Mujuru Wins Property Wrangle Lawsuit

By A Correspondent- The High Court has confirmed the provisional order granted on February 28 last year for stay of execution of a judgment allowing Tony Sarpo to attach former Vice-President Joice Mujuru’s property over a US$226 000 debt.

Mujuru and her company, Ruzirun Investments, had in September 2019 approached the High Court seeking an order stopping Sabrina and Tony Sarpo from attaching her property.
The former Vice-President owes over US$226 000 to the Sarpos through their company Peppy Motors (Pvt) Ltd, which is demanding the money at the interbank rate.
Mujuru, in her application for stay of execution, said the company had issued a writ of execution and notice of attachment despite an application for rescission of judgment under HC6283/19. She then made an application for confirmation of the provisional order granted on February 28, 2020.
The relief, which was granted in that provisional order, was for stay of execution of the judgment granted in favour of the couple and their company in case No HC 2954/18 and for an order for the release of any property which might or could have been attached in execution of that judgment.
Mujuru also sought costs on the respondents on the attorney-client scale and the Sarpos had opposed her application.
High Court judge Justice Happias Zhou ruled in her favour.
Justice Zhou said Mujuru’s liabilities, expressed in United States dollar, falls under the ambit of the provisions of the Statutory Instrument.
“It does not matter that the parties continued to express the liabilities in US dollars even after the effective date,” Justice Zhou ruled.
“The deeming effect of the regulations means that the expression of those values must be read in light of the express provisions of the law. The deed of settlement and order by consent did not create any new liabilities but merely pronounced on the existing liabilities of the applicants.
“Any other reading of the law would defeat the very purpose of the law which was meant to convert assets and liabilities which existed at the time of the effective date and were expressed in US dollars to RTGS at the rate of 1;1.”
He said Mujuru’s obligation is to pay the debt in the local currency at the rate of 1:1 to the US dollar.
In 2012, Sabrina and Sarpo, who are in the business of selling farming equipment, obtained a loan from Steward Bank which they used to buy various farming machinery. They sold the equipment to Mujuru’s company and an agreement of sale was entered into on July 25, 2015.
Parties then entered into a deed of settlement on May 25 this year after Statutory Instrument 33 of 2019 had been gazetted and Mujuru paid $76 000 on June 5 this year.
Four days later, the Sarpos requested payment at interbank rate.

Owen Ncube & July Moyo Implicated In Mnangagwa Coup Plot

By Kelvin Kasiwulaya- State Security Minister Owen Mudha Ncube and Local Government Minister July Moyo have been implicated in the Zanu PF Midlands Provincial coup.

Sources within the Zanu PF Midlands provincial structures said Ncube and Moyo had formed a cabal to illegitimately remove the Incumbent Provincial Chairman Mackenzie Ncube and his deputy Ronald Robson Nyathi.

The Moyo – Mudha cabal is said to have recruited footsoldiers in Shurugwi, Gweru and Kwekwe to destabilize the province and cause a commotion.

Sources within Zanu PF’s Midlands provincial leadership said Shurugwi South member of parliament Edmund Mukarakigwa, party’s Shurugwi District Coordinating Committee Chairman Shepherd Mudhara, Shurugwi Assistant District Administrator Tavonga Mufarachisi, and secretary for information and publicity in the Midlands Province Cornelius Mupereri had been recruited by Mudha and Moyo to execute the coup.

The sources further said Ncube and Moyo were masquerading as the custodians of the second republic; they claim that if it was not for them and their strategies, President Emmerson Mnangagwa would have never tested power.

” The Two are fueling factionalism and confusion in the party hence derailing the 2023 5million Votes mantra.

” Party members here in the Midlands Province have sworn to stand with Cde McKenzie Ncube and Cde Ronald Robson Nyathi, and we have ignored what Mudha and July Moyo are telling people,” said one senior Zanu PF official who refused to be named for fear of victimisation by Mudha.

Mudha and Moyo are also bribing state media journalists to tarnish Cde Mackenzie and label him a G40 member.

” Zanu -PF is a democratic party which respects the will of it’s members , so Mudha and Moyo should not come and lie to us telling us that they have been sent by the President, we know our President when it comes to party issues he speaks through the Politi-buro,” said another Zanu PF member.

Wiwa: Fiction Fodder By Street Writer About My Son Job Sikhala Jnr

Job Sikhala...

Job Sikhala...
Job Sikhala

By Hon Job Wiwa Sikhala | I saw a story circulating purportedly written by one named Gilbert Munetsi. The story concerns the arrest of my son Job Sikhala Jnr on purely false and stupid allegations as an attempt to provoke me to react to such assault on my family, an assault that has been taking place for a long time. They are alleging him of having murdered a suspected-thief that was killed by a mob in St. Mary’s around 2am sometime last month.

Job Sikhala Jnr is a law student and one of my most intelligent and obedient children. He is rather a role model to many. He is a quiet guy who can not even kill a fly.

The allegations are purely an attack against my family. The murder happened at a house directly opposite mine. Initially my State enemies wanted the corpse to be dropped at my doorsteps to incriminate me. We didn’t even hear about what happened that led to the death of that person. This murder allegedly happened around 2am when everyone was dead asleep. Those who know my house can attest that it is heavily secured with one of the tallest durawalls and with security on 24hr guard inside; and it’s locked at 7pm until the following morning. The keys to the gate are kept by myself and even my security doesn’t know how they look like because of security reasons and no one is allowed in or out the moment I lock the gate.

No one at my house knew about what happened until the following morning. I was told about the death of the thief that later, that morning. The explanation corroborated by everyone in the neighborhood is that, when the person pounced on my neighbour’s house, my neighbours cried out for help to catch the person. The male jumped into the durawall of my other neighbor where his German Shepherd dogs went for him. When he was crying for assistance, the owner of the house came out and asked the mob gathered whether the person who they were looking for was the one who had climbed the tree on his yard.

The owner of the house the ‘thief’ jumped into, then asked the man to move out of his yard. When he moved out, the mob attacked him severely and dispersed, leaving him for dead.

The following day the story was covered by H-Metro and explained what happened that the ‘thief’ became the victim of a mob attack. Neither of the alleged attackers assaulted this thief. One of the alleged murderers is an Apostle of a Church. He is Apostle Wellen Mupereki. I represented him and his senile, sick sister after they sought my legal services and they were duly admitted to bail. So it is a lie that the Apostle and his sister who were victims of midnight robbery by a dangerous armed thief are on remand. This story is written from the garbage sources.

The Apostle and his sister were only arrested because they were the victims of the robbery and nothing more. The sister is ailing and very sick. She cannot even hold a teaspoon without feeling its weight.

I then wonder how my son was involved. My son always travels with me on a daily basis and does part time office clerical jobs at my Law Chambers for him to learn the tools of the trade. I always go to report every Friday at St. Mary’s in fulfilment of my bail conditions with him on our way to work. I was shocked yesterday that my son was arrested when he arrived at Chitungwiza Magistrates Court for murder. I was at Rotten Row where I was fighting for my freedom against the persecution by the regime when I received the news. I was still fresh from the nonsense of the police arrest of my daughter the previous day for alleged improper wearing of the face mask, the matter they quickly dropped after mass protestation and dropped my daughter at 12am at my gate when witches were even asleep.

The attack on my family is an attempt to break my heart but it won’t work. My wife as reported several times to the police, was followed by unknown trailers. She received several messages threatening her with death and reported such to the police and nothing happened. My children have been threatened with abduction and I made this known to the police, the SA Embassy, the US Embassy, the British Embassy, the Canadian Embassy, the European Union Embassy, human rights organizations and everyone who matters.

As a lawyer I calmed down and said I will allow the law to take its course. No story based on lies should be taken seriously. How would a proper person lie that my son was on the run when he was always there in my company. Is there any police officers who ever came at my house looking for him. What kind of nonsense is this? Some funny characters publish a story without seeking the comment of my son’s lawyers. The so called police sources from St. Mary’s police station know that he is represented by legal practitioners and they could have referred their journalist to the lawyer for a comment. Many lawyers have volunteered to represent him for free and he is being represented by Freddy Michael Masarirevu and Advocate Silvester Hashiti. How idiotic it sounds that some fool says that it was ironic that I represented Apostle Wellen Mupereki and his sister. What’s ironic about representing someone alleged to have committed a crime when it is my duty as a lawyer to do so when given instructions. The story is enemy originated. There are no witnesses to the allegations. I asked the police of witness statements when I was representing the Apostle and they said they are still investigating. Today I am briefed by the lawyers of my son that they asked same and nothing was produced. What kind of a case without witnesses. Will they generate them, when? This is an attack on me and an attempt to provoke me. I am more sophisticated more than all dogs and reptiles in the system put together. They have an illusionary view of myself.

This is nothing. I am not moved. Desperation of the regime to go after my family won’t help them. I am a very difficult person. All their tricks won’t work on me. I will fight to the last drop of my blood.

By A Correspondent- A Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje has dismissed an application by the National Prosecuting Authority for the revocation of Harare West MP Joana Mamombe’s bail.

In his ruling, Mambanje said that Mamombe had valid reasons to default.

Chiefs In Fist-Fight At A Funeral Over Village Control

By A Correspondent- The long-standing feud between Chiefs Council president Chief Fortune Charumbira and newly installed Chief Nemamwa recently escalated at a funeral when representatives from the two chieftaincies nearly exchanged blows over legitimacy issues.

According to TellZim News, the near fist-fight incident occurred during Serina Mangoma’s funeral in Nyoka Village near Chief Charumbira’s homestead last weekend.

The Charumbira clansmen disrupted the funeral programme and threatened to bash the Nemamwa chieftaincy representative Munyaradzi Mureyi who had been asked to give a speech.

The director of ceremonies called Mureyi to give a speech on behalf of Chief Nemamwa since the deceased was from the Nemamwa clan, but this irked the Charumbira clansmen who insisted they did not recognize the Nemamwa chieftainship.

Speaking to TellZim News after the incident, Mureyi said the program had been progressing smoothly until Mureyi was called him to speak on behalf of Chief Nemamwa.

He said that was when Cephas Marashanye who is originally from Nemamwa but is a Charumbira sympathiser threatened to bash him if he spoke. Said Mureyi:

Marashanye stood up and told me not to speak, at first I thought he wanted to speak himself since he is originally from Nemamwa but is a Charumbira sympathiser. I told him to speak instead but he said there was no Chief Nemamwa.

He then came and pushed me around and other people from Chief Charumbira’s side rose and threatened to join in shouting that there was no Nemamwa. I was pushed from around and I think it was a pre planned thing.

I, later on, managed to escape and the Director of ceremonies had to skip the chief’s part. I have since reported the matter to the police.

