“Zim’s Economic Challenges To Worsen”
By A Correspondent- Media scholar Mphathisi Ndlovu says there is a possibility that the country’s economic challenges will get worse ahead of the 2023 elections.
Presenting on socio-economic scenarios, challenges and gaps in implementing socio-economic development policy reforms during a Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (ZDI) think tank meeting, Ndlovu said Zimbabwe may experience challenges similar to those it experienced in 2008.
Writing for CITE, Senzeni Ncube quoted Ndlovu as saying that the Zimbabwe dollar will most likely continue losing its value against the USD. Said Ndlovu:
My first argument is that the socio-economic hardship will most likely worsen, this is informed by what is happening currently, I think most of us experienced the 2008 crisis, and there is a possibility that there will be a repeat of the 2008 crisis.
If we look at our local currency, there is inflation, there were figures which were shared a few days ago that stated that Zimbabwe’s inflation for June 2022 was at 426 per cent.
With this in mind, we can assume that the local currency will most likely continue losing its value against the United States dollar and there is a possibility that there will be fuel price hikes which is what we have been experiencing.
Zimbabwe’s year-on-year inflation climbed to 192% in June from 132% in May, according to the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT).
However, Steve Hanke, a professor of applied economics at Johns Hopkins University in the United States of America, says Zimbabwe’s annual inflation rate is 426%, the highest in the world.
Ndlovu added that the high cost of living will most likely become unbearable and there is a possibility of mass immigration. He said:
Civil servants have been giving the government an ultimatum that their grievances be addressed, they have been calling the government to address issues of their salary, that they be paid in United States Dollars, so there is that possibility that there will be some crisis at public health institutions will persist.
Not just health institutions but teachers, there is that possibility that they will continue asking for payment in US dollars, the issue of incapacitation, the issue of strike, there is that possibility given the current prevailing socio-economic environment.
Ndlovu was speaking during a Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (ZDI) think tank meeting on key electoral reform challenges, gaps, demands and strategies held in Bulawayo on Thursday.

Mhona Commissions Airport Shuttle Buses
By A Correspondent- Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister, Felix Mhona, commissioned two airport shuttle buses at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Thursday.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Mhona challenged the Airport Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) to grow the fleet as the airport expands. He said:
These buses are an integral component of the modern airport ecosystem, which we yearn for.
They are no mere ornaments of the airport, but suitable complements of the already existing apron traffic which shall undoubtedly facilitate seamless mobility and connectivity by users as they navigate the airport apron with ease.
I urge the ACZ and stakeholders, to maintain the momentum, and ensure that as the airport grows, you also grow the fleet of your apron traffic, taking advantage of the new Government policy thrust towards smart, carbon-emission-free, electric vehicles.
This will surely add to the glamour and attractive splendour of our airports and the convenience which these buses will bring to travellers cannot be overemphasised.
Uncle Roland Undresses Passion Java
By– Socialite Roland Muchengwa has threatened to repossess a fleet of vehicles he claims he gave to self-styled prophet Panganai ‘Passion’ Java to use.
The threat came after a BMW X6 previously seen being driven by Java ran over and killed a pregnant woman on Seke Road on Tuesday.
Java has denied social media claims that he was behind the wheel of the X6 before quickly switching vehicles and fleeing the scene. In a statement, he insisted that he was nowhere near the scene of the accident.
Muchengwa, popularly known as Uncle Roland, appeared to confirm longstanding rumours than Java does not own the luxury vehicles he drives. Some are known to be rental cars from Panjap Motors in Eastlea.
“Passion Java is my friend but if what I am hearing is true, I will end the friendship and repossess my vehicles. The news is tragic,” Muchengwa wrote on Instagram.
Fally Ipupa of Panjab Motors who has previously been spotted with the accident X6, said the vehicle was not his.
“If the vehicle was mine the police would have reached out to me for their investigations. Java is not merely my client but also a friend, that is why in some cases you see posts of us together on social media,” said Ipupa.
National police spokesperson Paul Nyathi said investigations are still ongoing to establish if Java was present at the scene.
Police have arrested one Courage Gwezhira over the pedestrian’s death. Java said Gwezhira works for him.

Mnangagwa A “Razor Blade” In Terms Of Seducing Women
Tinashe Sambiri|
Outspoken Zimbabwean philanthropist Susan Mutami has said Emmerson Mnangagwa is a sex pervert.
Last week Mutami revealed Mnangagwa’s bedroom secrets.
According to the controversial businesswoman, Mnangagwa is originally from the Republic of Zambia.
“Honai macitizens zvanga zvatomubata ari pa parade anga akutoda kukecha mwana wevaridzi…
@HHichilema
please be prepared to welcome ur citizen
@edmnangagwa
w all his wives and children back home in 2023. Zimbabweans have had enough and there’s no need to send someone to pick him up. Temba Mliswa will carry his bags for him and accompany him to Mumbwa village…
… Zambians are good people and I know the actions of one is not a true reflection of the whole loving nation of Zambia. Zimbabweans are finally going to take their country back and you can have ur son of the soil,” Mutami postulated.
Mnangagwa Threatens Another Gukurahundi
By- President Emerson Mnangagwa has threatened to crush the people of Matebeleland if they continue to demand a separate state.
Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe would remain a unitary state and that those pushing a split were daydreaming.
Addressing thousands of Zanu PF supporters at the commissioning of the agro-industrial park at Marondera University of Agriculture and Science Technology at Dosmery Farm, Mnangagwa said languages should not divide the nation.
“There are some people threatening to split Zimbabwe, let me say, Zimbabwe is a unitary State, Zimbabwe is one,” Mnangagwa said.
“You are a Zimbabwean first and foremost. According to the Constitution, we have 16 official languages; all of them are important. Every Zimbabwean is equal before our laws.”
Mnangagwa’s utterances follow attempts by some pressure groups to push for a separate Matabeleland state.
Mnangagwa Officially Recognises Matabeleland Independence
Mnangagwa officially recognises Matabeleland independence cause, talks about it daily
Just imagine UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, threatening to shorten the lives of all Scottish people who are calling for the independence of Scotland from UK or Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez threatening to kill all Catalonians for advocating for the independence of Catalonia from Spain. It is unheard of. But in Zimbabwe Mr Mnangagwa, obviously not presidential material and fit to be addressed by us as President, has issued more than three chilling statements this year alone in which he threatened to terminate the lives of all Mthwakazi (Matabele) peacefully campaigning for the breakaway of Matabeleland from Zimbabwe.
In the face of Mnangagwa’s threats Matabeleland Liberation Organisation, MLO led by Cde Paul Siwela is justified to assemble more than 30 000 Matabele army to protect over 4 million unarmed Matabele civilians without fear, without regret and without apologising.
What makes Mnangagwa and his fellow Shona supremacist think that innocent Matabele blood can be spilt wantonly without consequences?
That the majority of people who live in Matabeleland came from South Africa a long time ago is a fact not a crime just like the shonas came all the way from Burundi after being chased away for witchcraft and stealing.
That the people of Matabeleland, those who were found in Matabeleland and those who came from South Africa, collectively known as Matabele or uMthwakazi are calling for the restoration of Matabeleland state is not a crime but a God given right that all people of Matabeleland must exercise without fear. No amount of threat from Mnangagwa will stop us from demanding the restoration of Matabeleland. The only time we will stop talking about Matabeleland break- away is when the independent and sovereign Republic of Matabeleland is established.
We always hear misguided Shona leaders and their Shona supporters using such words like “we will crush Matabeles” or “I will shorten the lives of Matabeles”, by Mr Mnangagwa himself. We remind them that being majority does not matter in a war. It is the skill, determination and bravery that counts.
We refer the uninformed and shallow minded Shona supremacist to Rwanda. The world heard this kind of language like “we will crush you” or “we will obliterate you from the face of earth”. Of course it was coming from Majority Hutus that make 80% of Rwanda’s population directed at Tutsis that make about 20%. At the time the Hutus were in control of the government and all military and security apparatus and murdering innocent unarmed Tutsis just like Shonas are doing to the Matebeles in Zimbabwe. But when the real war came, both sides were armed, the majority Hutus received a shocking and humiliating defeat from Tutsis just like Shonas would be humiliated if war would break out.
Coming back home in Matabeleland. His Majesty, King Mzilikazi, the founder of Matabele nation assembled a small number of about 500 warriors that conqured millions of enemy soldiers and warriors and successfully built and defended Matabele nation that exists even now. The sons and daughters of the warriors live in Matabeleland.
We strongly warn the blood and bloody Hutu relatives in Mashonaland against reading too much into this majority thing. When push comes to shove it would be real men that will come out victorious. Cowards will run for their dear lives and cry for dear mothers.
As Mr Mnangagwa is busy issuing threats to kill Matabeles and making it a crime for one to be from South Africa, is he aware that Shonas, disabled, blind, able bodied, educated and uneducated are now found in the streets, robots and every South African city? Some of them are working, some are beggars and some thieves a trade that is popular with Shona people. Should the South African government deploy SA army to wipe out these Shonas or should the President of South Africa organise rallies and make threats to kill all the Shonas because they are from Zimbabwe?
That will be shocking but that is what is happening in Zimbabwe on a daily basis where Members of parliament, Ministers and even the president take turns in reminding Matabeles that they are from South Africa and that they deserve to be crushed forgetting that they came from Burundi.
Mnangagwa’s threats expose him as a cruel, irresponsible and very unwise leader who lacks presidential depth and a misfit who does not consider the negative impact of his utterances in the present and in the future. It exposes him as someone who cannot even learn from his own bloody history an unremorseful and unrepentant genocidist.
While the Hutus in Burundi are popular for committing genocide against minorities in the Great Lakes region, their blood and blood thirst relatives from Mashonaland who were chased away from Burundi for engaging in witch craft are known for slaughtering innocent unarmed Matabele civilians in Zimbabwe. This makes the Shona people the only cruel black people in Southern Africa who have committed genocide against black minorities post colonial era.
To the people of Matabeleland we say stay put and fear not. We have nothing to lose in engaging in a war with Zimbabwe but a lot to gain. We are talking about being free from Shona tribal oppression, being free from the fear of being killed through genocide and threats of second genocide, being free from abuse, humiliation, demonisation tribal segregation and tribal domination.
We are proud to further inform Matabeles that the minute Matabeleland would be announced as the independent and sovereign state, the following jobs would be immediately available and guaranteed:
The Republic of Matabeleland Defence forces would need 30 000 young men and women to work in the army and airforce
Matabeleland Republic Police would employ 10 000 young men and women as police officers.
Department of Home Affairs will employ over 3000 to work in the Home Affairs offices and ports of entry in Matabeleland
5 000 young people would be employed as correctional service officers
5 000 would be employed intelligence officials
20 000 Matabeles would be employed in the health department as nurses and doctors
70 000 will be employed as teachers in education department
More Matabeles would be absorbed in the private sector, banking, tourism, hospitality, manufacturing, farming, mining to name just a few. All these jobs will be occupied by Matabeles who will enjoy the sweetness of freedom for the first time after many years of oppression.
There will be enough for everyone. So the fence sitters must chose between oppressive Zimbabwe which caters for the interests of Shonas only and The Republic of Matabeleland which they will run and build themselves and accommodate everyone who lives in it.
Do you want to be a permanent Shona slave in Zimbabwe or a free citizen of The Republic of Matabeleland with the full right to life, employment, education, participation in economics, politics and free to practice your culture and speak your own language?
To Mr Mnangagwa and his followers we say only one bullet from the Zimbabwe army or Matabeleland Liberation army will mark the beginning of Matabeleland independence campaign and the official split of Zimbabwe into two states, The Republic of Matabeleland and Zimbabwe.

By-A councillor belonging to Douglas Mwonzora’s MDC-T has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after he fractured his wife’s back, accusing him of being a bad cook.
Tawanda Magidi (47), the Mkoba suburb Ward 16 councillor in Gweru, assaulted his wife with a garden pick tool handle several times and fractured her back.
Giving evidence in court, Magidi’s wife, Vongai Muchaneta (33) said that she was assaulted while in the middle of cooking a meal for Magidi. She said:
He brought some meat and when I was in the middle of cooking it, he started shouting at me accusing me of being a bad wife and a bad cook.
He then slapped me on both cheeks and picked a pick handle and struck me several times on my back.
The following morning, I fled to my rural home in Bikita where my relatives took me to hospital.
I was told by the doctor that I had suffered a fracture on my backbone.
Magidi also allegedly assaulted his wife with open hands twice on both cheeks.
The incident occurred on 8 December 2021 at around 9 PM.
After the assault, Muchaneta left Gweru for her rural home area in Bikita and was then taken to hospital, where a doctor observed that she had suffered a fractured backbone.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Magidi.
Magidi, who resides in Mkoba 18, Gweru, pleaded not guilty to the charge of physical abuse.
He was, however, convicted by magistrate Progress Murandu after a full trial.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison but six months of the sentence were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
Magidi will spend six months at WhaWha prison.
He has, however, initiated an appeal process against his conviction and sentence.

