Mutsvangwa Gloats Over CCC Crisis

State media

Christopher Mutsvangwa, ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, asserted that Nelson Chamisa’s adoption of strategic ambiguity within the former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led to his downfall.

The embattled leader recently submitted his resignation, prompting Mutsvangwa to comment on the situation during a press conference at the Party Headquarters.

Mutsvangwa emphasized that Chamisa’s use of strategic ambiguity served as a smokescreen for implementing dictatorial tendencies, ultimately resulting in a loss of control over CCC.

According to Mutsvangwa, this approach backfired, forcing Chamisa’s resignation due to an inability to maintain authority within the opposition party.”

Strategic ambiguity was employed by Chamisa to cover up dictatorial tendencies and power abuse within CCC. Its repercussions have now compelled him to resign, given the increasing inability to control the opposition.

Contradictions have surfaced within the party, highlighting the consequences of not establishing solid structures.

Chamisa’s aversion to a structured party has caught up with him; human societies thrive on organizational frameworks,” remarked Mutsvangwa.

Sikhala To Speak On Way Forward

Tinashe Sambiri

Opposition politician Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala wasted no time in declaring that the people’s struggle continues unabated, just moments after his release from prison yesterday, where he spent an arduous 600 days behind bars.

Sikhala, known for his versatility in politics, alongside Hon Godfrey Karakadzai Sithole, faced conviction for inciting public violence in Nyatsime following the brutal murder of Citizens Coalition for Change activist Moreblessing Ali.

Sikhala’s two-year sentence was wholly suspended, marking a significant turn of events.

Addressing the media immediately after regaining his freedom, Sikhala shared his sentiments on the circumstances surrounding his release:

“These people released me in the thick of the night, receiving instructions from their bosses. I am inspired to continue fighting for change; there is no turning back on the people’s struggle.”

Acknowledging the internal discord within the Citizens Coalition for Change, Sikhala expressed the need for reflection:

“I need time to sit down and reflect on what has been going on. The struggle is not about positions; what we need is a constructive way forward.

I shall address the nation on the way forward.”

Sikhala’s swift response and commitment to the ongoing fight for change indicate a resilient spirit.

As he emerges from incarceration, his focus on the broader goals of the people’s struggle, coupled with a call for a constructive path forward, emphasizes the importance of unity and purpose within the opposition movement.

The nation now eagerly awaits Sikhala’s forthcoming address, anticipating insights into the strategy and direction the opposition will take in the aftermath of recent developments.

The dynamics within the Citizens Coalition for Change and the broader political landscape of Zimbabwe remain in flux, with the actions and statements of key figures like Sikhala shaping the trajectory of the nation’s political future.

Government Claims Credit for Acquiring Harare City Council Tractors

The central government has played a pivotal role in securing over 50 tractors from Belarus for Harare’s refuse collection efforts.

Aligned with the Operation Chenesa Harare initiative, spearheaded by the government, this procurement aims to address the mounting issue of uncollected garbage in the capital.

Mayor
Councillor Jacob Mafume, commissioning 31 of the 52 tractors obtained through the government’s collaboration with Belarus, expressed commitment to complementing national development efforts.

He emphasized the collaborative nature of the work between the city council and the government, pledging ongoing cooperation to restore Harare’s status as the “Sunshine City.”

Bison Agro Machinery CEO Mr Leanid Pinchuk assured that the tractors’ kits are locally available, streamlining repair and maintenance processes with workshops and trained personnel based in Zimbabwe.

This initiative aligns with the government’s successful Operation Chenesa Harare, resulting in the effective clearance of waste dumps across the capital.

The ruling ZANU PF party has also embraced this effort, extending it to grassroots levels, as seen in Harare West constituency’s Ward 16.Residents expressed enthusiasm for President’s leadership in revitalizing Harare’s cleanliness, citing the positive impact on their communities.

ZANU PF Ward 16 Aspiring Candidate, Arnold Kudakwashe Mhembere, acknowledged the President’s vision in spearheading clean-up campaigns nationwide and took the initiative to the grassroots level.

The government’s commitment extends to a sustainable clean cities program, addressing hygienic conditions and tackling the challenge of waste dumps, particularly in response to the increased incidence of cholera cases.

We Exist To Win Polls – Zanu PF

State media

Obert Mpofu, the Secretary General of ZANU PF, emphasized that the party’s primary purpose is to win elections during the Policy and Coordinating meeting at the Party headquarters this Monday.

Mpofu stated, “ZANU PF, as a political party, exists to win elections.

I urge comrades to continue their hard work to ensure that we attain as many seats as possible.”

Reflecting on recent developments, Mpofu mentioned, “This past week has been interesting and eventful. There are reports of Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the CCC, resigning from his own party, and rumors suggest his loyalists are leaving Parliament, potentially triggering by-elections.

We await the outcome and full implications of Chamisa’s decision, closely monitoring the situation.”

ZANU PF Spokesperson Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa added his perspective, asserting that CCC has lost momentum, riding on the ZCTU, a creation of ZANU PF.

Mutsvangwa concluded, “It’s time for Chamisa to realize that his game is up. They have run out of steam and lost their way, especially with a man who was a 100-meter runner. They have thrown in the towel.”

Mavaza Says: “Chamisa Suffocating in a Blame Game”

By Dr. Masimba Mavaza | The failure and inaction of the opposition have become increasingly common in Zimbabwe’s political system. Much of this political demise stems from poor planning, as seen in the short lifespan of the CCC. Surprisingly, CCC blames these failures on ZANU PF, even when evidence suggests otherwise. This reveals a tendency within CCC to disregard information that contradicts their beliefs or challenges their idolized leader, Chamisa. Idolizing Chamisa is not only repugnant but also detrimental.

The opposition’s failures are an undeniable reality in our political system and have been a confusing topic in Zimbabwe’s opposition politics. Recent examples include Chamisa’s inadequate response to Hurricane Tshabangu, the failure to develop policy, establish a constitution, and address societal issues. Typically, people blame the more successful party for these failures; in this case, ZANU PF, which is gaining traction while the opposition, led by Chamisa, blames their rivals.

Chamisa’s political career has been marked by this blame game. Being a responsible politician means acknowledging the paradox of democratic representation: being equal to other citizens yet part of a small, power-holding elite; standing both with and above fellow citizens.

Chamisa’s resignation left his followers confused. The greatest shock came to Job Sikhala, who found himself without a party, leader, or supporters upon leaving prison. Aware of his uncertain position in Chamisa’s new party and suspicious of his friends involved in the Tshabangu debacle, Sikhala quickly joined the blame game to remain relevant.

Blame games are distinct political events that emerge from routine processes, offering insights into how democracies function under pressure. Politicians often prioritize blaming others for unpopular actions due to voters’ ‘negativity bias’: a tendency to focus more on losses than gains. This leads to strategies like agenda limitation, scapegoating, and defection, affecting policy decisions and leading to a loss of discretion.

Chamisa’s loss of consensus shows a detachment from traditional ideologies. In this interregnum, where the old is dying and the new cannot be born, various troubling symptoms emerge.

The release of Job Sikhala further complicates matters for the CCC. Chamisa’s departure leaves a significant gap, with only Fadzayi Mahere boldly following him. Sikhala’s release, while seen as heroic by some, presents a challenge for the CCC.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF continues its work, serving the nation amidst this turmoil.

Timba To Lead Chamisa Come-Back Negotiations

By Political Correspondent – Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has appointed an administrative committee that would steer the party while negotiating the return of Nelson Chamisa.

Jameson Timba has been appointed to chair the committee, which comprises other senior party members like Lesley Mkurazhizha, Ralf Magunje, Gideon Shoko, David Chimini, Prince Dubeko-Sibanda, Morgan Ncube, Gondongwe, Susan Matsunaga, Josiah Makombe, and Maggie Chakabuda.

A faction aligned with Chamisa announced Tuesday.

CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi asserted their determination not to surrender the party to Sengezo Tshabangu.

“In that regard, the CNA resolved never to surrender the struggle to Zanu PF and its cronies and will do everything possible to defend the people’s struggle and citizens’ interests, including court cases, illegal recalls and impostors, political arrests, the position of our deployees in councils and Parliament, shrinking democratic space, economic challenges, illegitimacy, and many others,” Mkwananzi stated.

Sikhala Drops Bombshell, Opposition Did Nothing To Secure My Freedom

Neither of the current protagonists in the quarrel and conflict within the opposition ranks did absolutely nothing (anything) about me when I was under incarceration, so there is nothing much that would interest me in their conflict, these are the people who neglected me, whilst I was in prison, they have never raised a finger. There is nothing one which can be pointed out that they did for the sake of my freedom out of prison. It was only left to my family and to close friends and allies for them to fight for my freedom.

CCC Sets A Committee To Persuade Chamisa To Return

By Political Correspondent – Factions within the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) unveil conflicting plans in the wake of Nelson Chamisa’s departure.

The leadership battle for control over the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) escalated yesterday as rival factions within the party outlined divergent strategies following Nelson Chamisa’s recent resignation.

