About Road Safety

The World Health Organization (WHO) welcomes the political declaration to be adopted by Member States during the High-level Meeting of the UN General Assembly on Global Road Safety.

It commits to cut road traffic deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030, a milestone for road safety and sustainable mobility.

The meeting takes place on 30 June – 1 July 2022 under the theme “The 2030 horizon for road safety: securing a decade of action and delivery”.

Road safety affects everyone. We step from our homes every day onto roads that take us to our jobs, schools and to meet our vital daily needs.

Yet our transport systems remain far too dangerous. No death should be acceptable on our roads. The future of mobility should promote health and well-being, protect the environment and benefit all,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, WHO. “It will require transformative leadership from the highest levels of government to act on the Political Declaration to make that vision a reality.”

Worldwide, road crashes currently kill around 1.3 million people each year – more than 2 every minute, and more than 90% occur in low- and middle-income countries. Crashes are the biggest killer of children and young people globally.

More than 50 million people have died on the world’s roads since the invention of the automobile, more than the number of deaths in the First World War or in some of the worst global epidemics.

WHO is the lead agency for road safety in the United Nations and supported the President of the UN General Assembly in preparing this High-Level Meeting in collaboration with other UN agencies.

Through the declaration governments from around the world commit to provide leadership and coordination at the highest level of government to ensure all parts of the society are included to act on road safety and commit to boost policies and actions to reduce deaths and injuries. The declaration calls for the development and funding of national and local plans with clear targets and funding.

“Road traffic deaths upend countless lives and cost countries around 3% of GDP each year,” notes Dr Etienne Krug, Director of the Department for Social Determinants of Health, WHO. “This is an unacceptable price to pay for mobility. Putting safety at the heart of our mobility systems is an urgent health, economic and moral imperative. Let’s work together to scale up what works, save lives and build streets for life.”

In September 2020, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to proclaim the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021–2030. WHO and the UN regional commissions, in cooperation with other partners in the UN Road Safety Collaboration, have developed a Global Plan for the Decade of Action, which was released in October 2021.

The plan calls for continued improvements in the design of roads and vehicles, enhancement of laws and law enforcement, and provision of timely, life-saving emergency care for the injured. In addition, it promotes healthy and environmentally sound modes of transport.

It also highlights that responsibility for road safety stretches far beyond health and transport. Urban planners and engineers must prioritize safety as a core value in all transport infrastructure while businesses can influence and contribute to strengthening road safety by applying safety-first principles to their entire value chains.

Countries and cities guided by the plan are seeing dramatic reductions in deaths. For example, the Colombian capital of Bogota halved deaths over 10 years through a set of integrated actions, including wide-ranging technical improvements and regulatory reforms that were driven by strong leadership.

St Martins Housing Scheme, City Of Harare Square Off

About 200 home-seekers and the Harare City Council (HCC) are facing off over stands allocated under the St Martins Housing Scheme along Airport Road in Harare.

The homeseekers, who belong to the Happiness Housing Pay Scheme, claim that they entered into an agreement with the local authority to purchase the stands in 2019, but up to now have not been given the greenlight to begin developing the stands.

Some of the beneficiaries are set to lose their stands, which are part of the 200-metre buffer zone of the Commando Barracks along Airport Road in Harare despite paying for them.

The local authority allocated the stands to the beneficiaries in the medium density suburb of St Martins on layout plan number TP2F/CR/022, with sizes ranging between 300 and 2 000 square metres.

It was agreed that members of the pay for your house scheme would contribute resources on a pro-rata basis as determined by the project management committee for the completion of infrastructural development of the area.

The members, however, claim that they paid the full servicing fee in 2019, but the council failed to take the necessary steps to ensure that the land was serviced. Yesterday, they gathered at the allocated area, hoping to hold a meeting with the city fathers.

Happiness Housing Pay Scheme spokesperson Farai Nyamupinga said:  “According to the agreement we had with the local authority, we were supposed to have monthly meetings to discuss issues of concern.  What we had was less than 10 meetings in five years since 2019.”

He said over the weekend, they were surprised that the council now planned to bring in a surveyor without their knowledge.

“We raised over $500 000 for the servicing of the area, but it was wiped out by inflation before anything was done. We deserve to know as stakeholders what will happen to our land.”

Harare City Council spokesperson Innocent Ruwende confirmed that some of the beneficiaries were set to lose their stands, but said they would receive alternative allocations.

“Our plans were approved, but the issue of the buffer zone by the soldiers was raised thereafter, so it is beyond our control. So those people who were allocated stands within the 200-metre buffer zone will be reallocated stands elsewhere and this is for security reasons. We also later received an ecological report that showed that some of the allocated stands are in a wetland so those again will be affected because there are no two ways on wetlands conservation. There is no attempt to prejudice stands,” Ruwende said.

Chairperson of the pay scheme, Dave Jenje said: “It appears the local authority is failing to abide by its own laws. It is questionable why the local authority would allocate a stand without giving allowance for the buffer zone of the barracks. Up to now, the environment impact assessment hasn’t yet been conducted. Some of the beneficiaries have already passed on before they have enjoyed their benefits. Council should follow the necessary procedures so that we benefit from what is due to us.”

Ziyambi Reveals Zanu PF Rigging Scheme

Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi said that ZANU PF will lead the delimitation process to demarcate constituency boundaries for the upcoming 2023 harmonized elections.

Ziyambi’s remarks may be construed by critics of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) as confirmation that the electoral body doesn’t have full control over electoral processes.

According to the electoral law, ZEC is solely responsible for conducting the delimitation exercise to ensure free and fair elections.

Addressing ZANU PF Mashonaland West delegates attending a provincial coordinating committee (PCC) meeting held at Mazvikadei Resort over the weekend, Ziyambi said:

“We, as the governing party, will lead the delimitation process.

“You cannot say that you are ruling and do things that result in you getting out of power.
There is no political party that boots itself out of power.

“As ZANU PF, we must do things that we are all agreeable to as we come up with electoral boundaries.

“We will have another meeting to discuss how the delimitation process is going to be conducted.”

Delimitation of parliamentary constituencies and wards is determined by the number of registered voters in an area. The exercise is done soon after the population and housing census.

Ziyambi also said delimitation consultations within ZANU PF will start soon in Mashonaland West, before rolling out to the other nine provinces.

The Zvimba West legislator hinted that the province, currently with 22 parliamentary seats, could have two or three additional seats to be created by the upcoming delimitation exercise.

Female Sperm Harvesters On The Prowl

By A Corresspondent- A group of female sperm harvesters is reportedly on the loose in Bulawayo after three women drugged and sexually assaulted a man who they had given a lift.

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube, told The Chronicle on Monday evening, that three unknown women allegedly waylaid a 26-year-old man from the Pumula South suburb.

