Latest On Cop Who Died In S_xual Act

By A Correspondent- The lover of a policeman who reportedly died during a sexual act in a car at Chirunga Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza’s Unit K suburb on Sunday night says she is traumatised by the sad development.

Makomborero Mazowe of Tomlinson Depot under escorts died during a ‘hand job’ with Cindy Vhutuza, 26 of Unit J.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the death saying investigations to establish cause had since begun.

“Police is investigating death of a police officer in Chitungwiza,” said Ass Comm Nyathi. “The deceased was in the company of a woman in a parked car at Chirunga Business Centre,” he said.
Vhutuza told H-Metro that she refused to have sex with Mazowe without being tested for HIV.
“I experienced a terrible situation with Mazowe,” said Vhutuza. “We spent the better part of the day talking and listening to music. We had no money so I collected dried ground nuts and a water melon and that was that.
“I was behind the wheel when we parked the car at the shops close to a police station. Mazowe wanted to have sex with me but I refused arguing that we had to go for HIV testing first.

“He insisted saying he was too horny and opted to discharge through a hand job. I assisted him but he never discharged instead he got into a trance as if he was having sex and produced an unfamiliar sound.
“I became frightened and called for help from a passer-by. I sought help from a licensed driver to take us to a doctor but we did not get one,” said Vhutuza.
Vhutuza, an ardent follower of Mwazha church, expressed her innocence in the tragedy narrating how she met Mazowe near Africa Unit Square sometime in July this year.
“I only learnt that he was married after his death. He told me that he had separated with his wife and he would communicate with me calling during odd hours.
“I am emotionally spent and struggling to accept how my love ended in such a way,” said Vhutuza.

Residents Stop Chinese From Destroying Dangamvura Mountain

By A Correspondent- A Chinese mining company, Freestone Mines, has removed its mining equipment from the deforested Dangamvura Mountain in Mutare where it wants to set up a quarry stone mine.

The company was forced to withdraw the equipment from the site as enraged residents demanded that the miner stop its operations as the venture was near a residential area and water distribution pipes.

Mutare City leased its 6.5-hectare stand situated on Dangamvura Mountain to Freestone Mines.

According to a 10-year lease agreement seen by NewZimbabwe.com, Freestone Mines would pay the municipality US$7 557 in annual rentals.

However, the Mutare City deputy director of engineering services, Tonderai Sango, Friday confirmed during a full council meeting Freestone mines had violated the lease agreement by starting works without an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) certificate and approval from the city engineer.

Freestone Mines director Ruoxin Qi confirmed Monday to NewZimbabwe.com they had removed all equipment from the site in compliance with the Local Government Ministry’s directive. Qi said:

We have withdrawn all our equipment from the site to show that we are 100% following the order from the local government.

We shall be heavily involved in re-greening the city as part of the corporate social responsibility. We intend to start tree planting city-wide, starting with Dangamvura Mountain so that we restore the environment and that will also act as a shield in terms of dust prevention.

Qi added that they will use part of the quarry stones for road construction and will also deploy technology aimed at reducing the negative effects of quarry stone mining including dust, blasting noise, and vibration.

He also noted that the company intends to engage relevant stakeholders so as to ensure that they have an appreciation of the project scope.

Fire Guts Mvurwi Hospital, Destroys Covid-19 Drugs

By A Correspondent- Drugs worth thousands of dollars, including over two thousand COVID-19 doses have been destroyed after Shamva District Hospital was gutted by fire this Tuesday.

ZBC News arrived at the scene and witnessed the fire brigade putting out the fire, which is suspected to have begun at around three am.

Shamva District Development Coordinator, Mr White Nkoma described the incident as a loss to the entire district since the hospital serves as a referral centre for 18 health centres covering a population of 123 000 people.

Earlier this year, 39 health workers and their families were left homeless after a massive fire destroyed their living quarters at Mpilo Central Hospital.

The estimated cost of damage to property as a result of the inferno at Mpilo was estimated at US$ 500 000.00.

The institution had also suffered another setback in 2018 after a fire broke out at the doctors’ quarters and destroyed properties worth thousands of dollars.

In June this year, a fire destroyed staff quarters at Kwekwe General Hospitalon Tuesday morning, leaving nine families including doctors, physiotherapists, nurses and an administrator without accommodation.

The causes of the fire in these incidents are still unknown but some suspect electrical fault.

Mubhanditi Takes Java To Cleaners

By A Correspondent- Popular Zimdancehall musician Seh Calza says he has lost respect for Passion Java’s controversial preacher, the self-styled prophet.

In an interview with Power FM, this week, Seh Calaz says Passion Java is mad.

This is Calaz’s words:
I now understand his behaviour. He is mad.
He takes everything as jokes but it’s not all matters of life that you can joke about.
I lost respect for him because he claims to be a pastor and yet instead of motivating people he boasts about his wealth
What kind of pastor does that?
I grew up in the ghetto. Does showing off your wealth motivates anyone. How can i motivate young people by calling them thugs while showing off my wealth.
Motivating people and showing off are two different things.

He should also not use his links the (Zanu-PF) party in a wrong way. He uses it to abuse people. A political party doesn’t belong to any single person.
It belongs to the people. Nomatter how wealthy you are, you can’t vote once like everyone else. Even if you have $50 million you can’t vote 10 million times.
You must use a political party to threaten the people. He is mad.

President Chamisa Bemoans Marginalization Of Matabeleland Region

THE MDC ALLIANCE led by Nelson Chamisa has decried continued marginalisation of Matabeleland region and promised to end it if the opposition party is voted into power in 2023.

Chamisa is in Matabeleland where he is meeting rural voters as he drums up support ahead of possible by-elections early next year, and the harmonised elections in 2023.

MDC Alliance deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba told the media on Monday evening that people of Matabeleland were unhappy with the marginalisation of the region.

“So this year we are focusing on the citizens’ convergence for change and the philosophical underpinning of this annual theme is that we are taking the party back to its roots, which is the people,” he said.

“So we are taking the party back to its founding social forces, these social forces are the students, labour, church, traditional leaders, and community leaders.

“The first issue that emerged in Matabeleland was marginalisation.

“There is overwhelming consensus around the question of underdevelopment of these provinces which community leaders have conviction that it is marginalisation because of the structure and design of our politics in this country.

“Number two was the issue of marginalisation of languages in the province.”

Siziba said once Chamisa’s party wins the 2023 elections, it would end underdevelopment of Matabeleland and side-lining of languages in the region, particularly Ndebele, Kalanga and Tonga.

“The president and the leadership of the party responded to these key questions during the interface and of course got the opportunity to share with the communities in and around our party’s view, around key issues like the party’s name, and how we intend to deploy candidates.

“One of the predominant issues that came from community leaders is that they do not want candidates imported to lead them. So the party has responded by proposing a community-based candidate selection programme. So this time we are not going to be having primary elections as a party,” he said. – NewsDay

Covid-19 Scare At SK Burial

By A Correspondent- Zanu PF Tuesday exposed the public to Covid-19 after the party mobilized thousands of its supporters to witness Simon Khaya Moyo’s burial at the National Heroes Acre.

This happened despite warnings by local health experts that a fourth wave of the respiratory virus could hit the country during the December festive season due to complacency and failure to observe World Health Organisation-stipulated safety protocols.

Moyo succumbed to cancer at the Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo last week. He was 76.

The Zanu PF spokesperson was buried at the national shrine with thousands of Zanu PF supporters in attendance.\xa0 The mourners were not observing social distancing, while several of them were improperly wearing their masks.
Only the party leadership in the front seats were socially distanced and had their face masks on.

Mnangagwa has been addressing rallies across the country amid fears that they could be super spreaders of COVID-19.

His MDC Alliance counterpart Nelson Chamisa has also been on a whirlwind tour of rural areas where he is meeting party supporters.

In his address, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the country should be on high alert of more infections ahead of the festive season.
“As we approach the festive season, I call upon you, fellow countrymen and women to continue complying with the WHO public health protocols, guidelines and procedures for containing the COVID-19 pandemic. We must never let our guard down,” he said, urging those yet to be vaccinated to do so.

ZEC Not Independent At All

The dubious suspension of the December 6th 2021 voter registration blitz is clear rigging by Zec! Mdc Alliance Namibia fumes.

