By London Correspondent | A UK Zimbabwean employment agency is at the centre of a storm over a s** for shift work” scandal that has seen thousands of women speaking over it.
The Stevenage based company was last night blown under the whistle over reports that most of its workers are being forced into exchanging their bodies for shift allocations which are not easy to get.
The development had the company owner’s husband fingered for demanding intimacy from newcomers. The unnamed husband was in another incident caught in the act bedding one of the careworkers who is also his wife’s relative and arrived in UK a few weeks ago.
He was pleasuring himself inside the company office.
The man quickly apologised to the female employee who found him in the very act, a source narrates.
“Akabatwa achitoseva muramu wake,” a source said, in audios availed to ZimEye.
It is said the workers are afraid to report the man, and an advisory was published last night to help guide complainants whenever they are forced to compromise their bodies.
DO YOU KNOW WHO THIS CRIMINAL IS? CONTACT ZIMEYE NOW.
The advisory reads:

Tendai Mukanganise: “Good day Sekuru, you said you will put my pic into the pot, with the tree, but the issue is of this person who says he likes me, but he hasn’t proposed. So how will this work out in the future?
Sekuru Tembo: When I mean I have put the man into the sack, I mean that I will have pleaded and chanted out using his totem (African surname), so that he starts only thinking about you.

By A Correspondent | The people of Kuwadzana, Harare are some of the worst brutalised by soldiers in August 2018 when Emmerson Mnangagwa deployed the army to kill many while changing election results, and on the 4th August local clinics told ZimEye.com of how military trucks would arrive at night and officers begin assaulting residents. Being reminded of these atrocities could not be any more hurting.
Winky D’s choice of an album release within 24hrs of the anniversary of ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 3rd January threats, has been praised for allegedly resurrecting the spirit of the slain King Kaguvi on the same day . Mnangagwa said he will re-deploy the army to assault the people of Kuwadzana upon discovering they have bad wishes of the nation’s rainfall (loosely translated to mean anyone stopping the rain).
Addressing Kuwadzana residents on 3rdJanuary 2020, Mnangagwa said, “Asi deno taiziva kuti vanhu vekuKuwadzana vasingade kuti mvura inaye taingoti army kombai tirove.” – once we discover that it is the people of Kuwadzana who are stopping the rain, we will (or will) deploy the army to surround them to assault them.” Directly translated VIDEO LOADING BELOW….

By Showbiz Reporter | Controversial preacher Passion Java was publicly slapped last night when singer Holy Ten disowned him.
Speaking to StarFM’s DJ Olla, Holy Ten said he does not engage in any conversations with Panganai Java.
What is your response to this song of Passion Java?, he was asked, before responding saying Java later went on air to clear the air saying the song was just general musicology.
“So I can’t respond to it since he said it’s music,” said Ten.
So, are you in good books now with Java?, he was asked, afterwhich he replied saying, he is not in a any books bad or good with Java. He would later conclude saying, “I don’t talk to Passion Java.”

By Rufaro Kaseke | Winky D hoisted his musical prowess to dizzy heights, this time with meaningful collaborations with some of the country’s best musicians.
One combo that has struck a code for me is the one with the power packed bassist, top drawer performer and songbird, Shingai Soko Shonhiwa on the track Dzimbabwe.
Why it struck a code is because it resonates with what I and many others are always questioning. “Is this the Zimbabwe that all those who sacrificed for our country died for? Are they resting easy with the suffering of Zimbabweans?” Judging from the situation in our country the answer is a resounding and definite negative.
Once again ChiExtraterrestrial, The Gaffa has taken a stride beyond just “kujamba maspeaker” with a rhythmic wake up call for those in the business of greediness and selfishness to reflect on the legacy of the meaning of the struggle for a better Zimbabwe.
The video is not just a Picasso on the eye. It’s a poignant transgenerational picture of what could have have been, what should be and what is. One cannot help but reflect on what our country could have been and what it should be.
This track is a wail and a longing for what all of us desire. A society where everyone is given a chance to flourish.

“Zimbabwe. Some time ago, the Lord said to me that I should speak to Chamisa to go and be silent and that it is not yet time for him to come as president…I said that Mnangagwa is the one that God is taking in order to show Zimbabwe the way.
“But this time around, the Lord said to me that Honourable Chamisa’s time has come. So I see this man as the next president, but it will be very hard. It will be a battle from court to court. Many lives will be lost.

(52yrs later) Zimbabwe in 2022 and Rhodesia in 1969. On the left is a bus dangerously-dangling its passengers on 4th Jan 2022 (2 yrs after govt acquired 700 Zupco buses from Belarus in exchange for Mutare-large ancestral land; on the right is a Rhodesia Railway replacement bus, on its Mutare route, and its passengers safely tucked inside for their journey, on a colour picture that theatrically raises the late Prime Minister Ian Smith back to life, in memory. Rhodesia never sold any ancestral land to foreign govts. HALF A CENTURY LATER, THERE ARE NO MORE PASSENGER SAFETY RULES BEING FOLLOWED. Where will Zimbabwe be 50 years from today? Is the nation improving? Is the nation’s dead last colonial Prime Minister Ian Smith smiling in his grave?

Enigmatic preacher Passion Java has threatened to hack Winky D’s YouTube account following a ‘diss’ song.
Java took to his official Facebook page on New Year’s day and declared that he had seen Winky D’s YouTube account disappearing in a spiritual vision.

“Hanzi diss song chi.. chi… ndawona mumweya YouTube account yese yangoshaikwa pa internet.!

While it is not clear which song Passion Java is referring to as the diss song, fans have speculated that the outspoken cleric is referring to Shaker, featuring fellow Zimdancehall crooner Enzo Ishall.
In the song off his latest album Eureka Eureka, Winky D and Enzo Ishall speak of a rich person known as Mbinga in Zimbabwean street lingo who has lost it all.
After announcing his intention to hack Winky D’s YouTube account, Facebook users took to the comments section to warn Passion Java of the consequences such an act carries.

By- Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje has denied bail for the two hooligans facing attempted murder.
Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda Wednesday returned to remand prison after their bail hearing was postponed.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Cephas Mutswebi, opposed bail, saying they are yet to obtain video footage of the pair causing commotion and attempting to stab what appears to be a Pabloz Nightclub bouncer.
He also submitted that he is yet to record witness statements from several people, hence if they are released, they would interfere with investigations.
Blessing Kumunda
He submitted that the two know the complainants and if they are released on bail, they can interfere with investigations by intimidating witnesses.
However, the bouncers’ lawyer argued that the investigating officer had half-baked information and was not aware how the fight started.
He claimed that Sanyangore was being attacked by the complainants and that was when Kumunda pushed them in a bid to rescue Sanyangore.
George Manokore appeared for the State.
By A Correspondent| Sakunda Holdings has warned the public against falling prey to conmen reportedly impersonating business tycoon Kudakwashe Tagwirei to defraud people by falsely offering free tractors and cars while asking them to send cash to buy fuel towards transportation of the donated goods.
In a statement dated January 4, Sakunda Chief Operating Officer, Mberikwazvo Chitambo said the conmen allegedly call members of the public using foreign WhatsApp numbers with Tagwirei’s profile picture.
“Please be warned against conmen calling members of the public, from several foreign WhatsApp numbers including +27 81 009 3248, while purporting to be Mr Kudakwashe Tagwirei. The conmen, using images of Mr Tagwirei on their WhatsApp profile pictures, are offering tractors and cars, while requesting targeted victims to send diesel to transport the “donated” vehicles. In some cases, they ask for cash to enable delivery of donated goods,” said Chitambo.
He urged members of the public to safeguard themselves and not become victims of these conmen and scammers.
“These acts are clearly meant to scam gullible individuals and tarnish the reputation of Mr Tagwirei and Sakunda Holdings. Please ignore or report these malicious acts to the authorities and safeguard yourselves from becoming victims of fraud,” added Chitambo.
Sakunda said Tagwirei communicates official business programs through designated representatives using the company’s official platforms and accredited media.
“Be advised that Mr Tagwirei communicates official business through designated representatives from Sakunda Holdings. Any programmes meant to benefit the public are publicised on the organisation’s official platforms and in accredited media,” said Chitambo.

