MDC T vice presidents and national leaders snub Mwonzora in his poorly attended National consultative meetings
As Boaz aka Polite Musarurwa who is Mwonzora’s propagandist writes a detailed report on the factional fights in MDC T
1 November 2021
Wezhira Munya
Today, Boaz popularly known as Polite Musarurwa gives juice details on the factional battles in MDC T led by Mwonzora. For more details read: Boas article attached at the end of this article.
Most MDC T members of Parliament and councillors are making efforts to join MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa as #Ngaapinde hake mukomana gathers momentum#
Boaz has been assigned by Mwonzora to attack MDC T vice Presidents Khupe and Mudzuri.
Mudzuri and Khupe are fighting Mwonzora because he has failed to call for ordinary congress to elect new MDC T president and other leaders as per party constitution.
According to Boaz’s message that was posted on MDC T WhatsApp groups such as MDC 2014 structure: Khupe , Mudzuri , national members, members of Parliament and councillors are snubbing Mwonzora’s provincial tours.
Boas said, current poor attendence at MDC T provincial meetings being addressed by Mwonzora is caused by MDC T national leadership sabotage.
Mwonzora has been addressing few people and this has made him very angry.
Boas’ article titled Cash Talk have the following juice information :
Khupe and Mudzuri are ungrateful after being appointed by Mwonzora. Mwonzora won through rigging MDC T presidency at extraordinary congress. Khupe was beaten by Mwonzora thugs. Boas argued that, MDC T vice presidents must accompany Mwonzora wherever he goes as a way to repay Mwonzora after appointing them. In all provincial meetings addressed by Mwonzora, Khupe and Mudzuri never attended.
Boas said, “Vice President Khupe and Mudzuri think they came from heaven and they are ALWAYS FIGHTING THE PRESIDENT- Mwonzora“
In addition, Boas further commented that , Khupe is negotiating with MDC Alliance to revive her political career. Boas assertions show deep rooted suspicions and scheming among MDC T top leaders . Boas urged Khupe to follow Mwonzora wherever he goes, like what she used to do during late President Tsvangirai.
Contacted for comment , MDC T founder member Mr Mashumba said,
“Mwonzora is unpopular and he became the president after rigged MDC T congress. How does he expect Dr Khupe to work with her after violently beating her.”
Also , another MDC T national member who refused to be named said, “Mudzuri does not like Mwonzora . Mwonzora cannot used appointment issue to force Mudzuri to attend useless provincial meetings.”
In addition, Boas holds that, Khupe , Mudzuri and Members of Parliament are enjoying cars and fuel coupons they get because of Mwonzora.
One MDC T member of Parliament said, “Mwonzora is mad. We won elections under MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa. President Chamisa’s popularity made us members of Parliament. Even Mwonzora benefitted from MDC Alliance after he was appointed senator by President Chamisa. It’s only that we joined MDC T led by Mwonzora because of fear of recalls. Surely you shall see all members of Parliament going to MDC Alliance led by President Chamisa.”
Most MDC T councilors and members of Parliament know that Mwonzora is unpopular as a result they snub his meetings.
Boas further explained that Mwonzora is using Honda fit or old red Mercedes Benz as he travels to provincial meetings. Mwonzora was using Vincent Tsvangirai’s car but Vincent is nolonger giving Mwonzora his car. Vincent’s car is experiencing many breakdowns due to poor service.
Boas also attacks National women assembly chairperson, national youth chairperson and national structures for snubbing Mwonzora provincial consultative meetings.
Most MDC T members are against consultative meetings where Mwonzora is seeking permission to postpone 2023 elections to form Government of National Unity with Zanu PF.
In Manicaland- Mutare yesterday , very people attended Mwonzora meeting in Beit hall. This show that Mwonzora who comes from Manicaland does not have support in his home area.
Mwonzora’s MDC T is regarded as Zanu PF proxy. MDC T meetings are cleared by police and Zanu PF thugs do not disrupt MDC T meetings.
Contrary, MDC Alliance meetings are disrupted by police and Zanu PF. In Masvingo, Manicaland and Mashonaland East MDC Alliance President Chamisa and his team were attacked, injured and their cars where damaged by bullets.
Mwonzora thugs violently disrupted MDC T vice president Khupe aid Mr Kudzanai Mashumba’s press conference where he wanted to inform the world how Mwonzora stole part funds, conflicts in MDC T presidium and other issues.
Below is BOAS article attacking MDC T vice presidents.
CASH TALK
MDC-T now needs faithful leaders who when they get positions either through appointments from the President or your name is submitted to ZEC to replace wayward Senators, Mps , Councillors.
Many of those who are now Senators Mps or Councillors are behaving the same way as those that were recalled . As soon as they take their positions their behavior changes to wickedness . If you are trusted with a position by the President it’s an error to behave as if it your own effort that made you become what you are now. The President is the door that made you become what you are … without him you are nothing.
Where is the National Youths Assembly Chairperson ?
Where is the National Women Assembly Chairperson?
Why are the National Structures leaving the President to move alone?
Where are the Vice Presidents…you forget you were appointed as VPs because the President trusted you as running mates.
Vice President Thokozani Khupe and Mudzuri think they came from heaven and they are ALWAYS FIGHTING THE PRESIDENT
As for Vice President Thokozani Khupe we know you will continue behaving like this until 2023. We now have a few people which you are using as bargain chips trading with Nelson Chamisa for him to rescue your evil political career
Go back to your first love , you used to follow the president where ever he is addressing rallies or meetings…..that time maybe you didn’t have the vehicles but you SACRIFICED and you were always with him .
As soon as you were appointed and you received vehicles to use ….you now snubbing the President leaving him go Province by Province alone
The President stays in HARARE province ..there are Mps, Senators , Councillors who are too busy to be involved in anything the President is doing…..to the extent that he he will no choice but hire vehicles or move in a Honda fit or the old red Mercedes Benz …or wait for someone to come from South Africa Province to drive the President.
During the days of President Morgan Tsvangirai you were all over around him some giving all your fuel coupons and your vehicles some donating cattle to the President .. The same grace that was upon PRESIDENT Morgan Tsvangirai is the same grace upon PRESIDENT Douglas Mwonzora…. But the way all councilors, Mps Senators Vps , Standing Committee members behave leaves a lot to be desired.
The President can’t address a meeting in your Province but you prefer not to attend. I was so touched with what Honourable Denga SACRIFICED to be there in his Province because the President was going to his Province not to attend a political meeting but a MEMORIAL SERVICE organised by church. Hon Denga was at his farm either Chinhoyi or Chivhu but he left his farm to be with the PRESIDENT.
Where are you hiding , if you are an Mp , Senator or Councillor…. Don’t expect the President to beg you . People on the ground in structures are watching.
You all know the President is supposed to move Province by Province consulting the electorate that gave MDC-T leaders the mandate to lead and seek NATIONAL DIALOGUE but you don’t bother knowing how he gets there or who is there and what is happening is non of your business. That’s unGodly to undermine your father
The problem is how you are behaving towards the President is how people will behave towards you even worse than that.
You are in opposition to monitor and give alternative ideas and solutions to what the government of the day is doing….. This is what people in structures are doing … they have alternative and better ways of how an Mp , Senator or Councillor must behave
The same goes to everyone in the standing committee , National Executive and National COUNCIL…..why are you only appearing at meetings only and not moving with the PRESIDENT…..that’s why your meetings take too many hours but few resolutions which you don’t implement because you prefer to isolate yourselves from what the President is doing.
To those who prefer to support the President openly and FAITHFULLY may God Increase your territory

