Mujuru Dumps Her Party Rally Rushes For ZANU PF Business

Samuel Sipepa Nkomo

By Paul Nyathi|People’s Rainbow Coalition (PRC) leader, Dr Joice Mujuru dumped her own party’s rally and rushed to attend to ZANU PF top officials who were injured after a bomb was detonated at the ruling party rally in Bulawayo.

Mujuru was earmarked to give a key note address at the PRC rally in Victoria Falls but failed to make it as she was reported to have rushed to Bulawayo following the bomb blast.

Her party Deputy President Samuel Sipepa Nkomo was left to face the angry and disappointed party supporters at the extremely lowly attended rally.

In what critics described as a demonstration of the dwindling supporters’ base and clear of lack of confidence in the Mujuru led opposition party, the supposed star rally in the resort town was an eventual monumental flop.

Dr Mujuru arrived in the resort town on Saturday but could not show up at Chinotimba Stadium, much to the disappointment of the few supporters who turned up.

Addressing supporters, Sipepa Nkomo, whose speech was constantly interjected by the ‘where is Mujuru?’ chants from the crowd, failed to justify his boss’s absence and told the angry supporters that the party leader had to attend to an emergency which occurred following the blast at a Zanu PF rally at White City Stadium Bulawayo on Saturday.

“There was an emergency she had to deal with. Remember there was a disaster in Bulawayo and she had to go and see some people who were affected. I want to promise you that she will come and see you in future,” he said.

PRC National Organiser, Mr Dzikamai Mavhaire, who also struggled to explain his boss’s no show, encouraged the party supporters to go and to exercise their constitutional right and vote during the forthcoming elections even if it means voting for MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa.

“If things change, police officers can salute Dr Mujuru or Chamisa, what is wrong with that? If it means we need to unite to deal with Zanu PF, let it be so all we don’t want is a Zanu PF led government.

The PRC officials, who told their party supporters of their resolve to push for devolution of power, also said the party has what it takes to dislodge Zanu PF and the MDC Alliance during the forthcoming harmonised elections.

WATCH: Criminals Who Bombed Bulawayo Rally: ZANU PF Youth Boss Says “The List Of Suspects Is So Long”

By Dorrothy Moyo| The list of suspects in the bonding of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rally on Saturday is very long, the ZANU PF Youth has said.

Speaking during his press conference streamed live on ZimEye.com, Togarepi responded to questions on who his suspects are.

He gave the below full response:

Said Togarepi: As any other Zimbabwean would think, maybe it could be those elements who used to enjoy those things they can’t enjoy now because we have a straightforward president so they may be tempted to killing. To kill the people of Zimbabwe to create that instability. So there are people out there and what could motivate them? So anyone I can tell you the list of might suspects (sic – suspicions) is so long because …. (sic.) But I am hurt to tell you the truth, that we have a man who is preaching peace, who is preaching development, who wants to see Zimbabweans united, and there are people  out there who would want him dead; you don’t understand; you know it’s painful. But then this is not for Zanu PF. This is for all political parties, all religious groupings. This is something that is attacking the culture that we have known for a long time in Zimbabwe of peace. We have characters who would want to create instability in this country and we as Zimbabweans, not only the security services sector, but all Zimbabweans must stand up and say we don’t want this, this is foreign, and can’t be part of our lives, we can’t live in fear,  in a country that is as free as Zimbabwe; because there is somebody with selfish ends; that we should stop and it can only be stopped by Zimbabweans, no one else. Thank you.

LATEST- ZANU PF Youths Speak Over Bulawayo Bombing, Back President Mnangagwa

By Own Correspondent| THE ZANU PF Youth League held its presser Tuesday morning in Harare and the leader, Pupurai Togarepi said the youths stand by President Emmerson Mnangagwa who he said the attackers hoped they would bring down.

Togarepi began by saying:

“Welcome members of the Press. We are here to issue a statement following happenings in Bulawayo White City stadium where suspect bomb attack on our leadership and members of a party occurred.

“From our point at Zanu PF Youth League, we are attached and we are not happy. We are sorry to members whose lives were taken by this unfortunate event. Our statement goes- who is behind the terrorist attack on a president and our leadership? Why this attack on our freedoms and Peace?

“Who is attacking the Zimbabwe people? Definitely it is somebody who is not Zimbabwean. Are you aware you the perpetrator of this thing, the consequences of such an attack; have you looked around the world where such attacks have happened ?”

When quizzed over the suspects of the bombing, Togarepi replied saying, the list of suspects is very long. WATCH HIM SPEAK BELOW:

Opposition Leader Arrested For Calling For Chigumba’s Removal

By Dorrothy Moyo| Harare based dentist, Dr Francis Danha was this morning arrested for calling for ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) Chairperson Priscilla Chigumba’s removal.

ZANUbarometer or Afro? Despite Chamisa Youth Crowds, Afrobarometer Says Youths Less Likely To Vote In 2018 Elections | IS THIS TRUE?

By Dorrothy Moyo|The Afrobarometer thinktank has presented controversial survey findings that claim that Zimbabwean youths are less likely to vote in the upcoming elections. ZimEye reveals the full report below.

The survey comes after the same organisation earlier this month presented findings that claim that Nelson Chamisa will obtain a paltry 31% of the votes. This was challenged by another survey carried by ZimEye using a larger population sample and which shows thatt Chamisa will win with an 81% scoop. SEE THE COMPARISON BELOW –

The ZimEye results were from a large sample of 2,700 local Zimbabweans aged 25 to 65 during the online survey carried by ZimEye.com last month. To ensure reliability, a strict IP filter was used to ensure that participants are defined by their geographical IP address; a second IP filter was used to prevent duplications and ensure that only human beings vote.
Below were the results:

Whilst more than eight in 10 Zimbabweans (82%) say they are both registered and likely to vote in the upcoming elections, young and urban residents trail their older and rural counterparts in readiness to vote, Afrobarometer’s national survey suggests.

Despite the enthusiasm they have displayed at political party rallies, as of late April/early May urban residents and youth were less likely than rural and older residents to say they were registered and likely to vote, according to survey findings from the Mass Public Opinion Institute, Institute for Justice and Reconciliation, and Afrobarometer.

Harare and Bulawayo had smaller proportions of registered and likely voters than other provinces. READ THE REPORT HERE

Is It Possible To Throw A Grenade At Close Range And Not Be Caught? NDABA NHUKU WRITES

By Ndaba Nhuku| In this piece, I present raw facts on grenade throwing. One day, the truth will come out. See the full tutorial by experts on WikiHow –

How to Throw a Hand Grenade

Throwing from Standing Position

  1. Locate your target before you ready your grenade. Unlike firearms, there’s no way to “point” a grenade at your enemies so that is selectively deals to damage to them — grenades will indiscriminately hit anything, friend or foe, that’s within their blast radius. For this reason, it’s extra-important to know where your enemy is before you pull the pin. Don’t even grab your grenade until you’ve identified an enemy position you intend to strike — you do not want to be caught with a live grenade and have nowhere to throw it.

    • Note, however, that, in combat situations, you can expose yourself to enemy fire if you spend too much time peeking out of your cover and trying to locate your enemy. This requires you to delicately balance your need to locate your target with your need to protect yourself. Many sources recommend against spending more than just a second or two looking for your enemy.
  2. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 2
    2

Grab your grenade in your throwing hand. When you’ve found a target and you’re ready to throw, grab your grenade in the hand you usually use for throwing. Grip the grenade in the palm of your hand with the pull ring pointing up. Use your thumb to put steady pressure on the safety lever — the large, square, metal lever running from the top down the side of the grenade.

    • Don’t let up your pressure on the lever until you’re ready to throw. The lever holds a small but very important part of the grenade called the striker in place — if you relax your grip on the lever after you pull the pin (this is called “milking” the grenade), it’s possible for the striker to rotate and strike the fuse while the grenade is still in your hand. Because this can easily be deadly, it’s important to get in the habit of keeping steady pressure on the lever at all times before throwing.
  3. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 3
    3

Pull the pin with your non-throwing hand. Grip the ring on the side of the lever mechanism by slipping a finger through it and remove it with a pulling, twisting motion. The safety clip holding the lever in place should fall off of the grenade. Note that, contrary to the portrayal of grenades in movies and on TV, their fuses aren’t necessarily lit when you pull the pin. Rather, this happens when you release the lever and the striker is able to ignite the fuse, so keep pressure on the lever until you throw.
  4. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 4
    4

Throw with an overhand motion. Hand grenades can be thrown naturally — the same way you might throw a baseball.[4] To throw, plant your feet about shoulder-width apart, put a slight bend in your knees, cock your arm back, and hurl the grenade over your head as you take a strong step forward. Your arm should pass next to your ear and you should twist slightly at the hips. Let the grenade roll out of your fingertips as it leaves your hand.

    • For the greatest distance and accuracy when throwing, follow through with your throwing motion. That is, after the grenade leaves your hand, let your arm continue its natural path downward and continue to twist slightly at the hips.
  5. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 5
    5

Take cover! Use the time available before the grenade explodes to protect yourself. Crouch, kneel, or lie prone behind any available cover to protect yourself from shrapnel. Keep in mind that in the types of situations in which you’re likely to use a hand grenade, you’ll probably want to be wary not just of the explosion of the grenade, but also of the possibility of enemy fire, so waste no time at all taking cover.

    • If no cover is available, flatten yourself against the ground and orient yourself toward the coming explosion. This minimizes your profile, presenting less of your body area to potentially deadly shrapnel.[5]
    • Once the grenade is in the air, it’s (literally and figuratively) out of your hands. Without pressure from your hand to hold the safety lever in place, its spring will push it up and away from the grenade, allowing the striker to ignite the fuse. For many grenades, at this point, you’ll have about four to five seconds before the grenade detonates. However, this can vary depending on the type of grenade you’re using or, rarely, whether your fuse is defective.

Throwing from Kneeling Position

  1. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 6
    1

Face sideways toward your target. Often, in combat situations, you won’t have the luxury of being able to throw grenades from the standing position. For instance, if you’re pinned down behind cover by enemy fire, you won’t want to expose your upper body by standing up to throw. Luckily, it’s also possible to throw grenades from positions that minimize your exposure to the enemy.

    • To throw a grenade from a kneeling position, start by getting in the proper stance. Bend your knees to lower yourself near to the ground, then turn your body ninety degrees away from the direction you intend to throw so that your throwing shoulder is facing away from your target. It’s hard to get the same sort of throwing power in the kneeling position that you’d get while standing, so turning to side is a smart choice because it allows you to throw across your body, maximizing your power.
  2. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 7
    2

Drop your non-throwing leg and put your throwing leg behind you. Bend your non-throwing leg and press it into the ground in front of you so that your knee is pointing toward your target. At the same time, stretch your throwing leg back behind you so that the side of your boot makes contact with the ground. Keep your throwing leg straight and locked for maximum stability.[6]

    • Keep in mind that the kneeling stance you use to throw grenades is not the same as the typical kneeling stance you may use in ordinary noncombat situations (like when you need to pick something up off the floor). This modified stance gives added stability and support while throwing that you can’t get by simply lowering one knee to the floor directly beneath you and bending the other in front of you.
  3. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 8
    3

Extend your non-throwing hand toward the target. Arm the grenade against your chest by pulling the pin and holding down the lever. As you cock your throwing arm back, stretch your other arm toward your target with your fingers extended and your thumb against the side of your hand. Keep your non-throwing arm at a slightly raised angle (about 45o). If you’re positioning your arm correctly, you should look somewhat like you’re flexing like a bodybuilder.

    • As mentioned above, the kneeling stance doesn’t have as much throwing power as the standing stance. Extending your non-throwing arm in this way allows you to gain extra leverage in your follow-through, slightly increasing your throwing force.
  4. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 9
    4

Throw with an overhand motion and follow through. Launch the grenade over your head, bringing your arm past your ear and twisting at the hips as you throw. For added power, push off with your throwing leg, which should still be firmly planted against the ground behind you.

