordered a box of two-piecer at Chicken Inn using a US$100 note, serial number KB74984746B. Upon payment, an alert cashier noticed that the money was fake and she immediately notified her shift manager,” said the sources.
A report was made to the police leading to Chantelle’s arrest.
“Upon being quizzed by police, Chantelle initially gave incoherent responses as she kept on changing her story before she eventually revealed that her boyfriend was involved in the scam of manufacturing counterfeit notes,” said sources.
She revealed to the police that her boyfriend had more fake notes at his place of residence including the machine used to manufacture the counterfeit notes.
Chantelle was taken to Bulawayo Police Station where detectives were assigned to conduct further investigations.
The girl accompanied the detectives to Zimunya’s house where they recovered US$1 200 comprising fake US$100 notes, four fake US$50 notes, 11 counterfeit US$10 notes, 13 fake US$5 banknotes and 17 fake R100 notes hidden under a mattress.
Police also recovered an HP Diskjet printer serial number CN442175TZ, bond paper, rulers and razor blades.
Last month, an illegal money changer in Bulawayo was duped of R23 000 by another illegal foreign currency dealer who had phoned him under the guise that he intended to change US$ 1400 at a local hotel.
However, after the deal had been concluded, the victim discovered that he had been given fake US$100 notes with the same serial number. -Chronicle

LANDS, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement Deputy Minister Vangelis Peter Haritatos who was recently on self-isolation after testing positive to Covid-19, has returned to work after recovering from the deadly disease.
Covid-19 has so far claimed more than 800 000 lives globally and infected more than 23 million people while more than 14 million have recovered. Zimbabwe has recorded more than 5 800 cases and 153 deaths and 4 629 people have recovered.
He tested positive for Covid-19 after being in contact with his former boss, the late Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri (Rtd) who succumbed to the Covid-19 virus last month.
Haritatos, who tested negative three weeks ago, on Friday took to social media and shared his experience.
He narrated how the past few weeks had been the toughest in his life.
Haritatos paid tribute to God for sparing his life and thanked his family for the support they gave him during the trying time. To fight the virus, he said he took Zithromax, Vitamins B, C and D and Zinc.
Haritatos said despite following the Government and World Health Organisation (WHO) health guidelines, he made one mistake, which ultimately resulted in him contracting the virus.
Haritatos said upon contracting the virus, he felt like something “evil” had entered his body.
“The coronavirus is real. The last few weeks have been the toughest in my life, I thank God for saving me and giving me the strength to fight an evil virus that has ravaged the world over,” he said.
“It was not an easy fight to overcome, but I thank God for blessing me with the family that I have. My beautiful wife and pillar of strength nursed me from the start. She ensured that I ate, took my medication, continuously hydrated, and most importantly that I stayed in a positive state of mind.”
He paid tribute to his children, parents, in-laws and siblings for supporting him when he needed it most.
Haritatos said after President Mnangagwa announced that the late national hero Air Chief Marshal Shiri (Rtd) had succumbed to Covid-19, he decided to put himself into self-isolation for the safety and security of his colleagues and family.
“Sadly, I too tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. This virus is real and we need to fight it by following the guidelines that our Government has given us which is in line with the WHO regulations. I followed everything to the comma and full stop, but I made one mistake, and that one mistake resulted in me contracting the virus,” he said.
Haritatos urged the generality of the people to adhere to stipulated regulations and measures put in place by Government to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
“Do not take off your mask when talking to people regardless of who they are. Protect yourself, protect your family, protect your friends, protect your colleagues, protect us all and help stop the spread of Covid-19. All it takes is one simple mistake, so you should be extra careful and do not take anything for granted. Before I got sick, I heard the saying that treat everyone as a potential threat, and that is exactly the case when it comes to this deadly virus,” he said.
“I knew that my work on earth was not complete. I knew that I still had to serve my people, fulfil my national duty, and make the difference through the mandate that was given to me. At 34 I still have a whole life to live, and I still have many years ahead of me to make a difference in this world, more importantly for our beautiful country.”
Haritatos said his 76-year-old father continued to run family businesses alongside his supportive mother without challenges.
The MP for Muzvezve in Mashonaland West, said during self-isolation, he relied on his dependable constituency co-ordinator to take care of all constituency issues.
“I remember messaging my co-ordinator to tell him the bad news, my message started with ‘please do not worry, but unfortunately, I have tested positive for Covid-19,’” he said.
“Our family doctor was truly unbelievable. I owe him my life. I am truly blessed to have the most amazing people around me. I prayed hard sometimes several times a day and my prayers were not so much for me, although when I did, I prayed for the strength to fight this virus.”
Haritatos said he also prayed to God so that his family and those who had come into contact with him while he was infectious did not contract the virus.
“I am so grateful to the Almighty, not one of my family members tested positive. You may ask why I didn’t pray so much for myself, and this is because I knew that my work on earth was not complete,” he said. -Chronicle
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire appeared in court on Saturday after being arrested following an incident on the island of Mykonos.
The England defender, 27, is on holiday in Greece.
The Syros prosecutor’s office said on Friday that “three foreigners” had been arrested after an alleged altercation with police officers on Thursday.
Maguire’s lawyer Konstantinos Darivas said he denies the allegations and the defender left court without comment.
Darivas added that he was “fully convinced he will be released without any charges” on Saturday.
Maguire joined United from Leicester for £80m – a world record fee for a defender – in August 2019.
“The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night,” United said in a statement on Friday.
“Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment.”
Greek police said in a statement officers had tried to break up an altercation between two groups outside a bar and that the three foreigners had then verbally abused and assaulted one of the officers.
The statement claimed that after arriving at Mykonos police station, the three arrested individuals then “strongly resisted, pushing and hitting three police officers” and that “one of the detainees tried to offer money so that the trial against them would not be completed”.
The police say a file has been opened which includes accusations of “violence against officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an official”.
It is not known specifically what Maguire has been accused of.

Mberengwa – A girl doing Form 3 at Chomusenda Secondary School in Mutata Village under Chief Mposi, Mberengwa was assaulted by a married woman recently after she allegedly approached a prophetess for a charm to break the latter’s marriage so that she could take over the husband.
It did not rain but poured for Sheila Hove (27) when Mberengwa Magistrate Evia Matura fined her RTGS$500 or 30 days in prison for assaulting her husband’s Form 3 girlfriend.
According to the State Hove discovered love messages between her husband Tonderai Zhou, (36) of Mutata Village under Chief Mposi, Mberengwa, and the girl who cannot be named for ethical reasons in the husband’s phone.
On July 11, 2020, Hove confronted the girl as she was going to fetch water and took away her phone before going through the messages.
She was shocked to find out that the minor was actually in communication with a prophetess and pleading with her to ensure that Hove loses favor in the eyes of her husband.
Hove assaulted the girl with fists and the complainant’s father reported the matter to the Police leading to the arrest of the Hove.
She expressed bitterness over the court’s ruling and told The Mirror that she survives and fends for her family by selling sweets and jiggies.
The fine imposed on her wiped away all her savings-The Mirror
By A Correspondent- In an incident that left employees and passengers’ shell- shocked a bus driver went berserk and assaulted a Zupco depot manager with fists before he violently pushed him to the ground.
The dramatic incident happened last Sunday at around 2pm at Zupco Khami Road depot in Bulawayo.
According to a source who declined to be named in fear of reprisals, Mehlokazulu Ndlovu (33), a bus driver went to the depot intending to refuel his vehicle.
When he arrived at the depot, he went straight to the manager Blessing Chikowore.
“He asked to refuel his bus but the manager told him that the fuel which was allocated to him should not have been used up as such he was supposed to do more trips which were proportionate to the amount of fuel that was allocated to him the previous day,” said the source.
This did not go down well with Ndlovu as a result a misunderstanding ensued between the two. The source said Ndlovu turned his boss into a punching bag.
“He punched him several times in the face. He bled profusely from the nose.
“The fists were too fast for him as a result he fell down. It had to take the intervention of another employee who restrained the marauding Ndlovu who was all over his manager,” said the source.
The manager, the source said, sustained injuries on the face.
A report was made at Mzilikazi Police Station leading to the arrest of Ndlovu. Chikowore was then rushed to a hospital.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident: “We would like to discourage members of the public to shun resorting to violence in an attempt to solve a misunderstanding. Violence has proved it leads to injury and sometimes loss of an innocent life.
“We therefore implore members of the public to engage third parties like public relations officers, human resources managers or counsellors so as to solve differences that could have arisen in the company,” he said.
Contacted for comment Mehlokazulu’s boss Thandolwenkosi Hlabangana said: “It was unfortunate but we are happy that the matter has been settled.”
Efforts to get a comment from Chikowore were fruitless.
A FIGHT over a black ball in a game of pool ended tragically after three men allegedly struck a Chipinge teenager last week.
Benjamin Mukwakwami (19) died upon admission at St Peter’s Mission Hospital in Chisumbanje after he had been struck several times all over his body by John Mlambo (23), Brighton Mureya (18) and Clemence Mureya (26).
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa confirmed the incident and said it happened at Tuzuka Business Centre, which is under Chief Musikavanhu’s area.
“Benjamin and his brother Munorweyi were playing pool while John, Brighton and Clemence were drinking beer.
“The black ball rolled towards John. He took it and hid it in his jacket,” said Inspector Kakohwa.
“Benjamin confronted John over the issue and a fight ensued.
Munorweyi tried to intervene but John’s friends — Brighton and Clemence — ganged up against Benjamin.
“John went away and came back brandishing a machete and struck Benjamin twice on the neck. A shop attendant, Alois Runawo, grabbed the machete and closed the shop,” said Inspector Kakohwa.
John, Brighton and Clemence then went home, while Benjamin and Munorweyi also retired to their home.

Farai Dziva|Respected Political analyst, Dr Stephen Chan has warned Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa to stop denigrating Roman Catholic Bishops as he will not win the battle against the clerics.
Mr Mnangagwa attacked Catholic Bishops for “abusing the pulpit”.
Mr Mnangagwa further accused the Catholic Bishops of advancing “a nefarious agenda meant to destabilize the peace in the country.”
However, Dr Chan has warned Mnangagwa to “stop digging while he is a hole.”
” There is a well-known adage: when you realise you’re in a hole, stop digging. To take on the might of the Catholic church is very daring but it runs in the face of another adage: choose the fights you can win.
The Catholic solidarity is widening. There was a time once when President Mugabe worked with Catholic Bishops to end the war in Mozambique.
His 1992 speech in Rome was about dialogue and reconciliation,” Dr Chan wrote on Twitter.