They pretended to be asking for directions and offered him a lift so that he could show them around. Said Insp Ncube:

Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of aggravated indecent assault whereby a male adult aged 26 of Pumula South was sexually abused by three unknown female adults.

Last month, three women allegedly kidnapped and took turns sexually assaulting a 21-year-old man in Harare. The trio gave a lift to the man, along Samora Machel Avenue, before injecting him with an unknown substance. They then took turns raping him and collecting his semen.

In Bulawayo, 2016, three women allegedly abducted a man from Cowdray Park and forced him to have sex with them before taking away his semen.

The suspected sperm harvesters were said to be driving a white Toyota Cresta.

In 2011, three Gweru women were arrested after being intercepted at a road-block with 31 used condoms containing semen.

The three, Rosemary Chakwizira, 24, Sophie Nhokwara, 26, and Netsai Nhokwara, 24, all of Mkoba Village Four, faced 17 counts of aggravated indecent assault but were acquitted due to lack of evidence.

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube, said on Monday evening, three unknown women allegedly waylaid a 26-year-old man from Pumula South suburb into their car after asking him for directions.

“Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of aggravated indecent assault whereby a male adult aged 26 of Pumula South was sexually abused by three unknown female adults,” he said.

Circumstances are that on the 27th of June 2022 at around 1900 hours the complainant was walking along an unnamed tarred road in Old Pumula, Bulawayo when he was stopped by one unknown female adult who was driving a blue Honda Fit (registration number unknown). “The driver asked the complainant for directions to reach Ashy’s Sports Bar, Pumula South, Bulawayo. The complainant offered to accompany the accused person since he was also going in the same direction,” said Insp Ncube.

He said the man entered the car and saw two more female occupants who were seated in the back passenger seat.

“The two female accused persons made the complainant sit in the middle and asked him what he was drinking. The complainant showed the accused person opaque beer, which he had poured into a water bottle,” said Insp Ncube. “The accused persons offered the complainant a glass of beer, which he failed to identify from its taste and he drank it once,” said Insp Ncube.

He said after gulping the drink the man lost consciousness and woke up on a bed with the three women naked.

“The complainant became unconscious after drinking the beer and only gained consciousness when he was lying on a bed in a house somewhere with one female accused person standing naked beside the bed but he cannot remember the place.

“The accused person undressed the complainant who then lost consciousness again,” said Insp Ncube.

He said the man woke up the next morning, dumped near Robert Sinyoka Primary School.

“The complainant gained consciousness on 28 June 2022 at around 05:45 hours and he found himself lying by the roadside near Robert Sinyoka Primary School, Pumula, Bulawayo.

“The complainant discovered some whitish substance on his stomach while passing urine and he suspected that the accused persons might have had sexual intercourse with him without his consent while he was in their custody,” said Insp Ncube.

He said on the same day at around 10AM, the man narrated the ordeal to his aunt who then accompanied him to the police station where he made a report.

Insp Ncube urged members of the public to help with information that will lead to the arrest of the women.

“We urge public members not to entertain and accept free rides from strangers. We appeal to the members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to report to the nearest police station,” he said.

The rape of men is viewed as something hard to believe, as many in society cannot comprehend how a man can be erect and ejaculate under duress.

Traditionalists say it is possible for men to be raped and these women might be using the sperm for ritual purposes such as getting rich.

Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers Association president, Mr George Kandiero, said the victim will be in a semi-conscious but sexually aroused state.

“They give the men aphrodisiacs and after that one will be semi-paralysed and at the same time you are very aroused,” he said.

Then they do as they wish with the person. The way of extraction is part of the ritual for them to get their desired results. They either use the semen for money rituals or even to fix certain men or to lure them. There’s muthi, as they mix it with semen and bathe with it,” said Mr Kandiero.

He said the victims need to be spiritually cleansed.

“Unfortunately for the victim, they need cleansing as this will affect them in bed as they won’t perform anymore and spiritually, you’re no longer okay. They need a diviner who will find out what happened to the victim as this is witchcraft,” said Mr Kandiero.

He said the sperm has to be taken by duress as the spells will not work if it is given up voluntarily.

Mr Kandiero said some women collect the sperm for rich people. -statemedia

Delish Nguwaya Threatens City Of Harare Over Pomona Deal

By A Correspondent| Controversial businessman Dilesh Nguwaya who is at the centre of the disputed Pomona waste to energy joint venture deal with City of Harare has threatened to terminate the agreement following the local authority’s failure to pay May service fees.

In a notice of default letter to City of Harare, Nguwaya who is the Country Director for Netherlands based GeoGenix B.V said the Concession Agreement accords him powers to take remedial action in case of the municipality failing to respect its contractual obligations.

“In accordance with article 30.1 of the Joint Venture Concession Agreement to Design, Build, Operate and Transfer of Harare Pomona Waste Management  Facility and Waste to Energy Plant, entered into between the City of Harare and GeoGenix B.V on 9 March 2022 (the Concession Agreement), we hereby invoke our right to notify you that as of 1 July 2022, the City of Harare is in default of its obligation to pay the fees to Geo Pomona Waste Management (PVT) Limited (the company”) within the prescribed term,” said Nguwaya.

He further accused City of Harare of intentionally refusing to meet its obligation to the project which he said is forcing Geo Pomona to charge 12 percent interest on outstanding May service fee.

Nguwaya added that the concession agreements empowers him to take remedial action should City of Harare fail to take action within 90 days of default notice.

“We remind you that when the contracting Authority Event of Default is in effect, the Concession Agreement accords us the following remedial rights to be taken within 90 days of this notice;

“Extend the construction period and thus delay the project handover delivery date

“Cease all services to the City of Harare and/or

“Terminate the Concession Agreement resulting in Early Termination Compensation Amounts immediately due and payable by the City of Harare,” added Nguwaya.

Reached for a comment, City of Harare Mayor Councilor Jacob Mafume said they stand guided by a council resolution that suspended the Agreement pending investigations into the deal.

“We have a standing council resolution to suspend the project and as far as we are concerned that resolution is still in effect. Only a council resolution can suspend another resolution,” said Mafume.

Zanu PF Regime Postpones Sikhala, Sithole Freedom

By-The High Court has deferred to Thursday the hearing of an appeal for bail by CCC legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole.

The bail hearing was moved after the prosecution again deployed its usual delaying tactics of requesting time to file its response.

The duo is appealing against a magistrate’s decision not to grant them bail pending trial on charges of incitement to commit violence.

They were arrested for demanding justice for the gruesome murder of the late Moreblessing Ali, who was their party activist.

They were denied bail last week by Harare magistrate Mr Gibson Mandaza.

Denying the duo bail, Mr Mandaza ruled that the legislators were a threat to public security and were likely to re-offend if released on bail.

Ali was abducted outside a nightclub in Nyatsime on May 14 and her dismembered remains were discovered in a disused well at a farm in Beatrice, about 10km away from where she was taken.