Chief Charumbira confirmed the incident and said he was not there but saw videos of the clash and said the incident was not a new thing.

He rubbished the resuscitation of Nemamwa chieftainship saying it was a fraud which has no legal basis to support it.

Meanwhile, Masvingo Provincial Development Coordinator (PDC), Jefta Sakupwanya said he was not aware of the incident but said incidents of that nature are common between rival chiefs and revealed that the installation of Chief Nemamwa was imminent.

He said the installation of Nemamwa was stalled by the COVID-19 induced lockdown saying if the situation improves they will sit with the chief’s council and deliberate on the way forward.

Upper – Middle- Class Economy For Shurugwi As Gold Mining Intensifies | OPINION

By Kelvin Kasiwulaya | In support of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s vision to transform Zimbabwe into a upper middle class economy by 2030, Shurugwians have since maximized production in the Gold mining sector.

Shurugwi’ s artisanal gold miners have become the leading gold producers in Zimbabwe, producing close to 38 kilograms of gold per month( Statistics from Shurugwi Small Scale Miners Association).

To complement the mining sector, Shurugwi North Legislator Hon Ronald Robson Nyathi has since commissioned a trust meant for the development of Shurugwi through Gold mining.

In an interview, the Shurugwi North Legislator who also doubles as the Zanu-PF Midlands Province Vice Chairman noted that, more than 4000 jobs have been created in the mining sector and Gold mining has since intensified.

“Through the Shurugwi Development Trust we have created more than 4000 jobs in Shurugwi’s gold mining industry, most of the youth and women are working at Wanderer and Lulu mines.

“The Gold proceeds from our small scale miners goes to Fidelity Printers hence boosting Zimbabwe’s gold reserves and fiscal muscle, ” said Cde Nyathi.

Residents Lament Influx Of S_ex Workers

By A Correspondent- Residents of Tafara, Mabvuku and Caledonia in Harare have expressed concern over an influx of sex workers whom they are accusing of contributing to moral decay and fuelling criminal activities.

The prostitutes have allegedly turned these high-density suburbs into an extensive red-light district.

Women in Action (WA), a women’s group whose major task is to fight prostitution in Caledonia, says most of the sex workers come from as far as Goromonzi and Ruwa in Mashonaland East. Cecilia Mutenga, chairlady of WA said:

In our case, we are having sex workers that are coming from such far-away places as Goromonzi and Ruwa among others.

By dusk, these scantly dressed ladies will be lining our streets, making suggestive gestures to whoever passes by.

These ladies must be driven away since they are bringing with them vices and moral decadence.

Mutenga said her group, which falls under the Caledonia Residents Association Trust (CRAT), wants the buildings in which the sex workers use as their love nests to be destroyed.

Facts About Zimbabwe vs Ethiopia Clash …

Zimbabwe lost 1-0 to Ethiopia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Group G Matchday 2 encounter played in Bahir Dar on Tuesday.

The Warriors conceded late in the game after a continued spell of pressure from the hosts. This led to a handball inside the box, and Aschalew Seyoum scored from a penalty.

Overall, Zdravko Logarusic’s men had a terrible afternoon and survived many attacks from Ethiopia earlier in the game. They played more defensively for the better part of the minutes and rarely went forward, managing just one shot on target in the first half.

The second half saw nothing from their end, with the home team continuing their dominance in ball possession.

The pressure led to several fouls and the Warriors picked four yellow cards in the final quarter of the game.

And just like in their previous game against Bafana Bafana, they struggled in transition and gave away the ball easily.

The result, coupled with Friday goalless draw, sees Zimbabwe dropping to the bottom of Group G after Matchday 2 while Ethiopia moved to third place with three points. South Africa is on top after Monday’s victory over second-placed Ghana.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Man In Soup Over Dagga

By A Correspondent-A Gokwe man has been jailed for an effective 26 months after he was found in possession of 2,875kg of dagga without a permit.

Bigboy Munyanyi (34) was last Saturday arrested following a police stop and search roadblock and was found with the dagga.

Munyanyi was yesterday (Tuesday) hauled before Gokwe provincial magistrate Mr Musaiwona Shotgame charged with possession of dagga without a permit.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to an effective 26 months in jail after 10 months were set-aside on condition of good behaviour.

In passing sentence, Mr Shotgame hailed the police for intercepting the illegal dagga before it could find its way into the community.

He said cases of drug dealing were on the rise in the Midlands province.

“There is need to curtail the source as taking dagga fuels violent behaviour and crimes,” said Mr Shotgame.

Appearing for the State, Ms Getrude Shoko told the court that on September 4, police officers deployed on a stop and search roadblock along Gokwe-Kwekwe highway stopped a black Toyota Wish, registration number AFM2341, and searched the occupants.

Munyanyi was found in possession of dagga, which was in his black satchel wrapped in a plastic paper.

He failed to produce a permit when police asked for it, leading to his arrest.

Goats Torment The Dead

By A Correspondent- The bereaved families gave their late loved ones decent burials, placing flowers and other items on the graves to show their love.

Then they came back later to speak to their ancestors at Petersfield Cemetery in Springs, Ekurhuleni, only to find that the graves had been trampled by goats.

Relatives are even worried that the number tags on the graves may disappear.

Irene Williams said it seemed the owners did not care where the goats grazed.

“Some graves don’t have tombstones because the owners are planning to erect them later.”

Mourner Daniel Ntuthu said it might be a challenge for people later if they could not identify their graves if the tags were gone.

“Some people end up performing rituals and putting tombstones on the wrong graves,” he said.

Edwin Nyathi said this was putting pressure on families who did not have money to erect stones.

Mourners wanted the municipality to do something about the goats as they felt their ancestors were being disrespected.

Daily Sun saw that about 10 graves had been trampled on. Most were new and some had stones.

Goats were believed to be from the nearby Everest squatter camp.

Sangoma Mandla Madolweni said it may happen that people would end up calling the wrong ancestors because of the wrong graves.“These people eventually bring bad luck on themselves because they have engaged the wrong people, and ancestors don’t know.”

Municipality spokesman Zweli Dlamini said when grave tags disappeared, they always had records.

He appealed to animal owners to look after their livestock, and said officials would investigate.

Man Regrets Dating Mamfundisi

By A Correspondent- He had an affair with mamfundisi for a year and five months and it was great.

But things changed when she introduced her husband into their relationship.

The 32-year-old from Wattville in Ekurhuleni now regrets getting involved with the mamfundisi.

He told Daily Sun he met the mamfundisi when she recruited him to join church.

They grew closer and he eventually asked her out.

“We live in the same kasi, so I always saw her around. I only started liking her once I got to know her personality,” he said.

In April, she told him she wanted her husband to be part of their relationship.

“I was shocked. But she told me they have an open relationship and such things happen all the time,” he said.

Although he agreed to the new arrangement, he was surprised to see the pastor walk into the hotel room with his wife. “He could see I was scared, but told me to relax as there’s nothing to be afraid of,” he said.

Things were great, but the couple allegedly started demanding more of the man’s time and also wanted to explore things he wasn’t comfortable with.

“They started to demand more time around June. I told them I had school and a girlfriend, and that this was becoming too much and I needed time,” he said.

But instead of giving him a break, the mamfundisi suggested they draw up a time table.

“They called me in the first week of August and I decided to go because I missed the fun. But in the second week, the pastor started doing weird things to me.

“He’d insert his finger in my butt0cks and I’d move to show I was uncomfortable,” he said.

The man said this happened again and he told them he didn’t like it. That’s when the husband suggested he explores poking him while he does other things to his wife.

“I decided there and then that I was done with this. I told them I was done, but they didn’t take it very well. The wife called and threatened to make my life a living hell. I blocked their calls,” he said.

He said he doesn’t know what to do and believes they won’t stop bothering him.

“I need SunReaders to give me advice as to what to do in this situation,” he said.

The man’s brother (34) said he warned him about the mamfundisi.

“He was too excited to have fun with these people. Now I don’t know how to help him.”

Daily Sun spoke to the mamfundisi (47), who denied threatening the man. But she admitted to being in a poking relationship with him.

“I don’t think I should be explaining my bedroom matters to strangers, but this man has really helped my marriage,” she said.

She said they’ve grown fond of him and that’s why she was frustrated when he told them he was done.

When the SunTeam tried to talk to the pastor (51), he said his wife spoke on his behalf.

Daily Sun’s resident se_xpert Gomie Seabi of the Umjolo & Se_x podcast said about the situation:

“As we always say on the Umjolo & Se_x podcast, se_x is not supposed to be uncomfortable.

“So this is clearly not his cup of tea.

“He should just walk away.”

Common Symptoms Of Hypertension

Key facts

Hypertension ̶ or elevated blood pressure ̶ is a serious medical condition that significantly increases the risks of heart, brain, kidney and other diseases.

An estimated 1.28 billion adults aged 30-79 years worldwide have hypertension, most (two-thirds) living in low- and middle-income countries
An estimated 46% of adults with hypertension are unaware that they have the condition.
Less than half of adults (42%) with hypertension are diagnosed and treated.
Approximately 1 in 5 adults (21%) with hypertension have it under control.

Hypertension is a major cause of premature death worldwide.
One of the global targets for noncommunicable diseases is to reduce the prevalence of hypertension by 33% between 2010 and 2030.
What is hypertension?
Blood pressure is the force exerted by circulating blood against the walls of the body’s arteries, the major blood vessels in the body. Hypertension is when blood pressure is too high.

Blood pressure is written as two numbers. The first (systolic) number represents the pressure in blood vessels when the heart contracts or beats. The second (diastolic) number represents the pressure in the vessels when the heart rests between beats.

Hypertension is diagnosed if, when it is measured on two different days, the systolic blood pressure readings on both days is ≥140 mmHg and/or the diastolic blood pressure readings on both days is ≥90 mmHg.

What are the risk factors for hypertension?
Modifiable risk factors include unhealthy diets (excessive salt consumption, a diet high in saturated fat and trans fats, low intake of fruits and vegetables), physical inactivity, consumption of tobacco and alcohol, and being overweight or obese.

Non-modifiable risk factors include a family history of hypertension, age over 65 years and co-existing diseases such as diabetes or kidney disease.

What are common symptoms of hypertension?

Hypertension is called a “silent killer”. Most people with hypertension are unaware of the problem because it may have no warning signs or symptoms. For this reason, it is essential that blood pressure is measured regularly.

When symptoms do occur, they can include early morning headaches, nosebleeds, irregular heart rhythms, vision changes, and buzzing in the ears. Severe hypertension can cause fatigue, nausea, vomiting, confusion, anxiety, chest pain, and muscle tremors.

