Sabbath School Summary
By Dr Masimba Mavaza | Meekness in the Crucible
Lesson 10
Memory Text: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5, NKJV).
INTRODUCTION
We don’t hear the word meek used much, except maybe when reading about Moses or studying the Beatitudes. It’s not hard to figure out why, either. Meekness is defined as “enduring injury with patience and without resentment.” No wonder we don’t hear much about it; it’s hardly a trait well respected in cultures today. Sometimes the Bible translates this word as “humble.” Again, humility isn’t a character trait seen as desirable by most cultures either. But meekness, enduring injury with patience and without resentment, is one of the most powerful characteristics of Jesus and His followers. And yet, it’s not an end in itself: meekness of spirit can be a powerful weapon in the hands of those who are in the midst of pain and suffering. Indeed, the crucible is a great place to learn meekness of heart, for through our own meekness and broken places we can be powerful witnesses for God.
The Week at a Glance: What is the relationship between suffering and meekness? How can we, in our own meekness and broken places, be a witness to others? How can meekness really be a strength, not a weakness, for the Christian?
SABBATH: Meekness is not taking offense at the offenses of others. When grieved, the meek put up with it. They forgive seventy times seven. To be meek is to endure injury with patience without anger. No wonder it is not a trait hailed in a world where we’re told to fight for our rights. Meekness is at times termed as humility in the Bible. It is a trait of Jesus & His saints. In the crucible, we can learn meekness.
SUNDAY: Meekness has to do with other people. A meek is known by being put with those who’d try his temper. It’s a life of service. Moses endured gossip & Joseph endured betrayal to manifest God’s grace & care for others. Oswald Chambers says we’re to be “broken bread & poured-out wine” for others. Our test can be to others a testimony. Ezekiel was set as a sign to Israel in his afflictions (Ezek. 24:15-27).
MONDAY: The meek sees himself to be less than the least of all men, the chief of sinners, not superior to others, & a debtor of God’s grace. Moses, when given the chance to be esteemed & Israel condemned chose to suffer with his people. It was a test from God on Moses & the patriarch passed his test. We can face a crucible to proof our love for others (Exod. 32:1-14). Grace found Miriam (Num. 12; 16).
TUESDAY: God dislikes sin but He love sinners. We are also to dislike the wrong of others but love them. It’s to dislike the dirt a pearl is hide in but loving the pearl in the dirt. “God does not love us because we are nature lovable. But we become lovable because He loves us.” We are to love & pray for our enemies. Jesus tells of how His Father treat us amidst our sins. We’re to imitate Him (Matt. 5:43-48). Show care!
WEDNESDAY: Those who’re meek seldom complain. They do not talk of being born on a wrong planet or ask “why me?” when tried. They’re dumb with silence in trials & talk only to praise God. It’s awful to be treated unjustly by others & we’re often prone to put things right. But Peter tells us to copy Christ (1 Pet. 2:18-25). Christ’s silence before Pilate when He could talk testifies of His meekness (Matt. 11:29).
THURSDAY: Meekness is the exact opposite of pride. Often, the most proud people & arrogant are those who suffer from low self-esteem. They cover their lack of humility & meekness, sometimes unaware, with pride. They crave for security & worthiness. We find that only in God. Meekness isn’t weakness but shows we’re rooted in God. We’ll be hated for no cause but God’s got us (Ps. 62:1-8, UL, p. 177).
FRIDAY: The difficulties we face can be lessened by that meekness which hides itself in Christ. We’ll rise above the annoyance & insult we face daily with meekness. The highest proof of nobility in Christ is self-control. Anyone who under abuse fails to be calm robs God of His right to reveal in him His own perfection of character. Lowliness of heart is the strength that gives victory to the followers of Christ.

Discussion Questions
? How does humility allow us to “rise above” hurts and annoyances? What do you think is the most important characteristic of humility that allows us to do this?
? In your own particular culture, how are the characteristics of humility and meekness viewed? Are they respected, despised, or what? What kind of pressures do you face in your culture that work against you in cultivating these characteristics?
? Are there any great examples of meekness and humility among people alive today? If so, who are they, how have they expressed these traits, and what can you learn from them?
? Why is it that we so often equate meekness and humility with weakness?
? We saw how David sought the Lord as a refuge. But how does that work? How is that refuge always manifested? In other words, how can we, as a church, be a refuge for those who need a refuge? What kind of refuge does your own local church provide? What can you do to help make it a place of refuge for those who need it?
Tinashe Sambiri|A top Zanu PF official has openly declared that Zanu PF will unleash a reign of terror against perceived political foes before the 2023 polls.
The Zanu PF MP for Mutoko East Constituency, Richard Musiyiwa, is heard in an audio clip declaring that opposition members shall be dealt with before the coming polls.
“VIOLENCE ALERT: More and more evidence of violence & intimidation against #CCC members continue to be revealed.
In this recorded audio, a sitting Zanu PF MP for Mutoko East Constituency, Richard Musiyiwa confirms that his party is currently mobilizing the young people across the country in order to unleash violence against the citizens ahead of the 2023 elections,”CCC said in a statement.
Zimbabweans should abide by the conditions that the Government set when it lifted the mandatory wearing of face masks for their own safety, and not out of fear of being arrested, the police said yesterday.
The Government last week waived the mandatory wearing of face masks in public for those who have received the three World Health Organisation recommended vaccines.
But they should still wear them in closed spaces and also carry their vaccination cards all the time for proof.
Following the announcement, most people have stopped wearing face masks including in public transport, despite statistics indicating a low vaccination uptake since the government started rolling out the programme two years ago.
The police have not been visible in enforcing the rule, despite most people being known to have received only two jabs, as statistics of those who got the third jab are disappointingly low.
Many Zimbabweans were reluctant to get vaccinated due to myths that were associated with the medicines. The high number of deaths during the first days spurred people to get jabbed, but as cases declined, the uptake also went down.
Also the myth that the corona virus thrives under cold conditions has led many to believe that the approaching summer will take away the danger completely and as a result, the country risks experiencing a wave of new infections and deaths as citizens mistake the lull in cases since the winter season ended as sign that the disease has gone.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told New Ziana that enforcement of the rules that the Government set remained one of the top priorities for the law enforcement agents.
“The Government has made it clear that the wearing of masks is still valid and only those who have taken three jabs cannot wear the face masks in certain places.
“For example, indoors they have to wear masks,” he said.
“The public should not wait to be arrested by the police. They must wear masks for their own safety.”
A survey in the capital showed that since the announcement, many people were moving around without face masks while the few who had them, were wearing them bellow the chins in readiness to pull them up when they saw the police.
The situation was worse in high density areas, where very few were still bothering to wear the protective face coverings, while all shops also no longer required customers to put them on.
Levels of consciousness about personal health are also showing among the citizens, as those who care about their safety are wearing the protective face cloths in public transport while the majority are not bothering to do so.
The categories still donning face masks include mostly the elderly and middle aged women, while the majority of young people have thrown caution to the wind.
As of last Friday, the country had recorded 16 Covid-19 related deaths this month alone, after a lull in both infections and deaths since the beginning of the year.
MDC-T leader Mr Douglas Mwonzora has hailed the Second Republic for progress made in the construction of Lake Gwayi-Shangani.
Upon completion, Lake Gwayi-Shangani, will become the third largest inland water body after Tugwi-Mukosi and Lake Mutirikwi, both in Masvingo Province.
The big dam is part of the National Matabeleland Zambezi Water Project, an idea which was conceived more than a century ago and has only been turned into reality by the Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa.
Lake Gwayi-Shangani is expected to provide a permanent water solution for Bulawayo and the Matabeleland region.
Mr Mwonzora, addressing a Press conference in Bulawayo, said the progress made thus far by the Second Republic is impressive and it shows they are priotising Matabeleland and trying to solve the water crisis currently at hand.
“We support the effort to bring water to Matabeleland. We are in full support of the Gwayi-Shangani dam being expedited and we hope it will be done soon. We hope to see a Matabeleland that does not depend on any province once the Gwayi-Shangani dam is completed,” he said.
Mr Mwonzora said the completion of the dam will benefit Matabeleland greatly especially since it is rich in flora and fauna.
“Matabeleland is rich with flora and fauna not forgetting the livestock that is found in the province. With water this will benefit the country greatly.”
Recently, Zinwa assistant resident engineer Lucio Chayeruka said they introduced day and night shifts, each having at least 300 people as part of efforts to speed up the process.
“At any given time, we have 300 people working at the site but in total the number of people employed is 600. We now have two shifts divided into two groups, each comprising 300 people working during the day and the other at night,” he said.
“At night, we break from 12 midnight to 1AM while during the day it is from 12 midday to 2PM.”

Dr Tonderai Manyau| I strongly fear that we are losing it as Africans. The way we hate one another is becoming a pandemic. I have nothing personal against Dr Phophi Ramathuba, but her recent utterances about a patient straining the provincial system in Limpopo left me numb and shocked.
There is an African proverb that says, “a visitor can never finish your food”. This should teach us how to treat visitors despite their colour, race or tribe.
It is deeply rooted in the philosophy of giving and love for one another as human beings. How would we feel if or our children are denied food or water as visitors somewhere?
The problem of migration is a worldwide phenomenon and has been there for many years. There are so many reasons linked to this and we cannot exhaust them here. But, the crux of the matter is it is unjustified to dehumanise any human being based on their circumstances or migration status. Worse, denying them food, shelter or medication is more cruel. Remember we are all human beings and we should treat each other with dignity and respect always.
Our foremost African principle of ubuntu does not condone being insensitive to one another. As Africans we are all guided by this.
Ubuntu in Shona, spoken in Zimbabwe, is hunhu, in Ndebele ubuntu. In Swahili, spoken in Kenya, it is orumundu and in Herero spoken in Namibia it is omundu. The principle states that I am what I am because of others. One cannot feel better by diminishing or shaming another human being. Vulnerability is not a choice.
It is key to rethink our words and actions as leaders. Let’s use proper channels and sensible logical ways to solve issues. Attacking one’s personality or status in life is as good as attacking yourself. We are all human with the same blood and feelings and so we need to love, care and protect each other more. Unity, love, respect and being considerate among ourselves will take us far as humans.

