Tinashe Sambiri|Zimbabwe is facing a myriad of challenges due to lack of competent leadership, President Nelson Chamisa has said.
The CCC leader categorically stated on Wednesday morning, Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed to revive the economy.
Mr Mnangagwa is not concerned at all about the welfare of citizens, according to President Chamisa.
“THE CORE BUSINESS OF ANY GOVERNMENT IS TO TAKE CARE OF THE WELLBEING & WELFARE OF THE CITIZENS.
ANY SHORTAGE IS BUT A SHORTAGE OF LEADERSHIP,” the CCC leader posted on Twitter.
“A NEW TRANSPORT SYSTEM…Our technical teams been working 24/7 to understand& understudy the best transport systems in other countries. We’ve developed a solid & smart transport solution for Zimbabwe.

Tinashe Sambiri| Zimbabweans have slammed Zanu PF spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa for attempting to hide behind the finger after the disgraced politician accused the late former President Robert Mugabe of causing the current power crisis in Zimbabwe.
Mutsvangwa claimed Mugabe and G-40 caused the shortage of electricity in Zimbabwe.
This angered Zimbabweans who lashed out at Mutsvangwa for viewing citizens as mere preschoolers.
Below are responses to Mutsvangwa’s utterances:
Luckmore Tichivangani: Was it a Mugabe responsibility or a zanunpf government responsibility?
Collins CH: In other words he is blaming Mugabe’s corpse for electricity shortage .
Christwish Majojo: This shows how empty the regime is? Vainge vasipo here Mugabe paiurawa nyika?
Shawn Mahere : But they both destroyed Zimbabwe. Mutsvangwa is a madman
Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes.
It is preventable and curable.
In 2021, there were an estimated 247 million cases of malaria worldwide. The estimated number of malaria deaths stood at 619 000 in 2021. The WHO African Region carries a disproportionately high share of the global malaria burden. In 2021, the region was home to 95% of malaria cases and 96% of malaria deaths. Children under 5 accounted for about 80% of all malaria deaths in the Region. Overview
Malaria is an acute febrile illness caused by Plasmodium parasites, which are spread to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. There are 5 parasite species that cause malaria in humans, and 2 of these species – P. falciparum and P. vivax – pose the greatest threat. P. falciparum is the deadliest malaria parasite and the most prevalent on the African continent. P. vivax is the dominant malaria parasite in most countries outside of sub-Saharan Africa.
The first symptoms – fever, headache and chills – usually appear 10–15 days after the infective mosquito bite and may be mild and difficult to recognize as malaria. Left untreated, P. falciparum malaria can progress to severe illness and death within a period of 24 hours.
In 2021, nearly half of the world’s population was at risk of malaria. Some population groups are at considerably higher risk of contracting malaria and developing severe disease: infants, children under 5 years of age, pregnant women and patients with HIV/AIDS, as well as people with low immunity moving to areas with intense malaria transmission such as migrant workers, mobile populations and travellers.
Disease burden According to the latest World malaria report, there were 247 million cases of malaria in 2021 compared to 245 million cases in 2020. The estimated number of malaria deaths stood at 619 000 in 2021 compared to 625 000 in 2020.
Over the 2 peak years of the pandemic (2020–2021), COVID-related disruptions led to about 13 million more malaria cases and 63 000 more malaria deaths.
The WHO African Region continues to carry a disproportionately high share of the global malaria burden. In 2021 the Region was home to about 95% of all malaria cases and 96% of deaths. Children under 5 years of age accounted for about 80% of all malaria deaths in the Region.
Four African countries accounted for just over half of all malaria deaths worldwide: Nigeria (31.3%), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (12.6%), United Republic of Tanzania (4.1%) and Niger (3.9%).
Prevention Over the last 2 decades, expanded access to WHO-recommended malaria prevention tools and strategies – including effective vector control and the use of preventive antimalarial drugs – has had a major impact in reducing the global burden of this disease.
Vector control Vector control is a vital component of malaria control and elimination strategies as it is highly effective in preventing infection and reducing disease transmission. The 2 core interventions are insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS).
Progress in global malaria control is threatened by emerging resistance to insecticides among Anopheles mosquitoes. As described in the latest World malaria report, other threats to ITNs include insufficient access, loss of nets due to the stresses of day-to-day life outpacing replacement, and changing behaviour of mosquitoes, which appear to be biting early before people go to bed and resting outdoors, thereby evading exposure to insecticides.
Preventive chemotherapies Preventive chemotherapy is the use of medicines, either alone or in combination, to prevent malaria infections and their consequences. It requires giving a full treatment course of an antimalarial medicine to vulnerable populations (generally infants, children under 5 years of age and pregnant women) at designated time points during the period of greatest malarial risk, regardless of whether the recipients are infected with malaria.
Preventive chemotherapy includes perennial malaria chemoprevention (PMC), seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), intermittent preventive treatment of malaria in pregnancy (IPTp) and school-aged children (IPTsc), post-discharge malaria chemoprevention (PDMC) and mass drug administration (MDA).
These safe and cost-effective strategies are intended to complement ongoing malaria control activities, including vector control measures, prompt diagnosis of suspected malaria, and treatment of confirmed cases with antimalarial medicines.
Vaccine Since October 2021, WHO also recommends broad use of the RTS,S/AS01 malaria vaccine among children living in regions with moderate to high P. falciparum malaria transmission.
The vaccine has been shown to significantly reduce malaria, and deadly severe malaria, among young children.
Tinashe Sambiri| Zanu PF bigwigs in Masvingo are angling themselves to snatch land belonging to local villagers, it has emerged.
The notorious Zanu PF land barons are targeting land belonging to Masvingo Rural District Council.
The two have already invaded land belonging Masvingo RDC under Chief Charumbira.
See article below courtesy of Midweek Watch:
Powerful Masvingo Zanu-PF members, Goddard Dunira Hungwe and Chivi Central MP, Ephraim Gwanongodza are in the eye of a storm after they allegedly invaded land in Masvingo Rural District Council under Chief Charumbira for commercial purposes.
Village heads and residents who spoke to The Midweek Watch had no kind words for the powerful politicians, Dunira and Gwanongodza whom they accused of invading their grazing lands and dividing it into commercial and residential stands for their own personal benefit.
The two are accused of invading Village 20 B and Village 18 A, about 30km along Masvingo Beitbridge Higway under Chief Charumbira, depriving 120 villagers of grazing land for their more than 2400 cattle and drinking water.
“The area near Bhati along Beitbridge Road has been taken over by Gwanongodza and last week trucks brought bricks for construction of houses, shops and a lodge. We have since lodged a complaint with Chief Charumbira for action to be taken as we feel that the two have belittled us by starting such projects in our area without even consulting us as the custodians of the land,” said an irate Village 18B head, Bridgton Madziyire on the phone.
More than 60 households in Village 18A have been affected by the land invasions according to Madziyire who started staying in the area in 1980.
Madziyire said land has been cleared in preparation for the construction of the lodges and a meeting which was allegedly attended by over 50 people was held recenly and 35 cars were seen parked at the area as they were being shown their pieces of land for development.
The meeting was allegedly attended by acting Chief Bere, Phinias Tafirei as it is said Gwanongodza and Dunira were given the land by him since he is believed the custodian of the area after the resuscitation of Bere chiftainship.
Village 20B head, Author Hapazari who started staying in the area in 1999 said they have witnessed strange movements as bricks are being ferried to the area and clearing of land is going on unabated and it is alleged that Dunira is behind the moves.
“When I visited the area on Saturday last week there was a lot of activity going on as preparations were underway for the construction of a lodge according to people privy to the goings on,” said Hapazari.
Hapazari said there is need for the two to respect them since they are set to lose land for grazing and open wells for drinking water for their cattle if the places are turned into residential and commercial areas. Madziyire said in some of the areas that they want to build commercial stands there are witches buried there and he asked the wisdom of building a home where there are such sacred graves.
“It is strange that they want to build lodges where there are outlaws of society buried there, we have so many mountains where they can build such facilities and they are readiliy available than to go and descarte our ancestors’ graves.
“What we want is peace in thsi area and respect, not just to invade our land just like that, that is a cause for grave concern, the consequences may be too ghastly to contemplate if the situation is not resolved in an amicable manner,” siad Madziyire.
When contacted for a comment Masvingo Rural District Council chief executive officer, Martin Mubviro said he has dispatched a probe team on the ground to find out what is happening with a view to either regularise the settlements so that they pay rates to the Council according to the law or to evict the invaders.
Dunira was not polite on the phone as he accused this reporter of being used by certain political forces for their own ends and warned that the Press should stay away from such fights.
Gwanongodza however, admitted that they were allocated some land in that area by Chief Bere, but added that they were approached by some people from Chief Charumbira saying they are tresspassing their area.
“There is an on going feud on boundaries issue between the two chieftainships and I have no idea who is the rightful owner. I have some land allocated to me by Chief Bere and that is because we believed he is the rightful custodian of the area, but suddenly we were approached by Chief Charumbira’s people who ordered us to stop any work because the land is under Chief Charumbira.
We have not done anything since then and we are waiting for the finalisation of the dispute between the two chiefs,” said Gwanongodza. “The said place is within our territory. Village heads have the right to allocate themselves some land and Dunira is one such village head and has every right to occupy it.
“The area is also being invaded by anyone including Zanu-Pf youths who have incorporated Avonmore/Hofmeyer Farm in Manyama and claims that they have full support of some powerful politicians,” said one villager who declined to be named for fear of reprisals. Credit: Midweek Watch
By-A senior Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) official and Member of Parliament has distanced himself from the government’s controversial US$40 000 loans offered to lawmakers.
Addressing residents at a recently held community engagement meeting at Moffat Hall in Sakubva, Innocent Gonese, who represents Mutare Central in the National Assembly, said he doesn’t know anything about the loans. Said Gonese:
The issue of government loans has been topical of late. The truth of the matter is that I haven’t seen any money and I don’t know about anything concerning the US$40 000 housing loan.
As you all know, I am a steadfast CCC member and as a party, we will sit down and discuss on the issue because I don’t want to be caught offside.
After coming up with a conclusion, we will come up with a statement that will be delivered to the public.
Recent media reports indicate that MPs were offered US$40 000 housing loans with Ministers being offered US$500 000 and their deputies getting US$350 000.
CCC leader Nelson Chamisa said that the loans were a bribe and warned his MPs not to “drink from the poisoned chalice” as they will face the wrath of voters.
However, CCC Chief Whip in Parliament Prosper Mutseyami said the loan was not a donation but “a genuine part of the MPs’ welfare.” | TellZim News
By-The Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC is demanding more money from political parties funding from the treasury, saying that the ZWL$2.5 billion is not enough.
MDC-T spokesperson Witness Dube said the funds were inadequate and would not enable political parties to prepare for the upcoming general elections.
Said Dube: The money allocated for political parties is not enough. Through experience as the MDC, we have had to look for other sources of funding, including burdening our public representatives and councillors to actually put their financial shoulders to carry the party. Strong political parties will create vibrant democracy, which will create very strong institutions which will then create the affirmation of plurality as a nation. You do not want the ruling party to be the only strong party because they have access to state funds. The Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), which is led by Godfrey Tsenengamu, said that the State should not fund political parties. The party’s spokesperson, Everton Mutsauri, said: FEEZ registers that the fund should be scrapped altogether. All parties should also be treated equally as they are critical in the consolidation of a democratic society. In this light, we call for the enactment of a new model which totally scraps or repeals the funding of all parties. FEEZ maintains that the allocation of funds is in a way, suffocating the budget of the nation. And there is no justification for the existence of such funding, and worse to notice the negative contribution it gives to the political and economic setup of our nation. The Political Parties Finance Act provides for State funding of political parties with at least 5% of the total votes cast.

