Watch Zanu PF Violent Grouping Mobilising Against Winky D

By- A Zanu PF-affiliated youth empowerment lobby group, the Economic Empowerment Group has said Winky D must be banned from performing in Zimbabwe.

The group accuses the Dancehall chanter of dabbling into politics through music, especially the song Ibotso he collaborated with hip hop artist Holy Ten.

At a press conference held this Tuesday, the group said Winky D’s music promotes hatred instead of building the nation as promoted by President Mnangagwa in his “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo mantra.

The song is from Winky D’s album titled Eureka.

The song speaks about the social ills prevalent in Zimbabwe. It also attributes the hardships faced by the common man in the southern African nation to corruption by political elites “who steal from the powerless masses” (vanodya zvavapfupi nekureba).

The duo has faced persecution to the extent that Holy Ten, born Mukudzei Chitsama has said he was regretting working with the Gaffa President in the sonng. He  cites the sensationalisation of the song by commentators, mainly journalists, and activists.

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere has said “An artist’s social commentary on the state of our society & the lives of citizens is not” hate. She added:

Mnangagwa Unleashes Soldiers On Lithium “Poachers”

By- The government has unleashed security forces to disperse thousands of unemployed youths who had invaded Goromonzi North in search of Lithium.

There is a Lithium rush in the area, with people seeking quick riches in the soft silvery-white alkali metal.

Zanu PF MP for the area, Ozias Bvute, said security forces had chased the fortune seekers.

“There is now order in the area and mining will be done following due processes. This will benefit both miners and the nation at large. I gathered that mining is now done in tributes and a number of youths from Goromonzi are benefiting,” Bvute said.
The artisanal miners were gathering lithium ore, selling it for around US$10 per wheelbarrow to buyers reportedly selling it for US$400 per tonne.

Pabloz Hooligans Face Fresh Charges

By- The police have slapped the jailed Harare bouncers with fresh assault and public violence charges.

According to the state media, numerous victims have come forward to file complaints against the hooligans, Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda, who are currently in custody pending bail hearing.

They are facing attempted murder charges.

Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed this in an interview with the Herald.
“We can confirm that Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda are now facing fresh charges of assault. There are some complainants who filed papers to the effect that they were assaulted by these bouncers,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
According to police, the latest document, which contains details of fresh charges, is being handled by Highfield Police Station.
Police have called on all citizens who might have complaints against the bouncers to come forward and report.
“We are appealing to citizens who might have been assaulted by Sanyangore and Kumunda to come forward so that the law can take its course. In the alleged in the video which circulated we saw a man being splashed with something like water or alcohol, we say come and report, this is the best time.”
The duo was arrested following a public outcry after they were seen in a short clip video which went viral assaulting other patrons and threatening to stab Wilson Kaminyu and Munyaradzi Runganga who are private security guards at Pabloz Night Club in Harare on December 26, last year.

Klopp Slams Brentford Tactics

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has cried foul over Brentford’s game approach in their league encounter on Monday.

The Reds lost 3-1 to the Bees, conceding two goals in the first half. The hosts had two other goals – both from corners – disallowed after a VAR review.

Klopp accused Brentford of stretching the rules and feels that their opponents caused ‘chaos’ in the box during the set-pieces and made a lot of fouls that go unnoticed by the officials.

The gaffer said in a press conference after the game: “Brentford create chaos with set-pieces. When I say they stretch the rules, they do, in offensive set-pieces. Don’t get me wrong, it’s smart, but they do.

“If you could single out all the situations you would find five fouls but because it’s so chaotic no one sees it in the end. So that’s what they do and it’s really good.”

Klopp also claimed that Brentford’s third goal should have been disallowed after Konate went down in the build-up, allowing Bryan Mbeumo to run through and finish.

“The third goal should not be a goal, easy as that. If you’ve ever played football and been in a foot sprint and you get a slight push you go down because you cannot keep balance. That’s how it is and you could see that,” he said:

“That’s actually exactly the same as I’d talk to my microwave. You get no response really. It’s always the same. Before the season they give us advice that the players must be careful in these moments because the refs will have an eye on it and you see these games and pretty much everything is allowed. It’s always on the edge.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Sikhala Detention: Protests Loom

Tinashe Sambiri|The Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa faces protests at CCC deputy chairperson Hon Job Sikhala’s prolonged detention.

Hon Sikhala spent the festive season in prison after being arrested in June for denouncing the brutal murder of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali.

CCC Namibia has called for the immediate release of Hon Sikhala.

See statement below:

No Happy New Year Without Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala

CCC Namibia fumes!

02 January 2023

Citizens Coalition for Change(CCC) Namibia demands more action from the opposition parties, civil society organizations, human rights defenders, the church, students, and all progressive citizens advocating for the freedom to be administered without fear or favor. It is quite infuriating to continue glimpsing the weaponization of the law by the clueless Harare regime which has failed dismally to put the economy back on the rail.

The residents of Zimbabwe and the globe must amplify their voices by democratically pressuring the autocratic regime to respect the constitution and rule of law. Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala has now endured 201 days in the hell-hole of Chikurubi Maximum Prison. He was denied bail on 12 occurrences, which is clear selective application of the law. The truth of the matter is that ZANU-PF controls the judiciary, they interfere with the judiciary processes compelling the judges to be biased against all voices of dissent. Bail is a constitutional liberty enshrined in the supreme law of the motherland.

Citizens Coalition for Change Rundu Branch Interim Chairperson Simbarashe Ndoda expressed his disgruntlement in the way Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala’s case is being politicised. “The people of Zimbabwe at home and abroad should do more action to ensure that our vibrant and energetic interim Vice Chairperson is released from jail”, Ndoda said. He went on to advise the prison officers to stop abusing Wiwa’s right to health since there are various reports that the prisoner of conscience is being denied access to medical services.

Constitutionalism provides the right to demonstrate against gross incompetence and lack of capacity to better the people’s livelihoods. Citizens should wake up and smell the coffee. We should exercise our constitutional rights to petition and demonstrate our displeasure with the way the democratic space is being shrunken by desperate dictators. Namibia district demands more than we have done before. Let’s show Mr. Mnangagwa our capacity to confront to achieve freedom, equality, and justice through democratic means.

We are cognizant of the fact that ZANU-PF intends to break Wiwa’s revolutionary commitment and dedication to fight for democracy in Zimbabwe. He is in jail since 14 June 2022 just because he was Moreblessing Ali’s family lawyer who made noise until the deceased body was found in a disused well owned by the Chisango family who are bonafide ZANUPF members and activists. Job Sikhala is suffering from suspected colon cancer, we demand his freedom. Criticizing alleged state-sponsored abductions is neither obstruction of justice nor incitement to public violence. It is a just call for the respect of the fundamental basic human right to the sanctity of life.

ZANU-PF perpetrators such as the Nyatsime councillor whose video went viral banning CCC members at Mob’s funeral. He was on record inciting public violence which resulted in the abduction and torture of 20 women at Moreblessing Ali’s homestead. The councillor openly declared the Nyatsime area a ‘No Go Area’ for Citizens Coalition for Change. He is walking scot-free when our leader is languishing in jail for defending the vulnerable. Abton Mashayanyika, Owen Mudha Ncube etc were threatening violence worse than that of 2008 which left thousands dead and maimed.

Abton Mashayanyika said Chamisa and his supporters must be killed, but no arrest has been effected by the partisan police force which takes instructions from the shake-shake building resulting in the selective administration of the law. We saw Hon Jasmine Tofa with broken arms, a victim of state-sponsored violence in Matobo. Known perpetrators are still roaming the streets threatening more violence to the opposition, this must be resisted with equal measure. We demand an end to this lawfare. Citizens must be equal before the law. Only CCC activists are jailed for inciting violence when the real authors of violence are walking free, we need to peacefully defy this!

Moreblessing Ali is yet to be buried since June because her family lawyer is still incarcerated on trumped-up charges.

The extinct was gruesomely butchered for exercising her freedom of assembly and association with the people’s favorite political behemoth, the Citizens Coalition for Change led by the eloquent change champion in-chief President Advocate Nelson Chamisa.

We demand justice for Moreblessing Ali, the family continues to be tormented by the state which tried in vain to bury Moreblessing Ali’s remains without the consent of the immediate family. This is quite pathetic and beyond Satanism! We need new leaders in Zimbabwe for a better lifestyle.

If we don’t take peaceful action against this attempt to silence voices that speak audibly against the abuse of human freedoms, it will be a mammoth task to defend our vote in the impending watershed elections sometime in July or August this year. It needs courage, nerve, and mettle to defeat totalitarianism hence the dire need to embrace dangerous freedom against the perpetual incarceration of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala. Our Interim Vice Chairperson needs our physical, moral, and financial support for him to be released from jail.

There are a lot of peaceful avenues for putting political and diplomatic pressure on the satanic Harare cabal. It is now imperative to draw this matter to regional, continental, and international bodies that deal with human rights and fundamental freedoms. SADC should stop sympathizing with the so-called revolutionary parties to the detriment of the citizenry. African Union, must remind Mr. Mnangagwa that Zimbabwe is a signatory of the African Charter. We need peaceful action that will expose our neighbours who are trying to hoodwink the unsuspecting world.

SADC should denounce this crackdown on the citizens who criticize the abuse of human rights in Zimbabwe before they blame sanctions.

ZANU-PF must religiously follow the constitution and constitutionalism. Allow the opposition to criticize corruption, state-sponsored abductions, political violence, long pre-trial detentions, and arbitrary arrests in a purportedly democratic country.

Madzibaba Beds Follower’s Wife

By-Leader of a Harare-based apostolic sect, one Madzibaba Joshua has destroyed the marriage of one of his followers.

A Helensvale couple is about to collapse as the husband is complaining that his wife is denying him sex because she is dating Madzibaba Joshua.

Andrew Majar, 32, claimed his wife Teresa Kondo, 29, has been denying him sex for the past three months.

Majar said their problem started when his wife’s friend started spreading rumours that she was dating their church leader, Madzibaba Joshua, of Johane Masowe Yeguwo Tsvuku.

“At first I thought that people were lying about my wife’s infidelity and I tried to talk to her nicely. I was later convinced that she was indeed dating Madzibaba Joshua after going through some messages in her cellphone.

“I also heard that Madzibaba Joshua was frequently coming to my homestead claiming to be helping my daughter who is not feeling well,” he said.

Contacted for comment, Teresa could neither deny nor confirm the rumours.

She said the media could not solve their matrimonial problems

“I don’t want to comment on this story because matrimonial problems cannot be solved by a newspaper article,” she said.

Mashamhanda Case: Corrupt Zim Judiciary On Trial

By A Correspondent| On July 6th, 2021, a hearing was held at the High Court in an application by Chiutsi to overturn Justice Mathonsi’s 2017 ruling, which had dismissed his prayer for an order to set aside the Sheriff’s confirmation of the auction sale of his Highlands property to Bariadie Investments (Bariadie).

Justice Tawanda Chitapi was presiding. Chiutsi’s grounds were bold, claiming Bariadie had not participated in the auction as claimed.

The property had been attached to pay off Chiutsi’s $70,000 debt to Elliot Rogers. The actual debt was $116,000, but the 2014 order had accounted for a dispute over fees and provisionally only granted $70,000.

Chitapi was not unfamiliar with the matter, having presided over a related case in 2019 where Bariadie sought to cancel the title deed held by Mashamhanda after Chiutsi sold and transferred the property, taking advantage of an apparent

failure by the Sheriff to place a caveat on the property. Chitapi dismissed the 2019 Bariadie application on the grounds that the matter had already been heard and settled by Justice Manzunzu (res judicata) in an application supposedly brought by Rogers (via Biti Law). Chitapi observed that Bariadie had merely changed from respondent to applicant and Rogers from applicant to respondent.

Justice Tawanda Chitapi

It is worth noting that when Chiutsi sold the house to Tendai Mashamhanda, he immediately paid $115,000 to the Biti Law trust account and paid the debt to Rogers in full. It is unclear why Rogers (via Biti Law) continued to litigate.

Tendai Mashamhanda, in his May 2022 dossier to the Justice Minister, alleges it was not Rogers litigating but Tendai Biti acting of his own accord on the strength of a fraudulent Power of Attorney having forged Rogers’s signature.

HUNTERS HUNTED: BARIADIE AND BITI ON THE RUN
Bariadie and Biti Law (representing Rogers) made several moves to delay and stall the proceedings, including seeking the recusal of judges and sending legal papers to the wrong address.

Tendai Mashamhanda claims this was because they knew Chiutsi had evidence that the auction did not happen as claimed.

By July 6th, Chitapi had dismissed their preliminary points. They requested written reasons and indicated their intention to appeal to the Supreme Court. Given the relatively straightforward nature of the case and the presumed availability of documentary evidence, the other party’s eagerness to have the case dismissed on technicalities seems somewhat suspicious. One judge had already recused himself at their request, with the effect of delaying the hearing of Chiutsi’s application.

When they similarly requested his recusal, Chitapi refused. In its complaint to the JSC, Bariadie falsely claimed that two judges had recused themselves from the matter, justices Chinamora and Munangati-Manongwa. The facts are quite the contrary.

Chinamora recused himself from the case at the request of Tendai Biti. The case was then assigned to Justice Munangati Mungoti.

However, lawyers for Bariadie, Gill, Godlonton & Gerrans deliberately sent notice of the hearing to the wrong address, causing Chiutsi not to attend the hearing. As a result, the case was struck from the roll and returned to Chinamora.

Chinamora asked the parties to provide lists of judges they did not want to hear the case, and Chiutsi submitted his list.

Bariadie did not submit a list. Chinamora then assigned the case to Judge Chitapi. Given the foregoing, Chitapi was right to refuse. The deliberate misrepresentation in Bariadies JSC complaint suggests it has no confidence in its own case.

ALLEGED SECRET JULY 20 HEARING AND DEFAULT JUDGEMENT
At the heart of the matter is the allegation that Justice Chitapi held an unscheduled hearing. Specifically, it is alleged that the hearing held on July 20, 2021, which none of the respondents attended and where default judgement was granted in Chiutsi’s favour, was unscheduled.

However, the High Court record of the July 6 proceedings undermines those allegations, quoting Chitapi

“and the hearing of the application will be held on 20 July 2021 at 10 am. So the main application stands postponed to that date and lastly, the wasted costs of 9 June are reserved for determination in the application for leave to appeal.”

