Three Die In Another Earthquake

RESCUERS are once again searching for people trapped under rubble in Turkey after another earthquake hit the country, killing at least three people.

A 6.4 magnitude tremor struck near the city of Antakya close to the border with Syria, where massive quakes hit the two countries on the 6th of February.

The earlier quakes killed 44,000 people in Turkey and Syria with tens of thousands more left homeless.

Buildings weakened by the tremors collapsed with Turkey’s disaster and emergency agency saying Monday’s 6.4 earthquake was followed by a 5.8 aftershock three minutes later and 31 subsequent aftershocks that were not as severe.

Turkish Interior Minister, Süleyman Soylu said the three deaths were recorded in Antakya, Defne, and Samandag, and urged people not to enter potentially dangerous buildings.

This comes after rescue operations had been wound down in all but two areas, with hopes of finding people alive fading. – ZBC News

CCC Dismisses National Youth Day

Tinashe Sambiri|CCC has described the National Youth Day as a cheap gimmick by Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa to honour his former boss Robert Mugabe.

Ironically Mr Mnangagwa pushed his long time boss out of power via a military coup in November 2017.

According to CCC youth taskforce spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma, there is nothing to celebrate on National Youth Day.

“On Youth Day…

It’s Robert Mugabe’s birthday and nothing more. It has nothing to do with youths. Only ZANU PF cultists celebrate it. Gukurahundi, Murambatsvina, Operation Makavhotera Papi, Unemployment, 15 Billion etc nothing to celebrate,” said Chuma.

The CCC party has appealed to young people to register to vote in large numbers.

“Young people play a significant role in the development of our country & are one of the main agents of change & progress in a society. We continue to urge them to participate in all national activities, particularly this year as we head towards a watershed election.

Let’s #RegisterToVoteZW for a brighter future for young people.”

Mnangagwa In Plot To Keep Sikhala In Prison

Tinashe Sambiri|Pressure is mounting on the Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa to release CCC deputy chairman Hon Job Sikhala before polls.

Last month Mr Mnangagwa’s agents attempted to eliminate Hon Sikhala by seizing his medication.

Human rights defenders, the country’s main opposition party, CCC and political observers are pushing for the immediate release of Wiwa from jail.

See below CCC statement:

“FREE SIKHALA: The continued incarceration of Zimbabwean MP Hon Job Sikhala by the regime in Harare is evidence of gross violation of the constitution. Bail is a constitutional right. He’s been in prison for 251 days without trial. #FreeSikhala.”

CCC is also intensifying voter registration campaigns in the city of Harare.

“Yesterday, Harare West Ward 16 Councilor @DNgadziore led a door to door #RegisterToVoteZW campaign in his neighbourhood.

We are targeting 6 Million votes for our Change Champion in Chief, Adv @nelsonchamisa, 2/3 majority in Parliament & majority in rural & urban councils.”

Klopp Speaks On Madrid Drubbing

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp slammed his team’s defence after gaving up a two-goal advantage to lose 5-2 against Real Madrid in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League R16 first leg encounter at Anfield Stadium.

The Reds were prone to individual errors and were punished dearly by the visitors who capitalised on the blunders.

With two early goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, the hosts were left to rue their errors after keeper Alisson Backer fired his pass directly into Vinicius Junior for Madrid’s second, while centre-back Joe Gomez had a hand in at least four of the goals.

Speaking after the match, Klopp said: “I really think everything was pretty obvious tonight; I think we gave all five goals away and that means we could have done better there, but they were all obviously different.

“The start in the game, in our situation where we are, it is really important that we see positive steps – and I think the first half was, besides the two goals we conceded, the best we’ve played for probably the whole season.”

The gaffer added: “In the second half, the game was the game Real Madrid wanted to play. Both of the other goals they scored, one is deflected and they are not really well defended, to be honest. We lose the ball in the wrong moment, which is obviously a massive problem against Real Madrid with the counter-attacking threat they have and that’s how it came to the result.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Authorities Condemn Four Stadiums

Four local stadiums have been condemned ahead of the new Castle Lager Premiership season.

The 2023 campaign is set to start in March and the authorities have been holding preliminary inspection at the match venues that have been lined up for use in the new term.

Four of the nine grounds that underwent the first round of inspection were condemned.

According to The Chronicle, the inspectors noted major concerns at the Colliery Stadium, Sakubva Stadium in Mutare, Rusape’s Vengere and ZPC Kariba’s home ground Nyamhunga.

Zvishavane’s Mandava Stadium that houses champions FC Platinum as well as Ngezi Platinum Stars’ Baobab Stadium have minor issues to be attended to relating to the playing surface.

“Preliminary stadium inspections have been done and stadium owners were told the areas to attend ahead of the final inspection which will be done next week. At most of the facilities it was noted that the playing surface and dressing rooms needed to be worked on.

“Urgent stadium renovations are needed for the Colliery Stadium, Nyamhunga, Sakubva and Vengere. A report will be sent to the First Instance Body, the licencing board after the final inspection,” reads a statement from the grounds experts, as cited by the publication.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Jamie Carragher Blasts Woeful Liverpool

Liverpool slumped to a 5-2 defeat at home to Real Madrid in their Champions League last-16 first leg on Tuesday; European exit would all but end Liverpool’s hopes of winning a trophy this season;

“That was shambolic from Liverpool – embarrassing,” says Jamie Carragher.

Jamie Carragher has branded Liverpool’s performance in their 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Real Madrid on Tuesday as “embarrassing” and “shambolic”.

Liverpool took a 2-0 lead in their Champions League last-16 first leg through Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah after just 14 minutes, but conceded five goals at Anfield in a European game for the first time on their way to a heavy defeat.

Jurgen Klopp’s side played Real in the final in Paris just nine months ago but they face exiting the competition at the first knockout round as their disappointing season took another downward turn.

Tim Sherwood says Liverpool only have the target of finishing in the Premier League’s top four after a heavy defeat to Real Madrid
Liverpool are eighth in the Premier League and already out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup – the two trophies they won last season – while they have now conceded 46 goals in all competitions this term.

Speaking to CBS, Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher said: “I must say, what a performance by Real Madrid, to come to Anfield and do that. I’ve never seen a team come to Anfield like that on a European night and destroy Liverpool.”

But the former Liverpool defender added: “That was shambolic from Liverpool. Embarrassing.

“We’ve made excuses for them all season and said there’s reasons why they’re not doing as well as they have done in previous seasons, but that was a disgrace that second half.

“To not even have a chance, to not show any fight after the goals go in, and to lose that second half 3-0 when you’re attacking the Kop at 2-2 in a knockout game – absolutely shambolic. I’m talking about defensively shambolic all season.”

‘It was nonsense to say Liverpool were back’
Liverpool went into the meeting with Real after back-to-back wins over Everton and Newcastle, prompting Klopp to suggest his side had recovered their form at just the right time.

But Carragher believes those claims were premature, saying: “It was nonsense to say that Liverpool were back after two games – that’s why I was cautious before the game.

Liverpool’s win against Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday – their most recent game before being thrashed by Real Madrid.

“They played against an Everton team who put in one of the worst performances I’ve seen in a derby game – they did nothing.

“I was at the Newcastle game as well – Newcastle had 10 men and created chances. If Newcastle had had 11 men they’d have got back to 2-2, I’m convinced of that, because Liverpool all season have been an absolute shambles defensively.”

‘Not just midfield to blame’
Liverpool only conceded 48 goals in the whole of last season and Carragher says the blame for his former side almost matching their total from the previous campaign by February must be shared throughout the side.

“This team had a great defensive record last season but we know the midfield doesn’t have the energy anymore,” he said. “The attacking players in the front three don’t press with the cohesion that was there before, with [Roberto] Firmino and [Sadio] Mane. They’re new to it, Nunez and [Cody] Gakpo.

“For years they’ve had six in front of them who’ve probably worked harder and smarter than any other team in world football. But now that’s gone, it’s completely fallen apart.

“As a Liverpool fan, we absolutely adore this manager and team and they’ve done so much for this club in the last four or five years. It hurts you to say anything negative because they’ve given you so much, but Liverpool are eighth in the Premier League and they’ve just been battered 5-2 in the Champions League.

“I know it’s Real Madrid but these are the two teams that were in the final last year. It’s not acceptable what we’re watching this season.

“We keep looking for reasons and excuses but it’s nowhere near good enough.”

‘I’d take Van Dijk’s place at the moment’

Virgil van Dijk told Gary Neville on The Overlap in November that Jamie Carragher would not get into the current Liverpool squad.

Speaking to Sky Sports’ Gary Neville on The Overlap in November, Virgil van Dijk claimed Carragher – who played 737 times for Liverpool – would not get into the current squad.

But Carragher shot back at the centre-back – who played the entire game as Real romped to victory at Anfield – saying: “What makes me laugh is Virgil van Dijk said I wouldn’t get in that back four about two months ago.

“I think I’d take his place at the moment. We keep talking about the midfield players Liverpool need – and I think that’s right – but Liverpool need defenders as well. When they get exposed, they can’t defend.”- Sky Sports

Mnangagwa Reduces Mujuru To A “Poor” Tobacco Farmer

By James Gwati- Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reduced her colleague and Former vice President Joice Mujuru to a tobacco farmer.

Mujuru was recently captured in a tobacco curing barn by the former Zanu PF youth league’s political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu.

Joice Mujuru (left) captured in a tobacco curing barn

The government is failing to reward tobacco farmers for their hard work and efforts, and it has, of late, been paying them in useless local RTGS currency, making them poor.

As a result, many tobacco farmers have shifted to growing other crops that are less labour and capital intensive.

Mujuru was fired by the longtime Zimbabwean ruler Robert Mugabe in December 2014 from both Zanu PF and the government at the instigation of Emmerson Mnangagwa, who was paving his way to replace Mugabe in the Zanu PF presidential succession race.

She was fired three years after the mysterious death of her husband, Solomon Mujuru, who died in an inferno.

Military sources say Mnangagwa eliminated General Mujuru to weaken his wive (Joice) politically.

In an extraordinary Government gazette on Monday, President Mnangagwa said: “Now, therefore, under and by the virtue of the powers invested in the President, l do by this my Proclamation declare the names and boundaries of the wards and the House of Assembly and Senatorial Constituencies as finally determined by the Commission, which names boundaries set out in the schedule to this Proclamation, to the Wards and National Assembly and the Senatorial Constituencies of Zimbabwe for the purposes of the forthcoming and any subsequent general election.”

Addressing thousands of youths during the National Youth Day commemorations in Lupane yesterday, President Mnangagwa said he will soon make a proclamation of the election date.
“The delimitation report has now been gazetted. I will soon be making a proclamation of the harmonised elections date. Meanwhile, I would like to highlight that my Government is ready to receive our citizens from South Africa who wish to come home,” he said.

