Zanu PF Ministers Fall Wayside In Internal Polls

By- Several ministers and Zanu PF parliamentarians fell by the wayside in the weekend’s party’s primary elections.

While the Zanu PF Politburo is expected to confirm the election outcome, results from provincial and constituency command centres showed that several new entrants won against some seasoned politicians.
Masvingo and Midlands provinces held primary elections yesterday after they failed to do so on Saturday due to unforeseen technical challenges.
Zanu PF National Political Commissar Cde Mike Bimha told ZBC TV last night that results had started trickling in.
He said the party had received some complaints and an ad-hoc committee will meet today to consider the complaints.
“”Results have now started trickling in. We should have all the results in the 10 provinces by tomorrow. We have also received complaints and we hope that the ad hoc committee will meet tomorrow to consider those complaints,”” said Cde Bimha.
In Mashonaland East Province, results indicated that Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Sekai Nzenza fell to fellow Cabinet minister, Cde Felix Mhona as the two fought it out to get the right to represent the revolutionary party in Chikomba East National Assembly constituency.
Cde Mhona, who is Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister contested in Chikomba East after his constituency, Chikomba Central, which he represented was collapsed by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission delimitation exercise.
There were also reports that Foreign Affairs and International Trade Deputy Minister David Musabayana had lost to lawyer Cde Itai Ndudzo in Wedza North.
In Manicaland, Chimanimani West constituency sitting MP and Manicaland Province Minister of State and Devolution Nokhutula Matsikinyere lost to newcomer Wilson Maposa.
In Mashonaland West Province, sitting Chegutu West MP Dexter Nduna and Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Mary Mliswa (Hurungwe West) also lost in the elections. In Chegutu East current MP and Zanu PF Deputy Political Commissar Cde Webster Shamhu reportedly lost the primaries.
In Goromonzi West, former legislator for the area, Cde Beata Nyamupinga bounced back after she won the right to represent the party which was initially held by Cde Energy Mutodi who has transferred to Masvingo Province.
In Buhera, Manicaland Province, all the constituencies were won by new entrants.
In Buhera West, Zanu PF Director of Information, Cde Tafadzwa Mugwadi beat incumbent, Cde Soul Nzuma and four others while Cde Joseph Chinotimba fell to Ngonidzashe Mudekunye in Buhera South with Cde Samson Matema claiming the scalp of the sitting legislator, Cde Mathew Gijima Nyashanu in Buhera Central. Cde Philip Guyo won in Buhera North replacing Cde William Mutomba who is a Senate candidate.
In Mutasa North, sitting legislator and chairperson of the portfolio committee on Women Affairs, Cde Chido Madiwa lost to Cde Obey Bvute, while businessman and sports guru, Cde Innocent Benza won the right to represent the party in Mutasa Central constituency.
In Mashonaland Central Province, the sitting MP for Guruve North, Cde Girovha Dzepasi fell to Cde Tendai Pinduka who beat six other candidates while in Guruve South, the sitting legislator, Cde Patrick Dutiro faltered against Cde Christopher Magomo.
Vote counting continued in most areas while Midlands and Masvingo provinces counting was expected to start last night.
The situation was calm in most areas visited by The Herald yesterday.
In Harare, provincial youth chairperson Cde Emmanuel Mahachi, who is also Mbare National Assembly Constituency aspiring legislator, said the elections were organised and held in a peaceful manner.
“”There were no cases of violence since our members were advising them that the President does not condone violence. We congratulate all the winning candidates while to losing candidates we say there is always next time.
“”I encourage party members to remain calm and peaceful. In Zanu PF, there is no winner or loser, only that one will be going to represent the party in the general elections,”” he said.
In Chitungwiza by the end of the day, voters and candidates were milling around the command centres waiting for the final compilation of results.
At Zengeza East Constituency command centre, Chitungwiza acting Mayor Kiven Mutimbanyoka was seen in a jovial mood with voters at the Publicity Centre.
In Epworth at Tembwe district, Hunyani preliminary results were already displayed at the command centre by midday.
In Mabvuku-Tafara voting ended on Saturday and it went on peacefully. Polling agents yesterday transported ballot papers and boxes to the national command centre in the city.
They were escorted by a team of police officers that had been deployed on the ground.
In Greendale, voting also ended on Saturday night.
In Beitbridge, Matabeleland South Province, the voting process ended well and by the end of the day yesterday, party officials were still consolidating figures.
Under Beitbridge East, Cde Albert Nguluvhe contested against Cde Steven Stubbs.
In Beitbridge West, incumbent Cde Ruth Maboyi stood against, Cdes Thusani Ndou and Alfred Makhomo Moyo.
Cde Tambudzani Mohadi and former Beitbridge mayor, Cde Showa Moyo contested for the senatorial seat.
In an interview, Cde Nguluvhe said:
“”This is a practice within the party where democracy is being exercised. People are allowed to choose their representative at whatever level. There is no loser. The party comes first. I therefore, call upon everyone to be united and start to campaign for our President and the party. Congratulations to everyone.””
In Masvingo, there was high voter turnout although polling was delayed in most areas around the province owing to delays in the arrival of voting material.
However, by 9am yesterday, voting had kicked off at most polling centres with long queues forming at most polling centres with members waiting to cast their ballots.
When The Herald visited some polling stations like Zvamahande in Masvingo West, Chirichoga, Masvingo Central and Shakashe in Masvingo North, there were long winding queues of voters waiting to cast their ballots with many commending the peaceful process.
Some however complained of missing their names in the voters’voters’ register.
War veteran Cde Hilda Mavuto, told The Herald that the primary elections were not about individuals but the party, adding that Zanu PF should be the biggest winner.
“”This race (primary election) is like a race (of horses) the best horse (winner) is our best foot forward and must be supported by everyone. I am here to vote just to remind the young people that this country came at a huge price,”” said Cde Mavuto.
In Masvingo Central one of the aspiring parliamentary candidates Cde Addison Zvobgo (Junior) requested for voting to be extended by a day noting that some voters from Chatikobo in Ward 23 had failed to vote after failing to access a voting centre because of floods in Mutirikwi River.
“”The dam (Lake Mutirikwi) is releasing water downstream because floodgates are open and some voters in Chatikobo could not go and vote,”” said Cde Zvobgo.
Voting closed at most polling by 5 pm with queues having been cleared though there were some isolated polling stations such as Chirichoga in Masvingo Central where voting had to be extended to clear the queues occasioned by initial delays.
In the Midlands Province, voting had been extended beyond 4pm across the province amid a huge turnout at most polling stations.
Midlands provincial elections directorate head, Cde Simbarashe Mbengegwi said the province has been given the greenlight by the national directorate to extend the deadline. There were still long queues at most polling stations around Gweru well after 6 pm.
“”I am patient, I will be waiting in the queue until I cast my vote,”” said Mrs Linah Ngirandi who was in a queue at Pfende polling station yesterday evening.
In Mashonaland West province, the voting process which ended yesterday afternoon at all the polling stations was met with mixed feelings by contestants and the electorate.
While the whole process was meant at measuring the strength of the party and its democracy, the election system was described by some as flawless while others expressed reservations.
There were, however indications from preliminary results that some of the old guards had lost to the Young Turks.
In Mashonaland East Province, the primary elections were conducted smoothly as the electorate across the province chose their preferred candidates through the ballot box.
There was an overwhelming turnout of voters to such an extent that the voting exercise had to be extended to Sunday afternoon to accommodate every member to exercise their constitutional rights.
In the Marondera Central constituency, seasoned politician and educationist Cde Cleopas Kundiona who was battling with his long-time contestant Cde Lawrance Katsiru and prominent businessman Dunmore Mutyambizi, won the elections.
Cde Kundiona won with 2 311 votes while Cde Mutyambizi went away with 1 553 votes with Cde Katsiru managing only 468 votes.
In Goromonzi North, Cde Ozias Bvute won with 3 225 votes against Cde Kudzai Majuru who bagged 1034 votes.
In Bulawayo and Matabeleland North, the voting exercise continued yesterday and the two Matabeleland provinces without incidents.
In Bulawayo, Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube and Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Cde Raj Modi sailed through uncontested and will represent Zanu PF in the harmonised elections.
Prof Ncube is eyeing the National Assembly seat for Cowdray Park while Cde Modi will battle it out with opposition parties for the Bulawayo South seat.
By last night, Zanu PF Politburo member in charge of the primary elections in Bulawayo, Cde Elphas Mashava, and the party’sparty’s provincial leadership, were locked in a meeting at Davis Hall to wrap up the meticulous verification process.
The Chronicle news crew observed that at two polling stations located at the Bulawayo Polytechnic and Nketa 7 Library, voters underwent meticulous verification before casting their votes and by 1pm, the process had ended.
In Matabeleland North, the voting spilled into yesterday in Lupane West constituency while the rest closed Saturday night. There are 13 constituencies in the province with seven districts.
Cde Headman Moyo who is in charge of elections in the province said they were waiting for all districts to submit results and deliver ballot boxes to the provincial command centre.
He said the elections had gone on well without any incidents of violence.
“”People have voted peacefully and we did not witness any unfortunate incident. We had given a deadline of 1pm today (yesterday) for all centres to close and for now we are waiting for results from districts such as Binga,”” he said.
Senior party members including the party’sparty’s provincial chair Cde Richard Moyo, Nkayi North legislator Dr Sithembiso Nyoni and her Nkayi South counterpart Cde Stars Mathe won the primaries.

Tottenham Hotspur Sack Coach

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked their head coach Antonio Conte.

The EPL club confirmed the news in a statement released on Sunday night.

Cristian Stellini has been placed in temporary charge of Spurs until the end of the season.

The statement reads: “We can announce that Head Coach Antonio Conte has left the Club by mutual agreement. We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio’s first season at the Club. We thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future.

“Cristian Stellini will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as Assistant Head Coach.”

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place. We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters.”

The sacking comes after Conte openly criticised the club owners – Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy – for failing to bring a change during their reign.

The Italian gaffer told a press conference after his side’s 3-3 draw against Southampton: “It is easy in this way. Tottenham’s story is this. Twenty years there is the owner and they never won something but why?

“The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stays here. I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench.”- Soccer 24 News

Mahachi Seeks Move To Europe

Kudakwashe Mahachi has reportedly been invited to undergo trials in Europe.

The Zimbabwean midfielder is without a club since his release at SuperSport United at the end of last season.

The release came after the 29-year-old was accused of attempting to murder his son but the cour acquitted him after the State failed to prove the essential elements of the case, while the evidence given by witnesses was declared disjointed and contradictory.

The player had hoped to find a new club in the January transfer window but failed to secure a deal.

According to Sunday News Gibraltar professional football team, FCB Magpies, has invited Mahachi to come for trials for an undisclosed duration.

The invite reads, as cited by the publication: “Please accept this letter as an official invitation from FCB Magpies, a Gibraltar professional football team, for Kudakwashe Mahachi, a Zimbabwean national with passport no (hidden) to attend a football trial in Gibraltar.

As part of the trial invite FCB Magpies will provide accommodation and all food expenses.”
The outlet added that the player was frantically sorting out his papers to travel for the trial stint.- Soccer24 News

What Is Vibrio Cholerae ?

Cholera is an acute diarrhoeal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. Cholera remains a global threat to public health and an indicator of inequity and lack of social development.

Symptoms
Cholera is an extremely virulent disease that can cause severe acute watery diarrhoea. It takes between 12 hours and 5 days for a person to show symptoms after ingesting contaminated food or water (2). Cholera affects both children and adults and can kill within hours if untreated.

Most people infected with V. cholerae do not develop any symptoms, although the bacteria are present in their faeces for 1-10 days after infection and are shed back into the environment, potentially infecting other people.

Among people who develop symptoms, the majority have mild or moderate symptoms, while a minority develop acute watery diarrhoea with severe dehydration. This can lead to death if left untreated.

History
During the 19th century, cholera spread across the world from its original reservoir in the Ganges delta in India. Six subsequent pandemics killed millions of people across all continents. The current (seventh) pandemic started in South Asia in 1961, reached Africa in 1971 and the Americas in 1991. Cholera is now endemic in many countries.

Vibrio cholerae strains
There are many serogroups of V. cholerae, but only two – O1 and O139 – cause outbreaks. V. cholerae O1 has caused all recent outbreaks. V. cholerae O139 – first identified in Bangladesh in 1992 – caused outbreaks in the past, but recently has only been identified in sporadic cases. It has never been identified outside Asia. There is no difference in the illness caused by the two serogroups.

Epidemiology, risk factors, and disease burden
Cholera can be endemic or epidemic. A cholera-endemic area is an area where confirmed cholera cases were detected during the last 3 years with evidence of local transmission (meaning the cases are not imported from elsewhere). A cholera outbreak/epidemic can occur in both endemic countries and in countries where cholera does not regularly occur.

In cholera endemic countries an outbreak can be seasonal or sporadic and represents a greater than expected number of cases. In a country where cholera does not regularly occur, an outbreak is defined by the occurrence of at least 1 confirmed case of cholera with evidence of local transmission in an area where there is not usually cholera.

Cholera transmission is closely linked to inadequate access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Typical at-risk areas include peri-urban slums, and camps for internally displaced persons or refugees, where minimum requirements of clean water and sanitation are not been met.

The consequences of a humanitarian crisis – such as disruption of water and sanitation systems, or the displacement of populations to inadequate and overcrowded camps – can increase the risk of cholera transmission, should the bacteria be present or introduced. Uninfected dead bodies have never been reported as the source of epidemics.

The number of cholera cases reported to WHO has continued to be high over the last few years. During 2020 323 369 cases, 857 deaths were notified from 24 countries 3. The discrepancy between these figures and the estimated burden of the disease is due many cases not being recorded due to limitations in surveillance systems and fear of impact on trade and tourism.

