Maid “Rapes” Employer’s Son (13), Offers Him US$2

By A Correspondent- A 24 year old domestic worker from Chitungwiza has been arrested on allegations of sexually abusing her employer’s 13-year-old son.

It is alleged that the accused offered the minor two United States dollars to persuade him to be intimate with her. The minor turned down the offer and the accused allegedly forced herself on him.

The minor revealed the matter to his mother who made a police report leading to the suspect’s arrest. Harare provincial police spokesperson,

Chief Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident. ‘

’We are investigating a case of aggravated indecent assault that happened in Chitungwiza and the suspect is now in police custody,” said Chief Inspector Mwanza.

Murder Charges For Harare Woman

By A Correspondent- A Harare woman has been hauled to court facing attempted murder charges.

The court heard that on March 3 Melody Changa stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife.

She argued that her husband had impolitely told her to get their daughter ready for school. Changa is alleged to have picked up a kitchen knife and cut her husband once on the left side of his head and ear.

Harare Magistrate Yeukai Dzuda remanded Changa in custody and advised her to approach the High Court for bail.

Duo Hauled To Court For “Hacking Econet”

By A Correspondent- Two men from Harare appeared in court today (Friday) facing charges of hacking into the converged billing system of one of the country’s mobile network providers.

The duo, Owen Maleta and Kuzivakwashe Nyamuchengwa aged 23 and 24 respectively reportedly moved data bundles and airtime worth nearly 2 million Zimbabwe dollars into their cellphones.

This happened between January and February this year. They were arrested on Tuesday and were found in possession of iPhones which were tracked to be the primary receivers of the proceeds of crime.

Maleta was denied bail as he once committed a similar offence and was sentenced to restitution and community service. He already has another pending case against the same complainant.

Harare Magistrate Yeukai Dzuda remanded the duo in custody to the 7th of March for bail application.

Grave Digger Dies After Meal, 40 Endure Stomach Pains

By-One person died while 40 others experienced severe stomach pains following suspected food poisoning at a funeral in Nyazura last week.

The deceased, William Mubvumbi, was among 50 villagers who were digging a grave for the late Emas Chiwanza.

They were served sadza and beef stew which had been stored in some plastic containers.

The food had been prepared in Odzi about 42km away from where Chiwanza was initially supposed to be buried.

It is believed that keeping the food in plastic containers for a long time may have resulted in the poisoning.

Acting Makoni District Medical Officer, Dr Hospea Maringe also confirmed the poisoning incident and Mubvumbi’s death. Said Maringe:

We attended to the body of William Mubvumbi who died on his way to Rusape General Hospital.

We collected samples which we will forward to pathologists who will determine the type of poison that claimed his life.

Food poison is broad and the specialists will determine whether it was chemical, bacterial or something else.

The other 12 affected people who came on Saturday were treated and discharged on Sunday. They were all stable.

Mubvumbi’s uncle, Bonus Chadereka, narrated to The Manica Post the events leading to his nephew’s death. He said:

Last Saturday morning, Mr Mubvumbi left for the Chiwanza funeral. He was among the grave diggers which comprised fellow community members and some Chiwanza relatives. They were served some food and he later started complaining of a stomach ache.

He came back home and did not sleep well due to stomach pains. His condition deteriorated last Sunday morning as he was no longer speaking.

We hired a vehicle to ferry him to Rusape General Hospital, but unfortunately, he died on the way.

We inquired what had really transpired and we learnt that more members of the community were complaining of stomach aches, vomiting and diarrhoea.

The villagers told us that they started experiencing this after eating food at the gravesite.

About 40 people needed urgent attention, 12 were rushed to Rusape General Hospital and the rest were treated at Nyazura Clinic.

Post mortem was done on Mr Mubvumbi and the doctor confirmed the cause of death as food poisoning. He was buried in Manica Bridge, Muchinguri Village.

The Chiwanza family spokesperson, Collin Chiwanza, suspect that the plastic containers may have contaminated the food. He said:

Food was prepared for the gravediggers, unfortunately, the beef stew was put in a plastic bucket and sealed to avoid spilling it on its way to Nyazura.

From what we have learnt, the food was not supposed to be in a plastic container, and delays in serving it rendered it poisonous. More than 50 people, including Emas’ son, consumed the food.

In fact, the person who was serving the food is among those affected. We mourn with the Mubvumbi family over the loss of their relative.

Kenya Drops Mandatory Mask Wearing

By- Kenya’s Ministry of Health has lifted the mandatory wearing of masks that was imposed on 3 April 2020 at the height of COVID-19 infections and hospitalisations in the country.

Announcing the development on Friday, Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe, said Kenyans should, however, maintain social distancing to ensure the risk of spreading the coronavirus is limited.

Said Kagwe:

All Kenyans to continue to adhere to social measures, ensure frequent hand washing, sanitising and exercise personal responsibility.

There has been a lot of debate on facemasks. Wearing of facemasks in open places is now lifted.

Kagwe called on his compatriots to continue observing other ministry of health protocols when in public spaces. He said:

If you are going to eat in a meat joint, the standards must be high. The sanitation, washing of hands must be top-notch.

You must also respect the people eating in your joint. You must respect your customers and make sure the restaurant is clean. There will be penalties if that does not happen.

Kenya has recorded 323 140 cases of COVID-19 and 5 644 deaths but vaccination rates remain low.

Only 28.5 per cent of the adult population was fully vaccinated as of March 10, 2022.

Mnangagwa Ignores Dzamara Search

By-Journalist-cum-social rights activist Itai Dzamara was allegedly kidnapped by suspected state security agents on the 9th of March in 2015, his whereabouts are not known since then.

There have been calls from human rights defenders and the international community on the government to make sure that Dzamara is safely brought back since it is its sole responsibility to protect every Zimbabwean citizen.
In a message to mark the 7th anniversary since Dzamara disappeared, the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) said the government must ensure that assailants who kidnapped the journalist are brought to justice. They said:
Today marks the 7th anniversary of the disappearance of Itai Dzamara. We call on government to mobilise the full extent of its resources to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dzamara’s abduction and to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. Dzamara’s family and the generality of Zimbabweans deserve answers on where he is, what happened on 9 March 2015 and who is responsible for his disappearance. We remind government of its constitutional obligations to safeguard the right to life and personal liberty, the right to participate in peaceful political activities, the right to demonstrate and petition peacefully and the citizens’ right to express themselves freely and without repercussion.
Dzamara was a staunch government critic.

Chinhoyi Rejects Mwonzora

Douglas Mwonzora

By- MDC-T president Douglas Mwonzora, on Wednesday aborted his Chinhoyi planned rally over poor attendance.

Mwonzora then accused Zanu PF and CCC of planning to unleash violence against his supporters at the aborted rally Chinhoyi.

Mwonzora was speaking to journalists after MDC-T supporters, numbering less than 30, turned out for his rally ahead of the 26 March by-elections.

The supporters were told to go home around 3 pm by aspiring Chegutu West legislator, Gift Konjana following a brief address in an almost empty Chinhoyi Hall in Gadzema township.

Mwonzora and MDC Alliance candidates in the 26 March by-elections later held a meeting at former Chinhoyi deputy mayor and aspiring Ward 3 councillor, Willie Nyambe’s house.

The MDC-T leader downplayed the low attendance at the rally and told reporters that the meeting at the Chinhoyi Hall was in preparation for a star rally scheduled for Sunday at Zimbabwe Grounds in Harare. Said Mwonzora:

We couldn’t hold our public meeting due to security issues as ZANU PF and CCC members were milling around the venue.

We don’t want to be drawn into violence, blood, name-calling and hate politics, so we have had to cancel the meeting. We didn’t want our members victimised.

I want to publicly appeal to our political opponents to desist from provoking MDC. We are urging people to campaign peacefully.

Our strategy in these by-elections is to know the real voters, and we are not interested in crowds.

By-Zanu PF supporters brought business to a standstill in Marondera as they moved in a car rally, with the ZRP seemingly unbothered.

This happened after ZRP Friday barred CCC from hosting a rally in the same city.

The police informed CCC representative in Marondera, Caston Matewu, that the rally cannot go ahead, saying the opposition part’s notification to hold the rally “does not fully comply with the requirements of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act Chapter 11:23.”

CCC had planned to stage its rally today at Rudhaka Open Grounds.

Sangoma Dies After Attacked By Bees

By- A spirit medium died after he was stung by a swarm of bees at a shrine in Tsholotsho last week.

Milton Tshuma (80) of Mpucuko Village, Tshayile Line under Chief Matupula, and rain-makers, known as ihosana, gathered at the shrine to perform rainmaking rituals (umtolo) when they were stung by the bees.

Tshuma was rushed to hospital after being stung by the bees and died at Tsholotsho district hospital the following day. He was buried on Monday.

His young brother, Morgan Masaka Tshuma, who is headman for Tshayile Line confirmed the incident. He said:

This is something new and shocking. Spirit mediums are set to meet on Sunday to deliberate on the issue and select people who will visit the main Njelele Shrine to consult because this could be a sign that something bad has happened.

They were supposed to have an umtolo (ceremony) at the shrine when he was stung by inyosi zelinda. The shrine is a sacred place and only ihosana are allowed to enter.

When he entered the shrine intending to appease the spirits, he was also attacked by the bees and the other elders ran away instead of rescuing him.

Tsholotsho Rural District ward 6 Councillor Mthetho Sikhosana Tshuma said the now deceased was later rescued by his family members who rushed to the shrine after being told of the incident.

The shrine, located a short distance from Chief Matupula’s homestead, is referred to as little Njelele because it is believed to have a link with the main Njelele Shrine in Matopo, Matabeleland South province.

The significance of “Little Njelele”

The shrine has a small hut located at the centre and is surrounded by big trees.

Swarms of bees called inyosi zelinda, have stayed for many years within cavities of two trees at the shrine.

No unauthorised people are allowed in as the shrine is used for traditional ceremonies and rituals.

Team Pachedu Condemns Failure To Produce Verified Voters’ Roll But Not CCC For Participating in the Flawed Elections

By Nomusa Garikai | A few weeks ago, Team Pachedu, a group of IT savvy Zimbabweans, revealed some pretty shocking irregularities and illegalities in the voters’ roll such as the transfer of some voters from one Polling Station to another in another ward or constituency, away from their registered home addresses which had not changed. Only ZEC staff could have done this!

It took some IT expertise to extract these irregularities and illegalities the voters’ roll data Team Pachedu had received from ZEC. It should be noted that ZEC has never ever produced a verified voters’ roll in the country’s 42 years since independence. And ZEC has never ever produced a voters’ roll in the format suitable for analysis and auditing although this is a legal requirement.

The European Union had a 246 strong team of election observers for the 2018 Zimbabwe elections. The team was not impressed with ZEC’s conduct of the elections.

“The electoral commission (ZEC) lacked full independence and appeared to not always act in an impartial manner. The final results as announced by the Electoral Commission contained numerous errors and lacked adequate traceability, transparency and verifiability. As such, many aspects of the 2018 elections in Zimbabwe failed to meet international standards,” state the EU Observer Mission final report.

Team Pachedu’s findings was the smoking gun the EU Observer Mission report lacked!

ZEC was clearly surprise at the detailed revelations uncovered by Team Pachedu and the commission’s knee-jerk reaction was to discredit Team Pachedu.

“We would like to put it on record that Team Pachedu has, indeed, submitted our concerns to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and it has not responded,” said Team Pachedu in a statement.

“We have also personally sent it requests for various information which it has ignored. (We had asked for a full list of candidates from the January 26 nomination court, as well as a full list of accredited observers for the March 26 by-elections). ZEC has not responded to our request.

“ZEC’s claim that it is only accountable to Parliament is also false. The Electoral Act requires ZEC to keep voters and the general public informed.

“One such way to do that is to gazette any changes it makes to the voters roll which have not expressly been requested by the voter.

“ZEC has never gazetted a list of the changes it made.”

ZEC has since fired most of its IT personal. They will be replaced by the Israel NIKUV vote rigging experts or some such experts.

Team Pachedu will find it very difficult to get any voters’ roll data from ZEC and even if they get any data, it will be near impossible to decipher.

ZEC is obliged by law to produce a verified voters’ roll but we can be 100% certain that, once again, ZEC will not produce one. We can also be 100% certain that Zanu PF is rigging these elections.

