South Africa Moving To Shut Out Zim Migrants

South Africa’s Home Affairs minister Aaron Motsoaledi has ordered officials to revoke the cross border licence of a Zimbabwean bus company found carrying undocumented immigrants.

Motsoaledi was at Beitbridge on Easter Monday to assess the illegal immigration crisis at the end of the holiday period.

He reacted angrily when a Rimbi Travel and Tours bus was intercepted allegedly carrying illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe.

“I’m irritated because the owners of that bus think we’re clowns in South Africa. They don’t obey any law whatsoever, they were given a cross border licence by the authorities but they are misusing it,” Motsoaledi fumed.

“I’m irritated because very recently they were fined R420,000 for ferrying illegal people in South Africa and that’s the law. According to the law, they should be paying R15,000 per person but they never paid, and I’m made to understand they are allowed (on the road) yet they never paid.

“What’s worse is that the driver doesn’t have a passport. There’s no way in the world a bus driver would be allowed to cross a border without a passport.

“I’ve ordered him to be arrested because he is a habitual law breaker. That’s undermining a country, that time is over and something serious is going to happen.”

Motsoaledi claimed “the biggest problem in South Africa is people crossing the border illegally.”

Hundreds of people were arrested trying to enter South Africa illegally during the Easter break, the minister said.

Motsoaledi witnessed the burning of tyres which were seized by South African border officials as they were being transported to Zimbabwe.

“It’s not only the people, there are tyres burnt by a joint operation of immigration officials, the police and the army, because they are being smuggled into Zimbabwe,” he revealed.

“It’s not like we don’t want people to cross the border with tyres, legally they should, but the Zimbabwe government doesn’t want them to buy from South Africa but locally.”

The border management authority established six months ago had made headway in combating illegal activities at the border, he claimed.

“From Monday, April 11, to Monday the 18th of April, more than 700 people have been arrested,” the minister said.

“Dudula Empowers Gangsters”

By Ndaba Nhuku- I understand the long raised concerns by South Africans with regards to uncontrolled immigration, and inevitably fighting over resources in the country.

As in most countries, when government can not meet the needs of its local populace, politicians quickly whispers that its because of too many immigrants. Government incompetence and inefficiency and corruption are blamed on immigrants.

We have seen it globally, all over Africa, Europe, US and UK. Brexit was so toxic it was all about immigrants. South Africa is no exception and to worsen it, it is unable to control its borders.

Its a huge country surrounded by poorer nations who for decades have some of their populations especially Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, work in its mining and agricultural and construction industries.

As political and economic situations deteriorated in SADC and beyond, it was inevitable thst most people from as far as Nigeria, Somalia, DRC, Ghana etc also headed for the African economic giant.

Under Nelson Mandela, it became Rainbow democracy, the envy of many corrupt and deteriorating African States. SA failed to manage the migration. Corruption in its Hone Affairs and Border points worsened the situation.

For as little as a R100 bribe, anyone could become a citizen, even get fake IDS, or enter the country. This is what happens when civil servants in critical departments are underpaid. Consequently foreigners numbers increased with worsening political and economic situations in neighbouring countries.

The SA government, coupled by high ranking officials corruption snd incompetence, was inevitably unable to meet the needs of its restless but ever aggressive population. Many South African politicians including their current president have made toxic speeches directed at foreigners as unwanted criminals making life harder for the govt snd local populations.

Foreigners counter argue thst they helped liberate South Africa and in the process damaged their national economies. Resources in terms of houses and unemployment became major sources of tension between locals and poor black foreigners.

The white and black elites are far detached and scot-free in their expensive gated leafy suburbs. Brutal xenophobic incidents targeted the black poor foreigners in high density areas where they live with poor black locals.

Necklacing which was introduced during the liberation era as a political tool to stop liberation betrayal; the burning of someone to death with a car tyre around their neck, was transfered to xenophobia.

Recently a Zimbabwean was burned alive till he died. This is after Dudula, a growing SA outfit of youngesters whose thrust is to ensure that all black foreigners leave SA, had found him without SA documentation they demanded.

Although roundly condemned by most notable SA and foreigners, this was a high profile incident for Dudula and it seems to motivate the outfit. The group had been up and down threatening foreigners and ensuring there is no peace.

The outfit has totally ignored all other races and only targeted fellow black people especially Zimbabweans yet most Chinese and Asians illegal immigrants. It has completely ignored the fact that billions are corruptly externalised by corporates and rich individuals yet focuses on waiters, vendors and small African businesses.

The outfits anger is typically what is witnessed globally; targeting the poorest and most vulnerable immigrants. Ironically, in SA this has the support of the white community who apartheid govt, black SA and neighbouring States fought against. Impact on SA

The group is allegedly supported and funded by silent white communities. Its also allegedly supported by high ranking ANC members who are against foreigners who for obvious reasons can not go publicly about it.

ANC support is dwindling and can worsen if it seems to be supporting or protecting foreigners. This is why no robust condemnation of Dudula has come from the liberation party. ANC is cared to lose the little support it still enjoys.

Dudula has inevitable eaten into a chunk of Malema supporters who detest foreigners. Inevitable, all foreigners are walking on egg shells knowing the government doesn’t want them, and they have a violent outfit to dodge daily. They are anxious and an anxious workforce is unproductive.

Foreigners provide a huge percentage of cheap SA labour. Their restlessness affects the economy. Xenophobic incidents and Dudula outfit conduct will no doubt affect investor confidence and expertise labour force.

Without any shroud of doubt, most educated Zimbabweans are in strategic positions within the economy of SA, in the banking, insurance, brewery, estate, educational, local government and construction industries. Their sudden departure as demanded by Dudula will destroy the SA economy.

The poor ones struggle in poor townships where Dudula is giving them sleepless nights. Flight of economy and workforce is unavoidable. Many skilled workers move to more welcoming countries where their skills are in demand.

Investors start externalising their funds fearing the impact of an unsettled socio-economic environment. Dudula activities will make some individuals leave SA and return to their countries. Dudula weakens SA security agencies and empowers gangsters.

A precedent has been set. ANC has historically outsourced its liberation activities to young people as was the case with “making SA ungovernable” during the liberation struggle. The adverse effects of that outsourcing are still seen in the uncontrollable behavout of school pupils in most SA schools.

Impact on fellow African States

Without any doubt, Duduala and xenophobia mar relations between SA and other Africans. So far Nigeria has had a strong voice urging the SA govt to stop xenophobia against Nigerian citizens. SA was one of the last few nations to gain independence through support front line States, SADC neighbouring countries.

They were hit harder and sabotaged by the then well equipped SA security forces. These States are appalled when they see their citizens burned alive. SA has no excuse and SADC actions’ collective silence is only temporarily not to upset the economic giant as they watch how it will resolve the issues.

However SA is equally blaming its neighbours like Zim and Mozambique for bad political and economic management that caused huge populations to relocate and resettle in SA. SA resources are suffocated. Diplomacy in the region is stsnding on egg shells.

Noone has guts to tell the other the truth. South Africa has failed to control its borders and now relies on gangsters to do immigration and police duties. Neighbouring countries are haply their restive populations are giving then breathing space whilst far away in SA. SA investments and citizens in other Africa will soon be under threat.

Last xenophobic incidents saw Nigerians threaten SA investments in Nigeria. That can be contagious and happen a over Africa. Other govts will keep a blind eye just like SA is doing now. SA is the largest trader for nearly all countries in the region; this can now be affected easily as interborder road networks and IT communication have improved significantly obl er the last few years.

Therefore the impact of Dudula can.never be undermined or minimised. Its a force to reckon with but needs to let the immigration and police fo their mandated roles. Outsourcing such sensitive issues to gangsters leads to chaos and can be fatal as we have recently seen with the brutal murder of Zimbabwean, Elvis Sibanda.

This affects investor confidence and causes the workforce to underperform. Dudula activities will deter some people who were thinking of trekking to SA; it’s no longer worthy it, economically and politically its dangerous as immigrants are not welcome at all. Dudula’ s hidden hands of support by the elite have extinguished the once envisaged borderless SADC.

On the other hand, SA remains a dreamland for the very poor who feel they have nothing to lose and will steal hunt for its long heralded treasures in the form of untamed employment or business opportunities.

Dudula may find itself fighting an unwinnable war at the risk of forcing the ANC to act against its funders and silent supporters.

ZBC Mocks Mwonzora

By-The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, ZBC has mocked MDC-T President, Douglas Mwonzora, who recently got votes in the March 26 local government elections by calling him the leader of the country’s biggest opposition political party.

In a tweet, Tuesday ZBC, pictured Mwonzora attending the country’s 42 Uhuru celebrations in Bulawayo Monday.

Tweeted ZBC: Leader of the biggest opposition party in Zimbabwe spotted next to Linda during the just ended Independence Day celebrations. A GNU is on the cards.

SA Arrests Hundreds Of Zimbabweans Crossing Limpopo

By- South African officials have arrested hundreds of undocumented foreign nationals from Zimbabwe and other SADC countries at the Beitbridge Border Post at Musina in Limpopo.

South Africa’s Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, was at the Beitbridge Border Post monitoring the situation. He said:

From the 11th of April until today, which is the whole week, more than 700 people, who were trying to cross illegally, have been arrested and sent back.
As you can see, we have deployed here at the border. But, by chance, there might be some people who escape and those who are caught at two roadblocks … there’s a roadblock just when you enter Musina and there’s a roadblock 30 kilometres outside Musina next to the Baobab plaza.
So, the two roadblocks will clean up whatever has, somehow by any chance, escaped here from the border.
Border Management Authority’s Commissioner, Mike Masiapato, said that there will ensure that the vandalised fence along the border with Zimbabwe is rehabilitated. Said Masiapato:
The issue of the fence is one of those critical issues that we’re actually going to look at.
One thing that I can confirm now is that all the infrastructure in the land borders particularly is going to be transferred from the Department of Public Works into Border Management Authority.
So, at that point, we’re going to start taking over this kind of responsibility in terms of maintaining all the infrastructure around and all of that.
So obviously, we are still going to be engaging with the National Treasury around financing-related issues.
And out of that in the longer term, we’ll be able to start rehabilitating the fence.
He said the department’s Border Management Authority will deploy 200 newly-appointed guards to the border between South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The guards will work together with the members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) on a 24-hour basis to stop illegal border crossings.

Malema Apologises To Mnangagwa For Zimbabweans Murdered By South Africans

By-The Economic Freedom Fighter EFF leader, Julius Malema, has apologised to Zimbabwe for the atrocities committed by South Africans on Zimbabweans living in that country.

Malema sent his apology through a congratulatory message on Zimbabwe’s attainment of its 42nd Independence this Monday, 18 April 2022.

In a statement, EFF also asked Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa to forgive South Africa and its people for violent attacks on foreigners in SA. The statement read:

The EFF joins the people of Africa and the world in celebrating the 42nd anniversary of the independence of Zimbabwe, from the yoke of British colonialism.

Cecil Rhodes’s 1889 expedition of Africa is characterized by genocide against African people, land grabs and subjugation of Africans to wars of land dispossession and resistance.

The white colonialists were so shameless and disrespectful that they renamed African land after themselves.

The atrocities of Cecil Rhodes are imprintable, but still, the government of South Africa finds no offence in keeping this brutal colonialist’ name in a South African institute of higher learning, the so-called Rhodes University.

Statues of brutal white settlers and amongst them Cecil Rhodes are still in public spaces of South Africa, at the behest of the ruling party and its enablers, white monopoly capital.

This independence anniversary comes at a time of heightened Afrophobia that resulted in a violent and merciless killing of a gardener, Elvis Nyathi, who was accused of stealing jobs, gardening deemed a job stolen.