Zimbabweans living in South Africa under the Zimbabwe Exemption Permits (ZEP) are due to return home this year when this facility expires.
Government has pledged to help the citizens so that they can get home with their possessions and start-up here.
The special permit was granted to nearly 170 000 Zimbabweans working, studying and living in South Africa but expires at the end of June this year. A fair number have or are in the process of obtaining other work permits so they can stay, but a lot will have to leave.
The President implored youths to vote for Zanu-PF and observe peace as the country heads toward elections.
‘As per the requirement of the constitution, our country will soon be holding our harmonized elections. As peace-loving people, let us continue to guard and protect the stability we are enjoying in our nation by saying no to violence and rejecting those bent on causing mayhem, turmoil, and insecurity in our nation,” he said.
“The majority of you, our young people will be voting in these elections, some for the first time. I challenge you to exercise this sacred right, responsibly, aware that it was paid for by the blood of many sons and daughters of Zimbabwe, some of whom were your age.”
President Mnangagwa said the democratic right to vote is a right that must never be taken lightly.
‘It was not given on a silver platter. Your individual and collective votes as a demographic group must defend, protect and guard the independence, sovereignty and national interests of our motherland, Zimbabwe,” he said.
The President implored youths to register to vote and mobilise for a resounding Zanu-PF victory.
“Zan u PF is the party that brought about independence. It is the only party with policies, programmes and projects to lift many of our people out of poverty into prosperity,” he said.
“It is the only party with the vision for the future. This must be at the centre of your conversations as the various youth groups.”
President Mnangagwa said the Government led by the revolutionary party, Zanu-PF remains committed to facilitating the youth access to relevant spaces in the body politic of the country.
“Our promise to broaden your participation in Government remains high on our agenda. The youth seats in Parliament and their appointment into strategic positions in both the revolutionary party, Zanu-PF and within Government are assured,” he said.
The President said under the Second Republic, Government is not going back on its commitment to empower young talented people in the country.
“Your multi-faceted roles as entrepreneurs, innovators, and quick adaptors to the use of science, technology and innovation must see you participating fully in mainstream economic activities. If we remain united, peaceful and hardworking, nothing is impossible,” he said. Chronicle

ZEP Holders Demand Compensation

By- Zimbabweans based in South Africa have engaged the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for assistance in ensuring that Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) holders get their employment benefits before returning home.

This follows the decision by the South African government not to extend the permits for ZEP holders.
Permit holders have been given up to June this year to move to other visa provisions or return home.
Government has already established an inter-ministerial committee, which will be in charge of the relocation of ZEP holders in South Africa.
The International Organisation of Migration (IOM) has pledged to collaborate with the Government to assist Zimbabweans return home.
ZEP holders have worked in South Africa for more than 10 years and are expected to receive employment benefits when their permits are terminated.
However, most of the ZEP holders do not qualify for other available visas in the neighbouring country as they do not hold the specified critical skills qualifications.
The Zimbabwean Embassy in South Africa is already seized with drafting an online database to assist in the movement of returning citizens.
While the Zimbabwean Community in South Africa has welcomed the interventions by the Government, the organisation’s chairperson, Mr Ngqabutho Mabhena, said ZEP holders are concerned about the employment benefits ahead of the expiration of their permits.
He said they were engaging both the South African government and ILO so that workers do not lose out when their permits expire.
“One of the issues that we are working on and still consulting is to assist those who would not have been able to move to other visas to be able to get their work benefits like the Provident Fund,” he said.
“Workers who are holders of ZEP are asking us about the procedure and we are talking to the Department of Labour in Pretoria and we are talking to the International Labour Organisation, they have an office in Pretoria to see how we can assist these workers so that they do not lose out on their benefits.”
Under the Provident Fund, employees receive money depending on the taxes they would have paid. Mr Mabhena said ZEP holders have been part of the South African economy for more than 10 years and accrued some benefits in the process.
“They have been part of the South African economy for the last 13 years and it is our considered view that if they decide to relocate they should be able to take their benefits with them,” said Mr Mabhena.
He said they were closely following the Government’s interventions in assisting returnees.
“We welcome the intervention by the Zimbabwean Government to assist those that are returning to Zimbabwe. What is a worry to most people is that they do have properties and as returning residents and they should not be paying duty,” he said.
“We are happy that the Zimbabwean Government is facilitating that so that people move to Zimbabwe with their goods, their properties, with their vehicles and those items that ordinarily they would have to pay duty for.”
He said ZEP holders should take up the online registration programme, which Government has extended to them.
Mr Mabhena said ZEP holders are concerned over their reintegration to the Zimbabwean society as most of them had not invested much back home.
The online registration is being conducted to map areas in which ZEP holders are located.
Briefing the South African press at the beginning of the month, Zimbabwean Ambassador to South Africa Ambassador David Hamadziripi said Government said the online registration runs from February 2 and ending March 3.
More than 180 000 ZEP holders could face deportation if they do not migrate to other visas offered by the South African government by the end of June if they do not voluntarily return home. Chronicle

Key Facts About Mental Disorders

Almost all people affected by emergencies will experience psychological distress, which for most people will improve over time.

Among people who have experienced war or other conflict in the previous 10 years, one in five (22%) will have depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
People with severe mental disorders are especially vulnerable during emergencies and need access to mental health care and other basic needs.
International guidelines recommend services at a number of levels ̶ from basic services to clinical care ̶ and indicate that mental health care needs to be made available immediately for specific, urgent mental health problems as part of the health response.
Despite their tragic nature and adverse effects on mental health, emergencies have shown to be opportunities to build sustainable mental health systems for all people in need.
Types of problems
There are various types of social and mental health problems in any large emergency.

Social problems:

pre-existing: e.g. poverty and discrimination of marginalized groups;
emergency-induced: e.g. family separation, lack of safety, loss of livelihoods, disrupted social networks, and low trust and resources; and
humanitarian response-induced: e.g. overcrowding, lack of privacy, and undermining of community or traditional support.
Mental health problems:

pre-existing: e.g. mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia or harmful use of alcohol;
emergency-induced: e.g. grief, acute stress reactions, harmful use of alcohol and drugs, and depression and anxiety, including post-traumatic stress disorder; and
humanitarian response-induced: e.g. anxiety due to a lack of information about food distribution or about how to obtain basic services.
Prevalence
Most people affected by emergencies will experience distress (e.g. feelings of anxiety and sadness, hopelessness, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, irritability or anger and/or aches and pains).

This is normal and will for most people improve over time. However, the prevalence of common mental disorders such as depression and anxiety is expected to more than double in a humanitarian crisis.

The burden of mental disorders among conflict-affected populations is extremely high: WHO’s review of 129 studies in 39 countries showed that among people who have experienced war or other conflict in the previous 10 years, one in five people (22%) will have depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia (1).

According to WHO’s review, the estimated prevalence of mental disorders among conflict- affected populations at any specific point in time (point prevalence) is 13% for mild forms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder and 4% for moderate forms of these disorders. The estimated point prevalence for severe disorders (i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, severe anxiety, and severe post-traumatic stress disorder) is 5%. It is estimated that one in 11 people (9%) living in a setting that has been exposed to conflict in the previous 10 years will have a moderate or severe mental disorder.

In conflict-affected settings, depression and anxiety increase with age. Depression is more common in women than in men.

People with severe mental disorders can be especially vulnerable during and after emergencies and they need access to basic needs and clinical care. A review published in 2014 of the health information system from 90 refugee camps across 15 low- and middle-income countries found that 41% of health-care visits for mental, neurological and substance use disorders were for epilepsy/seizures, 23% for psychotic disorders, and 13% for moderate and severe forms of depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder.

Effective emergency response
WHO-endorsed interagency mental health and psychosocial support guidelines for an effective response to emergencies recommend services at a number of levels – from basic services to clinical care. Clinical care for mental health should be provided by or under the supervision of mental health specialists such as psychiatric nurses, psychologists or psychiatrists.

Community self-help and social support should be strengthened, for example by creating or re-establishing community groups in which members solve problems collaboratively and engage in activities such as emergency relief or learning new skills, while ensuring the involvement of people who are vulnerable and marginalized, including people with mental disorders.

Psychological first aid offers first-line emotional and practical support to people experiencing acute distress due to a recent event and should be made available by field workers, including health staff, teachers or trained volunteers.

Basic clinical mental health care covering priority conditions (e.g. depression, psychotic disorders, epilepsy, alcohol and substance abuse) should be provided at every health-care facility by trained and supervised general health staff.

Psychological interventions (e.g. problem-solving interventions, group interpersonal therapy, interventions based on the principles of cognitive-behavioural therapy) for people impaired by prolonged distress should be offered by specialists or by trained and supervised community workers in the health and social sector.

Protecting and promoting the rights of people with severe mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities is especially critical in humanitarian emergencies. This includes visiting, monitoring and supporting people at psychiatric facilities and residential homes.

Links and referral mechanisms need to be established between mental health specialists, general health-care providers, community-based support and other services (e.g. schools, social services and emergency relief services such as those providing food, water and housing/shelter).

Looking forward: emergencies can build better mental health systems
Mental health is crucial to the overall social and economic recovery of individuals, societies, and countries after emergencies.

Global progress on mental health reform will happen more quickly if, during every crisis, efforts are initiated to convert the short-term increase in attention to mental health issues combined with a surge of aid, into momentum for long-term service development. Many countries have capitalized on emergency situations to build better mental health systems after crises.

In the Syrian Arab Republic, despite — or perhaps because of — the challenges presented by the ongoing conflict, mental health services and psychosocial support are becoming more widely available than ever before. Mental health and psychosocial support is now offered in primary and secondary health and social care facilities, through community and women’s centres and through school-based programmes, in more than 12 Syrian cities located in governorates severely affected by the conflict. This contrasts with the situation before the conflict, when mental health care was mainly provided in mental hospitals in Aleppo and Damascus.

In Sri Lanka, during the immediate aftermath of the 2004 tsunami, mental health was a key priority. This led to a mental health system reform, supported by WHO, which addressed the shortage of human resources for mental health such as different cadres of dedicated mental health staff. As a result, 20 of the country’s 27 districts now have mental health services infrastructure, compared with only 10 before the tsunami.

When Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines in 2013, there were only two facilities that provided basic mental health services and the number of people able to provide support was insufficient to meet the need. A major scale up of government mental health services was supported by WHO and partners. As a result, 100% of the Philippines general health facilities in the affected region now have staff who are trained in the management of mental disorders.

Mental health should also be a component of national disaster preparedness plans. WHO and the Pan-American Health Organization are supporting countries in the Caribbean sub-region of the Americas so that they will be able to provide adequate mental health and psychosocial support to people in need following hurricanes and other natural disasters.

In many humanitarian and conflict settings, access to quality, affordable mental health care is limited. This access can be further diminished due to public health emergencies such as COVID-19, which tend to disrupt services and increase needs further.