“Help Me With Fresh Lies” Activist’s Wife Hit Hard By Hubby Arrest
By Sabrina Kundai Chambara| So today we have new and fresh charges. Of all the arrests this one hit hard on me.
I walked into the charge office walking side by side with Masaraure Obert hoping will come out being held by the same hands which were holding me.
We entered the law and order section Masaraure Obert asked for the book to sign and they didn’t produce it we were told to sit down almost an hour later one policeman came and said ‘we have new charges’ Like ‘behold we have new charges’.
These words echoed and continue to echo as i walked out of Harare Central Police station lonely as i was back to my empty bed ,empty house.
But i have to gather my strength to drive home and meet this little man and come up with new fresh lies to respond to ‘Where is my daddy?
This is the most painful part If anyone could help me with new fresh lies for the little man I dont have the strength to type #justiceforobert or #freeobert I pray for complete freedom from the Almighty for he has all the answers and knows that he is innocent
Massive Shutdown Protests Over Power Crisis
The South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) is planning a national shutdown to protest the rising costs of living in the country and the ongoing energy crisis.
SAFTU is the country’s second-largest trade union confederation with an estimated membership of 800,000 workers.
“We cannot allow our country to be at the doorstep of a failed state as we have seen in Zimbabwe and other countries,” SAFTU general-secretary Zwelinzima Vavi told the SABC.
“As I speak to you now we are load shed. We get load shed three to four times a day. We are losing our country and if we don’t stand up now and start a process of unifying, all those who disagree with this path that has been travelled for the past 28 years, we will follow Zimbabwe.
“While SAFTU has not provided a date or time for the proposed national shutdown it is set to provide further details, along with a list of demands, in a press conference later on Thursday (7 July).
South Africa’s CPI figures for June, set to be released in mid-July, are likely to show that inflation breached the 7% level on the back of rising fuel and food costs.
This comes after inflation reached a five-year high of 6.5% in May 2022, up from 5.9% in April 2022.
Transport and food and non-alcoholic beverages (NAB) accounted for just over half of the annual rate, with sharp price increases recorded in both categories.
Fuel, in particular, continues to be a major contributor: if the impact of fuel is removed from the CPI reading in May, the headline rate falls to 5.1% from 6.5%.
Diesel prices jumped by 8.1% between April and May, taking the annual rate to over 45%. The average price of a litre of diesel in May 2021 was R16.20 – meaning it costs R729 to fill a 45-litre tank.
Twelve months later, with the average price at R23.67 per litre, filling the same tank cost R1,065.
Load sheddingThis situation has been exacerbated by South Africa’s worst load shedding outages on record, with Eskom currently instituting stage 5 load shedding on a daily basis.
Investec chief economist Annabel Bishop said South Africa’s economic growth now faces increased risk in the coming months as prolonged load shedding is set to continue.
She added that the outcome for GDP in 2022 will now depend on how long the country experiences severe outages.
“A couple of days of stage 6 load shedding in one year will neither derail economic growth, nor credit ratings’ outlooks for South Africa, but persistent severe load shedding will – while South Africa enters a worsening global economic environment in the second half of 2022 as well.”
“This comes as South Africa’s fiscal metrics have been benefitting from both improved revenue collections – on the back of high commodity prices and increased SARS efficiencies – and the dampening effect of high inflation itself on the debt and deficit ratios to nominal GDP.”

Robbery At Newlands Shopping Centre | VIDEO
Boris Johnson, Zimbabwe View
BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA.
We must all remember that until a British Prime minister talks to the Queen he will not resign without her majesty’s consent. So until then Johnson is very much the Prime minister. Not once in his speech did he mention the word resign. Not even once did he refer to a meeting with the queen. So yes he has not resigned yet.
When those who claim to be masters of democracy slip into democratic confusion it is those who follow them who get the sharp edge. It is true that sometimes democracy is costly.
Britain has experienced four general elections in three years and is likely to have the fifth. Which means no British Prime minister has finished a full term since Gordon Brown.
Each election has brought no significant change to the foreign policy, but it has changed the face of immigration law.
This has affected many Zimbabweans who are either on visas or are completely illegal.
Laws affecting becoming British have been tightened while each and every new face tightens the laws against immigrants.
The next few months aren’t just about door knockers and debates. They could also affect Zimbabweans staying in the UK.
There is no doubt life for immigrants will be harder regardless of who wins the elections. As noticed world wide
political parties seem to have used immigrants as their winning point; the more the candidate pledges horror for immigrants, the more votes he/she gets. Brexit was achieved on the back of immigrants. Immigrants are not only voluntary slaves but surely they are the horses who decide the way politics goes in wherever they are. So it is not a surprise that after an acute political meltdown in the U.K., Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced his resignation as leader of the Conservative Party which effectively means he will not be the Prime minister. But his resignation is not clear. He remains the Prime minister until his party chooses a successor. Zimbabweans have heard Britain accusing ZANU PF of having no succession plan.
The issues in Britain now shows the world that democracy depends on who is practicing it and how he wants those he deems inferior practice it. Imagine if this was Zimbabwe. Imagine the headlines. But this is not our topic. Johnson is a resigned prime minister who remains a prime minister.
Johnson has expressed his will to remain in office as prime minister while a new leader is selected, but there is disquiet over the prospect of Johnson staying in office for any time at all. If this was Zimbabwe the world will be saying “Abuse of Power”
All eyes are now on Johnson’s successor, with speculation rife over which of the “big players” such as current or former Cabinet ministers — will announce their intention to run. This is where Diaspora stands holding their hearts in their hands literally.
Taking into account that politicians have perfected their art of parcelling out hatred towards immigrants as a winning ticket. We are going to see more campaigners turning their guns to Zimbabwean immigrants in the U.K. indeed this is a reason to shiver.
In the US, President Donald Trump used foreigners as his red carpet to the White House. In South Africa Ramaphosa did the same.
Unfortunately, UK and Europe have borrowed the skill and the foreigners have become the sacrificial lambs.
The surprise resignation which is not a resignation announcement had immediate effect on the pound, the stock market and investment portfolios.
Since the resignation or notice to resign will affect the economy, the foreigner will be blamed even for the hot summer.
The departure of Johnson spells doom for Zimbabweans and all other immigrants in the UK.
The morning trumpet has not been blown on the next general election so unexpectedly that the rumble has been felt throughout the country. The anxiety will be shifted on foreigners.
Within minutes of the announcement, spin doctors of different parties have turned the heat on the punching bags — the foreigners.
So, Zimbabweans with limited leave can remain and those without have had their heads put on the platter.
But the first tangible response was a swift rally in the pound, putting pressure on the UK stock market and equally blaming the immigrants for it.
It should be noted that: “The rising of prices in fuel and gas in Europe helped heap pressure on the UK stock market, which was already on the back foot thanks to Russia ane Ukraine
This is technical and never considered in the campaigning strategy but Johnson has been hanging on to power citing the Russian so called aggression.
The rumbles in the economy felt all over are solved by deporting the foreigners.
In this desperation by the politicians, Zimbabweans are pushed into a life of uncertainty and fear of deportation.
So the political situation indeed affect the lives of Zimbabweans, together with other immigrants in the UK.
Zimbabweans may be wondering whether they can capitalise on political events.
Yet given the recent unexpected events and outcomes, many will be nervous of gambling on this.
All this unfolded as Johnson stood at a lectern outside No. 10 Downing Street at lunchtime Thursday and announced his intention to resignation, stating that “no one in politics is remotely indispensable” and that he was “sad to be giving up the best job in the world.” This statement will remain in the books of history for a long time.
Crucially, Johnson said he would continue to serve as prime minister until a successor is chosen in a leadership contest set to take place over the coming weeks.
But given Johnson’s extraordinary fall from political grace, there is disquiet among some — both within his ruling Conservative Party and beyond over the prospect of Johnson remaining in office for any time at all.
If we are to be fair to Johnson he was not horrible to Zimbabwe and he is one Prime minister who did not make Zimbabwe is political goal. Johnson respected Zimbabwe’s sovereignty. His departure puts the whole country on sixes and sevens.
Among those expressing concern over Johnson remaining caretaker prime minister until a new leader is selected is Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng. He said he would rather Johnson goes now and urged the party to elect a new leader “as soon as practicable. But this will not happen Johnson is the prime minister until October.
What a depressing state of affairs. So much needless damage caused yet no other country comments. Imagine if this was in Zimbabwe. But whatever is happening Britain
now need a new Leader as soon as practicable. Someone who can rebuild trust, heal the country, and set out a new, sensible and consistent economic approach and map out a clear foreign policy” those who are riding on Johnson’s departure are saying
“it is beyond credulity that Mr Johnson can stay in office.” Others have said an interim prime minister should be installed to look after government business over the summer, while Parliament takes a break.
Unsurprisingly, the leader of the opposition Labour Party, Keir Starmer, has said that Johnson needs to go “completely” and that “there should be none of this nonsense about clinging on for a few months.”
If the Conservative Party does not support Johnson remaining in his post, it could recommend that the queen appoint another Conservative lawmaker as a stopgap — with current Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab likely to be a front-runner.
Allan Monks, an economist at JPMorgan, said the Conservative leadership process was likely to be completed in a matter of weeks.
“The first round is likely to start imminently and will consist of a series of votes among the party’s MPs designed to whittle down the process to two candidates (taking two weeks or less). The second round will be a ballot among party members to decide who becomes the next leader (and hence Prime Minister). This could take a further four weeks or so,” Monks said.
This implies the whole process could be completed by September — well before the Conservative Party’s annual conference.
All eyes are now on Johnson’s successor, with speculation rife over which of the “big players” — such as current or former Cabinet ministers — will announce their intention to run.
Prominent Conservatives who are seen as potential contenders include former Chancellor Rishi Sunak, former Health Secretary Sajid Javid, Defense Minister Ben Wallace and current Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, as well as other less prominent officials including Trade Minister Penny Mordaunt and former Health Minister Jeremy Hunt.
None of them have yet declared their interest in running for the top job with only Attorney General Suella Braverman announcing definitively that she is running so far.
The situation is an excuse and distraction that human rights for the immigrants are crushed while watchdogs concentrate on the current events. In the short term, immigration policy could be driven by political events, but Zimbabwean immigrants should not look beyond any noise as politicians hit the campaign trail. Nevertheless, there could be opportunities ahead. General elections create uncertainty and people do not like that. “Given that we are seeing an increase in geo-political uncertainty, Zimbabweans should prepare for increased volatility over the coming weeks.
Deportations will be increased and Zimbabweans will be used as statistics of a successful immigration policy.
Politics is one of the most important considerations in making immigration decisions.
Political decisions affect immigration policy which, in turn, impact the lives of Zimbabweans in the UK and their families who fully depend on them.
However, many commentators argue it is too dangerous to plan a strategy around the election.
It is important for Zimbabweans to look beyond political events and make plans based on their needs rather than focus on the rhetoric of political banter.
In the UK, Zimbabweans will consider it sensible to invest at home given the current national and even international uncertainty.
However, any sudden movements can carry risk – even when they seem safe.
Despite the animosity towards foreigners, the last thing one should be doing is making any hasty decisions just because Johnson might be going away in October.
So, unless Zimbabweans think that the coming leader will lead to Government policies that could directly and materially change the attitude towards foreigners, then they are probably better off doing as little as possible in the worrying field.
Diversify, diversify and diversify!
For Zimbabweans, the course of this event will only underline the need for self-sufficiency and sorting out your home ‘at home’.
Wise move is about managing the risks of the unexpected.
The results of these events have no serious change on the attitude towards the foreigners.
No matter who wins, the foreigner will be the punching bag and scapegoats.
But as the U.K.’s political future remains uncertain, the impact on sterling and financial markets will be closely watched. Both the U.K. currency and the FTSE 100 gained on news that Johnson was set to resign and remained well in the green throughout the trading day.
“The next few months in U.K. politics are difficult to call,” Kallum Pickering, senior economist at Berenberg Bank, said in a note Wednesday, saying that financial markets were likely to be rattled over the next few months and likely into the fall.
“If the fight to oust Johnson turns even messier, and it is followed by a noisy leadership contest, increased near-term uncertainty may add further downward pressure to UK risk markets and sterling.”
New UK finance minister could signal era of austerity, says Medley Global Advisors
The U.K. has been in full political meltdown mode this week with scores of officials quitting government.
The avalanche of departures was sparked by the high-profile resignations of Sunak and Javid on Tuesday. Many officials publicly stated that they no longer had confidence in Johnson’s leadership and that for the sake of the party and the country he should — must — go.
Resignations among the Conservative Party — from ministers to top officials — kept on coming Thursday until more than 50 men and women had quit their posts as the fast-moving political drama unfolded.
However, Johnson, a leader embroiled in controversy and facing a government collapse, had vehemently refused to step down, saying he had a “colossal mandate” to govern after a landslide election win in 2019. Few hours later Johnson gives a notice to vacate power in October. One point the world must understand is that Johnson’s has not resigned.
His critics respond that in the years since that vote, the public has tired of allegations of misconduct — ranging from partying within government departments during Covid lockdowns, to instances of sleaze — that have racked Johnson’s government and party over recent months.
What then will diaspora expect in these coming days. They look very dark from this angle.
Doctor And His 3 Wives
Three women sharing one man can be a recipe for disaster in any house but the wives of Professor Solwayo Ngwenya have managed to build a sisterhood which they say has defied the odd.
Their story generated a lot of debate last week after their husband, a Bulawayo renowned gynaecologist came out with his traditional side confirming that he is a happy polygamist.
While some rubbished the cultural practice which still exists in some Zimbabwean families, others argued that no three women can live in peace under one roof especially when sharing a man.
Others also debated how they equally distribute domestic duties as Prof Ngwenya reiterated that equality is the cornerstone of any successful polygamous marriage.
Chronicle caught up with the Ngwenya wives, MaMnkandla, MaMkwananzi and MaKhanye this week who openly spoke about their polygamous marriage, the good and the bad.
The youngest MaKhanye recently gave birth and was not in a position to go in depth just like the heavily pregnant MaMkwananzi, leaving MaMnkandla the senior to shed more light.
She said their marriage was unique and cannot be easily understood by anyone who is not in touch with their real culture.
“Most people are quick to claim that maybe we are being abused or that we are backward etc but the truth is polygamy is part of us as a people and there is nothing wrong with it as long as you accept the conditions and why it exists in the first place.
I knew that I would have sister wives from day one and when I was told that MaMkwananzi was joining us, I even called my family and told them that I had a sister wife,” said MaMnkandla laughing.
“Yes, we are housewives and we have no regrets so far as we understand why we are here and our duties in the Ngwenya household.
“We are not slaves, no, we actually have two domestic workers to help us with the cooking and cleaning as we have a duty to take care of all Ngwenya children.”
Prof Ngwenya has eight children and is aiming for more as his minimum target is 12.
MaMnkandla said although they take turns to spend quality time with their husband, everything of theirs is communal.
“We live in one big house, each one of us has a bedroom and a bathroom but we share the kitchen, lounge, TV area and everything in the house
We value family time so much and as such we have one television set which we share as we try and bond as sister wives and the children.”
MaMnkandla said when disputes arise, they openly resolve them amicably adding that moods are not tolerated in the household.
“You know polygamy is easily manageable when all parties take responsibility in playing their part, it works perfectly.
My sister wives are like my own biological sisters and yes, we are bound to disagree and fight but we always find a way to keep the Ngwenya household happy.”
MaMnkandla said besides being housewives, they also enjoy shopping sprees, dinner nights and family fun days which are essential in their marriage.
“It is also important that we treat all the children equally hence even when one is away, we ensure that they benefit from all shopping sprees.
We do have different fashion tastes of course but we spend equally and ensure that at least everyone gets all they want.
We normally shop as a family and then have our husband pay the bill.”
MaMnkandla said polygamy also requires one to be mature to make it work.
“It’s never about the money and benefits, it’s hard work maintaining harmony amongst three women and one man, it takes a lot of courage and determination.
We also know that we may have future sister wives who must be able to jell in and help us grow the Ngwenya clan.
If he dies as some people usually say, we will continue living together and raise the children together as been the norm in this household.”
Prof Ngwenya added that his marriage was not all about glam, extravagance and abuse of women but reliving the legacy left by his forefather Zwide kaLanga- the king of the Ndwandwe nation.
“Polygamy is not and was never about lust but safeguarding the legacy of the family which normally was deep rooted in culture.
Yes, I may be learned and all but I remain a proud polygamist, it’s more of a calling for me than anything else.
My career started off in England where I trained to be a gynaecologist and could easily thrive but no, I had this duty back home that I had to fulfil hence I came back to my roots,” said Prof Ngwenya.
“There is nothing as fulfilling as being in touch with one’s culture despite what everyone says because at the end, we need to take pride in whom we really are.”
Prof Ngwenya also said that polygamy is not for every man as some are quick to use the institution to fulfil lustful desires.
He said it is important for those in polygamous relationships to uphold morals to prevent sexually transmitted infections within the family.
“Polygamy is part of my calling as Solwayo and there are many things that a human mind cannot easily comprehend.
In my family we are accountable to each other and we try and avoid wild behaviours so that we are all safe, I mean honesty should reign.
I will rather officially marry three women, live with them than have extra marital relations, it’s not right.
I also cannot expect one woman to give me 15 children, it can’t, these people must be treated with love, respect and cared for because they play an important role in our lives as humans,” said Prof Ngwenya.
He said men should work very hard to provide for their families whether they are big or small. -Chronicle
Effects Of Road Accidents
The World Health Organization (WHO) welcomes the political declaration to be adopted by Member States during the High-level Meeting of the UN General Assembly on Global Road Safety.
It commits to cut road traffic deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030, a milestone for road safety and sustainable mobility.
The meeting takes place on 30 June – 1 July 2022 under the theme “The 2030 horizon for road safety: securing a decade of action and delivery”.
Road safety affects everyone. We step from our homes every day onto roads that take us to our jobs, schools and to meet our vital daily needs.
Yet our transport systems remain far too dangerous. No death should be acceptable on our roads. The future of mobility should promote health and well-being, protect the environment and benefit all,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, WHO. “It will require transformative leadership from the highest levels of government to act on the Political Declaration to make that vision a reality.”
Worldwide, road crashes currently kill around 1.3 million people each year – more than 2 every minute, and more than 90% occur in low- and middle-income countries. Crashes are the biggest killer of children and young people globally.
More than 50 million people have died on the world’s roads since the invention of the automobile, more than the number of deaths in the First World War or in some of the worst global epidemics.
WHO is the lead agency for road safety in the United Nations and supported the President of the UN General Assembly in preparing this High-Level Meeting in collaboration with other UN agencies.
Through the declaration governments from around the world commit to provide leadership and coordination at the highest level of government to ensure all parts of the society are included to act on road safety and commit to boost policies and actions to reduce deaths and injuries. The declaration calls for the development and funding of national and local plans with clear targets and funding.
“Road traffic deaths upend countless lives and cost countries around 3% of GDP each year,” notes Dr Etienne Krug, Director of the Department for Social Determinants of Health, WHO. “This is an unacceptable price to pay for mobility. Putting safety at the heart of our mobility systems is an urgent health, economic and moral imperative. Let’s work together to scale up what works, save lives and build streets for life.”
In September 2020, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to proclaim the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021–2030. WHO and the UN regional commissions, in cooperation with other partners in the UN Road Safety Collaboration, have developed a Global Plan for the Decade of Action, which was released in October 2021.
The plan calls for continued improvements in the design of roads and vehicles, enhancement of laws and law enforcement, and provision of timely, life-saving emergency care for the injured. In addition, it promotes healthy and environmentally sound modes of transport.
It also highlights that responsibility for road safety stretches far beyond health and transport. Urban planners and engineers must prioritize safety as a core value in all transport infrastructure while businesses can influence and contribute to strengthening road safety by applying safety-first principles to their entire value chains.
Countries and cities guided by the plan are seeing dramatic reductions in deaths. For example, the Colombian capital of Bogota halved deaths over 10 years through a set of integrated actions, including wide-ranging technical improvements and regulatory reforms that were driven by strong leadership.