    • Don’t forget to take cover! Get as low as possible behind the sturdiest cover available. As always, if no cover is available, press yourself prone against the ground and face the direction of the blast.

3

Throwing from Prone Position

  1. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 10
    1

Lie on your back as you remove the pin. Of all the hand grenade throwing positions, the prone stance typically offers the least power, distance, and accuracy, so, when other throwing stances are possible, they’re usually preferable. However, in situations where you’re pinned behind very low cover, you may not want to risk exposing yourself to enemy fire by taking the time to rise to a kneeling position when you throw. In these cases, throwing from prone may be the only way to strike the enemy without putting yourself in mortal danger.

    • To begin, lie on your back behind your cover. You should be lying parallel to the action with your throwing arm positioned away from your target. This allows you easily grip and arm the grenade against your chest and also gives you the best possible view of the conditions around you so that you can react as necessary.
  2. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 11
    2

Cock your throwing leg back and ready the grenade to throw. Bend your throwing leg at a 90o angle, keeping it in contact with your other knee. Brace the side of your boot against the ground. As in the kneeling stance, this will give you added stability and power while throwing.

    • Simultaneously, arm the grenade by pulling the pin and depressing the lever. Cock your throwing arm next to your ear and get ready to throw.
  3. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 12
    3

Throw the grenade across your body with a rolling motion. To throw the grenade, push off with your throwing foot and roll yourself toward your target as you launch the grenade across your body. Follow through with this motion. If needed, you can even roll all the way over. Keep your head and body low as you throw, however — the primary advantage of the prone stance is that it minimizes your exposure to enemy fire, so stay low to maintain this advantage.

    • If you can, you may also want to use your non-throwing hand to grab any object in front of you for extra leverage.
  4. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 13
    4

Take cover. Since you’re already lying in the prone position, you won’t need to “get low” after you release the grenade. You should, however, make sure that you’re behind any available cover. As mentioned above, if there’s no cover available, you’ll want to orient yourself in the direction of the blast to minimize the profile area that you expose to shrapnel.

    • It bears mentioning that, even with proper form, you’ll have a very difficult time getting the same sort of throwing distance from the prone position as you might from the kneeling and (especially) the standing position. Because the grenade is likely to be closer to you when it explodes, it’s even more important to protect yourself after throwing.

Throwing Live Grenades Safely

  1. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 14
    1

Pick the correct grenade for your job. Hand grenades come in a huge variety of forms. Some are made for inflicting casualties on the enemy, others for merely stunning or subduing them non-lethally, and still others for inflicting damage on non-human targets. It’s extremely important to be aware of the type of grenade you’re throwing (and how it’s used) before you throw it — if you use the wrong grenade, the results can be disastrous. Below are a few of the most common grenade types:[7]

    • Fragmentation grenades: Produces many small pieces of shrapnel upon detonation. Usually considered lethal to non-armored targets at close ranges with rapidly decreasing effectiveness at longer ranges. Shrapnel can penetrate soft barriers like wood, plaster, and tin, but not usually cinder blocks, sandbags, and armor.
    • Concussion grenades: Creates an explosion with extreme concussive force. This concussive effect is amplified in enclosed environments, making it useful in urban areas and bunkers, fortified enclosures, and so on. Can also be used for improvised demolition.
    • Incendiary grenades: Produces extremely high-temperature flames. Can set fire to flammable structures, destroy equipment and weapons, and even penetrate armored vehicles in certain situations.
    • Smoke grenades: Produces either white or colored smoke. Usually used to conceal infantry or light vehicle movement or to make positions visible to friendly forces.
    • Stun grenades: Sometimes called “flashbangs”, these produce a deafening bang and a bright flash, momentarily disorienting targets in the room.
    • Riot control grenades: Usually loaded with teargas, rubber pellets, or other nonlethal deterrents, these grenades are meant to disperse and subdue crowds without causing mortal injuries.
  2. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 15
    2

Know the lethal range of your grenade. Grenades can easily cause friendly fire casualties if they detonate too close to you or friendly forces, so it’s extremely important to know what ranges are considered “safe” and which are not. Even if you’re well outside of your grenade’s lethal range, you’ll want to take cover before it detonates. Though rare, it’s possible for a grenade to send shrapnel, debris, or concussive blasts beyond its designated lethal range, so don’t expose yourself to these dangers needlessly.

    • For fragmentation grenades, ranges within 15-20 meters (50-65 feet) are generally considered to produce casualties. While shrapnel can potentially fly as far as 60 meters (about 200 feet), the speed of the shrapnel decreases rapidly with distance, making casualties at these ranges are rare.[8]
    • Concussion grenades have much smaller ranges on open terrain — usually just a few meters. However, in enclosed areas, their killing power is greatly amplified. In these situations, it’s best to entirely remove yourself from the bunker, enclosure, etc. before throwing the grenade in.
    • Other grenades have much more limited damaging ranges. An incendiary grenade is usually lethal only if you come into contact with its flames, find yourself trapped in a burning building, or suffocate on its smoke in an enclosed area. Smoke grenades can cause burns at extremely close ranges but aren’t usually considered lethal. Stun and riot control grenades are explicitly designed to be nonlethal, though rare accidents can result in fatalities.[9]
  3. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 16
    3

Take extreme care when “cooking off” your grenade. Since grenades have a timed fuse, it’s theoretically possible for an enemy target to pick up the grenade and throw it back at you. To avoid this, some soldiers use a technique called “cooking off” their grenade — intentionally holding it for a short time before throwing it to shorten or eliminate the amount of time that the enemy has to throw it back. To cook off a grenade, pull the pin, release the lever, count to “one one thousand” or “two one thousand,” then throw. Most combat grenades have a four or five second fuse, so don’t cook off your grenade for more than one or two seconds unless you’re positive its fuse is longer.

    • Note that this technique is also sometimes used to increase a grenade’s effectiveness against bunkers or other fortified emplacements — in these cases, having the grenade explode in the air above the target can be preferable to having it explode on the ground.
    • Note also that many former Soviet Union grenades have a slightly shorter fuse than American grenades — often about three to four seconds.
  4. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 17
    4

Avoid throwing grenades up stairs or hills. When throwing any grenade, lethal or non-lethal, it’s important to remember that the grenade can roll. Thus, if it lands on a slope, it may roll away from your target or, worse, roll back toward you. For this reason, it’s generally a bad idea to through grenades onto sloped surfaces, especially up inclines that you’re at the bottom of.[10]

    • If you absolutely have to throw a grenade uphill, try cooking it off beforehand and giving it a high arc so that it explodes in the air above your target or else has little time to roll back towards you.
  5. Image titled Throw a Hand Grenade Step 18
    5

Know the effectiveness of your cover. Taking cover before a grenade detonates can literally make the difference between life and death, especially if you’re within its lethal range. Putting physical barriers between yourself and the detonating grenade is almost always a good idea (except for smoke grenades, for obvious reasons). However, not all forms of cover are equal when it comes to grenades. For your personal safety, it’s important to understand the difference between “good” and “bad” cover before you throw your first grenade.

    • The shrapnel from fragmentation grenades can penetrate wood, plaster, glass, furniture, and thin layers of metal, especially at short ranges. On the other hand, thicker, heavier materials like sandbags, cinder blocks, stone, and thick metal can usually block shrapnel — the thicker, the better.
    • Note that the shockwave from a concussion grenade can travel long distances through enclosed spaces (even around corners). Thus, in bunkers, tight corridors, and other enclosed spaces, cover may not offer protection from concussion grenades.
    • While incendiary grenades have a short effective range, they can burn at temperatures of over 2,200o C (almost 4,000o F).[11] This is hot enough to melt through steel, so distance, not cover, is essential for protecting yourself against these grenades.

LATEST – Controversial Survey Claims ZANU PF Bombed Itself In Bulawayo On Saturday

By A Correspondent| A highly controversial survey claims that ZANU PF bombed itself on Saturday.

The survey was done by the popular Trends SADC organisation on their Twitter handle. For reliability, a strict IP filter was used to ensure only real human beings participate. The findings blamed both ZANU PF and military elements for the bomb blast that could have easily killed Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and his wife, (although other analysts have claimed President Emmerson Mnangagwa was also targeted. OPEN LETTER TO NELSON CHAMISA

Dear Mr Chamisa. I am a member of the military intelligence based in Harare. I wish to bring to your attention what happened in Bulawayo on Saturday. This is a planned operation targeting you young man.

In Bulawayo we were instructed to miss the target but in your case we will not miss the target. The idea is to appear as if there is now terrorism in Zimbabwe. There is absolutely no terrorism in Zimbabwe but our bosses are afraid of elections. Their situation is further worsened by Jonso who is exposing their rigging strategies.

Remember the failed Mabhinya strategy? We shelved the strategy after people exposed us through what’s app.

I decided to warn you because of we, the military intelligence are tired of being used. After removing Mugabe when we followed up our payment , the boss said ‘kana ukainda kumaricho kunorima nema donkey chii chinobhadharwa? Idonkey here kana kuti muridzi wedonkey?’

We call ourselves Zimbabwe for Zimbabweans . More exposure to come

Nonsense – Stop Lying That You Didn’t See The Grenade Thrower!

By Ndaba Nhuku| Someone somewhere saw it all at White City stadium on Saturday. Are you telling me that the people who were standing next to the grenade thrower were blind not to see him? Really?

Even inside a church meeting, not everyone closes their eyes, but this was an open rally 5 metres from a whole Head of State. In that crowd that included various security agents and the masses, no-one saw the individual raise his arm, swing his arm, and throw a grenade towards guarded leaders?

EVERYONE was blind to see someone standing among themselves throwing a grenade? It’s not like a sharp shooter on top of some roof attempted a Kennedy on Chiwenga and Mnangagwa. Come on guys, let’s use common sense. Stand next to friends in a crowded place and raise your arm just to scratch your head and see how many people will look at your direction!!! And imagine throwing a grenade! You have to raise your hand and really swing your arm for the thing to go far! And no-one saw that in that crowd swimming with security agents? You are crazy to believe that nonsense.

My common sense tells me the person was apprehended, but most likely, deliberately silenced forever!

One day, the truth will come out.

    • As mentioned above, the kneeling stance doesn’t have as much throwing power as the standing stance. Extending your non-throwing arm in this way allows you to gain extra leverage in your follow-through, slightly increasing your throwing force.

Undeterred Mnangagwa Returns

By Paul Nyathi|Hardly a week after an assassination attempt which the state broadcaster the ZBC blamed on people from Matabeleland region, President Emmerson Mnangagwa will on Wednesday return to the region to address a campaign rally in Hwange Matabeleleland North province.

Mnangagwa escaped death by a whisker when a bomb was thrown at him as he made his way out of a similar campaign rally at White City Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday afternoon.

He will address the rally in Hwange soon after presiding over a ground-breaking ceremony at the Zimbabwe Power Company expansion project.

The ground-breaking ceremony will be held at ZPC power station in the morning while the Zanu-PF rally has been set for Hwange Colliery Stadium in the afternoon.

Zesa has donated 5 000 litres of fuel.

Water will be provided through bowsers at the venues as the coal mining town faces critical water challenges.

14 Year Old Child Hospitalised From Mnangagwa Bombing Scene. How Did He Get There?

By Paul Nyathi|Authorities at Mpilo Hospital in Bulawayo have revealed that a 14 year old child is amongst the people admitted at the hospital following a bomb blast at a ZANU PF rally on Saturday.

Two people have since died at the hospital from injuries sustained from the bombing.

Mpilo Central Hospital clinical director Dr Solwayo Ngwenya said three patients were still in the intensive care unit while three others had been transferred to Harare after their relatives made the request.

Dr Ngwenya said 29 people were brought to the hospital on Saturday including the 14-year-old. Thirteen were treated and discharged on the same day, leaving 16 admitted.