When Chiutsi appeared at the Supreme Court with the default judgement, whose effect would be to end proceedings, Bariadie’s lawyers claimed complete ignorance of the existence of the decision.

In a complaint against Chitapi written to the Judicial Services Commission during the Supreme Court hearing and placed before Justice Gwaunza in her capacity as deputy chair of the JSC, despite her being presiding over the same matter in her capacity as deputy Chief Justice, Bariadie executive director Kingston Hamutendi Munyawarara claimed:

“Curiously, on the morning of the Supreme Court hearing on 16 September 2021, our lawyers were handed a copy of a default judgment

“The judgment came as a shock to us since none of our Counsel was aware of any hearing that took place on the 20th of July 2021. The judgment itself claims that our Counsel wilfully defaulted Court on 20 July 2021.”

AFFIDAVITS THAT SAID NOTHING
In an affidavit dated September 18, 2021, Advocate Thabani Mpofu (view affidavit) supported the claim that there was no communication that the matter would be heard on July 20. It is notable that Adv Mpofu relies entirely on Advocate Tafadzwa Mapuranga (instructed by Bariadie’s attorneys), who he said assured him that there was nothing said in court on July 6 to schedule July 20 as the date for the main application nor any other.

Despite giving these assurances to Adv Mpofu, Adv Mapuranga was not in attendance on July 6 Instead, he claims reliance on Diana Kawenda of Biti Law with whom he had made arrangements to note the outcome of proceedings on his behalf. Kawenda was herself noncommittal, swearing an affidavit on September 16th in which she submitted.

“I do not recall an order the parties appear on the 20th of July 2021 and I did not make any such communication to Advocate Mapuranga.”

She does not say there was no order, merely that she does not recall.

It is immediately apparent that none of these affidavits contains statements asserting anything. Adv Mpofu relies on Adv Mapuranga who purports to offer assurances despite relying on Kawenda who does not make a statement of fact.

It appears peculiar that three lawyers would rely on a testimony asserting convenient memory loss when they know that High Court proceedings are recorded and that a record of the proceedings can be secured to establish the facts.

A cynic would be forgiven for saying these affidavits were written with perjury in mind. Even Kawenda was careful not to say anything authoritative; in this way, she could always argue that she never said there was no order but did not recall. The other lawyers would be equally safe.

These affidavits were written purportedly for an application of rescission of default judgement. However, that application was never prosecuted. The application was abandoned after Chiutsi caught wind that an application had been filed, but he had curiously not been served with the papers.

They had been sent to the wrong address.

Tendai Mashamhanda alleges this was by design. It is hard to find a basis to dispute his assessment. Chiutsi would immediately file opposing papers as soon as he got the papers. That was the end of the matter, and the application was never prosecuted. There was no answering affidavit filed in response to Chiutsi’s opposing papers.

The question is why. Why would any lawyer not prosecute an application for rescission of a default judgement issued after a hearing purportedly held without their knowledge?

Tendai Mashamhanda is not unreasonable in arguing that this was because they knew a hearing at High Court would expose falsehoods they had made before the Supreme Court while giving Chiutsi a platform to prove his auction claims.

SUPREME ERROR: MENTIONING JULY 20
The claim that the lawyers had no knowledge of the July 20 hearing is undermined by the purported finding of the Supreme Court’s researcher Dean Mawere, who mentions July 20.

Mawere said: “The default judgement was granted in respect of an application for setting aside the confirmation of sale by 4th respondent. This was despite the fact that the hearing on 20th July was scheduled for an application for leave to appeal. Quite how the court aquo then proceeded to determine the substantive issue between the parties is staggering and procedurally inept.”

The Supreme Court’s judgement repeated this accusation and relied on a purported quote from Chitapi from July 6, in which he is alleged to have said: “The hearing of the application is set down for hearing on 20 July, 2021 at 10am. The wasted costs of June 2021 are reserved for determination in the application for leave to appeal.”

The Supreme Court could not have relied on the official record of proceedings as it includes a reference to the main application being postponed to July 20.

A violent contradiction emerges.

Recall that Diana Kawenda of Biti Law claims she did not recall any reference to July 20 (view affidavit). Yet, the Supreme Court ruling recognises that a hearing was properly scheduled for July 20. Its objection is not to the scheduling, instead alleging that the hearing was limited to addressing preliminary issues. This, too, as the record of proceedings shows, is incorrect.

Furthermore, Bariadies lawyers wrote to Registrar of the High Court on July 9 and displayed cognisance of the proceedings of the July 6 hearing. It is hard to believe that they only were able to hear everything except the part about the main application being postponed to July 20.

How is it possible that all the respondents made the exact same mistake, together with the Supreme Court researcher and three judges, reaching a conclusion at variance with the record of proceedings? Was this a genuine error or, as Tendai Mashamhanda alleges, a conspiracy involving the highest court in the land?

SPECULATION: AVOIDING THE HIGH COURT?
Since the Supreme Court accepts that the July 20 hearing was scheduled, albeit misquoting Chitapi to exclude the part which referred to the main application, we must proceed on the fact that the hearing was scheduled.

It is highly unusual for lawyers to fail to attend a scheduled hearing and not follow up on the matter afterwards.

In this case, it’s possible that one lawyer had a domestic emergency, another was involved in a car accident, and the third had prior commitments.

However, the fact that none of the legal representatives made any attempt to follow up on the matter after the July 20 hearing raises suspicions.

The question must be answered as to why they behaved in this peculiar manner.

It’s possible that they knew that any interaction with the court on that matter would deny them the opportunity to plead ignorance of the proceedings, as alleged by Tendai Mashamhanda.

This would be consistent with the conspiracy he has claimed.

It is difficult to fault his conclusion that Bariadie and Rogers were desperate to prevent the hearing on Chiutsi’s application because Bariadie did not in fact attend any auction and the hearing would have revealed as much.

If Chiutsi’s claim that the auction did not happen as claimed is incorrect, then one would expect Bariadie and Rogers to be eager for the matter to be clarified through the production of documentary evidence. In this case, no legal arguments would be necessary – just the presentation of the relevant documents. The fact that they have not produced such evidence raises suspicions about the veracity of their claims.

TROUBLED DOCUMENTS
Perhaps that simplicity, requiring the presentation of the relevant documents, was precisely the reason for their trepidation.

As with the claimed caveat, there appears to be no documentation to support the auction claims. Bariadie’s complaint to the JSC insists there was a caveat on the property. Still, no evidence has ever been presented to the extent that Adv Mpofu, when pressed by Justice Chitapi, was forced to speculate that Chiutsi had conspired with the deeds office to remove it corruptly.

The Sheriff would have received a notification from the deeds office confirming placement of the requested caveat if a caveat was indeed placed on the property.

Surely the Sheriff could have long ago produced this confirmation, putting the matter to rest?

Indeed, why would the deeds office deny the existence of the caveat knowing that the Sheriff was in possession of their confirmation letter, which would expose the lie? It is implausible.

The auction also has document problems. There is no explanation as to how the commissioner certified Bariadie as the highest bidder some three days before the actual auction.

The matter cannot be considered settled without an explanation of how the commissioner’s certificate

came to be dated September 15, 2017, when the auction was supposedly held on September 18, 2017. The only possible explanation is that the certificate is fraudulent. It is outrageous that the issue can be considered closed and justice served without answering these pertinent questions.

Bariadie claims to have paid US$270,000 for the property but has not produced evidence to support the claim.

The receipt provided as evidence shows an RTGS deposit stamped October 25, 2018, by the Sheriff of Zimbabwe accounts office.

However, as Mashamhanda points out, there was no RTGS currency in Zimbabwe in 2018. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe introduced the currency in 2019.

The conspiracy against Justice Chitapi is not just about a suburban home in affluent Highlands. It is about the integrity of the justice system and the rule of law in Zimbabwe.

By- A Chinhoyi man, Nyasha Marumahoko, the person who died in a car accident in the Mashonaland west capital, is related to a whistle-blower who exposed President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s corruption.

Marumahoko died early this week after his Mark X car rammed into a tree while allegedly coming from a local pub, Jongwe Corner.

He is the cousin of Simbarashe Tarusana Marumahoko, who recently exposed Mnangagwa for demanding a USD20 million bribe from an American donor to release food aid to Zimbabwe’s hungry citizens.

Java Threatens To Hack Winky D You Tube Account

Enigmatic preacher Passion Java has threatened to hack Winky D’s YouTube account following a ‘diss’ song.

Java took to his official Facebook page on New Year’s day and declared that he had seen Winky D’s YouTube account disappearing in a spiritual vision.

Passion Java said the Zimdancehall musician’s YouTube account had ‘disappeared’ because of a diss song.

“Hanzi diss song chi.. chi… ndawona mumweya YouTube account yese yangoshaikwa pa internet.!

(2023 igore re Jongwe ?),” Passion Java wrote.

While it is not clear which song Passion Java is referring to as the diss song, fans have speculated that the outspoken cleric is referring to Shaker, featuring fellow Zimdancehall crooner Enzo Ishall.

In the song off his latest album Eureka Eureka, Winky D and Enzo Ishall speak of a rich person known as Mbinga in Zimbabwean street lingo who has lost it all.

After announcing his intention to hack Winky D’s YouTube account, Facebook users took to the comments section to warn Passion Java of the consequences such an act carries.

Below are some of the comments:

Man Killed In Chinhoyi Accident Was Mnangagwa Corruption Leaker’s Cousin

This is Nyasha Marumahoko, the person who died after his Mark X car rammed into a tree in earlier this week, while allegedly coming from Jongwe Corner pub.

He is the cousin of Simbarashe Tarusana Marumahoko who recently exposed the ZANU PF leader over Emmerson Mnangagwa’s demands for a USD20 million bribe for an American donor to release food aid to Zimbabwe’s hungry citizens.

Military Generals Saluting Nelson Chamisa Impervious

By Patrick Guramatunhu | “Chamisa himself knows he is too small to be saluted by these men of war. These generals are waiting for their turn on the presidency and this can only happen when Zanu PF is in power, so even if Zanu PF loses the election why would they let it go without a fight?” said Ignatius Chombo, a former Zanu PF minister and one of G40 leaders accused by Mnangagwa regime of corruption.
How many times did we hear Zanu PF apologists say the security services top brass would never salute Morgan Tsvangirai since the launch of the MDC in 1999? Security services chiefs, the likes of the late Douglas Nyikayaramba and Vitalis Zvinavashe, themselves said these treasonous statements openly. They were never cautioned much less court-marshalled – proof they had Zanu PF government approval.
Such threatening statements always came thick and fast whenever Zanu PF felt its iron grip on power was slipping. Zanu PF’s grip on power was feeble than it was runner up to the 2008 elections and it was no surprise many security chiefs made these seditious statements to bolster Zanu PF’s electoral chances.
Zanu PF lost the March 2008 vote but before the results were declared Mnangagwa, it is not clear who else were involved, stopped ZEC declaring the results. He then spent the next six weeks recounting the five million votes. Tsvangirai’s 73% vote count, by Mugabe’s own Freudian slip, was whittled down to 47%, enough to justify a run-off.
During the run-off all the security services; Police, Army, CIO and Prison Services; supplied manpower deployed to carryout operation Mavhotera papi whose primary objective was to punish the ordinary Zimbabweans for daring to reject Zanu PF and Mugabe. Tsvangirai was forced to withdraw and Mugabe won the one-horse race with 84%.
SADC and AU, for the first time ever since independence, refuse to endorse the Zanu PF electoral victory and political legitimacy forcing the party to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA). Agreeing to the need for Zimbabwe to implement democratic reforms design to end Zanu PF’s undemocratic control of state institutions including the security services.

Fully implemented the reforms would have made the refusal by any security officer to salute democratically elected official for petty political party allegiance a high treason!
The tragedy for Zimbabwe was that MDC failed to implement even one meaningful reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because Tsvangirai and company turned out to be corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.
The security services chiefs knew the primary task of the GNU was to implement the reforms and cut the undemocratic umbilical cord giving Zanu PF power over the Army, Police, etc. None of the security chiefs protested the signing of the 2008 GPA including the individuals who had proclaimed they would never salute Tsvangirai.

And there is not one iota of evidence to suggest the security chiefs interfered in any way to stop the implementation of the reforms. The blame for failing to implement the reforms is with the GNU politicians alone, especially the MDC leaders.

Zanu PF is a party of ruthless thugs who have always resorted to all manner of dirty tricks including fear and violence to retain their iron grip on power. The security chiefs’ refusal to salute opposition leaders was meant to instil fear in the voters that the country would slip into lawlessness if the people voted into power someone the security chiefs did not approval of. Opposition leaders were on the “not approved” list.
No nation should ever allow itself to be held to ransom. The people of Zimbabwe alone must decide who governs the country through the holding of free, fair and credible elections. That is not negotiable!

When Zimbabwe finally implement the democratic reforms and restore the rule of law; it is now a matter of when and not if, the present political system is unsustainable, and change is certainly coming; Ignatius Chombo held to account for his treasonous statement. He must name the individuals would not salute Chamisa and why he took it upon himself to broadcast from the rooftop such obnoxious tidings! – SOURCE: zimbabwelight.blogspot.com…

University Lecturer Drags Sangoma To Court

A Zimbabwean university lecturer has dragged a traditional leader to court for accusing him of proposing love to married women in Chigodora.

Ranganai Njodzi (pictured), a Computer Science lecturer at a local university, is accused of destroying marriages in the peri-urban area of Chigodora and pampering the wives with chickens.

The lecturer is also accused of assaulting the women’s husbands and leaving them for dead.

This was revealed recently after Njodzi dragged Village head Gosho whose real name is Denford Zimunya to Headman Chigodora’s court.

Njodzi accused Gosho of soiling his image in the community through what he described as unfounded allegations. He said:

Gosho called for a meeting at his homestead and told the gathering that I was a marriage wrecker and robber.

He instructed the people to attack me with stones and I now fear for my safety because these people are baying for my blood.

They no longer want me in the area because of the instructions they got from their community leader, yet I am not a marriage wrecker.

He has tarnished my image in the community. I work at a local university and some of my students stay in the area. They no longer respect me because of the allegations.

This man (Gosho) hates me, a reason why he wants to destroy my good social standing.

Njodzi challenged Gosho to bring forward witnesses who can confirm that he had proposed love to married women.