ZANU PF Starts Own ZimVigil To Defend Embassy
By Dr Masimba Mavaza | At around 2pm a group of yellow clad demonstrators finally took a bite to eat. The seemingly routine meal stood out because it was their first of the day. Up until that point, the CCC members disguised as human rights activists had led a ten man strike outside Zimbabwe’s embassy in London the United Kingdom. seeking to convince the UK government not to invest in Zimbabwe.
It wasn’t CCC first such protest they started in 2005 to sing and dance outside the Zimbabwean Embassy in London to protest the government’s actions in Zimbabwe. In most cases requesting the West to slap and heap more sanctions on Zimbabwe.
It also may not be the last anyone sees of them as they are paid for demonising Zimbabwe. The told supporters that they are looking to recruit fellow losers for a larger protest to come.
Just as Zimbabwe’s well-located and iconic embassy served as the focal point of CCC and some few evil minded ire, it is a centre for international diplomacy and rich targets for protests and demonstrations from those who have always wished to demonise Zimbabwe and please their handlers. Ever since Zimbabwean government established a mission in London they have run the risk of being protested — and many of the times it is by our own people.
The aborted well published protest of the 8th July in London was led by one Patricia Chinyoka who has been paid thousands of pounds to portray Zimbabwe in a bad shape.
Patricia Chinyoka has been heard on a megaphone accusing the Zimbabwean government of killing her relatives and she urged the British government to sanction Zimbabwe regardless of the effects of the sanctions on the people of Zimbabwe. Patricia Chinyoka is a heartless blood sucking person best described as a witch or is she.
The protests usually serve as an outlet for expats, exiles and refugees who want to express solidarity with their country without running the risk of returning. This then has made Chinyoka demonise her country because she has no hope of going back to Zimbabwe. She now wants to spoil it for everybody.
Over the years, the Zimbabwean Embassy in London has been a focal point for exaggerated where greedy selfish Zimbabweans gather outside the embassy and take turns to destroy their country to please their handlers.
Zimbabwe should be used to the protests by now but it is the idea that someone who is clueless about Zimbabwe is being paid to destroy Zimbabwe which makes every right minded Zimbabwean to be angry. Members of the CCC and the fake human rights activists routinely camped out in a small square directly across the Zimbabwe house on The Strand to denounce the government’s good efforts on Zimbabwe.
In fact, allegations surfaced that Zimbabwean Ambassador and his staff were spying on the charlatans protesting outside the embassy, with an eye on harassing their family members back in Zimbabwe.
This is a wishful thinking by the protesters who would lie in order to get asylum.
The protests have also provided the British with a focal point for expressing national outrage or concern on the nationals who abuse their rights just to get a mileage against their own country.
Whether the protests accomplish anything is certainly in question, as The 8th July aborted CCC strike illustrated.
For the first time the CCC was confronted and their noise drowned by the ZANU PF U.K. members and concerned Zimbabweans who came to defend the embassy and their country.
The CCC pretenders scurried for cover as the ZANU PF members confronted them with the truth.
The lies the CCC and the fake Civil rights activists led by Chinyanga all dressed in yellow were exposed when the truth about Zimbabwe was spoken.
The most interesting thing is that their demonstrations outside the embassy has only helped to place Zimbabwe under the Sanctions.
Patricia Chinyanga and her lies have killed many Zimbabweans through her lies.
She has shown her shameless love for money where she insults Zimbabwe for a fee.
It is a pity that we have Zimbabweans who do not care what happens to the masses back home as long as they are paid. They have lied just to please their handlers. They are making more money from selling their birth rights.
How can Zimbabwe prosper with devils like Patricia Chinyanga and her team.
President Chamisa Exposes Zanu PF Plot To Rig Elections
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa has declared that citizens will not allow Zanu PF to steal the 2023 polls.
In a strong statement posted on Twitter, President Chamisa castigated the Zanu PF regime for trampling on the key values of the liberation struggle.
According to President Chamisa, the days of the “nonsense” of subverting the will of the people are over.
“IT CAN’T.Not THIS TIME! THIS TIME we won’t accept any funny games or their usual nonsense.
Zimbabwe is for all citizens not one party! The liberation struggle was for us all not just a few!
We demand total liberation, full restoration of our dignity & rights in Zimbabwe!#Thistime,” President Chamisa declared.
Zim Diasporans Clash With CIOs in London
By ZHRO Member | Brave Zimbabweans gathered at the Zimbabwean Embassy at 429 the Strand London, on Friday 8th July 2022 to peacefully protest the continued persecution of progressive citizens by the Zimbabwe govt and the supporters and members of the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) party.
The peaceful planned protest was announced by John Burke from ZHRO on Twitter spaces and on the Zimbabwe Human Rights Organisation (ZHRO) website and WhatsApp pages.
The protest was held in solidarity with those that have been arrested and remanded in custody without bail, and are now being described as Political Prisoners of conscience or the Nyatsime 13 and includes Members of Zimbabwe Parliament Job Wiwa Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole.
Also in attendance at the Embassy in what seems to have been a counter protest were members of ZANU PF.
One of those gathered voiced saying the presence of members of ZANU PF was causing them alarm and distress given the fact that ZANU members are well known for committing acts of violence on innocent unarmed citizens either with their own hands or using arms of the State.
Those that were part of the progressive citizens number approximately 15, while less than 5 of those from ZANU PF were in attendance.
The fear among some of the progressive Zimbabweans is that the photos and videos taken by the ZANU PF supporters will likely be sent to the CIO and be used to persecute their families in Zimbabwe.