He also struck Munorweyi, who then managed to escape.
“As Benjamin was bleeding profusely, he was ferried to St Peter’s Mission Hospital. Unfortunately he died upon admission,” said Inspector Kakohwa.
John, Brighton and Clemence were arrested and are assisting police with investigations.
Inspector Kakohwa appealed to members of the public to desist from resorting to violence when solving their differences.

Victor Mpofu is using satire to shine a light on Zimbabwe’s political problems, reaching a growing audience despite living in fear of retribution from President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government.
Mpofu, aka Doc Vikela, has seen his followers on YouTube channel Simuka Comedy grow from less than 1,000 subscribers in January when he ventured into political satire to 23,000 now.
The 34-year-old father of two is among a generation of online stand-up comedians critical of government excesses.
Critics have accused Mnangagwa of reverting to the authoritarian tendencies of the Robert Mugabe era amid a worsening economic crisis.
In his skits, Mpofu assumes the character of Mnangagwa with a trademark colourful scarf, at times mocking some of the president’s decisions.
“What we are simply saying is that there are problems. These problems we are highlighting through our content. We say ‘do you feel we should continue going on like this’?” he said.
Critics, including church leaders and lawyers, have accused the government of using the Covid-19 pandemic to trample on human rights and of abducting and torturing opponents. The government denies the accusations.
Mpofu says his comedy work is difficult “because you have the fear of disappearing, you have the fear of being abducted.”
“You don’t know whether your content will touch on the right nerve or wrong nerve so you always live in fear,” he said.
In one skit, Mpofu, speaking as Mnangagwa, justifies naming his deputy Constantino Chiwenga as health minister citing his admission into foreign hospitals as experience for the job.
With inflation running at 837.5 percent, unemployment above 80 percent and a collapsing public health sector, Zimbabweans are angry.
“So it is important for us to pack this into satire instead of (people) drowning in depression, drowning into sorrow,” said Mpofu. “We give them humour, sometimes it’s good to laugh.”
By A Correspondent- Newly-appointed Energy and Power Development Minister Soda Zhemu has for the first time spoken about his appointment and shared his vision for his newly acquired government job.
Zhemu was appointed to replace Fortune Chasi who was fired by President Mnangagwa a few weeks ago. Speaking to the publication, Zhemu said he would push President Mnangagwa’s vision by ensuring that there was energy in the country:
Obviously issues to do with electricity, energy and power are very critical. The President has enunciated the vision where we are looking at adequate and sustainable power generation. Obviously we will have to follow what has been put forward by the President in order to achieve the vision.
I know certainly people are interested to know about issues about power because they are key enablers towards the achievement of Vision 2030. Talk of agriculture, mining, all the processes that we are looking at as a nation, power is a prerequisite. I will work harder to ensure that the vision is achieved but obviously it is a process.
Electricity issues have improved since the lockdown began in March. With ZRA also acknowledging that water levels at Kariba Dam have been stable for sometime.
By A Correspondent- Addressing party members at Davies Hall in Bulawayo Saturday, Zanu Pf’s National Political Commissar, Victor Matemadanda scoffed at organisers of the 31 July demonstrations saying it was only a social media fuss and nothing more.
Said Matemadanda:
“There was a demonstration planned for 31 July 2020, it was only noise from the Twitter brigade and absence of actual people on the ground. Those who organised the demonstrations then addressed the nation saying they did not want to have an actual march but wanted the country to shut down and considered their plan as a ‘success’.
But now we are seeing the Americans saying there are abuses of human rights as people did not take to the streets, how, when the organisers said they had successfully launched a demonstration.”
By A Correspondent- Suspected fortune-seeking gold panners (Makorokoza) reportedly dug up a grave in Esikhoveni area in Umzingwane District, Matabeleland South Province.
The gold panner reportedly left the bones of the dead man scattered all over after they were reportedly told he was buried with a treasure which includes gold.
The incident that took place in the dead of the night was discovered by a passerby who reported the incident. The incident was confirmed by ZRP Matabeleland South spokesperson Chief Inspector Philisani Ndebele who said:
It is true that there is a case of that nature where suspected gold panners dug a grave believed to be a white man’s in search of gold. The dug-up grave was discovered by a local villager and a report was made to the police. We are treating the case as tampering with a grave but no arrests have been made so far. Investigations are still in progress
The District Development Coordinator, Mr Peter Mahlatini said the grave had been there for close to 7 decades and there had been a myth in the community that the white man who was buried there was buried with treasure:
The grave is not in a homestead. It is close to a functional mine and according to the village head – a Mr Mabhena it belonged to a white man who died around 1949. The gold panners could have believed the long-held community myth that the white man was buried with his treasure including gold or could have used their detectors and whatever they (detectors) told them, they could have followed that. After consultations with the relevant stakeholders we re-buried the remains on Wednesday.
No arrests have been made so far and the bones were reburied by the community.

By A Correspondent- When COVID- 19 struck Zimbabwe’s schools calender, Kranzipiyo Chibaya’s colleagues were already in grade 3 when he was just starting ECD.
Aged 9 years Chibaya’s eyes light up as he confidently tells of his dream career.
“When l grow up l want to be a driver.”
Quizzed further on why becoming a driver is very important to him, he continued:
“I want to drive a lorry that will ferry people to and from my home area into the city. My parents are both farmers and I would feel super happy if I was able to help them ferry their farm produce to Harare for resale. There are very few lorries in my area and I know it is also because there are very few drivers in my neighbourhood.”
His father’s eyes fills up with tears, but he smiles while looking at his son before he intervenes:
“He is a very focused young boy and he knows he has a lot of catching up to do.”
Narrating why his son started attending Mayema primary school in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe 4 years later than his peers, Kranzipiyo’s father Chengetai Chibaya told ZimEye that he decided that this was the best option for his son.
“I had reservations taking my son to school at a time when his colleagues started ECD because of his condition. He still wears nappies or diapers. But no, it’s not because he wets himself or is not able to use the toilet, He has a condition called cystostoma.”
The condition is such that an individual is unable to empty his or her bladder appropriately. It can be treated through urethral catheterization.
However, if urethral cathetization is either undesirable or impossible, suprapubic cystostomy offers an effective alternative.
Stuck In Diapers
Cystostomy is the general term for the surgical creation of an opening into the bladder; it may be a planned component of urologic surgery or an iatrogenic occurrence.
Added Chibaya, who hails from village Mareva under chief Nyajuna: “My son needs help to rectify his condition. Part of the process was initiated by a Harare doctor but he is now stuck in diapers since 2012.”
He narrated his son’s journey with cystostoma.
Born on 8 August 2011, Chibaya told ZimEye that Kranzipiyo was healthy like any other new born baby. Trouble started when he turned six months old and the new parents discovered that their son would cry non- stop.
“Initially, we just thought that he was having teething problems only to discover that our son was being troubled by something. The challenge was we could not figure out what it is. We took him to our local clinic and he was treated but he never stopped crying.”
The Chibayas said Kranzipiyo started losing weight and that is when they knew that something was terribly wrong with their son.
“We consulted prophets from our church but the situation never improved. We then went back to our local clinic but nothing changed.”
Chibaya said his wife Tambudzai Bandera noticed that their son was not wetting his nappies for days and took their son back to the local clinic and explained this to the nurses.
“We explained that he was not wetting his nappies and they referred us to Mutawatawa hospital in Murehwa. He got no treatment for two days and we requested that he be discharged. Initially, they refused but they later agreed.
Specialist Care
The couple took their ailing minor to Parirenyatwa Group of hospital where they were told that their son needed specialist care. They were referred to Harare hospital.
Said Chibaya:
“We stayed there for two full months from June and July. My son was admitted in the children’s ward. He was only attended to by junior doctors. We almost gave up and was at that point where we were contemplating going back home.”
Chibaya said lady luck was on his side a day before he wanted to call it quits and ask to be discharged from hospital. The only available specialist doctor “bumped” into his son.
He said:
“The doctor was doing the rounds on that particular day when we had lost all hope and were about to go home and that is when we were advised that our son would be taken into theatre for the operation. Finally, we were so happy that he would get help. True to the doctor’s word, the procedure took less than an hour and our son was back from theatre.”
Cystoscopy, the procedure to redress cystotomy is a simple procedure that may in some instances involve the closure of the outer layer of skin with sutures or surgical staples. However, these sutures or surgical staples may need to be removed in about 10 to 14 days.
The procedure according to medical practitioners takes about 45 minutes to 1-1/4 hours to perform in most cases, including the needed time for preparation and anesthesia.
Added Chibaya:
“We were told to come back for a review after two weeks and the doctor was happy with the progress and recovery process.”
But it has been almost 8 years now since his son underwent this corrective surgery.
Health experts recommend that cystostoma patients should clean the cystostomy site and skin around it daily.
Stalemate
They recommend that one should wash their hands before and after cystostomy care. It is suggested that one should change their suprapubic catheter when needed.
“Water is a problem but we get by. We cannot afford the urine bags so our son has always used cloths, baby nappies or sometimes pampers when we travel. We try and keep them dry but it is a problem because sometimes the urine just comes out and Kranzipiyo cannot control it.”
Chibaya told ZimEye that he has since 2012 failed to have his son’s condition rectified because the specialist doctor who performed the corrective surgery on his son is now based in Chiredzi.
“I have visited Harare central hospital several times but it seems there is no specialist doctor to help my son. I was advised that no one can help me at Harare Central Hospital.
I engaged the doctor who performed the initial surgery and they expressed willingness to help me. They however revealed that they do not have the equipment to perform the surgery in Chiredzi. The equipment is only at Harare hospital. So it’s a stalemate.”
Chibaya said he was referred to a private doctor who required US$300, money which he has failed to raise.
“I hardly make US$20 and I am now stranded. I fear that my son may never be able to be a man if he continues like this. It is also affecting him psychologically because he is realising that he cannot use his male organ like every other boy.”
Torn
The father of 6 said he survives on farming at his rural home.
“I can do general hand work, but I cannot raise the required US$300. My mother passed on last year and it has always been problem after problem.”
Chibaya said he wished Zimbabwe had a functional health care system.
“My son’s health, his future is at stake. It tears me apart to watch him struggle daily. He is growing up and I feel that I am letting him down, the country is letting him down. He deserves a chance.”
Zimbabwe’s health care system has been in “intensive care unit” according to the Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZINA) president Enock Dongo.
“Year in and year out, the Ministry of Health has been experiencing strikes by healthcare workers over poor salaries and poor working conditions, a sign that the structures are not functioning well.”
For more than a month, 15 000 nurses have been on strike over salaries which they say have been eroded by galloping inflation. They are demanding US$ salaries and improved working conditions.
Nurses and doctors have since deserted hospitals and health care facilities turning them into white elephants.
The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the situation.
“Service delivery has been affected and all health-care services…obstetric, dialysis, acute medical and surgical, and chronic HIV care is reeling from the effects of the pandemic,” Rashida Ferrand, director of the Zimbabwe–London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Research Partnership, based at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare is on record saying.
The newly appointed health care minister Constantino Guvheya Chiwenga is on record pleading with health care workers to return to work adding that government was addressing their grievances.
Said Chiwenga:
“We are working hard to improve our health delivery system at ward, village, district, province up to referral institutions. We are strengthening our system so that people can access medication easily.
“Our health workers are on strike. We are encouraging them to return to work so we that we can save lives. While we are aware of their grievances, they should also consider saving lives. We are not blind to your issues. We are working hard to assist, but you should also consider lives of patients.”