The United Kingdom prime minister is looking at plans to ensure all pupils in England study maths in some form until the age of 18.
In his first speech of 2023, Rishi Sunak will also set out the priorities for his premiership, including tackling backlogs in the health service.
The government is facing a wave of strikes, a cost-of-living crisis and huge pressures on the NHS.
Mr Sunak will be keen to use his speech to prove competence and set out ideas after last year’s political turmoil.
During his speech, Mr Sunak is expected to expand on his vision for the UK, and revisit comments made in December about giving people “peace of mind”.
The Daily Mail reports that Mr Sunak will take “personal charge of tackling the NHS crisis”.
Problems getting an ambulance, waiting times for planned operations and social care in England are all likely to be referred to in his speech later, as critics demand immediate answers to what is widely seen as a crisis in the NHS this winter.
Those around Mr Sunak say his instinct is that to have more than a few priorities at any one time is to have no priorities at all, and the situation in the NHS is uppermost in his mind, according to BBC political editor Chris Mason.
On Tuesday, No 10 said the government was “confident” it was “providing the NHS with the funding it needs”.
But opposition parties have accused the prime minister of being “missing in action”, as senior doctors warn some accident and emergency units are in a “complete state of crisis”.
With the Conservatives trailing in the polls, Mr Sunak will also be keen to set out the aims of his premiership beyond crisis management.

By James Gwati- Authorities in Harare have arrested CCC senior member and former Harare mayor Herbert Gomba.
According to the CCC spokesperson, Fadzayi Maherethe Harare Ward 27 Councillor (CCC) was arrested this morning at a residents meeting.
Gomba was scheduled to unveil new community boreholes and hear residents’ concerns and feedback.
Mahere tweeted:
Ward 27 CCC Councillor Herbert Gomba has been arrested by Southerton Police at a residents’ meeting where he was scheduled to unveil new community boreholes as well as hear the concerns and feedback of residents. Our lawyers have been despatched to attend to him.
Gomba was arrested in March last year on allegations of perjury and transmitting a declaration form that had false information.
By A Correspondent- Unions representing teachers have demanded the scrapping of the Government Employees Mutual Savings Fund (GEMS), arguing it is not benefiting their members.
GEMS was set up by Cabinet in March 2020 with the government saying it would provide $100 million in seed capital to improve the welfare of civil servants.
Under GEMS, civil servants are subjected to 2.5% monthly wage deductions to support the loan scheme.
But Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) president Obert Masaraure said the government is still making the deductions from teachers who opted out of GEMS. Masaraure said:
The scheme was unilaterally imposed on workers. Teachers opted out but were surprised to realise that deductions continued and are still being done.
Those who have sought loans from GEMS have been denied because they are said to be earning too little to qualify. So they qualify to contribute but don’t qualify to access the loans.
We are aware that fat cats in the civil service are benefitting from the contributions of the underpaid junior civil servants.
We have clear instructions from teachers to call for the scrapping of the fraud called GEMS.
Educators Unions of Zimbabwe (EUZ) secretary-general Tapedza Zhou said:
It’s a deduction that does not help workers and no one has benefitted from the so-called loan fund. It is, therefore, a liability to employees.
Zimbabwe Teachers Association (ZIMTA) general secretary Goodwill Taderera said:
We have always said nothing for us, without and we think there has to be a way of getting back to the drawing board, because the board currently running that scheme does not include civil servants. As civil servants, we must be involved.
This level of abuse at the hands of an arrogant employer is unparalleled and should never be seen again.
Once the scheme has been dissolved, we demand both an audit and an apology for the abuse of workers’ funds.
Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) president Takavafira Zhou said:
We will do everything in our power to make sure that teachers will not suffer this prejudice in 2023.
The government said that GEMS is a scheme that seeks to create wealth during and after the termination of civil servants’ employment. | NewsDay

ailed CCC vice chairman Job Sikhala on Tuesday filed an application to have his trial broadcast live when he appeared before Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa.
Sikhala’s lawyer, Jeremiah Bamu, submitted that having his client’s trial broadcast live is meant to vindicate the interests of the public.
Said Bamu:
This way, the trial will be done in a fair manner and it will be a public trial and our reasons for this application are that it is meant to vindicate the interests of the public.
There is no other court or person that can come and tell you to allow or reject this decision because you are the one who is overseeing this trial proceeding and you also have an obligation to protect and give effect to members of the public who are entitled to freedom of information and who also have a right to have public access to what will take place in court and in the trial.
This request will also allow members of the family to be detailed about the ongoing proceedings in this case as this comes as a request from the accused’s children who are overseas and are not able to attend the trial.
There is no prejudice at all as this application will not cause any interference and will not be any expense to anyone and will not interfere with prosecutorial order.
We will also like to add to the requests and submit that the media be allowed to use their gadgets during the trial so as to even do their very own live feed.
Magistrate Gofa was on Wednesday expected to make a ruling on the application.
Sikhala has been in prison since his arrest on 14 June 2022 on a charge of incitement to public violence. | NewsDay