Ironically, we are also 100% certain that the MDC/CCC will participate in the 2023 elections, knowing fully well that Zanu PF is rigging the elections and that by participating they are giving Zanu PF legitimacy. Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends are participating for the same reason they did not implement even one token reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so – greed.

Robert Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends with the trappings of high office they forgot about implementing reforms. “Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good life; they will never rock the boat!) boasted Zanu PF cronies when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing the democratic reforms during the GNU.

Zanu PF has since learned that the MDC/CCC will participate in the elections giving Zanu PF legitimacy regardless how flawed the process got as long as they are assured of winning a few gravy train seats. Since the 2018 elections Mnangagwa has sweetened the bribe by offering all presidential race candidates additional perks and benefit if they joined POLAD.

“This time I assure you, there will be no rigging, I now have eyes in ZEC, I am being briefed about their every move and even if they want to rig, we will know in advance and act to avert it,” Nelson Chamisa assured his 40 000 strong supporters in Gweru last weekend.

Before the 2018 elections Chamisa made a similar claim. “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections” he said in Mutare. It was all just hot air as Zanu PF blatantly rigged that election. Likewise, Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections.

As much as Team Pachedu would want 2023 elections to be free, fair and credible; to have a clean and verified voters’ roll, at least; it is clear that will never happen when ZEC is ignoring request and legal obligation to gazette voters’ roll changes, produce a verified voters’ roll, etc. Team Pachedu know that Zanu PF is rigging these elections and they also know that Nelson Chamisa and company are determined to participate in these elections regardless hence the reason why Team Pachedu have questioned ZEC’s refusal to produce verified voters’ roll but will not question CCC’s folly in insisting in participating in the flawed elections.-SOURCE: zsdemocrats.blogspot.com

Mwonzora Speaks On By-Elections

By- The Douglas Mwonzora led MDC-T has spoken out on its position on the oncoming by-elections where the party failed to field candidates in several constituencies.

In a statement, the party’s Secretary-General, Paurina Mpariwa, admitted failing to field candidates in a number of constituencies.

Below is the statement:

As all of you are aware, Zimbabwe will be having by-elections on March 26, 2022. I am very pleased that we have managed to field candidates in almost all vacant positions. Where we failed to, it was due to matters beyond our control and we took notes as we prepare for the 2023 General Elections. I am also delighted that we have managed to field more women candidates than our rivals for these elections. This is a fitting tribute to our female candidates during this Women’s Month, whose theme is “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”

We deliberately chose a grassroots centred campaign strategy for these by-elections. Our leaders led by President Douglas Mwonzora have been traversing across the country engaging directly with our party faithful. We are a labour backed and people-centred party and it is very important that each and every member, and those wishing to join us, are free to engage with our leaders in an intimate manner. This strategy has also given our leaders an opportunity to dispel rumours and innuendos peddled by our rivals on social media and other fora.

The feedback from the grassroot engagement is unanimously clear. Our people want change they can trust. Our people want a Zimbabwe where their savings and pensions are secure. Our people want quality and accessible education and health care. Our people yearn for dignified jobs and those working want incomes that can sustain them and their families. Our people want a fair justice system in Zimbabwe. Our people want unconditional justice and compensation for all victims of atrocities committed from Gukurahundi, 2008 election violence, Operation Murambatsvina, victims’ of 2018 election violence and many other tragedies brought upon our people because of their beliefs and yearning for a fully free Zimbabwe. Our people want full and unconditional implementation of the Mothlante Commission. Our people yearn for a day when they can vole and fully trust the outcome of the vote because the institutions will be fully independent. We are the only party that can deliver what our people yearn for.

Our message of hope, dialogue and unity of purpose has been positively received. I want to take this opportunity to invite you all to our MDC Alliance Star Rally on 13 March 2022 at Zimbabwe Grounds in Harare. President Mwonzora will be the keynote speaker and will be accompanied by other Alliance principals. This is going to be a festive event and I urge you all to restrain yourselves when provoked by misguided elements. We are a peaceful party and our history speaks for itself.

AUDIO: Maxwell Chikumbutso On Allegations Of Killing Genius Kadungure, And Calling for Chamisa to Be Replaced By Uebert Angel As Prime Minister

VIDEO LOADING BELOW…

SC: Good evening sir.

I have been communicating with the vice president for a while and I wish to ask you what science there is in appointing Uebert Angel the prime minister of Zimbabwe. I asked you this as according to your your title of an inventor.

What happened to the generator you planted in Mabelreign and you claimed that it can power 300 houses, and which you then took to Genius Kadungure’s house?

Lastly I wish to know what you did to Genius Kadungure’s car which caused his sudden death.

I request your response in the public interest and that you at your earliest opportunity reply. My deadline is midnight tonight.

Simba Chikanza.
ZimEye

MC: Hello Mukoma Simba. Thank you for reaching out to me. I saw your message late I was busy so never checked my WhatsApp until this morning. I am sorry I don’t know about the appointment of Prophet Ubert Angel and the decisions made on his appointment. I am shocked that your talking to the VP seemed to link, me to anything to do with the appointment, surely am at loss of words.

Concerning the Greener Power Machine, which had capacity to power 300 homes, it was never deployed in MABELREIGN. I was operating from Bluff Hill Park, this is where the working prototype was tested on launch I did in 2016.

The other last test was when we had a livestream testing of the Machine at a Church at Maranatha Park, after I was featured in Thrieve 2 scientific documentary produced by an American producer.

This is all I can tell you for now. I have decided to do my things quietly away from public social media.

About Genius’ car that he was involved in an accident, I don’t know anything about it. I guess you can ask the police who attended the accident. I’m again shocked Mr. Chikanza

SC: Thank you for response Mr Chikumbutso. What science is there in honouring this self confessing cash machine thief, conman and self confessing violent man, with the title, “prophet”? At a time we are hoping to peer review your inventions you have already assembled elements of honor for this conman? Please do respond elaborately because this is very confusing.

The Greener Power Machine was in Lorraine Drive (loosely and traditionally associated with Mabelreign) though in BluffHill. Why go for film producing, and not peer reviewing from critics and notable scientists in academia?

You are still silent on how you spend time at the vice-president’s home; is that part of your science or this is simply because you privately work for the man? Please clarify.

We are eagerly waiting to see your product, that is the car that you stated that it works perpetually without refuelling. I ask this because we see that the car that you displayed several years ago is now damaged and you have not been able to replicate even a bicycle using your advertised inventions.

Thank you for the response on the businessman Ginimbi’s death. The public would like to understand how you could be so close to the businessman and then now now you are suddenly so close to his enemy.

Another question relates to how you have suddenly become wealthy soon after the businessman’s death because before then you were living in the high density surbubs, but within a year of the business man’s death you have swung over to Bluff hill, and you are now spending private time at the vice-president’s enclosure. Have you ever asked him over the welfare of Ginimbi’s cousin, Marry Chiwenga he has violently dispossessed? Do you feel you are honouring Ginimbi by your conduct?

Fraudulent Scramble for Rhodes’ Estate

Cecil John Rhodes

State Media – Groups of people are scrambling for the multi-million-dollar estate left behind by a descendant of former colonialist Cecil John Rhodes amid reports that the Registrar of Companies has so far nullified a number of fraudulent CR14 forms filed by opportunists seeking to grab the companies.
This comes at a time when syndicates that identify idle properties left behind by deceased businesspeople of foreign origin and seek to fraudulently inherit them using forged documents are on the prowl.

Brian James Rhodes, who jointly owned Karoi Properties Pvt Ltd and Beverly East Properties with his wife Elizabeth, died in 2006 at the age of 75.

The companies own vast land in Harare’s Msasa area, along Mutare Road with structures.

They own stand numbers 184, 186, 188, 194 and 196 Mutare Road, an area that is dominated by car sales.

The elderly widow has since left for England, while five children are believed to be scattered across the world.

Mrs Rhodes has cried foul over attempts by some individuals to take over the companies and properties saying in the past 16 years, she never got a cent from the estate that rakes in up to US$21 000 in monthly rentals.

The property is in excess of four hectares and it is between the Management Training Bureau, Msasa, and the roundabout near Pick n Pay supermarket (popularly known as the Jaggers area).

Reputable companies are tenants on the land and they are paying rent to agents of the companies, although the ownership wrangle is still to be resolved.

Some have started resisting to pay rent, sparking disputes that have since spilled into the courts.

The unavailability of the Rhodes family members has seen different camps of Zimbabweans jostling to get a share from the estate.

A number of fraudulent CR14 forms have been filed at the Companies’ Registry by people who appointed themselves shareholders in Karoi Properties and Beverly East Properties with a view to grabbing the assets.

In some of the cases, former employees of the deceased and real estate companies tasked with management of the assets may take advantage of their proximity to the family and illegally take over the properties.

For close to two decades, different camps, including top police officers, have been fingered in fraudulent attempts to grab the company.

According to the deceased estate file DR 1426/10, Rhodes’ widow Elizabeth is believed to be in the United Kingdom, while his son Sean is believed to be in South Africa.

His daughters — Sharna Farquart and Larna Cruger — are believed to be in Australia, while the third daughter Bernice Kilburn is said to be in Zambia.

However, it remains unclear whether all the potential beneficiaries are still alive, considering the long drawn battle for control of their father’s assets.

Investigations by The Herald revealed that former top police officer Retired Commissioner Oliver Chibage and Retired Chief Superintendant Joel Tenderere were among those who filed fraudulent CR14 forms appointing themselves directors of the companies owned by Mr Rhodes.

The CR14 Form in question, has since been cancelled after Justice Joseph Musakwa ruled that Chibage, Tenderere and five others had imposed themselves as directors of Karoi Properties and Beverly East Properties in violation of the law.

Chibage and Tenderere were appointed directors together with former employees of the Rhodes family, Gideon Hwemende, Valentine Mushore, Alfred Chademana, Farai Mutizwa, and Calistor Vengesai.

In a court order dated 24 May 2016, Justice Musakwa nullified the seven’s directorship to the two companies.

“The appointment as directors of the first to seventh defendants in Beverly East Properties Pvt Ltd and Karoi Properties Pvt Ltd is illegal and the CR14 forms and all other statutory documents issued by 9th defendant (Registrar of Companies) confirming such appointments are null and void.

“The 9th defendant shall forthwith do all such things as are necessary to give effect to paragraph 1 above . . . ”

A check with the Companies Registry shows that a number of fraudulent CR14 forms were cancelled by the Registrar of Companies in compliance with the court order.

A copy of that order was placed in both company files as caveat to future transactions.

The Registrar of Companies also cancelled, with a red pen, another CR14 form filed by IE Vermaak dated July 5, 2012 where a set of five other people was appointed directors of Beverly Properties.

The five are: Lourence Erasmus Vermaak, Roselyn Sarudzai Hwemende, Munyaradzi Hwemende, Omega Sipani Hungwe and Terence Cobden Rhodes. -Herald

Chelsea Lose Sponsorship Deal?

United Kingdom mobile company 3, have suspended their sponsorship deal with Chelsea Football Club and asked their logo to be removed from the reigning European champions’ shirts.

The move comes barely 24 hours after the club’s owner, Roman Abromovic, was sanctioned by the UK government for his ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in the wake of the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

3 have a £40 million deal with the London club, and the company has requested for it to be suspended amid the crisis.

“In light of the government’s recently announced sanctions, we have requested Chelsea Football Club temporarily suspend our sponsorship of the club, including the removal of our brand from shirts and around the stadium until further notice,” 3 said in a statement.

“We recognise that this decision will impact the many Chelsea fans who follow their team passionately. However, we feel that given the circumstances, and the Government sanction that is in place, it is the right thing to do.

“As a mobile network, the best way we can support the people of Ukraine is to ensure refugees arriving in the UK from the conflict and customers currently in Ukraine can stay connected to the people who matter to them. Therefore, we are offering connectivity packages to all Ukrainians in the UK, and those in Ukraine.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Sad Scenario- Zimbabwean Footballers Use BronCleer: Top Coach

Bulawayo City coach Philani Ncube has claimed that 80% of Zimbabwean footballers abuse drugs, especially BroonCleer.

BronCleer is a cough syrup containing a combination of alcohol and codeine, which is now being abused by some youths in Zimbabwe and Ncube says football stars are no exception.

“I can tell you that almost 80 percent of Zimbabwean players are on drugs. I will not mention names but when we played Highlanders there was a player from their end who was clearly under the influence. He was just sleeping. I know for a fact that he takes drugs. Then you hear people saying the coach must go,” he told The Chronicle.