The only way to detect hypertension is to have a health professional measure blood pressure. Having blood pressure measured is quick and painless. Although individuals can measure their own blood pressure using automated devices, an evaluation by a health professional is important for assessment of risk and associated conditions.

What are the complications of uncontrolled hypertension?

Among other complications, hypertension can cause serious damage to the heart. Excessive pressure can harden arteries, decreasing the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. This elevated pressure and reduced blood flow can cause:
Chest pain, also called angina.
Heart attack, which occurs when the blood supply to the heart is blocked and heart muscle cells die from lack of oxygen. The longer the blood flow is blocked, the greater the damage to the heart.

Heart failure, which occurs when the heart cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to other vital body organs.
Irregular heart beat which can lead to a sudden death.
Hypertension can also burst or block arteries that supply blood and oxygen to the brain, causing a stroke.

In addition, hypertension can cause kidney damage, leading to kidney failure.
Why is hypertension an important issue in low- and middle-income countries?

The prevalence of hypertension varies across regions and country income groups. The WHO African Region has the highest prevalence of hypertension (27%) while the WHO Region of the Americas has the lowest prevalence of hypertension (18%).

The number of adults with hypertension increased from 594 million in 1975 to 1.13 billion in 2015, with the increase seen largely in low- and middle-income countries. This increase is due mainly to a rise in hypertension risk factors in those populations.

How can the burden of hypertension be reduced?
Reducing hypertension prevents heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage, as well as other health problems.

Prevention
Reducing salt intake (to less than 5g daily).
Eating more fruit and vegetables.

Being physically active on a regular basis.
Avoiding use of tobacco.
Reducing alcohol consumption.
Limiting the intake of foods high in saturated fats.
Eliminating/reducing trans fats in diet.
Management

Reducing and managing stress.
Regularly checking blood pressure.
Treating high blood pressure.
Managing other medical conditions.
What is the WHO response?
The World Health Organization (WHO) is supporting countries to reduce hypertension as a public health problem.

In 2021, the WHO released a new guideline for on the pharmacological treatment of hypertension in adults. The publication provides evidence-based recommendations for the initiation of treatment of hypertension, and recommended intervals for follow-up. The document also includes target blood pressure to be achieved for control, and information on who, in the health-care system, can initiate treatment.

To support governments in strengthening the prevention and control of cardiovascular disease, WHO and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) launched the Global Hearts Initiative in September 2016, which includes the HEARTS technical package.

The six modules of the HEARTS technical package (Healthy-lifestyle counselling, Evidence-based treatment protocols, Access to essential medicines and technology, Risk-based management, Team-based care, and Systems for monitoring) provide a strategic approach to improve cardiovascular health in countries across the world.

In September 2017, WHO began a partnership with Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of Vital Strategies, to support national governments to implement the Global Hearts Initiative.

Other partners contributing to the Global Hearts Initiative are: the CDC Foundation, the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the U.S. CDC. Since implementation of the programme in 2017 in 18 low- and middle-income countries, 3 million people have been put on protocol-based hypertension treatment through person-centred models of care. These programmes demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of standardized hypertension control programmes.

Lawyers Intervenes To Protect Villagers At Risk Of Losing Land To Miner

By A Correspondent| Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has intervened to protect several villagers in Kaseke Village in Uzumba in Mashonaland East province, who are at the risk of losing their homesteads, farming fields and grazing land to Heijin Mining Company.

ZLHR lawyer Tinashe Chinopfukutwa on 2 September 2021 wrote a letter to the Mining Commissioner for Mashonaland East province and to the Environmental Management Agency seeking explanations regarding the existence of a prospecting licence authorising the miner to peg the village so as to conduct mining activities.

Chinopfukutwa said in the event that a prospecting licence was granted to Heijin Mining Company, then the pegging of Kaseke Village is unlawful as a holder of a prospecting licence shall not exercise any of the rights conferred in terms of the prospecting licence on communal land without the consent of the occupier.

The human rights lawyer stated that the pegging of Kaseke Village without consultation and the consent of the occupiers of the land is unlawful and that in terms of Section 31(1)(h) of the Mines and Minerals Act, no holder of a prospecting licence can proceed to peg communal land occupied as a village without the written consent of the Rural District Council of the area concerned.

Chinopfukutwa has asked if any Environmental Impact Assessment was conducted in relation to the mining project and if so to be furnished with a copy of the certificate approving the prospecting and pegging of Kaseke Village by Heijin Mining Company.

Kenyan Man Journeys 350km To Meet Own President Over Stadium

Joseph Chebil

By A Correspondent- A Kenya former chief has walked 350km (217 miles) to Kenya’s capital Nairobi, to appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to finish building work on a stadium in his home region that stalled years ago.

According to BBC Africa, Joseph Chebii began his walk on 26 August at his home in Baringo county, in western Kenya.

The Standard newspaper quotes the 61-year-old as saying he wore out two pairs of shoes during his journey.

He’s also quoted as saying police officers stationed in roadblocks along the highway offered him lunches and encouragement.

Mr Chebii braved sunny weather in Baringo and Nakuru counties to cold weather in Limuru and Nairobi.

He says he is optimistic the president will agree to meet him, though he hasn’t secured an appointment.

World Vision Partners Other NGOs For Community Projects

By A Correspondent- The World Vision in Zimbabwe has partnered  various NGOs and government departments to spear head various community centered projects in Zimbabwe under a 2,7 million euro (US$3,2 million) fund.

In a statement, the NGO announced that it has join hands with the  Christian, child-focused humanitarian aid agency, while also   collaborating with Welthungerhilfe,

The  project is meant to strengthen community-led actions on education and disaster preparedness in five districts across Zimbabwe.

The districts are namely Chipinge, Chimanimani, Buhera, Tsholotsho and Nkayi which  have over the years been affected by a combination of disasters, including droughts, floods, cyclones, and hailstorms that affect access to education services and erode disaster preparedness capacities.

The statement added that the project which began its operations on the 1st of June, 2021 will run for two years.

The project which has been titled SCALE-DP’s Programme manager, Dr Tapiwa Muzerengi said the interventions will use existing community structures to ensure the sustainability and participation of vulnerable groups.

“Among others, the programme will enhance disaster preparedness of 250 schools in five districts of operations. This programme is unique because it is inclusive, for example it will incorporate disaster preparedness and response for people with disabilities. This will include the procurement of assistive devices for children with varying disabilities. For example, braille material for the visually impaired, retro-fitting such as building ramps to ensure that those with physical impairments can access classrooms for learning. Disaster proofing for schools will also be part of the activities under the programme,” said Dr Muzerengi.

“Hold On. You Are Contradicting Yourself Mr Muleya”

By Wilbert Mukori- Common sense is the ability to change one’s position on a subject matter when the overwhelming evidence before you support change.

My grandparents believed the world was flat, for example; their known world did not go much beyond the distant horizon and behind and beyond that was the precipitous abyss. I do know that behind the horizon is another horizon and another and if one travelled long enough they will return where they started – proof the world is a very large spherical ball!

Those who lack common sense will even acknowledge the overwhelming evidence before them and still maintain their erroneous position; hoping against hope the overwhelming evidence is wrong.

Zimbabwe is in this economic and political mess because the nation has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections for the last 41 years, Zanu PF has rigged the elections, leaving the nation stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical regime. And as long as Zanu PF remains in power the country will remain a pariah state ruled by corrupt, vote rigging and murderous thugs with no hope of any meaningful political change and economic recovery.

After 41 years of rigged elections the nation is has two choices:

  1. either participate in the 2023 elections under the same conditions as in the past knowing fully well that Zanu PF was blatantly rigging the elections and that participating will give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. Hoping against hope that the opposition’s winning in rigged elections (wire) strategies finally deliver long awaited change. The opposition, for their part, are banking on the economic hardships forcing the populous to “defend their vote” by staging street protests and force regime change.
  1. or admit the present political system, the Zanu PF dictatorship, has amassed so much dictatorial powers it will never ever deliver free, fair and credible elections. There is overwhelming evidence Zanu PF is blatantly rigging the 2023 elections and Chamisa and company’s wire strategies are just a farce. The common sense position is to implement the democratic reforms and thus guarantee free, fair and credible elections.

What is disappointing is that a number of political analysts have acknowledged the futility of participating in flawed and illegal elections and yet still want the nation to participate in elections with no reform. This is like someone circumventing the globe and still maintain the world is flat!

“Ballot fraud remains a major weapon of rigging. Dictators believe it is not the voting that really counts, but who counts the vote. This has particularly been true in Zimbabwe where elections are stolen through ballot fraud, over and above the skewing of the whole electoral process and playing field, tipping it in favour of the ruling party and use of coercive tactics and terror.” Argued Dumisani Muleya in The News Hawks in favour of option b) above, only to contradict himself in the next breath.

“The outcome of elections is as dependent on the pre-voting processes as it is on the act of voting. An election is a process, not an event,” he claimed.

“Youths have now become the largest voting bloc in many African countries, including Zimbabwe. Zambia demonstrated that. During the 2018 elections, youths were about 44% of registered voters in Zimbabwe, but in 2023 they will surge above 50%, making them an electoral trump card.

“Civil society should encourage citizens, particularly the youth, to register and to vote. They should also design public information campaigns aimed at youth to explain the registration process and how citizens can check their entries onto the voters’ roll and monitor the voter registration process to assess its accuracy and inclusiveness.”

The 2008 elections remain the watershed elections in Zimbabwe’s history in that both Mr Muleya’s thesis were tested to the full.

The March 2008 election took place at the time when Zimbabwe’s economy had all but totally collapsed; hyperinflation was to so to the nauseating peak of 500 billion percent, earnings and savings lost their value, children had 23 school-days that year, etc. It was not only the youths who were motivated to vote that year, everyone was desperate for change. It is no exaggeration that if the electorate had the choice of Mugabe or donkey that year, they would have voted for the donkey.

Morgan Tsvangirai garnered 73% of the popular vote according to Robert Mugabe’s own Freudian slip. The Zanu PF vote rigging juggernaut was activated to give a graphic illustration of “it is not the voting that really counts, but who counts the vote” and worse.

Mnangagwa, by his own admission, ordered ZEC not to announce the March 2008 election results. The results were finally announce after six weeks of recounting 5 million vote and Tsvangirai’s vote count was whittling down to 47%, enough to force a run off.

The run-off was all about punishing the people of Zimbabwe for having rejected Zanu PF and Robert Mugabe in the March vote. The party deployed the war veterans and the party’s youth militia, the green bombers, to destroy property, harass, beat and rape. The heavy-duty stuff of abducting and killing was left to the deployed Army, Police, CIO and Prison Service personal.

“What was achieved by the bullet will not be undone by the ballot!” thundered Robert Mugabe!