The police invoked the Maintenance of Peace & Order Act and barred the Gutu ward four (4), event scheduled for 15 December 2022.
In a letter addressed to Mupfudze, Chief Superintendent Taurai Joackim Mambure, who is the Regulating Authority for Masvingo East Police District, said the tree-planting-day event cannot go ahead because another political party had already notified them of its intention to hold a political meeting in the same ward. Part of the letter reads: I Chief Superintendent Taurai Joackim Mambure of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, being the regulating authority for Masvingo East Police District covering an area of jurisdiction extending from Shashe River to the North West, Denhere Communal lands to the North, Dewure River to the East and Manjirenji Dam to the South. You are being advised that another political party had already made a notification to hold a political meeting on the same date and ward [Ward 4). NOW, THEREFORE, I as the Regulating Officer do hereby issue this prohibition notice in terms of section 8(9) of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act [Chapter 11.23], prohibiting the holding of tree planting day scheduled for 15/12/22 in Gutu North Constituency Ward 4, from 1000 hours to 1600 hours. For the avoidance of doubt, it is declared in terms of section 8 (11) of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act [Chapter 11: 23] that any person who knowingly opposes or fails to comply with this prohibition notice shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding level 14 or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year or to both such fine and such imprisonment. The Officer-in-Charge ZRP Gutu is accordingly advised for the necessary monitoring.
By- Senior African National Congress member and South Africa’s Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has defended her decision to vote in favour of impeachment proceedings against President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Dlamini Zuma was one of four ANC MPs who refused to toe the party line by supporting the call for the adoption of the Section 89 panel report which found that Ramaphosa may have violated his oath of office in connection with the theft of cash at his Phala Phala farm.
She said that she used her discretion as a member of Parliament when she voted.
Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, who was also in the running to become the African National Congress (ANC)’s next president, was the first MP to vote against the party’s position during the open vote and stunned the National Assembly on Tuesday.
She joined the likes of Supra Mahumapelo, Mosebenzi Zwane, and Mervyn Dirks who all voted in support of impeachment proceedings against Ramaphosa. Said Dlamini Zuma:
I’m a public representative so I voted according to my understanding of the report. I read it thoroughly and I supported it.
Only 148 members of parliament voted in favour and 214 voted against, while two MPs abstained from the vote. This means that the impeachment process is now dead in the water | EWN
By-Two illegal gold miners, infamously called Mashurugwi, reportedly fought using dangerous weapons until they killed each other in Zvishavane last week on Monday.
Reports indicate that the fight between Tapfumaneyi Muza (28) of Hwinya Village, Chief Nhema and Gilbert Dendere (29) was so fierce that onlookers at Dombwe Business Centre fled into the bushes to hide.
The onlookers only returned to the scene after the noise died down and were shocked to see the two protagonists lying on the ground side by side, dead.
Muza had been released from prison on bail for attempted murder three days before the fatal fight.
He was represented in his bail application by Abitar Mugari of Pamacheche, Gundu and Dube Legal Practitioners.
According to a police memo seen by The Mirror, on 28 November 2022, at 9 PM at Dombwe Business Centre, Dendere who had a grudge against Muza approached the latter and they started fighting.
Muza allegedly stabbed Dendere with a Columbia knife several times in the chest and in retaliation, Dendere stabbed Muza in the neck and struck him with an axe on the left ear resulting in the deaths of the two.
Police were called to the scene and they collected the bodies.
Muza was previously arrested for stoning a police officer on duty at Dombwe and stabbing him with a knife three times.
Muza then took the cop’s gun which he surrendered to the nearest headman. | The Mirror

The Cameroon Football Association (Fecafoot) is facing a lawsuit from an investigative journalist after the body published a statement accusing him of attempted blackmail and extortion.
Fecafoot announced in a statement on Friday that one ‘Romain Molina’ wanted €25 000 from FA president Samuel Eto’o as a condition to drop a story exposing irregularities within Cameroon football.
But Molina has hit back, claiming the extortion attempt came from someone who was impersonating him.
The journalist also said that Eto’o should have known better since they talked in March regarding a separate matter.
“The only time I spoke to Eto’o was in March – and the conversation I had was to warn him about paedophilia cases in a big football academy in Cameroon,” Molina told BBC Sport Africa.
“That so-called number pretending to be me is definitely not my number, nor my picture and the guy doesn’t know how to write French properly – there are big mistakes.
“So it’s scandalous because when you look at the statement of Fecafoot, they didn’t say it’s me but everyone will believe it’s me.

Two of France’s key players are “serious doubts” for starting in the World Cup semifinal match against Morocco due to illness, while the Atlas Lions’s coach Walid Regragui has rallied his team to fight to get through to the final on behalf of African nations and the Arab world.
In a significant blow for head coach Didier Deschamps, France defender Dayot Upamecano and midfielder Adrien Rabiot are both doubtful to start in their side’s World Cup semifinal match on Wednesday after missing a team training session on Tuesday due to illness, the French Football Federation (FFF) said.
Upamecano, who was reported to have a sore throat, and Rabiot, who had an unspecified illness, were on light training indoors, the federation said.
Upamecano had already missed France’s training session on Monday.
Should the two players be ruled out, coach Deschamps is expected to start Ibrahima Konate at centre back while Youssouf Fofana would be expected to be alongside Antoine Griezmann and Aurelien Tchouameni in the midfield.
Tchouameni, who scored in France’s victory over England on Saturday, was also absent from training on Monday due to discomfort in his left leg but returned to the training pitch on Tuesday and should be fit for the Morocco match. The midfielder is the only player to have started in every game during the French World Cup campaign.- Al Jazeera
We’ll provide a public transport service, introduce a bus system with timetables. A modern light tram will also be unveiled..A NEW GREAT ZIMBABWE PLAN!! #NgaapindeHakeMukomana #kangenesibiliujaha #TheTimeHasCome,” added President Chamisa.
The CCC leader also stressed the importance of planting trees.
“TREES ARE LIFE..As part of our GREEN ZIMBABWE AGENDA, we are launching a massive tree planting program on Thursday this week. #ANewGreatZimbabwePlan.”