“We are now left with nine patients of which three of them are critical in the intensive care unit. Some of them are currently undergoing surgery and blood transfusion and we hope they will survive,” said Dr Ngwenya.

The ruling party has been widely condemned for forcing school children under the age of 18 to attend its rallies in order to boost numbers.

It is however not yet clear how the 14 year old child managed to be at the VVIP session where the bomb was detonated. Social media was awash with unconfirmed rumours on Saturday evening that the bomb which missed President Emmerson Mnangagwa by a whisker had been thrown into the VVIP area by a suspected ten year old child.

Meanwhile, National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the death of the two people indicating that investigations were still underway and no official information on the investigations is available yet.

“The ZRP wishes to inform the nation that investigations into the White City Stadium bombing incident still continue.

“However it’s with great sadness and grief that two people succumbed to injuries sustained during the bombing. May their souls rest in eternal peace. The ZRP also extends sincere condolences to bereaved families,” said Snr Asst Comm Charamba.

She appealed for more information from the public that will aid in their investigations.

“On the same note we want to thank those patriotic Zimbabweans who have so far provided valuable information,” said Snr Asst Comm Charamba.

Grace Mugabe “In Victory Celebrations?”, State Media Throws Whole Article Based On “Undated Frozen Frame”

Former First Lady Grace Mugabe

But can a single picture be relied upon to tell a whole newspaper story?

By Paul Nyathi| State run Herald Newspaper has produced a picture of a youngish looking former First Lady Grace Mugabe flashing a V-sign the paper claims signifies “victory”.

The paper alleges that the picture circulated in social media circles on Monday. The paper cast out the coincidence of Mrs Mugabe’s victory celebration three days after the attempted assassination of President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Bulawayo.

Mnangagwa survived a bomb blast which has so far claimed two officially reported deaths and over forty injuries.

The picture was alleged to have been captured in Singapore where Grace and her husband Robert Mugabe are visiting a hospital after the 94 year old former president’s health deteriorated last week.

Mugabe has not made an official comment on the assassination attempts on his successor who took over power through a military assisted coup in November last year. Mugabe had ruled the country for 37 years at the time.

But can a single picture be relied upon to tell a whole newspaper story?

A picture is a frozen frame, and to prove that someone did something, evidence would require several frames to satisfy the claim. Evidence of this nature would require hundreds of frames since there are at least 25 frames per second in a standard motion video clip, ZimEye contends.

In this regard, if Grace Mugabe did throw a celebration party on the mere basis of the above picture, she did so for the duration of a fraction of a second: to be precise 1/25 seconds, as ZimEye reveals in this analysis. If she did celebrate, was she truly celebrating the bombing? Did the state journalist interview Mrs Mugabe and prove that this was the case?

Furthermore the picture is undated and no one has to date proved its date.

Notwithstanding, this was the state media’s rendition.

MDC-T Gets A Deal With The Herald Newspaper

MDC-T Presidential Spokesperson Dr Nkululeko Sibanda (second from left) with Ceaser Zvayi Herald Editor on his left.

MDC-T presidential spokesman Dr Nkululeko Sibanda yesterday paid a courtesy call on The Herald Editor-in-Chief Caesar Zvayi.

Dr Sibanda, who was accompanied by senior official Ms Maureen Kademaunga, met Zvayi in his office along with his deputy Joram Nyathi.

Dr Sibanda said that he had a frank and progressive discussion with Zvayi.

“We had a progressive meeting,” said Dr Sibanda.

“We talked about understanding that political contestation is necessary for the development of our country and in our continent and that we need to work together regardless of perceptions.”

The visit by Dr Sibanda is the first by the opposition presidential spokesperson to engage the institution on issues of mutual concern

Dr Sibanda said it was important to raise their concerns with The Herald as one of the big daily newspapers in the country.

“For me, I hope that is the first step for us to engage regardless of perceptions and we also accept that we as MDC we do not expect any newspapers to cover us as we wish to be covered,” he said. “We simply accept that everybody has their opinion.

“However, there was an undertaking from the leadership here that coverage would be normalised.”

Dr Sibanda said Zvayi told him his door was open.

“Even some people in the MDC felt that The Herald is here to also serve the interest of the party by virtue of it being one of the largest political players in the country,” said Dr Sibanda.

“The editor noted that there had been no direct communication between the organisation and the MDC which we are beginning to do.

“We talked a lot about the requirement of this institution to cover the political playing field fairly and equitably.”

On the part of MDC, Dr Sibanda said he made an undertaking that he would ensure that reporters from The Herald covering MDC events are safe.

Journalists from The Herald have been attacked by MDC-T supporters in the past.

He said Zvayi also assured him that there was no deliberate policy by The Herald to avoid covering the MDC.

On his part Zvayi welcomed Dr Sibanda’s visit saying The Herald was fully aware of its constitutional and statutory obligations and would strive to give all political parties coverage.

He welcomed Dr Sibanda’s promise to supply The Herald with the party’s schedule of rallies.

Chamisa Finally Exposes Charamba

MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa LIVE in Kadoma yesterday exposed the presidential spokesman George Charamba who for a while has been claiming that he (Chamisa) wants a secret GNU with Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In an electric delivery, Chamisa said,

“He (George Charamba) is not mature at all; what does George Charamba do? He goes to the Herald to lie that I want to go into a deal with Mnangagwa…
“They did not understand because they do not understand leadership, I said it to Mnangagwa last year after the coup, that we must form a transitional government. And what did they do? They teamed with Matemadanda and went about screaming nonsense. Let me now spill the beans.”

BELOW WERE EXCERPTS FROM THE SPEECH:

Everyone I thank you; I have toured this whole country.. the people in Chipinge told me that they have been forgotten; the only person who loved them was Ndabaningi Sithole. The only other person  who has been there was Mai Mujuru.

Let me get to speed to fix this country it can be fixed in a very short time. I got to this place where they keep crocodiles and they told me this is where we prepare crocodile meat. I refused and said I don’t want; I want to meet the Croc on July 30.

Thokozani Khupe aide Lynette Mudehwe
I also saw this young man Wadyajena and what he claims. One thing certain is that old people in this nation are tired; they’re crying for Change.
I arrived to this other place and I said school children must be avoided from political rallies. We do not want school children who are involved in petty politics; children must be left to schools so that they learn and prepare for their tomorrow.
Where we are now it will be a miracle for zanu-pf to survive. So we know it very well and we said Emmerson mnangagwa is being pursued in politics. This year zanu PF can only ring the elections.
“Moses” Tsvangirai showed us the way to Canaan. If you try to stop me you will not succeed. So I say to the Electoral Commission we will not accept. You Chigumba let me tell you you must listen to the people of Zimbabwe the children of this nation want fairness. The first thing she did was the registering of Thokozani Khupe against the law. That was wrong.
So we know it very well that ZEC is working against us, and we haven’t started. We said it. We can shut things down at any time. No one will move when we say no. If people are not happy they can demonstrate and they will demonstrate. I will now use sign language because you are not listening to dialogue. We are seeing what you are doing because you are allowing even people who are saying they are independent to use our party logo, so that you can give advantage to zanu PF. But this time I tell you you will not bite.
According to the law we have to agree that the Ballot paper has to be printed by who, where, and using what type of materials and be monitored until the date of voting.
I am being told and information is coming to me that Chinese are being used in this scam as well. As you all know what they are I am told, and information is generally leaked to me. I monitored in the middle of the night and noticed at Prince Charles what they were doing. I spoke out that Mnangagwa is failing the nation.
He (George Charamba) is not mature at all; what does George Charamba do? He goes to the Herald to lie that I want to go into a deal with Mnangagwa…
They did not understand because they do not understand leadership, I said it to Mnangagwa last year after the coup, that we must form a transitional government. And what did they do? They teamed with Matemadanda and went about screaming nonsense. Let me now spill the beans.
I said that there is no way the electioncan be held with a voters roll that does not have pictures of voters.
I am telling South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa. I will tell SADC.
If I do not win myself this election would not be a real election.
The bullet must be guided by the Ballot not the Ballot being guided by the bullet. When you see the gun control in politics there is something wrong in the country. We are a liberated country the issue we vote for in the Independence war is one man one vote. The leader of the nation does not come out of grenades. It has to be a free and fair election.
When we are going to elections what we are demanding is very simple. We’re not that are opening a planning something. But let me tell you this year there is no way we can be beaten at fair elections. Anyway where you go in Zimbabwean Society people are talking about change change change everywhere anywhere with the nurses education and all the other sectors of society people are screaming for Change
I’ve told you the way we are demanding. As you are looking at us some of you might say Chamisa is too young. But I say even to Chiwenga you yourself when you joined politics you were younger than me so what has changed now? Let us change this country stand for it and pour sugar on it.
We must change this issue of the age bar been 40 and above because it does not make sense to claim that a person’s maturity comes with age. Some of us were supposed to be working the system has retired us how does that work? So we will not accept this issue of using age numbers to determine who must lead.
Can Mnangagwa go to talk to Macron and they agree? There is needed a Google face a digital face not an analogue face.
So those who know how we are moving as we are getting to elections we are ready for Victory. We are preparing a smart government. Smart is on three pillars:

I can’t stop laughing reading this. Let me share, can’t laugh alone. It’s so funny, not trying to offend my friends though.

Quote::

Based on the manner in which our security services behaved moments after that explosion went off yesterday, I honestly do not think our soldiers can win a war against a group of monkeys.

Have you ever seen how cockroaches behave as soon as you walk into the kitchen and switch the lights on late at night? They all scatter in different directions, isn’t it? They all adopt a “each cockroach for himself and God for us all, handei tione ana mhata” mentality.

That’s exactly what we witnessed yesterday.

There was chaos, confusion, panic, disorganizationand fear. Mnangagwa’s bodyguards, who like to appear very tough and menacing simply vanished. Hanzi there were were seven people in the presidential car including a garden boy packed in there like tinned fish! Mnangagwa actually ended up in the front passenger seat!! Can you imagine that! Such was the chaos.

The tough talking illiterate vice president, Chiwenga the greatest soldier ever, had long abandoned his wife and ran for dear life. He was paralysed with fear and was seen tightly holding onto the other vice president, Kembo Mohadi, who at this point had urinated himself. Hanzi the urine had dripped down into his shoes such that when he ran, all you could hear was CHAPWA CHAPWA CHAPWA…the sounds of wet socks and feet drenched in urine. Chiwenga’s wife, Merryfields, was trapped underneath a fat minister and subsequently broke her legs and ribs.

ZANU PF supporters, shame maningi, couldn’t find their worthless leader, the Great Fearless Crocodile. All they could see was his car speeding off into the distance, leaving them to face the music on their own. They looked to the stage to see if the tough talking vice president was there for them, but all that was left was a large dildo, a pregnant Emmerson Jnr, a disabled guy in a wheelchair and fat worthless ministers rolling all over the place.

There was no one to calm the crowd. There was no one to direct the crowd in an orderly manner. The soldiers were lying on the ground in fear of another attack. They were dispersed, had no visuals of each other. In the end, they all left in a hurry back to wherever they are camped at and nobody even bothered to investigate what had happened.

I’m telling you, we will never win a war against a group of monkeys.

Zanuism, Mnangagwa And The Military Impeding Progress In Zimbabwe

Gus Manatsa believes that Zanu Pf provides the most shocking example of the culture of exceptionalism where the party believes that they are entitled to rule forever.

He shares his views on what is impeding meaningful progress in Zimbabwe and he identifies Zanuism, Mnangagwa and the military.

Writes Manatsa:

Zanu-PF provides the most shocking example of the culture of exceptionalism which has characterised many a liberation party in power. These include:
• the belief that it is entitled to rule forever,
• blatantly refusing to view itself as an ordinary political party (watch Mutsvangwa talk),
• its conflating of party and state, and
• its demonising of other parties as ‘enemies of liberation’ seeking to restore colonialism or white minority rule.