WHO response
WHO is the lead agency in providing technical advice on mental health in emergency situations. In 2022 WHO is operational on mental health in a range of countries and territories affected by large-scale emergencies such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, South Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, the West Bank and Gaza Strip and Yemen.

Practical Business Tips

With Nick Masaiti

When you are selling a box of cereal on a supermarket shelf, you are not just competing with other cereal brands on the same aisle. You are competing with all the other 1000+ brands in that supermarket.

Until recently, it’s been reasonable to assume that the way to make customers remember a brand is to differentiate it from its competitors: “Our mobile app has more features, and the other guys don’t.” But your competition isn’t just the other guy’s app.

When you sit down to create a new product or service, you are competing with every brand out there. You’re competing with every marketing message that’s running on every platform on every device on the face of the planet.

You’re competing for attention with every commercial ever aired, every text message ever sent, each billboard on every road, the entire bandwidth across the radio, and every one of the 100 quadrillion pixels on the Web.

All those other Businesses want a piece of your customer’s attention. And they’re going to get it at your expense. Seen from this perspective, through the teeming forest of brands vying for customers’ attention, “cutting through the clutter” may require more than just giving your brand a simple USP.

It calls for a big, noisy, smoking chain saw. But that full-page advert in the big papers isn’t what I mean by a chain saw.

The chain saw you need is guts to be different.

So Mr Mnangagwa Wants To Release Wiwa From Prison After Polls ?

CCC Rubbishes Mnangagwa’s National Youth Day

Step By Step Guidelines In Mine Management

By A Correspondent
Smart mining

Gold is leading economic booster of major towns and growth points in Zimbabwe .

You have to understand how the economy of gold works .

Gold itself is currency that can be exchanged many times before reaching the reserve bank . You have to pick what meets your personality inorder to cut your piece in this larger cake of natural resource tactfully inorder to save resources and avoid risks.

These opportunities range from setting up a hardware in growth points , setting up a food out in growth points and as close as possible to the mines as possible, construction company, retail shop , clothing shops in growth points and many more .In this post we will cover direct opportunities right inside the mine .

1 Transport and logistics
You buy a truck or tractor to service surrounding mines for a fee depending on local prices.

Consider the following when buying a tractor or truck

1 cheap: in order to compete well you should cut the cost of buying a tractor or truck preferably old model with parts available in the country.
2 reliable: get something that would be accessible easily; with less breakdowns, a good driver who can put up in the Bush with a functioning fone .

3 Affordable your pricing is should be reasonable or inline with local prices for innovators try pay “pay per view model ” . Charging per kilometre .

Budget between 6000usd and 10 000usd . Return on investment around 6months.
Supply of raw materials by loan.

You sell directly to miners explosives, diesel and compressor by loan
Explosives: help them to get a licence to store and use explosives then buy and sell to them at profit inside the licensed mine only .

Diesel supply diesel to miners at loan or agreed fee payment after milling.

Compressor hire : buy a compressor loan for shares and cash payments.

For the above three Budget starts from 2000usd upwards .
Cyanide plant building: Budget 5000usd upwards this cannot be covered in one post .

Selling safety clothing: one of major high income with less capital is selling safety clothing to miners for cash regardless of how many outlets have been opened .

Diesel powered windlass: this is a Chinese version of headgear but cannot be classified as one can move a tonne of ore at once versus 0;1tonne for traditional human powered windlass.
Mine compliance assistance : some people struggle to maintain and meet mining standards they could need financing.
Budget open .

NB there are investments as low as 500usd but difficult to maintain and risky recommended for those already familiar with the industry.

ZLHR INTERVENES TO COMBAT CHILD TRAFFICKING

ZIMBABWE Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has intensified efforts to rescue a three year-old baby, who is a victim of child trafficking, by partnering with Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), in a bid to save the minor child.

The three year-old baby was separated from her mother Charlene Gugulethu Moyo in December 2022 after her grandmother Clara Ndlovu asked Moyo to allow her grandchild to visit her home in Bulawayo and spend time with her during the festive season with the agreement that the child would be returned home towards the opening of schools in
January 2023.

Moyo’s child was not returned and instead the mother received a picture from some of Ndlovu’s relatives with information that the child was enjoying the festive season in South Africa.

Alarmed that her daughter was undocumented and did not have any travel document such as a passport to allow entry into South Africa and that as her biological mother, she never signed the internationally required affidavit that she was consenting to her child travelling
beyond Zimbabwe’s borders, Moyo filed a report at Pumula Police Station about her missing three year-old child.

Instead, ZRP officers at Pumula Police Station referred Moyo to the Children’s Court after advising her to apply for custody of her minor child, and with Ndlovu having travelled to her rural home in Buhera in Manicaland province, service of summons for the grandmother to appear in court could not be effected and the matter was never heard in court.

This compelled Moyo to engage ZLHR lawyer Prisca Dube on 1 February 2023 who contacted law enforcement agents at Pumula Police Station to verify why they had refused to open a docket for the contravention of the Trafficking in Persons Act.

On 2 February 2023, Dube told police officers at Pumula Police Station that in terms of the Trafficking in Persons Act, an offence had been committed and thus a docket should be opened to enable the minor child to be brought back to Zimbabwe.

On 3 February 2023, police officers advised Dube that investigations were now underway.
Moyo informed Dube that the father of the minor child was demanding that she should pay a certain cross-border driver ZAR1 000 to facilitate the return of her daughter and this information was relayed to ZRP officers.

On 13 February 2023, the human rights lawyer wrote a letter to the Officer-in-Charge of Pumula Police Station only identified as Inspector Madlambe requesting to be furnished with a progress report on the child trafficking incident and she was advised that an
investigating officer Constable Ngwena, was now tasked with leading investigations into the matter.

On 16 February 2023, ZRP officers contacted Dube requesting to be furnished with the minor child’s birth certificate and her clear photograph, which they need to send to International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) to be assisted in South Africa in getting the minor child back to Zimbabwe.

Marange Quartet Strip Na_ked At Funeral

By A Correspondent- Four Marange men recently str!pped nɑkǝd and danced provocatively during an elderly woman’s funeral, thereby drawing the ire of the local traditional leadership.

Fungai Mhise, Zivanai Matenhese, Lloyd Matenhese and Garikai Magumezano stand accused of disrespecting the dead as well as trampling upon the Marange traditions and customs.

The four nɑkǝd men twǝrked and caused a scene at the funeral of one Gogo Matenhese.

Zivanai and Lloyd are grandchildren to the late Gogo Matenhese, while Mhise and Magumezano were her neighbours.

The quartet appeared before Chief Marange last week on Sunday.

Chief Marange said because of their actions, they risk being banished from the area.

It was alleged that during the funeral, Mhise and his friends were drinking some illicit brews.

With the alcohol getting the better of them, they started singing offensive songs and dancing provocatively in front of everyone.

In presenting his report, Village head Matowe said he was assaulted by the quartet when he tried to stop them from disrespecting the customs of the land.

I had trouble controlling these men. They assaulted me when I tried to talk to them. Their friend who was also part of this madness has failed to attend this court session as he is not feeling well after abusing alcohol during the funeral.

“He is an amputee who uses crutches, but he danced so much, resulting in him falling down and injuring himself in the process. His face is swollen and he has wounds all over the body as a result. It seems as if they were all possessed by some evil spirits,” said the village head.

Village head Matowe also said when they were conducting traditional rituals at the funeral, he asked all men to remove their hats as per their custom, but the culprits refused.

“Magumezano shouted that he would not remove his hat unless all women removed their head wraps as well. It is our custom that a woman’s head should be covered all the time,” said the village head.

However, Magumezano denied committing the offence, saying he was herding cattle on the day in question and did not attend the funeral.

“I only attended that funeral in the morning. These are all lies. I was not drunk on the day, I was herding cattle as I am a employed as a herd boy,” he said.

However, Mhise and Zivanai said they were drinking alcohol and dancing with Magumezano as he had brought the cattle to the funeral.

We are very sorry. I did not know what I was doing. I only got to know afterwards and I am so ashamed of my unbecoming behaviour. My relatives are shunning me because of this. I am so sorry,” said Mhise.

Village head Matowe said he tried to reason with Magumezano to take his cattle elsewhere, all to no avail.

“He was herding his cattle at the cemetery. I ordered him to leave, but he would not listen. They overpowered me and started dancing provocatively in front of other mourners,” said Village Head Matowe.

Chief Marange said the culprits deserve a stern punishment that will act as a deterrent to would-be offenders.

“Some people were grieving, but you failed to respect them through your provocative dances.

“It is a shame that Zivanai and Lloyd you failed to respect your own grandmother. Instead, you teamed up with your friends and caused havoc, thereby disrespecting the elders present at the funeral as well as the traditional leadership.

“It is a taboo in this area for someone to act in the way that you did and you will get a punishment that is befitting. That punishment will discourage you from performing such reckless dances in public. I promise you, you will never do it again,” said Chief Marange.

The matter was adjourned to February 20 for sentencing.

Darin Man Fondles Woman In Full View Of Hubby

By A Correspondent- Ii is apparently the worst form of disrespect in the world!

A 30-year-old man was arrested for f0ndl!ng a 24-year-old woman’s privɑtǝs in the presence of her husband.

This came to light when Tafadzwa Maponga from Glendale in Mashonaland central province appeared before Concession magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

Maponga pleaded not guilty but was convicted due to overwhelming evidence and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment of which six months were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.

The remaining six months were suspended on condition that he performs 210 hours of community service at Rusununguko Primary School.

Appearing for the State, prosecutor Precious Khanye told the court that on 22 December 2022 and at around 7pm the complainant whose name is being withheld for ethical reasons was sitting on a bench outside a bottle store selling groundnuts.

It was proved that Maponga advanced towards the complainant and upon reaching her and for no apparent reason he inserted his left hand inside her skirt.

As if that was not enough, a daring Maponga went on to repeatedly f0ndle the complainant’s privɑtǝs.

Surprisingly, the woman’s husband was sitting next to her and he did nothing as his wife was being f0ndled.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the accused’s arrest.

“We Need Church Leaders Who Speak Truth To Power”

By Patrick Guramatunhu- Zimbabwe is NOT a democratic nation and the country has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections ever since the country’s independence in 1980. We have, in the ruling party, Zanu PF, leaders who not only believe they have the divine right to rule the country but would rather burn down the whole country than let anyone else ruling it.

They have but contempt for the people’s right, in a free, fair and credible elections, to have the final say in who rules the country.

“A year on from the coup that ousted Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe remains perched between piecemeal reform and old ways that are as intractable as they are destructive. That’s because the country is ruled by a clique with a partial and conditional commitment to change—and a total, obdurate determination to retain and enjoy power,” wrote Stuart Duran in ASPI Strategist.

“The ‘new’ regime can be viewed from different angles, but the nub of it is this: there’s a recognition that the economic fiasco of the last 20 years was suboptimal, but Emmerson Mnangagwa and his fellow travellers will burn the house down if they feel it necessary. Make no mistake, their will to power is every bit as intense as Mugabe’s—as is their belief that they own the country’s choicest fruits by right of conquest.