By A Correspondent- The Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet George Charamba said that musician Holy Ten, whose real name is Mukudzei Chitsama, has been forgiven after he apologised for allegedly criticising the government.
This comes after Holy Ten said he was regretting working with Winky D in Ibotso, a song which is on Winky’s latest album titled Eureka.
The musician claimed the song had been sensationalised by commentators, mainly journalists. In a Twitter post, Holy Ten said:
Activists, journalists, lawyers – Split opinions will not do any good for a brand that’s trying to serve & save everyone so help me by not acting like I’ve picked a side. Do not politicize a project that I’ve considered a mere honor to be a part of. I regret it now honestly
Also posting on the microblogging site, Charamba said Chitsama had been wholly forgiven but warned him never to criticize the government, saying “the feeding trough is important”. Wrote Charamba:
You are wholly forgiven Holy Ten. Next time usatize chikoro mfana Gumi. Chihiro chakakosha. Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.
The song, Ibotso, has been viewed by some as depicting Zimbabwe as a long-decayed society in which the residents naively hope things will miraculously change for the better.
Brezhnev Malaba, a prominent journalist, in his analysis of the song, said Zimbabwe is a crime scene. He said:
Corruption-induced poverty has unleashed devastating poverty on ghetto youths. Hunger has ensnared naive girls into a life of debauchery. There are artistes who conveniently choose to ignore these stark realities.
Winky D has set himself apart.
In Ibotso, he lays bare the ugly underbelly of a long-decayed society that foolishly hides beneath a threadbare cloak of self-denial, in the forlorn hope of swiftly waking up from a prolonged nightmare. Where delusion meets deceit, victims abound.
The Gafa chants: “Vanotora zvevapfupi nekureba”. What comes next is epic. Holy 10, his eager apprentice, then intones: “Sekutamba sekuseka”. From that point on, the flow is infectious, irresistible, and delectable.
New year reflections Part 1
By Linda Tsungirirai Masarira
3 January 2023
Allow me to congratulate everyone who made it to 2023. Happy new year fellow Zimbabweans, against all the odds we still soldier on, smile and continue hustling.
2022 was a bad and very difficult year for ordinary Zimbabweans. Currency volatility affected livelihoods of millions of families.
Child marriages were on the increase and politically Zimbabweans are more divided than ever.
It won’t be fair not to mention and compliment the great love and care exhibited by Zimbabwean women to their families throughout out 2022.
It is also important to recognise the selflessness and sacrifices by women who have devoted their entire lives to caring for the disadvantaged, vulnerable and downtrodden in our communities, these are the real heroines of our society who need to be honoured.
As we reflect on the year ahead of us, our war should be against corruption and poverty. Zimbabwe is a resilient nation considering the economic warfare that we have been subjected to for nearly 3 decades now.
We have the ability and capacity to stop this systematic economic warfare against Zimbabwe. Our biggest inhibiting factor is lack of political will, greediness, selfishness and corruption.
The difference between the poor and rich nation does not only depend on the available natural resources.
Switzerland does not grow cocoa but produces the best chocolates in the world. In her small territory she rears animals and cultivates the land only for four months in a year, nevertheless manufactures the best milk products.
A small country which is an image of security which has made it the strongest world bank.
Executives from rich countries who interact with their counterparts from poor countries show no significant intellectual differences.
The racial or colour factors also do not evince importance: migrants heavy in laziness in their country of origin are forcefully productive in rich European countries.
What then is the difference?
The difference is the attitude of the people, moulded for many years by education and culture.
When we analyse the conduct of the people from the rich and developed countries, it is observed that a majority abide by the following principles of life:
In poor countries a small minority follow these basic principles in their daily life.
We are not poor because we lack natural resources or because nature was cruel towards us.
We are poor because we lack attitude. We lack the will to follow and teach these principles of working in rich and developed societies.
WE ARE IN THIS STATE BECAUSE
WE WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OVER EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE.
WE ARE IN THIS STATE BECAUSE
WE SEE SOMETHING DONE WRONG AND SAY – “LET IT BE”
WE SHOULD HAVE A SPIRITED MEMORY
AND ATTITUDE…
ONLY THEN WILL WE BE ABLE TO CHANGE OUR PRESENT STATE.
Change starts with you.
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the change that we seek. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
I have no doubt that we, Zimbabweans, are the difference between what it is and what it could be.
We are the missing link in the struggle for positive change in our country. Zimbabwe’s political and economic quagmire requires our participation.
We know in painful detail and through painful experience that freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor, it must be demanded by the oppressed.
We have to play our part as Zimbabweans. Zanupf will never reform themselves our of power. We have the generational mandate to reform them out of power.
Only a united people with one common shared vision can reinvent the political and governance system in Zimbabwe. We are the missing link.
You are the change you have been waiting for. What are you waiting for? Be part of the change you want to see. Together we can.
We will only progress as a nation when political leaders stop being used by the east and west, when they stop pushing their own selfish agendas for self aggrandizement and when they put Zimbabweans first before trading our natural resources at a pittance.
There is no one who is more Zimbabwean than the other. If we, “the have nots” are not yet ready to call all corrupt and unethical government officials, political, religious and church leaders to order and account there will be no resuscitation of the economy.
Our war as the suffering masses in Zimbabwe is against poverty and corruption. United in our diversity we can dismantle corruption in our government, institutions, civic society, churches, schools, councils, politiical parties, burial societies, etc.
Men in power don’t want things to change because they are benefiting from the chaos. Zvivhunze ugere ipapo kuti other than parroting slogans what have you benefited in the last ten years? Ramba kuitiswa and start calling every corrupt person you know to account. Only the truth will set Zimbabwe free.
As for me and the LEAD family, we are going to pull the bull by its horns until we restore order and ensure socioeconomic rights to every Zimbabwean. There is no one who is more Zimbabwean than the other.
Government should ensure decent pension payouts. Social security for our senior citizens should be prioritized and their dignity in society should be restored by ensuring decent pension funds for all pensioners and war veterans.
It is only proper to increase monthly pension dues or maintaining that same value but in US$, since some pension houses which have been invested by this pensioners are enjoying the proceeds of these old age.
With all the investment that have been made by these pension funds in Zimbabwe using the proceeds from their labor, it is not fair that most pensioners are now surviving like paupers.
You have the right to hold leaders to account. President Mnangagwa’s government should ensure that safe, clean and portable water is accessible to every Zimbabwean. Water is a fundamental human right. Let us all demand accountability from all public officials until the water issue is rectified. Water is life. Our rights to health, life and water must be protected. We want clean and safe water now and not tomorrow. #FixOurWater #WaterIsMyRight
Zimbabwe belongs to all of us not, Zimbabwe does not belong to Mnangagwa, Chamisa, Mwonzora, Masarira or any other political party leader. Zimbabwe belongs to every Zimbabwean. It is time we take ownership of our community.
Dear Zimbabweans, it is very important for all of us to take ownership of our community and to develop community pride. All of us belong to a community, whether local or national. This community could be my school or university, it could be my neighborhood or village or it could be my professional community.
It is likely that we are part of several communities. Communities are made up of individuals who choose to identify themselves with that community. For that community to succeed and prosper, it requires the members to take ownership and contribute to the betterment of that particular community.
The same goes for a country. For a country to succeed and improve, it’s citizens must take ownership and responsibility for its affairs and participate actively in its development using their skills, abilities and expertise.
Only when we begin to take ownership of our country, will we begin to see the country that we all want.
As a S. T. A. R. Fellow, committed to servant leadership, I am humbly requesting every Zimbabwean to start being responsible and cultivating a nature of ownership.
We need to change ourselves and not the country. Once we change ourselves the country will automatically change.
If we want our children to live in a clean, safe and prosperous environment then pledge to follow these pointers every day.
No one person or leader can change the country alone. Change starts with you and me. We can change our beloved nation’s status by changing ourselves first and our mindsets.
In conclusion stop asking what Zimbabwe can do for you and start acting on what you can do for Zimbabwe.
Be inspired to influence change.

By A Correspondent- Three cousins from Jotsholo in Lupane allegedly took turns to assault a policeman at a beer drink on Christmas Day causing his death a day later.
Lizwe Tshuma (18), Nowell Tshuma (20) and Forget Tshuma (20), all of Sikhali 1 village under Chief Mabhikwa, allegedly caused the death of Mandleni Ncube (31) of the same village.
The trio was not asked to plead to murder when they appeared before Lupane resident magistrate Mr Ndumo Masuku.
The magistrate remanded them in custody to 12 January and advised them to apply to the High Court for bail.
Prosecuting, Ms Zandile Lauren Ndebele said the murder took place at Jabhiwa business centre in Jotsholo on Christmas Day.
“On the 25th of December at around 11:30pm the deceased was standing at the veranda of Saphiwa Kuhle store wearing a police uniform. He was greeted by the informant Sicelo Moyo who was heading to where some people were drinking.
Moments later the informant heard noise coming from the direction where the deceased was where he was having an argument with one Makhosi Mpala which prompted him to go outside the bar and check,” said the prosecutor.
The court was told that while the deceased was arguing with Mpala, Lizwe approached from the back holding a knobkerrie and struck him once on the head and ran away.
The deceased fell down on his face and became unconscious.
While he was lying on the ground, Nowell allegedly came with a log and hit him once on the back of the thighs and ran away.
As if to finish him off, Forget also came and struck him with an empty bottle of beer on the head and fled, the court heard.
The informant tried to render first aid by pouring water on an unconscious Ncube who was bleeding from the mouth and nose but to no avail.
The deceased was rushed to Tshongogwe Hospital where he was transferred to St Luke’s Hospital but he died on admission.
A report was made to the police leading to the arrest of the trio.

Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has opened a police case against ZANU PF official Terence Mukupe for alleged violence.
Mliswa tweeted on the 30th of December regarding his fallout with ZANU PF official Terence Mukupe whom he claims, “can’t compete at the level of ideas many of his type degenerate into their default settings of violence.”
In his tweet Mliswa stated that, “ZANU PF doesn’t need such people (Mukupe) they are a weight and drawback to the President as they tarnish the party’s name with their behaviour.”
He went on to question Mukupe’s role in the party. “What role does a militia play in a democratic space? Whose agenda does it advance, certainly not the President’s or the Party’s!”
Mliswa went on to provide conflicted WhatsApp messages of him and Mukupe as evidence of his accusation.
“I have opened a police case against Terence Mukupe, a @ZANUPF_Official thug who thinks politics is about violence and crime. When they can’t compete at the level of ideas many of his type degenerate into their default settings of violence,” said Mliswa.
By- The said they are receiving more people reporting that they were assaulted by the two jailed Harare bouncers facing attempted murder charges.
The police also said they had slapped the two hooligans with fresh assault and public violence charges.
According to the state media, numerous victims have come forward to file complaints against the hooligans, Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda, who are currently in custody pending bail hearing.
Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed this in an interview with the Herald.
“We can confirm that Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda are now facing fresh charges of assault. There are some complainants who filed papers to the effect that they were assaulted by these bouncers,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
According to police, the latest document, which contains details of fresh charges, is being handled by Highfield Police Station.
Police have called on all citizens who might have complaints against the bouncers to come forward and report.
“We are appealing to citizens who might have been assaulted by Sanyangore and Kumunda to come forward so that the law can take its course. In the alleged in the video which circulated we saw a man being splashed with something like water or alcohol, we say come and report, this is the best time.”
The duo was arrested following a public outcry after they were seen in a short clip video which went viral assaulting other patrons and threatening to stab Wilson Kaminyu and Munyaradzi Runganga who are private security guards at Pabloz Night Club in Harare on December 26, last year.
By-A pro-Zanu PF grouping, the Economic Empowerment Group (EEG) has threatened Hip-hop artiste, Holy Ten for associating with Winky D.
Holy Ten Tuesday issued a statement regretting his association with Winky D in the making of hit song Ibotso.
The song touched raw political nerves after being interpreted by some as speaking about the social ills prevalent in Zimbabwe.
It attributes the hardships faced by the common man in the southern African nation to corruption by political elites “who steal from the powerless masses” (vanodya zvavapfupi nekureba).
Addressing a hastily arranged press conference Tuesday, the Mike Chimombe founded group claimed Winky D’s content “sows seeds of discontent and destruction.”
“He is leading the youth down the garden path,” said EEG Secretary-General Clifford Hlupeko.
“He should be clear if he has traded his musical jacket for politics. If he is now into politics we need to know.”
Linda Masarira who leads the opposition Labour, Economists and African Democrats party (LEAD), immediately came to the defense of Winky D and Holy Ten.
“I am a big fan of @winkydonline & @holytenmusic,” she tweeted.
“I will not allow them to be bullied by anyone for expressing themselves through music. Freedom of expression is a constitutional right enshrined in section 61 of the constitution of Zimbabwe. I have an ask, pane pavakanyepa here? (did they lie?)”
Independent Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa concurred.
He added: “statements by empowerment group @EEG calling for the banning of @winkydonline are unfortunate and with all due respect, nonsense. We are not a Fascist republic where artists have to be fed what things to sing about. Have we sunk that low? #IStandWithWinkyD #EurekaEureka.”
Opposition CCC spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere called on Arts minister Kirsty Coventry to intervene in defense of artists.
“An artist’s social commentary on the state of our society and the lives of citizens is not” hate. The attack on art is regrettable indeed. We need new leaders.”
In the heat of conflicting opinions on Tuesday morning, Holy Ten, born Mukudzei Chitsama, appeared to distance himself from the song.
He said commentators, journalists, and activists had fueled political undertones which he had not intended.
“Activists, journalists, lawyers – Split opinions will not do any good for a brand that’s trying to serve & save everyone so help me by not acting like I’ve picked a side. Do not politicize a project that I’ve considered a mere honor to be a part of. I regret it now honestly,” Holy Ten tweeted.
Zanu PF director for Information and Publicity Tafadzwa Mugwadi immediately lurched onto the opportunity, and made wild claims, alleging Holy Ten’s statement was proof Winky D had been paid to push the regime change agenda.