Gosho said he had witnesses, adding that the husbands and their wives refused to attend the court out of fear of victimisation. He said:

I have witnesses. He is in the habit of proposing love to married women and pampers them with chickens.

When the women’s husbands confront him over the issue, he assaults them.

He even stripped naked one of the husbands before assaulting him. The man fled and hid in the graveyard.

The village head said he was about to expel Njodzi out of his area saying he doesn’t accept marriage wreckers.

However, Headman Chigodora criticised Gosho for tarnishing Njodzi’s image before establishing the truth. He said:

Instead, after hearing the allegations, you hurriedly convicted Njodzi in his absence and ordered people to stone him. You were wrong and should rectify your mistake.

We do not know whether he is womaniser or not, but he needs to be given a chance to present his side of the story.

Mnangagwa Smuggles Lithium To SA

By- Officials at Beitbridge Border Post have intercepted a consignment of lithium ore on three haulage trucks belonging to one Bernard Tafadzwa Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa was smuggling the ore from Zimbabwe to South Africa and had declared it as manganese.

Mines and Mineral Development ministry officials arrived at the border post on Friday morning to attend to the trucks, now under police and Zimbabwe National Army guard.
It is understood that the raw mineral was extracted from places near Sandawana in Mberengwa and transported to Bulawayo, where it was kept near Khami Cafe close to Bulawayo’s Vehicle Inspection Department.
The mineral was reportedly stored there to facilitate smuggling.

Zimbabwe has abundant deposits of lithium and, with rising global demand and firmer prices, it has become an attractive destination for investment in this resource.

2023: Only Chamisa And The Kwekwe Croc Contesting

Self-exiled former Cabinet minister, Wal-ter Mzembi, says next year’s elections will once again mainly be a battle between Presi-dent Emmerson Mnangagwa and Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa, with the latter up against it in the polls. Speaking to the Daily News from his South African base yesterday, Mzembi also said CCC would pose the only significant challenge to Zanu PF in those crunch elections — although it was the presidential ballot that would most likely cause national excitement again. This comes after Chamisa narrowly lost to Mnangagwa in the 2018.

This comes as more and more prominent people have added their voices to the growing calls for inclusive national dialogue ahead of the 2023 polls, to help end Zimbabwe’s decades-long myriad challenges. CCC bigwig, Tendai Biti, and exiled former Zanu PF political commissar Saviour Kasulcuwere recently said that elections alone would not resolve the country’s long-standing political and eco-nomic challenges. Speaking during a virtual Sapes discussion last Thursday, Biti said the country ideally needed to go to the polls in 2023 after having held inclusive dialogue. “Look, any solution to the Zim-babwean crisis that simply thinks that an election held one day can resolve 44 years of abuse, some would argue 100 years of abuse since 1890 … it’s not going to be possible. “So, we need genuine dialogue that must, however, ultimately end in a scenario where the citizens are allowed to choose their leaders. “We need dialogue that focuses on creating and recreating articu-lated common consensus, not the disarticulated and fragmented vision that we have at the present moment. “What does it mean to be a Zimbabwean? What kind of Zimbabwe do we want? What are our collective fears? If I am a war veteran what is my fear? If I am a worker from Chitungwiza, if I am a Ndebele citizen from Tsholotsho, what is my fear? Biti asked. “What is Gukurahundi to me? What is the alienation and ramification that I have gone through?

That conversation … is the conversation that we want. We need a real conversation as Zimbabwe,” he added. On his part, Kasukuwere -who is also living in self-imposed exile in South Africa – said it was high time Zimbabweans held national dialogue, because without this the country would remain stuck in crises. Meanwhile, Mzembi also said yesterday that although Mnangagwa’s government had made strides in the growth of the agriculture and mining sectors, there was a need to ensure that the earnings from these activities were fully accounted for and distributed equitably. “National productivity in the core pillars of mining and aagriculturehas eicked up if export earnings are a measure. “The main challenge here is plugging leakages and illicit ffinancialflows, as well as optimising and retaining earnings to improve local cash flows and redistributing the earnings equitably. “Zimbabwe has enough to go around to the poorest man, but the main challenge is now eequitability growth with equity and equal opportunity,” he said.

Regarding his own political ambitions, Mzembi said he still had much to offer in terms of leadership and would consider bouncing back into Zanu PF if he was invited to do so. “There are factionalists inside Zanu PF working tirelessly against rapprochement, who are seem-ingly insecure with inclusivity and generational competition. “Those who wield power are in a better position to exercise it in uniting rather than dividing, and in building rather than destroying. “The ball is in the court of those who wield power, not its victims. However, and that said, it takes two to tango. There must exist also in the virtues of reflection and forgiveness whilst remaining principled,” Mzembi said. “I don’t recognise the processes and illegalities of the November 2017 Zanu PF Central Committee that jettisoned me out of the party. “I still have a lot of political life in me. My political mind is at its supreme. The vision still intact. God willing, I will be back soon if the people call me to serve again, to which I will respond with the proverbial ‘Here I am’ – but guided by a new template of national, not partisan service,” he added.- DailyNews

Touts Torment Travellers

TOUTS in Harare have become a menace, harassing commuters at bus ranks, forcing the police to launch an operation to stop their activities.

NewsDay Weekender yesterday witnessed a family being harassed by touts at the Mbare Musika bus terminus.

“They are forcing us to get onto a bus that was not going to our destination. We refused, but they didn’t listen and ganged up on me and my wife. They tried to snatch the bag that I was carrying. Luckily, they were stopped by other people that witnessed the melee,” Tinashe Makina told NewsDay Weekender.

Last Matara, a commuter, said: “We are appealing to touts not to force us onto buses against our will. We already know where we are going, there is no need to physically abuse us.”

Passengers Association of Zimbabwe acting national spokesperson Andrew Chibanda said harassment of passengers by touts was of concern during the festive season.

“It has been happening for quite some time at most ranks. Passengers are harassed and forced to board buses they don’t want by touts. These touts even go to the extent of stealing. Such conduct is criminal and unconstitutional. We call upon law enforcement agents to act,” he said.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the law enforcement agents had launched an operation targeting touts.- NewsDay

Attack On The Judiciary Has Serious Political Implications: Mavaza

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | Just towards the new year a document which was aimed at attacking our judiciary system was circulated. The author of the document was none other than the suspected Baba Jukwa Mr Edmund Kudzai. Edmund is a prolific writer who came to fame during the baba Jukwa time. He was arrested and his trial did not see the end of day. Many questions were raised as usual no answers.

The documents which were circulated this time were meant to soil the judiciary.

The bone of contention was based on the Mashwede case. This case is now a case of public record so it can be discussed here.
The document making rounds is fully sponsored by one
Tendai Shamhanda who is a lawyer and the son to Mashwede from Chivi Masvingo. The Mashwede own many shopping malls in and a round Harare. This family tried to build a service station at matapi police station and they abandoned their plans. At one stage Mashwede stood as MDC candidate.
As for this case which is being used vilify the judiciary Mr Mashwede bought a piece of land otherwise referred to as a Stand in our normal talk. This piece of land was bought from a deregestered lawyer Piwai Chiutsi who had issues with Trust Fund complained by one Rodgers Now based in UK. Chiutsi was sued by Biti Law Chambers resulting in that judgement. The house which despite being under judicial attachmnt was quickly changed tittle deeds. Meanwhile the Sheriif sold this property to another person resulting in the case going to court. Justice Chitapi endorsed Shamhanda through a default judgement. The other party’s effort to reverse dd not succeed. Justice Matonsi also handled it dismissing the challenge by Chiutsi. Then an appeal in the Supreme Court dismissed Chiutsi’s Sale and confirmed the sale by the Sheriif. This was before 3 judges of the Supreme Court. Chiutsi came back to High court applying for a reconsideration of the case In the meantime Biti s cleck Chaza was being prosecuted for a fake power of attorney from Rodgers and unauthotised representation. He excepted to the charges and the magistrate ordered ammendnt which was never done. They however proceeded with the case and the accused applied for review. The judgement in the application for review has since been reserved by a high court judge sitting in Harare.
Now Shamhanda Mashwede’s son has become the complainant. In a bid to confuse the judiciary system they made several applications The other application was later withdrawn after the comedian advocate was quizzed by a judge. The advocate kept going in and out of court to get instructions presumably from one Everson Samkange who is the author of the mantra judges are compromised.
In any civilised and progressive jurisdiction the judicial system, the judges and judicial decisions must be and are subjected to rigorous scrutiny. A system that has such an impact in people’s lives and indeed in the socio-economic development of a nation cannot be sheilded from constructive criticism.
However, there is a world of difference between, on the one hand, constructive criticism of an institution and outlandish attack and abuse of the same.
The reason why it is always important to respect our judges is because Judicial misconduct breaks down the very fibre of what is necessary for a functional judiciary- citizens who believe their judges are fair and impartial.  The judiciary cannot exist without the trust and confidence of the people. Judges must, therefore, be accountable to legal and ethical standards. In holding them accountable for their behaviour, judicial conduct review must be performed without invading the independence of judicial decision-making. This task can be daunting.
More than any other branch of government, the judiciary is built on a foundation of public faith-judges do not command armies or police forces, they do not have the power of the purse to fund initiatives and they do not pass legislation.  Instead, they make rulings on the law. Rulings that the people must believe came from competent, lawful and independent judicial officers.
For an individual to start casting aspersions to judges is contempt at its best.
The difference between legitimate scrutiny and grotesque abuse lies in the motive of the act.
Those engaged in constructive criticism are a help to the system. Those who just abuse are a hinderence. The former is motivated by the desire to improve the system in the best interest of the nation and for posterity. The latter is motivated by supremely selfish interest culculated to redicule, bring into disrepute and undermine the system.
In this case we have a man blemishing the image of the judiciary and making incindiary and inflamatory allegations of corruption based on alleged bad decision in a single case.
Examining the individual merits of this case is not the issue. In fact doing so would be complicit to the accusor’s insanity. We accept that in every jurisdiction judges may get devisions wrong. This is unsurprising because they are not supper human.
Let us therefore assume, for the purpose of this arguement, that the Supreme Court , which is the final arbiter, got its devisio wrong, it woukd still be a far greater wrong for the Lower Court of Justice Chitapi to purport to overturn the decision of the Superior Court. In fact it is arlaming that Mr….’Mashwede s lawyers, who would have known better, made an application to the Lower Court to upet the decision of the Supreme Court. Therefore what really smacks as corruption is not “the wrong” decision of the Supreme Court (assuming it was wrong for the sake of argument). What is really dangerous is the audacity of the officers of court and a judge to ignore constitutional implications of their perilous actions and to even have the temerity to insult the judicial sysyem. Even if there was a Supreme Court error ( which is denied anyway) what we must be concerned about is the constitutional anarchy which these lawyers and a single judge (Justice Chitapi)engineered.

Judging involves the exercise of judgement. Inevitable there may be a mistake. The one thing which we all want is constitutionality and order. When Mr. Mashwede took his case to Justice Chitapi, it was not an appeal, for that course of action is not founded in our constitutional arrangement and neither is it in the Court ‘s Procedure Rules. Effectively the action amounted to an approach in the dark, outside the law and outside the rules and outside constitutional practice. In intertaining such a case before hin, Justice Chitapi forfeited the garment of legitimacy. If a judge ventures into things like that, it is clearly not out of error. All the parties involved would have known that Justice Chitapi had no power or jurisdiction to entertain an application arising from a decision from the Supreme Court. The first question that a judge in Justice Chitapi’s case would have asked is “Why is this matter before me? On what basis do you say I have jurisdiction over it?”
Judicial misconduct comes in many forms and JSCZ ethical standards address problematic actions, omissions and relationships that deplete public confidence.  Common complaints of ethical misconduct include improper demeanour; failure to properly disqualify when the judge has a conflict of interest; engaging in ex parte communication and failure to execute their judicial duties in a timely fashion.
WHAT THE AUTHOR of the flam story document must know that Behaviour outside of the courtroom can also be at issue. Judicial conduct oversight should not attempt to regulate purely personal aspects of a judge’s life.
Allegations of corruption have been made without even an attemot to substantiate them. Corruption implies a state of mind. In this case it is implied that the Supreme Court corruptly received or at least acted on a promise of a reward to make their decision. There is no attempt to say even begin to point out how this defamatory conclusion is arrived at.

Admittedly there are instances where the nature of the decision is so outrageaous that the only reasonable inference is that it was driven by corrupt entrapments. There is nothing in this case, even assuming that the decision was wrong, to cause any reasonable inference of corruption.

Zimbabweans must avoid the wanton acts of demonising the judiciary and finding it fashionable to smear and bash judges . Some are doing it for peceved political milege; others do it to sell social media articles. All this is not only cheap and pathetic but it is fundamentally dangerous.

It is dangerous because every country needs the judiciary even if no country has one that gets 100, percent of its decisions right. We need the judiciary because it is the defender of the weak as well as of the powerful. It is our bulwark against crime. It is our solace against injustice. Those who are undermining our judiciary are advocates of anarchy and lawlessness. It is unwise to try to invalidate the judiciary through spurious and malicious allegations. On a personal or individual level we will all have injured, robbed or molested friends and relatives. We will therefore have times when we will need the same judiciary that is being undermined to function and function well.
During the liberation war the Rhodesian judiciary worked under and were enforcing severely draconian legislation. It is important to note that liberation movements at the time never sought to malign or undermine those judges. This is because those mavens had the sense to distinguish between the government of the day and the judiciary. That cannot be said of the opposion in Zimbabwe today.
In fact after independence judicial personnel were retained and those who wanted to continue to serve the country and after independence did so freely.