Mugabe garnered 84% of the votes in the run-off; his landslide victory was never ever in doubt! Never!

Both SADC and AU leaders, for the first time ever, refused to endorse Zanu PF’s electoral victory because of the blatant cheating and wanton violence. SADC leaders forced Robert Mugabe to agree to the implementation of a raft of democratic reforms designed to end Zanu PF’s dictatorial powers and end the curse of rigged elections. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends were the GNU partners tasked to implement the reforms.

Of course, Mr Dumisani Muleya, one of the country’s well known and respected journalists knows what the GNU was about, that not even one meaningful reform was implemented in five years of the GNU because Tsvangirai and company sold-out big time.

“International actors should provide assistance to ensure free, fair and credible elections. Whoever wins under such conditions has got the people’s genuine mandate and their express will to govern until the next elections,” concluded Mr Muleya.

Of course, SADC, EU and any international actors of substance will ignore the plea because they have provided all the assistance and advice Zimbabwe need for free, fair and credible elections – they have all advised we implement the democratic reforms and we have repeatedly ignored the advice!

Zimbabwe’s main opposition, MDC, are driving the narrative that Zimbabwe does not need to implement any democratic reforms and pushing option a) above because to do otherwise they will be forced to admit they wasted the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the GNU.

The opposition’s WIRE strategies feeble excuses to justify the folly of participating in flawed and illegal election. Implement the reforms and make sure elections are free, fair and credible and you do not need these WIRE strategies.

Zanu PF benefited from MDC’s failure to implement the reforms during the GNU and in that the party emerged out of the GNU will all its dictatorial powers intact. By participating in flawed and illegal elections the nation is giving vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

“Next elections may be won or lost on voter registration!” If getting 73% of the votes was not good enough to win in 2008, what is there to suggest it will be good enough in 2023? Without implementing the reforms Zanu PF is set to rig the 2023 elections and by participating we will give the regime legitimacy.

What Zimbabwe needs to get out of the political and economic mess the nation is stuck in is people with the common sense to admit the need to implement democratic reforms and end Zanu PF carte blanche powers to rig elections instead of the foolishness of trying to win rigged elections!

Long Wait For Determination Of Challenge Of ZUPCO Monopoly

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has for the past six months been waiting for the Registrar of the High Court to set down for hearing an application challenging the state-run Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) monopoly and some restrictions on informal traders as directed by the Supreme Court.

On 12 March 2021, Supreme Court Judges faulted Justice Mary Zimba-Dube for misdirecting herself when she dismissed an application challenging the ZUPCO monopoly and some restrictions on informal traders and ordered that the matter be remitted to the High Court to be heard by a different Judge.

In their application, which was filed in 2020, Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Association (ZCIEA), Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) and Constantine Chaza, represented by Tendai Biti of ZLHR, argued that the imposition of national lockdown regulations and the ban on informal sector trading imposed by government which
included a ban on private commuter omnibuses was discriminatory and unconstitutional.

They also argued that the ban created an unlawful monopoly for ZUPCO.

ZCIEA, PAZ and Chaza want some registered transport operators and other operators to be allowed to ferry passengers on their licenced routes subject to compliance with relevant national lockdown conditions such as social distancing, temperature testing and the use
of hand sanitisers.

ZICEA, PAZ and Chaza also argued that the national lockdown regulations violated their members’’ constitutional rights to freedom of profession, trade or occupation enshrined in section 64 of the Constitution.

In her judgment issued on 26 May 2020, Justice Zimba-Dube dismissed ZCIEA, PAZ and Chaza’s application after ruling that there was no discrimination against private commuter omnibus as they could operate under ZUPCO and that opening the informal sector could fuel the spread of coronavirus.

However, for six months, ZCIEA, PAZ and Chaza have been keenly waiting for the Registrar of the High Court to set down the matter for hearing and determination before a different Judge as directed by the Supreme Court on 12 March 2021.

7 UK Deportees Released From Quarantine, Reunite With Own Families

By A Correspondent- The second batch of seven Zimbabwean nationals who were deported from the United Kingdom last month have reunited with their families and relatives after completing a mandatory 10-day quarantine.

The deportees were quarantined at the Zimbabwe Institute of Public Administration and Management (ZIPAM) in Darwendale.

ZIPAM acting director-general Edgar Makande on Tuesday said the Government took care of the deportees and helped integrate them back into communities.

Makande said:

Yes, the seven have all re-integrated with their families and there were no complaints from them while staying here.

They were offered free meals, while also enjoying basics like free wi-fi connectivity and television during their stay at ZIPAM at taxpayers’ expense.

While residents returning to Zimbabwe voluntarily are required to undergo mandatory quarantine, they have to do so at their own expense.

The British government deports foreign nationals, including Zimbabweans, who would have been released from detention after serving jail terms for various offences.

Most among both the first and second batch of returnees arrived in England between 1999 and 2007 and were being deported since they had been convicted of serious offences.

These crimes do not count against them on their return as the offences were not committed in Zimbabwe

Katsande Assaulter Hauled To Court

By A Correspondent- Willard Katsande’s chase for justice is on with the man accused of assaulting him during a road rage incident having now been brought to book.

According to the City Press the accused, Jacobus Koekemoer, briefly appeared at the Randburg Magistrates Court last week on charges of common assault and malicious damage to property.

He was then granted R1000 bail with the case postponed to September 29 for further investigation.

The veteran midfielder was involved in the ugly road rage incident on the day two weeks ago leaving his luxury motor vehicle damaged.

Katsande was travelling home after making his debut for new club Sekhukhune United against Chippa United at Makhulong Stadium when he found himself involved in the fracas in Roodepoort with the suspect allegedly damaging his German sedan.

The 35-year-old immediately opened a case of common assault and malicious to property at the Honeydew Police Station.

According to the police report, the white male driving a Ford EcoSport assaulted Katsande on the corner of Hendrick Potgieter and Peter Road and broke the driver’s window and mirror causing damage estimated at R50 000.

The scene was left with blood stains just like the car.

Despite the incident, Katsande was still able to feature for Sekhukhune in their next game which was a 2-0 away win at Maritzburg coming on just after half-time.

Katsande recently joined Sekhukhune after spending a decade at Kaizer Chiefs where he earned legendary status.

“Review Cyber Security And Data Protection Bill”: MISA Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent- The Media Institute of Southern Africa (Misa) Zimbabwe has appealed to President Emmerson Mnangagwa to defer signing the Cyber Security and Data Protection Bill into law following its passage in the House of Assembly and Senate saying the Bill still requires further scrutiny.

In a letter to Mnangagwa, Misa Zimbabwe chairperson Golden Maunganidze said the Bill had been subjected to significant changes which varied from the gazetted Bill that was subjected to public hearings.

This comes after the Bill was recommitted in the Senate to address errors noted for correction and amendments before it is signed into law.

Maunganidze said:

“In light of the amendments that were effected, there is a need for an extensive review of the Bill with further input from the general public as well.

“A law that addresses issues relating to cyber security, data protection and data privacy, affects every citizen, hence the need for a multi-stakeholder approach in its framing.”

He said this development was of national significance and interest and deserved the President’s due attention and consideration.

“Your Excellency, a strong cyber security and data protection framework is critical for the exercise and enjoyment of human rights, trade, increased investments and Zimbabwe’s socio-economic development,” Maunganidze said.

“Learners Hungry For Education”: Says Gvt While Confirming Exams Will Go Ahead

GOVERNMENT has said the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) November examinations will go ahead as scheduled with a possibility of a spillover to 2022 despite the COVID-19-induced disruptions to the education calendar.

Addressing journalists during a post-Cabinet briefing, Primary and Secondary Education secretary Tumisang Thabela said not much learning time had been lost to warrant cancelling of public examinations.

“The long and short of it is we have consulted our system, especially the heads of our schools who run our shop floor level,” Thabela said.

“They have convinced us that given all the efforts we have made, it is possible to run examinations starting in 2021. We might spill over for some of the examinations to beginning of 2022.”

Teachers have been calling for postponement of examinations, claiming pupils were not prepared because they had limited learning time.

Apart from COVID-19-induced school closures, most teachers refused to report for duty when schools reopened in March for the first term, demanding better salaries and working conditions.

Schools introduced online lessons, but the new learning model disadvantaged most pupils, especially those from rural areas who have no internet connectivity. But government yesterday insisted not much time was lost because the current term would be long enough to cover the basics.

“This year, we have had two sessions, the first session was a whole term, which is about 60 days, this second session has 80 days instead of 60 days, which is your ordinary term, plus a third of that ordinary term.

“If you use simple arithmetic, the children have lost about two thirds of a term in terms of physical presence at school,” Thabela said.

“We believe our learners will be ready, by the way, Zimbabwean learners are hungry for education and the Zimbabwean teacher is always amazing when it comes to trying to get their child ready for their future,” she said.

Meanwhile, government said that a total of 14 schoolchildren and 19 teachers had tested positive to COVID-19 since schools reopened last week.

Cops Bash Zim Driver For Refusing To Pay R2k Bribe

By A Correspondent- South African Police have beaten up a Zimbabwean cross-border bus driver for refusing to pay a R2000 bribe.

The incident happened last Thursday in the Hammanskraal area along the N1 highway.

watch the video below….

Mr Raison Mufuka, an employee of Devine Star buses was handcuffed on the bus’ trailer and allegedly assaulted by three police officers.

After which, he was also detained along with four crew members at Themba Police Station in the same area.

The five were later released from police custody after the prosecution in that area refused to prosecute them for lack of evidence.

The assault incident was captured on video by other motorists and has already gone viral on social media.

Mr Mufuka said he got some injuries on his mouth and both hands and was experiencing chest pains due to the beating.

“We were travelling towards Johannesburg when we were intercepted by traffic police soon after the Hammanskraal toll gate, just before Pretoria along the N1 highway at around 8am on August 26,” he said.

“The bus had only five people including myself and other crew members. The police officers detained us for four hours at the road block.

“They accused me of violating traffic rules and demanded a bribe of R2000, which I told them I did not have. The three police officers then threatened to impound the bus,” said Mr Mufuka.

He said the police officers ordered him to drive to the police station, but along the way they disappeared and he stopped along the road as he was not sure of the directions.
He said they returned and handcuffed him between the trailer and the bus and took turns to assault him.

The distraught driver said the bus crew was later taken to Themba Police Station where they were detained for four days before being taken to court.

“At the police station, they falsely claimed that I had assaulted one of them and that I was carrying border jumpers while failing to comply with traffic regulations. The court decline to prosecute and we were released.”

He said he was not aware that the whole incident was being recorded by other motorists who shared it on social media.

“I am currently nursing the injuries and the assault on me was unwarranted. As a result, I cannot go to work,” he said.