Independent legislator Temba Mliswa today queried how the number of war veterans had risen from 34 000 in 1997 to 142 000 this year.
He said the figure needs to be interrogated as there seems to be a high level of corruption, misinformation and a criminal element.
“Despite that increase, what boggles my mind is that 142 000 war veterans have been given $46 billion, which is US$57.5 million, 1% of the total budget while Social Protection has been given $50 billion, which is about US$63 million, 1.12% of the total budget,” Mliswa told Parliament.
Social protection is supposed to cover 3.8 million people in rural areas and 1.6 million people in urban areas that are facing food shortages.
It also covers pupils under the Basic Education Assistance Module. Although Mliswa said there were 4.8 million such pupils, there were only 1.5 million pupils under BEAM at the end of last year.
Harare City Council is failing to employ new contract workers to carry out drain and garbage clearance as the Ministry of Local Government has refused to readily sanction the move.
According to minutes of the Environmental Management Committee (EMC) the authorities have requested for approval from Minister July Moyo’s Ministry but none has been given.
“Meeting of the EMC of 5th September 2022 resolved to employ contract workers to specifically clear the pumps, anti litter monitoring and street cleaning as detailed in item 8 of July 12, 2022 agenda.
“The said resolution has not been fully implemented because the express approval for such from the parent Ministry of Local Government was not granted.
“Further follow up of the same with the ministry has not yielded success and recruitment of the said workers is still pending, awaiting authority and approval,” it said.
Council has since expressed concern at the lack of approval to recruit these contract workers, as dumps continue to mount.
“As council we implore the ministry to urgently attend to this issue as the EMC is deeply concerned with this inertia.
“We however, remain committed to expeditiously deal with these environmental challenges affecting our City even as the rainy season is upon us.
This stalemate becomes the latest frontier in the attritional warfare between the opposition controlled Harare Council and ZANU PF controlled parent Ministry.
The opposition, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has repeatedly accused ZANU PF of using state institutions to sabotage various Council programs in a bid to gain political mileage.
However, ZANU PF has denied the allegations instead accusing the city fathers of incompetence.
Gutu- Police has barred CCC president Nelson Chamisa from launching the party’s tree planting programme billed to take place in Ward 4, Gutu North tomorrow (Thursday).
CCC had applied to Police to launch the programme in Nyazvidzi Small Scale Farming area with Chamisa planting a tree and then distributing hundreds other plants to 42 wards throughout the district.
However, the application was rejected by Masvingo East Dispol Chief Superintendent TauraiJoackim Mambure who said the event could not go on because another party had applied to hold a meeting in the same ward.
His response dated December 12, 2022 doesn’t say which party or what event it is. However, investigations by The Mirror showed that there is no political meeting taking place in Nyazvidzi on the same day.
Lloyd Mupfudze, a senior CCC official confirmed the development in an interview with The Mirror and said Mambure’s decision will be challenged in court. He said after the rejection of the application he called Police with a view to change the venue to Gutu Central but this was again rejected with Police saying that there were several political meetings on the day.
“I Taurai Joackim Mambure being the ZRP regulating authority for Masvingo EastPolice District acknowledge receipt of your notification to hold a tree planting day in Gutu North. You are being notified that another political party has already made a notification to hold a meeting in the same ward on the same day.I as the regulating officer do hereby issue this prohibition order in terms of 8(9) of Maintenance of Peace and Order Act,” reads part of Mambure’s response.
Mambure threatened to arrest anyone who opposed the order.
However, tree planting day is important on the Zimbabwe calendar with the Government Policy urging all Zimbabweans to plant trees in December and regreen the country.
Zimbabwe is losing 330 000 hectares of forests every year, according to WWF, an international environment watchdog.
Chamisa posted on his twitter handle this week that he was launching a massive tree planting programme.
Three people died while three others were injured when an Ashok Leyland Truck they were travelling in hit the trailer of a haulage truck which was heading in the opposite direction at the 382km peg along Harare-Bulawayo early Saturday morning.
The vehicle, which was heading towards Bulawayo, had six passengers on board while the haulage truck which was not carrying any passengers was going the opposite direction.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to United Bulawayo Hospital for post-mortem while the injured were taken to Mpilo Hospital.
We appreciate the United States’ continued reevaluation of sanctions against individuals in Zimbabwe. Thank you @POTUS for your attention to this & for making listening to #SADC nations a priority. #Zambiahttps://t.co/HHFlE8oA8C
By-The Zanu PF government has directed the country’s general hospitals to release nurses to attend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s labour conference on Wednesday in the capital, a leaked memo written by Health and Child Care secretary Jasper Chimedza has revealed.
The conference dubbed “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo” (a country is built by its citizens) President Meets Young Labour Conference” will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre tomorrow. In the memo dated December 9, 2022, addressed to chief medical officers and provincial medical directors, Chimedza directed hospitals such as Parirenyatwa, Sally Mugabe, Chinhoyi, Kadoma and Marondera to release 200 trained nurses and 300 student nurses below the age of 35 for Mnangagwa’s conference. “The Ministry of Labour and Social Service will provide fuel for institutional transport to ferry the students and staff as well as lunch and refreshments. In the event where(by) institutional transportation is not available, please indicate how many would require reimbursement of bus fares and indicative amounts,” the memo read. Chimedza’s phone was not reachable yesterday to confirm the authenticity of the memo, but one of the provincial medical directors confirmed receiving it. “I have received the communication,” the provincial medical director who refused to be named said. Zimbabwe Nurses Association president Enock Dongo could not be drawn to comment on the issue. “Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the issue,” Dongo said. Medical doctor Mlungisi Ndebele said he was afraid that the directive for nurses to attend the conference would cripple hospital operations in the capital at a time when they are short staffed. Hundreds of nurses are currently leaving the country for greener pastures following government’s failure to remunerate them well and to improve their working conditions. “The country has witnessed a massive exodus of health staff in search of greener pastures. I am afraid that taking some nurses in hospitals to attend the conference will paralyse operations,” Ndebele said. To avert further strikes by health personnel, government introduced the Health Services Amendment Bill, which seeks to bar health professionals from participating in industrial action. The Bill has been passed despite being described as undemocratic. Health Ambassadors for ED, a shadowy group that seeks to mobilise all health workers to support Mnangagwa’s candidature in next year’s polls defended the meeting saying he had a right to meet civil servants to boost their morale. “Our President is a listening leader. He is planning to meet citizens who are contributing to the building of the nation. He knows that young people are the future; that is why he is meeting people below the age of 35. We are happy that he has also decided to include health practitioners. Healthy nurses create a healthy nation,” Primrose Kundarwo, the secretary of the group said. The Health Ambassadors for ED is one of the many parallel structures that have been created within Zanu PF in support of Mnangagwa’s 2023 presidential campaign. These include Varakashi for ED, Young Women for ED, Men BelievED, Mahwindi for ED, Pastors for ED, Teachers for ED, Councillors for ED, Mapostori for ED and Bornfrees for ED. In October, President Mnangagwa met Teachers for ED on a school day and event was viewed by many as having paralysed learning at several schools. Back then Mnangagwa indicated that the teachers were crucial for Zanu PF’s re-election bid, saying: “If the party loses the co-operation of the teachers, we lose the game.” Newsday
By- The MDC-T President Douglas Mwonzora has dismissed claims that the party carried out a dubious nomination process ahead of the upcoming Congress.
Speaking during a press conference held at the party headquarters after the party secretary for programs and business Norest Marara raised the alarm about the nomination, Mwonzora said the process was done transparently.
Marara declared his interest in running for the party’s top position challenging the incumbent, Douglas Mwonzora.
However, Mwonzora claimed no one contested his position.
Marara insists that due process was not followed and therefore approached the court.
Speaking during the press conference, Mwonzora said his party was leading by example as far as internal democracy is concerned.
Said Mwonzora:
We have done our nominations transparently and robustly.
The MDC is an example of a thriving internal democracy, every position was up for grabs and everybody who wanted any position was free to contest it.
And people did canvas support for the position that they wanted.
Congress is preceded by the nomination process and the nomination process is preceded by setting of the rules governing the internal processes.
Before Congress, we develop rules for the elections these rules are developed by the elections directorate and then presented by the National Council.
Mwonzora said he was glad that Marara took the matter to the High Court where it was dismissed as being not urgent. He said:
We are very happy that Mr Marara took his case to court where people who are not us presided over it.
He added that no one was stopped from contesting the elections saying he was clear that his position was up for grabs and, “I am the only opposition leader who dares to do that.”
Marara is one of the MDC-T candidates who lost in the 26 March by-elections. He is said to have openly told the executive in one meeting that the party performed dismally because Mwonzora was not sellable to the people.
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi Mahere has lashed out at Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa, describing the former Defence Minister as a selfish and incompetent leader.
Mahere also blasted the Zanu PF regime for failing to resolve the power crisis.
“ZANU PF has no intention to fix the electricity crisis. Their “solution” is to buy themselves solar packs while the rest of the nation wallows in darkness.
The same bigwigs paid themselves US$500K each.
Selfishness & incompetence are a toxic mix.
We need new leaders,” said Mahere.
CCC youth taskforce spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma on Monday urged young people to register to vote.
“Every struggle has its own heroes and champions. Join @CCCZimbabwe today and be a change champion. Ours is a transformational agenda. Register to vote, vote CCC & enter the New Great Zimbabwe.

Self-exiled former Tourism Minister, Dr Walter Mzembi , has said it is madness for the ruling ZANU PF to blame the late former President Robert Mugabe for the current power crisis.
He made the remarks after ZANU PF spokesperson, Christopher Mutsvangwa claimed that the power crisis that the southern African country is facing is a product of years of neglect within Zimbabwe in particular. Mutsvangwa said: The mismanagement, the arm-fisted mismanagement of the last two decades of Mugabe and his G40s obviously has a negative pull.

HARARE – State owned power company, Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, says low water levels at the Kariba Dam are triggering the country’s current blackouts.
Zimbabwe’s main hydro plant is located at the Dam but that is not the only renewable energy plant affecting electricity generation.
The failure of ageing equipment at its Hwange Thermal Power Stations have also played a part.
Zanu-PF is laying the blame for the crisis squarely at former President Robert Mugabe’s feet.
However, the main opposition party, Citizens Coalition for Change, has done nothing to fix it.
For years Zimbabwe was also importing some of its electricity from neighboring South Africa, but the country is now also facing its energy crisis.- ENCA

By- South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa will not face an impeachment process after most MPs voted against adopting the Phala Phala report.
Only 148 members voted in favour and 214 against, while two MPs abstained from the vote.
In the end, National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula ruled that the Section 89 process would not proceed.
Earlier, ANC president aspirant Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma was one of only five ANC members of Parliament to vote in favour of proceeding with a full inquiry into the impeachment of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Eliciting heaps of criticism from fellow ANC MPs in the National Assembly on Tuesday, Dlamini Zuma said: “As a disciplined member of the ANC, I vote yes,” City Press reported.
The ANC occupies 230 of the 400 seats in the National Assembly.
By- The government of Zambia has allowed Harare to use its water in Kariba Dam to generate electricity at the Kariba South Hydropower Plant.
The Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) allocates 45 billion cubic metres of water to Zimbabwe and Zambia for power generation at Kariba.
The authority said water levels have now declined beyond usable levels hence the need for Zimbabwe to cut generation at Kariba by half from about 600 megawatts (MW) while Zambia was ordered to reduce to a maximum of 800 MW.
The country relied more on Kariba hydro-energy for electricity during the winter cropping season, thereby exhausting its water allocation, NewsDay reported citing the Energy minister Zhemu Soda.
Soda was speaking during the launch of a United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) Fund and Stakeholder Engagement function in Harare, on Monday:
Because of what we were experiencing at Hwange Power Station, the faults that are currently obtaining at the boilers — we had to depend on Kariba Dam more than the Zambians did; especially during winter when we wanted to produce adequate wheat. It was a strategy and it worked because we will not import wheat because of the bumper harvest.
The cost has been on excessive use of water which was supposed to be spared. We are very aware that we overused our water and by last week, Zimbabwe had overused the water by around 5% of its allocation. We are actually using Zambian water to generate electricity for ourselves. There was a high-level meeting between Zambia and Zimbabwe, and Zambia allowed us to use its water to generate 300 megawatts.
The Energy minister said traditional source markets for power imports had been affected by climate change.
Soda said the government was encouraging power-generating institutions and households to be on the national grid.