“There’s no comprehending Zimbabwe without an appreciation of that mentality. Yet many fail to get it because they don’t read the country’s history. In 1979, at the height of the struggle against white rule, a diplomat who mixed frequently with Mugabe and other leaders of his party observed that ‘ZANU does not seem to attach much importance to the destruction caused by prolonged war’. They said they were content to see Zimbabwe ‘totally’ demolished if that was the price to be paid for preventing others from ruling it. That attitude has not changed an iota, notwithstanding the passage of 40 years and Mugabe’s departure. After all, the men who now rule wielded his hatchets for most of that period.”

One of the life-time lesson I have learned from my Secondary School days is to read the examination question very carefully and answer the question asked. “You will not get marks for answering the question, you wanted to be asked!” my Bible Knowledge teacher reminded us regularly.

The success or failure of post independent Zimbabwe was dependent the nation on understanding and dealing with the willingness “to burn the house down in pursuit of right of conquest” Zanu PF mentality. This is at the heart of the problem of good governance. Our performance on this matter so far has been pathetic and little wonder the country is in a serious economic and political mess.

It took many Zimbabweans nearly 20 years to finally accept that Zanu PF was a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical regime that was rigging elections to stay in power. A national consensus was reached on the need for democratic changes to end Zanu PF’s dictatorial powers and restore the rule of law and the people’s freedoms and right including the right to free and fair elections. nothing of any substance could ever be accomplished as long as the retained carte blanche powers to rig elections and impose itself on the nation.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elected the MDC/CCC leaders on the understanding the party will implement the democratic changes the nation was dying for, as the party name implied. Sadly MDC/CCC have not only failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years, including 5 in the 2008 to 2013 GNU, but, worst of all, has been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF political legitimacy.

Instead of focusing all political and social pressure on Zanu PF’s blatant denial of the people’s right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and the opposition selling out on reforms, it is disappointing that the church and other civic bodies have chosen to bury their heads in the sand and pretend Zimbabwe is a healthy and functioning democracy. Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections and calls for free elections will not stop the rigging especially after 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections!

“As the nation heads towards the harmonised elections, we urge all political players to desist from the use of violence. The people’s fundamental rights should be respected at all times. There is no citizen who should be intimidated or coerced, and worse still, be beaten to make a choice,” Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC) said in a statement.

“As a nation, we have in the past seen a lot of violence around elections; let this election be different. The people of this country dream and yearn for a free, credible and fair election.”

Yeah right! Of course, it will take a lot more than a word of encouragement to stop Zanu PF rigging elections; especially after 43 years of rigged elections and the urgent need to end this insanity, given the nation very existence is now at stake.

What the nation is yearning for church leaders who will tell Zanu PF leaders they do not have the divine right to rule Zimbabwe; never had and never will. Church leaders who will speak truth to power!

Mnangagwa Tells Zim Youths To Stay And Suffer In Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa  yesterday told Zimbabwean youths to stop going to South Africa in search of greener pastures and rely on his yet to be fulfilled promises of turning around the economy.

He made the remarks during the National Youth Day commemorations held yesterday at the Lupane State University under the theme Drug and substance abuse a threat to vision 2030; every community’s responsibility.

“There will be no need for our people to go to Egoli in search of employment, come home, the country is growing,” Mnangagwa said.

South Africa is the main destination for many Zimbabweans and other African nationals seeking a better life.

Mnangagwa’s remarks came as Pretoria has since announced that it would not further extend the Zimbabwean Exemption Permits (Zeps) for Zimbabweans in that country beyond June 30, 2023.

The Zeps, first introduced in 2010 under the Dispensation of Zimbabweans Project, were the South African government’s temporary response to the large numbers of Zimbabweans flocking to the country since 2008 due to economic and political crises back home.

The permits were initially due to expire on December 31, 2022, but were later extended to end of June this year.

As early as October, government announced that it was prepared to receive its nationals returning from South Africa by offering them transport and other logistics.

Turning to the issue of drugs, Mnangagwa revealed that government was reviewing laws on drug abuse as he expressed concern over widespread illegal substance abuse in the country.

“Zimbabwe is not a drug producer; laws on drugs and substances are receiving urgent attention,” Mnangagwa said.

We Are Stuck!

By Nomusa Garikai- In an interview with AFP Nelson Chamisa admitted that Zimbabwe’s electoral process has “always attracted controversy” and is “littered with rigging, manipulation” and it is his reaction that we should focus on.

“It’s going to be a rough campaign, hard hat equipment is necessary,” said Chamisa.

“It’s quite a hostile environment, we need to be equipped for it.”

It is this reckless and cavalier attitude coupled with the inert inability to comprehend the core values, separating the grain from the chuff, which explain why Zimbabwe has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections these last 43 years. We are stuck!

Zimbabweans are going to the election in five months or so and yet ZEC has still stubbornly refused to produce a verified voters’ roll. The Commission has already produced the delimitation report; no one knows what voters’ roll was used to do the delimitation.

The law demands that there should be a verified voters’ roll at least one calendar month before nomination day. This is no likely to happen before the 2023 elections. In the past Nelson Chamisa and his friends in the opposition have participated in the elections without a verified voters’ roll. They are set to do so again this year.

Zanu PF has denied 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote, reneging on a promise Mnangagwa made is 2018. There will be no diaspora vote as long as the sanctions imposed on Zanu PF leaders by the West remain, explained Zanu PF’s Patrick Chinamasa. The Zanu PF leaders on the sanctions list are barred from travelling freely in the western nation that imposed the sanction and thus putting the party at a disadvantage came the campaigning for diaspora vote. This is just a feeble excuse for denying diaspora vote.

For a start, why should the Zimbabweans in the diaspora be denied their fundamental right just because Zanu PF and the West have quarrelled? Even if one accepted the travel ban will put Zanu PF at a disadvantage, why has the regime denied the vote to Zimbabweans in SADC countries and all the other countries which have no travel restrictions on party leaders.

The truth is Most of the Zimbabweans in the diaspora are economic and/or political refugees and they blame Zanu PF for their plight. They are therefore not likely to vote for the regime. And, to crown it all, the Zanu PF vote rigging machinations effective in Zimbabwe will not be so effective in foreign lands.

It should be noted here that Mnangagwa won the 2018 elections with 2.4 million or 50.8% of the votes; the 3 million diaspora votes constitute 37% of the potential voters.

How can the election be free, fair and credible there is no verified voters’ roll or when one side is allowed to cherry pick the electorate and deny 37% of the potential voters the vote?

There are no “hard hat area” measures Chamisa or anyone can take to stop rigging when there is no verified voters’ roll. The verified voters’ roll is the Bible against to carry a thorough audit of  who is eligible to vote, who voted, etc., etc.

MDC leaders failed to implement even one token democratic reform to end the Zanu PF autocratic rule in 23 years, including the 5 in the 2008 to 2013 GNU because they were confident of winning the 2013 elections “regardless of the Zanu PF vote rigging shenanigans”, as the late Morgan Tsvangirai admitted to journalist Tawanda Majoni.

The truth is Chamisa and company do not real care how about rule of law, reforms, free elections, or how decades of bad governance have cause heartbreaking human suffering and deaths in Zimbabwe. They only thing they really care about is securing political power at all costs. Sadly, they don’t even have the common sense realise implementing the democratic reforms would have secure certain electoral victory for them.

As for the MDC/CCC post GNU position of the party having winning in rigged elections strategies. It is just hot air underlining just how naive and incompetent and utterly useless they are. As much as Chamisa is claiming to be equipped for 2023 elections; we can be certain of one thing he will be complaining of Zanu PF stealing the elections the morning after the voting is done – complaining about the very things he is saying he is equipped to deal with.

The failure to produce a verified voters’ roll, denying diaspora or 37% of the voters the vote, etc. are blatant vote rigging moves that render the election utter meaningless and must never ever be tolerated. Nelson Chamisa et al failed to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and, to hide their betrayal, they are claiming these blatant rigging is normal.

It insane to keep participating in such flawed and illegal elections only to give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. After 43 years of rigged elections and with the nation is a serious economic and political mess, the need to implement the reforms and end this madness has never been more urgent that it is now!

Co-Director In Court For Corruptily Concealing US$11k Transaction

A co-director of MA Auto Spares, Michael Smith was last Friday arraigned before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi facing charges of corruptly concealing a transaction worth US$11 000 and R124 000 to his fellow director.

Smith is also likely to face more fraud charges. He was granted $100 000 bail.

Allegations are that sometime in October 2019, a fellow director, who is the complainant, left for Australia and failed to return due to COVID-19 restrictions until September this year.

It is alleged that when he returned, he discovered that the company was paying its South African suppliers through a third party, called Mant Procurement [Pvt) Ltd.

The SA registered company is co-owned by Smith and his South African based friend, Tony Oatley.

Smith had not disclosed this arrangement to his principal, the complainant.

MA Auto Supplies later discovered that Mant Procurement was overcharging the company and as a result they suffered prejudice in excess of R100 000.

In February last year, Smith allegedly imported two tents using MA Auto Suppliers (Pvt) Ltd’s resources under the pretence that the tents belonged to the company. He allegedly sold the tents to Ms Horsley for US$1 800 before converting the cash to his own use.

It is alleged that in October, Smith used the same modus operandi to import a Station Wagon Rear Bumper and RHS Carrier and the customer paid R24 259,83 directly into Mant Procurement (Pvt) Ltd’s FNB account.

On another occasion, Smith was authorised by the complainant to sell their Toyota Land Cruiser to his son for US$7 500. Smith allegedly released the vehicle after receiving only US$2 000.

As a result, the company was prejudiced of US$5 500.

It also alleged that Smith attempted to sell three tool boxes to MA Auto Supplies when they already belonged to the company.

The attempt prejudiced the company of US$3 300.

Zanu PF Businessman Loses US$1.5 Million To Fraudster

Businessman Nyasha Watyoka and Zanu PF parliamentary candidate for Warren Park Gilbert Muponda lost a property valued at US$1,5 million after a suspected fraudster changed their company registry papers and sold the company’s residential property as his.

The accused, Martin Murimirambeva appeared last week before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje on summons. He was remanded to March 13 for trial.

Watyoka and Muponda are directors and shareholders of Theright Investments (Pvt) Ltd.

It is the State’s case that sometime in 2003 Watyoka and Muponda acquired a company named Theright Investment (Pvt) Ltd, which owned a property at number 9064 Belgravia, Harare.

The two became the sole shareholders of the company and they registered themselves as directors of the company.

It is alleged that on December 10, 2020 the accused person together with his accomplice Leno Be Villiers, who is still at large, fraudulently registered themselves as directors of Theright Investments (Pvt) Ltd after misrepresenting facts to the registrar of companies that Watyoka and Muponda had resigned.