A faction aligned with Chamisa disclosed plans during their Citizens National Assembly (CNA) to engage with the former leader while announcing the formation of an administrative committee to steer the party during this transitional period.
He further revealed the appointment of Senator Jameson Timba as the chairperson of the administrative committee, which includes prominent figures like Lesley Mkurazhizha, Ralf Magunje, Gideon Shoko, David Chimini, Prince Dubeko-Sibanda, Morgan Ncube, Gondongwe, Susan Matsunga, Josiah Makombe, and Maggie Chakabuda.
On the other side, Tshabangu’s faction, acknowledging Chamisa’s resignation, opted to revert to the 2019 structures of the MDC Alliance. In a statement, the faction emphasized the importance of reaffirming resolutions adopted in general, particularly returning to legitimate party structures as of the Gweru congress in 2019.
Mutare Central Member of Parliament, Brian James, became the second CCC legislator to resign after Fadzayi Mahere. In a statement, James expressed his belief that the party had been hijacked, raising concerns about its effectiveness in securing electoral reforms while controlled by the ruling party. James announced his intention to formally resign from the Parliament of Zimbabwe after pledging loyalty to Chamisa. The power struggle within the CCC adds further uncertainty to the political landscape, with competing visions for the party’s future.

Biti Caught On Camera Uttering Mnangagwa’s Speech-Line Denying Violence On Chamisa, Letter

By Investigative Correspondent | In what’s arguably a direct insult to the blood of the slain Tapfumaneyi Masaya and scores others targeted by the State Security to change election results, topple elected governments at inception, and then split the winning party since 1 Aug 2018, Zimbabwean barrister, Tendai Biti has been filmed using
ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 40y old-speech-line denial over State Security crackdown on Nelson Chamisa to force him to resign like done to all other election winners since 1980.

Biti was speaking to the @nrtvzimbabwe station in an interview when he used Mnangagwa’s genocide-denial punchline to say he has no clue of Chamisa’s resignation letter from the CCC party following the violent takeover of the institution.

He said in part (video)

“I’ve just read things in the newspapers/press, so I dont know what’s happening, I dont know if those letters are genuine or not” Biti said. (Watch the full video).

The speech-punchline is the same Mnangagwa has utilised to deny every military crackdown on the opposition parties since the 1980s. (video below)

“I’ve never witnessed that, I’ve never read that except to read it from the press,” says Mnangagwa in 1984 denying the Gukurahundi genocide in a testimony the ZANU PF leader repeats 4 decades later in 2019 while denying the crackdowns that killed 17 people and raped 50 women. (video)

In the interviews filed over the 40 year period, both politicians make this repeating statement sitting in the same interview-posture.

The development comes at a time when the CCC party was descended on by the state security soon after the SADC condemned Aug 2023 elections that observers say Nelson Chamisa defeated Emmerson Mnangagwa by a 56% win, but the military controlled Zimbabwe Electoral Commission announced 44% for Chamisa and 52,6% for Mnangagwa.

5 weeks later, a little Mr Sengezo Tshabangu was assisted by the ZANU PF government to announce himself Chamisa’s Secretary General, and Biti’s confirmed voice was heard in a viral clip celebrating saying Chamisa’s downfall was imminent

The Interparliamentary Union has in a reading upheld that Tshabangu is an imposter.

In the preceding development, Biti has popped out to say that he is the CCC party’s Vice President, after 2 years of total non disputation as the CCC party went on proclaiming it no longer has anyone occupying such a post.

Zimbabweans by and large view Biti as a traitor, and this development is not the first time he has done this. In 2022, he stood away from his own litigation efforts in Zambia that could have gotten Emmerson Mnangagwa de-recognised as a president worldwide, and on 13 April 2023, Biti ignored explosive evidence that could have kept him in parliament, despite things he accuses Chamisa of doing over his failure at selection procees.

Meanwhile, the crackdown against Chamisa is similar to that done to all election winners wince 1980 consistent with Mnangagwa State Security policy that all election winners must be turned into corpses (Mnangagwa’s 2015 family speech). Mnangagwa even (technically) recalled his own boss, Robert Mugabe to the Mozambique battlefront for assassination soon after winning the 1980 election, as revealed by Mugabe’s wife in a revelation that’s remained unchallenged. Grace says this connecting to more ZANU PF war veteran press conference disclosures that say Mnangagwa was a Rhodesia State Security assassin deployed to sabotage future governments.

Sitting in the same posture and uttering the same speech lines as Emmerson Mnangagwa, Biti is accused of joining Mnangagwa’s club of election-saboteurs.- ZimEye

Corruption Allegations Rock Ministry: Permanent Secretary and Politician Accused in Fertilizer Scandal

By A Correspondent| The Permanent Secretary for Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development, Professor Obert Jiri, is facing potential arrest in connection with allegations of approving the corrupt distribution of fertilizer inputs to villagers in Chipinge South.

Jiri is implicated alongside Effie Zituta, an aspiring politician from Chipinge South, and a report has since been filed with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) while security measures have been implemented to halt the dispatch of fertilizer pending further investigation.

Zituta, known for previous involvement in controversies such as the NSSA debacle and Farmec tractor issues, is named in a dossier dated January 26.

The document reveals that a request for fertilizer, made through Prof Jiri, was seemingly not opposed, leading to concerns of corrupt practices.

The dossier includes an excerpt from a letter dated January 26, which states, “A request was made through the Secretary Prof. Obert Jiri on the need for fertilizer as stated above. The Secretary did not object. May you facilitate that at least ninety metric tonnes of top dressing be delivered at Chipangayi Grain Marketing Board as soon as possible for application to crops which are now due for top dressing.”

Another dossier from January 12, 2024, reveals a letter from Zituta to Jiri requesting additional inputs, including tick grease, under the Presidential input support programs for Chipinge South Constituency.

“We kindly request the support of your Ministry under the Presidential input support programs for Chipinge South Constituency.

“As Zanu Pf Chipinge South Constituency, we are working tirelessly to empower our people through various programmes including this Rural Presidential Input Support,” reads the dossier.

The letter emphasizes the efforts of Zanu PF Chipinge South Constituency to empower the local population through various programs, including the Rural Presidential Input Support.

The ministry has a history marred by scandals, tracing back to the days of the late Kumbirai Kangai, who was involved in swindling the Grain Marketing Board (GMB) on an unprecedented scale.

Opposition Leader Threatens Legal Action Against Chamisa Over alleged Party Color Infringement

By A Correspondent| The People’s Unity Party (PUP) has voiced its strong dissatisfaction with the rumor circulating on social media concerning Nelson Chamisa’s alleged intentions to form a new political party using the color blue for their party regalia.

PUP officials were quick to respond, issuing a strong warning to Chamisa and his team that legal action will be taken if they proceed with such a decision, as it infringes upon the colors registered by PUP with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

“PUP is registered with ZEC, specifying blue and white as their official colors for party regalia,” said Herbert Chamuka, the party leader.

This comes in light of concerns raised by PUP leadership and supporters who fear that the use of the same color by another political party could create confusion among citizens during elections and political events.

“We will not stand idly by if Nelson Chamisa and his team choose to use the same color blue designated for our party regalia,” stated Chamuka. “We registered our party with the appropriate authorities, and it is important to respect those boundaries to prevent any misinterpretation or confusion amongst the electorate.”

Chamuka further expressed their intention to pursue legal action against Chamisa and anyone associated with the proposed party if they proceed with the use of blue in their regalia.

The party maintains that it is essential for each political group to adopt distinguishing colors to uphold transparency and facilitate clear messaging during political activities.

This follows after Chamisa was forced to step down from the party he founded after an imposter recalled its legislators and local government representatives.

Chamisa announced his immediate departure from the party, stating that it had been taken over by proxies of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ruling party, Zanu-PF.

Will Job Outshine Nero Who’s Fast Becoming A Zero?

A Mandela Job…

In shackles of adversity, Job Sikhala dwelled,
Two years he served, a story to be told.

Like Mandela, in echoes bold,
His voice mimics Madiba, a tale compelled.
Not Robben’s Isle nor Victor’s cell,
Yet Sikhala emerged, a transformation unfold.
A Zimbabwean Mandela, courage untold,
Will Job overshadow Nelson Chamisa’s glow?
Or lend Chamisa a champions glove
Is Job the Nelson, in political show?
An icon reincarnate, does he stow?
A real Mandela
Chamisa’s spirit, a give-up, so he quit CCC not a woe.
A Mandela perseverance in the political rhyme,
Job’s shadow growing, with each passing time.
In the arena of power, a paradigm,
Chamisa’s challenge, a mountain to climb.
Nelson didn’t quit; he embraced the fight,
Job Sikhala echoes, in political light.
A rival opposition leader emerging, a formidable sight.
Sikhala a giant
In the political arena, shadows cast,
Will Job outshine Nero
Who is fast becoming a zero?
The die is cast.
Chamisa’s challenge, now a twist vast.
Chamisa’s shadow, a narrative swelled.
Is it drama’s dance, or Job’s true embrace,
A Zimbabwean version, in Mandela’s grace?
In two short years, the change takes place.
Mandela served 27 years in prison, split between Robben Island, Pollsmoor Prison and Victor Verster Prison.
But did you hear Sikhala speaking hours after his release from prison?
With mimicry grand, a voice reborn,
Sikhala strides, a Mandela adorned.

The hashtag #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners echoed the president’s plea for justice and freedom for individuals facing imprisonment due to their political beliefs.

President Chamisa concluded his statement with an empowering message, encouraging resilience in the face of adversity:

“Every stone thrown at you, turn it into a stepping stone to your place of destiny! Blessed Tuesday.”

This serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for political freedom in Zimbabwe and the resilience required to overcome challenges on the path to a better future.

People’s Struggle Continues: Wiwa

Job Sikhala On Tshabangu Greet: Nelson Mandela Didn’t Turn Hand from Greeting SellOut Buthelezi

The problem which many people have is that when you become an icon, even the worst sellout would want to have the shake of your hand. If you remember when Mandela left Roben Island, the most sellout of all times, Mangosuthu Gatsha Buthelezi caved to shake the hand of Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela did not turn his hand back, but he just staged his hand and greeted him, so you should also expect people who are involved in issues that have raised a lot of questions, anxiety and also a lot of many cries in the nation, would come and greet you, they would try to associate themselves with the conscience of the people, so that they might allocate to themselves the iconic nature of the person they are greeting.