The prime suspect in her murder, Pius Jamba (31), has since been arrested and was remanded in custody.

Sikhala and Sithole were arrested on June 14 charged with conspiring to engage in acts of violence to avenge the killing.

Commenting on the delays by the state to grant their senior members bail, CCC said the regime was persecuting the two.

Posted CCC on Twitter:

Late Teacher’s Spirit Torments School

A PROPHETESS has told villagers and school authorities that the reported incidents of goblin attacks at Majiji Primary School in Bubi, Matabeleland North were being caused by the spirit of a late teacher.

The prophetess, Sithembiso Moyo believes the spirit tormenting the school and has forced its closure was of a male teacher who died at the school some time ago.

The school was forced to close last month after school children, female teachers and women in nearby villages were tormented by some unnatural occurrences.

Last Friday, a cleansing ceremony was conducted at the school where Moyo made the revelations.

The affected teachers, parents and villagers from surrounding areas all gathered at the school for the ceremony.

“There is a spirit of a male teacher who died at the school. The family of the long deceased teacher failed to perform traditional rituals to cleanse his spirit from the school and his spirit is now troubled,” Moyo said.

“It is today that we get rid of it and make sure that the spirit of the late teacher will be exorcised and tamed so that he rests in peace.”

She also said the other problem was caused by a strange goat that has remained roaming at the school, and whose owners are not known.

“There is another strange goat that resides in one of the school houses whose owner is not known. The school says the goat has been at the school for some months and the owner is not known,“ Moyo said.

She revealed that there is room that is not being used at the school but is full of property belonging to one of the staff members who does not reside at the school and has vehemently refused to have the room allocated to a resident teacher.

School Development chairperson John Sibanda said after a fake prophet earlier failed to cleanse the school last month, a new committee was formed to handle the matter and prophetess Moyo was engaged.

“She began her cleansing rituals last Friday on a cold rainy day. She gathered the affected teachers and the nearby villagers. One teacher testified that she had been seeing a shadowy figure that would ‘strangle’ her.

During the process, she would be powerless to fight back. The same strange shadow would sexually abuse her, which is terrifying. We hope that the ceremony yields positive results,” Sibanda said

President Chamisa As Fit As A Fiddle

Tinashe Sambiri|CCC has dismissed a false report claiming that President Nelson Chamisa was diagnosed with cancer.

CCC spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi Mahere on Monday described the report as ” malicious black propaganda” emanating from the “last kicks of a dying horse.”

Zanu PF’s intelligence system is desperate to discredit the yellow revolution on social media.

“This story circulating on WhatsApp is fake news,” Advocate Mahere said.

CCC Youth Assembly spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma said:

CCC Slams Mnangagwa Over Presecution Of Women

Tinashe Sambiri|The Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa has a documented history of tormenting women, dating back to the early 80s.

This was said by CCC Youth Assembly spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma.

Chuma denounced Zanu PF’s desperate attempt to soil CCC spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi Mahere’s image.

“ZANU PF has a history of abusing women.

Ask Dr Fay Chung, Dr Amai & Dr Joy Mujuru. Misogynists at Jongwe House! Now their swords are on
@advocatemahere
! Her crime is speaking truth to power.

Mongoloids have circulated around her reputation! Aluta continua,” Chuma argued.

Zanu PF Stealing From Poor People

Tinashe Sambiri| The Zanu PF regime is using gold coins to steal from the poor, CCC vice president Hon Tendai Biti has said.

According to Hon Biti, gold coins will not solve the economic crisis in the country.

On Monday Hon Biti said:
“The gold coin will not solve the structural crises arising from exchange rate collapse, excess money, inflation & unemployment. Instead, it is another gimmick for extraction & arbitrage.

They never tire from devising ways of transferring wealth from the poor, the State to elites.”

CCC Quartet In Court For Supporting President Chamisa

Tinashe Sambiri|The trial of four CCC members who were arrested last month for spearheading President Nelson Chamisa’s campaign programmes in Zaka has been postponed to July 26.

The presiding magistrate was not available due to an ailment, according to court officials.

However CCC says the whole thing is calculated to frustrate party members.

The four were arrested for “convening a public meeting without approval of regulatory authority.”

Johannes Chongore, Manners Mundoga ,Method Gwangwava and Tendai Machisani were arrested and taken to CID Law and Order Masvingo last month.

” The trial of our four members has been postponed to July 26. We condemn the harassment of our members for carrying out their democratic and constitutional duties as enshrined in the Constitution of Zimbabwe,” CCC Masvingo said in a brief statement.

PSMAS Dishes Out $1 Billion Management Fees

State Media – Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) and its subsidiary Premier Service Medical Investments (PSMI) channelled nearly $1 billion to their Holding Company in management fees at a time when the institution was struggling to settle about $743 million worth of service provider claims.

Ironically, PSMAS has been struggling to have its card accepted by service providers due to delayed payments, most of which are done beyond the stipulated statutory 60-day period but has enough for the top brass, insiders said.

The institution has also been struggling to stock its pharmacies resulting in the majority of its membership being turned away without medication.

According to the organisation’s 2021 financial report, PSMAS collected nearly $8 billion during the period under review from which $ 500 million was channelled to Premier Service Holding Company in management fees alone.

Similarly, PSMI channelled almost the same amount to the same Holding Company, further financially constraining the organisation.

Oddly, during the same year, PSMI introduced co-payments to all PSMAS card-carrying members, and members are now required to pay US$5 or its equivalent for consultation fees.

Insiders at PSMAS House claim that though these management fees, which constitute five percent of all PSMAS revenue and five percent of PSMI revenue were approved by the board and are within acceptable thresholds in corporate governance, they are an unnecessary cost to members’ subscription.

“Whilst some quarters are arguing that members’ subscriptions are meagre and cannot sustain either PSMAS or PSMI operations, management is busy slitting that little subscription into non-core business. The Holding Company is an unnecessary entity as it creates unnecessary expenses for the Society and with the current state of affairs, it is not clear whether the Society is still abiding by the statutory requirement of channelling 80 percent of every dollar collected towards service provision,” said the insiders.

Best practices in the medical aid industry require 80 percent of every dollar collected from a member towards payment of claims, 15 percent for administration, and 5 percent must be on reserve.

Another insider from PSMI said the management fees were unfair for workers as they have been struggling to get salaries on time yet management fees are paid religiously and on time.

“Employees from the Holding Company have never gone without a salary as they feed on these management fees, yet we can go for months on half salaries. The most painful thing is this expense is unnecessary worse now that they even want to introduce two more structures beyond the Holding Company,” said the insider.

According to the Deed of Trust document, PSMAS intends to have a Board for the Holding Company appointed by Trustees. The Trustees are appointed by members at an AGM.