Prevention and control
A multifaceted approach is key to control cholera, and to reduce deaths. A combination of surveillance, water, sanitation and hygiene, social mobilisation, treatment, and oral cholera vaccines are used.

Z”anu PF’s Gold Mafia Is Punishing Those Who Voted For It Too.” Where Is Solace In Sniggered At Ghost Voters

By Wilbert Mukori: The Al Jazeera “Gold Mafia: Laundry Service” of the looting of Zimbabwe’s gold has forced many Zimbabweans to sit up and pay attention.

In my WhatsApp group there is a photo of a couple sniggering with the caption “One thing I like about Zanu PF anorwadzisa neakaivhotera!” (Zanu PF is punishing even those who voted for them!)

Zimbabweans have a sense of humour but in this case the joke is on us. We think we are holding the thick end of the whip when, in reality, we are at the business end!

The art of rigging the elections is to do it in such way the electorate always, always, believe their vote counts regardless how flawed and illegal the process gets. But it helps if the said electorate are so naïve and gullible they believe anything the regime says even when their own eyes tell them otherwise! And Zimbabweans must be some of the most naïve and gullible people on earth!

The 2008 Zimbabwe elections were a watershed election in that the whole world learnt the full extend of Zanu PF’s vote rigging powers. “Kuzvionera pamhiro sefodya!” as one would say in Shona. MDC won 73% of the vote in the March 2008 vote, according to the late Robert Mugabe’s Freudian slip.

SADC, the regional body, refused to recognise Zanu PF as the legitimate winner and wanted the country to implement democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections.

It was SADC that proposed the 2008 to 2013 GNU and gave it the principal task to implement the democratic reforms. And when SADC realised that no meaningful reforms had been implemented, they wanted the 2013 elections postponed until reforms were implemented.

It is disappointing that the majority of Zimbabweans have remain ignorant of the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging elections. They continue to pretend elections are free, fair and credible and Zanu pF has the democratic mandate of the majority.

They are sniggering at the majority who are keeping Zanu PF in power. In the March 2008 vote it was MDC who garnered 73% of the votes and yet Zanu PF claimed victory. Since when has 27% trumped 73%?

The sniggering Zimbabweans should have realised that it was MDC leaders’ responsibility to implement the democratic reforms.

And if they were paying attention to the Al Jazeera documentary they would have learned why MDC leaders not only sold out by failing to implement reforms but, worst of all, continue to sell out to this day by participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

In the Al Jazeera documentary “Gold Mafia: laundry service”, Kamlesh Pattni, alias Brother/Pastor Paul, a Kenyan of Indian descend boasts of how he help President Arap Moi of Kenya, a notorious dictator, survive by buying off his political opponents and critics using the loot from his gold laundering activities. Pattni left Kenya and has been plying his gold looting skills in Zimbabwe on behalf of Mugabe and then Mnangagwa.

Of course, Brother Paul has helped Mugabe and now Mnangagwa survive by buying off Zanu PF’s opponents and critics. MDC/CCC leaders’ failure to implement even one token reform during the GNU and their stubborn insistence in participating in flawed elections is not only because they are breathtakingly incompetent.

They are not whom we think they are! We think they are opposition when they are Zanu PF in all but name!

In the 2018 Zimbabwe elections the EU deployed a 245 strong Election Observer Team, the biggest such team. “Notably, major shortcomings in the pre-election environment impacted on the free expression of the will of electors, state resources were misused in favour of the incumbent and coverage by state media was heavily biased in favour of the ruling party.

Further, the electoral commission lacked full independence and appeared to not always act in an impartial manner. The final results as announced by the Electoral Commission contained numerous errors and lacked adequate traceability, transparency and verifiability,” stated the EU Observer Mission final report.

“As such, many aspects of the 2018 elections in Zimbabwe failed to meet international standards.”

The EU Observer Mission made 23 recommendations to ensure future elections were free, fair and credible. Not even one of these recommendations have seen the light of day. Not one!

Both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC have completely ignored all efforts to get the recommendations implemented before the 2023 elections. Indeed, Zanu PF’s dismissive arrogancy to born out of the knowledge that Zimbabwe’s opposition would never take a decisive position on the matter – the same dismissive arrogance Zanu PF showed throughout the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Proof that Kamlesh and his fellow gold Mafia, diamond Mafia are the ones helping Zanu PF “survive”.

Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections. CCC are participating for the sake of the few gravy train seats on offer as bait. And the many ordinary Zimbabweans are participating because they are naïve and gullible enough to believe Zanu PF’s claim elections are free and or believe CCC’s oxymoronic nonsense the party can win rigged elections.

Frankly, it is pointless for EU or any other observers to attend the elections because nothing much will change from 2018 elections!

Like it or not MDC/CCC leaders will never ever implement the democratic reforms necessary for free, fair and credible elections. Never ever! We are well and truly stuck with this Zanu PF dictatorship and, to any thinking Zimbabwean out there, this is no laughing matter!

President Chamisa Clears Air On Candidate Selection

Tinashe Sambiri|Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s drum is about to rupture.

This was said by CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa.

According to the CCC leader, Mr Mnangagwa’s party is falling apart with each passing day.

In Zimbabwe’s political arena the beat of the drum has been growing louder and more intense with each passing day..the nation is about to be born again! #ANewNation,” the CCC leader posted on Twitter.

“Zanu PF looks for a leader who wants to lead the people, but we want a leader whom the people want. Zanu PF wants its candidates to submit curriculum vitaes, but we focus on community track record — what are the people saying about the leader they want? Mining : How To Start From Zero

Steps to starting from zero in the mining sector.

Just like every industry mining has zero beginning where you begin with absolute nothing or with little amounts of less than 100usd .

Deliberately choose a friend who regularly goes to the mine be very close friend. By so doing you receive mining updates and stories for free . You will learn mining terms risks and rewards fast .

3 visit the mines regularly.
Now that you have a friend visit the mines with him regularly to assess the situation and listen to more mining stories from others stay there for a long time sometimes even 12hrs or two days continuously.
4 identify areas of need within your friend’s network.

At this stage visit with a secret book identify needs that would let you in . The easiest is food just buy relish for them for free and start asking direct question how can you be of help .

NB don’t over promise or over commit yourself if you don’t yet understand the risky .

Outrage As ZANU PF Man Caught Red Handed With Naked Ballots

By Farai D Hove | On Sunday, Mvurwi police detained Justice Marufu, a member of candidate Tsungai Makumbe’s campaign staff.

For the seat’s parliamentary nomination, Makumbe, Campion Mugweni, Martin Dinha, and Tafadzwa Musarara were all in the running.

Under file number RRB5323373, the Mvurwi police station is in charge of the situation.

A report seen by ZimEye said,
“Justice Marufu, a member of Tsungai Makumbe campaign been arrested and now in police custody at Mvurwi Police Station after (being) caught with 651 ballot papers,

“They are several reports of missing cells in many polling stations.

“Tsungai has already started to celebrate before the command centre received the remaining 50%.”

While the ZANU PF political commissar, Mike Bimha, asserted that the voting process had gone without a hitch on Saturday, there have been allegations of voting-place rigging in several Zanu PF locations.

Internal elections for the ruling party’s parliamentary and council candidates for this year’s election took place over the weekend.

Musarara has since quit saying:
“I hereby tender my withdrawal from the above-mentioned primary election due to gross irregularities that have occurred.

” I remain a committed cadre of the ruling party, Zanu PF,” said Musarara.

Teen Model Vows To Change Perception

Makanaka Melissa

Eighteen-year-old model Makanaka “Melladiorr” Melissa said she is dedicated to transforming the profession to ensure that the rampant sexual harassment that models can face comes to an end.

Speaking to H-Metro, the Upper Sixth student said there is a need to change the negative perception towards women. She said:

I am inspired by the need to change the community and industry as a whole.

I want to advocate for the girl child through the professionalism of art and I will use it to show how women hold the same power as men and, hopefully, this would eradicate some of these societal ills.

The industry at times can be a very unsafe place for the girl child because, rather than being viewed as creatives, we are often manipulated.

We are manipulated into thinking that being in intimate relationships with the sponsors will increase our popularity and make it possible to earn certain amounts but I am a firm believer in morals, self-respect and hard work to achieve success.

She said she wants to work together with other models to find ways to eradicate girl child abuse in the industry and outside the industry too. Said Melladiorr:

Girls deserve the same freedom just as the boy child does without returning any sexual favours.

Makanaka Melissa acquired her training from 106 Models. She has worked with EatnLick, ZIMA Awards, Model Guide, and as a brand ambassador for Footwear Plaza and as a video vixen for music videos. She said:

As a person, you should be disciplined. I do things on time and I work with a schedule.

I have time for school work and I have time for my profession but always put school first.

All aspiring models should dare to be different and not lose their moral values for fame.

“It’s A Cursed Gift”: Fungisai Zvakavapano

By A Correspondent- Gospel musician Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave referred to her singing gift as a curse after she was trolled on social media and she has yet again clapped back on a fan Norman Munyaradzi who commented on the singer’s family photo saying it was not complete without a father figure.

In the photo, the award-winning gospel musician posted a picture of herself posing with her two sons and daughter. This is not the first time the gospel celebrity has posted a picture of her children, mostly because they have been involved in some of her projects. However, her husband has not been in any of Fungisai’s projects.

“Ko baba varipi? The pic looks incomplete without a father figure,” commented Norman Munyaradzi.

Fungisai clapped back at the fan, saying her husband does not owe them any social media presence.

“Whoever gave you the right to drag my husband into social media just because ndakakuimbirai gave you the wrong idea. I don’t know what entitlement you think you have to treat him like he owes you social media entertainment too,” she replied.

“Such family pics can be found on our home walls and I reserve the right to post what I choose on my entertainment page.

“Sorry to say my husband shall not be part of the entertainment here. Ndini muimbi wenyu.”

Other celebrities such as Madam Boss born Tarisai Cleopatra Chikocho were also caught in the same situation.

During her interview with Dj Olla on StarFM, Madam Boss clearly stated that if people were asking about her as brand Madam Boss she would have answered because she is the celebrity, but when it came to her husband she refused to give any details saying he was not the celebrity.

Following Fungisai’s clap back, another fan sympathised with her saying that the singer’s personal life is her choice.

“She is right about her personal life and her choices. We should learn to mind our business naye which is music,” commented the fan.

Fungisai went on to pour out on Facebook how she has been receiving constant attacks all her career life and referred to her singing gift as a curse.

The insults I have suffered my whole career life, I would have to be divine not to feel it at this point. Indeed I can conclusively say it’s a cursed gift not worth pursuing and I don’t advise anyone to choose this path in life,” she posted.

“You risk dying at a young age, it is really not worth it young people.”

The gospel singer has been trolled on social media, at one point she fired back at a fan, Farai Manguvo, after he commented that the singer was getting old.

She also once furiously hit back at people who were comparing her with Jah Prayzah following the release of her musical video Mutsvene (Holy).

Fungisai’s career has been characterised by ups and downs, but the determination to keep the Christian voice loud has been her encouragement. However the constant trolls seem to have had the best of her as she now refers to her gift as a curse. —Standard

Gold Mafia Simon Rudland Threatens To Sue Al Jazeera

Multi-millionaire businessman Simon Rudland, who was cited as the biggest funder of gold smuggling activities in Zimbabwe during an Al Jazeera investigation, has demanded an apology from the station and indicated he will be suing.

Rudland was mentioned by self-confessed gold smuggler Ewan Macmillan in the opening episode of the bombshell Al Jazeera documentary as the major financier of the gold smuggling syndicate using a personal fortune amassed via his cigarette businesses in his native Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The documentary alleged that Rudland, one of Zimbabwe’s richest men, launders money through both Zimbabwean and South African companies.

Rudland is the owner of Gold Leaf Tobacco, one of southern Africa’s biggest cigarette brands, especially on South Africa’s black market.

According to Ewan MacMillan, a self-confessed gold smuggler who was exposed in the documentary, Rudland allegedly bankrolls the Zimbabwe government.  Said, MacMillan

“He bankrolls this whole country. If he wants, he phones up the governor, the reserve bank governor. ‘Hi, I want a meeting. Okay, fine. What time?’ ‘I am coming at 11. Okay, fine.’

“He is massive. He is one mother***, my friend. You have no idea, how big he is ,” MacMillan said.

Macmillan bragged he was the most influential of all gold smugglers in Zimbabwe along with Kamlesh Pattni, implicated in a gold smuggling scheme in the 1990s in Kenya before he moved his operation to Zimbabwe.

The undercover operation by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit (I-Unit) also implicated President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Special Envoy Uebert Angel and niece Henrietta Rushwaya.

Angel has since revealed that Mnangagwa’s son and his wife Auxillia were also recorded during the Aljazeera investigation.

While Al Jazeera revealed how Rudland launders money through both Zimbabwean and South African companies, the very wealthy businessman with interests in logistics, agriculture, and finance has denied the allegations.

“I deny all allegations made against me concerning gold smuggling, money laundering or collusion with any government,” read his statement.

“The allegations are false and are made without any proof and the documentary is extremely sensational, this propaganda is injurious to my good name.

“I urge Al Jazeera to retract their statements and issue a public apology. Notwithstanding this, I will in any event be instituting legal action against the media house for severe reputational harm caused.”

He is the second to dismiss the claims covered in Gold Mafia, a four-part series documenting the ill.

Angel this weekend claimed to have known he was being ‘secretly’ recorded and similarly investigating Al Jazeera’s team of investigate reporters posing as Chinese criminals.

Rushwaya on the other hand said an audio circulating of a woman claiming to be her and calling Zimbabweans dunderheads is fake.