Zimbabwe’s Consul General to Johannesburg, Mrs Melody Chaurura said they were still following up on the matter with relevant authorities to establish the facts.

“It will only be possible for us to comment after consultations with the relevant authorities,” she said.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo was not readily available to comment on the matter.

Police confirmed the accident which occurred two kilometres from the scene where a Limousine Lincoln hit a tree after bursting its rear tyre and killing four people near Kenmaur recently.

On Monday, Coleman Donga of Sikhobokhobo village in Nkayi was crossing the road at Kenmaur when he was hit by a truck being driven by Neza Nkululeko Khabo aged 61 from Shabula village in Lupane.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival to St Luke’s Hospital, Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda said.

“On 6 September 2021 at around 7:35am, a fatal road accident occurred at the 140km peg along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road. Khabo was driving a blue Hino ranger truck towards Bulawayo with four passengers on board and on approaching the 140km peg, he hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road,” said Insp Banda.

He said Donga fractured a leg and was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A report was made to the police who attended the scene and impounded the vehicle, whose windscreen was shattered and the front damaged.

Govt Fires Warning Shots At Absconding Teachers

By A Correspondent- The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education said teachers who have not reported for duty will face disciplinary action following revelations that by Friday last week, slightly over 32 per cent of teachers were not at work.

In an interview with State media, Primary and Secondary Education Deputy Minister Edgar Moyo said when schools reopened some teachers did not report for duty.

Moyo said the ministry will continue to monitor the attendance of teachers and relevant disciplinary action will be taken against those who do not report for work. He said:

The majority of our teachers had gone to work on Monday but what is concerning is that some had not reported for duty while learners were there.

Last Friday an average of 67,4 per cent of teachers were at work and the difference could have been that some teachers responsible for non-examination classes were waiting for their pupils to open on Monday.

We have rules and regulations guiding our operations and if teachers abscond, they will face disciplinary action.

He said if teachers have grievances, they must wait for them to be addressed by relevant authorities rather than making learners sacrificial lambs.

Said Moyo:

Parents are paying school fees and we want them to get value for their money and this is possible if their children are learning.

Teachers shouldn’t violate the rights of learners in order to compensate for theirs. They must be patient and their problems will be solved.

Moyo also warned schools against turning back learners for non-payment of school fees.

He said some parents had lodged complainants that children were being turned back from school.

He said school authorities had to engage parents over the payment of fees without inconveniencing learners.

Cleveland Dam Catchment Wetland Area Under Siege

By A Correspondent| Construction activities commenced last Friday in the wetland area behind Donny brook Motor Racing which is part of the Cleveland Dam Catchment.

The land developer has started putting in place roads chewing up the eastern part of the wetland.

This happens at a time when the government have come up with a national policy to protect wetlands which are key in water provision.

Furthermore, the Cleveland Dam area including part of it’s Catchment Wetland Area is protected by lnternational law under the Ramsar Convention which Zimbabwe is a signatory.

The wetland area is a vital water source for Cleveland Dam which ultimately flows into lake Chivero a primary water source for Harare water supply.

Last time towards 2018 election, the former Deputy Minister of Finance Mr Terrence Mukupe was stopped by EMA when he wanted to construct buildings in the wetland.

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) recently published Wetlands Master Plan which should guide spatial planning for local authorities.

CHRA has engaged the City of Harare Planning Department seeking information on the approval of the construction activities in the wetland.

Relief For Mujuru As Property Escapes The Hammer

“Even Our Opponents Do Not Attack Us Like Zanu Pf”: UPND Spokesperson

Nelson Chamisa andHakainde Hichilema

By A Correspondent- Zambia’s ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has accused Zanu PF of launching cyber-attacks against its leadership, which it says could sour relations between the two neighbours.

UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema scored a stunning landslide victory over incumbent Edgar Lungu in Zambia’s presidential election last month, the margin of his victory surprising pundits, but also showing the level of disillusionment with the performance of the former leader.

But UPND is seen as close to Zimbabwe’s opposition, the MDC Alliance after inviting its leaders, Nelson Chamisa and Tendai Biti and other opposition figures in the region to Hichilema’s inauguration.

At the inauguration, President Emmerson Mnangagwa had the indignity of having to share the platform with the opposition that the country’s courts have ruled to be illegitimate. His spokesperson, George Charamba recently attacked Hichilema as a “sellout” and it appears the ill-feeling between the two administrations is persisting.

UPND spokesperson Joseph Kalimbwe said Hichilema and his party were being targeted by Zanu PF cyber-attacks which he said were “scandalous”.

“We are in Zambia talking about the need to tackle corruption in our country but across the border Zanu PF supporters think the message is directed at them and so they start to attack and demonise us,” Kalimbwe tweeted.

“Not even our own political opponents attack us like they do. It’s scandalous!.”

Kalimbwe told NewsDay yesterday that they were being attacked on social media platforms by some Zanu PF members who were criticising Hichilema’s personality and policies.

He said the Zanu PF party has “always been uneasy” over UNDP’s close relations with Chamisa.

“We have always been victims of several online attacks on the party and the President. Not so long after the presidential spokesperson (Charamba) labelled President Hichilema a sellout, several other members of the ruling Zanu PF party attacked us online with regards to our policies which have nothing to do with Zimbabwean governance.

“Such actions do not guarantee amicable diplomatic ties. UPND as a ruling party does not concern itself with the affairs of its neighbour, Zimbabwe, but on the contrary, Zanu PF members have been very much concerned with how President Hichilema runs Zambia.”

Zanu PF acting political commissar Patrick Chinamasa said he was not aware of any case where members of the ruling party had attacked the Zambian government.

He said if indeed there were attacks against UPND, from Zimbabwe, it was not from Zanu PF.

“I can’t comment on the alleged attacks against the Zambian party because I am not aware of such an incident,” Chinamasa said.

“I am yet to check on the alleged attacks. As Zanu PF, we remain friendly with the Zambian government. Zanu PF has never been a hostile party.

“Zimbabwe and Zambia have a long history of cordial relations, therefore; I would say it is the work of detractors who go online in the name of Zanu PF just to spoil the good relationship between us and the UPND. Those people would go online in the name of Zanu PF just to tarnish our image.”

Zanu PF had been enjoying good relationships with Lungu, who reportedly banned MDC Alliance activities in his country

Dzinemunenzva Applies To Join POLAD

Egypt Dzinemunenzva

By A Correspondent- Forces of the Liberation Organisation of African National Party (FLOANP) leader Egypt Tazarurirwa Tsangadzaoma Dzinemunhenzva has criticised MDC Alliance president Nelson Chamisa’s decision to stay away from the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) saying political disputes cannot be solved without dialogue.

POLAD was launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2019 to engage with political parties that contested in the 2018 presidential elections.

However, Chamisa, among other prominent politicians who contested the 2018 presidential poll, has refused to be part of POLAD, questioning Mnangagwa’s sincerity.

Chamisa insists that real talks can only be between himself and Mnangagwa and not between any other party.

But speaking in an interview with OpenParly, Dzinemunhenzva said solutions to problems can only come from sitting down and talking about them.

He said:

“The issue of Chamisa about POLAD, I don’t agree with it. If you have issues that you want to raise let’s meet and air your complaints.

“You put forward your points the other person puts theirs and then find common ground. After that you then with the issues where you don’t agree that is what is supposed to happen.

“If you have complaints or issues with someone, sit down with them and complain face to face until you reach an agreement. This is because if you don’t talk to them then nothing will be solved.

“For example, in a court people would argue out their issues seeking the truth of the matter and eventually, a solution will be found.”

Dzinemunhenzva also highlighted that his political party has also applied to join POLAD but is yet to receive a response.

Mnangagwa pampered POLAD principals with Isuzu D-Max twin cab vehicles a few weeks ago.

“Borrow From Loan Sharks To Report For Duty”: Gvt Tells Teachers

By A Correspondent- The government has told school teachers that they have no excuse for failing to turn up for work and asked the financially constrained workers to borrow money to go be able to their work stations.

This comes after teachers recently indicated that they have no money for bus fare to travel to their workplaces after the government ordered schools to reopen at short notice.

Some teachers say they have had to turn to loan sharks to borrow bus fares at exorbitant interest rates while at the same time their calls for a living wage have fallen on deaf ears.

Primary and Secondary Education Permanent Secretary Tumisang Thabela told journalists at Tuesday’s Post Cabinet media briefing that almost 30 per cent of teachers are yet to report for duty.

She said:

From our daily check of attendance for the previous week, the number of teachers that were coming as compared to those that we were expecting was over 70 per cent.

There are one or two provinces that are generally depressed so those who are supposed not to have enough money or whatever, we are hoping by end of this week they would have borrowed enough money to go back to work.

Teachers have also argued that they are failing to send their own children to school as they earn as little as $20 000 (almost US$133 on the black market).

Teachers unions have called for industrial action due to the government’s continued resistance to addressing their grievances.

Meanwhile, Thabela told reporters that she knew nothing of teachers’ grievances as that was not under her jurisdiction but that of Public Service Minister Paul Mavima.

She said:

The employment rests with the Public Service Ministry, we have been consulting them on when and how to open schools, we are their supervisors, we use them but in terms of engagement, I would not be able to comment on that.

Controversial Land Developer Wants To Turn Warren Hills Golf Club Into Residential Houses

By Jane Mlambo| A controversial joint venture company between City of Harare and discredited businessman Kenneth Raydon Sharpe, Sunshine Development Private Limited has approached the High Court to evict current leaseholders Warren Hills Golf Club as it seeks convert the recreational facility into residential houses, documents in ZimEye’s possession can reveal.

According to a High Court application filed by Sunshine Developments which is 70 percent controlled by Sharpe, City of Harare who had a lease with Warren Hills Golf Club are no-longer the owners of the 80 hectare recreational facility as it was transferred to the joint venture company.

“Plaintiff (Sunshine Development Pvt Ltd) is the owner of Stand Number 8113 Warren Park township of Warren Park, Harare by virtue of Deed of Transfer 1027483/2008 issued to it by the Registrar of Deeds on the 26th of September 2008 where defendant (Warren Hills Golf Club) operates its golf club.

“Defendant has been in occupation of the premises by virtue of a lease agreement granted to it by City of Harare, the previous owner of the land which lease agreement expired on the 30th of April 2019,” reads part of the application.

The current lease holders of Warren Hills Golf Club recently renewed their lease agreement by a further 20 years meaning they have ownership of the premises until 30 April 2039.

But a letter from Chinawa Law Chambers to Warren Hills Golf Club, the renewed lease agreement is null and void as it was issued in error.

Their previous lease agreement was entered into on the 17th of May 1971.