On this day, we call upon the people of our sister country, Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa to forgive South Africa and its people for the misdemeanours and criminality of a few, misled by the lack of uBuntu, to hate Africans in Africa.

The EFF recalls with deep sense of shock the death of Ernesto Alfabeto Nhamuave who was beaten, stabbed and set alight in an informal settlement in 2015 for selling sweets in a street that deemed such as stealing of jobs and opportunities for South Africans. To date, no one has been arrested for this gruesome act of inhumanity.

Criminality knows no nationality, in fact, the real criminality is at the doorsteps of white settlers who invaded and grabbed land and mineral resources for themselves at the exclusion of Africans.

Afrophobic violence in the democratic South African timeline spans from 1994 and reached its peak in 2008 when 62 Africans from other parts of Africa including South Africans were massacred by South Africans.

The level of self-hate and inhumanity of senseless killing of other Africans by Africans must be condemned in its entirety and unequivocally, with the contempt it deserves.

To the people of our sister country Zimbabwe, on this day, we wish you well on the anniversary of the glorious triumph of the People’s War, Hondo, against white minority settlers.

Pamberi ne hondo, Pamberi ne chimurenga!

Elvis Nyathi Family Demands Justice

By- The family of Elvis Nyathi, the 43-year-old Zimbabwean who was brutally murdered by a xenophobic mob in Johannesburg’s Diepsloot in South Africa last week wants the perpetrators of the gruesome murder to be brought to justice.

Speaking at Nyathi’s funeral service held at the Brethren in Christ Church, New Lobengula on Saturday, his cousin, Mphathisi Ndlovu, said:
As the Nyathi and Ndlovu families, we are traumatised by the way Elvis died. We will try to move on but we will not forget.

No person deserves to die the way he was killed. We hope his killers would be punished.

He was a hard worker working for his family, he was a jovial person who loved peace and quiet.

Meanwhile, the Nyathi family expressed gratitude to all Zimbabweans who comforted them in their grief. Said Ndlovu:
We thank the whole of Zimbabwe for showing support, despite differences in the languages we speak, Zimbabweans showed us immense support.
They showed us that they can unite and speak one language. This is one of the occasions where I have witnessed Zimbabweans coming together for one cause. Our wish is may this unity last going forward.
At the border, we were welcomed by well-wishers who bought us food. Along the way, people were stopping us, passing their condolences.
This showed us that Elvis’ death touched the hearts of many.
We stopped in Esigodini for a small service and received donations from the people, stopped at NUST and here in Bulawayo, we saw your tremendous support.
This really touched us as a family. God will thank you on our behalf.
The late Elvis Nyathi Banajo Mbodazwe was born on 14 February 1979, at Brunapeg Hospital to parents Mfanyana Nyathi and Sipho Ndlovu.
He grew up at Tshatshe, Sewula in Kezi, and did his primary education at Sewula Primary School in Matabeleland South Province.

Nyathi’s family moved to Insuza and in 2006 he left for South Africa, where he was a gardener until his death.
In South Africa, he lived in Diesploot Extension One where he was beaten, stoned and set alight metres from his home.
Nyathi was currently building his own home in Ntabazinduna, Umguza District, Matabeleland North Province.
He leaves behind his wife Nomsa Tshuma and four children.

Possible Solutions

SADC and all African States reflect and deal with governance issues. Election results must be accepted and polotifal violence must be stopped. Each country must improve its economy to meets basic needs of contemporary society.

SADC must strive for being borderless.
States must nkt outsource even discreetly their duties to gangsters like Dudula and Border Gezi.
The masses must realise they are the ones of politicians, and their unity can make or destroy a govt.
SA must consider properly dealing with immigration issues and not be reactionary to placate voters.
African govts must be frank with each other and tell when things are bad; SA has been keeping Zanu in power by not telling it the truth.
The masses must not be abused for selfish gains by gangsters and politicians.

The UK based church couple has once again become the communiry talk following several reports suggesting all is not well between them.

Pastor Kasi was still to comment, when blogger Rose Mudiwa said the first 3 minutes of the below video are too clear things are not right. In the 9 minute clip, Kasi, though verbally wishing his wife, a happy birthday, is visually totally distracted in the entire duration of over 4500 frames. Throughout the period, the preacher’s eyes ‘are constantly bomdarding’ the whole premises where the two are shooting the below video at the Rainbow Towers Hotel. The visuals are traditionally indicative of a male individual who is trying to hide something.  Mudiwa, adding to other allegations made by online commentator and sociallite Evidence Chihera, wrote saying:

“Body language bho here guys? [IS EVERYTHING OKAY WITH THIS BODY LANGUAGE] I think the tension eased up in the 3rd minute.

“Musandi denhe guys I am a professional lifestyle news blogger I am naturally drawn to your videos and what you are doing with your hupenyu. Saka avoid such videos at all costs because it is my duty to inform the general public. Ndatenda hangu. ???,” she said.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON?

Latest On Durban Floods

ETHEKWINI, South Africa– Rescuers searched for dozens of people still missing in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province on Sunday after heavy rains in recent days triggered floods and mudslides that have killed more than 440 people.

The floods have left thousands homeless, knocked out power and water services and disrupted operations at one of Africa’s busiest ports, Durban.

A provincial economic official estimated the overall infrastructure damage at more than 10 billion rand ($684.6 million).

The province’s premier, Sihle Zikalala, said the death toll had risen to 443, with a further 63 people unaccounted for.

In some of the worst-affected areas, residents said they were terrified by the thought of more rain, which was forecast to fall on Sunday.

Some faced an agonising wait for news of missing loved ones.

“We haven’t lost hope. Although we are constantly worried as (the) days continue,” Sbongile Mjoka, a resident of Sunshine village in the eThekwini municipality whose 8-year-old nephew has been missing for days.

“We are traumatised by the sight of rain,” Mjoka, 47, told Reuters, adding that her home had been badly damaged.

In a nearby semi-rural area, three members of the Sibiya family were killed when the walls of the room where they slept collapsed and 4-year-old Bongeka Sibiya is still missing.

“Everything is a harsh reminder of what we lost, and not being able to find (Bongeka) is devastating because we can’t grieve or heal. At this stage we are left feeling empty,” Lethiwe Sibiya, 33, told Reuters.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s office said late on Saturday he had delayed a working visit to Saudi Arabia to focus on the disaster.

Ramaphosa will meet cabinet ministers to assess the response to the crisis.

KZN Premier Zikalala told a televised briefing that the floods were among the worst in his province’s recorded history.

“We need to summon our collective courage and turn this devastation into an opportunity to rebuild our province,” he said.

“The people of KwaZulu-Natal will rise from this mayhem.”

Sikhala “Exorcises” Mnangagwa Demons

Tinashe Sambiri|Hard-hitting Citizens’ Coalition For Change vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala has pointed out that he went to Emmanuel Makandiwa’s UFIC to remove evil spirits left by Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The tough-talking politician said his mission was to cleanse the territory that had been contaminated by Mr Mnangagwa.

“Yes I was given an unprecedented standing ovation when I ws introduced as one of their invited dignitaries 2day at UFIC.

UFIC is in my territory in Chitungwiza.

I accepted their invite bcz I also wanted to cleanse the demons and witchcraft left in our territory by Mnangagwa yesterday,” Hon Sikhala argued.

Mliswa Blasts Makandiwa

Tinashe Sambiri| Outspoken Norton MP Hon Temba Mliswa has challenged Emmanuel Makandiwa to stop abusing the pulpit to please politicians.

Makandiwa embraced Mr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga at his church during the weekend.

Makandiwa also praised Mr Mnangagwa and Chiwenga describing them as noble men.

Facts About Noncommunicable Diseases

WHO welcomes the establishment of a new Heads of State and Government Group to accelerate progress towards the SDG target for noncommunicable diseases ̶ a one-third reduction in “premature” deaths from diseases like diabetes, cancer, heart and lung disease and the promotion of mental health and well-being.

The decision was taken at the inaugural International Strategic Dialogue on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) and the Sustainable Development Goals, held today in Accra, Ghana, where a new Global Compact on NCDs was launched. The dialogue was co-hosted by WHO, together with the Governments of Ghana and Norway.

Heads of State highlighted the urgency of the NCD pandemic, which kills 7 out of 10 people globally from risk factors like tobacco, alcohol, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and air pollution.

NCDs are largely preventable and treatable, nearly 7 million lives could be saved for just US$ 0.84 per person per year from now until 2030. This investment would realize more than US$ 230 billion in economic and societal benefits and avert nearly 10 million heart attacks and strokes globally by 2030.

The Heads of States and Governments Group announced that it will gather countries championing the NCD agenda and will convene annually at the UN General Assembly. The first meeting is expected to take place in September 2022.

The NCD Compact will focus on five key areas of commitment:

saving, by 2030, the lives of 50 million people from dying prematurely of NCDs by implementing the most cost-effective measures to prevent and control NCDs;
protecting 1.7 billion people living with NCDs by ensuring that they have access to the medicines and care they need during humanitarian emergencies;
integrating NCDs within primary health care and universal health coverage;
comprehensive NCD surveillance and monitoring; and
meaningfully engaging 1.7 billion people living with NCDs and mental health conditions in policy-making and programming.
The economic, as well as the health, benefits of investing in NCDs was a clear theme at the Dialogue. Norway has been a frontrunner in investment in the fight against NCDs, investing internationally, becoming the first donor country to include NCDs in its international development strategy.

Mr Nana Addo Dankwa Afuko-Addo, President of Ghana, outlined the successes of Ghana in implementing tobacco demand-reduction measures and introducing guidelines for NCD management, but also highlighted the challenges for lower-income countries in accelerating action.

Statements from the meeting:

Mr Nana Addo Dankwa Afuko-Addo, President of Ghana:

“Tacking the phenomenon of NCDs requires leadership to provide visibility to NCD issues. I ask my Heads of State colleagues to join hands with me as we establish a Presidential Group (non-binding), and as we find solutions to NCDs with a roadmap of universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals. In our time, this will be our legacy”.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization:

“Apart from the lives they take, NCDs take a heavy toll on economies, cutting down people in their most productive years. Overcoming this challenge requires technical, financial, and above all, political commitment. I thank the Governments of Norway and Ghana for establishing the first Global Heads of State and Government Group on NCDs, and launching the Global NCD Compact 2020-2030.”

Mr Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway:

“Investing in stronger health systems, service delivery and the prevention of NCDs will make vulnerable populations more resilient to COVID-19 and future pandemics. This is also vital for promoting universal health coverage. NCD prevention, and access to treatment and medicine must be a core component in the efforts to enhance pandemic preparedness and response, and in building back better in the post-pandemic recovery.”

Dr Matshidiso Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa:

“Noncommunicable diseases account for nearly a third of deaths in Africa, where they not only pose a grave threat to health and well-being, but also blunt socioeconomic development. The commitment reached today marks a crucial step in speeding up the progress against these diseases and their risk factors as well as the suffering and deaths they cause.

BREAKING: Attempt To Abduct Mako Haruzivishe Thwarted By Alert Povo | WARNING DISTURBING FOOTAGE

By A Correspondent | One of the CCC’s most prolific activists Makomborero Haruzivishe briefly appeared on live video while being forcibly taken away by unknown assailants at around 9pm on Monday.

Mako, as he is fondly called, is heard in the video demanding that the men posing as Police officers should identify themselvesif they are real cops.

Towards the end of the footage, a male voice is heard demanding that his hands must be chopped, it is better than being handcuffed. As the video switches off, another voice is heard announcing saying “blood is now coming out,” just as Mako continues demanding for an explanation of what his crime is, especially “on independence day like this.”

Mako was however later saved by alert members of the public who intervened. He sustained a swollen and numb left hand.

