DeMbare Complete Registration Of Players

Dynamos have now completed the registration of all the players in their squad for this campaign.

The Glamour Boys faced challenges in registering some of their stars and had only twenty-one players available on the first match-day of the Chibuku Super Cup last month.

Among the initially ineligible players were Godknows Murwira, Geofrey Chitsumba, Luke Musikiri, Antonio Bill and Shadreck Nyahwa who was at the centre of a dispute with his former club Bulawayo Chiefs. Amakhosi Amahle were insisting the midfielder was still contracted to them when he moved to Harare and wanted a transfer fee.

The same situation was also affecting the registration of Newman Sianchali after moving from rivals CAPS United.

The only player in the squad that was yet to be cleared was Juan Mutudza but he is now registered and will be available for selection against ZPC Kariba in a matchday 3 encounter on Thursday.

A statement by Dynamos confirmed the news: “Juan Adrian Mutudza’s registration is complete and is eligible for selection in our match against ZPC Kariba on Thursday in the Chibuku Super Cup.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

MDC Alliance Dismisses State Media “Lies About Infighting In The Party”

Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance Secretary General Hon Charlton Hwende has dismissed talk of bickering and infighting in the popular movement.

Hon Hwende has refuted claims by a State run daily paper that there is chaos in the MDC Alliance.

Zanu PF is desperate to soil the MDC Alliance’s reputation, according to Hon Hwende.

See statement below:

2 June 2021

                                                  PRESS STATEMENT

PANICKING ZANU PF IN PROPAGANDA OVERDRIVE

The MDC-Alliance notes with concern ZANU PF’s continued abuse of state media for its propaganda drive. In the Herald yesterday, they published a mischievous article through Fungisai Kwaramba projecting a false image of chaos and infighting within the People’s Party.

We are aware that the falsehoods are driven by panic in the ZANU PF regime, unsettled by the unity, resilience and fighting spirit within the People’s Party in particular by the success of our Agenda 2021 Program launched by the People’s President Nelson Chamisa at a time when the regime thought of writing the people’s movement’s epitaph.

The People’s Party has withered the unrelenting onslaught from ZANU PF and its surrogates which was aimed at permanently annihilating the People’s Party.

The protracted onslaught on the People’s Party in the past 24 months includes state engineered rebellion and split of the party, illegal recalls of its MPs and councillors, the hostile takeover of the party’s headquarters, the withholding of funds due to the party under the Political Party Finances Act and the systematic arrest and imprisonment of its party members.

Instead of weakening the People’s Party these coordinated attacks have in fact strengthened the party which is now more united and determined to win Zimbabwe for change.

The People’s Party is united behind its President Advocate Nelson Chamisa and focused on the broader objective of winning Zimbabwe for change.

For the first time in many years the party has successfully extinguished the fires of State sponsored divisions to focus on the common agenda whose vision and strategy is driven by the People’s President Advocate Nelson Chamisa.

Under the leadership of the People’s President Nelson Chamisa the party has successfully established new branches and strengthened existing party structures for its grassroots membership across the country.

The party’s rural mobilisation and recruitment programme is gaining momentum. This has caused panic and despondency within ZANU PF.

The Zimbabwe Agenda 2021 which seeks to bring Zimbabweans together under Citizens Convergence for Change has been a resounding success following overwhelming response from citizens in both rural and urban areas.

Citizens across the country are converging under the common agenda of resisting authoritarian consolidation and demanding a new government.

Currently the party through its Elections Directorate has launched a voter registration campaign whose ultimate objective is to register and garner 6 million votes for the People’s Party in the 2023 general elections.

To circumvent the media blackout and negative propaganda against the People’s Party by state media, the party through its Communications Department has launched its own radio station Change Radio and will soon be launching its own TV station and re-launching its newspaper The Changing Times. The party has also put in place measures to amplify its presence on social media and all digital platforms. We are not leaving anything to chance.

Noting these bold strides, the ZANU PF regime is now resorting to cheap propaganda to create non-existent divisions and imaginary chaos in the MDC Alliance.

The MDC Alliance leadership remains united and focused on winning Zimbabwe for change under the leadership of President Nelson Chamisa.

Smoking And Respiratory Problems…

WHO Director-General Special Awards for World No Tobacco Day announced: Minister of Health India and University of Bath for exceptional achievement in tobacco control.

Smokers face a 40 – 50% higher risk of developing severe disease and death from COVID-19.
WHO partners with Viber, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, WeChat and AI company Soul Machines to reach billions with free digital quitting tobacco aids.
The World Health Organization’s ‘Commit to Quit’ tobacco campaign has made resources from its Quitting Toolkit freely available to more than a billion tobacco users, less than 5 months into the year-long campaign.

WHO launched the campaign to support those millions of tobacco users who are actively taking steps to save their lives, but still need help to succeed.

The campaign is currently working directly with 29 focus countries. Each country agreed with WHO on selected activities, including, running national awareness campaigns, releasing new digital tools, revising policies, engaging youth, training health workers, opening new cessation clinics, supporting nicotine replacement therapies through WHO partners, establishing national toll-free quit lines, making quitting courses available, and more.

“Smokers have up to a 50% higher risk of developing severe disease and death from COVID-19, so quitting is best thing smokers can do to lower their risk from this coronavirus, as well as the risk of developing cancers, heart disease and respiratory illnesses,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. “We urge all countries to play their part by joining the WHO campaign and creating tobacco-free environments that give people the information, support and tools they need to quit, and quit for good.”

“To help tobacco users to commit to be quitters and winners, we are using digital aids to release the WHO Quit Challenge chatbot and Artificial Intelligence digital health worker Florence, and making advocacy material available in 30 languages,” added Dr Rüdiger Krech, Director Health Promotion, WHO.

The Quit Challenge gives daily notifications of tips and encouragement for up to 6 months to help people remain tobacco free. It is available for free on WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger and WeChat.

Globally, roughly 39% of men and 9% of women use tobacco. The highest smoking rates are currently found in Europe at 26%, with projections only showing a 2% decrease by 2025 if urgent government action is not taken.

Director-General’s Tobacco Control Awards

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has given special recognition awards for tobacco control to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of India, Dr Harsh Vardhan and to the Tobacco Control Research Group at the University of Bath, UK.

Dr Harsha Vardhan was instrumental in the 2019 national legislation that bans E-cigarettes and heated tobacco products (HTPs) in India. The Tobacco Control Research Group in UK has worked relentlessly to expose tobacco industry attempts and tactics to weaken, block or delay tobacco control, thereby helping secure policy change nationally and globally.

Zanu PF MP “Abducts” Villager

Tinashe Sambiri|Zanu PF MP for Chiredzi North, Roy Bhila briefly abducted a villager in Chiredzi, accusing him of disrespecting his orders.

Bila is terrorising villagers in his constituency.

The MP wants to evict the villagers despite the fact that they have a protection order from the High Court.

Below is a position paper compiled by MACRAD Trust on the harassment of Chiredzi villagers by the Zanu PF politician.

ALERT: CHIREDZI NORTH MP ROY BHILLA CONTINUE TERRORISING VULNERABLE GUTSARUZHINJI FAMILIES

Dear Partner

Chiredzi North Member of parliament honourable Roy Bhila, ward 23 Councillor Mr Douglas Mutovo, Chiredzi District assistant district coordinator Mr Machokele, Superintendent Chaunoita from Chiredzi Police and Zanu PF Chiredzi DCC chairperson Mrs F Mabhiza terrorised vulnerable Gutsaruzhinji families despite their high court victory in December 2020.

Thursday 27 May 2021, MP for Chiredzi with his delegation named above visited the Gutsaruzhinji for a dialogue for the first time since after the High court victory for the Gutsaruzhinji families in December 2021.

During the meeting Honourable Bhilla ordered the Gutsaruzhinji families not to irrigate their crops using the Mkwasine irrigation canal as there are not the permanent residents of that area.

The outspoken MP dismissed the high court order which gives the Gutsaruzhinji power to return back to their land. In his address he dismissed the high court order and ordered the 52 Gutsaruzhinji villagers to leave the land to an unknown destination.

Honourable Roy Bhila ordered the arrest of Peter Kavele and drove away with him in the back of the assistant district coordinator Mr Machokele’s vehicle.

Peter was being accused for disrespecting the MP during his address. The Honourable member did not give Gutsaruzhinji families time to ask their question. Peter was later dropped off 7km away from his home. The Member of Parliament, assistant district coordinator, police and Zanu-Pf structures are supporting the Nyangambe families to violently evict the 52 Gutsaruzhinji villagers from the land to pave way for sugarcane plots along the Mkwasine irrigation canal.

The MP is sponsoring violence, in June 11 2020 a woman and a six month child was kidnapped, property, food and buildings were destroyed by the Nyangambe family. The matter was reported to Mkwasine police station and the accused were released and since then the police are yet to serve the victims with the court date.

Despite the court order their MP had to instruct Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) not to reconnect water trying to make life hard for them. Before the conflict the families used to cultivate all year round using the Mkwasine irrigation canal nearby. MACRAD is greatly shocked by the behaviour of the MP, councillor, assistant district coordinator and the police for failing to respect the rights of the Gutsaruzhinji families. Since the conflict in June 2020 the district coordinator and his assistant never set their foot to Gutsaruzhinji and these families never get social welfare support despite their situation.

The families harvested nothing from the previous season as the conflict was still underway. Currently the families are surviving on sugarcane on a daily basis. The families are also denied access to health services at Nyangambe clinic but the MP, council and assistant district coordinator are unable to resolve these critical issues. MACRAD is going to continue engaging the relevant stakeholders involved so that the matter will be addressed without violating other people’s rights.

Mnangagwa Gimmick To Use Nehanda Statue To Pacify Jobless Youths Will Not Work…

NEHANDA STATUE TO PACIFY THE ALIENATED, EXCLUDED AND MARGINALIZED YOUTH, PROVIDE TWO MILLION JOBS PROMISED BY ZANU PF AND AS ICING FOR THE CAKE, EFFECT LIFTING OF SANCTIONS.

By Valerie Karimakwenda MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Organising Secretary UK and Ireland Assembly

Nehanda was a selfless individual whose life she sacrificed for freedom of her people and their subsequent liberation.

She paid the ultimate sacrifice, such as the burden of leadership against tyranny and oppression. It thus is not tribute nor honorary respect for Zanu pf to immortalize the fearless icon, Nehanda.

It rather is sacrilege and Nehanda must be turning in her grave, for her name to be associated with rapist, thieves and sadistic killers which is Zanu pf. What Nehanda stands for is exactly an antithesis to Zanu pf evil and self-serving philosophy. This raises thus a crucial point about the intention of Zanu pf, despite its futility, just like preceding Zanu pf intentions, designs and strategies meant for realization of a one party state. Exposing the chicken logic intention is thus the focus of this article.

If you are a cotton farmer, got groceries for your cotton deliveries last year, or yet to get the unappreciative payment I the form of groceries, how would an immortalized Nehanda appreciate your investments? Or assuming you are a teacher in Hoyo, Mash Central, remunerated with a salary not reflective of the inflationary and volatile environment, how would that improve your life, the statue that is?

A snake bites you in Dande, venomous, will you reach the hospital on time, given the lack of ambulances? Even if you reach hospital in record time, are there any guarantees that anti-venom will be available and at your disposal? Will the taxpayers fly you to a military hospital in Beijing?

What is the utility of these questions? They serve to highlight the point that Nehanda would have appreciated being immortalized by a government that is legitimate, governing with the consensus of the people and embodying their popular will. She would very much have had liked a government immortalizing her to be sensitive to the needs of their people, prioritizing their welfare of paramountcy proportions.

Zanu pf is neither legitimate, nor does it govern with people’s consensus. Its illegitimacy had to be decided in a captured court overshadowed by a pliant and sycophantic Malaba. So why would Zanu pf take upon itself to immortalize the liberation icon, Nehanda? What is there to gain? Except perpetually guaranteed misery and Zanu pf signature suffering? That is for the sieged Zimbabwean. For Zanu pf, and its clients, the story is entirely different. This is to be taken in the environmental context Zanu pf has begot.

The statue immortalizing Nehanda is a means to a degenerate end for Zanu pf, part of its futile strategy. This is a futile strategy engineered to augment political longevity and survival of Zanu pf so that it can perpetually plunder and pillage people’s wealth.

Zanu pf would thus have futile strategies to address symptoms instead of deep seated problems which it caused by its aspirations of a one party state. These futile aspirations of Zanu pf for a one party state are the causal factors that compelled Nehanda to stand up against tyranny, and to forfeit her life in the fight for freedom and liberation.

It is comforting however unpleasant that her prophecy of hr bones rising up against tyranny and oppression is coming to pass, if one were to consider personalities like the nonpartisan and independent Erica Ndewera, the uncowering and fierce Mamombe. These are the kind of people whose calibre Nehanda would have liked to play a critical role in immortalizing her. Her modern inspired warriors in the face of Zanu pf injustice.

Diversion, what would otherwise be known as deception in military and intelligence circles is the utility of the Nehanda statue. Diversion from what? This is a crucial question whose answer is consequential of a eureka moment.