By-The Zanu PF-led government has announced that it would soon begin cancelling gold mining licences owned by companies failing to utilise their claims.
NewsDay reports that Polite Kambamura, the mines deputy minister, said that grabbed mines could be given to small-scale miners.
Kambamura was addressing small-scale miners over the weekend during the launch of the Miners for Economic Development (ED) Mashonaland West chapter at Golden Valley in Kadoma:
We have started cancelling EPOs (exclusive prospecting orders) and we started with Matabeleland North where we have cancelled many. We are yet to come here in Mashonaland West, but we will be going to all provinces. We have a company sitting on 6 500 gold claims. We will use the ‘use it or lose it’ principle as we have discovered that people with EPOs are not really doing anything, but they are holding the areas for selfish reasons. In future, we are going to cancel EPOs if those companies go for six months without providing exploration reports.
Kambamura refused to disclose the name of the company sitting on 6 500 claims.
By- The Rish Sunak-led British administration has opened its doors for Zimbabwe-trained teachers wishing to work in England starting from February 2023.
This was stated in a guide on how qualified teachers can get employment in England even if they got their qualifications outside the United Kingdom.
This guidance is for non-UK citizens who qualified as teachers outside the UK.
From 1 February 2023, teachers who qualified in the following 9 countries will also be able to apply to TRA for QTS:
• Ghana
• Hong Kong
• India
• Jamaica
• Nigeria
• Singapore
• South Africa
• Ukraine
• Zimbabwe
This change is part of the launch of a new service, apply for QTS in England. From 1 February 2023, teachers from all eligible countries will have to show they meet a consistent set of criteria for the award of QTS. Over time, this route will be opened to qualified teachers from every country outside the UK.
To teach in England you will need:
the correct visa or status
teaching skills and experience you can demonstrate to an employer
to pass criminal and professional safeguarding checks (these will be organised by your employer)
The correct visa or status could be one of the following:
a teaching qualification (this can be from your own or another non-UK country)
English ‘qualified teacher status’ (QTS)
Applying for qualified teacher status (QTS)
Qualified teacher status (QTS) is the professional status teachers in England gain at the end of their teacher training.
Teachers who qualified outside the UK can work in English schools for up to 4 years without QTS. However, obtaining QTS will make it easier for you to find work and develop your career as a teacher.
This is because:
in many English state-maintained schools, QTS is a legal requirement when the 4-year exemption period is up
in all English schools, QTS is used to assess the quality of candidates for teaching jobs
Search for a teaching job and apply for a skilled worker visa
The main visa route for non-UK teachers in England is the skilled worker visa.
To apply for a skilled worker visa, you will first need to search for a teaching job in England. You can use the UK government’s Teaching vacancies service to search for available teaching roles.
Before you apply for a teaching job, contact the school to make sure it is a Home Office licensed sponsor. If the school is a sponsor, it can help you apply for your visa. Schools can also become sponsors to employ you.
You’ll be able to apply for your skilled worker visa if:
you have a job offer from a school that is a licensed Home Office sponsor
Work as a teacher in England without a skilled worker visa
This section explains the other visa and immigration routes you may be able to use to work as a teacher in England.
Graduate visa
If you’re already an international student in the UK, you can apply for a graduate visa on the successful completion of your degree. To apply, you’ll need to have been sponsored by a Home Office licensed student sponsor over the course of your studies.
The graduate visa will allow you to work, or look for work, in the UK for up to 2 years after completing your studies (3 years for PhD students) without a sponsor. This includes working as a teacher.
You’ll be able to switch from a graduate visa to another visa (such as the skilled worker visa) without having to leave the UK if you meet the requirements for the new visa.
have a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD from a university listed in the Global Universities list
have been awarded your qualification no more than 5 years before you apply
have English language skills to B1 intermediate level
have personal funds of £1,270
pass a security and criminality check
You do not need an offer of a teaching job to apply for this visa and you’ll be able to stay in the UK for 2 years with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, and 3 years with a PhD.
Youth Mobility Scheme visa
The Youth Mobility Scheme allows young people from certain countries to come to the UK each year to study or work without a sponsoring educational institution or sponsoring employer. This includes working as a teacher.
A Youth Mobility Scheme visa lasts up to 2 years. You may be able to switch from a Youth Mobility Scheme visa to another visa route (for example the skilled worker visa) without having to leave the UK. You’ll need to meet the requirements for the other visa route.
If you’re interested in teaching children aged 11 to 18 at a secondary school in England and you have English QTS, sign up to the Get an adviser service. You’ll get personalised support from a trained Department for Education (DfE) adviser to help you apply for jobs in England.

It is retarding the speed of recovery, but you can’t doubt that recovery is going on.
Mutsvangwa’s remarks attracted Mzembi’s wrath. He responded:

By A Correspondent| The United States of America has listed four more individuals and two critical firms on the sanctions list confirming that the super power is working against Zimbabwe’s rebuilding program as enunciated by the second republic.
The US published a new list on Monday which removed most ruling party officials who have lost their influence in politics, but roped in Mnangagwa’s son, Emmerson Jnr, Fossil Contracting owner Obey Chimuka, businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei’s wife Sandra Mpunga, and Nqobile Magwizi, who works for Sakunda Holdings, a company also on the embargo list.
Two companies, Fossil Agro and Fossil Contracting, both owned by Chimuka were added on the list which saw former cabinet ministers Ignatius Chombo and Flora Buka, Chenhamo Chimutengwende, Nicolas Goche, Hebert Murerwa dropped.
According to the US department of Treasury, Emmerson Jnr was victimised for his association with his father, President Mnangagwa, while Chimuka and Magwizi’s links with Tagwirei was the reason why they were sanctioned.
Fossil has been engaged in several developmental projects in the country.
Fossil Contracting is involved in the refurbishment of the Harare-Beitbridge Highway. The company is also involved in the construction of the Second Republic’s signature project, Mbudzi interchange with other firms.
Fossil Agro has been central in the revival of the agricultural sector.
Fossil has also recently bought a controlling stake in Larfage, a move that could have irked the Americans, who target companies involved in developmental projects.
Political analyst Gibson Nyikadzino said this happening ahead of the US-Africa summit of democracy, which is a multilateral grouping, the US continues to disregard the importance of the principle of equality.
“It is trying to frustrate Zimbabwe’s effort of re-engagement by being confrontational through use of coercive diplomatic instruments’” Nyikadzino said.
“It also serves to remind us that our values are a parallel and incompatible to those of the US, where in place of unilaterlaism, Zimbabwe is for multilateralism, in place of stability and equality, the US is adopting the might is right principle.”
Nyikadzino added: “So the move by the US is a proper representation of the double standards of its foreign policy. Peace is not their representation.”
Last month, Tagwirei disclosed that he was sanctioned after he led the success of the command agriculture. Tagwirei was addressing graduands at Solusi University where he was the guest of honour.
“When it was successful in 2017, the US Agriculture department wrote that Zimbabwe was doing one of the best things in command agriculture,” Tagwirei said.
“(But) when they began to think who I was supporting, and that I was supporting the government of the day, they then said he stole US$3 billion and I was placed on sanctions.”
The targeting of Fossil confirms Tagwirei’s claims.
By A Correspondent- A United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean woman, accused of denying her ex-husband access to his daughter, has acquired a second birth certificate for the child.
Coleen Nyandoro is reported to have acquired a new birth certificate for her daughter, due to her fallout with her ex-husband, Munyaradzi Mwanjira.
Coleen removed Mwanjira’s name from the new birth certificate for Chelsea, 17.
She was born in the UK and acquired a birth certificate there.
Mwanjira told H-Metro that Coleen has been infringing on Chelsea’s rights as a way of getting back at him.
“We were blessed with a daughter during our stay in the United Kingdom,” said Mwanjira.
“We separated and Coleen got married to another man.
Her reason for acquiring a second birth certificate for our daughter is a direct violation of the girl’s rights.
She omitted my name as if Chelsea has no father and she has been denying me access to her for the past 15 years.
“How she acquired a second birth certificate at the Registry’s Office remains a mystery.”
Coleen could not be reached for comment.
However, Coleen’s mother, Loveness Nyandoro, who is believed to be staying with Chelsea in Harare, said:
“I do not know Chelsea’s father. Whoever is claiming to be Chelsea’s father must pay lobola first so that I know him.
“My husband passed away a bitter man because of this so-called Munyaradzi and he has been a thorn in my flesh,” said Gogo Loveness.
By A Correspondent- Bulawayo City councillors are pushing for the mandatory burial of two bodies in one grave as the country’s second-largest city runs out of burial space.
Alternatively, the councillors are proposing that residents consider cremating their departed relatives.
Zimlive reports that the calls come amid revelations that the city’s two major cemeteries, West Park and Hyde Park, had filled up.
“A single grave should have more than one burial. For effective cremation, private players should be involved,” said Councillor Sikhululekile Moyo, who also noted that the high death rate now being experienced was pushing demand.
Bulawayo’s biggest cemetery, West Park, was closed in 2016 after running out of burial space but was later reopened by the local authority targeting reserved land.