“The biggest problem is that some of the fans are selling these substances to the boys. Yet they are the same people you will hear saying Mandla Mpofu, Joey Antipas or Beefy must go,” added the outspoken coach.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Zanu PF Officials Clash Over Donations

Zaka Central Member of Parliament Davison Svuure left villagers shocked after he blocked food aid donations sourced by ward 13 councilor Manfred Mada meant to benefit villagers, claiming that he was the only one with the right to source such donations, a move some said is a bid to consolidate his position as the front runner for the 2023 harmonized elections.

Mada said Svuure went further to write a letter to the District Development Coordinator (DDC) Memory Dhliwayo dated February 22, 2022 instructing him to stop the donations.

“I however have reservations over the activities of one Tzuchi Foundation, an affiliate of Miriro Trust for which I apparently happen to be a Founding Board Member. I noted with concern as I have observed this organization being hijacked by Mr Manfred Mada, its local representative, and transformed into a campaign vehicle in pursuit of his political aspirations.

“Mr Mada happens to be the councilor for ward 13 in Zaka Central Constituency, a known political activist and an aspiring candidate for the forthcoming House of Assembly elections. Mr Mada coordinates the activities of Miriro Trust/Tzuchi Foundation and he has literally transformed this organization into a vehicle for his political expediency,” read part of the letter by Svuure.

The letter went on to stipulate that volunteers are being used as campaigners in different wards.

“I have seen the sprouting up of unsanctioned programmes across the constituency which initially started in wards 13 and 15 but now spreading to ward 19 and others. I have also noticed an establishment of campaign agents disguised as volunteers who have been set up in the above mentioned wards. Their real purpose has remained a guarded secret but they masquerade as community workers. This group of so called volunteers ironically now brooding discontent because of these recruits are of an antagonistic, vindictive and disloyal personality who are undoubtedly poised for a confrontation and have lately been causing problems especially on input distribution programmes, which have been characterized by looting, especially in ward 19,” the letter read.

However contacted for comment Davison Svuure said he had no comment over the issue.

“I have no comment on that. Besides, l have a way of addressing that and other issues that pertain people that vote for me like you say and I do not believe doing that through the press is the best,” said Svuure.

Mada said that Svuure was frustrated as villagers claimed that he has done nothing towards development of the constituency since he was elected MP.

“I have a donor named TzuChi Foundation from Taiwan, an organization which has a well signed MOU with the government that was giving the villagers rice and other things, so this frustrates MP Svuure as the villagers are complaining that he has done nothing towards development of the constituency as compared to me. This led him to write a letter to DDC blocking people from receiving food aid. When l tried to talk to the DDC she said she will not get involved because its politics,” said Mada.

Efforts to get a comment from Dhliwayo were fruitless until the time of publishing.

It is said that Mada is eying Zaka Central constituency come 2023 hence the clashes with Svuure.

This is not the first time the two have clashed as they once clashed in 2021 when councillors demanded accountability from Svuure for the 2020 Constituency Development Fund (CDF). It is reported that Svuure accused Mada of having no knowledge on how CDF works.- TellZim

We pledge to accomplish his unfinished business.

Namibia district salutes Mr Dube for his dedication to prosecute the yellow revolution to its logical conclusion. We urge all change champions to offer the much needed solidarity as we bury our hero. Lets all give the family the moral, material and financial support needed during these trying times. May your dear soul rest in power! Young People Reject Zanu PF Donations

Gutu – Benjamin Ganyiwa has allegedly taken back his donations of football kits and a grinding mill after Zanu PF youth in Gutu East Wards 13, 15 and 39 rejected them demanding jobs instead.

Ganyiwa is seeking to contest the 2023 elections on a Zanu PF ticket.

Ganyiwa refuted allegations that his kit was rejected by the youth, but confirmed that he took it back because there were some elements that wanted to use his gesture to tarnish his good name.

Sources said that the youth walked away after Ganyiwa offloaded the donations from his vehicle and told him that they needed jobs not footballs.

“The youths did not reject my donation. I made the kind gesture almost six months ago and I was shocked to discover that some of the youth I intended to help are greedy and wanted to keep the donations for themselves,” said Ganyiwa.

Zanu PF candidates have been known to offer food stuffs, footballs and other perishable commodities to the electorate ahead of elections.

Ganyiwa was infuriated by the youth and he took his donations to the Zinata area in Ward 13 which is his home area but the youths again refused his offer saying they need jobs.

Sources told The Mirror that, Ganyiwa lost patience and he finally took the donations to his home.

CCC Engagement Programme Brings Hope

Rocky Kamuzonda’s Community engagement program brings hope to ward 3 residents.

As Yellow submarine continues with its unstoppable push for a Great New Zimbabwe under President Chamisa, the same has hoovered downwards to the wards awaiting by elections on 26 March. In Masvingo Urban ward 3 CCC candidate the youthful and energetic Rocky Kamuzonda is tirelessly on a community engagement whereby he is interacting with residents one on one in a bid to hear what they expect and also giving out his pre-planned solutions to the plight of the ward. The move explains the CCC party principle and ideologies of putting the citizens first and ensuring a bottom up approach to developmental issues where by residents are active participants and decision makers. In his statement Rocky said he
“I want to hear from the citizens first so that they turn me am just a steering and hence getting into such an engagement to hear the citizen’s voice…”. The most interesting thing is that the engagement has encompassed all residents across the political divide, vendors ,civil servants, religious figures and pressure groups. One of the vendor at Chibase area had this to say “…waita mukoma ukauyawo kuzoona nekunzwa zvichemo zvedu tinoda kuwaniswa pekutengesera tisingadzingirirwi nemapurisa…”
Many issues arose from the residents some of which have for long been ignored.

In his bag of ideas the youthful candidate proved to have a smart vision that can tackle critical issues if he be elected into office. Being a natural mobiliser and a sociable simple carpenter Rocky brings no surprise if he wins from the way he listens and stays with residents including pastors, ghetto youths, sportsmen, business people and the disabled.

At Rocky’s residence one could assume that he is already a sitting councillor as residents flock to enjoy the company and discussion of burning social and economic issues with Rocky. With this level of sociable and humble character ward 3 is actually going to vote in such as their representative in Council.

The show by Rocky has left fellow contesting candidates with an egg on their faces as all of them are smarter, untouchable and natural fearful individuals who are too occupied to be with the residents. Some of them are pressed with personal business to the extent of not having time with the poor struggling residents.

Zanu pf candidate Taurai Bucho Mudzwiti stays in Target Kopge far away from ward 3. His successful business hasn’t been felt in ward 3 residents. He only appears on the spotlight during election time. At one Murra meeting Bucho immediately drove off which did not go well with residents who thought a bit of interaction with them was essential. Recently he went on a door to door campaign where he enjoyed much on taking selfies and pics with the same residents who bemoan that when elections are gone you can’t approach him nor see him mixing and mingling with the people. As for MDCA candidate Vembo he is quiet ,ignorant and a terrace sitting spectator who may not instill confidence of ever representing people or contributing in council.

Ngundu brought to a standstill as CCC holds its Constituency Yellow Rally

Ngundu Growth Point was today engulfed with joy and jubilation as Chivi South citizens welcomed the newly born baby CCC. The rally was well attended by scores of people who willing fully and voluntarily sacrificed their time and resources to be at the venue.

Hundreds of Chivi South citizens was treated to some good menu of the ear through music, song, dance and speeches. One interesting thing observed was the attendance of the elderly people who are in their 70s and 80s showing that Change is inevitable across all generations. The workaholic International Organizer Amos Chibaya being the main speaker went through the party’s vision and goals to be achieved in the forthcoming by elections and general elections. He reiterated the importance of voter registration and also voting CCC candidates from Councillors ,Mps to the President to allow smooth flow and operation of good governance in a new Great Zimbabwe.

The rally was also graced by National Women Assembly Champion Chairlady Hon Mugidho. Provincial leaders, ldr Ziki,Ldr Chidaushe,Miss Ndekere Mercy, yth L. Mapuranga and spokes Muswere were also in attendance.

Indeed the event was a shot on the forehead to Zanu pf which bussed people from as far as Bikita ,Mapanzure,Masvingo etc to attend a rally in Dare in the same constituency on the same day. Hundreds of people at CCC rally in Ngundu came through voluntarily from their pockets meanwhile Zanu pf used risky open trucks suitable for cattle and school buses commandeered to do the choke.

The atmosphere at Ngundu was also powered by the presence of former MPs and seasoned politicians as in the likes of Hon Chirume fomer gutu Mp,Hon Makamure fomer gutu east Mp,Heya Shoko fomer Bikita west Mp. Other Notable attendees were Provincial Admistrator M.Matutu, Mwenezi east candidate Hon Mandizvidza and the host Hon Mhlolo. Chivi South party leadership intactly got the program in line. Also not to be outspared were the vendors ,hwindis and travellers who resoundingly stopped over and ululated for the Yellow baby.

As per the party principle indeed the program resembled a Citizens thing that which they lay their hope and trust on. Zanu pf continues to panic as the yellow wave takes through to the rural folk of Chivi and Mwenezi with a bang.

Mwonzora Humiliated In Chinhoyi

By- MDC-T president Douglas Mwonzora was on Wednesday humiliated by people of Chinhoyi who did not turn up for his planned rally.

Police Bar CCC Marondera Rally

By- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has barred CCC from hosting its planned Marondera rally.

The police informed CCC representative in Marondera, Caston Matewu, that the rally cannot go ahead, saying the opposition part’s notification to hold the rally “does not fully comply with the requirements of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act Chapter 11:23.”
CCC had planned to stage its rally on Saturday at Rudhaka Open Grounds.

Mavaza: Was The Violence In Kwekwe Incited By Chiwenga?

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | After the address of a rally in Kwekwe by the honourable vice President Chiwenga the CCC made frantic calls to their British handlers complaining about the choice of words by the vice president. In actual fact they complained nit to ZEC or police but to Britain that the VP was inciting violence. Lord Oates then cried more than the bereaved and triggered a debate in the English parliament. The nature of the debate which was short of threats addressed to Zimbabwe were anchored on the semantics. Funny the British all of a sudden became masters of teaching us our shona idioms.

To make their complaint hold water the CCC created a violent provocative incident which ended in one person losing his life. If the truth is to said the incident was created literally provoked to get the results needed.

If at all sixteen spear and machete wielding men attacking thousands of unsuspecting rally attendees there would have been total bloodshed. Hundred would have been injured and we would have had thousands of deaths. This was a stage managed event which went wrong.

Linking this incident to Chiwenga’s speech is a desperate move to soil the peaceful stage presented by the new dispensation. The new dispensation has presented a healthy democratic space and indeed the outbursts by the British legislators was misguided
Lord Oates did not know whether the words attibuted to the VP were said by him. For the sake of responding I will assume his informers Tweeted him such.
In their very nature and essence the words refer to crushing of a political party the CCC. That is what was expressly said. What angered the British legislatures is that their baby was to be crushed.
If you want to see who owns a puppet just touch it you will see the owner howling from a distance but very loudly.

There is a world of difference between crushing members of a party and crushing the party. Making an idiom a barometer of democracy and a rule of law is pathetic and desperate.
It may, in a certain context, be appropriate to interpret alluding to crushing members of another party to imply violence where the context allows the interpretation. However, to import the same interpretation to crushing a political party is preposterous, to say the least.

Crushing a party, on the face of it, simply means totally out-smarting it with political ideas, making it irrelevant. It means beating it resoundingly in elections and making it extinct. This is what frightened Lord Oates and howling started.

The VP Chiwenga had a right to assert that his party will out-wit, out-smart and out-do CCC. In fact he has history on his side to support this. Where is MDC now in all its formations as a political party? Where are the parties that contested the last elections? Where are their political leaders? Were they not crushed like flies? Was there any violence in rendering them obsolete.

It is astonishing how a politician in a distant continent can impose, out of context, an adverse meaning and out of context, on a political speech.

Here is a case where a person , the VP is mischievous judged without being given the opportunity to explain or to hear his own side.

Political debate is robust in any country. It is not for the faint-hearted. If politicians resort to tiptoeing, then there is no way of exposing those who are fake.
The violence and loss of life must be condemned in the strongest of terms. Our hearts goes out to the families and friends of the deceased.

No one must use a tragic event to score cheap political points. There is no link between the actions of the killers and the remarks of the VP directed at a political party.