When you have victims of the destructive cyclone Idai still living in tents, months after the cyclone, sadistic Zanu pf prioritized a statue of a dead woman who would have preferred that the manpower behind the statue building be directed to Manicaland where the cyclone devastated, as well as the material, money used to source the material. But Zanu pf thought otherwise. There was no utility in that. Utility that would give Zanu pf an opportunity of grandstanding.

Grandstanding amidst a sea of poverty compounded by a humanitarian cluster mess. Apparently all is well for Zanu pf, so is everywhere else in Zimbabwe. This is not what Nehanda would think or what the generality of suffering Zimbabweans think.

The diversion or rather the deception mentioned above has crucial utility of serving as blinkers reinforcement on what Zanu pf assumes is an apathetic, misinformed population.

The reinforcement of blinkers maintained by a repressed, centralized media is to keep the people from awakening after realizing that the power Zanu pf illegitimately is retaining, without their consensus, they can recover it from Zanu pf, and consequently loan it the tranquil opposition, sensitive to the welfare of the people, which is of herculean paramountcy. Tranquil transition into power, legitimately, for Zanu pf is an existential crisis.

The opposition gaining the leavers of power with the consent of the people, endowed with popular will is an existential crisis for Zanu pf because it means a prompt return to constitutionalism, a democratized society bulwarked with rule of law, accelerated devolution of power and a promotion of a culture of accountability and transparency, with demilitarization of state institutions and the military returning to barracks. The existential threat against and targeting Zanu pf manifests in the restoration of the rule of law, which will compel Zanu pf to be transparent about the people’s plundered and pillaged wealth, while being accountable for the gross and atrocious human and property rights violations. This is what Zanu pf is trying to avoid, by resorting to futile deterrent measures such as the Nehanda statue against such uncertain developments for Zanu pf.

In Zimbabwean culture, there is a saying that whatever flies will eventually lands and that nothing last forever. This has been proven true many times.

This attitude and nation tearing entitlement of Zanu pf was once characteristic of Smith and his Unilateral Declaration of Independence government, and preceding governments, but where are they now? They flew, and now are landed, never to fly again.

As the anthem of the nature of these articles rest on, that being the futility of Zanu pf attempts to stop, only succeeding to delay the inevitable, they too will land, the opposition will tranquilly gain power, and restore order to the chaos engineered and initiated by Zanu pf ending Zanu pf bloody and tight fisted reign of terror.

Beneficiary Of Mnangagwa Amnesty Kills Neighbour…

A prisoner who was released from WhaWha Prison in Gweru under the Presidential amnesty is now on the run after he allegedly attacked and killled a neighbour whom he accused of having an extra marital affair with his wife while he was incarcerated.

Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson said police were now hunting for the former prisoner, Tinashe Taruva of Village 1 Musena Mvuma on murder charges after he on Sunday night, allegedly teamed up with a friend and fatally assaulted Shepherd Chibunda over an alleged extra marital affair with his wife while he was away serving jail term.

“Taruva and his other accomplice, Jimmy Kutambura confronted the now deceased, Shepherd Chibunda while accusing him of having an affair with his wife whilst he was in jail. Gunshot Wound Discovered On Late Prominent Byo Lawyer

By A Correspondent- A prominent Bulawayo lawyer who allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday afternoon was found with a gun in his hand and a gunshot wound on his head, police have confirmed.

Norman Pattison, a managing partner at Webb, Low and Barry law firm, allegedly committed suicide yesterday afternoon at his Bradfield home. He was 64 years old.

Bulawayo Police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the development. He said:

We received a case of sudden death by shooting which is investigated as a suspected suicide case.

Insp Ncube said the information received was that the deceased was not feeling well and he was staying with his wife.

The wife left him around 10 o’clock in the morning in bed but alive and having spoken to him.

Said Insp Ncube:

When she returned around 1300 hours, she found him lifeless in a pool of blood and we received the report and we attended.

He had a gunshot wound and he was holding on to a revolver with four rounds and one cartridge.

… his finger was at the firing pin which we call the trigger.

As opposed to the fact that it was at a business centre, it was at a residential area; he passed on at his residential place.

Insp Ncube said the body was taken for post-mortem. He urged people to seek counselling when they have something worrying them.

“Stop The Greed”; ZCTU Lashes Out At CZI

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has lashed out at the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) for calling for the suspension of Statutory Instrument 127 of 2021.

ZCTU said CZI is not a victim of a bad policy and its call for the suspension of the SI is motivated by greed as it has been colluding with the government to exploit workers and consumers.

In a statement, the workers’ representative body called for social dialogue, saying business should not be allowed to dictate what must happen. ZCTU said:

The call by [the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries] for immediate suspension of SI 127 without a clear call for an equitable economic policy aimed at addressing the mismatch between RTGS salaries and prices pegged in USD black market rates is irresponsible and motivated by greed.

While it is true that SI 127 has caused serious troubles in the market, these are just symptoms of deeper economic inequalities obtaining in the country.

Businesses and government have been colluding to exploit workers and now is the time to correct this.

We reiterate our position that businesses are not victims but accomplices in exploiting workers and consumers. Therefore businesses must not be allowed to dictate what must happen

We need a new social contract that is a product of inclusive social dialogue.

The government last week gazetted SI 127 of 2021 which compels business to peg prices of goods and services in line with the official exchange rate.

The new regulations penalise those found on the wrong side of the law including businesses refusing to transact in the local dollar.

Meanwhile, CZI has called for the suspension of SI 127 of 2021 to allow for dialogue between government and business.

Warriors Striker Prince Dube Extends Contract

Prince Dube

Warriors striker Prince Dube has extended his contract with Tanzanian club Azam by two years.

Azam announced Dube’s contract extension on Tuesday and declared that they had no intentions of selling the striker anytime soon. The club said in a statement:

We are excited to enter a new two-year contract with our Zimbabwe international striker Prince Dube. That contract will make Dube continue inside the Azam Complex until 2024.

Dube, whom we signed this season, has been our key player so far and is our leading scorer in the Mainland League with 14 goals, and apart from that, he has managed 17 goals for the team in all competitions, with the other three coming in the FA Cup.

Fear those liars outside there, Dube is going nowhere, he is here at Azam Complex.

Highlanders sold Dube to Azam in August 2020 for a reported US$50 000 fee and inserted a clause in the deal that entitles them to 30 per cent of the amount the Tanzanian club sells him for.

Tanzanian premiership champions Simba SC were reportedly interested in the 23-year-old Zimbabwean international following his goal-scoring streak for the “Ice-cream makers”.

Azam sit third on the league table with 60 points with four games left while Simba are left with nine games and lead the pack with 64 points.-statemedia

Herald Lied Claiming There’s Infighting In MDC Alliance

PANICKING ZANU PF IN PROPAGANDA OVERDRIVE

The MDC-Alliance notes with concern ZANU PF’s continued abuse of state media for its propaganda drive. In the Herald yesterday, they published a mischievous article through Fungisai Kwaramba projecting a false image of chaos and infighting within the People’s Party.

Charlton Hwende

Abused Woman Sobs In Court

By A Correspondent- A woman sobbed in the dock as she narrated how her husband has been physically and verbally abusing her in front of their children.

Kealebuha Matibela from Old Magwegwe suburb in Bulawayo has had no peace since 2005 when her husband Edward Ncube married her.

He would accuse her of petty issues and after that he would bash her.

Ncube would not give her money for the upkeep of the children.

Seeing that Ncube was an absent husband because he was failing to give her money for the upkeep of their children, Matibela would search his pockets during the night when Ncube was asleep and take money and buy food.

But her abusive husband would pummel her for that and would even hurl insults at her.

Matibela has been going through a rough patch in her marriage for close to 21 years and has pulled all stops to save her shaky marriage, but her efforts have come to nothing.

She has engaged her aunt in a bid to talk to her husband, but she failed and even her husband’s brother’s efforts came to naught.

Matibela had to move out of the house to rent in Tshabalala suburb. But her estranged husband would follow her and hit her while accusing her of deserting him with his children.

Seeing that her aunt and her husband’s relatives had failed to talk to her husband, Matibela approached the civil court for intervention.

“I’m applying for a protection order against my husband Edward Ncube, he is very abusive. He is in the habit of beating me in the presence of our children whenever we have an argument. He does not give me money for the upkeep of our children. Last week I bought groceries with the money that he had given me for safe keeping.

“He got angry and beat me infront of the children. I then went to rent somewhere, he followed me and beat me and insulted the children. He is also threatening to kill me,” she said in between sobs.

The presiding magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube granted Matibela the protection order against her husband.

Edward was ordered not to physically and verbally abuse his estranged wife. He was also ordered not to visit her at her place until their differences are resolved.

Couple Fight Over Assets

By A Correspondent- Divorce is one of the most difficult chapters that people may encounter in their lives, and it can get much more complicated when estranged couples fail to agree to split assets fairly.

A Bulawayo woman is in a horrible situation after her estranged husband threatened to expose explosive and private details of their failed marriage to the media if she didn’t remove a vehicle and house from their divorce list of assets.

Sitshengisiwe Ndhlovu nee Ncube from Pumula East claimed her estranged husband Khumbulani Ndhlovu was trying to blackmail her after she filed for divorce at the Bulawayo High Court.

The aggrieved Sitshengisiwe, a supplies clerk at the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) last week rushed to the Bulawayo Civil Court to slap her estranged husband, a trainee engineman also at the NRZ with a protection order so that he should not reveal her unsavoury shenanigans.

“I am the applicant in this matter. The respondent is Khumbulani Ndhlovu. We got married in terms of the Marriages Act Chapter 5:11 in 2009. We separated in 2019 and I filed for divorce in April 2021 and it’s still pending at the (Bulawayo) High Court.

“The respondent has been threatening me concerning the proposed sharing of property in the divorce summons that I served him. He is insisting that if I don’t instruct my lawyers to remove the vehicle and house from the list of assets, he will tarnish my image by engaging journalists to defame me,” complained Sitshengisiwe.

She said her husband had also threatened to embarrass her at work.

“He has also threatened to come to my workplace to embarrass me. He has also threatened to burn any property that is going to be awarded to me.

“I am now emotionally and psychologically disturbed as a result of his threats. I also fear that he could physically abuse me because he has always been physically abusive during the course of our marriage,” she said.
Khumbulani, however, disputed his estranged wife’s accusations.

“I have never assaulted her or done anything wrong to her. From her application it’s clear that she is just trying to harass me. I can’t be barred from NRZ premises because that is also where I’m working as a student,” he said.

Sitshengisiwe’s request was dismissed by the magistrate Nkosinomusa Ncube for lack of merit.

Harare City Council Announces That It Is Illegal To Control Traffic At Intersections

Harare City Council has said it is illegal for civilians to control traffic at intersections.

Harare central business district and its feeder roads resemble a traffic jungle not only during peak hours but even during “normal” hours as some motorists create imaginary their and fourth lanes.

Posting on microblogging site Twitter, the local authority those caught doing so will be prosecuted.

It said:

Civilians not allowed to control traffic. Law will take its course against such behaviour.

The statement by Harare City Council was received with anger, with Dhara Blessed Mhlanga saying, “When those who are not doing their job have it taken away from them. Happy to tweet from the comfort of their offices. So heartless and heartbreaking. So what’s the crime – haya.”

Twitter user shonaghmwa challenged Council to make sure that all traffic lights are working at all times rather than tweeting. “You should be tweeting that you making sure that every traffic light is working & assigning police to intersections that get busier and would like to thank those that were assisting and that you widening roads…”

Gango Guy said, “I support government initiatives but you should acknowledge kuti those boys helped motorists when you couldn’t. You should have apologized for not being able to do this before. Then thank the civilians that stepped up. And finally notified us of your intentions. We look fwd to seeing u.”

Shylet Maganga said if it were not for civilian traffic controllers, traffic would hardly move at intersections.

“Why do civilians have to control traffic? Will civilians control traffic when responsible authorities are there? Without the help of civilians, you can spend the whole night at an intersection in Zimbabwe. Think before you post?”, she asked.

Simba said: “Misoro yenyu yaka zara manyoka. Street kids have kept order while you are busy munching ratepayers money, with the little bond cash they get they invested in bibs and whistles. What have you done? Just fix the traffic lights not chase the civilians helping you.”

“Threats Of Bloodbath Against Chitungwiza Residents Suicidal”

By Hon Job Wiwa Sikhala- I have seen a statement released by Chitungwiza Municipality signed by one, Evangelista Machona, threatening violence and bloodbath against our people in Chitungwiza who are involved in lawful business as stupid, uninformed and scandalous.

Chitungwiza Municipality, through underqualified, corrupt and overzealous bureaucracy which acts as agents of central government have not been providing us, the residents of Chitungwiza with service delivery. We are aware that elected Councillors have been rendered useless by the bureaucracy they are asked to report to.

This strange execution of duties against the Operative law, governing local governance has been taking place at Chitungwiza Municipality for a long long time and we have been closely watching.

Giving 72 hours ultimatum, to business persons who have been the heart and soul of providing household needs to residents without recourse is dangerous. The fun part of the statement from Chitungwiza Municipality is its accompanied thread of loss of life as if they are talking about the life of wildlife.

What we want to know is whether there is a full Council resolution to the threats of bloodshed or it originates from bureaucratic elements being fed same by central government.