The abuse of the judiciary must stop and stop now. It is the higjest order of corruption that threatens the fabric of our society. Those who indulge in it must be ashamed
The documents making rounds attacking Supreme Court judges and high court judges are a well calculated ploy to soil the judiciary. The judiciary must be respected and protected.
The behaviour of Mr Kudzai is misconduct by engaging in personal behaviour that calls the integrity of the judiciary into question. Furthermore, it must be done with minimal risk of unlawful intervention by forces trying to prevent unpopular, but correct, rulings on the law.
It behoves the judiciary to support measures that hold it accountable. While the majority of judges serve with honour, ethical missteps should be corrected, and major breaches of trust should be acknowledged.
To quote former United States President Theodore Roosevelt: “No man is above the law and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man’s permission when we ask him to obey it. Obedience to the law is demanded as a right, not asked as a favor.”  The judges who administer justice in our countries must be seen as ethical and subject to meaningful correction when it is necessary. Nothing less than the rule of law is at stake.
The idea of trying to force the judges to make rulings which favour the rich is criminal. It is sad that some senior officers are using their proximity to the president of the country in order to arm twist the judges. The judiciary must not be controlled by one person who thinks that he is untouchable and can approach any senior person in the government.
Mashwede has developed the piece of land. But no amount of money should correct the wrong. The property was bought illegally and contemptuously. This must not be used to control our judiciary. The sale by Chiutsi needs investigarions. Hours I abused the law and used it to con Mashwede but that does not make Mashwede right. There was a counterclaim for perpertual silence which he dd not present heads of arguments cz he has done no less than 20 applications on the same issue. Law society was also a party to these proceedings. With or without name Biti Chiutsi is on the wrong side. Supreme Court made a finding that the tittle deeds were fraudently changed resulting in the dismissal of some staff members. It is sad that a judge tried to upset a Supreme Court decision when he is in a lower court.

Looking at this case on the round the Supreme Court must take notice of the document by Mr Kudzai , and ask him to justify his statements about the judiciary.
‘When historians in future look back to see how democracy and judiciary has been destroyed in Zimbabwe even without a formal Emergency, they will particularly mark the role of the Supreme Court in this destruction, if no action is taken against Edmund Kudzai and Mashwede and all those aiding for his monies to demonise our judges.
The Court must find them guilty of committing criminal contempt of court.
What is contempt of court?
Contempt of court basically means disrespecting the court in any way. In zimbabwe you can be punished by the court if you disrespect the court or show contempt towards courts.
Criminal contempt is exactly what Baba Jukwa has done.
Criminal contempt of court happens when you disrespect the court by publishing anything or doing something that:
lowers the authority of any court influences or interferes with any judicial proceeding (like a legal case being heard by the court) obstructs the judicial process in any other way. It is true that a citizen has the right to freedom of speech and expression under our Constitution. So, a citizen is allowed to make a fair criticism of a judge, judiciary and its functioning. If a constructive criticism is made in order to enable systemic correction in the system, the Court will not look into the issue of contempt.
However, the right to speech has certain reasonable restrictions, and an attempt has to be made to properly balance the right and the restrictions. if a citizen exceeds the limits and makes a statement which tends to scandalize the judges and institution of administration of justice, such an action could be considered as contempt of court.
Furthermore if a citizen makes a statement which tends to undermine the dignity and authority of the Court, or a statement which tends to shake the public confidence in the judicial institutions, this will come within the scope of ‘criminal contempt’.
When a statement is made against a judge as a ‘judge’, and which has an adverse effect in the administration of justice, the Court can look into the issue of contempt of court.
Our justice system is the envy of the world. We have an outstanding independent judiciary that is widely admired as an international leader. Our lawyers have a global – and deserved – reputation for excellence.
We are right to be proud of our legal system.

But we must not allow the Baba Jukwa madness to taint our judiciary. The bigger picture by Kudzai is to discredit our judiciary so that we can not count on them should elections spill into court.

Chigumba In Trouble For “Staging Palace Coup”

Zanu PF has rejected the delimitation of electoral boundaries report compiled by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and set in motion plans to have it nullified in court…

Senior Zanu PF figures are accusing ZEC chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba of “selling out” and laying the groundwork for a “palace coup” after an analysis by party strategists concluded that the new ward and constituency boundaries favour the opposition.

The report, which has not been released to the public, was submitted to President Emmerson Mnangagwa by Justice Chigumba on December 26. Mnangagwa is required by law to table the report before parliament within seven working days.

But even before the report has been seen by MPs, Zanu PF officials led by justice minister Ziyambi Ziyambi are demanding that it should be withdrawn and the delimitation process restarted.

Chigumba is also facing a revolt from other ZEC commissioners, but she and her deputy Rodney Simukai Kiwa have so far refused to be bowed, sources said.

Of the nine ZEC commissioners, seven reportedly refused to endorse the report. Chigumba and Kiwa, however, insisted that there was no legal requirement for consensus among commissioners before the delimitation report is submitted to Mnangagwa.

In off-the-record briefings, Zanu PF officials said they feared Justice Chigumba is working with a faction inside Zanu PF led by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to pull off what they are calling a “palace coup.”

Justice minister Ziyambi and the ministry’s permanent secretary Virginia Mabhiza have convinced Mnangagwa that the delimitation report is a threat to his re-election ambitions in general elections due next year.

Ziyambi and Mabhiza, insiders said, were furious to discover that Central Intelligence Organisation boss Isaac Moyo had aligned himself with Justice Chigumba. Moyo was summoned to a meeting with Mnangagwa, Ziyambi and Mabhiza where the Zanu PF leader ordered them to find strategies of getting the report nullified.

From the meeting, lawyer Professor Lovemore Madhuku was engaged to mount a legal challenge to have the report set aside. The application will be filed by a proxy as Zanu PF is reluctant to publicly square off with Justice Chigumba, the sources said.

Madhuku confirmed he had been engaged to challenge the delimitation report, but added: “I am in the process of receiving full instructions.”

The lawyer would not reveal his client, or how they had seen the report which is yet to be made public.

“Obviously any legal process would have to wait for the public release of the report,” Madhuku said.

Ziyambi denied he had issues with the delimitation report.

“That’s not correct. I will be tabling it in parliament on January 6,” Ziyambi said.

Zanu PF strategists are reportedly spooked by what they say is a systematic allocation of voters from opposition strongholds to constituencies and wards under Zanu PF control, sometimes with almost the same number required to wipe out the party’s majority from the last elections in 2018.

“An example of this is where voters from the opposition’s urban strongholds are migrated to a neighbouring constituency in a peri-urban area which is under Zanu PF control. It was methodical. ZEC were playing a numbers game and the intentions are clear,” one Zanu PF official fumed.

The official said even if Mnangagwa won the presidential vote, he may find himself without a parliamentary majority to govern, leaving him vulnerable to political plots by rivals including Chiwenga.

The delimitation report also has scenarios where sitting Zanu PF MPs will have their constituencies eaten up by neighbouring constituencies.

“The plan is to make sitting Zanu PF MPs fight over constituencies, and cause disharmony leading to vote splitting,” another Zanu PF official who had sight of the report claimed.

Questions left for Justice Chigumba had not been answered.

Chigumba has for years been the arch nemesis of opposition parties in Zimbabwe, accused of facilitating election fraud by Zanu PF and disenfranchising opposition voters by manipulating the voters roll.

Few would have forseen her fallout with Zanu PF so close to an election. Schisms within ZEC itself have echoes of Kenya where some commissioners of the body in charge of elections refused to endorse new President William Ruto’s victory, only for a court to rule that such endorsement was not a legal requirement before election results are announced.

Vic-Falls Man Crashes Stolen Vehicle

By- A Victoria Falls man will live to regret the day he decided to steal a car for a joyride and boozing spree on Christmas Day after he was involved in an accident that left him hospitalised and the vehicle damaged beyond repair.
Thulani Tshuma (22) of Chinotimba is not licenced to drive.
He allegedly found a Toyota Vitz belonging to Mr Gilbert Mthokozisi Nkomo who is a clearing agent parked near Chicken Inn restaurant at night and broke a window to gain entry.
Mr Nkomo had parked it while going to drink beer at Cotton Club nightclub across the road.
After driving hardly two kilometres along Park Way towards Army Chalets, Tshuma allegedly lost control of the vehicle resulting in it overturning and landing on its roof.
Tshuma was not asked to plead to driving without a valid drivers’ licence, negligent driving and malicious damage to property when he appeared before Victoria Falls resident magistrate Mr Godswill Mavenge.
He was remanded in custody to 11 January and is scheduled to appear at the Hwange regional court for a possible start of trial.
Prosecuting Ms Audrey Mukanganya said after stealing the car and getting involved in an accident, Tshuma abandoned the vehicle and walked to the nearest council water treatment plant where he was found in the morning lying on the ground at the gate.
“On 26 December the complainant parked his motor vehicle, a Toyota Vitz at a car park opposite Chicken Inn and locked the doors before entering Cotton Club nightclub,” said Ms Mukanganya.
She said around 3am the accused went to the car and smashed a left front window and entered the car whereupon he took spare keys on the dashboard and started the vehicle.
Tshuma drove along Park Way towards Elephant Hills Hotel.
On approaching the hotel turn off, he lost control of the vehicle which veered off the road and overturned.
He sustained bruises all over the body and was taken to Victoria Falls Hospital.
Mr Nkomo noticed in the morning when he exited the bar that his car was missing and filed a police report.
Investigations led to the arrest of the accused on the hospital bed where he had been admitted at Victoria Falls Hospital.
His phone and shoes were found in the car which was extensively damaged beyond repair.

Madzibaba Destroys Follower’s Marriage

Teenagers Fight Angry Lion, Escape With Minor Wounds

By- Two brave teenagers from Matabeleland North province in Zimbabwe fought off a charging lion bare-handed while protecting the cattle they were herding.

The two Khulekani Ndlovu (16) and Njabulo Ncube (17), walked away with relatively minor injuries after the death-defying encounter with the lioness.

According to the daily publication The Chronicle, Khulekani was charged by the female lion, which was accompanied by its cubs, when he tried to protect his cattle which were under attack.

The 16-year-old suffered deep wounds to his left leg from the lioness’s claws. Khulekani would have been killed if it were not for his colleague Njabulo.

The 17-year-old somehow managed to scare off the lioness just as it was about to pounce on his friend. More incredibly, he did all this without any weapons.

Khulekani was later treated and discharged at Victoria Falls Hospital.

Narrating his miraculous escape from the lions, Khulekani told the publication,

“We were sitting with Njabulo when we heard a cow making noises about 50 metres away. When we rushed to the scene, we came face to face with a lion attacking the cow.

“We started making noise to scare it away, and the lion abandoned the cow and turned on us. It charged at us, and we fled in different directions.”

“After running for about 50 metres, I looked over my shoulder and saw the lion gaining ground. I fell down and couldn’t rise as I felt powerless.”

After noting that his colleague was in distress, Njabulo charged towards the lioness shouting at the top of his voice and shaking tree branches.

Incredibly, the female lion was intimidated and fled from the scene.

Njabulo later helped Khulekani, and the two teenagers made it home without further incident.

Local businessmen Morgen Ncube and Christopher Ndiweni then ferried Khulekani to the hospital.

Ncube, who was clearly shocked by the incident, told the publication,

“Initially, when these two boys told me about the attack, I didn’t believe them until they explained to me and I saw the wounds. Njabulo has had similar encounters with lions, and he has saved cows from being attacked by lions on three occasions.

“I have personally lost two cows. Our appeal to the Government is that it should try and protect people from these wild animals by reserving grazing land for us and driving away wild animals to another area.”

By-Controversial preacher Passion Java has threatened to hack Winky D’s YouTube account following a ‘diss’ song.

Java took to his official Facebook page on New Year’s day and declared that he had seen Winky D’s YouTube account disappearing in a spiritual vision.

Guest Shot Dead At Chrismas Wedding

By- A guest attending a wedding on Christmas day in Madlambuzi in Plumtree’s village 4, Senganyondo, under Chief Mpini was shot dead by another guest.

This happened after the event degenerated into chaos.

It is alleged that one Vusumuzi Maphosa had a misunderstanding with one Ndumiso Sibanda over an undisclosed matter.

Maphosa is said to have gone to his young brother’s car to take the pellet gun which he used to shoot Sibanda on the left side of his chest, Cite reported quoting Matabeleland South Police. An unnamed police official is cited as saying:

The two were attending a wedding ceremony and had a misunderstanding over a disclosed issue.

Sibanda was taken to Plumtree District hospital where he died on arrival.

The suspect, Maphosa, is said to be on the run.

Real Mallorca Boss Praises Kadewere

Real Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre has hailed Tino Kadewere, describing the Zimbabwean striker as a player with good character.

Kadewere finally made his eagerly-awaited LaLiga debut, when he replaced Lee Kang-in in the 82nd minute of Mallorca’s 0-2 loss to Getafe on Friday.

The 26-year old, who became the first ever Zimbabwean to feature in a Spanish top-flight game, had an injury setback after arriving from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon on a season-long loan.

Asked about the Highfield-bred striker’s LaLiga debut in his post-match interview, Aguirre said: “Well, Tino (Kadewere) had a serious injury. When he arrived, his parent club, the French team (Lyon), did not want him to have surgery, but he had a rather ugly private affair and he got ahead.”

“He is a boy with very good character and today we put him in a 4-4-2 in a position that does not correspond to him, because he is a striker or playmaker. But the little he did I think was in line with the game, neither for better nor for worse.

“But I wait for him and he will give us things. I am very happy with his attitude, which is fundamental. The boy puts a lot of effort into it and he’s going to give us joy,” added Aguirre.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

2023: Change Is Upon Us- President Chamisa

Sikhala In Colon Cancer Scare

By -CCC deputy chair Job Sikhala has fallen sick in Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and fears that he might have colon cancer.

The vibrant opposition politician has been in remand prison for almost seven months facing charges of inciting violence.

In a detailed letter released from his prison cell, Sikhala said, “… It is with regret and most unfortunate that I now share with you a personal issue that I have kept to myself for the past three weeks.
“It is something that I did not share with anyone and kept for these three weeks. I had kept it to myself for the sake of my children and wife. I know how much it will affect them. I have not been feeling well for the past three weeks.”
Sikhala, who is an opposition Citizens Coalition for Change Member of Parliament for Zengeza West, said the pain if getting worse everyday.
“A pain that started mildly on the left side of my abdomen has steadily grown to be extremely heavy and excessive by each passing day. There is some painful strike that exudes itself from the left side which I don’t really understand and do not know what is it. I pray that it is not colon cancer. It is worrying me very seriously.”
He said the pain started soon after he vomited in prison sometime ago.
“Since the day I vomited and had a ceaseless running stomach, some time ago, which was widely reported, the prison authorities refused to allow my doctor to attend to me. This is despite the fact that my doctors came several times in the company of my lawyers Beatrice Mtetwa and Doug Coltart. Since then, I have stopped requesting the permission of my doctor to attend to me. The pain is severe during the night especially when I sleep by that left side. I ask all of you dear Zimbabweans to pray for me to be healed of this pain. There is nothing beyond the cure of God.”
Prison authorities were unavailable for comment as they did not respond to messages sent to them on Sunday.
Sikhala also bemoaned the deteriorating democratic space in Zimbabwe saying President Emmerson Mnangagwa is coming with oppressive laws that are worse than those that were used by the colonial master, Ian Douglas Smith.