24 November 2021

Mdc Alliance Namibia absolutely condemns the suspension of the December 6th voter registration blitz aimed at making sure that virgin voters especially the millennial generation register to vote in their numbers in 2022 and 2023. This is a clear sign that Zec is not independent! Zec is now an undoubted Zanupf appendage. This should be constitutionally contested in captured courts and in the streets! Voting is part of independence! The right to vote is enshrined in our 2013 constitution. Lets commit to defend Constitutionalism and the rule of law. ZanuPF should divorce itself from the operations of Zec. Rigging of the people’s vote has just started. Social democrats should democratically pent up their outrage demanding justice to the people’s voices.

It’s satanic to continue muzzling the democratic space in Zimbabwe. We demand our voting rights! That was one of the main reasons why we went to the liberation war to enjoy the universal fundamental basic right to vote. Zec must respect the people of Zimbabwe, one man one vote is a significant provision in the supreme law of the country. The people of Zimbabwe deserve their full voting rights as a sign of independence. We expect ZEC to represent and protect civic and political rights than meddling in politics as a Zanupf enabler.

We say no to the suspension of the much needed voter registration blitz. Zec should put the constitution first before receiving bribes and threats from the desperate Zanupf regime. Mdc Alliance Namibia District urges all Zimbabweans across the globe to rise up in defence of Constitutional Democracy. It is clear that Zanupf has just pressed the panic button after witnessing the revolutionary appetite in the millennial generation through mass mobilisation from the opposition and civic societies. The citizens interface that the political behemoth (Mdc Alliance) is currently undertaking driven by the energetic and dynamic President Advocate Nelson Chamisa Wamba Dia Wamba scared the Harare regime. They unleashed unprecedented state-sponsored violence in Masvingo, Manicaland and in Matebeleland to deter social democrats across the breadths and lengths of Zimbabwe.

The extreme determination in the youths should not compel Zec to postpone the due process of voter registration blitz to avert voter apathy. Change agents in Zimbabwe and the diaspora should come clear demanding justice to both virgin voters and all time voters. We are concerned as one of the diaspora assemblies because our real plan was to use the festive season to intensify our registration campaign as an integral part of #CitizensConvergenceForChange.

We remain committed to the national democratic revolution that’s why we don’t halt to say #NgaapindeHakeMukomana.

In a nutshell, Mdc Alliance Namibia’s serious message to Priscilla Chigumba and cabal is that Zimbabwe does not belong to Zanupf neither does it belong to ZEC. We shall continue demanding accountability and transparency from the captured electoral body which defends Zanupf cabal at the expense of the voice of the people. Our encouragement is that lets remain resolutely behind the reform agenda as Citizens Converge for Complete Change.

ZEC should stop playing with people’s lives! We are ready to surrender ourselves before we surrender our fight for free, fair and credible elections. We are cognisant of the fact that the world is ruled by those who show on the registration day, verification of the name, voting for change on the day in question and readiness to defend the vote. A New Great Zimbabwe is possible in our lifetime under the leadership of our political dynamo President Advocate Nelson Chamisa. Ngaapinde Hake Mukomana fullstop.

Zidane To Replace Solskjaer?

Manchester United have begun their hunt for a new coach following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking on Sunday.

The Norwegian was fired from his position as head coach of the Red Devils after a string of poor performances. Assistant coach Michael Carrick was named interim manager for the upcoming games – with an interim manager to be appointed until the end of the season.

Several names have come up in media speculation, including former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman has been out of work since last season and was constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford on previous occasions.

PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino, who was reportedly interested in the job, at several points, during Solskjaer’s reign, is among the top candidates for the United job.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, French coach Laurent Blanc have also been linked to the top post at Old Trafford.

Also on the list is Carrick, who could become the full-time boss if he can steady the ship and turn results around. – Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Lightning Strikes Masvingo Vendor

MASVINGO – Lightning rarely strike in cities but a vendor at Chitima, the biggest market place in Masvingo was struck and killed yesterday while in the company of his wife, child and three other vendors.

Tichaona Manyonga (35) was struck soon after having his plate of sadza prepared for him by his wife Tichaona Saizi and was pronounced dead on arrival at Masvingo Provincial Hospital.

Masvingo Police Spokesperson Kudakwashe Dhewa had no details at the time of going to Press.

The chairman of the traders Godfrey Mudhumo confirmed the incident and added that vendors are now afraid to work at the place. He would not say whether the vendors are going to have a lightning conductor installed or not.

Eyewitnesses told The Mirror that all the five fell to the ground when the lighting struck. The incident happened at around 3pm.

Manyonga’s sister Merjury Manyonga told The Mirror in an interview that her brother was struck by lightning as he entered his shed from the toilet where he had gone to wash his hands after eating sadza.

He will be buried at Mayo Village 1 near Gokomere.
A vendor said that the ground was damp and that probably acted as the conductor of the lightning that killed Manyonga
“We were five when the incident happened. I still don’t know or understand what happened because it lasted a few seconds.

We were all thrown to the ground and I couldn’t breathe. When we got up we called out for help after noticing that Manyonga was bleeding and unconscious.

“One of the women who was there complained that her legs were numb,” said Miriam Chiware who has a vending table next to Manyonga.
Jason Mandizvidza said the deceased’s shirt was torn at the front and he was bleeding from the forehead.

Mourners are gathered at house number 1508, Tangwena Street in Sisk.
Some vendors suspect witchcraft.
“We believe someone used black magic to kill him,” said another vendor who spoke in condition of anonymity.- Masvingo Mirror

About Cervical Cancer Prevention

New HPV vaccine prequalification aims to rectify gross inequities in access to lifesaving tools
New R&D recommendations for artificial intelligence-based screening technologies
New investments and commitments by the French government’s L’Initiative facility, FIND, University of Miami, WHO

WHO joins advocates around the world to commemorate a landmark Day of Action for Cervical Cancer Elimination and welcome groundbreaking new initiatives to end this devastating disease, which claims the lives of over 300 000 women each year.

As with COVID-19, access to lifesaving tools is constrained, with women and adolescent girls in the poorest countries deprived of clinical screening facilities, human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines and treatments which those in affluent places take for granted.

The disparity between deaths from cervical cancer in high-income compared with low-income countries tells a stark story, similar to that we have seen during the pandemic, with 9 in 10 deaths from cervical cancer happening in low and middle-income countries.

Over the last decade, manufacturers have tilted supply toward wealthier locations. In 2020, just 13% of girls aged 9–14 years globally were vaccinated against HPV – the virus that causes almost all cases of cervical cancer.

Around 80 countries – home to nearly two thirds of the global cervical cancer burden – are yet to introduce this lifesaving vaccine.

During this special day, WHO’s Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, together with celebrities, first ladies, cancer survivors and health and community organizations, will help raise awareness and mobilize action – one year after WHO launched its landmark global initiative to eliminate cervical cancer.

WHO is also highlighting important new breakthroughs to prevent and treat the disease, including the prequalification of a fourth vaccine (Cecolin from a third manufacturer, Innovax) for HPV, which is expected to increase and diversify vital vaccination supply.

“Cervical cancer causes immense suffering, but it’s almost completely preventable and, if diagnosed early enough, one of the most successfully treatable cancers,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. “We have the tools to make cervical cancer history, but only if we make those tools available to everyone who needs them. Together with our partners in the WHO cervical cancer elimination initiative, that’s what we aim to do.”

The risk of cervical cancer increases six-fold for women living with HIV, but many have not had access to vaccination or screenings.

Tackling cervical cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic
Dr Tedros applauded countries that have adopted innovative ways to increase access to technologies and services that can stop cervical cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the past year, the HPV vaccine was introduced in seven countries – Cameroon, Cape Verde, El Salvador, Mauritania, Qatar, Sao Tome and Principe, and Tuvalu – bringing the total to 115.

Some countries trained healthcare workers with newer, portable devices to thermally ablate precancers. Others expanded the use of self-sampling – endorsed in recently published WHO guidelines – to allow women to collect their own cervical swab. This option can reduce stigma for women, provides access to those living far from health facilities, and helps congested health centres maintain safe services while respecting COVID-19 safety measures. The self-collected sample can be run on the same laboratory platforms that countries have been investing in to support PCR testing for COVID-19.