By Staff Reporter| Zimplats and Mhondoro chiefs have once again plotted to remove critical members of the community ownership board who oppose the trust deed amendment that allows Zimplats to stop paying the 10% community shares agreed upon in 2011.
ZimEye has learned that the purge and victimization of trust members who oppose the amendment has been facilitated in order to allow Zimplats to withdraw community share ownership trust payments without consulting local communities, which is currently taking place.
At least two trust members have been expelled, and several others currently opposing the amending the trust deed are being muzzled pending dismissal.
According to sources, the Zimplats Mhondoro Ngezi Chegutu Zvimba Community Trust (ZMNCZ), led by Mhondoro chiefs, has now become a de facto extension of Zimplats, notifying members who oppose the amendment that their tenure as trust members has expired.
A source who preferred anonymity fearing victimization implicated Zimplats head corporate affairs Busi Chindove for being the mastermind behind the purges to fast track the illegal amendment of the deed.
“Zimplats boss Busi Chindove and some captured ZMNCZ board members who are chiefs are conspiring to remove board members who are not traditional chiefs.
“This is done to ensure that the trust board is limited to traditional leaders who are unaware of these important governance issues. Zimplats is using the chiefs’ ignorance about governance issues to manipulate them into implementing unfavorable policies.
“To make matters worse, Busi Chindove, has a relative on the board called Chief Murambwi who does her dirty bidding, to ensure the status quo remains so that she can easily manipulate the board,” the source said.
Community Share Ownership Trusts were established under the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act with the goal of setting up Share Ownership Trusts (CSOTs) as vehicles of community development.
The trusts obligated foreign mining companies to transfer 10% of their shareholding to ensure local communities received dividends and were direct beneficiaries of their natural resources.
The Zimbabwean government in 2018 amended the Act through the Administrative Measures and the Finance Act to remove the 51% shareholding held by indigenous people, which the incumbent President claimed restricted foreign ownership of local businesses and discouraged much-needed investment.
Critics have castigated Zimplats while being a giant platinum mining company has been failing to pay community share ownership dividends, which are being paid by smaller mining entities.
“The Zimplats and Mhondoro Ngezi cartel is currently targeting one of the board members representing the women’s quota from Zvimba.
“She was told to come to ZMNCZ on Friday to pick up the letter terminating her board membership.
“Only to be denied the letter and confronted by two ladies at reception who professed ignorance of her pending dismissal saying the CEO had instructed them to issue such a letter before being ordered out of the premises,” said another source
Efforts to reach Chindove were futile as she did not respond to the questions sent to until this publication came out.
It seems crazy that the World Cup is only a few weeks away.
Having the World Cup bang in the middle of the Premier League season is unusual, but we are all looking forward to the winter competition. After all, it only comes around once every four years!
There has been a lot of talk about what a World Cup in Qatar is going to look like. However, there is no denying that soccer is insanely popular in Qatar, and we are sure they are going to put on one hell of a show.
But what about the players? There is no denying that Erling Haaland has been the star over the past few months, but with Norway not taking part in the competition, it’s time for other players to sign.
We take a look at three players to keep a keen eye on throughout World Cup 2022:
1. Pablo Martín Páez Gavira (Gavi)
There is a lot expected of this exciting Spanish talent. He is one of Xavi’s prodigies who is playing a key role in rebuilding Barcelona at the moment.
He is already part of the Spanish midfield, and has won a number of awards, including the Kopa trophy at the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
His club manager is not surprised, with Xavi saying the following recently:
“It doesn’t surprise me, I see him train every day. It’s down to hard work, discipline and heart. He was the best player in the game, because of his intensity, fight, passing, high pressing – he has heart in his legs.”
2. Vinicius Jr
Of course, we have to mention Real Madrid and Brazil’s Vinicius Jr. It is worth noting that his 22 goal haul was only bettered by Karim Benzema, which is pretty impressive for a 22-year-old playing in La Liga.
There is a feeling that this could be Vinicius Jr’s year on the international stage. While has not been as prolific for Brazil, he is part of a team that has not experienced a loss in the past three years, and he is only getting better.
3. Jude Bellingham
Last but not least, England have an exciting youngster on their hands in Jude Bellingham. He is currently plying his trade in Germany for Borussia Dortmund, where he made history by becoming the youngest ever captain in the Bundesliga.
We did not see Bellingham get much game time during the 2020 Euro campaign. However, he has matured immensely over the past couple of years, and the pre-tournament friendlies seem to show that he is very much in Southgate’s plans.
Which players are you most looking forward to seeing?
So there you have it: our top three picks when it comes to the players you should be keeping your eyes on during the 2022 World Cup.
Which player do you think will have a big tournament in Qatar?
By James Gwati- Limpopo Health provincial minister Dr Phophi Ramathuba has repeated her attacks on Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
In a fresh video, Dr Ramathuba, said Mnangagwa was just seated in Zimbabwe while the country’s health delivery system was dilapidating.
She said South Africa would treat Zimbabweans visiting their hospitals and send the bills to Mnangagwa.
Dr Ramathuba last week told a Zimbabwean patient waiting for surgery at a health institution in Limpopo that Zimbabweans were straining South Africa’s health systems.
She also said that Harare was not giving her a budget for its citizens’ health care in South Africa.
Dr Ramathuba said this in front of patients and several health workers to the embarrassment of the ailing Zimbabwean on a death bed.
The campaigner and news supplier Hopewell Chin’ono yesterday fled a journalists’ WhatsApp group after being exposed for lying and on top of that endangering the Newsday Editor, Wisdom Mdzungairi through unsubstantiated allegations of confessing to knowing about brown envelope taking.
Chin’ono last week also indicated that journalists who do not do rolling reporting in the Justice Wadyajena case hearings have been bribed.
It is an offence to report inside Zimbabwe’s courts.
For over a month, Chin’ono has been evading questions over his allegations against particularly Mr Mdzungairi.

By James Gwati- Zambia has announced the reduction of fuel prices with immediate effect.
The reduction in fuel prices comes from economic stability attributed to several measures the new government is implementing.
These measures have also made the Zambian Kwacha, once the worst in recent years, the world’s second-performing currency.
The Zambian economy has improved dramatically barely a year after the opposition United Party for National Development president, Hakainde Hichilema, beat Edgar Lungu of Zambia’s founding party, the Patriotic Front.
Zambia’s ruling party spokesperson, Joseph Kalimbwe, said he was happy to see his government reducing fuel prices.
He posted on Twitter:
Due to the growing strength of the Zambian Kwacha against the USD, the prices of fuel ( petrol, diesel & kerosene ) will starting at midnight today be reduced across all Zambian service & filling stations. Again friends, thanks for trusting our party to lead the country !!!
By James Gwati- Zanu PF activists in Watsomba, Thursday disrupted a parliamentary public hearing meeting targeting the local CCC legislator, Trevor Saruwaka.
Sources who attended the meeting said that the Mutasa Central MP escaped unhurt.
The thugs, he said, started singing and sloganeering in the middle of the meeting, causing the halt of the proceedings.
” They came targeting the local Mutasa Central member of Parliament, Hon.Trevor Saruwaka and other several participants. What is worrisome is that the police did not restrain these violent youths,” said the sources.
Yesterday a similar incident happened in Bulawayo, where known Zanu PF thugs disrupted a parliament meeting with the same plan.
This also happened in the eyes of the police, but no one was arrested.
By James Gwati- The Zambian Kwacha, one of the worst in recent years, has stabilized to become the second-performing currency in the world.
This happened only a year after Haikainde Hachilema was voted into office, taking over from Edgar Lungu.
Zambian President Hichilema announced Wednesday, saying they have managed to tame inflation.
He posted on Twitter:
The inflation rate is under control. The Zambian Kwacha has stabilized and is getting stronger against major foreign currencies. Zambia is rising and ultimately the cost of living will be fixed.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has been given the greenlight to forfeit to the State three trucks belonging to former first lady Mrs Grace Mugabe that were brought into Zimbabwe more than 10 years ago without payment of duty after the supplier lied to Zimra that they were only temporarily in the country.
Four South African drivers sent by the supplier to deliver the three trucks were charged with swindling Mrs Mugabe of US$1 million in a truck-deal after she complained to police that the wrong model of truck was delivered. Cassimjee Bilal, Henry Hadebe, Samuel Baloyi and Sydney Sekgobelo, all South Africans, were later granted bail pending trial but jumped bail and returned to South Africa.
NPA applied for the forfeiture of the trucks in June this year but Harare magistrate Ms Barbara Mateko threw out the State application. But on review at the High Court, Justice Pisirayi Kwenda reversed the magistrate’s decision and ordered forfeiture of the three Iveco 440 trucks to the State.
The three trucks were caught in the crossfire between Mrs Mugabe and her former associate, Ping Sung Hsieh, after a US$1 million deal went sour.
In February 2011 Bilal, Radebe, Baloyi and Sekgobela, were hired by Ping to deliver three trucks to Mrs Mugabe’s aides in Harare. Mrs Mugabe had ordered Scania trucks but Ping sent the Iveco trucks, leading Mrs Mugabe through her aide Ms Olga Bungu to file a police report.
Investigations also revealed that the drivers misrepresented to Zimra officials at the Beitbridge that the trucks were on a visit into Zimbabwe, resulting in the customs officer issuing the trucks with temporary import permits. That meant no duty was paid.
The origin of the deal dates back to 2007, when the Mugabe family agreed to buy six haulage trucks from South Africa for $1 million.
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe allegedly transferred the money to Ping’s company in South Africa but the trucks were not delivered.
Finally, on February 18 2011, Ping sent the four drivers to deliver the trucks. They were granted bail after spending two weeks in jail and barred from leaving Zimbabwe before their trial in June the same year, but they all skipped bail. – State Media
A 22-year-old Lupane woman has been arraigned before the courts for allegedly forcing a 14-year-old boy from her village into sexual intercourse.
Lupane magistrate Ndumo Masuku heard that Thobekile Moyo from Mpofu village had turned the juvenile boy, name withheld for ethical reasons, into a sexual partner as she would frequent his place of residence and sometimes ask him to accompany her for a beer drink at the nearby shops.
The sex escapade started in 2020 and the matter only came to light when suspicious villagers and the boy’s family, tracked Moyo’s footprints to the boy’s bedroom recently.
She was not asked to plead to aggravated indecent assault when she appeared before Masuku and was remanded in custody to this Friday.
Moyo was advised to approach the High Court for bail because of the seriousness of the crime.
For the State, Nobukhosi Moyo said Moyo visited the victim’s place of residence sometime in 2020 when she knocked at a bedroom hut where he was sleeping and when he opened, asked him to accompany her to her place of residence.
“The accused asked the complainant to spend the night at her place of residence and threatened to assault him when he initially refused,” said the prosecutor.
The court heard that the boy later agreed to sleep over and Moyo ordered him to remove his clothes and join her in bed whereupon the two had sex multiple times during the night.
The two continued having sex on several occasions on different days and neighbours started suspecting when they saw the two hanging around and visiting bottle stores together.
A report was made to the police when the accused’s footprints were tracked to the boy’s hut recently leading to Moyo’s arrest. -CITE