How Far Will Chamisa Go In 2023?

indepth...Wilbert Mukori

2023 elections will NOT be free but can be the next best thing – the LAST rigged elections – if we play our cards right
By Wilbert Mukori | “This (2023) year will be that year Zimbabweans become free, happy and prosperous. This time Citizens will WIN BIG and celebrate BIG”. Wrote Nelson Chamisa on twitter.

If anything is certain, it is that Zanu PF is blatantly rigging the 2023 elections just as the party has rigged past elections. Chamisa and his CCC friends are not blind, of course they know that with not even one democratic reform implemented since the 2018 elections, Zanu PF will rig these elections just as readily as they rigged the 2018, 2013, 2008, etc.
Key CCC leaders like Tendai Biti readily admitted the folly of participating in these flawed elections. “Look, you can’t keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections,” Biti told Isaac Mugabi in 2015.
“So, it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimizing these sham elections which don’t deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn’t perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament.
“You can’t continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”
David Coltart, another senior MDC cum CCC leaders concurred with what Biti said but went one step further. He explained why CCC leaders continue to subject Zimbabweans into these flawed election processes only to have their hopes of meaningful democratic change and economic recovery crushed.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the (2013) elections,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”
Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends are hell bent on participating in the 2023 elections, knowing fully well that doing so will give Zanu PF legitimacy, “for fear that the other (opposition parties) would remain in the elections, winning seats”; i.e., greed. So, there it is from the horse’s own mouth, MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform these last 22 year and are insisting on participating tin flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy because of greed!
Zanu PF is blatantly rigging these elections and for any Zimbabwean to participate in the flawed and illegal process to give the regime legitimacy is not only insane but those doing so knowingly and out of greed, it is high treason.
Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies are rigging the 2023 elections contrary the regime’s sworn promise to uphold the rule of law and guarantee the rights of all Zimbabweans including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. We cannot stop Zanu PF rigging the elections nor stop the flawed elections going ahead.
Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends’ claim of winning these flawed elections in just hot air to justify their participation in the flawed process and a smoke screen to hide their greed. We cannot stop CCC participating.
However, what we can do is make sure the whole world knows that without the democratic reforms Zimbabwean elections are flawed and illegal. And that Zanu PF does not get legitimacy from winning rigging elections and CCC does not political credibility from their treasonous greed.
Whilst 2023 elections will not be free, fair and credible they must be the next best thing – the last rigged election. It is within our powers, as citizens of Zimbabwe, to denounce these flawed and illegal elections, deny Zanu PF political legitimacy and force the implementation of the democratic reforms. – SOURCE: zimbabwelight.blogspot.com

1000 Displaced By Cape Town Fire

By- An unconfirmed number of people have died with over 1000 displaced, in an inferno that gutted their homes in Western Cape.

News24 reports that the fire broke out at the early hours of Sunday, 01 January 2023, ripping Polar Park informal settlement in Philippi.

The City of Cape Town’s fire and rescue spokesperson Jermaine Carelse said the woman sustained fatal burn wounds. Fire crews were alerted to the fire at 02:40. Carelse added:

Several crews were dispatched and the first arriving officer confirmed that numerous structures were burning. More than 50 firefighters battled the blaze, which was brought under control at about 06:00.

Carelse said the cause of the blaze was unknown at this stage.

The chairperson of the Polar Park committee, Teenage Mtiyane, 49, told News24 that the fire started at the deceased woman’s house. He said:

She died inside her house with the gas stove [on] and that is how the fire started and spread. Unfortunately, the wind also played its part in moving the flames to other parts of the community, which has left more than 200 people without [shelter].

There are people who have gone to other provinces for the holidays and have to be informed that their homes were destroyed in the fire.

He added that a lot of the residents lost their stokvel money, food, clothing, documents, and school stationery in the fire.

Humanitarian organisation Gift of the Givers said they received calls from members of the community requesting urgent assistance. The organisation’s Ali Sablay said when they arrived at the scene they discovered it was “worse than what we thought”.

Ali Sablay says they have been responding to calls for assistance since Friday. Said Sablay:

People lost everything. The situation is dire. When people saw the team arriving, they hurried to the vehicles to request help. Many of the mothers got emotional when they started telling us that all their children’s new school clothes and stationery were burnt.

The Gift of the Givers said they would remain on the scene until the full extent of the damage had been assessed.

Carelse said emergency crews and Western Cape police were on the scene conducting mop-up operations.

Delta 10 Vape is a premium vaporizer for all your vaping needs. This sophisticated device utilizes advanced technology to create a customizable and enjoyable experience with a high-quality flavor profile. The vape combines an intuitive touch screen, adjustable temperature settings, and multiple heat modes, giving you ultimate control over your vape session. Its seamless design allows the user to select the cream of the crop for cartridges. It’s made with state-of-the-art materials and engineering to ensure maximum performance in each vape session.

Here’s How To Spot A Genuine Delta 10 Vape Online

1. Look For A Reputable Online Store

When you are looking to buy a delta 10 vape, finding a reputable online store that can provide reliable and authentic products is essential. Look out for reviews, customer satisfaction ratings, and whether the store has certifications confirming authenticity.

This will ensure that your vape is top-notch and reliable and won’t leave you with any bad experiences or extra costs. Researching and picking an established retailer will give you peace of mind knowing that you have bought from a trustworthy spot.

2. Compare Prices Between Different Sellers

You must compare prices between different sellers to ensure you get a genuine vape. While sleuthing out the lowest price is always important, there are other factors to consider, such as product reviews and shipping costs.

It’s easy to go with the lowest advertised price, but take a closer look at what’s offered before purchasing. Compare the vapor quality, including smoothness and potency, for more information about how well the product performs. Don’t forget to look up discounts from the sellers; with careful shopping, you can often save even more money and still get an amazing delta 10 vape.

3. Check The Quality Of The Product Images

When shopping for your delta 10 vape, being mindful of the product quality is essential. Check that the images provided are genuine and accurately represent what you’re buying. Check for general product details, the accuracy of resolution and clarity of the images on display, and any marks or labels that indicate a reputable source took them. Careful examination of the image quality effectively ensures authenticity when spotting a real vape.

4. Read Customer Reviews

Knowing whether or not a delta 10 vape is genuine can be critical to ensuring the quality of your experience. Before committing to buying one, it is essential to do thorough research and read customer reviews.

Doing this ensures that you have a reliable source of information to make an informed decision. Pay attention to any red flags in customer reviews and if possible, reach out for more details if you find something suspicious.

Read carefully and cautiously when reading customer reviews; often, fake reviews are detectable with careful inspection. The necessary steps to vet your purchase will ensure you get the best results from your vape.

5. Contact The Seller If You Have Any Questions

Shopping for a delta 10 vape can be daunting, especially when finding an authentic product. The best way to ensure you get the genuine item is to research the seller you plan on purchasing from.

Contacting them directly with any questions or concerns is always a good idea if you want to confirm their legitimacy. This also gives you an opportunity to get details on the specific type of vape and any special conditions or care instructions that come with it. To spot a genuine delta 10 vape, contact the seller if you have any questions and arm yourself with knowledge beforehand.

What Is Delta 10 Vape Made Of?

Delta 10 vape is a specialty vaping product made with innovative cannabis extract. This form of cannabis extract is created using a fractional distillation process that targets the cannabinoid delta-10-tetrahydrocannabinol.

THC has been identified as having milder effects than traditional THC. These vape products typically contain other organic compounds besides delta 10 THC, such as terpenes and non-psychoactive hemp cannabinoids like cannabidiol.

As with other forms of cannabinoid products, customers should always be aware of their local laws regarding cannabis and its extracts before purchasing and using any form of the vape product.

Is Delta 10 Vape Legal?

Delta 10 vape cartridges, products traditionally isolated from hemp, have become increasingly popular among those looking for a unique cannabinoid experience. Although these products are often marketed as legal, the legality of the product has been put into question in recent months.

Delta 10 is not an approved Hemp Cannabidiol ingredient under federal law, and certain states have issued warnings regarding its sale in their respective jurisdictions. While this doesn’t necessarily declare it illegal, questions remain about its status as a federally regulated product and safety profile.

With more research needed to determine the complete safety and legality of the vape products, users must exercise caution when exploring this new branch of hemp-derived cannabinoids.

How To Use Delta 10 Vape For Optimal Results?

To take advantage of delta 10 vape and get the most out of its effects, starting with a low dosage is best to acclimate oneself to the product. Users can adjust their dosing as desired when they feel comfortable with the dosage.

Before each use, read the instructions on the labeling carefully and ensure that the device is appropriately set up for optimal performance. Additionally, storing all vape materials securely at room temperature, away from anything that may ignite a flame or excessive heat, is essential.

By understanding how to use the vape, users have greater control over their experience to achieve desired results.

Summing It Up

The delta 10 vape benefits make it an attractive option for many people. These benefits include its potency and efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and ability to quickly relieve specific symptoms. Furthermore, its lack of harsh chemical additives makes it a safer alternative to traditional methods of consuming cannabis. With these advantages in mind, it’s no wonder why so many people believe in the vape’s effectiveness and why it has become so popular among both recreational and medicinal marijuana users alike.

UZA’s Message Of Hope To Zimbabweans

UZA 2023 Message of Hope

1 January 2023

Dear Patriots and friends of the United Zimbabwe Alliance,

When we began 2022, the UZA Party had just a few members – but we had great determination, a clear vision and optimism for our country’s bright future.

Over the past 12 months, we have seen a steady growth in support. UZA is now represented in almost every Constituency and as UZA Party Structures are being formed, our standing for the 2023 general elections grows stronger.

I want to take a moment to look back at the year and recognize some of the achievements, all of which were made possible with the support of you, the citizens of our great nation:

-The UZA Party Launch Event was held on 16 March 2022

-UZA participated in the 26 March By-Elections fielding candidates in Midlands and Harare UZA celebrated its first anniversary on 29 May 2022

-UZA held its first Press conference on 3 June 2022

-UZA released a new Party website at www.unitedzimbabwe.org which provides a repository of party documents, reflects the activities of the party and facilitates broader visibility and engagement

-The UZA Presidium visited most Provinces in Zimbabwe and engaged citizens in Matebeleland North, Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland Central, Bulawayo, Midlands and Harare. The Presidium also visited Zimbabweans and UZA Party leaders in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

-In addition to growing our Party Structures throughout Zimbabwe, UZA increased citizens engagement in diaspora and is establishing active diaspora Paty Structures

-UZA appointed a growing team of Secretariat that is well equipped and fully functional UZA office infrastructure was constructed for UZA Secretariat and hosted leadership meetings 520,000 UZA Flyers in English, Shona, Ndebele, Tonga and Nambya were printed and distributed throughout Zimbabwe. 92,000 pieces of UZA regalia including t-shirts, caps, hats and wraps were distributed to UZA Party Members and party supporters

-An increased number of vehicles were acquired for use as part of the UZA Party fleet UZA launched a billboard campaign beginning in Harare and Midlands

-UZA expanded social media presence with handles for @presvalerio @uzalliance and others and has engaged a highly competent media team

-Provincial Chairs from the UZA Youth Wing and Women’s Wing convened a strategy meeting focusing on enterprise planning
UZA conducted Provincial Leader Induction Workshops for 341 UZA Provincial leaders.

Looking ahead, we remain fully focused. There is still much to be done to strengthen our party structures and to increase voter registration and citizens engagement.

Our Patriots also have the important task of selecting the leaders that will represent UZA in the 2023 general elections.

Focusing more broadly on Zimbabwe, we are painfully aware that this year, like many before, has been a very difficult year for the majority of Zimbabweans.

Our nation has been plagued by challenges most of which emanate from gross mismanagement; lack of constitutional compliance; failure to adhere to the rule of law; corruption; deteriorating infrastructure; inconsistent delivery of water and electricity; and a failed health delivery system.

Many of these challenges emanate from a leadership vacuum. Our current leaders do not have the national development agenda at heart.

Economic Outlook

The current policy reforms have not improved the economic standing of the country let alone the lives and general wellbeing of the ordinary Zimbabwean.

The majority of our citizens live in abject poverty and have access to only one or two meals a day.

The Covid-19 pandemic worsened the circumstances of many causing untold suffering for Zimbabweans socially, mentally and economically.

School dropouts are on the rise and in particular, young girls including minors are being forced out of school while others are married off. Their plight is exacerbated by increased poverty.

Economic policy reforms that have been implemented by the current government lack cohesion and appear to be disconnected from the real economic challenges bedeviling our nation.

There is a great need for sustainable macroeconomic stabilisation that focuses on comprehensive economic growth and job creation.

Government must adopt a people first approach when coming up with economic policies.
UZA will adopt a rights based approach so as to address the basic needs of Zimbabweans.

Our thrust is an empowered society and a human centred approach to development taking into account citizens engagement, gender inclusivity, accountability, environmental sustainability and employment opportunities.

Zimbabwe must once more gain its trade status regionally and internationally as the breadbasket of Southern Africa.

Economic growth should boost industry and innovation and translate to more jobs and prosperous enterprises.

Poverty reduction strategies should not only be on paper and are not to be left as the responsibility of foreigners or NGOs. They should be effectively implemented and felt within communities.

Rule of Law

It is sad that at the close of 2022, our nation is carrying forward injustices against politically connected individuals such as Job Sikhala who today, still is languishing in remand prison despite bail being a Constitutional right.

When the late former President Robert Mugabe was ousted from power many promises were made. Government was said to be turning over a new leaf – but sadly, there still appears to be a partisan approach in the application of justice.

Come 2023, we fear that Zimbabwe will witness the continued persecution of opposition stalwarts.

This persecution will potentially worsen our reputation as a nation. Zimbabwe is a Constitutional democracy.

The current government should walk the talk and stop using state apparatus to settle and score political points against its perceived opponents. The law should not be applied selectively.

Gender Inclusivity

Gender inequalities still exist in Zimbabwe. Structural imbalances are still prevalent in our social, economic and political spheres.

While government has over the years tried to redress these inequalities, the interventions have failed to rectify the existing disparities.