But setbacks have occurred. Access to screening services has fallen for many women and in a recent survey, 43% of countries reported disruption to cancer treatment. Meanwhile HPV vaccination rates globally fell from 15% in 2019 to 13% in 2020, amidst health service disruptions and school closures.

“There has been important progress towards cervical cancer elimination even over this unprecedented year,” said Dr Princess Nono Simelela, Special Advisor to the Director-General on Strategic Priorities, including Cervical Cancer Elimination. “While we have seen major advances in new technologies and research, the critical next step is to ensure these are designed for and accessible in low- and middle-income countries, and that the health and rights of women and girls everywhere are prioritized in the recovery from COVID-19.”

New technologies, investments and research to aid the fight against cervical cancer
Adding to important milestones achieved over the course of the past year, today WHO is releasing new recommendations to guide research into artificial intelligence (AI)-based screening technologies. This first-of-its-kind guidance supports developers to bring cervical cancer screening into the future, and ensure pre-cancers are detected as early as possible.

The first designated “WHO Collaborating Centre for Cervical Cancer Elimination” was also announced at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Centre at the University of Miami, which will be an important site for research and technical assistance to help countries achieve elimination targets.

The Day of Action will encompass a major global event and press availability, organized from WHO headquarters in Geneva. It will feature performances and remarks from cancer survivors and renowned artists such as Angelique Kidjo, as well as community efforts to promote vaccinations and screenings. 100 world monuments are being illuminated in teal – the colour of cervical cancer elimination – to mark the day, from the Temple of Heaven in Beijing to city skylines across Australia and Canada’s Niagara Falls.

“We have the tools and knowledge to eliminate cervical cancer. What we do with that is up to us,” said H.E. Neo Jane Masisi, First Lady of the Republic of Botswana, who is participating in the day’s events. “We can make choices that condemn women to a painful, avoidable death. Or, we can prioritize their health, so that a future generation of women and their families look back with pride at the choices we made today.”

Several partners also announced important global commitments and investments during the day’s events:

FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics, announced the launch of a new initiative to improve cervical cancer testing and screening using innovative technologies in low- and middle-income countries;
Unitaid reaffirmed its commitment to lay the groundwork for wide-scale adoption of innovative cervical cancer screening and treatment tools – and is on track to reach one million women by 2022, despite COVID-19;
The French government’s L’Initiative facility, implemented by Expertise France, will announce a reinforcement of the support, including operational research, to countries with high comorbidity and coinfection of HIV and HPV-associated cancers.

Zim Trucker Nabbed For “Running” Over SA Cop

A 31-year-old Zimbabwean truck driver, Tonderai Moshayi, has been arrested for attempting to run over a traffic police officer at the Mozambique and South Africa border last week.
His fellow countryman, Patrick Ncube (31), was also arrested on Friday after he attempted to bribe a senior traffic police officer in the Komatipoort area to secure Moshayi’s release with 4000 rand.
The matter is now under investigation by South Africa’s organised crime unit, the Hawks.

Hawks spokesperson for Mpumalanga, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said the duo was expected to make their formal bail application at the Komatipoort Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
“It is alleged that on November 17, 2021, Tonderai Moshayi from Zimbabwe, who is a truck driver was at Lebombo port of entry when he by-passed other truck drivers who had queued for their turn to cross the border.
He was stopped by the traffic police for a routine inspection of the truck. When the routine check was done, it was discovered that the truck had an expired disc,” she said.
Patrick Ncube
After which, Moshayi was asked about the documents of the truck, and he became violent and drove away nearly running over the traffic officer.

He was then pursued and he stopped the truck, and locked himself inside the truck, refusing to talk to the traffic police officers.
The man only gave in at the persuasion of his employer in Limpopo province.
He was arrested and charged for attempted murder and operating an un-roadworthy vehicle.
“On the following day, other Zimbabwean truck drivers contributed an amount of R4 000 and allegedly went to approach the traffic officer, who had arrested Moshayi to secure his release.
It is further alleged that they initially promised to give R10 000. The traffic officer reported to the Hawks that he was being offered a bribe and a trap was set leading to Ncube’s arrest when he came to deliver the bribe money,” said Capt Sekgotodi.

Hwange Villagers Confront Chinese Miners

By A Correspondent- Residents of Hwange are up in arms with a Chinese company, Mutagech Mine, which they accuse of starting operations without consulting the community.

Mutagech Mine has embarked on a coal-mining project in Hwange.

In the Dinde area of Hwange, villagers have also been fighting a Chinese coal-mining project which is likely to displace them. Greater Whange Residents Trust co-ordinator Fedelis Chima yesterday told NewsDay that the company was given a special mining grant several years ago, but decided to resume mining activities this year without consulting them in line with the Environmental Management Agency (Ema) requirements.

“The company was given a special grant by the government about 10 years ago. The problem started this year when it wanted to resume mining operations. During the environmental impact assessment process, it only consulted a section of traditional leaders, leaving out a lot of other people.

We are not happy about this. It is using COVID-19 as a scapegoat.

We want the country to provide us with its project description so that we know about their environmental plans,’’ Chima said.

Ward 20 councillor Ishmael Kwidini said: “The mining venture is going to affect a lot of villagers.

“For example, ward 12 villagers are going to be affected more than those in ward 20. The company only consulted some ward 20 villagers and did not consult ward 12 villagers.

“It is difficult to co-exist with such a venture because it is clear that our grazing land and fields are going to be affected big time.’’

Sources told NewsDay that the leaders who were consulted by the company were given bicycles as inducements.

Mutagech project manager Donald Nkosana denied any wrongdoing.

“I have not heard about those complaints. The consultation process was done and so far we are at the project phase,’’ he said.

BREAKING… Shamva Hospital In Flames

Latest On US Dollar Civil Servants Bonus

By A Correspondent-Civil servants will have their US dollar bonuses calculated on the conversion rate of $97,1361 to the US dollar, the rate existing when the decision was made.

The bonus will include the total of the basic salary, housing allowance and transport allowance, civil service union leaders announced yesterday.
The maximum paid in US dollars is US$700, with anything over that paid in local currency.
With the exchange rate being used, this means that everything in the combined figure up to $67 995.27 will be paid in US dollars.
Zimbabwe Confederation of Public Sector Trade Unions (ZCPSTU) president Ms Cecilia Alexander, in a statement after the end of yesterday’s National Joint Negotiation Council, said the bonus will be deposited into the civil servants’ nostro accounts, which every public servant has, and will be accessed as US$ and the back dated bank charges will be dealt with by monetary authorities.
Ms Alexander said the council meeting received an update on modalities on how the US dollar bonus payments are going to be administered.
The bulk of civil servants will start receiving their US dollar bonus payments this week, with most expected to be paid this month while the rest are expected to receive their money before the end of the year.
President Mnangagwa’s administration announced the expected payment to cushion the public servants from fluctuations in the exchange rates.
Speaking to our sister paper last week, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Professor Paul Mavima confirmed the expected payments will be starting this week.
“In fact the money (bonus) should have come in with the November salary, but it will start reflecting in bank accounts this week or before the end of the month.
“Normally it is those in the education sector that start receiving and from my understanding the bulk of the civil servants will receive their bonus this month and the rest next month,” he said.
Unlike the Covid-19 allowances set in US dollars, but paid in the local currency equivalent at the prevailing formal market rate, the bonus will be delivered in hard currency.

Mnangagwa Drunk Video Haunts Government

By A Correspondent-A video of President Emmerson Mnangagwa being assisted to the podium to address delegates at a function at State House at the weekend has given his aides troubled times who continue to defend it on social media.

The video has been making rounds since Sunday.

It invited critics to make him a subject of jokes on several social media platforms.

The video was taken during the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa University of Zambia scholarship programme that will benefit Zimbabwean and Zambian students.

Critics made fun of Mnangagwa’s video. He looked seemingly tired and had to be assisted to walk to the podium by Sports deputy minister Tino Machakaire and businessman Farai Matsika.

Nick Mangwana has, since the weekend, been trying to defend the video.

Cop S-x Car Death, Lover Narrates Ordeal

FIFA To Make Decision On Ghana, SA Tie

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee will meet today to decide on South African Football Association’s case regarding the World Cup Qualifying match against Ghana.