While board sitting allowances do not account for a huge chunk of PSMAS expenses, some board members have a tendency of abusing their power for personal gain. Some of the cases already in the public domain include the procurement of vehicles for board members. -Herald

About Road Accidents

Army Takes Over 200 Harare Stands Due to Buffer Zone

The army is set to disposess 200 stand owners due to a statutory buffer zone, it has emerged.

The homeseekers and the Harare City Council (HCC) have squared off over stands allocated under the St Martins Housing Scheme along Airport Road in Harare.

Council should follow the necessary procedures so that we benefit from what is due to us.” Newsday

Civil Servants To Go On Strike for 2 Weeks

Civil servants yesterday gave the government a two-week ultimatum to address their salary grievances or face a crippling strike likely to paralyse public services, especially the health and education sectors.
Public sector workers have been demanding to be paid in United States dollars citing continued depreciation of local currency, and high inflation, which rose to 191,7% in June.

Workers say they are being forced to source for US dollars from the parallel market to pay rentals and other expenses that are now being charged in foreign currency while the government is insisting on paying them in local currency.

Civil servants are, however, allowed to withdraw US$100 from their salaries and are given another US$75 as COVID-19 allowances.

In a notice dated July 4, directed to the Public Service Commission (PSC), the unions said they were finding it difficult to make ends meet with the current inflation rates.

“The Public Service Association, the Federation of Zimbabwe Educators Unions, the Federation of Educators Unions of Zimbabwe and Nurses Federations of Zimbabwe hereby give notice of service wide industrial action within 14 days of the date of this notice,” read the notice.

“Be advised that the industrial action hereby notified is in respect of a long overdue cost of living adjustment that speaks to the food basket that now stands at $114 000 against the latest adjustment to ZWL$36 000 for the lowest paid worker.”

Zimbabwe Nurses Association president Enock Dongo said: “We are together with all other civil servants to demand civil servants wages. Government should take the notice seriously. The 100% that they tried to offer us was far short. They have to address our grievances soon, and we are not turning back,” Dongo said.

Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Obert Masaraure said failure to comply with their demand for United States dollar salaries and improved working conditions would force them to embark on a collective job action as provided for under section 65(3) of the Constitution.

Last month, workers gave the government a one-week ultimatum to address their salary grievances saying they were tired of unfulfilled promises.

They went on a one week strike and the government gave them a 100% salary increase, which they rejected.

Nurses also went on strike but returned to work to allow for negotiations.

Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare secretary Simon Masanga yesterday told NewsDay that negotiations with civil servants were going on.

“As far as we are concerned as a government, we have agreed with the workers’ team led by Ms Cecilia Alexander that we are having a meeting of the National Joint Negotiating Council on Monday next week to discuss the issues and conditions of civil servants. I don’t want to say much, all I can say is that it’s a continuation of negotiations,” Masanga said.-Newsday

Top Zimbabwean Diplomat Dies

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT, DR E.D. MNANGAGWA, FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF AMBASSADOR ANDREW HAMA MTETWA, HARARE, 4TH JULY, 2022

I learnt with deep grief and a sense of loss the passing on yesterday morning of one of our veteran ambassadors in the foreign service, Ambassador Andrew Hama Mtetwa.

An eminent scholar and historian, the late Ambassador Mtetwa belonged to the pioneering crop of black Zimbabweans who joined the civil service in the early years of our Independence in the 80s.

They were our change agents upon whom we relied to transform a predominantly white minority-dominated civil service in order to give it a new look reflecting the majority dispensation under the First Republic. In the case of the late departed, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Under Secretary and rose through the ranks to ultimately head the Ministry as permanent secretary. In that capacity, he played a critical role in shaping and defining our country’s foreign policy. He will be remembered for his diligence and hard work as one of our longest-serving career diplomats who advanced and defended our national interests at the various stations he served as our ambassador, including at the African Union. On retirement from the diplomatic service, he continued to share the knowledge he had acquired in the foreign service as a lecturer in diplomacy at the then Zimbabwe Defence College, now National Defence University. At the time of his demise, he had just been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Zimbabwe Foreign Service Institute. Our Nation is all the poorer with his passing on.

In recognition of his long, outstanding and loyal service to Zimbabwe, I have granted the late Ambassador a State-assisted funeral.

On behalf of Government, and indeed on my behalf, I wish to express my sincere condolences to the Mtetwa Family following the loss of the dear departed. May they take comfort from the knowledge that their loss is shared by our Nation in whose service he gave his utmost.
May his dear soul rest in eternal peace.

E.D. Mnangagwa President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa Criminalises Public Guns Displays

By- The government has warned licensed firearm holders against displaying their weapons in public.

In a statement this week, Police spokesperson Assistant Paul Nyathi said firearm holders must ensure that firearms are properly and safely secured.

Nyathi said:
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges members of the public or organisations who are licensed to possess firearms in terms of provisions of the Firearms Act Chapter 10:09 for various reasons which include cash in transit crop protection and business premises security to religiously comply with the law and stop carrying or displaying such firearms in public gatherings, shopping centres, service stations and other public places,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.

He added: “The police will not hesitate to enforce the withdrawal of the firearm licences, besides effecting arrests on anyone who abuses the privilege of legally owning a firearm. The public is therefore reminded to take this warning seriously.”

More Prison Nights For Sikhala, Sithole

By-The High Court has deferred to Thursday the hearing of an appeal for bail by CCC legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole.

The bail hearing was moved after the prosecution once again deployed thier usual delaying tactics of requesting time to file its response.

CCC Activists Tortured Over Fake Zanu PF Abductions

By- The state security agents have severely tortured three Manicaland CCC activists over fake Zanu PF Chimanimani youth chairman abduction claims.

Chengetai Musudu, Hakata Musudu and Aaron Chizemo were last weeks arrested in connection with the claimed abduction of the Zanu PF official Nicholas Madzianike.

NewZimbabwe.com reports that Madzianike was found this weekend after visiting his girlfriend in Mozambique after a week of honeymoon.

Police confirmed at the weekend without giving more details that Madzianike had been found.

ZRP posted on Twitter:
The ZRP reports that the missing Zanu PF Youth Chairman for Bumba District in Chimanimani, Nicholas Madzianike who went missing on 19/06/22 has been found and is currently being interviewed by the Police.
However, sources in Chimanimani said Madzianike was discovered on Saturday soon after returning from Mozambique where he had gone to see his girlfriend.

Sikhala’s Health Deteriorates In Prison

By-Reports from Chikurubi Maximum Prison say that the health of CCC deputy chairman Job Sikhala is deteriorating.

Dr Philani Zamchiya, a renowned academic, posted on his social media platforms demanding the release of Wiwa.