Evangelista Machona and those who have send her, should know that we don’t take lightly threats to kill our people. Threatening loss of life cannot go unnoticed. Openly declaring murder against our people will never be tolerated.

The people of Chitungwiza will organize themselves into cells to deck death threats. We are waiting for the Municipality’s threats of loss of life with serious preparedness to protect our lives.

We are demanding a full Council resolution to the same. Pontificating without following due process can not be tolerated.

We the people of Chitungwiza want to enjoy our peace and tranquility without threats to our lives.

“My Stay In Office Is Legal”: Chief Justice Luke Malaba

By A Correspondent- Chief Justice Luke Malaba has asked the High Court to throw out an application by a constitutional law activist for his arrest on contempt of court charges, insisting that his stay in office was legal.

Malaba’s term of office as chief justice ended a fortnight ago after the High Court ruled that he had ceased to be the country’s top judicial officer on May 15, the day he turned 70 and that a recent constitutional amendment allowing the President to extend his reign did not apply to him.

Last week, Malaba resumed his duties on the belief that the High Court ruling had been suspended by an appeal filed by Attorney-General Prince Machaya and Justice minister Ziyambi Ziyambi.

However, Musa Kika, who challenged the extension of Malaba’s term in the initial case, disputed that an appeal against a declarator suspended the operation of a judgment and has asked the High Court to find him in contempt and jail him for six months.

The case is set to be heard tomorrow before High Court judges Justices Webster Chinamhora, Amy Tsanga and Sylvia Chirawu-Mugomba.

Yesterday, Malaba filed his response saying he legally resumed his duties as the top judge following the appeal filed at the Supreme Court by Ziyambi and Machaya against the initial ruling.

“Consequent upon the filing of the appeals, I am advised that regardless of by whom the appeals were noted, the legal effect thereof was to suspend the operation of the two orders relied upon by the applicant (Kika) in this matter,” Malaba said.

“I, therefore, legally resumed my duties as the Chief Justice of Zimbabwe following the noting of appeal by the Minister of Justice … and the Attorney-General on the basis of the interpretation of the law to the effect that the noting of an appeal suspends an order granted by the court, not only for the two appellants but for the world at large.

“The applicant has taken a different view of the legality of my return to office, and seeks an order against me for contempt of this court alleging that I deliberately violated an order of the court while ignoring the facts set out above and the possible conflicting legal positions that can arise on the facts.”

He said the granting of the order of contempt would be presumptive and a miscarriage of justice.

“I deny that the country has an acting Chief Justice. The learned Deputy Chief Justice (Elizabeth Gwaunza) acted as Chief Justice in accordance with the law during the time there was no appeal against the judgment and thereafter, at a time when I was out of office,” Malaba argued.

“The acting capacity ceases upon resumption of duty by the incumbent. I thus deny that my resumption of duty was and continues to be in defiance of this court. I deny, further, that I have undermined and continue to undermine the authority of the court. I have not put the Judiciary into disrepute as alleged.”

He said Kika failed to interpret the law and argued that his application was not based on a good cause as the process that led to his appointment by President Emmerson Mnangagwa was not set aside.

Malaba’s case has gripped the country, and former Cabinet minister in the late former President Robert Mugabe’s government, Jonathan Moyo, claimed on Twitter yesterday that Judicial Service Commission (JSC) secretary Walter Chikwana had arm-twisted judges to hear the Malaba contempt of court case.

“JSC secretary Walter Chikwana approached a judge of the High Court allocated to hear the contempt of court charges against Justice Luke Malaba, to influence other judges on the panel to rule in favour of Luke Malaba.

“This is a judicial scandal and the Judicial Service Commission must investigate JSC secretary Walter Chikwana and the judge concerned. The judge must be exposed and he must recuse himself from the case. Justice Francis Bere was investigated and removed from the bench for a less serious offence involving trying to influence a lawyer.”

Chikwana could not be reached for comment.

Meanwhile, Young Lawyers Association of Zimbabwe and war veteran Frederick Mutanda have filed an urgent chamber application at the High Court seeking an order barring Malaba from executing duties of Chief Justice until finalisation of his case.

“An order granted on 15 May remains in full force and effect notwithstanding the appeals noted against it,” the applicants said through their lawyers, Honey & Blanckenberg.-Newsday

“MDC A Violence A Constant Threat To Be Stopped Once For All”- Devil Quoting Bible For His Devilish Purposes

By Patrick Guramatunhu- “Time and again many have inked articles articulating how the MDC-Alliance is wired in violence, with the streak running so deep that removing it simply means an end to the political outfit that was formed to push the whiteman’s agenda,” wrote Fungi Kwaramba, in The Herald.

“That of course cannot stop us today to pause and reflect on the damage these pseudo democrats have brought to the country’s body politic.

“Just last week the MDC-A yobs were on each other throats, in a self-disembowelling exercise that simply demonstrates to the world and yonder that this political outfit, with no clear policy definition, direction and gravitas is now gravitating towards the end.”

Kwaramba is a known Zanu PF apologist, and this article was but a prologue to the coming wanton Zanu PF violence.

There is no deny that there are violent thugs in the MDC family and the party’s democratic credentials leave a lot to be desired. Still the violence in MDC is nothing compared to that in Zanu PF. Worst of all, Zanu PF has captured and corrupted state institutions like the judiciary, Police, Army and CIO making them a Zanu PF department in all but name. And so the Zanu PF inspired lawlessness and violence often involve state institutions, they have been institutionalised, and therefore near impossible to stamp out.

Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies made it crystal clear that the bush war would continue if the party lost the 1980 elections. The party kept a large contingent of its freedom fighters out of the Assembly Points, contrary to the Lancaster House Agreement, to spread the stern warning.

The people voted to end the war but in doing so allowed Zanu PF to not only get into power but go on and impose a de facto one-party dictatorship and absolute power. The threat of Zanu PF instigated lawlessness and violence has hung over our head like the Sword of Damocles.

Mnangagwa’s 2017 “Zimbabwe is open for business!” mantra has failed to revive the country’s economy. The flood of investors has never materialised because investors are a savvy and shrewd lot; they saw the lie behind the claim the November 2017 coup as a transformative event. Zimbabwe remained a pariah state after the coup or be it under new dictator. Investors do not do business in a pariah state.

So, the economic meltdown before the coup has only got worse. The corona virus pandemic has dragged the economic situation even deeper into the abyss. The economy has all but collapsed, unemployment has soared to 90%, basic services such as education and health care have collapsed and 49% of our people now live in abject poverty. It is not surprising the nation is on edge, the people are desperate for meaningful political change and an end to 41 years and counting of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF misrule.

Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies’ response to demands for democratic reform and meaningful change is to scale-up the violence. And so the party is blaming MDC A violence to justify its own use of violence!

“In the MDC-A, we have an organisation that is a constant threat to the prevailing peace, when youths in the MDC-A, obviously at the behest of their godless leaders, are in a disconcerting habit of championing acts of terror that threaten the people, there is need to put a stop to this, once and for all,” argued Fungi Kwaramba.

How sickening is that! The Devil quoting the Bible for his devilish purpose.

Then the devil *took Him along into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and he *said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written:

‘He will give His angels orders concerning You’;

and

‘On their hands they will lift You up,

So that You do not strike Your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written: ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Matthew 4: 5 to 7.

There is a mountain of evidence that Zanu PF’s 40 years of corrupt and tyrannical rule has been a complete disaster for the nation and the people’s desperation for change is completely justified. However, after 40 years of enjoying absolute power Zanu PF thugs have become addicted to it, they have captured all the state institutions and will use them to resist the people’s demands for change.

Zimbabwe had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to get even one reform implemented and the nation has paid dearly for it ever since.

Ending the Zanu PF dictatorship is not mission impossible. It will require radical thinking, focus and vision so the next chance to end the dictatorship is not wasted. By continuing to follow blindly the corrupt and incompetent MDC leaders, we are shows that we have learnt nothing from the past and are therefore not yet ready for democratic change.

“Time To Think About Protecting The Vote In 2023”

By Sindile Ncube- We are about 24 months away from another general election in Zimbabwe. What’s concerning is that there is a whiff of public disinterest about the election, maybe it’s exasperation, perhaps because people are invested in the hustle and bustle of trying to make a living in Zimbabwe.

But people also want change. No one in their right mind would want a continuation of the status quo in Zimbabwe. No one apart from Zanu subscribers and the party’s hangers on who by the way include ghastly pseudo clerics who have so much influence on people’s lives for reasons which will shame our generation when our grandchildren do a case study on us.

There are influencers who have admirably started a campaign to get people to register to vote in the 2023 general election. Indeed, if people want change they have to register to vote. But as we know, in Zimbabwe, the act of casting a vote itself is not exhaustive of the democratic process. We all know the problem is not so much that people don’t come out to vote, it’s the fact that general elections are rigged in favour of Zanu.

What is needed, in addition to a strong campaign for vote registration, is an equally coordinated nationwide effort to protect that vote. Again let me reiterate an obvious observation, registering to vote when the vote is not protected will be as futile as all the previous general elections in Zimbabwe.

While I’m no electoral strategist, anyone with eyes will realise what we are trying to avoid here. Protecting the vote should be defined as a concerted effort by Zimbabweans who believe in democracy towards ensuring that votes are not corrupted during their storage, transportation and counting.

There are numerous actions which need to be undertaken to close all the loopholes that Zanu habitually use to rig the vote. For example, after people have cast their vote, the ballot boxes will need to be closely monitored every second until after all votes have been counted and collated.

If ballot boxes are to be moved from one point to another, they need to be monitored. The people responsible for storing or the transportation of ballot boxes need to be identified on camera and their veracity checked.

As a matter of fact, the entire process of monitoring the votes needs to be captured on camera in a systematic way. The only way to do this is perhaps by having cameras in and outside every polling station, teams on the ground watching everything, and then uploading the footage every hour on a website specifically dedicated to monitoring the voting process.

Admittedly, this requires serious infrastructure, and serious funding.  That is the extent of the kind of hard work that is needed to make a vote count in a Zimbabwean general election, and this needs to start now.

Mwonzora Pushes For President Nelson Chamisa’s Arrest

By A Correspondent- The Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC-T is seeking the arrest of opposition leader Nelson Chamisa on contempt of court charges, claiming that he allegedly defied court orders to step down as the MDC Alliance president.

MDC-T is claiming ownership of the MDC Alliance party name.

In a statement, Mwonzora spokesperson Lloyd Damba said Chamisa could not rebuke former Chief Justice Luke Malaba for contempt of court as he had continued to serve as the MDC Alliance party president, disregarding a High Court ruling that nullified his leadership in 2019.

In March 2019, High Court judge Justice Edith Mushore nullified Chamisa’s MDC-T presidency and ordered the party to organise an extra-ordinary congress to choose a new leader within a month.

But the youthful leader pressed ahead with his party’s planned political activities since then pending his appeal against the judgment, which he again lost at the Supreme Court.

“Chamisa is in contempt of court, not once but several times. He is still using the name MDC Alliance even when he knows that the name belongs to senator Mwonzora,” Damba said.

“He is still calling himself MDC Alliance president in clear violation and contempt of the same courts. The very same judge Justice Mushore, who ruled that Chief Justice Malaba must relinquish office because his term had expired nullified Nelson Chamisa’s presidency. But he now wades into the Malaba case and celebrates the judgment. He did so when he himself failed to follow a similar High Court ruling.”

“We are in the process of reclaiming everything, but we will do it strategically and strategies are not for public consumption.”

MDC Alliance deputy party spokesperson Clifford Hlatywayo dismissed Damba’s threats describing them as “desperate” measures by the MDC-T to score own political goals through dragging the courts into their rivalry.

“The Judiciary must not be dragged into mud by failed politicians. MDC Alliance is given its mandate by the people. Political prowess should be proven by votes and not the courts.

“Political parties are formed as voluntary association. How can someone boast of a party without supporters? President Nelson Chamisa will not be disrupted to defend the people-driven Constitution by political puppets that have been using State institutions to gain significance in the political arena,” Hlatywayo said.

Legal expert advocate Tawanda Mapuranga said Mwonzora and his allies were failing to correctly interpret the High Court ruling which nullified Chamisa’s presidency in the MDC-T party.

“Chamisa had no case to answer on contempt of court charges as he had ceased to be the MDCT leader. Legislators under the MDC Alliance party were recalled from Parliament on the basis that they had ceased to be members of the MDCT party, which justifies the ruling that Chamisa was not leader of the MDC-T in accordance with the High Court ruling. A contention that he is a leader of the MDC Alliance is now a clear political issue which cannot be settled using the courts. There has to be a clear distinction between legal and political issues,” he said.-Newsday

Duo Nabbed Over Dagga

By A Correspondent- Two male suspects were yesterday arrested in Mutare after they were found in possession of 1 080kg of dagga.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

Nyathi said Larry Clay Manyellah (38) and Probe Zijena (21) were travelling in a green Toyota Granvia vehicle along Mutare-Masvingo Highway when they were stopped by police at Hotsprings, but failed to comply, hit roadblock drums before speeding off towards Mutare.

“The police team gave chase and alerted all police checkpoints in the city to be on the lookout for the suspects,” he said.

“On realising that all police checkpoints were alerted, the two suspects headed to Chikanga location in Mutare, where they were involved in a minor road accident where they abandoned their vehicle and fled into a nearby maize field.”