SA Minister Blocks Zimbos From Entering South Africa

School Children Perish In ZCC Chipinge Bus Disaster

By-Tilbury Primary School in Chimanimani lost four of its pupils in the St Charles Lwanga High School bus accident that occurred along the Jopa-Skyline Road last week.

38 people died when the driver of a bus carrying 105 members of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) on their annual Easter pilgrimage in Bikita lost control of the vehicle before it careered into a deep ravine.

Three Tilbury Primary School pupils from the same class died in the accident, which also claimed another pupil from a different class.

The deceased pupils’ teacher, Hardwork Makamanzi, told NewZimbabwe.comthat the tragedy has psychologically and mentally affected the other children in the class. He said:

I lost three of my students, two girls and one boy, in the Chipinge accident. I am so hurt and devastated by the incident. It is not easy to lose your loved students in such a gruesome manner.

It will take a long time for the remaining students to come to terms with what happened to their classmates.

It will be very hard for the students to accept that someone who used to sit close to him or her is no more.

Surely, it will not be easy for me and the students when schools open for the second term.

As the death toll continues to rise, there are chances that more students from other surrounding schools in the area might also have been victims of the accident

Olinda Chapel Snatched My Husband And Squandered My Kids’ Money

By Showbiz Reporter | A UK based Zimbabwean businesswoman has spoken how she has been allegedly scammed by the self flaunting sociallite, Olinda Chapel.

In revelations verified by ZimEye with work colleagues and employees since 2017, Gaynor Fundira on Sunday spoke on video while complaining that her husband went off with Chapel, who was at the time just a carer, to squander her wealth during the years before Chapel announced her own care company. To add salt to injury, Olinda, would rename her shipping company Gain (from Gaynor” first name).

Mrs Fundira, who briefly spoke to ZimEye on Sunday, narrated her story as follows:

“Now Byron and I have been married since 2001, We separated in 2015. Around 2014-15. In 2015 he went and paid a divorce token and said that he wants divorce and I did not deny that. I said well, it happens in life. I said no problem. Byron then moved out, so that I go and live on my own. So basically that is the background of what I am about to talk about.

‘The story is now is that this is April 2022, and my divorce has not been finalised, the reason is Byron is refusing to divorce me; why?, I really don’t know. I’ve done everything that I can to try and divorce this man; I have gone to the court I’ve gone to his family to talk about this issue. I’ve even approached some of his friends, but I am not getting anywhere. What I am asking is for Byron, can you kindly, kindly give me my properties and my money, divorce me and let me go. Right now I am exposing you on this video as a scammer. You are scamming me of money, you have been doing it for the last few years, And the reason why you have been doing it I don’t know. You take my children’s money to spend with to spend with your women. Your women I am today going to call them else describing them as hures. The reason why I am describing them in this way is that they are spending my children’s money.

“So I’m going to talk about these women as well because they are part of this Cam with Byron. The 1st one I am going to talk about on this is Olinda.

“The reason why I am calling all these other women hures, is that they are spending my kids’ money with my husband. I’m going to talk about these women because they are part of this scam with Byron.

“The first one I’m going to talk about is Olinda, Olinda Chapel, who calls herself, rich auntie, mbinga, whatever, I don’t know. Olinda was the 1st to go away to Spain with Byron on a supposed business trip when Olinda was my employee.

“Olinda, you can sit on your page and say my tax bracket this and that, bul*****, you tell Tytan who came from Zimbabwe recently.

“You were my employee as I used to pay for your tax and NI, and you fell in love with Byron, and you travelled to Spain, both of you, massaging each others’ feet with oil and all the rubbish; you came to tell me when you came back from Spain.

“So you’re the first one. Secondly, there is another one who calls herself Blessing Sha, on Facebook,” she said as she continued naming other women, just as Mr Fundira was still to comment at the time of publishing.

Contacted for a comment, Olinda Chapel said she is sufffering harrassment, before putting the phone down. She later posted the below claims alleging that Gaynor Fundira has demons.

Malema Apologises To Mnangagwa

Mudede Loses Car To Son, Gets Him Arrested

By- Former Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede has lost a car to his son and got him arrested.

Tawanda Mudede, recently appeared in court on allegations of stealing his father’s US$40 000 car.

Tawanda (25) was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda.

It is the State’s case that on 10 April this year, Mudede arrived at his house driving a grey Toyota Prado, with three police officers from ZRP Borrowdale.

He had gone to report his son and girlfriend Mitchel Masawi who had violated a peace order restricting them from entering his house.

Tawanda and Mitchel were promptly arrested for contempt of court.

It is alleged that on their way to the police station, the son drank Voltaren ointment that was on the back seat.

Mudede allegedly panicked and drove to Borrowdale Trauma Centre to seek assistance from the medical personnel.

On arrival, Mudede and two police officers disembarked, while his son remained in the car with one police officer.

When Mudede returned to his car with the medical staff, the police officer opened the door to allow them to administer medical treatment.

Tawanda allegedly closed and locked all doors and told them he didn’t have the keys but he later drove off.

He later called his sister and informed her that he had parked the car near State House where she recovered the vehicle and returned it to Mudede.

It is further alleged that Mudede’s cellphone and other personal documents, which were in the car, were missing.

Anesu Chirenje prosecuted.

Police Pounce On Chamisa Mutare Aides

By- Police in Mutare have arrested 14 CCC activists on Saturday and charged them with public nuisance.

The CCC members were arrested after conducting rallies to garner support for the party’s candidates contesting for two wards ahead of by-elections set for 7 May.

The CCC candidates, Sekai Mukodza (Ward 16) of Dangamvura-Chikanga constituency and former Mayor, Blessing Tandi (Ward 14) of Mutasa south constituency were recalled by MDC-T.

Those arrested are Chipo Chabvaneyi, Memory Kujeke, Jestina Changorora, Dadirai Wachi, Lina Makore, Gladys Chando, Conilia Mandiringa, Tsamwai Bonyongwe, Natalie Tsaukai, Melania Mpoga, Rosemary Muradzikwa, Elizabeth Sithole, Jeffery Nyamana and Zanele Sibanda.

However, Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson in Manicaland Province, Inspector Nobert Muzondo, told NewZimbabwe.com that he was not aware of the arrests. He said:

I have not been informed about such arrests. Where did you get such information? I am yet to find out if it’s true.

It might be an incident whereby some people are arrested, and it is then politicised, but I am not yet appraised at the moment, and I do not have facts.

Meanwhile, CCC Manicaland spokesperson David Panganayi confirmed the arrests to NewZimbabwe.com on Sunday.

Panganayi said the 14 were detained by police on 16 March before lawyers secured their release on Sunday, around midday.

He said they were made to pay fines pegged at ZW$2 000 each for violating the Criminal Law Codification Act. Said Panganayi:

All of our 14 members who were arrested in Chikanga phase two, have been released today (Sunday) at 12 am after paying fines.

They were eventually charged with public nuisance as promulgated in section 46 as read with subsection (v) of the criminal codification act. As we speak fines have already been paid.

Initially, the police wanted to charge them for contravening some sections of MOPA which govern restrictions on gatherings.

They later on decided to charge them for engaging in a procession without police clearance since the former charge was strong enough to go through the courts.

Public nuisance as a charge is still not good enough because they must demonstrate what sort of nuisance they are referring to.

They just want to derail our campaign ahead of by-elections because the door to door campaigns do not disturb residents’ business.

The playing field continues to be uneven and the cry for reforms can’t be much louder now.

Players Exchange Blows During D1 Tie

A Division One cup game between Simba Bhora and Chegutu Pirates at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva on Saturday was marred by violent scenes when players from both sides were engaged in a fist-fight.

The incident occurred during the first half after Pirates player Luis Milanzi received a booking following a crude challenge on an opponent. The visitors protested the card and this led Milanzi and his teammates to beat up Simba Bhora’s Constantine Chinhapi.

Both Milinzi and Chinhapi were expelled for exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct.

Meanwhile, Simba Bhora progressed to the semifinals of the Northern Region Division One cup tournament after winning the match 4-0.

Former Dynamos star Barnabas Mushunje opened the scoring early in the game before leading scorer Tinashe Bhalakasi doubled the lead moments later in the half.

Bhalakasi completed bis brace from the spot in the second period with Ghanaian Micheal Debrah sealing the victory later on.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Stop Abusing Pulpit, Mliswa Challenges Makandiwa

Tinashe Sambiri| Outspoken Norton MP Hon Temba Mliswa has challenged Emmanuel Makandiwa to stop abusing the pulpit to please politicians.

Makandiwa embraced Mr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga at his church during the weekend.

Makandiwa also praised Mr Mnangagwa and Chiwenga describing them as noble men.

Below is Mliswa’s full thread:

Thus a correction of a church leader becomes an attack against the church& the foundation of their scriptural beliefs. The believers can’t distinguish the leader from the gospel! It’s tragic but the leaders want it that way because they are protected from critical questions!

The lack of capacity for critical introspection within these Pentecostals has also damaged their ability to be solid as institutions& outgrow the person of their founders. Many remain extensions of their founding leaders who are themselves mere mortals prone to fall.

Pentecostal churches are generally bigoted as institutions& view themselves as the sole proprietors of the gospel of salvation. To them, everything& everyone else is lost. It’s a dangerous posture which has created demi-gods who are not foundationed on truth& social justice.

The equivalent of some of these actions are found in the Bible too, with Balaam going out to prophesy against God’s people because he had been paid. Ultimately it will fail

Makandiwa should just join ZANU PF& stop this elevated posturing, feinting more enlightenment than everyone else. He is a Pastor for God’s sake and should operate in a smarter way. I’m Independent but openly state the only party I know is ZANU PF. He should do the same!

I believe there is a direct connection between the seeming political passivity of Zimbabweans and our being a Christian nation.

The spiritual side has been used to strangle the political consciousness of the masses through the agency of people like Makandiwa.

The Pastor has a venerated position in people’s hearts and minds and should not abuse that position to feed people his partisan political orientations. He should stand for truth as a principle and speak out against any injustice.

Admire Kasi Pressurised To Explain Unusual Body Language With Young Wife

By Showbiz Reporter | The Pentecostal preacher, Admire Kasingakore has been pressurised to explain his unusual body language with his young wife, Ivy.
Body language bho here guys?, asks Rose Mudiwa (full video at the bottom of article)
Mudiwa, adding to other allegations made by online commentator and sociallite Evidence Chihera, wrote saying: “Body language bho here guys? [IS EVERYTHING OKAY WITH THIS BODY LANGUAGE] I think the tension eased up in the 3rd minute. “Musandi denhe guys I am a professional lifestyle news blogger I am naturally drawn to your videos and what you are doing with your hupenyu. Saka avoid such videos at all costs because it is my duty to inform the general public. Ndatenda hangu. ???,” she said. VIDEO LOADING BELOW…
The development follows a report by several people who include the controversial sociallite Evidence Chihera who recently net the couple in Harare. Chihera, commenting, asked the masses to watch Ivy’s body language when she does live videos because it suggests something seriously sinister against her well being. By Boris Muguti | When the brave sons and daughters of Zimbabwe took a heroic stance, to leave their families and homes, go into the bush, carry arms and fight the Smith regime, they had suffered a lot under the repressive Smith regime. They had to fight and reclaim their country. They had to reclaim their land so to be in charge once again. They fought for the establishment of an egalitarian society, they fought for equality. They wanted to see a Zimbabwe which would produce jobs for young people, a Zimbabwe which allows them to be recognised as human beings not animals; Thus they fought for the respect of their rights. They wanted to see a Zimbabwe which would allow all Zimbabweans to live better lives, send their children to decent schools, live in better houses and most importantly be allowed to own land in this country. That is what Chitepo joined the liberation struggle, that is why Josiah Magama Tongogara joined the struggle, that is why Joshua Nkomo, Enos Nkala, Dumiso Dabengwa and many other vibrant fighters chose a tough way of challenging injustice. However the government of the day has deviated from those principles and causes. They twisted the trajectory, they furnished themselves with beautiful houses, shared farms and gave positions to each other and forgot about the masses. They forgot thqt the masses also need a slice from the national cake.