Individuals on the list are drawn from various sectors including business, education, entertainment, governance and human rights. It is designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of people that are positively impacting the African continent and the rest of the world. Integrity, visibility and impact, are considered for selection. In an interview yesterday, Prof Ncube said he was happy to be on the list of 100 most reputable Africans. “It is an honour to be included in the top 100 Reputable Persons in Africa for 2023,” said Prof Ncube. This is an affirmation of the economic policies and the development direction that the country has pursued over the last 4,5 years since I became Minister of Finance and Economic Development. “The objectives and targets of the National Development Strategy 1, which are guiding the country’s trajectory, will surely deliver an upper middle-income, as envisioned in Vision 2030.” The Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa has embarked on a massive economic development trajectory aimed at improving the lives of people.
Ongoing infrastructure development works targeting construction of clinics, hospitals, schools, roads and bridges, shopping malls and border posts, have completely transformed the country in the last few years. From being a laughing stock in the SADC region in 2017 to becoming a trendsetter, especially following the construction of the Beitbridge Border Post, which many Southern African region citizens are admiring. Construction of the Harare-Beitbridge highway, which had remained a pipe dream for a long time, is underway and 400km of the 571km have been completed and opened to traffic. The remaining 171km, which include bridges, are set to be completed in the first quarter of this year, in a clear demonstration of the efficiency of President Mnangagwa’s administration. Modernisation of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport is also underway as the Government moves to establish the country as a gateway to the continent and the world, benefiting from the rebound in tourism, as Covid-19 lockdown measures ease across the globe. Completion of the project will increase passengers and cargo handling capacity at the RGM International Airport, ensuring it becomes one of the regional aviation hubs, attracting more airlines and facilitating tourist arrivals. Prof Ncube allocated $3,1 billion under the 2023 National Budget for the procurement and installation of air traffic control, surveillance, aircraft communication and weather equipment in order to improve air safety and security.
Mabvuku Councillor, Scott Sakupwanya is still to respond to allegations that he and ZANU PF businessman Mike Chimombe paid the Zengeza youth, Kudakwashe Chinguwo to criticise dancehall singer Winky D.

One, Bruce Moyo writes saying: This boy addressing is renting in Chitungwiza Zengeza 3(One Room). His name is Kudakwashe Chinguwo. He was paid 550USD to do this presser by Scot and Mike Chimombe. He is looking for rent money. He is one of the suffering youths mentioned in Winky D’s album.
TOUTS in Harare have become a menace, harassing commuters at bus ranks, forcing the police to launch an operation to stop their activities.
NewsDay Weekender yesterday witnessed a family being harassed by touts at the Mbare Musika bus terminus.
“They are forcing us to get onto a bus that was not going to our destination. We refused, but they didn’t listen and ganged up on me and my wife. They tried to snatch the bag that I was carrying. Luckily, they were stopped by other people that witnessed the melee,” Tinashe Makina told NewsDay Weekender.
Last Matara, a commuter, said: “We are appealing to touts not to force us onto buses against our will. We already know where we are going, there is no need to physically abuse us.”
Passengers Association of Zimbabwe acting national spokesperson Andrew Chibanda said harassment of passengers by touts was of concern during the festive season.
“It has been happening for quite some time at most ranks. Passengers are harassed and forced to board buses they don’t want by touts. These touts even go to the extent of stealing. Such conduct is criminal and unconstitutional. We call upon law enforcement agents to act,” he said.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the law enforcement agents had launched an operation targeting touts.- NewsDay