This is why even today in Zimbabwe poverty has a female face. As we head into 2023, it is imperative for government to foster and improve pathways that promote
equality and equity.

Our party will ensure the decentralization of primary health care, prioritize infrastructure development and promote women and youth empowerment as we understand that the future is young.

Equality and equity are possible. A priority should be made towards addressing the challenges being faced by women and girls.

UZA is a government in waiting with clear policy objectives for functional social protection systems.

Our approach entails identifying the causes and preventing, alleviating and reducing the risks that plunge our citizens into poverty.

As 2023 begins, it is important for citizens to recognize that a new, better Zimbabwe is a reality and can be achieved this year.

UZA has an integrated national social protection strategy to lift Zimbabweans out of the doldrums of poverty.

UZA Party implores all Zimbabweans not to lose hope and to remain optimistic. Let’s unite and build a better tomorrow.

We envision a prosperous nation where citizens will lead better lives with dignity.

We must remain united and peaceful knowing that Zimbabwe is for all of us.

Let us all exercise our constitutional rights.

Register to vote and vote in the 2023 elections. When we elect
responsible and competent leaders, we are assured that Zimbabwe will be properly developed.

The onus is on us as citizens to vote for competency in 2023.

We cannot predict what will come, but what’s certain is that we remain committed to building a strong
Zimbabwe with you.

On behalf of the entire UZA leadership, thank you for doing your part to build UZA, the
government Zimbabwe has been waiting for.

Together we can build a strong and better Zimbabwe.

Happy New Year fellow Zimbabweans!

Sikhala Challenges Mnangagwa From Chikurubi

By- CCC deputy chairman Job Sikhala has challenged the Zanu PF regime from Chikurubi Maximum security prison.

Writing from the Prison cells on new year’s eve Sikhala said the democratic space has been shrinking in Zimbabwe, reminding of the precolonial era when there were gross human rights violations. We present the letter below:

Beloved Zimbabweans!

Happy New Year Dear Compatriots:

I sincerely congratulate and wish you all, Dear Compatriots, a happy and prosperous 2023. Let us all thank the Almighty God for his grace in taking us all into the new year. We thank you Lord for your eternal love.

Dear Zimbabweans, it is with regret and most unfortunate that I now share with you, a personal issue that I have kept to myself for the past three weeks. It is something that I did not share with anyone and kept to myself for these past 3 weeks. I had kept it to myself for the sake of my children and my wife. I know how much it will affect them.

I have not been feeling well for the past three weeks. A pain that started mildly on the left side of my abdomen has steadily grown to be extremely heavy and excessive by each passing day. There is some painful strike that exudes itself from the left side which I don’t really understand and do not know what it is. I pray that it is not colon cancer. It is worrying me very seriously.

Since the day I vomited and had a ceaseless running stomach, some time ago, which was widely reported, the prison authorities refused to allow my doctor to attend to me. This is despite the fact that my doctors came several times in the company of my lawyers Beatrice Mtetwa and Doug Coltart. Since then, I have stopped requesting the permission of my doctor to attend to me. The pain is severe during the night especially when I sleep by that left side. I ask all of you dear Zimbabweans, to pray for me to be healed of this pain. There is nothing beyond the cure of God.

I know the year 2022, like all the years of the past decade, has been catastrophic to all of us. The economic decay and the suffering of the general masses of our people has reached tragic levels. There has also been:

• closure, completely, of all the democratic space in the country,

• sharp growth of impunity,

• arbitrary arrests

• escalation in human rights abuses, which has resulted in some of us becoming long-term guests at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison in extremely curious circumstances,

• the passage of oppressive laws, similar in nature and context to those administered by Ian Douglas Smith’s Rhodesia and apartheid South Africa.

• The use and application of terror and violence as instruments of political coercion witnessed during the past by-elections, the barring of CCC political races in various places.

Our country is in a crisis!

Freedom of expression has been completely shut down. Any criticism of the government is viciously crushed. What I know is that the world will not allow you to perish on your own dearest Zimbabweans. From the SADC region, voices of reason shall emerge. The African Union, United Nations and all outposts of democracy shall speak out in defense of our people under siege. I understand you might be outside, and I am inside, but our suffering and pain is the same. We are all under attack. What is happening to me today may happen to you tomorrow.

As for me dear compatriots, it is both in the public and world glare that I am going through the persecution of century, over spurious, if not bizarre allegations. It’s now almost seven months and the choreographed script plays on. As I always alluded, I am prepared to be killed.

What I stood for was correct both on earth and in heaven. Moreblessing All was a woman, viciously kidnapped and brutally murdered. I was instructed by her family to be their lawyer. I am proud for having represented their interests to the best of my abilities. If I am killed dear compatriots, I am prepared to meet the fate in defense of values and principles I hold dearly; values of a free and open democratic society, exuding happiness, free of impunity and fear.

Even if I die, dear Zimbabweans, my persecution has taught me two important stations someone should pass through in life to understand and appreciate the true circle of life. One is college and the other is prison. College takes you through the interactive journey of intellectual discourse and acquisition of knowledge to equip you and enable you to cope with the challenges of today and tomorrow. It links you to the consistency of solid acquaintances who will in the future, stand in your corner come rain or sunshine, whatever difficult trial or tribulation, no matter how seemingly insurmountable. It reveals to you that knowledge alone is inadequate if it doesn’t locate within you, humility and empathy. It is a social construct. It links life with the needs and demands of the general masses of the people.

Prison teaches one the injustices and cruelty of the wicked. It opens up the mind to understand how power can be used irresponsibly to inflict maximum pain to the innocent and the powerless. Prison is the uppermost university that taught me that, those who hold power should learn to exercise their authority without an ounce of arrogance, aggression or force. The tough conditions here at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison have taught me to strengthen mastery over emotions. Many leaders tend to be conceited and arrogant when they grow to have power over millions. Many men have faced adversity, but if you truly wish to test the character of a man, give him power and thereafter watch the theatrics.

With respect, prison teaches one to distinguish real and true friends on the one hand and hypocrites on the other. It opened me and exorcised from me some fallacies and falsehoods I had about some people around me. It made discover that my sincere, genuine and eternal friends are the masses and peoples of Zimbabwe, cutting across all classes and professions, domestically and in the diaspora. The passion of their roars and bellows I hear on a daily basis, is amazing and extra-ordinary. A million kisses of love my dearest friends. Your sharing of pain with me is historic.

Genuine friends are seen by the sweat of their efforts, to fight on the side of their cornered friend. The vociferous voices of clamor in every village, township, growth point, town or city in Zimbabwe is being heard echoing every day. Those in all the far corners of the world have demonstrated unmatched support and empathy over the suffering of one their own. Thank you good people!

What does it take to stand with your friend?

The University of Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison has revealed to me treacherous hypocrites, sell outs, colluders with my persecution, opportunists trying to capitalize on the predicament of the moment for cheap political and financial gain from my tormentors. Some wished me dead. I am sick. Please, they must then pray for my death. Some plotted schemes to destroy me by spreading false intelligence given to them by their handlers and are dabbling in rumor-mongering and get into deals to the extent of carrying poisoned food to deliver it with a friendly smile. I am aware of all their shenanigans.

Unjust incarceration also taught me who the real true friends of the people of Zimbabwe are. Nations who stand for the truth and uprightness are seek speaking fearlessly against unjust persecution. I would like to thank them all.

Prison also taught me the role of the progressive and fearless fourth estate in contrast to urging and abetting impunity. Domestically and internationally the voices of the progressives are expounded with clarity.

My dear friends, I thank you all.

Have a happy and prosperous 2023!

Zanu PF Dominates Parly Ad Hoc Committee To Look Into Delimination Report

Parliament has set up an ad hoc committee to consider the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) preliminary delimitation report.

Zec chairperson Priscilla Chigumba recently presented a preliminary delimitation report to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is expected to send the report to Parliament by end of next week.

In a memo dated December 29 written by acting Clerk of Parliament, Hellen Dingane addressed to the Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda, Senate president Marble Chinomona, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Tsitsi Gezi, deputy President of the Senate, Mike Nyambuya and all members of the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders, Dingane sought authority to set up a committee to consider the delimitation report.

“Following the submission of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) delimitation report to His Excellency the President on December 26, 2022, and the expected tabling of the same report to Parliament on January 6, 2023, authority is sought in terms of Standing Rules and Orders Number 25 of the National Assembly and Standing Orders number 24 of the Senate to appoint an ad hoc committee to analytically consider the said report,” Dingane said.

“The proposed members of the ad hoc committee are Pupurai Togarepi, Dexter Nduna, Kenneth Musanhi, Tsitsi Muzenda, Chido Madiwa, David Parirenyatwa, Musa Ncube, Cuthbert Mpame, Chief Siatabwa Siansali, Prince Sibanda, David Tekeshe, Douglas Mwonzora and Anele Ndebele.”

The proposed 13-member committee is dominated by Zanu PF with 10 members.

The MDC-T is represented by its leader Douglas Mwonzora and Anele Dube, with Prince Dubeko Sibanda the sole representative of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).

Dingane said the report would be tabled in both Houses on January 6, with the ad hoc committee commencing work on January 7.

“The ad hoc committee will present its report findings and recommendations in both Houses on January 13 and (legislators will) debate the Zec report and recommendations from the ad hoc committee on January 17 and 18.

“The report will be presented to the President on January 19,” Dingane said.

Zec has been under attack multiple times from the opposition CCC for presiding over what it claimed is a flawed delimitation process ahead of polls expected next year.

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has expressed optimism at upstaging the ruling Zanu PF at this year’s harmonized elections.

Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said 2023 was a done deal with a new Zimbabwe now on the horizon.

“It’s a done deal. We are ready for the mandate to lead, govern and turn our Zimbabwe new and great, happy and prosperous,” said Chamisa.

Opposition Leader Lays Into CCC Over Sikhala

Opposition Transform Zimbabwe (TZ) leader Jacob Ngarivhume has laid into Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) accusing them of neglecting Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala.

Ngarivhume said the thinking that if they protest against Sikhala’s detention, CCC leader Nelson Chamisa will be arrested and gets locked up until elections is a cheap excuse used not to take bold steps to free the incarcerated legislator.

“Hiding behind the thinking that if we rally for @JobSikhala1 they will arrest our leaders and lock them up until the elections is a cheap excuse to not do the hard thing.

“Our freedoms are under attackOur justice system is under attackOur very existence is under attack @edmnangagwa is able to comfortably go on leave after a disastrous year because he knows Zimbabweans are too pigeon-hearted to do anything!!!,” said Ngarivhume.

Sikhala was recently denied bail for the umpteenth time meaning he has been in remand custody for over six months now.

Wiwa Clocks 200 Days In Prison

Even if you’re “not into politics”, the fact that an innocent citizen has been jailed without trial for 200 days must trouble you. We must never normalize persecution that rips apart the fabric of our Constitution. The right to bail & the presumption of innocence are sacrosanct.

Zanu PF, CCC Wars Soils Names Of HCC Top Officials

By A Correspondent| The unending wars between Zanu PF and CCC have dragged Harare City Council (HCC) senior officials into the mud as the authorities are using their names to build criminal cases against opposition councillors.

Recently, the authorities said they are investigating cases of abuse of office by some councillors and senior officials.

However according to sources at HCC, the issue has to do with political fights between CCC and Zanu PF.

“The authorities are just trying to build a strong case against councillors so they want to involve senior officials so that their case makes sense. If you look some senior officials have nothing to do with that so called deal. If you take into consideration the role of the chamber secretary is to convene meeting and he does not sign anything to do with councillors stands but his name is being mentioned. The accusations are legally misdirected.

“The said councillors were supposed to be given leases. The land is supposed to be advertised in papers to see if their any objections. Its not true what is being said , those people do not have any papers and how can they sale the land in question. This is politics at play nothing much.”

Uproar As HCC Splashes On Mafume Mayoral Prado

By A Correspondent| Despite the Harare City Council acknowledging it has dismally failed residents and  ratepayers in providing efficient services, the council has acquired a brand new Prado for Mayor Jacob Mafume.

A memo gleaned by this publication shows that a resolution by the human resources committee okayed the acquisition of the top range vehicles but sources who spoke to this writer say this was done unprocedurally.

“It has never happened that a mayor can drive a council vehicle. He is not a council employee.

“And we hear he wants to take the car when he leaves office,” said the source who declined to be named.

“Under normal procedures a mayoral car should be chauffeur-driven but Mafume is abusing this by driving himself and using the car for CCC activities instead of council work,” adds the source.

Another source said the ‘resolution is scandalous’ and vindicates that the top CCC official is after self-aggrandisement.

“This resolution is scandalous and shows how Mafume has an insatiable appetite to looting.

“Remember he is the guy who wanted to acquire a stand for his sister unprocedurally and now he has coerced the human resources committee to splurge money on a brand new Prado,”the source explained.

It is rumoured that Mafume is boasting that minister of local government and public works July Moyo can’t stop him in all his shenanigans as evidenced previously when he failed to suspend him from executing his mayoral duties.

This latest revelation comes at a time, a daily state publication revealed that there is a massive land looting by some councillors and top council officials.

They are being accused of allocating themselves land from as little as US$60 and then selling the land at US$120 000.

Efforts to get a comment from HCC corporate communications manager Innocent Ruwende were fruitless.

Former Pope Benedict XVI Dies

By- The former Pope Benedict XVI has died at his Vatican residence.

He was 95.

The former Pope died almost a decade after he stood down because of ailing health.

The Vatican said in a statement:

With sorrow, I inform you that the Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican.

Further information will be provided as soon as possible.

His death on Saturday came days after his successor Pope Francis had asked for prayers for his predecessor, saying he was “very sick”.

He died in his residence at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery which he had chosen as his residence after resigning in 2013, Al Jazeera reported citing the Holy See Press Office.

He led the Catholic Church for less than eight years until, in 2013, he became the first Pope to resign since Gregory XII in 1415.

Benedict spent his final years at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery within the walls of the Vatican.

His successor Pope Francis said he had visited him there frequently.

Mavaza: ZANU PF Strengthened In 2022, The Year Of Strategies

By Dr Masimba Mavaza| During the year 2022 the CCC president has radically expanded the social safety net but struggled to protect his influence to the voting majority.