SAFA made an official complaint to the world football body about the “questionable decisions” made by referee Maguette Ndiaye in Bafana Bafana’s 1-0 loss to the Black Stars.

The FA suspects that the match may have been fixed, and it asked Fifa to investigate.

The protest was backed by a report compiled by former top referee Ace Ncobo, noting how Ndiaye handled the match in Cape Coast.

A decision will be made at a meeting today, and if FIFA dismisses the protest, Ghana will participate in the play-offs of the World Cup qualifiers. – Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Cervical Cancer Is Preventable

FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics, announced the launch of a new initiative to improve cervical cancer testing and screening using innovative technologies in low- and middle-income countries;
Unitaid reaffirmed its commitment to lay the groundwork for wide-scale adoption of innovative cervical cancer screening and treatment tools – and is on track to reach one million women by 2022, despite COVID-19;
The French government’s L’Initiative facility, implemented by Expertise France, will announce a reinforcement of the support, including operational research, to countries with high comorbidity and coinfection of HIV and HPV-associated cancers.

Lightning Kills Masvingo Vendor

Bogus Military Procurement Officer Nabbed

By A Correspondent- A man posing as a military procurement officer robbed 12 companies of Z$6.3 million (about US$60,000) in an elaborate fraud, police said on Monday.

Claiming to be a Sergeant Muriro from Lookout Masuku Barracks (formerly Llewellin Barracks) near Bulawayo, the man called the companies and expressed an interest in awarding them tenders to supply maize-meal to the army.

The companies, carefully picked from the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe register, were advised to call a specific number which the fake soldier said was for a Grain Marketing Board official. The official would confirm that they had sufficient maize-meal for the required order, typically 15 tons.

To complete the order, the companies were each advised to deposit Z$525,000 in various accounts held with banks such as CABS, NMB and First Capital. Sergeant Muriro separately told the company representatives that the army would pay Z$1.4 million for the 15 tons, netting the companies handsome profits.

“Once they had made payment, they were advised to bring all the documents to Lookout Masuku Barracks for the processing of their payment. When the company representatives got to the barracks, they could not find the Sergeant Muriro whose phone was now switched off and he had disappeared,” said acting Bulawayo police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele.

Msebele warned businesses to be vigilant as fraudsters had devised elaborate schemes to steal from them.

“They send purchase order documents which look legit to induce the companies to act on the payments, thinking they have struck a deal. They use various mobile phone numbers and they act like professionals. Once you deposit the money, they withdraw it and vanish,” Msebele said.

“We advise companies to follow tender regulations. They are free to verify suspicious approaches with our commercial division of the police. Our business people must be vigilant, there is no business that is done through the phone,” she added.

Police have appealed for information which can lead to the arrest of the fraudsters.

“MDC Leaders Wasted The Golden Opportunities”

By Patrick Guramatunhu- Zanu PF is a party of thugs who got into politics for the sake of securing political power, absolute power, and the influence and wealth it brings. They don’t care about anything or anyone else.

Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies presented themselves to the nation as the champions fighting to end white colonial rule and securing freedom, justice and economic prosperity for all. This was but a necessary disguise, the wolf in a sheep coat. To the ordinary Zimbabwean, Zanu PF’s 41 year rule has been that of a wolf let loose amongst the helpless sheep.

Shared power, influence and looted wealth is the glue that has held Zanu PF thugs together and stopping them fighting amongst themselves. Wealth is finite and with time the nation’s wealth started to dwindle, especially given the insatiable appetite and wastefulness of the Zanu PF thugs; with the glue gone, the infighting in Zanu PF has gone up through the gears this last decade. It is now overdrive!

“Zimbabwe’s 2017 coup coalition collapses!” screamed the Bulawayo24/The News Hawk headline.

“The fact that Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga is contemplating challenging President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the Zanu-PF presidency at the party’s elective congress next year, while factions loyal to the two protagonists are slugging it out at various levels of the party, including at provincial and district levels, is testimony to the fact that the 2017 coup coalition has collapsed.

“Under the coup arrangement, Mnangagwa was meant to pass on the baton to Chiwenga in 2023, but no sooner had he assumed power than he started consolidating his grip by, among other tactics, purging Chiwenga’s allies, with the aim of remaining at the helm, setting the stage for a power battle between the two gladiators.”

Robert Mugabe had manage to pacify the demanding but wasteful Zanu PF thugs by doling out loot hand over fist. He was lucky in that he inherited the Biblical seven fat cows and seven fat ears of corn from the Smith regime. When the wealth from Smith ran out in the late 1990s, Mugabe turned to the only other asset left – land. The seizure of the white owned farms to give, mainly, to party loyalists led to the collapse of the country’s once very productive agricultural sector and it took with it the economy.

The Zimbabwe economy shrunk by a staggering 50% in the period 2000 to 2008 alone and it has never ever recovered to this day.

So Mnangagwa and his coup plotter inherited one thin cow and one thin ear of corn from Mugabe following the November 2017 coup. It is no surprise the dog-eat-dog factional fighting that resulted in Joice Mujuru and her faction being booted out in 2014 and then Mugabe and his G40 in 2017 continued unabated after the coup.

Soon after the coup President Mnangagwa promised “new democratic dispensation, a Second Republic” and even promised to hold free, fair and credible elections. Some people believed him whole heartedly whilst a few expressed their doubts.

Would the coup plotters risk their lives in staging the coup to seize power only to risk losing it eight months later in free, fair and credible 2018 election! It should be noted too that the coup plotters were the ones who had blatantly rigged elections in the past to keep Mugabe in power; it is naive, to say the least, to expect them to give up these dictatorial powers now when rigging the elections would secure power for themselves.

The sceptics were right; Mnangagwa and company blatantly rigged the 2018 elections and never even bothered to implement even one token democratic reform.

The dog-eat-dog infighting in Zanu PF today is proof, if proof was needed, that the party members are as hungry for absolute power now as ever before. There was no chance of Zanu holding free and fair elections in 2018 and nothing has changed on that front.

The opposition’s participation in the 2023 elections is only tolerated by Zanu PF purely for the purpose of giving some modicum of credibility to the flawed and illegal electoral process and, by extension, giving legitimacy to the vote rigging Zanu PF. The opposition are nothing more than jackals at a multi-clan hyena kill. Any foolhardy jackal caught between the kill and the circling hyena clan will provide a nice hors d’oeuvre.

For all their political posturing Nelson Chamisa and company are participating in these elections to win the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is giving away to entice the opposition to participate. As much as the people are desperate for real political change and a meaningful say in the governance of the country; that will never ever happen, not until the democratic reforms to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship are finally implemented.

What is so, so annoying about Zimbabwe politics is that MDC leaders wasted the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and thus dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship once and once for all during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They failed to implement even one reform in five years! This was the nation’s get out of jail card and MDC failed to play it.

Worse still, MDC are the ones giving legitimacy to the vote rigging Zanu PF regime by insisting on participating in these flawed elections when everyone else has been calling for reforms before elections.

It was USA ambassador to Zimbabwe 2004 to 2007, Chris Dell, who said Morgan Tsvangirai was “a flawed and indecisive character who would become an albatross round the nation’s neck if he ever got into power!” Dell could have said the same of the MDC leadership and they have become the mile-stone dragging the nation into the crashing abyss.

We still have the challenge of ending the Zanu PF dictatorship, now emboldened by the MDC blundering incompetence, but first must cut ourselves free the corrupt and utterly useless MDC who were elected to deliver change but are frustrating all efforts to bring change.

Mliswa Wades Into President Chamisa’s Botswana Funding. “Is That A Crime?”

By A Correspondent- Norton MP Temba Mliswa has blasted Zanu Pf for unfounded allegations that President Nelson Chamisa was being funded by Botswana citizens of Indian origin.

Mliswa trashed the reports arguing that even if he (Chamisa) was being funded by the nationals, this was totally legal and above board,

Said Mliswa:

By A Correspondent- The government says the public misunderstood a video currently circulating where President Emmerson Mnangagwa appeared heavily intoxicated during a fundraising event held at State House last Friday.

In the video, widely circulating on social media platforms, Mnangagwa appears drunk and had to be assisted by Deputy Sports Minister Tino Machakaire and Harare businessman Farai Matsika.

