Basic First Aid

First aid should can be offered by anyone but ideally trained personnel to give first aid should offer first aid.

When offering first aid always consider your personal safety first.

Look out for any dangers and only act when you are confident it is safe to do so.

An unresponsive person is someone not moving or responding when you call them or when gently shaken.

Respiratory emergencies & CPR

Check if breathing by tilting their head back and looking and feeling for breaths.

When a person is unresponsive, their muscles relax and their tongue can block their airway so they can no longer breathe. Tilting their head back opens the airway by pulling the tongue forward. If they are breathing, you will see their chest moving and you may hear their breath or feel it on your cheek. If breathing, move on to step two.

Move them onto their side and tilt their head back. Putting them in this position with their head back helps keep their airway open. It ensures their tongue falls forward and blood and vomit drain out. It is sometimes called the “recovery position”.

Call for help or an ambulance as soon as possible.

If the patient needs CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), place the person on their back on a firm, flat surface and start giving chest compressions aiming for 30compressions in 1minute.

How to do CPR
Hand position: Two hands centered on the chest
Body position: Shoulders directly over hands; elbows locked
Depth: At least 5cm
Allow chest to return to normal position after every chest compression.

5 Give 2 rescue breaths (if equipment to do that available). Ensure each breath lasts about 1 second and makes the chest rise; allow air to exit before giving the next breath.

Gas leak, Fire & Burns

Turn off gas if safe to do
Evacuate the area immediately
Do not switch any lights or start an open flame
If there is fire use a fire extinguisher to stop the fire from spreading and ring the fire alarm alerting everyone to evacuate the building.
If someone is on fire remove the person from the source of fire, drop and roll him or her over or cover him or her with a fire blanket.

Cool burn under running water
Protect the burn with sterile, non-adhesive bandage (DO NOT APPLY BUTTER OR OINTMENTS)
Do not break blisters
Call for an ambulance and send to hospital
Chemical spill

Remove spoiled clothing
If skin or eyes affected rinse immediately with clean running water
If ingested do not induce vomiting and do not give water or mi unless told to do so by a health professional.
If inhaled move the person to fresh air and give oxygen if available.
After first aid is given send to hospital as soon as possible.

Practical Nature Of Mining

1 treat mining like business

In business you invest with the aim of making profit long term and sustainable. Inorder to do that just make a small informal business by listing what you need with exact value don’t forget to include monitoring expenses identify a claim close to you or never invest . If you are still tempted to invest far increase scope of investment so that all you will be able to all final production activities month end .
2 nothing can replace your presence
Gold is a currency that can be used without any purification or processing and around Zimbabwe you find gold nuggets of 5points upto 10kg your absence means you won’t be able to see it or account for production done using your own money. Be there from day one study everything learn all risks and rewards.

Your kids , wife and relatives are not you they can steal from you infact most gold related theft or lack of accountability is orchestrated by related especially the son or daughter in most cases l have come across.

Besides stealing they usually unknowingly disturb or sabotage production in the name of relative. All gold production ends are guarded by mine owner , sponsors or investors and workers nothing is left to chance.

3 avoid overspending on monitoring
Avoid driving up and down to the mine in the name of monitoring because it’s useless and unnecessary unless you spend atleast 6hrs of day time at the mine use public transport and avoid hiring transport for transactions that don’t need a car .

If you want to use a car increase your investment scope to accommodate the car .when ever gold pays you handsomely remember they are dark days ahead plan wisely and create proper backup.

Zanu PF Battles With Losing MPs Refusing To Return Party Vehicles

Zanu-PF has issued a warning to losing party candidates who have failed to return their party vehicles as instructed, cautioning that the vehicles could be repossessed by the police if they do not comply.

Despite repeated requests from the party leadership, some of the unsuccessful parliamentary candidates have refused to surrender the vehicles provided to them by Zanu-PF.

In a notice dated October 5, 2023, Munyaradzi Nyamukondiwa, Zanu-PF’s secretary for transport for Harare province, stated that the party would not hesitate to reclaim the vehicles through law enforcement if the candidates did not cooperate. The notice stated, “Those who did not surrender party vehicles as per instruction risk the embarrassment of the vehicles being repossessed through police.”

Zanu-PF had distributed 210 brand new branded vehicles, including 4×4 Nissan Navaras and Ford Rangers, to parliamentary candidates participating in the elections. However, the party had previously warned that unsuccessful candidates would be required to return the vehicles.

Last week, Obert Mpofu, Zanu-PF’s secretary for administration, emphasized that all defeated aspirants must return the cars without exception.

In preparation for the elections, Zanu-PF had spent millions of dollars on vehicles, party regalia, and improving the welfare of its members.

In a separate incident, police have identified the sixth victim of the RioZim light aircraft crash in Mashava, which occurred on September 29 in the Zvamahande area, killing six people on the spot. The sixth victim has been identified as Pichumoney Viswanath (58) of RioZim Limited.

Additionally, the police are investigating a robbery that occurred on a bus along the Mutare-Beitbridge Highway, where three unidentified male suspects armed with a pistol, posing as passengers, attacked the bus driver and 14 passengers. The robbers made off with ZAR146,160 and US$8,320 in cash, along with other valuables.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi provided an update on Operation “Tame the Traffic Jungle,” reporting that 71,024 arrests have been made. These include 1,854 arrests for vehicles without route permits, 22,291 arrests for illegal pirate taxis (mushikashika), 410 arrests for reckless driving, 5,137 arrests for touting, and 1,459 vehicles impounded for operating without registration plates.

Albert Chekai Ensnared in Yet Another Sexual Harassment Scandal as ZBC Sexgate Escalates

By A Correspondent| In a shocking twist to the scandalous ZBC sexgate, another top dog has been caught in the storm of accusations!

Albert Chekai, the newly appointed Director of News and Current Affairs, is now under the spotlight, and the heat is on!

The tempestuous ZBC sexgate initially ensnared Director of Radio Services, Robson Mhandu, accused of sexual harassment by a radio presenter seeking a transfer. But now, the flames have engulfed Chekai, who received his suspension papers at his very doorstep just two days ago, according to reports.

Whispers of sexual misconduct have long haunted the hallways of the state broadcaster, and it seems the dam has burst. Chekai’s suspension papers are just the beginning, as insiders predict a number heads will roll in the wake of these allegations.

Chekai was in 2022, allegedly entangled in romantic liaisons with another female presenter at ZBC with Goodness and Mercy Ministries founder, Prophet Tapiwa Freddy, dropping a bombshell during court proceedings, alleging a love triangle involving Chekai and presenter Rutendo Makuti.

During the gripping cross-examination, Freddy’s lawyer, Everson Chatambudza, threw a punch, confronting Makuti about her alleged romantic involvement with Chekai with the courtroom gasping as the shocking details emerged which painted a vivid picture of tangled love affairs within the state broadcaster’s walls.

Serious Concern Over Sprouting Of Liquor Stores In Harare CBD

By A Correspondent| The Southern African Alcohol Policy Alliance in Zimbabwe (SAAPA ZW) has raised serious concerns about the rapid proliferation of liquor stores in Harare and other urban areas with the escalating trend viewed as a significant threat to public health, safety, and overall societal well-being.

This follows a recent article in a local daily highlighting the surge of liquor shops in Harare with the outlets becoming focal points for criminal activities, drug sales, and prostitution.

In response, SAAPA ZW called on the government to act quickly and adopt an evidence-based alcohol policy that aligns with global strategy and the WHO S.A.F.E.R initiative to curb the growing harm from alcohol consumption.

SAAPA ZW called on the government to limit the number and strategic placement of liquor shops, particularly in residential and high-risk areas, and to restrict advertising and promotion of alcohol.

“Strengthening restrictions on alcohol availability by limiting the number, location, and hours of operation of liquor shops, especially in residential and high-risk areas.

“Advancing and enforcing drink driving counter measures by enacting and enforcing strong drink-driving laws and low blood alcohol concentration limits via sobriety checkpoints and random breath testing are some of the measures from the WHO SAFER initiative being advocated SAAPA ZW,” SAAPA ZW Coordinator Tungamirai Zimonte said.

Zimonte further urged the government to implement price hikes on alcohol by adopting a pricing model based on the amount of pure alcohol content, with the revenue generated being allocated to public health and social development programs.

“SAAPA ZW advocates for raising prices on alcohol by implementing excise taxes and pricing policies based on the amount of pure alcohol content in a product. The revenue generated from these measures should be allocated to public health and social development programs,” Zimonte added.

On 2 October, the world commemorated the World No Alcohol Day, a day set aside to spread awareness of the negative effects of alcohol.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the harmful use of alcohol is responsible for three million deaths annually. In addition, regular consumption of alcohol is linked with high blood pressure, liver disease, stroke, and diverse types of cancer.

How ZEC, FAZ Rigged Polls In Favour Of Emmerson Mnangagwa

Compiled by CCC

SEOM REPORT EXCERPT: 1/ Prior to election day, ZEC had assured our Mission and other stakeholders, that all necessary voting materials, including ballot papers, were available and ready for use before election day. This communication was made in the context of section 52A(2) of the Electoral Act which requires ZEC to provide information on the number of ballot papers and publication of details regarding them. On the basis of these two considerations, the subsequent information from ZEC that they did not have adequate ballot papers has the unfortunate effect of creating doubts about the credibility of this electoral process. #FreshElectionZW🇿🇼 #NoToAnother5Years

SEOM REPORT EXCERPT: 2/ During the voting period, and at 26% of the polling stations observed by the SEOM, not all voters who turned out could vote. The reasons advanced for this included:

i. Voters were identified, but the names were not found on the voters’ roll;
ii. It was not possible to establish the voter’s identity;
iii. Voters were at the wrong polling station; ( illegal transfer of voters) #FreshElectionsZW🇿🇼 #NoToAnother5Years

SEOM REPORT EXCERPT: 3/ In at least more than 500 of polling stations observed, indelible ink was not checked on the voters before allowing them to cast their vote. #FreshElectionsZW🇿🇼 #NoToAnother5Years

SEOM REPORT EXCERPT: 4/ Ballot boxes did not remain locked and/or sealed at more than 300 of the polling stations observed by SEOM. #FreshElectionsZW🇿🇼 #NoToAnother5Years

SEOM REPORT EXCERPT: 5/ In previous stakeholder consultations, a shadowy organisation referred to as Forever Associates Zimbabwe was accused of conducting a country-wide exercise of electoral intimidation.

Our observers confirmed the existence of this group as its officials or agents were easily identifiable at some polling stations as they were dressed in regalia emblazoned with the FAZ name and were accredited local observers. These, and other unidentified persons who were not polling officials were also observed taking down the names of voters before they cast their votes. In some areas, voters were intimidated by actions of these individuals.