ED Declares Zanu PF’s 2023 Victory
By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared a Zanu-PF victory two years ahead of the general elections, telling party supporters at the just-ended annual conference in Bindura that his party will elbow out the opposition from all urban councils.
The opposition MDC Alliance has won in most towns and cities in recent previous elections, with Zanu-PF’s stay in power predicated on its rural strongholds.
However, Mnangagwa told the party faithful that he had already sealed the 2023 victory.
“The mantra musangano kumacell (the party is stronger in cells) will undoubtedly see us predetermine and realise our resounding 2023 harmonised general election victory. The organisational reach of our party must continue to widen, capturing the greater part of our nation. We are, indeed, winning our election before election date,” Mnangagwa said.
He then blasted urban councils led by the opposition, describing them as corrupt and incompetent.
“Residents in urban areas have been abused by corrupt and incompetent opposition elements, and it is time for them to go,” he said.
But MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere dismissed Mnangagwa’s 2023 electoral victory claims, saying tables will turn in favour of opposition MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa.
“The opposition party is going to win the 2023 elections, and it is going to do so resoundingly. We are currently carrying out an intensive voter registration campaign in villages, towns and cities to ensure we galvanise six million citizens to vote for change,” she said.
“We are mobilising the citizens to turn out to vote in their millions and defend that vote vigilantly.
“We are building a polling agent defence system to ensure the vote is protected from rigging through a polling station-based mobilisation and monitoring programme.”
Mahere said the opposition was not sitting on its laurels and would run the biggest electoral campaign that the country has never witnessed.
“We will run the biggest electoral campaign that’s never been seen in the region and ultimately win Zimbabwe for change. This is why our new candidate selection procedures will give communities the power to decide which leaders will represent them,” she
said.
The Zanu-PF camp feels that it is gaining traction on the diplomatic front after Mnangagwa was invited to COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, in the United Kingdom (UK).
Mnangagwa, who flew out to Scotland yesterday, told delegates at his party conference that he would likely meet British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in what he described as a diplomatic victory for his government.
“I travel to Glasgow in the United Kingdom after over two decades have passed without Zimbabwean leadership going to the UK. I have been invited by Boris Johnson and he has indicated he might meet me in Glasgow one-on-one as well as other leaders like Prime Minister of India (Narendra Modi), and we will be meeting others on Monday or Tuesday,” he said.
Mnangagwa claimed Zanu-PF had been vindicated by the report released on Thursday by the United Nations special rapporteur Alena Douhan, who said targeted sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union were affecting Zimbabwe.
“We should congratulate ourselves that we have never been wrong and we shall continue always being right,” he said.
“And those who have been found outside the law should reckon and take their position.”-Newsday