It is sad that each time there are elections in Zimbabwe some political parties in the UK and US forgets that they are not Zimbabweans. They chose to have a debate on an election campaign. This is total external interference which must never be allowed.
Zimbabwean opposition politicians must learn to be united outside the borders of our political space and indeed fight internally. It does not make sense as opposition members to try and destroy the country only because you are losing in elections.
Conveniently Lord Oates did not mention violence perpetrated by the drunken CCC youth in Gokwe. He conveniently did not see the violence spread in Kwekwe by the CCC.
He did not find it necessary to condemn the violence which was urged by Bvondo and Chamisa on the podium.
To the British Parliament violence is only deplorable if it is believed to be coming from ZANU PF. If ZANU PF is on the receiving end no one finds it bad.
Zimbabwe is not a colony of the UK anymore.

Zanu PF Holds Car Rally As Police Block Chamisa’s Marondera Meeting

By-Zanu PF supporters on Friday brought business to a standstill in Marondera as they moved in a car rally, with the ZRP seemingly unbothered.

CCC had planned to stage its rally tomorrow at Rudhaka Open Grounds.

Mwonzora Aborts Poorly Attended Rally

By- MDC-T president Douglas Mwonzora, on Wednesday aborted his Chinhoyi planned rally after realising that there were no people in attendance.

Mwonzora then accused Zanu PF and CCC of planning to unleash violence against his supporters at the aborted rally Chinhoyi.

AUDIO: Maxwell Chikumbutso On Plan To Replace Nelson Chamisa With Uebert Angel | INTERVIEW

Good evening sir.

ZimEye

Hello Mukoma Simba.

Chikanza

Thank you for response Mr Chikumbutso.

Why go for film producing, and not peer reviewing from critics and notable scientists in academia?

jh

Bulawayo Man Runs Amok After Catching Wife Pants Down

By- Residents in Maphisa were treated to free and unrehearsed reality street theatre on Tuesday last week when a jilted man busted his wife in the act in her car with her boyfriend at 3am outside a supermarket.

The angry man, Tendai Phiri (47) tried to open the car doors but failed as his wife, Perseverance Ndlovu (31) and her secret lover had locked the doors. He then picked up stones and smashed the car windows.

The wife tried to drive away but failed as a crowd that had been attracted by the fracas inadvertently blocked her escape route.

Phiri stopped himself from assaulting the cheating couple as he was embarrassed.

Maphisa residents says Perseverance is a serial cheater and is well known in Maphisa for straying from her marital bed. Phiri is said to be a long-suffering husband who always forgives his adulterous wife whenever he catches her cheating.
But this time he is reeling from the latest betrayal because the last time he caught her cheating, she had promised him that she would mend her ways.
“The husband got wind that his wife was cheating on him because we have been hearing a lot of stories about multiple occasions when the husband has been catching his wife cheating but keeps on forgiving her because after the incidents you would see them back to normal again leading a happy couple life.
This time it seems he was angry that’s why he got violent because we know him from Zion Church, he is not known for violence,” said a source close to the goings on.
In an interview, Phiri said he was very furious the night he caught his wife of eight years cheating but was now willing to forgive her as he loves her a lot.
“It’s very painful to find someone you love cheating on you, it makes you wonder where you go wrong and what you lack, but when you love someone you always feel like forgiving her.
I have forgiven her from the bottom of my heart. I wish things could go back to normal because I really love my wife despite her flops but I think we really need counselling after what has happened to us,” he said.
Phiri has repaired the damage he inflicted on his wife’s car as a sign that he was ready to work things out. But Perseverance is still to return home and seems unwilling to work on her marriage. Whenever Phiri calls her, she tells him that she is not ready to talk.
Perseverance said she had no comment on what happened. “I have nothing to say on whatever happened. What has happened has happened, it can’t be reversed,” she said. B Metro

Spirit Medium Dies Of Bees Attack

Driver Dies In Chipinge Horror Hearse Crash

By- A driver transporting a corpse for burial in Checheche, Chipinge was on Sunday involved in a horror crash that killed the driver on the spot

.Mr Stephan Gwatidzo, who was on his way from Shamva, was driving the hearse when he was involved in an accident along Ngundu-Tanganda Road in the wee hours of Sunday.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the accident.
“The driver of the hearse, Mr Stephan Gwatidzo of Harare, was driving a Toyota Hilux truck along the Ngundu-Tanganda Road carrying a corpse. He was heading to Checheche for the burial of the deceased.
“Upon reaching the 245km peg, he lost control of the vehicle and it swerved to the right before overturning. Mr Gwatidzo was thrown out of the vehicle, sustained head injuries and died on the spot. The body that was being transported did not sustain any injuries and was later taken to Chanda Village for burial,” said Asst Insp Chinyoka.
“We continue to urge motorists to exercise extra caution on the roads by adhering to road traffic rules,” he added.
Witnesses who arrived at the scene a few minutes after the accident told The Manica Post that the funeral services company reacted swiftly after the incident which occurred near Nyautsa River in Middle Sabi.
Said Mr Reketayi Mahachi: “I was in a ZUPCO bus which was coming from Checheche and when we approached Nyautsa River in Middle Sabi around 3am only to realise that the hearse had overturned.
The driver of the hearse was already dead. Other passengers informed the police at Middle Sabi Police Station.
It did not take long for the police and another hearse to arrive and pick up the coffin from the accident scene. The coffin was partially damaged,” said Mr Mahachi.
The incident comes hardly three weeks after another hearse carrying a Honde Valley man, Mr Caleb Mapaya, was involved in a freaky accident that left his corpse defaced.
Mr Mapaya’s coffin was broken into pieces, leaving the corpse laying on the ground.
His widow, Mrs Cecilia Chingaya-Mapaya who was seated next to the driver of the hearse, was thrown out of the vehicle and trapped underneath.
She was rushed to Hauna District Hospital but later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the Harare-based funeral services vehicle, Mr Chatadza, is said to have lost control of the Mitsubishi Colt double cab, resulting in the vehicle veering off the road. Manica Post

Mwonzora Admits Failing To Field Candidates For By-Elections

We Need Jobs Not Balls, Gutu Youths Reject Zanu PF Donations

“Zanu Pf Attracts The Majority”: Dr Masimba Mavaza

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | Zimbabweans all over the world were shocked to hear Lord Johnny Oates, Liberal Democrats, in parliament on behalf of Baroness Katey Hoey stating that Zimbabwe is in a systematic attack on rule of law and human rights.

Dr Masimba Mavaza

The Lord J Oates zeroed on the statement issued by the vice president of Zimbabwe retired General CDN Chiwenga. Comrade Chiwenga had said addressing thousands of ZANU PF supporters that ZANU PF will crush the CCC in the coming bi-elections like the way we crush a lice on a rock. Cde Chiwenga went on to say the CCC will be crushed until there is nothing left even the flies will not find anything to eat.
The opposition took that to mean that ZANU PF will be engaging in violence. It was the Twitter by Hopeless Chin’ono which was responded to by Lord Oates.

Lord Oats and many British parliamentarians as usual tried very hard to expose their ignorance of Zimbabwean languages. Without understanding the meaning of the idiom used the confused Lord jumped to a conclusion and lambasted Zimbabwe on human rights.

The poor Lord is the one who is inciting violence against ZANU PF and his utterances were unfortunate and misleading. These were the submissions of a Lord with an agenda. We need to understand what is called an idiom. An idiom is a phrase or expression that typically presents a figurative, non-literal meaning attached to the phrase; but some phrases become figurative idioms while retaining the literal meaning of the phrase. Categorized as formulaic language, an idiom’s figurative meaning is different from the literal meaning.Idioms occur frequently in all languages; in English alone there are an estimated twenty-five thousand idiomatic expressions.

It is a wonder how the honourable Lord fails to understand that what the vice president said was an idiom. Because the Lord wanted to paint Zimbabwe with a wrong brush leaped at the idiom and tries to lecture Zimbabweans on their own language.

Idiom is normally a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words An idiom is a phrase or expression that typically presents a figurative, non-literal meaning attached to the phrase; but some phrases become figurative idioms while retaining the literal meaning of the phrase. Categorized as formulaic language, an idiom’s figurative meaning is different from the literal meaning. So for the Lord to reinvent the Shona language is laughable and embarrassing.

Lord Oates must understand that an idiom is a commonly used expression whose meaning does not relate to the literal meaning of its words.Figurative language includes the use of metaphors, similes, personification, hyperbole, euphemisms, and pun.It is a well-noted observation that non-native speakers can “understand the first meaning but not the second. So the Lord as a non-native speaker maybe excused but what makes his utterances unforgivable is the fact that he has never meant good for Zimbabwe. His intentions are pregnant with evil and malice pre planned.

Essentially, this is a warning that Lord Oats conveniently misunderstood the idiom which makes perfect sense given that idioms – by definition – don’t mean what their words mean).

An idiom is a saying or expression that says one thing literally but means something else when explored in context.
An idiom is an expression that takes on a figurative meaning when certain words are combined, which is different from the literal definition of the individual words.
This confusion in language exposes efforts by foreign entities to influence domestic elections.

This evil has shaken democracies around the world. The use of propaganda and misinformation to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries is not new, but events since last week have heightened awareness of how changes in social media platforms, political norms, and campaign financing rules have enabled foreign actors to influence elections on an unprecedented scale.

In this short submissions by Lord Oates shows that our thinking is governed by language which reflects an earlier mode of thought. Important analytical problems are in large measure obscured by the use of words which imply anthropomorphic or personalised explanations of social institutions. Serious and research by Lord should have vitiated by the ambiguity of some of key terms, which for lack of more precise ones we have constantly to use. This would have put the paranoia mind of the Lord to rest.

Zimbabwe has always been attacked by foreign electoral interventions. Foreign electoral interventions are attempts by governments, covertly or overtly, to influence elections in another country.

British law addresses an even more foundational question: why, exactly, does the country committed to free speech and robust public debate indulge in foreign participation in other country’s democratic discussion? Even though there are laws prohibiting foreign influence in domestic elections are ubiquitous and increasing, but the underlying reasons for them are not always clear, especially when such laws target the distribution of information directly to the public. Such laws are not readily explained by any of the common justifications used in interfering in other country’s democratic process. In an increasingly globalized world, foreign political interference is a growing threat to democratic systems of government.

The United Kingdom and America have shown their stubborn zeal to control the political land scape of Zimbabwe. Every election Zimbabwe does the United Kingdom will put its ugly dirty nose sniffing all over the electoral process of Zimbabwe.

Despite the re engagement efforts being fronted by President ED MNANGAGWA the UK has shown him a middle finger.
The cruel fact of democracy is that those you do not want are the ones who attract the majority.

ZANU PF attracts the majority and it has done this for over forty two years.

The utterances of Lord Oaths are unfortunate and seriously embarrassing. Considering that they have misfired and missed the target their intentions against Zimbabwe are satanic diabolic and evil.

By-elections are coming in two weeks time the Lord Oates and his backers have realised that their person is heading for a loss so they start lambasting Zimbabwe in order to agitate the electorate.

Lord Oates must realise that Zimbabwe is no longer a colony of the Uk.

Coffin Drama In The CBD

By- There was drama in Harare’s central business district (CBD) on Tuesday when mourners sought to take the body of a regular patron into the bar for an emotional send off.

The body of Norman Murengwe was paraded outside City Sports Bar along Kaguvi Street which he frequented.

Murengwe, popularly known as Nomara, died on Saturday after being hit by a car in Ruwa.

When the hearse arrived in a convoy, some of the deceased’s friends paraded the coffin along Kaguvi Street. They later took it to the entrance of the bar.

Their intention was to take the coffin into the bar but one of the joint’s managers, Harpers Mapimhidze, intervened and blocked them.

“No guys, you can’t take the coffin inside the club,” he pleaded. “Please, I think this is enough.”

The men, who were carrying the coffin, pleaded with Harpers, who repeatedly turned down their request.

They continued with their parade, which blocked traffic, after the coffin was briefly put on the road.

According to one of the people who were part of the team which paraded the coffin, Murengwe was a mechanic, operating along Kaguvi Street.

He would, however, spend most of his spare time, drinking with his friends, in that pub.
“We know Nomara and he was one of our regular clients,” said Harpers.

He was one of the guys who worked along Kaguvi Street, but would spend most of his time with us here.

“We couldn’t allow the coffin into the bar. I turned down the request. He used to spend a lot of his time in the City Sports Bar. So, his friends requested to parade the coffin here, and we accepted.