Zim Musician Sgodo Demands Lobola Refund

In a twist, South Africa-based Zimbabwean musician Sgodo, whose real name is Alson Mandla Thebe, is demanding a full refund of his lobola (dowry) money from his in-laws following his wife’s departure from their marriage for a man of the cloth.

Sgodo, who is heartbroken over the situation, is insisting on the return of every cent he paid for his wife, Buhle Ncube, after she abruptly left him just one year into their marriage.

Trouble began when Ncube took their child and left Sgodo, relocating to live with her mother, effectively denying him access to their offspring.

The once-happy couple, who had a child together, seemed to have a promising future, but everything took a tragic turn when Ncube decided to leave Sgodo and took their child with her.

Since then, Sgodo has been embroiled in a battle to regain access to his child, but his efforts have been in vain.

Sgodo contends that his in-laws may have exploited him, insisting that when he paid lobola, it was not solely intended for the child’s upbringing. He firmly believes that the lobola he paid for Ncube should have covered the child’s expenses, absolving him of any additional financial responsibility.

Expressing his frustration and sense of deception, Sgodo is now making an unprecedented demand for a complete refund of the lobola he paid for Ncube.

He said, “My in-laws were trying to drain me financially and leave me penniless. My child should be allowed to live with my mother, who is still alive, but Ncube’s parents are against the idea.”

Adding to the drama, it has been rumored that Ncube left Sgodo for a well-known pastor residing in South Africa.

When questioned by B-Metro, Ncube defended her decision, claiming that she left Sgodo due to alleged abuse. She stated, “It is indeed true that I was in a relationship with Sgodo, it was all lovely that he went to pay lobola at my parent’s homestead and I went to live with him.”

“Trouble started three months after moving in with him that he started having extramarital affairs with several women. When I confronted him about it, he said it was his child’s mother and there was no way that he was going to lose communication with them so I left, taking my child with me.”

“After I had left the child, Sgodo started calling and insulting me, saying he wants his child back or I will bring back the money he used on lobola. So I don’t know if that is how things are done since I gave him a child and I cannot continue staying in an abusive relationship with someone who doesn’t know what he wants,” Ncube added.

Ncube asserted that she has moved on and Sgodo should do the same. She made it clear that she has no intentions of returning to a relationship with him and emphasized that Sgodo should focus on building a respectful and healthy connection with their child.

This story has sent shockwaves through the Zimbabwean community, as it raises complex questions about cultural traditions, relationships, and family dynamics. The situation continues to develop, with Sgodo steadfast in his pursuit of a lobola refund, and Ncube standing by her decision to move forward with her life.-state media

Caps United Fall

King Nadolo headed home a late winner as Yadah Stars eased their relegation worries with a 2-1 victory over struggling CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Bata Stadium today.

Makepekepe, who have crumbled after a brilliant start to the 2023 season, went into the clash on the backdrop on a 9-game winless run.

This last time Lloyd Chitembwe’s troops collected three points, was on July 15, when they beat GreenFuel 2-0.

Jerry Chipangura fired the Miracle Boys ahead a minute into the second half, before Rodwell Chinyengetere headed home CAPS’ equaliser in the 65th minute.

King Nadolo, who ironically was on the verge of joining CAPS ealier this season and was even spotted on several occasions in Makepekepe colors, restored Yadah’s advantage just six minutes of regulation time left.

Consequently, CAPS are now in the relegation matrix. The ailing Harare giants now occupy position 13 on the table, with 27 points from 25 matches.

Only goal difference separates the Green Machine from 15th placed Yadah, while Sheasham, who further dented Highlanders’ title hopes when they held the Bulawayo giants to a 1-1 stalemate at Babourfields today, are in 14th place.-Soccer24 News

Rwodzi-Violence: ZRP Idling Over Transfer Routines

Zimbabwe Republic Police Reshuffles Officers Amidst Controversy

In the midst of controversy surrounding the disappearance of a prominent police officer following threats from Tourism Minister Barbara Rwizi, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has announced a major reshuffle of its officers. The police force maintains that these transfers and redeployments are part of a routine program aimed at improving the effectiveness of law enforcement.

According to the ZRP, these reassignments are intended to address gaps left by officers who have died, been promoted, retired, or discharged from duty for various reasons. The police organization emphasizes that frequent reassignments are part of their human resource policy, designed to enhance overall performance and versatility among senior officers.

The ZRP spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, stated, “There is nothing sinister about transfers. Transfers are part of police work, and there is a need to rotate officers.” He explained that promotions and retirements necessitate these changes, and Commissioner-General of Police Godwin Matanga has the prerogative to make such transfers.

Nyathi emphasized that these transfers are not targeted at specific individuals but are made to tap into officers’ experience and align them with the evolving demands of policing in the country. He encouraged officers with concerns to approach the police command and the Police General Headquarters for resolution.

This reshuffling comes as the ZRP has been undergoing significant transformations since 2018, with the aim of rebuilding public confidence in the force. As Zimbabwe strives to achieve its Vision 2030 of becoming an upper-middle-income society, the ZRP is adapting its structure and policies to meet new policing demands.

Earlier this year, 300 junior and senior police officers were reshuffled as part of an ongoing restructuring effort, which saw officers moved between provinces and stations to prevent them from becoming entrenched in one role for too long.

The recent promotion of officers, including 18 superintendents, highlights the evolving responsibilities within the police service. Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga stressed the importance of exemplary leadership, patriotism, discipline, and ethical conduct among the newly promoted officers.

Additionally, the ZRP has been actively recruiting to bolster its human resources, as it continues its transformation and rebranding efforts to regain public trust.

While the police maintain that these transfers are routine and intended to enhance their effectiveness, questions and concerns continue to circulate in light of recent controversies within the force. The ZRP’s actions will undoubtedly be closely scrutinized in the coming weeks as they seek to ensure security and uphold the law in Zimbabwe.-state media

Chaos Erupts in Gweru as Korokozas Clash Over Gold Discovery

GWERU, ZIMBABWE – Police in Gweru have cordoned off part of Mtausi suburb along the Gweru-Shurugwi highway after violence and skirmishes erupted from some artisanal miners following the discovery of gold deposits in the area.

Police say some residents raised alarm after over 100 artisanal miners descended on the suburb in search of gold.

One resident, Mr Norman Machacha, said he had to call the police after several efforts to ward off artisanal miners from his residential stand failed.

“I was woken up by a loud noise and saw a group of people digging in my yard,” Machacha said. “I tried to stop them, but they threatened to beat me up. I had to call the police.”

Another resident, Mrs Mary Chiri, said her house was broken into by artisanal miners who were looking for gold.

“I was asleep when I heard a noise in the living room,” Chiri said. “I woke up and saw a group of men in my house. They told me they were looking for gold and that they would not leave until they found it.”

Chiri said the artisanal miners stole her valuables, including a television, laptop, and jewelry.

Police have since arrived on the scene and are trying to contain the situation. However, tensions remain high, with both residents and artisanal miners vowing not to back down.

The discovery of gold in Mtausi suburb has sparked a new gold rush in Gweru, with artisanal miners from all over the country flocking to the area. However, the influx of artisanal miners has also led to an increase in crime and violence.

The government has been urged to intervene and find a solution to the problem of artisanal miners invading residential areas.

In a post-cabinet briefing this Wednesday, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Honourable Dr Jenfan Muswere said 13 persons managed to escape when the mine caved in, nine were rescued and four bodies were found.

39 miners were verified to have been trapped in a kilometre-long tunnel on the day of the disaster.

After being called into action, the District Civil Protection Committee swiftly assessed the situation, coordinated the reaction actions, enlisted the aid of neighbouring mining firms in the rescue attempts and set up a Command Centre at the mine.

The deceased are receiving state-assisted funerals, which include burial services, the provision of grain, and funding to oversee the burials. The mine owner is additionally assisting with the burial arrangements as well as providing food for the rescue team.

The search for the missing people and the recovery of the remaining dead are ongoing.

Regarding the Mashava Plane Crush, Cabinet has announced that the RioZim plane, which was flying from Harare to Murowa Diamonds, had 6 men on board.

The bereaved families are receiving support from the National Civil Protection Fund.

The government is providing funeral assistance, psychological therapy, and forensic inspection and DNA testing of the deceased people’s remains to mourning relatives through the Civil Protection Unit.

Cholera Kills 13 In Buhera

BUHERA – Thirteen people, four from one family have died and 264 infected as a deadly cholera outbreak hit Buhera District in Manicaland from around August 20, 2023.

Manicaland Acting Provincial Medical Director (PMD) Dr Munyaradzi Mukuzunga confirmed the figures and the cases which initially appeared to be limited to members of Johanne Marange Apostolic Church have spread to almost the whole district.

A report by the Ministry indicates that Johane Marange church hid the cases and the deaths from authority and the outbreak was only discovered after two people died at Murambinda District Hospital.

“Yes I can confirm that there is a cholera outbreak in Buhera which appear to have started at a church gathering and was later noticed at a funeral. The outbreak has now spread to most of the district,” said Mukuzunga…

100 Cops Transferred For Voting Chamisa

By-Police has transferred over 100 police officers for voting the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change under the postal voting system.
A transfer list leaked to NewsDay shows that Masvingo province dominated, with over 40 police officers being transferred from their stations.
An internal communication signal dated October 3, 2023 and labelled as immediate instructed station commanders to facilitate the transfers of the named police officers.
“The following transfers have been approved and should be implemented accordingly,” the internal communication signal read.
Other affected provinces are Matabeleland North and South, Midlands, Bulawayo and Harare, with instructions that the transferred officers must be transported to the new stations by October 20.
“Officers commanding provinces who are receiving transferred members are encouraged to facilitate their smooth transportation … members should commence preparations for departure and are expected to report to their new stations not later than October 20, thereafter officers in charge should submit casualty returns.”
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the transfers, saying there was nothing sinister or political about the re-deployments.
“Remember we recently had promotions of police officers to higher ranks, where some needed to take up leading positions at stations and some of them were transferred to take those leading positions. I am aware of the transfer signal and there are officers who would want to resist transfers by making these unfounded claims, to even involve politics in it,” Nyathi said.
“The transfers are regularly done in the service for officers to go to where their services, based on their level of experience, are required.
“Do not forget that there are some police officers who retire and some pass on, so transfers may be done to fill up those positions. So that is nothing related to postal voting.” Newsday

DJ Scott Fired Over Sexual Harassment

By-ZBC has suspended Power FM station manager Scott Matengambiri, known as DJ Scott, on allegations of demanding oral sex from a female subordinate.
This publication has not named the girl to protect the victim.
DJ Scott pestered a young female ZBC employee for sex on the basis that he “gave her a job”, so it was payback time.
Contacted for comment, ZBC chief executive officer Adelaide Chikunguru declined to discuss the damning scandal rocking her institution.
“I am not aware of this conversation (sic),” she said, curtly.
This comes as ZBC’s radio services director Robson Mhandu was suspended last week for allegedly harrasing Farai Jules.
In leaked audios, Mhando threatened to “maul” Jules, in some of the lurid and disturbing harassment scandals in contemporary Zimbabwe’s media landscape.
Now, DJ Scott has reportedly been suspended pending a hearing process over the damaging sexual harassment case.
There are some private ZBC workers’ chats confirming that DJ Scott was in trouble for failing to control his sexual appetite for young subordinates.
The lady also recorded DJ Scott making his “unwanted advances”.
She has been reaching out for help in recent weeks as she was being tormented by the “sex-crazed radio DJ”.
“Scott grabbed the girl’s head and tried to force her to give him oral sex saying he gave her a job, so she must pay back. The case has already been reported to the ZBC human resources department. But Scott is going (being fired),” said a source.
DJ Scott joined PowerFM in Gweru in 2002 and was only appointed last year in March as the station manager.
Repeated efforts to get DJ Scott’s side of the story were futile as he did not respond to questions sent via WhatsApp.