The accused persons went on to fraudulently sell the company’s property known as stand number 9064 Belgravia, Harare to a company named Kunzekwayedza (Pvt) Ltd at an alleged price of $6 625 000 which was way below the actual market value of the property.

The complainants later discovered the offence and reported the matter to the Chief Registrar of Deeds and Companies who instituted internal investigations, which established what had happened.

The businessmen reported the case to the police leading to the arrest of the accused person.

The total value of the potential prejudice is US$1,5 million.

ZEC Warned Against Exorbitant Nomination Fees

The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (Zesn) has urged the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) to consider lowering its nomination fees to encourage youths to participate as candidates in this year’s harmonised polls.

Zec’s nomination fees were gazetted through Statutory Instrument (SI 144) have been deemed exorbitant, with a presidential candidate expected to fork out US$20 000, up from US$1 000.

A Member of Parliament and local authority candidate will part with US$1 000 up from US$50 and a proportional representation member will pay US$200, up from US$100.

Zesn said Zimbabwe’s presidential nomination fees are four times higher than fees charged in Zambia, and almost 10 times higher than Kenya’s nomination fees. The electoral systems in Eswatin, Angola and Mozambique do not require nomination fees for MPs.

The electoral watchdog said the exorbitant fees would hinder young people, who constitute 67% of the country’s population to participate in electoral processes as candidates.

“The Zimbabwe Election Support Network joins the nation in commemorating the National Youth Day and calls for active participation of youth in electoral processes in line with section 67 of the Zimbabwean Constitution,” read the Zesn statement.

“The National Youth Day established to recognise youths and their contributions to different areas in the country comes at a time the country is preparing for the 2023 harmonised elections. Further, Zesn welcomes the institutionalisation of the youth quota in the National Assembly to enhance their participation in democratic governance processes as this is something that youths had been lobbying for since 2017.

“However, there is need for government and political parties to employ the 25% threshold as outlined in the National Youth Policy, to ensure representation of youth in all public office and leadership positions from the grassroots going upwards, for example village, ward, and council to national level,” the Zesn statement added.

Mnangagwa Gazettes Delimitation Report

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has gazetted the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission delimitation report with boundaries of wards, the house of assembly and senatorial constituencies for use in the forthcoming general elections.

In an Extraordinary Gazette under Statutory Instrument 14 of 2023, President Mnangagwa said he received the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s final delimitation report on the 17th of February, 2023.

“Now, therefore, under and by virtue of the powers vested in the President as aforesaid, I do by this my Proclamation declare the names and boundaries of wards and the House of Assembly and Senatorial Constituencies as finally determined by the Commission, which names and boundaries are set out in the Schedule to this Proclamation, to be the wards and House of Assembly and Senatorial Constituencies of Zimbabwe for the forthcoming and any subsequent elections,” he said.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission embarked on a voter registration blitz last year, meant to inform the delimitation report.

The report was then submitted to the President for onward submission to Parliament for debate before being sent back to ZEC.

President Mnangagwa and Parliament also contributed their views regarding the draft preliminary delimitation report which culminated in the final report.- ZBC News

War Breaks Out Between Vapositori4ED Over Mine

War has broken out between two Madzibaba4ED leaders over a mine. An audio video clip, featuring Johanne the Fifth of Africa Church Archbishop, Andy Makururu, attacking his former church mate, has gone viral.

The fallout started when the former church chairman, Madzibaba Danniel Mutori, threatened to expose Makururu’s secrets. The church leader indicated he was ready to curse Mutori.

“I am now going to reverse all the prayers, and blessings; you are going to turn back into a pedestrian,” he said.

“You are going to look for me since I have reversed all my prayers for you.”

Makururu accused Mutori of being ungrateful. “You came to me with your papers looking for prayers, you used me asking me to bless you when you started your mine.

“I did the prayers thinking I was helping my son only for you to lift a spear and point it at me the following day.

“However, I am not turning this same spear towards you because you are confused. I need my shares that you promised me.”

Contacted for comment, Mutori said Makururu was angered by his decision to leave the church.

“The reason why I am being fought by Makururu of Johanne the Fifth of Africa Church is because I left his church.

“He is jealous of my mining project, which I invested in alone. I started this project in 2018 and I am 42 years old now.

“I joined his church in Penhalonga before I relocated to Harare where I left the church at their Chadcombe base.

“I am not the only one being fought by him, they are many of us being fought for leaving the church.”

Mutori said he sensed he was unwanted during a recent church gathering in Masvingo.

“It started in Masvingo at his church conference where only my name was being talked about rather than the word of God.

“Again, our company is in line with the statutory mining protocols, because all the gold from all these carbon rooms goes straight to Fidelity.

“ZIMRA is aware of me, I have returns and accounts where I deposit this gold.

“Archbishop Makururu started by sending a terrifying message in which said he wanted to sink me.

“I forwarded that message to one of the church elders called Madzibaba Androge, who then forwarded the message back to Archbishop Andy who further threatened me.”

Mutori told H-Metro that he never entered into an agreement with Makururu.

“I never promised him anything, I just thought he was just praying for me like anyone else.

“Following the fallout, an intruder entered our house and stole my phone, some of the exhibits, and money from my wife’s bag, whilst we were asleep.

“I reported this to Penhalonga Police under reference number RRB5318259.”

Mutori said he was now doubting Makururu’s source of power.

“I used to believe in his prayers but I now doubt him after he demanded shares from the mine.

“I now doubt him as a genuine Archbishop because he is now swearing, saying he is of ‘Soko’ totem, which shows he has other beliefs.

“I left his church because of strange things happening at the church.

“For instance, Makururu started cutting people’s skins using razor blades, known as kutema nyora, claiming to be injecting blessings into their blood systems. -H Metro/additional

ZEC Says We Removed 600 Dead From Voters Roll

State Media -Over 600 deceased persons have been removed from the voters’ roll by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, in terms of the Electoral Act.
The list of the deceased people was published under General Notice 207 of 2023 in an extra-ordinary Government Gazette published on Friday last week by ZEC chief elections officer Mr Utloile Silaigwana.

Apart from publishing the names of deceased persons, Mr Silaigwana also published the constituencies, wards and polling stations they were registered under.

“The names of those persons will be removed from the voters roll unless notice of appeal is given to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission,” he said.

“By means of this notice, notification is made to any voter on the First Schedule who may be alive to lodge an objection, at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission Mahachi Quantum, No. 1, Nelson Mandela Avenue, corner Kaguvi Street and Jason Moyo Avenue, Harare, and at the respective Commission Provincial Offices, to the inclusion of his or her name in the First Schedule using the form prescribed in the Second Schedule no later than seven days from the date of publication of this notice.”

Mr Silaigwana said the electoral body adhered to its constitutional mandate and always removed names of dead people from the voters’ roll if it was brought to the attention of the Commission.

The removal of deceased persons is a continuous process that the Commission has always been doing when it receives a list of deceased persons from the Registrar General.

In June last year, ZEC removed over 32 000 dead persons from the voters’ roll. -state media

Mnangagwa Announces Election Date Anytime From Now

Shooting in the face of critics who say the delimitation process was not procedural, ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday said he will go ahead to proclaim election dates.

Mnangagwa said that he will now proclaim the date for harmonised elections following the gazetting of the final Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) delimitation report, while Government is ready to welcome back Zimbabweans from South Africa.

The report sets the boundaries for wards and constituencies to be used in the upcoming harmonised elections.

The proclamation by the President follows the presentation of the final report by the electoral body on February 17, pursuant to which, the report should be gazetted within 14 days.

In December last year, ZEC presented its preliminary delimitation report to President Mnangagwa which was tabled before Parliament and referred back to the elections Commission for further consideration.

The presentation of the final report made way for the adoption of the new wards and constituencies in time to meet timelines that should be observed in order for the harmonised elections to be held within the constitutionally permissible time frame.

“To date, we are already seeing many trickling back home and setting up their businesses. Come home, ekhaya, kumusha, we are ready to receive all our citizens.”

– state media/additional reporting

End Of The Road For ZEP

Zimbabweans in South Africa under the ZEP permit, reach the end of their stay, in 4 months from today.

The diasporans have engaged the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for assistance in ensuring that Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) holders get their employment benefits before returning home.

More than 180 000 ZEP holders could face deportation if they do not migrate to other visas offered by the South African government by the end of June if they do not voluntarily return home.- state media

“I Fear Hubby Will Harm Me”

A HARARE woman was forced to flee her violent husband, while nɑkǝd, to seek help from neighbours.

Yesterday, she sought a protection order against her husband, saying she fears that he would harm her.

Doreen Sabure took her husband, Alfred Mudoti, to the Harare Civil Court, accusing him of insulting and assaulting her.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the order to Sabure.

“He usually gets home drunk at night and starts assaulting me, together with the children, until morning.

“The last time he grabbǝd me by the neck threatening to kill me, and he even tried to stab me with a knife.

“I ran away nɑkǝd to seek help from our neighbours.”

She said her husband sometimes pelts her with stones leaving her with serious injuries.

“Whenever he starts throwing stones and bricks at us, we sustain serious injuries and he does not give us money for treatment.

“So, now, when he starts throwing stones, the children and I run to our neighbours for cover.”

In defence, Mudoti blamed his wife for not managing their shops well and continuously demanding money from him.

“I bought shops for her, but she is failing to manage them and constantly comes to me asking for money,” he said.

Mudoti was ordered not to insult, assault or harass his wife and children.

“Murderers” Caught On Camera Hiding Corpse, Suddenly Freed By Court Same Week

warning disturbing video picture image

3 murder suspects accused of allegedly killing a Rusape man last week and were caught on camera dumping his body were granted bail the same week.

Clever Nyabote, Macdonald Ndamba and Takawira Munanzvu were granted $150 000 bail each with reporting conditions by Mutare High Court Judge, Justice Issac Muzenda.

The trio, which was represented by Mr Tendai Bvuma of Bvuma and Associates, is accused of callously murdering Marcus Runduke and dumping his body at Vengere Bus Terminus.

The State was represented by Mr Malvern Musarurwa who opposed bail, arguing that the trio were facing a serious offence and were not proper candidates for bail.

In his bail application, Mr Bvuma said his clients mistook Mr Runduke for a robber after he jumped on to their truck from the driver’s door.

“The now deceased violently hit the window on the driver’s door while attempting to force it open. Applicants assumed the now deceased was a robber, as he was also whistling, probably signaling other accomplices to come. The driver swiftly sped off and after driving for about 70 meters, the now deceased jumped off.

“The applicants were relieved they were now out of danger and proceeded into the CBD. They had US$2 871 on them and thus did not want to risk entertaining suspicious people around the vehicle.

“The following morning they went to Mabvazuva shops where they sold their potatoes up to around 12 noon when they heard some people gossip that they had killed a person and threw him out of their moving vehicle. They drove to Rusape Central Police Station to enquire about the matter and were arrested on their way. Applicants will submit that had they been responsible for the now deceased’s demise, they would not have spent the whole day selling potatoes in the same town,” argued Mr Bvuma.