Beer ‘Poachers’ Must Be Chased Away Or Forcibly Removed From Pubs
People who frequent bars and night clubs begging for beer must be chased away and if they resist the outlet’s order, the police can be called to forcibly remove them, and this is just one of the raft of laws set up to control bars and public drinking.
In the event that those soliciting free beer fail to cooperate, such characters are charged for a defined criminal offence that prescribes imprisonment of up to 12 months.
The law has always been there, but police officers have not been enforcing it much, a development that saw what are known as beer poachers disturbing patrons’ peace at beer outlets.
In most high density suburbs, beer poachers are known characters, who frequent bars and bottle stores without any money, but seeking to solicit beer.
Section 79(1)(3) of the Liquor Act empowers the outlet managers or staffers to order the beer poachers off the premises. It stipulates that:
“(1) A licensee or approved manager or an agent or employee of a licensee or approved manager may refuse to admit to, or may turn out of, the licensed premises in respect of which he is the licensee or approved manager any person . . . who habitually frequents licensed premises for the purpose of soliciting drink;
“(2) All police officers in uniform are required, on the request of the licensee or approved manager or the agent or employee of the licensee or approved manager, to expel or assist in expelling every person referred to in subsection (1) from the licensed premises concerned and may use such force as may be reasonably necessary for that purpose.”
The same law empowers the beer outlets to refuse to serve beer to someone who is already visibly drunk and allows them to order the violent and quarrelsome off the premises.
In terms of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, those who defy police orders to vacate the beer outlets can be charged for disorderly conduct, an offence which attracts a prison term of up to 12 months.
Legal experts debated the relevance of the law, with some describing it as archaic.
A Harare lawyer who spoke on condition of anonymity said those who do not have money for beer should not be allowed to disturb patrons.
Soliciting for beer is an old misdemeanour known not only by the colonial regime, but even in traditional circles.
The prohibited conduct is unlike being a beggar who out of necessity is not accused of any crime because neighbourliness dictates that people help the needy.
On the contrary, an indigent fellow citizen benefits nothing from getting drunk.
“So, the offence creating provision is not only good to inhibit public nuisance, but largely protects the offender from harassing fellow imbibers while perpetuating his own poverty,” said the lawyer. “Those who love drinking must work hard to enjoy drinks rather than canvassing for beer.”
South Africa-based Zimbabwean lawyer Mrs Tambudzai Gonese-Manjonjo said the law was no longer relevant.
“I think the provision is archaic and paternalistic and it’s purpose is not clear,” she said.
“How would you go about knowing about somebody’s drinking habits unless you follow them around?”
While the problem mostly affects bars in the high density suburbs, some city clubs and bars have introduced measures to ensure that only serious patrons enter their premises.
Some clubs have introduced entry fees to ensure that people who enter can at least afford to buy one or two drinks.
Pablos Sports Bar representative Mr Lyndon Kapuya supported the law, although he said their club had no problems of beer poachers.
“The law remains relevant because those who come to solicit for beer may make patrons uncomfortable,” he said. “Some bars and clubs complain of such characters, but at Pablos we are so fortunate because our patrons have not yet complained of solicitors.”
The Liquor Act prohibits the sale of liquor to drunk people. Licensed premises where liquor is sold are empowered to turn away or eject from their premises people who are visibly drunk or who are violent, quarrelsome or offensive.
Bar managers and employees have a duty to sell liquor to patrons who can still handle their drink.
It is irresponsible to sell or continue selling alcohol to people who have clearly reached their limits. This preserves the integrity of the drinking place and the other patrons.
Licensed premises where alcohol is consumed operate within strict guidelines and times which must be adhered to.
Section 80 prohibits the consumption of alcohol later than 30 minutes after the stipulated closing time, to allow enough time to finish the last drink ordered before closing time.
The selling outlet must give sufficient warning to patrons of their intention to stop selling liquor and to close.
Selling alcohol beyond the allowed time stated in their liquor licence is an offence. Outlets in breach risk penalties such as suspension or cancellation of their licences.
The law also prohibits selling liquor to children and children are not permitted to enter licensed premises in which alcohol is sold. That is in terms of Section 84 of the Liquor Act.
The adults facilitating any such prohibited conduct by minors are liable for prosecution.
According to the same Act, no beer should be given for free. All liquor should be sold unless it is done within reason for promotions such as sampling or prizes.
Similarly credit sales of alcohol are strictly prohibited in terms of Section 81. The sale of alcohol other than for immediate payment is prohibited.

JUST IN: ZINASU Leader Allan Moyo Acquitted
After spending more than two months in remand prison for allegedly calling for a revolt against President Mnangagwa’s govt, Allan Moyo, a pro-democracy campaigner and University of Zimbabwe student is now a free man after he was removed from remand on 27 October by Magistrate Barbra Mateko.
This came after Moyo’s lawyer Obey Shava applied for the removal of his client from remand as the State was not ready to commence trial since he was arrested in December.
The State was advised to summon Moyo to appear in court if it intends to continue with prosecuting him on charges of participating in a gathering with intent to promote public violence, breaches of the peace or bigotry as defined in section 37(1)(b) of the Criminal Law (Codification & Reform) Act.

Elections Official Caught Red-handed Stuffing Marked Ballots
By A Correspondent- An elections official in South Africa was reportedly caught committing electoral fraud on Sunday, a few hours before the country was due to hold municipal elections.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa in KwaZulu-Natal said it had roped in the police to investigate allegations that one of its presiding officers was allegedly caught stuffing marked ballots into a ballot box.
It was not immediately clear which party the officer was trying to aid by committing the alleged offence and whether he has been relieved of his or her crucial role. The Commission said on Sunday:
In Ward 93, Kusakusa Primary School, in the Mbumbulu area in eThekwini Metro Municipality, a presiding officer was allegedly discovered by party agents, stuffing marked ballot papers into a ballot box.
This remains an allegation and SAPS are still investigating. Members of the media will be updated as soon as the full report is received from SAPS.
The first electoral official to be convicted (for five years) for electoral fraud post-1994 was Sindisiwe Ncube of Ulundi.
In the 2009 general elections, Ncube was allegedly caught stuffing marked ballots and the ballots were allegedly in favour of the IFP.-IOL