Bosso Falter At Crucial Juncture

When Highlanders edged Ngezi Platinum Stars 1-0 in a top of the table clash on July 30, Baobab Stadium erupted with black and white delight.

Lynoth Chikuhwa’s brilliant second half strike was enough for Bosso to collect their first maximum points at the home of Ngezi since 2016.

Baltemar Brito’s charges had done what all teams fighting for the championship are expected to do —grind a result at the home of their title rivals.

Bosso were cruising then, and their crucial victory over Madamburo summarized their dominance in the first half of the season.

They (Bosso) stretched their lead at the top of the table to seven points, and their fans starved started to believe the title was theirs for the taking.

Amahlolanyama’s quest to end their 16-year wait for the championship looked achievable, before an unexpected twist to the tale.

The Bulawayo giants, who extended their unbeaten run to 19 matches after the victory Ngezi, have incredibly crumbled in the second half of the 2023 campaign.

Highlanders have won only one of their last five matches and consequently surrendered top spot to the platinum miners.

Painfully for Bosso fans, if Dynamos beat Triangle United today and then the Premier Soccer League (PSL) awards the latter three points for the two giants’ abandoned match at Babourfields last month, DeMbare will leapfrog Highlanders into second position on the table.

Bosso’s usually rock solid defence is suddenly leaking goals regularly.

Captain and goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda, who kept 14 clean sheets during Bosso’s 19-game unbeaten run, looks badly exposed and the Highlanders backline is being breached frequently.

Bosso’s hopes of completing a league and couple this season went up in smoke, as they were booted out of the Chibuku Super Cup by struggling CAPS United at Babourfields last week.

Against Bosso, Makepekepe even scored two goals in a single game —something Lloyd Chitembwe’s troops had failed to do in over two months.

CAPS raced to a 2-0 first half lead before Bosso fought back to restore parity in the second stanza, only for Brito’s men to lose in the penalty shootout.

At Emagumeni yesterday, Tshilamoya were somewhat very fortunate to come out with a point against relegation-threatened Sheasham, who dominated in the first half and deservedly took the lead through David Mangesi in the 39th minute.

Stanley Ngala levelled matters for Bosso in the 78th minute.

Highlanders are now six points adrift of Ngezi with nine games remaining but Brito is not giving up on the possibility of his side winning the championship.

“There are still nine games to go. In next round of games, we will surprise everyone and fight for the maximum points.

We don’t want the fans to lose passion for the team. They should continue to believe and we will do our best,” said the Portuguese mentor.-Soccer24 News

Yadah Stars Punish Caps United

EIA Crucial In Mining

In response to a misprint where we said EIAs or Environmental impact assessment is done by Ministry of Mines instead of the Environmental Management Agency consultant, we will briefly outline the process and requirements.

For the record, EIA
is done by EMA through registered agents.

Inorder to get an EIA certificate that outlines how you will manage the environment where you conduct your project to satisfaction of EMA requirements you must follow the following requirements.

You must have a registered mine with work approved by the Ministry of Mines . From there you choose a consultant qualified to do so approved by the ministry of mines who understands the laws of the country especially to do with Environmental management.

When he/she starts the process, she calculates the total project cost and send to EMA for billing then they will charge you a small percentage for you to proceed with your consultations .

Then there is consultation phase where you consult in writing key stakeholders depending on location but the following are there everywhere in the country
1 District administration
2 Rural district council and
3 ZINWA
4 Forestry commission
5 Agritex
6 ZRP
7 local communities x 15
These above stakeholders have their own requirements inorder to fill the form given to them and comment .

After these consultations have been a book is compiled and submitted to EMA for proper assessment before it is approved if meets the standard of Environmental management then a certificate will be issued giving permission to proceed with the intended project.

However as you continue more licensing is required depending on activities you are carrying out .

For your EIAs we have a consultant who does at affordable prices compared to the rest of consultants across the country as low as 1000usd depending on project specifications.

Exposed: How ZEC, FAZ Rigged Polls In Favour Of Emmerson Mnangagwa

The reasons advanced for this included:

i. Voters were identified, but the names were not found on the voters’ roll;
ii. It was not possible to establish the voter’s identity;

ED meets Ramaphosa

By A Correspondent- Today, President Mnangagwa is scheduled to meet with his South African counterpart, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, to inaugurate the Border Management Authority (BMA) in Musina, Limpopo Province. The two leaders will also embark on a joint tour of the Beitbridge Border Post before their meeting in the South African border town.

The agenda for their meeting includes discussions on various border-related issues. Zimbabwe has undertaken significant improvements to its portion of the border to enhance efficiency and align with South Africa’s development objectives.

Through a public-private partnership with the Zimborders Consortium, the Zimbabwean government has completed a $300 million upgrade of the Beitbridge Border Post. This upgraded facility now comprises three terminals for freight, buses, and private cars/pedestrians, with automated connections to South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, and Tanzania.

South Africa’s Presidency stated that the launch of the BMA follows its formal establishment as a Schedule 3 (A) public entity on April 1, 2023. This development provides South Africa with an integrated border management platform, enabling centralized command and control to ensure secure borders, safe travel, and efficient trade.

As part of the launch, President Ramaphosa will host President Mnangagwa and engage in official talks, accompanied by a guided tour of the Beitbridge border, with support from members of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee (IMCC) on the BMA.

This visit by the two leaders to the busiest inland port in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) follows Pretoria’s approval of a proposal by the Ministry of Home Affairs to upgrade six major ports of entry, including the Beitbridge Border Post.

Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, South Africa’s Home Affairs Minister, confirmed that full support had been secured from the Ministry of Finance to initiate these projects. The six designated ports of entry for redevelopment include Beitbridge (Zimbabwe), Lebombo (Mozambique), Maseru Bridge (Lesotho), Ficksburg (Lesotho), Kopfontein (Botswana), and Oshoek (Eswatini).

Construction will be executed in phases to prevent disruptions to ongoing operations at these ports. This project is expected to create approximately 38,000 jobs in the vicinity of the designated ports of entry. It is being undertaken as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), with the procurement process following Treasury Regulation 16 procedures for PPP projects.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) for these projects has been issued, inviting interested parties to participate. Dr. Motsoaledi emphasized that the redevelopment of these land ports of entry is essential due to the significant increase in cross-border movement in the region since the advent of democracy. Congestion at South Africa’s land ports of entry has hampered trade and economic activity.

In response, six of the largest and busiest land ports have been earmarked for redevelopment to alleviate congestion and facilitate smoother trade flows.-statemedia

Cops transfer raises eyebrow

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Republic Police has relocated more than 100 police officers, amid allegations that some may have been transferred as a form of punishment for purportedly voting for the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) through the postal voting system.

A leaked transfer list obtained by NewsDay indicates that the majority of these transfers, over 40 in total, occurred in Masvingo province.

An internal communication signal, dated October 3, 2023, and marked as “immediate,” instructed station commanders to facilitate the relocation of the named police personnel. The signal stated, “The following transfers have been approved and should be implemented accordingly.”

Other affected provinces include Matabeleland North and South, Midlands, Bulawayo, and Harare. The instructions specified that the transferred officers should be transported to their new stations by October 20. It also urged provincial officers in charge to ensure a smooth transition for the transferred personnel and requested casualty returns after the transfers were completed.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the transfers and asserted that there were no political motives behind these reassignments. He explained, “Remember we recently had promotions of police officers to higher ranks, where some needed to take up leading positions at stations and some of them were transferred to take those leading positions. I am aware of the transfer signal, and there are officers who would want to resist transfers by making these unfounded claims, even involving politics in it.”

Nyathi emphasized that such transfers are routine within the police service, designed to place officers where their skills and experience are needed most. He also noted that retirements and other personnel changes necessitate transfers to fill vacant positions, stating that these moves had no connection to postal voting or political affiliations.

Manhunt for cholera patient

By A Correspondent- The City of Bulawayo is on the hunt for a patient who has gone missing after being diagnosed with Cholera at a time when five positive cases have been confirmed in Harare.

The positive cholera case in the city and the disappearance of the patient was confirmed on Monday by the Director of Health Services Dr Edwin Sibanda-Mzingwane and on Wednesday, council spokesperson Mrs Nesisa Mpofu said there were still seized with the tracing of the patient with the case being the only one recorded in the city to date.

“The tracing of the patient is currently underway. So far, that is the only case received,” said Mrs Mpofu.

Mrs Mpofu said residents were being reminded of the importance of washing hands with soap and running water, keeping utensils clean and stored in clean places, boiling of water as a precaution, thoroughly heating food before consumption and keeping water in clean and covered containers.

“There must also practice hygienic dispensing of water from the storage containers, keep the environment clean and desist from open defecation and littering, desist from using unsafe water alternative water sources and seek medical attention early, in the event of any illness,” she said.

The City of Harare released a statement yesterday informing residents that it has recorded five cholera cases in Hopely Zone 5, Stoneridge, Southlands, Granary, and Adbernie Mbare. The statement read that three of the cases had visited Buhera where there is a cholera outbreak while some may have contracted it from local sources.

Mthwakazi Republic Party leader booted out

The Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) leader, Mqondisi Moyo, has been removed from his position amid allegations of using hate speech and other charges, causing divisions within the secessionist movement.

An interim structure, led by co-chairpersons Thembisani Mpofu and Chilumbo Mudenda, has been appointed to organize an elective congress scheduled for next year.

Moyo faces accusations of abuse of office, lack of respect, and integrity in handling party affairs. Mbonisi Gumbo, the interim party spokesperson, explained that a meeting was held on Sunday to decide on the interim structure following Moyo’s removal. The interim committee’s goal is to repair the party’s image, which has suffered from years of mismanagement, public insults of prominent figures and organizations in Matabeleland, and internal strife.