Tinashe Sambiri|The Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa faces protests at CCC deputy chairperson Hon Job Sikhala’s prolonged detention.
Hon Sikhala spent the festive season in prison after being arrested in June for denouncing the brutal murder of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali.
CCC Namibia has called for the immediate release of Hon Sikhala.
See statement below:
No Happy New Year Without Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala
CCC Namibia fumes!
02 January 2023
Citizens Coalition for Change(CCC) Namibia demands more action from the opposition parties, civil society organizations, human rights defenders, the church, students, and all progressive citizens advocating for the freedom to be administered without fear or favor. It is quite infuriating to continue glimpsing the weaponization of the law by the clueless Harare regime which has failed dismally to put the economy back on the rail.
The residents of Zimbabwe and the globe must amplify their voices by democratically pressuring the autocratic regime to respect the constitution and rule of law. Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala has now endured 201 days in the hell-hole of Chikurubi Maximum Prison. He was denied bail on 12 occurrences, which is clear selective application of the law. The truth of the matter is that ZANU-PF controls the judiciary, they interfere with the judiciary processes compelling the judges to be biased against all voices of dissent. Bail is a constitutional liberty enshrined in the supreme law of the motherland.
Citizens Coalition for Change Rundu Branch Interim Chairperson Simbarashe Ndoda expressed his disgruntlement in the way Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala’s case is being politicised. “The people of Zimbabwe at home and abroad should do more action to ensure that our vibrant and energetic interim Vice Chairperson is released from jail”, Ndoda said. He went on to advise the prison officers to stop abusing Wiwa’s right to health since there are various reports that the prisoner of conscience is being denied access to medical services.
Constitutionalism provides the right to demonstrate against gross incompetence and lack of capacity to better the people’s livelihoods. Citizens should wake up and smell the coffee. We should exercise our constitutional rights to petition and demonstrate our displeasure with the way the democratic space is being shrunken by desperate dictators. Namibia district demands more than we have done before. Let’s show Mr. Mnangagwa our capacity to confront to achieve freedom, equality, and justice through democratic means.
We are cognizant of the fact that ZANU-PF intends to break Wiwa’s revolutionary commitment and dedication to fight for democracy in Zimbabwe. He is in jail since 14 June 2022 just because he was Moreblessing Ali’s family lawyer who made noise until the deceased body was found in a disused well owned by the Chisango family who are bonafide ZANUPF members and activists. Job Sikhala is suffering from suspected colon cancer, we demand his freedom. Criticizing alleged state-sponsored abductions is neither obstruction of justice nor incitement to public violence. It is a just call for the respect of the fundamental basic human right to the sanctity of life.
ZANU-PF perpetrators such as the Nyatsime councillor whose video went viral banning CCC members at Mob’s funeral. He was on record inciting public violence which resulted in the abduction and torture of 20 women at Moreblessing Ali’s homestead. The councillor openly declared the Nyatsime area a ‘No Go Area’ for Citizens Coalition for Change. He is walking scot-free when our leader is languishing in jail for defending the vulnerable. Abton Mashayanyika, Owen Mudha Ncube etc were threatening violence worse than that of 2008 which left thousands dead and maimed.
Abton Mashayanyika said Chamisa and his supporters must be killed, but no arrest has been effected by the partisan police force which takes instructions from the shake-shake building resulting in the selective administration of the law. We saw Hon Jasmine Tofa with broken arms, a victim of state-sponsored violence in Matobo. Known perpetrators are still roaming the streets threatening more violence to the opposition, this must be resisted with equal measure. We demand an end to this lawfare. Citizens must be equal before the law. Only CCC activists are jailed for inciting violence when the real authors of violence are walking free, we need to peacefully defy this!
Moreblessing Ali is yet to be buried since June because her family lawyer is still incarcerated on trumped-up charges.
The extinct was gruesomely butchered for exercising her freedom of assembly and association with the people’s favorite political behemoth, the Citizens Coalition for Change led by the eloquent change champion in-chief President Advocate Nelson Chamisa.
We demand justice for Moreblessing Ali, the family continues to be tormented by the state which tried in vain to bury Moreblessing Ali’s remains without the consent of the immediate family. This is quite pathetic and beyond Satanism! We need new leaders in Zimbabwe for a better lifestyle.
If we don’t take peaceful action against this attempt to silence voices that speak audibly against the abuse of human freedoms, it will be a mammoth task to defend our vote in the impending watershed elections sometime in July or August this year. It needs courage, nerve, and mettle to defeat totalitarianism hence the dire need to embrace dangerous freedom against the perpetual incarceration of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala. Our Interim Vice Chairperson needs our physical, moral, and financial support for him to be released from jail.
There are a lot of peaceful avenues for putting political and diplomatic pressure on the satanic Harare cabal. It is now imperative to draw this matter to regional, continental, and international bodies that deal with human rights and fundamental freedoms. SADC should stop sympathizing with the so-called revolutionary parties to the detriment of the citizenry. African Union, must remind Mr. Mnangagwa that Zimbabwe is a signatory of the African Charter. We need peaceful action that will expose our neighbours who are trying to hoodwink the unsuspecting world.
SADC should denounce this crackdown on the citizens who criticize the abuse of human rights in Zimbabwe before they blame sanctions.
ZANU-PF must religiously follow the constitution and constitutionalism. Allow the opposition to criticize corruption, state-sponsored abductions, political violence, long pre-trial detentions, and arbitrary arrests in a purportedly democratic country.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has cried foul over Brentford’s game approach in their league encounter on Monday.
The Reds lost 3-1 to the Bees, conceding two goals in the first half. The hosts had two other goals – both from corners – disallowed after a VAR review.
Klopp accused Brentford of stretching the rules and feels that their opponents caused ‘chaos’ in the box during the set-pieces and made a lot of fouls that go unnoticed by the officials.
The gaffer said in a press conference after the game: “Brentford create chaos with set-pieces. When I say they stretch the rules, they do, in offensive set-pieces. Don’t get me wrong, it’s smart, but they do.
“If you could single out all the situations you would find five fouls but because it’s so chaotic no one sees it in the end. So that’s what they do and it’s really good.”
Klopp also claimed that Brentford’s third goal should have been disallowed after Konate went down in the build-up, allowing Bryan Mbeumo to run through and finish.
“The third goal should not be a goal, easy as that. If you’ve ever played football and been in a foot sprint and you get a slight push you go down because you cannot keep balance. That’s how it is and you could see that,” he said:
“That’s actually exactly the same as I’d talk to my microwave. You get no response really. It’s always the same. Before the season they give us advice that the players must be careful in these moments because the refs will have an eye on it and you see these games and pretty much everything is allowed. It’s always on the edge.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe
A Warren Park woman was arrested yesterday for allegedly stealing her married lover’s vehicle, cash and cellphone.
Chipo Manhando, 23, went for a joyride around the streets of Warren Park D in her married lover Energy Matika’s Toyota RunX without his consent.
During the joyride celebrating New Year in the company of her friend, Tanatswa, along 149th Street, Chipo who was reportedly drunk, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a precast wall and destroyed the dining room of a house belonging to Partner Mukaukirwa.
Partner’s dining room suffered extensive damages on two sides.
The RunX reportedly belongs to Energy’s wife, who is based in the United Kingdom.
Energy reported Chipo to the police for car theft as well as stealing his US$370 and a mobile phone.
A relative told H-Metro that Chipo has no driver’s licence.
“Chipo has been dating Energy for some time,” she said, refusing to identify herself.
“They were together at Pfukwa Shopping Centre on New Year’s Eve. Police dispersed revellers and that is when Chipo drove the car in the company of Tanatswa.
“They made some rounds and nearly knocked down pedestrians before she destroyed Partner’s house.
“Partner asked Chipo to repair his house, and Energy decided to lodge a police report against her for theft,” said the relative.
Energy could not be reached for comment.
However, H-Metro is reliably informed that Chipo is currently detained at Warren Park Police Station and is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
Partner has since given Chipo a quotation for the damage to his house believed to run into several thousands of US dollars.

By A Correspondent | An NHS nurse has confirmed that she hired a male witch to perform an attack on her husband so that she can date a Nigerian boyfriend.
The development led to her husband vanishing and Manchester Police raising an alert for his whereabouts.
Tendai Maturure is the missing Manchester Zimbabwean, Patrick Mukanganise’s wife, and her husband’s Facebook account Tuesday posted a black dot with no further detail.
Makanganise, who went missing on 30 Dec 2022, is the “victim” of a witchcraft attack (see transcript of the consultation at the bottom of the article) supposedly performed by his wife who wants him to “get stupid” so that she can date another man, according some leaked audio recordings.

While it could not be ascertained if the poster is trully Makanganise himself, several people were on Tuesday reaching out to him offering help.
“Sending love, hope you are okay,” said Kirsty Murray, while others were more direct.
“We love you isuuu,” wrote Ivy Muriva.
Another, Tendai Shona Tsopota, revealed Makanganise has been found. He wrote thanking Manchester Police saying, “wow wow thank YOU GOD,
My Jesus you’re great.
Friends and family Patrick Mukanganise is alive and well.
Thank you Greater Manchester Police ……….”
On an unknown date, a woman with the same voice as Mukanganise’s wife is heard consulting a South Africa based so called, Sekuru Tembo, and the conversation is as below.
Tendai Maturure later on Tuesday confirmed to ZimEye she is the one who consulted the said male witch Sekuru Tembo for methods of causing hurt on her husband so that she can bed a Nigerian boyfriend. (AUDIO ON ZIMEYE FB PAGE)
Sekuru Tembo: “I put your photo into the vessel. The following morning, if the tree (a mufandichimuka) is dry, if it is leafy, I will put it into a hari (pot), it means something.
Right now we can now talk.”
“Putting him into the sack is so that he becomes stupid, all he does is to think about you. Do you still need to understand more?
Tendai Mukanganise: “I was only told by my friend that Sekuru Tembo puts someone into a sack; But I had no clue what it means. What I am asking you is so that you cause this man who left me, get totally and forever sedated, that is, mad, you trap him up so that his life fails for good, and this Nigerian must be tuned up for me (become interested in me).
Sekuru Tembo: Not a problem amaMoyo; but right now I have people knocking on my door, they want me to help them with a chidhoma matter affecting someone. I don’t know what time you go to work. Let me talk to them.”

By- The President of Tanzania madam, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has lifted a ban on opposition political parties’ rallies.
The former and late Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli imposed the ban six years ago.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s decision is part of her 4Rs initiative – Reconciliation, Resilience, Reforms and Rebuilding.
She acknowledged parties had the right to hold rallies but she urged them to be “civil” and not to “trade insults”
Mr Magufuli had banned rallies in between elections in what was seen as an attempt to weaken the opposition.
He dismissed rallies as a waste of time and money, and said they detracted from the key challenge of building the economy.
Mrs Samia announced the reversal of his policy at a meeting with opposition politicians.
“Our duty as a government will be offering protection for the rallies,” she said.
The chairman of the main opposition Chadema party, Freeman Mbowe, said he welcomed the announcement.
“The move is first of all a return to a right guaranteed in the constitution and our laws,” he added.
Mr Mbowe spent seven months in prison, before the prosecution dropped charges of terrorism against him in March 2022.
His arrest had raised doubts about Mrs Samia’s commitment to reforms after she became president following Mr Magufuli’s death in 2021.
Anther opposition politician, Zito Kabwe, told AFP news agency that the president’s decision to lift the ban was a “big move”.
“This is the right that was snatched by the state through an illegal presidential decree,” he added.
Mrs Samia also promised to look into opposition demands for changes to the constitution.
Opposition parties say the constitution gives too much power to the president. They also want changes to safeguard the independence of the electoral commission and the courts.
Mrs Samiah is the leader of the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), which has been in power for more than half a century.
It has often been accused of rigging elections, and of harassing and intimidating the opposition. It denies the allegations.