The event was the launch of the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa University of Zambia scholarship programme, the video has seen the president becoming a subject of lewd jokes.

However, Information Ministry secretary Nick Mangwana said the public had misunderstood the video as Mnangagwa was not drunk.

“Before I retire for the day, let me share an extension of the so-called drunk video. At the risk of dignifying nonsense, let me say, slurred speech (no), unsteady gait (no), non-compos mentis behaviour (no). Sober, sharp, coherent, and presidential statesman.”

Mangwana also posted another video of Mnangagwa leaving the event and walking without the assistance of his aides.

“After the event in which some thought his being attentive to his scholarship fund benefactors was being drunk, President Mnangagwa is seen here going home. He walks with vigour, balance, and focus. Not drunk, not sick, just single-mindedness to develop Zimbabwe,” Mangwana added.

“Tomorrow is another day so my final installment tonight is on, how the walk hand in hand started. Musatinyaudza futi (Don’t bother us again.”

However, exiled former Information Minister Jonathan Moyo said most of the guests at the event were intoxicated.

“None of the above looks sober. Their faces tell a shocking story of VVIP intoxication, which aptly defines Mnangagwa’s New Dispensation and Second Republic!” Moyo said in reference to a picture of Mnangagwa, Machakaire, and Matsika.

According to Mangwana, the ED-UNZA scholarship has five Zambian students studying at the Chinhoyi University of Technology, and 10 Zimbabwean students studying at the University of Zambia.

He claimed the dinner event raised US$700 000 and $16 million while Mnangagwa’s tie and scarf were auctioned to raise the money.

“And of course he was as sober as a judge.”

Dozens Flee From Quarantine Centres

By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has expressed concern over the increasing number of people who are fleeing from COVID-19 Quarantine Centres across the country.

In May this year, the government, through the Minister of Health and Child Care, gazetted Statutory Instrument 119 of 2021 that makes it compulsory for people entering the country to be quarantined, at their own expense, for 10 days.

The regulations stipulate that all people entering Zimbabwe must undergo a valid COVID-19 PCR test not more than 48 hours from the time of their departure for Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, inmates have been escaping from Quarantine Centres where safety concerns have been raised. Pindula News presents a police statement on the case:

The ZRP is concerned with cases of inmates who are absconding from COVID-19 Quarantine Centres across the country. From 19-21/11/21, a total of 76 comprising of 69 males and seven females absconded from Beitbridge Quarantine Centre. Investigations are underway.

Issues of absconding at the Beitbridge isolation centre have been on the rise since February following the withdrawal of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) which was offering security since its opening in March last year.

Some have been escaping under the cover of darkness, while others are said to have bribed security personnel at the point.

Cellphone Thief Kills Self In Toilet

By A Correspondent- A Glen Norah man who was arrested for robbing a neighbour of a cellphone worth US$10, reportedly used a leather belt to commit suicide in a holding cell at court, a few minutes after being denied bail.

The 38-year0old Darlington Rushambwa was remanded in custody by a Mbare magistrate but used his belt and mesh wire to commit suicide in a toilet.

He was found hanging in the holding cell.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development. Said Asst Comm Nyathi:

I can confirm that a 38-year-old man committed suicide after being remanded in custody. He was facing robbery charges and the magistrate had just remanded him to November 22.

After the remand proceedings, prison officials locked him up. A few minutes later, they found him dead.

The body was taken to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for post-mortem.

Rushambwa was arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred in Glen Norah A in March this year.

On March 18 this year, a complainant Mr Matts Kungulani was walking from Spaceman shops to his home using Gumbe Road. Along the way, Rushambwa and three others pounced on Kungulani, hitting him on the back before tying his hands and legs.

No proper screening is done at court before one enters a holding cell and some are locked up in their suits and neck-ties.

They can only be asked to take off belts, neck-ties, shoes and put on prison garb when at the prison.

Chiyangwa Wins Farm Wrangle

By A Correspondent- The High Court on Monday ordered settlers who invaded a farm belonging to Phillip Chiyangwa, businessman and ZANU PF Zvimba South MP, to vacate.

Chiyangwa took 30 settlers to court after they had invaded the farm and claimed ownership of the property despite the fact that the farm was gazetted.

Last year, Chiyangwa won a similar case, which resulted in the settlers being thrown out of the farm. However, others continued to occupy the farm and allegedly damaged Chiyangwa’s property.

The settlers filed an urgent chamber application against Chiyangwa seeking an order interdicting him from interfering with their occupation.

They also accused him of buying police officers to ensure that they intimidated them, further stating that in fear of victimisation by the MP, they are staying in the mountains.

But High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda, in his ruling yesterday, said the invaders had come to Chiyangwa’s farm with dirty hands. Justice Kwenda said:

In deciding this matter, I make the following findings: A person in occupation of gazetted land must give up occupation or use of such land voluntarily. Because the law commands him or her to do so, he or she has a lawful authority to remain in occupation or use the land. Similarly, no one may take occupation or use of gazetted land without lawful authority.

The judge said anyone who remained in occupation of the land would be committing a crime.

He said the settlers were aware that the land they occupy was duly acquired by the State and gazetted, therefore, they don’t have to wait to be evicted as the law requires them to give up occupation voluntarily.

He added that the police officers were only exercising their law enforcement duties, adding that it was the duty of the sheriff to evict them.

Steward Bank Shrugs Off COVID-19, Records A Surge In Profits

By A Correspondent| Steward Bank reports surge in income, profits in strong half-year results Steward Bank, Zimbabwe’s largest bank by depositors, has shrugged the impact of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and effects of hyperinflation to report impressive half-year financial results to August 31, 2021.

The bank, a subsidiary of EcoCash Holdings Zimbabwe Limited, posted a 263% surge in profit to ZW$252 million, in historical terms, up from ZW$69 million recorded in the half year to August 2020 driven by an increase in net interest income.

Steward Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Mr Courage Mashavave said the bank recorded half year net interest income of ZW$648 million, a 619% growth when compared to the same period last year of ZW$90 million.

“Non-funded income for the period under review was ZW$1.9 billion, 251% above the prior year of ZW$546 million,” he said in a statement accompanying the financial results.

In inflation adjusted terms, Steward Bank’s profit went up 158% to ZW$355 million from ZW$211 million reported in the same period in 2020.

The bank’s net interest income jumped 243% to ZW$706 million, up from ZW$206 million in prior year, while non-interest income was ZW$2.0 billion against ZW$1.3 billion in the corresponding period. The bank also reported a strong liquidity ratio of 47%, sufficiently above the minimum regulatory ratio of 30%.

This resulted in the financial technology focused institution’s regulatory capital position being in excess of the minimum regulatory requirements of Tier 1 capital of ZW$25 million as at August 31, 2021.

Mr Mashavave said the bank is confident of sustaining the upward trend in performance throughout the current financial year.

Steward Bank, which has over two million depositors, commissioned a new core banking system in April 2021, with the investment enabling the bank to accelerate its digital transformation programme.

“We have started to realise the benefits of the system upgrade through better customer experience and operational efficiencies. Coupled with the system upgrade, the bank introduced innovations on our online banking platform and our Square digital banking application, enabling us to meet the ever evolving needs of our customers,” said Mr Mashavave.

In the period under review, Steward Bank zero rated its Square Mobile Application to leverage on digital financial inclusion channels.

The zero-rating of the mobile application allows customers to transact without data, thereby ensuring customers have access to financial services at all times.

Mr Mashavave added that the financial services institution dispensed more than 55,000 digital loans to women in the half year under review and maintained a POS device complement of slightly above 3 000 in the rural areas, ensuring that sole traders and merchants operating in those areas have access to financial services.

“Anti–Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism are critical issues that the bank continues to be mindful of in light of the surge in cybercrimes taking place on both a global and local scale. The bank continues to partner with the Reserve of Bank of Zimbabwe and the Financial Intelligence Unit to ensure that our customers and nation are protected from financial crimes,” he said.

Steward Bank is now confident of meeting the new capital thresholds of US$30 million by the end of this year after shareholders committed to inject more capital to ensure the bank is compliant.

Residents Clash With Chinese Firm

By A Correspondent- Hwange residents have clashed with a Chinese company, Mutagech Mine, which they accuse of starting operations without consulting the community.