Gumbo emphasized that Moyo and other members were not expelled from the party but no longer held their previous positions unless re-elected at the upcoming congress. Moyo, however, rejected his removal, describing it as null and void and alleging a plot to hijack the party.

The MRP was founded in 2014, advocating for Mthwakazi’s secession from Zimbabwe. President Emmerson Mnangagwa had previously cautioned the MRP leadership against promoting a secessionist agenda.

VP Chiwenga donates US$13k to children’s home

By A Correspondent- Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga’s family has donated towards the reconstruction of a gazebo and drilled a borehole at SOS Children’s Village in Bulawayo at a cost of nearly US$13 000 as it aims to address some of the challenges affecting the community.

The gazebo was destroyed in a fire in 2017 and the institution has been struggling to rebuild it until the intervention of the Vice President’s family through Dr Chiwenga’s wife, Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga.

Col Baloyi-Chiwenga visited the school yesterday where she commissioned the reconstructed gazebo and the new borehole, which is expected to improve water provision. She also commissioned a new  computer laboratory, which the school funded.

Col Baloyi-Chiwenga said coming to the aid of the school is part of her family’s effort to complement President Mnangagwa’s vision of delivering a competitive education sector.

“The human mind is our fundamental resource and the President of  the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Head of Government, the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, His Excellency Dr E.D Mnangagwa makes continuous efforts to come up with strategies to ensure that Zimbabwe continues to remain a force to reckon with not only in Africa  but the world over in terms of education,” said Col Baloyi-Chiwenga.

She said after the institution’s gazebo was burnt down and the school could not rebuild it, she visited SOS leaders and requested that they be assisted in rebuilding it.

“So, on behalf of my family, as part of our philanthropic journey we pledged to assist them to rebuild the gazebo that was gutted by the fire.

“We also pledged to drill a borehole so that they can use it one way or the other. We know as the Chiwenga family that this is not much but we hope that in our little ways we can be able to help wherever possible and change lives in our small ways we can afford,” said Col Baloyi-Chiwenga.

Through the borehole project, the school is expected to embark on agricultural activities.

“Today I’m not only handing over the two projects that my family donated to the school. I’m also officially opening the computer lab that was equipped by this institution,” she said.

“The world is now a global village due to improving technology. In cognisance of this assertion, it is, therefore, imperative to catch them young,” said Col Baloyi-Chiwenga.

SOS Children’s Village schools board chairperson Dr Faith Nyamukapa said the donation has come in handy considering the challenges the institution has been facing in rebuilding the gazebo. She said the gazebo was important when the school was conducting outdoor activities.

“I’m informed by the school head that the donation is valued at almost US$13 000. We appreciate such a donation will enhance water reticulation at this facility. I’m aware that the water of the city of Bulawayo has been affected by the geographical location of the city and remains a challenge and today where everyone is advocating for a green environment, the timing of the donation couldn’t be better,” she said.

Dr Nyamukapa said Col Baloyi-Chiwenga’s philanthropic work has seen her setting up an education facility that provides free education to the vulnerable.

“Your vision and desire for sustainable development makes a great impact on the needs of children including those without parental care even those at SOS Children Villages,” she said.

“Thank you for recognising that children need love, safety and care. I continue to call on the Government, corporates, individuals and the community at large to action.

“Every child has a right to dream and we, as various  stakeholders, entities and individuals are here to support the dream of children who have lost parental care be in cash of kind. They are our children and they are Zimbabwean children.”

Dont Abuse The Name Of Our Leader, CCC Tells Sengezo Tshabangu

CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi has responded to one Sengezo Tshabangu who claimed to be the party’s secretary general and wrote a letter to Parliament and to the Ministry of Local Government, recalling MPs and councillors.

“We note the desperation by an impostor who is masquerading as a member of CCC. CCC has clear signatories known to ZEC and have the mandate of the party.

“These people cannot abuse the name of our leader and the brand of our Party. Following, a devastating defeat in the election, ZANU PF has resorted to desperate measures in sponsoring impostors to destabilize the party.”

Self appointed CCC SG presents letter to Speaker of parliament

In a highly significant move, Sengezo Tshabangu, the Interim Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC),  delivered the party’s constitution addressed to Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda.

This delivery, which took place within the hallowed halls of Parliament, was marked by a distinct purpose: to ensure the Speaker was well-informed about the constitutional clauses that underpinned the recall of certain Councilors and Members of Parliament (MPs) affiliated with the CCC.

The transfer of the CCC constitution was executed through an official letter, formally received by Parliament on Wednesday. Within this letter, Mr. Tshabangu emphasized the party’s dedication to transparency and adherence to parliamentary processes. He explicitly stated, “Please find a copy of the interim constitution of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) for your records.” This gesture was not only an act of transparency but also aimed at equipping the Speaker with a clear understanding of the constitutional framework under which CCC recalls were initiated.

Crucially, this letter also contained a compendium of documents that played a pivotal role in the recall of several Councilors and MPs hailing from the Matabeleland region. Allegations had surfaced suggesting that these elected officials were no longer active CCC members, prompting their removal.

By presenting the CCC constitution to Parliament, the party underscored its commitment to upholding constitutional processes and respecting the mechanisms of the parliamentary system. This deliberate move affirmed the CCC’s recognition of the pivotal role played by legislative institutions in the nation’s democratic landscape.

This development has ignited substantial interest and debate within the political sphere. Observers and analysts are closely monitoring how the CCC’s engagement with parliamentary procedures unfolds.

Flea With No Legs Cannot Hear, Is A Fallacy. So Too Is, Chamisa Did Us A Favour Participating In 2023 Elections

To claim that Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends did the people of Zimbabwe a great favour by participating in the flawed 2023 elections is a fallacy.

“If CCC had boycotted the elections, the remaining small parties like Mwonzora’s MDC and Madhuku’s NCA would not have been a serious political threat to force Zanu PF to rig the elections. And so SADC and AU would have found no flaws and illegalities to condemn!” the proponents of the CCC favour fallacy argue.

By definition: a contradictory premises fallacy occurs when someone presents a conclusion that cannot be accurate based on the premises set forth.

There was a morbid scientist who trained a flea to jump at his command. He then proceeded to remove the poor creature’s limbs, one by one. With the loss of each limb the insect moved at the command or be it not as far as with all its legs. After the last leg, the insect did not budge!

“A flea without legs cannot hear!” concluded our morbid scientist!

Of course, the claim that CCC did the nation a great service by participating in the flawed and illegal 23 August 2023 elections is a contradictory premises fallacy. For one thing, if the party did us a great favour this year then it must have also done us a great favour during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when Morgan Tsvangirai and company had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and thus ended Zanu PF’s carte blanche powers to rig elections.

With all the democratic reforms implemented Zimbabwe would have held its first ever free, fair and credible elections in 2013 and from henceforth have been a healthy and functioning democratic nation. Think of the economic and political benefits the last ten years would have brought.

These 23 August 2023 elections would have been free, fair and credible consolidating Zimbabwe’s position as a bastion of peace, freedom and liberty; free at last from the clutches of corrupt and tyrannical vote rigging thugs!

“Yeah! But the nation would be very disappointed that SADC and AU election reports would have found no flaws and illegalities to report about!” our morbid CCC leader would argue!

The truth is CCC leaders participated in this 2023 elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. They still participated regardless because they also knew that Zanu PF was offering a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate no matter how flawed and illegal the process got.

Zanu PF knew the party could never win free, fair and credible elections even against the small parties like MDC and NCA, at least the party would be foolish to make such a gabble. Zanu PF knew the party would get away with blatantly rigged elections as long as the opposition participated in the flawed elections on mass.

After 2018 elections, Mnangagwa created the POLAD grouping to reward the losers of the presidential rat race. Lovemore Madhuku was one of the beneficiaries of the POLAD freebies and, no doubt, he and many others had their beady eyes on POLAD freebies this time too.

In the 2013 and 2018 Zanu PF rigged the elections and MDC/CCC participated with the usual enthusiasm and SADC and AU election observers played along and turned a blind eye to the rigging. Of course both Zanu PF and CCC were surprise that SADC and AU observers had departed from the usual script and condemned the 2023 Zimbabwe elections!

For CCC leaders to now claim that party had deliberately failed to implement the reforms so that SADC and AU would have the flaws and illegalities to report about is nonsense!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

They should have implemented the reforms, then boycotting would have been irrelevant. However, when they had failed to implement the reforms, boycotting was the more rational option since the alternative was giving Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

CCC leaders’ greed was so strong that they ignored SADC and AU reports denounce the election as a sham to take up their gravy train seats. No doubt, Madhuku and others cannot wait for the dust to settle so they too can claim their POLAD freebies.

For Chamisa and company to claim the fortuitous SADC and AU damning report of the 23 August 2023 as their doing; is an outrage that must be dismissed with the contempt it rightly deserves.

Indeed, the nation is hoping that SADC leaders will do the honourable thing and uphold the SADC damning report and thus deny this Zanu PF regime complete with its surrogate CCC opposition political legitimacy. The country will then be compelled to devise a National Transition Authority (NTA) who primary task will be bio implement the democratic reforms and end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

Both Zanu PF and CCC cannot be in the NTA. The former will never reform itself out of office and the latter, will no doubt, not want to implement the reforms to give future SADC and AU election observers have some flaws and illegalities to report on!

By including both Zanu PF and CCC we can be certain not ALL the reforms will be implemented; in the 2008 to 2013 GNU they failed to implement even one token reform. Zimbabwe is a failed state and cannot afford to waste the chance this NTA has created to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance!

President Mnangagwa’s Girlfriend Found Dead

ORIGINAL ARTICLE BELOW….

By Farai D Hove | ANALYSIS | ZimEye | At a time when revelations of his affair with the new Attorney General are rife, ZANU PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa, finds himself at the center of serious allegations related to his personal life and temper control. These allegations, largely unchallenged, have ignited concerns about the senior politician’s emotional stability, particularly in private settings.

**Explosive Allegations Unearthed:**

The controversy erupted following 48 year running persistent revelations that Mr Mnangagwa maintains multiple romantic relationships, including one with the recently appointed Attorney General. While these allegations remain unprosecuted, they have led to intense speculation about the man’s emotional demeanor and how he handles his temper behind closed doors.

When he insurrected against the late president Robert Mugabe in Nov 2017, Mnangagwa had a warrant of arrest over the murder of his girlfriend in a flat. The docket (pictures in the link below) is still there, and the whole military coup was a way to sway away the criminal charges, sources suggested to ZimEye – that Mnangagwa knew he was going to be arrested for the murder of the girlfriend (a church member of Tudor Bismark’s organisation) killed in a flat in Harare who was a discovered a week later.