City of Harare also wrote to Warren Hills golf club lease, City of Harare on 22 July 2020 informing them of the cancellation of the lease saying it was issued in error as the land no longer belonged to them.

“I refer to the above mentioned issue and regret to advise that the recent lease renewal in respect of stand 8113 Warren Park Township to yourselves was issued in error as the land in question no longer belongs to the City

“The land has since been transferred to Sunshine Development (Pvt) Ltd under deed of transfer No. 7483/2008 hence City of Harare hereby withdraws the lease since the land is now privately owned and the municipality no longer has any jurisdiction over it,” said City of Harare.

In its defence, Warren Hills Golf Club opened a can of worms saying the issue was being investigated by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission with preliminary results pointing to unprocedural and irregular disposal of the reserved land to Sharpe’s company.

“Investigations by the Ministry of Local Government still in progress have to date established unprocedural and grossly irregular disposal of reserved land to plaintiff without informing the sitting lessee change of use, full council approval and ministerial consent

“By reason of investigations aforesaid, the national agency investigating corruption (ZACC) was and is seized with the matter and is currently unravelling the corrupt and unprocedural activities that created the title deed relied on by plaintiff with a view to regularity in the matter,” said Warren Hills Golf Club.

Warren Hillls Golf Club has also dismissed desperate attempts by Sunshine Developments to divert rentals due to City of Harare to them.

“In the premises plaintiff is not lawful and legitimate owner of the land occupied and used by defendant and has no legal right to demand rent from defendant or its removal from the premises,” added Warren Hills Golf Club.

Pressure Group Embarks On MyRight2Vote Campaign In The UK

By A Correspondent- United Kingdom based Zimbabwean pressure group, MyRight2Vote, led by the dethroned Ntabazinduna Chief Felix Ndiweni has started registering Zimbabweans in the diaspora in an effort to pressure government to allow them to vote in the 2023 general elections.

Various pressure groups have been pushing for Zimbabweans in the diaspora to be allowed to vote, but President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government has refused, recently setting the removal of sanctions by the West as a pre-condition for diasporans to exercise their voting rights.

In a statement over the weekend, MyRight2Vote noted that the diaspora vote should have been completely implemented and ring-fenced by the government 41 years ago when the country became independent.

“Such a state of affairs cannot remain indefinitely. To this end, MyRight2Vote has begun the registration process of the whole Zimbabwean diaspora for immediate electronic voting, from wherever they are in the world, when ready,” the statement read.

MyRight2Vote will independently facilitate this electoral process for the Zimbabwean diaspora, when the next elections are called. MyRight2Vote is not a political party and does not get involved in partisan politics. MyRight2Vote is independent and is registered in the United Kingdom and is not working with the Zimbabwean Election Commission (Zec) or the current government.”

The statement added: “Zanu and Zapu during the war of independence pledged that they stood for unconditional universal suffrage, one-man, one-vote. MyRight2Vote stands by this pledge and is implementing it to the diaspora and within Zimbabwe.”

The group said it also registers Zimbabweans in Zimbabwe who find it difficult to register with Zec and their concern was that the Zimbabwean diaspora community has been excluded from polls for 41 years. According to the laws of the country, only Zec was given the mandate to register voters and manage the voters’ roll.

But the rights group said it would push for the exclusion of Zimbabwe from the United Nations if it continues to deny voting rights to its citizens in the diaspora.

Zimbabwe, which had only 4,8 million people voting in the 2018 general elections, is estimated to have over five million of its citizens in the diaspora who were denied the right to vote. The pressure group accused Mnangagwa’s government of blocking its citizens from voting, fearing that those in the diaspora would account to 50% of the country’s registered voters, and would not vote for it.

July Moyo And Owen Mudha Secretly Plotting To Oust President Mnangagwa?

Owen Ncube

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | Political tension has risen in the Midlands Province as ZANU PF structures are gearing towards restructuring of all organs of the party up the provincial echelon.

Reliable information emanating from the Province states that a meeting was held at Minister July Moyo’s Kwekwe Farm where some senior members of the party were present.

The aim of the meeting was to strategise on how to come out with a provincial structure which will be favourable to July Moyo who has made himself the godfather of the province.

Among the attendees at July Moyo’s meeting were Edson Chiherenge Chakanyuka a Politburo member, Owen Mudha NCUBE Minister of State Security,Nugget Manyiwa the Provincial Secretary for Midlands, Edmond Mukaratirwa member of parliament for Shurugwi South, Cornelius Mupereri the Secretary for information and Publicity in Midlands Province and Vongaishe Mupereri the brother of Cornelius among others.

The meeting resolved that an instruction be made to all political structures to vote for Owen Mudha Ncube as the Provincial Chairman to replace Mackenzie Ncube the incumbent and Edison Chiherenge Chakanyuka to deputise him replacing Ronald R Nyathi the current vice Chair.
The strategy is to soil the good name of Mackenzie by labelling him a G40 member being sponsored by his old friend Kasukuwere. They agreed to mislead the structures that the President Cde MNANGAGWA no longer has any confidence in Mackenzie and that he now prefers Owen Mudha Ncube who is said to be a loyal confidante of the President.

Teams have been dispatched to various districts to disseminate this information among various DCCs within the province.
In the same meeting Owen NCUBE pledged to use the CIO details to go into districts to coerce District Chairmen to endorse him and Chiherenge. The CIO details have been promised promotions at ministers discretion. The chairpersons are being told that Mudha and Chiherenge are the preferred candidates of the president.
The teams have hit the ground running with Edmund Mukaratigwa holding a meeting last Sunday which he jointly chaired with the DCC chairman Mudhara who was handpicked by July Moyo in Shurugwi North on Sunday 5 August 2021 where he was propagating their false claims that he had been sent by the President to inform the Shurugwi members to remove Mackenzie and Nyathi and replace them with Mudha and Chiherenge Chakanyuka.

In a development which will rock the party July Moyo is sledged to have complained that they have to rid Midlands of former ZAPU cadres who he said have infested the province. This if true will be very divisive and splitting the party on tribal and ethnic grounds.

The attitude of Minister July Moyo and Mudha NCUBE has set tongues waging.
Many people in Midlands who spoke on the condition of anonymity have said July Moyo has been very divisive. He was hiding in Kwekwe when Mackenzie NCUBE was embarrassed in 2017 for refusing to endorse the firing of Ed from the party. Some have said to put the record straight Mudha was actually named Mudha Mugabe NCUBE.

One resident of Kwekwe asked
“ can any one tell the nation of any time during Mugabe’s reign when if ever heard July Moyo and Mudha NCUBE openly supported President ED. These two are known of running around looking for false prophets and witch doctors feeding ED with falsehoods.”

Another ZANU PF member in Kwekwe said “This Kwekwe political Mafia are causing a lot of damage to the party and to the president. Instead of ensuring that ZANU PF gets 5 million votes for the President and the legislators they are busy causing divisions in the Province”
One angry resident of Gweru said “ we are tired of hearing July and Mudha telling us that if it was not for them ED would not have set his foot in the State house. We are not fools. Tiri kuvaona hedu and we hope the president is seeing them.”

Many senior ZANU PF members said the party must reign in these Midlands gangsters. They are destroying the party and the president. These bad deeds have gone too far and for a long time without being confronted.
One member said “ there is nothing wrong in anyone exercising his right to vie for any post in the party but bringing the name of the party in disrepute is totally unacceptable. We aught to protect our president and our party. President MNANGAGWA is not a tribalist and tribal sentiments directed to Nyathi and other people is not according to the ideology of ZANU PF.

Contacted for a comment by phone and WhatsApp messaging, Hon. Owen Ncube angrily replied…”write what you want.”

Hon Mukaratigwa did not respond to questions sent him via whatsapp, though a digital signature stated that he had read the messages well before this article was printed.

Mnangagwa Sheds Crocodile Tears Over Mugabe’s Death

By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been condemned for shedding crocodile tears over the death of his long time ally, the former late Robert Mugabe who died two years ago.

Mnangagwa praised the late former President Mugabe a few years after celebrating his ouster in a November 2017 military coup.

Monday marked two years since Mugabe died in a Singapore hospital. He died a bitter man after he was pushed out of power in a military coup.

Mnangagwa on Monday described him as “a principled man whose values we should respect”.

But the analysts accused Mnangagwa of shedding crocodile tears after conniving with the military to boot out Mugabe. They also labelled him a hypocrite for praising Mugabe’s legacy while his government was busy shredding it.
Political analyst Eldred Masunungure said: “Politics is rarely about genuine convictions and a lot about power, gaining it or maintaining it and, where possible, expanding it.
“In the final analysis, it may well be about the incumbent’s total strategy to appease or assuage former adversaries with a keen eye on 2023.”
Another analyst Rashweat Mukundu said Mnangagwa was in reality totally dismantling Mugabe’s legacy.
“We see Mnangagwa undoing everything Robert Mugabe did. Despite our misgivings, one of Mugabe’s legacies was emphasized on black empowerment and this is regardless of lack of clarity on how this can be done, yet this is one of the key policies Mnangagwa is dismantling. Not only the indigenous policies, but we are actually seeing rural communities being kicked out of land to pave way for white former commercial farmers.”
He added: “This was unimaginable during Mugabe’s time that rural communities would be kicked out of their ancestral land for it to be given to Chinese companies. What we have in Mnangagwa is a mere opportunist who wants to benefit from the legacy of Robert Mugabe but on the other side, undoing the few positives Mugabe stood for.”
Human rights activist and political analyst Ashton Bumhira said it was ironic that Mnangagwa was showering praises on the man he vilified.
“He goes on to talk about principles which he himself failed to stick to by ousting his former boss. It is sad, but to be expected that he would shower praises on the late leader on the anniversary of his death because it serves him politically.
“Remember Zanu PF still has a lot of Mugabe sympathisers, remnants of the G40 faction, these are the people the President is trying to appease with that tribute to the former leader.”
Another political analyst Vivid Gwede however, said: “We should be cognisant of the fact that Mugabe was removed not because his colleagues did not like him or did not approve some of his policies. For decades, they had been close associates. They removed him to solve the succession question which threatened their interests. In the process, there was a natural fallout.”

Mohadi Avoids Public Appearances, Holds Private Party Rallies

By A Correspondent-Former Vice President Kembo Mohadi, who was fired early this year for bonking married female subordinates, is avoiding public appearances and is holding party rallies in private places.

Mohadi, on Tuesday, held a private meeting at the Zanu-PF provincial offices in Lupane, Matabeleland North, where he urged the party leadership to mobilise for his Boss, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mohadi was fired in March after several cases of sexual relationships with married female workmates.

Since then, he has been in hiding.