Mutagech Mine has embarked on a coal-mining project.

In the Dinde area of Hwange, villagers have also been fighting a Chinese coal-mining project which is likely to displace them.

Greater Hwange Residents Trust co-ordinator Fedelis Chima Monday told NewsDay that the company was given a special mining grant several years ago, but decided to resume mining activities this year without consulting them.

Chima said:

The company was given a special grant by the government about 10 years ago. The problem started this year when it wanted to resume mining operations. During the environmental impact assessment process, it only consulted a section of traditional leaders, leaving out a lot of other people.

We are not happy about this. It is using COVID-19 as a scapegoat.

We want the country to provide us with its project description so that we know about their environmental plans.

Ward 20 councillor Ishmael Kwidini said the mining initiative is going to affect a lot of villagers, therefore, it is difficult to co-exist with such a venture.

Besides displacement, the venture is likely to affect grazing land and fields.

Consulted leaders were reportedly given bicycles as incentives to support the venture.

Mutagech project manager Donald Nkosana the consultation process was done adding that they have not yet received complaints.

He also said they are at the project phase.-newsday

Mnangagwa Drinking On Duty?- Video

By A Correspondent- A video of President Emmerson Mnangagwa being assisted to the podium to address delegates at a function at State House at the weekend has suggested that he was dring on duty.

Information secretary Ndavaningi Mangwana yesterday spent the better part of the day explaining a video where President Emmerson Mnangagwa appeared drunk during a fundraising event at State House last Friday, saying people may have misread the clip.

While Mnangagwa’s actions suggested he may have taken some alcohol according to critics, Mangwana explained the video saying: “Before I retire for the day, let me share an extension of the so-called drunk video. At the risk of dignifying nonsense, let me say, slurred speech (no), unsteady gait (no), non-compos mentis behaviour (no). Sober, sharp, coherent and presidential statesman.”

Mangwana then later posted a video of Mnangagwa leaving the event and walking without the help of aides.

Buyanga Wins SA Child Custody Court Case

By A Correspondent- Businessman Frank Buyanga has obtained a temporary interdict at the South African High Court stopping attempts to remove his seven-year-old son to Zimbabwe, where authorities say he was unlawfully taken.

Meanwhile, the High Court appointed the Benoni-based Centre for Child Law as the legal guardians of the child until a resolution to the custody dispute between Buyanga and his ex-girlfriend Chantelle Muteswa is finalised.

The Centre for Child Law will facilitate access to the child by Muteswa at Buyanga’s cost.

Buyanga approached the High Court on an urgent basis last week, his lawyers arguing that the child is a South African citizen who was unlawfully taken to Zimbabwe in 2016 by Muteswa.

Granting the interdict, Justice Denise Carol Fisher of the Gauteng High Court set a date of December 9 for a full hearing into the custody dispute, with lawyers for Muteswa and Buyanga expected to file arguments. South Africa’s home affairs department and the ministry of international relations have been joined in the proceedings as well as the Zimbabwe embassy in Pretoria and the Centre for Child Law.

In an affidavit filed before the court, Buyanga accused Muteswa of taking his son to Zimbabwe without his consent as required by law. Where his consent was denied, he said Muteswa should have obtained a court order authorising her to travel with the child.

Buyanga, a permanent resident of South Africa, said Muteswa has South African citizenship. Their son was born in Sandton and assumed South African citizenship.

“On or around 2016, Buyanga and Muteswa had a fallout after it became apparent that she was having an affair with a Zimbabwean business mogul based in Harare. As such, Muteswa unlawfully relocated the minor child in a bid to settle with her new lover without the peremptory consent of Buyanga,” Buyanga’s lawyers said.

Buyanga said he filed a child abduction case with South African police.

The property investor says he later became aware that Muteswa had acquired a new birth certificate for herself and the child in Zimbabwe. The birth certificate did not list Buyanga as the father, he says.

That began a lengthy legal process in Zimbabwe, he told the court, which culminated in a Constitutional Court ruling in October last month ordering him to return the child to Muteswa.

Zimbabwe has requested Interpol to put Buyanga on its Red Notice, making him liable to arrest and extradition. This came after Buyanga was accused of kidnapping his son movie-style in front of a busy supermarket in Harare, before the boy was returned to South Africa.

Buyanga told the South African High Court: “The child… has been brought to South Africa through a mutual friend of both the applicant (Buyanga) and first respondent (Muteswa) under the auspices that he is on holiday.

“Because of Covid restrictions and laws governing the movement of minor children, the child is now in the applicant’s custody and is attending school here in South Africa.”

Advocate Prince Mafu, instructed by Ntozakhe Attorneys, appeared for Buyanga while Advocate Henk Horn represented Muteswa, who joined proceedings by video link from Harare. Herald

Victory For Marry Chiwenga, As High Court Dismisses Detention Order

HARARE – The High Court on Monday ordered the release from 10-day custody of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s estranged wife, Marry Mubaiwa, who was detained by a magistrate for the purposes of undergoing a mental examination.

Mubaiwa is facing a string of trials on separate charges, but her lawyers said she is no physical or mental state to sit through the trials. The National Prosecuting Authority contests this, and last week filed an application before magistrate Lazini Ncube for her detention for 10 days so that she can be assessed by two state doctors.

On appeal, two High Court judges on Monday ordered her immediate release after making highly critical remarks of Ncube.

Said Mubaiwa’s lawyer Doug Coltart: “Justices (Benjamin) Chikowero and (Pisirayi) Kwenda handed down an extempore ruling immediately after the hearing. They called the magistrate’s ruling ‘capricious’ and ‘arbitrary’ and said he had ‘gone on a frolic of his own’.

“They said it was completely unjustified that she was detained when she was already out on bail and ordered her release from custody.”

Mubaiwa and her lawyers accuse Chiwenga of interfering with legal processes to keep her behind bars.

Medical reports submitted in court have detailed the true extent of Mubaiwa’s medical troubles after she was diagnosed with acute lymphoedema. She is currently recovering from a skin graft on the right forearm conducted in September.

Dr Fungisai Makombe Simone Mazhandu, a specialist psychiatrist, submitted a report to the lower court last week stating: “Upon examination, Marry Mubaiwa had difficulty concentrating and a low, anxious mood. She had insomnia, reduced appetite and energy, and symptoms of anxiety attacks.

“It is my opinion that she has a mental disorder – Major Depressive Disorder – with comorbid Anxiety Disorder. She is not currently able to stand trial.”

The prosecution is hotly contesting her diagnosis and is seeking the opinions of two state doctors as it seeks to push on with her trials for fraud, false representation, assault, money laundering and the alleged attempted murder of Chiwenga in 2019.

Mubaiwa says the charges were trumped up by Chiwenga in a bid to keep her away from their three children together, whom she has not seen in two years.

Government Orders ZESA To Recover $ 15 Billion From Clients

The Government has directed Zesa Holdings to immediately institute measures to recover the $15 billion it is owed by its clients in unpaid electricity bills.

Under the directive only paying customers should get power.

Energy and Power Development Acting Minister, Jenfan Muswere said all electricity consumers must be placed on smart meters to ensure maximum revenue collection and ensure that the power utility can discharge its duties effectively and efficiently.

In his keynote address at a recent event to commission motorbikes for use by Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) Revenue Assurance Operations and the official launch of Operation Usabe Magetsi/Lingebi amagetsi in Harare, Muswere said:

It is very crucial that revenue assurance and anti-vandalism modalities are developed to ensure secure generation of power.

The $15 billion that is owed by various local authorities, mining houses and the public has got to be extinguished.

In the New Dispensation, our major interest is to ensure that you develop action-oriented mechanisms.

I am delighted to say that as a ministry we need to develop the modus operandi that says ‘no payment no power.’

Disconnections should be a measure that should be instituted after clients have failed to stick to the payment plan.

It is very important that we give a time frame that before the end of next year smart meters should be deployed across the country.

Muswere who is also Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Postal and Courier Services criticised the vandalisation of ZESA properties saying they were sabotaging efforts to achieve Vision 2030 which is anchored on the National Development Strategy 1- The Herald

“Mountain Moving” Prophet Seeks Permission To Resurrect The Dead

Own Correspondent

As the bible says that they will be many false prophets who will perform great miracles using evil powers, health officials are in shock after controversial cleric,
Isaac Makomichi, wrote a letter seeking permission to visit all mortuaries to resurrect the dead.