The Mid Term Monetary Policy Statement from the Reserve Bank is well worth a read. This is the first overall review following the formation of the Monetary Policy Committee in August 2019. I was privileged to be a Member during the period covered by the report.
Yesterday I got a call from a group of young Zimbabwean professionals in the UK and I was struck by something they said to me in their opening remarks. They said, “we can do little about the toxic politics of our country, but we can do something about the economy”. I suddenly realised that that is exactly where I am at this time in our history.
A few highlights from the MPS. Firstly, the stability on the foreign exchange market since the adoption of the foreign exchange auction in June. This was advocated by the MPC from its inception and after a couple of failed attempts, the President stepped into the ring and told us to stop messing around and get it done. It was implemented in a week. 9 weeks have followed and the Auction with its price discovery mechanism, has stabilised a market that was simply running away with itself. In fact, in the past two weeks we have seen a slight, but significant shift, in that we have been able to put enough money on the market to meet demand in full and exchange rates have strengthened.
We have argued for nearly a year now that the fundamentals do not support the exchange rates that are being demanded in the informal markets. While the auction has demonstrated that, the rates are still way above what they should be and if we were able to put more money on the table, the prospect is that the rates would strengthen radically. I think there are many in the country who now recognise that reality and many express concern. If you have been buying US dollars on the street to protect value at 110 to 1 and the rate is now 90 to 1 because of the auction, you have lost a considerable sum of money. What if it goes to 40?
It is my view that the Reserve Bank will have to consider buying hard currency off the market if rates collapse, to hold exchange rates at a level that will maintain our international competitiveness and stabilise the economy. Wild swings in rates serve no one.
The second development that is covered in the MPS is data that shows we were right to clamp down on the electronic money trading systems that had developed over the past decade but were now being used to buy hard currency at unjustifiable rates. It is one thing to be able to use your phone to send a Z$1000 transfer to your family, or to pay staff, it is quite another to transfer a hundred million dollars to a money transfer agency and instruct them to buy hard currency for you.
We have said that the inflation being experienced in 2020, is quite different from the hyperinflation era from 2004 to 2008. The latter was due to the reckless printing of money by the Reserve Bank. The inflation we have seen since July 2018 is due to the depreciation of the local currency. That was unavoidable in the early days as we had to adjust local values and incomes so that they more accurately reflected real economic factors. However, the process engendered images of what happened in 2004/8 and in anticipation of a repeat process, people tried to convert their new local currency balances into USD at any cost. In the rush, the informal sector drove exchange rates to 125 to 1 and on the stock market the Old Mutual rate went to 135 to 1. The fundamentals do not support those numbers in any way. Speculation and panic drove the rate. The retail sector, faced with the need to replenish stocks simply followed the rate in their pricing.
It is said that prices adjust upwards rapidly but are “sticky” downwards. Even so the reduction in inflation month on month in July and expected in August signals that by the end of the year we should be back into single digit inflation month on month and that 2021 will see a resumption of low inflation and steady prices and exchange rates. My own view is that we need a weak currency and I would not be in favour of allowing the exchange rate to strengthen too much.
The third aspect of the MPS that I noted was that we are maintaining and even strengthening both our fiscal and balance of payments surpluses. The former largely because of inflation, because economic recovery is still not underway, the latter because our exports and foreign inflows are up by 17 per cent and our expenditures are down by 6 per cent. Strengthening our positive balance of payments for the third year in a row is quite an achievement after all those years of fiscal delinquency.
The growth in exports reflects the fact that we are, once again, regionally competitive and are able to export into global markets on a profitable basis. This comes at a time when commodity markets are all reflecting some stability and even modest growth after the markets fell to very low levels in 2018/19. This improves the outlook for our economy which is still largely dependent on primary product industries. It’s time for industry to step up to the plate and to start exploiting these new opportunities. It is also the time for new FDI.
Finally, there is the continued growth in the electronic banking and transfer industry. In June 2020 we finally broke through the trillion-dollar barrier in terms of the value of transactions in Zimbabwe dollar terms. We effected, as a country electronic transfers in 12 months of Z$1,029 billion dollars. Even at 80 to 1, this is still US$13 billion. If we assume that the real value of the local currency is 40 to 1, this doubles the hard currency value of these transactions. It means we are trading Z$3 billion every day. When people say we are dollarising I point to these numbers and suggest that they completely dwarf the transactions taking place in hard currency.
The figures are fascinating and point to the changes taking place in our world. Changes which constitute both opportunity and potential problems. 54 per cent were in TRGS transaction via the Banks, only 6 per cent were in the form of local electronic card transactions, mobile phone transactions were 22 per cent of all transactions – 40 per cent of the transactions via the Banks. The average Bank transaction on the RTGS system was Z$50 000, the average mobile phone transaction was Z$117.
With the changes taking place in global markets and technologies, we can expect this growth in electronic money to grow even faster into the future. Cash is basically finished as a means of exchange. It also means that your average bank will simply be a machine in a room – possibly thousands of kilometres away. It also points to changes in global settlements from the traditional bank transfers via the Swift system to block chains that move money in micro seconds at almost no cost. This will strip the USA of perhaps their most effective weapon in global markets and political relations – the USD itself.
But what it has also shown us in the period covered by the MPS is that with this growth comes the need to know what is going on and understanding the implications and to regulate these new markets and systems more effectively. The decision of the Reserve Bank to extend the coverage of the electronic monitoring of the Banks and their millions of transactions every day to the new players in the market, is a sound decision and is essential to the management of the new era that is starting to open up in global markets.
Now it is time to review our tax system to take advantage of this electronic revolution and to bring our tax authorities into the 21st Century.
Walter Mzembi, Zimbabwe’s former Minister of Tourism has claimed that the governing ZANU PF is being run by the military since 2017 when the late former president Robert Mugabe was removed from office.
Zanu PF iParty yemasoja who usurped a civilian-led Party in Nov 2017 & defaulted to High Command Military ZANLA politics of the 1970s! There is NO political formation that can answer it’s current Military construct!
Following a Chinese script they are now creating” loyal opposition ” whose presence in Parliament they are now facilitating. Communist China unbeknown to many has Opposition Parties but vetted as loyal to the State. Polad is the Zim version of this model.
I anticipated that commentators would be immediately tempted to compare pre and post Coup Zanu PF leadership models and condemn them as the same but clearly the gun is now leading politics in broad daylight and that is the curse in our midst!
I attach evidence of contestations for the control of Zanu PF btwn Civilians & the Military – Joint Operations Command Minutes on 2013 Parliamentary Candidates, this is well before the advent of G40 as you know it! Read carefully
None of the Civilian Candidates listed together with @waltermzembi survived the exercise described by the Military as they must be ” STOPPED” except an obscure MP Musakwa, Chindori Chininga died. My point intraparty fights against the Military were real!
Why didn’t you disclose all these? Because you are no longer part of the system? Apologise!!!!
Because I had no access to the minutes and what should I be apologising for, I have paid a much greater price than most of you for opposing the man you all cried for to come back and rule! Who should be apologising for lack of judgement and foresight?