The masses still have the same struggle, they want to live decent lives, they want to be recognised as human beings thus they want their rights to be respected. When the masses remind the government about their needs the government turns against them, when workers demand decent salaries the government responds to them through violence. When young people remind them that they need jobs they are persecuted and prosecuted for that.

When parents remind them that they need food on their tables, they are labled agents of regime change. How then did they change like a chameleon, these people who are in power used to understand the struggles of the masses, the struggles of the generality of our people. Many of them grew up in poor families, some in rural areas in the village. They really know how it feels to live without having proper meals. They know how it feels to live in broken societies. They actually know how it feels to receive slave wages from the employer and how it feels to be segregated and oppressed in your motherland but it is shocking to realise that they no longer care about all those things.

They just care about being in power, they care about developing their lives and securing a future for their children’s children and not about securing the future of generations to come. They care about providing jobs for their loves ones and not securing jobs for all citizens who should be in the working class. Comrades this is the highest level of betryal, the comrades have forgotten to fulfil the mission.

They failed to complete the task but the reality is the task should be completed. Yes the comrades have failed to deliver as planned and expected but someone somewhere has to get the job done. Fellow Zimbabweans, fellow young people let’s rise up and rebuke, reject and challenge barbarism, injustice and incompetence.

ZANU-PF has failed. It is a bunch of betrayers! It did not just betray the masses but it also betrayed a number of genuine organic freedom fighters. ZANU-PF betrayed Josiah Tongogara, Herbert Chitepo, Joshua Nkomo, Dumiso Dabengwa, Jason. Z Moyo and many other fighters who wished to see a better Zimbabwe. Betrayers, Sellouts!

The Murdered Zimbabwean Farmer

Editor-
This year marks 22 years after Zimbabwe White farmer, Martin Olds’ brutal murder by war veterans. He was the first of 20 or so slain farmers. I dedicate this poem to him.

SLAIN FARM
A stroke of good luck
With the arrival warmth of a son,
Debt, starvation traded for gin and rose,
The frugal introspective tiller’s sun,
To the bleak past of loss in full bloom.

There under the Black leave
Of freedom and liberty to sow
And respect of law as a branch and leaf
Of the same tree loyalty passion
Flourishing on the banks of a sea,
Mother’s unmeaness to pass on
Fruit and wisdom to see,
Seeded he to reap gold.

The flame of good luck so odd
Flickered with tragic brevity for Martin Olds,
Of hatchet, machete poised upon him,
With chiming eloquency of a cathedral’s bell,
A soronous horse and dray murmuring a hymn
For martydom saint denied death-bail,
Through State clique’s apt commission
As angel death away whisked him in omission.

Callous thick brutal it messaged
As the dragon’s unbridled fiery tail,
Leading him with narcissistic massage;
Trading blood from lungs of laugh tales-
An equilibrium restoration to monster’s of war,
Who separate not pillar from wall,
Striking freshness panic to the spouse,
Her thorny avenue to widowhood!

ZAPU Refuses To Join Mnangagwa’s Independence Celebrations, Mourns Death Of Collective Dignity

ZAPU president Sibangilizwe Nkomo said the opposition party will not celebrate the country’s 42nd independence anniversary this Monday but will be in mourning “the death of our collective dignity”.

This year’s Independence Day celebrations will be held at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

It will be the first time that the event has been hosted by the country’s second-largest city since the attainment of independence in 1980.

In his independence message, Nkomo, who is also the son of the late nationalist and former vice president, Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo, said the party will be mourning the loss of lives before and after independence. Nkomo said:

ZAPU will be mourning than celebrating on Monday 18th of April 2022. We are mourning the women who die giving birth in our hospitals due to a lack of care and medicinal support. We are mourning the looting of our granite by the Chinese in Mutoko.

We are mourning the lives of compatriots murdered in neighbouring countries.

We are mourning the looting of our gold from Kwekwe and Gwanda.

We are mourning the endemic corruption, where the Anti-corruption agency has become corrupt itself.

Nkomo said ZAPU will be running a #iamceleblackit hashtag campaign on social media, to encourage Zimbabweans, not to celebrate independence.

He called upon every Zimbabwean to wear a black top, doek or armband as an act of mourning all heroes, living and the departed, who sacrificed their lives for nothing. He added:

Barely two years after this historic moment, the new regime embarked on an orgy of violence against our supporters and members, resulting in the loss of over 20 000 lives in a genocide known today as Gukurahundi.

I am 64 years old now, and together with millions of my compatriots, have, for more than four decades, been subjected to living with the painful reality that the dream of a prosperous Zimbabwe, as proclaimed on the 18th of April 1980, was not only deferred but hijacked and ruined by merciless individuals organized under a political party called ZANU PF.

Meanwhile, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has invited all opposition parties to attend this year’s celebrations, which will be held at Barbourfields stadium.

Tilbury Primary School Loses Four Pupils In Chipinge Horror Crash

By A Correspondent- Tilbury Primary School in Chimanimani lost four of its pupils in the St Charles Lwanga High School bus accident that occurred along the Jopa-Skyline Road last week.

The deceased pupils’ teacher, Hardwork Makamanzi, told NewZimbabwe.com that the tragedy has psychologically and mentally affected the other children in the class.

As the death toll continues to rise, there are chances that more students from other surrounding schools in the area might also have been victims of the accident.

Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa who was recently appointed to the board of directors of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recently became a victim of racism.

Taking to Twitter, Elizabeth revealed that she got kicked out of a restaurant because she is black. Elizabeth did not divulge more on where this incident happened.

Elizabeth Masiyiwa’s post prompted some tweeps to share their encounter with racism.

Her post also attracted mixed reactions on the TL as some tweeps pushed her to divulge more details on the incident and to name and shame the restaurant. Other tweeps on the other hand opined that she should have told the owner that her father is a billionaire and business mogul or better yet she should just buy the restaurant.

Julius Choto: Govt’s State Assisted Funeral for Elvis Nyathi

It’s a pleasure for Zimbabwe to celebrate its 42nd Independence Day. Live Up Zimbabwe live Up
As we celebrate this year’s Independence in agony we must also remember that we have surpassed the biblical long term of agonie, which is 40years. We are in the second 40year long term of the same sufferation under the same Authorities since 1980.

Independence is now worse than useless in Zimbabwe. It’s just a calendar holiday without meaning in the hearts of Citizens. Citizens have fled their country and spread all over the World looking for greener pastures or running away from their Monster Authorities and be refugees there. Today we cry foul over xenophobic attacks on our citizens abroad with some victims getting state assisted funeral treatment as we saw in the Elvis Nyathi case. The State must also assure the citizens of state assisted life.

After all Xenophobia and Zanuphobia are one and the same evil.

1;Xenophobia is war against foreigners. 2;Zanuphobia is war against political opponents within Zimbabwe’s borders.

Operation Dudula in Mzansi and Al-Shabab in Zimbabwe must be condemned and disbanded with the seriousness they deserve. Zanuphobia has got victims like Mboneni Ncube and Kelvin Tinashe Choto: innocent souls that did no wrong to Authorities. May their souls rest in peace.

The second 40year long term must be filled with joy and prosperity. Not zvekungoti rambai makashinga without progress.

Salute

Sulumani Delivers Epic Show

By Own Correspondent| Revellers at Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre were left clamoring for more from Sulumani Chimbetu on Friday.

The Dendera Kings band had a great day in office as fans were taken down the memory lane with yesteryear hits from the late Simon Chimbetu that include Mudzimai Wangu, Dai Ndakadzidza and Dzandipedza Mafuta.

The ZPCS brand ambassador also belted most of his hit tracks Alice Mbewe, Nyuchi Yanditendera and Phone Yangu.

But it was Nyuchi Yanditendera that sent fans into frenzy as Suluman mimicked the late Soul Jah Luv’s voice that one would think the Zimdancehall chanter had ‘resurrected’.

Then there was Knowledge Nkoma who strummed both the lead and rhythm guitar much to the amusement of veteran music producer Clive Mono Mukundu.

“This is magic, Knowle is doing big work there playing the lead and rhythm guitars at once is no mean task,” said Mono.

He also lauded bassist Moffat for his huge ‘stage presence’.

Then there was also the moment when BaGari from Utakataka express was handed the lead guitar and he stole the show.Fans could not resist the prowess exhibited by BaGari.

Speaking after the show, Carlton Muparutsa, Sulu’s manager was excited about the new fans they met.

“I am very excited that our debut show at this venue has gifted us with new fans and I am confident the next show will be a full house,” said Muparutsa.

The venue proprietor, Jasen Mphepo, was also delighted with hosting Sulu.

“Its our pleasure to have Sulu performing here and we want to make this joint popular for showgoers. ”

Most revellers have commended the ambiance here, “Mphepo confided in this reporter.

After Seeding US$300k Bentley To Uebert Angel, Harare Businessman’s Marriage Collapses

The businessman, who claimed to have seeded a US$300 000 Bentley Continental to Prophet Uebert Angel nine years ago, is the same man today being accused of allegedly abusing his lover Monica Gadu.

The businessman Ndabazinengi and his lover, Gadu, 30 have since fell out despite siring one child together.

Gadu claims she has been a victim of abuse, allegedly inflicted by Shava, who has allegedly been threatening to withdraw all the financial support, exposing the woman and her baby to the possibility of being thrown out of the house they are renting.

Recently, Gadu posted their photographs, and that of their one-year-old baby, into the inbox of Shava’s wife, Eurita.

She said she was protesting over unpaid rentals and lack of support and described Shava as abusive.

“It is better for me to suffer with my child than to continue living in silence while being physically and emotionally abused by Shava,” said Monica.

“I have approached the police several times about being assaulted, but the cases die because of threats that I would lose financial support.

“Ndofa nekurohwa nekuda mari here yandinopihwa nemuseredzero asi ini ndakabereka mwana naye?

“I have some photographs of my buttocks and face bruised and he warns me about taking the matter to law enforcement agencies, or anyone in authority, and threatens to kill me.

“For how long will I live and die silently for the sake of money and a marriage which he does not want to introduce to his legal wife?

“It is true that I posted some photographs and messages between me and him to his wife Eurita for her to understand my plight.”

She has since lodged another police report against Shava under RRB 5011895 at Rhodesville Police Station over the threats she received after H-Metro published their story last week.

“Shava sent threatening messages following the publication of his story and I decided to lodge a police report fearing for my life,” said Monica.

“He threatened to come and deal with me and return to South Africa where he would reside forever.“It is better for me to have peace of mind than to be emotionally and physically abused for the sake of being supported financially,” she said.

Shava denied harassing Gadu but conceded there were some challenges in their relationship.

“Ndewangu mukadzi wemusikanzwa uyo asi zvaarikutaura ndezvekunyepa nekuti ndakatobhadhara mari yerent ye mwedzi miviri,” said Shava.

“There are some issues behind her claim of lack of support which she does not want to tell.

“She has not been faithful and I never assaulted her as alleged, but she is hiding the real issues.

“I do not have one house in Harare, for her to struggle for accommodation, even her Greendale rented house is paid up.

“She is after fighting me because she sent some photographs of me with her and the child to my wife’s Facebook account, exposing me, and I do not know why she is doing this.”

However, it has since emerged that Shava is the same businessman who dragged Prophet Angel to court over a US$300 000 Bentley Continental he claimed to have seeded to the Spirit Embassy leader.