“We also participated in the parade and we are sorry to family, and friends, for the loss.”

Nomara was laid to rest in Goromonzi yesterday. H Metro

Marriages Bill- Lobola Debate Continues

By A Correspondent- The Marriages Bill was passed by the National Assembly this Wednesday following amendments to a clause on payment of lobola.

The legislation initially passed the National Assembly in 2020 but Senate objected to the clause on lobola.

Traditional leaders in Senate, led by the Chiefs Council president, Chief Fortune Charumbira, objected to a clause that said payment of lobola could not be regarded as a barrier in solemnising marriage between two consenting adults if they satisfy other requirements of the law.

The traditional leaders said lobola was a fundamental pillar in customary unions.

They shot down the bill and was sent back to the National Assembly for amendments.

There was a debate on social media when the Bill passed the National Assembly in 2020 with some saying lobola should be scrapped totally.

Proponents of this reasoning argued that men were using lobola to abuse women in Marriages.

Conservatives objected saying lobola was a necessity for uniting families.

Others said while lobola was not a bad thing, families are now abusing it, taking their daughters as business commodities thereby defeating the essence of the process.

The new amendments allow marriage officers, who include traditional leaders solemnising customary unions in their own areas to ask parties to marriage whether or not lobola has been paid.

The amendments also provide that a marriage officer in a customary union cannot solemnise unions where couples had stayed together for less than five years.

Meanwhile, there is no law that compels Zimbabwean men to pay lobola (bride price) to their in-laws and the arrangement can only be done with the consent of both parties.-statemedia

Mozambique Braces For Tropical Storm Gombe

By A Correspondent- Tropical Storm Gombe is likely to make landfall at Nampula Province’s coastal district of Mossuril on Friday morning, Mozambican meteorological authorities warned on Thursday.

Tropical Storm Gombe is moving at a speed between 120 to 165 kilometres per hour.

Its impact is predicted to be much stronger than the tropical storm Ana that hit the region in January, according to Lelo Tayob, a meteorologist from the National Institute of Meteorology.

Speaking at a provincial session of the Emergency Operational Committee held in Nampula, Tayob said:

At this moment, the system has already turned into a tropical cyclone and is already very close to the waters off our coast, towards the province of Nampula, and according to the forecasts, everything indicates that the district of Mossuril will be the entry point.

The National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction on Wednesday warned that 77 bridges, 2 058 schools and 192 health unities in the central and northern region of the country could be affected by the cyclone.

Authorities’ response to imminent disaster

18 boats, food and non-food items have been positioned in strategic locations to provide immediate assistance if necessary.

Domestic flights of the national airline LAM to central, northern regions have also been cancelled.-Xinhua

Gvt Hits Back At Absconding Teachers

By A Correspondent- Teachers unions yesterday pleaded with the government not to bar some of their members from conducting census because they failed to report for duty on school opening day last month citing incapacitation.

Early this week, the Primary and Secondary Education ministry ordered the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStats) not to consider “striking” teachers for the 2022 census exercise scheduled for April 7 to 30.

Teachers will be drafted in for the exercise when schools close on April 7. The assignment comes with allowances, which for the poorly-paid teachers are a shot in the arm.

According to government, 54,6% of the country’s 150 000 teachers were at work by February 16 after schools opened on February 7, meaning around 82 000 educators are ineligible for census duties.

Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe secretary-general Raymond Majongwe said the decision on who to employ should be made by ZimStats.

“As far as I am concerned, it is up to ZimStats to choose who it wants to employ because this responsibility should not be based on any precedence,” he said.

Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (Artuz) president Obert Masaraure said the move exposed “government’s disregard for teachers’ welfare”.

“The retribution will demoralise teachers and further cripple the education sector.  You cannot punish teachers who declared incapacitation by denying them other sources of income.

“Government is encouraged to sober up and act responsibly. If it escalates repression, we will be forced to escalate the fight for a living wage,” he said.

Around 50 school heads and 32 teachers were suspended after failing to report for duty, citing incapacitation.

The Artuz boss added: “We have gathered intelligence that the system has vowed to punish Artuz members. Given this context, it is clear that we have a responsibility to make the employer choose between concession and escalated repression. To date, we have made a concession that our teachers report for duty twice a week, we expect the employer to make one concession, just allowing our members to work for those two days without facing harassment,” he said.

Primary and Secondary Education ministry spokesperson Taungana Ndoro denied the harassment allegations.

“We have not harassed anyone, we have not victimised anyone. Let them implement a comprehensive response strategy in enhancing the provision of accessible, affordable, quality, relevant, inclusive and wholesome education for all Zimbabweans,” Ndoro said.

On the ZimStats issue, Ndoro said:  “Teachers can make their recommendations, but the ministry makes policies. Government maintains that teachers who were not reporting for duty will not take part in the census.”

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Teachers Association (Zimta) on Wednesday filed an urgent chamber application at the High Court seeking and interdict to render suspension of teachers null and void.

It cited Primary and Secondary Education minister Evelyn Ndlovu and the Public Service Commission as first and second respondents.-newsday

Bread, Mealie-meal Prices Rise

By A Correspondent- The recent increase in the prices of fuel has triggered a massive hike in the prices of most basic commodities.

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority on Wednesday increased fuel prices for the second time in five days, with petrol going up from US$1,51 per litre to US$1,67 and diesel from US$1,51 per litre to US$1,68.

Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers president Denford Mutashu implored government to focus on internal alternatives through sourcing and production to curtail the negative economic reflex effect triggered by the Russo-Ukraine war.

“We should brace for price increases on basic and non-essential products as the global geopolitics play out triggered by the Russia-Ukraine war. It is high time we focus on internal alternatives through domestic sourcing and production. Prices of fuel and gas are set to remain unstable for the unforeseeable future although there is relief from the intervention of the Arab world that has committed to increase production and supply of crude oil.”

This came as Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara announced increases in bread and mealie-meal prices in response to increases in the prices of maize and flour.

Musarara said the price of maize increased from $43 000 to $50 000 per metric tonne, while the flour price also went up by 14,74% to $136 544 per metric tonne.

“The maize meal retail price for 10kg roller meal will increase by 15% from $955 to $1 099.

“Bread flour will move up by 14,74% from $119 000 to $136 544 per metric tonne,” Musarara said.

He said the surge in fuel prices had impacted their operating costs.

Musarara said the wheat landing price had surged from US$475 to US$675.

“The upward trend was anticipated to continue on the back of the disturbances in east Europe. Wheat constitutes 30% to 42% of the cost of bread.

“The government-sponsored wheat farming programmes have recorded the highest yield since the commencement of wheat farming in Zimbabwe. However, the war in Ukraine has greatly affected dynamics, leading to the price increases,” Musarara said.

The country is currently consuming 16 000 metric tonnes of bread flour monthly, and approximately 1,2 million loaves a day.

Demand for bread is expected to increase as aggregate demand improves, owing to the removal of COVID-19-induced lockdowns.

“The 2021 local winter wheat harvest saved the country US$146 million. This proves to be a profitable import substitution transaction. However, the country will need to import 155 000 metric tonnes of wheat to mitigate the variance between local production and national demand,” he said.

Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries president Kurai Matsheza said the increase in food prices was a serious cause for concern.

“This is not good for our economy. Fuel touches every sector, therefore, there will be inflation because of these exogenous factors coming so early in the year. The forecast year end numbers (inflation, gross domestic product (GDP) growth) are almost certain to be missed. The increase in fuel prices will trigger a cycle of price increases across all products and services. The disinflation we were experiencing will certainly be reversed. Food price increases are a worry for all. Wage demands will intensify and poverty levels will increase. 2022 looks certain to be bad for all of us.”

Former finance minister Tendai Biti said:  “The price hikes will have a drastic impact on consumers and will erode their finances.”-newsday

Zanu Pf Blames Opposition For Binga Underdevelopment

By A Correspondent- Zanu-PF Matabeleland North provincial chairpersonan Richard Moyo has blamed the opposition for derailing the development of Binga during the 20 years the area was under MDC MPs.

Addressing a rally in Sikalenge ward 6, Binga North on Thursday, Ndlovu said: “It is Zanu-PF which is the ruling party that can only bring development in Binga.

“Vote for the Zanu-PF candidate, Kudakwashe Munsaka, a person who talks action to bring development here.”

Moyo said Zanu-PF was “fully  aware of the problems in Binga and Munsaka clearly briefed us”.

“We are now rectifying this. Binga is 20 years behind  in terms of development because of the opposition. We have been voting for an opposition which does not govern. We have a chance to correct that due to the recall of Dubeko Sibanda (Citizens Coalition for Change candidate). Who has ever failed a correction? We should get this right on March 26,” Moyo added.

By-elections will be held on March 26 and candidates from different political parties are all promising to develop one of the country’s poorest districts.

The  Binga North seat fell vacant after the recall of Sibanda from Parliament in October 2020 by the Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC-T.

In the past years, Binga has been one of the leading districts in receiving donor support in Matabeleland.

Most households in Binga survive on hand-outs from the donor community.

Speaking at the same meeting, Zanu-PF secretary for administration Obert Mpofu also appealed for a change in voting trends.

Mpofu said the government was eager to work with the people of Binga.

“No opposition will ever rule Zimbabwe. Personally, I cannot be removed by an opposition party and what of a ruling party,” Mpofu said.-Newsday

Pig Heart Transplant Patient Dies

By A Correspondent- The first person to receive a heart transplant from a pig has died, two months after the groundbreaking experiment, the Maryland hospital that performed the surgery announced Wednesday.

David Bennett, 57, died Tuesday at the University of Maryland medical center.

Doctors didn’t give an exact cause of death, saying only that his condition had begun deteriorating several days earlier.

Bennett’s son praised the hospital for offering the last-ditch experiment, saying the family hoped it would help further efforts to end the organ shortage.

“We are grateful for every innovative moment, every crazy dream, every sleepless night that went into this historic effort,” David Bennett Jr said in a statement released by the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

“We hope this story can be the beginning of hope and not the end.”

Doctors for decades have sought to one day use animal organs for life-saving transplants.

Bennett, a handyman from Hagerstown, Maryland, was a candidate for this newest attempt only because he otherwise faced certain death ineligible for a human heart transplant, bedridden and on life support, and out of other options – Guardian

Mwonzora Cancels Chinhoyi Rally Over Small Crowd

By A Correspondent- MDC-T leader, Douglas Mwonzora was Wednesday forced to cancel his rally in Chinhoyi after it turned out to be a monumental flop with just a handful of people turned in attendance.

The Chinhoyi fiasco becomes another embarrassment for the opposition leader who has attracted small numbers at his rallies since campaigns for the March 26 by-elections started.

The few people who turned up for the Chinhoyi rally spent the better part of Wednesday afternoon milling at Chinhoyi Hall in Gadzema township, where they waited in vain for Mwonzora who was in no-show.

Some distributed campaign flyers to vendors and pedestrians at Gadzema bus terminus to kill time.

The supporters, numbering less than 30, were dismissed around 3pm by aspiring Chegutu West legislator, Gift Konjana following a brief address in the empty hall.

Later, a low-key meeting between Mwonzora and MDC Alliance candidates in the March 26 by-elections was held at former Chinhoyi deputy mayor and aspiring Ward 3 councillor, Willie Nyambe’s house.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Mwonzora downplayed the aborted rally, saying the Chinhoyi Hall event was “only a logistics meeting in preparation of Sunday’s star rally at Zimbabwe Grounds in Harare,”

The meeting, he added, had to be moved to Nyambe’s house as provincial and district executives, who were supposed to attend failed to pitch up because of communication glitches.

He accused Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) and Zanu-PF activists of threatening to disrupt the scheduled public meeting.

“We couldn’t hold our public meeting due to security issues as Zanu-PF and CCC members were milling around the venue. We don’t want to be drawn into violence, bloody, name-calling and hate politics, so we have had to cancel the meeting. We didn’t want our members victimised,” he claimed.

“I want to publicly appeal to our political opponents to desist from provoking MDC. We are urging people to campaign peacefully. Our strategy in these by-elections is to know the real voters, and we are not interested in crowds.”

He added: “The MDC is focused that’s why you will be shocked by the resounding victory in the coming by-elections. Other parties are like bullfrogs in the middle of the road that bulge to seem big when they see approaching objects.