Dr Zamchiya said Sikhala was being persecuted:

Dear Reader,

The authoritarian regime in Harare must RELEASE Job Wiwa Sikhala from ILLEGAL DETENTION in remand PRISON. Wiwa is a vociferous opposition Member of Parliament who belongs to the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Wiwa faces FRIVOLOUS & VEXATIOUS charges of inciting violence. These charges have no merit even to an OUTER LEGAL EYE. Reader, Wiwa is cut from the school of NON-VIOLENT DIRECT CONFRONTATION. He, therefore can not even HARM a FLY. Now, Wiwa has fallen SERIOUSLY ILL in prison. He struggles to BREATHE. He struggles to WALK. Still they LOCK HIM. Still they CHAIN HIM. Surely the REGIME is going TOO FAR.

Sikhala’s ill-health was announced by social rights activist and Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono when he visited the vibrant opposition leader at Chikurubi last week.

Zimbabwean Youngster Joins Newcastle United

Zimbabwean forward Michael Ndiweni has signed his first professional contract with English Premier League side Newcastle United.

The 18-year-old was offered the deal last month following an impressive campaign with the Newcastle United Academy. He scored 14 times in 19 matches at the under-18 level last season, recording three goals during the young Magpies’ FA Youth Cup campaign.

His performance caught the eye of coach Eddie Howe, and the youngster was called up to train with the senior team in March.

Ndiweni signed the contract in the presence of his family.

“It’s a proud moment for myself, my family and friends because it’s something I’ve been working for ever since I arrived at the club,” the young forward said after signing the deal.

“That was the number one goal – to live my dream of becoming a professional footballer for my boyhood club. My friends and family support Newcastle, so it’s a good feeling saying you are a professional footballer at the club all your friends and people in the area support.

“Up until my injury, last season was one of the best I’ve had. I scored regularly for the under-18s, trained with the first team and was involved with the under-23s, so I think I made good progress throughout the year.”

Ndiweni, who joined United’s youth set-up in 2016 from Newcastle City Juniors, picked an injury in May and went on to miss the remaining seven games of the season.

The teenager was born in England to Zimbabwean parents and is eligible to play for Zimbabwe. His father coaches youth football in Newcastle.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

“Publicise Compensation Agreement”: CCC MP

By A Correspondent- Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator Allan Norman Markham has insisted that the US$3.5 billion compensation agreement between government and white former commercial farmers should be made public so that Zimbabweans know what is going on.

The Harare North member of parliament was expressing concern in Parliament last week after being given a 3-page summary of the document by the Ministry of Finance.

Government signed the agreement with representatives of white former commercial farmers in 2020 with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, at the time, saying the deal was a significant step towards bringing closure to the land reform programme.

Last week, Markham pressed Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube for the full document but the treasury chief pleaded confidentiality.

“On the Global Settlement Deed, it was my intention to give him a three page summary and here are my reasons,” said Professor Ncube.

“This is still a document signed under restricted conditions of confidentiality. It only becomes public when they have signed the cessation and when we are ready to pay,  then it comes before this House for approval and I will table it before this House for approval properly.

“For now, it is still in abeyance as a negotiation document. We have no wish to release it and if I do, then I am violating the agreement with the farmers, they will be very upset.”

Markham insisted however, that the agreement should be put before Parliament in full.

“We, as a House, need to know what is happening and what we are tying ourselves to for the future.  I do not accept any confidential agreement on a loan that I have paid taxes to,” he said.

Zim Forward Signs For EPL Side Newcastle United

His father coaches youth football in Newcastle.

Sikhala Dying In Prison

By-Reports from Chikurubi Maximum Prison say that CCC deputy chairman Job Sikhala is being denied medication.

Sikhala is said to be unwell since last week.

His ill-health was announced by social rights activist and Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono when he visited the vibrant opposition leader at Chikurubi.

Posting on their social media platform, CCC said Sikhala was being denied access to medication for the unidentified ailment.

CCC posted:

We are receiving reports that Hon

@JobSikhala1

is being denied medical attention. He is being detained unjustly for performing his duties as a lawyer on behalf of Moreblessing Ali’s family. Lawyers must not be persecuted for representing their clients.

Sikhala Bail Hearing Postponed To Thursday

By A Correspondent| The High Court has postponed Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala’s bail hearing to Thursday after the state failed to file its papers on time.

Sikhala who was arrested together with Chitungwiza North legislator Godfrey Sithole on allegations of inciting violence at the funeral of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali.

They were denied bail at the Harare Magistrates court, forcing them to approach the High Court where the matter was struck off the roll on the grounds that their lawyers had not secured a transcript of the proceedings from the lower court.

Confirming the news to ZimEye, CCC Deputy Spokesperson Gift Siziba said;

“Hon Job Sikhala and Sithole bail hearing has been postponed to Thursday 9am at the High court. The state failed to file its papers thus the hearing could not proceed.”

Wadyajena Hits Back At GMAZ Boss

By A Correspondent- Gokwe Nembudziya legislator Mayor Wadyajena has hit back at Grain Millers Association (GMAZ) chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara who accused the lawmaker of bullying him out of a grain transportation deal.

The GMAZ boss recently mounted a High Court application against Wadyajena, who is also the parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands chairperson, complaining that the MP illegally grabbed his association’s business opportunity.

association chairperson also submitted that, in elbowing him out, Wadyajena exhibited “his interests in the cause of bias, malice or corruption in the manner he conducted himself throughout the proceedings”.

Wadyajena’s committee ordered an inquiry into the use of US$28,2 million availed to GMAZ by government for wheat imports and with resolutions presented before Parliament in May 2020.

GMAZ wants that resolutions set aside on that grounds that they were unconstitutional.

Musarara also said the  association was not given an opportunity to clear themselves on the issue of the US$28,2 million, adding that Wadyajena even tarnished him on social media.

But Wadyajena hit back, stating that Parliament had the privilege to act in a manner it did.

“In any event, the relief sought interferes with the oversight role of Parliament in violation of the principle of separation of powers, hence it is incompetent for the applicants to seek such an order,” he said.

GMAZ is the first applicant in the matter, while Drotsky (Private) Limited and Musarara are second and third respondents respectively.

Wadyajena urged the court to dismiss Musarara’s application on grounds that it was filed out of time.

“Musarara and his legal team chose to abstain from the meeting,” the legislator argued.

“In view of this, the contention by the applicants that they were not afforded adequate opportunity to give evidence does not hold water.”

Wadyajena said Musarara still has an opportunity to defend himself before the court.

Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda, also gave his response, stating that everything done in the House was above board.

“The proceedings which took place before the first and third respondents are immune from any scrutiny by this honourable court or any other person outside Parliament in terms of section 5 (1) of the Powers of Parliament Act, chapter 2:08 and Parliament had authority to investigate and interview the applicants through its Committee to determine the fate of the public funds in the sum of US$28,2 million, which were disbursed to the first applicant for wheat imports by the ministry of Finance through the RBZ.”

Mudenda said Parliament has a constitutional mandate to find out whether such funds were used for the intended purpose.