Nyathi said the police attended the accident scene and found dagga in the suspects’ vehicle.

Nyathi said further investigations led to the arrest of the two, while one suspect is still at large.

“The suspects have since appeared before a Mutare magistrate, where they were remanded in custody pending bail application,” he said.

Corruption Accused Prosecutor Resigns

By A Correspondent- Bulawayo prosecutor Thobekani Nyathi, who was implicated in an alleged corrupt activity involving principal public prosecutor Chris Mutangadura, reportedly resigned after the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) began investigating him for criminal abuse of office, NewsDay reported.

Nyathi had been sucked into Mutangadura’s alleged criminal abuse of office case which is under investigations by Zacc, case number HCR 21/05/2020. The docket is now complete. Mutangadura was summoned by Zacc investigators three weeks ago with the view of detaining him and taking him to court.

But Zacc chairperson Loice MoyoMatanda allegedly intervened and stopped the process, leading to the docket being shelved.

However Matanda-Moyo has denied the allegations.

Mutangadura was under investigation for corruptly aiding his business partner Lungisani Ncube to get a forensic examination of forged papers by a private handwriting expert, LT Nhari, after bypassing government expert, Clara Beatrice Tendai Gombakomba.

The report was made by Lovemore Kutamahufa.

Mutangadura had allegedly lied that Gombakomba had no capacity to examine the samples, an assertion she denied in her statement to the Zacc investigators.

Ncube was accusing his partner Kutamahufa, lawyer Jonathan Tsvangirai and FBC bank manager Tazviona Mutandwa of forging his signature and tendering his property as collateral for a bank loan facility.

It is alleged that when investigations on Mutangadura commenced, Nyathi, who was the trial prosecutor, resigned.

Nyathi confirmed the resignation yesterday

“Sorry, I am no longer a public prosecutor. I used to deal with it (Kutamahufa’s case), but I left prosecution. I left a long time ago. Kutamahufa’s case is now being handled by another prosecutor. I will forward you the contact numbers,” he said.

However, a source in the prosecution said Nyathi resigned after Zacc made investigations concerning Mutangadura’s case.

“He resigned and is now in private practice with a law firm in Gwanda. Remember, there was also a letter of complaint against him which had been written by the accused (Kutamahufa), accusing him of aiding the complainant (Ncube) with documents so that he could take them to a private handwriting expert. He had been asked to recuse himself from the matter,” said the source.

The prosecutor had also been caught in the middle of a storm after he allegedly connived with the complainant, Ncube, to remove one of the accused Tsvangirai from the charge sheet reportedly in a desperate bid to get a State witness against Kutamahufa.

He reportedly took instructions directly from Mutangadura to prosecute Kutamahufa using the fraudulent private handwriting expert’s report.

Tsvangirai had been charged together with Kutamahufa and FBC bank manager Mutandwa in a US$75 000 FBC Bank loan deal following recommendations from Mutangadura.

Tsvangirai had reportedly been engaged by FBC Bank to register the bond.

Kutamahufa is director in Oman Obrie Private Limited, which benefited from the loan.

Reports are that Nyathi, after conniving with Ncube, on January 29 last year approached his lawyers Mathonsi Ncube Law Chambers to write to the prosecution to stop charging Tsvangirai.

“We write to you at the (instance) of Lungisani Ncube, the complainant in this matter, who has advised us that he is not aggrieved by, and is of the view that Jonathan Tsvangirai’s conduct in this matter does not render him crime liable. Our client is, therefore, of the view that it is not necessary that he be prosecuted. We hope you find the above in order,” wrote Mathonsi Ncube Law Chambers.

The move also prompted Kutamahufa on May 21, last year to write a letter of complaint against Nyathi’s conduct to his bosses in Bulawayo and asked for him to recuse himself because of his closeness with Ncube as they reportedly hailed from the same home area in Gwanda.

Nyathi is also accused of aiding Ncube to retrieve copies of the alleged forged documents from the police to the private handwriting expert Nhari so that he could regularise his initial report on Ncube’s alleged forged signature after he was roped in by his former boss, Mutangadura.

However, in their statements to Zacc investigators, National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) bosses distanced themselves from Mutangadura, adding that they were not aware of how he got involved in the case.

In her statement to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the former head of NPAZ in Bulawayo, Martha Cheda, said she did not know how Kutamahufa’s docket found itself in Mutangadura’s hands.

Acting Deputy Prosecutor General, Justin Uladi, in his statement to Zacc also said according to records at the head office, there was no evidence that the docket was transferred from Bulawayo to Harare.

Director of the Department of Forensic Sciences in the Home Affairs ministry, Bothwell Takura Mutandiro, also told investigators that the final analyses on handwriting samples were not done because the department was awaiting additional samples from police which they had requested.

Government handwriting expert, Gombakomba, who is also deputy director in the Department of Forensic Sciences, told Zacc investigators that she wrote a report to the Officer-in-Charge CID Fraud in Bulawayo requesting additional samples so that an examination could be concluded.-newsday

Private Security Companies Ill-equiped

By A Correspondent= Private security companies contracted to provide cash-in-transit services are ill-equipped to the extent that some of them use toy guns while transporting clients’ money, police have revealed.

Well-armed security companies, on the other hand, have semi-automatic guns which cannot be used during public shootouts as they can leave a lot of casualties.

Following a series of armed robberies in the city, officials said it is surprising that there is no single security company which has had to exchange fire with robbers.

The security companies are said to be living in the past, employing security guards who are too old and unfit to respond to modern security concerns.

This came out during a meeting between the police, security companies and the business sector on Monday. The meeting was held in the wake of rising cases of armed robberies that have rocked the city.

Some representatives of security companies said if the security guards are not properly remunerated, robberies will continue to be a problem.

Issues to do with shortcutting by largely small security companies who compromise on quality just to get contracts also topped the discussions.

Officer commanding Bulawayo Province Commissioner Patton Mbangwa said security companies are sleeping on the job and providing shoddy service to clients.

“There is a security company which actually gave its guards a toy gun (when) transporting cash, a toy pistol and it’s your money that is being guarded. We are saying security people should shoot at criminals. If you have guns, pistols, you should shoot at those people, shoot the cars, their tyres, you should disable those criminals,” said Comm Mbangwa.

He said the security companies are not security conscious and need to change their behaviour.

“We want to have a paradigm shift in terms of the way our security teams operate. They should operate in such a way that we safeguard what we are given. Let’s not just be a security company by name but let us be serious security companies. You might be aware that one of our colleagues, Romicon Security, who are the ones who were robbed the other day, were ferrying people’s money in a kombi,” he said.

“Obviously, that alone shows that that security company is not serious. These are things that we want to tackle. We are saying we should have armoured vehicles because we are carrying money and people know that. We should harden the target; criminals should not just take that money by merely approaching your vehicle. That thing (kombi) you could not even make a good escape.”

Comm Mbangwa said cases of security guards sleeping on the job are so rampant in the city and some of them do not seem to know their duties.

“Some of your security personnel have reduced themselves to washing people’s hands at entry points, sanitising hands, as opposed to focusing on security matters. They are supposed to be alert and surveilling what is happening. Be seen and be known for what you are employed for, if you are a security person at a shop be monitoring for suspicious people, suspicious groups. Ask yourself why certain people are in the shop and what is the person doing,” said Comm Mbangwa.

He said the incompetence of security companies could create a negative perception among investors that Bulawayo is not investment-friendly.

Comm Mbangwa said police investigations have also led to the conclusion that most heists are a result of inside information.

He cited four raids that were done in the city including Mukuru Zapalala, saying almost each of the raids and burglary cases point to the fact that robbers and burglars had internal information.

“People knew that there was money coming from Victoria Falls to Access Finance Bureau de-Change, the moment the money arrived at Access Finance they were raided. Who was telling them that the money had arrived? That is why we are saying, are our people properly trained in security issues and matters? My wish is for us to put our houses in order. There might be shortfalls and difficulties but let’s have the police coming in as a support measure. If you know that you are expecting a lot of money, why don’t you contact the police? And we are going to deploy people who are going to shoot at criminals,” he said.

Comm Mbangwa said even the business sector does not seem to be security conscious, citing the robbery at Choppies Supermarket in Parklands as an example of laxity even by internal security.

“The whole thing is, are we security conscious as the business sector? We had a certain gentleman who was in that shop for a very long time, but the people in the shop didn’t care about that. He was moving in the shop from 8AM up until the money came (about three hours later) and when the money came, he produced a pistol. Your closed-circuit television (CCTV) is there but no one is there monitoring who is who,” said Comm Mbangwa.

Business Against Crime Forum of Zimbabwe Bulawayo provincial secretary-general Mr Reggie Sibanda said the business sector has to seriously vet their employees as some of them could be working with criminals

“In as much as we want to see results, as business, let us look at our environment, let’s make sure that before we could look for internal help we are covered. Some of the robberies that are taking place leave a lot to be desired,” said Mr Sibanda.

Following Monday’s meeting, it was resolved that another meeting be held next week.

While Monday’s meeting was mainly attended by companies’ junior officers, it was resolved that the next meeting be attended by senior managers from organisations who can decide on steps to be taken by both business and police in improving security in the city.-statemedia

ZACC Descends On Granite Mining Companies In Mutoko

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) says it has started investigating the black granite mining industry in Mutoko following reports that local authorities were being paid peanuts in taxes by mining companies.

Mutoko Rural District Council claims that it is getting a paltry US$1 per tonne of black granite mined from the area.

This was revealed during a Youth Initiative for Community Development anti-corruption symposium held recently in Mutoko.

Zacc prevention and corporate governance acting general manager Munyaradzi Magiga said there was need to investigate the granite mining industry to plug loopholes and ensure that communities benefit from their natural resources.

“We do have those with loads of money getting claims ahead of those who applied for the same for some time. It is disturbing to hear that the local authority (Mutoko) is getting a dollar per tonne of granite. Surely a dollar? We need to investigate and see if this is not corruption by multinational companies,”
he said.

“The granite blocks are going out and we will never recover them. It is a pity that you see a school with thatched roofs near a granite mine, yet council is getting nothing.”

Mutoko is one of the poorest districts in the country despite being home to several granite mining companies.

The granite blocks are exported to Europe, where they are processed into expensive building materials.

“The whole issue around the black granite is confusing. In Zimbabwe, the granite is being classified as quarry, but in Europe, it is a precious mineral. Our government should look into this matter and declare it a mineral,” said a villager.

The symposium was attended by local traditional leaders and youth representatives.-newsday

Mentally Ill Man Who Killed Sister, 5yr Old Nephew Freed

By A Correspondent- A mentally ill Zvishavane man, who killed his sister and her five-year-old son last year in a dispute over his National Social Security Authority (NSSA) documents, was acquitted last Friday after the High Court considered his mental condition.

Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Christopher Dube-Banda ruled that Newton Hove of Madhiye village under Chief Mazvihwa in Zvishavane had a documented history of mental illness.

The judge said Hove could not be held legally responsible for his actions leading to the double murder.

It was the State’s case that on January 8, 2020 at around 7pm, Hove asked for his NSSA documents from his sister saying he wanted to travel to town to access his pension.

When the sister failed to cooperate, Hove lost his temper and struck her with an adze, stabbed her repeatedly until she died.

He later turned to the deceased’s son and killed him using the same weapons, leading to his arrest.-Newsday

52yr Old Woman Axes Man Over Firewood

By A Correspondent- Police in Rushinga, Mashonaland Central province arrested a 52-year-old who went beserk and axed a man who confronted her over cutting fire wood in his field on Sunday.

Eustina Lucia Gomwe of Gondo village was arrested after striking Ruchiva Kayanga of the same village three times on shoulders with an axe.

The provincial police deputy spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the attempted murder.

“I can confirm an attempted murder case in Rushinga where Gomwe struck Kayanga three times with an axe over fire wood dispute,” Dhliwayo said.

Allegations are that Gomwe went to Kayanga’s field to cut firewood but when Kayanga saw her cutting firewood in his field he confronted her.

Gomwe was not happy with the confrontation and charged at Kayanga wielding an axe.

She struck him three times on his shoulders and was restrained from further assault by Temptation Nyamukudza.

Kayanga was rushed to Chimhanda hospital where he is currently admitted and Gomwe was arrested.

Police warned people to desist from violence and urged them to consider dialogue when ever they have differences.

Senior Lawyer Who Committed Suicide Named

Horror Scene As Baby Boy Is Discovered In Burst Sewer

By A Correspondent- There were horror scenes on Saturday when a baby boy was found dead in a burst sewer pipe at a primary school in Bulawayo.

The body of the dead baby popped out of a sewage pond at Lobengula Primary School. The baby is suspected to have been flushed down the toilet within 12 hours of the discovery in what appears to be a case of infanticide.

The gruesome discovery was confirmed by the police in Bulawayo. Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube told the Chronicle,

“I can confirm that the police are investigating a case of terminating pregnancy where on 29 May, a dead infant was discovered by residents in a sewer at Lobengula Primary School. Investigations over the matter are still in progress and awaiting post-mortem.”

Inspector Ncube appealed to members of the public who may have any information concerning the dumping of the baby to contact the police.