Time to liberate Zimbabwe has come,” declares the soldier.
BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA | A few weeks ago the world was aghast in shock and utter dismay when it witnessed a virial vedio of the South African Health Official ( Limpopo Province MEC Phophi Ramamathuba savagely abusing a sick and powerless patiant.
In a scene that is reminiscent of hate and zhenophobia, the shameless officer berated a patient from Zimbabwe and wickedly abused her on her sickbed. The behaviour of such a senior government official was deeply depressing and highly flabbergasting.
The ostensible reasons for her melancholic diatribe included the stress that her provincial health system is under, allegedly due to foreigners squeezing out locals. On the vocabulary of the MEC foreigner means Zimbabweans and Mozambicans. Such a bankruptcy of understanding is fed into the pipal you of South Africa who are now going door to door chasing away Zimbabweans accusing them for taking their jobs and their wives.
There is something that is deeply flawed and even hypocritical about the argument that South African ills and misfortunes are the fault of foreigners, particularly Zimbabweans. Scapegoating based on nationality is a vile act and a scar to humanity. This is so particularly where, as in this case, such scapegoating has resulted into etthinic purging in South Africa, in gruesome modern that have not been witnessed elsewhere in the world and in history. This is referencing thrusting petrol-sprinkling tyres around human beings and setting them alight; crushing people’s heads with stones in front of terrified and agonised children and family. Shooting people in cold blood and attacking worshippers at their shrines blaming them for being Zimbabweans.
Let us assume that indeed Zimbabweans were wholly or even significantly responsible for South Africa ‘s failing job markert or its power public services, none of that or more would justify the inhuman, gross and obscene abuse of a patient in the manner that Ms Ramathuba did or at all. There is a place and a time to address illegal immigration issues. That place is not on a sickbed and the timing certainly is not during the sick moments of the patient.
Even if Zimbabwe was in war with South Africa ( which it is not to the best of our knowledge) that is no way to treat its citizens. There are deplomatic communication lines and channels which Ms Ramaphutha could have and should have used. In fact, a few weeks before, the Zimbabweans Foreihn Minister had been in touch with his South African counterpact. Dr Ramaphuta played to the gallery and betrayed the oath of medicine she took. Doctors do not view patients with prejudice. They view each person as a patient and leaves the politics to politicians. The vigilante style exhibited by the MEC and shockingly supported by the president Ramaphosa is shocking and disturbing.
There are two types of treatments under the South African constitution. Firstly there is emergency treatment. Anyone is entitled to this regardless of immigration status, as long as they are in South Africa. Then there is elective treatment. This is whereby people elect or choose as to when and where they would get treatment. Maternity treatment may be an example, barring an emergency delivery.
We must assume, even though it is unclear, that the patient who was abused by Dr Ramathuba was on elective treatment. Even then, the approach was not to abuse her. The approach would have been to treat her and on discharge ensure that mechanisms and processes are triggered and mobilised to force her to pay the medical bill. That is the lawful recourse that is available, not abuse and political gymicking and grand-standing.
Resort to abuse of and savagery against even illegal immigrants will never solve any problems in South Africa. No one is arguing that there are no problems. Nor is anyone condoning any illegal immigration into South Africa. However, this is not even the point here.
The point here is that when a human is lying on a bed in hospital, they have no nationality or status for purposes of treatment. They share one thing with everyone who is ill, which is that they are called are known as patients. The medical profession is blind to colour, language , nationality, status or any human distinction. Its eye must see a sick person in need of care. Dr Ramathuba’s first act of transgression was that she heard a Shona-speaking human being. That is disgraceful of a medical person or of anyone in charge of a health system. She should have heard the common language of patients , which is the cry for treatment rather than the Shona language or any other language for that matter. Patients have only one voice and language: it is the language if pain and distress. Any doctor who hears other voice must get out of the hospital and join vigilantism in the streets.
There has been numerous cases where armed robbers shoot people in the scene of robbery. While they flee the police shoot at, injure and immobilise one or more of them. They call for the ambulance, as they are duty bound to. Beyond a dangerous criminal there may be a guard to that criminal around the cloak in a hospital bed. However, doctors may also be assigned to him round the cloak. The postion here is that looking at that man, the policeman sees a criminal. Looking at the same man, the doctor sees a patient. This is the way it is. Dr Ramathuba should have seen a patient and not an illegal immigrant at a sick bed.
Dr Ramathuba’s gross abuse of the patient and her discriminative behaviour brings the medical profession world-wide into disrepute. The Professionals Health Council in South Africa is the regulatory body governing the profession in SouthAfrica. There is a clear case for Ms Ramathubaba, who is a doctor by profession, to be brought before that body to answer for her vile conduct. This is particularly so because that body should treat all cases fairly , without fear or favour and regardles of the power and status of the offender.
There is a broader concern about Dr Ramathuba’s fortuitous insults of the patient. She is a leader and she must lead by example. If she is not disciplined, South Africans must accept that a door has been opened for nurses, doctors and all medical staff to abuse patients in all hospitals and medical centres up and down the country. This is a monster that Dr Ramathuba has hatched. It will devour her own children and the children of South Africa long after foreigners are out of the picture.
Therefore, while there is a mix of immigration issues and political matters and bi-lateral affairs to be resolved, abusing patients is not only unethical, it is pure wickedness demonic and pure witchcraft.
In a lame justification when Dr Ramathuba was being interviwed by a journalist afterwards, she intimated that the vedio recorded out of context. She also intimated that the patient was given the medical help she needed, which would have been the medical operation. She claimed that the patient was even laughing. The latter excuse is akin to a rapist excusing his behaviour by saying his rape victim appeared to be enjoying it. To confuse medical care with an operation is a mind- staggering exhibition of ignorance. It is particularly worrying when it is coming from a doctor. Care is a holistic package. Caring means caring. It includes , as vital ingredients caring and the show of compassion.
Therefore medical caring is conducted with professionalism, ethics, sensitivity and impeccable sense and show of humanity.
Treating a patient with indignity and insult, as did Dr Ramathuba, is effectively denying them care. Just doing a medical operation when subjecting a patient to inhuman treatment is not caring.
In fact Dr Ramathuba’s behaviour has the potential of placing the lives of patients. The abuse that she dished out on the patient could have spiked her blood pressure; it could have messed up her insulin or coud have wrought all manner of complications in her ailing body. To that extent, Dr Ramathuba could have so easily sent the patient down to her grave.
Finally, I would want to touch on the notion that Zimbabweans are somewhat responsible for the deterioration of public services in South Africa.
It is true that Zimbabweans must enter South Africa lawfully and must abide by the laws of that country .The really demise of South Africans lie in the fact that wealth was never transferred from the small white minority and spread equitable to all. South Africa obtained political independence and is still stuck in a quagmire of economic apartheid. No amount of bashing foreign citizens would mask this. It is something that the South Africans must look in the eye and confont stoically.
What is happening now is that weak South African black politicians, working with the filthy rich white minority owners of South Africa, have invented a Dudula movement. Dudula is essentially a distraction. It is a black-on-black violence. It is a shame and scare on the face of SouthAfrica. Dr Ramaphutha is one of those unwitting or hypocritical politicians who have no appreciation of the underlying and real causes of poverty and inequality in South Africa.
Be that as it may, the relevant regulator must make Dr Ramathuba account for her actions even if her complicit politician bosses let her scot- free.
It is sad that we have people like Hopewell CHIN’ONO and CCC WHO praise South Africa for the humiliation of a fellow Zimbabwean in hospital.
In case one did not know. The poor patient was in for an operation after an accident.
Doctors must not be persuaded by politics. In particular as a doctor you must: Make the care of your patient your first concern. Treat every patient politely and considerately.
Respect patients’ dignity and privacy. Listen to patients and respect their views. Give patients information in a way they can understand.
In this case the minister violated the patient for political gains.
It is only in South Africa that a black African is made to feel that he is a foreigner in his own continent. Good Medical Practice and the Duties of a Doctor, and to their Medical Council’s performance procedures for which they provide the professional underpinning is not measured on migration basis.
The medical staff must not act as immigration officers.
Patients must be able to trust doctors with their lives and health. To justify that trust doctors must show respect for human life and make sure their practice meets the standards expected of them in four domains which are Knowlledge skills and performance.
Doctors must make sure that’ll the care of patients is their first concern. Unlike Rhamathuba doctors must provide a good standard of practice and care. They must keep their professional knowledge and skills up to date.Recognise and work within the limits of your competence. Ramat Ba’s actions exposed her virginity to humanity. Doctors must Take prompt action if they think that patient safety, dignity or comfort is being compromised. Protect and promote the health of patients and the public. They must Treat patients as individuals and respect their dignity. Treat patients politely and considerately.Respect patients’ right to confidentiality.
Work in partnership with patients. Be honest and open and act with integrity.
Never discriminate unfairly against patients or colleagues.
Never abuse your patients’ trust in you or the public’s trust in the profession.
You are personally accountable for your professional practice and must always be prepared to justify your decisions and actions. It is to this end that South africa has to reflect on the institutionalised Xenophobia

By James Gwati- Zambia has announced the reduction of fuel prices owing to the growing economy.
By James Gwati- The Zambian Kwacha, one of the worst in recent years, has stabilized to become the second-performing currency in the world.
This happened only a year after Zambia’s opposition United Party for National Development leader, Hakainde Hichilema, defeated Edgar Lungu of the revolutionary Patriotic Front party and became President.
The celebrated Zambian President Hichilema announced Wednesday, that they had managed to tame inflation.
He posted on Twitter:
The inflation rate is under control. The Zambian Kwacha has stabilized and is getting stronger against major foreign currencies. Zambia is rising and ultimately the cost of living will be fixed.
By James Gwati- Zanu PF activists in Watsomba disrupted a parliamentary public hearing on National Youth Service before targeting the local CCC legislator, Travor Saruwaka .