So I did not, I read it from that angle that these people wanted to cleanse their own mess off me. I was shocked. The only person who had to tell me that someone who was wearing spectacles was Tshabangu’s lawyer…

Sengezo Tshabanguband his lawyers, Lewis Uriri and Kucaca Phulu

I don’t even know him but as a man of the people when they come to greet you, you accept their hand, but whatever their intention was they must know that I am a very difficult character, that’s why their masters had to take me into prison for 2 years. VIDEO

Coltart Leaves His Fate In The Hands Of Bulawayo Residents

Bulawayo mayor David Coltart said Monday that a decision on his political future is imminent, but stressed that it will be influenced by “those I am directly responsible to.”

Coltart, like other Citizens Coalition for Change MPs and councillors, is under pressure to quit in solidarity with Nelson Chamisa, who resigned as leader last week after declaring that the party has been “contaminated, bastardised and hijacked.”

Fadzayi Mahere resigned as MP for Mt Pleasant on Monday and said she had ceased to be a CCC member, but party insiders say there is no stampede to leave just yet.

Coltart said: “I am still consulting a broad cross range of those who elected me, the residents of the great city of Bulawayo, trusted advisors, the elders of my church and of course my family.

“I will issue a clear statement regarding my intentions before next week. In essence, my focus is on those I am directly responsible to.”

Coltart has won plaudits with his development-oriented manifesto for the city after being elected mayor in September last year. Many Bulawayo residents have taken to social media to urge him to stay as they warn that him leaving City Hall could open the door to the ruling Zanu-PF party to either impose a commission to run the city’s affairs, or a Zanu-PF councillor might take over.

CCC controls most urban councils in the country, including the major cities of Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Masvingo and Mutare, and mass resignations could leave Zanu-PF in charge – a proposition many are failing to accept.

Remaining in CCC also means elected councillors and MPs remain at the mercy of Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-styled CCC interim secretary general who has withdrawn more than two dozen lawmakers from parliament, one of the key developments that forced Chamisa’s exit.

Senior CCC figures have reportedly opened discussions with Tshabangu to hand over control of the party leading up to a congress. The party, meanwhile, is set to name an interim leader to replace Chamisa at a meeting of its national standing committee on Tuesday.

Chamisa, meanwhile, is mulling forming a new political movement. Some CCC MPs and councillors say they will wait for him to announce his plans before making decisions on whether to quit their positions or stay with CCC at least for the next four years leading to elections in 2028.

Mnangagwa’s Nephew Rendered Jobless

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Special Anti-Corruption Unit (Sacu) has been stripped of prosecution powers in a move that leaves National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) as the sole agency to handle corruption-related cases.

Mnangagwa appointed Sacu in May 2018 to bolster the fight against graft.

He appointed his nephew Thabani Vusa Mpofu to lead the antigraft body that was based in his office.

The unit’s terms of reference include collaborating with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc), the Zimbabwe Republic Police and other institutions in the fight against corruption.

The unit was also expected to assist Zacc and other investigative agencies of the State in the perusal and consideration of dockets to prosecute corruption cases referred to the NPA by the investigative agencies.

However, recently-appointed Prosecutor-General Justice Loyce Matanda-Moyo said all corruption cases would now be handled by the NPA.

Matanda-Moyo made the announcement in a statement while calling for improvement in the clearing of economic crimes in the country.

In her statement, Justice Matanda-Moyo said the Economic Crimes Unit in Harare had handled 72 cases and completed 42 with the rate standing at 58,3%.

“There is a need for improvement in the clearance rate of economic crimes. The anti-corruption unit handled 40 cases and completed 33. The clearance rate was 82,5%,” she said.

“Let me, while on the anti-corruption unit, also take this opportunity to thank Sacu that is the special unit in the President’s Office, for the assistance rendered to the National Prosecuting Authority over the years.

“We have recently terminated their services and I expect that corruption cases will be rendered to the National Prosecuting Authority over the years.

“We have recently terminated their services and I expect that corruption cases will be efficiently prosecuted by yourselves (NPA officers).

Announcing the establishment of Sacu, Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba indicated that the unit was not meant to supersede or undermine Zacc but to reinforce and complement the commission’s operations.

He said the unit would ensure a well-co-ordinated and comprehensive approach where all the investigative arms and prosecution elements operate in a co-ordinated fashion.Charamba said the setting up of the unit was in line with Mnangagwa’s policy of zero tolerance to corruption.

In an interview with NewsDay, Attorney-General Virginia Mabhiza, who was the unit’s co-ordinator, said Sacu would remain as part of Mnangagwa’s effort to fight corruption.”The unit is in the Office of the President and Cabinet and its activities go way beyond criminal prosecution with its main mandate being to fight corruption,” she said.”Criminal prosecution was one of their duties and they can continue investigating corruption cases.

“It is also important to note that the unit also worked in consultation with the Prosecutor-General when cases go for prosecution.”

Matanda-Moyo also announced a raft of changes in the NPA management structure including operational processes to expedite case processing, reduce the backlog and ensure a more effective delivery of justice.

Deputy Prosecutors-General have been moved to oversee between 11 and 14 stations Nelson Mutsonziwa monitoring Mashonaland East, Manicaland, Mutare High Court and Asset Recovery.

The other provinces were divided between the three acting deputy prosecutors-general.

In a statement, NPA said the new head for inspectorate and training was drafting a new training curriculum enforcing stricter performance standards.

Matanda-Moyo, who previously headed Zacc, is the country’s first female prosecutor-general.She was Zacc chairperson from May 2019 and replaced Kumbirai Hodzi who held the position until his resignation on medical grounds last year.

“You Raped Me!,’ Prophet Walter Magaya’s Hotel Graphitti’d

Vandaliased…A side wall at Walter Magaya’s Yadah hotel

Prophet Walter Magaya’s Hotel Vandalized with Controversial Graffiti

By Religion Reporter | The hotel owned by Prophet Walter Magaya, a convicted mentee of TB Joshua, has been vandalized with eye-catching graffiti. Early Wednesday morning, passersby were shocked to discover the message, “You raped me,” boldly painted across the facade of the establishment.

This act of vandalism comes amidst a tumultuous time for Magaya, who recently lost a legal battle with the Gender Commission. The prophet had sought to halt investigations into multiple allegations of rape leveled against him by various women, but his efforts were in vain.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, reports indicate that the individual responsible for the graffiti is a woman allegedly suffering from depression as a result of abuse by Magaya. The message she left behind is not just an accusation inscribed onto a biblical verse: “22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time;” -This verse may symbolize her hope for justice and transformation amidst her pain.

At this point, Magaya has not issued any comments regarding this incident. The silence from his end has only fueled public curiosity and concern about the allegations against him.

The graffiti, serving as a stark and public accusation.

Job Sikhala pens letter upon release

Dear Zimbabweans and Worldwide Friends

For nearly 2 years, I suffered in my oppressors’ prison. You prayed 4 me 2 be released from the jaws of my tormentors. You made loud clamours for my release as you know that I was innocent. Yu stood with my family. I am crying as I am typing this message. Your love strengthened me throughout. I deeply understand the pain and agony we shared together during the time of my unmitigated oppression, but let me reassure all of you that:

I am prepared to pay any price for the love of my country I am prepared to pay any price for the love of the people of Zimbabwe

I am prepared to pay any price in defence of democracy, freedom, and the happiness of our people.

To all Zimbabweans in the country and the diaspora, I thank you.

Let me thank all progressive organisations, in politics, in the
media, civic society, churches,

the working people, student bodies, professionals, and Members of Parliament both domestically and internationally for ceaselessly condemning the tyrannical persecution perpetrated upon me by my enemies.
Let me also thank members of the diplomatic

Corp from world democracies and Africa whose solidarity was priceless. I also want to thank world governments who remained alert to what was transpiring on my persecution. To the Free Job Sikhala Solidarity Movement, you were the missing link in Zimbabwe’s political equation.

To my lawyers, words alone are insufficient to express my gratitude. To Mai Sikhala and family, thank you very much for your love. With all my love, May the Almighty God bless all of you.

Sikhala To Appeal Against Conviction

Freed opposition politician Job Sikhala is set to appeal his conviction and sentence for public violence incitement charges, his lawyers said Tuesday.

The former Zengeza West lawmaker and co-accused, Godfrey Sithole were on Tuesday handed wholly suspended two-year prison sentences by Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti.

Sikhala had endured nearly 600 days under a widely condemned pre-trial detention at Chikurubi Maximum Prison, Harare.

Under the conditions of the suspended sentence, Sikhala was ordered not to commit the same offence within the next five years.

His lawyer, Harrison Nkomo said they were filing a High Court appeal against both conviction and sentence.

“The prosecution should not have happened in the first place; we must not glorify things that are wrong,” he said.

“My respective view is that his arrest was not supposed to have been effected. Equally, the prosecution and subsequent conviction.

“That being the case, we are taking the matter up with the High Court on appeal.

“What we want is an acquittal, not a conviction with a lighter sentence. No, we disagree with that.”

Is Zimbabwe’s Anti Corruption Commission Effective?

State media

Zimbabwe’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has demonstrated significant effectiveness in fulfilling its mandate, recovering illegally obtained assets totaling over US$130 million.

The commission, aligning with constitutional obligations for national development, highlights achievements in the 2022 report, including sending 32 case files to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for unexplained wealth orders and civil forfeitures.