“We are appealing to members of the public who might have information on the case or if you know someone who was pregnant but is no longer pregnant. Please report to the nearest police station. I urge members to desist from killing innocent babies, something can be worked out than killing them,”

Under Zimbabwean law, a woman who kills her baby within 6 months of giving birth is charged with infanticide and not murder. The law states that “the balance of her mind is disturbed as a result of giving birth to the child” and prescribes a sentence of not more than 5 years.

However, magistrates frequently give fewer years with some women usually sentenced to perform community service.  A 33-year-old Mutorashanga woman who made headlines after giving birth to a bouncing baby boy before digging a shallow pit in which she buried him alive, was sentenced to perform 210 hours of community service at a local government school

Macheso Loses Two Shows To Covid-19

By A Correspondent- Sungura musician Alick Macheso’s two concerts scheduled for this weekend in South Africa to celebrate his forthcoming 53rd birthday have been cancelled due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in that country.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has since imposed a level two lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Macheso, who turns 53 on June 10, had lined up an early birthday treat with his fans in Johannesburg with a gig at the Germiston Lounge in Germiston on Friday and the following day at Newtown Music Factor in Newtown.

However, Ramaphosa on Sunday announced hard lockdown measures including a night-time curfew which will start at 11 pm while he also cut the number of people allowed to gather.

No more than 100 people can attend events indoors, while the number for those held heldoutside was halved to 250.

In the wake of the COVID-19 announcement, Xtratime Entertainment director Tongai Mbidzo confirmed the postponement of Macheso’s two shows.

“In the interest of public safety, band safety and in compliance with revised COVID-19 restrictions in South Africa announced by President Ramaphosa last night (Sunday) we have decided to put the event on hold until further notice,” he said.

“Computicket will refund all those who had purchased advance tickets. Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted. ”

The sungura king would have been supported by Zimbabwean musicians based across the Limpopo who include Dino Mudondo, Ras Bleds, Nox, Tyfah Guni and Paddy Watts.

Mbidzo said the gigs were meant to celebrate Macheso’s birthday in song and dance, something they used to do with the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi.

“Such shows aim to honour our legends while they are living. We used to do these shows with Mudhara Tuku meant to celebrate their days on earth through song and dance,” he said.

“With such gigs, we give our youngsters based here in South Africa an opportunity to share the stage with the legends.”

Macheso publicist Tich Makahamadze said: “We had done everything for the South African gigs, but we have to abide by the laws of that country especially at a time when everyone is fighting COVID-19.”

Prison Boss Labours To Defend Favouring Detained Mugabe Ministers

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Services (ZPCS), accused of showing favour to incarcerated ex-Cabinet ministers and other public figures by separating them from other inmates and offering them special treatment, has defended its position saying the practice is meant to protect them against violence and harassment.

Speaking during an all-stakeholder anti-graft Indaba organised by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and Transparency International Zimbabwe (TIZ) in Harare recently, ZPCS Deputy Commissioner-General Christine Manhivi said such public figures were prone to abuse and harassment in the cells.

Recently, there was a public outcry after reports filtered that a former Cabinet minister Prisca Mupfumira arrested for corruption-related charges was offered five-star treatment in remand prison.

Reports also made rounds that some prison officers had developed relationships with inmates to an extent of allowing them to be intimate with their partners in solitary cells while serving.

Other inmates were reportedly seen attending family funerals when they are expected to be in prison.

Deputy Comm-Gen Manhivi said prisoners are classified differently and ministers and other public figures fall under the class of those who need protection by removal from others.

She said the treatment of such inmates is not a favour, but ZPCS protects them in terms of the law.

“We have different classes of inmates who, all need protection in terms of the law. All of us are potential prisoners and we must protect inmates as required by the law.

“Ministers and other public figures are prone to verbal and physical abuse when in custody by some angry inmates.
“Recently a female minister who was in remand prison was harassed and threatened with violence by some inmates who accused of failing to build proper cells while in Government.

“We had to remove her and place her in a different cell as a way of protecting her from attack,” she said.

Deputy Comm-Gen Manhivi said the isolation of the minister is not a favour, but ZPCS simply acts in terms of the law.

“That is neither favour nor preferential treatment at all. It’s not about giving them preferential treatment, but it’s a matter of classes.
“We simply separate them from the violent ones in terms of the law,” she said.

The-New Nissan Qashqai

New Alliance CMF-C platform enhances dynamic performance.

Significantly stiffer bodyshell improves response and refinement.

From June 1st, 2021, European media will have the opportunity to take the latest generation of Nissan’s pioneering crossover on its first test drive on European roads.

Reworked steering with quicker ratio for better agility.

New platform designed to accommodate two innovative electrified powertrains.

PARIS, France (Jun. 1, 2021) – Underpinning the all-new Nissan Qashqai is the new Alliance CMF-C platform, which has allowed Nissan’s product-planners, designers and engineers to create a vehicle which succeeds in reconciling the challenging customer demands in terms of design, spaciousness, dynamics and carbon footprint.

The CMF-C platform is a completely new architecture, designed and developed to ensure the vehicles it carries are competitive, offering the driving and ownership experience that customers will need in a time of dramatic progress in the automotive industry.

Stiffer bodyshell

In terms of driving dynamics, one of the most significant factors in the dynamic performance is the overall increase of stiffness in the new Qashqai’s body in white – with a 48% improvement compared to the outgoing model. With a more rigid basis, Nissan’s engineers have been able to more precisely tune the suspension spring and damper rates, knowing they are reacting to the changes in surfaces – not the movements of the platform. This increases precision, response and reduces vibrations.

Despites its overall increase in stiffness, the bodyshell is over 60kg lighter which contributes to the new Qashqai’s overall efficiency, while also reducing inertia when driving, so drivers will feel the improvement in agility.

There are two rear suspension configurations, with a torsion beam being the configuration for two-wheel drive Qashqai on 19-inch wheels or below. The torsion beam has been upgraded from the outgoing Qashqai, with a new upper body insulator which increases local body stiffness and reduces the transmission of vibrations to the passenger compartment. And the addition of an uprated bump stop, which helps to infuse the rear suspension with a more supple motion and protection from shocks.

To maximise the effectiveness of the dampers, their orientation has been changed to a more vertical position which reduces friction and therefore optimises their performance, ensuring better bump absorption and a smoother ride, as well as providing better roll control.

Customers who order their Qashqai with 20-inch wheels or all-wheel drive will enjoy classleading poise and comfort that comes from the multi-link rear suspension configuration. The wheel placement on the road remains optimised through direction changes, as well as camber changes and, most noticeably, roads with poor and bumpy surfaces. The springing gives a connected feeling with the road, with a positive response in bends thanks to well controlled body-roll, without compromising comfort while the damping immediately returns the car to an even keel after undulations. Equally, on both suspension set-ups the insulation from road noise and vibrations remains one of the Qashqai’s finest attributes, with refinement comparable to vehicles from higher segments.

Reworked steering configuration

Drivers of the outgoing Qashqai will immediately notice the positive changes to the steering, where the feeling around the straight-ahead position is more positive and defined. This is a consequence of moving the power assistance motor directly adjacent to the steering rack. This has reduced the feeling of friction through the steering wheel, but gives a more natural increase in steering effort as more steering lock is applied.

The steering ratio has changed from 19.1:1 to 14.7:1, resulting in a quicker response on turn-in. Combined with the stiffer chassis, drivers will immediately detect the improvement in agility, increasing the sense of fun-to-drive. The turning circle remains unchanged compared to the outgoing model at 11.5m.

Another advantage of the CMF-C platform is that it has allowed the fitment of 20-inch wheels, without affecting the turning lock of the front wheels or compromising the ingress and egress of the rear doors.

Two innovative electrified powertrains

Qashqai will come with two different powertrain options, the 1.3-litre petrol with mild hybrid, which is offered with two outputs.

The 12V ALiS (Advanced Lithium-ion battery System) mild hybrid system available on new Qashqai is a more affordable hybrid technology that provides torque assist, extended idle stop, quick restart and coasting stop (Xtronic only), with improvements to both fuel economy and CO2 output (-4g/km). The ALiS mild hybrid system adds just 22kg to the overall vehicle mass.

When decelerating, energy is recovered through regeneration and stored in the Lithiumion battery. This charged energy is then supplied during Idling Stop, Coasting Stop (Xtronic versions only) and Torque Assist.

When coasting to a stop, at speeds of less than 18 km/h, with light braking, the engine will switch off and the stored energy is used to power the vehicle’s electrical equipment. This allows engine stop to be extended and fuel consumption lowered as a result.

A six-speed manual gearbox is the standard option for the new Qashqai. It possesses a positive action, with clearly defined ratios tuned to offer responsive acceleration on the middle gears, with the higher gears optimised for quiet and efficient driving.

The new Xtronic automatic gearbox is designed to offer the best of both worlds in day to day driving. Around town, with partial throttle openings, acceleration is seamless, while the engine speed remains constant. When immediate acceleration is required, the gearbox instantly finds the optimum ratio and reacts in a stepped fashion, giving a more connected feeling.

The all-wheel drive system has been upgraded, with a new direct coupling which sends power to the rear wheels five times faster than the previous generation when it detects front wheel slip. And there is more driver interaction thanks to the addition of a new drive mode selector on the centre console. It allows the driver to choose the all-wheel drive setting according to the conditions, with Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow and Off-Road modes.

After its initial introduction, Qashqai will be offered with the innovative e-POWER powertrain, which brings the well-known advantages of an EV, such as linear, effortless acceleration and refined performance, without consideration for recharging. The battery is charged thanks to a three-cylinder 1.5 litre variable compression turbo motor which runs quietly when needed in the background.

To accommodate this unique installation, the CMF-C platform was designed from the outset to house the battery pack in the centre of the floorplan, but without compromising cabin or trunk space.

“When we started to define the needs and priorities for the next generation of Qashqai customers, we could see that we faced enormous engineering challenges. We knew Qashqai needed to be electrified, so we opted to develop two innovative powertrain options, which will combine efficiency and responsive performance,” said David Moss, Senior Vice President, Region Research & Development, Nissan Technical Centre Europe.

“We also set ourselves a huge challenge: how can we reduce the weight of the bodyshell to improve the new Qashqai’s efficiency, but also improve the stiffness in order to sharpen the dynamic response, while elevating the refinement? Thanks to the new Alliance CMF-C platform, we were able to achieve those challenging objectives.”

He added: “And matching the advanced and efficient electrified powertrains to a tailormade platform has resulted in a driving experience that will again set the standard in the segment, which our customers will really enjoy.”

Mnangagwa Gimmick To Use Nehanda Statue To Pacify Marginalized Youth Will Not Work…

ZIMSEC Fails To Pay Exam Markers

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has failed to pay teachers who marked the 2020 “O” Level and “A” Level examinations.

Markers who spoke to NewsDay said that they are owed $35 000 each and the examinations body intended to raise the money from examination fees which were increased by 1 000 per cent a fortnight ago.

One of the markers told the publication that ZIMSEC informed them that it will stagger the payments. The marker was quoted as saying:

I made inquiries with them and they told me that they didn’t have money at the moment. They said when they start paying, they are going to stagger the payments. Most of us are owed $35 000 each.

ZIMSEC board chairperson Eddie Mwenje, however, said the markers should have been paid by now as they discussed the issue a fortnight ago. He said:

We discussed the matter two weeks ago. You know they are paid after results are out. We published the results some weeks ago and I think they have been paid. I haven’t had any problems with that.

Teachers unions, among them the Zimbabwe National Teachers Union (ZINATU) and Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) on Monday castigated the government, accusing it of being insensitive to the plight of teachers. PTUZ president Takavafira Zhou said:

The money Zimsec uses to pay markers must never be drawn from learners or candidates, but the national budgetary allocation.

It would be irresponsible for Zimsec to benchmark its operations on the payment of exam fees by pupils.

The State must ensure Zimsec operates smoothly, and protect its credibility as a national education examining body.

A fortnight ago, the government set examination fees for the November examinations at ZWL$1 648.00 per subject for Ordinary Level and ZWL$2 400.00 per subject for Advanced Level.- NewsDay

Zanu PF Youths Seize Flea Market

ZANU PF youths in Mutare on Tuesday invaded the Sakubva flea market and seized vegetable market stalls claiming the COVID-19-induced lockdown had impoverished them.

The youths were being led by ZANU PF Mutare district secretary for youths affairs Danmore Mambondiyani.

Mambondiyani told NewsDay that they decided to take over the sites as council was reluctant to open them. He said:

As the secretary for youth affairs in Mutare district, I am trying to solve the issue of vendors as reopening of the markets has dragged for a long time and we are now taking the matters upon ourselves so that these issues are addressed.

What has happened since the first lockdown period is that people have been selling wares at their houses, and municipal police would then harass them.

As youths, we are protecting the name of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and that of the vendors. Our leader has already said that all markets should be opened.

We have been engaging Mutare City Council over the opening of these vending sites and they were just reluctant to do so.

Mutare City Council suspended trading at the site citing health concerns and at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, vendors were removed from the site.

Meanwhile, Mambondiyani said that after opening the markets, they will make sure that all COVID-19 precautionary measures are followed.- NewsDay

Minister Orders Civil Servants To Chant Zanu PF Slogans

All civil servants belong to ZANU PF as they are working for a ZANU PF-leg government and should therefore be prepared to chant party slogans at gatherings.