The audio came up after the release of the documentary’s first episode The Laundry Service in which she confirmed her involvement in cahoots with Angel.

The second episode is expected on Friday.

Bishop Mabhiza Marks Birthday with an Anti-Drug Abuse Sports Tourney.

By Tafadzwa Muranganwa| A popular apostolic church, St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World honoured its leader’s birthday by organising an anti-drug abuse sports tournament on Saturday.
Dubbed the ‘Sydney Mabhiza Foundation Charity Tournament’, the event was held at Allan Wilson High School and featured 16 football teams and a number of netball teams across Harare.

Aside the main sport disciplines, there were athletics, tug-of-war and eating contests. A sizeable crowd witnessed the fun-filled sports gala.

Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the tournament, the church’s national youth patron, Richard Paradzai Mandebvu said the event was born out of the realisation of the drug abuse scourge and it’s impact on the social being particularly of the youths.

“We felt we wanted to honour Bishop Mabhiza and deliberately on the best way to do such.

“As a church we felt that because of the prevalence of drug abuse it was worthwhile to organise a sports tournament to celebrate our leader’s birthday at the same time spreading the anti-drug messages. Its not a secret that drug abuse has taken its toll on the youths leading to a lot of delinquencies and fuelling gender-based violence(GBV), “Mandebvu said.

He went on to express gratitude at the turn out and says plans are underway to spread the initiative countrywide.

” I can safely say the inaugural tournament has surpassed all our expectations, people came in their numbers.

“We hope to conduct such a programme in other provinces,” he added.

A coach with Harare East select soccer team,Jonathan Hapazari hailed the tournament for helping youths to stay off drups and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents.

“This is a noble initiative that we took part in. For instance it discourages young people as they find something to occupy them.

” This is also a platform for the youths to expose their talents, “affirmed Hapazari.

A youth, Munashe Madzongwe also welcomed the gesture.

The highlight of the day was the mouthwatering final pitting the crowd’s favourite team, Ribexy and Retreat Park FC which ended in a 1-1 stalemate. The match ended with the dreadful penalties and Retreat Park FC emerged victors. The winner got a trophy, medals and US$800 while the losing finalist was awarded with US$300.

In the Netball competition, Uplands was the losing finalist and Mothers of Mercy was crowned champions.

The ‘birthday boy’Bishop Dr Sydney Mabhiza, guest of honour Dr Tichaona Maume, Federation of Indigenous Churches in Zimbabwe chairman Bishop Livingstone Marufu and the St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World top hierarchy attended the event.

There were also live music performances by Craig Zonke, Pasi neGuka hitmaker and Mambo Dhuterere, who are all members of the fledging congregation.

Free Hernia Treatment For Mutare Minors

By A Correspondent- One hundred (100) children aged between two and 12 years have benefitted from free hernia scanning and surgical operation exercise at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital in Mutare.

According to Business Times, the exercise was conducted by the Ministry of Health and Child Care in partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Japanese government and Celebration Health.

Dr. Patricia Mtambanengwe told the publication that they had come to Mutare to operate on only 100 patients diagnosed with hernia. She said:

We are aware of the large numbers here, but there is only a limited number of patients that will be attended to during the course of this programme.

Mtambanengwe said that there are more than 1000 hernia patients countrywide that need to be attended to.

Concellia Makoni from Marondera, whose child was successfully operated on, on Tuesday, said:

I am so grateful, I do not know how to thank all those behind this gesture, the Japanese government, the Zimbabwe government, Celebration Health and the WHO for rescuing my child.

I was hopeless and have just been given hope. I am the happiest person today, God is great.

However, some mothers travelled long distances but left Mutare disappointed after their children were not checked and operated on.z

One such mother was Lovejoy Kusena who said she spent a lot of money after travelling from Nyanyadzi, about 125km south of Mutare.

A hernia scanning and surgery procedure is estimated to cost at least US$400.

Symptoms of a hernia in a child

  • A full, round belly.
  • Belly pain and soreness.
  • Vomiting.
  • Fussiness.
  • Redness or discoloration near the hernia.
  • Fever

CCC Launches Whatsapp ChatBot

By A Correspondent- The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party led by Nelson Chamisa has launched a WhatsApp ChatBot which it said enables citizens to instantly access information on the party’s activities, voter registration, and any other key information. The party said:

Our youth task force has launched a WhatsApp ChatBot which enables citizens to instantly access information on the party’s activities, voter registration and any other key information.

Send “REAP” to WhatsApp number +263 712222697 and get chatting!

REAP or “Mugwazo” is a nationwide rural mobilisation exercise launched by CCC in April 2022.

Speaking about the programme last year, CCC interim secretary for rural mobilisation, Happymore Chidziva, said:

We have launched a massive recruitment and mobilisation exercise called Mugwazo. We are meeting ordinary citizens in rural areas.

This is a nationwide programme where we are mobilising people to register to vote and recruit them to the CCC party. We are targeting every district in Zimbabwe.

Gold Mafia: RBZ Faces Sanctions

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is facing sanctions following allegations that it is being used for money laundering and illicit gold dealings.

The bank’s governor, John Mangudya, has denied the allegations which are in the first of a four-part Al-Jazeera documentary.

It details how a criminal syndicate allegedly linked to President Emmerson Mnangagwa is laundering money and smuggling gold from Zimbabwe to Dubai.

Undercover journalists posing as criminals have also exposed Mnangagwa’s ambassador-at-large, Ubert Angel, who was offering to use his diplomatic status to launder millions of US dollars through a gold-smuggling scheme.

SABC News’ Zimbabwe Correspondent Ephert Musekiwa says, “The Reserve Bank Governor actually came out in the open and denied the allegations made by Al-Jazeera before the documentary was even aired. Remember that Fidelity falls under the bank so it’s the Governor who has to respond. They went even further to actually say that Zimbabwean gold was not sanctioned, so there was no reason why they would resort to smuggling in order to sell the gold. So, he has denied all the allegations of being the bank behind the money laundering.”

WHO Ban Irks Health Workers

By A Correspondent- Underpaid Zimbabwean nurses and doctors have vowed to find alternative ways to circumvent a foreign recruitment ban recently imposed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), saying they cannot bear the poor working conditions anymore.

WHO recently red-listed Zimbabwe among 53 other nations experiencing acute shortage of health personnel, a development which prompted the United Kingdom (UK) to stop active recruitment of nurses from the southern African country.

Zimbabwe Professional Nurses Union secretary-general Douglas Chikobvu described the recruitment ban as a major blow for health professionals.

“As it stands, the future of Zimbabwean nurses set to leave for greener pastures has been dealt a big blow,” Chikobvu said.

“The government has been sort of abusive on how (it is) handling the plight of nurses. Instead of addressing the root causes, (it is) coming up with a raft of measures to tie our already impoverished and starving nurses. The reason for massive brain drain is due to measly wages. What we all expected the government to do was to swiftly address bread and butter issues by awarding nurses a living wage in US dollars.”

Latest statistics by the UK’s Office of National Statistics showed that Zimbabwe was among the top five countries that registered the highest number of citizens granted work visas to Britain over the past two years.

Zimbabwe has over the past years recorded a mass exodus of skilled workers, including at least 3 000 health professionals to the UK in the past two years, with some opting for menial foreign jobs owing to poor remuneration back home.

“The government of Zimbabwe should consider the concept of formalising the export of surplus health professionals in order to protect its citizens working abroad because if migration is not formalised, health professionals will still leave the country anyway,” Community Working Group on Health executive director Itai Rusike said.

Not every nurse trained has to work for the State throughout their working life. But the country’s health delivery system can benefit from the experience of the returnees gained while in the receiving countries. It’s important to invest in people to harness talent. Why train and let people go.? This is a highly critical and precious resource. It’s a death sentence to citizens as they cannot access quality health care.”

“Scott Sakupwanya Stole My Wife”: Acie Lumumba

By Acie Lumumba

Dear friends;

I am dealing with an incredibly painful public failure at the moment, In December last year I became bankrupt and went into debt after spending 5 months cancer treatmments.

My wife confessed she was having an affair with Zweli Lunga and Scott Sakupwanya friends and business associates I had known for over 10years; when I knew of my sickness I moved all my assets into her name for the sake of our son.

There are things about to come out that will embarrass any man and destroy any ego but I ask again that you understand it’s sensitive and I would have preferred it private, they have just chosen to make a public humiliation out of me.

I have learnt on Monday I will be served with a ‘cease and desist’ order to not mention the matter, Zweli got her to sell all my assets which I have no issues with- I’ll rebuild it all. The real issue is her two lovers are so hell bent over proving a point they are using all influence to restrict me from access to my son. They have requested the courts to never allow me time with my son by myself.

As they start their campaign of mistruths exclusively designed to prove I’m unfit to father my son, do remember I’m just a father desperate to be in his child’s life. I just want access to my son, I think it is brutally dark and wicked for them to restrict that.

Even if I was a monster, he’s my son, except I’ve done nothing but work like a junk yard dog for that boy .

I am currently consulting legal guidance but I challenge them to a lie detector on my account to validate a single line of lies they are pedalling. I have to fight for my son, I don’t know what else to do

Gvt Profiles Learners

By A Correspondent- The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has introduced a programme to profile learners to enable their grooming and the nurturing of their skills progressively.

Under the programme, “Learning Support Services Client Profile Database”, profiles will be created for every learner.

A school in Bulawayo sent a letter to parents and guardians inviting them to participate in the exercise. The letter, which was seen by the Chronicle, reads in part:

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MOPSE) is rolling out a programme to screen and profile learners in schools.

In this regard, the Learning Support Services is developing a system to enable schools to create profiles for individual learners.

A set of screening and profiling tools has therefore been introduced for use in schools. You are invited to the school for the data collection on your child.

It is an assessment of developmental domains of functioning in young children.

It is for individual child and parent benefit through child-centered approaches, referrals and monitoring.

… Let us avoid sending just anyone from the family e.g. driver, house helper, or a distant relative as this may lead to the collection of inaccurate data.

The collected information of individual learners will be fed to the Education Management Information System database and will be updated throughout their infant, junior and Secondary education years hence the need to supply accurate data.

Primary and Secondary Education Ministry communications and advocacy director Taungana Ndoro said:

This is going to assist in the management of the child so that when a certain talent is identified in the learner, we develop that talent from an early age.

We want to groom and nurture the skills that they have from the primary and secondary levels.

There is a lot of information that we need from the parents and guardians and we will even need information like the number of siblings and a lot of other things.

So, it’s a huge tool. We will collect data until the data of the last pupil in our school has been collected.

Ndoro urged parents and guardians to cooperate with education officials during the exercise.

Gold Mafia Depleting Zim Gold Reserves In 20 Years

By WaMwari Divine Chaminuka Mafa- As a concerned citizen, I write to you about the critical issue of our nation’s natural resources, particularly gold mining and its impact on our economy and environment.

Zimbabwe is a country blessed with vast reserves of natural resources, including Gold, but the management of these resources has been troubling in recent years. Our government has resorted to accepting money from criminals to buy Gold from mines with little to no skills, degrading our environment and leaving us in debt to these criminal elements.
Divine Mafa
A recent documentary by Al Jazeera has highlighted that 90% of the Gold that has been externalized out of Zimbabwe has never made it back to our country.

This demands urgent attention and action. We must recognize the critical importance of managing our natural resources sustainably, socially responsibly, and economically beneficially.

One positive factor that we can build on is the gold coin system that we created in the past.

This system kept Gold within our borders and prevented it from being externalized, which was a significant step towards creating a stable economy.

However, this system has been suspended, and we must find a way to revive it and make it work.

To revive the gold coin system, we must first address the root causes of our reliance on criminal elements for gold mining.

This means tackling corruption and strengthening our regulatory framework to ensure that only reputable and responsible companies are granted mining licenses.

We must also invest in training and technology to ensure that our mines are operating at the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.

Moreover, we must explore opportunities to leverage our natural resources in innovative and sustainable ways.
Renewable energy technologies have great potential to provide clean energy and create jobs while reducing our reliance on finite resources like Gold.
We must also explore opportunities in industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and software development, which have the potential to drive growth and innovation in our economy.
Zimbabwe should focus on diversifying its economy by investing in tertiary and technological business sectors. This could help to create more stable and sustainable sources of income that are not reliant on finite resources like Gold. In conclusion, I urge all Zimbabweans to come together as a nation to address this critical issue.
It’s important to note that Zimbabwe’s gold production remains constant at 600,000 ounces per year, and there are no new significant discoveries. It would take approximately 21-22 years to deplete the known reserves of 13.1 million ounces of Gold. However, this is just an estimate, and several factors could affect the time it takes to deplete the gold reserves.
Despite this, it’s clear that relying solely on the extraction and sale of natural resources is not a sustainable long-term economic strategy. Therefore, we must work towards creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for our country. Other countries like Britain and France have more enormous reserves than Zimbabwe, yet they do not mine Gold.
This highlights the importance of managing our resources responsibly and exploring other opportunities for economic growth and diversification.
Let us work together to build a Zimbabwe that is a shining example of innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and consider this critical issue.
Together, we can work towards creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for our country.

Sincerely,

WaMwari Divine Chaminuka Mafa

Simon Rudland Breathes Fire Over Al Jazeera Allegations

By A Correspondent- Zimbabwean businessman, Simon Rudland, has demanded a public apology from Al Jazeera Investigations after he was named as part of the “gold mafia” and the biggest funder of smuggling activities in Zimbabwe in a documentary that premiered recently.

During an undercover investigation by Al Jazeera journalists, self-confessed gold smuggler Ewan Macmillan alleged that Rudland was the major financier of the gold smuggling in Zimbabwe and was owed about US$200 million by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).