This episode raises serious questions about his ability to control his temper, especially in a public setting. VIDEO:

**Echoes of a Troubled Past:**

The disturbing visuals from this recent incident bring back haunting memories from a 2014 police case. At that time, Mr. Mnangagwa was implicated in the alleged murder of one of his girlfriends, who was also a church member of Bishop Tudor Bizmark’s Church. Despite the passage of nine years, the President has not provided any response or clarification regarding these allegations.

**Calls for Accountability:**

In light of these recent events, many Zimbabweans and international observers are demanding accountability and transparency from President Mnangagwa. The allegations of multiple romantic relationships and the disturbing public display of aggression have raised valid concerns about his suitability to lead the nation.

Duo Smokes Peace Pipe As Pre-Election Persecution For Denigrating Mnangagwa Ends

By A Correspondent| A Kadoma woman has been spared prosecution after the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) withdrew charges of denigrating President Emmerson Mnangagwa while at a funeral, which had been preferred against her.

Rudorwashe Shumba, a 38 year-old resident of Kadoma in Mashonaland West province, had been scheduled to stand trial late last month at Kadoma Magistrates Court after she was arrested on 28 August 2023 and charged with assault as defined in section 89(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

In court, prosecutors alleged that Shumba unlawfully and intentionally assaulted 49 year-old Joram Bhavhenda, a ZANU PF party supporter, who is also a resident of Kadoma, on 15 August 2023 around 1: AM while attending a funeral and after accusing him and some other ruling party sympathisers of making it difficult for her to be free at the funeral.

Prosecutors claimed that while Bhavhenda reportedly kept quiet during the altercation, Shumba clapped him once on the face and accused him and other ZANU PF party supporters of being “President Mnangagwa’s dogs”.

During the incident, prosecutors said Bhavhenda did not sustain any visible injuries and did not seek any medical attention after the alleged assault.

But Shumba, who was represented by Unite Saizi of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, is now a free person after the NPA dropped charges against her following a request by Bhavhenda, who has since made peace with the 38 year-old Kadoma resident, as they are neighbours.

I Will Not Be Silenced, Prof Mugano Responds To Dismissal From ZimTrade Board

By A Correspondent| Top economist and former Board member of ZimTrade Professor Gift Mugano has accused Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Fredrick Shava of trying to silence him.

Mugano is a fierce critic of the government and has on many occasions condemned Zimbabwe’s economic policies and instruments which did not go well with the regime.

Yesterday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Secretary Ambassador J Manzou announced that Prof Mugano had been removed from the ZimTrade board. This follows his earlier resignation from the Zisco Steel board.

In his response, Mugano said moves to silence him will not work.

“Fired from the ZimTrade Board by the appointing authority before the end of my term! This is part of the strategies of GOZ aimed at silencing alternative voices. It will not work on me! Zimbabwe is for us all and our views matters,” said Prof Mugano.

Recently, Mugano took to X (formerly Twitter) to express pessimism about the direction the country was taking.

“I am trying to frame how the economy will look like going forward – all I see is darkness,” said Mugano.

CCC legislator, councillor nabbed

By A Correspondent- On Tuesday, Makoni Central legislator Patrick Sagandira, a member of the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), along with councillor Teddy Chipere and several other party members, were arrested in connection with post-election violence that occurred in the district.

The violence erupted in ward 33 following a runoff election on Monday, with reports indicating that several Zanu-PF party supporters sustained injuries during the clashes.

The ward had previously seen no clear winner in the elections held on August 23 and 24, as CCC candidate Priscilla Rujeko Saruwaka and Zanu-PF’s Maxwell Japan received an equal number of votes. In the subsequent runoff election on Monday, Zanu-PF’s Japan secured 928 votes, while Saruwaka received 625 votes, leading to the alleged outbreak of violence.

Following the announcement of the results, Sagandira, Chipere (who serves as a councillor in ward 1 in Rusape town), and several other party supporters were apprehended. CCC Manicaland chairperson Prosper Mutseyami confirmed these arrests, stating that they were being charged with political violence. However, he emphasized that Sagandira had not been present in Nyazura where the violence occurred, describing the charges as unfounded.

Mutseyami added, “Sagandira was arrested when he went to see other party members who had been detained.”

Prior to his arrest on Tuesday morning, Sagandira had claimed that he was being specifically targeted.

Tawanda Mukodza, Zanu-PF’s Manicaland provincial chairperson, mentioned that he was tending to the injured party supporters in Rusape, explaining that they had nine supporters who were injured, with some in serious condition. He also noted that they required financial assistance to cover medical bills and suggested that Sagandira had used his Land Rover vehicle to transport CCC supporters in Rusape.

There were reports of CCC supporters allegedly vandalizing some shops at Nyazura business center. Although NewsDay attempted to contact the police for comment, it was unclear at the time of reporting whether the accused CCC members would appear in court today.-newsday

SADC Update By Ibbo Mandaza

Academic Professor Ibbo Mandaza Urges SADC and AU to Address Zimbabwe’s Political Crisis

JOHANNESBURG – In a gripping lecture held at Wits University today, Zimbabwean academic and prominent commentator, Professor Ibbo Mandaza, delivered a powerful message, urging the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union (AU) not to turn a blind eye to the ongoing political crisis in Zimbabwe.

Professor Mandaza’s lecture, which focused on the recent elections in Zimbabwe, drew a diverse audience of students, academics, and diplomats who were keen to hear his insights on the troubling state of affairs in his home country.

During the lecture, Professor Mandaza minced no words as he criticized the handling of the political situation in Zimbabwe, particularly in the wake of the recent elections. He expressed deep concerns about the alleged irregularities and human rights violations that marred the electoral process.

“The people of Zimbabwe deserve a democratic and transparent electoral process,” Professor Mandaza stated emphatically. “It is essential that SADC and the AU take an active role in ensuring that the political crisis in Zimbabwe is addressed promptly and fairly.”

His comments come at a time when Zimbabwe has been grappling with political instability, economic challenges, and allegations of human rights abuses. The recent elections in Zimbabwe raised eyebrows both locally and internationally, with accusations of voter suppression and a lack of transparency.

Professor Mandaza’s lecture was met with resounding applause from the audience, many of whom shared his concerns and called for international intervention. The Zimbabwean academic’s reputation as a thoughtful and respected commentator on African politics lent further weight to his call for action.

As news of his lecture spread, social media platforms buzzed with discussions, with many echoing his sentiments and demanding that regional and continental bodies step in to address the ongoing crisis in Zimbabwe.

The SADC and AU have faced criticism in the past for their perceived inaction on matters of political turmoil within member states. Professor Mandaza’s passionate plea serves as a stark reminder that the international community is closely watching and urging these organizations to live up to their mandates.

In the wake of Professor Mandaza’s powerful message, the question now remains: Will SADC and the AU heed his call and take concrete steps to address the political crisis in Zimbabwe, or will Zimbabweans continue to endure a state of uncertainty and unrest? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain—Professor Ibbo Mandaza’s words have ignited a renewed sense of urgency surrounding the Zimbabwean crisis, both within and beyond its borders.

A syndicate of suspected fraudsters who allegedly smuggled high end vehicles into the country and evade paying toll gates has been nabbed, with five of the suspects appearing in court this Tuesday.

Terrence Madiro, Aleck Dzepatsva, Brian Matongo, Tinashe Kanda and Elvis Jieman allegedly smuggled different types of high end cars from South Africa and fraudulently acquired exempted number plates for them to have free passage at tollgates and police road blocks.

Munyaradzi Chatonzwa, Sydney Rande, Mark Chingondo and Simbarashe Ota allegedly attacked Chief Inspector Alexander Jachi whom they assaulted using unknown objects before they stole his firearm and deflated his car.

SONA Boycott: Chamisa 1 Mnangagwa 0

STATEMENT ON THE OPPOSITION’S BOYCOTT OF THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE FIRST SESSION OF THE 10TH PARLIAMENT AND THE STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS(SONA) BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE, H.E Dr. ED MNANGAGWA

The Progressive and Patriotic Citizens of Zimbabwe, notes with dismay the boycotting of the official opening of the First session of the Tenth parliament of Zimbabwe and the State of the Nation address by the president of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr ED Mnangagwa.

The boycott is evidence of a party lacking both principles, ideology and tact. It is a puplic secret that the Citizens Coalition for Change gladly embraced its victories in the legislative and council elections that took place on 23 August 2023 during the National harmonized elections.

CCC envies the benefits that come with their victories, yet hypocritically claims not recognize the electoral outcome.

These opposition party lawmakers who boycotted the official opening of the First session of the tenth parliament did not only violate their oath of office but also betrayed their respective constituencies’ desire to be represented.

CCC legislators must understand that they are part of government and they represent everyone across the political divide. As PAPCOZ we therefore condemn such irresponsible behavior with the contempt it deserves.

On the other side of the spectrum, however, PAPCOZ embraces the state of the nation address for it outlined and provided a comprehensive overview of the government’s achievements and highlighted the legislative focus for the upcoming parliamentary session.

With a strong emphasis on economic growth, infrastructure development and social welfare, the President reaffirmed his administration’s total and unwavering commitment to advancing the nation of Zimbabwe and improving the lives of ordinary citizens as we endeavor to achieve an empowered and upper-middle income society by 2030.

Mnangagwa Cornered

According to President Chamisa, Mr Mnangagwa will not be allowed to perform another coup on the ballot.

Beitbridge Border Continues Crackdown

The Department of Immigration’s Regional Compliance and Enforcement Unit has declared its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the transformed Beitbridge Border Post from criminals and illegal migrants. Recent figures released by the department highlight the extent of their efforts, with 2,383 individuals turned away at the border, and 1,781 arrested for various illegal activities over the past three weeks in the region straddling Zimbabwe and South Africa.

This ongoing regional compliance operation, conducted in collaboration with local police, aims to curtail criminal activities that have plagued the border area. These activities include border jumping, touting, the use of counterfeit immigration stamps, and forged travel documents, which have contributed to a surge in human trafficking.

Mrs. Canisia Magaya, the Head of Immigration Compliance and Enforcement at Beitbridge, emphasized the cooperative approach being taken to tackle these issues. She stated, “We are not relenting on our quest to maintain safety and security for travelers and ensure a flawless flow of traffic this festive season.” Mrs. Magaya further explained that they are working closely with other border agencies as part of an enforcement committee to address problems related to touts, vendors, and vagrants along the border.

The recent crackdown resulted in the apprehension of offenders at freight, bus, light vehicle, and pedestrian terminals between September 12 and October 2. Mrs. Magaya noted that the operation’s primary goal is to ensure the safety and security of all travelers.