Teachers Unions Vow To Fight Salary Cut
By A Correspondent- Teachers unions yesterday vowed to take legal action against government for withholding salaries of their members who were not reporting for work because of “incapacitation”.
Some teachers claim they have gone for 10 months without salary after headmasters forwarded their names to the Public Service and Labour ministry for not reporting for duty. The unions told NewsDay that the move was unconstitutional.
Educators Union in Zimbabwe president Tafadzwa Munodawafa said the union had started processes to seek legal recourse.
“We have two such cases as a union and we have forwarded them to our lawyers,” Munodawafa said.
In a statement yesterday, Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Takavafira Zhou said:
“(Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister Paul) Mavima must be schooled to respect the law so that should he assume that teachers have absconded from work as he did, he must order the Primary and Secondary Education ministry to summon teachers for hearings rather than use the colonial Master and Servant Act to dock teachers’ salaries under a misplaced ruse of ‘no work, no pay’.
“We, therefore, want to overemphasise the point that the so-called absenteeism must be clearly taken in its proper perspective of incapacitation. We, therefore, urge teachers whose salaries have been docked to contact unions of their choice in order to embark on natural justice in defence of the teaching profession.”
Zhou also warned school heads deliberately frustrating teachers by submitting their names to government to have their salaries docked.
“A considerable number of some school heads are also Nicodemously sending names of teachers to education offices without the courtesy of informing teachers who are surprised to find themselves without pay on payday. The system is also used to settle old scores in schools.”
He urged teachers whose salaries were docked to check the reasons that were cited by their school heads.
Zimbabwe Teachers Association secretary-general Goodwill Taderera said:
“There is Matsine Secondary School in Wedza where teachers’ salaries were docked and Zimta is encouraging other unions to come on board to defend the rights of teachers because it’s what we exist to do.”
Amalgamated rural teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Obert Masaraure said:
“It is true that government has docked salaries of our members who are ordinarily incapacitated and failing to report for duty. It is not because they don’t want to, but it is because they are not capacitated. We don’t want to rely on the courts of law because we know the law has never favoured the working class.”
He said his union would mobilise forces to resist exploitation of teachers through protests targeting examination time.
Primary and Secondary Education ministry spokesperson Taungana Ndoro recently told NewsDay that minister Evelyn Ndlovu promised to improve the conditions of service of teachers.

“Traditional Leaders Are Not Bound By Constitution”: Charumbira
By A Correspondent- Chiefs’ Council president Fortune Charumbira has claimed that traditional leaders were not bound by the Constitution because the chieftainship institution was in existence before the country’s charter was crafted.
After telling delegates at the Zanu-PF annual conference that chiefs would not leave the ruling party, he told NewsDay yesterday that he was openly violating the Constitution because chiefs could not be bound by any law as their institution was there before laws were made.
“What Constitution? What came first, the Constitution or the chiefs? We came first as chiefs before the Constitution,” he said.
“I exhausted that in my speech and all those criticising me do not know anything,” he added while insisting there was nothing amiss about his declaration of support for Zanu-PF.
On Friday last week, Charumbira told delegates at the Zanu-PF conference in Bindura that the traditional leaders were the owners of the party.
“We come as owners of the party. The reason for the existence of Zanu-PF is all about traditional leadership and it is about injustice,” Chief Charumbira said.
Chapter 15.2 of the Constitution stipulates that traditional leaders are not allowed to bear allegiance to any political party or to participate in partisan politics.
Zanu-PF secretary for legal affairs Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana claimed that although chiefs were not allowed to dabble in politics, they had a right to express their views.
“They are saying they associate themselves with the philosophies which underpin Zanu-PF. Every political party can also articulate its philosophies in line with what the traditional leaders want,” he said.
“They are not supposed to interfere in the political space, but they have a right to participate and associate themselves with a political party of their choice. You have to balance between the right to interfere in the political space and express a view which is in line with a particular political part.”-newsday

“Time Is Ripe For Engage In Dialogue”
By Wilbert Mukori- Zanu PF invited the UN Special rapporteur to investigate the negative impact of sanctions on the ordinary people. The regime hoped the rapporteur would confirm its claim that sanctions were the root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown. She did not find any evidence to support this narrative and thus dismissed the sanctions narrative as a “rhetorical and advocacy tool” to draw attention away from the real causes.
“Time is ripe for the sanctioning states and key national stakeholders to engage in a meaningful structured dialogue on political reform, human rights and the rule of law and abandon rhetoric on sanctions as an advocacy tool,” said Alena Douhan, the UN rapporteur.
Zimbabwe is in serious economic trouble with unemployment sitting at 90%, basic services such as education and health care all but collapsed, 49% of our people now live in abject poverty, etc. The country is now standing at the very edge of the precipitous abyss. We need to step back now before it is too late.
We need to address the real causes of the country’s economic meltdown; the gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and the country’s failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. It is the latter, the failure to hold free elections, which is at the very heart of our economic and political mess – the nation has been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF regime for 41 years and counting because the party rigged elections!
Zimbabwe’s next elections in 2023 must be free, fair and credible and for this to happen all the democratic reforms to dismantle the the Zanu PF dictatorship must be implemented. Not even one token reform has been implemented and, with less than two years to go to the 2023 elections, no reforms will be implemented.
Indeed, ZEC has failed to make the voters’ roll available for public scrutiny during the on-going voter registration and so there will be no verified voters’ roll for the 2023 elections.
Zanu PF has denied 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote, sometime President Mnangagwa had promised in 2018. The party argues there would be no diaspora vote as long as the sanctions imposed by the West remain. Why the ordinary Zimbabweans are being punished for something over which they have no say beggars belief.
It is clear already that Zanu PF is rigging these elections. How can there be free, fair and credible elections without a verified voters’ roll? How can the elections be legal when one contestant is allowed to cherry pick the voters, denying 3 million in the diaspora the vote out of 8 million voters or 37%.
Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections in advance and therefore the process can and must be condemned in advance.
Zimbabwe will need a GNU, post 2023 elections, whose primary task will be to finally implement the democratic reforms and hold the nation’s first ever free, fair and credible elections.
Mnangagwa et al will be fighting hard to force sanctions and other trivial issues back on the national agenda.
The cold reality is Zimbabwe is in serious economic and political trouble; 41 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule have left the country in economic ruins, unemployment has soared to 90%, basic services such as education and health care have all but collapsed, 49% of the population now live in abject poverty.
Zimbabwe is standing on the edge of the precipitous abyss. The country desperately needs to stop and step back. We need to address the root causes of the country’s economic and political problems and not waste time on rhetorical sanctions.
In UN language, UN special rapporteur has rebuked President Emmerson Mnangagwa, his cronies and apologists to stop wasting time on rhetorical sanctions could have been even more explicit in her condemnation of the regime’s failure to address mismanagement, corruption and, most important of all, to hold free, fair and credible elections.
The human suffering in Zimbabwe and the country’s economic and political stability are at stake; this is not the time for diplomatic niceties!