Episode One of the Al Jazeera documentary titled “The Laundry Service”, alleges that Rudland launders money through both Zimbabwean and South African companies.

MacMillan, a self-confessed gold smuggler who was exposed by undercover Al Jazeera journalists, said:

He (Simon Rudland) bankrolls this whole country. If he wants, he phones up the governor, the reserve bank governor. ‘Hi, I want a meeting. Okay, fine. What time?’ ‘I am coming at 11. Okay, fine.’

He is massive. He is one mother***, my friend. You have no idea, how big he is.

Rudland, who is the owner of Gold Leaf Tobacco, also indicated he will be suing Al Jazeera over the broadcast. Reads his statement:

I deny all allegations made against me concerning gold smuggling, money laundering, or collusion with any government.

The allegations are false and are made without any proof and the documentary is extremely sensational, this propaganda is injurious to my good name.

I urge Al Jazeera to retract their statements and issue a public apology.

Notwithstanding this, I will in any event be instituting legal action against the media house for severe reputational harm caused.

The four-part Al Jazeera documentary titled “Gold Mafia”, also implicated President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Special Envoy Uebert Angel, the President’s niece Henrietta Rushwaya, and Kamlesh Pattni in alleged gold smuggling and money laundering activities in Zimbabwe.

Manicaland Zanu PF Youth Boss In Vote Rigging Storm

By A Correspondent| Zanu PF Youth League boss Stanley Sakupwanya was on Sunday caught with over 2000 marked ballots papers

The youth boss who is fighting for the youth quota slot against Dunmore Mambondiani, was allegedly found with marked ballot papers for himself and acting provincial political commissar, Albert Nyakuedzwa.

Nyakuedzwa is fighting to take over from Makoni South MP Misheck Mataranyika.

“They were found with marked ballot papers in a truck in Nyazura and the youths wrestled against them and their teams until the ballot papers were taken away. A case was opened at Nyazura Police Station under RRB number RRB 5405812,”said a source who witnessed the fracas.

Zanu PF was over the weekend holding primary elections to chose candidates to represent the party in the forthcoming general elections.

A number of senior party heavy weights lost the primary polls and some had to use violence against their opponents.

The youth quota was recently introduced to promote the participation of young people in mainstream politics and they will be elected on proportional representation.

Sakupwanya was trailing Mambondiani who is the national youth member. He had to employ unorthodox means to take the seat away but this was stopped by alert youths.

“They were using a vehicle registration number AFU 7085 belonging to Albert Nyakuedzwa. In that car was Noreen Chipunza married to One Sydney Muzambi from Makoni district,” the source said

Those who caught the team trying to rig the internal polls include Fungai Nehanda and Kenneth Chaparapata.

The ballot papers were supposed to be delivered at Mukamba Primary school polling station in ward 28 of Makoni South Constituency in Makoni District,” the source said

Acie Lumumba : Scott Sakupwanya Ruined My Marriage

By Acie Lumumba

Dear friends;

Zivhu Challenges Uebert Angel Authenticity As Man Of God

Tinashe Sambiri|Controversial former Zanu PF MP for Chivi South and businessman Killer Zivhu has challenged Uebert Angel’s authenticity as a “man of God.”

Commenting on the gold looting scam exposed by Al Jazeera, Zivhu slammed criminals within the new dispensation.

According to Zivhu, the gold looting scam reveals corruption is killing the economy, not sanctions.

See below Zivhu’s argument:

Guys if Uebert Angel is really a Prophet of God, why asina kuona mumweya, kuti AL Jazeera deal was a trap, muchasvinura henyu mati madini.

Criminals around Mugabe, are now in exile including Jonathan Moyo, what are we going to do with criminals around New Dispensation, the Man of Gold or the Man against God, is boasting about selling the Country.

Fungisai Curses Self

Gospel musician Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave referred to her singing gift as a curse after she was trolled on social media and she has yet again clapped back on a fan Norman Munyaradzi who commented on the singer’s family photo saying it was not complete without a father figure.

—Standard

Divorcing Parents Use Kids Against Each Other

Children cannot be used as pawns in marital and divorce disputes and their rights and interests reign supreme over what parents want or argue, High Court judge Justice Priscillah Munangati-Manongwa has stressed, with the courts mandated to ensure that the rights of these children are put first.
The High Court is the upper guardian of children with a statutory duty to safeguard the interests of children within the precincts of the Constitution and the dictates of regional conventions like the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child as well as international instruments such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Justice Munangati-Manongwa said as parents tussle over custody of children sometimes they seem oblivious that the best interests of the children reign supreme over parents’ inclinations.

She made the remarks in a judgment of a couple involved in a bitter legal combat over custody of their three minor children.

“Children are not chattels to be exchanged at will, held and used as pawns for parents’ selfish ends either to settle scores or score a victory,” said Justice Munangati-Manongwa. “Children have rights and are entitled to their dignity and humane treatment.”

The estranged couple, Lloyd Machacha and Precious Mhlanga, are embroiled in an acrimonious wrangle over custody of their three daughters.

The two separated and Mhlanga had custody of the girls aged 10, 6 and 4, but Machacha was given access to the children during holidays.

When the children came to his house for holidays, Machacha obtained a prohibitory order at the Children’s Court after being informed that Mhlanga wanted to take the children out of the country, without prior written consent of the children’s father.

The court also granted him an interim order for the children to continue staying with him pending the disposal of another application for joint custody pending at the Children’s Court. Upon realising that Machacha had not returned the children home after the holiday, Mhlanga went to collect the children in the absence of her estranged husband.

She managed to pick up the two minor children leaving the eldest after she was locked in the house by one of Machacha’s maids.

This prompted Machacha to approach the High Court seeking to have the two girls back, claiming that Mhlanga had violently snatched them and had stopped them from going to school.

But Justice Munangati-Manongwa ruled the application by Machacha had no merit, saying he was simply seeking to frustrate his wife from enjoying custody rights to the prejudice of the children.

She noted that Mhlanga has had the children since 2020 as sanctioned by the court and that Machacha sought to use every trick in the book to wrestle the children from their mother.-state media

FULL THREAD: Acie Lumumba Speaks

The agenda against me is singular, to separate me from my son, all the images; footage she is leaking to the public is to try claim I’m unwell to care for our son, it’s so unfair and humiliating; but let me respond to this accusation list; we shall meet them in court.??

I was not aware the relationship was even over, while on holiday in December with my family, my sons mother informed me of a new relationship she was in with her new lover who happens to be a friend of mine. It was a devastating couple of days I had no idea our relationship was at that point over.

The address this document has been sent is NOT my address, I am failing to understand why this would be sent to an address that is not mine. That address is the house my late mother lived in and currently no one resides in. I’m so confused.

I did not move to South Africa and leave my son in Zimbabwe, I moved to South Africa WITH my son and his mother, he was still in school in Zimbabwe so only when not in school they would move to me while I prepared their relocation.

I’m not sure how she “realised” I was living with another woman yet she is the one who secured our lease in the very house I live and she has a key to the house. I have never lived with another woman but her in my life.

She says I “forcibly” took our son from her? How does that physically work? Why would you not go to the police, or refuse to leave? How do I forcibly take a human being? We both escorted her to the airpot and she said she would be back in 2 weeks.

She returned to Zimbabwe because her lover who she herself told me called Scott Sakupwanya needed her for an event. Yes we fought about it, I admit, but I did not have issues with her moving on from me, I was now broke and bankrupt, it’s understandable, we agreed the child can stay with me.

I have full evidence that I was the one who begged her to spend Xmas with us because our son missed her terribly. When she got to South Africa I have full evidence we went to a holiday destination out of South Africa. Upon return, she was with me in the same property She holds lease so.

I’m not sure when she found the child in bad health and sores in his mouth, she says I locked my own son in a house. Bizarre, the child has 2 full time nanny’s and a nurse. I challenge her to show me the medical reports.

I will provide the evidence of her being the lease holder of our residence in South Africa. She says my business is not in the best interest of the minor- how ridiculous. My business is how she has clothes and fed herself since I met her.

I have never been to her mothers house, to be clear, her mother was beaten like a dog by her father while living in Ray Kaukondes house in Waterfalls. He kicked them out on the street literally, I built a $300K home for her on a plot she had. Again, we shall bring evidence to court.

She says I have abused her? I have never eat slapped my child, this is such slander and designed to ruin my brand. I have treated this girl like royalty, and what was the reason I abused her again? Did anyone get that part?

Apart from having never been to her “mothers house”. I will call the mother to a lie detector and hear this from her.

She said it’s her who decided to not return my son to me which she is equally admitting she had agreed? She says I pulled him out of school, in court I will show my son is enrolled at Crawford International in South Africa. I was shocked he was not brought back to school as agreed.

What an annexture, pencil written analysis by an non registered professional. Please check with Ministry of Education if they recognise that Organization. The report is fabricated by a non registered organisation. How do you say a top 3 school in Africa is not in his best interests, he must go to a under the tree school in Zimbabwe instead?

She has made attempts where? How? I have called her to speak to my son and she changed numbers. I even travelled to go to Zimbabwe and I learnt to my shock when I got home she sold everything and relocated. The house I had left her in she had sold and put the money with Lunga her lover advisor.

What is the reason she wants to restrict me to 2 weeks on holidays only with my son? Why can’t I be in his life? I am a lot of things, but I’m not a bad father. I have no other family but that boy. The wickedness here is surreal to me.

There are serious cases that hinder why the child should be with me. His healthcare is here, his school is here, his father is here, I offered the mother advance pay of all her flights to see him at will and he can be in Zimbabwe for holiday. She says she has always been taking care of him, she was last employed before he was born, I have taken care of them both since.

How will she look after the child best when her first act is to restrict the child of a father and slander the image of the father to portray me like a monster?

How do you say “fit” in one sentence, then “been doing all along”- the level of disregard of the hand that has fed this family is gut wrenching but that said, I fail to understand why I can’t be given access to the child.

X-Factors Of Mining

X factors of mining “

practical lessons to mining

Like every business mining has its key factors that can make it do extremely well or fail .

Most miners think a good sample will make them succeed unfortunately a good sample is not sustainable unless you know the importance of the following factors in the mining sector. If you master them day by day you will blossom even in dark days and enjoy glory days to the fullest.

Enjoy the ride .
Three pillars of wholesome mining in order
1 strategic management
2 Debt
3 the boss ” gold panner ” tsheketsha korokoza

1 strategic management
The mine manager is key to function his impact is so crucial such his complete absence can be measured by a lot of red flags like low output ; loss of equipment; no records ; lack of proper compliance and production that cannot be measured let alone be sustainable. Before you appoint a manager know your weakness and hire someone who will compliment your weakness. Secondly create a management team that involves you and him stop cellphone management of any kind . Cellphones are good for reports and analysis only . To your team third person in form of someone who compliments his weak ; it can be a blaster or cyanide plant manager depending on which area your manager is good at .

First attribute of your manager should be administration before anything then followed by one of the two pillars of mining leaching and mining. The security guard is not part of management must not be at whatever costs .

Your relatives ( including your wife and kids ) should get a job somewhere else or be prepared to take instructions from a management team never to directly report to you no matter what. Don’t discuss mining issues with them listen to their opinions silently unless if they qualify then appoint them . Paid management team and all your employees well and fire them for underperformance never rehire someone fired by management team .
Debt .

Debt is a cancer affecting the whole world unfortunately in artisanal mining Debt is what Cellphone lines are to econet , Lithium is to Tesla car , imagine if econet will stop selling lines without coming up with an alternative. Most of mining services are paying after work completion which is root causes of all Debts you hear about in mining stories. First artisanal miners use cheapest means to reap gold Most cases they don’t have transport and milling means this leads to smart loans by service providers then all problems begin here .

On top of that all services are available on short term based loan usually supported by black market indirectly which explains why black market cannot disappear overnight.

Since gold is not guaranteed failure to pay these loans forces credit to accumulate to so high levels such that its not surprising to find a mine owner or even worker owing 20 000usd or more ranging from diesel credit, stampmill credit, explosives credit ; rental and electricity credit for domestic purposes or many more . Inorder to survive you have to acquire debt management skills that are not only superb but partnered with discipline. When you decide to invest in a mine a guy with more debt is the perfect partner depending on your analysis because of few factors. If he/she has more it means his mine has a huge potential just mismanagement who can borrow someone with no means to pay .

Number two you use his/ her debt as insurance through what l call debt purchase ” . This desires caution carefully study and implementation. You take his debt but still keep it in his name negotiate for payment plan where possible complete erasing of some of them ( that’s possible ) then use his debt to double you investment on him takes years repairing his debt yet already making profits on it . Let’s miner F owes EMA 3000usd for bills and tickets ; 1500usd ministry of mines tickets; 2000usd stamp mill and 4500usd for car loan and family expenses to make 11 000usd yet you want to invest 25 000usd in his mine you just raise 14 000usd buy his 11 000usd debt ask for payment from ministry of mines and EMA then ask to pay half for stampmill debt or complete erasure then negotiate for transfer of registration first things first then you are in the game .Debt purchase is easier route into a full operational mine . Sometimes you buy personal debt only but be cautious. Will cover debt in a separate post .

3 The boss “tsheketsha; korokoza “
We have a saying ” impara ngelikatsheketsha ” . This means every goldminer has a dry spell or good spell . This means no matter how cautious you are the dry spell will hit you very hard . When supporting this guys financial remember this all the time support them based on performance in areas Iike 1 transparency; consistency, accountability more than the sample. Don’t support them when they are doing well by buying cars and houses at that point they don’t need your help they simply want to use you . Treat them as Kings all the time but don’t borrow them money like you are mother Theresa support them don’t spoiler them hunger and suffering is the manager of “the boss ” the rest is cost . Respect them their dirty is the business part personally any clean person in the mining sector Most probably is a scammmer l don’t trust such lots of them proved to me beyond doubt .