“On an ordinary grave, double intermation was allowed after a period of 10 years and above,” she said.
By A Correspondent- Government has allegedly directed the country’s general hospitals to release nurses to attend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s labour conference on Wednesday in the capital, a leaked memo written by Health and Child Care secretary Jasper Chimedza has revealed.
By A Correspondent- The Special Tactics Team re-arrested Panashe Chinyama (24) who last week escaped from Chikurubi Farm Prison where he was serving a one-year sentence after being convicted of malicious damage to property.
Chinyama was re-arrested while sleeping at his Whitecliff house in Harare at the weekend.
Chinyama escaped last Wednesday from the prison while he was working at a nursery resulting in prison and police officers launching a manhunt for him.
He was arrested at his house at around 1 am by members of the Special Tactics Team following a tip-off from a concerned citizen.
Chinyama, who was a B Class inmate, had served eight months of his term and was due to be released on March 28 next year, The Herald reported citing Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Meya Khanyezi. She is quoted as saying:
The ‘B’ class inmate who escaped from lawful custody on 7 December was recaptured by the Special Tactics team around 1am. “We got information from a responsible and loyal citizen of Zimbabwe that the escapee had been seen at his home in Whitecliff area and was likely to be sleeping in his room.
We want to encourage all citizens of Zimbabwe to remain supportive of ZPCS.
ZPCS recently said 116 inmates escaped from correctional facilities between January 2021 and October this year.
Most of the fugitives were B-class inmates, who are allowed to be outside for work duties while serving their terms.
ZPCS is installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at maximum security prisons, arming its officers and reinforcing the canine section to avert future prison breaks.
By A Correspondent- A nine year old child has escaped death from a crocodile attack in Chibuto district of the southern Mozambican province of Gaza.
The girl was swimming in the Limpopo river when the incident happened.
She told local media that when she realised that she was under attack, she tried to scratch the nose of the reptile which, before letting go, caused serious injuries to one of her legs.
“The crocodile grabbed me and dragged me so I hit it and scratched its nose [snout]. Then the crocodile immediately released me and threw me,” she told state broadcaster Radio Mozambique.
She was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment. Marta Moiane, a director at the hospital, has said the girl is in good health.
Dr Moiane said this was the second admission to the hospital this year from a crocodile attack.
Crocodile attacks are common in Mozambique’s major rivers and their tributaries.
By A Correspondent- A Waterfalls man appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi on Monday facing a charge of defrauding Old Mutual of US$90 000 through a fake insurance claim, NewsDay reported.
The accused, Henrics Providence Dhonga (30) from Mainway Meadows faces two counts of fraud and illegal possession of articles for criminal use. He was remanded in custody until today for a bail hearing.
Dhonga, an employee at Bright Insurance Brokers Private Limited, is co-accused with two accomplices, Llyod Makuzva (45) and Reality Njabulo Chuma (30).
What happened:
It is alleged that in May 2022, Dhonga was approached by Munyaradzi Ramewa, still at large, who wanted compensation for his vehicle which was involved in an accident a long time ago and was parked at a house in Mutare.
On August 14, 2022, Dhonga, Makuvaza and Chuma proceeded to Mutare where they met Ramewa and staged an accident involving the VW Touareg motor vehicle.
They reported the staged accident to the police in Mutare, and Road Angels towed the vehicle.
On September 20, 2022, they made a fraudulent claim through Dhonga saying the vehicle was severely damaged on the front, suspension, engine and gearbox.
Old Mutual Insurance Company processed a claim for US$90 000.
The fraud came to light when Old Mutual discovered that the photographs the accused persons sent were different from the ones submitted by Road Angeles which towed the vehicle from the scene.
It was also discovered that Dhonga, a director at Panel Tech Motors, was involved in more insurance fraud cases.
Police searched his Mazda CX5 vehicle on Saturday and recovered a backpack with 11 homemade police stamps for different police stations in Chitungwiza, Chegutu, Harare, Marondera and Norton.
By A Correspondent- Zambian police on Sunday found the bodies of 27 men, believed to be migrants from Ethiopia, dumped in a farming area on the outskirts of the capital after they died from suspected hunger and exhaustion, authorities said.
A sole survivor was found alive in the early hours of Sunday morning and rushed to a Lusaka hospital for treatment, while the dead were transported to the mortuary for identification and post mortems to determine the exact cause of death, police said.
Preliminary police investigations showed the victims were all males aged between 20 and 38 and had been dumped along a road by unknown people.
“Police and other security wings have since instituted investigations into the matter,” Danny Mwale, police spokesman, said in a statement after police were alerted to the gruesome scene by members of the public.
Ethiopian migrants often use Zambia when travelling to countries such as South Africa. In recent months, dozens have died in Malawi and Zimbabwe after suffocating in the back of lorries.
In October, 25 people believed to be migrants from Ethiopia were found in a mass grave in Mzimba, Malawi. Police suspected they suffocated and were dumped by the people transporting them.
In November, Zimbabwean police reported the discovery of the bodies of four men dumped roadside in Mutoko, Mashonaland East.
Mutoko is on the Harare-Nyamapanda Road leading to the Nyamapanda gateway to Mozambique and Malawi. Police said the four were “suspected foreigners who were being trafficked to South Africa.”
The Harare Magistrate Court still has not released the transcript of its ruling on 18 November denying bail to the former City of Harare chief building inspector Roy Nyabvure to allow him to appeal against the judgment at the High Court.
Nyabvure was arrested early last month after he was reported to the police by businessman Ken Sharpe’s company, Pokugara Properties for breaching council housing procedures.
He was denied bail by Magistrate Taurai Manuwere on 17 November but for the past 26 days, the court has failed to release his transcript so that he can appeal against the ruling at the High Court.Without the transcript, Nyabvure’s lawyer Millicent Moyo said her client cannot challenge the court’s decision. In an interview, Moyo said she has asked for the record and had been repeatedly told that it was being transcribed.
“On December 1, Manuwere made an undertaking that the transcript would be out on Monday last week. I checked on Monday (5 November) and Tuesday (6 November). There was nothing and up to now, the transcript is still not out,” Moyo said.
“Since 17 November when he (Nyabvure), we have not been able to get the record despite having several requests to the clerk of court.
“What we want is a transcribed copy of the record, but if it is not available, we can do with a copy of the magistrate’s notes. Despite requests, we have not been granted access to the record so that we can have it photocopied. The record in either form is necessary. It is an essential requirement on a bail application in an appeal against refusal of bail. The appeal will not be filed in the High Court unless it is accompanied by a record.””She added: “It (transcript) is a very small record and we don’t know why it is taking forever to release it.”
Nyabvure is currently admitted at a private hospital under police custody. He was arrested despite that is a State witness in another case where land developer George Katsimberis is suing Pokugara, Sharpe, Aleshina Tatiana and some council officials for perjury. The former council chief housing inspector was arrested at court before he could testify against Sharpe after Acting Deputy Prosecutor-General Michael Reza wrote to the police claiming the former council official had finished testifying.
Nyabvure is both a State witness and an accused in a case based on the same facts.
Moyo said the court’s delay in releasing the transcript has caused untold suffering to him because of his failing health, disclosing that he was given the wrong medication while in remand prison which his personal physician had discontinued a long time ago after observing that it was not suitable for him.”
He (Nyabvure) made the complaint to the personal doctor when he eventually saw him. He has a serious medicalcondition,” she said.
Nyabvure was also detained in class D cells at the remand prison, cells meant for hardcore criminals. Before his arrest, Nyabvure had reported Sharpe’s aide Tatiana Aleshina to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission claiming that she interfered with his case after allegedly writing a letter on June 12, 2019, to town clerk Hosiah Chisango. Aleshina allegedly wrote the letter a day after Nyabvure gave a statement to the police against Sharpe and his associates.
Pokugara once caused the arrest of Katsimberis on the same facts on a matter he is a witness against Sharpe and his company.
He has been appearing in court pursuing perjury and malicious damage to property cases against the group who are witnesses in his case.
By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said authorities will take extraordinary measures to ensure that Zimbabwe does not face severe power shortages in 2023.
His remarks come as the southern African nation is facing a huge power deficit that has seen most parts of the country going for at least 18 hours daily without power.
Writing in his column for The Sunday Mail, the President said Government is intensifying efforts to boost power generation through a raft of measures.
He said:
Extraordinary measures are needed and will be taken in the coming year. With the US$310 million, we now have to refurbish and replace old Generators 1 to 6 at Hwange, coupled with the coming on stream of Generators 7 and 8, early next year, we should see an appreciable improvement in power supply early in the coming year.
We must now plan for our power generation and supply as if Kariba is discounted from our energy supply matrix, so we have at least 2 000 megawatts from non-hydro power sources. That way, we weather-proof our energy sector and with it, our whole Economy. I have already instructed Government to remove all and any entry barriers to new investments in the energy sector.
Mnangagwa said the “rapid growth and expansion in both mining and industry, coupled with new investment projects across sectors, has increased demand for power,” thereby creating “a clear mismatch between power generation and supply on the one hand, and power demand and distribution on the other.”
He also said Kariba’s power generation capacity had drastically fallen from its installed capacity of 1 100 megawatts to a mere 100 megawatts.
The president also said Zimbabwe’s capacity for thermal power had also fallen due to the aged six generators developed soon after Independence.
Government critics say the ruling ZANU PF government failed to adequately invest in the energy sector.