BY Dr Masimba Mavaza | Politics becomes brutal and bruising as enemies attack Cde Victor Matemadanda the Deputy Minister of Defence and ZANU PF’s National Political Commissair. Comrade Matemadanda has been accused of impregnating Mr Kaseke’s wife. Mr Kaseke is currently on Wheelchar.
A whatsapp message was circulating with no author saying, “Zanu PF national political commissar Victor Matema Damba impregnates Bety Nhambu Kaseke the wife of Karikoga Kaseke former ZTA CEO. Matemadanda and Kaseke were very close before, during and after the coup time.
“It was Kaseke who used to provide accommodation at rainbow towers to Matemadanda and Mutsvangwa when they were fighting Mugabe. Matemadanda took Betty from Kaseke after Kaseke fell ill, he is now wheelchair bound.
“This is the type of leadership we have in Zimbabwe and we expect these people to fix our political and economic quagmires.”
Cde Matemadanda commented saying, “I have no time for detractors. I am a principled man and i can never go down that low to defile my body with such human endurance. I have a great task for my President My Party and my nation. I do not want to dignify such street talk from people who want to slow down my work.”
In a serious tone Cde Matemadanda said “ we are a few years from 2023. My focus is on winning the elections for my president, my party and all ZANU PF MPs. “
He added “ I am Victor not only by name but in purpose. “
I am aware of some scrupulous people who tried to smuggle some CVs for the DCCs and I stood by the due process and the constitution of the party. By standing resolute I created a lot of friends and enemies. As a result I get a lot of mudslinging and accusations which baseless”
A false allegation of sexual abuse is an accusation that a person committed one or more acts of abuse when in reality there was no perpetration of abuse by the accused person as alleged. Such accusations can be brought by the alleged victim, or by another person on the alleged victim’s behalf. Zimbabwe had seen a lot of false accusations of sexual abuse. This system is extortion and must not be taken slightly.
Looking at the false allegations in Zimbabwe most of the allegations determined to be false, most false allegations originated with an adult bringing the accusations for political milage.
Another possible motive is malice by the person making the allegation against the accused person.
So the allegations against the NPC are coming from people who went to the NPC urging him to reject some CVs for contesting in the DCC but the NPC refused because they did not have any evidence of any wrong doing thus he could not disqualify any one without proof of misconduct. The procedure in ZANU PF is that screening is done by the security department. So those who do not understand the procedure blame the NPC when their CVs are rejected.
Cde Matemadanda is aware of the people who are involved in smearing his character. He said “I want to warn those who are deciding to drag my name in the mud that their time will come”
A number of people interviewed about this case have stated that many laddies love Matemadanda and try to win him over to them. But he has proved to be an upright man who does not need foul play.
Comrade Matemadanda said he has instructed his lawyers to look into the case of defamation of character. If there are prospects of success he will be suing whoever is in a team to soil his name.
Comrade Matemadanda said “todays politics is no longer a dirty game. Politicians do not have to play dirty in order to get recognition. “
The allegations have spread about Mr Matemadanda’s below the belt activities. This he denied with all the contempt it deserves.
It emerged that those people who were trying to build a case against Matemadanda were close to Mr Savanhu and Mrs Nyazema. They are actually a team on the mission their aim is to bring down ZANU PF leaders and they are said to be compiling evidence against the targeted leaders.
Comrade Matemadanda said “these people will fail and I will not be stopped from serving my country by idiots who think they can hold me at ransom. Regai vauukure isu tichifamba nendima.”
Mrs Kaseke when contacted expressed shock and said “we have gone through a lot as a family and we do not need this nonsense.“
Talking about Mr Matemadanda, Cde F Sibanda said “ I have realised that in politics you do not need faint hearted people.
“People throw every dirty at you some do not even care what happens along the way.
“Can you imagine what goes through the mind of the Kaseke family. People must learn that words out of your mouth can never be controlled. So we need to control our words before they are let out.”
Another, Cde Roberty Shanduka said, “people need to consider others. Behind Matemadanda there is a family, there are humans too. They must not be part of this mudslinging. “
Here was a self-proclaimed man of God embracing the mutually assured destructive path of biblical strongman Samson of the Temple.
There was an assured confidence of a defiant loser.
On what nuclear option weapon was he standing upon?
For the answer, dial Biti, his vice president of revolving MDC doors and a darling of the intrusive Washington neo-liberal practitioners of regime change in Zimbabwe.
Boasting of his legalistic command of complex financial matters, he gloated, “Mnangagwa can rig elections, but he cannot rig the economy!”
Why such political prancing by the two ambitious MDC stalwarts?
They were relying on the permanency of the colonial corporate economic template installed by Cecil John Rhodes, the 19th Century British imperial marauder and predator.
His British South Africa Company (BSAC) raised the British flag in Salisbury as an agent and not a department of the Crown.
His company became the de facto governing authority of Southern Rhodesia.
Gold allure
Prior to this dark act, Zimbabwe had existed continuously as a successful trading entity for millennia, courtesy of its legendary gold endowments.
Through history, gold has distinguished itself as the global currency of supreme choice of all humanity.
If other nations worked hard to produce goods to trade, Zimbabwe possessed the ultimate money — gold.
No wonder Indian monsoon winds had Arab dhows plying between the ports of the Munhumutapa and various trading centres along the littoral Indian Ocean.
Turkey, Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Somalia, Iran, India, Indo-Malay and even far-away China all conducted commerce first with Mapungubwe, later with Great Zimbabwe, Khami, Danamombe and others.
The BSAC corporate governing authority lost no time in displacing the freely interchangeable gold currency with fiat paper money.
The Rhodesian dollar was there primarily to cater for the growing white-settled minority community.
The indigenous majority were dispossessed of the precious historical gold mines by “blanket explorers”, hence the enduring name of Blanket Mine.
These were white settlers who bought blankets on the Rand of South Africa.
They then used the blankets as compensation to the indigenous African owners of robbed gold mines.
The marauding new white owners went back to register their newly possessed mines with the mining commissioner at the BSAC headquarters in Johannesburg.
The brisk trade in blankets earned them the moniker “blanket explorers” of Rhodesia. The template of an economy built upon plunder could not entertain the free interplay of supply and demand in the colonial territory.
It naturally defaulted to allocation so as to engender the outflow of money from the black African majority to the company’s coffers.
The unjust enrichment was then shipped out to London, New York and other European metropolises of global banking and finance.
It is noteworthy that the new colony lost no time in setting up a stock exchange in Mutare.
This was in proximity to the Manica headquarters of King Mtasa on the Mozambique side.
He superintended a thriving gold market or feira, which both imperial Lisbon and London envied.
Haemorrhage
This precursor to the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange had a lop-sided imperial design to transfer riches out of Africa to Europe.
Is it not remarkable that in the 140 years of the ZSE it only started trading in convertible hard currency as recently as 1993?
More sinister that a financial services company that started off as a department of finance of BSAC went on to slyly ask for selective and exclusive fungibility of its counter.
Sadly, the poverty in sound grasp of financial theory in the post-independent African majority rule government obliged.
Presto, the arrangement effectively converted the ZSE into a parallel and competing monetary authority challenging the central bank (Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe).
There would be near-fatal consequences to this financial and monetary skulduggery of selective fungibility.
It facilitated a capital flight of haemorrhage proportions worse than that of nations plunged into war.
The deceptive arguments for fungibility were exposed as capital-starved Harare began remitting hard currency to rich London, Johannesburg, New York et cetera.
The wholesale divestment would trigger stratospheric hyperinflation.
By 2008, the velocity of money circulating in the Zimbabwe national economy would eclipse even the fastest speed of light.
This physical impossibility could only have come from number-crunching by a dedicated numbers machine called a calculator.
This calculator was owned by the gamut of neo-liberal global finance figures, including George Soros.
They concocted a stock derivative called Old Mutual Implied Rate, an Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) run from Boston Massachusetts.
Here is the paradox of paradoxes: How does the basket case economy of Zimbabwe afford to sustain an ETF that traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)?
Yes, that trillion-dollar global behemoth of raising investment capital.
For those who have read global finance beyond lawyer Biti, I dare you to check out BrightSphere Investment Group Inc (BSIG).
It was baptised out of Old Mutual Asset Management Company (OMAM).
This re-christening was necessitated by the political change in Zimbabwe as of November 2017.
BSIG Inc is the one that has historically derived obscene gains from the arbitrage opportunity offered by OMIR-ETF.
This ETF financial derivate stemmed from the multiple listing of the Old Mutual Plc share in London, Johannesburg, Nairobi and Windhoek.
Professor Steve Hanke of Johns Hopkins University and a fundi of the emerging markets at the neo-liberal Cato Institute had privileged knowledge of this ETF debauchery in global finance which was be-knighting Zimbabwe.
Hanke used to crow about his influence on a former Governor of the central bank in Harare. After the 2017 November Glorious Revolution, he changed tack.
He did not like Professor Mthuli Ncube.
It turned for good reason.
He had the economic and financial tools that pierced this veil of wayward conduct in global financial management by the Zimbabwe Government.
The OMIR-ETF brought Zimbabwe down to its economy knees through unbridled capital flight. Yet it could still not achieve the ZDERA sanctions goal of a ‘screaming’ economy delivering political regime change. Zimbabwe turned out not to be the Chile of Salvador Allende in the 1970s.
A strong State apparatus kept the populace insulated through the offsetting land restitution programme.
It offered the social safety vest of an informal economy.
The other saviour was the high human resource index of Zimbabwe, again owed to the same State apparatus begot of the 1970s national liberation war.
Mobile money woes
The national economic assault from the OMIR-ETF derivative acquired a new ally in the emergence of a dominant player in the new era of digital currency.
An absence of a requisite regulatory framework through both ignorant commission and wilful commission created a véritable Wild West in the banking and monetary domain.
The mobile money platform morphed into a den of thievery, extortion, money laundering and outright extortion.
The ensuing monetary malfeasance went on to strike at the heart of the consuming populace.
Undoubtedly, there was glee that the people could finally be divorced from their ZANU PF party of the revolution.
That is why so much was banked into the success of the July 31, 2020 uprising.
People’s anger was to be fed by a return to the 2008 hyperinflation.
This time the twin evils of OMIR-ETF derivative and wholesale abuse of the mobile money platform were slated to foment public outrage against the Government of His Excellency President Mnangagwa.
Both ZSE and EcoCash had diabolically usurped the statutory role of the RBZ as sole national monetary authority.
Little did the would-be nemesis of the Head of State realise that he had strategically arranged a phalanx of tools to counter their do-or-die onslaught.
As July 31, 2020 approached with its heralded mayhem, President Mnangagwa unleashed the first volley.
He allowed trading in the US dollar.
That took away the pressure of inflation from the Zim-dollar, which was under attack.
He also loosened US dollar retention by the central bank.
Suddenly small to medium gold producers, tobacco and cotton farmers had so much buying power in hard currency.