By- A well-known Zimbabwean businessman Kudzai Nyakutsikwa popularly known as Vlad Duk, in his Johannesburg circles, has committed suicide over debts.
The state media reports that Nyakutsikwa led a ‘FAKE LIFE,’ which ended with him being hounded by loan sharks.
The businessman committed suicide here on Monday and sent shockwaves across the Jozi entertainment scene.
It has emerged, from those close to him, that he lived a life in the fast lane, which was built on heavy borrowing from some loan sharks.
In the end, those who had handed him money were now hounding him, asking for their cash, and leaving him vulnerable.
Reports yesterday claimed things had become so bad he was now surviving on handouts from friends and family.
H-Metro interviewed members of his inner circle, who don’t want to be named for fear of being branded betrayers.
Vlad first came into the limelight around 2010, when he started hosting all-white parties – some of which were covered by H-Metro.
He hosted high-end gigs, which drew the Who Is Who in the South African entertainment industry.
He was branded one of Joburg’s top “mbingas,” although he never publicly declared himself as one.
Instead, he was a very quiet and humble character, who enjoyed sipping his favourite whisky.
One of Vlad’s well-known friends told H-Metro that he had been in a very bad space lately, largely caused by financial and marital problems.
“I have known Vlad from way before the social media frenzy that came into his life. We used to hang out a lot back in the day,” she said.
“I feel he became a victim of social media pressure, as his life had taken a turn for the worst.
“We used to buy some of the labels that he used to wear, like Gucci, cheaply in downtown Joburg.”
She said Vlad’s business was crumbling and he owed a lot of people money.
“Only recently, he was reported to the police and was on the verge of being arrested for fraud.
“He would borrow different sums of money, from different people, and they would give him believing he was a real mbinga.
“He would even borrow money from loan sharks, who were now on his case. I never thought it would get to this.
“The last time we had a drink in Randburg, he was so distraught and resorted to heavy drinking.
“The other day he was so drunk that he even refused to go home and was crying. It is indeed a very sad ending,” said the friend.
Vlad was in his second marriage, after he divorced his first wife, with whom he sired two sons.
He had one child with his second wife.
“There are a lot of lies circulating on social media that he found his wife with a boyfriend.
“That is far from the truth. Vlad was in a financial mess and was now unable to pay rent.
“He moved in with his brother, who stays in Jules, near the Joburg CBD.
“Yes, like in any marriage, couples fight and indeed he would have occasional nasty fights with Jane.
“I hope she will tell the world more,” said the friend.
The friend claimed Jane has Vlad’s suicide letter, which his family are still waiting for.
Details of how he died are still sketchy.
It is suspected that he downed a pesticide in the precincts of Sandarama Lake near Rosettenville on Saturday night.
He had sent an SMS to his wife, informing her that he intended to kill himself.
She then alerted his friends on Sunday and they looked for him for the whole day.
His body was identified on Monday afternoon, at the Hillbrow Pathology Mortuary.
Burial arrangements are yet to be divulged as the family is still awaiting post-mortem results.
There was a war of words in the WhatsApp groups set up to mourn the social scene legend.
Some were blasting Vlad for portraying flamboyance when he was nowhere near being one of the true Rich Boys of Joburg.
Others sympathised with the family’s plight and are willing to contribute to ensure Vlad gets a decent burial. H Metro

Luton Town are evaluating the future of Admiral Muskwe and hoping to make the best decision before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
The 24-year-old was handed his first league start of the campaign in the 2-0 win at Swansea City recently, impressing in his hour on the pitch.
But with the coach having a large pool to chose his forwards from, Muskwe faces stiff competition in getting more game time as the campaign progresses.
The club is now working on whether to keep the former Leicester attacker in his 25-man Championship squad, or loan him out to another team for some regular game time.
Luton have reportedly received a loan offer from League One side Fleetwood Town and the involved parties are still in talks.
The gaffer told the Luton Today newspaper: “It’s evaluating what’s best for him.
“He’ll be a valuable member of our squad, it’s just what game time he has and then you have to balance that against development and improvement.
“If he stays in and around us, he’ll play games, then it’s how many games he plays and we’ll have a decision.
“Would 15-20 games wherever, would that benefit him?
“So it’s all these decisions we have to make.”
Jones added: “Admiral’s really close, we always trust in him.
“We like him, he has something totally different from what we have, it’s just how much are we going to use him?
“We have to be fair to him, to everyone really, and keep everyone moving forward.
“Then, of course, Admiral has to take those opportunities when he gets them.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

On World Sexual Health Day, WHO celebrates every person’s right to sexual wellbeing
How does the World Health Organization (WHO) define sexual health – and what do we bring to this annual, global celebration of sexual health, well-being and rights for all?
From the absence of disease to well-being: the continuum of sexual health
Sexual health is relevant throughout a person’s life, through to adolescence and into older age – not only during their reproductive years.
It is determined by the quality and safety of people’s relationships: with oneself and other individuals, with family and friends, and the society in which we live, including the gender norms that shape our experiences. These relationships are themselves dependent on whether everyone’s human rights related to their sexuality are realised and protected.
WHO’s working definition of sexual health emphasises a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, one that cannot be separated from sexual well-being:
“Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being related to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity.
Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. For sexual health to be attained and maintained, the sexual rights of all persons must be respected, protected and fulfilled.”
What is WHO doing to promote sexual health and well-being?
Enabling all people to achieve sexual health and well-being requires tailoring normative guidance and national programming to meet their specific needs and lived experience: welcoming and inclusive of people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions, sexual characteristics, people living with HIV, and with disability.
“Sexual health is not a fixed state of being, and every person’s needs will change across the life course,” said Ian Askew, Director of the WHO Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research department, including the United Nations Special Research Programme HRP.
“This is why it is crucial for WHO, together with HRP, to undertake a range of activities across this continuum: from support of sexual well-being, to prevention and management of disease.”
WHO and HRP activities include:
education, counselling and care related to sexuality, sexual identity, and sexual relationships
addressing sexual function and psychosexual counselling
promoting positive sexual and psychosocial development
prevention and control of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV
prevention and management of cervical and other cancers of the reproductive system.
Sexual well-being can be conceptualised in various ways, including sexual respect, sexual pleasure, sexual self-esteem and self-determination in one’s sexual life.
Robust, transparent and comparable sexual health-related data are needed to ensure adequate services. WHO and HRP are coordinating a global research programme to better understand people’s sexual practices, behaviours and health outcomes and inform national programming to achieve sexual well-being. WHO and HRP are also exploring whether sexual and reproductive health interventions which incorporate sexual pleasure considerations improve relevant health outcomes.
What next for sexual health and well-being?
Interventions specifically intended to improve sexual well-being are gradually emerging.
A major milestone is the new edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) which has a chapter on sexual health for the first time. By providing the latest evidence-based definitions, WHO is facilitating the diagnosis and appropriate management for a wide variety of conditions related to sexual health. Countries will begin using this chapter from January 2022.
Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) is a curriculum-based process of teaching and learning about the cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of sexuality. WHO recently collaborated with partners, including HRP, to develop guidance for out-of-school CSE programmes that are appropriate and safe for different groups of children and young people. This complements the guidance developed by the United Nations on school-based sexuality education. Both these guidance documents reiterated that sexual activity part of normal and healthy living, as is giving and receiving sexual pleasure.
Another recommendation is for policy-makers to integrate brief sexuality-related communication when possible, a clinical tool for behaviour change which takes a holistic and positive understanding of sexual health and sexuality.
Sadly, this is not everyone’s reality. Many women, girls and gender-diverse persons experience non-consensual and violent sexual activity. WHO and HRP are supporting national efforts around the world to prevent and manage the consequences of all forms of sexual violence.
To eliminate diseases that affect sexual health, WHO is developing new global strategies to address STIs, including HIV – while taking into account the current pandemic-induced health system disruptions.
Addressing challenges in sexual health and well-being
To eliminate diseases that affect sexual health, WHO is developing new global strategies to address sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, while taking into account the current pandemic-induced health system disruptions.
Given the many evidence gaps for achieving universal access to STI/HIV services, WHO is currently prioritising a research agenda for improving the implementation of national STI programmes. This agenda will complement WHO’s leadership in developing innovative point of care tests (POTCs) for quicker and more accurate diagnostic testing, and in specifying the “Global STI Vaccine Roadmap” to guide research and development for new vaccines against STIs.
One particularly pernicious disease associated with sexual activity is cervical cancer. WHO has launched a global strategy to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer, and most recently issued a guideline for screening and treatment of cervical pre-cancer lesions, a key intervention for cancer prevention and control.
A central aspect of being human
Good sexual health is fundamental to the overall health and well-being of individuals, couples and families, and to the social and economic development of communities and countries.
While sexual health and rights and reproductive health and rights are closely linked, crucial aspects of sexual health can be overlooked when grouped under the domain of reproductive health. WHO is committed to identifying and promoting sexual health itself, so that everyone, everywhere is able to fulfil their human rights related to their sexuality and sexual well-being.

The brave soldier accuses Zanu PF of plundering State resources while millions are suffering.