Mr Bvuma further submitted that the CCTV footage which is being used to nail his clients does not clearly show what transpired and the metal bar found with them is used a lever when attending to faulty tyres.

“It is respectfully submitted that footage does not show the now deceased being assaulted. It does not show the applicants throwing the now deceased from their motor vehicle. The footage does not show whether the now deceased fell on his own accord or that he was pushed or thrown out.

“It is important to point out that the CCTV took the footage from the side of the lorry opposite the driver’s side where the now deceased fell from. It is also important to point out that the footage only shows the truck passing and that as it passed, a person was left on the ground.

“How the person came to be on the ground, the footage does show. The metal bar is used by applicants as a lever when removing a punctured tyre from the motor vehicle and every truck has one or more such bars. It was not used to murder a person as alleged,” submitted Mr Bvuma. -state media

ZIFA Deliberates On Warriors Return To International Football

ZIFA boss Gift Banda
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) members will this Friday convene in Harare to discuss the recommendations made in the ZIFA Restructuring Committee report.

The report was released last month and made many recommendations, including the need to come up with a new and progressive constitution, management and financial accountability at all levels, grassroot football development and viable channels that will fund the organisation.

Interim ZIFA President Gift Banda confirmed to The Herald about the meeting, which is expected to come up with a working document that should guide the football reforms to get the game kicking again and guide towards reinstatement of ZIFA’s membership at FIFA.

Banda said: “Basically, we are going to be unpacking the document that has been produced by the ZIFA Restructuring Committee, putting everything in its rightful place. So we are saying, we have our national constitution as a country, what does it say?

“We have the FIFA constitution that we need to follow, what does it say? We have the recommendations from the Restructuring Committee, what do they say?

“We have the ZIFA constitution in its current form, what does it say? We have the recommendations from the ZIFA Constitutional Review Committee, what do they say? Remember we had started doing the constitutional review long before the Restructuring Committee had come in.

Sikhala Loses Another Application

By-CCC national deputy chairperson Job Sikhala, facing a pair of trials on obstructing justice and inciting violence, is still applying for postponements as he seeks to have the High Court and the Constitutional Court first deal with applications he has already made or plans to make.
The applications are meant to overturn decisions made by a pair of magistrates denying him postponements or the actual dropping of the charges.
Yesterday in the trial on charges of obstructing or defeating the course of justice, he wanted to take his case to the Constitutional Court on the grounds that his constitutional rights were being infringed during the course of the on-going court proceedings.
Through his lawyers, Sikhala indicated that he wanted the Constitutional Court to decide whether or not his rights to equal benefit of the law had not been violated, and whether or not he had been denied the right to a fair hearing.
Lawyer Mr Jeremiah Bamu representing Sikhala said: “We seek to have two questions answered by the Constitutional Court. We want the court to determine whether or not the criminal proceedings under record ACC316/22 amount to a deprivation to equal benefit of the law or not.
“Secondly, we want the Constitutional Court to determine whether or not the criminal proceedings amount to a denial of his right to a fair hearing as enshrined in the Constitution.
“This court is obliged to undertake a factual enquiry and deals with issues of facts that may arise. This is in view of the fact that the question referred to Constitutional Court must have a factual foundation.”
Mr Bamu then called Sikhala as a witness to confirm affidavits to be attached to his application for referral of the matter to the Constitutional Court.
Mr Bamu is expected to submit a written application tomorrow morning.
The State led by Mr Oscar Madhume and Mr Zebadiah Bofu, is also expected to file opposing submissions before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa makes a ruling.
Sikhala lost his bid to have proceedings stayed in his other trial where he is jointly charged with CCC Chitungwiza North legislator Godfrey Sithole on charges of inciting public violence in Nyatsime.
This was after magistrate Mrs Tafadzwa Miti dismissed his application saying there were no chances of success at the High Court on his application for the proceedings to be indefinitely postponed pending determination of his High Court application for review of Mrs Miti’s decision not to recuse herself.
In dismissing Sikhala’s application for stay of proceedings, Mrs Miti said there were no exceptional irregularities in her ruling and her ruling did not have any bearing on the outcome of the trial.
Mr Bamu then applied for postponement of 14 days to allow him to take further instructions from Sikhala and prepare an urgent chamber application to be filed at the High Court.
The State led by Mr George Manokore and Mr Ephraim Zinyandu opposed the application, saying the intention to approach the High Court on an urgent chamber basis had no bearing on the trial.
The State had invited two witnesses, who were ready to testify in the matter. Herald

Zanu PF Bigwigs Fight Over Mutodi

By-Zanu PF senior politicians in Mashonaland East provinces are fighting over the Goromonzi West constituency left vacant by Energy Mutodi.

The former Information deputy minister has relocated to Masvingo’s home province and will not contest for the seat.

According to NewsDay, seasoned ZANU PF politicians – Bornface Mutize and Beata Nyamupinga – are leading the race to take Energy Mutodi’s seat.

Mutize is a ZANU PF central committee member, while Nyamupinga is a former MP of the same constituency.

A senior ZANU PF official in the province who declined to be named confirmed that mobilisation for support has already begun in the constituency. The official said:

After Mutodi announced that he is relocating to Masvingo, some candidates began showing up. We have top Zanu PF officials like Mutize and Nyamupinga, who have publicly declared their interests to contest in the area. It is no longer a secret.

ZANU PF provincial political commissar Lincoln Matare told NewsDay that no one has been given the green light to campaign as the party was occupied with preparations for the 2023 elections.

In 2018, Mutodi won by a narrow margin after the opposition MDC Alliance fielded two candidates, which split the party’s vote.

Energy Mutodi is now a provincial member of ZANU PF’s Masvingo province.

Police Haul Mwonzora Over Death Threats

By- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has opened a docket against the MDC leader Daglous Mwonzora for allegedly issuing death threats to a party employee.

Mwonzora allegedly accuses the employee of pestering him over unpaid wages.

The employee, Mutandwa Machera, reported Mwonzora to the police on Monday following the death threats and a docket was opened under Harare Central IR 021195.

Narrating his experience, Machera said the Mwonzor called him on his cell phone on Sunday, threatening to shoot him.

Machera said:

On 15 February at 15.40 hours, Douglas Mwonzora called me on my phone, threatening to kill me.

He said verbatim, ‘Mutandwa Machera and Kudzanayi Mashumba, I will shoot you if you come to my house. I don’t owe you any money. I am only going to assist you.

Yesterday (Sunday), I also fled my home after Mwonzora threatened me for one minute, 41 seconds telling me ‘I am going to shoot you. I am looking for you. My bodyguards will kill you in my name. Starting with me, if I miss you, my boys will kill you instead.

Mwonzora refers to himself as the government in waiting. How, when he can threaten a worker who is merely demanding his salary.

This was after the employee had vowed to accost the MDC leader at his Harare home to stage a demonstration over his dues.

Machera said he is owed US$9 600 in outstanding wages.

Together with over a dozen party employees, they are owed wages dating back over 13 months.

US Tourists Robbed In Durban CBD

By-Two United States (US) tourists have vowed not to visit Durban ever again after a daylight robbery in the South African city on Sunday.

Peter Livingston, 71, and George Eighmey, 81, were robbed in broad daylight on Sunday in the Durban CBD while taking in the sights.

The US tourists told IOL News that they had arrived in South Africa in December and decided to visit Durban for the weekend.

They had been staying at an Airbnb on the beachfront. Livingston said:

We decided to walk to the Botanical Gardens and hoped to see some of downtown Durban as well.

On our return, as we were walking on Xuma Street, just west of the Workshop Shopping Centre, near an area filled with minivan taxis, we were assaulted in broad daylight, by eight or nine young men.

They forced us to the ground and stole our cellphones and billfolds.

They sat or stood on my friend’s legs and arms to prevent resistance.

They literally tore my pants open struggling for my phone.

There were two police officers across the street. We shouted for help, but no one did anything.

He said the incident occurred in front of numerous street vendors and a lot of other pedestrians.

Livingston said they were grateful they did not require any medical attention. He added:

We don’t know how to make a report and the indifference of the police at the scene did not inspire confidence.

Needless to say, this will be our last trip to Durban. We will advise our friends not to come here either. It is too unsafe.

On Friday, Police Minister Bheki Cele painted a grim picture of the country’s crime statistics from October to December, with most crimes on the increase.

Mnangagwa Gazettes Delimitation Report With Notable Changes

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has gazetted the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) ‘s delimitation report with notable changes to the boundaries of wards, the house of assembly and senatorial constituencies for use in the forthcoming general elections.

In an Extraordinary Gazette under Statutory Instrument 14 of 2023, President Mnangagwa said he received the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s final delimitation report on the 17th of February, 2023.

Now, therefore, under and by virtue of the powers vested in the President as aforesaid, I do by this my Proclamation declare the names and boundaries of wards and the House of Assembly and Senatorial Constituencies as finally determined by the Commission, which names and boundaries are set out in the Schedule to this Proclamation, to be the wards and House of Assembly and Senatorial Constituencies of Zimbabwe for the forthcoming and any subsequent elections.

ZEC embarked on a voter registration blitz last year, meant to inform the delimitation report.

ZEC indicated in the report that when the voter’s roll for delimitation closed on 30 May 2022, Zimbabwe had 5 804 736 registered voters compared to 5 612 464 registered voters in 2007/08

Notable changes in the ZEC delimitation report were observed in the following provinces:

1).  Harare: Three constituencies were created from the Harare South constituency namely, Churu, Harare South and Hunyani. An additional constituency was created in Epworth resulting in Epworth North and Epworth South Constituencies. Harare North was reconfigured and renamed to the Hatcliffe constituency.

2). Bulawayo: Seven constituencies were reconfigured and renamed as follows:

Bulawayo North, Cowdry Park, Emakhandeni-Luveve Entumbane-Njube, Lobengula-Magwegwe Mpopoma-Mzilikazi and Pelandaba-Tshabalala.

3). Manicaland Province: Musikavanhu and Chipinge West were merged to create Chipinge West Constituency. The collapsed constituency formed Chikanga Constituency after Dangamvura-Chikanga was split due to high population.

4). Mashonaland East: Three constituencies namely Chikomba Central, Chikomba East, Chikomba West were reconfigured due to the low registered voter population. As a result, Chikomba Central was collapsed and two Constituencies remain namely Chikomba East and Chikomba West.

5). Masvingo Province: Gutu North was collapsed and merged with other existing constituencies due to a low registered voter population which failed to meet the minimum threshold for a constituency. However the collapsed constituency was replaced by the creation of a new Chiredzi Central Constituency. In the same vein, Zaka East and Zaka West were collapsed and reconfigured to form a new Zaka South Constituency. One of the collapsed constituencies was replaced by the creation of a new Mwenezi North constituency. In effect, the Province retained its previously allocated 26 constituencies.