The CCC has made history to be the first social group masquerading as a political party yet they represented a tyrannical spring. Chamisa had managed to create a dictatorship politically motivated party with no constitution no sim no policy no focus only two people leading it which are CHAMISA and Fadzai
Mahere. Voters will render a telling verdict on Chamisa and CCC as they decide whether to keep control of our country to the people or to the puppets. In 2022 we have learnt to forgive people if their views about the president’s record so far are a bit complicated. It is because the coming of the CCC was based on a narrative that demonised Zimbabwe and it’s true leadership.
In less than two years, of its creation CCC has chaotically ended the democratic process in Zimbabwe while struggling to bring forward a constitution of the party. Domestically, he’s pursued nothing less than a transformation of the social safety net, with an agenda comprising a dizzying intent bent on reversing the gains of the independence struggle. Despite the curse of the yellow fever ZANU PF through ED MNANGAGWA has accomplished quite a lot of things perhaps more than most political observers expected with such little space to move having been stifled by the sanctions. Some of his legislative moves, on democracy and preserving peace and safety for example, have even been bipartisan victories. In one year only MNANGAGWA has also achieved many of his most progressive priorities, which have fallen victim to a combination of sanctions and opposition. In the past few months, Mnangagwa has bolstered his progressive record without the help from outside.

Each year ZANU PF writes history which looks back at our achievements across the last 12 months, and explains how the party has campaigned towards securing vision for a democracy fit for the 21st Century.
By using our voice in the media, developing in-depth research and policy, campaigning and influencing and making the case online we’ve led the charge for reform in 2022. Our major milestones in 2022 ZANU PF was to maintain democracy in the face of provocation. ZANU PF is the only party with a Proportional Representation in parliament.
Convincing the party to make a cultural shift and become a party that supports Electoral Reform which has become an integral part of our drive of change as laid out in our strategic plan. In 2002 we made historic progress towards the international engagements and coming up with a foreign policy only made in ZANU PF. This was the culmination of many years of building a campaign for friendship with all and boosting investment and leaving no one behind (Politics for the Many) and of being part of the change and became a party that organised so skilfully within its ranks to build support in branches and in constituencies and to position itself as a winnable option in towns where we have been seeing red for a long time.

2022 we have worked closely with our people everyone encouraging them to register to vote. The Commissariat department pressed on the Politics for the Many to build up support ahead of the successful vote we will have in 2023. Throughout the year we worked to create a compelling communications campaign to build support for us in and outside the Party.
ZANU PF worked closely with its partners before and during the congress to build the case for 2022.

The party gained more and we will be having a landslide victory in 2023.

We have seen a number of youth coming to join ZANU PF. Chief Hwenje motivated the party in songs and praises. Cde Mutsvangwa Chris and madam boss Mutsvangwa supported by Tafadzwa Mugwadi sweated to keep the image of the party clean and thanks to them ZANU PF remained visible.

2022 saw our dedicated team of varakashi flying the flag Of the party high.

The has come to an end but there are many heroes who bled for the party. Zimbabwe is a jewel because of ZANU PF. We can not forget General Zabanyana,General Rugeje cde Matemadanda cde Mai Hungwe cde Obert Mpofu and the whole team of elders.

2023 saw a great dedication to country and self. Cde NPC Bimha General Rugeje, Zabanyana, Matemadanda, Ophar Rushesha Muchinguri Kashiri, Obert Mpofu mhofu Tizora and many senior leaders graduated with doctorate degrees at the same time guiding and directing the party.

All ZANU PF cadres wherever they are, this was our year and more of our years are coming.

Shock As Village Wakes Up Grave Open, Coffin Missing

By-Villagers in Mutare’s Odzi area in Manicaland province had their shock of life after they woke up seeing a grave they had buried a person open with the corpse missing.

Open Grave

This happened to the Makaza family, who had buried their grandmother on December 12 at Odzi Cemetery.

Their 98-year-old granny, Gogo Cecilia Makaza succumbed to diabetes and asthma.

For the past two months, residents have been waking up to desecrated graves, mostly of elderly women.

To date, 12 known graves have been violated in the cemetery, with 11 of them being of elderly women.

Some graves had pictures removed from tombstones, with the others having the tombstones shifted to a new place.

The son to the late Gogo Makaza, Mr Gift Makaza said they were yet to come to terms with the bizarre incident as this is the second time the grave has been desecrated since his mother’s burial on 12 December.

“She was buried on 12 December but on December 14 December, we discovered that the grave had been violated. We went to the police and asked if we could open the coffin to see if anything was amiss on the body, but we were ordered not to do so. We went to the grave and refilled the soil that had been removed from our mother’s grave.

“We were shocked this morning (Wednesday) when we discovered that the grave had been dug again. The coffin was exposed and had been opened. The coffin screws were missing.

“We alerted the police and they gave us the nod to open the coffin and find out if our late mother’s body was still intact. We opened the coffin and discovered that the body was not tampered with. However, the shroud which we buried her with was not wrapped around her. It had been removed and was placed on top of her body. The shroud covering her head was also removed,” he said.

The family reburied Gogo Makaza shortly afterwards after performing some rituals. Footprints of three people were visible near the grave.

“One person was barefooted, the other had boots and the other print looked like those of a woman’s shoes. There was a trail of blood in the graveyard and it was clear that one of them was cut by the iron sheets that were in the grave.

“We followed the blood trail and it led us to where the tools that had been used to dig the grave were hidden. The shovel and pick were hidden in a bush in the graveyard,” said Mr Makaza.

A knife was also found inside the grave.

Ms Joice Matanhire whose relative’s grave was also desecrated appealed to Headman Nyamanhindi to help them in consulting ZINATHA healers.

“This has been happening for a long time. We are requesting ZINATHA healers to help us. The headman should act fast and approach Chief Makoni on this issue. Our relatives’ graves are being tampered with,” she said.

In an interview, Mutare Rural District Council representative for Ward 31, Councillor Maclean Murauro, said that same night (Tuesday), the suspects tried to dig three more graves, but failed.

“We are suspecting that these people are doing this for rituals. This is not the work of artisanal gold miners like what others are suspecting. It is clear that they want something from the dead bodies.

“We have tombstones being removed from their graves and others being broken using iron bars. Most of the targeted graves are of elderly women who died in the early 2000s, save for Gogo Makaza and two others who died this month,” he said.

Councillor Murauro said the community is engaging the traditional leadership on the way forward.

In an interview, Headman Nyamanhindi, Mrs Brandina Nyamanhindi said she is yet to inform Chief Makoni of the bizarre incident.

“I have never come across this macabre real life drama. At first it was the Dzumbira family that approached me, telling me that their late mother, Mrs Rose Dzumbira’s grave had been desecrated. She died in 2002. More cases were reported.

“There is need to consult Chief Makoni over this issue because we are in his area. He has no idea of what is happening here. However, I suspect foul play. We need to sit down as a communrity and raise money so that we can consult Chief Makoni,” said Headman Nyamanhindi.

Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers Association (ZINATHA) president, Mr George Kandiero referred the victims’ families to their provincial offices.

“We have respect for dead bodies and tampering with them is unheard of. This is a clear case of wanting to get rich quickly. In most cases, those who are tampering with these graves will turn the avenging spirit of the dead against their families and that is when you will see living family members struggling and being tormented by their late relatives’ spirits.

“They should deal with this matter forthwith. Our traditional leaders will help cleanse the graveyard to avoid future grave desecrations,” he said.- Manica Post

Sikhala’s Continued Detention Angers CCC

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) national spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere has condemned the continued detention of Zengeza est Member of Parliament (MP), Job Sikhala saying he is innocent.

Mahere made the remarks the Harare Magistrates’ court denied Sikhala bail again this Friday.

Posting on Twitter, Mahere condemned what she termed the weaponization of the law to deny bail to Sikhala.

“The Magistrates’ Court at Rotten Row has again denied Hon @JobSikhala1 bail. We condemn this continued persecution & the weaponization of the law. Bail is a constitutional right. He is innocent,” said Mahere.

Sikhala has been in prison since June when he was arrested and charged with inciting public violence which erupted in Nyatsime during the funeral wake of slain CCC activist Moreblessing Ali.Sikhala denies the charges.

Responding to the court outcome today, Harare East legislator Tendai Biti said the law must protect itself against capture.

“We are shocked by continued denial of bail to @JobSikhala1. The State is clearly not ready. That alone constituted a fundamental change of circumstances. The law must at all material protect itself against capture. It must remain autonomous & free from the illusion that it is owned,” said Biti.

His remarks resonate with sentiments expressed by several analysts who believe the judiciary is captured by the executive.

They believe Sikhala’s prolonged detention is political.

Violent Bouncers To Spend New Year Holiday In Detention

Violent bouncers, Gideon Sanyangore (32) and Blessing Kumunda (36) will spend the New Year holiday in jail after their matter was Friday rolled over to 3 January 2023 by a Harare magistrate.

This was after the two appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje charged with attempted murder.

Sanyangore and Kumunda caused chaos at an upmarket joint in Borrowdale, Harare on Boxing Day after refusing to leave the club which was about to close for the day.

The state alleges that on 26 December 2022, the two were drinking beer at Pabloz Night Club at Sam Levy Village when they were approached by private security guards who were manning the premises notifying them the club was closing business for the day.

Court heard that Sanyangore and Kumunda refused to vacate the premises and instead started pushing the security guards out of the night club.

It is further alleged that when they were out of the club, the two assaulted the guards, with Kumunda pulling a knife and trying to stab them.

One of the complainants, Wilson Kaminyu who was about to be stabbed in the stomach grabbed the knife and sustained deep cuts across his four left hand fingers.

The two were arrested on Thursday after video clips captured on CCTV went viral on social media.

Coincidentally, Sanyangore was recently convicted and ordered to perform community service over another assault offence he committed in October this year. ZimLive

After Threatening To Assassinate Chamisa, VP Chiwenga Prays To God For Calm

It was early in 2022 when Vice President Constantino Chiwenga threatened to kill opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, Chiwenga has said the Government does not expect any acts of violence as the country enters election season.

Speaking at a prayer meeting officiated by controversial prophet Andrew Wutaunashe, Chiwenga said, “you may be aware that the nation has begun the first steps towards preparation for the harmonised elections which are due sometime in 2023. The preliminary Delimitation Report, which was submitted to His Excellency the President, Cde, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa sets in motion processes that lead to these elections. I urge the church to pray for peace and calm in our nation as we head for elections,” said the Acting President.

VP Chiwenga said violence has no place in the country’s political contestations. He implored political parties to accept the outcome of the elections. “Equally, we must show the world that we are a peaceful and indeed a converged nation emerging from the unity of winners and losers joining hands in national development. That is the Zimbabwe we want,” he said. Dr Chiwenga said the Government was heartened by Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi and Reverend Wutawunashe who lobbied for the removal of sanctions imposed on the country by Western countries. He said sanctions serve no purpose except to hurt ordinary Zimbabweans.

The Acting President expressed gratitude to the African continent for standing with Zimbabwe in calling for the removal of illegal sanctions imposed on the country. “Internationally, although faced by unjust and illegal sanctions, we embarked on the hard and patient work of re-engaging even hostile regimes which had punished us for repossessing our own land through extensive illegal sanctions meant to cripple us. “As we work hard on the frontier of international engagement and re-engagement, we are seeing a thawing of relations with normally antagonistic nations,” he said. “We are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. We remain eternally grateful for the resolute support from our sister African countries, through SADC and the African Union.” Speaking at the same prayer event, Roman Catholic Church leader, Father Fidelis Mukonori, said police should arrest anyone who violates the law in the name of politics. “We would like to pray for forthcoming general elections to be done peacefully. It is essential, it is a right. Zimbabwe has never stopped doing its elections every time when it was necessary. We would want to pray that we have a peaceful general election,” said Fr Mukonori. “Acting President, I would like to urge that anyone who goes against the law, that person should be punished accordingly regardless and without fear and favour.” He implored Zimbabweans who invited illegal sanctions to be imposed on the country to call for their removal.

“Before the Americans, there are Zimbabweans who decided to go and seek sanctions. First of all, they knocked at the British door and the British door said the United Kingdom did not have such facilities but these persons were advised to go to the United States of America and seek for these sanctions to be applied,” he said. “They were told once sanctions were applied by the United States of America, the United Kingdom will make sure they were applied across the board in the European Union. These are facts I have. So, we would like to ask both the American people, I would also want to ask also the Europeans, we would also want to ask some among us who go daily to the United States of America to seek the continuous imposition of sanctions to say God can you touch the hearts of these Zimbabweans.” Apostle Wutawunashe said it was important to be thankful as there are a lot of positives that the country has recorded during the course of the year. He said while the country’s detractors only see negative things, there was much development happening in the country. Apostle Wutawunashe said foreigners get shocked when they visit the country and observe the developments on the ground as they are in contrast to the story that they are sold out there. “We have some delegates who have come from around the world to attend the Pan African Churches Convention and many of them are surprised.

“They say the Zimbabwe we see and the Zimbabwe we read about outside this country are two different things. “They are surprised by the progress that is in this nation. And those are eyes which are innocent and are not influenced by any kind of political bias or anything,” said Apostle Wutawunashe. – state media/ additional reporting

Mnangagwa Remembers & Rewards Forgotten Ally

By James Gwati-Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa has added Omega Hungwe to the Party’s highest decision-making body, the Politburo.

Mnangagwa added Hungwe’s name after he announced the names of new politburo members, including his wife, Auxilia, last week.

In November 2017, Hungwe was among the many Zanu PF members persecuted for working with Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa, then, had been fired from the Party and Government by the former and late -President Robert Mugabe.

Mugabe had, then, lined Hungwe for dismissal from the Party.

Zanu PF Secretary for Administration Obert Mpofu

According to the state media, Pasipamire Kanyimo shot himself after his 46-year-old wife, only identified as Virginia, had threatened to divorce him.

An argument followed, forcing Kanyimo to manhandle his wife, Virginia, leaving her unconscious.

Kanyimo somehow believed that he had just murdered his wife, who was lying unconscious.

He hurriedly left the scene and shot himself to death on the left side of his head. Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident. Said Insp Chakanza:

Police are investigating a case involving a man believed to have shot himself to death in Cranborne.

Circumstances were that the wife had a misunderstanding with the now deceased”.

One of the house occupants said the now deceased told her that he was going to shoot himself and she ran to their neighbour for assistance.

On their return, they found the now deceased lying in a pool of blood.

In August this year, a 59-year-old Harare man shot himself once in the head with a gun at his house in Gunhill under unclear circumstances.