“Our duty is to defend Zimbabwe, not ZANU-PF. We should not be following repressive unconstitutional orders. Let us not protect corrupt politicians.
Time to liberate Zimbabwe has come,” declares the soldier.
The main purpose of the new Marriages Act is to consolidate the law relating to marriages.
The new law shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by the President by notice in the Government Gazette.
It must be highlighted that the age-old distinction between a “5.11 marriage” (former Chapter 37) and a “5.07 marriage” (former registered customary marriage) no longer exists. All marriages will fall under the “5.13” regime.
The main innovations of the law include the criminalization of child marriages and the introduction of a “civil partnership” which is not a marriage per se but is a relationship that gives rise to several consequences in respect of property distribution should it be dissolved. Marriages in Zimbabwe remain out of community of property although this notion of separation is blurred upon dissolution owing to the courts’ approach of pooling the assets of the parties to ensure a just and equitable distribution of property. This piece will highlight some of the key aspects of the Marriages Act.
Minimum age of marriage
The minimum age of marriage is eighteen years. Section 3 of the Marriages Act prohibits any person under the age of eighteen years from entering into a marriage, unregistered customary law union or a civil partnership. It is now a criminal offence for any person (other than the child concerned) to permit, allow, coerce, aid or solemnize the marriage of a child. This new section is in line with section 78(1) of the Constitution which provides that every person who has attained the age of eighteen years has the right to found a family.
Consent to marriage
Each party to a marriage must give his free and full consent to a marriage before it can be solemnized or registered. Section 4 of the Marriages Act provides that no marriage can be solemnized or entered into unless such consent is given.
Recognized marital regimes
Section 5 of the Marriages Act sets out the marital regimes recognized under our law, namely a civil marriage and a customary law marriage. A civil marriage is monogamous meaning that it is the lawful union of two persons to the exclusion of all others and no person may contract any other marriage during the subsistence of a civil marriage. A customary marriage, on the other hand, may be polygamous or potentially polygamous depending on the customary law of the people concerned. Additionally, a customary marriage may be converted into a civil marriage if the husband has no other existing spouse in polygamy.
Section 44 of the Marriages Act recognizes a further species of marriage, namely a qualified civil marriage which is a union between a man and a woman contracted under Islamic rites which can be registered subject to compliance with the provisions of the Act.
Section 5(5) describes all marriages in terms of the Act as being equal. However, the law does not explain how the marriages are considered equal when one requires exclusivity (in principle) and the other does not and how the different proprietary consequences that flow from monogamous and polygamous set ups impact on such “equality”.
Roora or unregistered customary law unions
A lobola ceremony or roora on its own is not recognized by the Marriages Act as a valid marriage. However, section 17 of the Marriages Act requires unregistered customary law unions to be registered within three months of the union with the Registrar of Marriages which would render them potentially polygamous customary marriages upon registration.
That said, there is no sanction for failing to register a roora union.
Upon termination of a roora union, there is nothing that prevents the roora union from being treated as a civil partnership which the same principles being applied to the division of the assets of the parties.
Additionally, the failure to register a customary law union does not affect matters relating to the status, guardianship, custody and rights of succession of the children of such marriage.
Equal rights and obligations during marriage
In terms of section 6 of the Marriages Act, parties to any marriage have equal rights and obligations during the subsistence of the marriage and when the marriage is terminated. The question that arises from this provision is whether or not marriages that allow for multiple spouses including certain customary marriages apply with similar effect to women, which would be an innovation in the law.
Incestuous marriages prohibited
As has always been the case under section 75 of the Criminal Code, incestuous marriages are generally not permitted. Section 7 of the Marriages Act provides that any marriage between relatives within the prescribed degrees of relationship set out in the Criminal Code including parent and child, step-parent and step-child, brother and sister, uncle and niece, aunt and nephew, grand-uncle and grand-niece, grand-aunt and grand-nephew, grand-parent and grand-child and first or second cousins is forbidden (unless the parties concerned did not know that they were related to each other as first or second cousins or they belong to a community governed by customs that do not prohibit marriage between first and second cousins). Moreover, any marriage that was entered into between persons who are related to each other as first and second cousins before the 1st of July 2006 when the Criminal Code came into force remains valid.
Marriage Officers
Under the Marriages Act, only a marriage officer may solemnize a marriage. Magistrates, chiefs, heads of embassies and authorized ministers of religion can act as marriage officers for the purposes of formalizing a marriage.
Marriage banns, objections to marriage and marriage ceremony
The process of formally conducting a marriage ceremony by a marriage officer which has the effect of concluding the marriage contract is known as solemnization. Before a marriage can be solemnized, banns of marriage or a notice of intention to marry must be published or a marriage license must be issued. The purpose of banns is to enable anyone to raise any objection or legal impediment to the marriage prior to the marriage being solemnized so as to prevent marriages that are invalid.
In terms of section 28 of the Marriages Act, any person can raise an objection to a proposed marriage in writing or orally with the person who publishes the marriage banns or the notice to marry. The marriage officer must inquire into the ground of objection. The marriage officer must satisfy him or herself that there is no lawful impediment to the marriage proceeding before proceeding to formalize the marriage. If there is a lawful impediment to the marriage, the marriage officer cannot proceed to solemnize that marriage. A marriage ceremony can be held at any time and in any building or place approved by the marriage officer. The parties to the marriage must be physically present and there must be at least two witnesses of or above the age of eighteen years. Immediately after the marriage is solemnized, the marriage officer must enter the details of the marriage into a marriage register book, give a copy of the marriage certificate to the parties and give the Registrar of Marriages a copy as well.
Civil Partnerships
A civil partnership is a relationship between a man and a woman who are both above the age of eighteen years and have lived together without being legally married. Civil partners must have a relationship as a couple living together on a genuine domestic basis. A civil partnership is not a marriage. However, in the event that the civil partnership is terminated, the Matrimonial Causes Act (which governs the distribution of property upon divorce) shall apply with the necessary changes. In terms of section 41 of the Marriages Act, the circumstances that are considered to decide whether a civil partnership exists include the duration of the relationship, the nature and extent of their common residence, whether a sexual relationship exists, the degree of financial dependence or interdependence and any arrangements for financial support between them, the ownership, use and acquisition of their property, the degree of mutual commitment to a shared life, the care and support of children and the reputation and public aspects of their relationship. However, the exact nature of such a relationship is undefined by the Act as none of these factors is conclusive or a necessary pre-condition for a civil partnership. Its precise nature remains open to interpretation by the courts.
Crucially, section 41(5) of the Act appears to recognize that a civil partnership may exist when a person is legally married to someone else including a monogamous civil marriage. However, a court must not interfere with the rights of a spouse when dividing the assets of civil partners when such a partnership dissolves. This is easier said than done, particularly where the assets of spouses are jointly held. Section 41(6) of the Marriages Act goes on to provide that the dissolution of a civil partnership cannot give rise to a charge of bigamy under the Code. The intention of the legislature here appears to have been that bigamy cannot arise because a civil partnership is not a marriage.
Conclusion
The full import of the new provisions introduced by the Marriages Act remains to be seen as the law is yet to be interpreted by the courts. However, every person would do well to acquaint themselves with the terms and conditions of the marital regime they choose before entering the said marriage so as to be clear on the rights and obligations which flow from it.
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba has urged Zimbabweans to unite in the fight against presecution.
According to Ostallos, Zanu PF antics will not stop the people’s struggle.
Read statement below:
SOLIDARITY IN PRACTICE:
Today ( Tuesday) President Nelson Chamisa and the CCC family spent hours in court with Hon Job Wiwa Sikhala who was denied bail.
16 CCC activists have spent 69 days in a pre trial detention.
We must unite together as a people to call an end to this persecution.
No one is safe as the state has turned against everyone.
We thank everyone who came today in show of solidarity.
This is who we are- we stand shoulder to shoulder in a bid to win Zimbabwe for Change.
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa has challenged Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Zanu PF party to stop using violence to influence votes.
The CCC leader denounced the brutal killing of political opponents by the Zanu PF regime.
“DEAR POLITICIANS; Killing or injuring another is a serious crime not in just per laws of the land but before God.
Violence is a sin before God. God will ask you to account.
Stop using political violence, coercion, terrorism & destroying property for votes.
Stones, machetes, axes and guns in politics is so barbaric,” said President Chamisa.
On Tuesday President spent hours with Zengeza West MP Hon Job Sikhala at the latter’s bail application hearing.
According to President Chamisa, Hon Sikhala has been failed by the judiciary.
Writing on his micro blogging portal, President Chamisa said: “I’ve just been here at the Magistrates Court since 2pm for the #FreeWiwa bail ruling. Bail denied again. This is pure abuse & weaponizing of the law. The #Nyatsime16 detention is oppressive and despotic. The Zimbabwean supreme law makes bail a constitutional right.”
The government owned Zimbabwe United Passengers Company (ZUPCO) has introduced United States dollar fares in what confirms the lack of trust in the local currency which is constantly losing value due to runaway inflation.
According to a ZUPCO schedule effective 1 September 2022, local routes in the range of 1 to 20 kilometres will now cost ZWL$300 or USD0.50 while 30 to 40km will now cost US$1 or ZWL$550 up from ZWL$220 for buses.
1/3 It must be clear that when the Unity Accord was signed, we had nothing in common with Zanu. It was a way of saving people from political vampires who wanted power at all cost, ZAPU chose the sanctity of life ahead of Power
2/3 During the Subsistence of the Unity Accord, the differences did not go away. Zanu continued with its craze of killings, looting and self aggrandizement. In 2008, ZAPU could no longer continue in the marriage of inconvenience and pulled out leaving thieves United with Crooks
3/3 To date, Zanu continues to transgress the cardinal tenets of the struggle. They pollute electoral processes and now patronise people using land. The struggle was so that ALL can ACCESS land. Zanu has reversed this. It is now our patriotic duty to resist Zanu
Alleged ZANU PF activists and suspected State agents violently disrupted the parliamentary public hearing on National Youth Service petition submitted by the National Association of Youths Organisations (NAYO).
The meeting had barely began when dozens of ZANU PF youths started singing and sloganeering.
They targeted Mutasa Central member of Parliament, Hon.Trevor Saruwaka and other participants. The police details at the venue left in a huff allowing the violent thugs free reign which ultimately brought the meeting to a violent and abrupt end.
It is clear that the National Youth Service is a controversial programme being advanced for political reasons and not in the best interest of young people.
Former MDC-T Spokesperson for Harare Province, Fungai Chiposi has resigned from contesting for public office saying he will now mind his own business.
Writing on Twitter yesterday, Chiposi said after contesting twice, he got emotionally and financially drained that he now wants to attend to his family only.
“I have run for office twice. It is an emotionally and financially draining exercise. I know I can give more to my community than any other MP or Councillor but the people believe otherwise. I will not be running again. I will mind my own business and attend to my family,” said Chiposi.
Chiposi together with MDC-T Harare provincial chairperson Zivanai Mhetu were hounded out of the party after they openly told party leader Douglas Mwonzora that going it alone was a recipe for disaster.
This followed the party’s heavy drubbing in the 26 March by-elections where they failed to win a single seat while Zanu PF and newly formed CCC shared all the parliamentary and local authority seats contested.
ZIMBABWE Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has intensified efforts to get a clergyman and 34 church members released from prison, where they have spent close to two months.
52 year-old Kanyenzura Parere, who is a Bishop of Mirirai Jehovha Apostolic Church and is also the leader of Zimbabwe Transformative Party (ZTP), an opposition political party has been detained at Harare Central Remand Prison since he was arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers on 9 July 2022. Parare was apprehended as he marched along Robert Mugabe Way towards Simon Muzenda Street in Harare together with 34 members of his church while singing a gospel song with the lyrics “Emmanuel tisunungureiwo tanzwa ne nhamo” loosely translated to “Emmanuel save us from bondage”.
He was charged with contravening section 7(1)(5) of the Maintenance of Peace and Order (MOPO) Act after he allegedly convened a gathering and led a procession of his church members without notifying the regulating authority, which is ZRP.
In court, prosecutors claimed that Parere and his followers, who are represented by Evans Moyo of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, gathered at Copacabana bus terminus and marched in Harare’s central business district while singing and were intercepted by some ZRP officers as they had not notified law enforcement agents about their protest.
Parere’s trial is scheduled to commence on 7 September 2022 before Harare Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti.
34 of Parere’s political party supporters were charged with criminal nuisance as defined in section 46 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act. Prosecutors alleged that the 34 church members unlawfully acted in a manner which is likely to create a nuisance by walking on the roads and pavements while singing a gospel song with the lyrics “Emmanuel tisunungureiwo tanzwa ne nhamo” and thereby obstructed the free passage and movement of people and vehicles.
The 34 include Simon Goshomi, who is ZTP’s Vice-President, Richard Mhurushoma, the opposition party’s Chairperson, Fortune Chapeyama, who is ZTP’s Secretary-General, Prince Mukozho, Solomon Duwa, Shongai Mushinje, Noah Dabvu, Jasper Muringanidza, Honoured Mutangadura, Sherperd Mutsonhi, Edson Shonhiwa, Chaora Rovesai, Tafadzwa Musere, Tsverukai Harava, Shamiso Majecha, Runia Musere, Margret Chibwana, Sakile Nkomo, Helen Kuudzewe, Liah Munakandafa, Victoria Changadzo, Restar Kunyenzura, Emmanuel Musere, Godfrey Mashava, Givemore Bandera, Pangai Kurehwatira, Edward Mhindu, Leon Mukopfa, Pride Charedzera, Irvin Musenze, Jefta Takaedza, Thomas Zengeya and Felix Zengeya.
Their trial is scheduled to commence on 26 September 2022.
By- Zimbabwean businessman Kudzai Nyakutsikwa popularly known as Vlad Duk in his Johannesburg circles, has committed suicide over debts.
The state media reports that Nyakutsikwa, led a ‘FAKE LIFE,’ which ended with him being hounded by loan sharks.
H Metro
By- The Emerson Mnangagwa administration is using the judiciary to seize the late President Robert Mugabe’s assets.
Through the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the government has authorised the forfeiture of three trucks belonging to former first lady Mrs Grace Mugabe.
NPA claims that the trucks were brought into Zimbabwe more than ten years ago without duty payment after the supplier told Zimra that they were only temporarily in the country.
Four South African drivers sent by the supplier to deliver the three trucks were charged with swindling Mrs Mugabe of US$1 million in a truck deal after she complained to police that the wrong model of truck was delivered.
Cassimjee Bilal, Henry Hadebe, Samuel Baloyi and Sydney Sekgobelo, all South Africans, were later granted bail pending trial, but jumped bail and returned to South Africa.
NPA applied for the forfeiture of the trucks in June this year, but Harare magistrate Ms Barbara Mateko threw out the State application.
In February 2011, Bilal, Radebe, Baloyi and Sekgobela, were hired by Ping to deliver three trucks to Mrs Mugabe’s aides in Harare.
Mrs Mugabe had ordered Scania trucks, but Ping sent the Iveco trucks, leading Mrs Mugabe through her aide Ms Olga Bungu to file a police report.
Investigations also revealed that the drivers misrepresented to Zimra officials at the Beitbridge that the trucks were on a visit ito Zimbabwe, resulting in the customs officer issuing the trucks with temporary import permits. That meant no duty was paid.
The origin of the deal dates back to 2007, when the Mugabe family agreed to buy six haulage trucks from South Africa for $1 million.
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe allegedly transferred the money to Ping’s company in South Africa, but the trucks were not delivered.
Finally, on February 18, 2011, Ping sent the four drivers to deliver the trucks. They were granted bail after spending two weeks in jail and barred from leaving Zimbabwe before their trial in June the same year, but they all skipped bail.