1/2 A Million Youths Skip Zim Borders In One Year
By A Correspondent- Over half a million young people have left the country for greener pastures in 2020 alone, a recent International Labour Organisation (ILO) report has established.
The report, titled Labour Market Diagnostic Analysis (LMDA), states that the number does not consider net migration, which has been negative, with numerous workers leaving the country in search of better work opportunities in neighbouring countries and further afield. The report says:
It is estimated that in 2020, net migration the number of immigrants minus the number of emigrants was close to 580 000 people. Although there is no accurate data on the number of the working-age population, leaving the country to work abroad.
The most recent study suggests that 72% of outgoing migrants fall in the 20 to 34 years age group. In addition, 40% were women and 73% completed secondary education.
The majority of emigrants cited a lack of employment opportunities as the major reason for leaving the country. Most worked in the agricultural sector before their departure. South Africa was the leading destination chosen by emigrants, followed by Botswana.
Unfortunately, due to their irregular status, most Zimbabwean emigrants appear to occupy low-quality jobs characterised by the absence of employment contracts and social protection.
The report observes that other things being equal, women and young workers are four times more likely to be inactive than men and adult workers respectively.
Youth who enter the labour market may also face additional barriers to finding a job, partly due to a lack of work experience, difficulties signalling their skills to employers, fewer opportunities to access capital and lower levels of social capital.

The Secretary-General post was won by Mthulisi Hanana with 590 votes, against Vuyani Hlazo who polled 54 votes.
Former Deputy Secretary for International Relations, Future Msebele grabbed the Treasurer General post with 152 votes against Grace Noko with 90 votes, Bongani Halimane with 79 votes and Khethiwe Silundika with 79 votes as well.

Zimbabwean artiste Darlington Mhofela Tanganyika, a Chimurenga music enthusiast will lead his Journey Band to warm up the stage for Mukanya.
Wheel spinners Charlieban, Mr Gee Warrior 1, DJ Mytee Dolla and DJ Stramma will take turns on the decks, playing mostly Zimbabwean old school, including Chimurenga music during the interlude.
Rico Myers will be the director of ceremonies.
Tanganyika, who was among a galaxy of Zimbabwean musicians that warmed the stage for Mukanya at Ekurhuleni Boksburg Hotel two years ago, said he was ready for the big day..
“I have always wanted these kinds of platforms to showcase what I am made of,” said Tanganyika.
“I will use this opportunity to sing some songs on my forthcoming album titled Here.
“The last time I performed at Sekuru Mukanya’s show we hinted at collaborations and I am sure this time around, we will work on something.”
Mukanya confirmed to Standard Style that he was going to South Africa for the show.
“I want to tell my fans in South Africa that Thomas Mapfumo is coming there for two shows,” Mukanya said from his base in Oregon, the United States.
“I am ready for the shows and I assure you of good performances from the Blacks Unlimited.
“Come in your numbers and you will enjoy every minute of it.”
Mukanya seems to have fallen in love with South Africa having performed before a full house during his two-legged concert at Ekurhuleni Boksburg Hotel outside Johannesburg.
This time he assured fans a savour of songs from his forthcoming album.
“I am bringing with me new songs from my forthcoming album, which I will play during the shows,” Mukanya said.
“I am looking forward to perform in Zimbabwe before the end of the year that is if I get offers. I have always wanted to perform in Zimbabwe, that is my home and I know many fans miss my live performances.

What Type Of Flue Is This That’s Hit Bulawayo?
A flu outbreak has hit Bulawayo resulting in hundreds of children seeking medication, a development which experts say is a result of fluctuating weather patterns.
The flu which is an upper respiratory tract infection usually resolve within seven to 10 days but has Covid-19 like symptoms which put a lot of parents and guardians in panic mode.
Some children also vomit and lose appetite and parents are saying the symptoms cannot be cleared by over-the-counter medication.
In an interview Bulawayo director of Health Services Dr Edwin Sibanda said the flu is a common viral infection that affects the nose, throat and airways.
“There is an outbreak of the upper respiratory tract infection and its affecting many children in Bulawayo but I do not have the exact numbers now. There were suspicious that the the flu was infact Covid-19,” said Dr Sibanda.
He said those with the flu have Covid-19 like symptoms although there would be differences in severity.
“Residents should take their children to health centres though under normal circumstances flu goes away without treatment. This flu due to weather changes has been spreading easily,” he said.
Dr Sibanda said the problem with respiratory symptoms and flu in particular, is that there are no
confirmatory tests being done to know what bug exactly is going around.
“With the changes in weather, it is expected that these symptoms will increase. The prevention measures are the same as for Covid-19, it’s a matter of strengthening what we are doing for Covid-19,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Microbiology Reference Laboratory said influenza testing had been halted in Zimbabwe due to shortages of test kits.
Covid-19 pandemic according to the lab has given rise to the need for surveillance of other Influenza viruses.
“The National Microbiology Reference Laboratory has capacity through existing infrastructure to test for all Influenza viruses.
Influenza screening has not been routinely done at NMRL due to lack of test kits. A kit that has been recently donated by WHO for initial surveillance of influenza was used to screen a few samples that have been coming in. However, the kit lacks independent validation in-country hence the need to send samples for confirmatory testing at the Regional Influenza Surveillance Network Laboratory in South Africa,” read the statement.
“There is also need to have commercial panels of Influenza strains so as to enable in country evaluations of Influenza PCR kits. Influenza A is known to cause common colds and is commonly associated with seasonal outbreaks hence the need to build local capacity for Influenza screening.”
The NBRL said there is also need to mobilise resources for sequencing to enable identification of the actual strain responsible for the reported illnesses.
A parent Ms Sinikiwe Ncube said she had to rush her two-year-old daughter to the doctor after failing to contain the cold with over-the-counter medication.
“At first I thought her temperature was rising due to the clothes she was wearing as weather conditions changed within hours. She then had a running nose and after using the usual remedy, I went to the doctor who confirmed there was a bug making rounds in the city,” she said.
Ms Ncube said the cold can clear and then resurface after a few days and her daughter has been taking treatment non stop for two months.
“Sometimes she can start vomiting and I now understand that it is part of symptoms affecting her,” she said.
Mrs Lynet Nyandoro said the fluctuating weather conditions left her twin sons unable to attend school for more than a week.
“I was convinced that my children had Covid-19 as they were weak and sickly which was worsened by the fact that most over the counter medications did not work. The nurses finally told me there is a prevalent bug affecting under-fives. I was relieved when they both tested negative for Covid-19,” said Mrs Nyandoro. -Chronicle