It was later found out that the airline did not exist and by then he had vanished.
After keeping quiet about the fraud allegations for a long time, Kudzai eventually addressed the rumours. He denied the fraud and fugitive allegations and maintained that he had made his money through clean business.
By Simba Chikanza | In his ignorance, Hopewell Chin’ono on Sunday used a Nkosana Moyo video to say the opposition MPs must donate their backdated USD40,000 remuneration money to hospital needs, not knowing that has been done already and all that was donated was destroyed. Hospital equipment plus an ambulance donated by Chamisa MP candidates like John Manganye has been quickly destroyed upon it being discovered that these things were donated by an opposition candidate. Hopewell honestly wants the Chamisa MPs to throw back the USD40,000 to the looters and destroyers. (video)
What exactly is the USD40,000 for? It is a remuneration and loan package for all MPs, that was supposed to be paid to them years before. They are currently paid less than USD200. If they were to fail to pay back the USD40,000, this would amount to USD666.66 per month (5 year tenure), which, if added to the USD117, makes up for a total salary of USD784 per month. All this is money they were supposed to be remunerated and they were complaining about since 2019, and which I travelled to Serbia in 2019 to interview the Speaker of Parliament over, and is no more than a combined USD700 per month (see video
) ZANU PF has chosen to call it a loan, but even as a payout, such a salary would still be a fraction of what Hopewell himself lives on and what MPs in northern Zimbabwe (Zambia) earn which is USD3,000.
I heard someone suggesting that the Zimbabwe MP’s must copy Swedish MPs who are not paid anything. But here are the facts:
Swedish MPs are paid USD6000.00 salary per month, no perks.
Zambian MPs are paid USD3,000.00 salary per month, plus perks.
Malawian MPs are paid USD2,100.00 salary per month, plus perks.
Zimbabwean MPs are paid USD117.00 salary per month, plus perks, whose payment was supposed to have been made back in 2019.
Has Hopewell ever sought a comment from the MPs, Nelson Chamisa or the Speaker of Parliament? I have done more than that, for over 3 years to date, I have physically visited Jacob Mudenda, and scores of other stakeholders and held them to account over the MPs’ welfare and this very matter which Chin’ono is now accusing opposition legislators of being horrible WATCH VIDEO
Now to the timing of the payments- Zanu PF clearly wanted to fund its own MPs while keeping the opposition unfunded.
Any plan that says return the money to ZANU PF is not wise. On any day, I would personally take opportunity to deny ZANU PF control of state funds.
Chin’ono uses the views of his advisor and preferred candidate, Nkosana Moyo, a man who praises Emmerson Mnangagwa calling him a smart business expert who must be given a chance. Is Nkosana Moyo now the standard of morality, and since when?
Chin’ono suggests that he is better than Job Sikhala, Tendai Biti and their team, on exposing health issues. Yet no one has given the public information and tools on looting than Tendai Biti, and no one has confronted the regime more than Job Sikhala and their team on not only health issues, but the very root of corruption in ways never done since 1980 (watch the Youtube video titled “WIWA WIWA”
Another projected view is that Zimbabwe should underpay its MPs because the country does not have money. Is this true? Tendai Biti’s committee revealed that more than GBP32bln was looted soon after removing the late President Robert Mugabe, and the money is sitting somewhere right now, of which it’s only clear that’s the sam repository Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has taken this USD34mln from. Is it not right that the likes of Hopewell Chin’ono should instead of attacking the opposition MPs who’ve been kidnapped, tortured, arrested, and whose properties have been looted and destroyed, take opportunity to strengthen them so that they can demand the rest of the millions and billions that are stashed out there by Mthuli and Kuda Tagwirei?
Why not tell people that the 40K issue is in fact a breakthrough that shows the the looted money is accessible and for instance the USD7bln identified by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission, can now be used to resurface all hospitals and refurbish all schools across the country?
Chin’ono however instead turns the people’s anger to go against the very victims, while making it appear like he is the best thing to ever happen in Zimbabwe. He makes it out like he is the most honest thing to ever happen in Zimbabwe. Assuming opposition MPs are downright dishonest, selfish, and horrible as he desribes them, at least we know who they are. Can he, Hopewell Chin’ono tell us his real name, a single one? Because while some of us were busy studying at Uni in 2000 he was busy changing his own name 3 times and the British Embassy in Harare is right now under pressure to explain why a junior staff member issued a letter supporting one of his names.
So far, Hopewell Chin’ono claims he is the one who broke the 40K story, which is not true. I revealed this matter a month before on the 26th October 2022, and Chin’ono only caught up with it on the 26 Nov 2022 by which time it had become clear the payments to MPs are backdated disbursements to MPs negotiated as loans because the USD667 per person per month had not been paid, and the total of which gets to USD40,000.
Story was broken on ZimEye on 26 October 2022, exactly a month before Hopewell Chin’ono would get it
Backdated remuneration matter discussed in parliament back in Nov 2020.
Story was broken on ZimEye on 26 October 2022, exactly a month before Hopewell Chin’ono would get it…
Why is Hopewell Chin’ono bouncing out before the 2023 election, to say Chamisa’s MPs are hungry and dishonest, the very same MPs whose integrity encouraged us to travel to distant lands and confront the govt over this very same 40K issue back in 2019?
Lastly, Chin’ono says he is being accused of having presidential ambitions. No one ever made such suggestions and the only thing people said is that he is publishing lies using the same cancer machine/health journalism that another journalist Boris Johnson used to destroy the UK economy while lying to voters that European politicians are stealing GBP350 million per week hospital equipment money that will be recovered once they vote for Brexit. The same technique Johnson used is what Hopewell is deploying, such that upon screaming “cancer machine,” or radiotherapy, even Nelson Chamisa gets confused so he turns to attack his own MPs.

The US-Africa Leaders’ Summit takes place in Washington, DC, from December 13 to 15 2022. With 49 African leaders invited, the meeting is due to cover multiple aspects of the relationship between the United States of America and Africa, including economic engagement, food security, education, health and climate-related issues while placing an even greater emphasis on bilateral trade and investment initiatives. This meeting follows shortly after the recently released US Strategy Toward Sub-Saharan Africa, which was a demonstration of the Biden administration’s pledge to the African continent and offers a forum for new dual initiatives between the United States and countries in Africa.
The ONE Campaign recognises the Summit as a significant opportunity for the US to reaffirm its promise to Africa and increase cooperation to tackle the continents’ greatest global challenges. As the continent recovers from the effects of the CoVID-19 pandemic, the Summit should focus on creating strategic initiatives that will stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and create resiliency in an era of polycrisis. This includes addressing the challenges around debt, strengthening global health security, and measures to address the spiraling food crisis and environmental shocks.
The ONE Campaign is calling on the Biden administration to show leadership on the world stage and commit to the following priority actions that are critical for driving economic prosperity in the continent:
Encourage private sector investments through the Development Finance Corporation that are focused on growth in Africa – Over 1 billion Africans are under the age of 25, and by 2030, Africa’s youth will represent 42% of the global youth population. Africa needs about 15 million new decent jobs every year to harness its demographic dividend, and when asked, African citizens’ greatest priority is Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth. It’s imperative that a US-Africa partnership create investments that will tap into the booming potential of Africa’s youth, in turn creating growth, stability, and prosperity.
Elevate Africa’s food crisis on a global stage – Rising prices, environmental shocks and Russia’s war in Ukraine have exacerbated an already dangerous and growing food crisis in the Horn of Africa. The United Nations $1.5 billion response plan to avert famine in Somalia is only two-thirds funded. While the Biden administration has allocated $870 million to help fight this crisis, this only totalling to half of all humanitarian funding committed to Somalia, it will take the voice of the US leadership to get wealthy countries to step up and pay attention to this crisis.
Multilateral Development Banks Optimization – Modernize the multilateral development banks, like the World Bank, so that they are more efficient with the resources they have and can leverage up to $1 trillion in new lending without putting their triple A credit rating at risk.
The Summit encapsulates US and Africa’s common aspirations for long term partnership and the great potential of such cooperation in boosting common goals, interests and Africa’s economic growth and development. By broadening and deepening the partnership in a plethora of fields, including non-traditional domains that have not been sufficiently explored before, the US and Africa would reap substantial common dividends. Such renewed engagement will also pave the way for a breakout of international competition over resources towards wider horizons of collaboration and common interests.

Panashe Chinyama (24) who last week escaped from Chikurubi Farm Prison where he was serving a one-year sentence after being convicted of malicious damage to property, was arrested while sleeping at his Whitecliff house in Harare at the weekend.
Chinyama escaped last Wednesday from the prison while he was working at a nursery resulting in prison and police officers launching a manhunt for him.
He was arrested at his house at around 1am by members of the Special Tactics Team following a tip off from a concerned citizen.
Chinyama, who was a B Class inmate, had served eight months of his term and was due to be released on March 28 next year.
Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Meya Khanyezi confirmed that Chinyama was now in custody and was likely to be charged for escaping from lawful custody.
She confirmed that Chinyama was serving his one-year sentence at Chikurubi Farm Prison before he escaped.
“The ‘B’ class inmate who escaped from lawful custody on 7 December was recaptured by the Special Tactics team around 1am. “We got information from a responsible and loyal citizen of Zimbabwe that the escapee had been seen at his home in Whitecliff area and was likely to be sleeping in his room,” she said.
She added: “We want to encourage all citizens of Zimbabwe to remain supportive of ZPCS.”
ZPCS recently said 116 inmates escaped from correctional facilities between January 2021 and October this year.
Most of the fugitives were B class inmates, who are allowed to be outside for work duties while serving their terms. Chief Supt Khanyezi, recently said Harare Central and Chikurubi Farm prisons had high incidences of prison escapes.
“In 2021, 64 inmates escaped from our prisons and 52 inmates in 2022 up to October, making a total of 116. Harare Central and Chikurubi Farm prisons have a high incidence of escapes since these stations have more B class inmates, who go out of prison to work.”
“Police, however, recaptured 40 escapees during the same period. After escaping, the 40 inmates were recaptured — 18 in 2021 and 22 in 2022,” added Chief Supt Khanyezi.
Most fugitives, she said, sneaked away after asking for permission to go to the toilet.
“Some A class inmates also abscond since they will no longer be under escort of a prison officer, given that they would have exhibited good behaviour.”
ZPCS is installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at maximum security prisons, arming its officers and reinforcing the canine section to avert future prison breaks.
In March, a convicted armed robber was recaptured by police after escaping from Harare Central Prison.
He spent four months on the run. Richard Sasumba (40) was subsequently charged with attempting to escape from lawful custody.
Last year, 59 prisoners broke out of correctional facilities countrywide, largely due to negligence of guards who faced disciplinary action.
Figures obtained from ZPCS showed that 48 inmates also escaped from custody in 2020. -state media
A Zanu PF parliamentary candidate who is reportedly eyeing Chirumanzu South, Regis Maburutse, is set to appear in court next week for allegedly stealing a car. Maburutse is alleged to have connived with Prolific Auctions to sell a Land Cruiser short base worth US$40 000 and a spray booth worth US$15 000 belonging to Tony Renato Sarpo, a non-executive director of Matebeleland Engineering. The matter was reported at Rhodesville Police station CR26/12/12.
Prolific Auctions which is being run by Livingstone Mavunga was engaged by the Sheriff of the High Court to dispose property belonging to Matebeleland Engineering trading as Yagden Engineering (PVT) LTD after it was successfully sued for US186 924 plus 12% interest per annum by Hothfield Enterprises (PVT) LTD. The items on the list of the writ of execution against movable property (Case No. H/C 12773/16), however, did not include the Land Cruiser and the spray booth.
However, it is alleged that on July 4, 2019, the same day other items on the writ were sold, Prolific Auctions allegedly went on to sell the vehicle and listed it as scrap vehicle although the vehicle is said to have been in perfect condition.
Allegations are that Maburutse engaged Prolific Auctions who sold the vehicle and a spray booth for a song to one Donald Mangenje. According to invoice number 16091 issued by Prolific Auctions both the vehicle and the spray booth were sold at US$ 2 000 each.
This was despite the fact that the auction had generated in excess of the amount demanded by Hothfield from the sale of the items listed on the writ. Maburutse went on to write to the Sheriff of the High Court asking him to transfer the said surplus of money to his Ecobank account 0141107609499201 in Msasa.
Sarpo of 39 Court Road, Greendale in Harare left the vehicle in 2016 after a dispute with his partner, Wayne Williams, over the running of the company, but agreed that the dispute can only be resolved by the courts (H/C 1324/17).
Williams then appointed Maburutse and his son Brendon David Williams as directors.
Sarpo who is the applicant in the matter which is still pending at the High Court submitted a list of personal items which he brought to the company and those he acquired during his time with the company. The vehicle was among the items listed.
It is however, alleged that Wayne Williams and Maburutse later connived and hired the services of a locksmith to open up the car and started using the vehicle without Sarpo’s consent. Wayne is alleged to have used the vehicle before Maburutse took the car away.- Masvingo Mirror