ZACC Executive Secretary Ms Sukai Tongogara emphasized successful outcomes, such as a high court order on assets linked to the former CEO of ZINARA.

Joint operations with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority led to the recovery of 252 vehicles, exposing abuse of civil servants’ rebates in 2023.

The commission’s commitment is evident in a 97% increase in cases referred to the NPA compared to 2022, totaling 264 cases.

Arrests reached 297, with a noteworthy 71% conviction rate in both magistrates’ and high courts.

ZACC sees potential for further impact through enhanced citizen awareness campaigns and the establishment of a whistleblower framework for witness protection.

The Return Of Devera Ngwena…

LEGENDERAY Zimbabwean musician Jonah Moyo is back with a bang after releasing a chart-topping track titled; “No Stress”.

The name Devera Ngwena Jazz Band, one of the pioneers of Sungura music has been missing in the local music industry for years.

69-year-old band leader, Jonah Moyo has, however, decided to revive the name that was a darling of many in the 1980s and ’90s with an album that has been well received by fans after making it to the Radio Zimbabwe Top 20 Chart Show.

“I have been based in South Africa for 16 years. I was working for some company, and all was well, so I relaxed a bit to come back home. But in 2020 I came back to lecture at Great Zimbabwe University. So, I reformed the Devera Ngwena Jazz band. Tshabangu Continues To Chase Shadows

By A Correspondent

Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-appointed interim Secretary of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has declared that there is “no turning back” in the pursuit of democracy.

Despite facing apparent unpopularity, Tshabangu asserts that he represents the voice of the majority, advocating for a political landscape centred around the principles of democracy and transparency.

Tshabangu’s unapologetic stance is marked by a clear departure from what he refers to as the “Politics of the big man.”

In a pointed statement, he urges those inclined towards such political ideologies to forge their own path, emphasizing the CCC’s commitment to the “Politics of the good idea.”

This rhetoric signifies a departure from traditional power-centric politics, positioning the CCC as champions of innovative and principled governance.

The rendezvous took place at 2248HRS Rome time, just 12 minutes before the stroke of midnight in Zimbabwe.

This urgency hints at the significance of the topics discussed during the nocturnal meeting, suggesting a level of preparedness required for the President’s early-morning engagements.

The mysterious nature of Mnangagwa’s actions adds an element of suspense to his diplomatic maneuvers.

Observers and analysts are left speculating on the undisclosed matters that unfolded during the late-night briefing.

The secrecy surrounding the meeting may fuel speculation and rumors, contributing to the enigma that shrouds Mnangagwa’s leadership style.

As the events continue to unfold, the curious circumstances surrounding this nocturnal meeting leave room for speculation and interpretation, offering a glimpse into the intricate world of international diplomacy and the strategies employed by leaders like Mnangagwa.

Act On Masvingo City Congestion, Government Told

Masvingo City Council expresses deep concern over the escalating traffic congestion in the city, driven by its expanding population and the critical role as a transit hub connecting major cities.

The geographical proximity to South Africa amplifies the already significant traffic volume.

In light of these challenges, we urgently call upon the government, specifically the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development
, to expedite the dualisation of the highway passing through our historic city.

This strategic move is essential to alleviate the mounting congestion and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

Of particular concern is the impact on essential services, as emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks are also experiencing delays in the traffic, posing serious risks to those in urgent need of such services.

Masvingo City Council earnestly appeals to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development to promptly address this increasingly frustrating situation.

We believe that swift action is crucial to maintaining the safety and well-being of our citizens and visitors.

CCC Wants Tshabangu Out & Chamisa Back

By Political Reporter- The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) is meeting to agree on how to approach the former party leader, Nelson Chamisa, to come back and the fate of Sengeso Tshabangu.

The meeting is expected to address the party’s future trajectory following Chamisa’s last Thursday dramatic exit, alleging Zanu PF interference.

The CCC has been in disarray since Chamisa’s departure, with one faction rallying behind him and the other supporting Tshabangu. The meeting, shrouded in uncertainty, is anticipated to be a battleground for these rival factions.
While the exact agenda remains undisclosed, CCC legislators aligned with Chamisa expressed their commitment to resisting what they perceive as an attempt to hijack the opposition party. Promise Mkwananzi, CCC’s national spokesperson, promised a comprehensive statement today, rejecting resolutions made at a prior meeting in Gweru.
Caston Matewu, co-spokesperson for the faction meeting in Gweru, indicated their resolve to engage Chamisa to reclaim his position as party president. He asserted their allegiance to CCC, vehemently opposing any characterization of their stance as support for Tshabangu.
In case talks with Chamisa prove futile, Matewu affirmed their intention to proceed to congress for the election of a new leader, emphasizing CCC’s rejection of Tshabangu’s claim to the secretary-general role. A meeting scheduled for today in Harare aims to chart a course forward for the party, with plans to address the media afterward.
The aftermath of Chamisa’s departure has led to a dilemma for some CCC legislators, with Mt Pleasant MP Fadzayi Mahere resigning from the National Assembly. Others, such as Norton legislator Richard Tsvangirai, have chosen to stay in Parliament while expressing solidarity with Chamisa. The confusion intensified as Tshabangu announced the formation of a national standing committee, introducing new spokespersons despite disapproval from CCC officials.
Mkwananzi dismissed the newly appointed spokespersons, emphasizing that CCC decisions are made by the citizens’ national assembly and not an unauthorized standing committee. He urged patience among CCC members and supporters until formal communication about the party’s direction is issued.
Analysts weigh in on the situation, suggesting that most CCC MPs may remain in Parliament, prioritizing loyalty to constituents over a leader without a clear plan. Political analyst Stephen Chan believes opposition to authoritarianism is best pursued within Parliament.
Rashweat Mukundu emphasized that Chamisa did not instruct anyone to leave Parliament, and the confusion stemmed from unwarranted social media hype. He argued that CCC MPs’ contribution to the politically charged and allegedly compromised Parliament would be limited.
As CCC grapples with internal strife, the National Citizens Assembly is poised to be a pivotal moment determining the party’s course. Newsday reported on the escalating tensions within CCC.

Human Rights Defender Living ln Fear

By A Correspondent| Renowned human rights defender Leo Chamahwinya is now living in fear after one of the newpapers carried out an article which linked him to regime change agents in Zimbabwe.

Chamahwinya told this publication that he is not a regime change agent and has never participated in any actions which are criminal. These malicious articles if anything are precursor to persecution and abductions.

“History teaches us that whenever the state wants to prefer flimsy and baseless charges against human rights defenders they start by throwing allegations in newspapers and later pounce on activists”, he lamented.

Leo is a peace loving Zimbabwean who believe in legitimate transfer of power and has never advocated for regime change in Zimbabwe.

The allegations are malicious, baseless and are meant to intimidate human rights defenders who are tirelessly working for the establishment of an envronment which promotes and protect the rights of Zimbabweans.

Zimbabwe government is in a process of enacting Private Voluntary Amendment Bill and this bill among other things will closes and shrink the operating space for NGOs and has the potential of criminalising the work of human rights defenders in Zimbabwe.

We Disagree With Sikhala’s Conviction And Sentence

By A Correspondent| Convicted former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator Job Sikhala’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo has openly disagreed with the conviction and sentencing of his client.

Nkomo said he is under instruction to take the matter to the High Court.

Harare Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti sentenced Former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala and his colleague Godfrey Sithole to a two year prison term wholly suspended for five years on condition that they do not commit a crime of inciting violence.

Addressing journalists outside court, Nkomo said;

“Job Sikhala has been given a two year prison term wholly suspended for five years. The legal effect is that he is now a free man, this is the only case that has been keeping in custody so he is going to come out.

“The prosecution should not have happened in the first place, we must not glorify things that are wrong, my respectiful view is that his arrest in the first place was not supposed to be effected, equally the prosecution and subsequent conviction,”

“We are going to take the matter up with the High Court on appeal, what we want is an acquittal not a conviction with a lighter sentence, no we disagree with that,” said Nkomo.

CCC Lures Chamisa Back

By Political Reporter- The fragmented Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) is meeting to agree on how to approach the former party leader, Nelson Chamisa, to come back.

Kusukuwere Son Loses R550 000 To Conman

By Political Reporter- Christian Kasukuwere, the 21-year-old son of former minister Saviour Kasukuwere, has reportedly lost nearly R550,000 in a failed grocery supply deal orchestrated by alleged conmen.

The accused, Jethro Mubaiwa (32) and Jonathan Mbunga (25), made their appearance before Harare magistrate Ethel Chichera on Saturday last week, facing charges related to the botched deal.

The court remanded them in custody, shedding light on the connection between Christian and Mbunga within social circles.

According to the State’s case, the incident unfolded on July 30 last year when Christian sought to purchase groceries from South Africa. He engaged Mbunga, who claimed to have connections with Mubaiwa capable of facilitating the deal.
On the same day, Mubaiwa reportedly assured Christian over the phone that he specialized in supplying groceries from South Africa. Mbunga communicated that Mubaiwa possessed a South African FNB Bank account where Christian could deposit the money for the intended groceries.
Allegedly, Christian instructed Albert Chari, an employee based in South Africa and affiliated with his father, to transfer R544,500 to the specified South African bank account. After the money transfer, Christian sent proof of payments to Mbunga via WhatsApp, receiving confirmation that Mubaiwa had received the funds. The promised grocery delivery was expected within three days.
Planning to discuss importation details, Christian arranged a meeting with both Mbunga and Mubaiwa at Belvedere Square in Harare. However, during the meeting, a dispute arose, prompting Mbunga and Mubaiwa to suggest reversing the deal and offering to reimburse US$33,000, equivalent to ZAR544,500.
Subsequently, the accused left Christian’s vehicle under the guise of retrieving the agreed reimbursement from their own vehicle but abruptly drove away, leaving Christian realizing he had fallen victim to a scam. The distressed victim reported the incident to the police.
Investigations uncovered that the account used for the fraudulent transaction belonged to Mubaiwa’s elder brother, Admire Mubaiwa, who is already facing charges related to similar scams. The total loss suffered by Christian amounted to R544,500, with no recovery of the funds.
The court proceedings shed light on the intricate web of deception that ensnared Christian Kasukuwere, emphasizing the importance of vigilance in financial transactions. Newsday reported on this latest development.