Experience has taught us that there are three major barriers to a decisive break from the corrupt and dysfunctional political system that has been playing out in Zimbabwe: the ruling Zanu PF, its president and its main sustainer – the military.

No one in Zanu PF wants to oversee real change because facilitating democratic rule with real contestation for power would mean running the risk of electoral defeat. This would jeopardise the networks of self-enrichment that have been put in place over decades.

Instead, the last few months have seen Zanu-PF, Mnangagwa and the military continue to block democracy as they seek to hold onto power.

The Zanuism beast
Despite its pretention, Zanu-PF has remained the major hindrance to democratic progress in Zimbabwe. For 38 years, the country has maintained the outward appearance of a multiparty democracy.

This party brings a zero-sum game mentality to politics: it must always prevail, and its challengers must be crushed rather than accommodated. Especially now that Mnangagwa, Chiwenga aka Dominic Chinenge and Shiri aka Bigboy Samson Chikerema, are now in total control.

While the opposition parties formally exist, they have not been allowed to win an election. For years, the rural electorate has been frog marched to voting booths with one instruction…. vote Zanu Pf or else.

Supported by an expansive web of patronage networks, Zanu-PF colonised the state over many years, yet we continuously hear loud slogans of anti-colonialism. The patronage has been entrenched to facilitate the looting of the state’s resources and rundown the country’s key institutions. Any form of democratic change and accountable government poses a mortal threat to these networks and Zanu pf and its cohorts will not surrender such privileges without intense resistance.

The junta president
Mnangagwa would want us to believe that he is an agent of change but his ominous record makes it difficult to build a persuasive case that he represents a new beginning. For over 40 years, he was Mugabe’s chief enforcer. He played a top role in the breakdown of the rule of law and the collapse of the Zimbabwean economy. And he was a chief strategist for the gross human rights abuses that have characterised Zanu-PF rule.

There are well documented deadly abuses by government forces against any opposition activists and civil society groups. These abuses have included mass killing, forced displacement and disappearances, torture, and sexual violence. The most intense episodes of violence against civilians in Zimbabwe include the systematic attacks on political opposition such as the elections in 2002 and 2008, major military operations (Gukurahundi massacres from 1983 to 1987) and the displacement of over 700,000 people because of Operation Murambatsvina in 2005. This is a past for which he has declined to accept any responsibility.

His more conciliatory language has not matched his actions. After becoming president, he appointed an administration of cronies, perpetual under-performers, thieves, military hardliners (Chiwenga and co) and so-called war veterans. No one has been arrested and tried for corruption except for the circus involving Ignatius Chombo. Such appointments are not in the national interest but to consolidate the power of the now dominant faction of Zanu-PF: the old guard securocrats who dismantled the G40 through the barrel of a gun rather than democratic processes.

Having waited for four decades to land the top job, it is difficult to envisage Mnangagwa now placing his hard-earned spoils at the mercy of a genuine democratisation process. Remember that Mnangagwa was implicated in an alleged foiled coup back in 2007.

The military
By removing Mugabe, the Zimbabwe Defence Force has secured a place for itself as a privileged political actor and overseer of the entire political system.
In any case, the defence force has never been a neutral custodian of constitutional rule. Instead it has always been a highly politicised extension of the ruling party, a party militia and the muscle for the party’s top brass to loot the country’s precious resources.

Before November 2017, its role was confined to repressing the ruling party’s opponents and maintaining the party’s dominance. The principle of civilian rule was respected even if this model of civil-military relations failed to meet very basic and reasonable democratic standards. But with the coup, the military crossed a line. They determined the outcome of power struggles within the Zanu and introduced a culture of coups in Southern Africa (less Lesotho).

In the same way that the military has been politicised, the political system has been heavily militarised. This can be seen in the several key military veterans who have been appointed to the cabinet as well as Mnangagwa being the military’s candidate for the presidency. Essentially this is the civilian face of quasi-military rule in Zimbabwe.

This points to an effective “barracks democracy” that has taken root in this country. The military has secured a veto over the leadership of the ruling party and over the wider political process. For this reason, the military feels it reserves the right to reject election results that it does not approve of, or to take action that could prevent such results materialising in the first place.

It is not surprising to see the drama at ZEC. In the words of one Prof Jonathan Moyo, it doesn’t take rocket science to realise that Chigumba is just a civilian symbolic face of the military. Otherwise how would one explain the extreme arrogance, and lies spewing out of the ZEC?

It is absurd for anyone to believe that the military’s removal of Mugabe was a superseding good. For a start, it ignores the fact that a coup lacks any measure of national interest, or that national interest is synonymous with such an unconstitutional act. Zimbabweans and indeed the world simply celebrated the removal of a long-time dictator not the coup itself.

Secondly, it is dangerously naïve to expect such a politicised military force to help facilitate genuine democratic transition when its entire existence has been to preserve one-party rule (under a leadership of its choosing), to disable meaningful opposition and to preserve its own corruption networks. Remember, the broad objective of the Gukurahundi campaign was political – to attain a one-party state, which in turn necessitated the obliteration of the rival nationalist party, Zapu.

Disturbing prospects
True democratisation – as opposed to merely maintaining the procedural forms of democratic government – is anathema to Zimbabwe’s ruling party, its president and the military. Their task is to secure support for a measure of liberalisation; pretend to tackle corruption; and provide a smokescreen of a largely vacuous democratic rhetoric (such as the Zimbabwe is open for business mantra).

This push is to convince the international community that they are doing enough to progress the country from tyranny. This way, aid, investment and endorsements will pour in. Actual power relations inside the country will not change.

WHAT’S GOING ON NOW? Minister Announces Saying “Our Vice President Chiwenga Is Well Known For His Discipline”

By Farai D Hove | One could hear a tiny pin drop inside the Harare International Conference Centre today when the Minister of Women and Youth Affairs, Sithembiso Nyoni announced saying Vice President Constantino Chiwenga “is well known for his discipline.”

The word discipline appears to carry with it millions of meanings and it once got Foreign Affairs Minister SB Moyo in media-trouble with British journalists at the Chatham House thinktank in London.

But Minister Nyoni spoke loudly saying, “our Vice President Chiwenga is well known for his discipline,” when she was announcing his rising to the podium during the opening of the Zimbabwe Women’s Bank. WATCH THE LIVE VIDEO BELOW:

Two Bomb Blast Victims Killed

By Own Correspondent| Two of the victims of the White City Stadium bombing have succumbed to injuries sustained in the explosion, Health and Child Care Minister, David Parirenyatwa has confirmed.

Yesterday, Dr Parirenyatwa revealed that while some of the 49 victims of the blast had been discharged by end of day, 3 of the victims remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

He said of the serious cases admitted at Mpilo hospital on the day of the explosion, some of the victims’ conditions had stabilised and they had been moved to the general wards.

“However, we still have 3 people who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),” said Dr Parirenyatwa in an interview with the national broadcaster.

The deceased are one CIO officer by name, Stanley Magunzva and the second, only identified as Katengu.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa including several senior government officials survived the bombing at the Zanu PF rally last Saturday.

The explosion, which occurred while President Mnangagwa was leaving the podium after finishing his address injured 49 people, 6 of them seriously

The Zimbabwe Republic Police recently issued a statement in which they offered an unspecified reward for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator of Saturday’s bombing.

Police Spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba however urged the media not to speculate but report objectively on the incident which she said was uncalled for in a country like Zimbabwe.

She revealed that investigations were currently underway to get to the bottom of the issue.

Charamba: ED Didn’t Stage The Bomb Explosion, Remember We Have Unresolved Leadership Issues

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesman George Charamba has dismissed rumours that Mnangagwa’s administration had a hand in the bomb which exploded on Saturday in Bulawayo at White City Stadium.

The explosion has killed 2 people so far as at least 49 people were injured in the explosion.

Charamba was quoted by the local Daily News narrating reasons why Mnangagwa went out visiting hospitals instead of rushing for security protocols following the attempt on his life.

Charamba was quoted saying,” You think where you have such serious injuries, including high-profile ones; you use such an incident, to achieve what? I mean, that’s a bit of a psychopathic thinking. That is uncalled for in circumstances that are so dire and quite serious…The safety was there. If you notice there was a time gap between the attack and the time he then went to Mater Dei. Lots of things happened and we don’t have to go shouting on a rooftop.

“…The safety was there. If you notice there was a time gap between the attack and the time he then went to Mater Dei. Lots of things happened and we don’t have to go shouting on a rooftop…If the president had gone straight for the airport, what is he suggesting? That the people in Bulawayo can’t be protected? Or that those injured shouldn’t be commiserated with? So he does his human and State duties. And it’s his responsibility anyway to secure the country. So people shouldn’t reduce matters that are so serious to fanciful scenarios.

“…there are unresolved leadership issues in this country, don’t forget that…You see, generally, it’s very difficult to insure against a device that can be thrown at its target. It can happen anytime and anywhere.”

Zanu PF Youths Threaten To Kill Teachers

Terrence Mawawa

Zanu PF youths in Zaka District have threatened to throw petrol bombs at teachers’ houses to avenge the bombing of party members in Bulawayo at the weekend.

At least 42 people- including Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Zanu PF national chairperson Oppah Muchinguri and Mary Chiwenga were injured following the grenade attack at White City Stadium.

A Zanu PF Youth League member yesterday said teachers in Zaka would be killed for campaigning for MDC Alliance.

“We already have the names of teachers who are campaigning for MDC Alliance at Tsiga and Chimunhu Primary Schools.

We are not happy with the bombing incident at White City Stadium so we will kill teachers who are campaigning for the opposition,” said a Zanu PF youth who identified himself as Sayi.

Mugabe Family Member Joins Chamisa Chete Chete Calls

Patrick Zhuwawo

By Paul Nyathi|Former President Robert Mugabe’s nephew Patrick Zhuwawo has declared his undying support for MDC Alliance Presidential Candidate Nelson Chamisa against President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In a Facebook post on Monday Zhuwawo declared that he is campaigning for the young opposition leader in order to have the Mnangagwa coup government removed in a democratic process.

Zhuwawo wrote:

Less than a year ago some of us, particularly NPF members and supporters, worked with the likes of Mnangagwa and Chiwenga. After the 15 November 2017 coup we stopped working with them because they turned their guns on President Mugabe and his colleagues by staging a coup.

On 18 November 2017 some people were fooled by Chiwenga and Mnangagwa to give cover to the coup; VAKAITISWA! Most of those who marched on 18 November have seen the light and no longer support the coup.

NPF was formed on 7 December 2017 with 2 main objectives as a response to the coup. First, NPF provides a political home for orphans of the military takeover of ZANU PF. Secondly, NPF seeks to democratically remove the coup government and restore legitimacy and constitutionalism. We must all join forces to remove EDiots and restore legitimacy and constitutionalism at the 2018 elections despite having been on different sides before.

As Patrick Zhuwao, I support our NPF parliamentary and council candidates. Their participation in the 2018 elections gives all political orphans of the military takeover of
ZANU PF a home. These political orphans will now be represented in parliament and in councils.

I also support Nelson Chamisa as the Presidential Candidate for the 2018 elections. My support for Nelson Chamisa aims to focus all progressive forces towards democratically removing the coup government and restoring legitimacy and constitutionalism. You may have doubts and misgiving about Nelson Chamisa but they can never be bigger than the need to remove violence and the use of the military from our politics. I am urging ALL of us to support Nelson Chamisa for President in the 30 July 2018 Elections.

Chamisa Condemns Attack On Zanu Pf Stalwarts At White City Stadium

By Own Correspondent| The MDC Alliance has urged government to thoroughly investigate and bring to book perpetrators of the heinous attack on Zanu Pf President Emmerson Mnangagwa and party supporters which occurred last weekend at a rally at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.

In a statement issued today (Monday), the Alliance unreservedly condemned the attack describing it as a “dastard act of violence” which has no space in a democratic country like Zimbabwe.