The other masterstroke was the publication of a statutory instrument that delivered blows on the ungodly twins of the OMIR-ETF derivative and the EcoCash mobile money agents.
The coup de grace was the launch of the Dutch auction on a new foreign exchange market.
Now going to the week 10, the RBZ auction has since been broadened to include small businesses.
Highway to success
The Zimbabwe economic management “Dream Team” of the His Excellency President Mnangagwa — Professor Mthuli Ncube as the Minister of Finance and Dr John Mangudya as Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe — is en route to deliver a game-changing economic miracle.
Relieved and delighted top business moguls are gushing accolades on the President.
Rightfully so.
He has rendered a jab that is a shot in the arm to the juices of entrepreneurship.
Professor Hanke has since gone quiet.
No more gloating verbal salvos against Professor Mthuli Ncube.
Dr John Mangudya now has a new spring in his step.
The Zimbabwe nation has coalesced into genuine and stable price discovery.
Parity pricing now reigns between the Zambezi and the Limpopo, between the Kalahari Desert and Eastern Highlands.
After all, every central banker’s cardinal goal is to maintain price stability.
Zimbabwe has joined the global ranks of a ‘normal’ economy for the first time.
It is being run on Adam Smith’s laws of supply and demand.
Requiem to the corporate colonial template and its band of arbitrary allocation.
Eulogy to a free market economy that rewards hard work, reaps profit to business acumen and crowns risk with mouth-watering returns.
President Mnangagwa’s mantra “Zimbabwe Is Open for Business” has acquired a potent and cogent expression.
Welcome to on-ramp onto the highway to the middle-income status Zimbabwe by 2030.
Sorry Chamisa, the dira jecharist. Zvakona! Mutakura wotonakisa.
Pity to Biti. EDM has gone so far as to rig the economy.
As for detractors and doomsayers, ZDERA sanctions now face a potent weapon in a normalised economic and financial landscape.
Crisis Coalition Zimbabwe, take heed, Naledi Pandor, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, never mentioned the C-word.
Your years of campaign to place Zimbabwe on Chapter 7 of the United Nations Security Council has dismally flopped.
SADC and the AU will not entertain the errant diplomatic nonsense.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Revolution continues to strive and thrive.
Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
All 54 countries on the continent have been affected by the highly infectious COVID 19, with over 1.1 million cases and and 27,000 deaths according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
There have been allegations of corruption scandals involving personal protective equipment in Africa such as in Zimbabwe, Kenya and South Africa.
W.H.O. chief labels cases related to COVID 19 corruption as murder.
“Corruption related to PPE… for me it’s actually murder. Because if health workers work without PPE, we’re risking their lives. And that also risks the lives of the people they serve”, stressed Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
South Africa, the hardest hit by COVID-19, with more than 600,000 cases and at least 2,500 deaths is investigating government departments for corruption over irregularities regarding coronavirus.
In Zimbabwe, the ex-Minister of Health was arrested and eventually sacked over misappropriation of funds for COVID 19.
According to the WHO, The most affected countries are Nigeria with over 51,905 cases, Ghana: 43,325 cases, followed by Algeria: 41,068 cases.
Daily News reports that there was heavy drama when Sikhala was arrested as a truckload of policemen armed with AK assault rifles and batons and others clad in plainclothes who were in a white twin cab invaded the usually quiet Tynwald North.
The publication reveals that when the officers arrived, a woman disembarked from the twin cab which drove off as the truck remained parked at the gate with the policemen knocking at the gate.
After failing to kick open the gate using booted feet, the police reportedly used the white truck they were driving to violently knock down the metal gate and gained entry.
They came out about 15 minutes, with a handcuffed Sikhala whom they shoved into the white truck and drove off followed by the twin cab that had resurfaced from the opposite direction.
Further information indicates that the house where Sikhala was found is where former Zanu PF MP for Hurungwe East Sarah Mahoka used to reside.
Sikhala is currently in Chikurubi Maximum Prison after a Harare Magistrate on Saturday postponed to Monday (tomorrow) a hearing on his application that challenged placement on remand.
Kaizer Chiefs’ stand-in-captain Willard Katsande has backed his team-mate and fellow countryman, Khama Billiat, who is facing criticism for under-performing.
Billiat has struggled to find his best form for the Premier Soccer League log leaders this term, hitting the back of the net once and made two assists in twenty games this season.
In an interview with NewsDay, Katsande urged the forward to remain focused despite the criticism.
He said: “Khama is a big player, and in most cases, criticism comes only to big players. I know he knows how to deal with it, but as a player, he ought to remain focused.
“He is important, and we are not worried he will deal with it, (we) are praying to keep the winning spirit in us.”
Billiat will be expected to play a part in this evening’s match against Stellenbosch.
Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic says he will only select players from Europe and South Africa for the back-to-back Afcon Qualifiers against Algeria in November if the local league does not start on time.
The 2020 local campaign is yet to begin due to the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown regulations, put in place to curb the spread of the virus, have seen players training on their own at home.
Speaking to the Daily News, Lagarusic says he will only take active players such as those based in Europe and South Africa.
“We are in a bit of a tricky situation. If nothing changes really, the selection will only be for foreign-based players,” he said.
“I can’t call local-based players who are not active. Selection can only be from Europe, South Africa and other active leagues. I’m currently following players in Europe, and I was impressed by this young boy from Swansea (Tivonge Rushesha), who won an award.
On the Chan Finals – only reserved for local-based players – that have been rescheduled to January next year, Logarusic said: “For Chan, we must also make sure we do something.
“I’m banking that the association will do their best and organise maybe a camp. If the government gives the green light to start football, we will have to start Chan preparations as soon as possible.”-Soccer 24
Farai Dziva|MDC Alliance vice president, Hon Tendai Biti has described Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s reconcilatory gesture as mere pretence meant to hoodwink the nation and the international community.
Biti also blasted Mr Mnangagwa for feigning concern about Gukurahundi atrocities.
“On the day he locked up #Job he was in Bulawayo discussing Gukurahundi.
But how can those with blood on their hands masquerade as healers.
They have shown no remorse contrition ,apology nor acknowledgement.
This abuse must stop. The Wananchi are not fools #ZimbabweanLivesMatter,” Hon Biti wrote on Twitter.
Today, MDC Alliance leader Mr Chidaushe donated bags of cement to Nhapata village in ward 7, Chivi North constituency.
The cement is meant to assist in the construction of an area where the community get water to feed their animals.
Chivi North is experiencing drought. Currently two dams- Mahagwe and Matowe in Chivi North have dried up.
Mr Chidaushe said, “As MDC Alliance party led by President advocate Chamisa we support community initiative programs. Chivi North needs our support. These bags of cement will assist our community.”
On a sad note, Waishe Chenjerai the child of Mr Takaedza Chenjerai died in ward 1 in Chivi North.
MDC ALLIANCE NAMIBIA’S SOLIDARITY STATEMENT ON THE ILLEGAL ARREST OF VICE-CHAIR JOB WIWA SIKHALA.
Mdc Alliance Namibia was perturbed by the unconstitutional arrest of the ardent social democrat, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala in Harare.
His arbitrary arrest came as a futile attempt to mute the clarion call for democratic confrontation against Zanupf’s senseless corruption, looting, abductions, torture, graft, heavy-handedness of the security forces and politicisation of the justice system.
Our dedicated and committed Vice-Chairperson has endured incessant incarceration and torture since the inception of the People’s project in 1999. He is being persecuted by the regime to break his resolve to call for action against Zanupf repression.
Sikhala was arrested for his loud call for the nation to embrace organic and pragmatic politics by confronting the beast in the eye through protracted demonstrations country wide against rampant corruption.
Our leader is an officer of Court, he is well-versed in the constitutional mechanisms to deal with dictatorship.
We are convinced that the right to peaceful protests is enshrined in the constitution of the country. It is a fundamental right to express your discontentment freely in a democratic Zimbabwe.
Mdc Alliance Namibia is committed to continue piling political and diplomatic pressure on the satanic regime. Their attempt to stifle democracy to pave way for an authoritarian environment must be resisted with equal measure.
Furthermore, Wiwa was on the list of wanted Mdc Alliance activists and trade union leaders for an interview with the police over the July 31st anti-government protests. Our leader never mobilised a coup against the rogue regime but the exploitation of democratic utensils to unseat an incompetent and politically inept government.
The unlawful detention of our leader and the murder of our councillor will not stop the 31st July Movement. In the diaspora, we are solidly behind Job Wiwa Sikhala and we demand his unconditional release. #zimbabweanlivesmatter. #releasewiwa. We shall continue to petition Zimbabwe embassies around the world.
In a nutshell, we urge all Social democrats in the national democratic revolution to give solidarity to our esteemed leader.
Mdc Alliance Namibia demands the immediate release of our vibrant Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala. He is right to instigate a democratic fight for a people’s government and better livelihoods.
We can’t have liberation without personal liberties. His dreams and aspirations for a new Great Zimbabwe are quite inspiring. Lets continue fighting for the emancipation of all prisoners of conscience
Zanupf Satanists must be resisted with equal measure. Zimbabweans must all rise against Zanupf induced poverty and clampdown on the advocates personal freedoms, economic and political liberation. Zanupf regime has grabbed too much for the citizenry to ignore
During this year’s World Humanitarian Day, the world honours all humanitarians – many working in their own communities – who are going to extraordinary lengths in extraordinary times to help women, men and children whose lives are upended by crises and the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The dedication, perseverance and self-sacrifice of these real-life heroes represent the best of humanity as they respond to the COVID-19 crisis and the massive increase in humanitarian needs it has triggered.
First responders are often people in need themselves — refugees, members of civil-society organizations and local health workers.
They bring food, shelter, health care, protection and hope to others amid conflict, displacement, disaster and disease.
But humanitarian workers are being tested like never before, struggling with unprecedented movement restrictions and insufficient resources as needs are outpacing funds.
And all too often, they risk their own lives to save the lives of others.
In recent weeks alone, despicable attacks have killed aid workers in Niger and Cameroon, and since the onset of the pandemic, scores of health workers have come under attack across the world.
According to Humanitarian Outcomes’
Aid Worker Security Database , major attacks against humanitarians last year surpassed all previous years on record.
A total of 483 relief workers were attacked, 125 killed, 234 wounded and 124 kidnapped in 277 separate incidents. This is an 18 per cent increase in the number of victims compared to 2018.
This is the eleventh World Humanitarian Day, designated by the UN General Assembly.
It falls on the day of the attack on the UN compound in Baghdad on 19 August 2003, which claimed the lives of 22 people including the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello.
Since then, nearly 5,000 humanitarians have been killed, wounded or abducted, and the 2010-2019 decade experienced a 117 per cent increase in attacks compared to 2000-2009.
A surge in attacks against health workers was recorded in 2019, including strikes against medics in Syria and shootings of Ebola workers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