NB for debt purchase model inbox or even debt purchase itself.

President Chamisa Speaks On Gold Looting Scam

Tinashe Sambiri|CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa has said the Al Jazeera documentary on filthy gold scams in Zimbabwe is a glimpse of rampant looting of resources by the Zanu PF regime.

According to President Chamisa, the documentary is a typical revelation of relentless looting, corruption and deceit.

“THE FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD…

The Aljazeera documentary graphically exposes the extent of the rot at the top,but it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

This clearly shows how corrupt, rotten & broken leadership has destroyed a jewel and great country.

Zimbabwe is not poor, it’s just poorly governed,” President Chamisa wrote on Twitter.

Nakamba’s Market Value Falls

Marvelous Nakamba’s market value has significantly dropped despite his recent return to competitive action.

Nakamba spent the first half of the campaign without playing a competitive game.

The Zimbabwean midfielder was frozen out at Aston Villa since the start of the season, with coach Unai Emery later declaring that the player is no longer in his plans and should find a new home.

Following his move to English Championship side Luton Town in late January on a six-month loan deal, Nakamba has found his touch again.

The 28-year-old quickly settled and became a regular in the first team.

He has featured in all of Luton’s last ten matches, starting in nine of those games.

However, this recent redemption has done little in the latest market price valuation update by German website Transfermarkt on 24 March 2023.

The website has valued Nakamba at €4m, one million lesser than his previous market value.- Soccer24 News

Ndiraya Bemoans Defensive Blunders

Simba Bhora coach Tonderai Ndiraya believes his charges should have defended better in their 0-1 loss to Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium today.

Shepherd Mlanga’s solitary second half goal subjected Simba Bhora to their second consecutive loss, after last week’s 1-2 defeat to defending champions FC Platinum.

Speaking after the game, Ndiraya bemoaned defensive mistakes from his troops, something he was disappointed with.

“Today, just like what happend last week, we conceded from a set piece, a direct ball coming from the wings, I thought we defended poorly there and it’s something which I’m very much disappointed about,” said Ndiraya.

“I’m so disappointed that we failed to defend a free kick which we had time to organise. Of course we had a player who was injured, Valentine (Musarurwa) was injured and he had to go out, but we were supposed to organise ourselves.

“I thought we did, but it’s the commitment towards clearing that ball away. We defended cassualy if you ask me, whoever attacked that ball did it casually and Chicken Inn got their goal,” he added.

Mutsvangwa Boasts Of Zanu PF Popularity

ZANU PF has extended voting in the primary elections to this Sunday, with Masvingo and Midlands provinces expected to start voting as scheduled.

The revolutionary ZANU PF party’s internal democratic process received an overwhelming response this Saturday.

Briefing the media at the party’s headquarters in Harare this Saturday evening, ZANU PF National Political Commissar Dr Mike Bimha said centres that completed the voting process should proceed to count votes.

“This massive exercise is testimony to the popularity of President ED Mnangagwa. Due to the multitude of our party faithful who thronged polling stations, the party has been forced to extend voting to the 26th of March. This was due to these boundaries and logistical delays due to numbers. We are expecting 4.3 million voters to vote in these primary elections.

“We received information that some supporters were not captured in cell registers, we urge these supporters to be captured as we march towards the attaining of 5 million votes. The party is seized with getting voting materials and will be extended from 0700hrs to 1300hrs. Those who completed their voting should proceed to count votes and publish then at the centres,” he said.

Dr Bimha also noted that Masvingo and Midlands provinces will commence the voting process this Sunday as scheduled from 0700hrs to 1600hrs.

“Masvingo and Midlands as reported earlier will commence the voting process at 0700hrs to 1600hrs. Returning officers and polling agents at all booths are directed to safeguard the integrity of the voting material,” he said.

ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa said the extension of the voting process is democracy at play.

“We always boast that ZANU PF is there to rule by the consent of the people, extending democracy to the grassroots level. None was disqualified for frivolous reasons. Enthusiasm in the polling booth catering for membership of the party, this election will be the end of CCC,” he said.

ZANU PF’s primary elections are meant to select candidates who will represent the party in the National Assembly, Senate, women and youth quotas as well as local authorities in the forthcoming general elections.- ZBC News

Dear friends;

Practical Guidelines In Mining

Chiefs Pampered With Backdated Covid-19 Allowance

By A Correspondent- Chiefs and village heads are set to receive lump sum payments of at least US$550 each as part of Covid-19 allowances backdated to May 2022.

There are about 26 000 village heads countrywide, who were expected to get US$50 per month from May last year as part of the perks.

Ministry of Local Government and Public Works’ communication and advocacy director Mr Gabriel Masvora said the payments have since been approved and will be distributed through the Salary Service Bureau.

“The ministry has now approved that the village heads receive US$50 per month as the Covid-19 allowance, and it will be backdated to May last year,” he said.

Government introduced a Covid-19 allowance for civil servants in May last year, as they were considered key in the fight against the pandemic.

“Village heads approached the ministry and argued that they have been playing a major role in the fight against the pandemic, hence they deserved to receive the allowances,” added Mr Masvora.

Government has also approved a medical aid facility with the Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) for traditional leaders.

“Government will pay 80 percent of the cost. Chiefs will contribute US$3, sub-chiefs US$2 and village heads US$1 per month towards the medical aid facility,” he said.

The amount will cover a maximum of five family members.

Village heads are traditional leaders who perform a variety of legislative, administrative and ceremonial duties determined by tradition.

ZimParks Kills Problem “Garwe”

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management (Zimparks) has managed to account for a crocodile that recently attacked and seriously injured two teenage boys in the Chivake River in Gutu.

Zimparks spokesperson Tinashe Farawo told The Herald that the crocodile was shot and killed by rangers and its carcass taken to Masvingo. Said Farawo:

We eliminated the crocodile in the Chivake River in Gutu after it attacked and injured two boys who were taken to Chivhu Hospital for treatment. Their condition is stable.

Every time there is a problem animal, Zimparks attends to such situations and either kills the animal or animals or just scares them away and in this case we killed the problem crocodile in Chiguhune.

Farawo implored members of the public to treat water bodies with caution as they risk being attacked by crocodiles.

Cases of human-wildlife conflict have been on the rise in recent years and this has been attributed to a population increase of both humans and wildlife, the effects of climate change, deforestation, illegal cutting of grass, and general mismanagement of natural resources.

“It’s Democracy”: Mutsvangwa

By A Correspondent- Zanu PF has extended voting in the primary elections to this Sunday, with Masvingo and Midlands provinces expected to start voting as scheduled.

Uebert Angel Responds To Al Jazeera Documentary

By A Correspondent- The Office of Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large (OPEAAL) Uebert Angel has responded to the Al Jazeera documentary, which alleged that he is part of the criminals steering gold smuggling and money laundering worth billions of US dollars in Southern Africa.

Al Jazeera, on Thursday, released its first instalment of a four-part documentary which name-dropped government dignitaries involved in illicit gold trade and money laundering in Africa.

As revealed in the documentary’s first episode, the self-styled prophet Angel said he could use his diplomatic status to assist undercover Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit poised as potential investors to smuggle tonnes of gold out of the country.

Uebert Angel Responds To Al Jazeera Documentary Allegations

In a statement released by the Chief Investment Officer at OPEAAL Sobona Mtisi said that he [Angel] played along and exaggerated figures as he suspected something was amiss with the ‘potential investors.”

“Following the release of the Aljazeera documentary titled The Gold Mafia, there has been a lot of misinformation, speculation, and deliberate efforts to scandalise the Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large, H.E Ambassador Uebert Angel. This statement serves to clarify some of the issues raised. These “investors” called the OPEAAL office, were referred to me, and I met with them. I was present at all the meetings, I know what happened and speak in my own capacity…

“Given this strange request, Ambassador Angel suspected something was amiss. He consulted with the Security Experts attached to the OPEAAL, who further advised against arranging a meeting with the President. There was a consensus among the OPEAAL team and security experts that these individuals might not be genuine investors. The challenge was what if the team’s suspicions were wrong, and the country loses billions in investment. On the other hand, what if the team’s suspicions were proved right, what were the implications of meeting these “investors”.

He added that he did not call Rushwaya but a person pretending to be her as a rouse. Angel claims that he also did the same when he called Auxillia Mnangagwa.

The statement reads:

“After these suspicions, the team switched to ‘red’ protocol, with the decision to proceed with extreme caution, be in the middle, and play along, and never to facilitate a meeting between the “investors” and the His Excellency, the President. With this knowledge, and at the insistence of the “investors” Ambassador Angel made several calls to decoys working with our office. It is these decoys who posed as Henrietta Rushwaya, the First Lady, and the First Son.

“Zimbabwean Gold Reserves Will Be Depleted in 20 Years“

Dear Zimbabwe Economic Movement- ZEM,

Gold mining…

As a concerned citizen, I write to you today about the critical issue of our nation’s natural resources, particularly gold mining and its impact on our economy and environment. Zimbabwe is a country blessed with vast reserves of natural resources, including gold, but the management of these resources has been troubling in recent years. Our government has resorted to accepting money from criminals to buy gold from mines with little to no skills, which is degrading our environment and leaving us in debt to these criminal elements.

Divine Mafa

The recent documentary by Al Jazeera has highlighted the fact that 90% of the gold that has been externalized out of Zimbabwe has never made it back to our country.

It’s important to note that Zimbabwe’s gold production remains constant at 600,000 ounces per year, and there are no new significant discoveries, it would take approximately 21-22 years to deplete the known reserves of 13.1 million ounces of gold. However, this is just an estimate, and there are several factors that could affect the actual time it takes to deplete the gold reserves.

Despite this, it’s clear that relying solely on the extraction and sale of natural resources is not a sustainable long-term economic strategy. Therefore, we must work towards creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for our country. Other countries like Britain and France have larger reserves than Zimbabwe, yet they do not mine gold. This highlights the importance of not only managing our resources responsibly but also exploring other opportunities for economic growth and diversification.

Let us work together to build a Zimbabwe that is a shining example of innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and considering this critical issue. I believe that together, we can work towards creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for our country.

Sincerely,
WaMwari Divine Chaminuka Mafa

More Than 450k Register To Vote In Latest Voter Registration Blitz

By A Correspondent- More than 450 000 people have registered to vote during the final nationwide biometric voter registration exercise that ends today.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) will now begin the process of removing duplicate registrants using its high-tech fingerprint identification system, before all genuine new voters are added to the voters’ roll.

The number of registered voters could rise to more than six million for the first time in the country’s history, once ZEC completes the deduplication exercise.

Ahead of the voter registration blitz, there were around 5,8 million people on the voters’ roll.

ZEC acting chief elections officer Ms Charity Ngandini said the final number of new registrations will be announced after removal of all duplicates.

“The commission recorded a cumulative total of 451 811 initial registrants across provinces as at March 21, 2023,” she said.

“A total of 191 738 transfers were also recorded during the initial 10 days of the mobile exercise.

“Please, note that voter registration statistics recorded in the field do not necessarily reflect the actual entries that are finally added to the voters’ roll.

“The commission will announce the final figure after running the fingerprint identification system to remove duplicates.”

Statistics obtained from ZEC show that Matabeleland North province has the highest number of new registrants at 93 275, while Bulawayo recorded the least number of new registrants (9 968).

In Harare province, 58 679 people registered as new voters, while Mashonaland West had 53 939 new registrants, with 48 096 others registering in Midlands province.

Mashonaland Central province had 46 036 new registrants, while 45 745 new voters were recorded in Masvingo province.

Manicaland recorded 43 741 new voters, with 38 016 registering in Mashonaland East, while Matabeleland South registered 14 316.

The registration blitz, which began on March 12, ran for two weeks.

Ms Ngandini said following conclusion of the voter registration exercise, the commission will undertake data cleaning processes, which will be followed by public inspection of the voters’ roll.

She said one of the main challenges faced by the commission during the exercise was the number of duplicate voters.

“The commission is worried about the number of people who continue to be turned away during this exercise for the same reasons, as previously reported, already registered, aliens or non-Zimbabwean citizens,” she added.

“However, it is noted that some of the initial registrants are duplicates and that some voters have transferred more than once within the same period.”

Last year, ZEC expressed concern over some non-governmental organisations and civil society organisations that were providing incentives to hundreds of people to register to vote, resulting in the people making multiple registrations for them to access the money.

The duplicate registrants were exposed after ZEC’s ultra-modern biometric registration system — which, among other things, enables fingerprint mapping — flagged those who had registered multiple times.

Zimbabwe will hold its harmonised elections later this year, with ZEC having tabled a $130 billion budget to conduct the polls.

Treasury is now expected to start disbursing the funds for the polls.-statemedia

Chaos Mars Zanu Pf Primaries

By A Correspondent- Zanu-PF yesterday held chaotic primary elections marred by violence and vote rigging claims with some candidates’ names missing from cell registers while ballots were not delivered in some areas.

In Mashonaland Central, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s shadowy campaign team, the Forever Associates Zimbabwe Trust (FAZ), was accused of vote rigging in Bindura, Muzarabani, Mt Darwin and Rushinga where 27 cell registers were reported missing.

Some polling stations were yet to receive ballot papers by 4pm in the province.

“The way FAZ is conducting elections in Mt Darwin raises a lot of questions.

“How can cell registers be missing honestly?,” a disappointed Zanu-PF member said.

In Matabeleland South, Beitbridge, police were summoned late yesterday afternoon to restore order at Beitbridge Mission where chaotic scenes were the order of the day.