This was said by the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development Clemence Chiduwa in Mwenezi recently.

This is, however, against the law as Section 200 (5) of the Constitution obligates political neutrality for all civil servants.

Chiduwa expressed his sentiments to invited heads of government departments and ZANU PF structures who gathered for the party’s inter-district meeting which was held at Rutenga growth point’s Council Hall on Saturday, 22 May. He said:

All government workers are working for ZANU PF. In my own home area of Zaka, government workers are now fully aware that whenever there is a gathering, they stand and chant our party slogans because they are working for ZANU PF.

Here in Mwenezi, we are looking forward to a situation whereby government workers know that they are working for ZANU PF.

During his address, the Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs, Ezra Chadzamira, also maintained that government workers belong to ZANU PF.

The Inter-district meeting, which was attended by several ZANU PF provincial bigwigs, also had former MDC MP Tongai Matutu in attendance.

Hon Mamombe Reflects On Moments Of Torture

Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance Youth Assembly official and Harare West MP Hon Joana Mamombe says she has been hardened by moments of torture and persecution…

Hon Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova were repeatedly arrested and tortured by the Zanu PF regime for speaking on behalf of suffering citizens.

Below is Hon Mamombe’s statement:
Dear Comrades and Friends!

I am happy to let you know comrades & friends that I am now back at work. I am back and rejuvenated to serve #HarareWest Costituency and contribute in the goal to win Zimbabwe for change. I am humbled and emboldened by the level of support that I received from ALL of you during our illegal detention.

I came out of Chikurubi Prison on the 5th of May 2021 with emotional scars intentionally bruised by my own government because I dared to speak out. I was arrested on the 5th of March 2021 after I refused to remain silent as my friend Makomborero Haruzivishe was being illegally detained.

I spent 62 difficult days in unlawful and frivolous detention at the dreaded Chikurubi Prison. This I am told was meant to break me, I don’t know how they will know when I am broken or what being broken looks like.

During those dark days I fell ill and had to be taken to a hospital. Barely, 24 hours at a medical facility I was forcefully removed from the hospital on “orders from above” without any formal discharge procedure and against the advice of my Dr.

This comrades took a heavy toll on my body- and I had to take a moment after my release to take a step back and recover. We are all mortal beings and we sometimes falter or fear BUT we defeat this fear and rise again to fight another day. Strength to you my dear sisters, Cecillia R Chimbiri & Netsai Marova

Once again I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who stood and continue to stand with us. God Bless you friends

A New Zimbabwe is possible!!!

About COVID-19 And Tobacco Smoking

In a statement this afternoon, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Simon Khaya Moyo urged members to be punctual.

“The Secretary for Administration Obert Mpofu wishes to advise all members that there shall be a Politburo meeting to be held on Wednesday 02, June 2021 at the Zanu PF headquarters commencing 1000 hours.
All members should be seated by 09:45 hours sharp,” he said.

Cheso Power’s SA Shows In Limbo

By A Correspondent- Sungura musician Alick Macheso’s fans in South Africa will have to wait a little bit longer before attending their favourite musician’s live shows after two concerts scheduled for this weekend to celebrate his forthcoming 53rd birthday were cancelled due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in that country.

Prison Bosses In Hot Soup For Favouring Detained Mugabe Ministers

“Recently a female minister who was in remand prison, was harassed and threatened with violence by some inmates who accused of failing to build proper cells while in Government.

“We had to remove her and place her in a different cell as a way of protecting her from attack,” she said.

Deputy Comm-Gen Manhivi said the isolation of the minister is not a favour, but ZPCS simply acts in terms of the law.

“That is neither a favour nor preferential treatment at all. It’s not about giving them preferential treatment, but it’s a matter of classes.
“We simply separate them from the violent ones in terms of the law,” she said.

Threats of Bloodbath Against Chitungwiza Residents Suicidal: Wiwa

Job Sikhala...
  • By Hon Job Wiwa Sikhala :
    MP Zengeza West.

I have seen a statement released by Chitungwiza Municipality signed by one, Evangelista Machona, threatening violence and bloodbath against our people in Chitungwiza who are involved in lawful business as stupid, uninformed and scandalous.

The funny part of the statement from Chitungwiza Municipality is where it’s accompanied by threats of loss of life. They say this as if they are talking about the life of wildlife.

What we want to know is whether there is a full Council resolution to the threats of bloodshed or it originates from bureaucratic elements being fed same by central government.

Evangelista Machona and those who have sent her, should know that we don’t take lightly threats to kill our people.

I penny off.

CHAMISA: 66% MNANGAGWA: 33%: 2018 ELECTION RESULTS.

Priscilla Chigumba

By Dr. William Mpofu | THAT the Zimbabwean presidential election of 2018 was stolen to consolidate the political gains of the military coup of 2017 that ended the rule of the late Robert Mugabe is known by many Zimbabweans, including children.

What is neither known nor understood even by scholars and journalists is how the election was stolen and the nature of the system that conducted the spectacular theft. Even more unknown is that the popular opposition presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa, in veracity, actually scored a staggering 66% of the vote, while the incumbent beneficiary of the coup, Emmerson Mnangagwa, trailed far behind with 33%.

In his new book, Excelgate: How Zimbabwe’s 2018 Presidential Election Was Stolen, Professor Jonathan Moyo fleshes out the anatomy of electoral fraud and forces that were deployed by the Joint Operations Command (Joc) using state institutions and individuals that worked in its political captivity and command.

At the pinnacle of the spectacular election rigging process, the Zimbabwe Election Commission (Zec) turned the National Command Centre in Harare, a verification and announcement of results site, into a “giant polling station” where a combination of soldiers and Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) details, “in excess of twenty” went on “punching in what was identified as V11 data into an excel spreadsheet for close to two days” in a daring violation of electoral laws of the country.

In that way, the Zimbabwean constitution was violated, the country robbed of its clear political choice and democracy negated, as military rule was consolidated and fortified.

The durable observation that Moyo makes is that “although Zimbabweans believe that election rigging is widespread, their belief is not matched by the necessary vigilance to checkmate the rigging.”

It is a Zimbabwean historical and political tragedy that “there is little regard in the body politic for the dictum that an election is a rule-bound political process which is a legal event.”

Zec would not have led such a brazen theft of the election if Zimbabweans, especially opposition political leaders and their lawyers, and civil society, understood the baptismal truth that elections are not “just politics”, but also legal events that require not only constitutions but then again vigilant practices of constitutionalism.

In 2013, Zimbabwe got a new democratic constitution without constitutionalism as a national political culture, and this was all because of the native colonialist regime of Zanu PF that took over the country from Rhodesian settler colonialism, I observe.

As I write, Zimbabwe is under the rule of an illegal and therefore illegitimate military outfit that wears the false garb of a democratically elected government, led as a head of state by an authoritarian and corrupt election loser.

The authority of Moyo
Not all writers of books are authors. Being an author is a positionality that demands some authority.

Excelgate published by SAPES Books confirms Moyo as an author of formidable authority who enjoys access to impeccable sources of intimate inside information about the system in Zimbabwe.

Not all journalists and scholars would have had a senior CIO detail who operates from the “engine rooms” of Joc calling them in the depths of the night disclosing that there was turmoil and tenacity in the security sector because the untainted results in the Zec server indicate that Chamisa had garnered 66% of the vote against Mnangagwa’s pathetic 33%.

And it is now everybody’s guess why Joc has vigorously carried out operations to split, divide and kill the MDC Alliance and to erode Chamisa’s political solidity. Some Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) diplomats that have their own intelligence contacts and sources also called to inform Moyo that indeed Mnangagwa had lost the election hands down.

From right inside Zec, in the “strictest of confidence”, some “technical staff” and “two commissioners” separately communicated to Moyo that the indelible statistics in the server that the regime was forced to damage and hide indicated that Mnangagwa had been trounced by Chamisa, and that “the system” was desperately deploying a “Plan B” to manufacture electoral “victory” for the humiliated incumbent.

Over and above the authoritative confidential sources of inside information that Moyo has, he also utilises his methodological craftsmanship as a trained and experienced social scientist to dissect court records, statutory instruments, documents, the Electoral Act itself, the 2018 Zec Elections Manual and other legal and academic literature to drive home a telling scientific case.

And that is a case that, in its robustness, can pass any legal, academic and ethical test anytime.

Besides being a student of politics, especially electoral politics, who published in 1992 the book Voting For Democracy: A Study of Electoral Politics in Zimbabwe, Moyo has been a deep insider into the political and electoral workings of Zanu PF. He has been immersed in Zanu PF as a government minister, deputy information secretary of the ruling party, “election strategist,” parliamentary candidate for Tsholotsho constituency and author of a number of Zanu PF election manifestos.

He is the scholar and politician that can both be accused of having tried and failed to reform or destroy Zanu PF from inside or one who actually almost recovered Zanu PF from certain death by giving it some intellectual oxygen, bandaging a dying snake, to be metaphoric.

For that reason, Moyo’s analytical and critical disclosures on electoral fraud and force, and the Zanu PF “system” cannot only be trusted, but they can also be treasured by those who wish to know, especially those that also wish to do something about the native colonisation of Zimbabwe by a politico-military system that has turned the country into a skunk of the world.

His monograph is the most systematic study and incisive commentary on a presidential election that Zimbabwe has ever seen.

Further, Moyo as one of the “criminals around the President” that were supposed to be killed during the military coup of November 2017, but were rescued by some securocratic “angels”, should have enough experience, knowledge, anger and emotional stamina to spill to the world the proverbial beans and help efforts to end the native colonisation of Zimbabwe by a murderous and corrupt system.

Excelgate is written by an author that has deep experience and knowledge of the dark entrails inside the belly of the Zanu PF beast.

As represented by Excelgate, Moyo might as well be the Machiavelli of Zimbabwe that had no prince to listen to him and utilise his reformist, if not revolutionary, insights.

Many Zimbabweans now silently wish that Grace Mugabe and the G40 political outfit which Moyo was part of had succeeded in their own political designs, stratagems that looked like a coup that was not military, and maybe Zimbabwe as a country would have fallen where her pieces could be picked up.

The military coup that elevated Mnangagwa to power has sunk the polity of the country into a bottomless abyss and sentenced the economy into a monopoly of Mnangagwa, his family, friends, cronies and some international black marketeers.

Zimbabwe is under self-evident and brazen state capture. The capture is there for all to see – primitive accumulation is difficult to hide. Mnangagwa, his family and cronies are greedily grabbing opportunities and looting with reckless abandon. It is their turn to eat, so they say.

But they are leaving too much evidence behind. Even for non-forensic people like most of us, we can see their footprints. Even Mnangagwa’s coup partners are alarmed and complaining about the looting.

My multiple readings of Excelgate have convinced me, and would convince any honest reader, that Moyo has deployed his authority to show what Dr Ibbo Mandaza, another former Zanu PF insider, notes as the “bare details” of how “Zanu PF has been able to rig elections since 1985 with considerable success.”

Even the least discerning reader would be left in no doubt that “elections in Zimbabwe, away from being vehicles of democracy, are now means of legitimising an essentially illegitimate and evil regime.

As I have continued to argue, Zimbabwe is now a full-blown native colony that boasts of all the evils of colonialism except that it is black natives of Zimbabwe that are the present colonisers.

Under Mnangagwa and the securocrats behind him, Zimbabweans now experience the same political and economic conditions that forced some young people in Rhodesia to wage an armed struggle against settler colonialism.

In their own words and deeds
One of the epistemic strengths of Excelgate as a book is in how Moyo methodically resists the temptation to issue a litany of bitter and windy allegations against a people and a system that wanted him dead.

Those who employed fraud and force to steal the 2018 presidential election severally speak for themselves in the book as Moyo highlights their own authentic words and deeds.

When information of Chamisa’s victory against Mnangagwa sent the securocrats into panic and frenzy, the Zec chairperson, Justice Priscilla Chigumba, sent a WhatsApp message to some close friends of hers in the system promising a solution:

“They don’t have to agree. We will announce based on our own V11. We don’t need any party’s V11. It’s just courtesy to ask them to verify. Agree or not we announce.”

Here was the leader of Zec disclosing the juice about an invented Zec V11 that had nothing to do with the actual votes cast by Zimbabweans.

Chigumba’s revealing message landed with some worried diplomats and other troubled observers that shared the ominous details with their own networks.

Excelgate feeds fat from the verbatim words of the perpetrators of electoral fraud and force.

In the comfort of Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria, before the wedding festivities of his son, Zimbabwean Chief Justice Luke Malaba, who was recently blocked by the High Court from extending his tenure, received a copy of the Constitutional Court petition challenging the election process and results.

After scanning the application, Malaba exclaimed to the judicial officer who gave him the copy: “Is that all ?” laughing and shaking his head as he rejoiced and celebrated with excited body language, “Ok, akula lutho la,” meaning in Ndebele that there was no case and he was going to have Chamisa’s application dismissed well before the case had been heard on its merits.

Just like Chigumba, Malaba did not know that there were other interested eyes and ears around. Malaba is the same chief justice who “sitting alone in the chambers,” without hearing from Mugabe, passed the alarming judgement on 21 November 2017 that Mugabe had “resigned freely and voluntarily” from his post as the President of Zimbabwe, which was a monumental falsehood.