6). Matabeleland South: The province had very low numbers of registered voters therefore it was allocated 12 constituencies after Bulilima East was collapsed to meet the minimum threshold.

7). Midlands province: Mberengwa South constituency was collapsed and three constituencies now remain i.e., Mberengwa East, Mberengwa West and Mberengwa Central. This collapsed constituency was replaced by the creation of a new Mkoba North constituency.

The commission also stated that it considered the following factors as stipulated in Section 161(6) of the Constitution:

• Physical features;

• The means of communication within an area;

• The geographical distribution of registered voters;

• Any community of interest between registered voters;

• Existing electoral boundaries; and

• Population.

Chamisa Rubbishes Chin’ono’s CCC Wishful Divisions

By-The Nelson Chamisa-led opposition, the Citizens Coalition for Change, has dismissed Hopewell Chin’ono’s party divisions claims.

Chinn’ono recently said that the divisions in the CCC were shown by the continued detention of the opposition’s deputy chairman, Job Sikhala.

He posted on Twitter suggesting that his party had forsaken Sikhala, who has been in jail since June 2022. He tweeted:

One day we will talk about why this warrior is still in jail, and how those close to him betrayed him and go around speaking ill of him, pretending to be with him.

How some were bought, maybe he should tell his own story, but the story will be told. There is always a right time!

Some members of the CCC say Chin’ono’s assertion that Sikhala, whom he shared with cells at Chikurubi Maximum security prison in 2021, was betrayed by those close to him is “not too far-fetched.” They say more could have been done in a bid to secure his release.

However, the party’s Deputy SpokespersonGift Ostallos Siziba dismissed rumours of disunity saying they were fully behind Sikhala. He responded to Chin’ono’s remarks:

Kupi ko?

We are united together in the fight to win Zimbabwe for Change. Job is being failed by a captured judiciary.

He will come home, nothing lasts forever. We have been in prison before (l for one stayed in Chikurubi for more than 60 days without trial) and we know that as long as Zanu PF exists we are jail candidates.

The Zengeza West legislator was arrested and jailed allegedly for inciting the 14 June 2022 violence which erupted in Nyatsime during the funeral wake of slain CCC activist, Moreblessing Ali.

He has been jailed at Chikurubi Maximum Prison, without trial.

Mliswa Blasts State Over Preferential Treatment Given To Robert Mugabe Jnr

Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has blasted the state over the way they handled the Robert Mugabe Junior’s arrest on charges of malicious damage to property saying it clearly showed preferential treatment as anyone would not have been given the same privilege.

Posting on Twitter, Mliswa said since the matter was before the courts, they were supposed to allow the parties involved to appear before the court while any pleas for withdrawals were supposed to be made through the Magistrate as opposed to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

Below is Mliswa’s thread on the release of Robert Junior:

Not that I want him in jail so much but this is just preferential treatment as can be accessed by those with links to certain levels of power. Once the issue had reached the courts it was supposed to be recorded and the parties involved appear before the Magistrate.

The lawyer would then give a plea that they go and negotiate. The Magistrate would rule on that not this underhand business. At the courts any withdrawal should be the initiative of the applicant through the Magistrate not the NPA. If it were someone else dai avharirwa.

The negotiations should have been done at the Police station where the case was first reported. Now the NPA is forcing the complainant to go back and negotiate, is that what he wanted? It’s not the duty of the NPA.

Kadoma Lawyer De-Registered Over Dishonorable Conduct

A Four member legal practitioners’ disciplinary tribunal, set up by the Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ), has recommended the deregistration of prominent Kadoma lawyer, Ignatius Murambasvina for unprofessional, dishonourable and unworthy conduct.

Murambasvina, a senior partner at Ignatius Murambasvina Legal Practitioners, was deregistered after the tribunal went through evidence presented before it during sittings held on June 11, July 9, 2021 and on January 25, 2023 when the judgment was passed.

The tribunal — chaired by Felistas Chatukuta, deputised by Joseph Musakwa with Davison Kanokanga and Sarah Moyo as members — ordered that Murambasvina’s name be removed from the register of legal practitioners, notaries and public conveyancers.

The LSZ, an association authorised to register lawyers and regulating their operations, and how law firms operate in Zimbabwe, confirmed Murambasvina’s deregistration.

The ruling, handed down on January 25, 2023 read in part: “He had been charged with contravening s 23 (1) (c) of the Legal Practitioners Act [ Chapter 27:07 ] as read with sections 70 E and 70 F of the LSZ regulations, 1982 (SI 314 of 1982) and s23 (2) (b) of the Act.”

It was established that Murambasvina, had been instructed by a client, Maraja Investments Private Limited, t/a Kurima Gold to collect various amounts totalling US$114 000 owed by some 33 debtors.

The ruling noted that despite having been paid a US$1 000 deposit towards his fees, Murambasvina failed to fully account to the client in respect of the collections he made from debtors.

On the second charge, the ruling stated: “As at the date of the letter of complaint, the respondent (Murambasvina) had not furnished Messrs Chitewe Law Practice or client with an account of the client’s portfolio despite numerous communications with the respondent both, telephonically and in writing.”

Murambasvina was also accused of blocking the law firm, Messrs Chitewe Law Practice, from taking over agency at the request of a client when complainants sought alternative legal representation.

The ruling notes that it was proved that on February 17, 2014, Messrs Chitewe Law Practice requested in writing that Murambasvina renounce agency to enable the firm to carry out the client’s instructions.

Murambasvina was also accused of showing “no remorse and was not a fit and proper person to continue practicing law”.

The tribunal concluded that Murambasvina’s conduct had tarnished the integrity of the legal profession and ordered him to pay the expenses incurred by the applicant.

Armed Robber Beaten To Death

Two armed robbery suspects who thought they had hit the jackpot when they shot and robbed an illegal forex dealer of US$26,000 cash in Beitbridge were cornered and bashed by a mob leading to the death of one of the suspects and they left the loot in the chaos.

In a statement weekend, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi identified the suspects as Mirikia Pirikisi alias Henrik Nyathi, 38, and Arnold Mhosva, 29, now deceased.

The incident happened Wednesday last week.

The drama, according to police, started when the forex dealer was lured to a Total Service Station along the Beitbridge-Bulawayo highway through a phone call by one Leonard Huni.

Huni, who has not yet been arrested, claimed during the call he intended to exchange an equivalent of ZAR100,000 cash into US dollars.

The unsuspecting dealer was shot on the leg with a pistol before being robbed of US$26,000 and his Honda Fit vehicle.

When police swiftly reacted to the incident after being phoned by the complainant, they found the suspects surrounded by the mob.

“It was established the suspects were involved in a road traffic accident with the stolen vehicle before being apprehended and attacked with stones, logs, fists and feet by members of the public who went on to steal the complainant’s money during the commotion,” Nyathi said.

“The suspects sustained head injuries and were referred to Beitbridge District Hospital where Arnold Mhosva died upon admission.”

Nyathi said the arrest led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, an MC 1911 pistol with an empty magazine, a pistol with five 9mm rounds of ammunition, an empty magazine and a 9mm spent cartridge.

The police spokesperson said further investigations revealed that Pirikisi was being sought in connection with escaping from Chikurubi Prison in November 2022, where he was serving six years for a case of robbery committed in Glen Norah, Harare in 2018.

“He was also being linked to a robbery case which occurred in Beitbridge in December 2017, in which an illegal forex dealer was robbed of ZAR 35 000, 900 Euros and US$500 cash.

“He is implicated in another robbery case which occurred in November 2022 in Highlands, Harare where cash and clothes were stolen.”

Police said they have since arrested one Jeremiah Hwati who was part of the mob that stole the dealer’s money.

Hwati implicated Kheda and Langton.

Police are keen to arrest other suspects who include Leonard Huni.

Man Caught B*nking Married Woman

A HOPLEY man was detained for about 18 hours, from 7pm on Wednesday to yesterday afternoon, after he was bust slǝǝping with a mɑrriǝd woman in her matrim0nial home.

Paul Mujongoti, 28, a mechanic based in Highfield, was caught sleeping with George Chayambuka’s wife, Rachel Tapuwa, 23, following a tip-off.

The 34-year-old George and his neighbours detained Paul, while awaiting the arrival of Rachel’s parents to witness her shenanigans.

George, a gold panner based in Shamva, had been home for five days and pretended to have returned to work.

Rachel then invited Paul into her matrim0nial bedr00m, where the two were caught and given a thorough beating.

Paul told H-Metro that he had been dat!ng Rachel for the past two weeks, unaware that she was mɑrriǝd.

“Rachel lied to me that she had separated from her husband, and that is why I went into her bedr00m.

“We have been dat!ng for the past two weeks and I never saw her husband.

“I came at around 3pm on Wednesday and her husband came around 7pm.

“Haaaa vandirova husiku wese, pamwe pacho tikanzi rovanai pachenyu.

“I was thoroughly assaulted,” said Paul.

Rachel told H-Metro that she’d lost affection for George and it had been long since they were last int!mate.

“I decided to chǝat on my husband because he was no longer giving me time with him.

“He was here for the past five days, and we never engaged in ƨǝx, and that is why I invited Paul soon after he left home for Shamva.

“I do not know why he returned and found us in bed.

“My two children aged 6 and 3 are with my parents in the village since he was failing to raise school fees as well as food to support us.

“I was forced to pack some of my belongings and I am now going to stay with a relative in Epworth.

“I will look for a job and take my children later,” said Rachel.

Some of Rachel’s neighbours spent the better part of the night at her house until her relatives came.

The two were released after a closed-door meeting was conducted by George and Rachel’s parents.

Paul’s wife, only identified as Mai Lisa, came armed with stones threatening to attack him.

She was restrained from attacking Paul by some of the residents.

George refused to entertain H-Metro.

Rescue For 10 Month Old Zim Boy Held In SA Over Hospital Bill

“…If there is someone who knows the mother let me know on 0714449712, said a Mr Chimusoro (first name not given)…”

A call out has been made to rescue a 10-month-old Zimbabwean boy held in South Africa over an unsettled bill of more than R7 000.

The lad underwent a neck lump operation at the Louis Trichardt Memorial Hospital where he was admitted on February 7 this year.

The operation was performed on February 9, and he was supposed to be discharged the next day.

The boy’s mother, Yvonne Moyo from Tshikota, was then requested to pay R7 640. She said that she was told that, if she failed to pay the amount, the hospital management would not allow her to go home.

Moyo said that she was very grateful for the surgery that now enabled her child to live like other normal children, but that she did not have that kind of money as she was unemployed.

She felt certain that she was being discriminated against because she is Zimbabwean, and said that if she had been a local, they would have allowed her to go home immediately.

