Marry Chiwenga Approaches Mnangagwa For Medical Assistance

By A Correspondent- Vice President Constantino Chiwenga wife, Marry, has reached out to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for medical financial assistance.

Marry told NewsDay Weekender that she reached out to the President after failing to get attention from her husband, Chiwenga.

The publication said the vice President’s wife claimed she had not received financial assistance from her husband or the government.

She wanted President Mnangagwa as the head of state and government to help her get funding for her medical bills.

Marry gets medical attention at a Harare private hospital, where she continues to battle lymphedema, which has resulted in her sustaining swollen legs and hands.

Marry told NewsDay Weekender on Tuesday that her primary concern was her financial incapacitation and failure to get access to her three children.

She said all was not well for her, with no one, including President Emmerson Mnangagwa, coming to her rescue.

“Things are not looking good for me, I am really sick. I have been in and out of hospital in the last couple of months and have been admitted for close to two weeks now,” the 40-year-old former top model said.

“I have asked and asked and even asked President Emmerson Mnangagwa for financial assistance, but nothing has come my way.”
Mnangagwa has, however, in the past assisted Marry financially, particularly during the time when Chiwenga was hospitalised in China.
Despite her condition, Marry has been confined to Zimbabwe where she is failing to acquire adequate medical care since the courts have denied her access to her passport, while Chiwenga, who is sick and requires constant medical attention, has the privilege of flying to China periodically.

A distraught Marry said all seemed to be crumbling in her face, with Chiwenga fighting her using all sorts of ammunition since the former Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander sensationally accused her of attempting to kill him while he was hospitalised in South Africa.

“My offices in Domboshava were taken away from me and armed Presidential Guard soldiers are posted there just like our home, my equipment is lying redundant that I bought from my own sources of income,” she said.

“As a result, I am faced with serious financial challenges such that I don’t even have money for my children’s school fees.”

Marry, who has two children from a previous marriage, said her parents had been supportive of her during the trying times.

“I thought that after my husband (Chiwenga) had healed, he would take care of me looking after my health as he knows I am not well, but we all know what happened,” she said.

Marry is embroiled in a nasty divorce with the former military commander whom she married under customary law in July 2011 and sired three children together. Chiwenga filed for divorce after recovering from a life-threatening illness in 2019.

Marry is also facing charges of fraud, money-laundering and attempted murder of her estranged husband.
She, however, denies the charges and, instead, accuses Chiwenga of approaching the court with dirty hands and fabricating the allegations in order to gain an upper hand in their pending divorce case.
Recently, she appealed to Mnangagwa to intervene and help her have access to her children.
Contacted for comment, presidential spokesperson George Charamba said: “I have no interest in the NewsDay Weekender crew, I have nothing to say to you, write whatever you want. I can’t waste my voice sanitising what you would have written.

Honde Valley Accident Victim’s Private Parts Missing

By A Correspondent- Private parts of one of last week’s Honde Valley road accident victims are missing.

Hauna District Hospital officials are the ones who discovered that one of the bodies had some missing private parts.

The deceased man’s family, Abel Rutope (24), told The Manica Post that no one is giving a satisfactory explanation on what happened to the privates.

Rutope’s sister, Annia Chingosi of Buwu Village who was visibly distraught, told the publication that they were still to come to terms with what could have happened to her brother.

Although they were not pointing fingers at anyone for the missing body parts, they feel there are more questions than answers to their plight.

“Rutope is my bother and when we went to the hospital after being informed that he was among those who perished in this accident, we were shown his body,”she said.

The medical personnel at the hospital uncovered his body for us to positively identify him as well as see the injuries he had sustained.

They also pointed out that they did not understand why his privates were missing. They advised us to visit the accident scene to search for the privates and that is the reason why we are here.

We really cannot point a finger at anyone now, but we cannot rule out foul play. How can his privates disappear like that?

When we inspected his remains, his pair of trousers and undergarments were pulled down to knee level. This is painful as we might be forced to bury him without the privates.

A nurse at Hauna Hospital who declined to be named citing protocol revealed that indeed the private parts were missing with no clue of their whereabouts. Said the nurse:

We just received the bodies as they were and we hope they will be able to retrieve the privates from the accident scene.

Seven people died on the spot when the driver of a Harare-bound haulage truck ferrying bananas to the market lost control at a curve on a steep slope a few metres from Hauna Growth Point in Honde Valley.

Of the 13 people who were injured, five of them were in critical condition and were transferred to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital in Mutare.

The seven victims were identified as Gracious Masuka (49), Judah Katamabarare (32), Tendai Moses Mangemba (48), Tsitsi Makwiyana (14), Abel Rutope (24), Ethel Jenjani (41) and Sarah Njumira (44).

Macheso Band Member Arrested For Rape

By A Correspondent- Sungura Maestro Alick Macheso’s dancer Selemani Mpochi popularly known as Majuice has been arrested on allegations of raping his 17-year-old girlfriend.

Mpochi (34) was facing rape charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi.

He was remanded out of custody on his own recognition.

The court heard that on August 20 the complainant sent a text message to the dancer begging him to drive her to Kuwadzana the following day for a party.

It is alleged that the next day Mpochi met the complainant and they proceeded to Kuwadzana where he dropped her and went away.

At around 5 pm on the same day, the complainant sent a message to Mpochi advising him that she was not feeling comfortable at the party. She told him to come and pick her up.

The court heard that Mpochi drove and picked the complainant and went to a certain house in Crowborough phase 3 where they entered into a room and sat on the bed.

Mpochi allegedly gave the complainant beer and left to buy her food.

It is the State’s case that Mpochi came back and started caressing the complainant who allegedly told him to stop what he was doing.

The court heard that Mpochi went on to have sexual intercourse with the complainant once without her consent.

After the act, it is alleged, Mpochi drove the complainant to her house where she arrived late.

It is alleged that her mother asked her why she had come back home late and she first lied to her only to reveal the truth the following day to her friend and the matter was reported to the police leading to Mpochi’s arrest.

Zvimba Chief Infected And Killed By Corona During Attempts To Exhume Mugabe’s Remains.

By A Correspondent- As dramatic as it sounds, a Zvimba chief got infected with COVID-19 while in the process of preparing to exhume the remains of the former president Robert Mugabe. The late President Robert Mugabe’s family has celebrated the death of Chief Beperere, who was behind the exhumation of the former ruler.

Chief Beperere succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday and was buried at his farm in Raffingora on Wednesday.

The late former president’s family hated Chief Beperere for backing Chief Zvimba’s judgement that Mugabe’s remains be exhumed and be reburied at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.

According to Mugabe family member Dominic Matibiri, the Mugabe ancestral spirits were angered by calls for the exhumation of his body from the family homestead in Zvimba communal lands.

Matibiri warned the other remaining chiefs – Chief Zvimba, Chief Seremani and Chief Chidziva – who presided over the matter that they will die one after the other as the avenging spirit strikes back.

“As the Mugabe family, we will not mourn Chief Beperere with others because we feel that the avenging spirit punished him for taking part in the exhumation calls,” one of the Mugabe family members told VOA.

“Chief Beperere was Mugabe’s chief and should have presided over the matter but decided to trick us by taking the matter to Chief Zvimba… This is a great anomaly,” he added.

The late former president’s nephew, Leo Mugabe, concurred, saying Chief Beperere played double standards as he connived with Chief Zvimba in an area he had sole jurisdiction over.

“Chief Beperere was our chief but he decided to play hard on us and rope in an outsider Chief Zvimba to announce the skewed judgement,” he said.

The Mugabes have since appealed against the judgement of the chiefs.

“The album is all about thanking the Lord for his remarkable hand in my life. I have gone through a lot but God has protected and guided me. The album is also about encouraging someone who is being tormented by life challenges that God is the almighty and will never forsake his people,” said Thondhlana.

The talented cleric was buoyant about collaborating with other musicians saying it helps to push his message far and wide.“I enjoy collaborating with other musicians and on the album Covered, I can safely say the musicians who featured brought so much. I intent to have more collaborations in my next projects,” added Thondhlana.

“I would like to thank my wife Juliet for always supporting my music. I am also grateful to my Bishop Rev John Matiza for encouraging me to pursue music, these are the fruits of his encouragements and I am always indebted.”

On Kutenda which features Munyaradzi Munodawafa, Thondhlana talks about having strong faith in order to please God while Purutanyi Purutanyi which features another gospel music rookie Patience Muchayi, the revered pastor sings about the benefits of following God’s commandments and word.Another track to look forward to is Zvakaita sekurota, featuring Dendera prodigy Tryson Chimbetu.

Hundreds Of Villagers Evicted By Another Chinese Iron Project

HUNDREDS of Chivhu villagers are set to be evicted from their ancestral land to pave way for a 12 000-hectare iron and steel mining project by a Chinese company, Tsingshan Group Holdings.

Majority of the residents who are set to lose their homes are in ward 7 in Chikomba district where Dinson Iron and Steel Company, a subsidiary of the Tsingshan Group Holdings, has already started preparations for extracting iron in the Manhize area, some 60km west of Chivhu town.

Former Zimbabwean ambassador to China and Zanu PF member Chris Mutsvangwa is reportedly spearheading the project. Mutsvangwa admitted his involvement ion the new iron and steel venture.

“Where I have an interest, I declare it, like in the case of this giant mining venture,” he said.

When NewsDay Weekender visited the site on Wednesday, construction was underway, with villagers saying they were not sure of whether they would be allocated alternative land.

Although the villagers said they had not yet been formally notified of the evictions some of them had already lost their farming land and more were expecting to suffer the same fate as the mining project was fast expanding its territory.

“We expected the government to engage and give us full information about this whole project,” James Munemo (39), one of the affected villagers said.

“We thought they would come with a clear position on the nature of the project. We expected authorities to publicise the names of those who would be affected by the project well in time so that we are not ambushed with evictions.

“That is not the case here. We just see them (the Chinese miners) constructing roads, cutting across our fields and we have not been given an opportunity to engage them on what is best for us. We can’t stop them.”

Another villager, Queen Dhliwayo said although she had not yet lost land to the Chinese miners, seeing others losing theirs had unsettled her. “Neighbours have already lost land and I am afraid it may affect me too,” Dhliwayo said.

“I am not sure of what will happen because authorities have not yet updated us on the progress of the project besides notifying us that there was an investor who was undertaking mining activities in this area. I hope the government will come and address us on the way forward and ensure that those who are displaced get compensation.”

Chikomba Rural District Council chairperson Israel Dhikinya confirmed that villagers would be displaced, but did not disclose further details.

He said the local authority had embraced the Chinese project as it would give the transit town a massive facelift through infrastructure development and job creation.

“The land is not going to be taken in one day because the production will be done in phases,” Dhikinya said.

“This will be done over years. The Manhize area is a resettlement area with a limited population, hence those who are going to be displaced in the area are not as many as they would have been, if it were a communal area.”

However, investigations conducted by NewsDay Weekender show that several villagers had settled for over 30 years in the area, way before the land resettlement programme of the early 2000s.

Mines and Mining Development minister Winston Chitando was not available for comment on his mobile phone.