Said the MDC Alliance in a statement:

“The MDC unreservedly condemns the dastardly act of violence that occurred at the Zanu PF rally at White City Stadium in Bulawayo over the weekend. Such primitive and heinous actions have no place in the New Zimbabwe, which we envisage.

The MDC respects the sanctity of life irrespective of one’s political affiliation, creed or colour.

The terrible events at White City stadium should be thoroughly investigated and perpetrators brought to book.  Our prayers go out to the injured and we hope no lives have been lost. Violence must have no place in our politics.

Regrettably, this occurrence is reminiscent of Zanu PF’s past 38 years culture of governance in Zimbabwe, which has been characterized by state-party conflation, fear, capture and coercion. We in the MDC have been victims to this barbarism for many years, with impunity.

The New MDC Alliance government pledges to create a free Zimbabwe where citizens’ rights are respected and safeguarded, where individuals are free to pursue their aspirations.

The MDC Alliance is for a tolerant, competent and consulting state in which power is accountable to the citizens.

In redefining the Zimbabwean State, a new social contract with the citizens will be critical. Of importance, it must be accountable to the citizen through parliament, a free press, the Constitution and the holding of free and fair elections.

May God bless and protect the country we all love.”

Meanwhile, the Polish Football Association was fined 10,000 Swiss francs ($10,100) and given a warning by FIFA on Saturday for a banner that was deemed politically offensive.

MDC Blames Mnangagwa Government For ‘Crippling’ Local Authorities

Terrence Mawawa

A member of the MDC Youth Assembly, Godfrey Kurauone has blamed President Emmerson Mnangagwa’ s government for deliberately crippling development initiatives in local authorities.

Kurauone is also the councillor for ward 4, Masvingo Urban Constituency.

Ironically last month Mnangagwa claimed the MDC led local had dismally failed to serve their respective communities. Mnangagwa described MDC councillors as self centred criminals.

In a direct response to Mnangagwa’ s remarks, Kurauone told local residents the councillors’ efforts to implement community projects were being frustrated by the central government.

“Our efforts to carry out community projects are being frustrated by bottlenecks in the present government structures.

We hope that our president Nelson Chamisa will win the July 30 plebiscite.

In actual fact we know that he will win.The MDC Government will therefore do away with unnecessary bureaucratic tendencies,” said Kurauone.

ED Pays For Failing To Deal With Criminals Around Mugabe, Says Msipa

The London based lawyer and Director Of Africa Public Policy Research Institute, Lloyd Msipa writes saying President Emmerson Mnangagwa is paying a huge price for failing to deal decisively with the criminals around former President Robert Mugabe.

Says Msipa: “Conspiracy theories are being thrown around with regard to who was responsible for the attempted assassination of President E.D Mnangagwa. Most prominent amongst them are that the attack was an inside job driven by the deep rooted division between VP Chiwenga and President Mnangagwa. Some have even gone to suggest that the divisions extended all the way down to the first and second lady.

“This is all utter nonsense, Chiwenga and E.D are close buddies going back to the war of liberation, their hold on power is very much depended on each other playing their role. They are nothing without each other. The second one which is the most ridiculous, that the incident was staged to avoid elections and put in place a state of emergency has been dismissed by VP Chiwenga in his recent rallies.

“The smoking gun lies elsewhere. One of the fundamental tenets of a power transfer or change of guard is that it creates enemies as it takes away from one to benefit another. All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: the enemy will recover, and will seek revenge.

“Crush him, not only in body but in spirit. It appears that E.D Mnangagwa is learning the hard way. His benevolence and forgiving spirit is coming back to haunt him. His problem is not the people of Matebeleland. His problem is the ones that got away during the power transfer, his problem is the ones he forgave and allowed to live normal lives knowing fully well they will never allow him to govern in peace.

“The incidents ( both attempts, poisoning and bomb) were located in Matebeleland for a reason. If the assassination had succeeded, it would be very easy to explain away. Here was a man who was the enemy of an entire region because of his ’perceived’ role in the ’Gukurahundi’ conflict. If E.D had met his Waterloo in Bulawayo, his enemies would have caused the history books to record it as such. In the absence of another convincing narrative, it would have been so. As the investigation takes place, it is my considered view that the enemy is right there, hiding in plain sight. #Msipasaidit”

Islamic Council Condemns Bomb Attack On Mnangagwa

Attempt on President Mnangagwa’s life

The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Zimbabwe, on behalf of all Muslims in the country, condemns in the strongest possible terms the assassination attempt on Zimbabwe’s President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces on Saturday the 23rd of June, 2018, at a rally in Bulawayo.

Zimbabwe has for the first time in 38 years, embarked on a path towards peaceful, free, and fair elections under the new dispensation led by President Mnangagwa.

We join all peace loving people here and abroad in condemning this act that left 49 people injured. Our prayers go to the injured whom we wish a speedy recovery.

Those who committed this act clearly seek to destabilise our nation which is headed for peace and prosperity. The law must take its full course in pursuing those who wanted to bring confusion among our people.

We also applaud the mature stance taken by the President in declaring that this act will not in any way detail the pending elections.

God bless Zimbabwe.

Satanism Scare Rocks Sunningdale 2 Primary School

By Own Correspondent| Sunningdale 2 Primary School has been rocked by a satanism scare and parents are currently protesting at the school gate calling on the ministry of education to intervene and bring sanity back to the school.

Placard holding parents accuse the deputy head and a school teacher of being behind satanism at the school, a development which they allege has seen several pupils mysteriously collapsing within the school premises.

“Pupils just collapse when they enter the school premises. Snakes are seen but when you want to kill them, they disappear,” alleged one parent whose daughter is in Grade 5.

The parents are also accusing the school administration of corruption calling on the resignation or transfer of the deputy head and the teacher.

Efforts to get a comment from the school administration were futile by the time of writing.

Below are pictures of the placard holding parents.

MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Member Arrested For Plotting To Remove Mnangagwa

Own Correspondent| MDC Alliance Youth Assembly member Panashe Chaya has been arrested for ” plotting to remove” Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa from power.

Mr Mnangagwa rose to power after toppling his long time boss Robert Mugabe via ” Operation Restore Legacy.”

Chaya was arrested in Zimunya area, Manicaland days after entering the country from Canada.

Police and Zanu PF agents accused him of plotting to remove Emmerson Mnangagwa from power through working with foreign agents.

He was interrogated by known Zanu PF agents while detained in police cells.

“Chaya, a member of the MDC Alliance Youth Assembly was arrested and detained for allegedly plotting to remove Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa from power. We condemn the harassment of our Youth Assembly member.
Being a member of the opposition is not a crime,” said the MDC Alliance in a brief statement.

Political observers say the persecution of Chaya indicates that Zanu PF regime has not changed at all.

“We are witnessing the persecution of perceived government opposition under the so called new dispensation.

The regime is unwilling to reform. Chaya was simply exercising his freedom of belief, thought, opinion and expression,” said one political analyst.

Another political story…

Engelbert Rugeje

By Own Correspondent| Aides to Zanu Pf National Political Commissar Retired Brigadier General Engelbert Rugeje bashed a party supporter during a consultative meeting at Zibwowa in Ward 20, Zaka East for openly accusing their boss of candidate imposition.

Samere “Majavha” Makusha broke protocol and defied Rugeje’s directive not to ask questions when he stood up and accused the Zanu Pf boss of being the chief architect of candidate imposition in their constituency.

Makusha reportedly stood up and told Rugeje to his face that his imposed candidate Ringisai Gumbwanda would be defeated in the forthcoming general elections slated for July 30.

Before Makusha could sit down, five men who were reported to be Rugeje’s aides attacked him, slapping him on the face before dragging him to a nearby anthill where they thoroughly beat him. Makusha claimed that along the way, one of the aides allegedly produced a gun and hit him on the back.

“I stood up and told PC Rugeje that Zanu-PF risks losing Zaka East because the leadership was imposing a candidate who is not popular at the grassroots.

A candidate who is popular was disqualified under unclear circumstances, while the other one’s name was omitted on the ballot paper. As I was speaking, I was surrounded by five men, two in front and one of them slapped me twice on the cheek.

“They dragged me to a place behind an anthill while the other guy kept on hitting me with the butt of the gun. They tried, but in vain, to push me to the ground and some party supporters intervened and rescued me. My leg was injured during the attack,” said Makusha.

Contacted for comment, Rugeje refused to confirm the incident focusing instead on the consultations which he said went on very well.

“I addressed six meetings, they all went well and I never heard or saw anyone being attacked. We told them to support the candidate who won the primary elections,”

However, Zanu Pf supporters in Zaka East accused Rugeje of dictatorial tendencies saying the national commissar wants to apply force and command on the electorate.

They alleged that a lot of party supporters did not vote during primary elections and they wanted a re-run but Rugeje allegedly told them that they should forget and smile, saying Gumbwanda was the candidate for Zaka East.

This caused some disgruntled party members to threaten a ‘bhora musango’, claiming the party was taking them for granted.

“In every election, the leadership imposes candidates on us and this time we are saying enough is enough. If they do not allow us to choose a candidate of our own choice, then we are going to vote for an opposition or independent candidate,” said one disgruntled supporter.

Some people said Talent Chivange was their preferred candidate but was disqualified for his alleged previous links to the G40 faction.

After Chivange was removed from the race, many party supporters turned to Clemence Chiduwa whose name, however, was mysteriously omitted from the ballot paper.

Ncube Still Committed To The MDC Alliance

Good old days Welshman Ncube with Nelson Chamisa at an MDC Alliance rally

By Paul Nyathi|The Welshman Ncube led MDC says that it remains strongly committed to the opposition coalition the MDC Alliance.

The assurance was made on Monday by the party Spokesperson Kurauone Chihwayi following suspicions by some political critics that Professor Welshman Ncube has cut ties with the MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa.

The suspicions came after Ncube has been missing in the MDC Alliance rallies addressed by Chamisa since the sitting of the nomination court ten days ago.

The six Alliance partners to the Chamisa led MDC-T were left extremely disappointed after the MDC-T left out most of their candidates from contesting elections set for July 30. The MDC-T which was in charge of signing nomination papers for the Alliance candidates dumped at the last minute the Alliance agreement and seconded MDC-T candidates.

“The issue of stolen seats is too small to separate us as an alliance,” said Chihwayi.

“We shall remain united and intact as an alliance.”

Chihwayi explained Ncube’s conspicuous absence at the Chamisa rallies claiming that while Chamisa is busy holding rallies in the Northern region, Ncube was leading similar rallies in the Southern Region a claim which ZimEye.com could not immediately verify.

“The MDC president Professor
Welshman Ncube is in charge of most rallies in the Southern part of the country,” said Chihwayi.

He met candidates,NEC and National standing committee members in two parts of the country where he encouraged them to focus on winning the 2018 elections. We will all vote for the Mdc Alliance Presidential candidate Hon Nelson Chanisa,Mdc alliance MP, Mdc Alliance senator and mdc alliance councillors in our areas,” he said.

“Our eyes are on the ball, there is no plan or hope of pulling out of the Mdc alliance. The Mdc alliance has abundant life and too strong for ZANU PF to destroy,” Chihwayi told ZimEye.com.

Since the start of the MDC Alliance, Ncube has been moving around with Chamisa introducing him at the rallies a function which has since been taken over by MDC-T National Organiser Amos Chibaya. The other Alliance partners have also since stopped appearing at the Alliance rallies.

White City Stadium Closed Off

By Paul Nyathi|State security agents and detectives from the police and the army have completely closed off White City Stadium in Bulawayo to carry out investigations on the bombing incident which took place at the stadium on Saturday.

The City of Bulawayo owned sporting facility was completely shut out immediately after it was evacuated after the bombing taken as an assassination plot on President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Daily News Bulawayo based journalist Jeffrey Muvindisi told weekend media that they failed to get access to the facility to make follow up on the investigations on the aftermath of the incident.

“We failed to get access into the stadium as it has been completely shut out from any access with heavily armed members of the army all around the area,” he said.