CCC Puts Pressure On Mnangagwa To Release Wiwa, Sithole
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC has challenged the Zanu PF regime to release jailed party members.
Senior CCC officials Hon Job Sikhala and Hon Godfrey Sithole were denied bail by the High Court on Thursday.
CCC Nyatsime members are languishing in prison after being arrested two weeks ago.
“Today is #YellowFriday! Let’s all wear yellow in solidarity with the #Nyatsime13 who were jailed unjustly for being CCC members & demanding justice for Moreblessing Ali.
The regime wants to silence them & kill their courage. Bail is a constitutional right. #FreeTheNyatsime13,” CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere posted on Twitter.
“It is #YellowFriday! Let’s all wear yellow in solidarity with the #Nyatsime13 who are being persecuted by the regime & are in jail even though they are victims of violence and arson.
Hon #JobSikhala is in jail for representing his legal clients. Free them now,” the CCC spokesperson added.
Mnangagwa Under Pressure To Release Jailed Activists
Bail is a constitutional right! CCC Namibia fumes at Sikhala and Sithole’s further incarceration.
07 July 2022
It is crucial to applaud all change champions who showed up at the High Court of Zimbabwe in Harare today as a sure way of expressing the much-needed solidarity with the wrongly incarcerated Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala and Hon Godfrey Karakadzayi Sithole. Citizens Coalition for Change Namibia hails those who demonstrate a strong sense of unity in our confrontation with the autocratic regime. The district salutes the organic Rundu Branch Interim Secretary-General Simbarashe Ndoda and Youth Commander Ropafadzo Tsara who represented the district at the High Court today. Participatory democracy is the only panacea to socio-economic transfiguration.
Namibia district denounces the capture of the judiciary which is now openly taking instructions from the shake-shake building. We strongly believe in independent state institutions that respect the supreme law of the country. The denial of bail to our political heavyweights today at the High Court is political. The previous moment when Hon Job Sikhala was given bail at the High Court, we witnessed the terrible victimization of Erica Ndewere who eventually lost her job on Mr. Mnangagwa’s instruction.
Moreover, citizens in Namibia urge the judiciary to respect the constitution and constitutionalism. Bail is a constitutional right enshrined in the constitution of 2013.
Every citizen including Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole is entitled to bail. It is illegal and unconstitutional to deny bail to MPs, teachers, and lawyers.
We are quite disappointed in this state capture of the judiciary, which promotes the selective application of the law. Bail is only denied to the opposition politicians and activists, human rights defenders, and journalists. ZANU-PF bureaucrats rarely spend twilight in police compartments in a catch-and-release fashion.
Furthermore, we encourage citizens to peacefully demonstrate against the perpetual torture through long pre-trial detentions of yellow revolutionaries. Its citizens’ revolutionary obligation to pent up their outrage demanding the unconditional release of the diligent Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala and Hon Godfrey Sikhala. Fighting for justice and the rule of law has become the worst crime in Zimbabwe according to the ZANU-PF statute. Change champions should amplify their mouthpieces demanding justice for the imprisoned leaders. Solidarity calls for action in defense of one another during such storms.
Artuz Secretary-General Robson Chere was remanded to 28 July when he appeared before the Magistrates Court today in Harare. This means that he has to endure 21 days in the remand cells on trumped-up murder charges.
Our message is categorically clear that educators should peacefully surge advocating for the freedom of their pragmatic leader who is suffering for all and sundry. Robson Chere is not a murderer, but a labor unionist who is simply demanding a living wage of US540 per month. Is this too much to warrant such long pre-trial detention? Teachers are earning 24 loaves of bread currently hence the need to fight for emancipation from these slave wages.#FreeCdeRobo
In a nutshell, the inhabitants of Namibia believe that if people both in the motherland and the diaspora remain mute in the face of this repression and weaponization of the law, 2023 will be a bloody election. We should all unite to demand the independence of all state organizations and condemns the partisan approach by the captured judges. Citizens must seek answers to this lawfare before it harms all of us. #FreeJobSaroWiwaSikhala #FreeGodfreySithole

Former Angolan President Dies At 79
Angola’s former president Jose Eduardo dos Santos, who ruled Africa’s second biggest oil producer for nearly four decades, has died aged 79, the Angolan presidency said on Facebook on Friday.
The former president died at 11:10 am Spanish time at the Barcelona Teknon clinic following a prolonged illness, the presidency said.
A spokesperson for the Barcelona Teknon clinic where he was being treated declined to comment.
Dos Santos had been receiving medical treatment since 2019.
Portuguese news agency Lusa reported last month that the former president was admitted to an intensive care unit at a clinic in Barcelona.
One of Africa’s longest serving leaders, dos Santos stepped down five years ago. His rule was marked by a brutal civil war lasting nearly three decades against U.S.-backed UNITA rebels – which he won in 2002 – and a subsequent oil-fuelled boom.
He was replaced in 2017 by President Joao Lourenco, who despite being from the incumbent’s People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), swiftly moved to probe allegations of multi-billion dollar corruption during the dos Santos era, targeting the former leader’s children. – Reuters

Police Update On Gwanda Robbery
ZRP UPDATE ON THE ROBBERY AND SHOOTING INCIDENT IN GWANDA
Reference is made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Twitter handle post on the robbery and shooting incident which occurred on 6th July 2022 in Gwanda.
The Police reacted swiftly to a report of an armed robbery case in which four unknown male adults, armed with an unidentified firearm attacked a woman (43), who was loading some groceries in a Toyota Corolla vehicle at the parking area near a shop in Gwanda Central Business District.
The suspects threatened the complainant with the firearm and dragged her into the car. One of the suspects took charge of the complainant’s vehicle and drove off at a high speed towards the Mhakwe area, using the Old Gwanda Road.
Along the way, the suspects robbed the complainant of US$100, ZAR 1000, and ZWL$ 4000 cash as well as four cellphones before dumping her about 11 kilometres from Gwanda town.
The police tracked the suspects to Old Zimtec Gwanda after receiving a tip from the public.
They blocked the suspects’ vehicle and two of the suspects, who were in the vehicle, disembarked and charged toward the officers while pointing a firearm.
The officers fired two warning shots to scare away the suspects. However, this did not deter the suspects who kept advancing, resulting in the four being shot. Police then recovered the stolen vehicle.
Further investigations linked the suspects to three other robbery cases committed in Gwanda in June and July 2022 where Fan Cargo vehicles were stolen.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police warns robbery syndicates that the police will not fold hands while they attack individuals and institutions.
The Police will certainly account for all robbery suspects and ensure that the law takes its course.
HIV Death Rate Falls
HIV-related deaths in Zimbabwe have fallen to around 55 deaths a day, from a peak average of 350 daily fatalities in 2002, the National Aids Council (NAC) has said.
In 2021, the number of people who died of HIV-related complications was around 20 000, while in 2002 the figure was close to 130 000, according to statistics provided by NAC.
Speaking at a training workshop for news editors which is underway in Mazowe, NAC operations director, Raymond Yekeye, revealed that the bulk of new HIV infections is caused by young sex workers, particularly adolescents. He said:
A good number of newer and younger sex workers are not on antiretroviral treatment, compared to older or more experienced sex workers.
The young ones attract a high number of clients, and they have less experience in negotiating for safe sex, leaving them susceptible to new HIV infections.
The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) approved dapivirine or vaginal ring for use in the country as it helps women in preventing HIV transmission since it is hard for them to negotiate for safer sex.

Mwonzora Aides Arm-Twisted Into Signing Corrupt Deal
By-MDC-T, President Douglas Mwonzora said that Zanu PF duped his party’s Harare councillors into approving the controversial US$344 million Pomona waste-to-energy deal.
Addressing a news conference in Harare on Thursday, Mwonzora said his councillors were duped into rubberstamping the deal by the technical people at Harare City Council.
The deal, which ties down the cash-strapped city into a 30-year financial burden to Netherlands-based Geogenix BV, has been rejected by the rival CCC councillors.
The Government imposed the deal on the City of Harare with no resistance from MDC-T councillors before the election of CCC councillors in the 26 March by-elections.
Mwonzora said the deal should be renegotiated, arguing that his councillors were intellectually under-equipped to comprehend the complexities of the terms of the deal. He said:
The council during due diligence was represented by the acting town clerk who himself is an engineer.
He came with a report to council and the recommendation was that this deal is worth to be taken and at that point in time the councillors had no cause to disbelieve him.
Not only that, the councillors were told that the Attorney General, the chief legal advisor of the country, had looked at this deal and said it was okay; so they had no cause to disbelieve it.
But it did not have all the nitty gritties that are there, the financial statement, financial model and so on were not out before the councillors.
At any rate, we would not rely on the councillors’ interpretation of that because they are not technically equipped to do that, the technically equipped people did that and made recommendations.
Mwonzora said he supported the renegotiation of the deal as opposed to its complete abandonment that would see the council paying Geogenix BV US$3.5 million in damages.
According to some of the terms of the deal, Harare is obliged to pay Geogenix BV US$40 per tonne of waste delivered at the Pomona dumpsite.
The minimum daily delivery is 550 tonnes, or 200 750 tonnes per year, which equates to US$8.03 million for Geogenix BV in the first year.

PRESS STATEMENT: Mai Titi Caught In The Act Planting Evidence Into Murder
By Showbiz Reporter | The sociallite Mai Titi was on Thursday evening implicated in an attempt to hurt her colleague, Evidence Chihera after falsely claiming the latter has killed her boyfriend.
The development was revealed on Facebook live at around 7pm Zim time while Chihera was in the company of her mother and two other relatives.
Mai Titi was at the time accusing Chihera of ending the life of a man friend of hers (Chihera’s).
In the picture below, Mai Titi was caught on camera mobilising people to build a case of murder against Evidence Chihera. She would after this incident coordinate Hmetro journalists to interview a woman said to be the deceased wife to allegedly accuse Evidence Chihera of murder.
The sociallite is clearly heard on video instructing the woman on speaking, the ADWA NGO told ZimEye in a statement, “Some people continue to spread malicious rumours and totally unfounded information about the Harare sociallite, Evidence Chihera regarding her friend, Henry Tapfuma’s unexpected death.
“It has come to our attention that Felistas Murata popularly known as Mai TT went to the deceased’s house together with an HMetro news crew and told 2 ladies what to say on camera.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/284449743037000/permalink/627952398686731/
“Ms Murata also picked an elderly woman. the one who was shouting and told her what to say. Ms Murata was recorded by onlookers and pictures were also taken.
“All this was done to incriminate Evidence Jiri popularly known as Chihera on social media of murder which she never committed. A person is innocent until proven guilty by law.
“Chihera and her family tried to go and pass their condolences at the family but Ms Murata and her team of journalists told them not to go as people were very angry about what had happened.
“We are kindly asking people to refrain from continuous utterances of unfounded malicious rumours about Ms Jiri as this has caused a lot of stress to the family.
“We are kindly asking all the people circulating the staged interview story to stop and respect the family of the deceased.”

The development comes at a time when Mai Titi, real name, Felistas Murata had together with Tyra Chikosho approached the Information Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa for permission to as said, “hack anyone” who is found criticising the two on social media.
It also comes 2 years after Mai Titi was through leaked audio recordings implicated in an attempt to kidnap a Marlborough based businesswoman she had clashed with.
Speaking on video as ZimEye reveals, Chihera’s mother said,
https://www.facebook.com/groups/284449743037000/permalink/627947925353845/
“They asked us where you are you going; The Hmetro phoned us asking Chihera are you safe? Where you are going there is danger.
“We were phoned by HMetro and they warned us… maybe they were planning to destroy this car.
“If they want to kill her, …. my daughter’s hands are clean… let them go to the police and determine everything…
“Mai Titi should leave my daughter alone,” said the mum.
Her daughter swiftly came into the camera to say:
“I have to clear my name, I have fans… this is troubling us… they should just go tot he post mortem and determine for themselves… some are saying I killed her, others are saying I gave him viagra… the lodge has cameras which can be checked, said Chihera.
“I respect the late because we had a good life… you Mai Titi leave me… last time you started sayjng I am the one who killed Soul Jah Love…. you knew the truth and you started bringing an unrelated video… you can try to bring my down, you will not manage,” added Chihera.
She switched the video off after almost 10 minutes of continuous streaming.
Mai Titi had not responded to questions at the time of oublishing. Some of her followers however alleged the invitation to a treat of Chihera had no ulterior motives. ZimEye investigates
More Soldiers Promoted Ahead Of 2023 Polls
By-President Mnangagwa has promoted three Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) colonels to Brigadier-General.
Zanu PF uses top soldiers to intimidate citizens during elections.
The promotions come after Mnangagwa swore in his former deputy Kembo Mohadi’s daughter into the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission on the same day, Thursday.
The three are Canisius Moyo, George Chinoingira and Samuel Mpabanga.
Conferring the new ranks to the three during an investiture ceremony at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks, Commander ZNA, Lieutenant-General David Sigauke, called on the general officers to continue safeguarding the gains of the country’s hard won independence.
“You will continue to serve the nation with patriotism and loyalty as you have demonstrated over the years. This recognition should give you energy and strength to exhibit exemplary attributes as you pursue your various endeavours after service.
“I therefore encourage you to continue supporting Government programmes and His Excellency’s vision of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper middle income society by 2030,” Lt-Gen Sigauke said. Herald