This assertion did not go down well with some youths who tried to shove her.
Another participant, identified as Eric Gono was also attacked.
Some of the activists who were milling outside the meeting‘s venue flocked inside and started causing more mayhem by threatening to beat “sellouts” in the meeting.
“Whether you like it or not, we are going to introduce the NYS. We cannot have youths who denigrate their leaders and the country. That will not happen under our watch,” declared the visibly drunk youths.
CITE managed to track down the two participants and they narrated their ordeal.
“I introduced myself and said I am from Entumbane where there was a base, before I could even finish my sentence a group of about 20 youths disrupted proceedings and advanced towards Eric Gono, the previous speaker, who was also booed while he was making his contribution and started assaulting him before coming turning to me,” said the visible shaken Grace.

By James Gwati- Zanu PF has celebrated the further detention in remand prison of the CCC deputy chairman Job Sikhala.
Sikhala’s other bail bid hit a brick wall Tuesday after Harare regional magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje dismissed his application.
The die-hard opposition politician is facing charges of obstructing or defeating the course of justice.
These trumped-up charges came after he allegedly posted a video on social media demanding justice for the killing of CCc activist Moreblessing Ali in the Nyatsime area in July this year.
Posting on Twitter, Zanu PF said Sikhala must rot in Jail.
By-South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has defended the underfire medical doctor Phophi Ramathuba after she remarked that foreigners were overburdening the country’s health sector.
Ramathuba, who is a Member of the Executive (MEC) of health for Limpopo Province, told a bedridden Zimbabwean patient that she wouldn’t be discharged due to outstanding medical bills.
She also said that South Africa’s medical facilities were meant for South Africans.
The remarks attracted varying responses from people of all walks of life, with fellow medical practitioners saying Ramathuba had violated the profession’s ethics.
Ramaphosa Tuesday told Parliament that he agrees with Ramathuba that Zimbabweans flocking to South Africa for Health care were worsening the country’s health crisis. He said:
The MEC of health in Limpopo has raised an important issue how service provision is affected by migration, that is an important issue that is on the top of minds of many South Africans and indeed it is part and parcel of having to deal with the whole issue of a framework around migration and not only on our continent but elsewhere as people move around the world.
One of the issues they are asked is are you able to make provision for any service that might have to be offered to you in any shape or form so that is part of that whole process of having to deal with migration so the MEC has raised an important issue which is currently under debate.
Of course she raised it in the presence of a patient and I guess such an important issue could have been raised another way but that as it may, it has been raised and it has evoked debate not only in our country but also in Zimbabwe and also the rest of the continent.
It is a matter that is going to enjoy quite a lot of attendance even as we meet at head of states level to discuss what precisely the movement of people should really entail, what should accompany that in the form of services, health issues criminality and the rule of law, so all those matters are matters that are germane to the whole process of migration.

Tinashe Sambiri|Team Pachedu has exposed how the Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa stole the 2018 Presidential plebiscite.

“After careful analysis of 2018 elections, without intimidation, assisted voters, ballot stuffing in Mash Central ED Mnangagwa scored less than 37% of total vote.

“@ZECzim is sabotaging the new voters drive.