Residents of Bulawayo who live around the area told ZimEye.com that they have been observing a huge in and out movement at the stadium of sophisticated vehicles and personnel.

“We are very scared of the developments as highly sophisticated vehicles and people are roaming in and around the stadium including the areas around our residency,” said a Mr Mhlophe from Pelandaba township in the area.

“Though they are not talking to us as they carry out their investigations, the people are completely not friendly and very scary,” he said.

The police have promised to issue a statement on the progress on the investigations soon. An undisclosed reward has been dangled for anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the bombing culprits.

DEAD BODIES: Senior Mnangagwa Official Confirms Deaths At White City.

FILE PICTURE: Believe Gaule standing next to VP Constantino Chiwenga

By Paul Nyathi|A senior Matabeleland North ZANU PF member Believe Gaule has told the media that he saw dead bodies after the bombing at the party rally in Harare on Saturday.

In an interview with the VOA on Saturday evening after the incident, Gaule safely confirmed all the top ZANU PF officials who he saw get injured in the fiasco adding that he saw several dead people lying on the ground after the bombing.

Another source, an unnamed female sent out audios alleging that she saw several dead bodies at White City. SEE THE BELOW PROGRAM.

The former Tsholotsho Senator said that he was very close to the site where the bombing occurred and saw President Emmerson Mnangagwa escape the bombing by a whisker.

“There were indeed casualties,” he said. “I saw dead bodies though I can not confirm exactly how many died, but I heard sources say two people died,” said Gaule.

“The President was very very close to the bombing and escaped by a whisker. I saw senior party officials fall down with injuries and these included Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Chairperson Oppah Muchinguri, Commissar Engelbert Rugeje and Vice President’s Wife Mary Chiwenga,” said Gaule.

“I have never seen anything like that in all my life,” said the veteran freedom fighter insisting on having seeing some dead bodies on the ground.

Initial state media reports also indicated that two people had died in the incident before state security withdrew the detail indicating that no one was killed in the bombing.

Social media was however awash with pictures of unidentified people suspected to be President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s close aides lying nearly motionless on the ground with amputated limps.

Meanwhile, Police and state security have condoned off the stadium as investigations are going on and have refused to give any details on the investigations this far.

Police have offered a huge reward for anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the bombings which the government has declared as acts of terrorism.

“My First Time Kuona Hondo LIVE paZTV…Bhomba Kuti Booom Ndakatarisa I’m No Longer a Born Free I’m Now A War Vet,”

By Farai D Hove| “It was my 1st time kuona hondo LIVE pa tv muZimbabwe…Bhomba kuti booom ndakatarisa I’m no longer a born free ndatova war vet,” wrote Mr Russie Chidakwa.

Chidakwa was writing on the bomb explosion attack which the state media has claimed was an assassination attempt on president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The total number of the injured has since reached 49.

The attack happened on Saturday afternoon just after the president had finished his speech and he was leaving the premises at White City stadium in Bulawayo.

The injured who were still struggling in hospital Monday morning include Environment Minister Oppah Muchinguri and Vice President Kembo Mohadi.

A state media columnist has since attempted at analysing various persons of interest who he said could have an agenda to hurt the president, and he has fingered former President Robert Mugabe is the most likely possibility.

Columnist and state media critic, Reason Wafawarova wrote saying, “Robert Mugabe and Wife: Very bitter enemies of Mnangagwa. Badly want him and ZANU-PF to fail and demise. The two were reportedly in Singapore and the time, but they do not have to be anywhere in particular for such an act to be carried out on their behalf.

Do the two have capacity? They still have significant links to the security sector, and they do have capacity to cause harm, if they chose to try.

4. G40 as led by Jonathan Moyo and Patrick Zhuwao. These two would die to have Mnangagwa dead. They wish him a tonne of grenades on his head. But they appear to be mere wishful thinkers that spend their bitterness on line. Hard to believe they could execute such an attack.

5. Saviour Kasukuwere and Brigadier Mutinhiri. These two have capacity given their security background. But it is hard to believe they have any intention to fight the other side with force. They know the outcome and repercussions very well, and they wouldn’t dare.

6. Inside Job: It is hard to believe one would dare a stage managed grenade explosion from such close proximity. That would be very close to suicide bombing, and we do not have such courageous people this side of the world. Maybe in North Africa”

By Own Correspondent| Spokesperson of the breakaway faction of the National Patriotic Front (NPF), Jelousy Mawarire has courted controversy after saying God’s plan is to destroy President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Vice President Constantino Chiwenga for rebelling against former president Robert Mugabe and staging the November 17 coup.

Commenting on yesterday’s White City Stadium explosion which Zanu Pf has claimed was targeting President Mnangagwa and the party’s top leadership, Mawarire said just like Korah and Dathan who rebelled against Moses, President Mnangagwa and VP Chiwenga had rebelled against former president Robert Mugabe and yesterday’s explosion was God’s response to their rebellious actions against the former leader..

In a tweet, Mawarire warned people to stay away from the tents where President Mnangagwa and VP Chiwenga will be sitting in future to avoid being caught up in crossfire.

Said Mawarire in a tweet:

Mawarire likened the former President Robert Mugabe to Moses and said God was about to “destroy the two (Mnangagwa and Chiwenga) and their sympathisers for rebelling against Moses (Mugabe).

Mawarire justified his “warning” to citizens adding that those who associated with “Korah and Dathan” would not be spared.

He said the blast at White City Stadium was a result of the violence “of the November 17 coup” which saw the resignation of Mugabe and ascendancy of Mnangagwa to the presidency.

However, citizens reacted differently to Mawarire’s tweet with some alleging that he was behind the attack which left at least 48 people injured 3 of them seriously.

SPAGHETTI ROADS NEEDED: Mvuma Bus Accident Latest Death Toll

By A Correspondent| ZimEye brings our valued readers and viewers latest updates on the Mvuma accident involving an Eagle Liner bus and a private vehicle.

The death toll has reached four.

The accident happened near the mining town and the bus was on its way from South Africa travelling towards Harare. Those in the private vehicle all perished, one of our sources told ZimEye.com.

The accident happened at Fairfields.

One of the pictures sent to ZimEye shows the horrific scene from a wide angle. Other images were unpublishable due to their explicit and disturbing nature.

The sad accident scene

Following the ZimEye breaking news Sunday morning, the state media has since reported its own version stating as follows:

The dead, including the driver, were all in the private car which was travelling towards Masvingo from Harare.

National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident, which occurred at the 211 km peg along Harare-Masvingo road around 10AM yesterday.

“I can confirm that an accident occurred around 10 am involving a cross border bus and a private car. All the occupants of the car died on the spot while the injured people from the bus were ferried to hospital,” he said.

Chief Supt Nyathi said they were still to ascertain the number of the injured passengers from the bus.

He said names of the deceased persons were being withheld as their next of kin were yet to be contacted.

Chief Supt Nyathi said preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the private car lost control of the vehicle resulting in him encroaching onto the bus’ lane.

“For now the details are still sketchy, but l understand that the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle and he encroached on the other lane leading to a head on collision. The private car was trapped under the bus and the fire brigade crew had to be called in to remove the car from under the bus. For now we are not sure how many people were injured since the investigations are not yet completed,” he said.
Eagle Liner officials refused to comment when contacted yesterday.

Chamisa Humiliates Chigumba Over Smuggling Khupe

MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa LIVE in Kadoma yesterday exposed the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission chairperson Priscilla Chigumba over her moves to smuggle in Thokozani Khupe as a presidential candidate in order to give ZANU PF a favourable advantage.

In an electric delivery, Chamisa said,

“If you try to stop me you will not succeed. So I say to the Electoral Commission we will not accept. You Chigumba let me tell you you must listen to the people of Zimbabwe the children of this nation want fairness. The first thing she did was the registering of Thokozani Khupe against the law. That was wrong.
“So we know it very well that ZEC is working against us, and we haven’t started. But this time I tell you you will not bite.”

He is not mature at all; what does George Charamba do?

Song On Mnangagwa Bombing Released, When Was It Composed?

By Paul Nyathi| In a surprising move, ZANU PF has already launched a song condemning the attempted assassination of President Emmerson Mnangagwa hardly twenty four hours after the incident.

https://www.soundcloud.com/zimbabwe-2018/junta-bomb-song/

Questions keep arising around the assassination attempt with critics indicating that the incident may have been a publicity stunt by the ruling party.

Below is the link to the song which ZANU PF is marketing heavily around the country.

Satanic Attack On Mnangagwa, Says Khaya Moyo

Zanu-PF secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo has described the bonding attack at White City Stadium as satanic.

He, quoted by the state media, said the attack would not prevent the ruling party from continuing with its people centred programmes to achieve peace, stability and improve the lives of citizens.

Khaya Moyo was also repeatedly labelled, comrade, comrade in the below state media piece:

“The Zanu-PF party is deeply perturbed and condemns in the strongest possible terms the atrocious attack which occurred at the White City Stadium in Bulawayo on 23 June,” said Moyo.

“Whilst these primitive, satanic and heinous acts of terror are being subjected to the highest measure of the law, the revolutionary party Zanu-PF remains unflinching and resolute towards achieving the goal of peace and above all else, the goal of uplifting the people’s livelihoods.”

He bemoaned “innocent revolutionaries” who were injured in the blast, which he said appeared to have been targeted at President Mnangagwa and other senior party leaders.

It is sad, Cde Khaya Moyo said, that the incident occurred at a time when the country had achieved the most peaceful moments in its history ushered in by President Mnangagwa steered new dispensation.
He called on Zimbabweans to tackle the evil act with peace and build on the love that has been flowing since the new dispensation took over on November 21 last year.

Cde Khaya Moyo said it was imperative that peace continues, as prescribed by the President, right through to the harmonised elections on July 30 and beyond.

“The party further calls upon all its membership and Zimbabweans in general, to confront evil with peace, remain calm and allow the law to take its delicate course. As we head for the harmonised elections set for July 30, we should all be bound as a nation, by the President’s clarion call towards peaceful, free, fair and credible elections,” he said, adding that he wished the injured a speedy recovery.

National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba yesterday said police were working flat out to solve the mystery of the blast.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is therefore appealing for more information to aid the ongoing enquiries.

“A substantial reward is being offered and anyone with information should contact CID (Criminal Investigations Department) Bulawayo on (0292) 71568, Bulawayo Central Police (0292) 72515 or CID headquarters on (0242) 703631, or the national complaints desk on (0242) 709134 or whatsApp number 0712 800 197,” she said.
Alternatively, the national police spokesperson said information can be forwarded to the nearest police station.

Snr Asst Comm Charamba, on behalf of police and other security forces, assured the nation that comprehensive investigations are in progress at the crime scene at White City Stadium in Bulawayo. She said expert teams were on the ground conducting investigations.
Snr Asst Comm Charamba said 49 people had been recorded as injured as of yesterday morning.

“They are receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, Mpilo (Central) Hospital and United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH). However, we expect the number to rise as some victims may come forward later,” she said.

Snr Asst Comm Charamba appealed to the media to give police space to investigate the matter.

“We are aware of your role of informing the public with regards to this case and certainly, updates will be provided without affecting the status of the investigation,” she said.

At a Press Conference at the party’s provincial headquarters in Bulawayo, the province’s chairperson Professor Callistus Ndlovu said “the barbaric attempts” on President Mnangagwa and other senior officials’ lives were carried out by forces of negation.

He said the province condemned continued attempts by opposition forces to turn Bulawayo into a launch pad for all manner of reactionary politics.

“The province boldly declares total and unwavering support for the great son of the soil Ngwena and all he stands for. The attempt on his life emboldens true party cadres to stand with him and vote for him resoundingly come July 30,” said Prof Ndlovu.

The provincial chairperson said the people of Bulawayo were angry about events that transpired at White City Stadium as they painted a false picture that they did not love President Mnangagwa.