4 brothers yesterday appeared in court on allegations of teaming up with five other men to rob a Harare family of US$50 000, a car and other valuables.
Paul, Sign, Partially and Simon Makamelo — all of Epworth in Harare — allegedly teamed up with Tonderai Norest Chibvongodze, Christopher Sithole, Kelvin Zimomo and Innocent Kaso and robbed a family on November 22.
Paul, Sign and Partially appeared at the Harare magistrates court along with Chibvongodze, Sithole and Zimomo charged with armed robbery.
Simon and Chibvongodze are still on the run.
It is said that on November 29 and at around 10pm, the gang hatched a plan to rob the complainant.
They armed themselves with a pistol and iron bars and went to the victim’s house in Eastlea, Harare where they scaled over a precast wall to enter the place.
They allegedly forced open the back door with an iron bar and manhandled the victim and his wife.
It is said they threatened the couple with death and tied them with a cloth before ransacking the whole house.
They stole a safe containing US$50 000, a tool box containing spanners, a small compressor, an iPhone 8 handset, a Huawei N90 and a box containing jewellery and important documents.
They also stole a Volvo vehicle (reg number ADA 9608) into which they loaded the stolen property before driving off.-state media
Globe and Phoenix Primary School in Kwekwe city has decommissioned two classroom blocks over fears they will collapse anytime because of illegal gold mining activities that have been occurring beneath the school.
There are also fears that the Kwekwe District Government offices which house the District Registrar and the District Development Coordinator (DDC) could also carve in because of the continued illegal mining activities underground.
School head, Mr Isaac Pfupajena said illegal mining activities around the school had left a trail of destruction with some of the classroom blocks now in danger of collapsing.
He said the illegal miners had been invading the school at night and digging up huge pits under classroom foundations in search of gold.
“We have engaged security guards but at times they (illegal miners) come at night and threaten the guards before they dig huge pits underneath the classroom blocks in search of gold.”
Mr Pfupajena said the school had installed some security lights to try and deter the illegal miners.
“We have also requested the police to establish a police post but they haven’t come yet. We have however installed lights and some of the panners are no longer coming during the night,” he said.
Mr Pfupajena said there were high chances some of the classroom blocks with open pits around them would collapse this rainy season.
“Its now raining and these pits which are underneath the classroom blocks will be filled with water causing the classroom blocks to collapse,” he said.
Kwekwe District Development Coordinator, Mr Fortune Mpungu also confirmed the illegal mining activities around Globe and Phoenix Primary School and the District Registrar’s office.
He said they had engaged the police to help. Local police could not comment on the developments.
Mr Mpungu said his office was also waiting for a geographical assessment report from the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development .
“There was an assessment which was done by the Ministry of Mines to ascertain whether or not the school and the District Registrar’s offices were still safe to use following the underground damage owing to the illegal activities.
We are still curiously waiting for this report,” he said.-state media
The United States has announced sanctions against Emmerson Mnangagwa Jr, the son of Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa, ahead of a summit of African leaders in Washington, DC.
The penalties against Mnangagwa Jr were laid out in a US Treasury Department press release on Monday, alongside sanctions for three other individuals and two entities.
Emmerson Junior with father
“The Zimbabwe sanctions programme targets human rights abusers and those who undermine democratic processes or facilitate corruption. US sanctions do not target the Zimbabwean people, the country of Zimbabwe, or Zimbabwe’s banking sector,” the press release states.
The sanctions come one day before US President Joe Biden is scheduled to host a summit of African leaders in Washington, DC, to discuss issues such as climate change and food insecurity. About 50 African leaders are expected to participate.
The US Treasury alleged that those targeted by Monday’s sanctions were tied to the businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and his Sakunda Holdings company.
Tagwirei is accused of using his wealth to cultivate relationships with high-level government officials, receiving state contracts and access to hard currency in exchange for luxury items such as expensive cars. He was sanctioned in 2020.
The sanctions freeze the US assets of those designated and generally bars Americans from engaging in business dealings with them.
Mnangagwa Jr’s father, the Zimbabwean president, had his own US assets blocked in 2003 after the administration of then-President George W Bush sanctioned him for “undermining democratic processes or institutions in Zimbabwe”.
Monday’s announcement alleged that Mnangagwa Jr has been in charge of business interests owned by his father and related to Tagwirei.
In addition to Mnangagwa Jr, sanctions also hit Tagwirei’s wife Sandra Mpunga, as well as Sakunda’s chief marketing and public relations officer Nqobile Magwizi and Obey Chimuka, a business partner of Tagwirei.
Chimuka owns the civil works company Fossil Contracting and is the director of the agricultural chemical company Fossil Agro. Both firms were also sanctioned in connection to Tagwirei and his business.
“We urge the Zimbabwean government to take meaningful steps towards creating a peaceful, prosperous, and politically vibrant Zimbabwe, and to address the root causes of many of Zimbabwe’s ills: corrupt elites and their abuse of the country’s institutions for their personal benefit,” the Treasury’s undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, Brian Nelson, said in Monday’s statement.-Aljazeera
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa says Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration is condemning citizens to death through atrocious hospitals.
According to President Chamisa, the country’s hospitals are pathetic.
“THE HOSPITALS ARE SICK. The hospitals are in hospital.
This is so so sad, depressing and heartbreaking..Zimbabwe is not poor. It has poor leadership.
We must fix this! Zimbabwe, it’s time for change #Thistime.”
He added:
“In 2023, just next year, the time Zimbabwe holds the general elections, I will be 45 years young. My competitor will be 81 years old. Give us another 5 years, I will be 50 years energetic and my brother will be 86 years tired. #TheTimeHasCome”
President Chamisa also praised the Atlas Lions of Morocco for defeating Portugal.
“MOROCCO shines and breaks the record…We salute the Atlas Lions of Morocco for making history as the African continent’s flag-bearers, and being the first-ever team to reach the World Cup semi-finals. Bring the championship home!
HARARE – State owned power company, Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, says low water levels at the Kariba Dam are triggering the country’s current blackouts.

BIRTHDAY celebrations ended on a sad note last weekend for a group of friends from First Class Academy after one of them drowned in a private swimming pool in Fairbridge Park.
Parson Kupakwashe Msekiwa (18) of Chikanga Two was last week on Saturday pronounced dead on admission at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital after drowning at a private party they were having with his friends in Fairbridge Park.
The teenager was doing his Form Five studies at First Class Academy.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the death, saying before he died, Msekiwa was vomiting water that had entered into his lungs.
He said the incident happened around 4pm.
“The deceased and his friends were swimming when he dived into the deep-end of the swimming pool. He failed to swim and when his friends noticed it, they pulled him out of the pool. After being rescued from the pool, he started having difficulties in breathing as he lay besides the pool.
“He started vomiting water and was rushed to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital. Msekiwa died upon admission at the hospital,” he said.
Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said the matter was reported at Mutare Central Police Station and a post mortem revealed that Msekiwa died due to drowning and that there was no foul play suspected.
“He had no other physical injuries and drowning was stated as the cause of death after thorough investigations,” he said.
Assistant Inspector Chinyoka urged private and public pool owners to always have experienced lifeguards at hand when their pools are being utilised by the public to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
“We are urging the public to always have someone experienced at their swimming pools so that they will be readily available to rescue and offer the necessary help to those who will be swimming and might need help,” he said.
In an interview, First Class Academy director, Mr Stephen Mutsongodza, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the school for the loss.
He added that his school assisted the family during the difficult time.
“We offer our condolences to the family of the deceased child. The child and his friends had gone for an outing in Fairbridge Park outside the school arrangement and he drowned in a swimming pool while swimming. On behalf of First Class Academy, we are together with the Msekiwa family in mourning the departed. May you be consoled,” he said.

FIFA has confirmed that it has opened disciplinary procedures against Argentina and the Netherlands following a series of violent incidents in their Friday’s World Cup quarterfinal final.
The game was marred by several heated exchanges, prompting the referee to show a record total of eighteen yellow cards plus a red card in a single match.
According to a FIFA statement, the Dutch are facing an investigation into the team’s behaviour, while the charges against the Argentina football federation relate to player and staff misconduct and “order and security at matches.
Team misconduct charges are routine for collecting five yellow cards in a game and disciplinary cases were opened against both Argentina and the Netherlands, FIFA said.
Both federations could get the same 15,000 Swiss francs fine ($16,000) that FIFA’s disciplinary panel imposed twice on Saudi Arabia at this World Cup for team misconduct.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe
By-Police in Gutu ignored Zanu PF thugs who bashed CCC supporters at Mpandawana Growth Point in Gutu and instead arrested the victims.
The CCC supporters, Tinotenda Makumbe (20) and Jervas Makumbe (45), were allegedly abducted at Mpandawana Growth Point on 22 November 2022. They now face assault charges.