By James Gwati-South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa said he agreed with Member of the Executive (MEC) of health for Limpopo Province, Dr Phophi Ramathuba that Zimbabweans were overburdening the country’s health sector.
Ramathuba, last week told a bedridden Zimbabwean patient that she wouldn’t be discharged due to outstanding medical bills.
Big Data, on certain occasions, can provide excellent allies for effectively organizing one’s communication strategy, especially if it is a wide-ranging plan that aims to gallivant into a certain multitude of users, or otherwise capture their attention quickly and incisively.
Once the customer profiles to whom one’s communicative messages should be targeted have been identified, the real challenge, for brands, is to carefully choose the platform in which to convey the content, but also to consistently organize a message (or a series of messages) also in its external aspects, such as textual parts, photographs or videos, or all the other elements that could contribute to liven up the online communication.
A common mistake, still made by many companies in every corner of the world, is to shoot in the dark, avoiding choosing specific targets and addressing their communication campaigns to an extremely varied audience, as if they hoped to get concrete results from having reached more people.
Winning strategies
This strategy almost never proves successful: first of all, because it is too simple, and its elaboration required no effort of any kind, neither creative nor conceptual. Secondly, the very fact of hoping that one’s communication message will impress and strike to the heart a large number of people, selected at random and without any criteria, is pure utopia.
At the time of its inception, the content that will animate your online communication already contains within itself the potential to be positively received by a certain kind of audience, your target audience, and it is only to them that it should be addressed. For these reasons, in this day and age, the careful study of your target audience and its behavioral habits (not only purchasing habits) becomes of primary importance in the strategic setting of your communication plan, and should indeed be the fundamental premise for any subsequent action with which you intend to achieve your goals.
Your target audience should also be identified precisely through the support of Big Data, which can provide very useful insights into people’s online behaviors, preferences and tastes, as well as, of course, information about their age, gender and social status.
Someone who had just launched a business in Zimbabwe, for example, or even an established brand who wanted to turn their online communication around, should certainly consult data on people’s social media use and draw all the necessary conclusions. The case of Zimbabwe is quite peculiar, because among the social media most loved by the digital community (after Facebook) seems to be Twitter, a tool that in Western countries is routinely used as a powerful tool at the disposal of public relations practitioners, but also to strengthen brand reputation as a whole.
In Zimbabwe, where people like to discuss politics and different battles carried out by the population, including in terms of human rights, a social media where real content can still be found will undoubtedly be much more successful than Instagram or TikTok, and will therefore also have to be exploited by companies to deliver very specific messages, without being afraid to express their point of view, especially when it comes to ethical issues or social issues. By inserting itself into the flow of discussions already initiated by users-and favored by Twitter’s structure-the brand will position itself extremely effectively, and will quickly achieve excellent results.
The quality of content
Work on the creation of quality content is undoubtedly important, it is almost always decisive, but companies should also pay the same attention to the choice of recipients to whom to address them: on the latter choice will depend not only the effectiveness of a single communication plan, but also the overall reputation of the brand in the short and medium term.
One sector that has certainly learned how to create specific content aimed at a certain category of users is undoubtedly that of online gambling: some of the best online portals, in addition to offering wide assortments of games for all tastes and exclusive casino bonuses, in fact also offer guides and honest reviews that concretely help each user at every stage of the game, from registration to making a deposit, up to the actual game. This content, created by a team of experts at the site’s disposal, contributes greatly to enriching the gaming offerings of these portals, making them even more unique and distinctive.
Big Data can change a company’s fortunes forever, setting a completely different tone for its communication (especially on social media).
By James Gwati- Zanu PF has celebrated the further detention in remand prison on the CCC deputy chairman Job Sikhala.
Harare regional magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje dismissed Tuesday dismissed Sikhala’s application for bond on changed circumstances.
He is charged with obstructing or defeating the course of justice after allegedly posting a video on social media demanding justice for the killing of CCc activist Moreblessing Ali in the Nyatsime area in July this year.
Posting on Twitter, Zanu PF said Sikhala must rot in Jail.
By James Gwati- South African President Cyril Ramphosa has defended Limpopo Health provincial minister Dr Phophi Ramathuba’s xenophobic rants to an ailing Zimbabwean patient.
On Tuesday, Ramaphosa said Dr Ramathuba was right to answer questions from parliament virtually.
He said: What she said was an issue which has sparked debate here in South Africa, in Zimbabwe and the whole region, and it’s an issue which our people have also been complaining about. Now that she said it, we will discuss it at a head of the state level and see what is needed on our migration policies,” he said without condemning Dr Ramathuba.
The Zimbabwean South African embassy has since made an official complaint against the MEC.
In a statement, the Zimbabwean Embassy said there are platforms for engagement that Ramathuba should have used “for the good of our two countries.” Reads the statement:
The Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Pretoria watched with shock and disbelief the video (images) in which the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) of Health Limpopo Province, spoke to a Zimbabwean national who happened to be a patient in a hospital in the province. The Embassy has been in contact with the government of South Africa. through the Department of International Relations and Cooperation. to who it has conveyed the concerns of the government of Zimbabwe on the comments made by the MEC.
By-James Gwati- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has denied having arrested the former Deputy Prime Minister, Thokozani Khupe, but admitted that the politician visited the police station in Plumtree.
In a statement Tuesday, ZRP said the reports that Khupe was arrested were false:
The Zimbabwe Republic Police dismisses a story circulating on Newsdzezimbabwe.co.uk, CITE and other social media platforms linked to Citizen Coalition for Change Bulawayo’s Swithern Chirowodza that Dr. Thokozani Khupe and other CCC activists were arrested as totally false.
The Police has not effected any arrest on Khupe and associates. The false story is dismissed with the contempt it deserves. It is totally wrong for politicians to claim arrest by Zimbabwe Republic Police in false circumstances.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police, in actual fact impounded a South African registered Toyota Hilux registration number JW15PT GP belonging to Joubert Maplanka (64) for failure to produce a valid Temporary Import Permit at the 98km peg along Bulawayo- Plumtree Road.
The vehicle has been in Zimbabwe since July 2021 and the TIP is no longer valid. Thokozani Khupe later came aboard a different vehicle and was not arrested at all.
We continue to urge journalists to verify information obtained from purported reliable sources before publishing such stories.

Tino Kadewere’s move to Spanish side Real Mallorca will be well-received by those who love and wish him well.
The lanker striker, despite the harsh criticism directed at him for illogical reasons which have nothing to do with football, continues to break new ground.
He became the first ever Zimbabwean player to join a LaLiga team, when he inked a one-year loan deal at Mallorca yesterday.
Wait, someone just moved to LaLiga and he is the first to do so in the history of a country and some are still convinced he is on a downswing?
At 26, one doesn’t need to be a genius to understand that Kadewere still has a lot to offer in his career.
His idol, French superstar Karim Benzema, had to wait until he was 34 years of age to reach his full potential.
Kadewere simply needs game-time at Palma-based side, something which he was now lacking at Olympique Lyon.
The only difference between the current Kadewere and the one who scored 10 goals for Les Gones in his debut campaign, is confidence level.
Tino might turn out to be a good reinforcement for the Javier Aguirre-coached side and he can provide healthy competition to Kosovanian international Vedat Muriqi, who has scored two of the team’s three goals this season.
Famba Tino, Come On Tino, Vamos . – Soccer24 Zimbabwe
Tinotenda Kadewere has completed his loan transfer to La Liga side Mallorca from Lyon.
The Zimbabwean striker will be on loan at the Spanish club for the entire 2022/23 season.
The deal has a buy option for Mallorca to be exercised at the end of the campaign.
The Warriors international will wear shirt number 17.
A statement by La Liga team reads: “RCD Mallorca and Olympique de Lyon have agreed the loan with option to buy footballer Tino Kadewere until the end of the season.”
Speaking after completing the deal, Kadewere said: “To be honest, I am very excited, happy and proud. It is a unique moment for me.”
He added: “I’ve been watching the last few games and I really like the way the team plays. I’m a team player. A footballer who always tries to help the team, always tries to do what’s best for the group.”
Kadewere becomes the first Zimbabwean to sign with a La Liga club.
He also joins Warriors teammate Martin Mapisa in Spain who plays in the third tier.
The transfer, meanwhile, marks the player’s fourth club in Europe after playing for Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish top-flight, Le Havre in the Ligue 2 and Lyon.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

President Cyril Ramaphisa has defended MEC of Limpopo @PhophiRamathuba after her statement in relation to Zimbabweans flocking to South Africa for Health care while the country is struggling to deliver services to SA citizens.
Ramaphosa says Heads of State and Government in Africa must discuss the issues raised by Limpopo MEC of Health
Ramaphosa says Limpopo MEC of Health @PhophiRamathuba has raised important issues in relation to immigration and the ability of the State to deliver service to South Africans.
SOURCE: Sophie Mokoena
The Pan-African Parliament along with the SA Medical Council, have echoed the growing list of organisations in slamming Limpopo Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, for her conduct.
The MEC had embarrassed a bedridden patient from Zimbabwe at a hospital in Bela Bela, Limpopo, last week.
PAP members said such conduct was not consistent with the spirit of Pan-Africanism and regional integration efforts being pursued by African leaders.
In an interview, PAP vice-president for Women’s caucus and Malawian legislator, Mrs Victoria Kingstone, described Dr Ramathuba’s conduct as unbecoming, particularly coming from a woman, as reported by “Bulawayo24 News”.
“It’s so unfortunate, this is a female doctor ill-treating a patient. We are one Africa, whichever country one belongs to. When it comes to humanitarian issues we should behave as human beings,” she said.
“I am attending a PAP session, and I might fall sick and might need medical assistance here. Let’s treat all human beings whether they are in a foreign country or not, equally. I condemn strongly the behaviour shown by that doctor, it is unacceptable.”
South African Government response
The South African government last week said that its department doesn’t have the full context of the video conversation between the MEC and the patient, which makes it difficult to draw a conclusion.
“We acknowledge that the public healthcare system is struggling in some areas to meet the healthcare needs of the citizens and reduce the backlogs due to an unpredictably high number of undocumented migrants from neighbouring countries seeking healthcare service in the country, other than asylum-seekers and refugees.
“This issue is one of the subjects being discussed during bilateral and multilateral meetings at SADC level in order to find a long lasting solution.
“Limpopo Province is one of the affected provinces, and despite these challenges, the healthcare workers must ensure that they maintain a high moral obligation and standards in their work in line with the Hippocratic Oath, together with the National Health Act and the Refugee Act of South Africa.“
The South African government said but that does not mean all services are free, “because only primary healthcare services are provided free of charge, but higher levels of care are subject to a fee”.
“The Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla is currently out of the country, and the Acting Minister of Health, Angie Motshekga, has instructed the department to gather all necessary information which will enable her to provide Dr Phaahla with a full report on his return.”

Tinashe Sambiri|Zanu PF won the Gokwe-Kabuyuni by-election through terror and massive manipulation of voters, according to CCC.
On Monday CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba commended citizens in Gokwe for showing determination and resilience in the wake of rampant intimidation.
Below is Siziba’s statement:
Thank you the brave and best of Gokwe-Kabuyuni
The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) family is humbled and inspired by the show of brave support for our candidate, Mr. Costin Muguti, in the recently held by-elections for the Gokwe-Kabuyuni constituency.
We are grateful for the 4 915 people of GOKWE KABUYUNI who,
against all odds, voted for our candidate, representing over 44% of the electorate.
It is encouraging as a party that we are closing the gap from the 2018 elections when the opposition then garnered 29% of the vote.
We had a good fight and for us this is a learning curve as we approach the watershed 2023 General Elections.
Gaining rural ground against nearly insurmountable odds shows that the message of change is gaining ground in rural communities. It is further proof that CCC is the real alternative and no amount of electoral chicanery will dampen the mood of change sweeping across the nation.
We got 4 915 votes in the midst of fear, thousands of assisted voters and abuse of traditional leaders by the dictatorship.
As a progressive party we must deal
decisively with the abuse of traditional leaders and the assisted voters provision by Zanu pf.
To this end electoral reforms remain the only solution to these electoral malpractices and we will mount a national, regional and international effort to push for all necessary reforms.
Zanu PF won on a margin of terror and a menu of manipulation consisting of violence, banning the alternative from campaigning, brazen vote buying and a captured ZEC.
The elections Commission long failed the nation and must be disbanded and in this election it failed to protect the integrity of the vote by allowing a range of malpractices to happen without any repercussions for Zanu PF. In any free, fair and credible contest the Zanu PF candidate should have disqualified for egregious infractions of the electoral law but the commission did nothing.
As we move foward, to counter the machinations of the dictatorship in our rural hinterland, Operation bull mango will take centre stage. Remain yellow at heart and green to the outsider.
Our pledge to the people of Zimbabwe is that change is here and come 2023 we must bring an end to the moribund dictatorship which has stolen our freedoms, prosperity, future and dignity as a people.
For and on behalf of the Citizens
Always