Chiyangwa Leads Fight Against Sanctions
Acting ZIFA president Gift Banda has claimed that former boss Philip Chiyangwa is helping the football body in negotiating the lifting of the FIFA sanctions.
The local FA is under an international ban after the government interfered in the running of football.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Banda claimed that Chiyangwa was the one that facilitated the meeting with COSAFA last week.
The acting ZIFA boss said: “Phillip Chiyangwa has done a lot in a short period since we assumed office. He is the person who opened the door for us to go and meet the COSAFA President, and he is unlocking more channels for us to engage the leadership on the continent.
“We will not fail if we are with him by our side. He has assured us that he will hold our hands and walk with us as we traverse this difficult journey that we find ourselves in.”
Chiyangwa, who led ZIFA for two years since December 2016, was the COSAFA president until his five-year tenure ended in 2022.
He added: “A few weeks ago, I stepped down, and this was due to many other commitments I have here.
“But I can say his (Banda) foresight is good.
“About the ban issue, that’s why I want to work with them (ZIFA) and the government.
“I want to ensure that the ban is lifted and football is played, with everyone enjoying it.”- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Key Information About Monkeypox
Monkeypox is a disease caused by the monkeypox virus. It is a viral zoonotic disease, meaning that it can spread from animals to humans. It can also spread between people
Symptoms of monkeypox typically include a fever, intense headache, muscle aches, back pain, low energy, swollen lymph nodes and a skin rash or lesions.
The rash usually begins within one to three days of the start of a fever. Lesions can be flat or slightly raised, filled with clear or yellowish fluid, and can then crust, dry up and fall off.
The number of lesions on one person can range from a few to several thousand. The rash tends to be concentrated on the face, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. They can also be found on the mouth, genitals and eyes.
Symptoms typically last between 2 to 4 weeks and go away on their own without treatment. If you think you have symptoms that could be monkeypox, seek advice from your health care provider.
Let them know if you have had close contact with someone who has suspected or confirmed monkeypox.
Monkeypox can spread to people when they come into physical contact with an infected animal. Animal hosts include rodents and primates. The risk of catching monkeypox from animals can be reduced by avoiding unprotected contact with wild animals, especially those that are sick or dead (including their meat and blood). In endemic countries where animals carry monkeypox, any foods containing animal meat or parts should be cooked thoroughly before eating.
People with monkeypox are infectious while they have symptoms (normally for between two and four weeks). You can catch monkeypox through close physical contact with someone who has symptoms. The rash, bodily fluids (such as fluid, pus or blood from skin lesions) and scabs are particularly infectious. Clothing, bedding, towels or objects like eating utensils/dishes that have been contaminated with the virus from contact with an infected person can also infect others.
Ulcers, lesions or sores in the mouth can also be infectious, meaning the virus can spread through saliva. People who closely interact with someone who is infectious, including health workers, household members and sexual partners are therefore at greater risk for infection.
The virus can also spread from someone who is pregnant to the foetus from the placenta, or from an infected parent to child during or after birth through skin-to-skin contact.
It is not clear whether people who do not have symptoms can spread the disease.

Mai Titi Caught On Camera Mobilizing ‘Fake Murder Story’ Against Chihera

Release Wiwa, Sithole Mnangagwa Told
Angola’s Former President Dos Santos Dies
– Reuters

Footballer Arrested For Selling Crystal Meth
Harare City player, Jerry Chipangura, is in custody pending bail ruling after he was accused of being a drug dealer.
He was allegedly found in possession of crystal meth worth $200 000.
Chipangura was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate, Stanford Mambanje, who remanded him in custody to next week.
The court heard that on June 30, police received information that Chipangura was dealing in crystal meth in New Mabvuku, Harare.
Acting on the information, detectives proceeded to New Mabvuku where they found Chipangura along John Tapedza Road, Old Mabvuku, Harare.
The police introduced themselves and advised him about the purpose of their visit.
A search was conducted on the small Adidas black bag he was carrying and two sachets of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine were seized.
Chipangura was subsequently arrested and the police went to his home where further searches were conducted but nothing was recovered.
The recovered crystal meth weighed 40 grams and has a street value of $200 000.

Chiyangwa Buries Hatchet With ZIFA
Former ZIFA president Phillip Chiyangwa has pledged to work with the current football leadership to speed up the engagement processes between the local stakeholders and FIFA for a quick solution to Zimbabwe’s banishment from international football.
Chiyangwa, who recently quit football after opting against re-election as COSAFA president to concentrate on other commitments, said he was glad to assist the re-engagement processes after receiving ZIFA’s interim president Gift Banda and board members Alois Masepe and Farai Jere at his offices yesterday.
The Harare property mogul said he will make use of his contacts to try and to set up a meeting between the domestic football leadership and the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino.
ZIFA were suspended by FIFA in April after the international football organisation had ruled that the suspension of the bungling ZIFA board by the Sports and Recreation Commission constituted third party interference.
Chiyangwa said was humbled after Banda and two of his board members made the courtesy call.
“It’s important to ensure that the game is played. Of course, people may hear noise here and there but football must be the winner.
“When I became ZIFA president, my spirit was to ensure that we play football. Of course, we can fight but let’s play football. Unfortunately, in the last few years after I had left, it was just fighting, with nothing substantial coming out.
“And, turning to the issue of the FIFA suspension, that’s what I want to work with them (ZIFA) and the Government and ensure that the suspension is lifted and that football is played.
“I would want to be able to walk into a stadium, watch football and enjoy myself. I would want to see Zimbabwean teams participating and winning trophies, like we used to do during my days at ZIFA. We want to go back to the good old days.
“That’s what I promised my brother (Banda) here. For me (being involved with football) it’s now for fun because I am no longer going to be ZIFA president or president of any football organisation. I am enjoying what I am doing now. I always want to do whatever I do with satisfaction.
“When I was ZIFA president I won trophies and at COSAFA, I bet no president has performed like me. What we all want now is to restore our own Zimbabwean football on the international stage, hoping FIFA opens up and we play football. That’s why I am assisting so that the process yields results,” said Chiyangwa.
To show his commitment, Chiyangwa engineered the recent meeting between the ZIFA interim president Banda and the new COSAFA president Artur De Almeida in South Africa, where Banda took the opportunity to explain Zimbabwe’s position and solicit for support.
ZIFA are currently under FIFA suspension and the authorities have been putting in place structures and systems to rid the game of the corruption that had tainted the Felton Kamambo leadership before they were booted out by the Sports Commission. FIFA have set stringent conditions for reinstatement, which included the restoration of the ZIFA executive committee. The board has since been reinstated following the Extraordinary General Meeting that resulted in the revocation of Kamambo’s mandate along with board members Philemon Machana and Bryton Malandule.
Banda was elevated to the position of acting president at that indaba. Although FIFA are still to make their next move, Chiyangwa sounded confident that a solution will be found soon.

PSMAS Hit Out At Govt Over Witch Hunt
PREMIER Service Medical Aid Society (Psmas) board members have accused government of witch-hunting by using the Regulator of Medical Aid Societies (RMAS) to conduct a forensic audit on the service provider.
Vice-President and Health minister Constantino Chiwenga in May announced that “RMAS has informed both government and Psmas board that it has ordered a forensic audit of Psmas in order to satisfy itself that the society is operating properly and in keeping with its mandate”.
However, board members opposed to the forensic audit accused government of trying to determine the outcome of the audit through choosing the person to head the audit and paying that person for the services.
“It is part of the grand plan to impose their (government) proposals on the company. The secretary in the Ministry of Health Jasper Chimedza is leading the audit, but he is also an interested party. He has his own private practice that deals directly with the company. He is our service provider, so he cannot be partial,” Zimbabwe Confederation of Public Sector Trade Unions (formerly Apex Council) secretary David Dzatsunga, who is one of the board members, told NewsDay.
Dzatsunga said the dossier which triggered the forensic audit originated from the Public Service Commission, in what he described as a well-calculated move by government to take over Psmas.
“Government removed three board members and replaced them with high-ranking officials who came with a mandate to take over Psmas. We have been resisting them and now they are on a witch-hunt,” he said.
Public Service Commissioner Tendai Choruma denied that government wanted to take over the company and accused other board members of being activists.
“Some members of the Psmas board appear to have become conflicted as they have launched a puzzling activism that claims that government, which extends significant funding to its employees to support their access to healthcare through the Psmas card, and which has injected $5,2 billion into Psmas since January 2022, intends to ‘take over’ Psmas,” he said.
Choruma accused other board members of trying to deflect attention from core Psmas issues through “ill-conceived posturing”.
This came as two factions, comprising members seconded to the Psmas board by government on one hand and those from civil servants unions, are involved in fights to control the medical aid society, the largest in the country.
Meanwhile, the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) yesterday said Psmas management should step aside to allow for the forensic audit by RMAS.
In a statement, PTUZ secretary-general Raymond Majongwe said: “As a union, we believe it is necessary for the management of Psmas to step aside and allow for independent auditors to do a forensic audit of the organisation and its operations. We strongly believe that government should allow this audit to happen without interference and that whatever the outcome that we get therefrom should be for the benefit of members of Psmas.”

Human Rights Lawyer Takes Prison Bosses To Court Over Abuse Of Power
By A Correspondent| Human rights lawyer Roselyn Hanzi has asked the High Court to stop Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) from barring herfrom consulting in private with her clients who are detained at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison.
On 4 July 2022, Hanzi, who is the Executive Director of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), was denied access to her two clients Zengeza West constituency legislator Job Sikhala and Chitungwiza North constituency legislator Godfrey Sithole by Superintendent Moses Gukurume, the Officer In Charge of Chikurubi Maximum SecurityPrison.
In an urgent chamber application filed on Tuesday 5 July 2022, Hanzi, who is represented by Obey Shava and Paidamoyo Saurombe of ZLHR,argued that prisoners have a right to consult in private with their lawyers as provided in Section 50(5)(b) of the Constitution and wants the refusal by ZPCS to allow her access to her clients to be declared unlawful.
The human rights lawyer wants the High Court to order ZPCS to allow her to consult in private with her clients and to compel authorities at the correctional facility to act in line with provisions of the Constitution which provides that detained persons have a right to consult in the sight but not the hearing of a prison officer as provided in the Constitution and in prison regulations.
Hanzi cited ZPCS Commissioner-General Moses Chihobvu, Justice Legaland Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi and the Officer in Charge of Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison as respondents in the application.
Hon. Sikhala and Hon. Sithole were arrested on 14 June 2022 by Zimbabwe Republic Police officers, who charged them with incitement to commit public violence as defined in section 187(1)(a) as read with section 36(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
Prosecutors argued that Sikhala recorded and circulated a video urging people to commit acts of public violence in seeking revenge forthe death of Moreblessing Ali, who was murdered in Nyatsime area inBeatrice.

Social media was plunged into a frenzy after socialite Joey Nyikadzino posted a picture of herself standing in front of a car that is similar to Mai TT’s.
She captioned the picture:
Never re-friend a person that has tried to destroy you once.
A snake only shed its skin to become a bigger snake.
Copied from Ashford Ashbragger Chimombe.
She faced criticism from social media users who accused her of intending to show off that her car looks that Mai TT’s car.
One of the responses came from Mai Sean na Bobo who wrote:
But pa fair wanga uchida kuti tione kuti mota yako yakafanana neyamai tt ummmm ddnt expect that from u u are better than that.
Nyikadzino had to defend herself and said she once posted pictures of the car before.
Following the drama, a car dealer by the name Jonathan Matewo, who was dragged into the issues, took to his Facebook page and wrote:
Waking up to some b/s tags on fb, l feel like i have to clear the air on this one. I imported the Mazda CX5 from Japan on behalf of Joey Nyikadzino. What happened after that is non of my damn business..
Nyikadzino has since taken to her Facebook page and announced that she has sealed a deal with a local car sale. She also congratulated the new owner of the car.
She wrote:

Hopewell Chin’ono Chastises CCC Leaders
By Hopewell Chin’ono|The court was packed in the morning and afternoon. The top CCC leadership that I saw were Fadzayi Mahere, Tendai Biti, Jacob Mafume and Herbert Gomba.
Can you imagine an EFF senior leaders bail application without a court packed with its top leadership?
The truth is most CCC leaders turn up when they know that Nelson Chamisa is coming.
Daniel Molokele traveled from Whange to see these guys yet those who live in Harare don’t turn up.
You are letting down your colleagues guys, and it is bad and demoralizing to us all!
A lot of opposition prospective candidates are not doing any work because they know that they will win in urban areas on the back of ZANUPF’s unpopularity, and Nelson Chamisa’s popularity!
It breaks my heart that Dr Alex Magaisa worked harder than those running for office.
The few people fighting hard in the opposition are targeted as is happening to Job Sikhala and Fadzayi Mahere. They are constantly in courts.
The laziness of many opposition leaders to work hard makes it easier for those working hard to be targeted by the brutal regime!
Nelson Chamisa must make sure that parliament and councils are not used as jobs by opposition leaders.
We are in a struggle to end corruption, looting and plunder of the country’s natural resources!
Are you seeing the opposition leaders fighting in your communities or here?
Today ZEC appointed kids of ZANUPF leaders as commissioners, something that will trigger rigging, are you seeing the opposition leaders screaming about it except Fadzayi Mahere and a few others?
They don’t care because they are assured of their parliamentary seats!.
Things are worse in Zimbabwe not only because of ZANUPF’s corrupt rule, but also because of the opposition’s incompetence and failure to fight on the frontline.
People like Pedzisai Ruhanya and myself fight against corruption as if we are the ones wanting to go into parliament!
If opposition leaders don’t change their ways, 2023 will be another missed goal resulting in more suffering.
What is the point of fighting when the leaders are not even doing anything?Nelson Chamisa needs everyone’s help, WAKE UP opposition leaders.
Fight for change not jobs, don’t rely on Chamisa’s popularity without doing any work!
Lamba, Africa’s Second Richest Man in Africa
By Teddy Mkwesha| With the world slowly moving away from fuel powered vehicles, the future is in electric vehicles.