Several Beitbridge candidates slept at their district command centre housed at the Beitbridge Old Police Station command centre fearing ballot box stuffing.

“This is real politics; we slept here to guard our interests,” a candidate said.

At 6am, several policemen were deployed to different polling stations spread across the district with some centres 150km away from the command centre.

Unlike in the past where only the Zanu-PF old guard including senator Tambudzani Mohadi and Metrine Mudau featured in the primaries, yesterday there were youths contesting.

In Matobo’s ward 25, elections were called off because of violence. The violence was sparked by vote rigging reports.

Fear and intimidation characterised the elections in Mashonaland West with scores of people failing to find their names in the voter’s register.

When The Standard visited a polling station at Chegutu Country Club the queue, mainly composed of illegal artisanal miners, was moving slowly with scores of people complaining that their names had disappeared from the voters’ roll.

Sitting MP Dexter Nduna was facing off with Farai Chigavazira.

Supporters linked to Chigavazira stormed Bosbury Primary School armed with machetes to stop the elections in Ward 24 before taking away voting materials.

In Sanyati Constituency, the two front-runners, Mines deputy minister Polite Kambamura and Thembikosi Magwaliba were both accused of violence and intimidation of each other’s supporters.

In Hurungwe East, some voters failed to vote at Kavaya Secondary School, Chimusimbe Primary School and Zvarai Primary School because there were no ballot papers.

Zanu-PF members in Murewa South Constituency were left seething with anger after ballot boxes failed to be availed in time.

In Murewa South, voting continued beyond 4pm.

In Marondera East Constituency, at Mountview Training Centre, a number of voters were still to cast their votes after 2pm.

Speaking to The Standard, some voters claimed that their names were missing from the cell registers despite the recent cell verification exercise.

Some voters at Chikangwe hall in Hurungwe said their names were missing from cell registers and chaos and confusion reigned supreme.

A voters’ cell register for the Johane Marange Apostolic sect members went missing at Chikangwe hall.

Some Apostolic sect members tried to break into the hall as they demanded explanations from the election teams.

It was the same story in Matabeleland North where some voters failed to find their names on the voters ‘roll.

A Zanu-PF member who wanted to cast his vote at Lupane Primary School complained that their names were struck off from the voters’ roll.

” It all points to rigging,” he said.

There was also chaos in Manicaland where ballots were delivered late.

Zanu-PF Commisor Mike Bimha said some areas had been allowed to extend voting to between 7am and 1pm today.

More Zimbos To Be Repatriated Back Home

The Government says it plans to repatriate more Zimbabweans who are stranded in Oman, an Arab country located in Western Asia.

The Zimbabwean nationals, the majority of who were females, were lured into slavery through false promises of well-paying domestic work in Oman.

Speaking to The Sunday Mail, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage permanent secretary Major-General (retired) Dr. Gerald Gwinji said 107 women and men were repatriated from Middle Eastern country.

However, according to the Government’s database, about 21 Zimbabweans remain stranded in the country. Said Gwinji:

In response to distress calls made by victims of trafficking in Oman, the Government of Zimbabwe allocated resources through Treasury for the repatriation of 107 Zimbabwean nationals.

There have been several reports of Zimbabweans who have fallen victim to traffickers.
Using information extracted from the reports, a WhatsApp platform was created to facilitate coordination and to have an appreciation of the number of victims of human trafficking and, as of December 2022, at least 128 people have been trafficked to Oman, with the majority having been repatriated by Government.

Furthermore, Government is considering carrying out the second phase of the repatriation exercise to bring back stranded Zimbabwean nationals in our database.

A total of 69 cases of trafficking in persons (TIP) involving 139 victims of trafficking were recorded and investigated.

Seven suspects were arrested for TIP in 2022 and are currently in custody pending trial, while three were arrested for domestic trafficking cases.

Suspected human trafficker on the run

Police have since launched a manhunt for Jacqueline Takure, nee Chikukwa (45) who is wanted for questioning in connection with suspected human trafficking.

In 2022, Takure allegedly posed as an employment agent and misrepresented to five people that she could facilitate their employment in well-paying hotels in Dubai.

She then facilitated the travel of the victims to Oman where they had their passports confiscated by her accomplices on arrival.

Kafala System

Most Gulf nations enforce the kafala labour system. According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the system gives private citizens and companies in Jordan, Lebanon, and most Arab Gulf countries almost total control over migrant workers’ employment and immigration status.

The kafala system resembles a form of indirect slavery, making it harder for migrants to escape such dreadful situations, according to a report.

Female domestic workers who attempt to run away reportedly fall victim to sex traffickers.

Auxillia Mnangagwa In The Next Al Jazeera Gold Smuggling Documentary

By-First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa and her son Emmerson Junior will most likely feature in Al Jazeera’s “Gold Mafia” documentary, with three out of four episodes yet to be premiered, it has emerged.
This was revealed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Ambassador At Large Uebert Angel in a statement released on Saturday as his office tried to clear his name after undercover Al Jazeera journalists showed him offering to launder US$1.2 billion boasting that he was the second-most-powerful person in Zimbabwe.
In the first episode of the documentary, titled “The Laundry Service”, Angel is seen calling Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) president Henrietta Rushwaya in the presence of the undercover reporters.
Angel made the calls in an attempt to convince the “investors” that he was able to facilitate the laundering of more than a billion US dollars in cash.
However, in a statement on Saturday, Angel’s office said during his interactions with the Al Jazeera crew, he suspected that they were not genuine and decided to use “decoys”.
Angel inadvertently revealed that the President’s wife and son will feature in the documentary when he said “these decoys… posed as Henrietta Rushwaya, the First Lady and the First Son”.
A statement released on his behalf by the Chief Investment Officer in the Office of Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large (OPEAAL), Sobona Mtisi, read in part:
After these suspicions, the team switched to ‘red’ protocol, with the decision to proceed with extreme caution, be in the middle, and play along, and never to facilitate a meeting between the “investors” and the His Excellency, the President.
With this knowledge, and at the insistence of the “investors” Ambassador Angel made several calls to decoys working with our office.
It is these decoys who posed as Henrietta Rushwaya, the First Lady, and the First Son.
The calls to the decoys were made in light of the leading questions asked by the “investors”.
They kept pushing to have the First Family in the discussion, especially the First Lady and the President.
They even threw in figures to help in the charity organisation which Ambassador Angel refused and even told them he had his own money; this part was omitted from the documentary.
It’s just amazing how people are made to believe what has been propagated as gospel.
The best these people got are the audios from the decoys, they never got the chance to film the President or the First Lady because the Ambassador was already informed by the security agents prior to getting in the meeting that they didn’t have the money they claimed to have.
However, as aforementioned, we battled with what if the intelligence is wrong and the country loses the much-needed investment.
The decoys helped in asserting that if they were real investors, we would be able to get it from their reactions after the call.
There is no way Ambassador Angel could get hold of the First Lady and First Son without pre-arrangements and standard security clearance procedures in place in meeting with the First Family.
Moreover, the Ambassador has never met the First Lady. They never met and never had any direct dealings.
It would have been prudent for these “investors” to verify if the calls were indeed made to the people that Ambassador claimed to be calling.

Zanu PF Councilor Slapped For Bedding Colleague’s Wife

By- A Bindura Zanu PF councillor was publicly beaten up for bedding a colleague’s wife.

According to the Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP), Bindura North Ward 12 Councillor, Wendile Machisi was assaulted by one Webester, who accused him of bedding his wife.

During the assault, Machisi did not retaliate but remained calm, fearing he would be disqualified ahead of the ZANU PF primary elections. ZPP said:

On 17 March, in Bindura North Ward 12, ZANU PF sitting councillor Wendile Machisi was assaulted by a Bindura University student identified as Webester during a campaign rally at the Progress Shopping Centre bus terminus.

The incident happened around 5 PM when Machisi was addressing residents ahead of the ruling party primary elections.

Machisi was slapped in the face by Webester who accused him of having an affair with his wife.

Machisi did not fight back but only warned his bodyguards to remain calm in fear of being disqualified.

Uebert Angel Provokes Another Coup

By-Self-proclaimed prophet and Gold smuggler Uebert Angel is provoking another military coup after undermining the Vice President and former Zimbabwe Defence Forces Boss, Constantino Chiwenga.

Angel has said he was more powerful than the organiser and leader of the November 2017 coup that toppled the late President Robert Mugabe from power.

The controversial preacher said he was second in command after President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

If the claims are anything to go by, Angel occupies a higher position than Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.
Chiwenga was the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) when the military staged a coup in November 2017, which removed former President Robert Mugabe from power.
Some political commentators believe Chiwenga is the man in charge of the country, with Mnangagwa just the face of the government.
Angel, who was appointed a special envoy and ambassador-at-large to Europe and the Americas by Mnangagwa in 2021, boastfully told Al Jazeera undercover journalists the position was created specifically for him. He said:
I am an ambassador-at-large; I am an ambassador to 85 countries. As the special envoy, I am a representative of the President.
If you then look on paper in that position, I am number two, and there is no position like that in the country.
It was just one position that was never filled in. And I occupy that, it was created for me.
Angel is a self-proclaimed prophet at his Good News Church and claims he can heal the sick and predict the outcomes of elections and football matches.
In Episode One of the Al Jazeera documentary, Gold Mafia, Angel boasted that he could assist his guests to launder as much as US$1 billion in cash using diplomatic cover.
Angel appeared to be encouraging them to take advantage of his close ties with Mnangagwa.

Lumumba Shares A Sad Story Of His Battle With Cancer And A Cheating Wife

Former ZANU PF member William Gerald Mutumanje a.k.a Acie Lumumba has revealed that he went bankrupt last year and spent several months on cancer treatment.

Posting on social media, Lumumba also claimed that his wife, Lillian Madyara, cheated on him with his friends Zweli Lunga and Scott Sakupwanya.

“I am dealing with an incredibly painful public failure at the moment, In December last year I became bankrupt and went into debt after spending 5 months cancer treatments.

“My wife confessed she was having an affair with Zweli Lunga and Scott Sakupwanya friends and business associates I had known for over 10 years; when I knew of my sickness I moved all my assets into her name for the sake of our son.

“There are things about to come out that will embarrass any man and destroy any ego but I ask again that you understand it’s sensitive and I would have preferred it private, they have just chosen to make a public humiliation out of me.

“I have learned on Monday I will be served with a ‘cease and desist’ order to not mention the matter, Zweli got her to sell all my assets which I have no issues with- I’ll rebuild it all.

“The real issue is her two lovers are so hell-bent on proving a point they are using all influence to restrict me from access to my son.

“They have requested the courts to never allow me time with my son by myself.

“As they start their campaign of mistruths exclusively designed to prove I’m unfit to father my son, do remember I’m just a father desperate to be in his child’s life.

I just want access to my son, I think it is brutally dark and wicked for them to restrict that. Even if I was a monster, he’s my son, except I’ve done nothing but work like a junkyard dog for that boy.I am currently consulting legal guidance but I challenge them to a lie detector on my account to validate a single line of lies they are peddling.

“I have to fight for my son, I don’t know what else to do.”

In October 2018, Lumumba was appointed as the chairman of the communication task force by the Minister of Finance Mthuli Ncube.

He then named Mirirai Chiremba, Norman Mataruka, Gresham Muradzikwa and Azvinandawa Saburi as the chief culprits behind parallel markets’ nefarious activities.

This saw RBZ Governor Dr John Mangudya suspend the four to pave way for investigations.

Ncube fired Lumumba as chairman of the Communications Taskforce in the ministry, three days after his appointment.

Govt Promises 400 Blocks Of Flats Ahead Of 2023 Elections

About 400 blocks of flats will be constructed countrywide, starting this year, with Government facilitating the projects as the Second Republic steps up efforts to deliver modern housing to the people.
The bulk of the high-rise apartments will be built in rural areas.

The scheme will start with a pilot project in Mtawatawa, Mashonaland East Province, which will be replicated in all the eight rural provinces.

Skyscrapers are part of the more than 10 000 housing units set to be delivered this year through synergies between Government and the private sector.

Africa’s leading housing financier, Shelter Afrique, is one of the biggest partners Government has enlisted for the construction boom, after it provided US$25 million to Zimbabwe, with prospects for more funding.

In an interview with the state owned Sunday Mail, National Housing and Social Amenities Permanent Secretary Engineer Joy Makumbe said Government is implementing its policy where all new housing projects should have a provision of 40 percent of buildings going up.

“The ministry is targeting to directly develop about 386 flats units this year and upwards of 2 000 stands. The Government is mainly a facilitator in the housing development sector,” said Eng Makumbe.

“As a ministry, we understand that land is a finite resource, and that all land is not for housing only but also for other activities such as agriculture. Therefore, the Zimbabwe National Human Settlement Policy stipulates that layout plans for human settlements have to dedicate 40 percent to densification, that is, high-rise flats and cluster homes.”

She said Government has been able to attract foreign direct investment to speed up delivery of modern housing.

“In 2022, a local institution managed to access US$11 million from Shelter Afrique.

“Shelter Afrique has provided a US$25 million Sovereign Loan Fund to the Government of Zimbabwe for its housing projects. To date, there are pending loan applications by various financial institutions in excess of US$50 million that are being considered by Shelter Afrique,” said Eng Makumbe.

On smart cities, Eng Makumbe said her ministry was wrapping up some matters with other ministries to ensure the projects were implemented.

“Presently, the ministry is finalising issues to do with land for smart cities with the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works; the

Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development; and AFC bank.

“The ministry is negotiating with potential financiers — in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development; the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works; the Chirundu Local Board and other stakeholders — about Chirundu Smart City,” she said.

Housing delivery is one of the 14 national priority areas under the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS 1).

Eng Makumbe said Government is walking the talk in addressing the national housing backlog.