But speaking in Parliament recently, Mines and Mining Development deputy minister Polite Kambamura said the Chinese company was yet to determine the actual number of villagers who would be relocated.

“Currently, there is no determination that has been made as to how many people will be relocated,” Kambamura said.

“There is an environmental impact assessment (EIA) that is being undertaken and after the conclusion of the EIA report, that is when the company will know how many families will be moved from the project area.

“They are yet to determine the exact location of the project area and to see which families will be affected. Whatever will be done in the relocation of the families, it will be done in consultation with the local leadership and also the company will undertake to meet all the costs of relocation which include building of houses for the affected families.”

Chivhu Residents and Ratepayers Alliance chairperson Collen Zvarevashe said it was important for government to keep residents well-informed about the project.

“If the development is for us, it should include us. Government should be transparent on public affairs. Instead of welcoming the project, villagers are shunning it.

“Government should go back to the drawing board on this project to ensure inclusivity and that harmony prevails between the villagers and the investors. Government cannot continue professing ignorance on the number of those who are to be affected when there is already progress on the ground.”

Thousands of villagers in other parts of the country are facing similar challenges over Chinese mining projects. -Newsday

Chamisa Has Become Disrespectiful: Mwonzora

The MDC Alliance party led by Senator Douglas Mwonzora is demanding respect from its nemesis, the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa over the use of the party name.

The two parties are at loggerheads over the use of the party name and symbols since Mwonzora broke away from the Alliance last year but later claimed he was the rightful president of the party.

The High Court last year ruled in favour of Mwonzora to use the MDC Alliance name and party offices but the Chamisa outfit is refusing to back down.

In a strong-worded press statement, Stephen Mazanza, spokesperson of the Zim People First, MDC Alliance director responsible for re-engagements said by continuously masquerading as the Alliance leader, Chamisa had become disrespectful.

“Mr Chamisa it’s time you respect us? Respect the ZIMPF, respect Ambassador (Agrippa) Mutambara as a freedom fighter, respect your party you claim to lead in isolation,” Mazanza said.

“Zimbabwe is tired of all this nonsense, the ZIMPF, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Zanu Ndonga, MDC-T, MCD, and MDC Green are signatories of the MDC Alliance not (Tendai) Biti or Welshmen Ncube alone,” the statement further stated.

“So, I am telling you now to stop misleading the nation you are MDC Alliance. Stop now!” continued Mazanza. He said Chamisa should rejoin the Alliance if he is interested in it.“If you really want this Alliance, come home. There’s room for everyone but on condition, you know who’s in charge (seven parties) led by Hon Sen President D Mwonzora.

Finish and clear!“You guys are not bigger than Zimbabwe, not bigger than the MDC Alliance, not bigger than our individual parties. If you are serious about MDC Alliance, come home, and join the Alliance.Mazanza accused the Chamisa camp of being power-hungry and not care enough about the people of Zimbabwe.“You claim to be for the people, I challenge you to prove that you are not after power, prove you are not after wealth, prove the people come first,” he said.

Chamisa’s spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahare poured cold water on the claims and instead accused Mwonzora of masquerading as the rightful Alliance leader.

However, Chamisa’s spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere hit back accusing Mwonzora and his colleagues of being puppets of the ruling Zanu-PF.

“For now we note that Mr Mwonzora is masquerading as the MDC Alliance leader despite the fact that he caused the illegal recall of elected officials on the pretext that they were members of the MDC Alliance,” she said.

Earlier in the week, the Chamisa faction hinted that there will be a name change as the party shifts focus on the 2023 elections.

Man Arrested For Brutally Assaulting Wife, Boyfriend…

By A Correspondent- Police in Mukumbura, Mashonaland Central province, have arrested a man who, in a fit of rage, pelted his ex-wife with bricks and struck her boyfriend with a log after allegedly finding them being intimate in a granary.

The accused, Kufa Kukunzangoma (60) faces attempted murder charges.

Mashonaland Central acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo said Kukunzangoma caught his ex-wife Ketai Kapiririi (40) being intimate with Tapera Chavhundura (34) on Tuesday and meted instant justice on them.

“I can confirm a case in Mukumbura where Kukunzangoma struck his ex-wife twice with bricks after assaulting Chavhundura once with a log on the head, thereby leaving the two battling for life at a local hospital,” Dhliwayo said.

It is alleged that Kukunzangoma went to his ex-wife’s homestead around 10pm on Tuesday and was advised that she was not around. He searched for her around and found her in a compromising position with Chavhundura in a granary.

In a fit of rage, Kukunzangoma picked a log and struck Chavhundura once on the head and he became unconscious. His ex-wife tried to flee, but was struck with a brick on the back and sustained life-threatening injuries.

Neighbours managed to intervene and handed the accused to the police.

New Party Proposes Diaspora Bond

Newly formed political party, Patriotic Zimbabweans (PZ) is proposing the Zimbabwe Diaspora Bond (ZDB), an economic rescue plan to fix Zimbabwe economic challenges.

By Chamunorwa Matanhike

In an interview, PZ president Charles Muchinerepi Mutama said ZDB is a proposed loan from the diaspora to the government which will be managed in a trustee role by a certified continental financial organization on behalf of the diaspora creditors.

“Diaspora creditors will partner the government through a private company that will construct and operate toll plazas for the collection of revenue which will be used to service the loans. The ZDB will run for years while specifically focusing on road networks and then shift to energy, mining, agriculture, etc.,” he said.

“As a party, we are emphasizing the need for a public-private partnership between the diaspora and government in infrastructural development which guarantees a win-win situation for Zimbabweans through Return on Investments (ROI),” said Mutama.

“We formed PZ after realising that a combined political formation that includes the diaspora and those at home will best serve the interests of the nation while leveraging their ingenuity, resourcefulness and access to foreign markets as a collective,” said the former MDC Alliance Washington DC branch chairperson.

He also added that PZ was formed because in Zanu PF and MDC Alliance, the diaspora is marginalised in the leadership structures of their political formations as they are only needed for convenience’s sake.

Mutama, who is based in the United States of America said PZ which is going to contest in the 2023 elections vision is to ensure that Zimbabwe reverts to its position of being the jewel of Africa in terms of the economy and a genuinely people driven and centred politics.

“Our party has embarked on publicity, recruitment, and creation of structures within and outside Zimbabwe using two kinds of approaches which are internet and individually based.

This has seen the party being established in different parts of the country and outside Zimbabwe,” he said.

PZ is led by Charles Muchineripi Mutama (President), Chiwoneso Mpofu (Vice President), Richard Appleton (Secretary General), Abel Mutize (National Chairperson), Desire Ncube (Deputy Secretary General), Samuel Khumalo (Treasurer General), Godswill Mugambiwa (Deputy Treasurer General), Advocate Princloo Kandemiiri (National Spokesperson), Monica Borerwe ( Women’s Chairperson), Pishai Muchauraya ( Secretary for International Relations), Mrs. Borerwe ( Secretary for Elections) and Charles Chidavaenzi (Deputy National Chairperson).

The party was formed in January 2021.

SA Constitutional Court Dismisses Bid To Postpone Elections

South Africa’s Constitutional Court has dismissed an urgent application by the country’s Electoral Commission (IEC), seeking to postpone the 2021 local government elections.

The ConCourt on Friday ordered the IEC to hold local government elections on any day between 27 October and 1 November this year.

The Concourt further instructed the IEC to hold a special voter registration weekend – the date of which must be announced within three days of the order which was handed down on Friday. The order read:

The Commission must, within three calendar days after the date of this order, determine whether it is practically possible to hold a voter registration weekend with a view of registering new voters and changing registered voters’ particulars on the national voters’ roll in time for local government elections to be held on any day in the period from Wednesday, 27 October 2021 to Monday, 1 November 2021 (both dates inclusive).

The commission’s legal action followed the proclamation of the election date as 27 October by Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.

A commission of inquiry appointed by the IEC and led retired justice Dikgang Moseneke was tasked with looking into whether this year’s elections could be held in a free and fair manner, given the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moseneke recommended a postponement of the elections, to February 2022, citing the rising number of infections.

It was on the basis of the Moseneke report that the IEC filed a court application seeking for the postponement of the elections.- IOL

Mudzuri Blasts Mnangagwa Administration For Tormenting Government Workers

Tinashe Sambiri|Former Zaka Central MP, Harison Mudzuri has urged civil servants to unite in the fight for decent working conditions.

Mudzuri is the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe national coordinator.

According to Mudzuri, the victim mentality is crippling the civil service.

Below is his full presentation…

THE VICTIM MENTALITY CRIPPLES THE CIVIL SERVANTS IN ZIMBABWE

By Mudzuri Harison (PTUZ National Coordinator)

When faced with danger or discomfort, animals resort to three means of survival: Fight, Flight, orFreeze. When fight is the option animals confront the danger head on. When flight is the choice taken animals resort to fleeing- running away or avoiding engagement. When freeze is chosen, the animals stand still and fake death- hoping the danger will go away.

Just like animals, human beings also use the three types of responses to danger or discomfort: fight,
flight and freeze. Teachers and other civil servants in Zimbabwe, being humans, have the same options when responding to the discomfort of working for the government of Zimbabwe due to poor salaries and poor working conditions.

Teachers now earn a salary that is way below the poverty datum line (PDL). Their work load is
monstrously and frighteningly big and burdensome; we have new subjects introduced without
consultation, we have CALA, we have RBM, and stressful pensions given to teachers on retirement. You
could easily argue that teachers are the new beasts of burden, the government’s donkey, the Benjamins
of Animal Farm. But unlike that Benjamin, teachers should not accept inordinate burden without
question.

With these unbearable working conditions, the Zimbabwean government is even surprised how
teachers have endured to this far. The parents and other concerned stakeholders have even been
surprised how teachers have been coping with this inhumane and degrading treatment. A circulating
joke, which is a bit real, says that teachers and other civil servants should actually be investigated for
continuing to report for duty, and actually surviving, with so little which has to cover so much.

That being the case, the majority of the Zimbabwean civil servants have resorted to flight or freeze.
Using the flight mode of response, the government workers have left their jobs and sought alternative employment or become self-employed. This does not solve the problems in the sector. The pension benefits they will receive after running away from their noble profession are a reminder that the
discomfort still remains.

Of those that do not choose to run away, the majority choose to freeze. In this mode, the civil servants resort to do nothing about it. They have accepted their fate. They believe that their fate was determined long back by some god or other supernatural being or by their government. They believe that they are victims of the system and as victims they cannot change anything. According to them, if anything is to change it depends on the mercy or generosity of the government.

These are the civil servants, teachers included, who would say to themselves, “We have tried
negotiations, strikes, incapacitation, petitions, and litigation and nothing has changed. This government will never listen to us, so it is better to just work and forget about improved working conditions.” As some would tell you, under the guise of wisdom, a teacher should have many projects that make
him/her survive as well as fend for the family. But the unstated truth in that statement is that it is the responsibility of government to cater for the remuneration of its employees.

These types of civil servants would have resigned to fatalism and victim mentality. They are like a timid child who closes his/her eyes when a snake is about to bite him/her. Closing of eyes does not remove the danger at all but gives the snake ample time to strike as it pleases.