It can’t be business as usual when our people are being murdered like animals.
ED must never be forgiven even if or when he loses power, he must be held accountable for the many deaths he masterminded, including this latest loss of young life.
Life is precious that nobody deserves to lose it over the right to associate with a party of choice.
This Cde (Lavender Chiwaya) was abducted, murdered and dumped a few meters away from his home This is crude, fellow Zimbabweans.

Traditional healers intend to work hand-in-glove with scientists in research efforts for therapeutics and medicines that can be used to treat the coronavirus.
Zimbabwe National Practitioners Association (ZINPA) president Friday Chisanyu, whose grouping also represents herbalists, said the law, particularly the Traditional Medical Practitioners Act, needs to be fine-tuned to include them in collaborative research efforts to find treatment for diseases.
“There is an urgent need for inclusive collaborative research and accurate information and knowledge sharing about Covid-19. This is an effective way of reducing the burden associated with the pandemic,” Chisanyu said.
He claims that the Traditional Medical Practitioners Act, which is monitored and administered by the Ministry of Health and Child Care, has a lot of loopholes that need to be plugged.
“Apart from giving traditional healing no scientific merit, this Act does not give Government the mandate to train traditional and faith healers as part of the mainstream health system.
This is despite the fact that Government acknowledges that 80 percent of Zimbabweans rely on traditional medicine.”
The Traditional Medical Practitioners Act was passed in 1981.
Traditional healers were first given professional recognition at Independence through the establishment of the Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers Association (ZINATHA).
Government also established a traditional medicine directorate within the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
The directorate is the regulating and controlling authority whose mandate is to ensure safe traditional medical practices.-The Sunday Mail
By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Republic Police has informed the public that it has arrested four suspected robbers in connection with about 10 theft cases that were reported at the end of 2019.
The development was announced by Matebeleland South Provincial police spokesperson Chief Inspector Philisani Ndebele who identified the quartet as Enock Maunga (35), Karabo Dube (20), William Ndlovu (40) and Thembelani Ndlovu (28).
Ndebele said:
We recovered stolen property which comprises 13 car batteries, 19 galvanised roofing sheets, four solar panels, an amplifier, two wheelbarrows, a gas tank, two rolls of brick force, three plastic drums and a car radio. Two complainants have since identified their property while the rest of the property is still to be identified.
He added that the suspects who were arrested following a tip-off from members of the public are now assisting police with investigations after they were found in possession of these stolen items.
Chief Ndebele also said there have been a series of cases of theft from motor vehicles within Gwanda which we recorded in June and July. We suspect that the recoveries could be linked to these cases.
He also urged individuals who lost their properties to visit Gwanda Urban Police Station for identification of their belongings.
By A Correspondent- Businesswoman and Zanu Pf apologist Edith Chibhamu’s ex husband Gift Tsamba has been hauled to court for rape after he forced himself on a 15 year old juvenile.
Tsamba aged 42 of Unit J in Seke Chitungwiza whose business address was cited as Green Span Innovations in South Africa unlawfully and intentionally had sexual intercourse with the minor without her consent.
It is the state’s case that on an unknown date but from 2019 until 3 August 2020, Tsamba raped the female juvenile on several occasions before she opened up to a relative leading to the arrest of the accused on August 5 2020.
The matter was remanded to 1 September 2020 by Chitungwiza Regional Magistrate Arnold Maburo.
However, Dr Chan has warned Mnangagwa to “stop digging while he is in a hole.”
“Later that night, Brighton went to Benjamin’s homestead armed with a wooden log.
He struck Benjamin several times all over the body and left him unconscious.

By A Correspondent- Victor Mpofu is using satire to shine a light on Zimbabwe’s political problems, reaching a growing audience despite living in fear of retribution from President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government.

Chamisa recently returned from compassionate leave which he took following his mother’s death.

By Patrick Guramatunhu- “There were 102 new covid-19 cases and one death in the country bring the total to 5 745 confirmed cases and 151 deaths,” reported Ministry of Health and Child Care..
The people of Zimbabwe like to be led by the nose like a bull at the market! The country is in this economic and political mess because for the last 40 years Zanu PF has ridden over this nation roughshod, denying the people the freedoms and rights and robbing the nation blind. The nation’s economy is in total ruins and 34% of the population now live in abject poverty.
Zimbabwe’s 5 745 confirmed covid-19 cases and 151 deaths with 16 million population puts the country in the same league, in terms of containing the virus, as New Zealand and South Korea with 1 671, 22 and 5 million and 17 002, 309 and 52 million confirmed cases, deaths and population respectively. Whilst New Zealand and South Korea are known for their very strict quarantine measures and very aggressive test, trace and track regimes respectively; Zimbabwe has done nothing of note to contain the virus. Absolutely nothing!
Zimbabwe’s covid-19 figures should be comparable to those of South Africa with 603 338 confirmed cases, 12 843 deaths and a population of 60 million. One reason why Zimbabwe’s covid-19 figures are low is because the country has not been testing as aggressively as it should.
As of the end of July 2020, SA had done 3 million tests (no where near the aggressive testing of South Korea) and Zimbabwe with 1/4 the population should have done 750 000 tests to keep pace with SA. In reality Zimbabwe had done only 145 000 tests or 20%.
“Test! Trace! Track!” has been the World Heath Organisation’s clarion cry to the world!
It is only by testing, tracing and tracking that one will know of corona virus outbreak and by forcing all the infected into isolation and, if necessary, placing a whole city, region or even country into lockdown, to contain and stop the spread of the virus. If one does not test at all, which is the extreme case, then one will have zero confirmed cases and zero deaths.
The tragedy of doing few tests or zero tests is the nation has no clue how the virus is spreading and therefore will not take even the common sense measures such as isolation to contain and stop the spread of the virus. There have been hundreds if not thousands of covid-19 deaths in Zimbabwe and the people have been forced to bury their dead without taking the precautions to stop getting the virus.
There should be teams of well trained and equipped tasked with the responsibility to bury all covid-19 victims in every district across the land. There are no teams to test suspected covid-19 cases much less team to bury covid-19 dead! None!
There is overwhelming anecdotal evidence to show that corona virus is more widespread than the Ministry of Health and Child Care reports would have us believe. Zimbabweans are chasing to believe the official reports and not their own eyes because they are used to being led by the nose like a bull at the market!

By A Correspondent- Zanu PF Bulawayo Province will today hold elections to choose an interim executive committee that will steer the party forward and instil discipline among members.
Bulawayo Province has been without an executive following the dissolution of structures in 2019 and was operating under the chairmanship of Politburo Member Absalom Sikhosana who died in May.
Addressing party members at Davies Hall in Bulawayo yesterday, the National Political Commissar, Victor Matemadanda, said his visit was to pave way for the electoral process.
“We want to re-introduce a provincial structure but in an interim capacity for Bulawayo and we are convinced this is going to cause better management of the party in the region. We have done the introduction and we are going to look at the curriculum vitae of the elected District Coordinating Committees members. Those interested should indicate the positions that they want to contest for. If it is felt that they can contest then they can go ahead and we declare winners,” he said.
Matemadanda also spoke of the need to instil and maintain discipline in the party. This comes after the suspension of a member of the District Coordinating Committee (DCC) in Bulawayo area five over allegations of misconduct.
“We are saying this party is driven by discipline and if we find that in an area there is misbehaving then we deal with that. The party is dealing with those issues. Even in the Politburo people have been suspended and some have been expelled, the party is emphasising on the need for discipline.
The President has said we must build cadres of the party, it is a course that everyone in the leadership is going to go through so that we understand what it means to be a member of the party or a cadre of the party. Zanu-PF is a party with ethics and regulations.
What we do as Zanu-PF must not tamper with the values of the Unity Accord if you do not understand what it is then consulting with those that are in the know. Any generation of leadership that comes must recognise the Unity Accord.”

SUSPECTED gold panners recently dug up a man’s grave in Esikhoveni area in Umzingwane District, Matabeleland South province where they left human remains scattered following a long-held community myth that the deceased was buried with his treasure, among them gold.
The incident took place in the dead of the night last week and was discovered in the morning by a villager who was passing by the place and the remains were re-buried last Wednesday. It is not known whether they got what they were looking for as no arrests have been made so far, with police saying they were still carrying out investigations into the case.
Matabeleland South police spokesperson Chief Inspector Philisani Ndebele confirmed the incident to Sunday News on Friday.
He said the dug-up grave was discovered in Esikhoveni by a local who was passing by and saw that there was freshly dug earth.
A report was made to the police who attended the scene where it became apparent that the grave had been tampered with by suspected gold panners.
“It is true that there is a case of that nature where suspected gold panners dug a grave believed to be a white man’s in search of gold. The dug-up grave was discovered by a local villager and a report was made to the police. We are treating the case as tampering with a grave but no arrests have been made so far. Investigations are still in progress,” said Chief Insp Ndebele.
He referred further questions to the District Development Coordinator, Mr Peter Mahlatini, who said the grave according to the village head a Mr Mabhena was known to belong to a white man who died more than seven decades ago. He confirmed the community held myth that the white man was said to have been buried with his treasure including gold which most likely prompted the gold panners to defy both African tradition and morals concerning the dead. Mr Mahlatini also pushed the theory that the gold panners could have used their gold detector machines and suspicion is high that they could have detected and followed a trail of the coffin’s handles.
“The grave is not in a homestead. After consultations with the relevant stakeholders we re-buried the remains on Wednesday,” said Mr Mahlatini.
Umzingwane Member of Parliament Retired Brigadier-General Levi Mayihlome said he was apprised of the incident.
“I was told of the incident. I couldn’t attend the proceedings because of Covid-19 but it’s an unfortunate incident where people go to those lengths looking for treasure,” he said.
Entrepreneur and politician, Acie Lumumba was this morning reported to have survived a freak accident early morning along Bulawayo Road which wrecked his Mercedes Benz GL.
Hus close friend Kuda Musasiwa was one of the early people to disclose the news of the accident.
Kuda Vendor in Chief tweeted: “Morning everyone. Glad to report that @acielumumba is alive and well after an accident on (sic) route to BYO. We thank God.”
Several posts on the accidents followed up with some reports that Lumumba alias William Mutumanje was accompanied by a ‘lady from work’ on his way to Bulawayo when the car veered off the road in Warren Park.

In a surprise turn of events, Lumumba has since denied he was involved in any accident.
He wrote in a tweet.
“Hi friends thank you for the concern. No I was not in an accident this morning,” he wrote.
Hi friends, thank you for the concern. No I was not in an accident this morning.
“I normally sleep all day Sunday, nhasi I was woken up by people vatowuya kuzogara nhaka pamba pangu. I was neither driving or in an accident this morning. Ndakutogeza on a Sunday coz of you people. Thank you for the suspect concern henyu. But dai ndafa ndaikumukirai.”
Kuda Musasiwa has also since dropped his earlier Tweet replacing it with a surprise to hear that there was no accident after all.