MDC Alliance Youth Assembly In Bikita Recruitment Drive
31-10-2021
The MDC Alliance Youth Assembly recruitment juggernaut yesterday invaded Nehanda Business Centre, Bikita East Constituency in Masvingo Province.
Running under the #One Million Campaign, the Assembly is using sport as a recruitment and mobilization tool with a strong focus on rural youths.
We are building a strong rural base of youths who are conscious of the economic, social and political questions of the day.
At least more than a thousand new members were recruited yesterday with a view to convert the numbers into registered votes for President Nelson Chamisa.
Yesterday’s program was yet another successful soccer tournament organized by the able youth leadership of Masvingo Province with the energetic SG Gilbert Mutubuki leading from the front.
We are using sport as convergence tool for young people. At the beginning of this year, the People’s President Advocate Nelson Chamisa rolled out the Citizens Convergence for Change theme.
Apart from Masvingo Provincial Youth Assembly leadership, yesterday’s program was graced by the firebrand Acting Youth Assembly National Chairperson, Commander Cecilia Chimbiri, the workaholic Acting Youth Assembly National Organizer Lovejoy Chitengu and the maverick Youth Assembly National Deputy Treasurer General, Hon Judith Tobaiwa.
A special mention to all Youth NEC members who made the trip to Bikita East.
We are removing Emmerson Mnangagwa in the upcoming general elections.

Mnangagwa Declares Self 2023 Plebiscite Winner
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the ruling ZANU PF will win the 2023 elections saying the party has gained popularity over the past few years.
He attributed the party’s growth and success to “its ability to accelerate the transformation of the socio-economic conditions of Zimbabweans.”
Addressing party members at the end of the ZANU PF 19th National People’s Conference in Bindura this Saturday, Mnangagwa said:
Our structures are vibrant with more active members, supporters and sympathizers. The organisational reach of our party must continue to widen, capturing the greater part of our nation. We are indeed winning our election before election date. Our expansive membership attests to the ever-growing faith, trust and allegiance, which the people have to the revolutionary party.
He added that ZANU PF “under the Second Republic has shown that it is the only party capable of delivering a better and more prosperous future for the people of our great country.”
He speaks when Zimbabwe is submerged under economic, humanitarian, and political crises that manifest through soaring inflation, poor salaries for workers, and a deteriorating democratic space.
Meanwhile, the opposition MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa has also expressed confidence that it will unseat Mnangagwa in 2023.
Political analysts are calling for political and media reforms to ensure that there is a level playing field ahead of the election. They say the current political landscape favours the ruling party.- ZBC

We Own Zanu PF- Chief Charumbira
CHIEFS’ Council president Fortune Charumbira yesterday openly defied the national Constitution which forbids traditional leaders from dabbling in partisan party politics after he publicly declared that chiefs were the owners of the ruling Zanu PF party.
Addressing delegates at the party’s annual conference in Bindura, Charumbira, who was once taken to court for urging chiefs to support Zanu PF, said “we come as owners of the party”.
“On behalf of all chiefs and headmen, I want to say, we are together with Zanu PF,” Charmubira said.
“We got invited through a letter and that letter showed who we are. We were invited as delegates, but if you go to the start, we are the owners of Zanu PF.”
Chapter 15.2 of the Constitution forbids traditional leaders from being members of any political party or in any way participate in partisan politics, act in a partisan manner, further the interests of any political party or cause or violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of any person.
“We come as owners of the party, the reason for the existence of Zanu PF is all about traditional leadership, and it is about injustice,” Charumbira said.
“This party is ours, which is the truth. War veterans, you fought the war, you are shareholders, but we are the owners, and others are members, which is the truth.”
Traditional leaders have often been accused of forcing their subjects to support Zanu PF during elections to the extent of threatening to take away their land for supporting the opposition, or denying them government-sourced food aid.
A fortnight ago, Zanu PF supporters in Charumbira’s village in Masvingo attacked MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa’s convoy during the opposition leader’s tour of the province.
Charumbira yesterday pleaded with delegates at the Zanu PF conference to uphold peace, saying the ongoing internecine fights in the ruling party were a sad reminder of the late former President Robert Mugabe’s era of violence and intolerance.
He played down the alleged power struggle between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga, saying the alleged fallout was a creation of ambitious party members angling to land key positions leveraging on their proximity to the two leaders. – NewsDay