What then is helpful? What should these civil servants DO?

They MUST take charge and not leave their needs, interest and survival to chance. They must be masters of the destiny. If they don’t demand or fight for better salaries and for better living conditions no one, not even a good Samaritan, will come to their rescue.

No matter how docile and pacified they become, no matter how tolerant they become, no matter how many of them leave their jobs, and no matter how ‘quiet’ and passive they are, their living and working conditions will not miraculously improve.

This has nothing to do about teachers being the largest group of the civil servants, it has nothing to do with nurses and doctors, neither has it anything to do with those in the security sector. It has everything to do with every government worker in Zimbabwe.

Come together and demand what you deserve. You are your own liberators.

Unite and fight one war with one objective and one mission.

End ZUPCO Monopoly, Govt Told

By A Correspondent| Residents groups have urged government to end the ZUPCO monopoly blasting recent moves to punish stranded commuting public who resort to using unauthorised transport.

Posting on social media site Facebook, the Harare Residents Trust (HRT) denounced the fining of stranded commuters saying the blame lied with the government which continues to stick with the ZUPCO monopoly despite glaring signs of ineffectiveness.

“Commuters stranded in the central business district should not be fined at all. The problem is with the government that maintains a monopoly by an inefficient and ineffective ZUPCO transport system,” said HRT.

The residents grouping urged government to hold the minister of local government and public works to account for inflicting pain on commuters who go through the rigors of waiting long hours for transport to and from their homes every day.

“The solution in the interim is to remove the ZUPCO monopoly and allow roadworthy kombis to operate. After all some of the ZUPCO buses on the road are unroad-worthy,” added HRT.

HRT also warned government that failure to address the transport blues being faced by the commuting public was brewing resentment against the establishment.

“The resentment towards the government is increasing by the day! The government has no one to blame when the people turn their back on them.

“They are provoking the people daily through making them go through painful experiences as they struggle to leave town and reach their homes. In the mornings, the situation is the same,” added HRT.

MDC Alliance Secretary for Transport, Settlement Chikwinya had no kind words for the government over recent ‘unimaginable’ moves to fine commuting public who use unauthorised public transport.

Chikwinya said insistence on ZUPCO when it was failing corroborates the alleged reports of looting by the ruling ZANU PF leadership.

“The insistence of government on the current ZUPCO model where in the buses are always over Loaded and do not observe any Covid-19 protocol simply corroborates the fact that the ZUPCO initiative is one among many of the looting vehicles by close associates to Zanupf leadership,” said Chikwanya.

Poverty Liberation Movement has also urged government to stop fining commuters saying the ZUPCO was textbook example of an inefficient transport system.

“The Poverty Liberation Movement demands that government and the ZRP leave the poor with their transport of choice until ZUPCO is truly competitive and efficient,” the party said.

Pastor Who Bedded Woman During Prayer Acquitted Of Rape

By Grace Ministries Pastor Onbert Mapfumo yesterday walked out of prison this week after the High Court overturned his conviction of raping a woman congregant at his prayer room in New Canaan, Highfield, Harare.

Pastor Mapfumo was convicted of rape in July 2017 after he took a woman congregant into his room to pray for her deliverance from evil spirits, but then said he had to be intimate with her. The trial court after hearing the complainant said this was unlawful pressure, and so was rape, but the High Court disagreed and found the woman had consented.

Pastor Mapfumo (43), was on Wednesday acquitted after serving four years of the effective 22-year-jail term imposed on him four years ago by a Harare regional magistrate. Justice Pisirayi Kwenda allowed the appeal by Pastor Mapfumo.

In his judgment, he questioned the conduct of the woman who laid the complaint and called on the society to create programmes that help inform members of the public about outdated and gullible practices so that they can make better decisions.

This would empower women to enable them to make knowledgeable decisions before submitting to possibly dangerous practices.

Said Justice Kwenda: “The legislature may consider amending the constitution to create an independent commission that can act as a watchdog regulating the conduct of churches and with a sp The trial court’s assessment of the totality of the prosecution evidence provoked sharp criticism from Justice Kwenda, who could not find how the victim was subjected to unlawful pressure to induce her to submit herself to being intimate with the pastor.

He noted in his judgment that Pastor Mapfumo had made his intention clear that he wanted to bed the woman as part of the “spiritual healing process.”

And after the first act, the woman even went back to receive her final intimacy healing, with Justice Kwenda finding that she let him do it because she wanted to derive benefit from it.

He said the woman was not under any apprehension about the fact that she was indulging in intimacy with her pastor.

“To the enlightened, the method of spiritual cleansing which the complainant said she underwent was clearly of no benefit to her, and disgusting, but in her own words she sought treatment and voluntarily partook in the healing process because she believed in its efficacy,” said Justice Kwenda.

Pastor Mapfumo appeared in court facing six charges of raping female congregants, but was convicted on two counts of raping the female congregant on two separate occasions sometime in 2015.ecific mandate to promote and protect freedoms of persons in religious communities.”

He was slapped a total of 28 years in jail, but six years were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.

Pastor Mapfumo was, however, acquitted of three counts with one of the charges having been withdrawn before the matter went for trial.– Herald

35y Old Constantino Chiwenga Imposter Jailed

Constantino Chiwenga

The 35-year-old Harare man who tried to persuade Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals that he was Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care Constantino Chiwenga to evade paying his hospital bills will spend the weekend behind bars awaiting his bail ruling on Monday.
Prosecutor Mrs Monalisa Magwenzi is opposing bail on the grounds that Marlon Katiyo was a flight risk and would abscond.

Katiyo, who has of no fixed abode, was facing fraud charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi.

During last month and up to Wednesday this week he allegedly visited Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and Avenues Clinic to seek medical attention for his headache problem. It is the State’s case that he gave the hospitals false information regarding his names.

He allegedly misrepresented to the hospital officials on several occasions that he was Marlon Katiyo, Tendai Marara, General Chiwenga and Dominic Chiwenga to avoid detection when fraudulently acquiring medical services. He was treated at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and went away.

It is the State’s case that through the misrepresentation, Katiyo intended to avoid being detected when his payments to the hospital were due. Herald

Logarusic Justifies Warriors Pedestrian Performance

Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic has blamed a lack of match fitness for his charges’ lacklustre performance in a goalless draw at home to South Africa in a World Cup qualifier this Friday.

Zimbabwe could have lost the match had it not been for right-back Takudzwa Chimwemwe’s last-ditch clearance off the line in the second half.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, the Croat said a lack of match fitness in his team partly contributed to the eventual result. He said:

It was a difficult game, and I will give you a few thoughts. You could see at the end of the game that we had a problem with match fitness because only four of our players are playing regularly at their clubs.

We have (Onismor) Bhasera, Marshall (Munetsi), Khama (Billiat) and (Knowledge) Musona, who are playing regularly at their clubs, the rest of our players are not playing regularly.

The boys from Zambia are in pre-season, the boys from South Africa don’t play regularly- for example, (Kuda) Mahachi doesn’t play, (Divine) Lunga doesn’t play and even Alec too doesn’t play.

Logarusic believes that under the circumstances, a draw with South Africa was a fair result. He said:

The draw is there. Even last time, I was looking at the history, when you qualified for Egypt (AFCON 2019), you didn’t win your first game, you won in Congo.

It was a difficult game, we needed a bit of individual brilliance, we didn’t get it.

In the end, I think a draw was a fair result and we have to look in some other games to try and catch up for those two points. – Soccer24 Zimbabwe

The 10-team tournament, the schedule for which will be announced in due course, decides three qualifiers for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 to be held in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3, joining five teams who have already qualified through the ICC Women’s Championship — Australia, England, India, South Africa and hosts New Zealand.

The three qualifiers as well as the next two teams will also ensure places in the next ICC Women’s Championship (IWC) along with the top five from last time, as the number of teams in the third cycle of the IWC goes up from eight to 10 teams.

The teams that will be seen in action in the fifth edition of the tournament are Bangladesh, Ireland, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United States, the West Indies and Zimbabwe.

ICC head of events Chris Tetley said: “The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier is an extremely important event in our calendar as it not only provides teams with a chance to qualify for the World Cup, but will also determine the final two participants in the next edition of the ICC Women’s Championship.

“I’m sure Harare will be witness to some keenly contested matches. I thank Zimbabwe Cricket for agreeing to host the tournament and wish teams all the best in their preparations for this important event.”

Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani said: “Firstly, I wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the ICC board for their magnanimous gesture in allowing us the privilege of hosting the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2021.

“On our part, we will leave no stone unturned to ensure this prestigious global event stands out as a unique event that celebrates Zimbabwe in all its magnificent splendour, richness, vibrancy, diversity and glory.

“I believe being granted the right to host this tournament is a vote of confidence in what we as ZC are doing and what we are hoping to do.

Transport Blues In Harare, As Mnangagwa Bans Kombies

By A Correspondent- Harare has been hit by a serious shortage of public transport after the government intensified crack down on kombies.

On Friday, people failed to find transport to return to their homes and spent hours waiting for transport.

Most affected were those who stay in Kuwadzana, Warren Park and other western suburbs who get transport at Copacabana Bus Terminal.

“Nothing more than this explains the regime’s tragic failures due to corrupt rule and incompetence,” posted journalist Hopewell Chin’ono on his Twitter account Friday.

“They have failED to provide transportation”, he said.

Macheso Dancer Up For Rape

Accident Victim’s Private Parts Vanish

By A Correspondent- The body of one of the victims of Sunday’s haulage truck accident that claimed seven lives on the spot at Hauna Growth Point in Honde Valley was ferried to Hauna District Hospital with its privates missing.

100 In Violent Land Clashes

By A Correspondent- Over 100 people have been arrested for engaging in violent clashes over land.

The violent clashes involved two groups in Harare’s Whitecliff.

Trouble started when the instigating group went around attempting to evict people from their houses, claiming ownership of the land.

However, NewsDay established that the land belongs to property developer, Eddies Pfugari Properties, which the residents illegally occupied 10 years ago.

It also emerged that the company had obtained a High Court order to evict the invaders. Eddies Pfugari Properties said they were not involved in yesterday scuffle as it was negotiating with government to settle the issue amicably.

One of the residents who refused to be named told NewsDay that the chaos was caused by one Shepherd Mushati who was illegally selling stands on land belonging to Eddies Pfugari Properties

Warriors In Goalless Draw With Bafana Bafana

By A Correspondent- Zimbabwe and South Africa played a goalless game in the group G of Africa’s 2022 World Cup Qualifying tournament at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Friday.

The result represents a solid start for visitors Bafana Bafana, while the Warriors will feel that they should have made more of their dominance of possession.

Zimbabwe generally enjoyed more of the ball and looked the more proactive team, but South Africa were dangerous whenever they had the chance to push forward.

Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic has now won a single match out of the 13 matches he has overseen in the Warriors dugout.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe badly missed their England-based players, among them Marvelous Nakamba, Tendayi Darikwa, Macauley Bonne, Jordan Zemura and Brendon Galloway, after EPL and EFL teams refused to release them due to stringent UK government travel rules.