What would be your reaction if I were to tell you that the British government was engaging various Zimbabwe civil society organizations – let us say, the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition (CiZC), or Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) – to find healing and closure to the grave suffering caused by colonization on Zimbabweans?
Would you not find that extremely odd? Actually, would you not consider such insincerity and impertinence an unforgivable insult on the people of Zimbabwe, who had suffered immeasurably, due to nearly a century of repressive colonial rule?
The major question would be: why would the British not had engaged directly with Zimbabweans themselves, instead of civil society organizations, who would not even have been given the mandate to represent them?
Of course, this is just an analogy – as the British have never even bothered to undertake any semblance of talks with those that were at the receiving end of its imperialist policies.
However, something disturbingly identical to the above example is currently underway right here in Zimbabwe – as witnessed by the government delegation, led by president Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, that met with Matebeleland civil society organizations in Bulawayo on 22 August 2020, under the pretext of finding healing and closure to the Gukurahundi genocide perpetrated by the very same regime that is facilitating these talks.
If anything could be bizarre under the sun, then this certainly takes the gold medal!
I love examples, so here goes another one.
Let us say that I am known to have cold-bloodedly killed someone (and dumped the body in a place unknown to anyone else), and gruesomely beaten up, tortured, and raped his sister – but, then, I do not even bother approaching the victim and the family, rather instead opting to negotiate with the local church (which none of the family members even attends), and proceed to arrange with them to exhume and rebury the corpse.
In all this, I never even acknowledge that I did anything wrong, neither do I hand myself over to law enforcement authorities, to face justice for my heinous crimes – but, instead, I proceed to portray myself as some sort of peace-building mediator.
Even though I am not into movies, I would have most definitely loved to watch, if this had been one – however, it is not, as real people, and real lives was mercilessly and cold-heartedly massacred, raped, had their limps chopped off, and tortured (in their tens of thousands) by an unrepentant and villainous regime – which, as opposed to meeting directly with the victims, acknowledging its sadistic crimes, sincerely apologizing, being made accountable, and negotiating restitution – the perpetrators are now making themselves appear as some peacemaking mediators, engaging civil society organizations, that have absolutely nothing to do with the victims, whilst arranging to exhume and rebury those they butchered.
The phrase, “trying to bury the evidence” immediately comes to mind. Otherwise, what else is anyone expected to think, as this whole charade does not make any sense at all.
Furthermore, listening to the excited civil society organizations, curiously naming themselves, ‘Matebeleland Collective’, one would be excused for concluding that the perpetrators of this ever-lasting injustice on a defenceless Ndebele speaking people, had found a ready and willing partner in pulling wool over these innocent victims’ eyes.
If not, how else can anyone explain the self-satisfaction exhibited by these organizations over these engagements with the regime – the most recent one being the third – without ever hearing a single word of demanding accountability, or direct contacts between the perpetrators and the victims, before rushing to agree on exhumation and reburials?
I have always maintained that the surest way to detect and identify a remorseless and unreformed abusive person, is his insistence that his victim quickly heals, forgives him, and moves on, acting all jovially, whilst pretending that nothing terrible ever happened – especially, without so much as an acknowledgement of having committed any wrong, and preparedness to face any consequences.
That is exactly what we are sadly witnessing in this Gukurahundi genocide engagement sham – since, there is undoubtedly no sincerity at all, by a regime that found it necessary to unleash a whole military brigade on an unarmed and non-violent population, whose only ‘crime’ was simply being a member of a tribe the powers-that-be did not like.
As someone who witnessed some of this evil unfolding right in front of my eleven year old eyes, and have often been approached by various victims of this government’s vile and despicable hateful repression, for me to highlight their plight, and demand justice – I feel a brutal stabbing in my heart over this callous insensitivity.
This has all the hallmarks of a government that merely wants this issue to be swept under the carpet, and never to be raised again – without any genuine accountability, healing, and closure – unfortunately, with the open complicity of the local civil society – a plan that is well calculated to silence any voices that had been previously making a lot of noise over this vicious and heartless crime against humanity, whilst leaving the real poor victims without a voice, and without true healing and closure.
This whole ‘engagement’ process is a huge big trick – and no one should be allowed to get away with it.
Indeed, the nation can not stay in one place for four decades, and desperately needs to move forward – but, that can only be achieved with the seriousness and honesty such an emotive and grave matter demands – as, any attempts for taking shorts cuts, will inevitably fail, and possibly lead to tribal conflict in the country.
As someone once said, “Short cuts, are usually wrong cuts” – therefore, there is need for unfeigned healing and closure, which should be undertaken without trying to short-circuit the process, so as to avoid accountability – since, it has never worked in any situation before, and will certainly never work in the future.
By A Correspondent | Below are riveting pictures of ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa soon after ordering the killing of scores of black Zimbabweans between the 1st August 2018 and the 25th January 2019.
This article in full explores how Mnangagwa evolved from an open-smiling-face to a tongue-clung to-the-roof of his mouth 41 years later.
On the 4th April 1983, Mnangagwa announced that he is launching an operation to depopulate a part of the nation that supports opposing political views. He said:
“Blessed are they who will follow the path of the Government laws, for their days on earth will be increased. But woe unto those who will choose the path of collaboration with dissidents for we will certainly shorten their stay on earth,” he added.
As Minister of State Security, Mnangagwa was in charge of the brutal massacre of more than 22 000 Ndebele. He labeled dissidents ‘cockroaches’ and the killers of the Fifth Brigade army unit as ‘DDT,’ an insecticide.
Economy data shows how the country’s GDP crashed down following the operation, and effects were immediately felt from 1983 all the way to 1985. As if the lessons of those years were not enough, 32 years later in May 2015, Mnangagwa speaking at the home of the late Vice President Simon Muzenda would describe election winners and their supporters, the majority, as instant corpses.
This was late in 1979 at a preelection rally, just after the murder of his brother in law Gen Josiah Tongogara and the emerging pictures suggest Mnangagwa was a smiling happy man.
Then later this was – 1987 at the end of the Gukurahundi massacres. Mnangagwa doesn’t look happy that the killing is over, as it were.

Around this time, Emmerson Mnangagwa’s dummy dissident, called Richard Gwesela had been killed by a newspaper article, literally. 22 years later, ZimEye would uncover that there was never anyone at all called Richard Gwesela, the dummy Mnangagwa used wans state agent, used to create chaos in communities in order to justify the mass massacre of tens thousands of people.
For a whole for your period, Gwesela who did not even have a bicycle, was immortal.
FAST FORWARDS 39 YEARS LATER
The first picture is that of Mnangagwa just 48 hours after ordering the mass shooting that got 6 people dead in the Harare CBD, a pre-planned operation executed during the hours election results were delayed leading to him suddenly being announce winner of the 2018 polls despite it being openly announced on LIVE state television, ZBC in his presence that the Zim military will be used to enforce an election outcome greater than the one ZANU PF achieved in 1980.

The second picture is that of Mnangagwa barely 2 weeks after deploying the military in the capital city Harare killing 17 people and raping more than 50 women as their children watched between 15th and the 25th January 2019. ZimEye pursued Mnangagwa on his overseas travels and managed to push for the broadcaster and others to grill Mnangagwa later in Addis Ababa.
During this moment (below) the man was speaking to the broadcaster France24, and this was the very heated moment as he denied deploying the military to carry out extra judicial killings and raping women.
He would however later openly confirm to the people of Mwenezi that he is the one who did it all and then deployed emissaries to SADC leaders in order to spoon-feed them on what to say concerning his military violence, blaming it on civilians.

“…So I made a decision to go for the head on collision, I felt in my spirit that the Lord wanted me to do that, and that is what I did.”
By A Correspondent | The Harare preacher Talent Chiwenga has spoken for the first time concerning the accident that happened in Norton in which he collided with the MDC Alliance Spokesman (2018) Jacob Mafume’s two family members who were traveling to the latter’s house to sleep for the night in the 13th July 2020, for a relative’s funeral.
Writing in his letter, Chiwenga said the accident which happened 3km before the Norton tollgate (while driving from Harare), was an assassination plot against him. He said this is the reason why he continued to drive straight into the oncoming vehicle.
The preacher says the driver he collided with had no reason to enter his lane.
In proving this, Chiwenga uses a sketchdiagram of the tollgate that suggests that the island separating the lanes begins from inside the tollgate structure. But hovering footage shows there are no markings and the Bulawayo traffic is clearly diverted into the Harare lane.
Talent Chiwenga wrote addressing the Church members calling them his “children.”
THE FULL UNEDITED EXCERPT IS BELOW:
https://youtu.be/wKy7WSJJaTc
I write to you my children, to communicate with you because I love you and I miss you. It has been long since you heard from me or saw my face.
Well you all know how we got involved in a head-on collision with a white mercedes benz sedan car that was wrongly driving on a one way traffic road at a very high speed towards us without switching on the headlights well, it only switched its headlights on when it was less than ten metres away from our car, after 1900 hours Central African Time.
This was not an ordinary or natural accident, it was an assassination plan by enemies of the gospel who hold high offices in government. We had informed you a week before this incident of this plan but they still went ahead to do it. The plan was to cause me to panic and try to avoid a head on collision and by so doing i would lose control of my vehicle and we were all going to die; just like they did in the June12, 2019 accident. They would blame me and say I do not know how to drive safely, or I was sleeping while driving, or i was overspeeding, or i was drunk. Nobody would corroborate our story that there was an oncoming car on a one way road in the highway. And we would look stupid, untruthful and falsely accusing them of foul play. So I made a decision to go for the head on collision, I felt in my spirit that the Lord wanted me to do that, and that is what i did.
We thank God that none lost their lives in our car, there were no fatalities, only two people were hurt, myself and one faithful helper in the protocol department.
I sustained serious injuries, and i have gone through numerous procedures and operations, but i am alive, and i am hopeful that the Lord will heal me and i will be able to walk again, stand again and share the good word of the Lord with you.
2 Corinthians 4:8-12
18]We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; [9]Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; [10]Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. [11]For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. [12]So then death worketh in us, but life in you.”
As i write this message to you right now (0300 hours CAT), i am in much pain, the pain that i have never felt in my life, the pain that sometimes rages on even after receiving the highest dozes of the strongest painkillers available in the hospital. But this is just pain in my body, my spirit is fine, it is not sick, i find time to listen to the word and i can assure you it is well with my spirit.
Soon after the accident i saw the demages i had sustained, and i thought that through the excessive bleeding i experianced I was going to die on my way to the hospital, and i prayed what i thought was my last prayer to God; i said ‘ Lord you know how with sincerity and with a clear conscience i have served you, it was an honor to serve the King of kings and the Lord of Lords, you do not owe me anything, if my time to go has come, i am ready, i just want to thank you for the rare opportunity you gave me to be a steward of such a great gospel …’
I meant every word in this prayer, and after i said it i was so much at peace with everything. It is a great miracle that i am still alive today considering the serious injuries sustained and a loss of more than 2 and half litres of blood through
I know the Lord kept me alive for you, for your benefit, so that you can still receive a service from the prisoner of God. I know you are praying for me and that you arealso very worried, you want to hear my voice, and be able to see me and ascertain that i am truly alive. That will happen soon, we have to deal with life threatening situations first and then i will be able to see you again, remember i am yours, i belong to you and once i have recovered and the security situation has improved, you will see me.
I want to thank you all for your thoughts, your prayers and your love towards me, i love you too with all my heart, you are my true family and you know how useless i feel when i am not on the pulpit. But it is a necessary setback, i have to get better first and if the doctors declare me fit to function normally, we will all be happy together again.
Lastly i want to remind you how great the Love of our God is towards us, he tells us everything that will befall us beforehand, there are no surprises and that means he will become there to make sure we are not consumed by those afflictions laid before our paths by the devil.
As for the men of the city of Harare, the men of Zimbabwe who are seeking to kill me, because they do not like the word of God that i have spoken against them because of their abominable lives, this is God’s message to them:
Jeremiah 26:1-16
“Min the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying, [2]Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word: [3]If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings. [4]And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, [5]To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened; [6]Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth. [7]So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD. [8]Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die. [9]Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD. [10]When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king’s house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD’S house. [11]Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears. [12]Then spa he Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard. [13]Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you. [14]As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you. [15]But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears. [16]Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.”
Are we going to find men in our country who are going to oppose the murderers’ voices, and say this man is not worthy to die, for he has spoken in the name of the Lord God? God knows better.
But the people of Zimbabwe should know that they are bringing innocent blood of the servant of God upon not only the murderers, but the whole country; and when the punishment comes upon a land it will affect everyone, including those who say we are the passive and indifferent one. It is a heinous sin to kill the prophet of God!!
My exhortation to you believers is that stand together as a family wherever you are, at the local assembly, or region, encourage one another in the faith, minister to each other’s needs, and above all dedicate a significant portion of your day’s time to hearing the word of God, we have endless video sermons on Facebook Page: Apostle TF Chiwenga Ministries, many downloadable audio sermons on Soundcloud/Apostle TF Chiwenga, and and also on YouTube/Jesus Revelation Ministries.
Let us respect the leaders we have in our assemblies, sections and regions, there needs to be order in the house of God at all times. Do not allow yourself to be used by the devil as an agent of disunity, disharmony and bickerings in the house of God.
We thank God that we do not have many cases of believers who have tested positive to the COVID 19 pandemic and most of them who have are stable and recovering well, most of them have fully recovered and are back to their normal lives, glory to Jesus for that.
I have written this letter to streangthen you, continue praying for me and i know the Lord hears all our prayers.
May the Lord Jesus Christ keep you pure, holy, undefiled until his last day. Grace be upon you all amen.