By James Gwati- MDC President Douglas Mwonzora said he had no obligation to initiate a conversation with his political rival CCC leader Nelson Chamisa.
Mwonzora said his relationship with Chamisa showed no sign of improving and described it as toxic.
The two officially parted ways acrimoniously at the beginning year after almost two years of legal battles over the control of the late former Prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC-founded political outfit.
Mwonzora says since they started fighting for MDC in 2020, he has not spoken to Chamisa.
He says their relations are worsened by Chamisa’s supporters, who bash him daily on social media.
Below is what Mwonzora told a local business publication: I have not spoken to Advocate Chamisa, I have not been able to talk to them, the CCC, because I find them very toxic and I think on Twitter, and on social media, there is a lot of hate that comes from their group. We have said every time that we stand for the unity of all progressive forces in the country so whether we are going to talk to each other in the future, I do not know but what I have noticed is a change of attitude in some of them towards me. Most of their MPs are friendlier now and the level of toxicity is no longer that big and I don’t know what is going to happen. You have said that I have spoken to Advocate Chamisa as if I have that obligation. We did meet but for something different, at a funeral and we did talk, we are not enemies I do not resent him at all. I do not know his attitude towards me.

By-Emmerson Mnangagwa aligned Zanu PF thugs have formed yet another parallel structure, “Land for Economic Development (ED.
These Zanu PF supporters said they wanted to use their group to target land and give it to the party’s youths.
Land4ED founder and leader Blessing Togarepi on Sunday told NewsDay that the organisation will not allow government officials in the Lands ministry to deny them vacant land. Said Togarepi:
Land4ED is there to ensure that the youth have access to land for free. We have noted that ordinary citizens have challenges in accessing land, therefore, we are there to enhance the process.
What happens is that those who need the land must identify vacant pieces and confirm with the land office that, indeed, they are vacant.
We will then write land application letters to Provincial Affairs ministers, the district development coordinators who chair the land committees at the district level, and the District Development Fund offices.
If the land is vacant, they will have no excuse to deny the people who come to their offices. We will report them to the party (ZANU PF) or their senior government authorities.
We are aware that officials are sitting on their jobs giving excuses to deny the youth access to land.
So if they give those excuses, we will corner them. Let’s say they claim that they do not have fuel, we will provide the transport.
If they are engaged elsewhere, they should assign their subordinates to do the paperwork, because what we want is the land.
Land4ED is one of the several ZANU PF associate groups created in recent months in support of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s re-election bid.
The other ZANU PF affiliated groups include Young Pastors For ED, Teachers For ED, and MenBelievED, among others. | NewsDay
By Own Correspondent In a move that will mark the biggest shift in conservative apostolic churches doctrines ,one of the churches will be opening a television channel in a few years to come. While addressing thousands of congregants at the Big Sunday of St John Apostolic Church of the Whole Word in Warren Park ,the founder and leader,Bishop Dr Sydney Mabhiza, said it was now logical for the church to embrace technology and that the establishing of own television channel was imminent. “We need to move with the times and I am glad we have already started broadcasting our services on social media platforms like Facebook and You Tube. “This helps us to connect with our congregants dotted around the globe,” Bishop Mabhiza said. He then challenged the church leadership to start working on acquiring a television license for the church and set 2030 is the target year to fulfill the vision. “Prophet Makandiwa and Magaya have television channels, nothing will stop us to have one and we will be the first apostolic church to establish a TV channel. “I am now instructing you the leadership of this church to start to work on a blueprint that will ensure that by 2030 we have an operating television channel,”instructed the cleric. “Before the TV ,we have to build a St John House in the capital which will then become the home of the television channel,”added Dr Mabhiza. Earlier on,the church’s head of Information Technology and Publications (ITP) ,Mr N.R Mariga chronicled how the church has been able to churn out church programmes and events online and encouraged congregants to subscribe to its You Tube channel. “The department has been able to broadcast church programmes and all events including this one on our Facebook Page and You Tube channel .This has allowed especially those in Diaspora to connect virtually when we host our programmes. “I encourage all of you to subscribe to our channel ,St Johns Tv on You Tube ,”Mariga told congregants. The department received a brand new commuter omnibus from a fellow congregant recently, which it believes will help execute its duties efficiently.
Good day champion residents of Kuwadzana Constituency.
Today we responded to the perennial power crisis currently bedeviling our communities.
We successfully installed photo voltaic (solar) 1000 Watts street lights in critical areas notorious with mugging, smash and grab in Tynwald South.
The lights were installed in the Sisk Area, the business Centre known as pa Speed as well as other economically strategic areas & high risk areas in Tynwald South. The programe was wholly funded from the CDF purse which shall be equally allocated across all our 3 wards but, shall address each ward’s specific requirements as requested by residents during the CDF Consultative Meetings we held a few months ago.
The street lighting project was made possible with the authorisation from the District Officer and the help from the City of Harare Engineers from the Lighting Department who provided the much required expertise. Residents also assisted with tools & labour which made our work very easy.
We shall be moving to Kuwadzana Phase 3 where we shall address the priority areas they indicated as we wind up with Ward 45.
We shall also move to Ward 44 & ward 38 on dates that shall be announced in due course.

Gareth Southgate is “conflicted” about his future as England manager.
The 52-year-old said in the aftermath of the Three Lions’ 2-1 loss to France at the quarter-final stage of the World Cup that he needed a bit of time before deciding on his future as England boss.
Southgate will – as with prior tournaments – review the World Cup with the FA in the coming weeks, but he has shrouded his future in doubt with his latest comments.
“I’ve found large parts of the last 18 months difficult,” Southgate said. “For everything that I’ve loved about the last few weeks, I still have … how things have been for 18 months. What’s been said and what’s been written. The night at Wolves. There’s lots of things in my head that’s really conflicted at the moment.”
The former Middlesbrough manager added that he wants to ensure that any decision that he does take is the correct one.
“What I want to make sure, if it’s the right thing to stay, is that I’ve definitely got the energy to do that,” he added.
“I don’t want to be four or five months down the line thinking, ‘I’ve made the wrong call.’ It’s too important for everybody to get that wrong.”
Southgate has now been in charge of England for three major tournaments, and he has spoken of the physical and mental toll coaching the national team has taken on him.
“When I’ve been through the past few tournaments, my emotions have been difficult to really think through properly in those following few weeks,” he said.
“It took so much energy out of you and you have so much going through your mind.
“I want to make the right decision either way because it has to be the right one to go again, or the right one not to go again, and I don’t think now is the time to make a decision like that. Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken for the first time since Portugal’s elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Selecao lost 1-0 to Morocco in the quarterfinal clash played on Saturday to bow out of the tournament.
Reports emerged before the game suggesting that Ronaldo was unhappy with coach Fernando Santos after he was dropped to the bench.
The Portuguese superstar didn’t make the first XI for the last-16 clash against Switzerland and then again for Friday’s quarter-final loss.
The 37-year-old has denied the reports in a statement posted on his social media pages.
“Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career,” he wrote.
“Fortunately I won many titles of international dimension, including Portugal, but putting our country’s name on the highest foot in the World was my biggest dream.
“We I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream. In the five appearances I scored in World Cups over 16 years, always by the side of great players and supported by millions of Portuguese, I gave my all. Leave it all out on the field. I never turned my face to the fight and I never gave up on that dream.
“Sadly yesterday (Friday) the dream ended. It’s not worth reacting in the heat of the moment. I just want you all to know that much has been said, much has been written, much has been speculated, but my dedication to Portugal has not changed not for a moment. I was always one fighting for the objective of all and I would never turn my back on my colleagues and my country.”
Concluding the statement, Ronaldo seemingly confirmed his international retirement.
“For now, there’s not much more to say. Thank you, Portugal. Thank you, Qatar. The dream was beautiful while it lasted… Now, it’s time to be a good advisor and allow each one to draw their own conclusions,” the statement concludes.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

By Simba Chikanza | In his ignorance, or is it arrogance?, Hopewell Chin’ono, uses a Nkosana Moyo video to say the opposition MPs must donate their backdated USD40,000 remuneration money to hospital needs, not knowing that has been done already and all that was donated was destroyed.
It is a remuneration package for all MPs, that was supposed to be paid years ago.
Zimbabwean MPs are paid USD117.00 salary per month, plus perks.
Hopewell says he is better than Job Sikhala, Tendai Biti and their team, on exposing health issues. Yet no one has given the public information and tools on looting than Tendai Biti, and no one has confronted the regime more than Job Sikhala and their team on not ony health issues, but the very root of corruption in ways never done since 1980 (watch the Youtube video titled “WIWA WIWA”
Why not tell people that the 40K issue is in fact a breakthrough that shows the the looted money is accessible and for insyance the USD7bln ide tidied by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission, can now be used to resurface all hospitals and refurbish all schools across the country?
Chin’ono however instead turns the people’s anger to go against the very victims, while making it appear like he is the best thing to ever happen in Zimbabwe. He makes it out like he is the most honest thing to ever happen in Zimbabwe. Assuming opposition MPs are downright dishonest, selfish, and horrible as he desribes them at least we know who they are.
I revealed this matter a month before on the 26th October 2022, and Chin’ono only caught up with it on the 26 Nov 2022 by which time it had become clear the payments to MPs are backdated disbursements to MPs negotiated as loans (by the ZANU PF govt) because the USD667 per person per month had not been paid, and the total of which gets to USD40,000.
Hopewell Chin'ono Says Chamisa's MPs Must Donate the Backdated USD40K To VP Chiwenga Run Hospitals | GOOD or FOOLISH IDEA?
By A Correspondent| In a move that will mark the biggest shift in conservative apostolic churches doctrines ,one of the churches will be opening a television channel in a few years to come.