Tshabangu Unapologetic

Mayor Calls on Central Government to Address Masvingo Traffic Congestion

Church Leader Denounces Mnangagwa Regime’s Actions

In a bold and impassioned statement, Bishop Ancelimo Magaya, the founder of Grace Ablaze Ministry International, has castigated the Zanu PF regime in Zimbabwe for what he perceives as a systematic dismantling of the opposition.

The outspoken bishop, known for his unwavering stance on justice and morality, has called on leaders from various spheres to introspect and condemn the alleged atrocities committed by the government.

A Call to Soul Search

Bishop Magaya emphasizes that anyone, regardless of position in the church, politics, civic society, or even within the ruling Zanu PF, who turns a blind eye to the unfolding events or fails to condemn them is guilty of intellectual dishonesty and self-deception.

He sternly labels such individuals as not only cowardly but also idolatrous, warning of potential condemnation alongside other sinners.

The bishop highlights a litany of concerning incidents, including abductions, killings, recalls of MPs, and the recent inflammatory remarks by Mr. Mutsvangwa, insinuating the arrest of Advocate Chamisa. He contends that these actions constitute blatant wickedness, and any indifference to such matters is tantamount to actively supporting oppression.

Condemnation of Wickedness

Bishop Magaya argues that remaining neutral in the face of injustice is comparable to witnessing a person being brutally beaten with their hands tied, yet doing nothing.

He asserts that indifference on the grounds of non-partisanship is, in fact, a tacit endorsement of wickedness. Drawing a parallel with historical events, he warns against the dangers of conniving with repressive systems, citing examples like Kasukuwere, J. Moyo, and Chombo.

The bishop invokes the importance of finding safety and security in Christ amid tumultuous times, emphasizing that only through His saving grace and upright living can individuals hope to navigate the challenges presented by political turmoil.

Strategic Ambiguity and Unholy Alliances

While acknowledging that strategic ambiguity may have failed as a doctrine, Bishop Magaya contends that this failure doesn’t justify forming unholy alliances with the parliament, judiciary, and ZEC.

He urges leaders to rise above political affiliations and condemn the actions witnessed in Zimbabwe, even if they may have reservations about Advocate Chamisa.

In a poignant plea for unity, the bishop questions when Zimbabweans will learn to speak truthfully to each other and engage in constructive dialogue for the sake of the nation. He expresses the pain of seeing predictions made by Ian Smith about Zimbabwe’s liberators coming to pass, imploring, “God save Zimbabwe.”

Bishop Magaya’s statement serves as a powerful call to conscience, challenging leaders and citizens alike to confront the injustices and work towards a united, truthful, and just Zimbabwe.

Promise Promises Season Of Fighting

By A Correspondent| Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi has promised an explosive season where his party will confront among others issues that forced party leader Nelson Chamisa to walk away from the movement he formed in 2022.

Posting on X formerly Twitter, Mkwananzi said in the coming days they will fight for the local government ministry to effect recalls on Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume and others.

He said they will also fight that their candidates who were barred from contesting in the 3 February by-elections be allowed to participate in line with national laws.

“In the coming days, we are going to fight for the following items: That the recall letter submitted by the party to the ministry of local government, public works and national housing on Monday the 15th of January 2023 be expedited and effected,” said Mkwananzi.

“That our candidates for the 3rd of February 2023 by-elections who are about to be unlawfully barred from participating be allowed to contest in line with the laws of Zimbabwe. It is a paradox that purported opposition leaders are at the forefront of barring fellow opposition leaders from contesting,” added Mkwananzi.

He added that they will also fight to have Proportional representatives in senate, parliament and council reinstated.

“That all our Proportional Representatives in senate, parliament and council who were unlawfully recalled be retained as they had been selected by our leader and President Advocate Nelson Chamisa after the 23rd of August 2023 disputed elections,” said Mkwananzi.

Finally, Mkwananzi said they want former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala unconditionally released from prison and compensated for wrongful arrest and illegal detention.

“That Hon Job Sikhala be immediately and unconditionally released from prison and compensated for the wrongful arrest and illegal detention,” Mkwananzi added.

Allegations of Judicial Corruption Rock Zimbabwe: A Comparison between 2018 and 2023 Cases

By A Correspondent| Zimbabwe has once again been plunged into a judicial scandal, echoing concerns raised back in 2018.

The recent demand for the resignation of Deputy Chief Justice Elizabeth Gwaunza and Supreme Court judges Antonia Guvava and Chinembiri Bhunu by Tendai Mashamhanda, son of Mashwede Holdings owner Alex Mashamanda, highlights allegations of corruption and violations of ethical regulations within the judiciary.

Similar to the 2018 revelations made by Acting Prosecutor General Kumbirai Hodzi, who exposed a justice system capture cartel involving police officers, lawyers, prosecutors, magistrates, and judges, the current situation involves Mashamhanda accusing the mentioned judges of accepting false evidence in an appeal case. This draws parallels with Hodzi’s claim of a powerful cartel corrupting the justice system in Zimbabwe.

The 2018 article reveals Hodzi’s assertion that the justice system is compromised by a syndicate with significant influence, prepared to resort to extreme measures, including attempts on Hodzi’s life. This echoes the current allegations by Mashamhanda, suggesting a recurring theme of corruption within the judicial system.

Both cases highlight the erosion of professionalism and ethical standards within the judiciary, with Mashamhanda citing “gross elementary errors of facts and misleading statements” in the Supreme Court judgment. Similarly, Hodzi pointed out an erosion of professionalism and corruption among lawyers and officers involved in the justice system in 2018.

The demand for judges’ resignations and the exposure of alleged fraudulent practices in the recent case parallel the call for “brutal” measures to disrupt the cartel made by Hodzi in 2018. Both instances underscore the need to confront corruption within the justice system head-on.

It appears that Zimbabwe is grappling with persistent challenges related to judicial ethics and corruption, with the recent allegations echoing concerns raised in 2018, indicating an ongoing struggle for transparency and integrity within the country’s legal institutions.

Sikhala Sentencing Today

Prolific lawyer and legislator, Job Sikhala, and his co-accused, former Chitungwiza North Member of Parliament Godfrey Sithole, will be sentenced today on a charge of inciting the public violence that broke out in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza in 2022 after Ms Moreblessing Ali was murdered by a former boyfriend. Yesterday, the State presented evidence in aggravation and the defence in mitigation.

Appearing for the State was Mr Ephraim Zinyandu while Mr Jeremiah Bamu and Mr Harrison Nkomo were representing Sikhala. Mr Oliver Marwa represented Sithole.

The two were convicted after a full trial by Harare magistrate Mrs Tafadzwa Miti.

In aggravation, Mr Zinyandu submitted that the first impact of this offence was that there was public violence that took place that resulted in the destruction of property.

“Once public violence of this nature takes place, there is bound to be insecurity amongst the citizens, especially those who live in the area where it took place. The other impact is the unnecessary use of police resources towards the quelling of public violence. This will also result in loss of confidence among potential investors because there is no investor who wants to do business in a country where there is violence,” he said.

The State was alive to the fact that Sikhala has been in custody for almost a year and 9 months but the court has to take into account the impact of the offence on society as some people lost their property.

In mitigation, Mr Nkomo sought just a fine as Sikhala was a family man who had many dependents and had lost opportunities when he was in prison.

“The defence proposes a wholly suspended prison term to the accused. In the unlikely event that the court decides that the wholly suspended sentence does not meet the circumstances, we propose a fine of level 6 (US$300).

“Despite the State’s claims, we submit that there is no iota of aggravation. The first accused has 12 legal dependents. We cannot mention the other dependents of the extended families. Livelihoods of 23 people look up to the accused. The accused is a legal practitioner and a former legislator — the title that he lost upon his incarceration as he could not contest in the 2023 elections. He has been relegated from being an MP to a regular citizen.”

Mr Marwa told the court it had to consider that Sithole had 50 children that he paid school fees for through a trust and if imprisoned they will be affected negatively.

The state claims that Sikhala posted a video on social media encouraging CCC supporters to avenge Moreblessing Ali’s death and then hired lorries to ferry people from Epworth and other surrounding areas in Chitungwiza to Nyatsime.

According to the State, 20 families were left homeless following the violence, while 13 shops, six tuck-shops and vehicles were extensively damaged after CCC supporters ran amok, indiscriminately attacking residents of Nyatsime.- Agencies

Mnangagwa, Tshabangu Lawyers Spotted At Sikhala Court Appearance

President Emmerson Mnangagwa and self-proclaimed Citizens Coalition for Change Secretary General’s lawyers Lewis Uriri and Nqobani Sithole were yesterday spotted at the court appearance of Job Sikhala.

Others have ruled any deal claiming that the two attended the court just like other Zimbabweans and lawyers in solidarity with Sikhala who is also a lawyer.

Meanwhile, Sikhala will be back in court today for sentencing following his conviction of inciting public violence.