In June 2015, the case collapsed after High Court judge, Justice November Mtshiya, confirmed Prophet Angel’s sale of the vehicle to another local businessman, after dismissing Shava’s application, to repossess the vehicle, with costs.

Shava did not appear in court for the judgment.

He had claimed he donated the car to Angel after being promised his blessings with increase three-fold.

However, this did not happen, as promised.

“Whereupon, after reading documents filed of record and hearing counsel (Angel’s lawyer, Advocate Webster Chinamora), it is ordered that plaintiff (Shava) being in default, claim is dismissed with costs,” read the judge’s order.

In the court papers, Prophet Angel disputed that Shava was the owner of the vehicle, as he claimed.

“The Respondent (Shava) was never the owner of the motor vehicle. The motor vehicle was owned by one Anderson Tagara whose name appears on the registration book,” said Prophet Angel.

“Further, the motor vehicle was purchased from Anderson Tagara by Benjamin Mudzanire — the Applicant’s (Prophet Angel) brother and there is an agreement of sale to that effect.”

Johane Marange Boss Dies

By-Noah Taguta, the leader of Johane Marange Apostolic Church, has died.

Taguta died on Sunday afternoon and is believed to have been in his 90s.

The Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution Nokuthula Matsikenyere confirmed Taguta’s death.

 She said:

Chamisa Supporters To Yellowfy Independence Commemorations

By-Citizens Coalition for Change President Nelson Chamisa has encouraged his supporters to attend independence celebrations throughout the country.

In a statement, CCC national spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said the party reverences all who fought for the attainment of the country’s independence from white minority rule. Below is the statement in full:

THE LIBERATION PROMISE IS OUR GENERATIONAL MANDATE

On the 18th of April 2022, we celebrate 42 years of independence. We honour and commemorate this important day as we mark and look to the sacrifices made by our forebears who fought on our behalf for the liberation of our country.

The liberation struggle was anchored on the fight for freedom, dignity, the people’s sovereign will and self-determination.

Independence means freedom, the pursuit of happiness, national pride and national dignity.

We acknowledge that, although we attained our independence in 1980, we are yet to be fully free and fully independent.

This entails the holding of free and fair elections and the upholding of fundamental rights and freedoms of the citizens.

As a citizens’ movement, we acknowledge the effort and sacrifices of our liberation heroes, war veterans, war collaborators and citizens, living and departed, who contributed to the attainment of the liberation of our nation from colonial rule.

Whereas there are political differences, there is no debate about our honour, respect and acknowledgement of all national institutions, organs, events and programs.

Our loyalty to Zimbabwe and our loyalty to the country is absolute as a marker of the preservation of our history, legacy and identity as a people.

Independence Day belongs to us all as Zimbabwean citizens. For this reason, we encourage all citizens to participate in such important national processes and events without tainting them with partisan conduct.

We do so for our country and for our collective being as a people.

Accordingly, we assert that we are going to be represented at all key national events.

National events and state institutions are far greater than any political party or sectarian interests.

The liberation promise is our generational mandate.

Mnangagwa Announces: 42 Yrs Ago, Our Nation Found Our Freedom

“Happy Independence Day Zimbabwe!

“42 years ago, our nation found our freedom. Let us never forget the sacrifices our forefathers made in pursuit of a better Zimbabwe!

??????, ” Zimbabwe’s coup leader Emmerson Mnangagwa announced on Monday. DO YOU AGREE WITH HIM?

Confusion As Mthuli Announces 50% Bond Dollar Duty

There was confusion at the weekend when Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube announced a new duty on imported vehicles to be charged at half of it, 50% value in bond notes. The full state media brief is as follows:

Fifty percent of duty on car imports will now be paid in local currency, according to the new regulations, in a move expected to promote and support the strength of the Zimbabwe dollar.

In a Government Gazette published on Friday, Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube said half of import duty payable will now be paid in foreign currency and the balance in local currency at the prevailing official auction rate.

The Government departments, will however continue paying 100 percent duty in local currency, at the prevailing rates. Zimbabweans are huge importers of pre-owned cars and have spent several billions of US dollars on the vehicles over the past decade.

The new measures are in addition to others rolled out by the Government in February this year meant to encourage the wider use of the Zimbabwe dollar.

Among the measures introduced in February this year, miners are paying 50 percent of royalties in local currency while exporters are taxed 40 percent of export receipts in domestic currency.

Minister Ncube said the measures reflected the Government’s commitment to promote the wider use of the Zimbabwe dollar and to continuously strengthen the economy so as to build long-lasting macro-economic stability.

In June 2019, Zimbabwe removed the multiple currency regime introduced in 2009 after the value of the previous domestic currency was severely eroded due to devastating hyperinflation, which soared to a record 500 billion percent in 2008 according to the IMF.

But in March 2020, the Government allowed people with free funds to use their foreign currency to pay for goods and services, alongside domestic currency consisting of the electronic Real Time Gross Settlement dollar, bond notes and bond coins.

Economists say while the Government has been rolling out measures aimed at encouraging the use of local currency, a medium-to-long term road map, driven by improved local production and the elimination of distortions was critical.

“The strength of the local currency is derived from productivity capacity,” economist Professor Gift Mugano said. “Piecemeal approach is not sustainable.” We need to produce more and deal with distortions which are causing havoc on our currency.

“A well consulted plan centred on production is needed to achieve sustainable sanity.”

He said a medium to long roadmap towards complete dedollarisation should entail debt removal, the use of single currency to eliminate distortions, current account and surpluses. –Herald

Mangosi remanded the duo in custody to April 29 after advising them to apply for bail at the High Court.

George Manokore, for the prosecution, told the court that police got information that the two brothers were planning to commit armed robbery at 5 Overlaw Farm in Kadoma.

On April 14, police detectives got on the tail of the two men as they drove in a white Nissan Hardbody along Samora Machel Avenue. When they noticed they were being followed, Vengai allegedly drove at high speed on the Bulawayo highway leading to a high-speed chase.

They were arrested at a roadblock in Norton and a search of the vehicle turned up an AK47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition. Police also recovered a Tokarev pistol during a search of Tawanda’s home at 21 Retreat Farm in Waterfalls on April 15. He allegedly told police the gun which was hidden between a mattress and base of a bed belonged to Vengai.

Prosecutors say both men are not firearm licence holders.

Vengai and Tawanda are the sons of one of President Mnangagwa’s brothers. The “u” in their surname is a common misspelling of their family name by officials at the Civil Registry.

The Zimbabwe National Army – responding to a surge in armed robberies committed by soldiers – has publicly warned that those found guilty will receive “exemplary sentences.” Standard

Know Ovarian Cyst Symptoms

Health Talk

With Sandra Sadziwa

Ovarian cysts are solid or fluid-filled pockets in or on your ovary.

They’re common, especially in women who are pregnant or who haven’t gone through qmenopause yet. Most of the time, they’re painless and harmless.

You might get one every month as part of your menstrual cycle and never know it. They usually go away on their own without treatment.

A cyst becomes a problem when it doesn’t go away or gets bigger. It can become painful.

There’s also the possibility of cancer, but it’s rare. The chances go up as you get older.

Ovarian Cyst Symptoms

Most ovarian cysts are small and don’t cause any problems.

When there are symptoms, you might have pressure, bloating, swelling, or pain in one side of your lower belly.

This pain may be sharp or dull, and it can come and go.

Sudden, severe belly pain

Pain with fever and throwing up

Dizziness, weakness, or feeling faint

Fast breathing

These things could mean your cyst has caused the ovary to twist.

Ovarian Cyst Causes
Most cysts are “functional.”

They’re a part of your monthly cycle.

Types of Cysts Follicle cyst.

Your ovaries usually release one egg each month. It grows inside a tiny sac called a follicle.

When th HBe egg is ready, the follicle breaks open and releases it.

If the sac doesn’t open, it causes a follicle cyst. These often go away in 1 to 3 months.

Corpus luteum cyst.

Once the egg is released, the empty follicle usually shrinks and helps get ready for the next egg.

It becomes a cyst when it closes back up and fluid collects inside. It may go away in a few weeks. But it may bleed or cause pain as it grows.

Others are nonfunctional. In some women, their ovaries make a lot of small cysts.

This condition is called polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

It can make it hard to get pregnant. Other nonfunctional cysts may be caused by cancer.

Ovarian Cyst Risk Factors

Things that may make you more likely to get ovarian cysts include:

Hormonal problems. Taking the fertility drug to help you ovulate can increase your risk of cysts.

Pregnancy

The cyst that forms during ovulation may stay on your ovary after you get pregnant and throughout your pregnancy.

Endometriosis. Cells that usually line the inside of your uterus grow outside it.

These wayward cells can attach to your ovary and cause a cyst to grow.

A severe pelvic infection. If this spreads to your ovaries, it can cause cysts there.

A previous ovarian cyst. If you’ve had at least one ovarian cyst before, you’re more likely to get others

Ovarian Cyst Complications

Some women can have unusual complications with ovarian cysts. Your doctor might pick these up during a pelvic exam, so it’s important to get regular checkups.

Ovarian torsion. If cysts grow large, they can make the ovary move and twist.

This twisting (ovarian torsion) is very painful.
Rupture.

Cysts can break open, causing severe pain and bleeding, especially if the cysts are large. Vaginal sex and other activities can make a rupture more likely.

A ruptured cyst sometimes heals on its own, but often, it’s a medical emergency.
Infected ovarian cyst. An ovarian cyst can develop in response to a pelvic infection, forming an abscess. If the abscess bursts, dangerous bacteria can spread through your body.

Ovarian Cyst Treatment

Most cysts go away on their own. Your doctor may suggest watching and waiting for changes.

Your doctor can give you medicine for pain. They might also prescribe birth control pills.

The hormones in the pills won’t make the cysts go away, but they can help prevent new ones.

Some ovarian cysts need surgery. That includes those that are large, don’t go away, or cause symptoms.

You could also need surgery if you’re near menopause, because cysts are more likely to be cancerous.

Depending on your case, the surgeon may take just the cyst or the entire ovary.

There are different types of surgery:

Laparoscopy is for smaller cysts. The doctor makes a tiny cut above or below your bellybutton.

A small tool with a camera allows your doctor to see inside, and a different tool removes the cyst or ovary. You probably won’t have to stay in hi the hospital overnight.

Laparotomy is for cysts that may be cancerous. It is done with a bigger cut in the belly.

Don’t Expect Government To Create Jobs For You- Makandiwa

United Family International Church (UFIC) founder and leader Emmanuel Makandiwa said that Zimbabweans should not expect President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government to create jobs for them.

Addressing a church service in Chitungwiza on Saturday which was also attended by Mnangagwa, first lady Auxillia Mnangagwa, and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Makandiwa said the Government’s role is to create an environment for individuals to prosper. He said:

It is never the responsibility of the Government to create jobs for you. The creation of an environment is their responsibility so that you and I prosper and we have that opportunity in Zimbabwe.

Scores Injured As Fight For Control Of Church Gets Out Of Hand

A fight erupted at Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church headquarters in Wedza, Mashonaland East on Friday as the battle for the control of the sect rages on.

The sect has been embroiled in bitter wars following the death of leader and founder Thadeu Mugodhi in 2019.

In 2019, one Tonny Sigauke who claimed to be the rightful heir, according to the church constitution, dragged the late Mugodhi’s son Washington to court for clinging on to the throne.

Sigauke also filed another application stating that Aaron Munodawafa was the substantive bishop of the church with him as the deputy.

In September, 2021, High Court judge Justice Esther Muremba ruled Sigauke does not have authority to represent the church while Washington’s appointment was declared null and void.

Since then, the fight for the control of the church between Washington and Munodawafa has been raging.

On Friday, church members wielding, iron bars and stones clashed as they sought to take control of the shrine for the annual passover service.