She reported, “Our regional enforcement and compliance remain firm on the ground. We worked with other border agencies, including the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), and between September 12 and October 2, they arrested 2,383 individuals for various border violation-related offenses.”

During the same period, 288 people were denied entry into South Africa, while 276 were unable to enter Zimbabwe. These individuals included citizens from countries such as the DRC, Egypt, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Pakistan, and others. Many lacked valid permits, passports, or departure stamps from their home countries.

Mrs. Magaya stressed that ample manpower has been deployed to target known hotspots and areas prone to criminal activities. She also urged travelers to utilize designated entry and exit points for their own safety and to seek assistance from immigration offices if they have questions or concerns, as touts often exploit their lack of information.

The compliance operation remains ongoing, with Mrs. Magaya affirming their determination not to give criminals any breathing space. Enforcement teams are diligently conducting spot checks on vehicles and buses entering and leaving the country through Beitbridge Border Post.

The automation of services and improved traffic management at the transformed Beitbridge Border Post has significantly enhanced efficiency and security, making it a pivotal point of entry for the country. This commitment to safety and security underscores the importance of maintaining the integrity of this critical border crossing for both Zimbabwe and its neighboring countries.-state media

Cholera Hits Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe Battles Fresh Cholera Outbreak Amidst Institutional and Governance Challenges-

Zimbabwe finds itself grappling with a resurgence of cholera, shining a harsh spotlight on the nation’s institutional and governance hurdles. As of Tuesday, the country has reported 61 suspected cases, including four confirmed cholera cases and one suspected death, with the majority concentrated in Buhera district, the epicenter of this outbreak.

The situation has taken a concerning turn, with 40 new suspected cholera cases and another laboratory-confirmed infection reported just yesterday. Buhera remains severely affected, with 33 cases, along with Chipinge, Zaka, and Mutare contributing to the alarming rise in cases.

Harare, the nation’s capital, has also been affected, with five confirmed cases scattered across different zones. Harare City Council acknowledged the connection between the cases and Buhera, suggesting the possibility of local transmission.

Frustrated residents of Harare have expressed their dissatisfaction with the city’s management, citing a lack of basic services such as garbage collection and clean water provision as contributing factors to the outbreak. They argue that a collapsing service delivery system has left the city vulnerable to public health crises.

One resident, Mrs. Shupikai Thompson, pointed out the disconnect between policy-making and implementation within the City of Harare, while Ms. Prudence Rukondo criticized the City Council for failing to provide clean potable water. Many residents believe that councillors prioritize their interests over public welfare.

Inadequate refuse collection and frequent sewerage blockages in high-density areas are aggravating factors in the spread of cholera. Critics argue that the council’s allocation of resources does not prioritize health delivery and environmental conservation.

Cholera, a waterborne disease, spreads through contaminated drinking water and food. Zimbabwe has a history of cholera outbreaks, with the worst occurring in 2008 and another major outbreak in 2018. The current outbreak began in February, resulting in 4,609 suspected cases and 935 confirmed cases. The good news is the impressive recovery rate of 4,401, although there have been 30 confirmed deaths and 100 suspected deaths.

A policy research working paper commissioned by the World Bank identified sanitation risk, poverty, sewer burst density, and imported cases as cholera risk factors. Burst sewer systems and water scarcity, exacerbated by opposition council inefficiencies, have affected many Harare suburbs, exposing residents to preventable diseases.

Local authorities are constitutionally obligated to provide safe drinking water, a duty that some argue has not been upheld. Harare City’s deputy mayor, Clr Kudzai Kadzombe, asserts that the council is working to increase water production and ensure that the infectious disease hospital is prepared for any cases that may arise.

While urban areas are affected, concerns have arisen regarding the outbreak’s spread to rural areas like Buhera and Zaka. In response, Zaka District has imposed restrictions on gatherings and markets. Health and Child Care Minister Dr. Douglas Mombeshora acknowledges the need for improved water and sanitation services, especially in urban areas, emphasizing the importance of providing safe drinking water to the population.

As Zimbabwe confronts this fresh cholera outbreak, there is a pressing need for coordinated efforts from all levels of government, improved infrastructure, and transparent governance to prevent future public health crises. The nation stands at a critical crossroads, where the health and well-being of its citizens hang in the balance.- state media

Notorious Gang Attacks Police Boss

A syndicate of suspected fraudsters who allegedly smuggled high end vehicles into the country and evade paying toll gates has been nabbed, with five of the suspects appearing in court this Tuesday.

Terrence Madiro, Aleck Dzepatsva, Brian Matongo, Tinashe Kanda and Elvis Jieman allegedly smuggled different types of high end cars from South Africa and fraudulently acquired exempted number plates for them to have free passage at tollgates and police road blocks.

It is further alleged that the accused worked with some officials from ZIMRA and ZINARA in their shenanigans.

The co-accused, who are facing charges of fraud and smuggling, were remanded in custody pending bail hearing.

Meanwhile, the State has opposed bail for four men who allegedly attacked and seriously injured a Zimbabwe Republic Police CID boss before stealing his firearm.

The Investigating Officer who gave evidence against the accused argued that if released on bail, the quartet is likely to abscond as they are facing serious offences that attract a custodial sentence.

Munyaradzi Chatonzwa, Sydney Rande, Mark Chingondo and Simbarashe Ota allegedly attacked Chief Inspector Alexander Jachi whom they assaulted using unknown objects before they stole his firearm and deflated his car.

The accused are facing charges of attempted murder, theft of a firearm and malicious damage to property.

Mnangagwa “Cancels” Nkomo Aides’ Pay-Outs

By- Tension is rising among former Zipra liberation war collaborators who were vetted in 2021 for their role in the country’s liberation war, but are yet to receive their promised monthly payouts.

The unarmed combatants who provided logistical information and other assistance to armed liberation war fighters battling former Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith’s regime have, since the vetting process, not received any monthly pay-outs unlike their counterparts.
In separate interviews, non-combatant cadres said they were now frustrated over government’s unfulfilled promises.
“The situation is really worrying because now we don’t know what to do. The government made false promises because they wanted our votes and now that we are in the post-election period, they have gone quiet, they are not communicating with us and that is not good,” said a disgruntled non-combatants who refused to be named.
Zipra Veterans Association secretary-general Petros Sibanda confirmed that a number of non-combatant cadres were yet to receive their payments.
“The government has not honoured the promises that it made. We were hoping now that we are done with the elections something would happen, but we have not seen anything, people still haven’t received their dues,” Sibanda said.
“It is not only non-combatants that haven’t received their dues, we also have a lot of war collaborators and also detainees who still haven’t received their dues.”
No comment could be obtained from the War Veterans ministry.
In 1997, war veterans were given lump sums of ZWL$50 000 each after they protested against lack of pensions. This was despite that they had benefitted from yet another lump sum soon after independence in 1980. Newsday

Another ZBC Boss In S*X Scandal

Sexual Harassment Allegations Rock ZBC’s Power FM

Scott Matengambiri, popularly known as DJ Scott and the station manager of ZBC’s Power FM, faces serious trouble amidst allegations of demanding oral sex from a female subordinate. Sources quoted by local site ZimSeen revealed that DJ Scott had repeatedly pestered a young female ZBC employee for sexual favors, citing that he had “given her a job” and it was now time for her to repay him.

When approached for comment, ZBC’s Chief Executive Officer, Adelaide Chikunguru, declined to discuss the scandal, stating, “I am not aware of this conversation (sic),” without elaborating further.

This incident follows the recent suspension of ZBC’s Radio Services Director, Robson Mhandu, who was accused of harassing Farai Jules. Leaked audio recordings captured Mhandu making disturbing threats, sparking concerns over harassment within Zimbabwe’s media landscape.

DJ Scott has now reportedly been suspended pending a formal hearing process regarding the sexual harassment allegations. Internal discussions among ZBC workers suggest that DJ Scott’s actions were driven by an inability to control his sexual impulses toward young subordinates. The victim in this case had also recorded evidence of DJ Scott’s unwanted advances and has sought help in recent weeks due to the distress caused by the radio DJ.

According to a source, “Scott grabbed the girl’s head and tried to force her to give him oral sex, saying he gave her a job, so she must pay back. The case has already been reported to the ZBC Human Resources department. But Scott is going (being fired).”

DJ Scott, who joined Power FM in Gweru in 2002, had only been appointed as the station manager in March of the previous year. Repeated attempts to reach DJ Scott for comment, including questions sent via WhatsApp and phone calls, went unanswered.

Meanwhile, ZimSeen says it had also uncovered another disturbing case involving a male worker at Classic 263 who allegedly demanded sex from a former intern. The intern has since left ZBC and expressed regret for ever working in an organization that she now describes as a “sex haven.”

Sexual harassment has emerged as a pressing issue within the media industry in Zimbabwe, as young individuals find themselves vulnerable to advances from veteran journalists and media managers.

This incident underscores the importance of addressing and preventing sexual harassment in the workplace, with victims urged to follow proper reporting procedures to ensure their safety and seek justice.

Edwards said, as quoted by Luton Today website: “I love that saying, 70 percent of the world is covered by water, the other 30 percent by Marvelous Nakamba, I love that.

“I saw that again the other day, I was laughing to myself, as he’s brilliant.

“He’s some man, he just goes about his business in a real humble way.

“His performance was top the other day, really, really influential.

Lecture In honour of First Catholic Bishop In Bulawayo Commemorated

By A Correspondent| Bulawayo recently paid tribute to Ignatius Arnoz, the inaugural Catholic Bishop of the city, through a lecture and tour that drew over two hundred attendees.

Ignatius Arnoz, a Czech prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, who entered priesthood on July 25, 1910, as a member of the Mill Hill Missionaries, was appointed Senior of the then Mission “Sui Iuris” of Bulawayo in 1931.

During her presentation at the Catholic Archdiocese of Bulawayo, Dr. Marie Imbrová highlighted a historic moment from May 30, 1937, when Czech newspapers buzzed with the news of Mons Dr. Ignatius Arnoz’s appointment as Vicar Apostolic in Bulawayo, capturing the solemnity of his ordination vow.

“Mons Dr. Ignatius Arnož is appointed Vicar Apostolic in Bulawayo. Kneeling, his right hand on the Gospel Book, the future church official is taking his ordination vow,” said Dr. Imbrova.

The event was also attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Michal Novak, Second Secretary of the Czech Republic Embassy in Lusaka and featured a Mass service led by Archbishop Alex Thomas Kaliyanil prior to the lecture.

Dr. Imbrová also recounted how Ignatius Arnoz’s tenure in Bulawayo, spanning from 1931 until his passing in 1950, marked the zenith of his missionary career and destiny.