“The NDS 1 articulates that the Government has a target to provide 220 000 housing units by the year 2025. As of December 2022, we had 156 000 housing units delivered,” she said.

One of the challenges besetting the housing sector has been informal settlements, but Eng Makumbe said Government had created a conducive environment for housing development by providing policy direction and regulatory frameworks to address this concern.

“We have managed to contain or, rather, deprive further invasion of informal settlements, specifically in wetlands and dysfunctional settlements. We have taken a step in addressing challenges of dysfunctional settlements through regularisation, as is the case with Gimboki in Mutare,” she said.

Speaking at the launch of the Fontaine Ridge Housing Project in Harare last Wednesday, President Mnangagwa said, as part of implementing Vision 2030, the Second Republic is “collaborating with key stakeholders to make the country’s human settlements resilient and sustainable to improve the people’s quality of life”. —-Sunday Mail

Government Prioritises Media Freedom

THE Government has come up with a raft of measures to guarantee the safety of media practitioners during the upcoming harmonised elections.

A few months before the country’s harmonised elections, the government is prioritising media freedom and the safety of journalists.

A forum on media and elections coverage convened in Harare this Friday saw the government noting various policies implemented under the second republic to ensure a conducive operating environment for journalists.

“During the elections, the Government of Zimbabwe will monitor closely the state of press freedom and the safety of journalists, much of this will be done by MICZ, BAZ, ZEC, civic society and the Ministry,” said the Chief Director in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Mr Jonathan Gandari.

“Once any violations on journalists are reported, the government will investigate such specific issues and prosecution will be supported. International days such as World Press Freedom Day, and World Radio Day, among others are important and have in the past led to the repeal of laws impeding press freedom, and suggested ways of ensuring the safety of journalists and addressing the issue of impunity.

“The government recognised the importance of ensuring the safety of journalists in a structured way by enacting laws that would serve as a reference for media practice. On this front, the Government put in place institutions to strengthen the work of journalists including the Media Commission of Zimbabwe and the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe and during elections, the Electoral Act is clear on this.”

Legal frameworks governing electoral coverage also came under the spotlight and media practitioners are convinced that the steps taken by the government will allow them to carry out their duties without fear or favour.

“As media practitioners, we are excited that we are going to carry out our duties without fear and favour because the government assured us that we will be protected during the Election period,” said journalist Thabani Gambiza.

“Today we have representatives from the Police, Zimbabwe Electoral Commission and the media. The purpose was to discuss what should be done during the election covering process and how journalists should be protected. So the government has promised us that our safety will be protected,” said Media Alliance of Zimbabwe coordinator Mr Nigel Nyamutumbu.

The Second Republic has taken deliberate steps to create a free and safe media environment for journalists, while several television and radio stations have been licenced as part of efforts to open up the airwaves.- ZBC News

#GOLDMAFIA: ZANU PF To Expel Passion Java

The wealth-flaunting preacher, Passion Java will be kicked out of ZANU PF soon, a leading ZANU PF opinion-pusher has said.

Writing against the backdrop of public outrage over the revelations in the ongoing Al Jazeera documentary, #GOLDMAFIA, the Herald columnist, Reason Wafawarova said:

This idiot son of a scumbag and sorry excuse for a human being thinks Zanu PF is a safe house for criminals.

We will protect the revolutionary party from criminals like him. We will put him where he belongs.

Zanu PF buries nharadada. Pasi pasi muvhu nenharadada.

DeMbare Reject PSL Suspension

Harare giants Dynamos have rebuffed the suspension of their welfare manager Richard Cbihoro by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) over an ‘anti-juju’ ritual during their match against Hwange.

Chihoro was suspended by the PSL after he sprinkled some unknown substance at the Mpilo End goal post during DeMbare’s 1-0 win over Chipangano at Babourfields Stadium on Saturday.

The PSL ordered that Chihoro will not be allowed anywhere near the team bus, changing rooms or to sit in the technical area during PSL matches until the matter has been finalised on the 5th of April.

But DeMbare argue the suspension of Chihoro is a nulity because he has not appeared before the PSL disciplinary committee.

A statement by Dynamos reads: “Dynamos Football Club, pursuant to the charging of the club manager Mr Richard Chihoro, would like to confirm the following:

  1. That the team manager was served with the summonses to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on 5th April 2023;
  2. That PSL secretariat did not act professionally in handling the matter as they rushed to the media before serving the accused with the summonses as per
    standard practice;
  3. That the PSL secretariat wilfully usurped the powers of judicial bodies of football
by ordering that Mr Chihoro’s accreditation be withdrawn and that he be nowhere near the team bus, technical dug out and changing rooms until the matter was finalised. Such an order must come from a competent judicial body and not the secretariat
  4. That Mr Chihoro remains an employee of Dynamos Footbal cub and that he will be expected to carry out his duties as per his contract with the club until such a time that a judicial determination makes such pronouncement.
  5. That Dynamos Football Club shall not comply with unlawful instructions coming from Officers of the League.

Meanwhile, the club has been served with summonses to appear before the PSL
Disciplinary Committee for alleged offences arising out of the Hwange vs Dynamos
match. Both the club and the team manager will appear before the PSL Disciplinary
Committee on 5th April 2023.

Bayern Munich Sack Coach

FC Bayern announce the sacking of head coach Julian Nagelsmann with an immediate effect.

The gaffer joined the Bavarians less than two years.

The club has appointed Thomas Tuchel as his replacement until 2025.

A statement by Bayern confirmed the technical changes: “FC Bayern and head coach Julian Nagelsmann have parted company.

“This decision was taken by CEO Oliver Kahn and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić in consultation with club president Herbert Hainer. Nagelsmann will be succeeded by Thomas Tuchel.”

Along with Nagelsmann, assistant coaches Dino Toppmöller, Benjamin Glück and Xaver Zembrod have also been released.

Commenting on the changes, Kahn said: “When we signed Julian Nagelsmann for FC Bayern in the summer of 2021, we were convinced we would work with him on a long-term basis – and that was the goal of all of us right up to the end.

“Julian shares our aspiration to play successful and attractive football. But now we have come to the conclusion that the quality in our squad – despite the Bundesliga title last year – has come to the fore less and less often. After the World Cup we have played less successfully and less attractively.

“The big fluctuations in performance have cast doubt on our goals for this season, but also our goals for the future. That is why we have acted now. Personally and on behalf of FC Bayern, I would like to thank Julian and his coaching team, and wish everyone the best of luck for the future.”- Soccer24 News

President Chamisa Slams Mnangagwa Over Gold Looting Scam

Mnangagwa Folds Arms As Cronies Steal Country’s Gold

AL Jazeera finally dropped its explosive documentary exposing how hundreds of millions worth of gold was being smuggled out to Dubai by a well knit circle of high ranking officials who include Ambassador at Large Uebert Angel and the controversial Henrietta Rushwaya.

Titled ‘The Laundry Service,’ the first of four episodes, sees Angel offering his diplomat status to undercover Al Jazeera journalists posing as potential clients for use in smuggling of US$1.2 billion into Zimbabwe from Macau and Hong Kong.

The dirty money, smuggled via ‘headquarters’ in Dubai is then used to purchase gold from artisanal miners through government’s Fidelity Printers and Refiners (FPR) for sale out of the country.

This is alleged to be the New Dispensation’s plan to bust ‘sanctions.’

In the video, the self proclaimed Prophet, in cahoots with Rushwaya presents himself as the central figure in his interactions with Mr. Stanley, the undercover journalist.

“We have done maybe US$100 to US$300 million but not one billion per se,” claims Angel.

“I am the second largest diplomat in the country. You know I can carry him in a bag and no one can touch that bag, no one is allowed .

“Right now I can have a bag like this with US$1.2 billion and put a red tape written diplomat, that’s it.

“It is a very, very easy thing. It will land in Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe can’t touch it until it gets to my house.”

He however is not the only one involved in the process, according to the documentary hundreds of millions more worth of gold are being smuggled by similar syndicates.

Shadowy businessman Simon Rudland, Kenyan born Kamleshi Pattni who had to flee his country of birth for Zimbabwe and a series of couriers are implicated.

Documents from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) and FPR are flung throughout the film to support agreements and purchases of gold between government and those implicated.

This is despite RBZ Governor John Panonetsa Mangudya’s fervent rebuttal of the allegations earlier this month.

“It is particularly strange that the reports claim that ‘through the Bank, Government is using illicit ways as a scheme to bust international sanctions placed on political leaders and government entities’. The Bank is not a sanctioned entity, and the cited individuals are not sanctioned persons either,” Mangudya said.

Ewan “Mr. Gold” Macmillan, whose clip calling Vice President Constantino Chiwenga a dunderhead once circulated, acknowleges that Pattni moves more gold than him but accuses him of being a thief.

Adds Pattni: “Right now they are quite stable. They are happy, they are recovering well.. the good thing is that their President (Emmerson Mnangagwa) listens.”

The episode ends with Angel demanding a US$200,000 facilitation fee from the undercover journalists, for them to meet Mnangagwa who was then attending COP 23.

Gold Mining Dynamics

By A Correspondent

Gold is leading economic booster of major towns and growth points in Zimbabwe .

You have to understand how the economy of gold works .

Gold itself is currency that can be exchanged many times before reaching the reserve bank. You have to pick what meets your personality inorder to cut your piece in this larger cake of natural resource tactfully inorder to save resources and avoid risks.

These opportunities range from setting up a hardware in growth points , setting up a food out in growth points and as close as possible to the mines as possible, construction company, retail shop, clothing shops in growth points and many more .In this post we will cover direct opportunities right inside the mine .

1 Transport and logistics
You buy a truck or tractor to service surrounding mines for a fee depending on local prices.

Consider the following when buying a tractor or truck

1 cheap: in order to compete well you should cut the cost of buying a tractor or truck preferably old model with parts available in the country.
2 reliable: get something that would be accessible easily; with less breakdowns, a good driver who can put up in the Bush with a functioning fone .

3 Affordable your pricing is should be reasonable or inline with local prices for innovators try pay “pay per view model ” . Charging per kilometre .

Budget between 6000usd and 10 000usd . Return on investment around 6months.
Supply of raw materials by loan.

You sell directly to miners explosives, diesel and compressor by loan
Explosives: help them to get a licence to store and use explosives then buy and sell to them at profit inside the licensed mine only.

Diesel supply diesel to miners at loan or agreed fee payment after milling.

Compressor hire : buy a compressor loan for shares and cash payments.

For the above three Budget starts from 2000usd upwards .
Cyanide plant building: Budget 5000usd upwards this cannot be covered in one post .

Selling safety clothing: one of major high income with less capital is selling safety clothing to miners for cash regardless of how many outlets have been opened .

Diesel powered windlass: this is a Chinese version of headgear but cannot be classified as one can move a tonne of ore at once versus 0;1tonne for traditional human powered windlass.
Mine compliance assistance : some people struggle to maintain and meet mining standards they could need financing.
Budget open .

NB there are investments as low as 500usd but difficult to maintain and risky recommended for those already familiar with the industry.

CORPSE THEFT: White People Invade Britain From Zimbabwe

EDITORIAL: An old British newspaper article went viral on Thursday over how certain vapositori sect members are wreaking havoc in UK backyards making unexplained noises.

… this practice continues across UK to this day and one church leader Bishop Miriam, Maina Tarugarira (South End-On-Sea) was recently caught running off with the corpse of sociallite, Jackie Ngarande’s cousin, a story investigated by ZimEye that’s now a police case. The preacher later secretly buried the body of the woman, she had demanded must release her bank account’s pin code before shutting her eyes. (*video loads below…)

The preacher’s brother has since been deported from the UK following the investigations, in which key witnesses narrated how she ordered that the church’s doctrine be assembled from a combination of witchcraft, Catholicism, and pentecostalism in order to captivate customers as a “powerful” congregation.

As they start their campaign of mistruths exclusively designed to prove I’m unfit to father my son, do remember I’m just a father desperate to be in his child’s life. I just want access to my son, I think it is brutally dark and wicked for them to restrict that. Even if I was a monster, he’s my son, except I’ve done nothing but work like a junk yard dog for that boy ?. I am currently consulting legal guidance but I challenge them to a lie detector on my account to validate a single line of lies they are pedalling. I have to fight for my son, I don’t know what else to do ?

Mahere Deletes ‘Leaked Audio’ As Rushwaya’s ZMF Proves It’s Fake

By A Correspondent | CCC Spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere was forced to delete an audio circulated accusing Zimbabwe Miners Federation President Henrietta Rushwaya.

ZMF dismissed the audio of a woman many Zimbabweans claimed is Rushwaya. The clip has a woman responding to the Al Jazeera documentary #GOLDMAFIA. The organisation in a statement said its: “board is hereby denouncing audio circulation on social media platforms purporting to be that of The ZMF President Henrietta Rushwaya. The audio is meant to tarnish the image of the ZMF President and that of the organisation.

“The ZMF Constitution article 12.1.2 precludes its leadership from actively participating in politics. The ZMF is an apolitical organisation and you’re advised to disregard that fake, malicious and mischievous audio.

“Please be guided accordingly.

Uebert Angel Insults Chiwenga, Says Jenarari Hachisi Chinhu

By-Self-proclaimed prophet and Gold smuggler Uebert Angel said he was more powerful than the Vice President and former ZDF commander Constantino Chiwenga and claimed he was second in command after President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

If the claims are anything to go by, it means that Angel occupies a higher position than Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Passion Java In Next Al Jazeera Corruption Documentary?

Passion Java with Emmerson Mnangagwa

By James Gwati-Zimbabweans are asking if the controversial preacher Panganayi Java. AKA. Passion Java would not be featured in the next episodes of the Al Jazeera investigation, “Gold Mafia”.