The Zimbabwe Online Content Creators (ZOCC) notes with serious concern and condemns in the strongest terms the brutal attack of journalists in Gokwe recently and generally the continuing attacks on journalists and media freedom in Zimbabwe.
Four journalists suffered grave bodily harm and psychological trauma on August 25 when Zanu PF members attacked them with booted legs and clenched fists for taking pictures and videos of what was happening in Gokwe.
The rowdy party members who had beaten up a police officer in charge a day prior, were indiscriminately attacking bystanders around Chitekete shopping centre in Gokwe.
The party members were driving in a well-orchestrated party vehicle convoy of more than 20 marked and unmarked 4×4 trucks pounced on the journalists after they recorded their unusual activity and movement around the centre.
The irate party members blamed the journalists for recording the activity and told them to mind their own business after assaulting them.
The remote Gokwe shopping growth point resembled a war zone area as scandidates where mopping up their campaigns for the Saturday By-Elections, with a tense environment setting the tone.
Journalists Toneo Rutsito, Tongai Mwenje, Pellagia Mpurwa and a media intern, Chelsea Mashayamombe were left for dead on the tarmac after being beaten up indiscriminately while the whole shopping centre watched in awe.
Pelagia was left unconscious, Toneo lost his tooth, Tongai suffered a cut on his face while Chelsea was left bruised.
A man who identified himself as a state security officer travelling in the vehicle with the District Coordinating Councillor offered the journalists assistance and consolation.
The vehicles were escorting government ministers to the venue namely, Larry Mavhima the minister for provincial affairs in midlands and and Mike Bimha, the Minister of State for Industry and Commerce who is also the Zanu Pf commissar .
Notably none of the vehicles had the usual rowdy party supporter carried on the back of the trucks, but all delegates comfortably sat, the same who descended upon journalists.
Suspected driver for Gokwe aspring MP, Spencer Tshuma joined some two identified ladies to beat up female journalist before ransacking the vehicles and took away mobile phones and broadcast equipment.
A police report has since been made at the Chitekete police post with RRB Number 5075130.
As Online Content Creators, we expect the Police service to conduct itself professionally and make arrests of the attackers who are well known by their organizers.
In the interest of media freedoms and rights of journalists, ZOCC further takes note of the deteriorating environment for safety of journalists in Zimbabwe and calls on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to be accountable and restrain his party members from engaging in unprovoked attacks against journalists and other citizens.
As the fourth Estate, the media remains a vital cog in holding power to account and must enjoy unfettered access to ports of information without fearing for their personal security.
The incidences in Gokwe, must never be repeated should the state and media continue to enjoy a cordial relationship.
Journalism is not a crime, and should thus be treated with the respect it deserves.
We are closely following up on the case with the leads and expecting the government to swiftly act accordingly as per the law dictates.

Water is life!!! Zimbabwe’s taps have now run dry and Zimbabwe’s local authorities are no longer providing piped water which is a human right, residents are now relying on drilled borehole water and even His Excellency, the President of Zimbabwe has introduced what is now called the Presidential Borehole Scheme, whose role is to provide borehole water for both urban and rural communities.
Scammers have now seized this opportunity as more and more desperate Zimbabweans seeking borehole drilling services have raised alarm over borehole drilling scams where conmen are fronting as company owners, company agents stealing thousands of dollars for services that they will never provide.
The conmen will advertise on the internet, social media platforms, emails or even put adverts in the newspapers. An ordinary Zimbabwean is attracted to cheap boreholes on the internet with some charging as little as US$500 for a 40 meter pegged hole and US$900 for 80+ meters inclusive of other additional charges such as sitting fees.
These conmen are always on these platforms to pounce on those who fall for their trick. Their customer service is second to none and their social media response is so convincing that anyone will pay upon request.
They even go to the extent of requesting their client to pay the first half payment through a mobile payment service, at a rate that is agreed with the company and will advise that the other fifty percent be settled when the drillers come to the drilling site.
Once they receive the payment you will never hear from the company again.
Some of these conmen have gone a step further. They will approach a properly registered drilling company in the area where a request for a borehole is required.
They will then advise the drilling company that they require a borehole and drive the rig to the drilling site.
Upon arrival they will demand their full payment before the job, which will be paid away from the rig driver. They will then advise their client that they need to top-up the rig with diesel at a nearby garage.
They will then advise the rig driver to follow them and that will be the end of the deal.
These scammers have become so common that it is advisable to use some of Zimbabwe’s known borehole drillers.
It is now important to visit the company website, their physical premises and meet the employees as a means of knowing who the client is dealing with.
Do not fall for these scammers who use drillers that have websites, emails, social media presence and have physical offices that one can visit.

The Warriors forward is looking forward to a successful campaign in Spain after completing his transfer from the French giants
Zimbabwe forward Tino Kadewere is ‘proud’ to have signed for La Liga side Real Mallorca and is keen to help the club succeed after joining from French club Olympique Lyonnais.
Kadewere joins Mallorca on a season-long loan, with an option to buy, ending his two-and-a-half-year stay with Lyon who he signed for in January 2020 before spending the rest of the 2019-20 campaign at Le Havre after which he linked up with the French giants.
The striker managed 15 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon last season, scoring one goal but is looking forward to a more successful outing in Spain.
“To be honest, I am very excited, happy and proud. It is a unique moment for me,” Kadewere said via a club statement announcing his arrival.

“I’ve been watching the last few games and I really like the way the team plays. I’m a team player. A footballer who always tries to help the team, always tries to do what’s best for the group,” he added.
The striker managed 48 Ligue 1 and five Europa League games for Lyon, scoring 11 goals.
Kadewere joined Lyon from Ligue 2 side Le Havre where he scored 20 goals in 24 games, having signed for the club from Swedish side Djurgarden for a deal reported at $2.5 million.
The Zimbabwean is Mallorca’s sixth signing this summer as they hope to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle like last season where they finished 16th in La Liga with 39 points, just one above the drop zone.
Mallorca have had an impressive start to the season by their standards, having collected four points from their opening three games, following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano that was preceded by a 2-1 loss to Real Betis and a barren draw against Athletic Bilbao.
The Balearic Islands side is looking for some firepower following last season’s struggles that saw Medat Muriqi and Salva Sevilla end as joint top scorers with just five goals each.
Muriqi has already netted twice this season and the Zimbabwean will be required to share the goalscoring burden with him going forward. The 26-year-old has 19 caps for Zimbabwe and has scored three goals for the Warriors.

ON International Day in Support of Victims of Enforced Disappearances, Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) calls for a full stop to the egregious crime of enforced disappearances in Zimbabwe.
ZLHR calls upon the public to remember and reflect on the lives of victims and survivors of enforced disappearances as well as the families of the victims and the communities which are disrupted by this gross violation of human rights.
International Day in Support of Victims of Enforced Disappearances is commemorated annually on 30 August in order to reflect on the fate and lives of all victims of enforced disappearances across the globe. It is an opportunity for citizens all over the world to lobby their respective governments to desist from the practice of enforced disappearances.
According to the United Nations Declaration on the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, an enforced disappearance is the abduction, arrest and detention of a person against their will by government officials or individuals acting on behalf of the government. An enforced disappearance also occurs when the government directly or indirectly consents or acquiesces to the abduction, arrest or detention of persons by private individuals. An enforced disappearance is usually followed by the state’s refusal to disclose the whereabouts of the disappeared persons or a refusal to acknowledge the disappearance. This refusal to acknowledge the disappearances effectively deprives the disappeared any protection of the law.
International law considers an enforced disappearance to be a gross violation of human rights and a crime against humanity, especially when it is committed as part of an organised plan by ruling authorities. The victims of enforced disappearances are often deprived of their fundamental human rights by their captors. Such fundamental rights include the right to human dignity, right to personal liberty and security of the person, the right to health, the right not to be subjected to torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and the right to life, in circumstances where the victims are killed by their captors.
International law obliges all States, including Zimbabwe, to protect and uphold everyone’s fundamental rights. States will, therefore, be in flagrant violation of international law in circumstances where they commit, support or acquiesce to enforced disappearances.
Enforced disappearances also adversely affect the families and friends of the victims, who often worry about the predicament of their disappeared loved ones. The families and friends of the victims usually go on for years without knowing the fate of victims and they seldom obtain the help they need from authorities when they search for answers about the disappeared persons.
In Zimbabwe, there has been a worrying pattern of enforced disappearances. The victims of enforced disappearances in the country have often been human rights defenders, community activists, members of opposition political parties and journalists. On many occasions, the victims are abducted by suspected state agents and held incommunicado. Some of the victims have not been found to this day and their fate remains uncertain. Government has often refused to acknowledge the disappearances and even dismissed them as staged events.
On International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, ZLHR calls upon governments to end the culture of impunity in cases of enforced disappearances perpetrated by state actors or their agents. ZLHR urges the authorities to seriously consider and investigate all reports of enforced disappearances, in line with their constitutional obligation to uphold the fundamental rights of all citizens.
In particular, the authorities have an obligation to uphold everyone’s right not to be deprived of one’s liberty without just cause, in terms of section 49(1) of the Constitution. Moreover, the Constitution also obliges government to protect and uphold everyone’s right to human dignity and right not to be subjected to torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment as provided in section 51 and section 53 of the Constitution respectively.
The Zimbabwean government must also take necessary action to ratify the United Nations International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance. Ratification of this Convention is one of the recommendations that has been made to Zimbabwe by United Nations member states, during the review of Zimbabwe’s human rights record following the Human Rights Council-led, Universal Periodic Review mechanism. This recommendation has been made by United Nations members such as Costa Rica, Netherlands, Senegal and Djibouti. Regrettably, the government of Zimbabwe has merely noted this recommendation and not committed to take it up.
On International Day in Support of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, ZLHR calls upon;
· Members of the public to demand an end to enforced disappearances by state actors and their agents;
· The public to remember and reflect on the lives of victims of enforced disappearances, the families of the victims and the communities which are disrupted by this gross violation of human rights;
· The Zimbabwean authorities to cease and desist from the practice of enforced disappearances;
· The authorities to seriously consider and investigate all reports of enforced disappearances across the country;
· The authorities to comply with their obligations, under the Constitution and international law, by holding all perpetrators of enforced disappearances accountable for their despicable crimes.
· The government of Zimbabwe to ratify and domesticate the United Nations International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.