Malaba is the chief justice that several times in the presence of Moyo “between March 2013 and December 2014” Mnangagwa called “munhu wangu uyo,” meaning in Shona “that is my guy”.

True to being Mnangagwa’s personal person, Malaba was to unjustly frustrate and block Chamisa’s subpoena to have the Zec server that contained the correct and true results of the presidential election examined.

Malaba much ridiculously affirmed the brazenly false Zec claim, under oath, that it had no server at all yet the existence of the server was knowledge in the public domain.

In his own response to Chamisa’s court challenge, Mnangagwa, in clear and advised words, under oath, confirmed the existence of the Zec server and only made the allegation that the server had been hacked by some enemies of Zimbabweans and therefore the results therein could not be justiciable.

In the grand cover-up for Mnangagwa, Malaba had to, “fully dressed” in robs, tell the falsehood that election results in Zimbabwe are by law supposed to be transmitted “wholly manual”, which was to assist Zec hide the server.

Like Mnangagwa who accidentally or unwittingly confirmed the existence of the server, Zec commissioner Qhubani Moyo, in frantic communication with the agitated Zimbabwean independent media, confirmed that there were results that were received through the server. What Qhubani Moyo, for obvious reasons, could not say was why the presidential results stored in the server could not be made public.

While the Mnagagwa regime publicly denied knowledge and responsibility for the shooting to death of six unarmed civilians that were protesting the delay in the announcement of election results, Excelgate proves otherwise.

Against the public denials of army commander General Philip Valerio Sibanda and Tactical Commander Anselem Sanyatwe, and their allegations that it is opposition political militants that shot and killed six civilians and critically injured 35 others, Moyo provides concrete evidence that the Harare massacre was a pre-meditated Maoist military and police tactic to kill a few Zimbabweans in order to scare many of them away from protesting against the electoral fraud in Harare.

Moyo documents black and white evidence of communication in letters and phone calls involving police superintendents, a Commissioner-General of Police, Minister of Home Affairs Obert Mpofu, retired army commander General Constantine Chiwenga and Mnangagwa that proves that the Harare massacre was pre-meditated and planned well before the elections as a strategy to prevent Zimbabweans from defending their vote in the streets.

The Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) and military intelligence, from their researches and surveys, had warned the regime of Chamisa’s impending electoral victory and advised of the need for “Plan B” to manufacture electoral victory for Mnangagwa and consolidate the political gains of the military coup.

Alongside the fraud at the Zec National Command Centre, military force in the shape of live bullets was deployed in the streets of Harare to fortify the theft of the 2018 presidential election in Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa gave the nod to the deployment of the detachment of the army, a Presidential Guard unit, and its use of live ammunition on civilians some of whom were bystanders and street hawkers that were not part of the protest.

Retired Lieutenant-General Engelbert Rugeje, a former soldier and a leader of the Zanu PF commissariat had, well before the elections, warned that the system was prepared to commit atrocities to ensure electoral victory. Rugeje was a key player in the coup.

How the election was stolen
Soon after it emerged that Mnangagwa had lost, as shown in the correct and true results of the election in the Zec server that was mirrored in servers of the CIO, the military intelligence, and seen by army and intelligence details embedded in Zec, the ominous “Plan B” had to be urgently set afoot.

First, Zec technicians that are seconded from the army and the intelligence tried to “rape” the server to alter the results in favour of Mnangagwa, but the impregnable American-made gadget’s software and hardware resisted until it was damaged. With military and intelligence determination, the system decided that the server be hidden and its existence officially denied.

An excel spreadsheet was brought in as an alternative that would allow the grand cooking of results. For this to work, the “command element” of the system had to deploy military and intelligence activity with the gravitas of “by all means necessary” deportment.

Spectacularly and illegally, a “different route and different destination” for the presidential election results from all the polling stations in the country were quickly invented.

The V11s, polling station return forms, and the V23s, ward centre return forms for the presidential election, which must be collated and verified at constituency centres, were criminally and illegally taken to the Zec National Command Centre in Harare.

Either by “accident or welcome mischief by vigilant staffers” Zec documents this electoral fraud in its own published report: “The results were taken to the National Command Centre physically by the District Elections Officers where they were captured and collated on a results collation template at the National Collation Centre.”

By law the results should have been collated at the 210 constituency centres of the country and entered into V23B forms before they are forwarded to 10 provincial command centres where they were to be further collated into V23C forms.

The invention of a different route and destination for the presidential results alone, leaving the parliamentary results to follow the legal route, was a violation of Section 38 of the Electoral Act that legislates harmonised presidential and parliamentary elections.

Section 37 Chapter 4 of the Electoral Act and Section 110 Chapter 3 of the same Act were also violated with contempt and impunity.

The stubborn question is: Why was the system driven to desperation and forced to break the law? The answer is found in the rigging process that took place in the Zec Command Centre in Harare, “the process involved a group of people in excess of twenty, punching in what was identified as V11 data into an excel spreadsheet. For close to two days that process continued.”

These people were a mixture of CIO, military intelligence and some Zec officials seconded from the army. They were in all actuality voting on behalf of Zimbabweans against their will and choice, turning the Zec Command Centre from a verification and announcement of election results site into what Moyo correctly calls a “giant polling station” that manufactured new results in favour of Mnangagwa.

That was Excelgate in full flight. Excelgate unfolded as the correct and true presidential election results were frozen in the server that was now damaged, hidden and officially denied by Zec.

Chamisa’s agents, Morgen Komichi and Jameson Timba, who later rightly protested the fraud, had sat in the room for the two days as spooks right before their eyes pretended to be verifying results when they were actually voting.

“Our own V11” that Chigumba messaged about to her friends was an object of fraud as only V23D forms are generated at the National Command Centre, not V11s. Zec officials had no legal business punching in V11 data into an excel spreadsheet at the National Command Centre that actually became a huge crime scene.

A tributary to the Excelgate in the Zec National Command Centre was in the shape of some spooky and fraudulent activities that happened in the constituencies. The European Election Observer Mission, for instance, found in Makoni North Constituency some Zec officials that Moyo unmasks as having been soldiers, military intelligence and the CIO pretending to be civilians, filling in V11 forms alone after polling agents had left two days earlier.

These spooky Zec officials were also voting. Their explanation to the EU team was a sheepish argument that the forms were previously not available. No doubt there were other constituencies besides Makoni North where Zec was used by Joc to allow ghost voters to vote for Mnangagwa long after the voting process had ended.

Excelgate illustrates it clearly that Mnangagwa is largely an illegitimate beneficiary of a military coup that was voted into power by the army, intelligence and some other hired spooks, not the Zimbabwean populace.

By using his position as chief justice to frustrate and block Chamisa’s legal applications, Malaba truly lived up to his role as Mnangagwa’s point man and a regime enabler that enabled and endorsed electoral fraud, theft and force. Excelgate makes it clear exactly why Mnangagwa would so desperately wish to retain Malaba as chief justice beyond his legal age limit and expiry of tenure.

Malaba’s tenure ended on 15 May when he turned 70. Mnangagwa amended the constitution and changed the law to extend it by five years to 75. Civil society actors challenged that in court and the High Court ruled against Malaba, but he is still fighting to continue in office. This confirms that Malaba is the fulcrum – that word popularised by Advocate Thabani Mpofu during Chamisa’s electoral petition hearing in 2018 – in Mnangagwa’s electoral strategy for 2023.

That story has been comprehensively and systematically covered for a period of about five months now by The NewsHawks.

Such a chief justice as Malaba is what Joc would want in 2023 when another presidential election is due. In his dirty work of enabling electoral fraud and force, Malaba was much unexpectedly assisted by Chamisa’s legal team that made V11s the pivot of their legal case and not the important V23Bs that are generated from constituency centres and are confirmed and signed by polling agents.

Political parties and civil society also offered no intervention or resistance to Zec’s brazen manipulation of the V forms for the purposes of electoral fraud. Once again it is, perhaps, a legitimate observation that Zanu PF and its Joc system would not be the lions that they are if Zimbabweans were not political sheep. There is an urgent need for Zimbabweans to develop some political teeth in defending their rights and not allow Zanu PF and its system to monopolise being feared.

Zanu PF and its system are not soon going to commit suicide; they need assisted suicide or mercy killing itself, metaphorically speaking.

What is the system in Zimbabwe?

Excelgate exposes not only the rigging system in Zimbabwe, but also the entire dark monstrosity that secretly runs the country outside the perimeters of the constitution.

This is an unelected secret government that is a law unto itself. This entity, Moyo observes, has all the answers to the question surrounding the issues from the Gukurahundi genocide to the disappearance of some Zimbabweans like Rashiwe Guzha, Itai Dzamara and the murder of Solomon Mujuru, among many evils and crimes that have gone for years unsolved.

It is this system, in the shape of Joc, that is peopled by securocrats and runs Zanu PF itself and the country. Many senior government and party officials in Zanu PF are in the dark on the workings of Joc that is a collective of few but powerful and secretive individuals that command assassins and are true merchants of death and destruction.

Moyo correctly notes that “it is an indictment of the post-independence political and military leadership that a colonial instrument created by the racist Rhodesian regime to brutalise freedom fighters was retained by the same liberators in independent Zimbabwe.”

Joc is a politico-security outfit that is a relic from settler colonialism and is now being used by the native colonialists in Harare. It employs colonial and dark modes of political practice in Zimbabwe.
Through Defence House, that is the head office of the Ministry of Defence, CIO, Data Recovery Centre, Chiltern Trust, Africom Zimbabwe, Zec and the Constitutional Court, Joc rigged the presidential election in 2018.

As a system, Joc gets to know the results of all elections well before civilians and some civilian officials in Zec and positions itself to change the results to suit Zanu PF. To fully understand Zanu PF’s native colonisation of Zimbabwe, one needs to understand the nature and workings of Joc that Moyo unmasks in Excelgate.

Excelgate is a pulsating read couched in Moyo’s typical lucid prose and punchy tone. The language is simple without being simplistic.

The book, from the first to the last page, is a revelation that supplies observations, arguments and conclusions about Zimbabwe that Zimbabweans, Africans and other citizens of the world urgently need to engage with on Zimbabwe and Africa.

The book is also readable as a political education treatise that politicians, political parties and their supporters, opponents and voters are the poorer without reading. Those that are eventually going to successfully change the political system in Zimbabwe would have to consult Excelgate as one of the authoritative sources of what is wrong with Zimbabwe and needs to be fixed.

Any African or world mediation into the Zimbabwean political and economic crisis will benefit richly from Moyo’s offerings in Excelgate. Excelgate is over and above its multiple qualities an infuriating book that is not for the faint-hearted in its contents that graphically illustrate the anatomy of political fraud and force in Zimbabwe.

“Boarding Education Is A Luxury”: Daramombe Headmistress Tells Parents Protesting Term 1 Top Up Fees Increases

From: Daramombe high school students’ Parents
To: The ministry of High and Tertiary Education

Date 26 May 2021

Re: Petition for payment of top-up fees for the first term of 2021

We write as parents of Daramombe high school students to register our petition against the top-up fees for term 1 2021 instituted by the School administration and SDC owing to the following;
a. The call for the virtual meeting was not in accordance with law that stipulates that notice of meeting should be two weeks before the meeting. As such, the virtual meeting quorum was poorly constituted to come up with a binding resolution.
b. Majority parents failed to join the meeting due to internet problems at the school end and lack awareness on the part of parents because of the short notice.
c. The school administration cunningly further requested parents to write their names, name of child and form to substantiate their quest for top up approval application.
d. The school administration and the SDC refused to share the minutes of the meeting with parents and rushed to apply for top-up approval. They resolved that parents should pay an equivalent term 1 fees as top up which as parents we are rejecting.

  1. Reason being, if the parents are an equivalent of term one fees to suffice three (3) weeks then how much should we pay for twelve weeks (12)?
  2. Mathematically this translates to 15 000 x 4 = 60 000.00, which is beyond reach when our salaries are in the range of 19 000.00 to 25 000.00.
  3. The economy has not changed to the levels that the school administration and the SDC pegged school fees top up.
    e. Therefore, as parents we are saying no paying top up fees for this term.

Joana Mamombe Reflects On Moments Of Torture, Persecution…

Chaos Break Out In Mutare As Zanu PF Youths Push For Re-Opening Of Flea Market

By A Correspondent| Chaos broke out in Mutare between the police and Zanu PF youths who have been pushing for the re-opening of the the Sakubva stadium flea market and Nyadzonya youth empowerment produce market.

Nearly 700 vendors gathered Tuesday morning in a bid to push for the re-opening of these markets but police, working on instructions from [some Zanu PF heavyweights in the province, attacked the youths in the process, arresting some.

The Sakubva Stadium flea market has been closed following the Covid 19 outbreak and hundreds of vendors have had their livelihoods affected.

The fight to re-open the flea markets were being pushed by Zanu PF Mutare District Coordinating secretary youth affairs Danmore Mambondiani.

He too was arrested.

“I have been arrested along with other youths. They don’t want to allow our people to work and earn a living. The police have been indiscriminately assaulting vendors,” Mambondiani said.

As lockdown restrictions were relaxed, President Emmerson Mnangagwa gave the green light to the local authorities to re-open all the informal markets throughout the country under strict health protocols.