By- A Zanu PF-affiliated youth empowerment lobby group, the Economic Empowerment Group has said Winky D must be banned from performing in Zimbabwe.
The group accuses the Dancehall chanter of dabbling into politics through music, especially the song Ibotso he collaborated with hip hop artist Holy Ten.
At a press conference held this Tuesday, the group said Winky D’s music promotes hatred instead of building the nation as promoted by President Mnangagwa in his “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo mantra.“
The song is from Winky D’s album titled Eureka.
The song speaks about the social ills prevalent in Zimbabwe. It also attributes the hardships faced by the common man in the southern African nation to corruption by political elites “who steal from the powerless masses” (vanodya zvavapfupi nekureba).
The duo has faced persecution to the extent that Holy Ten, born Mukudzei Chitsama has said he was regretting working with the Gaffa President in the sonng. He cites the sensationalisation of the song by commentators, mainly journalists, and activists.
Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere has said “An artist’s social commentary on the state of our society & the lives of citizens is not” hate. She added:
By- The government has unleashed security forces to disperse thousands of unemployed youths who had invaded Goromonzi North in search of Lithium.
There is a Lithium rush in the area, with people seeking quick riches in the soft silvery-white alkali metal.
Zanu PF MP for the area, Ozias Bvute, said security forces had chased the fortune seekers.
“There is now order in the area and mining will be done following due processes. This will benefit both miners and the nation at large. I gathered that mining is now done in tributes and a number of youths from Goromonzi are benefiting,” Bvute said.
The artisanal miners were gathering lithium ore, selling it for around US$10 per wheelbarrow to buyers reportedly selling it for US$400 per tonne.
By- The police have slapped the jailed Harare bouncers with fresh assault and public violence charges.
According to the state media, numerous victims have come forward to file complaints against the hooligans, Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda, who are currently in custody pending bail hearing.
They are facing attempted murder charges.

Enigmatic preacher Passion Java has threatened to hack Winky D’s YouTube account following a ‘diss’ song.
Java took to his official Facebook page on New Year’s day and declared that he had seen Winky D’s YouTube account disappearing in a spiritual vision.
Passion Java said the Zimdancehall musician’s YouTube account had ‘disappeared’ because of a diss song.
“Hanzi diss song chi.. chi… ndawona mumweya YouTube account yese yangoshaikwa pa internet.!
(2023 igore re Jongwe ?),” Passion Java wrote.

By-Leader of a Harare-based apostolic sect, one Madzibaba Joshua has destroyed the marriage of one of his followers.
A Helensvale couple is about to collapse as the husband is complaining that his wife is denying him sex because she is dating Madzibaba Joshua.
Andrew Majar, 32, claimed his wife Teresa Kondo, 29, has been denying him sex for the past three months.
Majar said their problem started when his wife’s friend started spreading rumours that she was dating their church leader, Madzibaba Joshua, of Johane Masowe Yeguwo Tsvuku.
“At first I thought that people were lying about my wife’s infidelity and I tried to talk to her nicely. I was later convinced that she was indeed dating Madzibaba Joshua after going through some messages in her cellphone.
“I also heard that Madzibaba Joshua was frequently coming to my homestead claiming to be helping my daughter who is not feeling well,” he said.
Contacted for comment, Teresa could neither deny nor confirm the rumours.
She said the media could not solve their matrimonial problems
“I don’t want to comment on this story because matrimonial problems cannot be solved by a newspaper article,” she said.