Both camps were recently given access to the church buildings pending a court outcome on the legitimate leader of the shrine.

The spokesperson of Munodawafa camp, Reverend Mike Mukarati said the fight started after they were denied access to the church building to conduct morning prayers.

“We gathered together as a group and moved to enter the building.

“They hired hooligans, some with dreadlocks calling themselves security from Washington’s camp and denied us access.

“Suddenly, they started throwing stones, sharp objects, and logs into a crowded congregation injuring more than 20, some seriously.

“We retreated when we realised there were bound to be fatalities.

“Police arrived 30 minutes later and statements were taken and the injured were rushed to St Mary’s hospital in Wedza.”

Mugodhi and Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Simon Chazovachi were not available for comment yesterday.

A few months ago, violent clashes occurred at the same shrine during a gathering known as Synod resulting in malicious damage to property including the church building.

More than 15 congregants were arrested and charged with assault among other charges.

Washington had brought bouncers to block the Munodawafa faction, but they were overpowered by the congregants who went on a rampage destroying church property.

The bouncers had their hands tied and assaulted before police were called to quell the violence.

Must CCC Go Attend Independence And Endorse Mnangagwa As President?

Below are comments by former Harare mayor, Mayor Ben Manyenyeni over tomorrow’s Emmerson Mnangagwa run Independence celebrations | We are reading the story that opposition “leaders” have been invited to this year’s Independence Day celebrations.

  1. There is effectively ONE opposition leader in the land – and he has the trickiest choice to make, if indeed invited.
  2. Our Independence Day has hardly been used for nation-building but rather to parade the Presidency and rulership.

On many occasions it has been a platform for ripping the country apart with partisan rhetoric

  1. Nationhood must ideally be courted elsewhere before being “paraded” as genuine.

Presenting one nation when clearly there is no such unity voids the day and the invitation.

  1. The language of these State occasion speeches is unpredictable and partisan pronouncements are common.

For five mayoral years I attended, lonely, as “one-ari-ega” opposition face at these events.

I would only sigh with relief at the end of the events – if no toxicity was spewed.

But, however, in that tour of duty experience I met some real compatriots – warmly and sincerely – sharing oneness and brotherhood at such occasions.

I think the GNU days also had such positives.

  1. The resurgence of the change movement may also be reason why this move has been made: to neutralise or to recognise
  2. Not sure what unifying dress code is proposed for the event.

Yellow has been banned in Parliament

Then there would be safety and security issues for yellow leaders and supporters.

Former Black Rhinos Midfielder Dies

Former Black Rhinos player Nigel Muchadeyi has died.

He was 28.

The midfielder played for Rhinos in the Premier Soccer League and when the team was in Division One in 2016.

Details surrounding Muchadeyi’s death are still sketchy at this moment but club Secretary General Colonel Edward Mutukwa confirmed the news.

“It is with deep sadness that the entire Black Rhinos FC family has received the death of Nigel ‘Majabvi’ Muchadeyi,” Mutukwa said.

“A fine footballer who played an instrumental role in making sure Black Rhinos FC was promoted from Division 1 into the Premier League in 2016. This was after our ZNA flagship team was at relegated into the Division 1 league in 2015.

“It is unfortunate that the young man passed away at critical time in his life and career. So sad indeed, MHDSREP, we say zorora murugare.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Dudula Leader Unmasked

Nhlanhla “Lux” Mohlauhi (also Dlamini) has been churning up anti-foreigner sentiment and bursting into people’s homes like a vigilante, instilling fear and panic in refugee and immigrant communities.

Mohlauhi found his 15 seconds of fame on 13 July 2021 after posting a video of himself on Facebook when the riots and looting that had gripped KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng had spread to Soweto.

“Defend the township economy and the elephant at the centre, which is Maponya Mall … They will never breach the mall, it will be over my dead body; this can be my last day…” he declared.

The post caught fire. Mohlauhi was cast as a township warrior, a hero of eKasi, a fresh young guard, at last, rising to take a stand against looters, criminals and lawlessness.

But a month earlier Mohlauhi had been making sparks with a “clean-up” project in Soweto aimed at shutting down businesses run by foreign shop owners that his group deemed illegal. Mohlauhi was at the helm of the group organised under the banner of Operation Dudula (“beat back” in isiZulu).

Mohlauhi has since lapped up the limelight of television and radio interviews, and his ever-growing social media followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, but has played a cat-and-mouse game over the past five months with Daily Maverick journalists who have been trying to interview him about the increasingly violent actions triggered by Operation Dudula’s anti-foreigner rhetoric and raids.

The current surge of xenophobic hatred led to the murder of Zimbabwean gardener and father of four, Elvis Nyathi (43) on 8 April. Nyathi was killed in Diepsloot by a mob going door to door demanding to see visas. They drove him out from his hiding place, beat him and burnt his body.

The feast of low-hanging fruit

Operation Dudula’s tactics have been to work as a mob, demanding that people produce documents to prove their identity and legal status in the country. Those who cannot comply are detained by the mob, supposedly to hand over to police for deportation.

Operation Dudula has in the past 10 months become a fast-growing movement. It bills itself as a group of citizens with a mission to “Put South Africans first. Only legal immigrants in SA”.

It has shown signs of significant growth in the past few months with branches being established across Joburg, but it’s also known to bus supporters in to gatherings. During its launch in Jeppestown on 19 March, the group descended on four companies: Hersol Laboratories, BMG, Disappeared Anodes and Sharp Centre. They also targeted restaurants in Maboneng and demanded that these companies only employ South Africans.

The movement is marked by loose organisational and membership structures as well as high social media visibility and activity – two elements that supercharge proliferation and replication.

The movement has muscle in the form of the Put South Africa First campaign, which includes the Alexandra Dudula Movement, the All Truck Drivers Foundation and the disbanded MKMVA – the uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association.

Then there’s also an open invitation to the feasting table groaning with the lowest of low-hanging fruits: open season to take aim at a failing ANC government and blaming the day-to-day realities of joblessness, scarce resources being spread even more thinly, soaring crime and a drug dependency crisis on undocumented foreigners.

Operation Dudula’s rapid rise to prominence off the back of outsiders as scapegoats has to be framed within the fallout of Covid-19 deaths and lockdown. The Social Economic Rights Institute (SERI) noted in February: “The devastating impact of the pandemic in the past two years has seen people from all walks of life being pushed into poverty. The informal sector continues to face the harsh reality of economic and political woes.

“In recent weeks the informal sector, which was the hardest hit by the prolonged lockdown compounded by policy neglect, is now being subjected to unlawful, discriminatory, and politically motivated conduct orchestrated by some political parties under the pretext of protecting employment for vulnerable South Africans.”

Operation Dudula’s promise that “now it’s the turn for South Africans to eat” has driven up its Facebook member numbers. Its public membership groups on the platform have just a few hundred members but it’s in the private groups that the action happens: these groups each have tens of thousands of members. A request  to join any one of these groups returns a warning by Facebook that content on the group violates its community standards.

Slippery Mohlauhi backpedals

Publicly, Mohlauhi seems at pains to say “that they are fighting crime and operating within the boundary of the law”. So he would be best placed to explain why content on Operation Dudula’s Facebook groups would be considered offensive. He could also answer and clear up the gossip, red flags and gaps in his story that have been swirling since he started making headlines and becoming a trending hashtag.

Alas – but not unexpectedly – he once again backpedalled since initially agreeing to an interview with DM168 on 29 March.

His response in that Tuesday telephone conversation was: “From Friday I’m available, my darling, I’m just waiting for my legal team to fly in and my green light is from 3pm – call me on Friday morning and we can meet at the Soweto Parliament.”

Let’s pause here…

The cracks widen

Mohlauhi never took a call that Friday and has not responded to interview requests since. Saying yes to us would mean answering questions about cracks in his stories that were lapped up by media when he first started giving interviews.

There was no “legal team flying in” for him. He had already been released on bail after being arrested and charged in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 28 March for housebreaking with intention to steal and for malicious damage to property. The incident occurred when Mohlauhi and some of his followers apparently broke away from an Operation Dudula march that had a police escort.

This breakaway group apparently targeted the home of a man called Victor Ramarafe whom they alleged to be a drug dealer. They allegedly stormed and ransacked Ramarafe’s home.

Ramarafe is a known EFF supporter. Police confirmed that no drugs were found and maintained that they were not conducting the raid alongside Operation Dudula. Mohlauhi is expected back in court on 27 May.

Mohlauhi had, till his court appearance, gone by the surname Dlamini, never bothering to make the correction – another discrepancy, or deflection. During the brief court appearance he asked to address the court. Bizarrely it was to make an apology for being dressed casually. He was wearing a black tracksuit top.

Back to his telephone conversation comment of meeting at the “Soweto Parliament” – no satellite navigation device, no Google Maps, not even a good ol’ street address would provide a location for the Soweto Parliament. It’s because it doesn’t physically exist. Just like Mohlauhi’s Young Peoples (sic) Government of South Africa. They are just names; constructs in his imagination and on Facebook pages. It has no mandate, no governance structures, no elections or nominations, not even a telephone number that works.

Knocking at the door of privilege

It brings his story to a “rewind moment”, back to Mohlauhi’s childhood and school days, and then to a life lived mostly through social media curation and fantasy. There’s deep tragedy here too of how opportunities from his school days led him to the edge of the promised land of money, privilege and a life outside the township grind.

Even sadder perhaps is that he is a casualty of being torn between two worlds in a fractured society – growing up neither fully of Soweto nor fully of Sandton. He has said in a radio interview on KayaFM: “I was forced into two worlds, so you felt you had to adapt.”

On one hand it’s made him a crafty chameleon. When he was invited to Ethiopia in January he framed his message as ‘fighting colonial forces” and “standing up for our motherland Africa – we can’t leave here like other people”. He cosied up to Namibia’s youngest parliamentarian Patience Masua and posted photos with her as “young African leaders uniting” on Facebook.

But on home turf he sticks to the “Put South Africa First” line. Pushed on this inconsistency his go-to response is that it’s not a fight against foreigners but a fight against undocumented foreigners.

It’s a false distinction, of course. When a foreigner is attacked they will not be able to hold back vigilantes and mobs while they try to produce paperwork.

The schoolboy vs the man today

Mohlauhi grew up in Soweto between split households in Dube and Meadowlands. He has gone on record as saying his dad was a struggle hero and gangster, forced to rob banks to fund the struggle. He never names him.

He grew up sporty and after getting into public model C schools, including at Jeppe Boys High, he earned a sports scholarship to the upscale Catholic private boys school St David’s Marist Inanda in Johannesburg, where he matriculated in 2005.

An old schoolmate, who spoke to DM168 anonymously, can’t reconcile that the “likeable guy with the polished Sandton accent [which he now drops depending on his audience] who hung out in the library” is the person who’s “controversial and putting out anti-foreigner rhetoric”.

Social media fantasy

This schoolmate said the “Lux” persona emerged years after school, in the years when Instagram started becoming a thing. In his very first Instagram post in March 2015, Mohlauhi flashes a blingy timepiece, sports dark shades and a pin-on pilot’s badge. He hashtagged something about promoting his company “Native Airways”.

In the following posts he starts quoting himself in professionally designed logos that feature the Soweto cooling towers, the words “Soweto Airport” and an airplane. Then there’s an endless scroll of him in great outfits posing in private jets, sometimes with a Macbook conveniently in view; shirtless, brushing down a racehorse; on a golf course; or cruising top-down in imported cars. He also seeks out photo ops across his social media platforms with everyone from beauty queens to politicians, among them Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida, former president Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke and billionaire investor Rob Hersov.

His more recent posts are of him in camo fatigues and he has posted curious military or defence-themed posts on his Facebook. The most mind-boggling is a video in a garage gym where he’s in camo gear running on a treadmill with an automatic rifle that he aims into an imaginary battlefield.