By Business Reporter| The recently fired Energy Minister Fortune Chasi is set to be fired within the next 72 hours, it has emerged.
A ZimEye source said Chasi is being apprehended over allegations of corruption involving controversial businessmen Wicknell Chivayo (Intratek owner) and one, Farai Jere who owns Helcraw Electricals.
Chasi has been the most popular ZANU PF minister on social media since his days when he was Deputy Minister Of Justice, Emmerson Mnagagwa’s immediate junior, during the Robert Mugabe era.
Chasi will be arrested in 72 hours’ time, the source suggested on Saturday. Their claim correlated with that of Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi who last week publicly announced saying Chasi was fired over corruption allegations.
Chasi is Zimbabwe's most used and abused minister since Mugabe's days?
The development comes however as the exiled prof Jonathan Moyo last week to the other hand, claimed that the real reason Chasi was fired
for removing the former ZESA boss Sidney Gata who is Mnangagwa’s brother in law. Their wives are sisters.

Matabeleland activists have blasted Jenny Williams the leader of highly captured Matabeleland Collective for donating the Gukurahundi atrocities issue to Mnangagwa.
At a meeting she held on Saturday with Mnangagwa, the duo agreed that goverment will next month start exhuming and reburying victims of the post-independence disturbances which Mnangagwa presided over as State Security Minister at the time.
According to the deal, Mnangagwa will facilitate the issuance of birth certificates for children of some of the victims, including death certificates for those who died.
Matabeleland Collective is a grouping of non-governmental organisations from Bulawayo, Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South that have been tested and proven to be loyal to Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa has previously tried dragging chiefs from the Matabeleland region into the Matabeleland Corrective platform on the same issue, but was horribly let down by the chiefs who questioned the eligibility of the grouping in claiming to be representing Matabeleland.
Speaking on the outcomes of Saturday’s meeting, Ms Williams said they were happy that finally what was initially a draft proposal on paper will now be operationalised and help bring closure to Gukurahundi victims.
“This meeting was called so that we discuss the implementation matrix of our programme to address the challenges of the victims, which include issues to do with exhumation and issuance of birth and death certificates. We are ecstatic that the President has reaffirmed his commitment to these programmes as we start implementing them.
“I must, therefore, assure people in the various communities that we will be now coming to them to both engage and implement these programmes,” said Ms Williams.
Mnangagwa and Williams meeting has come under fire from people in Matabeleland who have blamed Williams for selling out on the region.
Speaking to ZimEye.com a Gukurahundi survivor, Mike Ncube of Bulawayo accused Williams of involving herself on an issue she no experience on.
“Who is this Jenny Williams you are talking about?” Ncube questioned.
“Has she even ever seen a grave of a Gukurahundi victim?”
“Mnangagwa is better, he saw fresh graves of the people immediately after killing them and dumping them like dogs,” bellowed Ncube.
Speaking to weekend media,Mthwakazi Republic Party leader Mqondisi Moyo warned Mnangagwa not to continue with agreements they have reached with Williams as they are not representative of the general thinking of the people of Matabeleland.
“What Mnangagwa should always know is that Jenni Williams and her Civic Society do not represent the interests of the Matabeleland and Midlands people alias Mthwakazi.”
Bulawayo pressure group, Ibhetshu Likazulu coordinator Mbuso Fuzwayo shared the same sentiments with Moyo.
“It (meeting) is a non-event, a sideshow after the attacking of Arch Bishop Ndlovu for speaking of the current human rights violations and the past genocide that has not been addressed.
Fuzwayo said Mnangagwa should instead hold his meetings with the affected people in the communities.
“These meetings are detached from communal needs,” he said.
“They do not represent victims in the villages because no consultations have been done with them.
He described those organisations involved in the meeting as sell-outs.
“Mnangagwa has simply demonstrated unprovoked ways how un-presidential and divisive he is. He has just displayed the unrepentant tribalist and genocidist he is,” said Zapu spokesperson Iphithule Maphosa.

African Union has suspended Mali for over the coup, they must also suspend Zimbabwe over Mnangagwa's 2017 coup which has continued to this day, 25 people killed & 50 women raped?
Parliamentarians will undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing this week, in preparation for resumption of sittings, following a month-long adjournment after some legislators tested positive for coronavirus.
Two members of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development tested positive towards the end of July, forcing the House to suspend business.
A journalist and a driver who travelled with the committee on a field tour were also infected.
The National Assembly subsequently adjourned to August 25 to allow for disinfection of the premises and testing of MPs and Parliamentary staff. Senate adjourned to September 15.
Clerk of Parliament, Mr Kennedy Chokuda, told The Sunday Mail that the National Assembly will sit for the purposes of adjourning business to Tuesday next week, to allow for testing of both MPs and Parliamentary staff.
“We will then conduct testing for all MPs and Parliament staff before sittings resume.”
Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, who is also leader of Government business in the House, said Parliament will deploy stringent preventative measures in line with World Health Organisation (WHO) protocols.
“What the Parliament administration is doing is looking at modalities for us to safely resume sitting,” said Minister Ziyambi.
“We had closed for the purposes of fumigation and coming up with a strategy, going forward, on how to contain the pandemic within Parliament and among Parliamentarians.
“So, along with the Parliament administration, we agreed that we have to work together with the various Provincial Ministers of State and the rapid response teams so that before we resume business, our MPs are tested.
“That way, when they come back, we will know the status of each and every one of us, as well as that of staff.
“We are looking at mechanisms to enable Parliament to operate as an essential service.
There is need to find mechanisms of ensuring that Members of Parliament and staff are tested.
Minister Ziyambi said Parliament intends to push through Bills that were gazetted, but failed to go through the necessary legislative processes owing to Covid-19-induced interruptions. Parliament is saddled with 15 Bills that have been outstanding owing to the disruptions.
“We are looking at mechanisms of resuming the second session, which is ending this August, before the President opens third session of the Ninth Parliament and sets out a new legislative agenda.
“Right now, we are hoping that Bills that are almost done and those that are before the Senate can be concluded before the President opens the next session.
“We are looking at cleaning up those that we can and those that we can’t we then roll over to the next session of the Ninth Parliament.”
There have been concerns over the low number of Bills passing through Parliament even before the outbreak of the coronavirus.
While opening the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament on October 1 last year, President Mnangagwa exhorted Parliament to expedite the passage of laws, which he described as critical for development.
“The law must be a universal instrument of development. As such, the slow pace in this August House, which has resulted in a low number of Bills passing through Parliament cannot be allowed to continue.
“I, thus, challenge Honourable members in their individual and collective capacities, to play their part in speeding up our parliamentary processes,” he said.
By A Correspondent | As Gukurahundi abductions and tortures continue in 2020, the man who started the whole operation in 1983, Emmerson Mnangagwa has won endorsement from the women’s rights activist Jenni Williams as she this time “represents” the whole Matebeleland province.
Williams said she is ecstatic as she titled Mnanagwa, “the President.” Mnangagwa is the same man who executed another Gukurahundi style operation on the 1st August 2018 to kill people in Harare just so to steal the job.
Scores of activists in Matebeleland have been tortured this year and many are either on the run, or they have been abducted.
Williams who is the Chairperson of the Matabeleland Collective, added saying she is happy that finally what was initially a draft proposal on paper will now be operationalised and help bring closure to Gukurahundi victims.
“This meeting was called so that we discuss the implementation matrix of our programme to address the challenges of the victims which include issues to do with exhumation and issuance of birth and death certificates.
“We are ecstatic that the President has reaffirmed his commitment to these programmes as we start implementing them. I must therefore assure people in the various communities that we will now be coming to them to both engage and implement these programmes,” said Ms Williams.
The Information Ministry secretary Nick Mangwana moved in to explain what was happening:
“Today (yesterday), the issues that were discussed were the issuance of birth and death certificates to victims of Gukurahundi, exhumation of victims of Gukurahundi, Matabeleland Zambezi Water Project, corruption in rural district councils, youth empowerment and increased participation of women in Government and Parliament.
“From these the outcome was that there will be a rollout in September which is going to involve the chiefs, the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission, Matabeleland Collective and Government. This rollout is basically the implementation of these programmes for the Gukurahundi victims,” said Mr Mangwana.
The state media reported saying these developments are in line with the new dispensation’s thrust of collective engagement towards development as members of the Matabeleland Collective have been previously hostile towards the Government. In his previous meetings, Mnangagwa has hailed the interaction which he described as the first of its kind in terms of social dialogue.
FIGHT over a black ball in a game of pool ended tragically after three men allegedly struck a Chipinge teenager last week.
“Later that night, Brighton went to Benjamin’s homestead armed with a wooden log. He struck Benjamin several times all over the body and left him unconscious.