CCC Sharpens Knives For Tshabangu Over Chamisa’s Departure

By Political Reporter- There is now serious infighting in the Sengezo Tshabangu-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) as some of his backers are now baying for his blood, accusing him of being captured following the statement he released after Nelson Chamisa dumped the opposition party.

In response to Chamisa’s statement announcing his resignation on Thursday last week, Tshabangu said the CCC leadership had resolved that power and authority would collectively reside in the national leadership elected at the MDC Alliance Gweru national congress held in 2019.
CCC steering committee chairperson Dingilizwe Tshuma dismissed Tshabangu’s statement saying it was null and void. In his statement last week, Tshabangu said the CCC leadership elected at the Gweru congress had convened an emergency meeting to consider both the contents of Chamisa’s statement and its immediate implications.
He also claimed that the leadership had appointed vice-president Lynette Karenyi-Kore as the leader of opposition in Parliament. But Karenyi-Kore refused to take up the position while backing Chamisa.
However, Tshuma said the 2019 structure was nullified by the court that gave the MDC to Thokozani Khupe and eventually to Douglas Mwonzora.“He has been captured. Where was this collective leadership all along when recalls started? Why is it emerging now? In any event, they have made statements distancing themselves from the SG. They are correct because they did not appoint him.
“It was in the steering committee that appointed him. So, we expect our SG as they appointed him to come and account for his statement. So, the interim steering committee distances itself completely from his statements,” Tshuma said.
Tshabangu spokesperson Khaliphani Phungeni lamented the death of democracy in Zimbabwe.“It is a bad day for democracy, one that could have been avoided. We needed an adult in the room, unfortunately, both parties had to take responsibility for the call up because at some stage they talked about negotiations,” he said.
“There was a time when pastors were deployed, and no one is now referring to that dialogue. We should not be this radical with this people’s project.“The SG is saying they are trying to stabilise the party. It’s not all lost, they are trying to negotiate with the change champion-in-chief and we are hopeful that there is still room for negotiations.”

Tshabangu Hit By Confusion

By Political Reporter- The sinking citizens’ Coalition For Change has shifted its goals on its position on the appointment of Promise Mkwananzi as the party’s new leader.

There was a statement purportedly issued on the 28th of January 2024 by the party announcing the appointment of Mkwanazi as the new CCC leader.

Tshabangu quickly disassociated himself from the statement, saying that there was no such an appointment.

Mutsvangwa Roasted

By A Correspondent

In a fiery response to a recent Zanu PF media briefing, former MDC-T Member of Parliament, Hon Jeffryson Chitando, has vehemently criticized the ruling party’s stance on key political developments in Zimbabwe.

In a press release, Chitando dismissed the Zanu PF briefing as misleading and raised concerns about the state of democracy in the country.

The former MP did not mince words, starting his critique with a metaphorical headline, “Breaking News From The Devil!!!!,” highlighting the gravity he attaches to the issues at hand.

Drawing a parallel to the world of sensationalism, Chitando likened the situation to a satanic press conference, emphasizing the significance of the revelations he was about to unfold.

Chitando questioned the credibility of a recent press conference held by Zanu PF, where the ruling party defended the election process following the SADC Election Observer Mission’s report, led by Dr. Muumba.

The report raised concerns about election rigging, incompetence, irregularities, and incredibility.

Chitando accused Zanu PF of using such platforms to deflect blame and downplay legitimate concerns about the electoral process.

The former MP also delved into the internal dynamics of opposition politics, highlighting the resignation of President Advocate Pastor Nelson Nehemiah Chamisa from the CCC.

Chitando claimed that Chamisa’s resignation was prompted by the alleged capture, hijack, and infiltration of state institutions into the opposition party.

He pointed out the irony of the first person to defend Chamisa against resignation, hinting at potential ulterior motives behind the scenes.

Chitando continued his scathing critique by addressing the recalls within the opposition party, asserting that they were orchestrated by President Mnangagwa to secure a 2/3 majority.

He argued that these recalls had little to do with primary elections or party structures, emphasizing Mnangagwa’s perceived fear of a strong opposition that could expose what Chitando labeled as “incapacitation, inability, mismanagement, and dictatorship.”

The former MP concluded with a rallying cry, referencing a local proverb, “Rova chidhoma kana uchida kuona Mai vacho!!!” loosely translated as “Kick the beehive if you want to see the queen bees.”

This metaphorical expression implies a call to action against oppressive forces and a challenge to those who may doubt the assertions made by Chitando.

In presenting this perspective, Hon Jeffryson Chitando positions himself as a vocal critic of the current political landscape, advocating for transparency, accountability, and positive change in Zimbabwe.

We Own Country: Zanu PF

Tinashe Sambiri

Zanu PF’s cyber team, Varakashi, has boldly declared ownership of Zimbabwe, asserting control and signaling an unwillingness to relinquish power.

The party’s Operation Restore Legacy, posted on Facebook, proclaimed, “ZANU PF ndoinema tittle deeds eZimbabwe. Good Night Zimbabwe.”

The ominous statement was accompanied by a threat to arrest opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa, with a chilling reference to Statehouse and Chikurubi.

The assertion raises concerns about the political climate and the potential use of power to suppress opposition.

Zanu PF In Plot To Kill President Chamisa

Tinashe Sambiri

In a heartfelt statement, opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has laid bare the relentless challenges faced by the MDC Alliance and its subsequent iterations, including the current threat to his life.

Reflecting on a tumultuous journey, Chamisa expressed gratitude to the people of Zimbabwe for their unwavering support.

The political turbulence began in 2018 when the MDC-T was forcibly taken away and handed to another faction.

Undeterred, Chamisa and his supporters regrouped, forming the MDC Alliance.

However, their resilience was met with further adversity in 2020 when the MDC Alliance itself was seized, along with its headquarters, assets, finances, and political party funding.

A strategic move to recall over 25 MDC Alliance MPs from Parliament aimed to leave Chamisa politically exposed.

Undaunted by these setbacks, Chamisa then founded the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) from scratch in response to the political challenges.

Yet, the struggles persisted as 2023 saw the CCC also taken away and handed to another entity, a creation of those in power.

This series of actions appeared to be a systematic effort to degrade, demean, defocus, weaken, and ultimately destroy Chamisa’s political influence.

In an alarming turn of events, Chamisa revealed that, in 2024, he faces not only political threats but also a menacing danger to his life. Despite the adversities, he stands resolute, stating, “I have no regrets whatsoever!! Our cause is just – A better life for everyone. Dignity for everyone. Happiness for everyone. Freedom for everyone.”

Chamisa emphasizes that the struggles are not his alone but a collective battle for a just and democratic society.

Ending on a note of faith, he invokes the hashtag #Godisinit, asserting that the author and giver of life will determine the ultimate outcome.

The statement underscores the ongoing challenges faced by political opposition in Zimbabwe and raises concerns about the state of democracy in the nation.

Congo DR Seek First AFCON Title In 50 Years

Sports Correspondent

In a nail-biting Africa Cup of Nations last-16 encounter at San Pedro on Sunday, Congo DR emerged victorious in a thrilling 8-7 penalty shootout against Egypt.

The tension escalated after a 1-1 draw, with Egypt’s goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal missing a crucial penalty, hitting the crossbar.

Lionel Mpasi, his counterpart, capitalized on the opportunity, leading to Egypt’s exit from the tournament.

Meschack Elia initially gave DR Congo the lead with a close-range header, but Mostafa Mohamed equalized with a penalty just before halftime.

Extra time saw Egypt reduced to ten men as Mohamed Hamdy received a red card.

Despite missing key player Mohamed Salah due to injury, Egypt defended resolutely, forcing the game into a shootout.

The jubilant Congolese will now face Guinea in the quarter-finals in Abidjan on Friday, marking a significant triumph and setting the stage for their upcoming challenge.

This victory holds historical weight, as it marks the first time in 50 years that DR Congo has defeated Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations, reminiscent of their triumph in the semi-finals half a century ago when they lifted the trophy.

Former MP Hon Jeffryson Chitando Takes Aim at Zanu PF Media Briefing

In presenting this perspective, Hon Jeffryson Chitando positions himself as a vocal critic of the current political landscape, advocating for transparency, accountability, and positive change in Zimbabwe.

ln the face of challenges, we remain united, for healing and peace. We understand for the need of healing and closure, the process should not take more than a year to be completed.

Let is however be aware of external forces that may want to interfere with our internal processes.

The Gukurahundi outreach programme is paving the way for healing and for a brighter future for all Zimbabweans. The budget for the outreach program is already confirmed.

We understand for the need of healing and closure, the process should not take more than a year to be completed.

Promise Mkhwananzi Announces 1st Demands: Reverse All Tshabangu’s Recalls And Release Job Sikhala

In the coming days, we are going to fight for the following items:

1. That the recall letter submitted by the party to the ministry of local government, public works and national housing on Monday the 15th of January 2023 be expedited and effected.

2. That our candidates for the 3rd of February 2023 by-elections who are about to be unlawfully barred from participating be allowed to contest in line with the laws of Zimbabwe. It is a paradox that purported opposition leaders are at the forefront of barring fellow opposition leaders from contesting.

3. That all our Proportional Representatives in senate, parliament and council who were unlawfully recalled be retained as they had been selected by our leader and President Advocate Nelson Chamisa after the 23rd of August 2023 disputed elections.

4. That Hon Job Sikhala be immediately and unconditionally released from prison and compensated for the wrongful arrest and illegal detention.

Knives Out For Chamisa

By Political Reporter- The country’s favourite and most popular politician, Nelson Chamisa, is receiving death threats on his life following his resignation from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).