Elon Musk is now the world’s richest man thanks to his foresight and investment in Tesla. The company has seen its shares quadrupling in recent years.
Another man who has been silently building his empire in the electric motor industry is Dr Mandla Lamba.
Lamba owns 77.5 percent of Agilitee, which is currently valued at $15.5 billion, making him Africa’s second richest man after Aliko Dangote.
Meet Dr. Mandla Lamba, Africa’s $15.5 billion man and the founder of Africa’s first Electric Vehicle Manufacturer, AI and Green Tech Company Agilitee. Agilitee is currently preparing for a Johannesburg Stock Exchange IPO, which will be the first EV, AI, and Green Tech IPO in Africa.
The IPO will value Agilitee at $20 billion, making the founder extremely wealthy.
Agilitee, Africa’s pioneer in electric vehicles and green technology, has set out on a mission to create millionaires on the continent through public listing.
The green technology and electric vehicle manufacturer recently opened operations in Zimbabwe and plans to expand into Malawi, Kenya, and Ghana before beginning its long-delayed dealership in Zambia.
Agilitee, one of Africa’s fast growing green technology and electric vehicle manufacturing companies, is poised to lead the revolution on the continent after announcing a female Chief Executive Officer in Bonisile Roberts to lead the entity earlier this year.
With an initial public offering (IPO) value of $20 billion, it hopes to raise $2 billion by selling 10% of its equity through the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
The tech industry has been responsible for the majority of the outstanding IPOs in recent years, raising billions of dollars through IPOs in China and the United States.
Agilitee is not only a technology company but also a green technology company that operates in the electric vehicle space, which puts the company in a very strategic and good position to attract major investors.
Could the success of Agilitee’s IPO create some millionaires in Africa, as China and the US have done?
Already, the firm is offering another 10% worth $2 billion to Africa’s less fortunate, with the long-term goal of creating millionaires to alleviate poverty in Africa.
After launching its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in June 2022, Agilitee Pvt Ltd is eyeing secondary listings in Europe and the United States of America.
The IPO, which aims to raise US$2 billion for a 10% stake in the company, makes Dr. Lamba the first African green tech revolution billionaire in US dollar terms.
When asked about the company’s post-IPO strategy, Dr Lamba, who recently appeared on the cover of one of Africa’s leading magazines, the Leadership, said, “We will look for secondary listing maybe in the UK, America, and Europe in a year after the completion of the IPO.” It will depend on where the majority of the $2 billion comes from.”
Dr. Lamba’s firm announced the appointment of AcaciaCap Advisors, a JSE approved sponsor for Main Board companies that also serves as a Designated Advisor for AltX listed companies, in June 2022.
Agilitee intends to raise a total of $2 billion in equity capital through the IPO of its entire business, which will be conducted through a global capital raising roadshow.
The company has recently completed its transformation from a regional to a global player.
Agilitee has now formed regional structures under it, the first of which is Agilitee Africa, which covers the entire continent of Africa.
The company has also formed Agilitee America, which covers the entire continent of North America, and Agilitee Asia, which covers the entire continent of Asia.
In the next 12 months, the company plans to establish Agilitee Europe, Agilitee UK, Agilitee UAE, and Agilitee South America.
Zim On Solid Ground To Insure Agric Sector Against Droughts
AFRICAN Risk Capacity(ARC) Limited intends to invest US$100 million towards agriculture insurance in Zimbabwe, as it broadens its African footprint and interventions to improve the strategically key sector’s resilience in the face of climate change.
ARC is a specialised agency of the African Union (AU) established to help African Governments to enhance their capacities to better plan, prepare and respond to the extreme weather events and natural disasters.
The agency predominantly works with governments, humanitarian agencies and small to medium farmers across the continent, but intends to broaden its services in the country through collaborations with local insurance companies.
Operating across 35 countries on the continent, ARC is one of the largest agriculture reinsurance players in Africa.
Zimbabwe has been a beneficiary of ARC’s initiatives but at the government level, which received US$2 4 million to cover claims from the 2019 drought.
The organisation made notable insurance claim disbursements were recently made towards Madagascar which was paid US$10, 7 million after falling victim to a severe tropical cyclone.
In June ARC paid US$14,2 million claims to Malawi and US$5,3 million to Zambia after two countries experienced drought this year.
According to ARC chief executive Leslie Ndlovu, the agency is motivated to enter the Zimbabwean private sector market given the importance of agriculture to the country, which is the mainstay of the local economy, hence the great potential to be receptive to services.
Announcing the plans on Wednesday, Mr Ndlovu said ACR intended to work with the entire insurance industry, including brokers, but mainly reinsurers, with the overall goal of enhancing the affordability of agriculture insurance products to the generality of the local population.
He said his organisation intended to reinforce the message that Africa needed to be prepared for natural disasters while at the same time availing financing mechanisms that minimise the negative impact of extreme weather conditions when they occur.
“We are in Zimbabwe to meet with our partners to map out ways of cooperation, at the moment we have US$100 million that we put at the service of the market, with our value proposition we then come to the local market, work with local partners with the express intention of increasing the number of farmers that have access to insurance.

Hard Pressed Nurses Demand Cash From Patients
SOME public health workers, who include doctors and nurses, have reportedly devised a well-knit scam to milk cash from desperate patients to supplement their meagre salaries.
Those involved allegedly give preferential treatment and attention to patients who pay staff on duty hard cash, while those who do not pay them were neglected.
Information at hand suggests that nurses and doctors as well as pharmacy and general staff at public hospitals and clinics were also supplying stolen drugs, usually at cheap prices.
Nurses and doctors who spoke to NewsDay confirmed the growing culture of cashing in on desperate patients.
“It can take you hours to be attended by a doctor, if at all you see one and the reality is that the bulk of our citizens don’t have the medical aid or US$40 to see a private doctor,” said a medical doctor based at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
“To get attention quickly, you pay US$10 or so, then you are examined and get your prescription. If you don’t pay you will wait and perhaps only get an appointment to see a doctor six months from that day.”
An official at Parirenyatwa said he gets numerous calls from relatives, friends and their colleagues for assistance. “They offer money or just ask for help to expedite their treatment process,” the official said.
Sincere Shamu, from the public relations department at Parirenyatwa Hospital confirmed receipt of the NewsDay inquiries and promised to respond. There was, however, no response when NewsDay made a follow up last night.
Doctors at public hospitals are said to be in the habit of using public hospitals to further their personal business, referring the bulk of patients to specialists where they have interests.
“Doctors use nurses to advise patients of alternative facilities nearby and we will tell you to go for a scan and sometimes recommend certain places and when you go there with the proof we are paid at least US$5 per patient. This happens with private doctors as well,” said a nurse at Sally Mugabe Hospital (formerly Harare Hospital).
Responding to questions from NewsDay yesterday Zimbabwe Professional Nurses Union president Robert Chiduku said there was no excuse for such crooked behaviour.
“I can only attribute that to lack of honesty and integrity. There is no justification for fraudulent activity, no matter the situation, so it is attributable to an individual’s crookedness,” Chiduku said.
Zimbabwe Nurses Association (Zina) leader Enock Dongo, however, denied the allegations against his members and doctors, saying staff and equipment shortages caused long queues and service delays at public hospitals.
“There is a brain drain and you will find hundreds of patients waiting to be served by two or three nurses and because there is no equipment the nurses might be sharing one thermometer and they spend three minutes or more per patient just for the temperature check,” Dongo said.
The Zina leader, however, added: “It is not true in the sense that doctors and nurses are dealing with poor people, where will they find money to pay bribes? There might be a few bad apples, but I must say that there is something terribly wrong when these doctors and nurses who are professionals accept US$2 as a bribe.
The government must pay health workers well so that they are not lured by US$2,When reached for comment, the Health Services Board chairperson Paulinus Sikhosana said: “I am a bit busy now. Can you call me later?.” Sikosana said.

Early Bonus For Opposition Ahead Of 2023
Opposition parties have been given an early bonus ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections as factionalism is tearing ZANU PF Matebeleland South Province apart.
The party chairperson Mangaliso Ndlovu, who is also Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Environment is being accused of fuelling divisions in the party.
Sources close to this publication said Ndlovu is taking advantage of his position in the party and government to decampaign some of his colleagues.
A war veteran who spoke to Bulawayo24.com on condition of anonymity said Mangaliso intends to replace all sitting ZANU PF MPs in Matebeleland South with his ‘Trojan horses’.
Painfully, the said “horses” are immature and not public appealing.
“Some of these boys that the Minister want to impose to the public are not even known in their cells. The Minister is putting the party at risk as those that he wants out are hardworking cadres who have a traceable history in the party”, said the war veteran.
Pressed to disclose more about the alleged accusations, the war veteran figured out Bulilima West constituency.
“In Bulilima West, the Minister is going around imposing one Lulwamani Nleya at the expense of the incumbent Cde Dingimuzi Phuthi”,he said.
Another party member only identified as Mandlovu said if the party would decide to go by Lulwamani, then it could as well have donated the party to the opposition.
“Umfana okhulunywa ngaye asimazi, sizwa bethi ungene kuma cells lonyaka (we don’t know the boy they are talking about, we hear he joined the party recently)”Phuthi is a selfless, hardworking and committed young man who is always with the people and not behind the desk”, said the woman.
Lulwamani Nleya is said to be the son to the late former MP for the constituency Cde Lungisani Nleya.
Efforts to get the comment from Mangaliso were fruitless as his mobile phone was not reachable.

Game Over For Opposition As Mohadi’s Daughter Is Appointed Elections Referee
FORMER Vice President Kembo Mohadi’s daughter Abigail Ambrose has been appointed and sworn in as a Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) commissioner, in a move opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has described as unconstitutional.
The appointment of Abigail, who is Mohadi’s daughter from ex-wife Tambudzani has raised questions around the election management body’s independence.
Despite having resigned from government, Mohadi is still Zanu-PF vice president.
CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said the appointment should be reversed.
“This unconstitutional appointment calls into serious question the credibility of ZEC.
“The Constitution explicitly requires ZEC to be independent and non-partisan. This flagrant appearance of bias violates the constitutional imperative. The appointment must be rescinded forthwith,” said Mahere.
Abigail’s is married to Malcom Ambrose. They got married in 2014 at a plush wedding that saw top Zanu-PF officials in attendance showering praises on and the husband.
Human rights lawyer Obey Shava said the move did not inspire confidence in the commission.
“The appointment of Mohadi’s daughter as a ZEC commissioner goes to the root of its intergrity as an independent commission. This move has deprived ZEC of any good repute. It does not inspire confidence that would supervise any free and fair electoral processes,” said Shava.

Mai Titi In Evidence Chihera Assassination Allegation Storm
By Showbiz Reporter | Comedian Mai Titi has been implicated in an attempt to eliminate fellow socialite Evidence Chihera during an aborted treat.
The development was revealed Wednesday on Facebook live at around 7pm Zimbabwe time when Chihera was in the company of her mother and two other relatives.
Mai Titi was at the time accusing Chihera of ending the life of a friend of hers (Chihera’s).
The development also comes at a time when Mai Titi, real name, Felistas Murata, and Tyra Chikosho recently approached the Information Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, for permission to “hack anyone” found criticising the two on social media.
It also comes two years after Mai Titi was, through leaked audio recordings, implicated in an attempt to kidnap a Marlborough-based businesswoman.
Speaking on a video seen by ZimEye r, Chihera’s mother said,
“They asked us where you are going; The H-metro phoned us asking Chihera are you safe? Where you are going, there is danger.
“We were phoned by H-Metro and they warned us… maybe they were planning to destroy this car.
Mai Titi had not responded to questions at the time of publishing. Some of her followers, however, alleged the invitation to a treat of Chihera had no ulterior motives. ZimEye investigates

ZRP Statement On Gwanda Robbery
Mnangagwa Makes Kembo Mohadi’s Daughter ZEC Commissioner
By- President Emerson Mnangagwa has sworn in his former deputy Kembo Mohadi’s daughter as a commissioner in the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.
On Thursday, Abigail Millicent Ambrose was among the five new ZEC commissioners Mnangagwa swore in at State House.
Ambrose is the co-ZANU PF Second Secretary’s daughter from his marriage to ex-wife Tambudzani Mohadi.
She is married to a professional hunter and former pig-farmer Malcolm Ambrose.
The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) said Ambrose’s appointment raises conflict of interest issues. CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said:
This raises serious conflict of interest issues and goes to the root of the constitutional imperative for ZEC to be independent and non-partisan.
The unacceptable appearance of ZANU PF bias is impossible to shake off in the circumstances.
Rest assured, we will challenge this as we continue to fight for electoral reforms ahead of the landmark elections in 2023.
The other ZEC officials who took the oath of office this Thursday are Catherine Mpofu, Jane Mbetu Nzvenga, Kudzai Shava, Rosewita Murutare and Shepard Manhivi.