Mohlauhi was a member of the Naturena Community Policing Forum’s patrol group in about 2019. Deputy chairperson of the CPF Naturena Crime Forum Nceba Ndube praised Mohlauhi.

“We invited him, he came and he helped a lot with our recruitment drives and he also contributed about R10,000 to our forum,” said Ndube.

Ndube said in Naturena they battle crimes that include drug dealing, especially in crystal meth, cable theft and housebreaking.

“These people we are arresting are undocumented foreigners and they are coming to cripple our country. So for me personally, not as the CPF, I support what Nhlanhla is doing 100%,” he said.

Bills and bail as the courts catch up

But building Mohlauhi’s brand has come with a price tag and, allegedly, also unpaid bills.

Mohlauhi is being sued to the tune of R600,000 by an events and promotions company called Vertex Events. According to lawyer Muyeyeka Bazuka Mhango of Bazuka & Company, the matter relates to an outstanding debt for promotions work done for Mohlauhi that dates back to 2015. Mhango said they expect to file papers in the Johannesburg High Court within the next fortnight.

“My client has tried for years to get their money … It’s a matter for the high court because of the large amount of money involved,” Mhango said.

And just this week it emerged that, on 13 February, Mohlauhi was handed a “caution and discharge” notice. Essentially he has been convicted for failure to appear in court in September 2019 in connection with a common assault case in which he is alleged to have attacked a tenant who hadn’t paid rent to his mother on time.

He must now appear in court on 3 May for the common assault charge or face another fine or jail time.

Clipped wings

Mohlauhi has 10 companies registered under his name, but none trade today.

His schoolmate summed it up: “The bursary kids had it tough; they were at school with these rich Sandton kids so the black kids generally hung around with each other. There wasn’t any nastiness towards them but maybe the school made him aspire for wealth … seeing wealth was all around him and he didn’t have it.”

When he was 28 years old Mohlauhi was interviewed for a “Black Excellence” Q&A in Bona magazine, published in March 2015. Mohlauhi told the publication that he studied politics at the University of Johannesburg and became an ANC youth league secretary on campus. But he “got bored” and dropped out.

He claimed to have convinced the Chinese embassy in Pretoria to accept his proposal to “teach sports development” in the country in exchange for being able to study in China. He was 19 and without any qualifications in sports development, but he said they agreed and he left for China. Within a year he was back in South Africa.

At that point he turned his attention to “studying” golf through the Professional Golfing Association. That career choice didn’t stick either because he moved on to register Native Airways. He claimed in that Q&A to have qualified as a pilot but said in another interview this year that his licence lapsed.

There are many non-starts, outright fails and almost desperate curation in the contradictions that make up the story of Mohlauhi. Operation Dudula represents a restart, perhaps also a meal ticket. Or maybe there’s a political springboard or a shot at stretching out his 15 minutes of fame a little bit more.

Bankrolling xenophobia

Mohlauhi has insisted that Operation Dudula is not funded by anyone, just individual members who contribute a few rands towards communal transport to get to marches and operations. There are also T-shirt sales.

But he has blipped on the radar of many political parties. He’s found himself in the crosshairs of the EFF and he readily goads Julius Malema on public platforms. Outside the Johannesburg Central Police Station when he was arrested in March he said to TV cameras: “Julius wants to hold on to power. When a strong man is speaking and people are listening better he is jealous … he hates our progress.”

But Mohlauhi has friends in Action SA and in the Patriotic Alliance. Herman Mashaba, interviewed on Radio702 at the time Mohlauhi was arrested, said he admired what Operation Dudula does but warned them not to take the law into their own hands.

“It hurts me to see this young man in jail today while the real criminals are sitting in Parliament and Cabinet,” the Action SA leader said. He also laughed off suggestions that he is the money behind Operation Dudula.

Meanwhile Kenny Kunene, deputy president of the Patriotic Alliance, said to DM168: “I would love for Nhlanhla Lux to be a member of the Patriotic Alliance, to be a leader so we can appoint him as minister of foreign affairs and he can finish where Dr Aaron Motsoaledi cannot go because of the limitation of his party. Nhlanhla can deal decisively with this issue of illegal immigration.”

Kunene was in court on 28 March and was ready to pay Mohlauhi’s bail, but he said Mohlauhi’s mother paid as the R1,500 bail “was trivial”.

Kunene did not want to disclose amounts but said: “I have assisted here and there … I am not only supporting Nhlanhla but I have also assisted in other incidents where leaders of PA and other Operation Dudula members were arrested. We are supporting each other because we have got the same patriotic goal to put South Africa first.” DM168

Violence At Mugodhi Shrine As Battle For Control Of Sect Rages On

By A Correspondent- A fight erupted at Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church headquarters in Wedza, Mashonaland East on Friday  as the battle for the control of the sect rages on.

The factions are both claiming total control of the perceived holy ground.-standard

Little Known DIM Political Party Petitions ED For Dialogue

By A Correspondent- A little known Diplomatic Intelligence Movement (DIM) political party President Ashley Zhou has petitioned President Emmerson Mnangagwa for a dialogue on  youth involvement in Zimbabwean politics.

“Mr president ,I draw inspiration from your famous words “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo”,in addition to that,in our meeting more ways will be discussed on how to make youth more patriotic to their country,” said Zhou.

Zhou said the 1924,1961,1965 and 1969 constitution were the most discriminatory laws by foreign countries as they used to it ill treat Zimbabwean s and Britain has the obligation to compensate Zimbabwe.

Durban Floods Damage Shock Zulu King

AmaZulu King MisuZulu KaZwelithini said he was shocked by the extent of the damage caused by the heavy rains that induced floods and mudslides in KwaZulu-Natal Province.

The king visited the area of Tshelimnyama, west of Durban, with billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe and KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala.

The AmaZulu King expressed shock over the scale of the devastation caused by the floods and also thanked the Motsepe Foundation for its financial donation to people affected by the natural disaster. He said:

We are all shocked by the storms. We are in pain. As we speak, there are still missing people.

These rains showed us that it has damaged a lot of infrastructure, and even businesses have been affected.

However, I am happy that Motsepe Foundation has come on board to help us.

It is not the first time the foundation reaching out to us.

The Motsepe Foundation donated R30 million to assist families affected by the floods. Said Motsepe:

We came here today to make a humble donation of R30 million from the Motsepe Foundation to help our people.

There was a meeting that took place earlier and after that we visited many places in the province and you can see that many of our people are suffering because of the way the flood has impacted and affected their lives.

Nearly 400 people have been confirmed dead following the floods, with thousands more displaced after their homes were washed away by flash floods and mudslides.

The Department of Human Settlements said around 4 000 homes have been completely destroyed by the floods in KZN, with Tshelimnyama having been one of the areas most affected.

Seh Calaz Defends Makandiwa Over ED “Invitation”

By A Correspondent- Zimdancehall musician Seh Calaz, real name Tawanda Mumanyi, has defended United Family International Church (UFIC) founder and leader Emmanuel Makandiwa for inviting President Emmerson Mnangagwa to his church service on Saturday afternoon.

Mnangagwa, the First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa, and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga attended a church service at the UFIC International Easter Conference on Saturday in Chitungwiza.

However, Seh Calaz says Makandiwa’s critics should just leave him alone as he has the right to freedom of association. In a post on his Facebook page, the musician said:

The Departure Of Standard Chartered- A Case Of Economic Commitment

By Tinashe Eric Muzamhindo- Few days ago, the Standard Chartered bank closed all it’s branches in Zimbabwe, except a few remaining as they wind up their 120 year journey in the southern African nation.

This came as a surprise, a big blow not only to business , but vehemently a wake up call to our leadership in Zimbabwe. Surprisingly, the CEO of the bank appeared in Zambia with President Hichilema, announcing a 40 million deal, occupying a designated building as it’s main Headquarters.

We need to reflect as a nation, and see where we have gone wrong, and offer strategic home grown solutions around the current trajectory. This was a big blow to our country, considering job losses, foreign direct investment, revenue, the negative sentiments around the leadership, and the PR stance around ” Zimbabwe is open for business mantra”.

What picture does it give to few potential investors who are willing to come and partner with Zimbabwe? I thought I can give few cents advice to the current trajectory. We had by elections recently, and what was the conclusion of those who are willing to do business with Zimbabwe?

What about the debt obligation? Have we managed to repay the creditors? Recently, the Finance Ministry revealed that our debt stands at 19 Billion, and as moved from 14 Billion, and this means we have managed to borrow 5 billion without Parliamentary approval? How then do we report back to people about this obligation?

We don’t have a proper financial report concerning the debt obligation. How was the money used? Any form of agreements signed for acquiring the new debt? Do we have any proper debt restructuring framework?

According to Financial Analysts, every Zimbabwean has a debt burden of $14 000 which must be paid in future.

We need to focus on the following :

1. *Human rights obligation*
We need to have a clean record, to attract new investors, and those who are trying to market our country will not have any hurdles around Zim agenda.

We need to have proper human rights records, and we must show the world that we have changed the way we do business, before we sell this Zimbabwe is open for business mantra. Literally, we have a duty to practice what we preach, and it will be a waste of resources to go and knock doors in foreign lands, with blood on our hands.

2. *Debt obligation*

The procedure is before we borrow funds from any international creditors, we must seek permission from Parliament, and there must be legislative processes and back up to approve the loans.

Surprisingly, the Finance Minister announced recently, we have a debt obligation of 19 billion, no explanation was given on how we have arrived on that figure. This will be a thorn in the flesh for investors, citizens, development partners and many other stakeholders how we managed to accrue to such a figure.

 *Business Model to run Zim*

We need a proper business model to run Zimbabwe. Who is carrying feasibility studies around our projects across all sectors of the economy? Are we doing the right thing? What are we getting from minerals we have in Zimbabwe?

Those who are purported to be new investors, do have the proper skills, proper record to do business with Zimbabwe? Are we not mortgaging our country to dubious investors? What are we getting from our raw materials? Are we not exporting both labour, raw materials and semi- finished products to foreign lands?

What are we getting from Belarusians in exchange of buses ? What are the implications of these deals? We have more than 85 minerals in Zimbabwe, and are we utilizing these resources in a proper manner?

Recently, there were oil discoveries in Muzarabani area, and are we deploying strategic thinking, research and development on these areas of study? We need to invest in research and development, and the findings must be made Public, so that independent thinkers can put their input on our findings.

4. *Policy clarity*
Leadership must clear all inconsistencies regarding policy matters. Conflicting statements around policy matters is a blow to those who want to do business with Zimbabwe. We need a proper policy direction in all critical sectors of the economy, mining, Agriculture, Tourism, Industry/manufacturing, education, health etc. We need a Strategic investment conference to deal with gaps around investment opportunities.

5. *Cutting expenditure*
We have a bloated cabinet. We have more than 25 Ministers, deputy Ministers which may not even be necessary. Cabinet must be trimmed to 15 or the least to 18. We must do away with deputy Ministers. We can make use of permanent secretaries, or principal directors in line ministries. The resources can be channeled to health and education sector

6. *Reduce foreign missions*

We have too many embassies around the globe. There is need for Foreign Affairs Ministry to restructure the foreign mission, and remain with Strategic embassies. We have a huge bill around funding foreign missions, and some of these embassies have gone for months without salaries.

8. *Advisory council must be trimmed to five people*
President Mnangagwa has over 25 advisors, and this is a burden to the fiscus. It means every advisor needs perks, salary, allowances and can this be a sustainable development considering that our national treasury is bleeding, and hospitals have gone for months without drugs? Medical personnel needs decent salaries and proper housing plan?
9. *PR team around Presidency*

The team around those managing Presidency are not doing a good job . We have a low – weight approach around Presidency. During Mugabe’s era, State House was a special place, and we could not witness what we are seeing today. I’m not sure if there is a proper vetting process being done , before meeting His Excellency. The recent Dubai expo meeting was not done properly, more Economic players would have been invited, and private sector would have played a key role on advisory, and it could have made a lot of sense with the involvement on business.