He said the huge attendance at the rally showed the true love that people in Bulawayo have for President Mnangagwa and attributed the blast to “forces that want to tarnish the image of Bulawayo.”

Zanu-PF Youth League Bulawayo provincial chairperson Khumbulani Mpofu yesterday also condemned the blast in a statement.

He said the attempt to assassinate President Mnangagwa was a cowardly act which should be condemned by all peace loving Zimbabweans.

Mpofu said the bomb blast injured innocent comrades who had attended the rally which attracted thousands of Bulawayo residents.

The Horror – How I Survived Bomb Explosion While Escorting VP Mohadi

Vice President Kembo Mohadi’s bodyguard has told of the horrific moments he survived the bomb explosion incident while escorting the VP at Bulawayo’s White City stadium on Saturday.

Zanu-PF party supporters and collegues yesterday visited some of the injured in the White City blast who were admited at Mpilo Central hospital in Bulawayo. In this picture Mr Cuthbert Makondo chats with Zanu-PF officials.

Mr Cuthbert Makondo (39), Vice-President Kembo’s aide, being one of the 49 people injured in the blast and was quoted in the below state Media narration of the gruelling events:

He gave a frightening picture of how he survived the attack while escorting his boss off the stage.

“My attention was on escorting VP (Kembo) Mohadi off the stage soon after the President’s address. I then heard a deafening sound and the next thing, I was on the ground bleeding profusely. I tried in vain to stop the bleeding,” he told the state owned Chronicle.

Mr Makondo said he forced himself up despite the excruciating pain and staggered towards a waiting ambulance while clutching his wounded shoulder.

“I lumbered through and got to where there was an ambulance and the emergency guys came in and assisted me into the vehicle,” he said.

Mr Makondo sustained a fracture on his right shoulder and deep wound.

Ms Chipo Five, a Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) cameraperson said she was busy capturing the events at the rally when she heard the explosion.

“Suddenly I found myself on the ground. I tried to stand up. That is when I realised that I could not breathe properly. I gasped for air. I struggled to breathe and on arrival at the hospital I was taken to a room where I was put on oxygen. I am feeling better now,” she said

President Mnangagwa’s aide, Mr Austin Jimu said before the explosion he heard a sound but could not tell where it came from.

Mpilo Central Hospital clinical director, Dr Solwayo Ngwenya said out of the 29 casualties they received, four of them were in a critical condition.

“We received a total of 29 victims of the White City incident of which 16 were admitted to the hospital and some of them were very critical and they still remain critical. One person had to undergo an extensive surgery and it took us several hours to save his life,” he said.

Dr Ngwenya said of the four people who underwent emergency surgery on Saturday night, three of them were critical and were in the Intensive Care Unit.(ICU)

He said some of the victims complained of smoke inhalation while others had life threatening injuries.

“The others are recuperating in the general wards and there is still a lot of work to be done, some of them sustained serious injuries on their limbs and they will require surgical operations. I would like to wish the victims a speedy recovery and we will continue to do our best,” he said.

Zanu-PF Bulawayo provincial secretary for finance, Mlungisi Moyo said the party was footing the victims’ medical bills.

“We visited our comrades at the hospitals where they are admitted to check their conditions and most of them are in a stable condition. As the finance department we are paying the medical bills since the incident happened in our province. We have victims who require assistance in the form of drugs and other forms of medication and the party has chipped in,” he said.

Katsande Hails Billiat Move To Kaizer Chiefs

Khama Billiat

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has said Amakhosi lacked a player of Khama Billiat’s quality before the 27-year-old winger completed his move from Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.

Billiat turned down a $450 000/year from Egyptian giants Zamalek and signed a three-year contract with the Soweto giants.

In an interview with The Herald, Katsande said Khama still had a chance to join European leagues.

“It’s a massive addition to us. We wanted someone who can have an impact,” said Katsande.

“His European chances are not yet over. He can still go after helping us win the league. Chiefs won’t hold on to players who want to go overseas,’’ Katsande said.

Billiat will also play alongside another Zimbabwean Teenage Hadebe who joined Chiefs in July last year.

Ramaphosa Condemns Attack On Mnangagwa

By Paul Nyathi|South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who also chairs the Southern African Development Community (SADC) has condemned the bomb blast which left at least 41 people injured in Zimbabwe, saying that the bloc will evaluate the incident and “take appropriate steps”.

The explosion rocked the White City Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday where President Emmerson Mnangagwa was addressing thousands of his supporters.

Mnangagwa managed to escape unhurt.

According to a statement issued by the Department of International relations and Co-operation, Ramaphosa said that acts of violence and criminality had no place in the democratic process of any sovereign state within the SADC region.

He said that it was vital that the political and security situation in Zimbabwe remained stable in the run-up to the general elections to be held on 30 July 2018.

Ramaphosa said that SADC will evaluate the incident and take appropriate steps.

Govt To Provide Security For Presidential Candidates Following Bomb Explosion

By Terrence Mawawa| The Government of Zimbabwe may provide security for Presidential
candidates following a bomb explosion at a Zanu PF Rally yesterday.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson
George Charamba has said that the government is
considering taking over the security of all 23
presidential candidates ahead of the July 30
elections.

Speaking to Business Times, Charamba said:

“While initially, we were looking at between eight and ten casualties; now l am told that the figure has risen to forty-two…It has to be a broad-based
approach to security – which encompasses everyone in the political fray so that everyone is secure because once you have any death to any of the twenty-three contestants, it has a bearing on the entire rating of the electoral process.

So, l see government taking a very broad view including encompassing the security of opposition people so that we make sure that we leave no chance to such negative elements.”

Mnangagwa Overwhelmed By Messages Of Sympathy.

By Paul Nyathi|President Emmerson Mnangagwa says that he is overwhelmed with message of sympathy from Zimbabweans around the country following assassination attempts on him at the end of a rally in Bulawayo on Saturday.

‘Stop Going To Zanu PF Rallies’

Terrence Mawawa

Fiery Zanu PF critic Antony Taruvinga has implored ordinary Zimbabweans to stop going to Zanu PF rallies with immediate effect following the bomb explosion yesterday.

Taruvinga said “Ordinary people should avoid going to Zanu PF
rallies of death.

You get trapped in their fake
assassination plots as warring factions try to
outdo each other.
Zanu PF represents death.

We will pray for the ordinary people who got injured in the
bomb blast.”

Chamisa Will Be “Marked Out Of The Game” Like Lionel Messi- Zanu PF

The ruling party Zanu PF has sensationally claimed that MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa will lose the July 30 Plebiscite despite his popularity.

In a message posted on VOICE OF BIKITA, a social media political platform yesterday, the ruling party declared Chamisa would be “marked out of the game” like Lionel Messi of Argentina.

“Chamisa and MDC Alliance will be humbled by ED
and ZANU PF come 30 July 2018 like the what happened to Lionel Messi
Messi Russia, ZANU PF pfeeeee,” read part of the statement.

Mnangagwa Assassination Questioned. Was It A Stunt?

By Paul Nyathi| A ZimEye.com reader has analysed the attempted suicide on President Emmerson Mnangagwa which has left a lot of people puzzled.

The country is awash with beliefs that the incident was a publicity stunt by the ruling party ahead of the elections set for end of next month.

After a real assassination attempt the following happens:

1. The president goes to a safe house and his location is not made known. In this case, the president is said to have gone to state House and then goes to visit the injured in a public hospital. In a real assassination attempt you don’t know if the threat is still there so you don’t come into public space.

2. You secure the perimeter for evidence and also just in case there are more explosives hidden. In the video, you see soldiers with AK47s attending to injured people. No attempt is made to check under the stage just in case there are more bombs. Also people freely leave instead of being barred and processed. Also people are freely taking videos near the epicentre of the blast long after the Vips have been taken out yet its supposed to be a sealed and investigative area.

3. The speed with which an interview with HE was done. Yes one could say it was to assure the nation that he is alive but it is the content if the interview that is more important.

4. The security personnel run away from the blast but none is seen positioning themselves with guns in hand to form a body sheild around the VIP area or at least around the exit used by HE.

5. A real assassination would have put a really powerful explosive and blasted the entire stage. In one sweep the entire leadership would have been wiped out. Why wait to do a weak attempt on the stairs.

6. State media would ordinarily report with caution eg blast at Presidents rally to avoid heightening tension and speculation. However in this case it rushed to report that this was an assassination attempt.

We don’t condone violence but this incident has too many weak points to be convincing.

Mutsvangwa Claims G-40 Malcontents Are Desperate To Discredit New Dispensation

By Terrence Mawawa| Special advisor to the President Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa has once again fired random allegations this time claiming that G-40 elements are peddling falsehoods in a desperate bid to discredit the new Government.

Mutsvangwa declared that the detractors’ antics would not materialise.

He was responding to an old video which shows him shooting out of a SAPES Trust discussion forum, after MDC MP Priscilla Misihairabwi had challenged him.

The video was uploaded by the London based lawyer, Lloyd Msipa.

Mutsvangwa claimed Msipa is a G40 member.

But contacted for comment, Msipa said “this has nothing to do with the New Dispensation, this is all to do with a politician who is still playing the big man politics in a New Dispensation that requires Servant Leadership.

“Mutsvangwa appears intolerant to criticism and divergent views especially when challenged on his conduct which is unbecoming of a Presidential advisor. We cannot appear to be singing from an old hymnbook. The President himself is in record saying Mutsvangwa always shoots from the hip, and that character is unbecoming of a New Dispensation.”

Below was Mutsvangwa’s attack: “Where and when was that debate held? That’s archive material from ages ago…well before November 2017.The video clip depicts what happened during the by-gone Mugabe era.

“Jonathan Moyo acolytes are re- cycling old clips to tarnish the current election campaign. Paid agents with alien interests are really in desperation.

“That debate was held before the New Dispensation.

“Lloyd Msipa has just jettisoned personal integrity and intellectual honesty to bigotry and callous hatred.

“The worst is to create headlines from archival
videos. I do not even recall the last time I was at the wayward SAPES.”

Deputy Finance Minister Terrence Mukupe’s Financial Woes Mount

By Own Correspondent| Deputy Finance minister Terrence Mukupe continues to swim in debt amid revelations that a local school recently took him to court over $29 948 fees arrears for his two minor children.

The school, joins the long list of institutions which have in the past dragged the minister to court over debts.

The school, which could not be named to protect the minister’s minor children, filed its summons against Mukupe on June 18, claiming the minister owed the school fees arrears dating back to August 2017.

Claimed the school in its declaration under case number HC5614/18:

“Defendant (Mukupe) is the parents and natural guardian of two minor children (names withheld). As per the educational services offered to the defendant’s children, plaintiff (name withheld) charged tuition and levy for the same.

The customer ledger for the defendant shows that the defendant owes the plaintiff a total of $29 948 for the services rendered to the defendant’s children. The period for the amount above is August 2017 to April 2018. The above amount is still owing and accruing interest. Despite demand, defendant has failed, neglected, denied and/or delayed to pay the capital debt in question,” the school’s lawyers, Musoni Masasire Law Chambers, said.

However, Mukupe is yet to respond to the litigation.

On Wednesday, a Harare magistrate ordered Mukupe to return a mobile phone handset, Samsung S7 Edge, which the deputy minister  allegedly grabbed from NewsDay journalist Blessed Mhlanga’s wife Florence following an altercation which occurred during a live radio programme at ZiFm studios in Harare early this month.

Magistrate Richard Ramaboea ruled in favour of the provisional order prepared by the journalist’s lawyer Chris Mhike.

Just recently, Trust Holdings’ banking subsidiary, Trust Bank Corporation (Ltd), petitioned the High Court seeking Mukupe’s incarceration over a five-year old $32 593 debt.

Mukupe, who is Zanu PF’s Harare East aspiring Member of Parliament, had obtained a loan from the financial institution.

Sometime last month, a Chinese-owned construction company also approached the court seeking an order to compel Mukupe to pay $28 000 following a botched building agreement signed between the parties in February this year.