Suicide cases continue to increase countrywide with some attributing the rise to depression, a condition that has been prevalent in the country since the eruption of COVID-19.

SA Slay Queen Rocks Harare

By-South African slay queen, and disc jockey Cyan Boujee is currently in Zimbabwe and has the time of her life.

The curvy spinner touched down in the neighbouring country on 28 December for a performance at Pabloz, an exclusive club in the capital.

The event she hosted and performed at was called Belair All-White Champagne Party.

Cyan touched down in Zim on Wednesday, looking simple but trendy. With no makeup on, she had a Gucci bucket hat, lime green tees, and grey leggings that accentuated her shapely figure. She also had lime Air Jordan 1 trainers to match the t-shirt.

She quickly dashed to the Harare International Conference Centre where she had a change of clothes and did not look hot.

Cyan Boujee rocked a skimpy brown dress that illustrated her stunning body and gave people a glimpse of her thick behind as it was transparent. A brown bra and panties concealed the intimate details of her body inside the see-through dress.

She complimented her look with brown, glittering high-heeled platform shoes.

She performed her deejay set and rocked the crowd at Pabloz with Amapiano hits before she left the deck and partied.

Cyan was chilling in the VIP section with one Mwarianesu Chikukwa, who must be one of the organisers of the event. The two got cosy, sharing shots and puffing shisha.

On Thursday, 29 December, Cyan decided to rest and soak in the Zimbabwean sun as she went swimming oozing hotness at the Harare International Conference Centre.

The slay queen a blue swimming costume and accessorised her look with sunglasses.

Later on, she went to a local Harare shop selling Zimbabwe-branded memorabilia and accessories, including hats, key holders, bracelets, and necklaces.

This was the first time Cyan Boujee was a club host and performed in Zimbabwe.

The slay queen burst intop instant fame in South Africa after an interview on Podcast And Chill, where she revealed that she was once in a relationship where she would get an R50 000 weekly allowance.

Priceless Moments As Zim Leeds Community Launch Christmas Surprises For Vulnerable Elderly People

By A Correspondent | Leeds remains the city that’s produced key figures of the Zimbabwean community since Rhodesian days of Simba Makoni and Edson Zvobgo, down to the youngest. It was a busy day on Christmas eve- in the Zim Leeds Community.

on the job…the ZLC comprising 10 volunteers making their surprise visits

Every year since the days of the Rhodesian war, Zimbabweans have celebrated Christmas among families, and friends.

During this time, it’s easy for loneliness to hit many, especially those forgotten by community support groups.

The ZLC spent a whole 4 hours after descending onto the LS9 area, armed with large bags of gifts and groceries. Within 30min they are on their way and they reach the first person, a male elder.

It’s a last hour in the buzz of the Christmas rush and arriving at the first home, the ZLC meets an elderly wise man who shares his views on what the community should consider for growth and purpose in the area. “In all the politics around, isn’t it, this is our society?; We won’t and shouldn’t be sidetracked by the tag Zimbabwe or UK,” he says.

He continues saying, ” we first review the problems we have in our community and see what can be done with what we have; and this includes finding resources such as land in Zimbabwe, all over,” he adds as he also receives the Christmas gifts handed him. The elderly also shares with the team challenges that he has had recently with accommodation and other basic needs.

He also complains saying one of his problems is being housed with ex prisoners after which he is told that there are people who will soon be sent to him to assist where they can.

Another elderly, in a brief comment, commends the ZLC for the community efforts, while another (a 70y old mother to many) hints out at problems facing Zimbabweans in particular immigration issues.

Towards the end, an award winning famous Wymetro employee, is visited in a hospital. In Leeds he is a legend of decades who encountered health struggles 2 years ago. The latter is presented with gifts that include a pile of clothes and a variety of necessities. He communicates with his hands and while smiling to show his joy, he is deeply distressed when the ZLC announce they are now walking off after their half hour time with him. By this time engagements have included singing with him, and doing the things he likes, while also connecting him with his son who lives in Zimbabwe.

By this time, all the visited have taken time to feed back on what they expect the ZLC to do for them and others, and the ZLC heads back to their base.

Commenting, the ZLC Chairperson Chris Goshomi repeatedly assures the specials they should expect more visits as ZLC is there to ensure they are always valued.

“We would like you to know we are always there, and I shall leave you our numbers; I am the Chairperson, and we have ladies who handle various roles…” Goshomi says.

Speaking to ZimEye shortly after the visits, Goshomi describes the ZLC mission under a new tag phrase, saying it is “to live the home life away from home.”

Enisia Mashusha
Ruth Mutero
Roger Svovah
Fungai Mupezeni
Isaac Kurangwa
Lava Mundenda

Zanu PF Elites In Mutoko Lithium Looting Spree

By-Some Zanu PF elites and their runners are said to be looting and smuggling lithium in Mutoko.

This is happening when the Government has banned all exports of lithium ore from promoting local value addition and beneficiation of the mineral.

On Thursday, the Police announced they intercepted trucks with lithium ore in Mutoko.

The authorities did not disclose the owners of the intercepted Lithium laden trucks, bringing a strong suspicion that they could be Zanu PF bigwigs. The police consult the government whenever they want to arrest a prominent member of the ruling party, and it is when after such authority is granted that they go for that individual.

In this case, the police only said they kept the intercepted loads at Mutoko Central Police Station, without also disclosing the quantity of lithium in the trucks.

The Government recently claimed that potential revenue was being lost with illegal lithium mining and smuggling.
Lithium is processed in several steps with most global trade in lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide since the actual metal is highly reactive and bursts into flame on contact with water or in moist environments and corrodes very quickly in the air.
Mutoko villagers are reportedly selling lithium ore for between US$15 to US$20 per wheelbarrow load, or US$100 per tonne, to middlemen who would resell it for US$350 to US$450 a tonne.

Police Recover “Bloody” Knife From Murderous Pabloz Thugs

By- Police have recovered a knife from one of the two Harare hooligans, which they used to stab another bouncer at Pabloz Night Club in Borrowdale last weekend to come forward.

The two were arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder.

Gideon Sanyangore, 32, and Blessing Kumunda, 36, were arrested following a public outcry after a video of them threatening to stab a Pabloz bouncer and assaulting patrons went viral on social media.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest and urged everyone assaulted by the two scamps to come forward.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to confirm the arrest of two suspects in connection with an incident that took place at a night club recently in Borrowdale,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.
“The two are facing attempted murder charges. An okapi knife used to stab one of the complainants was recovered from one of the suspects,” he said.
Ass Comm Nyathi urged night club owners to make sure all activities at their premises are carried out peacefully at all times.
Blessing Kumunda
Gideon and Blessing are expected to appear in court today.
Music promoters, night club owners and revellers complained about the conduct of the two bouncers after reports of their Pabloz attack.
Another video clip was posted on social media showing one of the bouncers splashing a patron with beer in the face before clapping him unprovoked at Mashwede in Glen View.
The two bouncers were banned from most entertainment events, but they had been using force to man entrances and collect gate charges, which they pocketed, boasting that they were untouchable.
Ass-Comm Nyathi also warned people to celebrate peacefully and safely on New Year’s eve, saying those that endanger other people’s lives by lighting fire crackers would be arrested.
He further urged parents and guardians to closely monitor young children, especially girls, as they could easily become victims of rape during the celebrations.
He also warned on the abuse of drugs.

Soccer Legend Pele Dies

Pelé, the Brazilian virtuoso whose captivating skill and athleticism ensured he was universally regarded as one of football’s greatest players, has died at the age of 82.

Pelé, who had a colon tumour removed in 2021, was readmitted to Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo in November amid deteriorating health. A hospital statement on Thursday confirmed the death of “our dear King of Football” at 3.27pm local time, “due to the failure of multiple organs, a result of the progression of cancer of colon associated with his previous clinical condition.”

A statement from Pelé’s official Instagram page added: “Inspiration and love marked the journey of King Pelé, who peacefully passed away today. On his journey, Edson enchanted the world with his genius in sport, stopped a war, carried out social works all over the world and spread what he most believed to be the cure for all our problems: love. His message today becomes a legacy for future generations. Love, love and love, forever.”

After reports he was receiving end-of-life care, Pelé said he felt “strong, with a lot of hope” in a social media post on 3 December. A further statement from the hospital on 21 December reported that Pelé “requires further care related to renal and cardiac dysfunctions” after the “progression” of his colon cancer. Social media posts from his daughter Kely Nascimento showed that family members had gathered at the hospital to spend Christmas with him.

Brazil’s joint all-time record scorer won three World Cups as a player, in 1958, 1962 and 1970, over a 14-year international career that included 77 goals in 92 appearances for his country. Nicknamed “the Black Pearl” and “the King”, Pelé was one of only three players to have scored in four World Cups. In 1,363 games, he scored 1,281 goals, at the time of his retirement in 1977 more than twice as many as his nearest challenger.

It was the 1970 World Cup triumph for which he will be best celebrated, the linchpin of a beguiling team that included Carlos Alberto, Jairzinho, Gérson, Tostão and Rivelino that swept through Mexico, his canary yellow No 10 shirt becoming an icon of the sport.

World Soccer described Brazil’s 1970 winners as “more than a team”, adding: “The Brazilian side that won the 1970 World Cup in such style have become a myth, a team to be held up as the ultimate exponents of the beautiful game.” Pelé was their figurehead and inspiration.

Brazil’s government declared three days of mourning and the arch at Wembley Stadium was lit in the colours of Brazil, while icons of sport and heads of state bowed to the man who rose up from childhood poverty to become a legend. The Guardian

Goche, Murerwa Removed From US Sanctions

Chinamasa blasts listing of 13-year-old daughter

When the United States announced the sanctioning of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son earlier this month, it also revealed the names of 17 individuals who had been removed from the list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN).

Emmerson Junior was added to the SDN together with the wife and associates of business tycoon Kudakwashe Tagwirei and two private companies Fossil Agro and Fossil Contracting.

The sanctions review also saw the removal of 17 individuals from the SDN list with the United States saying they “were found no longer to undermine Zimbabwe’s democratic processes and institutions or to otherwise meet the criteria for designation”.

Prominent names among those removed include former ministers Ignatius Chombo, Nicholas Goche, Jason Machaya as well as the wife of ex-Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Gideon Gono.

Also included was the daughter of former cabinet minister and now Zanu PF Finance boss Patrick Chinamasa.

Zanu PF secretary for finance Patrick Chinamasa
Commenting on the development on Twitter, Chinamasa expressed outrage that his daughter, Gamuchirai, has been hit with sanctions when she was just 13 years old.

“The United States Authorities imposed sanctions against Gamuchirai when she was only 13 years old. Someone needs to explain to me how a 13 year old girl child can pose a threat to the global security interests of the sole World Super Power, the Mighty USA,” said Chinamasa on Twitter.

“Further someone needs to explain not only to me but to the Wider World how a 13 year old girl child can be sanctioned on the basis that she violated human rights. I am sure Hopewell Chin’ono can help explain.

“Ndinoyambira (I wish to advise) political activists who are on the beck and call of Western Countries not to swallow hook, sinker and line the propaganda churned out by Western Imperial Forces on the subject of Human Rights. They don’t mean what they say .They don’t practise what they tell you.”

Meanwhile in a statement accompanying the sanctions review, the US said; “…sanctions are not intended to be permanent but to incentivize changes in behaviour. Each removal is based on a thorough review and is part of an ongoing effort to keep the sanctions program current, focused, and relevant.

“Maintaining the integrity of U.S. sanctions is the driving principle behind a rigorous review process that evaluates every request for removal individually on its merits and applies consistent standards to all of them.”

The statement added; “We again call on the Zimbabwean government to take meaningful steps towards addressing the root causes of many of Zimbabwe’s ills, including corrupt elite and their abuse of the country’s institutions for their personal gain.

“Ahead of the 2023 elections, it is imperative to ensure Zimbabweans have the opportunity to vote elections that are free from violence, repression, and electoral manipulation.”

Pele Dies

By- Brazilian soccer legend Pele has died.

Pele who is the only player in history to win three World Cups, passed away at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo following a battle with cancer; he became an icon of the game after winning the World Cup in 1958 as a 17-year-old, netting twice in the final to defeat hosts Sweden

The former striker, who is the only player in history to win three World Cups, passed away at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo following a battle with cancer.
Pele, who is Brazil’s joint all-time top scorer with 77 goals in 92 matches, became an icon of the game after winning the World Cup in 1958 as a 17-year-old, netting twice in the final to defeat hosts Sweden.
Pele, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, to a poor family in Sao Paulo, won the 1958, 1962 and 1970 World Cups with Brazil.
Pele celebrates after winning the 1970 World Cup in Mexico after beating Italy 4-1
Injury restricted his contribution to Brazil’s triumph in 1962 in Chile but he was player of the tournament eight years later, as Brazil assembled one of the greatest sides of all time and lifted the Jules Rimet trophy in Mexico thanks to a 4-1 win over Italy in which Pele scored the opening goal.
That goal makes him one of only five players to have scored in two World Cup finals and, thanks to his exploits in 1958, he remains the youngest player to have netted a goal at the tournament.
In total, Pele scored 12 goals in 14 World Cup appearances and also provided 10 assists – the most by any player in the history of the competition, and a reminder that he was much more than a goalscorer.`
It was his spectacular scoring feats, though, that made him a Santos legend at club level.
Pele holds his hometown side’s all-time goal record and helped them to two Copa Libertadores titles and six Brazilian league crowns during a glittering 18-year spell with the club.
Pele, who scored 1,281 goals in 1,363 games for club and country during his career, ended his playing days at New York Cosmos and retired from football in 1977.
After retiring, Pele acted as an ambassador for football. In 2013, he was awarded the FIFA Ballon d’Or Prix d’Honneur in recognition of his career and achievements. In 2020, he was named in the Ballon d’Or Dream Team, a greatest of all-time XI.

Two of the hooligans, Gideon Sanyangore and Blessing Kumunda have been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Zanu PF Connected Thugs Loot Lithium

By-Some politically connected elites are looting and smuggling lithium in Mutoko.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police Thursday announced they intercepted trucks with lithium ore in Mutoko.

This is happening at a time the Government has banned all exports of lithium ore from promoting local value addition and beneficiation of the mineral.

According to the Herald, the intercepted loads are stored at Mutoko Central Police Station.
The publication did not disclose the quantity of lithium that was in the trucks.