Chamisa Probes Gweru Defections

By A Correspondent- The MDC Alliance is investigating the defection of 11 of its Gweru councillors to the rival MDC-T.

Last week at least 11 Gweru Urban and four Vungu Rural District MDC-Alliance Councillors defected to the Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC.

MDC Alliance Midlands Provincial spokesperson Takavafira Zhou said they were not worried if some councillors decided to join another party. Said Zhou:

The issue is certainly under investigation by the party. What I can confirm is that some councillors inquired on what they should do that they were invited for a meeting by Mwonzora’s cabal and we advised them that an MDCA councillor who attends another political party’s meeting would have voluntarily expelled herself/ himself.
We are as a party not short of personnel and if some councillors decide to join another political party we are not worried at all because we are aware that such parochialism and narrow-mindedness will not take them far enough.
Our grassroots support continues to grow by leaps and bounds and will be a major decisive factor in the next elections.

The councillors who left the MDC Alliance last week attended a meeting held at Town House chaired by MDC-T secretary for local government, Faith Musarurwa Kamutsungira.
Councillors who dumped MDC Alliance at Gweru City Council are Notal Dzika (ward 8), Charles Chikozho (ward 10), Trust Chinese (ward 15), Catherine Mhondiwa (ward 13), Tawanda Magidi (ward 16), Doubt Ncube (ward 3), Farai Muza (ward 17), Godfrey Giwa (ward 6), Gideon Mugariri (ward 7), John Manyundwa (ward 18) and Edson Kurebgaseka (ward 9).
The four Vungu councillors who have jumped ship are Benjamin Mpala (ward 7), Spiwe Moyo (ward 8), Nyika Parirenyatwa (ward 16) and Restart Muswere (ward 10) and were part of the MDC-T indaba.

SA Police Bash Zimbabwean Driver For Refusing To Pay Bribe

By A Correspondent- South African Police have beaten up a Zimbabwean cross-border bus driver for refusing to pay a R2000 bribe.

The incident happened last Thursday in the Hammanskraal area along the N1 highway.

Defining Hypertension…

ED Is Worth More Than Five (5) Million Votes

BY KELVIN KASIWULAYA MIDLANDS ZIM

AND DR MASIMBA MAVAZA MUDLANDS UK

Come 2023 this country goes to the polls. This election will decide the future direction of our nation and regions for generations to come. Our jobs, homes, and living standards, our children’s education, our heritage, our health system, how we care for our vulnerable and our place in the world will be all determined by the vote in 2023. Never before has your vote mattered so much. Zimbabwe has been given a lifeline by ED and he deserves a chance to finish what he has started.

President Emmerson deserves more than 5million votes from the Zimbabwean electorate. He has earned these votes through his visionary leadership and economic acumen.

ED has improved the various facets of our social life by improving the living standards of many Zimbabwe through the command agriculture program and the legitimation / revamping of the mining sector.

The world believes that only ZANU PF has the policies that will protect and advance the lives of ordinary people. Only ED will invest in skills and training. Only ED will build the homes so urgently needed. Only ED can be trusted with our children’s education. Only ED can make work in this country pay. In less than thirty six months the face of Zimbabwe has changed for better. The civil servants had their pay increased and nurses had their grievances solved.

From 2018 up to this time it was more than business as usual, economic transformation programs were implemented within the set deadlines, we now have our own currency competing on the global market through the auction system ( determined by the economic spectrum in the global south).

Zanu-PF has implemented almost 85% of what has been promised in its 2018 manifesto. Unlike the Chamisa MDC Alliance which promised airports and unrealistic spaghetti roads to the electorate Zanu-PF is currently refurbishing the Harare beitbridge highway, the Harare -Plumtree road is complete, Harare Mutare road is progressing fast.

It is not a secret that MDC-T rule hurts working communities. We also know that under MDC-T the country will be given back to the colonisers. The lies Chamisa has been making will not make working people get ahead.
In 2023 there are many great reasons to vote ED. These will make a real difference to our nation and our future. ED promises real investment in skills and training, he has taken the country back to its glory; it only needs your vote to see him through.
With industrialization as its priority Zanu-PF has got the manpower, the government under the divine guidance of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has educated and trained Zimbabweans through a vibrant education system to transform and revamp our industries, what is now needed are more investors to turn around the economy.

In 2018 ED promised the Zimbabwean populace that this time it will be more economics and less politics, ED has put an end to fuel, food and foreign currency shortages.
ED will grow our economy, investing in skills and infrastructure through a national investment bank. Already investors are flocking into Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe will be a jewel again. The events of the past 38 years cannot be visited in ED. Real change has been witnessed. ZANU PF is fully transformed and it has moved on. Do not be held down by the past.
Above all the Zimbabwean government under the guidance of Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has converged both the mining and agricultural sector to create a sustainable pro-poor development that will lay ground for the creation of a middle income economy by 2030.
Mining together with agriculture are the centrepieces of our economy with potential to generate growth spurts across sectors and re-egnite the much needed economic recovery.
Under ED work will pay.
ED has brought in work and self-respect in the labour market. Already industry is beginning to work. Our railway is starting to come to life. Only ED can be trusted with the health revolution. No more will nurses be so poor that they turn to South Africa. Every civil servant will be appreciated and the country will reward the hard working.
ED has brought a better chance of a better home; he has delivered on that promise and will indeed achieve this.
The mushrooming of unregulated expensive colleges will be a thing of the past. Zimbabwe will be the brains of Africa again. This is not only a promise it is a reality.

Under ED Zimbabwe will invest in new forms of energy to tackle climate change, create the well-paid decent jobs of tomorrow – and keep energy bills low. He will make it a priority to have solar system in every village.

ED is fixing our broken economy before the new dispensation, Zimbabwean living standards had slumped. Among African economies, only Zimbabwe had suffered a harder hit. ED will tackle the low wage, low skill economy the past had created, to build a stronger economy that works for the many, not the few.

To achieve this ED needs your vote. He has started and needs to continue. Open your eyes and allow continuity. Zimbabwe has a chance to be better.

ED says we have suffered enough now it’s the time to enjoy the fruits of our land. MDC-T promises to reverse the gains of freedom, but you are the only one to stop such lunacy. Vote ED.

ED must be allowed to finish the progress he has introduced to us he deserves more than five million votes.

Chiwenga Threatens Marry’s Doctors

By A Correspondent- Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is reportedly threatening medical doctors against releasing an affidavit for his estranged wife Marry Mubaiwa, who is seeking postponement of her cases at the courts due to poor health.

Chiwenga, who is also a Health minister, superintends over medical activities in the country.

Marry has also seen several applications for the release of her passport which would enable her to seek medical attention outside the country, being dismissed.

The court heard yesterday that several doctors approached by Marry had refused to give her a medical report, saying they were afraid of her powerful husband who is their boss.

Marry yesterday appeared in court with a drip fixed on a walker she uses for mobility. She is being accused of attempting to kill Chiwenga. She is also facing money-laundering, fraud and assault charges and is out on bail.

The former model is suffering from lymphoedema, an ailment which causes swelling of hands and legs.

Her lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa, told the court that she could not stand trial and requested the court to postpone the matter for two months as the doctor who was attending to her had recommended a lengthy bed rest.

But the State, led by prosecutor Netsai Mushayabasa, opposed the application, saying Mtetwa did not submit any documents to prove her client’s illness.

Mtetwa in turn told the court that Marry could not get the medical report since all doctors who treated her were refusing to avail it fearing victimisation by Chiwenga.

She opted to have her client remove the bandages to prove to the court that, indeed, her client was suffering from an ailment

“We ask you to take a judiciary notice that the accused person’s husband is the Vice-President and the Minister of Health and all the doctors are too frightened to write that medical affidavit,” Mtetwa told the court.

“We are quite happy that we can remove her bandages so that you can see the wounds. The State cannot make sensitive comments on the accused person who is not well. The insinuation that she is well can be cured by the removal of her bandages from arm and her thigh to prove she is in pain and was operated on the thigh and left hand,” she argued.

“The doctors fear her powerful husband. The accused person has absolutely nothing to gain for feigning illness. She is anxious to have this matter concluded. My learned friend was involved in the matter and they have been communicating with the doctor.”

Mtetwa said Marry could not stand trial as the drugs she was taking would distract her concentration in court.

However, magistrate Noel Mupeiwa ordered doctors treating Marry to avail a medical affidavit for her.

The matter was postponed to October 6, when the court will assess her condition.

Marry has on several occasions been brought to court while on medical support.

In December last year, she was brought to court in an ambulance for a routine remand appearance and was carried into the courtroom in a stretcher, after she had been issued with a warrant of arrest.

In the same month, High Court judge Justice Benjamin Chikowero ordered her to appear before him in person so that he assesses her wounds before passing his judgment on whether she should be given her passport to enable her to travel to South Africa.

Chiwenga and Marry are also embroiled in a highly acrimonious divorce process at the High Court where they have washed dirty their linen in public.

They are also brawling over custody of their three minor children.

Chiwenga currently has custody of the children and has barred Marry from accessing them. She has had to post numerous lamentations on Twitter, crying for his clemency so she could access them, albeit without luck.

Marry Mubaiwa

She has not seen them for over two years as Chiwenga maintains a formidable blockade.

Chiwenga has accused Marry of being an unbalanced drug addict and a substance abuser unsuitable to take custody of the children, while Marry exposed him as a violent and vengeful power-hungry man with excessive political ambitions.

High Court Sitting On Ruling Challenging ZUPCO Monopoly

In their application, which was filed in 2020, Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Association (ZCIEA), Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) and Constantine Chaza, represented by Tendai Biti of ZLHR, argued that the imposition of national lockdown regulations and the ban on informal sector trading imposed by government which included a ban on private commuter omnibuses was discriminatory and unconstitutional.

They also argued that the ban created an unlawful monopoly for ZUPCO.ZCIEA, PAZ and Chaza want some registered transport operators and other operators to be allowed to ferry passengers on their licenced routes subject to compliance with relevant national lockdown conditions such as social distancing, temperature testing and the use of hand sanitisers.

Jonathan Moyo: MDC Called For Sanctions, I Won’t Apologise For Heinous Crimes Committed While I Was Minister

By A Correspondent | As if what he uttered on Saturday was not enough, the exiled former Information Minister Jonathan Moyo has gone on to announce saying he will not at all apologise over heinous crimes committed by state agents while he was minister because as he claims: there were no govt policies to abduct torture or kill anyone.

Jonathan Moyo personally ran a propaganda policy program that between 2000 and 2017 coordinated among others the violent land reform program, and justified the torture and mass murder of hundreds of MDC supporters.

At the weekend, Moyo demanded that MDC Alliance Nelson Chamisa must tell his supporters to stop insulting him because he assisted the MDC Alliance by publishing a historic book on the 2018 elections.