“We are witnessing a pattern of unrelenting assault on the Citizens movement after the arrest of Hon Sikhala, Sithole and 11 others.

Former Top Diplomat Dies

By- President Emerson Mnangagwa has announced the death of former Zimbabwe Ambassador to African Union, Dr. Andrew Mtetwa.

Dr served as the Ambassador to Belgium, South Africa and Zambia.

In a statement, Mnangagwa said the Government had extended a state-assisted funeral to Mtetwa, who died on 3 July.

Reads the statement issued by the department of presidential communications in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC):

He added:
“LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE WASTED IN QUARRELS, HURTS, FIGHTS, DIVISIONS AND VIOLATIONS OF EACH OTHER.

War Breaks Out Among Perrance Shiri’s Surviving Kids

The late Perrance Shiri

One of national hero Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri’s children has hauled her siblings to the High Court demanding that they undergo DNA test to ascertain whether they are his biological off-springs before they benefit from his estate.

Tanaka Musvamhiri wants Rufaro Stephanie Shiri and Tawanda Zulu to undergo DNA tests to ascertain whether they were the late hero’s biological children before they benefitted from the estate.

Musvamhiri wants the two to visit National Blood Services of Zimbabwe within seven days.

In summons prepared by Mr Arshiel Mugiya of Mugiya and Muvhami Law Chambers and filed at High Court, Musvamhiri claims that she has since undertaken the DNA test and it was proved that she was the late national hero’s biological child.

She also claims that the late Air Chief Marshal Shiri disowned the two before his death and also left them in his will.

Musvamhiri cited executor of the estate Sobusa Gula Ndebele, Tatenda Shiri, Cynthia Shiri and the Master of the High Court as other defendants.

“The 2nd and 3rd (Rufaro Stephanie Shiri and Tawanda Zulu) defendants are compelled within 7 days from the day that this order is granted to submit themselves at National Blood Services of Zimbabwe in order for blood samples to be extracted from them and undergo DNA tests to verify whether or not they were related to the late Perrance Benjamin Chikerema Shiri,” reads part of the summons.

Musvamhiri, in her founding affidavit claimed that the late Air Marshal Shiri acknowledged in his will that Tatenda Shiri and Cynthia Shiri were his biological children.

“The late Perrence Benjamin Chikerema Shiri died on 29 day of July 2020 and in his will listed 4 and 5 defendants as his biological children and beneficiaries to his estate, the plaintiff (Musvamhiri), 2nd and 3rd defendant were not listed as children born by the deceased in the will.

“The plaintiff underwent DNA test by comparing her blood samples with that of her uncle Whiteford Chikerema, a brother and sibling of the deceased and the results confirmed that indeed she is related to the brother of the deceased, thereby confirming that she is the biological daughter of the deceased.

“The second and third defendants are also claiming to be the biological children of the deceased and have listed their names with the first Defendant (estate executor) and the sixth (Master of High Court) defendant as beneficiaries of the Estate late Perrance Benjamin Chikerema Shiri,” she said.

Musvamhiri said in her affidavit that other relatives were also questioning the Rufaro Stephanie Shiri and Tawanda Zulu statuses.

She said Rufaro and Tawanda were refusing to undergo the DNA tests.

“The authenticity and claims of the 2nd and 3rd defendants are being disputed not only by the Plaintiff but other close relatives of the deceased and the deceased in his lifetime disowned the 2nd and 3rd defendants as his biological children

“The 2nd and 3rd defendants have refused in family meetings to undergo these DNA tests insisting that they are children of the deceased even though such claims are being disputed and are questionable and open to doubt,” she said.

Musvamhiri said Rufaro and Tawanda were already enjoying the fruits of the estate, as they are in occupation of some immovable properties and cars that belonged to the estate.

She said she is willing to under-go another DNA test together with the Rufaro and Tawanda in order to bring finality to the question of who should not benefit from the estate.- State Media

Zanu PF has monopolized and corrupted the liberation war ideology over the past four decades.

“DEFENDING & SAFEGUARDING THE VALUES OF THE LIBERATION STRUGGLE…We will give true meaning to the liberation idea,” President Chamisa wrote on Twitter.

He added:
“LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE WASTED IN QUARRELS, HURTS, FIGHTS, DIVISIONS AND VIOLATIONS OF EACH OTHER.
LOVE beautifies human life.

PEACE illuminates human existence.
FREEDOM unleashes human ingenuity & creativity.
TOLERANCE rewards human diversity.”

Herald Accuses PSMAS Workers’ Committee Leaders | FULL TEXT

Below is a state media printspit accusing the Public Service Association (PSA), Mrs Cecilia Alexandra and the Zimbabwe Confederation of Public Sector Unions (ZCPSTU), Mr David Dzatsunga of being too compromised to lead discussions on Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS).

In the article, the Herald, which never covered the massive looting at the institution that led to its grounding since 1999, bases the accusations on persons it determines are: “insiders.”

The Herald says the leaders are heavily implicated in chaos and maladministration bedevilling the organisation.

State Media: Mrs Alexandra is vice-chairperson of Premier Service Medical Investments, a subsidiary of PSMAS, while Mr Dzatsunga is a committee member on the PSMAS board.

The duo, together with the rest of the other board members stand accused of siphoning money from PSMAS and PSMI respectively through unconventional means and have reportedly colluded with other senior executives to create additional structures beyond the medical aid organisation’s board.

Premier Service Holding Company (PSHC), said the insiders, is an illegally constituted entity as evidenced by its absence from the PSMAS financials in the 2020 and 2021 annual report.

They added that the absence of its financials since its inception in 2019 is a clear indication that this entity was not properly constituted in accordance with the 2015 AGM resolution.

The PSHC is being used to divert members’ funds into other non-core medical activities such as the formation of Claydust — a mining company — and Premier Service Microfinance Company.

According to the deed of trust document, the power to appoint or remove the board of directors will rest with the Holding Company, a scenario which will render other governance structures useless.

“The company shall, in consultation with the Board of Trustees manage the affiliates for an agreed fee between it and the individual affiliates, exercise control of all affiliates including but not limited to, appointing and removing their boards of directors, receive dividend and/ or surplus as the case may be, from all affiliates, render such administrative services as are necessary for the smooth functioning of the Trust,” reads an extract from the deed document.

The deed of trust, as provided in the aborted AGM pack, also clearly spells out that the current board (the Bvirindi board), shall remain in office for a renewable period of three years from the date of registration of Deed of Trust. This obviously is the main reason why this current board is fighting viciously against Government scrutiny.

The Trust comprises of five members who are supposed to have been voted for by members during the cancelled AGM but oddly, no name nor profile of potential candidates were shared even to date.

The holding company will report to a board, appointed by the Board of Trustees. The Holding Company will then appoint board members for the rest of the other entities namely: PSMAS, PSMI, PSMAS (Zambia), Premier Service Microfinance and Claydust.