CAF Bans Zambia’s Women National Team Captain
Zambian national women’s team captain Barbra Banda has been blocked from participating in the Africa Women’s Cup Of Nations (Awcon) tournament due to high testosterone levels in her body.
Banda, 22, was one of four players omitted from Zambia’s final AWCON squad after refusing to undergo hormone suppression treatment, after her testosterone levels were said to be above the Confederation of African Football’s limit for the tournament.
“Our medics engaged the players and they weren’t willing to go through with it — I think there are possible side effects,” FAZ communications director Sydney Mungala told ESPN.
“With the players not going down that route and taking up that option, the final decision was that they could not be included in the final list for the competition.”
CAF’s stringent’ testosterone testing is based on the FIFA’s “gender verification” regulations released in 2011.
The measures require soccer federations to “actively investigate any perceived deviation in secondary sex characteristics.”
Mungala said the Zambian FA is now working towards a long-term solution on the issue.
He added: “Our FA President [Andrew Kamanga] is in Morocco and has been pursuing this matter with his colleagues in CAF.
“The Barbra case is just one example, but the broader picture is to strive to see how these regulations can be more responsible for the general situation — not just Zambia.
“Many players can be affected by these regulations, and football is their livelihood. I think the CAF regulations are a lot more stringent [than Olympic regulations], and they put too much stress on testosterone levels.”- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe
Wiwa Denied Bail
By- The High Court Has denied opposition CCC legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole bail.
The duo had approached the higher court appealing against a magistrate’s decision not to grant them bail pending trial two weeks ago.
They are accused of mobilising their party supporters to unleash violence in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza, during a memorial service for Moreblessing Ali.
They unsuccessfully applied for bail before the Harare magistrates’ courts ruled that the legislators were a threat to public security and were likely to re-offend if released on bail.
Ali, was abducted by a Zanu PF activist outside a nightclub in Nyatsime on May 14.
Her dismembered remains were discovered in a disused well at a farm in Beatrice, about 10km away from where she was taken.
COVID-19 Daily Update

55 Die Of HIV Daily

Java Speaks On Chitungwiza Hit And Run Accident
By Passion Java
It is with much sadness reminiscing the Seke Road accident. The woman deceased could be my sister, wife or my mother. Painful painful painful it is.
Although I wasn’t there at the scene, the driver works for me and is acutely traumatized. As of now, I can’t explain the accident as it’s still under police investigation.
However, we must all respect the deceased and her loved ones by being loving and human as we post comments. Death is no joke and nothing to gain social media stats from.
I extend my plea to sympathize with her family and the honour of giving her kids scholarships if she left any. I’m still recouping from the whole ordeal but I send my impassioned message to the bereaved”.

Effects Of Road Traffic Accidents

Mnangagwa Promotes Soldiers
Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday promoted three Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) colonels to the rank of Brigadier-General.
The promotions are in terms of the Defence Act.
The three veterans of the liberation struggle are Canisius Moyo, George Chinoingira and Samuel Mpabanga.
-Herald
Sikhala, Sithole Denied Bail By High Court
Perrance Shiri’s Estate
Some relatives of the late former Lands and Agriculture minister Perrance Shiri appear to have acquired multiple names to fraudulently benefit from the national hero’s estate.
A wrangle over the administration of the Estate has spilled into the courts amid claims that some children reportedly not biological were listed as beneficiaries through “forged documents.”
One of Shiri’s children, Rufaro Stephanie, in 2020 challenged the alleged fraudulent administration of her father’s estate at the High Court under case number HC 399/20 reference DR1022/20.
Shiri’s five children who are Tatenda, Cynthia, Rufaro Stephanie (all with the Shiri surname), Tawanda Zulu and Tanaka Musvamhiri were listed as the beneficiaries to his estate.
Tawanda and Tanaka’s paternities to the late minister were in doubt because they do not carry the Shiri surname.
According to a document seen by NewsDay, on September 24, 2020, Tanaka Stephan Musvamhiri conducted DNA tests with her alleged uncle Whiteford Chikerema to prove her paternity to the late minister.
Information gathered showed that Whiteford Chikerema was named Cosmas Chikerema as a legal guardian in Shiri’s 1995 Will that bequeathed 50% of his bank savings, insurance policies to his now late son Titus and the other half of savings to his children Tatenda and Cynthia, and all his other children who were yet to be born and to come.
The same Cosmas Chikerema is also identified as Whitehead Chikerema according to his identity particulars seen by NewsDay.
Rufaro Stephanie has queried why Chikerema would use three different names in affairs to do with her father’s estate.
“Tanaka only had DNA tests done on the 24th of September in 2020 two months after my father’s death with a Whiteford Chikerema who is my father’s biological brother who has since acquired three names since the death of my father,” Rufaro said.
“Cosmas Chikerema is the name everyone knows in the family and the name present in the 1995 Will confirms him as the legal guardian, Whitehead Chikerema and Whiteford Chikerema also being other names obtained for (unknown) purposes in the estate of my late father.
“The DNA test results confirm the percentage of their relatedness as 99% so is it that Tanaka really doesn’t know who her father is or she is still in denial and would have preferred my late father? The DNA suggests her biological father is Whiteford Chikerema and she is a member of the Chikerema family not ‘Shiri’ family.”
In an interview with NewsDay, Tanaka curtly said: “I have no comment on that issue anymore. The law will take its course.”
In response to Rufaro’s doubt on her paternity, in a letter dated June 1, 2021 addressed to the Master of the High Court, Tanaka confirmed that she never stayed with the deceased, but had joined the Shiri family after his death.
Rufaro also wonders why her father would have considered giving his daughters the Shiri surname while Tawanda kept the Zulu name despite her being the heir to his clan name, according to tradition.
Last week, Tanaka filed a case at the High Court seeking to compel Rufaro and Tawanda to undergo a DNA test to ascertain their paternity to Shiri.
But Rufaro said her paternity was not in doubt.
No comment could be obtained from Zulu as he continuously rejected calls from NewsDay.
Peter Zimondi, who reportedly regarded himself as the legal guardian of Shiri’s children yesterday distanced himself from the estate wrangle.
“I have nothing to do with it,” he said. “Only his children are involved and they will solve it on their own. I am not Shiri’s child so I am not involved.”
Contacted for comment, Benjamin Chikerema initially confirmed he was Benjamin, but later said he had answered the phone on Benjamin’s behalf because he was away. -Newsday

Sikhala, Sithole Persecution Continues
By- CCC legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole’s state persecution persisted Thursday after the High court denied them bail.
Mphoko’s Son Defends Dad’s 18 Months Of Looting
By- Former Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko’s son, Siqokoqela, has defended his father’s one-and-a-half-year stay in a hotel at taxpayers’ expense.
Mphoko stayed in a hotel for more than a year after he was appointed Vice President by the late former president Robert Mugabe in 2014.
Siqokoqela said the arrangement allowed the Government to save a lot of money for taxpayers as his father didn’t have a maid, a lot of security, and electricity bills, among other expenses.
He was speaking during an online programme, This Morning on Asakhe, hosted by CITE on Twitter Space on Monday. Siqokoqela said:
When I used to go up to Harare, I would meet him at the Rainbow Towers, but that was a government-owned hotel.
Having stayed in a hotel now, how much does it cost for him to stay in one room? Do you think this man never wanted to walk out in a garden?
You think he didn’t want to breathe the fresh air, he didn’t want to be on the top floor or something, so that’s no. He was at a hotel.
He stayed in a hotel for about a year and a half or something while they were looking for suitable accommodation for him.
He said his father had offered to go and stay in his house in Mount Pleasant. Added Siqokoqela:
But look how much it cost? He actually saved a lot of money for the taxpayers.
The Government actually saved a lot of money for taxpayers while he was taking a hotel because he didn’t have a maid, he didn’t have that security around him.
If he stayed in a mansion, you would pay 10 times more than the electricity bills.
A listener identified as Douglas Mandaza said Siqokoqela was justifying the Government’s profligacy because his father is still benefiting from the system. Said Mandaza:
His father probably benefited; he is not going to say much. He probably benefited from the new Government.
That’s why he still has the security. That’s why he still has the vehicles from the Government.
So if he’s eating, you will probably be quiet. Hence he’s coming in here and justifying what the Government is doing.

LEAKED: Mai Titi Implicated In Plot To Allegedly Kill Evidence Chihera
By Showbiz Reporter | The sociallite Mai Titi was on Thursday evening implicated in an attempt to harm colleague, Evidence Chihera after her friends had invited the latter saying they want to treat her.
The development was revealed on Facebook live at around 7pm Zim time while Chihera was in the company of her mother and two other relatives.
Mai Titi was at the time accusing Chihera of ending the life of a friend of hers (Chihera’s).
The development comes at a time when Mai Titi, real name, Felistas Murata had together with Tyra Chikosho approached the Intormation Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa for permission to as said, “hack anyone” who is found criticising the two on social media.
It also comes 2 years after Mai Titi was through leaked audio recordings implicated in an attempt to kidnap a Marlborough based businesswoman.
Speaking on video as ZimEye reveals, Chihera’s mother said,
“They asked us where you are you going; The Hmetro phoned us asking Chihera are you safe?

Boris Johnson Quits After Dumped By Loyalists
By CNN- British Priminister Boris Johnson has resigned following a revolt within his Conservative Party after several ministers had thrown in towels.
Boris said in an address to the nation that the process of choosing a new prime minister “should begin now.”
“It is clearly now the will of the parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader of that party and therefore, a new prime minister,” said Johnson.
“The process of choosing that new leader should begin now,” he added, saying the time line will be announced next week.
Johnson is not planning to leave office immediately, however. “I’ve today appointed a cabinet to serve, as I will, until a new leader is in place,” he said, in a televised speech outside 10 Downing Street. Appointing new cabinet ministers means that the government can continue to function as he prepares to depart.
Johnson spoke of his attempts to stay on as leader and how “painful” it is for him to step down, but made no mention of the scandals that have proved his political downfall.
“In the last few days, I’ve tried to persuade my colleagues that it would be eccentric to change governments when we’re delivering so much… and when the economic scene is so difficult domestically and internationally,” Johnson said.
“I regret not to have been successful in those arguments, and of course, it’s painful, not to be able to see through so many ideas and projects myself,” he said, adding that he’s proud of “getting Brexit done” and “leading the West in standing up to Putin’s aggression in Ukraine.”
Johnson went on to address voters directly, and expressed his sadness at stepping down after nearly three years in the role.
“To you, the British public: I know that there will be many people who are relieved and, perhaps, quite a few will also be disappointed,” he said. “And I want you to know how sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world, but them’s the breaks.”
Johnson has in recent months been engulfed in a series of scandals that forced even his most stalwart supporters to abandon him.
Nearly 60 members of the government — including five cabinet ministers — have resigned since Tuesday, furious about the botched handling of the resignation by Johnson’s former deputy chief whip, Chris Pincher, who was accused of groping two men last week.
Johnson initially attempted to ride out the crisis — despite an unprecedented flight of middle-ranking ministers from the government, a battering at Prime Minister’s Questions and a bruising appearance before a committee of senior lawmakers in Parliament. On Wednesday, he still insisted he wasn’t going to resign.
But Johnson finally gave in Thursday after some of his most loyal allies told him that the game was up.
UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said Johnson had made the “right decision” to resign. “We need calmness and unity now and to keep governing while a new leader is found,” she added.
Greg Clark, newly appointed UK Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, said that he had a “duty to ensure that the country has a functioning government.”
The leader of the opposition Labour Party, Keir Starmer, said it was “good news for the country” that Johnson had decided to resign, adding that “it should have happened long ago.”
“He was always unfit for office. He has been responsible for lies, scandal and fraud on an industrial scale,” said Starmer on Twitter.
The opposition leader also had scathing words for the Conservatives. “They have been in power for 12 years. The damage they have done is profound. Twelve years of economic stagnation. Twelve years of declining public services. Twelve years of empty promises,” Starmer said.
“Enough is enough. We don’t need to change the Tory at the top — we need a proper change of government. We need a fresh start for Britain.”
‘Needless damage’ While Johnson has announced his resignation as Conservative Party leader, it is possible that he will remain as Prime Minister until October, when the party meets for its annual conference.
Conventionally, when a Conservative leader resigns, he or she gives the party time to hold a thorough leadership contest.
But some said Johnson should leave office more quickly.
“We now need a new Leader as soon as practicable,” Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said on Twitter. “Someone who can rebuild trust, heal the country, and set out a new, sensible and consistent economic approach to help families,” he added.
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also called for the leadership question to be settled.
“There will be a widespread sense of relief that the chaos of the last few days (indeed months) will come to an end, though notion of Boris Johnson staying on as PM until autumn seems far from ideal, and surely not sustainable?” Sturgeon said in a series of tweets.
Conservative MP Steve Baker told CNN that the party needs “to move swiftly to a leadership contest.”
Baker said Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab should be caretaker prime minister, but that Johnson could also continue in office.
“I am absolutely determined that we should not prolong this crisis. If it’s agreed within government that Boris Johnson should continue as caretaker, then that’s fine with me,” Baker told CNN. “Because we need to just end the crisis, get into a leadership contest, and start fresh in September.”
Baker had earlier told the BBC that he was “seriously thinking” about standing in the contest.
Barrage of criticism Johnson’s departure will mark a remarkable downfall for a Prime Minister who was once seen as having political superpowers, with an appeal that transcended traditional party lines.
He won a landslide victory in December 2019 on the promise of delivering a Brexit deal and leading the UK to a bright future outside the European Union. But his premiership unraveled in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In recent months the Prime Minister has faced a barrage of criticism from all sides over his conduct and that of some members of his government, including illegal, Covid-19 lockdown-breaking parties thrown in his Downing Street offices for which he and others were fined.
Numerous other scandals have also hit his standing in the polls. These include accusations of using donor money inappropriately to pay for a refurbishment of his Downing Street home and ordering MPs to vote in such a way that would protect a colleague who had breached lobbying rules.
Last month, he survived a confidence vote among members of his own party, but the final count of his lawmakers who rebelled against him was higher than his supporters expected: 41% of his own parliamentary party refused to back him.
He suffered a further blow late last month when his party lost two parliamentary by-elections in a single night, raising new questions about his leadership.
His reputation was also dented by the resignation of his second ethics adviser in less than two years. – CNN