Arnoz devoted his most productive years to the mission, upheld rigorous moral standards for incoming priests, systematically established new mission stations, developed mission schools with practical skills training, initiated hospitals, and fostered collaboration with local authorities and the international community.

The occasion featured the generous donation of four large panels by the Czech Republic Embassy in Zambia, depicting Ignatius Arnoz’s life and contributions.

These panels will be exhibited at St. Mary’s Basilica, along with a visit to his final resting place at Emphandheni Mission.

Mwonzora Sympathiser In Move To Recall CCC MPs

By A Correspondent

In a stunning turn of events, an official representing Douglas Mwonzora’s faction of the opposition in Zimbabwe, purportedly aligned with the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), has sent a formal letter to the parliament, demanding the recall of several legislators associated with the nation’s popular leader, Nelson Chamisa.

This development coincides with an announcement by Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, who declared his intentions to take punitive actions against Chamisa’s MPs for their absence during President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent parliamentary speech, which was condemned by the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Speaking about the matter, Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi stated yesterday that he had received instructions to penalize MPs affiliated with the CCC. This move raises concerns about the potential political repercussions in Zimbabwe.

Remarkably, this development seems to echo historical patterns, as it appears to be part of a broader strategy by the ruling ZANU PF party. The recall of opposition legislators has been employed as a political tool since November 1980, when Joshua Nkomo’s legislators faced similar challenges, continuing through to 2022 with Nelson Chamisa’s MPs.

Notably, commentator and media lecturer Pedzisai Ruhanya expressed skepticism about the legitimacy of Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the CCC Secretary-General (SG).

Ruhanya alleged that Tshabangu had written to the ZANU PF Speaker of Parliament and the Local Government Minister, purporting to recall CCC MPs and councillors.

Ruhanya asserted that the CCC does not have such a post of SG, insinuating that ZANU PF might be resorting to familiar tactics for political maneuvering. He even displayed the letter in question, raising doubts about its authenticity.

Ruhanya posted on X:

“A former MDC-T and PDP official Sengezo Tshabangu, who purports to be CCC SG has written to ZANU PF Speaker of Parliament and Local Gov Minister purporting to recall CCC MPs, councillors. CCC has no such post of SG. In the past ZANU PF used Dhagi for these dirty games. “

This recent controversy evokes memories of 2019 when Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda faced intense scrutiny. During that time, Simba Chikanza conducted a live, on-camera interview with Mudenda in Belgrade, Serbia, where it was revealed that Mudenda had withdrawn allowances from Nelson Chamisa’s legislators as a punitive measure for walking out during Emmerson Mnangagwa’s speech. This action subsequently led to an indictment for war crimes against Mudenda in Serbia, rendering him unable to return to that country.

As this story unfolds, Zimbabweans are left to ponder the implications of these political maneuvers and their potential impact on the nation’s political landscape. The recall of MPs, the authenticity of documents, and international repercussions loom large as Zimbabwe grapples with this latest chapter in its complex political history.

A comment from Douglas Mwonzora and Mr Sengezo Tshabangu had not been obtained at the time of writing.

CCC disowns imposter Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu

By A Correspondent- Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi has trashed the purported recalls on legislators and councillors by self appointed secretary general of the party Sengezo Tshabangu labelling him an imposter sponsored by the ruling party Zanu PF.

Mkwananzi said this in a tweet where he said:

“We note the desperation by an impostor who is masquerading as a member of CCC. CCC has clear signatories known to ZEC and have the mandate of the party.

These people cannot abuse the name of our leader and the brand of our Party.

Following, a devastating defeat in the election, ZANU PF has resorted to desperate measures in sponsoring impostors to destabilize the party.”

Mkwananzi said this after a former Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) and People’s Democratic Party member Sengezo Tshabangu has written to the Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda and local government minister revealing that the party he is representing, Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) has recalled several of its legislators and councillors.

Tungwarara Booted Off Zim Cyber City Project for Allegedly Swindling Indian Billionaire

By Jane Mlambo| Presidential Investment Advisor Paul Tungwarara has been removed from the Zim Cyber City Project after allegations that he swindled his billionaire partner,Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, of money meant for the project.

An inside source who spoke to this publication said that Tungwarara would use funds that Mulk gave him to make the Zim Cyber City Project a reality for his own personal gain.

“Tungwarara embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mulk until he was caught and removed from the project,” said the source.

“Mulk has since appointed Tendai Mamvura as CEO, who he trusts more than Tungwarara.”

When contacted for comment, Tungwarara denied the allegations, saying: “It’s all lies. I’m still part of the project.”

Tungwarara is no stranger to controversy. He has previously made headlines for overcharging the government on Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme that he is spearheading.

He has also been accused of demanding fuel in Zimbabwean dollars, despite a government directive that restricts trade in fuel to US dollars.

Meanwhile, construction of Zim Cyber City is expected to start soon, with interest from the rich and famous.

Popular cricketer Sikandar Raza has become the first resident of the opulent residence, which is expected to attract the wealthy and elite.

Speaking after purchasing an apartment last week, Raza said:

“I am thrilled to be a part of Zim Cyber City, a groundbreaking initiative that promises to redefine the future of our beloved Zimbabwe. This project represents not only a smart investment but also an opportunity to contribute to the technological and economic growth of our nation.

“As the first resident of Zim Cyber City, I look forward to witnessing its transformation and growth over the coming years. It’s not just about luxury living; it’s about creating a vibrant and innovative community right here in Zimbabwe.

“I believe in the potential of this project to elevate our country’s profile and draw attention from all corners of the world. Zim Cyber City is not just bricks and mortar; it’s a symbol of progress and the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

Is Mnangagwa Killing CCC Officials?

By A Correspondent

There are concerns about the safety of CCC officials following the death of another elected councillor in Zvishavane.

CCC councillor for ward 4, Zvishavane, Cherita Mundoka, died on Tuesday. The cause of her death is yet to be disclosed.

Another CCC councillor for ward 2, Chinhoyi, Patricia Chibaya died mysteriously last week raising fears the Zanu PF regime could be behind suspected elimination of opposition officials.

In a statement on Tuesday CCC said:

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of our change champion and recently elected ward 4 councilor for Zvishavane Town Council, Cherita Mundoka. Despite the unfree, rigged, unfair, and sham electoral conditions, she won the 23 August elections with a wide margin. May her soul rest in peace.”

The party also condemned the incessant persecution of citizens by the Harare regime.

” The regime in Harare persists in persecuting our members. Councilor Chipere from Rusape Ward 1, along with two Polling Agents, has been unjustly arrested on fabricated charges. This ongoing abuse of state institutions must cease. We demand the immediate release of these individuals. “

Mwonzora Official Demands Recall of Nelson Chamisa’s MPs

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | An official representing Douglas Mwonzora’s faction, purportedly aligned with the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), has sent a formal letter to the parliament, demanding the recall of several legislators associated with the nation’s popular leader, Nelson Chamisa.

BREAKING- Self Appointed CCC Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu Recalls MPs, Councillors

By A Correspondent- A former Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) and People’s Democratic Party member Sengezo Tshabangu has written to the Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda and local government minister revealing that the party he is representing, Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) has recalled several of its legislators and councillors.

Five Cholera Cases Reported In Harare As Govt Mulls Handing Water Management Back To ZINWA

A cholera outbreak has hit Harare with five confirmed cases reported so far, health authorities have revealed.

The waterborne disease, which spreads through drinking water or eating food contaminated with the cholera bacterium which causes severe diarrhoea and vomiting, is now endemic in the country.

In a notice, the Harare City Council said three of the cases were linked to Buhera where there was a cholera outbreak last week, while two other cases were contracted from local sources.

“The city would like to inform residents that it has now five confirmed cholera cases in Hopely Zone 5, Stoneridge, Southlands, Granary and Adbernie Mbare. We urge all residents in these affected areas and greater Harare to take necessary precautions to avoid contracting cholera,” council said.

Deputy mayor Kudzai Kadzombe told NewsDay that the council was taking steps to contain the outbreak.

“As a council we are working on increasing water production and our Beatrice Infectious Hospital is actually ready for any case that can arise. We have our employees on standby waiting for any case,” Kadzombe said.

Community Working Group on Health executive director Itai Rusike said recurrent cholera outbreaks were concerning

“Zimbabwe needs to strengthen the primary health care principles and the laws regarding public health which explicitly state that communities have a big role to play in public health, but they need an enabling environment for them to do so effectively,” Rusike said.

Zimbabwe Nurses Association president Enock Dongo urged locals to exercise caution in order to stop the disease from spreading.

“This is a very preventable disease and it can be fatal if not treated. People should practise hygiene. It’s all about washing hands and drinking clean water,” Dongo said.

Meanwhile, the Health and Child Care ministry has banned church camp meetings, open markets, communal beer gatherings among other measures to curb the spread of cholera in Zaka, Masvingo.

The 2008 cholera outbreak, which started in Harare and later spread into neighbouring countries, was the deadliest — killing more than 4 000 people and affecting over 100 000 others.

“Harare City Parking marshalls hide from motorists to facilitate clamping?”

City Parking Pvt Ltd

You guys clearly state that if you park your car and there is no parking Marshall readily available to hand your money , do not leave your car unattended to go and look for the Marshall.

If you want to look for a Marshall leave someone inside the car who is also going to be available to pay given the Marshall comes from a different direction.

How is it that my car was clamped and I had to pay a parking ticket for $57. Because the guys in the blue uniform got to my car while my daughter was waiting for the attendant (and when I say daughter I mean a 27 year old ) with full reasoning capacity.

The guys who clamp arrives and she said “oh here is my money for parking” and he said “ handitambire mari ini ndinongosunga mota” then he says to his counterpart Sunga mota tiende.

I walk up and down looking for them trying to understand what we did wrong. Because we were waiting to pay and we had not been there for 5 minutes.

I find his female counterparts and they call him and ask what happened and he says “ vanga vakarara mumota”

I go to the customer service and they say – well the guys in blue don’t accept money

Where is the justice in this system ?

I have questions.

If the person who was in the car was truly sleeping – how was she able to identify the two people that clamped the car and even explain the direction they were coming from , narrate the whole conversation that happened and still be able to say and when they were done they went in that direction ?

How do you identify more than 5 people in customer service saying your Marshall’s refused to take our money and clamped us ?

Are we wrong for doing what you asked us to do ? Don’t leave the car until you’ve paid for parking ?

If it is possible for the Marshalls that take payment to call the ones that clamp why does it become a problem to call the officer who takes a payment instead of clamping me as if I have refused to pay ?

If you say the only other payment method I can use if the Marshall is not there as stated by your customer service personnel (I have the names I will find where I wrote them down and come back here ) what if my network is not working or I don’t have ecocash to pay ?

To wait for the Marshall means I respect the law that comes with the service you provide.

But it becomes unfair when you believe your Marshall’s are never wrong and if they clamp they are right.