Blessed Sabbath!
By A Correspondent| On July 6th, 2021, a hearing was held at the High Court in an application by Chiutsi to overturn Justice Mathonsi’s 2017 ruling, which had dismissed his prayer for an order to set aside the Sheriff’s confirmation of the auction sale of his Highlands property to Bariadie Investments (Bariadie).
Justice Tawanda Chitapi was presiding. Chiutsi’s grounds were bold, claiming Bariadie had not participated in the auction as claimed.
The property had been attached to pay off Chiutsi’s $70,000 debt to Elliot Rogers. The actual debt was $116,000, but the 2014 order had accounted for a dispute over fees and provisionally only granted $70,000.
Chitapi was not unfamiliar with the matter, having presided over a related case in 2019 where Bariadie sought to cancel the title deed held by Mashamhanda after Chiutsi sold and transferred the property, taking advantage of an apparent
failure by the Sheriff to place a caveat on the property. Chitapi dismissed the 2019 Bariadie application on the grounds that the matter had already been heard and settled by Justice Manzunzu (res judicata) in an application supposedly brought by Rogers (via Biti Law). Chitapi observed that Bariadie had merely changed from respondent to applicant and Rogers from applicant to respondent.
It is worth noting that when Chiutsi sold the house to Tendai Mashamhanda, he immediately paid $115,000 to the Biti Law trust account and paid the debt to Rogers in full. It is unclear why Rogers (via Biti Law) continued to litigate.
Tendai Mashamhanda, in his May 2022 dossier to the Justice Minister, alleges it was not Rogers litigating but Tendai Biti acting of his own accord on the strength of a fraudulent Power of Attorney having forged Rogers’s signature.
HUNTERS HUNTED: BARIADIE AND BITI ON THE RUN
Bariadie and Biti Law (representing Rogers) made several moves to delay and stall the proceedings, including seeking the recusal of judges and sending legal papers to the wrong address.
Tendai Mashamhanda claims this was because they knew Chiutsi had evidence that the auction did not happen as claimed.
By July 6th, Chitapi had dismissed their preliminary points. They requested written reasons and indicated their intention to appeal to the Supreme Court. Given the relatively straightforward nature of the case and the presumed availability of documentary evidence, the other party’s eagerness to have the case dismissed on technicalities seems somewhat suspicious. One judge had already recused himself at their request, with the effect of delaying the hearing of Chiutsi’s application.
When they similarly requested his recusal, Chitapi refused. In its complaint to the JSC, Bariadie falsely claimed that two judges had recused themselves from the matter, justices Chinamora and Munangati-Manongwa. The facts are quite the contrary.
Chinamora recused himself from the case at the request of Tendai Biti. The case was then assigned to Justice Munangati Mungoti.
However, lawyers for Bariadie, Gill, Godlonton & Gerrans deliberately sent notice of the hearing to the wrong address, causing Chiutsi not to attend the hearing. As a result, the case was struck from the roll and returned to Chinamora.
Chinamora asked the parties to provide lists of judges they did not want to hear the case, and Chiutsi submitted his list.
Bariadie did not submit a list. Chinamora then assigned the case to Judge Chitapi. Given the foregoing, Chitapi was right to refuse. The deliberate misrepresentation in Bariadies JSC complaint suggests it has no confidence in its own case.
ALLEGED SECRET JULY 20 HEARING AND DEFAULT JUDGEMENT
At the heart of the matter is the allegation that Justice Chitapi held an unscheduled hearing. Specifically, it is alleged that the hearing held on July 20, 2021, which none of the respondents attended and where default judgement was granted in Chiutsi’s favour, was unscheduled.
However, the High Court record of the July 6 proceedings undermines those allegations, quoting Chitapi
“and the hearing of the application will be held on 20 July 2021 at 10 am. So the main application stands postponed to that date and lastly, the wasted costs of 9 June are reserved for determination in the application for leave to appeal.”
When Chiutsi appeared at the Supreme Court with the default judgement, whose effect would be to end proceedings, Bariadie’s lawyers claimed complete ignorance of the existence of the decision.
In a complaint against Chitapi written to the Judicial Services Commission during the Supreme Court hearing and placed before Justice Gwaunza in her capacity as deputy chair of the JSC, despite her being presiding over the same matter in her capacity as deputy Chief Justice, Bariadie executive director Kingston Hamutendi Munyawarara claimed:
“Curiously, on the morning of the Supreme Court hearing on 16 September 2021, our lawyers were handed a copy of a default judgment
“The judgment came as a shock to us since none of our Counsel was aware of any hearing that took place on the 20th of July 2021. The judgment itself claims that our Counsel wilfully defaulted Court on 20 July 2021.”
AFFIDAVITS THAT SAID NOTHING
In an affidavit dated September 18, 2021, Advocate Thabani Mpofu (view affidavit) supported the claim that there was no communication that the matter would be heard on July 20. It is notable that Adv Mpofu relies entirely on Advocate Tafadzwa Mapuranga (instructed by Bariadie’s attorneys), who he said assured him that there was nothing said in court on July 6 to schedule July 20 as the date for the main application nor any other.
Despite giving these assurances to Adv Mpofu, Adv Mapuranga was not in attendance on July 6 Instead, he claims reliance on Diana Kawenda of Biti Law with whom he had made arrangements to note the outcome of proceedings on his behalf. Kawenda was herself noncommittal, swearing an affidavit on September 16th in which she submitted.
“I do not recall an order the parties appear on the 20th of July 2021 and I did not make any such communication to Advocate Mapuranga.”
She does not say there was no order, merely that she does not recall.
It is immediately apparent that none of these affidavits contains statements asserting anything. Adv Mpofu relies on Adv Mapuranga who purports to offer assurances despite relying on Kawenda who does not make a statement of fact.
It appears peculiar that three lawyers would rely on a testimony asserting convenient memory loss when they know that High Court proceedings are recorded and that a record of the proceedings can be secured to establish the facts.
A cynic would be forgiven for saying these affidavits were written with perjury in mind. Even Kawenda was careful not to say anything authoritative; in this way, she could always argue that she never said there was no order but did not recall. The other lawyers would be equally safe.
These affidavits were written purportedly for an application of rescission of default judgement. However, that application was never prosecuted. The application was abandoned after Chiutsi caught wind that an application had been filed, but he had curiously not been served with the papers.
They had been sent to the wrong address.
Tendai Mashamhanda alleges this was by design. It is hard to find a basis to dispute his assessment. Chiutsi would immediately file opposing papers as soon as he got the papers. That was the end of the matter, and the application was never prosecuted. There was no answering affidavit filed in response to Chiutsi’s opposing papers.
The question is why. Why would any lawyer not prosecute an application for rescission of a default judgement issued after a hearing purportedly held without their knowledge?
Tendai Mashamhanda is not unreasonable in arguing that this was because they knew a hearing at High Court would expose falsehoods they had made before the Supreme Court while giving Chiutsi a platform to prove his auction claims.
SUPREME ERROR: MENTIONING JULY 20
The claim that the lawyers had no knowledge of the July 20 hearing is undermined by the purported finding of the Supreme Court’s researcher Dean Mawere, who mentions July 20.
Mawere said: “The default judgement was granted in respect of an application for setting aside the confirmation of sale by 4th respondent. This was despite the fact that the hearing on 20th July was scheduled for an application for leave to appeal. Quite how the court aquo then proceeded to determine the substantive issue between the parties is staggering and procedurally inept.”
The Supreme Court’s judgement repeated this accusation and relied on a purported quote from Chitapi from July 6, in which he is alleged to have said: “The hearing of the application is set down for hearing on 20 July, 2021 at 10am. The wasted costs of June 2021 are reserved for determination in the application for leave to appeal.”
The Supreme Court could not have relied on the official record of proceedings as it includes a reference to the main application being postponed to July 20.
A violent contradiction emerges.
Recall that Diana Kawenda of Biti Law claims she did not recall any reference to July 20 (view affidavit). Yet, the Supreme Court ruling recognises that a hearing was properly scheduled for July 20. Its objection is not to the scheduling, instead alleging that the hearing was limited to addressing preliminary issues. This, too, as the record of proceedings shows, is incorrect.
Furthermore, Bariadies lawyers wrote to Registrar of the High Court on July 9 and displayed cognisance of the proceedings of the July 6 hearing. It is hard to believe that they only were able to hear everything except the part about the main application being postponed to July 20.
How is it possible that all the respondents made the exact same mistake, together with the Supreme Court researcher and three judges, reaching a conclusion at variance with the record of proceedings? Was this a genuine error or, as Tendai Mashamhanda alleges, a conspiracy involving the highest court in the land?
SPECULATION: AVOIDING THE HIGH COURT?
Since the Supreme Court accepts that the July 20 hearing was scheduled, albeit misquoting Chitapi to exclude the part which referred to the main application, we must proceed on the fact that the hearing was scheduled.
It is highly unusual for lawyers to fail to attend a scheduled hearing and not follow up on the matter afterwards.
In this case, it’s possible that one lawyer had a domestic emergency, another was involved in a car accident, and the third had prior commitments.
However, the fact that none of the legal representatives made any attempt to follow up on the matter after the July 20 hearing raises suspicions.
The question must be answered as to why they behaved in this peculiar manner.
It’s possible that they knew that any interaction with the court on that matter would deny them the opportunity to plead ignorance of the proceedings, as alleged by Tendai Mashamhanda.
This would be consistent with the conspiracy he has claimed.
It is difficult to fault his conclusion that Bariadie and Rogers were desperate to prevent the hearing on Chiutsi’s application because Bariadie did not in fact attend any auction and the hearing would have revealed as much.
If Chiutsi’s claim that the auction did not happen as claimed is incorrect, then one would expect Bariadie and Rogers to be eager for the matter to be clarified through the production of documentary evidence. In this case, no legal arguments would be necessary – just the presentation of the relevant documents. The fact that they have not produced such evidence raises suspicions about the veracity of their claims.
TROUBLED DOCUMENTS
Perhaps that simplicity, requiring the presentation of the relevant documents, was precisely the reason for their trepidation.
As with the claimed caveat, there appears to be no documentation to support the auction claims. Bariadie’s complaint to the JSC insists there was a caveat on the property. Still, no evidence has ever been presented to the extent that Adv Mpofu, when pressed by Justice Chitapi, was forced to speculate that Chiutsi had conspired with the deeds office to remove it corruptly.
The Sheriff would have received a notification from the deeds office confirming placement of the requested caveat if a caveat was indeed placed on the property.
Surely the Sheriff could have long ago produced this confirmation, putting the matter to rest?
Indeed, why would the deeds office deny the existence of the caveat knowing that the Sheriff was in possession of their confirmation letter, which would expose the lie? It is implausible.
The auction also has document problems. There is no explanation as to how the commissioner certified Bariadie as the highest bidder some three days before the actual auction.
The matter cannot be considered settled without an explanation of how the commissioner’s certificate
came to be dated September 15, 2017, when the auction was supposedly held on September 18, 2017. The only possible explanation is that the certificate is fraudulent. It is outrageous that the issue can be considered closed and justice served without answering these pertinent questions.
Bariadie claims to have paid US$270,000 for the property but has not produced evidence to support the claim.
The receipt provided as evidence shows an RTGS deposit stamped October 25, 2018, by the Sheriff of Zimbabwe accounts office.
However, as Mashamhanda points out, there was no RTGS currency in Zimbabwe in 2018. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe introduced the currency in 2019.
The conspiracy against Justice Chitapi is not just about a suburban home in affluent Highlands. It is about the integrity of the justice system and the rule of law in Zimbabwe.