The revelation, made in an X post on Sunday, left the details of the threats undisclosed.

Chamisa’s departure from the CCC, a party he formed just a year ago, was fueled by what he termed as the party’s hijacking, citing 84 reasons in a detailed 13-page letter.

The move came amidst relentless attacks on CCC by self-imposed secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu, who initiated recalls of CCC MPs and councillors.

Expressing gratitude for the support from Zimbabweans, Chamisa recounted a series of challenges faced by his political journey, from the MDC-T to MDC-Alliance and, most recently, CCC.

He highlighted the loss of headquarters, assets, finances, and political party funding, along with the recall of over 25 MPs from Parliament.

Despite the setbacks, Chamisa founded CCC from scratch.

In his X post, Chamisa lamented the continued efforts to degrade, demean, defocus, weaken, and destroy his political endeavors.

He went on to disclose receiving threats on his life in 2024, adding to the series of challenges he has faced.

The ongoing by-elections held last November and on February 3 aimed to fill vacant seats resulting from Tshabangu’s recalls.

Prior to Chamisa’s resignation, Tshabangu had already threatened more recalls of CCC MPs in the coming year.

Responding to the revelations, Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi stated that the police were not aware of any death threats against Chamisa.

Despite the denial from the police, Chamisa’s resignation letter emphasized the challenges faced by the opposition, including infiltration from Zanu PF, allegations that the ruling party has consistently refuted.

In a separate development, ruling party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa issued a threat of arrest against Chamisa over alleged misappropriation of CCC’s funds and assets on Saturday.

The political landscape in Zimbabwe remains tense as key figures engage in a war of words and legal threats.

BREAKING: Blow To Tshabangu As Mkwananzi Is Announced New CCC President

Unprecedented Power Shift in CCC as Spokesman Declares Acting Presidency**

By Dorrothy Moyo | In an unexpected and dramatic development within the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), the party’s spokesman, Mr. Promise Mkwananzi, has declared himself the acting president. This bold move comes after the sudden resignation of Nelson Chamisa, the charismatic leader of the CCC, last week.

The announcement was made through a formal letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, marking a significant turn in the party’s internal dynamics. The letter, which has become a topic of intense discussion, states: “Following the resignation of our President Advocate Nelson Chamisa, this letter serves to notify you that the party has resolved that party spokesperson Mr. Promise Mkwananzi takes charge of the Party on an acting capacity until the conduction of congress in due course. This is a position agreed to by all key organs of the party. Accordingly, your esteemed offices are kindly requested to make all correspondence with and from the party through Mr. Promise Mkwananzi.”

This declaration by Mr. Mkwananzi is not just a claim of interim leadership but also an assertion of his control over the party’s communications and strategic direction. It signifies a surprising shift in power and is perceived as a preemptive move against a rival faction within the party, which is expected to announce Chamisa’s successor on Tuesday.

Nelson Chamisa’s departure had left a power vacuum in the CCC. The spokesman’s sudden claim to the presidency has added to the turbulence, raising questions about the future course of the party.

Political analysts are keenly observing the situation, noting the significant impact Chamisa had on the party and the political landscape at large. The spokesperson’s self-appointment as acting president, backed by key party organs, indicates a possible realignment of power structures within the CCC.

As the rival faction gears up to announce a new leader, the CCC stands at a pivotal point in its history. The response from other party members, supporters, and the general public to this unexpected development is yet to unfold.

The upcoming days are crucial for the CCC as it navigates this complex and rapidly evolving political scenario. The implications of these internal shifts are significant, not just for the party but also for the broader political dynamics in the region.

Caston Matewu Betrays Chamisa

By- Caston Mateu, a senior member of the CCC has betrayed the former party leader Nelson Chamisa and joined Sengezo Tshabangu.

Mateu has since been appointed the deputy Tshabangu spokesperson, deputising Nqobizitha Mlilo.
In a statement released by Tshabangu, he outlined the party’s commitment to rebuilding its structures as a foundational step towards achieving democratic goals.
“The decision to appoint Cde Mlilo as the head of communications reflects a deliberate effort to enhance the party’s public relations and messaging capabilities,” said Tshabangu.
He further claimed, “We’re unstoppable and with unity, we’ll succeed.”
Tshabangu also clarified certain leadership positions within CCC, notably addressing the role of Madam Lynette Karenyi-Kore.

CCC MPs who Secretly Ganged Up With Mnangagwa’s Lawyer To Falsely Accuse Chamisa Of Dictatorship

By Investigative Reporter | Analysis | CCC MPs who secretly connived with Emmerson Mnangagwa’s lawyer to betray their voters are ganging up with an award winning internet-Daddy-character to accuse the nation’s most popular leader Nelson Chamisa of causing their own confusion.

– Today, ZimEye resumes broadcast evidence of CCC MPs revealing that their decision to remain in parliament despite their leader @nelsonchamisa’s exit from the contaminated party, is all due to the treacherous CCC MPs’ own unilateral decisions as they work hand in hand with the terror organisation, FAZ, amid dictations/instructions from Emmerson Mnangagwa’s lawyer Lewis Uriri. The CCC MPs’ hurried decisions to work with Mnangagwa’s lawyer, have created confusion in a development that has Chamisa describing them as fraudsters and “beneficiaries of fraud.”

In the interviews being broadcast, an elected MP states unequivocally that FAZ is involved and that there is a USD5000 bribe that has been dangled.

“They then said to me, “be our foot soldier and we won’t oppose you in court. We will then announce that you are saved from the recall.” “They told me to bring US5,000 and we won’t oppose your papers,” one of the elected legislators speaks out saying.

Aside evidence uncovered by ZimEye, are LIVE recordings of Sengezo Tshabangu speaking directly to our undercover reporter, in a pile that shows that the remaining MPs chose to follow dictations by ZANU PF agents’ long drawn operation, nothing to do with Chamisa action or inaction.

All this comes as the self confessing “Daddy” thug has throughout the weekend been announcing govt newspaper Herald findings that say Nelson Chamisa has caused stagnation of action on CCC MPs who have decided to stay inside parliament because he did not consult them, are an accurate record and the work of journalism, in the face of clear revelations since Oct 2023 that show that it is in fact the CCC MPs who secretly connived with ZANU PF against Chamisa.

Meanwhile, the online-thug who makes citizens call him by a gangsterish salutation, “Daddy” proven in multiple prosecutions around the world to manipulate the will-power of rape victims, has a long 6 year history to date of instructing the military to regularly descend on Nelson Chamisa aligned civil society tortured victims at their doctors’ safe houses in order to reduce tension, and he rose to stardom after getting arrested by the same military regime over totally-dismissable charges of incitement to violence.

He also has a reputation of forcing his political views against Chamisa’s reputation onto crowds by shutting discussions through boasts about personal wealth and yet he has flopped the most basic proceeds of crime test done by his former employers when he failed to among other things, declare the name of the UK institution he claims funded his sportscar lifestyle at the age of 25, with which he regularly name-drops a Harare based Dr Maboreke’s name amid complaints by the medic’s family over his attempts to validate the multi million dollar wealth he acquired during the time he changed his own name, and when most of his best friends got convicted of cheque fraud.

Masvingo Kudyanana Zviweti Girls Freed

Masvingo- Magistrate Elizabeth Hanzi has removed Masvingo ‘lesbians’ Flora Tofa (24) and heavily pregnant Nyasha Chabika (24) from remand this morning. Their case will proceed by means of summons when the State has finished building a case against them.
She freed them after their lawyer Tatenda Nyoka argued that the State is yet to come up with a charge and the duo is pointlessly coming to court to be further remanded.
He also produced a medical affidavit stating that Nyasha is heavily pregnant and will give birth soon.
“We have attended all court sessions and the State is yet to serve my clients. They should be removed from remand and the State can summon them when it has a case. Nyasha is pregnant and about to give birth, there is no point in them continually coming to court just to be further remanded,” argued Nyoka.
The duo’s mobile phones that were seized by Police and their ZWL$100 000 bail have been returned to them.
Nyasha and Flora have been appeared before Magistrate Hanzi four times since December 2, 2023, when they were arrested. They have been further remanded on three occasions as the State is still preparing a case against them.
The two were arrested by the Police and charged with violating Section 13 (1) of the Censorship and Entertainment Act, Chapter 10: 04 (publishing the video)
Godknows Mugondo prosecuted.

Obert Gutu Kicked Out Of WhatsApp Group For Attacking Chamisa

By Political Editor-Former MDC-T spokesperson turned Zanu PF supporter Obert Gutu has been removed from his Chisipite home WhatsApp group after his outspoken comments against ex-Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa.

Chamisa recently departed from CCC, citing infiltration by Zanu PF through Sengezo Tshabangu.

Tshabangu, self-proclaimed interim secretary-general, has been utilising this fake position to recall elected party officials since the August 2023 general polls, with the approval of the courts.

Gutu, known for defecting from the opposition to Zanu PF three years ago, disclosed that he was removed from his local communication platform after cautioning against posting Chamisa-related content.

Here is Gutu’s full story he narrated on his X account:

I reside in Ward 7, City of Harare. I have been a resident since 2001. There’s a WhatsApp group of residents whose main thrust should be to update members/residents on issues to do with rates, water, security etc, relating to our Ward. The WhatsApp group isn’t supposed to be a political platform.