Robson Chere Is Not A Murderer
The inquest on the unfortunate death of Roy Issa ruled out foul play! CCC Namibia condemns the arrest of Robson Chere.
05 July 2022
Ambassadors of the citizen’s movement led by President Advocate Nelson Chamisa condemn the continued crackdown on labor unionists who are demanding better livelihoods for the rest of the civil servants. The arbitrary arrest of ARTUZ Secretary-General, Robson Nikita Chere today in Harare is a clear testament that Zimbabwe needs novel leadership with practical solutions to the socio-economic problems confronting the education fraternity. It is satanic to use trumped-up murder charges on labor unionists and prominent human rights defenders. Robson Chere is just an educator with the zeal to receive a living wage against the 24 loaves of bread they are given as remuneration per month.
Namibia district instructs ZANU-PF to desist from the stinking culture of suppressing voices of dissent. Artuz stands for pro-poor policies meant to alleviate the teaching fraternity from the artificial poverty born out of corruption, graft, and entire mismanagement of the national cake in the motherland. Teachers deserve a living wage because education is a pillar in every aspect of our lives. We are cognizant of the fact that education is a vehicle for social and economic mobility across the globe hence persecuting those who stand against slave wages must be resisted with equal measure. The regime must unconditionally release Robson Chere, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, Godfrey Sithole, The Nyatsime 11, and the Chimanimani 3.
Moreover, it must be clear to the Harare regime that no amount of torture, intimidation, imprisonment and long pre-trial detentions shall deter political activists, human rights defenders, and labor unionists from fighting for justice and constitutionalism in the fatherland. We are absolutely aware that Chere, Obert, and others are being prosecuted for resisting meager salaries from the corrupt ZANU-PF. The constitution of Zimbabwe allows citizens to petition, demonstrate, and bargain as labour unionists but the clueless regime is pressing the panic button. We say FakaPressure from all angles.
The arrest of Robson Chere is not only illegal but also unconstitutional! Chere is not a murderer! Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is not violent- release them now including all prisoners of conscience. We shall continue to demand justice for Robson Chere, Obert Masaraure, Mboneni Ncube, Langelihle Dube, Nyasha Zhambe, Moreblessing Ali, Itai Dzamara, Tonderai Ndira, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, Godfrey Sithole, Last Maengahama, Tungamirai Madzokere, The Nyatsime 12, The Chimanimani 3 not forgetting political prisoners who are victims of state repression.
ZANU-PF must just go! We are sick and exhausted of their primitive shenanigans of weaponizing the law to put the opposition on mute. It is now imperative to embrace dangerous freedom against peaceful slavery. Enough is enough! Organize or starve! Fight or die!

Journalist Anyway Yotamu Assaulted By Police
By A Correspondent| A freelance journalist based in Harare Anyway Yotamu has been arrested by the police while taking pictures of their scuffle with vendors along Nelson Mandela Avenue near First Street.
The police were arresting vendors near the opposition MDC-T headquarters when Yotamu who was just coming out of the press conference addressed by Douglas Mwonzora started taking pictures of the mayhem.
Upon noticing that Yotamu was taking images of the scuffle, the police pounced on him, forcing him to delete the images.
They assaulted him and used two sets of handcuffs to arrest him.

Meanwhile, Young Journalists Association (YOJA) has condemned the police for assaulting Yotamu.
YOJA said;
It is with great concern that young journalist Anyway Yotamu has been beaten and arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) anti-riot officers, outside MDC-T’s MRT headquarters, Harare.
The officers have barred everyone from accessing him despite being told he is a journalist and him having shown them his Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) accreditation card.
Yotamu is now detained at Harare Central police station where a Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA Zimbabwe) legal team is set to assist.
Yotamu was beaten and arrested as he shot videos and took pictures of an altercation between City Parking attendants and touts near the opposition headquarters, where party leader Douglas Mwonzora was addressing other journalists.
His knee has been injured.
We call upon the police to release Yotamu unconditionally and allow him to seek medical assistance as soon as possible.
The statement “journalism is not a crime” should be respected as our rights are explicitly protected by the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
Discussions with the ZRP’s top officers on the need for journalism to be respected, have to at least indicate a change in mentality, especially when it comes to junior officers.
Our calls are not baseless.

Chamisa Sends Veiled Plea To Jonathan Moyo To Stop Attack
Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) president Nelson Chamisa has sent a veiled plea to exiled former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo urging him to tone down his continued onslaught against the opposition party.
Moyo has not been sparing any sacred cows in his analysis of the opposition party, which he has over the past weeks described as a “secret society”, and gone as far as suggesting it should be barred from contesting future elections.
The sticking point is the new outfit’s decision to operate without any structures or constitution, a move that has irked the former information minister whose offers to work with the movement were snubbed last year.
“Whereas elsewhere, a political coalition is an umbrella group or an alliance of different political parties and groups with either an electoral pact or a governance pact or both; in Zimbabwe, it is one constitution-less and structureless political party with unelected leadership!” Moyo said, before Chamisa’s plea.
Despite Moyo’s constant attacks, Chamisa and his lieutenants have maintained they will continue without the said structures so as to avoid infiltration by the ruling Zanu-PF party.
“We win together. I wholeheartedly thank you fellow citizens for believing in the new,” said Chamisa on social media.
“Our plan to build an exciting and prosperous Zimbabwe is solid. I kindly encourage that we be civil, cordial and tolerant of divergent opinions. When we win, Zimbabwe wins. We all win!!”
Moyo, who until recently had been a strong proponent of the Chamisa and a CCC takeover at next year’s polls, seems to have changed heart.
Besides labelling the party as formless, Moyo has also dismissed Chamisa’s chances.
Chamisa, on the other hand dug in, labelling those trying to pressure him into setting up structures as “Zanu-PF coaches.”
His behaviour will however, play into the hands of then MDC Alliance officials who last year fought tooth and nail against him being roped into the opposition’s fold to assist in its policy formulation and planning.
Asked whether he would prefer a CCC government to a Zanu-PF one by CCC treasurer David Coltart, Moyo said: “But Coltart, a comparison of ‘worse’ and ‘bad’ does not make the ‘bad’ good.
“You don’t become a democrat by self-proclamation nor does an old intolerant party become tolerant by a nominal change of its name; when its base typically caricatures and demonises divergent views!”

ZEC Considers Another Voter Registration Blitz
THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) says it will consider another voter registration exercise after statistics showed a 2% increase in registered voters from 2018.
On Tuesday, Zec released a statement stating that as at June 10, the country’s registered voters numbered 5 804 975, a 2% increase on 5 695 706 from 2018.
Zec spokesperson Jasper Mangwana yesterday told NewsDay that the commission would consider conducting another voter registration blitz before the polls.
“The voters roll is a changing document. The commission has also been removing the deceased and adding new voters. We removed around 26 000 and 47 000 at some point,” he said.
“As usual, Zec will definitely consider another registration blitz. We really feel for the rural community because they’re very far away from our offices. But people have to wait and hear with the commission. We will share our plan towards 2023.”
Electoral watchdogs said it was imperative that Zec carries out another voter registration exercise before elections expected next year.
The poor turnout of new voters flies in the faces of both the ruling Zanu PF party and the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)’s ambitious plans to attract five million and six million new voters, respectively, for the 2023 polls.
Zec said females constitute 53,8% and males 46,1% of the registered voters.
The watchdogs said the 2% increase points to high voter apathy in the country.
Electoral watchdogs said Zec’s figures were disappointing because they showed that young people in the country, who constitute the majority of the population, are not interested in the elections.
“It’s shocking that the registration blitzes that were done by Zec have not achieved the desired results. The commission needs to go back to the drawing board and devise campaigns which can encourage youths to participate in electoral processes assuming that they constitute a large number of potential voters. Remember, Zec is targeting at least two million new youthful voters,” Zimbabwe Election Support Network chairperson Andrew Makoni said.
“It appears elections don’t mean anything to our youths and it must be established why. Elections have not changed anything or transformed their lives. Our successive governments have not delivered and the youth are expressing their displeasure through apathy. As stakeholders we must address the root cause of this.”
Statistics also show that Harare Metropolitan province has the highest number of registered voters at 952 520, while Matabeleland South province has the lowest figure of 267 308.
“Our greatest undoing has been an indifferent youth population which is not forthcoming. Unfortunately, this is the biggest demographic group. There is need for another round of a voter registration blitz and hopefully there will be improved service delivery from Zec. Previous exercises were marred by a lot of irregularities. It’s also incumbent upon the civil society to complement Zec’s efforts,” Zimbabwe Election Advocacy Trust director Ignatius Sadziwa said.
Political analyst Kudakwashe Munemo said: “I note that there are about nine million people that remain untapped. Political parties intending to win elections must focus on mobilising between 2,2 and 3,2 million citizens to register to vote. Civil society organisations also have a huge role to play in providing civic and political education.”
CCC deputy secretary for elections Ellen Shiriyedenga said massive under registration of young voters clearly indicates that there were serious challenges to voter mobilisation efforts.
“This can also be perceived as a deliberate attempt to suppress the youth because there are no mechanisms to ensure that they’re registered. Most young people were not aware of the registration exercise, while others did not have identity documents. Under the circumstances, another voter registration blitz is very essential. If it’s not done, the outcome of the 2023 elections will not represent the majority,” Shiriyedenga said.
Zanu PF party commissar Mike Bimha said: “I haven’t seen the figures yet, so I wouldn’t comment on things that I didn’t see.”

Sikhala, Sithole Lawyers Accuse State Of Stalling Their Freedom Bid
LAWYERS representing Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators Job Sikhala (Zengeza West) and Godfrey Sithole (Chitungwiza North) yesterday accused the State of failing to provide video evidence proving that the legislators’ vehicles were actually used to ferry CCC supporters to Nyatsime.
The MPs are accused of inciting violence in the Nyatsime area last month after the brutal killing of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali by a suspected Zanu PF activist Pius Mukandi, alias Jamba.
Allegations are that they used their vehicles to ferry CCC supporters who turned violent and destroyed properties.
Their lawyers, Jeremiah Bhamu and Alec Muchadehama have also complained that the two imprisoned MPs are being abused by being denied access to their lawyers and infringement of their rights to access treatment from doctors of their choice after Sikhala developed an illness.
“There has been continued violation of accused persons’ rights to legal practitioners. Lawyer Rose Hanzi went to Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison for the purpose of attending to the accused on Saturday and she was denied access. The reasons were that the prison had only recorded that lawyer Harrison Nkomo was their sole legal practitioner. We had specifically mentioned that there was a team of legal practitioners, including Hanzi,” Bhamu said.
“The first accused was seriously ill and wanted to be attended to by a doctor, but he was denied access to a doctor of his choice. The accused have been treated in an inhumane manner and are brought to court in leg irons.”
The duo’s lawyers have now filed a notice challenging the MPs’ placement on remand saying there was no evidence linking them to the offence.

Cottco Bosses Granted ZWL$100k Bail
Harare – Cotton Company of Zimbabwe (Cottco) bosses Pious Manamike and Maxmore Njanji have been granted ZWL100 000 bail each Wednesday.
Manamike (managing director) and and his marketing manager Njanji will return to court on August 15 2022.
The presiding magistrate noted that the two were not a flight risk since they never attempted to flee the country during Zimbabwe Anti Corruption (Zacc) investigations. The duo was arrested over allegations of corruption last Thursday .
The arrest followed a 2021 audit report that unearthed financial irregularities. This is not the first time the pair is arrested for corruption.
In 2018, they were arrested for allegedly defrauding US$2 million from Cottco and were released on US$500 bail each by magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.
Njanji is reportedly eying Zanu-PF Mazowe Central seat where he wants to topple sitting parliamentarian Sydney Chidamba.
In May this year, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said his administration would go after corruption at Cottco.
“Those in charge of Cottco must quickly change their ways, there is no time any longer, certainly no patience in us suffering their irresponsible conduct,” he said on May 30.