South Africa will be back in Group G action on Monday 6 September with a home match against Ghana at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, while Zimbabwe will travel to face Ethiopia at Bahir Dar Stadium the following day.

Mudzuri Implores Civil Servants To Unite In Fight For Decent Working Conditions

Midlands Youths Rally Behind Mnangagwa | OPINION

By Kelvin Kasiwulaya Midlands Zimbabwe
And Dr MASIMBA MAVAZA Midlands England | The vigorous campaign to woe the youth to ZANU PF is yielding fruits as the youth flock to ZANU PF in their numbers. In that spirit the Youths in the Midlands Province have sworn true alligiance to President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa saying they will cast their votes for the visionary leader in the upcoming 2023 harmonized elections. The youth have realised that they are the owners of their own future and thus they must entrust it with a person who will guard it with his life. Having searched everywhere the youth found no one worthy than cde MNANGAGWA.

These sentiments come at a time when, The ruling Party ZANU-PF is preparing to gunner more than 5million votes in the upcoming plebiscite.

In an interview Zanu-PF Midlands Province Youth Political Commissar Cde Simbarashe Mtukwa has assured his President Mnangagwa that youths in the Midlands Province are hundred percent behind him.

“Come 2023 the youthbase in the Midlands Province from Gokwe to Mberengwa will add our fair share to the 5million votes targeted by the revolutionary party”

We support the visionary leadership of our revolutionary leader CDE ED. We say 2023 5 million votes ED PFEEEE

Cde Mtukwa also encouraged the youth to join Zanu-PF and have their names written in the cell registers across the ZANU-PF districts in the Midlands Province.

Our youth leadership in the province should make sure that every youth member both new and old should get their names written at the cell level of the party.

I also encourage our village heads, farm owners to help in the registration of new and old members in the party branches and cells, he said.

Speaking on the same note, Shurugwi youths in mining also accertained their support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa

We as the small scale artisanal miners in Shurugwi will vote for Zanu-PF and Cde Mnangagwa, our president has been very supportive especially in the mining sector, we are grateful for the mining opportunities that we have been given, said Conrad Mudzengi an artisanal miner at Wander Mine Shurugwi.

Another Artisanal mine in Mvuma( Chirimhanzu Zibagwe Constituency) Raymond Mbofana also commended the leadership of Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.

We were allocated mining claims in the Mhou Nyikavanhu area some were also given mining machinery and claims from Siso mine, Bendigo and Zepline mines.

This has gone a long way in creating employment and poverty alliviation in our area, Said Mbofana.

This move by Zanu-PF youths to reaffirm their support to the party and the President is evidence enough that the ruling party will gunner more than 5million votes in the upcoming 2023 plebiscite.

Bafana Bafana Coach Praises National Sports Stadium Turf

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says he was surprised by the perfect condition of the National Sports Stadium pitch.

The Harare venue will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Warriors this afternoon.

Speaking to the press in the capital on Thursday, Broos feared that the pitch might not be up to the desired standards, having watched previous games played at the stadium.

“First of all, I am surprised by the pitch,” the gaffer said. “I saw a few games of Zimbabwe from the past, and the pitch was very bad, but now it is fantastic. I am happy about that.”

On their opponents’ squad, Bross said: “A few weeks ago when we started preparing the team for this important match, we knew that it was going to be a tough game and today is not only tough, but it is also risky.

“It is risky because we know that Zimbabwe at the moment has problems with the release of players, and that means some of their important players won’t be here for this match.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

ZESA Holdings Rehiring Former Engineers

By A Correspondent- National power utility, Zesa Holdings, has started rehiring some of its former engineers as consultants to improve the country’s power supply.

Zesa executive chairman Sydney Gata yesterday confirmed the appointment of five former employees, adding that the company would continue to lure more experienced former technocrats.

Zimbabwe was in the last years hard hit by brain drain that saw skilled personnel leaving for greener pastures, and Zesa was not spared.

Over 400 of the power utility’s former workers are now in South Africa working for the neighbouring country’s power giants, Eskom, while dozens are in the United Kingdom, Australia, among others countries.

“I have an unflinching determination to deploy Zimbabwean professionals to come back and develop their country as this is how many economies have developed,” Gata said.

“We shall be putting more detailed developmental plans in line with the aspirations of the National Development Strategy (NDS)1 and Vision 2030. The irony is that, there is no noise when expatriates are hired, but when we look at our very own nationals,” he added.

He said the company was looking up to skilled locals in their quest to establish a projects department, protection department and the operations and maintenance of Hwange and other power stations.

“We are seeking for qualified Zesa people to come and take up these positions so as to enable universal access.”

Gata also confirmed that the appointments were in line with the laws of the country as they went through the Procurement Regulatory Authority (PRAZ) approvals.

“In terms of corporate governance, we are well-educated on this and post the forensic audit, we are now graduates of corporate governance and we followed all the PRAZ procedures. Each and every one of the appointees had attained the minimum qualifications of being a Zesa director and we will continue to engage only people who left Zesa without any issues or incidents,” the Zesa boss said.

“We have the commitment to bring back our people under the new dispensation and meet the targets of the NDS 1 and Vision 2030 for the benefit of the generality of Zimbabweans.”

Among the rehired consultants is Itai Utah, who Gata said is coming back from the United States and will be responsible for innovation technical services while renowned engineer Cletus Nyachowe will be consulting on the international business front.

Tanda Chisi returns to Zesa from the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority to consult on power projects. According to sources, more engineers had expressed interest in rejoining the power company.

Strategist and human resources expert Fortune Sambo will consult on business services. He is also a board member of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.

The rehiring of skilled personnel is not unique to Zimbabwe as other countries in Europe are pursuing it under The grey beards concept.

Gata has also made internal transfers in the company to ensure efficient use of its human resource base.

“Zanu Pf Is Set To Rig The 2023 Elections”

By Nomusa Garikai- “People want to come back home and contribute in developing their nation but are being hindered by the ever rising cost of living, unstable economic environment, erratic power supply.

The financial muscle within the diaspora can make a difference in the Zimbabwean political discourse only if they are allowed to have a say in the day to day of running the government,” argued Leonard Koni in his recent article

“The diaspora is very hungry for change and want the country to do better. Criticising the leadership does not amount to self hate.

“Zimbabweans in the diaspora have proved to be a force to reckon with. They want to be part and parcel of  this historical change.”

I totally agree with you, many Zimbabweans in the diaspora are desperate to see real change so they can finally go back to Zimbabwe. “Home is home, there is no place like home!” so goes the old adage. And it is true.

Of course, Zimbabweans in the diaspora, like many back home, know there will never be any meaningful economic change in Zimbabwe as long as Zanu PF remains in office and gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and lawlessness and tyrannical rule continue to rule the land.

It is no secret that most Zimbabweans in the diaspora blame the de facto Zanu PF dictatorship for the nation’s troubles and, naturally, these men and women will never vote for Zanu PF, come the elections. Of course, Zanu PF knows that and, more pointedly, know the party will not find it as ease to rig the diaspora vote as the local vote. And so, it was no surprise to hear Patrick Chinamasa, Acting National Political Commissar, confirm that Zanu PF will not be granting Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote in the coming 2023 elections.

It was President Mnangagwa himself who said Zimbabweans in the diaspora will vote in 2023. He made the promise during his September 2018 visit to New York for the annual UN General Assembly Heads of State and Government jamboree.

He was desperate to win some political legitimacy given Zimbabwe had just gone through the July 2018 elections which anyone with any democratic credentials had dismissed as a farce. The regime had denied Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote and had failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters’ roll!

So when push came to shove, Mnangagwa could not honour his promise to restore the right of Zimbabweans in the diaspora to a meaningful vote. His desire to retain his iron grip on political power by rigging the elections had the better of him.

What is really disheartening is the lack of common sense by Zimbabweans in the diaspora and at home who bury their heads in the sand and refuse to see the sheer futility of participating in these flawed and illegal elections. Beside denying 3 million plus Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote, or 30% plus of the eligible electorate; Zanu PF has 1001 other vote rigging shenanigans.

How can an election process in which 30% plus of the electorate are denied the vote be legal, free, fair and credible?

Zanu PF is set to rig the 2023 elections just as blatantly as the party rigged the 2018, 2013, etc. elections. And by participating in these flawed and illegal elections the nation will give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy, again for the umpteenth time!

“The government must allow the voice of the diaspora to be heard and not not  denying them the chance to vote,” argued Koni.

After 41 years of rigged elections one would think that by now the penny would have finally dropped that this Zanu PF regime cares more about rigging elections and staying in power at all costs and does not give a damn about respecting the people’s freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful vote and even the right to life.

There will be no meaningful change in Zimbabwe until Zimbabweans open their eyes and minds to the reality that Zimbabwe is not a healthy and functioning democratic nation but rather a de facto one-party dictatorship, a pariah state.

If we want meaningful economic and political change then we must first implement the democratic reforms designed to dismantle the dictatorship and stop the vote rigging. To pretend we can have meaningful change and still have the corrupt and tyrannical dictatorship, especially after 41 years of rigged elections, is insane, to say the least!

Teachers Blast Online Recruitment System

By A Correspondent- Qualified but unemployed teachers have criticised the online teacher recruitment system saying it overlooked those who completed their studies a few years ago in favour of recent graduates.

This comes after the government released a list of 3 816 educators recruited by the Public Service Commission (PSC) to serve in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

Some unemployed teachers said the online system disadvantaged those who had graduated earlier, as their details were not captured.

One of the aggrieved unemployed teachers told CITE that he graduated in 2019 and registered in December of the same year but is yet to be offered a job by the government. Said the teacher:I graduated from the United College of Education in 2019 with a Diploma in Education specialising in Early Child Development.

I registered in December when registration opened and all those who I registered with have been employed including applicants who graduated later than me yet my name should be on the system.

I have been to the education office in Bulawayo, travelled all the way to Maphisa in Matobo and Plumtree to register but we are always told to come register and update our details.

Before the online system was introduced, unemployed teachers would submit their certification documents at their respective district or provincial education offices.

In an interview with CITE, Director of Communications and Advocacy in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Taungana Ndoro, said there were a number of fundamentals that were factored so it was unfair to criticise the recruitment system. Ndoro said:

Did these teachers do the same subjects, did they ask to be deployed in the same area, which districts or provinces did they sign for. All these are factors that come into play.

He stressed that the government could not hire all the unemployed teachers as there were few vacancies.

Said Ndoro:

You must investigate how many vacancies we have and the number of unemployed teachers.

There are about 20 000 to 30 000 unemployed teachers out there yet the ministry only has 3 000 vacancies, how do you expect us to take them all?.

What if the ‘lucky ones’ also applied several times before. As I said there are fundamentals that are considered when applicants apply.

Those who apply should not despair; their turn will come and will be taken if they are still interested.

Ndoro said that the online system was centralised at the head office and managed jointly by the PSC, adding it was “very unlikely” that it could be manipulated.

CIO Boss Distances Self From Farm Grab

By A Correspondent- The Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) deputy director-general Gatsha Mazithulela distanced himself from influencing the seizure of Kershelmar Farms (Private) Limited in Matabeleland North through a notice of opposing papers filed at the High Court.