The documentary uncovers criminals driving gold smuggling and money laundering worth billions of dollars in Southern Africa.

Most featured in the 1st episode of the documentary is another controversial preacher, Uebert Angel, who was appointed the Zimbabwe Ambassador at large by the Zanu PF government.

Java also works with Zanu PF and has unlimited access to President Emerson Mnangagwa.
The opposition CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, has since voiced against the grand corruption exposed by this documentary.
Chamisa tweeted Friday:
The fish rots from the head #Aljazeeradocumentary exposes the extent of the rot at the top, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
This clearly shows how corrupt, rotten and broken leadership has destroyed a jewel and great country. Zimbabwe is not poor, it’s just poorly governed.
In a follow-up statement, CCC condemned the corruption, saying the provision of social services in the country has collapsed while millions are being looted. The opposition party said:
While our health, education and infrastructure systems are on their deathbed, the few elites who are connected to government officials are making at least US$80 million every month through one of our valuable natural resources, gold.
On Thursday, 23 March, Al Jazeera released Episode One of Gold Mafia (The Laundry Service) a four-part series.
Uebert Angel, a new-age pastor who was appointed a special envoy and ambassador-at-large to Europe and the Americas by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2021, his deputy Rikki Doolan, and Mnangagwa’s niece Henrietta Rushwaya, who is the president of the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF), are named as part of the mafia.
In “The Laundry Service” episode, a former accountant of Kamlesh Pattni, a gold smuggler implicated in a scandal that robbed Kenya of 10 percent of its GDP in the 1990s, said his former boss is duping Zimbabwean government officials. Said the former accountant:
He (Pattni) exports jewellery and gold bars to Dubai and the rest of the world. In exchange, he has to bring foreign currency to Zimbabwe. On paper, he is bringing money to Zimbabwe.
The accountant said Pattni would declare a fraction of the value of Zimbabwean gold sold abroad and keep the rest of the proceeds out of the country.

Machisi did not fight back but only warned his bodyguards to remain calm in fear of being disqualified.

Chamisa Speaks On Al Jazeera Corruption Documentary

By-Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa says Zimbabwe’s current leadership is corrupt and rotten to the core.

UK Puts Zimbabwe On Red List For Healthcare Job Recruitment

By Dorrothy Moyo | The United Kingdom has put Zimbabwe on the red list for health and social care jobs recruitment.

A British government statement says this is because of a UN process to protect the countries with the most pressing job shortage needs. Part of the statement says:

Heath and social care organisations in England do not actively recruit from those countries the World Health Organization (WHO) recognise as having the most pressing health and care workforce-related challenges unless there is government to government agreement to support managed recruitment activities. Through effective bilateral work – such as our memorandums of understanding with the governments of India, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines and Sri Lanka – we are working in partnership to support well managed migration pathways that deliver benefits to the NHS, the health or care professionals, and the sending country.

We are committed to regularly updating the code. In this edition, you will see that we have responded to concerns that have arisen over the last year, including:

    • strengthening the best practice benchmarks to ensure fairness and consistency in employment contracts, and set out principles on the use of repayment clauses in employment contracts
    • setting out the routes of escalation for concerns about exploitative recruitment or employment practices and breaches of the code
    • providing more clarity on how the code applies to different international recruitment models
    • introducing a knowledge test for recruiting organisations applying to be on the ethical recruiters list
    • expanding the scenario examples

In actively addressing emerging issues of concern we aim to maintain the highest ethical standards in all international recruitment activity undertaken in the UK.

Mnangagwa Takes Former Opposition Members Into Primaries

Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu-PF party has allowed former opposition members to contest in this week’s internal polls, as President Emmerson Mnangagwa breaks with tradition, the Zimbabwe Independent can report.

Ahead of Zanu-PF’s primary polls set for Saturday, former members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) and Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) will be among the contestants.

Winners of the primary elections earn the right to represent Zanu-PF in crunch general elections expected in July or August this year.

Former G40 members, who were aligned to the late president Robert Mugabe during divisions in the party before the 2017 coup, have also been given the greenlight to contest in the primary elections.

Traditionally, Zanu-PF members returning from suspension after joining the opposition, or for other reasons only become ordinary card-carrying members.

They will not be allowed to contest for any positions until a minimum period of five years lapses.

Zanu-PF’s internal elections were initially slated for Saturday last week, but were shelved following an overwhelming response by aspirants, who want to represent the party in the senatorial, national assembly and council elections.

While the party received as many as 15 contestants vying for some constituencies and council seats, Zanu-PF insiders said concessions were being reached to reduce the numbers.

“There are areas where leaders have been overwhelmed, but there has been a trend in Zanu-PF where candidates reach consensus and pave way for each other,” a source said this week.

The Independent understands that concessions have been reached in several districts, including Gutu Masvingo, where Mines minister Winston Chitando and National Housing deputy minister Yeukai Simbanegavi were vying for the Gutu Central candidacy.

However, according to the final list released on Wednesday, Chitando will stand uncontested.

Simbanegavi will represent the party in the women’s quota for the district.

Zanu-PF national secretary for the commissariat Mike Bimha confirmed this week that there were challenges in some areas.

“The politburo went through the CVs,” Bimha said. “The instructions were clear that no CV was to be denied. Those meeting the requirements were allowed to contest. A decision was made to allow members from CCC and MDC as returnees to contest if they wanted to for any seats they so desired.”

The decision to let former opposition members to contest in the primaries would be a welcome development for members like Tongai Matutu, a leading official in the Morgan Tsvangirai-led MDC.

Gold Mafia Documentary Part 1 Once Again

VIDEO LOADING BELOW…

-RBZ statement on 6 March 2023-
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (the Bank) is concerned and disturbed by sensationally wild, false and malicious media reports, carried in snippets of an unscreened Al Jazeera documentary, produced by the network’s Investigative Unit, purveying the impression that the Bank is “Southern Africa’s laundromat” or “Southern Africa’s laundry service” for an alleged African gold mafia involved in illicit gold dealings, corruption and money laundering.

The snippets cite a few boastful and name-dropping individuals, who neither work for nor represent the Bank in any capacity, as sources of the allegations. The outrageous reports quote one of the cited individuals as boasting that he has diplomatic cover to “fly dirty cash into Zimbabwe where it can be laundered through gold and other investments”. Another individual is reported to have asserted that “there is an opportunity, a bell of a big opportunity to wash money here [in Zimbabwe]”. Yet another self-serving claim is that one individual bragged that his phone “is on speed dial” with the Bank’s Governor. These are all false and malicious allegations.

It is unbelievable that such bizarre claims, allegedly made by private individuals who have no relationship with the Bank whatsoever, have been elevated to gospel truths and published with reckless abandon.
It is particularly strange that the reports claim that “through the Bank, Government is using illicit ways as a scheme to bust international sanctions placed on political leaders and government entities”. The Bank is not a sanctioned entity, and the cited individuals are not sanctioned persons either. There are no sanctions on Zimbabwean exports and imports, including trade in gold, to warrant Zimbabwe to “circumvent international sanctions” through illicit trade in gold. As such, the claim that there is “a scheme to bust international sanctions using illicit ways” shows beyond doubt that the peddlers of this narrative have a sinister agenda with nefarious objectives of tarnishing both the Bank and the Republic of Zimbabwe.
It is also disturbing that the scurrilous allegations have largely been widely and recklessly reported by a well-known and outspoken social media activist, elements of the local media and Zimbabwean-linked digital media platforms, who are closer to home to take responsibility by independently verifying the damaging and unproven allegations before publishing or peddling them. It is disappointing and deplorable that Zimbabweans are at the forefront of spreading malicious falsehoods about the Bank and the country.

Curiously, the leaked snippets of the unscreened documentary omit the Bank’s responses to 32 questions Al Jazeera Investigative Unit posed to the Bank in connection with the allegations. In the spirit of transparency and social responsibility, the Bank responded to all the 32 questions in detail on 27 February 2023 and the responses clearly show that the narrative, so far purveyed, is nothing but false. The Bank is disappointed that either Al Jazeera Investigative Unit has not included the Bank’s responses in the information they have leaked to or shared with their selected media houses and journalists, or the concerned journalists have elected to ignore the Bank’s responses and only published the fake allegations in a malicious pursuit of a hidden agenda, unknown to the Bank or Al Jazeera.
The Bank reserves its rights to take appropriate legal action or initiate necessary sanctions against the interviewees and purveyors of the fake news to protect its fiduciary responsibilities in the national interests.

Meanwhile the Bank advises the public to dismiss the false allegations with the contempt they deserve. The Bank remains confident that the truth cannot be hidden, and that the truth shall prevail.

Henrietta Rushwaya vs Hopewell Chin’ono | FULL TEXT

The Zimbabwe Miners Federation President Henrietta. Rushwaya contacted ZimEye seeking to tell her side of the story regarding published allegations that state that she or her sympathisers caused the arrest of journalist Hopewell Chin’ono over tweeting. She briefly spoke during a scheduled Twitter space session on Thursday night where she challenged her accuser to come out and confront him publicly.

[NEW LIVE DEBATE DATE SLATED FOR SUNDAY 26th MARCH 2023]

Rushwaya’s choice for a neutrally moderated debate is with the only publisher (a member of the Al Jazeera Investigative Unit documentary making team) whose exclusive stories since 2018 triggered the #GoldMafia investigation, Simba Chikanza.

She (HR) was interviewed by Simba Chikanza (SC)

SC: Miss Rushwaya, good evening, you contacted me, seeking to tell your side of the story regarding the many published articles out there that point you as the one who caused the arrest, or is linked to the arrest, being that there are people who are around you or connected to you who caused the arrest of a colleague in our industry, Hopewell Chin’ono, but right now I am going to ask you because as you can see the public want to know so much out of what has now been disclosed to them. Let me start here, by getting into what you contacted me at first.- Did you get Hopewell arrested for tweeting over your bail case?

HR: What did Hopewell do to me? What is it that you’re suggesting that could make me even desire to do such a thing, if I had the capacity or means to do such a horrendous thing? I don’t even have the capacity, I am just a small fish.

SC- You’re saying to me that you don’t have the capacity, but is there not a possibility your “handlers” or someone close to you, or even sympathising with you, as Hopewell Chin’ono says, got him arrested over your bail case?

HR: LAUGH LAUGH. I don’t see Hopewell being any relevant to anyrhing to do with me, other than, than the on the ground journalists, if at all they are there.

SC: But tell me, are you telling me that Hooewell is mad. Are you implying that he is targeting you because of guesswork? I mean, people ask you especially after watching the documentary today, why are you the publishing target of an award winning journalist? Is this not a reason to believe that you have a case to answer?

HR: I don’t know what the case is, perhaps I should win awards!

SC: Are you being real there, and Miss Rushwaya, have you not gotten other journalists arrested before?

HR: As a peace loving Zimbabwean, I don’t believe in the victimisation of anyone… I’ve been a victim of objectification. And as a woman I’ve suffered for things that men still continue to do without being attacked at all.

SC: Miss Rushwaya, we see you in this Al Jazeera documentary. It’s your voice, and you are communicating things here and there, or at least we say, we hear you so. Miss Rushwaya, do you you not wash money?

HR: I am not going to pre empt my legal processes, but meanwhile I I can say anyone can record a phonecall and make a twisted story. You, Simba, when you once phoned me claiming I am not at all in prison, what did you find out in the end? It’s not for me to tell you what my next move is, but, let me the games begin.

SC: Please tell me, ever since Hopewell got arrested, have you cared to connect with him, or maybe should ask you, has he connected with you physically and the like, I think people would like to know the nature of your relationship there.

HR: I am being accused of being close to people of power, who are only being perceived by Hopewell, and known to him, and these people are said to be responsible for causing arrests, and I was arrested on the 20th October (sic)…

Men inside the NPA are discussing my case and a male journalist, while I am suffering, and then the same male comes out to accuse me of being connected to the same male prosecutors he alone has access to.

TYPED THROUGH- From his own notes, Hopewell reveals he has privileged access to the NPA. Why doesn’t he use that access to help people like Jon Sikhala?

Even to help me or even to help himself out of this whole case… (sic) Am I missing something here? These are not adding up.

These are people who have the capacity… to effect an arrest[sic, SOUND BREAKING, NETWORK].

Hopewell, has never bothered to call me, visit me, or even contact me, and yet I am his punch bag on a day to day basis, if I am such a horrible person, why not come here, and we record. Or you record me phone me to expose me, before you scream my name out to the whole world.

SC: Now, wait, are you telling me that he has has even called you? This would be a serious allegation if I call him and he gets a chance to speak- will you wait for him? Because I am of the believe that he …. are you okay to wait? Maybe, let me say, I am not in way suggesting that you are not being truthful, what I am simply saying is to bring him here and he can come here and answer that he never called or never connected with you, and unfortunately at present I do not seem to see him l, as yet, which is a challenge.

I don’t know how much longer we are going to wait here.

Zanu PF Legislator Accused Of Using ED’s Daughter

ZANU-PF leadership in Mashonaland Central province has no kind words for Mazowe North legislator Campion Mugweni who allegedly used President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s daughter to get into power during the last elections.

Mugweni who was in a relationship with Chido Mnangagwa duped her at the eleventh hour and married another woman after winning the Mazowe North seat.

Insiders said they respected him during the last elections because he showed interest in becoming the First family-in-law.

“Mugweni tricked us last time he came as an in-law to the President but after winning the elections he dumped Chido and married another woman whom he wedded,” the source said.

In a desperate move to remain in power, Mugweni has been splashing money out to the informal traders like vendors, touts and sex workers in his constituency.

He has resurfaced during primary elections after missing in his constituency for five years.