“My life has been turned into a nightmare. I have not had a moment of peace since I was told to pay the money. I need urgent assistance and plead with a Good Samaritan to come to my rescue, so I can pay the hospital bill. My family depend on piece jobs and the money is too little to cover medical needs as well,” she said.

When Limpopo Mirror contacted the spokesperson for the Department of Health, Thilivhali Muavha, for comment, he said if the local people don’t have money, “we make payment arrangements.” “Foreigners, however, must pay the full amount after assistance. In Moyo’s case, she signed an agreement with the hospital to pay R1 000 cash and the balance in instalments.”

Last year, Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba confronted a Zimbabwean patient at a Bela-Bela hospital telling her that South Africa does not have the budget to accommodate foreign nationals.

The matter triggered varying responses with medical practitioners saying “discrimination” against foreign patients was unethical and a violation of their code of conduct.

Some, however, defended the MEC saying the Zimbabwean government must offer health care services to its people or pay South Africa for such services.

What Are Severe Mental Disorders?

Social problems:

pre-existing: e.g. poverty and discrimination of marginalized groups;
emergency-induced: e.g. family separation, lack of safety, loss of livelihoods, disrupted social networks, and low trust and resources; and
humanitarian response-induced: e.g. overcrowding, lack of privacy, and undermining of community or traditional support.
Mental health problems:

pre-existing: e.g. mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia or harmful use of alcohol;
emergency-induced: e.g. grief, acute stress reactions, harmful use of alcohol and drugs, and depression and anxiety, including post-traumatic stress disorder; and
humanitarian response-induced: e.g. anxiety due to a lack of information about food distribution or about how to obtain basic services.

Mechanic Caught Red-handed With Married Woman

Mob Kills Armed Robber

AKA Hitmen Get ZAR250 000

By- A taxi boss has revealed that the KZN hitmen who gunned down rapper AKA were probably paid around R250 000.

TimesLIVE conducted an in-depth interview with a taxi owner from KwaZulu-Natal who is intimately familiar with the hitmen industry. In iSiZulu, assassins are known as izinkabi.

According to the investigation, hitmen charge as little as R10,000 for an ordinary person without a bodyguard and as much as R500,000 or a million rands for more dangerous people.

South African rapper AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February, along with his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. AKA was in Durban to perform at his birthday party.

The taxi boss revealed that three people most likely executed the AKA hit:

“He was a popular musician who was always with people. You need someone to drive the getaway car. You need someone who will be where AKA is, giving you details about what he is doing. Then you need the hitman to pull the trigger.

“The more dangerous you are, the more costly the services. It can go all the way to R500,000 or even a million, depending on how dangerous the person is. Some assassinations are so complex they can take six months to execute. If you want to kill someone who has a lot of bodyguards, that hit cannot be done in just a few weeks.”

The hired killers need to get as much knowledge about their target as possible to lower the risk of getting killed, he told TimesLIVE.

The taxi boss added that the people who eliminated AKA and Tibz are experienced professionals because they only killed two people in a group of many.

He reiterated that the AKA assassins are likely known in KZN because the industry operates as a network. The network is ever-growing as young men are trained and hired in taxi wars, political rivalries, and even in dubious business deals, TimesLIVE reported.

Research by the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime (GI-TOC) revealed that KZN has the most assassinations in South Africa, standing at 38%.

AKA is the third musician to be taken out since November 2022, after Oupa John Sefoka, known as DJ Sumbody and “President of Barcadi” Itumeleng “Vusi Ma R5” Mosoeu, who was shot dead last month.

Zim Man Survives Limpopo Horror Crash

By- A Zimbabwean man who is one of the survivors of the Limpopo bus crash that claimed at least 21 lives and left more than 60 people injured has described the accident as the “worst event” he has seen in his 59 years of life.

Jacob Sibanda said it was God’s choice to keep him alive or take his life together with the 21 others.

The bus collided head-on with a cash-in-transit van that was allegedly trying to overtake another vehicle on the N1 outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo.

The bus rolled off a bridge and into a river during the collision outside the Hendrik Verwoerd tunnel heading towards Musina on Monday evening.

New Zimbabwe cites law enforcement officials as saying the bus was ferrying passengers from Louis Trichardt to nearby villages including Nzhelele, Tshikombani and Siloam.

The Zimbabwean national told Pretoria News yesterday that he was trying to get hold of his wife in Zimbabwe to inform her that he had survived the Limpopo bus crash.

Sibanda lives in Louis Trichardt and was going to meet his wife to hand over groceries for their children in Zimbabwe.

I cannot remember what happened. I normally take the food to Beit Bridge where I meet my wife. But this time it was decided that she take a bus to Siloam so we could exchange parcels here because I needed to be at work in the evening.

This must have been the worst moment of my life. It was horrific because my eyes were wide open, but I don’t remember a thing. There was a loud bang and the next thing I remember I was in water and being carried by people.

I don’t know how I ended up in the water. I truly thought I was dead. I’m very happy to be alive because it was God’s will.

Sibanda, a self-employed merchant in Louis Trichardt, was among the few who sustained mild injuries. Others are still in critical condition in Siloam and Elim hospitals.

Paramedics and rescue personnel were able to retrieve 19 bodies from the crash.

Two other people died in hospital while the search for others in the nearby rivers continues as some were swept away.

Police Open Case Against Mwonzora

A docket has been opened against MDC leader Douglas Mwonzora over issuing death threats to a party employee.

The development comes as dejected, unpaid employees marched over yo his house to demand their owings.

The docket says Mwonzora was reported by a Mr Mutandwa Machera on Monday following the death threats.

It was recorded at Harare Central under reference number IR 021195.

Machera says Mwonzora phoned him on Sunday, threatening to shoot him after he (Machera) demanded US$9 600, which are his outstanding wages.

On 15 February at 15.40 hours, Douglas Mwonzora called me on my phone, threatening to kill me,” he says.

He continues adding

He (Mwonzora) said verbatim, ‘Mutandwa Machera and Kudzanayi Mashumba, I will shoot you if you come to my house.

This was after the employee had vowed to confront the MDC leader at his Harare home to stage a demonstration over his dues.

Mnangagwa Rubbishes UN, Vows To Criminalise NGOs

By- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has rubbished the United Nations for advising him to ignore the Private Voluntary Organisation Bill (PVO).

The Bill criminalises the operations of NGOs.

It has already passed Parliament and now awaits Mnangagwa’sMnangagwa’s signature for it to become law.

Ever since the proposed amendments passed through both houses of the National Assembly, there has been increased advocacy from some civic bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for the President to ignore the Bill.
However, writing in his weekly column in The Sunday Mail, President Mnangagwa said he will “”sign it into law once it reaches my desk””.
“”The Private Voluntary Organisation Bill, PVO Bill, has now passed the various stages of the legislative process. It is now being cleaned up for my assent. I will sign it into law once it reaches my desk,”” he said.
“”Thereafter, Zimbabwe will enter a new era of genuine philanthropic and advocacy work, unsullied by ulterior political or financial motives. This has been our goal as Government in drafting such a law. To protect our society, specifically the needy and the vulnerable against the greed, wiles and subterfuges of the crooked, found both here at home and abroad.””
He said bona fide organisations “”have nothing to fear””, as they could continue their work and vocation by serving the needy and poor.
Several meetings between Government and church organisations were held to allay their fears and misgivings.
“”Our churches have been in the forefront of doing humanitarian work. This Godly role must be nurtured, furthered and protected. To that end, governance structures envisaged by the new law for the sector will incorporate churches so they bring their honest, beneficent influence to bear on all actors,”” he said.
One of the reasons for crafting the law, President Mnangagwa added, was “”to protect and defend our sovereignty from foreign interests””, who were increasingly using NGOs “”to infiltrate and destabilise us”” under the guise of helping the less privileged.
“”It is regrettable that a sector meant to do good for the weak and vulnerable has over the years got infiltrated and weaponised against our nation and our people, including the very poor in whose name and for whose benefit the sector arose to serve in the first place,”” he said.
“”Any responsible Government would not stand idly by as this happened. Corrective action had to be taken to cure such mischief. It has since been taken through this enabling legislation, which now empowers Government to protect the weak and vulnerable, while fortifying our sovereignty against insidious encroachment by these hostile forces.””
Some NGOs were also reportedly wilfully departing from their founding mandates, while others were abusing resources donated to assist the poor for self-enrichment.
There were equally serious concerns that there were organisations that were being used for money laundering, thus presenting both a threat to national security and breaching international law.
The new law, therefore, is expected to cure such delinquencies through ensuring transparency and accountability.
“”Our dollarised economy did not help matters. Because this sector had become veritable refuge for the deviant and wayward, and for actors with sinister motives, our country which is relatively small both by territorial size and by population, acquired and assumed the dubious honour of having one of the largest number of NGOs. Yet little showed on the ground by way of real humanitarian work,”” said the President.
Increased presence and activities of foreign funded NGOs, especially during times when some Western countries were hostile with Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa also said, betrayed their ulterior motive to work against the Government.
“”Bilaterally and multilaterally, the concerned nations would shun normal channels of government-to-government relations and interaction, preferring instead to work with and through particularly selected NGOs, which tried to become substitutes for the Zimbabwe Government. Why would foreign sovereigns seek to relate to another sovereign State through NGOs?””
Foreigners, he added, should not interfere is the country’scountry’s domestic affairs.
“”Foreigners must keep out, as we realise and fulfil our sovereignty through the laws we make for ourselves. On that score, no amount of foreign noises will stop the passing of the PVO law which, in any case, has gone through our Parliament comprising all the elected parties and representatives of our country,”” said the President.
“”We do not enjoy democratic space or any of our freedoms through foreign NGOs; we enjoy them every day in the very society we have founded and built through our own blood and struggles. This must sink in the minds of all those who solicitously involve themselves unduly in our legislative processes. Let me repeat: once the Bill is cleaned and send to my Office, I will sign it into law. Speedily, too!””

Bev Quits

By- Dancer and singer Beverly Sibanda said she had quitted controversy because she was now a grown-up.

Speaking to a local tabloid after her performance at Jejeje Sports Club in Kuwadzana 2 last Thursday, the Sexy Angels’ boss said she was only doing it for her son.
“My son Kudzie is now in Form 2, which means I now need to act as a responsible parent. I have quit drama and controversy, which used to define me. I have realised that I am not getting younger,” she said.
The dancer, who lost her baby dad in December last year, said raising her son remains a top priority.
“By the way, my baby dad passed away last year and it means that I need to work hard and ensure that I give my son a better life.
“I don’t want to be remembered as an irresponsible parent when I still have the energy to work.”
She urged other single mothers to remain focused.
“Being a single mother is not a curse, but a situation that we have found ourselves in. This situation should never deter us from working hard for our families,” she said.
Bev, who was billed to share the stage with Slizer in Botswana last weekend, said she was deliberately keeping a low profile.
“When you start making money, you will realise that there is no need to make unnecessary noise.
“Elders will tell you that silence is golden and I am simply trying to behave as such.