Mazithulela was represented by Mlotshwa and Maguwudze of Titan Law firm which sought to have the High Court dismiss the application with costs.

The CIO boss was cited as the fourth respondent in a declaratory order filed on July 23 by Webb Low and Barry legal firm on behalf of Osisa director Siphosami Malunga together with two partners.

The applicants accused Mazithulela of influencing the government to seize the farm after he tried with no success to force his way into the owner-ship structure of Kershelmar Farm better known as Esidakeni Farm. However, through his opposing papers filed on August 30, the CIO boss denied the allegations and stated that he has no interest in acquiring the farm.

Mazithulela said he was “invited” by the applicants in 2016 to be part of the consortium which was to acquire the farm.

Mazithulela, a former National University of Science and Technology (Nust) pro-vice chancellor, described the applicants, Zephania Dhlamini, a senior lecturer at Nust, Malunga and businessman Charles Moyo as colleagues he used to share cordial relations with.

“For the record, I wish to state from the outset that I have no interest in acquiring any portion of Kershelmar Farm and have never been offered any letters on the same. My alleged interest in acquiring the farm, only exists in the fertile imagination of the applicants,” charged Mazithulela in his opposition papers.

“The material omission, done so deliberately in my view, is that first applicant (Dhlamini), neglects to state that I was actually part of the original consortium seeking to acquire the farm he mentions as far back as 2016. It must be noted that first applicant was a colleague of mine at the National University of Science and Technology. I am no stranger to him or the second (Malunga) and third (Moyo) applicants. We knew each other well.”

The CIO boss said their difference arose when he pointed out that they needed to acquire the farm lawfully and subsequently pulled out of the consortium after the partners refused to obtain a certificate of no interest from the government.

“Our point of difference, and hence my pulling out of the consortium during this period, was that it was I, who insisted that any intended acquisition of a farm needed to comply fully with the laws of Zimbabwe, in particular the obtaining of a certificate of no interest from the government,” he said.

“That advice was reiterated to them in our various WhatsApp conversations, some of which are attached to applicants’ founding papers. The applicants did not wish to follow the dictates of the law. I left them to their own devices.”

The applicants indicated that they acquired all shares of Kershelmar Farms which was the registered owner of two pieces of land, namely Subdivision A of Subdivision B of Umguza Block measuring 195 hectares and, Subdivision C of Umguza Block measuring 358 hectares for US$248 500.

Mazithulela questioned the legality of the acquisition of the farm as the applicants’ papers do not show their compliance with Section 4(1) of the Land Acquisition (Disposal of Rural Land) Regulations 1999.

Section 10 of the same Lands Acquisition law states that “any transfer of the land or shares effected in contravention of these regulations shall be void”.

“That the purported purchase of shares in Kershelmar Farms (Private) Limited by the above applicants is void it follows that they cannot be said to be lawful directors or shareholders of fourth respondent (applicant -Kershelmar).

“The agreement is illegal. The transfer of shares in the company to them is void. They are therefore not shareholders and cannot enforce any right, let alone bring any application before this court in that capacity.

“Likewise their appointment as directors of the company as a consequence of the purported acquisition of shares in Kershelmar Farm pursuant to an agreement that is void, is also a nullity. As such they are not lawful directors of Kershelmar. They cannot bring proceedings on behalf of the company …,” reads the opposing papers.

The fourth responded argued that a corporate entity such as Kershelmar can only institute legal proceedings through its duly appointed agents by way of a board resolution resolving to do so.

The opposing papers cite that there is no board resolution in the applicant’s papers from Kershelmar, which is the fourth applicant, resolving to institute legal proceedings or empowering any individual to do so.

Mazithulela through his legal team went on to argue that the purported purchase of the farm was and is a ruse because there is also no evidence to suggest that any Capital Gains Tax (CGT) or its assessment was ever carried out by Zimra in respect of the any CGT payable before the transfer of shares. He pointed out that exchange control approvals would have been required in respect of the intended acquisition since it’s implied that the beneficial holder of the shares – Jeffry Swindels – is a non-Zimbabwean resident.

The fourth respondent further advised the court to summon Swindels in the legal proceedings and corroborate whether he sold the shares to the applicants as the sale agreement attached to the founding papers is missing several critical pages.

Mazithulela also accused the applicants of masterminding a media onslaught against his personal and professional character.

‘Stop Punishing Passengers- Address Root Cause’

Ever since the introduction of ZUPCO as the sole mass public transporter in Zimbabwe, the MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa had warned the government of the dire consequences of this unreasonable move.

Consequences of monopolisising the transport sector more so with an inept government controlled company with a deep history of failure were foreseeable from the start.

ZUPCO is not not capable to serve the growing mass travellers both intra and inter city.

The failure by ZUPCO to serve the public has created an opportunity for private players to serve the needy travellers. Most of these private players have always been registered as Transporters but have been pushed out of business at the introduction of ZUPCO as the sole transporter.

What government needs to realise is that, the ZUPCO registered vehicles are too few as compared to the demand by travellers. This therefore means that faced with a crippling shortage of transport, travellers will resort to private players.

In an attempt to curb the spread of the deadly Covid disease, a people centred government would have allowed registered private transporters to ferry people under a regulated environment which includes :

1- Reduced number of passengers in order to allow for social distancing. Three quarters of normal carrying capacity is recommended.

  1. Regular sanitization of the vehicle at the end of each trip.
  2. Insistence of masks on all passengers on board.

The insistence of government on the current ZUPCO model where in the buses are always over Loaded and do not observe any Covid protocol simply corroborates the fact that the ZUPCO initiative is one among many of the looting vehicles by close ascosiates to Zanupf leadership. It’s not about the people but always about profiteering at every opportunity.
Demanding fines from passengers of private vehicles is an unimaginable act from a careless government which do not deserve any day longer in Office.

Zvimba Chief Killed By Corona While Trying To Exhume Mugabe’s Corpse

Police can confirm that the man shot and killed by police officers in the Countdown Supermarket in LynnMall was under Police surveillance because of concerns about his violent, extremist views.

The individual entered the Countdown Supermarket at LynnMall at around 2.30pm today. Inside the store, we believe this man took a knife from one of the supermarket shelves and attacked shoppers.

Covert Police Specialist Tactics Group (STG) staff, who had been surveilling and following the man as closely as possible without detection, immediately responded to the attack (within around 60 seconds). The Police staff challenged the man and diverted his attention. He charged at them with the knife and the officers shot him. He died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this event and we are confident this man acted alone.

Six people were injured in the attack. Three people received critical injuries and were taken to Auckland City Hospital. A fourth person is in a serious condition, and a fifth was taken to hospital in a moderate condition. A sixth victim was transported to Waitakere Hospital with moderate injuries.

The attacker was under constant surveillance and was today observed leaving his Glen Eden property and travelling to the supermarket, as he had done previously without incident.

Our Police staff acted quickly and with great courage to stop this man and prevent any further harm to members of the public. I want to acknowledge this quick response and the bravery of the Police staff who responded. I also want to acknowledge all the people who offered assistance at the scene.

Our thoughts are with the victims of today’s attack, their families and those who were caught up in this horrific event. People have an absolute right to feel safe going about their normal activities.

The scene is currently locked down and will be the subject of an extensive scene examination. We are also in the process of compiling witness information and collecting CCTV footage.

Today’s events will now be the subject of investigations by the IPCA and Coroner. The investigations will look into the circumstances of this event and what has occurred.

Police will continue to have a high presence in the area and will be conducting a number of reassurance patrols over the coming period. We want to assure the community that these were the actions of a lone individual with a violent extremist ideology. He did not represent any New Zealand community and responsibility must lie with him alone.

Police will be ensuring support is available to anyone affected by today’s event. Anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not spoken to Police is asked to contact Police on 105 quoting OPERATION RALLY.

“Danger Ahead”: Prof Ngwenya ssues Warning

By A Correspondent- Zimbabwe may experience unprecedented new coronavirus infections and high mortality rates from COVID-19 in the near future, a health official has warned.

Mpilo Central Hospital acting chief executive officer Professor Solwayo Ngwenya issued the chilling warning this Friday, without elaborating.

He tweeted:

Coronavirus: to all my close relatives, few friends, and close ardent followers I don’t how to reach you without causing alarm to the faint-hearted, but things look bleak ahead.

May you all remain focused on the virus wherever you are. The signals show terrible danger ahead.

The country is currently registering declining infections, deaths and test positivity rates, which has resulted in the reopening of schools and resumption of sporting activities across the country.

In its COVID-19 situation report for 02 September 2021, the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) reported 158 new cases, 11 deaths and 670 recoveries.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zimbabwe has recorded 125 118 cumulative cases, 114 197 recoveries, and 4 449 total deaths.

Professor Ngwenya’s warning comes after the government resolved to reopen schools for all learners on Monday, 6 September 2021.

Teachers’ unions have, however, warned that schools may turn into coronavirus super spreaders, with slightly more than 5 per cent of the educators having been vaccinated against the virus.

“These Small Political Parties Are Nothing But Pressure Groups”

Manyara Irene Muyenziwa

By Ndaba Nhuku- Zimbabwe is overcrowded with “know it all” and “I want to be president of my party” individuals.

This is what has derailed the liberation of the country from Zanu thuggery. Everyone thinks they know about politics better than the next person. Everyone wants to be president of their own party.

Zanu solidifies around one candidate when the moment comes. And our Opposition will be 20 plus with some having family members only as party members!!

Recently we have Manyara Irene Muyenziwa who was live-streamed by ZimEye whilst launching her own party. God help us.

She is the President of the party, FORUS, yet she is based in the UK and just flew to Zimbabwe to launch her party. What an insult to the voters!

She is detached from the voters and their issues. All she wants is to be part of Polad or get donations from naive Western donors who think it pays being a female leading a political party in Zim.

How many parties do we now have that were born from the original MDC all because of the poverty of leadership in politics? Not that Zanu provocateurs are blameless.

We have seen the MDC splinter like a pack of cards from 2005 up to now it continues to split and fight over the now corrupted name MDC.

The effect of so many parties is that they live the elections period harmonised Zanu scotfree to run the elections and win it’s votes whilst the Opposition splits its own among the 20 parties.

It also causes animosity among those who should be united eyeing the State House. The Opposition will remain as the Opposition forever of it doesn’t learn from others.

It’s time MDCs leaders reflected and downsized their egos and came together to deal with Zanu.

Other small family parties can become pressure groups and focus on local or specific group issues.

They should leave the political arena to those who can handle it!

Zimbabwe needs to be liberated from Zanu Pf please so stop the stupid politics of party forming!

VP Chiwenga Impostor Treated For Free

By A Correspondent- A 35 year old Harare man was treated for free at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after he misrepresented as Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga.

Katiyo was remanded to today for bail ruling.

It is alleged that between August and September 1 this year, Katiyo visited Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and Avenues Clinic to seek medical attention for his headache problem.

Commutters Cry Foul Over Police Clampdown On Mushikashika

By A Correspondent- Commuters have described as unfair the decision by the police to fine members of the public who board buses, kombis and Mushikashika not registered under the Zimbabwe United Passengers Company (ZUPCO) franchise.