“Zanu-PF and CCC are merely showing off. They are behaving like peacocks; we don’t do that. These are just by-elections and it’s naive to bus people from across Zimbabwe to a specific ward where there is a by-election. This is self-delusion.”

MDC, Mwonzora reiterated, had vast experience in electoral processes and would shock opponents with its people-centric strategies.

Guns Recovered At Journalist’s Home Taken To The Forensics And Ballistics Unit

By A Correspondent- The five guns recovered following the arrest of one of the country’s notorious armed robbers, Clever Mununudzi Nengomasha, who was shot and seriously injured in a skirmish with police in Harare, have been taken to the CID Forensics and Ballistics Unit for testing.

Following his arrest, police recovered the five guns and ammunition hidden at a Waterfalls house belonging to journalist, Xolisani Ncube.

Investigations revealed that Nengomasha, alias Paul Simon Chitakura, is related to Ncube (35) who is a Zimbabwe correspondent for South African media organisation, NewzRoom Afrika.

The two, who have since appeared in court, are still in custody as investigations continue.

Nengomasha has various armed robbery cases dating back to early 2000. He is presently under police guard at a local hospital after he was shot and seriously injured on the thigh during the shootout in Waterfalls.

Following his arrest, police who were acting on a tip-off on Nengomasha’s whereabouts, then recovered two .22 Bruno rifles, a .357 Magnum revolver, a .38 Special Taurus Revolver, a 7.65mm Vzor pistol and 10 x 3,57mm rounds of ammunition, five x 9x19mm rounds of ammunition and 6×7,65mm rounds of ammunition hidden at Ncube’s house.

Sources close to the investigations said the guns were taken to the Forensics and Ballistics Unit for testing, to ascertain whether they had been used to commit other crimes or not.

The Forensics and Ballistics Unit is a highly specialised technical unit of the Zimbabwe Republic Police whose function is to aid police investigations through analysing exhibits and giving expert conclusive evidence on crime scenes.

Ncube was arrested  last Thursday after he failed to produce firearm certificates of the recovered firearms. Some of the guns had erased serial numbers. Police said some of the guns were stolen during an armed robbery in the city, in which a man lost various firearms and cash to criminals who had raided his house last year.

Two of the suspects were later arrested and then implicated Nengomasha.

Police then raided Ncube’s house and recovered the firearms.

Nengomasha has been on the police wanted list on several occasions and had been known mostly for hiding in South Africa.

In 2013, Nengomasha and his accomplices Peace Mutema alias Batista who is now late, and another one only identified as Mudzingwa, were once wanted for a spate of armed robberies in Harare and Bulawayo.

Ncube has been implicated in one of the armed robbery cases which occurred on February 2 this year at around 0730 hours in Sunridge, Harare where him, and his two accomplices who are already in remand and two others who are still at large, are alleged to have hatched a plan to rob a family.

They are reported to have armed themselves with an unidentified pistol and went to confront the complainant who had opened the kitchen door. Before force-marching him into his bedroom.

Police said they tied the complainant’s hands from behind using shoelaces and ordered him to lie on the floor before demanding cash.

The complainant surrendered US$3 050, a .22 Bruno rifle, another .22 Bruno rifle, a .357 Ubreti-Cadrone rifle, a smart watch before attempting to drive off the man’s car, a white Nissan Hardbody 2.7 they failed to start.

They then opened the vehicle’s bonnet and stole its battery before leaving the scene.

Police said following his arrest, Ncube led to the recovery of the stolen guns and all the suspects were captured on the closed circuit television (CCTV) during the commission of the crime.

Total value stolen is US$4 130 and value recovered is US$150.

Passengers Fatally Assault Mercedes Benz Driver

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported the death of a motorist who fell on the tarmac after being assaulted by passengers aboard a lorry after he had a misunderstanding with the driver of that lorry.

Police say the incident happened on the 7th of March 2022 around 1930 hours.

The deceased was driving a white Mercedes Benz, AFM 7476, along Bulawayo Road near National Sports Stadium, Harare.

PZRP said following the misunderstanding, some passengers in the lorry assaulted the victim with open hands and fists. The victim fell on the tarmac and was rushed to Sally Mugabe Hospital where he died upon admission.

Mwonzora’s Chinhoyi Rally Flops

Mavaza: Zimbabwe Under Attack Again

Patrons Take Coffin To Popular Harare Bar

H Metro

Chinhoyi Humiliates Mwonzora

10 March 2022

Wezhira Munya

MDC T president Mwonzora’s political fortunes nose dive. Yesterday, MDC T Mwonzora held a poorly attended star rally in Chinhoyi . Only 22 people attended this star rally that was meant to drum up support for 26th March 2022, by elections.

(See picture above with few people attending Mwonzora’s rally yesterday and hear Mwonzora on video explaining why they were few people at his star rally yesterday)

The star rally was help in the hall.

Chinhoyi rally is the lowest turn out of Mwonzora’s provincial star rallies with 22 people from the entire province.

Mwonzora commenting on studio 7 on rally poor turn out in Chinhonyi, he said, ” We (MDC T) are not bothered by large numbers of people attending our rallies because we are campaigning for by elections and these are not general elections”

From above statement by Mwonzora, one may deduce that, firstly, Mwonzora does not want his candidates to win by elections. One cannot win elections without support and support is shown by large numbers of people who attend rallies.

Secondly, Mwonzora is selfish, he only wants large numbers during harmonised elections when he will participating as MDC T presidential candidate.

Those who follow Mwonzora’s rallies noted that, Mwonzora held his star rally in Zororo grounds and 300 people attended.

Then he solved to hold his rallies in small community halls in Bulawayo, Gweru and Marondera where less than 100 people attended each rally. Mwonzora experienced no intimidation as his rallies and ZRP allowed him to bus people.

One MDC T senior leader who refused to be named said, “There low turn out at MDC T is due to serious factionalism , narrative that MDC T is Zanu PF proxy, poor planning, candidate imposition and anger towards Mwonzora who recalled elected representatives without consulting electorate.”

In contrast, President Nelson Chamisa is pulling largest crowds in his provincial rallies. In Harare, President Chamisa addressed approximately
60 000; Gokwe 25 000; Kwekwe 40 000, Bulawayo 38 000 and Gweru 45 000. These largest crowds attended rallies despite police intimidate, Zanu PF violence and ZRP denied President Chamisa to bus his supporters.

Just like Mwonzora, Zanu PF experienced poor rally turn out in Tsholotsho. Zanu PF president Mnangagwa had to deploy his deputy Mohadi to address this poorly attended rally. However, Zanu PF had bused bumper crowds in Harare and other areas.

MDC T under Mwonzora is in intensive care and 26th March 2022 , l foresee MDC T dying and burial will be on 27th March 2022, when election results will be announced.

Grace Mugabe Team Endorses President Chamisa

By a Correspondent- A Zanu PF faction that opposes Emmerson Mnangagwa, G40, says it would support the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change President Nelson Chamisa to take over power in 2023.

One of the G40 bosses, Walter Mzembi posted on his Twitter handle this week:

Zanu PF hates G40 to the extent it wouldn’t care less about handing over power to

@CCC

but on that we shall converge as G40 was never about partisanship but generational transfer of power , so sisonke!

CCC Dupes Zimbabweans Saying “Zanu PF Won’t Rig 2023 Elections”

indepth...Wilbert Mukori

By Wilbert Mukori | Mankind is supposed to be a creature of reason, of rational behaviour and can think. In Zimbabwe many of us have taken leave of their senses and rational thinking and hence the reason the country has blundered from pillar to post these last 42 years!

indepth...Wilbert Mukori
indepth…Wilbert Mukori

Ask anyone of the 40 000 Zimbabweans who attended Nelson Chamisa’s CCC Mkoba rally in Gweru, for example, what changes they expected from Chamisa and each would have produce a list a mile long. With the economy in total meltdown, unemployment rates a nauseating 90%, basic services such as education and health care all but collapse, etc.; the wish list is bound to be long!

The rally attendees know that before Chamisa can attend to their problems, he must first wrestle political power from Emmerson Mnangagwa and his ruling party, Zanu PF party – something the opposition have so far failed to do.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect MDC leaders (the forerunner of CCC before Chamisa changed the party name and colours in January 2022) on the understanding the party will deliver the democratic changes necessary to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. MDC, Movement for Democratic Change, as the party name implied was supposed to deliver the democratic changes the nation has been dying for.
Sadly, after 22 years, 5 of which in the 2008 to 2013 GNU, MDC leaders have failed to implement even one token democratic change. Not a sausage!
Ask anyone of those CCC rally attendees to name just one democratic change the party has brought in the last 22 years, and you will be greeted with thousands upon thousands of blank faces. The blank faces are an echo of the empty heads!

However, if one was to ask the 40 000 rally attendees to name just one change MDC had delivered in the last 22 years, 5 of which in the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Not even one would answer because there is not even one meaningful change MDC have delivered. 40 000 blank faces a reflection of the empty head!
At all these CCC rallies Nelson Chamisa has made the usual empty promises of fixing the nation’s economic and political problems including the all important and critical problem of stopping Zanu PF rigging the elections.

“This time I assure you, there will be no rigging, I now have eyes in ZEC, I am being briefed about their every move and even if they want to rig, we will know in advance and act to avert it,” Nelson Chamisa told the 40 000 attending the rally in Gweru.
An empty promise, since Zanu PF has already decreed the regime will deny three million plus Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote, for example. Chamisa was not doing anything to avert that one.
In September 2018 President Mnangagwa announced that Zimbabweans in the diaspora would finally have the vote they had been campaigning for decades. Sadly, this was just one of the many promises he has made but failed to honour since taking over from late Robert Mugabe in the November 2017 military coup.

The willingness of thousands of CCC supporters to believe Nelson Chamisa would solve the myriad of their problems, no questions asked, even when MDC has failed to implement even one token political reform in 22 years; is at the very heart of why Zimbabwe is in this economic mess and political paralysis. The failure to cross examine Chamisa and company’s pathetic record of corruption and incompetence shows the people themselves have, at best, a superficial understanding of the big issues of quality leadership, free and fair elections, good governance, etc.

There is no denying Zimbabwe is a failed state; 42 years of economic decline and political paralysis – for neither the ruling party nor the multitude of opposition parties have a clue what is going on much less how to get the country out of this mess – would testify to that.

We are in this mess because the ordinary Zimbabweans themselves have allowed this sorry state of affairs to prevail all these years by their failure to think and asset their rights to a meaningful say in the governance of the country.

Zimbabwe was not doomed to end up as the failed state we are today. Whilst we remain the naïve and gullible people who will believe Chamisa’s word that Zanu PF will not rig the elections even all the evidence points to the contrary, for example; we will remain a failed state. Real change, from a failed state to a healthy and functioning democracy, will come after the metaphoric transformation from a naïve and gullible people to a thinking and question citizen. -SOURCE: zimbabwelight.blogspot.com

Spirit Medium Stung To Death

A SPIRIT medium died after he was stung by a swarm of bees at a shrine in Tsholotsho where rain-makers, popularly known as ihosana, had gathered for some traditional rituals.

Mr Milton Tshuma (80) of Mpucuko Village, Tshayile Line under Chief Matupula, was rushed to hospital after being stung by the bees and died at Tsholotsho district hospital the following day.

The incident happened last week and Mr Tshuma was buried on Monday. The shrine is referred to as little Njelele because it is believed to have a link with the main Njelele Shrine in Matopo, Matabeleland South province.

It is located a stone’s throw from Chief Matupula’s homestead. The Chronicle was told that a group of ihosana and some elders visited the shrine last week to perform some rainmaking rituals (umtolo) when they were attacked by the bees.

The shrine has a small hut located at the centre and is surrounded by big trees. Two of the trees have cavities where swarms of bees called inyosi zelinda, have stayed for many years.

The shrine is sacred and no unauthorised people are allowed in as it is used for traditional ceremonies and rituals.

On the fateful day, Mr Tshuma was attacked by a swarm of bees when he entered the shrine.

The deceased’s young brother Mr Morgan Masaka Tshuma who is headman for Tshayile Line confirmed the incident. He said elders will gather on Sunday to select emissaries to Njelele Shrine in Matopo to consult spirits.

“They were supposed to have an umtolo (ceremony) at the shrine when he was stung by inyosi zelinda. The shrine is a sacred place and only ihosana are allowed to enter,” said Mr Tshuma.

He said when his late brother arrived at the shrine, he was told by the other elders who had arrived before him that they had been stung by the bees when they entered the shrine. Mr Tshuma said the elders then asked his late brother to enter the shrine and appease the spirits.