Yesterday, Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Ward 7 Councillor posted a politically charged message concerning the goings-on in her political party/political group. I then posted a message complaining that the WhatsApp group shouldn’t be used for politicking and/or dessiminatimg political party messages. And then all hell broke loose! The WhatsApp group Admin, an oldish white lady & some of her vociferous colleagues, then came out guns blazing supporting the Ward Councillor for posting political messages in the residents WhatsApp group. Naturally, I stood my ground & protested, vociferously, that there had to be tolerance in the group & that political messages shouldn’t be allowed. The white WhatsApp group Admin then removed me from the group. I’m not particularly bothered by that intolerant, rather racist move, because I had already strongly delivered my message home. So much for the racist Rhodesian mentality that is still pervading in certain sections of our localities ; more than 43 years after Zimbabwe attained independence!

Death Threats To President Chamisa…

Chamisa remains optimistic, proclaiming, “Our day is soon coming!!! God bless you!”

The statement underscores the ongoing challenges faced by political opposition in Zimbabwe and raises concerns about the state of democracy in the nation.

NPA Stops Prosecution Of Human Rights Lawyers

By A Correspondent| The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has stopped the prosecution of two human rights lawyers, who were scheduled to stand trial for allegedly defeating or obstructing the course of justice, after withdrawing charges against the duo.

The two human rights lawyers, Tapiwa Muchineripi and Douglas Coltart, who are members of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, were arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers on Monday 4 September 2023 and were charged with defeating or obstructing the course of justice as defined in section 184 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

Prosecutors alleged that Muchineripi and Coltart obstructed some ZRP officers from having access to interview Womberaiishe Nhende, the Councillor for Ward 26 in Glen Norah suburb in Harare and Sanele Mukhuhlani, who were victims of suspected kidnapping and malicious damage to property, and who at the time were admitted at a medical facility in the capital city.

The human rights lawyers, who were at the medical facility, with Nhende and Mukhuhlani, were accused of blocking ZRP officers from questioning their two clients, who were left hospitalised after they were abducted and tortured by some unidentified people, who injected an unknown substance into their bodies before dumping them in Mashonaland West province.

But on Friday 26 January 2024, the NPA withdrew charges against the duo citing lack of evidence to sustain prosecuting the human rights lawyers.

Muchineripi and Coltart were represented by Alec Muchadehama of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and appeared before Harare Magistrate Ethel Chichera.

Minister Dumps Wife Of 15 Years For A University Slay Queen

Environment minister and Zanu PF Matabeleland South chairman Mangaliso Ndlovu was accused of “abandoning” his family on Sunday and moving in with his new flame – a young woman he met while she was on attachment at the tourism ministry.

Ndlovu and his family have a home in Montgomery in Bulawayo, where his wife Gugulethu Ndlovu, nee Mpofu, currently lives with their two daughters.

ZimLive can now reveal that police officers who were guarding the residence were withdrawn in December, it is believed on Ndlovu’s instructions.

Ministers are provided security for a maximum of two properties – their official houses in Harare and a second property of their choosing, typically a farm or primary residence when not in Harare.

A source briefed on the development said: “He now stays with his lover in Harare, at the new house he recently received from the government. He has abandoned his family in Bulawayo.”

The minister’s lover has been named as Precious Vimbai Matsinde, who now has a child with him.

“She was a student on attachment at the tourism ministry while he was still minister there and they immediately hit it off. She was there barely two months, because she arrived at the end of her industrial attachment period,” a source said.

Ndlovu, the son of Zanu PF Matabeleland South senator Richard Ndlovu, has been married to his wife for over 15 years.

The minister told our reporter: “You surely have better things to do with your life, get on with them.”

Gugulethu said: “I have no comment. Talk to your source and the people concerned. I want no part of it.”

Questions left for Matsinde had not been answered.

Ex-MDC Spokesman, Obert Gutu, Loses WhatsApp Group Membership Over Anti-Chamisa Posts

Arresting Chamisa Big Blow for Mnangagwa

Controversial Plan to Arrest Nelson Chamisa Risks Major Political Fallout.

By Dorrothy Moyo | Harare, Zimbabwe* – A potentially explosive political situation is unfolding in Zimbabwe as plans to arrest opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa are being met with severe criticism and warnings of significant repercussions. This controversial strategy, allegedly orchestrated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration, is garnering widespread attention and concern.

Recent developments have come to light through a leaked social media video in which ZanuPF spokesperson Mr. Mutsvangwa is heard discussing plans to report Chamisa to the police, accusing him of misusing funds from his party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Additionally, another video features Tshabangu asserting intentions to seize all CCC assets currently under Chamisa’s control.

This strategy, however, is being met with stark warnings from political analysts, including Ibbo Mandaza. Mandaza argues that arresting Chamisa could lead to disastrous consequences for President Mnangagwa’s government. Drawing parallels with former President Mugabe’s arrest of Morgan Tsvingirai before the 2008 elections, Mandaza suggests that such a move would be perceived as severe political persecution of Zimbabwe’s most popular opposition leader.

“By arresting Nelson just like what Mugabe did to Tsvangirai before 2008 elections is going to be regarded as a serious political persecution… and will draw internal and external pressure which will eventually remove Mnangagwa from power,” Mandaza explained.

He further emphasized the potential for this action to “set the country, which is already in the heat, into the fire.” Mandaza warned that such a move could not only destabilize Zimbabwe but also attract the attention and condemnation of regional bodies like the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union, especially against the backdrop of the disputed 2023 elections.

The situation poses a significant test for Zimbabwe’s political stability and governance, with the potential to escalate tensions and draw international scrutiny. The planned arrest of Chamisa, according to Mandaza and other political observers, is not just a risky move for Mnangagwa’s government but could also mark a critical turning point in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

Citizens Urged To Stand With Nelson Chamisa

Tinashe Sambiri

In the tumultuous landscape of Zimbabwean politics, one figure stands out as a beacon of citizens’ principles – Nelson Chamisa.

As the nation grapples with the intricacies of political manoeuvering, seasoned political analyst Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya sheds light on the ongoing dynamics within the CCC regime and the challenges faced by its leader, Tshabangu.

Dr Ruhanya points out a fundamental issue with Tshabangu and his CCC regime agents – a misguided perception that they are merely combating Nelson Chamisa.

“What they seem to overlook is that Chamisa is not an agent of any political faction; rather, he is a representative of the masses, the millions who cast their votes in his favor, the councilors, the Members of Parliament, and senators.

Chamisa’s political legitimacy derives from the unwavering support of the people, making him a true bearer of citizens’ principles.

His commitment to democratic ideals and the will of the electorate has established him as a leader with a genuine mandate from the public.”

As Tshabangu and his associates engage in political manoeuvers within the CCC, Dr Ruhanya calls for scrutiny of Chamisa’s successor within the party.

” The focus should extend beyond the individual and delve into the strategic national agenda that the successor intends to pursue. Particularly, there is a pressing need to address the significant damage inflicted by ZANU PF’s infiltration, orchestrated by Tshabangu, which has resulted in the regrettable recalls of elected officials, “said Dr Ruhanya on X.

The impact of these regime-inspired recalls on the democratic fabric of the CCC cannot be underestimated.

It raises questions about the party’s resilience against external influences and the safeguarding of its original principles.

The successor to Chamisa must navigate these challenges with a strategic vision that upholds the party’s integrity and remains true to the aspirations of the citizens who vested their trust in the CCC.

Nelson Chamisa’s role transcends mere party politics; he symbolizes the hopes and aspirations of the Zimbabwean people.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, it becomes imperative to uphold citizens’ principles and ensure that any leadership transition within the CCC aligns with the broader national agenda and effectively addresses the challenges posed by external interference.

Perrance Shiri Daughter Escapes Charges

Daughter of Late Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri Acquitted of Fraud Charges

Harare, Zimbabwe–Stephanie Rufaro Shiri, the daughter of the late national hero Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri (Rtd), has been acquitted of charges of fraud and forging a birth certificate. The ruling, delivered by Chief Magistrate Mrs. Faith Mushure last Friday, came after the State failed to substantiate its allegations against Stephanie’s “half-sister,” Stephan Tanaka Musvamhiri.

The Chief Magistrate concluded the State’s case, represented by Ms. Ruvimbo Matyatya, was insufficient in proving that Ms. Musvamhiri had fraudulently altered her birth certificate or DNA test results to claim a share of the late Air Chief Marshal’s estate. “The State failed to give evidence that the accused had entered her name through fraudulent means to the executor,” Mrs. Mushure stated, highlighting the absence of crucial testimony from the executor of the estate.

Regarding the alleged forgery of the birth certificate, the Chief Magistrate noted that Ms. Musvamhiri could not be held responsible for discrepancies in addresses, as these were added by her maternal grandmother during her childhood. Additionally, the State’s failure to bring forward a witness from Global DNA left the allegation of fake DNA results unsubstantiated, affirming Ms. Musvamhiri as the biological daughter of Air Chief Marshal Shiri.

The background of the case involves Stephanie Rufaro Shiri bringing charges against Ms. Musvamhiri, alleging fraudulent activities that could have prejudiced the beneficiaries of the estate to the tune of US$124,663. In a second charge, it was claimed that Ms. Musvamhiri provided a false address when replacing her lost birth certificate.

Ms. Musvamhiri, defended by lawyer Mr. Arshiel Mugiya, denied these allegations, asserting that Stephanie Rufaro Shiri was attempting to disinherit other biological children of the late Air Chief Marshal. The defense also mentioned the previous arrest of another sibling, Tawanda Zulu, as part of these efforts.

This acquittal marks a crucial development in the legal battles surrounding the estate of the late Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri, shining a light on the complexities and challenges within family inheritance disputes. The outcome has significant implications for the Shiri family and sets a precedent in cases of estate inheritance in Zimbabwe.- Agencies