Bosso Crash Out Of Chibuku Super Cup
Defending champions Highlanders have crashed out of the Chibuku Super Cup after losing to FC Platinum 1-0 in a quarterfinal clash played at the Baobab Stadium on Saturday.
The Platinum Boys got their goal from young Panashe Mutimbanyoka early in the second half.
The game had a cagey start but Bosso retained dominance in the opening moments of the game.
The first meaningful chance fell on the way of Washington Navaya who took a first time shot inside the box on minute 20, but the effort went straight to the keeper.
FC Platinum, on the other end, only came close to the goal after the half-hour when Innocent Muchaneka tried a shot from a range. Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya followed up moments later but was denied by the keeper to see the game going to the break goalless.
Mutimbanyoka opened the scoring two minutes into the second half after a well-worked build-up. Rodwell Chinyengetere could have made it two for the Platinum Boys on the hour but was denied by the keeper from the spot.
The scoreline remained unchanged, and FC Platinum booked their place in the semifinals of the tournament.
They join Ngezi Platinum, who beat Chicken Inn 2-1 in an early kick-off on Saturday.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Beitbridge Border Post Situation Normalises
By A Correspondent- The situation on the Zimbabwean side of the Beitbridge Border Post is back to normal after days of chaos caused by upgrades at the country’s busiest port of entry.
Truck drivers were spending up to 10 days in snaking queues at the border after Zimbabwe introduced new toll fees pegged in foreign currency.
Traffic was also slowed down by construction works amid fears the chaos would see transporters opting for more convenient routes, prejudicing Beitbridge.
ZimBorders spokesman François Diedrechsen said insignificant short-term movement in commercial from Beitbridge to Kazungula and other routes was observed during the crisis.
“While there may be some short-term movement from one border crossing to another, we believe our improved processes and crossing speed resulted in time and money savings to our clients,” Diedrechsen said in an interview.
“We have received comments from various transporter groups where they made comparisons pointing out that some had sent trucks in both directions at the same time.
“Those going through Beitbridge had fast turnaround time than the alternative routes.”
ZimBorders Consortium is undertaking the US$300 million Beitbridge’s modernisation project that will see new terminal buildings being constructed.
A fortnight ago, South Africa expressed frustration at the congestion and delays at the Beitbridge Border post with that country’s Home Affairs minister Aaron Motsoaledi piling blame on Zimbabwean authorities.
Truckers were spending several days at the border owing to attendant delays resulting from recently introduced processing procedures by Zimbabwean authorities, Motsoaledi said.
He described the new measures by Zimbabwean authorities such as demanding United States dollar toll fees in cash without engaging their South African counterparts as a mockery to African Union agreements on free trade.
The toll fees are pegged at US$200 and $340 for small trucks and abnormal trucks respectively.-standard

ED Cracks Whip On Violent Party Members
By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has threatened to descend heavily on party members engaged in violence as Zanu-PF continues to burn amid reports that the party’s restructuring exercise has divided membership.
The restructuring exercise has led to violence erupting with elections for new district structures failing to take off due to infighting.
Addressing a Zanu-PF Central Committee meeting ahead of the 19th National People’s Conference in Harare yesterday, President Mnangagwa said the restructuring exercise should serve as a springboard for strengthening party structures.
“I want to reiterate that we are a united, disciplined and peaceful party. Violence, political chicanery and divisive elements have no place in our colossal party.
“Under the Second Republic, we will scale up programmes that enhance dialogue, social cohesion and national unity. We are indeed diverse but one people,” he said.
Battles to control Zanu-PF structures have been raging across Zimbabwe with the ruling party leadership struggling to complete the formation of district structures ahead of the conference.
Several district elections failed to take off while violence has erupted in some provinces in the weeks ahead of the ruling party’s first-ever hybrid conference in the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The party itself has not been spared from the pandemic, which has claimed lives of its leaders including Cabinet ministers. The annual gathering will also be held at 10 different venues across Zimbabwe.
Politburo members will be at the main venue in Bindura with other members following proceedings virtually, between October 25 and 31, with all delegates expected to produce Covid-19 vaccination cards.
However, it is the raging battles that have engulfed Mnangagwa’s Zanu-PF amid reports that besides the scuffles reported in provinces, the fissures go straight up to the Presidium.
Mnangagwa acknowledged the chaotic situation in the revolutionary party threatening to descend heavily on unruly members violating the constitution.
The party has recorded turmoil in the host province, Mashonaland Central. Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East, Manicaland, Harare, Masvingo and the Midlands provinces have also been rocked by the factional fighting.
Party sources told the Zimbabwe Independent early this week that while the house was burning those battling to control the structures have also aligned themselves to, either, Mnangagwa or his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga.
According to sources, battles in Zanu-PF start at the district committee level where leaders fight for control of the districts whose members make up the provincial committee and structures.
Zanu-PF structures start with a cell of 50 members with 10 cells making a branch and this would now have 500 people or members.
“The district will coordinate all these structures. The district will have 40 members from the Main Wing, 40 from the Women’s League and 40 from the Youth League, meaning it has 120 members. The district structure has a direct link to the members in the cells and branches,” the sources revealed.
However, the restructuring exercise has divided the party with President Mnangagwa acknowledging the challenges facing his party.