“When he entered the shrine intending to appease the spirits, he was also attacked by the bees and the other elders ran away instead of rescuing him,” said Mr Tshuma.

He said this was the first time the bees had stung people hence the community fears the shrine may have been defiled.

“This is something new and shocking. Spirit mediums are set to meet on Sunday to deliberate on the issue and select people who will visit the main Njelele Shrine to consult because this could be a sign that something bad has happened,” said Mr Tshuma. Tsholotsho Rural District ward 6 Councillor Mthetho Sikhosana narrated what happened.

“There was supposed to be a traditional ceremony and the deceased was one of the elders who were supposed to consult spirits. Some elders got there before him and opened the shrine.

They went in and bees stung them and they fled. They waited for him to arrive and the confessed to entering the shrine without permission resulting in them being stung by the bees. They pleaded with him to appease the spirits on their behalf,” said Clr Sikhosana.

He said the now deceased entered the shrine and while inside, a swarm of bees attacked him and the other elders ran away instead of rescuing him.

Clr Sikhosana said Mr Tshuma was later rescued by his family members who rushed to the shrine after being told of the incident.

They wore rags and some mosquito nets to avoid being stung and they rushed him to Jimila Clinic before he was transferred to Tsholotsho District Hospital where he died the following day. A community elder, Ms Jane Ncube confirmed that a meeting will be held on Sunday.

“We are shocked as a community because this is the first time this has happened. We wish to get answers so that the shrine is cleansed. We are meeting on Sunday to select a delegation that will go and consult the spirits at Njelele Shrine,” she said. Chronicle

Police Sit On CCC Arson Report

By A Correspondent- Police in Bindura have been accused of refusing to take a criminal complaint by a Citizens Coalition for Change election candidate whose house was burnt down last Saturday, allegedly by a Zanu PF-linked vigilante group.

Oswell Shambare of Guwa Village returned to Rutope Police Base on Monday, now in the company of the party’s secretary general Charlton Hwende and other officials, but officers allegedly abandoned the station.

The CCC says Shambare lost three bicycles, food meant for his mother’s memorial, clothes and blankets in the arson attack on Saturday night. He was sleeping inside the bedroom hut at the time of the attack.

Shambare is the party’s Ward 18 candidate in a by-election scheduled for March 26.

Maureen Kademaunga, the CCC social welfare secretary, said: “The house was burnt after Zanu PF elements sent threats of unspecified punishment to Shambare for holding a CCC meeting at his homestead.

“The candidate who was sleeping in the house escaped death by a whisker after he woke up to flames with the roof on fire and voices outside threatening to burn him to death.

“Attempts to report a case of arson were unsuccessful after police at Rutope Police Base refused to take the case. Today again, the leadership led by secretary general Hwende, myself, our secretary for rural strategy Happymore Chidziva, Murwisi Zwizwai and Gilbert Kagodora attempted to make a report at the station but the police officers led by Constable Kamonere deserted the police station after refusing to entertain us.”

The CCC said it was concerned by the “inaction of institutions mandated to promote peace.”

“The CCC condemns the rise of election related violence propagated by groups linked to Zanu PF. We appeal to the police to uphold the violated person’s right to an effective remedy, and to investigate all cases of violence with impartiality and without undue political influence,” Kademaunga said.

President Chamisa: “Itai Dzamara A Hero Of People’s Struggle”

Tinashe Sambiri| Citizens’ Coalition For Change leader President Nelson Chamisa says the Zanu PF regime is responsible for the death of journalist and human rights activist Itai Dzamara.

Dzamara was abducted in broad daylight by State security agents on March 9, 2015.

According to President Chamisa, citizens have the right to express themselves freely in a democratic society.

“9 MARCH 2015 is when Itai Dzamara was abducted. It’s now 7 years since he was abducted and has never been seen or accounted for.

We hold the state accountable and demand answers.Itai was killed for demanding freedom.

Our thoughts are with the Dzamara family. We the Citizens,” President Chamisa wrote on Twitter.

Jesus, Author and Perfecter of Our Faith

Sabbath School Summary

By Elder Dr Masimba Mavaza
Jesus, Author and Perfecter of Our Faith.

Lesson 11
Memory Text:

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2, NKJV).

INTRODUCTION

Hebrews 11 and 12 are probably the most-loved chapters of the book. They describe the Christian life as a race in which we all participate and in which all who stay faithful will receive the reward. They also describe the drama of Redemption as a race in which people of faith from the past persevered, despite sufferings, but have not yet received the reward.

And that’s because the story ends with us, as well, not just them. We are the concluding act. The drama culminates with our entering and running the last part of the race, and with Jesus seated at the goal line at the right hand of God. He provides inspiration as well as the ultimate example of how the race is run. He is the ultimate Witness that the reward is true and that He is the Forerunner who opens the way for us (Heb. 6:19, 20; Heb. 10:19-23).

Hebrews 11 explains that faith is confidence in God’s promises, even if we cannot see their fulfillment yet. This lesson will explore what faith is and how it is obtained through the examples of the past and, especially and centrally, through the example of Jesus, “the founder and perfecter of our faith” (Heb. 12:2, ESV).

SABBATH: Hebrews 11 lists down the heroes of faith in Bible history & Hebrews 12 ends the argument by portraying Jesus as the best & supreme example of faith. The two chapters are probably the most-loved of the book. The Christian walk is depicted as a race which all who stay faithful receives a prize. Christ is our Forerunner in the race (Heb. 6:19, 20; 10:19-23). He’s the perfecter of our faith (Heb. 12:2).

SUNDAY: The bitter experience of God’s end-time people can be sweetened by endurance. Faith is what’s needed for one to endure. Believers need faith to get God’s blessings. When God answered Habakkuk’s prayer, the people needed faith to wait (Hab. 2:2-4, 1:12-17, 10:37). Christ lived by faith & we’re to copy Him (Heb. 10:5-10, 25, 38; 9:15-28). God’s promises are sure; doesn’t fail (2 Tim. 2:13).

MONDAY: Arguably, Abraham is the most important character in Hebrews 11. His story is moving & full of lessons. Isaac as his true heir was to be sacrificed on God’s request (Heb. 11:1-19). It seemed as though God was going back on His promise but He “resurrected” Isaac (Heb. 11:17, Gen. 21:12, 13, 22 & 12-21). Thus, Abraham had faith in God’s resurrection with no example in the OT (Rom. 4:17-20).

TUESDAY: Moses is one of the best known characters in the OT whose story inspires faith. Out of faith his parents hid him from birth against the king’s decree & by faith Moses was not afraid of the king’s anger (Heb. 11:20-28). Above all, slated to be the next Pharaoh, he chose God above royalty (vs. 24). Like Moses, the Jews in Paul’s time believed in the unseen & suffered for Christ’s sake (Heb. 10:32-35).

WEDNESDAY: How could that be that a heathen harlot, Rahab, is listed in the roster of faith along with Bible stars like Moses? Also, she’s the only other woman on the list. Tenth in the list, she climaxed the “by faith” theme in Hebrews 11 & replaces Joshua (Heb. 11:31, 32, Josh. 2:9-11). She also believed in the unseen & acted in faith. She hid the two spies in Jericho at the cost of her life (Heb. 11:35-38).

THURSDAY: Jesus is presented as the best model of faith applauded by all these listed heroes of faith. He makes faith possible. He’s the author & finisher of our faith (Heb. 12:1-3). First, He’s the only one who finished the race & reached the ultimate goal (Heb. 11:39, 40, Rev. 20:4). Second, His perfect life gives hope for us to run our race (Heb. 10:5-14). Also, He’s why we have faith (2 Tim. 2:13,Phil. 2:5-8).

FRIDAY: Our lives are Christ’s if we have faith in Him. Faith calls us to give our all to Christ & takes all Christ offers. Give your heart & will to Him & take His blessings & laws. Christ does not ask something too hard or high from us. Christ has accomplished the ultimate for us. His existence, character, & sure Word are evidence by which we can base our faith. Doubts may arise, but Christ has the answers.

OT- Old Testament

Isaac & Ishmael- Ishmael was the firstborn of Abraham, but God had told Abraham that it was all right for him to accept Sarah’s request and cast Ishmael and his mother out because God would take care of them, and because Abraham’s offspring would be named through Isaac.

The resurrection of Isaac- Isaac is a type of Christ. He was perceived as “good as dead” when being offered as a burnt offering. When God provided a lamb for the sacrifice, Isaac was thus brought back from the dead. In the same manner, God rose Jesus from the dead. Isaac’s life was spared but Jesus’ wasn’t. He was the Lamb of God on Mount Moriah.

Discussion Questions

? An early Christian scholar once wrote: “Credo ut intelligam,” Latin for “I believe in order that I may understand.” Hebrews 11:3 says that “by faith we understand” (NKJV). What is the relationship between faith and understanding? Why does faith often come before understanding? That is, why must we sometimes reach out in faith in what, at least at first, we don’t understand, and then afterward more understanding will come?

? The Greek word pistis means both “faith” and “faithfulness.” Why are both meanings important in seeking to understand what living “by faith” means? How did the people in Hebrews 11 show, by their faithfulness, the reality of their faith? How can we do the same?

? Though we understand that faith is a gift of God (Rom. 12:3), what role do we play, if any, in receiving and maintaining that gift?

Wife Caught In The Act With Boyfriend After Midnight

Sudden split…Man and wife..

In an incident that’s sparked chaos, residents in Maphisa were on Tuesday last week witnessed free and unrehearsed reality street theatre when a jilted man busted his wife in the act in her car with her boyfriend at 3am outside a supermarket.

-B Metro

Justice And Relief For Change Champions

Citizens Coalition For Change Namibia applauds the court of public opinion for ushering in justice and relief to change champions.

09 March 2022

Change champions in Namibia who subscribe to the Yellow Movement championed by none other than the Change Champion in Chief, President Advocate Nelson are under the under control of unquestionable jolly after witnessing bumper crowds attending change rallies in the motherland. Namibia district feels greatly energised and rejuvenated to see ZanuPF surrogates losing the plot to sell the national democratic revolution for three pieces of silver.

Following the official launch of the March 26 by-elections at the Zimbabwe grounds sometimes in February, Citizens Coalition For Change Namibia admired and got inspired by the resilience of our people to brave ZanuPF’s attempt to deter and block social democrats from attending the rally. What perturbed ZanuPF and their surrogates were the astronomical numbers of citizens who resisted state road blocks and walked their way to listen to the only hope Zimbabwe has at this particular juncture. Our plea as a district is that the exhibited popularity should be converted into safe votes so that we win Zimbabwe for complete change.

The commitment displayed in Harare, Gokwe, Kwekwe, Bulawayo and Gweru by change champions is a testament to a great impending victory on 26 March and 2023 historic by-elections. It was made clear that pathological lies have short legs as Mwonzora, Komichi, Mashakada, Dumbu and others are now undertaking their rallies in halls with a capacity to house only 100 supporters versus bumper crowds pulled by the Change Champion In Chief President Advocate Nelson Chamisa. The Supreme Court judgement used by Mwonzora, Khupe and cabal was completely defeated by the court of public opinion. Thank you change champions for defending the people’s project.

Moreover, Citizens Coalition For Change Namibia suspects that Mwonzora and cabal have now joined ZanuPF terror groups meant to decimate the people’s project through violence. We absolutely condemn the continuity of politically motivated violence and we call upon these perpetrators of these high levels of human butchery on voices of dissent. The new baby Citizens Coalition For Change (CCC) has already one change champion the late Mboneni Ncube who was butchered in cold blood by Zanupf Satanists in Kwekwe during the People’s President Advocate Nelson Chamisa’s mouthwatering address. As social democrats,we believe in the sanctity of life. We are clamouring for the rule of law to be respected. May his dear soul rest in power.

Furthermore, Citizens Coalition For Change Namibia demands justice to the Mboneni family and other dozens of change champions who were severely injured during the devil’s attack. As advocates of constitutional, we urge ZanuPF morons to abandon their stone age shenanigans and embrace modern politics where citizens are allowed their freedom of expression, association and assembly as enshrined in the supreme law of the country.