Members will no longer have power to vote for board members as is the current set up.

Apart from posing governance risks, the introduction of this layer of governance is coming with costs to fund new boards to be appointed by the Holding Company, further straining members’ contributions.

PSMAS board chairman, Dr Bvirindi, PSMI board chairman Colonel Wellington Tutisa and her vice Mrs Alexandra, have further been accused of enjoying benefits way beyond those spelt out in best corporate governance practices.

According to the insiders at PSMI, Mrs Alexandra received a Mercedes Benz E300 (registration number provided).

This vehicle, the insiders elaborated, is being used by his son George Khowa who works in the properties and facilities department. The vehicle is serviced by PSMI, despite the fact that Mr Khowa receives monthly allowances at AA rates to cater for any service expenses he may incur for using his personal vehicle for work-related assignments.

Colonel Tutisa also got a Toyota Fortuner (registration number provided), while at PSMAS, Dr Bvirindi got a Toyota Hilux 2018 Revo Rocco (registration number provided).

The insiders claim that for these and other reasons, the outgoing board will continue defending the establishment of these additional structures.

“This is the reason why they are defending this structure because they know they are set to benefit personally. Their interests have nothing to do with the entire membership but individual greediness. They have been milking the society in board fees and allowances all along and in some instances claiming what is not due to them and they want to continue doing the same without anyone questioning them,” said the insiders.

Defending the board’s position to create other structures beyond PSMAS Board last week, Mrs Alexandra said PSMAS had “grown”.

“Government doesn’t want us to set up a Trust. As you can see, PSMAS has grown. It has properties, it has hospitals, it has a lot of things so it is not just like those other organisations,” said Mrs Alexandra.

Mr Dzatsunga concurred with Alexandra arguing that Government wanted to take over PSMAS, an allegation Government has since dismissed.

Instead, Government has challenged PSMAS to conduct a forensic audit to ascertain utilisation of funds disbursed so far.-Herald

NSSA Boss Suspended Over ZACC Allegations | FULL TEXT

Stakeholders must have followed with concern several allegations of problems at NSSA over the past few months. The challenges are multi-layered and could be attributable to a variety of factors. Different state entities, including Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, have been seized with the issues. The Board has also been conducting its own investigations into the allegations.
A comprehensive investigation has been instituted to get to the bottom of the mat-ters. To support this and ensure that the exercise is conducted in an independent and transparent environment, the board is sending the General Manager on leave until the exercise is complete. The board fully supports all investigations as it believes this will restore confidence in NSSA.
The board has in the interim appointed Dr Charles Shava, Director of Occupational Safety and Health, as Acting General Manager to ensure business continuity whilst the investigation takes place. Stakeholders should therefore expect continuous uninterrupted service. Kindly be advised accordingly.

CCC Denounces Hon Chibaya Arrest

Tinashe Sambiri|Torture and intimidation of perceived Zanu PF opponents will not stop the people’s struggle.

This was said by CCC deputy spokesperson, Gift Ostallos Siziba.

Siziba condemned the arrest of CCC organising secretary Hon Amos Chibaya.

Hon Chibaya was arrested on Monday morning for allegedly ocnvening a meeting in April without seeking police approval.

“We are witnessing a pattern of unrelenting assault on the Citizens movement after the arrest of Hon Sikhala, Hon Sithole and 11 others.

The State is in panic mode and has resorted to its fascist default mode of using fear, torture arrest and killing as weapons against the opposition.

It’s going to get darker before dawn and we will forge ahead until Zimbabwe is free,” said Siziba.

In a statement on Monday, CCC Namibia condemned the arrest of Hon Chibaya.

Citizens Coalition for Change Namibia castigates the arbitrary arrest of the vibrant International Organiser, Hon Amos Chibaya.

04 July 2022

Citizens who subscribe to the able leadership of President Advocate Nelson Chamisa castigate the perpetual torture, intimidation, and gross violations of human freedoms in Zimbabwe. It is quite infuriating to receive the sad and frustrating news about the illegal arrest of the organic Organiser Hon Amos Chibaya today in Gweru.

Our message to Mr. Emmerson is very clear! No amount of arbitrary arrests and long pre-trial detentions shall deter change champions from mobilizing citizens to register to vote in 2023. It is now imperative to change champions to amplify their revolutionary voices against the selective application of the law by the desperate and clueless regime.

The people of Zimbabwe must rise to the occasion demanding the immediate release of Hon Amos Chibaya, Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, Godfrey Sithole, The Nyatsime 13, and The Chimanimani 3 who are enduring incarceration for all of us.

We also hear that Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is not feeling well at Chikurubi Maximum Prison where he is unconstitutionally detained for demanding justice for Moreblessing Ali. Namibia district urges ZANU-PF to release all prisoners of conscience. Hon Amos Chibaya was arrested facing charges of convening an illegal meeting sometime in April, this is an attempt to silence him. Citizens should peacefully pent up their outrage by advocating for the unconditional release of our change champions. Citizens in Namibia wish Hon Sikhala a quick recovery so that he can continue fighting for freedom in the fatherland.

Discharge our innocent ambassadors for socioeconomic transfiguration who are suffering to usher in a New Great Zimbabwe where the rule of law and constitutionalism will be guaranteed. We shall continue to put political and diplomatic pressure on the satanic regime to free our change champions. Amos Chibaya, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, Godfrey Sithole, and all prisoners of conscience are innocent. The regime is panicking that is why they are trying to close the democratic space ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections.

Mashwede Hit By Fake Robbery

2 Mashwede Holdings employees were yesterday convicted of stealing fuel coupons worth nearly US$17 000 and faking an armed robbery to cover up.
Edson Mashamhanda, who was a book-keeper and Ernest Nevanji Madanhire an ICT officer, were convicted of fraud by Harare magistrate Mrs Evelyn Mashavirakure after a full trial.

They are expected back in court today for their submissions in mitigation and sentence.

The State led by Mr Moses Mapanga told the court that the two were first offenders with no records of previous convictions.

Mr Mapanga proved during trial that in March 2020, Mashwede Holdings fuel coupons printer, Laptime Design and Print, printed 40 000 petrol coupons which were collected by Madanhire.

Madanhire then hooked up with Mashamhanda and hatched a plan to dupe their employer. On March 11, 2020 Mashamhanda declared to the accounts department that he had received 17 000 litres worth of petrol coupons from Madanhire.

On March 24, Madanhire sold another 6 000 litres of fuel coupons for US$7 500, which he acknowledged receipt and Mashamhanda deducted US$600 as commission and handed him US$6 900. No funds were remitted to the company, which owned the coupons, and recorded into Mashwede’s books.

April 4, 2020, an armed robber pounced on Mashwede Holdings’ premises where money and fuel coupons and other property was stolen.