A UN Report that ignores the obvious connection between ZanuPF’s actions in power and human suffering in Zimbabwe
By Nontokozo Malaba Ncube| There has been warranted outrage at the UN Special Rapporteur’s report on Zimbabwe. For an investigation about sanctions and human rights, it is ironic how this report does not talk much about the ‘humans’ of Zimbabwe.
Yes, the report contains a lot of economic and financial observations, which are hugely simplified, not in any good way. On the other hand, the report does not give serious acknowledgement of the hard life faced by the majority of Zimbabweans under this military dictatorship of which sanctions are used as an excuse.
Moreover, the report does not provide real recognition of the experiences by the opposition (MDC Alliance) who have been crying for an end to corruption, an end to use of force and oppressive political environment by ZanuPF.
So, what exactly is the angle for the UN or this Special Rapporteur on this issue? What are they trying to achieve by publishing such a heavily biased report? When a report on human suffering does not cover issues associated with that suffering such as what is evident, upon arrival at Harare Airport, one can only assume that the report has nothing to do with the people but other nefarious agendas.
Some analysts believe that this whole thing is about them trying to make it easy for money made from Zimbabwean corrupt activities to be able to be laundered around the world as legitimate. The biased nature of the report could he explained by the curious job description of a UN Special Rapporteur. Perhaps the UN itself will disregard the report.
It can be mentioned, in recent weeks the UN has been caught on the wrong side of reality with regards to Africa and they have been forced to backtrack.
We saw that story about them appointing the disgraced former UK Health Secretary as some UN Covid 19 envoy Africa which was widely criticised on social media.
Nonetheless, despite the biased utterances of this report, Zimbabwe is being run by a military dictatorship that is hell-bent on looting from the country and they discharge violence and murder on anyone who gets in their way at will.
It could have been of more value if the UN Special Rapporteur had engaged the common man in the street in order to get a clearer picture of the prevailing socio economic and political situation in Zimbabwe.

Be professional in the way you exercise your duties, looters are the ones who belong in prison not peaceful protesters and political activists- every ordinary citizen looks up to you to bring back sanity in the once bread basket of Africa.
Because of this preditor’s club you call ZANU PF every dignified institution has lost value.ZEC has become a ZANU PF Endorsement Commission while the heroes acre has become a Mafia’s resting place.

Luxury At Zanu Pf Conference As Majority Languish In Poverty
By A Correspondent- The Zanu-PF juggernaut rolled into the small mining town of Bindura as the party’s politburo and senior government officials arrived in their chauffeur-driven luxury cars to attend the 19th annual conference.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his two lieutenants, Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi flew in on two helicopters.
It was the top of the range SUVs and other all-terrain vehicles that caught the eyes of the people of Bindura.
Politburo members, cabinet ministers and other senior party and government officials chose to attend the conference from Harare, hence the influx of the wide variety of vehicles that rolled into the mining town.
However, with proceedings going on at the Bindura University of Science Education, the ordinary people chose to go on with their business as usual, indicating that the sideshow was an unnecessary distraction as they decided to seek the elusive money with poverty levels quite high in the province.
Mashonaland Central remains one of the poorest provinces in Zimbabwe despite being home to large deposits of gold, nickel and chrome, among other minerals.
In interviews around the town, residents said the Zanu-PF conference was for the top officials who were not worried about looking for money while the people were struggling to make ends meet.
“We have to earn a living and the good thing is that they have limited the numbers because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but all the same that is a meeting for the rich and famous so we would rather be working as usual,” a vendor Anesu Chanetsa said.
A foreign currency dealer at one leading retail shop expressed ignorance of the proceedings at the annual conference, adding that the roadshow had nothing to do with the ordinary people.
“We do not gain anything from that meeting and all the same these chefs are not even staying here and have chosen to drive themselves in their luxury cars from Harare,” he said.
Cecilia Kudzwayi, an informal trader, said the levels of poverty in the province was very high, calling on the leaders, both in government and the ruling party to consider the plight of the ordinary folks.
“People are struggling even to afford a single decent meal on a day and our leaders should meet the people to understand their plight before they hold these conferences while enjoying themselves,” she said.
Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs minister Monica Mavhunga highlighted the challenges faced by people in the province.
The province does not have even a provincial hospital.
Two of the districts in Mashonaland Central, Mbire and Muzarabani, do not have government hospitals, according to Mavhunga.
Provincial chairman, Kazembe Kazembe also highlighted challenges associated with unequal distribution of resources, saying there were fights among youths on the various mines in the province.-standard

Covid-19 Infections In Schools Decline
By A Correspondent- Cabinet this week announced that the number of new Covid-19 infections among learners in schools continues to decrease.
The travel of boarders during the term exeat, as well as general non-compliance with standard operating procedures for the prevention and management of Covid-19 and other influenza-like illnesses, has contributed to outbreaks in schools.
“It has been observed that some private schools are not fully observing the provisions of the Education Act as evidenced by the continued practice of allowing parents to withdraw boarders from school for exeat weekend or for half-term school breaks during the pandemic, and that enforcement of the Public Health Act on such unsanctioned movement of learners during the pandemic will be evoked and strengthened,” the post-cabinet briefing reads.
As at 25 October 2021, the country’s cumulative Covid-19 cases stood at 132 688 with 127 433 recoveries and 4673 deaths.
The recovery rate was 96% with 582 active cases reported. A total of 303 cases were reported as compared to the 572 the previous week, showing a 47% decrease in cases.
“This is an indication that the national response efforts continue to bear positive results in containing the pandemic,” the briefing reads.
Regarding the national vaccination programme, as at 22 October 2021, a total of 3 275 033 first doses had been administered, while 2 545 717 people had received their second dose.
“Cabinet also noted the need to ramp up vaccination to attain the national herd immunity by year-end as targeted.
“To this end, a programme of activities and schedule is being compiled in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.
“The government urges all citizens and urges all citizens who are yet to be inoculated to present themselves for vaccination,” the briefing reads.
Previously, schools in the Midlands battled Covid-19 infections after an outbreak in Mberengwa district, which sent students and parents into panic mode.
The government intervened and carried out Covid-19 tests at the affected schools, including Masase, Mnene, Chegato and Musume, before isolating pupils who tested positive.