By Patrick Guramatunhu | “Chamisa himself knows he is too small to be saluted by these men of war. These generals are waiting for their turn on the presidency and this can only happen when Zanu PF is in power, so even if Zanu PF loses the election why would they let it go without a fight?” said Ignatius Chombo, a former Zanu PF minister and one of G40 leaders accused by Mnangagwa regime of corruption.
How many times did we hear Zanu PF apologists say the security services top brass would never salute Morgan Tsvangirai since the launch of the MDC in 1999? Security services chiefs, the likes of the late Douglas Nyikayaramba and Vitalis Zvinavashe, themselves said these treasonous statements openly. They were never cautioned much less court-marshalled – proof they had Zanu PF government approval.
Such threatening statements always came thick and fast whenever Zanu PF felt its iron grip on power was slipping. Zanu PF’s grip on power was feeble than it was runner up to the 2008 elections and it was no surprise many security chiefs made these seditious statements to bolster Zanu PF’s electoral chances.
Zanu PF lost the March 2008 vote but before the results were declared Mnangagwa, it is not clear who else were involved, stopped ZEC declaring the results. He then spent the next six weeks recounting the five million votes. Tsvangirai’s 73% vote count, by Mugabe’s own Freudian slip, was whittled down to 47%, enough to justify a run-off.
During the run-off all the security services; Police, Army, CIO and Prison Services; supplied manpower deployed to carryout operation Mavhotera papi whose primary objective was to punish the ordinary Zimbabweans for daring to reject Zanu PF and Mugabe. Tsvangirai was forced to withdraw and Mugabe won the one-horse race with 84%.
SADC and AU, for the first time ever since independence, refuse to endorse the Zanu PF electoral victory and political legitimacy forcing the party to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA). Agreeing to the need for Zimbabwe to implement democratic reforms design to end Zanu PF’s undemocratic control of state institutions including the security services.
Fully implemented the reforms would have made the refusal by any security officer to salute democratically elected official for petty political party allegiance a high treason!
The tragedy for Zimbabwe was that MDC failed to implement even one meaningful reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because Tsvangirai and company turned out to be corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.
The security services chiefs knew the primary task of the GNU was to implement the reforms and cut the undemocratic umbilical cord giving Zanu PF power over the Army, Police, etc. None of the security chiefs protested the signing of the 2008 GPA including the individuals who had proclaimed they would never salute Tsvangirai.
And there is not one iota of evidence to suggest the security chiefs interfered in any way to stop the implementation of the reforms. The blame for failing to implement the reforms is with the GNU politicians alone, especially the MDC leaders.
Zanu PF is a party of ruthless thugs who have always resorted to all manner of dirty tricks including fear and violence to retain their iron grip on power. The security chiefs’ refusal to salute opposition leaders was meant to instil fear in the voters that the country would slip into lawlessness if the people voted into power someone the security chiefs did not approval of. Opposition leaders were on the “not approved” list.
No nation should ever allow itself to be held to ransom. The people of Zimbabwe alone must decide who governs the country through the holding of free, fair and credible elections. That is not negotiable!
When Zimbabwe finally implement the democratic reforms and restore the rule of law; it is now a matter of when and not if, the present political system is unsustainable, and change is certainly coming; Ignatius Chombo held to account for his treasonous statement. He must name the individuals would not salute Chamisa and why he took it upon himself to broadcast from the rooftop such obnoxious tidings! – SOURCE: zimbabwelight.blogspot.com…

A Zimbabwean university lecturer has dragged a traditional leader to court for accusing him of proposing love to married women in Chigodora.
Ranganai Njodzi (pictured), a Computer Science lecturer at a local university, is accused of destroying marriages in the peri-urban area of Chigodora and pampering the wives with chickens.
The lecturer is also accused of assaulting the women’s husbands and leaving them for dead.
This was revealed recently after Njodzi dragged Village head Gosho whose real name is Denford Zimunya to Headman Chigodora’s court.
Njodzi accused Gosho of soiling his image in the community through what he described as unfounded allegations. He said:
Gosho called for a meeting at his homestead and told the gathering that I was a marriage wrecker and robber.
He instructed the people to attack me with stones and I now fear for my safety because these people are baying for my blood.
They no longer want me in the area because of the instructions they got from their community leader, yet I am not a marriage wrecker.
He has tarnished my image in the community. I work at a local university and some of my students stay in the area. They no longer respect me because of the allegations.
This man (Gosho) hates me, a reason why he wants to destroy my good social standing.
Njodzi challenged Gosho to bring forward witnesses who can confirm that he had proposed love to married women.
Gosho said he had witnesses, adding that the husbands and their wives refused to attend the court out of fear of victimisation. He said:
I have witnesses. He is in the habit of proposing love to married women and pampers them with chickens.
When the women’s husbands confront him over the issue, he assaults them.
He even stripped naked one of the husbands before assaulting him. The man fled and hid in the graveyard.
The village head said he was about to expel Njodzi out of his area saying he doesn’t accept marriage wreckers.
However, Headman Chigodora criticised Gosho for tarnishing Njodzi’s image before establishing the truth. He said:
Instead, after hearing the allegations, you hurriedly convicted Njodzi in his absence and ordered people to stone him. You were wrong and should rectify your mistake.
We do not know whether he is womaniser or not, but he needs to be given a chance to present his side of the story.

By- Officials at Beitbridge Border Post have intercepted a consignment of lithium ore on three haulage trucks belonging to one Bernard Tafadzwa Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa was smuggling the ore from Zimbabwe to South Africa and had declared it as manganese.
Mines and Mineral Development ministry officials arrived at the border post on Friday morning to attend to the trucks, now under police and Zimbabwe National Army guard.
It is understood that the raw mineral was extracted from places near Sandawana in Mberengwa and transported to Bulawayo, where it was kept near Khami Cafe close to Bulawayo’s Vehicle Inspection Department.
The mineral was reportedly stored there to facilitate smuggling.
Zimbabwe has abundant deposits of lithium and, with rising global demand and firmer prices, it has become an attractive destination for investment in this resource.

Self-exiled former Cabinet minister, Wal-ter Mzembi, says next year’s elections will once again mainly be a battle between Presi-dent Emmerson Mnangagwa and Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa, with the latter up against it in the polls. Speaking to the Daily News from his South African base yesterday, Mzembi also said CCC would pose the only significant challenge to Zanu PF in those crunch elections — although it was the presidential ballot that would most likely cause national excitement again. This comes after Chamisa narrowly lost to Mnangagwa in the 2018.
This comes as more and more prominent people have added their voices to the growing calls for inclusive national dialogue ahead of the 2023 polls, to help end Zimbabwe’s decades-long myriad challenges. CCC bigwig, Tendai Biti, and exiled former Zanu PF political commissar Saviour Kasulcuwere recently said that elections alone would not resolve the country’s long-standing political and eco-nomic challenges. Speaking during a virtual Sapes discussion last Thursday, Biti said the country ideally needed to go to the polls in 2023 after having held inclusive dialogue. “Look, any solution to the Zim-babwean crisis that simply thinks that an election held one day can resolve 44 years of abuse, some would argue 100 years of abuse since 1890 … it’s not going to be possible. “So, we need genuine dialogue that must, however, ultimately end in a scenario where the citizens are allowed to choose their leaders. “We need dialogue that focuses on creating and recreating articu-lated common consensus, not the disarticulated and fragmented vision that we have at the present moment. “What does it mean to be a Zimbabwean? What kind of Zimbabwe do we want? What are our collective fears? If I am a war veteran what is my fear? If I am a worker from Chitungwiza, if I am a Ndebele citizen from Tsholotsho, what is my fear? Biti asked. “What is Gukurahundi to me? What is the alienation and ramification that I have gone through?
That conversation … is the conversation that we want. We need a real conversation as Zimbabwe,” he added. On his part, Kasukuwere -who is also living in self-imposed exile in South Africa – said it was high time Zimbabweans held national dialogue, because without this the country would remain stuck in crises. Meanwhile, Mzembi also said yesterday that although Mnangagwa’s government had made strides in the growth of the agriculture and mining sectors, there was a need to ensure that the earnings from these activities were fully accounted for and distributed equitably. “National productivity in the core pillars of mining and aagriculturehas eicked up if export earnings are a measure. “The main challenge here is plugging leakages and illicit ffinancialflows, as well as optimising and retaining earnings to improve local cash flows and redistributing the earnings equitably. “Zimbabwe has enough to go around to the poorest man, but the main challenge is now eequitability growth with equity and equal opportunity,” he said.
Regarding his own political ambitions, Mzembi said he still had much to offer in terms of leadership and would consider bouncing back into Zanu PF if he was invited to do so. “There are factionalists inside Zanu PF working tirelessly against rapprochement, who are seem-ingly insecure with inclusivity and generational competition. “Those who wield power are in a better position to exercise it in uniting rather than dividing, and in building rather than destroying. “The ball is in the court of those who wield power, not its victims. However, and that said, it takes two to tango. There must exist also in the virtues of reflection and forgiveness whilst remaining principled,” Mzembi said. “I don’t recognise the processes and illegalities of the November 2017 Zanu PF Central Committee that jettisoned me out of the party. “I still have a lot of political life in me. My political mind is at its supreme. The vision still intact. God willing, I will be back soon if the people call me to serve again, to which I will respond with the proverbial ‘Here I am’ – but guided by a new template of national, not partisan service,” he added.- DailyNews