On Tuesday he went on to publish a 24 point thread in which he shielded his violent and destructive land reform program from blame by accusing instead the MDC party for allegedly destroying lives and livelihoods. Moyo also said he will not apologise over heinous crimes committed by state agents while he was minister.

He said:

Key Facts About Hypertension

No Vaccination Cards For The Jabbed In Masvingo. What Is Going On?

By A Correspondent- Scores of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Chikomba District, Mashonaland East Province, are failing to get cards raising suspicion that the cards could have been stolen and sold to the unvaccinated.

Some of those who talked to Masvingo Mirror on condition of anonymity received their jabs at Nharira Hospital.

They complained that they are still to get their vaccination cards two months after completing their doses.

Chikomba District Medical Officer Dr Ignatius Mahachi said he was not aware of the issue and promised to look into the matter. He said:

I am not yet informed about the issue of vaccination cards, however, I am going to look into it.

Isaac Hove from Gwekwerere Village said that the vaccination cards were in high demand and he suspected that some officials could be selling them.

Said Hove:

We are yet to get our inoculation documents. We are tired of walking long distances only to be told to come and check again.

The worrying thing is that without the documents we cannot access services where the cards are required.

There are fears among villagers that the cards could have been sold to people evading vaccination.

Reports suggest that the COVID-19 vaccination card selling syndicate have mushroomed as demand for the cards soar.

The syndicates are thought to be tightly knit involving a web of officials from bureaucrats in the Ministry of Health and Childcare to those in charge of operations at vaccination centres.

Demand for vaccination cards has increased after Government last month ordered the reopening of churches only to fully vaccinated congregants, with several tertiary institutions also demanding students to be fully vaccinated to be allowed entrance to university or college campuses.

Mahlabezulu ,Mthwakazi omuhle, zingane zobaba.

Mthwakazi omuhle , namhlanje sihlangane lapha ngosuku olukhulu kakhulu esizweni sethu, ngilethemba elikhulu ukuthi iningi laMahlabezulu lihlanganele kunye lathi ngesikhathi esifanayo kwi nkundla zokuxhumana ezehlukeneyo, kubomabonakude basebulenjini, kanye nasemisakazweni futhi.

Ngiyalibingelela lonke Mahlabezulu.

Ngesikhathi esifanayo ngidlulisa ukubingelela kumakhosi esizweni sonke, okuyizinduna zakulolonke kwelikaMthwakazi.

Zingane zezinkanyezi, namhlanje lusuku olukhulu, lapho sihlangane ngokuzo khumbula usuku lokukhothama ko mbumbi wesizwe sethu, isilo saseMhlahlandlela, inkosi uMzilikazi kaMashobane.

Nanxa namhlanje, ilusuku sokugubha kube yinjabulo, sigiye, sijakadule kodwa ngeminyaka elikhulu, namashumi amahlanu, lantathu(153 years) edlule, kwaba lusuku olwabamuncu esizweni ngendlela engathethekiyo.

Ilanga lasithela emini libalele, kwazamazama umhlaba, kwadilika intaba enkulu, izinduna zenkosi zasala obala, amabutho ayengabhekwa ngaziqu zamehlo asala ethithibele, isizwe esasilamandla asabekayo salila kwadabukisa ezweni.

Ingakho sizw’esihle, angicabangi kukhona olunye usuku esizweni sethu olubaluleke njenga lololusuku.

King Mzilikazi day is indeed a Mthwakazi day, a day this nation learnt new ways to overcome any challenges confronting the nation.

A day, this nation learnt that at some point the sun will set down, but it shall rise again.

This is the day that prepared this brave and beautiful nation to confront every challenge with their bare hands.

A day this nation made it a point that nothing, neither death nor demons will ever break our spirits.

Mthwakazi omuhle, King Mzilikazi was a great fighter, leader and a nation builder.

Our founding father and King never chose comfort over the wellbeing of his own people.

As I stand tall before you, today, I’m proud to be a descendent of such a great man, but in the midst of my pride, a question pops up, ‘if King Mzilikazi were to rise today, would he be proud of me and what our nation has become?”

That is one question, every one of us sitting here today, must ask ourselves.

This is a question every chief or induna yakoMthwakazi should be asking themselves.

This is one question, I’m challenging every Mthwakazi citizen to ask themselves.

I would also like to further challenge you to look at yourselves and ask the following questions,

Are we anywhere near to emulating what our forefathers achieved in their lifetimes.

Do we measure our successes by what we have achieved for our individual selves or by what we have done for our nation.

Does one’s individual achievement make one a hero of his nation?

Mthwakazi omuhle, it was indeed a great and commendable idea 21 years ago, on the 9th of September 2000 that this nation decided to revive the commemoration of this day.

Since that day, the nation has slowly and gradually moved in trying to find its feet, identity and pride.

Although, we must admit that the pace has been sometimes too slow, and to some extent allowed our detractors to determine it, but we have moved indeed and a lot of ground has been covered.

Now we need to accelerate our speed, and time is not on our side.

This event was made possible today by the unity, unanimity and determination of this nation.

The nation unapologetically spoke clearly and boldly from all corners of life and we as your leadership clearly received the massage.

Mthwakazi people are tired of being treated like second class or none existent citizens.

Mthwakazi people want to mark their space on the world map and be a proud nation again.

Together we can make it and together we shall rise again.

At some point, one is tempted to spell out our program of action but remember inkosi ngumlomo ongathethimanga, therefore, there shall come a time for it.

For now, I’m calling upon every one of you to prepare and mobilize for the rebirth of Mthwakazi Kingdom.

A Kingdom where abeThwakazi bonke, young and old will equally feel proud to belonging to it. Asibonge ama technological advances of todays world ngoba, we are now able to develop what we call the Mthwakazi virtual kingdom.

Where at the touch of a button, one can participate in the kingdoms day to day’s events and discussions, irrespective of which border they may find themselves in globally, through the assistance of some of our prominent Mthwakazians, We have commissioned a world renowned IT company to assist us to put together a sophisticated system, that is not only advanced whilst being user friendly, but also very safe to host our people’s database needs and processing. Manje ngiyazi ukuthi we promised to launch a few months ago but we realized that the initial design was sub par for isizwe sika Mzilikazi.

That is why we made an executive decision to withdraw and get it up to scratch and highly secured. Yiko maHlabezulu ngicela nisithembe, sisebenzisane once it goes live ngoba ngiyazi we have reason to be skeptical as a nation at times kodwa if awuzothemba iNkosi Yakini uzothemba bani?? The data collected there will in the long run help us do the job of leading our nation easier and better and more reliably ngoba then sizobe siwazi ama demographics ethu kahle, ukuthi sazi masikhuluma sikhulumela bani> this info will not be shared with anyone without your prior consent ngoba sonke lana ngiyathemba niyamazi umthetho omusha abalibiza I POPI?!

Ngiyathemba isicelo sam sizwakele bantu baka khokho.

Sizwe sikababa, as we gather here today the world is facing a serious pandemic, a situation which has not spared us as well.

This has not helped our situation but made the situation even more extremely difficult.

I am therefore appealing to all of you to observe all recommended non-pharmaceutical means to minimize the risks of contracting the virus and at same breath appealing to you to take the recommended available medical means so that this nation can pull through this global pandemic. I for one ngilaso I Steve(cate) se vaccine, wena ulindeleni?

Mthwakazi has faced its own countless pandemics since the demise of King Lobhengula in 1894.

My fathers’ people have never tested genuine peace and prosperity for the longest of time.

The fact that we have survived those human sanctioned pandemics, we shall also overcome this natural pandemics as well.

Therefore let’s not lose hope and focus, we shall indeed rise again.

I am glad to see representatives of some of our Khumalo brothers and sisters from various areas including the eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal amongst others, including royalty from other areas… This is indeed what umzilikazi set out to do, ukhlanganisa izizwe ndawonye. We need to strengthen our ties bantu be Nkosi ngoba ukubambana nibe yi mbumba kuqakatheke nge mpela, ngoba there really is strength in numbers.

I thank you, ngiyabonga, futhi ndiyabulela kuni nonke.

Nisale kahle

Zanu Pf’s Abdul Sapa Rejected By Own Community

By A Correspondent- The Indo-Paki community in Harare has allegedly written to ZANU PF Headquarters asking that the party replaces and disciplines Ward 5 council candidate Abdul Sapa who has been described as a domestic terrorist.

A member of the Indo-Paki community who spoke on condition of anonymity said Indians and Pakistanis living in Harare were not happy with the conduct of Abdul Sapa who is accused of having caused the death of respected community leader Ashraf Bhagoo.

Abdul Sapa is accused of using his close proximity to security sector bosses to terrorise the Indo-Paki community in the name of the party and security chiefs.

The source revealed that Abdul Sapa allegedly masterminded a robbery at Sarwar Shah’s residence in Milton Park which led to the death of Ashraf Bhagoo.

Sarwar Shah runs the Hello Paisa brand in Zimbabwe. It is reported that Shah received 2.5 million USD on the 11th of September through official channels which he was meant to divert and fund illegal gold buying deals.

Abdul Sapa has served as a henchman and gold smuggler for Shah. It is reported that Sapa uses state security agents in smuggling the gold.

Sapa was infuriated by Shah who did not renew his security services as he had released that Sapa was untrustworthy and unreliable.

Sapa allegedly then used his ex CID homicide colleagues to stage a robbery at Shah’s house. Ashraf Bhagoo a respectable elder and leader of the Indo-Pakistani community was shot during the Sapa masterminded robbery.

Sapa claims to be a ZANU PF loyalist and brags that he has ties to generals who protect him.

Sapa has allegedly terrorized the Indian moslem community he sends robbers , Zimra, ZACC, sacu , homicide , to raid Indian households and runs an extortion ring.

Members of the Indo-Pakistani community have vowed to continue supporting Zanu PF but they demand that the party replaces Abdul Sapa as his warlord tendencies which have left the community living in fear are going to cost the party in the 2023 elections.

The IndoPak community said they have a huge pool of talented , patriotic and politically clear individuals who can replace Abdul Sapa.

Members of the IndoPaki community are in the process of compiling a dossier on Abdul Sapa and his criminal activities.

Speaking in Buhera where he was touring Dorowa, a phosphate mine on Sunday, the former army commander said:

As the Minister of Health and Child Care, I will make sure that vaccination certificates will be required for people to access public places although we have relaxed a few things.

I, therefore, encourage people to be vaccinated as it will be difficult to enjoy services when lockdown measures are relaxed.

We will allow you to watch soccer, watch cricket and enjoy food in a restaurant but you will be required to produce a vaccination certificate. We will not allow you to enter public places without a vaccination certificate.