Reports say Makomichi, in his letter to the government, indicated that the deceased would live again for 12 hours so to enable him/ her to say last wishes.

Makomichi was not immediately available at the time of publishing.

Makomichi was reportedly barred by the government from moving “the Marimba mountain for 12 minutes.”

Some believers describe Makomichi as a magician.

“We know he can do it and we have heard a lot about his powers but the fact is that he is a sangoma or a magician not a prophet,” said Bishop Zigari.

Thousands Thrown Into COVID Acre

Thousands of Zanu PF supporters yesterday thronged the National Heroes Acre in Harare to witness the burial of national hero and Zanu PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo in defiance of COVID-19 protocols.

This happened despite warnings by local health experts that a fourth wave of the respiratory virus could hit the country during the December festive season due to complacency and failure to observe World Health Organisation-stipulated safety protocols.

Heroes Acre during Khaya burial

Moyo succumbed to cancer at the Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo last week. He was 76.

The Zanu PF spokesperson was buried at the national shrine with thousands of Zanu PF supporters in attendance. The mourners were not observing social distancing, while several of them were improperly wearing their masks.

Only the party leadership in the front seats were socially distanced and had their face masks on.

Community Working Group on Health (CWGH) executive director Itai Rusike said it was unfortunate that political parties were continuing to disregard the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols at a time when a fourth wave of the pandemic is looming.

Mnangagwa has been addressing rallies across the country amid fears that they could be super spreaders of COVID-19.

His MDC Alliance counterpart Nelson Chamisa has also been on a whirlwind tour of rural areas where he is meeting party supporters.

“It is very unfortunate that the leaderships of political parties are disregarding the COVID-19 level two lockdown measures by addressing public gatherings exceeding the requisite numbers allowed by the government, thus putting their members and followers at risk of COVID-19 infection,” Rusike said.

“These leaders should lead by example in observing WHO recommended guidelines and government protocols on COVID-19, given that some countries in Europe are currently battling an increase in new COVID-19 cases, hospitalisation and deaths. Zimbabwe risks being overwhelmed by the fourth wave of COVID-19 during this festive season if we continue with the current levels of complacency and disregarding the physical distancing measures,” he said.

Rusike said there was need for political party leaders to be on the forefront in encouraging their members to get vaccinated against the virus.

“Instead, we expect to see the leadership of political parties being at the forefront encouraging their members to get vaccinated so that the country can reach the required 60% herd immunity after vaccinating at least 10 million of the population.”

While there are concerns of complacency, the COVID-19 chief co-ordinator in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Agnes Mahomva said as government, they were trying to implement COVID-19 regulations.

“During the large gatherings, we encourage everyone to social distance and observe COVID-19 regulations,” she said, insisting that they were working with law enforcement agents to ensure adherence.

At Moyo’s burial, Zanu PF supporters failed to produce the required COVID-19 certificates.

In his eulogy, Mnangagwa described Moyo as a diplomat par excellence and a patriot who served with distinction in all assignments that he was given.

“A cadre always available for deployment no matter the task or duty, the late Cde SK Moyo was instrumental in demystifying the false and negative narratives by detractors, against our great motherland, Zimbabwe.”

“He was patient and kind, he did not envy or boast, he was not proud and did not dishonour others, neither was he self-seeking, he was not easily angered. Those who had the privilege to know Cde SK Moyo will attest to the fact that he did not delight in evil but rejoiced in the truth. He always hoped and always persevered. In his honour, let us as a nation, across all provinces, rise beyond misplaced perceptions,” Mnangagwa said.–Newsday

FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics, announced the launch of a new initiative to improve cervical cancer testing and screening using innovative technologies in low- and middle-income countries;
Unitaid reaffirmed its commitment to lay the groundwork for wide-scale adoption of innovative cervical cancer screening and treatment tools – and is on track to reach one million women by 2022, despite COVID-19;
The French government’s L’Initiative facility, implemented by Expertise France, will announce a reinforcement of the support, including operational research, to countries with high comorbidity and coinfection of HIV and HPV-associated cancers.

Tinashe Sambiri| MDC Alliance vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala has described Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa as an unelectable leader.

Mr Mnangagwa is heartless and insensitive to the plight of suffering citizens, according to Hon Sikhala.

Former President Robert Mugabe, despised for tormenting thousands of opposition supporters, warned the nation of Mr Mnangagwa’s callousness.

“Mugabe died after warning us kuti munhu uyu ane hutsinye. He doesn’t deserve to be anyone’s leader.

He forced Majonga to sit on a hot stove & 2 jump frm the 2nd floor because of a woman.

We ridiculed Mugabe because of his unpardonable sins but we see it today. Blaz havaiti ava,” Hon Sikhala said.

He also accused Zanu PF MP for Bikita East, Johnson Madhuku of forcing schoolchildren to attend a party rally.

This abuse of school children must stop as soon as possible.

Children want to learn to build a foundation for their future not zvematoto izvi.”

The party’s secretary-general, Chalton Hwende posted on Twitter notifying members that they will continue with the program as initially planned. He said:
I have just been informed by Police that they will not allow my @MdcKuwadzana MDC Alliance 22nd Anniversary Celebrations on the 28th of November. The @cohsunshinecity a council-controlled by CIO and ED’s wife tried everything to deny me the chance to hire The local Hall
On the 17th of November, I sent someone to book the Hall since we wanted to ensure that we meet the Covid requirement of 100 participants. We were initially quoted USD$192 but 2 hrs later my guy was called and given a new Quote of $1069.50apparently following orders from above

Team Pachedu, an opposition political activism online group expressed displeasure over the decision to suspend the blitz. Said the group:

‘Grace Mugabe’s A Businesswoman of Note, Everyone Must Back Her’ | VIDEO

By Farai D Hove (ZimEye) The below video has resurfaced and shows the weeks before the November 2017 coup and some Zimbabwean realities that appear similar to today’s.

In the clip, AAG founder and businessman Phillip Chiyangwa is seen and heard stating as follows:

“On the way to Rushinga with Mupfumi right there, and Shaddy…everything cool, Munhu wese wese kunaAmai,” was the watchword.

“This is the team to Rushinga, Team Grace, this is Team Grace. Here is PC for you,

“We are busy fixing the party so that the country returns to the black people.

“We should not have leaders who while they are speaking they don’t give you that feeling of cash confidence; we don’t like such people, that’s why we go through Grace, because our money issues become easy. And if you see her as a person, she has businesses, she is a businesswoman of note; no one produces ice cream and freezeits, and makes it like her; Look at the produce on your own, and everyone is going for Amai. “

Tuku Loyalist Kasamba Weeps On Stage

By A Correspondent-Black Spirits long serving member Eric “Picky” Kasamba wept on stage after being conferred with a certificate for his loyalty by Selmor Mtukudzi.
The ageless percussionist and dancer, who served the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi with distinction, hailed Selmor for her creative edge as she unveiled her second album titled Ndangwara after the death of her father.
Tuku died on January 23 2019 and was declared a national hero.

“Selmor is talented and I have never doubted her,” he said. Picky hailed Selmor and her sister Sandra for keeping their late father’s legacy going.
“Tuku was a legend in his own right but we need to support his kids who are doing well to keep the legacy going.
“These kids need our support and love so that the rich Tuku legacy lives on. As an elder, I will continue guiding them whenever they need my expertise,” he said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by family friend and music promoter Josh Hozheri.
“When Mdara Tuku died, we were all sad but we are now glad that he gave us a talented daughter who is doing well.
“I have seen her grow and its really encouraging that she is living her dream now.
“When she lost her father two years ago, Selmor was devastated and it took months for her to recover.
“We are glad that she is now mentally strong after learning to deal with the loss of her father.
“I’m proud to say that we are gathered her once again celebrating yet another milestone from our daughter.
World cannot express how proud I am because she is really talented,” he said. H Metro

Top Prophet Dumps Bushiri

By AS Correspondent- Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) leader, Apostle Tannah Israel, (real name Tanatswa Makore) has formally announced that he has left the Prophet Shepherd Bushiri led ministry.