Police recently announced that commuters who board non-ZUPCO vehicles risk fines of $2 000 each, as they step up operations against errant buses, commuter omnibus and private car operators who continue defying COVID-19 regulations.

But commuters have attributed the boarding of unregistered buses, kombis and mushikashika which are operating illegally to the lack of ZUPCO buses and kombis across the country.

In separate interviews with the state media, the commuters said the fines were unfair as police must assess the transport situation before coming up with such a punitive measure.

They said another reason why they used the mushikashika was that they would want to get home before the curfew kicks in.

Beauty Maphosa said: “The police must understand that there are not enough Zupco buses for everyone and that not all of us have private vehicles, so they must scrap the fines and encourage those who are hitchhiking to follow the COVID-19 health guidelines”.

Soneni Matore said:

“The reason why we go to mushikashika is that there will be no ZUPCO buses or kombis at the rank. The other thing is that when a Zupco bus leaves, it takes more than an hour for another bus to come and pick up passengers.”

Jabulani Mhlanga: “We do not want to board pirate taxis, but we have no choice otherwise we will be stranded in town until late. If you notice, after 7 pm you rarely find any ZUPCO bus or kombi in town, so the only available alternative is mushikashika.”

Knowledge Mutasa said: “If they want people to use authorised ZUPCO buses, the Government should extend the curfew hours maybe to 8 pm and increase the number of ZUPCO buses and kombis. If they do so, I am sure all passengers will be in the ranks without fear of being caught offside after curfew hours.”

“All Chiefs Who Sold Out Praising ED”

By Israel Dube- “You can never make Ndebeles dogs. You may wipe them out but the children of the Stars can never be dogs.”  Matabele Spokesman, Somabhulani Dlodlo spoke these words warning the white supremacists in 1896.

We repeat them today, this time warning President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the black Shona supremacist and genocidist.

He believes that Matabeles are dogs to be killed, buried in shallow graves, thrown into mine shafts and caves to be exhumed and reburied by the perpetrator after 37 years.

If the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, is still seeing cockroaches and dogs when he looks at people of Matabeleland, at this time and hour then he is making a terrible mistake that he and all other genocidists and supporters will regret for generations and generations.

People of Matabeleland are not dogs or cockroaches that do not  have rights and cannot speak for themselves as Matabeleland genocide perpertrators, their supporters and children believe.

All survivors of Matabeleland genocide of 1980-87 have the right to know why more than 40 000 of their relatives that included children, women and old people were dastardly killed and buried in the shallow graves, others thrown in the caves and mine shafts.
They have the right to decide which route to take to find justice and closure regarding Matabeleland genocide.

We received quite disturbing information from various Chiefs who are vehemently opposed to the bribes that were offered by Emmerson Mnangagwa government to Matebele chiefs to co operate and proclaim to all and sundry that Matebele genocide has been successfully resolved by the Zimbabwe government.

At a meeting held at State House in Bulawayo in October last year, each Chief received US $500 to push Mnangagwa’ s evil Matabeleland genocide agenda. US $500 is a price of a donkey in Matabeleland.

In the last meeting held last month with Matabeleland Chiefs, President Emmerson Mnanagagwa  promised and offered  Matebele chiefs who would co operate with the government to claim that Matebele genocide committed by Zimbabwe National Army Fifth Brigade has been resolved were to be given US$100 000 and 50 herd of cattle each.

The Matebele chiefs who released this information are not happy with some of their colleagues who are keen to accept the bribes which was never made public with the other resolutions which are as follows:
a) each chief will spearhead the resolution of gukurahundi  (word used to cover up Matabeleland genocide) in his or her area of jurisdiction.
b) The process should be victim centered and will also involve key stakeholders engagement and that the gukurahundi issue must not be tribalised in order to foster national building and national healing.
C) issuance of documentation of birth certificate, national IDs and death certificates.
d) look into issues of underdevelopment and marginalisation

e) promote national healing, national reconciliation and national building
f) Provide counselling and Psychological support
g) consultation of victims
h) exhumations, reburials and memorials
i) reparation and compensation j) pensions, free education, social welfare and health services
k) exhumations and reburials should be resolved on a case by case basis custom centric and relevant Chief should give guidance and directions
l) social security benefits to be resolved on case by case basis m) The issue is traditional and should be dealt with by traditional leaders.
 n) The Chiefs who would  support the above resolutions would each be  given US$100 000  and 50 herd of cattle and enjoy a personal handshake from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

MLO questions why this last resolutions is being kept private by President Mnanagagwa government ?

Had it not being the MLO Central Intelligence Bureau and confirmed by  patriotic Matebele chiefs  who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals, the public would not be aware that some of their chiefs have sold  out.MLO would like to thank the patriotic Chiefs who made this resolution known to us and we make it known to the public.

All the chiefs who have sold out would soon be heard praising President Emmerson Mnangagwa for successfully bringing closure to Matebele genocide.

President Mnangagwa emphasized that the process will be led by chiefs and their affected communities. He also made it clear that a one size fits all approach would be inappropriate for this program. And that as a way forward, chiefs are to go back to their respective areas to consult on the issues raised. Whichever chief is ready, Mnangagwa will quickly deploy resources to his or her area.

We have no choice but to view him who washes the blood stained knife of a murderer in the same light with the murderer. We reject the perpetrator’s resolution for Matabeleland genocide with contempt it deserves. It is a waste of time , energy and donor funds. We will fight it with every weapon we lay our hands on.

If Mnangagwa can replace the people’s chiefs with his own, The Republic of Matabeleland would not fail to replace Mnangagwa’s chiefs that sellout on their people with people’s chiefs that will stand for the true cultural interests of the people of Matabeleland.

Let it be known to the Shona supremacist of Zimbabwe, the chiefs that have accepted blood money from the government of Zimbabwe and the world at large that MLO would not accept the resolution of terrified perpetrators that fear the split of Zimbabwe and Matabeleland genocide justice. It is a waste of time, energy and donor funds.

If we accept this evil nonsense it will mean that we accept that Matabele lives are cheap. And that successive Shona governments must continue murdering Matabeles wantonly as long as they will dig the bodies and rebury them after 37 years.

Yes it was President Mnangagwa, the perpetrator of Matabeleland genocide  telling Matabeleland traditional leaders and the genocide victims who should lead the process, how they should do it and what is appropriate and  what is not appropriate. This confirms that these resolutions are the perpetrator’s resolutions made in Harare and imposed on the victims using Matabeleland traditional chiefs.

Chiefs have been chosen because they receive benefits and their monthly salaries from government putting them in a vulnerable position to be manipulated by the Shona supremacist government to facilitate their evil Matabeleland genocide agenda.

Some of the chiefs who received bribes from the Zimbabwe government are now compromised that they do not have a say on any resolution. Theirs is to accept perpetrator resolutions from the Government of Zimbabwe and implement them without a word.

We hold firmly to our demands to the government of Zimbabwe ie the restoration of Matabeleland State as at 3 November 1893 and US$ 100 billion as compensation of Matabeleland genocide of 1980- 87.

In the same way the Taliban returned to Afghanistan so it shall be when MLO comes back to Matabeleland.

Fireworks At Zanu Pf Meeting

By A Correspondent- Tempers flared at a Zanu-PF meeting in Manicaland on Saturday with party provincial chairman Mike Madiro exchanging harsh words with Mutare district co-ordination committee (DCC) chairperson Benali Tard.

The meeting was meant to prepare for this year’s Zanu-PF national conference to be held in Bindura, Mashonaland Central province.

In the no-holds barred meeting, Yard reportedly told Madiro in the face that he did not like him.

The exchanges took place at a time the party is engaged in serous factional fights in the province ahead of the polls to select a new provincial executive.

Yard almost walked out of the meeting protesting against “unfair treatment” from Madiro, before some party members intervened and stopped him.

The meeting was meant to set up sub-committees to organise the conference slated for next month.

Madiro convened a meeting with all Manicaland DCC chairpersons to set up the sub-committees, but Yard was left out.

Sources who attended the emotionally-charged meeting said Yard was taken aback after his name was omitted from the list of DCC chairpersons that were to deliberate on the sub-committees.

The insider said despite Yard being the host DCC chairman, he was allegedly invited late for the meeting.

“It is true that Yard confronted Madiro and openly told him that he (Madiro) does not like him. Benali said as the host DCC chairman, he was not getting the respect he deserved from Madiro and that he had been omitted from a sub-committee list which had all Manicaland DCC chairpersons,” the insider said.

Zanu-PF Manicaland spokesperson Oliver Mandipaka yesterday confirmed the clashes.

“I can confirm that Cde Benali Yard was a bit disturbed and wanted to seek guidance from the party leaders,” Mandipaka said.

“Chairman Madiro managed to calm him down. Yes, he had some issues in Mutare district that he wanted to seek guidance and justification.”

He added: “You know people want to take things into their own context.”

The meeting was attended by some senior Zanu-PF officials, including former Agriculture minister Joseph Made.

Mwonzora Warns President Chamisa

By A Correspondent- Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has been sternly warned by former colleagues to respect other political parties who are part of the MDC Alliance formation and stop masquerading as the president of the coalition.

After losing a Supreme Court battle over his legitimacy leader of the MDC-T last year, Chamisa reverted to be president of the MDC Alliance, a grouping of political parties that contested the 2018 elections.

However, a faction of the MDC Alliance parties led by Douglas Mwonzora president of the MDC-T has laid claim to the Alliance name and this week issued a stern warning to Chamisa not to masquerade as president of the coalition.

In a statement Thursday, Stephen Mazanza, the ZIMPF spokesperson who also doubles up as the MDC Alliance director responsible for re-engagement, accused Chamisa of being “disrespectful”.

“Mr. Chamisa it’s time you respect us? Respect the ZIMPF, respect Ambassador (Agrippa) Mutambara as a freedom fighter, respect your party you claim to lead in isolation,” said Mazanza.

“Zimbabwe is tired of all this nonsense, the ZIMPF, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Zanu Ndonga, MDC-T, MCD, and MDC Green are signatories of the MDC Alliance not (Tendai) Biti or Welshmen Ncube alone.”

Biti and Ncube are former presidents of the PDP and MDC Green respectively.

“So, I am telling you now to stop misleading the nation you are MDC Alliance. Stop now!” continued Mazanza.

“If you really want this Alliance, come home. There’s room for everyone but on condition, you know who’s in charge (seven parties) led by Hon Sen President D Mwonzora. Finish and clear!

“You guys are not bigger than Zimbabwe, not bigger than the MDC Alliance, not bigger than our individual parties. If you are serious about MDC Alliance, come home, and join the Alliance.

“You claim to be for the people, I challenge you to prove that you are not after power, prove you are not after wealth, prove the people come first.”

However, Chamisa’s spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere hit back accusing Mwonzora and his colleagues of being puppets of the ruling Zanu-PF.

“For now we note that Mr. Mwonzora is masquerading as the MDC Alliance leader despite the fact that he caused the illegal recall of elected officials on the pretext that they were members of the MDC Alliance,” she said.

Added Mahere: “The dishonest is palpable. What is clear is that he does not have a mandate from the people. Nobody voted for him. Nobody will vote for him. The people know the MDC Alliance is led by the people’s president, Nelson Chamisa that contested as a political party in 2018, winning over two million votes.