After receiving complaints from the vendors, Mambondiani and his team of youths in Mutare resolved to take a stand and push for the re-opening of the markets which play a critical role in empowering the poor.

Daggers Out As 3 Chinyamukwakwa Community Members Are Detained For Trespassing In Chisumbanje

By A Correspondent- Three community members from Chinyamukwakwa in Chisumbanje have been arrested and detained for trespassing.

The development was revealed by Claris Madhuku, who posted and said:

“Historical boundary provocation stoked as 3 community members from Chinyamukwakwa, including Samson Mugovera are detained at Chisumbanje Police station allegedly for trespassing.

This follows a well known and tired scheming by Green Fuel Pvt Ltd to intimidate community leaders who are combative against the company’s insatiable appetite to continue grabbing more communal land.

There are activities by the company which involves invasion of more communal land. In the last ploughing season 2020/21 the community defied and continued ploughing on their communal land which they are finishing harvesting.

The boundary conflict is very sensitive due to the fact that it involves clandestine arrangements that are being challenged in court by the community.

The initial arrangements were that Greenfuel would seed 10 percent of the land back to the community in the form of irrigable 0.5 – 2 ha based on stakeholder decisions.

The current situation is that, the stakeholders platform has been weakened by using only government linked players who have no independent decisions with Greenfuel Pvt Ltd.”

Zim Legislator Makes Waves In South Africa After Standing Up Against Francophone Bullying

By A Correspondent| A Zimbabwean legislator Barbara Rwodzi has made waves in South Africa after she stood firm against Franco-phone countries who wanted to cling to power at the Pan African Parliament.

Rwodzi who was backing Chief Fortune Charumbira to the post of Pan African Parliament (PAP) President against a Malian candidate who was being backed by West African countries.

The Zanu PF legislator together Julias Malema vowed that power should rotate and not be a preserve of Francophone countries.

She declared that without rotation, voting would not proceed and this saw her at loggerheads with delegates from West Africa who claimed that Southern African delegates were scared of losing since they did not have numbers.

“This election cannot proceed without the procedures and the advice that came from AU legal council. No rotation, no election, I declare,” said Rwodzi.

The video of the scuffle which is making waves on social media has got South Africa revving about Rwodzi whom they described as bold.

Below are some of the comments from South Africans:

“If we can teach our girls to say ‘NO’ like this MEET @BarbaraRwodzi from Zimbabwe. A FIGHTER”

“This is Barbara Rwodzi from Zimbabwe. A radical who has always wanted to dismiss the belief that politics is for men. Today she has the Pan African Parliament by sc***tum”

“I admired how she refused to be intimidated @barbaraRwodzi,”

“Government Is Best Which Governs Least,” President Nelson Chamisa

By Prince Njagu- The untimely and unplanned introduction of Statutory Instrument 127  (SI 127) 2021 by the ZANU PF regime shows how Zimbabwe is being run as a mafia state. A dictatorship state, ran by clueless and impulsive leaders.

ZANU PF imposes regulations and amends legislations when it feels like doing so. Even when the amendments will not work, the government will try by all means to coerce Zimbabweans into acceptance of ill drafted bills and legislation.

SI 127 (2021) will only increase ZWL$ prices, encourage shortages of commodities in supermarkets and promote trading on the blackmarket. This ZANU PF regime has done this for far too long and all these forced policies and bills have left the vast of Zimbabweans suffering.

The industry in the country has collapsed, basic goods and services are imported into Zimbabwe. Which makes the ZANU PF led administration so delusional to try and force pricing in forex. All imports are done using forex and even ZIMRA accepts duty for imports in forex.

Businesses have already started increasing prices as they try not to lose out on the gazette government exchange rate of 1:85. This is the absurd mandated official rate under SI 127 of 2021.

This all points back to the 2008 era when Zimbabwe faced acute food shortages and people dying of hunger since shops were empty and supplies were on the blackmarket.

“SI 127 signifies panic, lack of astute leadership and absence of prudent economic stewardship,” said MDC-A president, Advocate Nelson Chamisa on his official Twitter account.

“Economic dirigisme and command economics is bad for business and worse for citizens. Rigging elections invites the temptation to rig the economy,“ he added.

Hopewell Chin’ono also criticised the imposition of SI 127 by the ZANU PF government saying it paved way for an economic crisis as prices will skyrocket and the US$ will be devalued.

“Why are prices going up? If a retailer is selling a product at US$1, that is Z$84 at the pegged rate, or Z$130 on the parallel market rate. Retailers are getting their money from the parallel market because RBZ has no forex. So to replace the goods, they have to push up the prices,” said Hopewell.

This shows how unplanned statutory instruments 127 is, the government is imposing a command economy but does not have the financial backing to its policy.

The rich and the elite will not feel the heat, but the vast majority of the Zimbabwean people will feel the effects of this ill-planned policy.

For workers and other civil servants, SI 127 renders their wages worthless. The ZANU PF government will not review salaries monthly to be at par with the prevailing exchange rate or increases in prices for goods and services.

The government will turn a blind eye to the realities that prices are going up daily and the fact that they do not have forex to back up their policy and ease the importation of commodities.

“If Fred was earning US$130 per month and his employer was paying him the equivalent in Zimbabwe dollars; so instead of getting ZW$16,900, he now gets ZW$10,920 because the USD is now pegged at 84 to the Zimbabweans dollar, “ said Hopewell.

“Prayer Warrior” Caught Bonking Lover In Matrimonial Bed Blames Hubby

By A Correspondent- A Chitungwiza woman has blamed her husband and his relatives for trapping her after she was caught red-handed in bed with another man.

Molly Imbayago who is a renowned member of a Pentecostal church in the neighbourhood accused her husband Bernard Matora of sending several men to seduce her as a way of ending their marriage.

The cheating housewife freely admitted to bedding, several men. She argued that she could not resist one of them in particular, because he had a “sweet tongue.”

Ironically, this was not the man that she was caught red-handed with.  Speaking to local publication H-Metro,

Molly said:

“My husband, with the help of some of his relatives, wanted me to move away from this family house,”

“They approached several men to propose to me so as to accuse me of cheating.

“One of the men seduced me with his sweet tongue and I failed to resist his advances and we ended up having sex.

“He is not the one found with me last night; uyu ndeumwewo anonditengesera mashampoo kusalon.”

After the two were caught redhanded, Matora threw out his cheating wife and forced her to sleep outside. He is also alleged to have severely assaulted his wife’s adulterous lover.

“The incident took place at around 9 pm and they severely attacked him that I am not sure of his condition.

“I lodged a report against my husband for forcing my six and eight-year-old children to sleep outside in cold weather.

Following daybreak, Molly packed her belongings and moved to another house within the neighbourhood saying that it was best for her as she was not wanted.

“Ndanga ndisisadiwe pano saka vaituma varume kuzondipfimba saka regai ndibve zvangu,”

Her husband on the other hand said that there was no excuse for Molly’s conduct and revealed that he would have his matrimonial bedroom cleansed by Prophets.

“I caught them red-handed between the sheets in my matrimonial bedroom that she has no excuse at all,”

“She has been bedding several men and taking them into my house.

“I am going to engage prophets to come and clean my defiled bedroom.”

One of the neighbours said that Molly’s shenanigans were well known in the neighbourhood.

“She has finally been caught red-handed by her husband but we have been witnessing several men clashing.

“She is a member of a Pentecostal church and does not miss church services apa achipaza imba yake zvino nhasi zvabuda pachena apa Sisi vake ndipastor zvakaoma”

“Late President Robert Mugabe’s Property Was Already Shared”: Relatives

By A Correspondent- Relatives of the late former President Robert Mugabe say they have already shared his property following his death in 2019.

In a wide-ranging interview, family spokesperson, Leo Mugabe, said it is surprising that Chief Zvimba, who wants Mugabe’s remains to be exhumed from his homestead and reburied at the National Heroes Acre, says some of the late former president’s belongings have not yet been shared.

“We have already shared (his belongings). We’ve done all that. That’s the other responsibility of a nephew, a muzukuru like me. You get my point? That’s where I come in, and we did it. It’s done. Finished.

“We don’t call these people, anashe (chiefs), distant people, you only call close relatives. I have some clothes that used to be his, that were shared on that particular function (homestead event after his death).”

Mugabe claims that Chief Zvimba is not aware that all cultural norms were followed in sharing Mugabe’s property, which includes some farms and clothes.

“Immovable (property) … Some of those things were left for his children. So, basically, it’s normal (for that to happen). It’s normal. Movable things, you know clothes and others, you know, they were all shared. We shared all that.”

Mugabe castigated Chief Zvimba who summoned former First Lady, Grace Mugabe, to appear before a local traditional court facing charges of illegally burying the late former president at his homestead instead of a designated place.

Chief Zvimba says he has given the government the green light to exhume Mugabe’s remains and bury them at the National Heroes Acre where a special enclosure was constructed for him.

At the weekend the Karigamombe clan, related to the Mugabes, held a meeting in which they dismissed Chief Zvimba’s order, noting that he was not supposed to summon Mrs. Mugabe to the traditional court.

The family is vowing to take the matter to the highest court in Zimbabwe in order to block the exhumation of Mugabe’s remains.

Leo Mugabe also insists that Chief Zvimba, who fined Mrs. Mugabe five cattle and a goat for allegedly violating local burial culture, failed to follow laid down traditional norms in dealing with such cases.

He said, “… What he is doing is taking somebody who was married in a family, and he is saying now, you the widow, you must pay. You see, he is suing the wrong person, and this person that he is suing, will then say, you know we are going to take the cattle from the deceased’s estate.

“Who are you punishing? Who are you punishing? The children … Who? People who you did not invite to any hearing, are the ones you are saying, ‘go and pick up the cattle If the cattle were given to the kids, the children, you are now saying go and get the cattle from the children. These children are above 18. They should be cited in many court papers in their own right.”

He said the case will embarrass Zimbabwe.

“I think this whole exercise is an exercise in futility. It will not yield the required results. It will just mess us up as a country, our image and the image of the government and everyone else, because it is not necessary. All this is not necessary.”

Chief Zvimba insists that Mrs. Mugabe should be punished for violating some local traditional rites related to burying people.

She is currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness in Singapore. Mugabe died of cancer in Singapore after ruling Zimbabwe for almost 40 years.

Peter Ndlovu Trades The Boots For Politics

By A Correspondent- If popularity on the soccer pitch could directly translate into political support, then Zimbabwe’s renowned soccer legend, Peter Ndlovu, has a good chance of winning the 2023 presidential elections after he was recently nominated leader of the newly-formed All People’s Party (APP).

Affectionately known as Nsukuzonke during his heyday at Highlanders football Club, Ndlovu is now team manager at Mamelodi Sundowns fC in neighbouring South Africa.

He will not be the first African soccer player to venture into active party politics.

Liberian President George Weah, a former world soccer star of the year, got the most votes in the first ballot in his first contest for the presidential elections in his native land in 2005. However, he failed to secure a majority in Parliament.

There is also Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban who was a footballer who made headlines after he cancelled a Cabinet meeting to play a match for his local club Felcslut FC in 2001.

Although repeated efforts to get a comment from Ndlovu were fruitless, APP vicepresident Sebastian Mubvumbi yesterday told NewsDay that his party was registered with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission on October 31, 2019, but it had not yet done its official launch due to COVID-19 restrictions.

He said Ndlovu had been its leader although this had not been yet announced officially.

The APP said in 2023, Ndlovu would battle it out with the Zanu-PF presidential candidate Emmerson Mnangagwa, MDC Alliance’s Nelson Chamisa, MDC-T’s Douglas Mwonzora and other presidential aspirants for the hot seat.

His popularity in the English soccer league, Mubvumbi said, was evidence that Ndlovu would be able to attract a huge political following.

APP was registered with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission on October 31, 2019, but it was still working out some internal strategies before its president (Ndlovu) could come back to Zimbabwe to take his full leadership role,” he said.

“Ndlovu, one of the greatest football players of all time was preferred to lead the party by a majority of people who call him the flying Elephant. He has not disappointed as a soccer star. Whenever he is called for duty, he is always available, which makes him the rightful candidate to take Zimbabwe into transition.”

Mubvumbi added: “However, he does not have to give up his other commitments in South Africa in order to rush back home to assume his duties as president of the party. It’s not prudent for him to do so, not as yet.”

He said the former Highlanders and Zimbabwe Warriors soccer star was confident of 2023 electoral victory.

Mubvumbi said the APP wanted to change the current top-down approach where the elite dictated development issues to citizens.

“The party would be fully represented in the 2023 elections as it has supporters from grassroot level in all the provinces. They have started building structures and mobilising other supporters,” Mubvumbi said.

“The party’s name speaks about its desire to be a grassroot-oriented party; a party of the subaltern groups in as much as it is the party for all ethnicities, religions and classes. As 2023 beckons, there is not any other time ripe for the people of this great nation to share the same mood to change the current leadership which talks about you, but never to you.

“Zimbabwe cannot continue to be an underdeveloped country at 41 with a few elite individuals enjoying while the rest of the citizens were suffering.”

Ndlovu’s APP party says if it were to be given the mandate to rule in 2023, it would reduce the country’s 10 provinces to five and do away with tribalistic names and tendencies.