Mashamhanda and Madanhire, then decided to report that the coupons they had taken earlier, the 17 000 litres, would be added to those coupons stolen by the robbers, taking the total to 23 000 litres had been stolen.

Mashwede Holdings carried out a stock reconciliation to establish how many coupons had been stolen and revealed that Mashamhanda was in custody of 11 240 litres of fuel coupons.

Out of caution, Mashwede Holdings notified fuel attendants not to accept fuel coupons stolen during the robbery.

On April 8, 2020 a client David Clinton went to Mashwede service station to redeem fuel coupons purchased from Madanhire on March 24, 2020, well before the robbery.

Further investigations at Mashwede Holdings revealed that the two had failed to declare fuel coupons worth 3 000 litres tat were collected from the printers

It was also revealed that they had sold 6 000 litres worth of fuel coupons to David Clinton’s companies with 3 000 litres having not been declared.

On March 23, 2020 Mashamhanda received US$2 050 from Muvengwa Changamire from the sale of fuel coupons from previous debtors.

Mashamhanda only recorded the money in Muvengwa Changamire’s debtors’ book, failed to record it in the company books and converted the proceeds to his own use.

He received US$1 000 cash from Changamire from sale of 1 000 litres of fuel coupons, which money he converted to own use. About 760 litres sold at US$1,15 a litre and redeemed well before the robbery was not recorded and they were valued at US$874.

Further investigations revealed that the company had been defrauded of a total of US$16 850. Herald

Mnangagwa To Return To Zambia After Losing Polls

Tinashe Sambiri|
Outspoken Zimbabwean philanthropist Susan Mutami has said Emmerson Mnangagwa is a sex pervert.

Last week Mutami revealed Mnangagwa’s bedroom secrets.

According to the controversial businesswoman, Mnangagwa is originally from the Republic of Zambia.

“Honai macitizens zvanga zvatomubata ari pa parade anga akutoda kukecha mwana wevaridzi…

@HHichilema
please be prepared to welcome ur citizen

Road Safety Affects Everyone

Khupe Throws Mwonzora Under The Bus Mobilises Support For Chamisa

By-Former Deputy Prime Minister, Thokozani Khupe, said Zimbabweans should resoundingly vote for CCC in the next year’s elections.

Khupe said Nelson Chamisa-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) was the only game in town.

Khupe made the remarks recently while addressing CCC supporters during the by-election victory celebrations for Nkulumane legislator Kucaca Phulu in Bulawayo. Khupe said:

We are also proud of our party, CCC, in that on March 26, it contested polls when it was just two months old but it clobbered a party which had been in existence for five decades.

Out of the 28 parliamentary seats, CCC got 19 and ZANU-PF got only nine. Out of 105 Council seats, CCC won 75 and ZANU-PF got only 22. This shows that CCC is the only game in town.

Khupe challenged voters to vote for CCC in large numbers to ensure that the party forms the next government. She said:

What is also important is that yes, we went to vote on March 26 and voted in our MP, (Kucaca) Phulu, and voted in our councillor (Earnest) Rafamoyo, what remains is that the puzzle is not complete.

Come 2023 we must complete the puzzle. The puzzle is only going to be completed when Chamisa goes to the State House.

For now, if Phulu goes to Parliament to represent you, who will he talk to since his president is not at the State House?

The same applies to Rafamoyo, even if he goes to Council, who will he talk to since his president is not at the State House?

Badala, come 2023 as Nkulumane we must generate more than 25, 000 votes for Chamisa to go to the State House.

FC Wangu Mazodze Triumph As Masvingo United Drop Points

04 July 2022

By TIMOTH MUSWERE

FC Wangu Mazodze win as Una Una drop points

During the weekend our two Masvingo’s biggest soccer clubs played their games at home in our traditional local home of soccer Mucheke stadium. Before the games there was much talks as some doubting Thomases discredited the FC Wangu Mazodze team which however proved otherwise. The prophets of doom many of them jealousy of the flamboyance and we’ll organized nature of the Wangu Mazodze club whose way of operations are beyond some premier League teams. The 3-0 win against Zaka Academy yesterday boosted the team’ s morale and is most likely to roar after a well margined win. Two goals were scored by the all time in form star KODE while Guidance got on target for the other goal. Man of the Mac jersey number 6 killed the Zaka Academy game plan. It is not by lucky but determination ,sacrifice and commitment from 13 th player that is the Mazodze supporters who are very strong enough even if the team goes through bad phases in performance.

Powered by its VP Mrs Mazodze the team enjoys much support from ladies as it is well know in societies that women’s voice have power and won’t lose any battle in any contest or court. It is this recognition and respect of Women in the world’s beautiful game soccer that has earned Wangu Mazodze a marvelous support base.

Meanwhile the Ghetto Seasoned community team Masvingo United avoided a loses as they drew all nil against Chiredzi stars. Masvingo United has previously played well however our fellow Wezhiras has just been unlucky. Also to be noted of are the bonafide Una Una supporters whose love and support for the club is unconditional and has been consistent despite financial constraints. One is knocked upon his heart as you hear the drums played near Father’s Bar at Mucheke Rank as Una Una supporters sing and dance as early as possible on match day. By Saturday midday the ecstatic mood was already all over the Rank with Una Una singing drumming and dancing for their team. It’s now an interesting moment for Masvingo Soccer lovers whose community now has two competitive teams. Let’s keep up the spirit anaWezhira rovai bhora and let’s shun violence and hate speech we are one family

CCC Invades Bikita West

04 July 2022

…So long a narration…..

By Timoth Muswere

Amazing “Fare thee Will ” for Gogo Gutuza as CCC Invades Bikita West

There was a consoling ,yet memorable event in Bikita west on Sunday 03 July 2022. It was a Memorial service and tobstone unveiling for champion Gogo Gutuza who is also mother to Change Champion Gutuza. Even on her funeral the atmospheric nature has always been in a Change memorable manner.

Gogo Gutuza at her age had a passion for a better Great New Zimbabwe for the younger generation to prosper. This sense of humour is what lacks in the Zanu of counter parts where the elderly are biased to be the sole leaders of this country yet the young generation in the mould of President Chamisa have a girraffe binocularly vision which will sustain the future generation.

Several respected Change Champions were in attendance with a notable fleet of cars which drove drove several places and mainly Masvingo Urban to Remember and respect the life of a heroine.

The Zion Apostolic Church was a marvel to watch as they took the over thousand crowd by storm. The Gaza and Mukondo dancing routines were electric and energetic. The drum and hoshos left everyone in putting his dancing shoes and and swallowed his voice into song and dance.

Also present was our respected local media house Masvingo Mirror who were kept busy all day with ecstatic scenes and moments around the place.

During the way to Masvingo some few Zanu pf activists nearly got their violent demon manifesting as the Masvingo team stoped over for recess at Nyika growth point living out the place in Change mood. Indeed Gogo Gutuza will forever be remembered for her works.