Why would thousands of people come here and complain about the same thing.

Being clamped yet you haven’t refused to pay parking yet they knew they were not guilty.

This is beyond unfair, not only to me but the thousands of other people that are working to try and make ends meet.

Your system literally has no respect or mercy for your clients.

That is why your Marshall’s just lie e.g. they were sleeping.

It’s unfair.

Be clear about your service.

Highlight all the terms and conditions of everything that takes place under what circumstances so that we know exactly what is happening.

Because your rules or laws whatever you want to call them start to contradict each other in a quest to take money from innocent citizens.

Yours.

A very disgruntled customer

Mukudzei Maidza

Sorry for your experience. Totally unfair. If you check, those who clamp vehicles outnumber the cashiers by roughly 5:1 ratio. The other day I overheard them discussing how meeting their clamping revenue targets is very hard if they only stick to far clamping. That one is a rotten system. I now only enter cbd with vehicle when it’s extremely necessary.

Fishponds, nutritional gardens give hope to victims of Cyclone Idai

By A Correspondent- Nyasha Chibvuri (39) dropped  to tears as she narrated the devastating effects of the Cyclone Idai disaster which ravaged Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands four years ago, leaving her and other villagers devastated.

Their only source of income, a fishpond at the heart of the village was not spared by the floods that also claimed the lives of hundreds of villagers and livestock, with thousands also displaced.

“It was a tough time for us, we thought that was the end of us, we were left with nothing,” she recalled.

Despite the traumatic experience, Chibvuri who is now the chairperson of Mhandarume Irrigation Scheme in Chimanimani district, is relieved that the rehabilitation of village fishponds and nutritional gardens have come at the right time for her community.

Today, she leads a group of 71 horticultural farmers who are rehabilitating the irrigation scheme with financial support from United States Agency for International Development through Practical Action.

“We can’t fully explain the excitement among the members because fish is a popular delicacy here and a good source of protein for our families. We had suffered a huge setback because of the destruction to our garden and fishponds but now we have revived our source of food,” she said.

Practical Action supported the group by rehabilitating nine fishponds and irrigation canals that were destroyed by Cyclone Idai-induced floods.

The fishpond rehabilitation initiative is accompanied by stocking them with 10 000 Mozambique Tipalia fingerlings, while the villagers are also supplied with the feed. Each of the eight fishponds has 1 000 fingerlings, while the breeding ponds are stocked with 2 000 fingerlings.

To ensure sustainability of the project, farmers under the scheme have received training on fisheries and aquaculture.

“By December this year, at least a tonne of fish would have been delivered to the market. The thought of being able to feed my four children with improved nutrients, seeing them in decent clothing and being able to pay their school fees is a huge relief,” Chibvuri told NewsDay.

The fishponds had been idle for about four years and had turned into hibernation nests for pests which were now causing havoc in the villagers’ gardens.

The fishpond and nutrition garden rehabilitation programme involved laying new dam liners and re-establishment of irrigation pipes which were swept away during the cyclone.

“After the cyclone, the government reinstalled the irrigation pipeline, but there was no reinforcement along the riverbed. The uneven nature of the terrain reduced the water flow from the river until Practical Action assisted us with blasting of rocks to create a sloping gradient for the pipeline. The flow of water into the irrigation scheme and fishponds has significantly improved. The pipeline has been reinforced and secured with deformed bars drilled into granite rock. Now we are set for production,” added Chibvuri.

She and other villagers are optimistic that the future of the project is now safe.

They are all eager to revive their fish selling business in a few months’ time.

Practical Action field officer John Muusha said fish has provided a good source of protein-rich food for family consumption, while villagers earned extra income from fish sales.

“Unemployed people get working opportunities and eke a living out of fish farming,” said Muusha.

“Fish farming has also helped the proper utilisation of available water resources in the community. Fish is also easier to keep compared to other animals as it reduces environmental disturbance in the community. It also puts less stress on the ecosystem and equally reduces human interference. Fish farming is going to increase the community income and their savings.”

The Resilience Building for Chimanimani Communities project aims to bring back the resilience of communities affected by flooding and drought.

The project is benefitting more than 30 000 people in selected wards of Chimanimani district.

Although she is still nursing emotional wounds caused by the Cyclone Idai-induced floods, the rehabilitation of Mhandarume Irrigation Scheme has brought smiles on the faces of Chibvuri and other villagers in Chimanimani.

Mliswa Attacks CCC Over SONA Boycott

By A Correspondent| In a scathing rebuke, Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa condemned the decision of CCC MPs to boycott today’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by President Mnangagwa.

Mliswa characterized the move as “another shortsighted and theatrical tantrum,” asserting that it achieves nothing and only serves as an “unwholesome genuflection to the spirit of activism.”

He underscored that such actions betray the CCC’s obligation to their constituents, who anticipate meaningful work and representation.

“It’s staggering how the irony of the whole move is escaping them. The MPs are a product of the same process that produced President Mnangagwa as a winner. If they were sincere in their claims against the elections, they should have refused to be sworn in first as MPs!

“This nihilistic activism that wants to drag everyone& everything into the mud unless and until they get what they want is anti-development and unprogressive. Either you accept the wins& losses or you dump both the wins and the losses. You can’t be nitpicking at your convenience,” said Mliswa.

CCC legislators yesterday boycotted the State of the Nation Address (SONA) citing the 23 August elections which they said was a sham process.

Daring trio who stole OPC registration plates hauled to court

By A Correspondent- Three daring Harare car dealers, who allegedly smuggled posh vehicles and fixed them with stolen registration plates from the Office of the President and Cabinet’s (OPC) counter intelligence unit before selling them to unsuspecting clients, yesterday appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei facing fraud charges.

Edmore Manyonda, a director at Geoscape Properties, Shepherd Hove and Simbarashe Blessing Matinyarare were remanded in custody to today for bail hearing.

According to court papers, sometime in May, Manyonda smuggled three motor vehicles, a Ford Ranger Supertrak,  Ford Ranger Stormtrek  and  KIA truck.

It is said in an effort to conceal the illicit deal, Hove and Matinyarare supplied Manyonda with four vehicle registration number plates belonging to the OPC’s counter  intelligence unit.

It is alleged that when Hove and Matinyarare supplied the registration plates, they knew that the vehicles were not entitled to such registration plates.

Manyonda then fixed the stolen registration number plates on the smuggled vehicles.

The three vehicles were recovered together with the said registration plates.

The State alleges that as a result of the fraud, the government was prejudiced of approximately US$133 500 in potential revenue from import duty.-Newsday

War vets tensions haunt ED gvt

By A Correspondent- Tension is rising among former Zipra liberation war collaborators who were vetted in 2021 for their role in the country’s liberation war, but are yet to receive their promised monthly payouts.

“It is not only non-combatants that haven’t received their dues, we also have a lot of war collaborators and also detainees who still haven’t received their dues.”-newsday

‘Passion Java Prophesies Own Death While Threatening Chamisa’

*Passion Java Prophesies His Own Death?**

By Farai D Hove | The controversial 35-year-old ZANU PF propagandist, Passion Java, has seemingly prophesied his own demise. Java, who has recently been embroiled in a series of controversies, including threats against national figures, is now at the center of another storm.

Just four days ago, Passion Java was urged to seek prayers for his life after he made threatening remarks against CCC President Nelson Chamisa, journalist Simba Chikanza, and, most notably, the Bulawayo-based preacher, Ian Ndlovu, who had called for prayers on his behalf.

Within 24 hours of his latest public outburst, Passion Java took to social media to announce yet another provocative statement, this time targeting Nelson Chamisa. He stated that if he were to die, it would be Nelson Chamisa who would be buried. However, the threat has sparked controversy due to its ambiguous translation, as some have interpreted it to mean that Passion Java will be buried upon his death.

“Why is no one looking at the translation?” questioned one Facebook user, as the printed text read, “if I die, I will be buried. Be blessed.”

This development unfolds amid a public feud between Passion Java and singer Baba Harare, whom he mocked for allegedly using AI software to create artwork for his latest album. During a live program last week, Java taunted, “But Baba Harare told you to download the Medorange App, what’s taking you time to get your medication?”

Passion Java gained notoriety through his association with religion and quickly ascended to the upper echelons of ZANU PF, much to the dismay of senior war veterans who argue that he is undeserving. Java is known for his frequent posts of ZANU PF and pro-Mnangagwa propaganda, often engaging in satirical and mocking content against perceived enemies on social media.

The cryptic statement by Passion Java has left many puzzled, and it remains to be seen whether this is a genuine prophecy or another provocative stunt in his ongoing controversies.

THE Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has revoked licences and permits for 10 pharmaceutical firms that have been illegally trading in counterfeit and unregistered substances which are fueling rampant drug abuse in the country.

Although government through the MCAZ banned the sale and use of unregistered medicines like Bronclear cough syrup while controlling the sale of syrups which contain codeine, the medicines have flooded the streets, prompting the regulatory body to launch an investigation.

“MCAZ‘s primary responsibility is to regulate medicines and medical devices in Zimbabwe. Through our robust regulatory framework, we ensure that only safe, effective and quality medicines are available on the market.

“By doing so, we aim to prevent the circulation of counterfeit drugs and unregistered substances that can contribute to drug abuse. In this regard the authority has revoked six permits for wholesale dealers and cancelled four persons’ licences who were promoting abuse of Histalix, a locally produced cough mixture containing codeine by illegally selling it at Mbare and places like Chitungwiza and others were exporting to Zambia and Mozambique,” said MCAZ Head Licencing and Enforcement Division, Mrs Caroline Dandira-Samatanga.

The authority has also put in place mechanisms to control availability of codeine-containing medicines through ensuring they are only dispensed to patients with valid prescriptions.

This year alone a total of 17 pharmacies have had their licences revoked as government intensifies the fight to curb drug abuse.

The pharmacies include Bestpharm Pharmaceuticals, Adept Pharmaceuticals, Maturity Pharmaceuticals, Action 24 Medical Suppliers and Medserve Pharmacy, among others.

Zanu PF Regime Totally Destroys Country

Statement released by the Citizens Coalition for Change

NO TO ANOTHER 5 YEARS OF LOOTING:

The recent establishment of the Mutapa Investment Fund by the Harare regime warrants condemnation from all citizens.

This fund was not created to benefit the country’s economy or its citizens; instead, it serves as another scheme for looting that provides personal benefits to Mr. Mnangagwa, his relatives, and their close associates.

It is alarming to note that over 20 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are now under the control of this illegal and fraudulent Investment Fund.

And these SOEs will not be subjected to the regulations outlined in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act. It is critical that we voice our disapproval and advocate for fresh elections to prevent further misuse of power. #NotAnother5Years #FreshElectionsZW