“Mr. Mnangagwa and his regime are plagued by an illegitimacy crisis flowing from that disputed election. The illegitimate Zanu-PF regime is at pains to destroy our party using their self-created puppet opposition. They stole our funds; they violently took our building (Harvest House), they tried to supplant us. They will not succeed. The people will fight back.”

She said the latest “theft of the MDC Alliance’s name by Zanu-PF acting through its puppet opposition is both a continuation of the electoral theft that took place in 2018. It’s a clear assault on the will of the people. We are not moved by this because the people know their leaders.”

Woman Dies After Falling From Tree While Fetching Wild Fruits

By A Correspondent- The need to fend for family ended in tragedy for a poor Binga woman who fell of a tree and died while gathering wild fruits.

Sophia Mudimba (61) of Nampande village in Chief Sinakoma’s area died last week Wednesday allegedly after falling from a busika/mpapanyuka tree.

The indigenous tree bears wild fruits that are widely eaten and sold in Binga.

Busika is one of the sources of livelihood for poverty-stricken Binga villagers who gather the fruits and sell them to travellers.

Mudimba was in the company of Rebecca Muleya aged 63 and a juvenile boy when they set off to gather busika in the bush.

They went to a nearby bush to gather wild fruits and all climbed a tree before Mudimba lost balance and fell to the ground.

Nsenga area councillor Naison Mugande confirmed Mudimba’s death.

“They left home on August 25 going to gather busika. The villagers say she and two others climbed a tree when she suddenly fell and became unconscious. Villagers rushed her to Senga clinic but she was dead before they could get there,” he said.

Mugande said Mudimba was buried at her homestead last Thursday.

Police said no foul play was suspected and postmortem was waived by Binga magistrate Urgent Vundla.

Arrest Warrant For Netsai Marova

By A Correspondent- Human rights activist and MDC Alliance national youth deputy organising secretary, Netsai Marova, has been issued with an arrest warrant after she allegedly failed to abide by her bail conditions imposed by the court.

Marova is facing a number of criminal charges at the Harare Magistrates Court.

She is jointly charged with MP for Harare West, Joana Mamombe (MDC Alliance) and MDC Alliance national youth assembly vice-chairperson Cecilia Chimbiri on allegations of violating COVID-19 lockdown measures and faking their abductions sometime last year.

Prosecutor Michael Reza on Thursday said Marova defied the court order on her bail conditions and failed to report to the police.

He said this while making an application for revocation of Mamombe’s bail on allegations of failing to report to the police on 27 August.

Lawyer Alec Muchadehama, who appeared on Mamombe’s behalf with Jeremiah Bamu, told the court that Marova was not issued with a warrant of arrest.

Government Speaks On Mathema’s “Death”

By A Correspondent- The government has opened up on the rumours of the death of Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Cain Mathema.

News of Mathema’s alleged death started circulating on the social media after reports said he had been airlifted to Harare from the Covid-19 treatment facility at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after his condition deteriorated.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson Taungana Ndoro, denied reports that Mathema had died of Covid-19 complications.

Ndoro said such reports were false. “It’s not true; he’s fit as a fiddle,” he said.

When pressed on the minister’s current state of health, Ndoro said, “We have not seen him yet. As he had been not feeling well.”

However, Ndoro could not say what Mathema had been suffering from.

“That confirmation as to whether he has Covid-19 can only come from their Doctor as there is the Doctor and Patient Confidentiality to say whether one has Covid-19, Hypertension or AIDS.”

New Zealand Terror Attack: Zimbabwean Woman Walks-Out-Alive As 6 Injured

By A Correspondent | New Zealand Police Friday afternoon shot and killed a man who entered a New Lynn supermarket and injured a reported 6 people.

A Zimbabwean woman, one of the lucky survivors, briefly spoke to ZimEye.

3 people were at the time of writing in critical condition, 1 very serious, and both taken to Auckland Hospital. One was in moderate condition and taken to Waitakere Hospital. The 6th who was in moderate condition was taken to Middlemore Hospital.

The incident happened at a supermarket at Countdown Lynnmall, New Lynn, New Zealand.

The attacker had at the time of writing been shot dead by police officers. Armature footage has a round of gunshots being offloaded purportedly onto the man as he was out down by officers.

A Zimbabwean citizen trapped in a pharmacy across the wall briefly spoke ZimEye.

Police officers were at the time of writing still inspecting the shopping mall after the suspected terrorist was shot dead.

The number of people injured could not be ascertained at the time of writing.

The Zim citizen who declined to be identified told ZimEye, “I’m safe but very shaken by the sound of gunshots, we are waiting for the police to escort us out.” She added saying:

“I’m with other customers and staff from Chemist Warehouse. We are locked up in the shop waiting for the police to escort us out”

Mugabes Celebrate Bob Body Exhumation Attempt Frontman’s Death

By A Correspondent- The late President Robert Mugabe’s family has celebrated the death of Chief Beperere, who was behind the exhumation of the body of the former ruler.

Top SA Medical Academic Clears Air On Covid-19 Vaccine Fears

By A Correspondent- Questions and misinformation are going around through the social media about the Covid-19 vaccines confusing the public.

Below are facts on Covid-19 vaccines by a renowned Virologist at Rhodes University (South Africa) and member of the Provincial Covid-19 Expert Panel, Professor Rosemary Dorrington.

Question: *“I’ve heard that vaccines can alter my DNA and that they are not even officially approved. And seeing that the vaccine is likely to make me infertile, why take the chance?”*

*Prof responds:*

There is an ever-increasing number of myths and misinformation doing the rounds, and I am here to set some of the facts straight. Let’s take some of the most common concerns and dig a little deeper for each one.

*1. The vaccine will not prevent me from dying – FALSE*

There have been “breakthrough cases” where vaccinated people contract

COVID-19. However, even with the Delta variant, vaccinated people are nine

times less likely to get infected, and most of these infections result in

asymptomatic or mild illness. The vaccines are more than 90% effective at

preventing severe illness and even more effective at preventing deaths from

COVID-19. There have been a small number of deaths, though, and the

evidence is that these were vaccinated people with serious co-morbidities

or that were immunocompromised, so they did not develop a strong enough

response to the vaccine.

And remember, breakthrough cases do not refer to people “dying from the

vaccine” as it is sometimes misrepresented in the media and social media.

Breakthrough cases refer to vaccinated people who get infected. And 90% of

these infections cause asymptomatic or mild illness.

*2. The vaccines inject you with the virus – FALSE*

The vaccines we are using in South Africa right now do not contain

SARS-CoV-2 virus. They only contain a small part of the spike protein – one

of 25 proteins produced by the virus – that stimulates your immune system

to make antibodies to fight off a future infection. The Pfizer COVID-19

vaccine presents the cell with instructions (mRNA) to produce a part of the

spike protein that will build immunity. Over the past 200 years, vaccines

have reduced the morbidity and mortality of infectious diseases such as

smallpox, poliomyelitis, hepatitis B, measles, tetanus, whooping cough and

more recently, Ebola and Zika across the world.

*3. The vaccine alters your DNA – FALSE*

The Pfizer vaccine contains mRNA, which is short lived and does not alter

the DNA of human cells. This mRNA contains the instructions to make only

the coronavirus spike protein and it cannot move from one cell to another.

Also, it cannot get into the cell nucleus which is where the DNA is and

therefore it can’t interact with the DNA. I like to think of the vaccine

as an email message to your immune system that gets deleted after it has

been read by the cell.

*4. The vaccine can make your infertile – FALSE*

With more than 2 billion people already vaccinated worldwide, there is no

clinical evidence that the COVID vaccines affects fertility. Vaccine

monitoring has historically shown that side effects generally happen within

six weeks of receiving a vaccine dose. Millions of people have received

COVID-19 vaccines, and no negative long-term side effects have been

detected, including fertility. Studies showed an equal number of people

becoming pregnant in the vaccinated and unvaccinated groups.

In fact, a recent report using the v-safe safety monitoring system data

showed that 4,800 people had a positive pregnancy test after receiving a

first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (i.e., Pfizer).

Globally, we continue to closely monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

If scientists find a connection between a safety issue and a vaccine, the

regulators and the vaccine manufacturers will work toward an appropriate

solution to address the specific safety concern.

*5. The vaccine was approved under emergency conditions and is therefore not safe – FALSE*

Vaccines undergo rigorous trials to ensure they are safe and effective.

All vaccines go through a comprehensive approval process by medical

regulators to ensure that they are safe, even when being approved under

emergency conditions.

The fast development and approval of vaccines is an extraordinary feat

brought about by sharing of vital information between scientists and

pharmaceutical companies and this achievement is indeed worthy of

celebration. This has also been possible because we have learnt over many

decades how to make and test vaccines and we were able to take those

lessons and challenge ourselves to produce a vaccine much quicker.

While the specific COVID vaccine is relatively new, the technology (method

for delivering the spike protein) it uses is well-established with over 10

years of testing. So, the “vehicle” is well-tested and it’s only the

“cargo” that has changed.

The Pfizer vaccine was recently fully approved by the FDA and is no longer considered an “emergency” vaccine.

Government To Waiver School Fees For Teachers Children?

The government is planning to waiver fees for teachers’ children as part of measures to alleviate complaints of poor remuneration.

This move is contained in a report by Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Primary and Secondary education which focused on the welfare of teachers.

Presenting the report, Priscilla Mushonga, who chaired the committee said the Ministry of Finance has accepted the idea. She said:

As part of conditions of teachers, the Public Service Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education should introduce a tuition fee waiver for up to three children attending public schools per teacher by October 2021.

We are very excited about this particular issue because when we started having discussions with the Minister of Public Service, their initial response was to do it for everyone and not just teachers.

I must however say by the time we went to meet Minister Ncube, it was one of the recommendations that he immediately liked and said he would try and factor it into the budget.

Mushonga added that those that work for ZESA get free electricity and those that are in the medical field when they are going to hospitals, get a waiver.

She added that it would be unfair for teachers to teach other children yet their own children will not be able to go to school.

Teachers have been complaining and demonstrating against poor salaries and have been demanding the restoration of their 2018 salaries that were around US$500.

The government has been emphatic that it cannot give them their stated salaries suggesting that some monetary benefits can be extended to them.

The lowest-paid teacher earns a monthly salary of ZW$19 975 (US$245) while the highest-paid is getting US$281.- Open Council Harare

MDC Alliance Denounces Persecution Of Teachers

The education crisis won’t be resolved by arbitrary arrests and persecutions of our diligent educators, Mdc Alliance Namibia fumes!

02 September 2021

Mdc Alliance Namibia absolutely condemns the incessant persecution and torture of our diligent educators by the clueless Zanupf regime. Social democrats in Namibia are greatly infuriated and perturbed to witness the incarceration of innocent 11 teachers in Hwedza on Monday. In a purported new dispensation, citizens should be allowed to peacefully demonstrate and petition the status quo as a sure way of showing their disgruntlement. The Hwedza 11 were arbitrarily arrested for protesting against meagre salaries and atrocious working conditions. Zimbabwean teachers are struggling to pay school fees for their hapless children yet the satanic Zanupf regime expects them to teach other people’s off-springs.