Tannah Israel was married to Bushiri’s sister and reports indicate that the pair is undergoing a divorce process for reasons that have not been disclosed. On Sunday, Israel took to Facebook to announce his departure from the church. Read his statement:

I’ve never been at peace like how I am right now, this year was my toughest year soo far since my journey started which at the same time was my best year because it was bittersweet. It came with soo many blessings, much more than I prayed for or expected… it came with soo many lessons, soo much wisdom, soo much boldness, soo much humbleness, soo much Love and above all soo much growth. Many might not have witnessed but deep inside I felt God took me to another pedestal and even the word revelation I was getting in that realm was deeper than before, my approach to ministry shifted, my approach to life in general shifted and truly speaking my whole paradigm was purged and made anew…

Soo much happened of which I will share with you all in due time, soo many attacks came my way and God held my mouth not to speak back in any way, shape or form because he said “I am doing something”. Some of them almost took my life literally, soo many people that said they will be there were never there when I needed them the most, I had to make tough decisions, I was left on my knees with no help or anyone to lean on but above all this GOD STOOD WITH ME, gave me strength, opened new doors, I saw God like never before this year and I witnessed his true Love, he unveiled the New me whilst the old me was being buried 6 feet.

Whilst all this was happening God kept whispering to me that don’t stop witnessing about me. I kept preaching, I kept leaning on God, I lost a lot of things & really things were not okay but I kept trusting God, threats came my way spiritually & physically but I told myself that whatever that comes will find me in the secret place on my knees with my heart laid on the Altar. I kept praying, I kept seeking him and truth be told there were times I felt weak but I found strength in him and just kept going till this day…before I could even blink and before the year could finish GOD DID IT AGAIN…

It was the beginning of this month of November when the Spirit of God whispered to me that 2021 was a year of alignment (not just for you but for my people) which is why to those who have been following me even from the beginning of this year (2021) I said “God said he is pouring Grace but this Grace will only be available to those who will be aligned to what he is setting up for a generation not only for this year but even years to come, this year will be very hard and it will take Grace to finish it”

To those who stood with me even without knowing what was happening and regardless of the propaganda, character assassination attempts, to those who kept showing me Love, believing in me, supporting my ministry, praying, following all instructions as commanded by God, I am truly humbled & grateful, your input will never go unnoticed. If your prayers do not get answered, just like King Hezekiah your commitment to God and the kingdom at large will be the key that will open that door for you…

P.S. I have an upcoming project and I will include in that project how God called me home this year for 31 hours and even people I was staying with in my house never knew I was gone because they thought I was just in my room locked in prayer…

All this above should be a testimony to strengthen somebody that if you TRULY stay with GOD, he will never forsake you…

NO MATTER WHAT STAY WITH GOD…

WALK WITH ME AS I WALK WITH CHRIST…

Apostle Tannah Israel .

Soon after this post Apostle Tannah posted his official announcement regarding his departure from ECG. Read it below:

PTT: ECG family, Friends and my Followers at large,

I greet you all in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Undoubtedly, over the past few months, you have not been seeing much of me because I have been in prayer, seeking the face of the Lord pertaining to different aspects of my life. Finally, the Lord has given me a go-ahead to make this special announcement to you.

It was all a dream when I joined this movement that has sharpened the face of the Prophetic Ministry in the world. From the very first day, I set my foot into this favoured house of the Lord. I have learnt a lot of things that I cannot begin to describe on this page.

As a child of God with a calling upon my head. I have also learnt to become aware of the Spirit of the Lord through the teachings of our General Overseer who is also the Leader and Founder of the beloved, ECG church.

Therefore, owing to the love that I have received from all of you, the same love that I believe I will continue to enjoy, I wish to announce to you, my departure from the ECG church which is a family that I hold so dear in my heart. This announcement allows me to inform you of the hardest decision I have had to take for the sake of my own growth, path, purpose, as well as following the blueprint God laid out for me for the next stage of my life. I am grateful to the leadership of the Church for the trust they had in me and the respect they have shown me over the years when I served faithfully in the house of the Lord, along with our Leader. From Malawi, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia. the United Kingdom and many other counties. I have enjoyed nothing below limitless love from all of you.

I will always be indebted to the ECG family as•well as the Prophet Himself. Always remember, we are one body, one family, one God.

Pray for me as I continue to also pray for you.

With love, Apostle Tannah Israel

“Prophet” Seeks Permission To Resurrect The Dead

Ndiraya Slams Referee After Losing To FC Platinum

Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya was not entirely happy with how the referee handled their 1-0 defeat to FC Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup, semifinal encounter played on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys suffered their first defeat of the campaign to bow out of the competition in the last four stage.

Innocent Muchaneka scored the only goal of the extra time after the game had ended goalless at the full-time.

Speaking after the match, Ndiraya was pleased with his team’s performance but lamented how some of the referee’s calls affected them.

He said: “We had some calls, from the referee, which I think should have gone in our favour.

“But that wasn’t the case.”

“Overall, I’m very proud of my boys’ performance. We are not yet a perfect team, but you can see it’s coming. The improvement is there and hopefully we’ll keep the momentum and get the results.”

Dynamos had a goal disallowed in the extra time.

Initially adjudged as a foul on goalkeeper Petros Mhari, it was later revealed Ali Maliselo had scooped the ball into the back of the net with his hand.

Later on, DeMbare had a penalty appeal turned away with the referee giving a free kick to FC Platinum instead. – Soccer24 Zimbabwe

DeMbare Crash Out Of Chibuku Super Cup

Innocent Mucheneka’s brilliantly-struck free kick in extra time was the only goal of the game as FC Platinum beat Dynamos 1-0 in a thrilling Chibuku Super Cup semi-final at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

In a highly-tactical match in which both sides had very few clear cut goal-scoring opportunities, a moment of brilliance was required and Mucheneka provided one after neither team failed to break the deadlock in regulation time.

Norman Mapeza’s men started the game better, with Dynamos struggling to contain their slick passing in the early stages of the game.

It was all Kugona Kunenge Kudada in the first 15 minutes and they had the first oppourtunity to open the scoring, with 13 minutes gone.

Kelvin Mangiza unleashed a stinger but Tymon Mvula, in goal for DeMbare, was well positioned to deal with the danger.

The Glamour Boys’ first attempt at goal came just after the half-hour mark, when a Godknows Murwira corner kick was partially cleared by the Platinum defence and found Frank Mukarati, whose shot went wide.

Mapeza was forced to make an injury- inspired substitution with a minute to go before the half time break; Gift Mbweti coming on for Rahman Kutsanzira, who could not continue after a knock.

Goalless it was at the interval.

Tonderai Ndiraya made two changes just after the restart, with Trevor Mavhunga and Albert Eonde being replaced by Newman Sianchali and Juan Mutuza.

The first chance of the second half fell to Mucheneka, whose goal-bound effort was safely-collected by Mvula.

Both sides went in search of the opener but it could not come and referee Brington Chimeme blew to end end the contest after 90 minutes of regulation time, to send it to extra time.

With a minute to go before the first half of extra time ended, the deadlock was finally broken, brilliantly.

Platinum won a free kick on the edge of the Dynamos box and Mucheneka stepped up.

The former CAPS United midfielder’s well-struck shot from the dead ball gave Mvula no chance, sparking wild celebrations on the Kugona Kunenge Kudada bench.

DeMbare thought they had levelled matters three minutes later, the ball actually went into the net but the referee spotted an Ali Maliselo handball in the process.

They (Dynamos) protested but television replays showed the referee made the correct call.

DeMbare’s best chance to restore parity in extra came in form of a free kick on the edge of the box in the 117th minute.

Godknows Murwira stepped up but his powerful shot was well saved by Petros Mhari.

Platinum held on to book a place in the final, in which they will face Ngezi Platinum Stars.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

World Intensifies Fight Against Cervical Cancer

FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics, announced the launch of a new initiative to improve cervical cancer testing and screening using innovative technologies in low- and middle-income countries;
Unitaid reaffirmed its commitment to lay the groundwork for wide-scale adoption of innovative cervical cancer screening and treatment tools – and is on track to reach one million women by 2022, despite COVID-19;
The French government’s L’Initiative facility, implemented by Expertise France, will announce a reinforcement of the support, including operational research, to countries with high comorbidity and coinfection of HIV and HPV-associated cancers.