In April this year, a local seed company, Seed Co Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, also petitioned the High Court seeking Mukupe’s incarceration following his failure to pay $15 000 for seeds supplied to him in December 2013.-Newsday.

“Govt May Provide Security For All 23 Presidential Candidates”: George Charamba

By Own Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba has revealed that government is considering taking over the security of all aspiring 23 presidential candidates ahead of the July 30 elections.

Speaking to Business Times, Charamba said government was considering providing security to all the presidential candidates as a way of preventing any death to any of the twenty three contestants.

Said Charamba:

“While initially, we were looking at between eight and ten casualties; now l am told that the figure has risen to forty-two…It has to be a broad-based approach to security which encompasses everyone in the political fray so that everyone is secure because once you have any death to any of the twenty-three contestants, it has a bearing on the entire rating of the electoral process.

So, l see government taking a very broad view including encompassing the security of opposition people so that we make sure that we leave no chance to such negative elements.”

Charamba’s statements follows an explosion which took place in Bulawayo yesterday at White City Stadium, where President Mnangagwa was holding a political rally.

Media reports indicate that 42 people were injured some of whom include Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Zanu Pf Chairperson Oppah Muchinguri and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mabel Chinomona and other government officials including Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and his wife Mary who have since been discharged.

“I Am Used to These (Bombs, etc) Attempts,” Boasted ED – You Have A Thick Skin, Povo Are Ones Dying Like Flies

indepth...Wilbert Mukori

indepth…Wilbert Mukori

By Wilbert Mukori| “President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who survived a blast at a ruling Zanu-PF party rally on Saturday, suggested he was the target of the attack which left one of his vice-presidents wounded,” reported AFP.

“I am used to these attempts,” Mnangagwa said in his first comments on the explosion in the country’s second city of Bulawayo. He said an object “exploded a few inches away from me – but it is not my time”.

President Mnangagwa’s reaction proves once again that he is a seasoned thug blundering from pillar to post with no clue where he is going, much less where he is taking the nation.

President Mnangagwa is failing to appreciate that the last 38 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule have destroyed the country’s democratic institutions such as the Police, Army, ZEC, etc. hence the reason the country has completely failed to hold free and fair elections, maintain law and order, etc. Zimbabwe is now a jungle in which the only law that counts is survival of the meanest. The rich and powerful ruling elite have ridden roughshod over the ordinary people denying them their freedoms, human rights, hopes and dreams.

Amongst themselves, the rich and powerful are fighting each other like wild cats. President Mnangagwa has himself finally acknowledged that Zanu PF has been rigging elections making peaceful democratic change impossible. Indeed, last November’s military coup, which the coup plotters insisted was a “military assisted transition”, was proof there were no peaceful means to resolve leadership disputes within Zanu PF let alone at national level.

So, by stubbornly refusing to implement the democratic reforms every agreed at the onset of the 2008 GNU as necessary for free, fair and credible elections President Mnangagwa has confirmed that in post-coup Zimbabwe survival of the meanest is still the only law that rules the roost. This year’s elections are being blatantly rigged just as has happened in the past.

With the door to free and fair elections still bricked shut, those behind the Saturday bombing have as much cause to seek a “military assisted transition” as last November’s coup plotter! Zimbabwe is still a pariah state complete with the rigged elections, use of violence as the only means of achieving political change.

“I am used to these attempts!” That is all very well for you and your fellow Zanu PF thugs, you have developed thick skins and are used to all this chaos, corruption, vote rigging, violence, ice cream poisoning, military coups, bombs, etc., etc. The ordinary

Zimbabweans out do not have a thick skin and they are the ones who are paying dearly for the consequences of Zimbabwe being a pariah and lawless nation.

It is the four decades of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption by this Zanu PF dictatorship that is the root cause of the country’s economic meltdown. Unemployment has soared to dizzying heights of 90%, ¾ of our people now live on US$1.00 a day, etc. This has resulted in heart-breaking human suffering and unnecessary deaths. Mr President, this tragic human suffering and loss of life cannot be allowed to continue for another day.

Mr President, your “Zimbabwe is open for business!” carrion call has failed to attract the flood of foreign investors because no investor in his/her right mind would want to do business in a country that is so volatile and unstable the regime change is only possible through military coup, street protest or some such violent means. Until we resolve our political problems, economic recovery will remain a pipe dream.

Zimbabwe must implement the democratic reforms agreed at the onset of the 2008 GNU, the only sure way to restore the power, authority and independence of the state institutions like the Police and ZEC and restore the rule of law.

President Mnangagwa you promised to hold free, fair and credible elections when you took over from Mugabe last November, you had the opportunity to implement the reforms but choice to do nothing; now you keep your promise. If these elections are not free, fair and credible, signs are they are not, then you and your junta regime must step aside to allow the appointment of an interim administration that will implement the reforms.

Zimbabwe had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the GNU; sadly, the opportunity was wasted by Morgan Tsvangirai and his corrupt and incompetent MDC friends. Last November’s coup and now this 23 June 2018 bomb blast in Bulawayo must serve as a warning to us all that the chaos and lawlessness in Zimbabwe cannot be allowed to continue. Both these two events could have easily claimed many more injured and killed or, worse still, triggered an all-out civil war.

The international election observers, especially SADC, must act to help end this Zimbabwe political crisis by declaring these flawed and illegal elections null and void. This will force the country to revisit and, this time, make sure the reforms agreed in 2008 are implemented. – zsdemocrats.blogspot.co.uk

LIVE – Spotting The Criminal Behind The Bombing | ANALYSIS: LIVE

NATIONAL, BUSINESS, BREAKING

LIVE VIDEO:

Columnist and state media critic, Reason Wafawarova appears on ZimEye presenting his own theory of who is likely responsible for the Saturday bombing incident.

By Reason Wafawarova| The world of Investigations: Persons of Interest (POIs) Before Screening:

1. MDC Alliance: Though propelled by a violent youth vanguard, the outfit lacks the sophistication and capacity to dare try use a bomb, or even get near one.

2. Mai Mujuru Gandanga Rine Chivindi: Though a bitter opponent if not enemy of Mnangagwa she would not benefit in any way (except revenge) in the demise of Mnangaga. There is virtually no prospect of her taking over the leadership of the country.

3. Robert Mugabe and Wife: Very bitter enemies of Mnangagwa.

Maybe in North Africa.

What’s The Procedure After An Assassination Attempt?

By Paul Nyathi|In the aftermath of the attempted assassination of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabweans are beginning to doubt the authenticity of the dramatic incident.

Prominent social media critic Ndaba Nhuku has raised questions on why Mnangagwa appears calm and undisturbed about the plot against his life.

Writes Ndaba:

The question on most people’s lips?

“Guys tell me, what’s the correct security procedure when an attempt is made on a President’s life?”

A) Drive around town and visit hospitals

B) Secure the President until you have made a full assessment of the nature of the threat, and if it’s a continuing one or it’s contained?”

Chamisa Condemns Mnangagwa Bombing

Object seen flying into Mnangagwa’s way from the left

MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa yesterday led the condemnation of the blast at a rally addressed by President Emmerson Mnangwa where nine people, including government officials, were injured yesterday.

Chamisa said violence had no place in Zimbabwean politics as people took to social media to condemn the alleged attempt on the president’s life.

“Terrible events at White City stadium,” he tweeted. “Our prayers go out to the injured and we hope no lives have be lost.

“Violence must have no place in our politics. May God bless and protect the country we all love.”

Former Education minister David Coltart also condemned the blast, saying he was grateful the president survived.

“I am deeply shocked to hear about the explosion at President Mnangagwa’s rally in Bulawayo and grateful he survived,” he tweeted.

“This must be condemned by all patriotic Zimbabweans. We must bring the cycle of violence to an end. My condolences are extended to all those affected by this.”

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society (ZRCS) said it had joined other emergency response units that rendered first aid to the injured before ferrying them to hospitals.

“Our first aid action teams who had been deployed to provide first aid coverage as the norm for such big gatherings responded immediately, providing first aid and transferring the wounded to nearby hospitals,” said Maxwell Phiri, the ZRCS secretary general.

He praised the commitment of Red Cross personnel who assisted people injured during the incident, saluting their dedication and bravery, which he described as inspiring.

US Embassy Condemns Violence On President Mnangagwa’s Rally

By Own Correspondent| The US Embassy in Harare has condemned the attack at a Zanu Pf rally which happened yesterday at White City Stadium in Bulawayo which left 45 people injured 6 of them seriously.

Watch the video below which shows how it happened.

The US embassy in Harare said political violence in any form is unacceptable and retrogressive as it derails positive progress required to move the country forward.

Said the embassy in a tweet:

Mangoma Rejects ZEC’s Ballot Paper

By Own Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s ballot paper was on Friday rejected by opposition Coalition of Democrats Party, CODE, leader, Elton Mangoma.

The ballot paper features ZANU PF leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa (1st) at the top right corner. MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa is positioned (2nd) at the top left corner, while Mangoma is at number 10 down the line on the left column.

The positioning of Mnangagwa makes it visually easiest for voters to locate the ZANU PF leader, Mangoma alleges.

Mangoma told ZimEye, “we reject this sample. It’s meant to put ZANU on top. There should be 12 names on one side and 11 on the other….”

“My Usual Enemies Attempted To Kill Me”: President Mnangagwa

By Own Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hinted that the culprits who have tried to kill him before have a hand in today’s explosion which injured at least 45 people 6 of them seriously.

President Mnangagwa ruled out the possibility of the attack being orchestrated by the people from Bulawayo adding that “his normal enemies” are responsible for the bomb explosion at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.

During the White City stadium violence, a bomb like object was clearly seen flying from the left side (head level) towards president Emmerson Mnangagwa. ZimEye can reveal with impeccable graphic evidence that the object seen flying from the left, descended past a soldier as well as a man dressed in white trousers, straight onto the area near President Mnangagwa’s feet and within a split second the explosion occurred. The below analysis as is seen in the sampled picture (BELOW VIDEO) was carried out by ZimEye LIVE on Saturday afternoon.

Said President Mnangagwa: “I do not think the evil people are part of Bulawayo. The evil people must come from elsewhere. It is not Bulawayo. The people of Bulawayo were so happy to see me.

People outside Bulawayo did this I can assure you. These are my normal enemies. The attempts have been so many. It’s not the first attempt on my life. I have had six attempts on my life. My office was broken into. I have had cyanide put into my office. They have tried to poison me I survived. All these things I have been surviving.

But this will have no bearing on elections. This behaviour belongs to defeatists. I am happy that the campaign throughout the country is peaceful.”

LATEST – Jonathan Moyo Drops Own Version Story Of The Bomb Attack

By David Moyo| The exiled blogging Prof Jonathan Moyo has dropped a version of his own on the bomb attack on President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Prof Moyo’s interpretation was that this is a sad running consequence of the November coup.

Meanwhile, below was Prof Moyo’s tweet:

MDC Has No Links To Mnangagwa Bombing; Ncube.

By Paul Nyathi|The opposition MDC has nothing to do with the assassination attempt on President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Bulawayo on Saturday.

In an analysis, media business mogul Trevor Ncube completely ruled out any possibilities of the MDC having a hand on the saga.

Mnangagwa Was Warned Of Assassination 2 Days Ago | UPDATED

By Paul Nyathi|A social media activist by the name Monomutapa warned President Emmerson Mnangagwa two days prior his assassination attempt.

The anonymous activist Monomutapa warned Mnangagwa in a Twitter message directed at Mnangagwa to which he did not respond. The big question is, who is the anonymus Monomutapa? Where did he get the information?

The incident, which had the horrific effect of a bomb explosion, saw many injured and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s wife hospitalised. Vice President Kembo Mohadi was also hospitalised.

An investigation carried on ZimEye.com within the hour, showed with clear, impeccable evidence that a bomb look alike object flew into Mnangagwa’s way as he descended the stage area. (See below video – LAST 35 MINUTES ).