The illegal arrest of our suffering and toiling teachers protesting against the “unsalted peanuts” they receive as salaries strongly confirm beyond any reasonable doubt that a new Great Zimbabwe is now imperative under the able-leadership of President Advocate Nelson Chamisa,”Wamba Dia Wamba”. The only panacea to socio-economic transformation is to register in our numbers now, vote and defend the vote in 2023. Mdc Alliance Namibia has a very serious message to all educators in Zimbabwe, our teachers have a tendency of sacrificing their VOTE by accepting petty jobs as polling officers. Teachers must smell the coffee and refuse to be used by Zanupf morons. Most teachers do not vote after getting jobs as polling officers far away from their branches.

Moreover, it must be categorically clear that voting is the only way of getting rid of these thugocrats. Voting is a non-negotiable right of every citizen. Teachers must learn to refuse deployments outside their branches or polling stations because their votes are very fundamental in transforming our motherland. Remember your right to complain against gross misgovernance manifesting in Zanupf can only be enjoyed by a voter. Our teachers must amalgamate so that they fight together against peaceful slavery. The persecution of our hardworking teachers epitomises Zanupf’s insatiable appetite for tormenting hapless citizens.

Social democrats in Namibia demand the respect of human rights and the rule of law in Zimbabwe. Teacher’s Unions must stop robbing our teachers without fair representation. Thanks to the consistent Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights for granting our teachers freedom after spending two days in the hell-hole custody. We strongly condemn Mr Mnangagwa’s insensitive government for turning rogue to innocent citizens who are peacefully and constitutionally demanding a living wage. Change seekers in Namibia rubbishes the promotion of kleptocracy by Zanupf, we demand a wholesale respect the rule of law and constitutionalism. #RegisterToVote #TeacherMunhuwo #NoToSlavesWages.

Moreso, the arbitrary arrest of the Hwedza 11 demonstrates that the Harare regime is not yet ready to open the much needed democratic space in the motherland. As Mdc Alliance Namibia we believe that Constitutional Democracy allows citizens to express themselves freely without fear of persecution by prosecution. We demand that Zanupf looters halt their weaponisation of the law to silence voices of dissent. Change agents in Namibia would like to urge all Zimbabweans across the globe to converge so that they can save the collapsing education sector. It is not a crime to demonstrate according to Section 65 of the 2013 constitution.

In a nutshell, Mdc Alliance Namibia encourages all teachers to continue piling pressure on the regime so that their livelihoods may improve. Teachers must register to vote and vote for our political mountain, President Advocate Nelson Chamisa. We need a God-fearing leader with the potential to put the economy on a sounder footing. As a district, we salute Artuz President Obert Masaraure and Secretary General Robson Chere for leading a vibrant teachers union that has demonstrated consistency in confronting the regime for a living wage since its inception. Our dream is to see all unions taking notes from the vibrant Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union(ARTUZ).

A New Zim Is A Must

Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance vice president Hon Tendai Biti has condemned the persecution of teachers by the Zanu PF regime.

11 teachers were arrested in Wedza on Monday for protesting at atrocious working conditions.

According to Hon Biti, the persecution of teachers is an indication of the regime’s penchant for tormenting hapless citizens.

“The arrest of 11 Hwedza teachers protesting deductions to their salaries confirms once more that under Mnangwagwa Zim has become a rogue kleptocratic State without respect to rule of lawA new consensus is desperately required. The status quo is not sustainable. A new Zim is a must…”

ARTUZ also condemned the persecution of its members by the regime.

“Wedza 11 teachers were arrested for participating in protests yesterday. We just sent a team to check on them so that we engage @ZLHRLawyers from an informed position on the charges. The education crisis wont be resolved by arrests and persecutions. #REDMONDAY #SaveOurEdicationZw.”

Knox Mtizwa, Butholezwe Ncube Test Positive For COVID-19

Two South African players who had been drafted into the Bafana Bafana team scheduled to travel to Zimbabwe for the FIFA World Cup Group C qualifier have tested positive for COVID-19.

Bafana Bafana will play the Warriors of Zimbabwe at National Sports Stadium in Harare on Friday, September 3, but they will be without Mamelodi Sundowns striker Thabiso Kutumela and overseas-based defender Thabang Phete.

Bafana doctor Tshepo Molobi confirmed that the two players tested positive after receiving the results. Molobi told the SAFA media department:

Unfortunately, we have to report the two COVID cases that we’ve got in camp. Remember we did a round of testing on Wednesday morning and we started getting results from last night. Remember, for a large group like this, it’s impractical to get the results all at once. We started getting the two flagged cases early in the morning. The earliest was Thibang Phete, who immediately isolated and later on, it emerged that Thabiso Kutumela also tested positive.

Of the 40 tests, those are the only two tests that came back positive. So, I can safely say that everybody else has tested negative.

Meanwhile, two Warriors players, Knox Mutizwa and Butholezwe Ncube have also dropped out of the match after testing positive for COVID-19.

Zimbabwe already had suffered another setback after United Kingdom-based players were barred from travelling to the Southern African country which is on the UK list of red zone countries.- Soccer Laduma

By A Correspondent- The government has opened up on the rumours of the death of Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Cain Mathema.

News of Mathema’s alleged death started circulating on the social median after reports said he had been airlifted to Harare from the Covid-19 treatment facility at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after his condition deteriorated.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson Taungana Ndoro, denied reports that Mathema had died of Covid-19 complications.

Ndoro said such reports were false.“It’s not true; he’s fit as a fiddle,” he said.

When pressed on the minister’s current state of health, Ndoro said, “We have not seen him yet as he had been not feeling well.”

However, Ndoro could not say what Mathema had been suffering from.

“That confirmation as to whether he has Covid-19 can only come from their Doctor as there is the Doctor and Patient Confidentiality to say whether one has Covid-19, Hypertension or AIDS.”

Zimbabwe’s 109th New Party With An Oily Face Leader Promises Better Democracy Than MDC Alliance, ZANU PF.

By Farai D Hove | The country’s 109th political party was announced on Thursday afternoon.

The new Freedom Of Rights Under Sovereignty is led by a female founder who spoke saying that her party is unique in that it is offering a different type of democracy better than other organisations before it. She responded to one of the media questions saying in full:

It’s called Forus. I think if you just listen to the name it just tells you what it’s about. Freedom of rights under sovereignty. What we’re trying to do is emancipate ourselves, amongst ourselves. YOU KNOW, we never thought that we would get to this point whereby another black man is enslaving another Blackman. That is what Forus is for.

We are here and make sure that freedom is propelled through from our youngsters, YOU KNOW, from somebody from being a baby, YOU KNOW we want them to learn what is freedom, what is democracy, so what we are going to bring for us is the proper true democracy so that will emancipate all Zimbabweans, so that they can reach out to the stars so that they can understand that YOU KNOW, it is doable.

I can do this I can open up my own business, I can do, I started off with nothing, YOU KNOW I never had what I have now, YOU KNOW, but I started from somewhere so I would like somebody else to have the same belief, to have the same freedom, to say that, you know what, I can make it…

Mwonzora Divides Town House

By A Correspondent-MDC-T leader, Douglas Mwonzora, has divided Harare City Council.

Councillors at Town House said Mwonzora is funding them to fight the Haare Mayor Jacob Mafume.

Mwonzora’s influence has resulted in the suspension of all the full council meetings.

These meetings have been shelved after some councillors refused or recognized councillor Jacob Mafume as the Mayor.

Mafume was suspended by Local Government Minister July Moyo last year pending the finalization of his trial in a case he is accused of criminal abuse of office after he illegally allocated two stands to his relatives.

He returned, arguing that his suspension has lapsed without any hearing, which entitles him to return to work.

Most councillors prefer Mafume but are siding with Mutizwa for fear of victimization from MDC-T President Douglas Mwonzora.

“We all want Mafume as the Mayor but it is difficult for us to side with him because Mwonzora’s axe will chop us”, said some councillors who refused to be named.

MDC-T has since the 2020 Supreme Court ruling on the MDC leadership crisis recalled several legislators and councillors (including 45 Harare councillors) for siding with Nelson Chamisa.

“Mafume insisted on chairing the meeting and we cannot allow that until his name has been cleared.
Two weeks ago, Council again failed to hold the meeting this time citing “the need for councillors to study and comprehend the full council minutes,” said Mutizwa.

Mutizwa was appointed acting Mayor following successive mayors’ arrest and recall, including Herbert Gomba and his deputy Enock Mupamawonde.

Bedridden Mathema Gets Death Wish Messages

By A Correspondent- No kind words are coming from the public to the Primary and secondary education minister Cain Mathema who is battling for his life at a private hospital in Harare.

Most people wishing Mathema’s death are those whose relatives were murdered by soldiers on the 1st of August 2018 in Harare.

Mathema, during that time, was the minister of Home Affairs and did not cause the arrest of the soldiers who committed those heinous crimes.

The cabinet minister’s health deteriorated at the weekend in Bulawayo, where he was receiving treatment for Covid-19 and was airlifted to Harare, where better health care facilities are available.

The 74-year-old has not been well for weeks now.

Arubi Upbeat Despite Crisis In Warriors Defence…

Veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi believes the Warriors can still kick-start their World Cup qualifying campaign with a victory tomorrow despite the ‘crisis’ in the team’s defence.

The regular central defence partnership of Teenage Hadebe and Jimmy Dzingai, will not be used as both players could not travel to Zimbabwe for Friday’s showdown against South Africa at the National Sports Stadium, due to Covid-19 restrictions and a club-hunting mission respectively.

That situation leaves coach Zdravko Logarusic with only Alec Mudimu as the only central defender to have done duty for Loga in the AFCON 2021 but Arubi believes it won’t determine the game’s result.

“People are talking about those that are not available and it’s a sad situation for them and for us. But there is nothing much that we can do. We need to focus on those that are here and try to encourage them,” he told NewsDay Sport.

“I have been watching those that are available and I think they are ready. Some of them have represented the team before and they have experience playing at this level. I’m 120% confident that they can deliver. I just hope that they will take this opportunity with both hands and play well,” added the former Dynamos goalkeeper.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Michael Reza Wants Joana Mamombe Imprisoned Again

The State through a prosecutor by the name Michael Reza and a ZRP overzealous Detective Inspector Chafa are now in the habit of misdirecting the courts for selfish ends.

Michael Reza

One of the trio, Hon. Joana Mamombe has been dragged again to court today for a flimsy and frivolous charge using an affidavit written by Detective Inspector Chafa who alleges that Mamombe failed to report at Harare Central police on Friday which however she did, under strenuous circumstances that should have been given audience and simply resolved.

The junior officers there had resolved everything but the aforementioned two overzealous political figures reversed the paper and moved over to create an allegation in order to imprison her.

So we are in court now Joana accompanied by Cecilia Chimbiri, Hon. Job Sikhala and the girls’ parents. The defense counsel is led by Alec Muchadehama. The Magistrate has now given the 6 of September 2021 for further proceedings and ruling at 14.15hrs. – Anonymous