It was quite pathetic to see the police taking it instructions from the Shake Shake Building to bar our rally in Gokwe despite the High Court judgement that allowed change champions to proceed with the rally. What inspired us was the resilience of the underrated change agents in Gokwe who stood firm to defend the constitution. The use of police dogs , teargas, guns and water cannons on the innocent and peaceful citizens must be resisted with equal measure. ZanuPF does not own Zimbabwe! Zimbabwe belongs to all bonafide citizens. Social democrats should just register to vote for change, vote against senseless and barefaced corruption in 2022&2023 and get ready to defend the vote from thievery.

Citizens Coalition For Change Namibia is cognisant of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) is trying to assist ZanuPF to rig elections on the 26 March by-elections as unearthed by the diligent Team Pachedu where voters are being transferred from their polling stations without any lawful procedure. The recent incident is very humiliating and disappointing where husband and wife from the same bedroom are made to vote at different polling station. This is beyond authoritarianism. We demand that ZEC must be independent to promote free fair and credible elections as a way of averting illegitimacy.

ZanuPF is trying every trick in the book to annihilate the Yellow Revolution but to no avail. They commenced with the Supreme Court Corona judgement which allowed Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora to illegally recall our MPs an councillors, taking the Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House, our beloved name Mdc, our colour red , party symbols and slogan but all dismally crumbled. They are trying violence and human butchery to deter change champions but invain. Everyday,we are receiving messages of massive abductions and torture of change champions and this should be resisted.

In a nutshell, Citizens who subscribe to the Yellow Movement should be strong. No amount of violence can scare committed revolutionaries. We urge social democrats in Zimbabwe to remain calm since we don’t believe in politically motivated violence as a way of settling political differences. Change champions should be on their toes defending the rule of law and constitutionalism in the event that they are provoked. ZanuPF should know that they don’t have monopoly over violence. Throwing stones, spears and machetes on unarmed citizens remains unwarranted and satanic.

Lets be prepared to defend the constitution and our democracy in Zimbabwe. The vote in 2023 must be totally defended by change champions. Enough is Enough! ZanuPF must go! We need to be prepared to surrender ourselves before we surrender the Yellow Revolution. Change champions should commit and dedicate to prosecute the Yellow Revolution to its logical conclusion

Citizens Coalition For Change Namibia is greatly inspired by the court of public opinion. Rundu Branch Spokesperson made very clear that Yellow Revolutionaries in Namibia are going to register to vote for change in 2023. Lets embrace participatory democracy to win Zimbabwe for change. A New Great Zimbabwe is possible in our lifetime. One People! One Nation! One Vision! #NgaapindeHakeMukomana

Mnangagwa’s New Dispensation Incompetent, Clueless

Tinashe Sambiri|The gross incompetence of Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has been further exposed by rising fuel prices.

Economists say Mr Mnangagwa’s economic policies are catastrophic.

Citizens’ Coalition For Change says the Zanu regime is clueless and unable to fix the crisis in the country.

“According to the current regional fuel prices, Zimbabwe fuel is the most expensive in SADC.

The fuel prices are way above the Sadc averages of US$0,98 for diesel & US$ 1,01 for petrol. #RegisterToVoteZW #6MillionVotes #NgaapindeHakeMukomana

Under a CCC govt, fuel supplies will operate on an open competition basis dominated by the private sector, while government would facilitate entry of other players to enable consumers to benefit from increased competition,” CCC said in a statement.

Obesity, Your Heart And Liver

World Obesity Day 2022 – Accelerating action to stop obesity

4 March 2022 News

release Reading time: 1 min (360 words)

More than 1 billion people worldwide are obese – 650 million adults, 340 million adolescents and 39 million children. This number is still increasing. WHO estimates that by 2025, approximately 167 million people – adults and children – will become less healthy because they are overweight or obese.

On the occasion of World Obesity Day 2022, WHO is urging countries to do more to reverse this predictable and preventable health crisis.

Obesity is a disease impacting most body systems. It affects the heart, liver, kidneys, joints, and reproductive system. It leads to a range of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and stroke, various forms of cancer, as well as mental health issues. People with obesity are also three times more likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19.

The key to preventing obesity is to act early, ideally even before a baby is conceived. Good nutrition in pregnancy, followed by exclusive breastfeeding until the age of 6 months and continued breastfeeding until 2 years and beyond, is best for all infants and young children.

At the same time, countries need to work together to create a better food environment so that everyone can access and afford a healthy diet. Effective steps include restricting the marketing to children of food and drinks high in fats, sugar and salt, taxing sugary drinks, and providing better access to affordable, healthy food. Cities and towns need to make space for safe walking, cycling, and recreation, and schools need to help households teach children healthy habits from early on.

WHO is responding to the global obesity crisis on many fronts. This includes monitoring global trends and prevalence, the development of a broad range of guidance addressing the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity, and providing implementation support and guidance for countries.

Following a request from Member States, the WHO secretariat is developing an acceleration action plan to stop obesity, tackle the epidemic in high burden countries and catalyse global action. The plan will be discussed at the 76 World Health Assembly to be held in May 2022.

Chihuri In Court For Courruption

By- Former police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri is expected to explain how he sold five properties that were part of the family’s large property portfolio.

The case is set to be heard on March 16.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) chief public prosecutor in charge of the asset forfeiture unit, Mr Chris Mutangadura, confirmed that the matter would be heard next week.

“The judge directed that it be postponed to the 16th because his schedule could not allow him to hear three consolidated matters today(yesterday) at once,” he said. “Remember it is a very bulky record of three matters and concerns very complex legal dispute.”
Chihuri is believed to be living in Malawi and unwilling to return home. He is accused of side-tracking up to US$32 million of public funds into family companies and buying properties during the 25 years he was at the helm of the police force.
He is alleged to have sold five properties in 2017 and 2018, following his unceremonious departure from the top police post.
Chihuri is contesting court orders allowing the State to forfeit his properties, a move which last month prompted Justice Kwenda to propose that all these matters be consolidated into a single case for the court hearing.
The State seeks to freeze Chihuri’s companies and the properties, which his family acquired during his 25 years at the helm of the police force, pending the final outcome of possible criminal investigations and civil suits that could lead to their forfeiture.
And in its fresh application that State wants Chihuri to explain how the five properties were sold.
In the application counteracting Chihuri’s bid to set aside two orders issued against him, the NPA argues that a check with the Deeds Office showed the rushed disposal of assets by the Chihuri family.
The order, which the NPA obtained at the High Court two years ago, put the properties of Chihuri and his family under the management of the Asset Management Unit, meaning that the properties cannot be sold without permission of the courts.
This followed an upgrade in anti-corruption law by amending the Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act to allow courts to demand how people acquired wealth that is otherwise not explained.
The new Chapter III A in the Act now empowers the High Court to make orders to elicit explanations from persons who exhibit possession of great wealth without having apparent lawful means of obtaining such wealth, such as through their legal earnings or through their private business dealings. Zec Releases Shocking Mat Voters Statistics

By- The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, Zec, said about 3 600 voters in Matabeleland South Province were registered to vote during the just-ended Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) blitz.

According to statistics released by Zec, Bulawayo has the lowest number of registered voters with 254 630 followed by Matabeleland South with 259 689 registered voters and Matabeleland North standing at 335 851.
The region, which is least represented in Parliament, has 38 parliamentary seats out of 210 constituencies. Bulawayo has 12, Matabeleland South and Matabeleland North each have 13.
The remainder of the seats are spread across the seven other provinces outside the Matabeleland region. Matabeleland South provincial elections officer Mr Rabson Nyoni said the low numbers presented a challenge for the province.
“About 3 600 voters were registered in Matabeleland South Province and that’s about what we registered last time. The numbers are really low and they don’t assist in addressing the kind of challenges we’re seeking to address at the moment in terms of the requirements of delimitation.
We would have expected to have more numbers from our people but unfortunately, we didn’t get the numbers,” said Mr Nyoni.
Turning to the next voter registration blitz in April, Mr Nyoni said efforts will be made to engage stakeholders so that more people are deployed on the ground to assist with voter registration.
“We need to motivate our people because the youths in particular don’t seem to understand how voter registration works to address some of their needs.
At times you get to a community and find a youth making a comment like ‘ngiyabakhawulisa’. They think there is someone they are fixing, but we’re trying to educate them so that they realise they’re also being disadvantaged by not registering to vote.
They think they’re disadvantageous to some other people yet they’re also disadvantageous to themselves. We’re getting into the second phase of the voter registration exercise aware of this and we’ll try to capacitate our voter educators to convince the constituents of the youth to come forward and register to vote,” said Mr Nyoni.
He said organisations that deal with the youths would also be roped in to help increase the numbers. “It’s mostly the youth who are not coming forward to register to vote and we need to change this,” said Mr Nyoni.
Commenting on voter apathy, political analyst Mr Tedious Ncube said the trend was reflective of a much bigger problem.
“Voter registration is not a regional project, it is a national project. However, voter registration in Matabeleland becomes key in that it will actively mobilise people to take part in decision making.
Of late we have witnessed apathy in terms of voter registration, which is reflective of a much bigger problem. The much bigger problem in this case is participation in politics, the economy and every facet of our political, social and economic system,” said Mr Ncube.
He said if people can be mobilised to register to vote, there’s a likelihood that they may be interested in participating in the economy and political processes.
“If we can succeed in getting people to register to vote, it may be the starting point of getting everyone to participate because once people are interested in voting, there’s a likelihood that they may be interested in participating in the economy and political processes.
Of late, we’ve seen that in terms of Zec figures, Matabeleland is lagging behind. That apathy may be true even in other instances,” said Mr Ncube. The mobile voter registration is being rolled out in two phases — February 1 to 28 and April 11 to 30.
The exercise is also expected to give members of the public an opportunity to inspect the voters’ roll. Chronicle

PSG Boss Blames Referee For Bernabeu Loss

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi stormed the referee’s dressing room and broke equipment after his side were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema netted a second-half hat trick to help Madrid overturn a two-goal deficit to progress to the quarterfinals 3-2 on aggregate.

Al-Khelaifi , however, was not happy with the Frenchman’s first goal and felt the striker fouled goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

After the full-time, the PSG boss and sporting director Leonardo left the presidential box shouting and describing the decision as “shameful” before making their way to the Bernabeu tunnel area in search of the referee’s dressing room.

According to the referee’s report, he “behaved aggresively and tried to enter the referee’s dressing room. When the referee asked them to leave, the president hit a piece of the assistant’s equipment, breaking it.”

Security staff were later called in to calm the situation down.

PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino also criticised the referee’s decision to allow Benzema’s equaliser in his post-match news conference.

“It’s a feeling of a lot of injustice, with the goal we conceded,” he said. “It’s a clear foul from Benzema on Donnarumma. The emotional state of the game changed and we were very exposed. It’s a tremendous blow, because we were better in the tie. We were better for 180 minutes.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Madrid Overcome PSG In Dramatic Fashion

Carlo Ancelotti’s men came into the second leg trailing the Parisians 0-1 from the first leg, with Kylian Mbappe’s late strike in Paris the advantage for PSG.

It was the French sensation who thrust PSG ahead by finishing off a breathtakingly-beautiful counter attack five minutes before the half time interval, to put his side 1-0 up on the night, and 2-0 up on aggregate.

Madrid looked down and out, but the introduction of Eduardo Camavinga proved decisive in midfield.

On the hour mark, Gianluigi Donnarumm somewhat gifted Los Blancos a way back into the contest, when he delayed clearing the ball, allowing Vinicius to set up Benzema, who made no mistake from close range.

Madrid levelled the tie in the 76th minute when Benzema was sent through on goal by a pinpoint Luka Modric pass and he finished clinically.

The 13-time European champions turned around the tie in dramatic fashion when they scored from kick off straight after Benzema’s goal.

A lapse in concentration in the PSG backline allowed the Frenchman to get his and Madrid’s third, sending the Bernabeu into a frenzy.

Government Under Pressure To Reprimand Chiwenga Over Threats To Crush Opposition

Tinashe Sambiri|Zanu PF deputy president Constantino Chiwenga is under pressure to apologize for making threats to crush the opposition like lice.

The British Parliament says the government of Zimbabwe is expect to reprimand Chiwenga over “reckless” remarks he made at a Zanu PF rally two weeks ago.

Citizens’ Coalition For Change vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala described Chiwenga’s remarks as unacceptable.

“When u talk like god, u cause the nation to lose the little modicum of respect it has.

Chiwenga needs to withdraw his statement inciting violence.

This statement is no different to the one issued in Victoria Falls in the 80s that all Joshua Nkomo’s supporters must be fumigated,” wrote Hon Sikhala on Twitter.