10. *2023 elections will be a litmus test*
We have a burden as a nation ahead of harmonized polls in 2023. Potential investors, development partners, regional bodies, international community and creditors are sitting on the fence to either endorse or discredit the polls. We need to pay attention to key areas around the anticipated polls.

Last but not least, are we doing the right thing to preserve our integrity as a nation? Do we have proper Strategic Thinking around the current trajectory? Do we have the necessary personnel around Strategic key areas of governance? I suggest, we may need a reshuffle of ideas , and deploy strategy.

“Prophet” Rushiri Infects Young Ladies With Deadly STI

By A Correspondent

A Masvingo conman who calls himself Prophet Rushiri is being accused of raping young girls and seducing married women.

Rushiri made headlines last year after he took away someone’s wife and a Toyota Funcago. It is believed that the couple assisted Rushiri with transport and the “prophet” snatched the married woman.

There are also many people who are complaining about Rushiri’s style called nyama yese inodyiwa which means (every lady is good for sex).

Masvingo residents said they want Mr rapist Rushiri to be arrested as he is affecting young kids with a deadly STI .

“I was once a member of this conmen (Rushiri) , later on I found out he was sleeping with my under age daughter and muroora wangu, vatete nemuroora. Those days ndichiri kuita tsvakurudzo izere ndipo ndakanzwa nyaya yekuti vari kuvatazve nemuridzi wemunhu aivapa mota

“The Liberation Struggle Is Our Generational Mandate”: CCC

By A Correspondent- The opposition CCC has encouraged its supporters and members countrywide to attend Independence Day celebrations organised by the ZANU PF-led Government in their respective areas.

Inmate Ejaculates On Fellow New Inmate, Blames Wet Dreams

By A Correspondent- An inmate at Bulawayo Prison has appeared before a magistrate for an alleged act of misconduct after he ejaculated between the thighs of a fellow intimate while they were asleep.

Brendon Moyo (24) of Njube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomasiko Ndlovu last week.

He was charged with indecent assault as defined in section 67 of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9:23.

Moyo was, however, acquitted after he argued that he did not intentionally do the misconduct as it was a result of a wet dream.

Magistrate Ndlovu ruled that there was no evidence that Moyo inserted his privates between the thighs of the fellow inmate intentionally.

She said wet dreams happen when someone is asleep and not aware of what is happening to them and therefore, it might be possible that the accused’s act was not intentional.

Prosecutor Siphiwe Mhlanga said the incident happened on 11 November last year when the accused had allegedly invited a new inmate in Cell 7 to come to sleep next to him as the other side was crowded.

It was further alleged that during the night the inmate felt Moyo touch the lower part of his waist and he ignored him thinking it was a matter of overcrowding.

Around 3 AM, Moyo allegedly inserted his privates between the new inmate’s legs and ejaculated.

The inmate told other inmates who informed a prison officer leading to Moyo’s arrest.

ED Pampers Soldiers

By A Correspondent- A move to award soldiers a 37% pay increase at a time when the government is silent about reviewing civil servants salaries has drawn fire from some teachers’ unions, who say it exposed double standards.

According to Defence ministry correspondence, soldiers received a salary increment effective April 1.

Their allowances would also be reviewed according to grades.

This is not the first time uniformed officers have received salary increments ahead of their colleagues within the public service.

The local currency has been sliding in value in recent weeks, as inflation gallops, sparking an increase in prices of goods and services.

According to the Consumer Council of Zimbabwe, an average urban family now needs over $90 000 a month as of March to survive.

The soldiers’ salary review was forced by inflationary pressures, the ministry’s circular says.

“Be advised that the following deliberations have been made between Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), Defence Forces Service Commission (FSC), Ministry of Defence (MOD) and war veterans and Treasury, the DFSC has approved part of the implementation of the military concept and related allowance for colonels and below,” the circular reads in part.

In 2020, there was a widespread outcry from ordinary civil servants over an increment awarded exclusively to the men in uniform.

Defence minister Oppah Muchinguri and army spokesperson Alphios Makotore said welfare issues for soldiers were confidential before demanding questions in writing.

Mnangagwa Bribes Soldiers To Avoid Coup

By- President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government has awarded soldiers a 37% pay increase.

This comes at a time when the government is silent about reviewing civil servants’ salaries.

Defence minister Oppah Muchinguri and army spokesperson Alphios Makotore said welfare issues for soldiers were confidential before demanding questions in writing.
“You may have to send your questions in writing. Security and defence matters cannot be discussed over the phone,” Muchinguri said yesterday.
On Friday, Makotore said: “Issues of salaries are confidential and we are going to respond on Monday.
“Send the questions in writing and we put it on record.”
On Thursday, MDC Alliance legislator Peter Moyo told Parliament that the government’s failure to adequately remunerate soldiers was pushing them into crime.
In March, three soldiers were each sentenced to 15 years behind bars after being convicted of armed robbery, theft and unlawful entry by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces general court martial.
However, teacher unions could not hide their anger over the alleged unfair treatment they are getting from their employer.
“The government is very aware that the military plays a key role to preserve power and we don’t care about who is in power.
“What we need is food on the table and that can be done by improving the welfare of the teachers,” Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Obert Masaraure said.
Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Takavafira Zhou added: “The government has never taken us seriously.”
Teachers are at loggerheads with the government over poor working conditions.
Last year, there were reports that junior soldiers were sent on forced re-training in Hwange as punishment for demanding a salary increase during an ostensibly no-holds-barred meeting. Standard

Another Horror Crash Kills Two

By- Two people have been killed and 14 others seriously injured in a Stallion Cruise bus.

The bus rammed into a haulage truck in the Masenyane area along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway in early Sunda.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Officer Commanding Lupane District, Chief Inspector Laxmore Dube, said the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Dube said the Stallion Cruise bus crashed into the haulage which was carrying coal.

The injured were all taken to the nearby St Luke’s Hospital in Lupane, while the bodies of the deceased were retrieved from the wreckage.

Chief Inspector Dube said police are conducting investigations to gather facts surrounding the fatal accident.

He warned motorists to avoid night driving if possible and to carry danger warning signs in the event of breakdowns.

The accident occurred just a few after days after another bus accident claimed the lives of 37 Zion Christian Church (ZCC) members in Chimanimani.

The overloaded St Charles Lwanga High School bus had 106 ZCC congregants on board from Chimanimani East’s Tilbury Estate, who were travelling to an Easter pilgrimage at Mbungo Estates shrine, Masvingo.

The accident occurred five kilometres from Jopa turn-off along the Chimanimani-Chipinge highway just after midnight on Thursday.

The bus reportedly lost brakes before it veered off the winding road near the Chimanimani-Chipinge boundary and careered into a deep ravine.

Traditional Leaders, Apostolic Sect Healers Named Over Violating Women And Girls With Disabilities

By A Correspondent- Traditional healers (n’angas) and apostolic healers are among the perpetrators of sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) against women and girls with disabilities.

This was said by Public Service and Social Development, director of disability affairs Christine Peta in an interview with NewZimbabwe.com. Said Peta:

It is a growing problem that needs to be nipped because women with disabilities are being sexually abused by apostolic sect healers and traditional healers.

There is a huge problem here in Zimbabwe of women and girls with disabilities facing (SGBV).

We are seeing prophets from the apostolic sect telling women with mantle disabilities that if they want to be healed they should sleep with them.

I heard from the spirit that it is the only way to heal you and make you whole again without disability.

Peta said the healers sexually abuse disabled women and girls on the pretext that they will be healed if they consent to sexual intercourse with them. She said:

If you want to get out of the wheelchair you should sleep with me, this is happening in the apostolic sect and traditional healers.

In our research, we have found that the healing process at these places is shrouded in SGBV.

Women Coalition of Zimbabwe (WiCoZ) national coordinator Sally Dura said:

As WiCoZ, we will engage traditional healers and faith-based organisations in coming up with ways of tackling SGBV against women and girls.

Makandiwa Fights In Mnangagwa’s Corner

By- United Family International Church (UFIC) founder and leader Emmanuel Makandiwa has defended Zanu PF for its failure to create employment.

The self-styled prophet said that Zimbabweans should not expect President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government to create jobs for them.

Addressing a church service in Chitungwiza on Saturday Makandiwa said the Government’s role is to create an environment for individuals to prosper. He said:
It is never the responsibility of the Government to create jobs for you. The creation of an environment is their responsibility so that you and I prosper and we have that opportunity in Zimbabwe.
There is something wrong with a citizen who keeps complaining and shifting blame.

The church service was attended by Mnangagwa, his wife Auxillia and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga,

Chamisa Calls For A 2023 Election Roadmap Dialogue

By- The Citizens Coalition for Change leader, Nelson Chamisa has challenged Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa to call for a 2023 election roadmap indaba.

Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said a 2023 election roadmap dialogue would help avoid the holding of another contested Presidential poll.

Posted Chamisa:
It’s about 60 weeks to the 2023 general election. Any dialogue must be about reforms & the road to 2023, not a GNU. As Zimbabweans, we must find each other to avoid yet another disputed election & all its undesired consequences. We need a Pre-Elections Pact on Reforms (PREPARE).
Whoever Wins an undisputed mandate in 2023 must then unite the nation, form a credible inclusive Team ZIMBABWE & deliver prosperity and happiness.
Chamisa said the five years after the next elections should be about nation-building and the transformation of the economy, instead of unending politicking.

Khupe Withdraws CCC Senior Party Position Contest

By- Former Deputy Prime minister and MDC-T vice president Thokozani Khupe says she was no longer interested in contesting for any position when Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) holds its congress.

This comes after Khupe last week officially joined CCC ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections amid fierce resistance from some quarters in the newly-formed party whose entire leadership is on an interim basis pending an elective congress.

Speaking through her spokesperson Ntando Ndlovu, Khupe told the Daily News yesterday that she was content with being just a card-carrying member of the CCC.

“Khupe’s current pre-occupation, like every party member, is for CCC to capture State power and form the next government next year so that all Zimbabweans can get a better life, a decent living and salaries, proper healthcare, quality education and decent employment,” Ndlovu said.

“She is not in this new movement for a position. She will, however, play her part like every ordinary citizen in organising and mobilising around the programme of change. Khupe, therefore, refuses to be diverted by rumour mongers and gatekeepers who are hell bent on projecting her as a power hungry politician.”

He said Khupe, together with her former supporters, were now officially CCC members after her unveiling last weekend before the new party’s interim leader Nelson Chamisa with whom she had been at war over the control of the MDC since the death of its founding president Morgan Tsvangirai in February 2018.

Chamisa was last weekend forced to intervene after angry party youth bayed for her blood, barring her from attending a provincial assembly meeting held at McDonald Hall in Mzilikazi suburb in Bulawayo, accusing her of being a Zanu PF surrogate.

Khupe, who showed up at the event upon Chamisa’s arrival, was greeted with obscene shouts from the youths who vowed not to let her be part of the meeting.

“Khupe you are not welcome here. All along you were dining and wining with (President Emmerson) Mnangagwa, busy plotting the destruction of our party.

“You even recalled our members from Parliament, who are some of the leaders you want to meet today. Are you not ashamed of what you did?” shouted one of the people who attacked the former deputy prime minister.

On her way into the venue, escorted by her aides, the CCC youth physically pushed her away while blocking her way in an incident that lasted for about 10 minutes.

Sensing danger, Khupe retreated into her vehicle before Chamisa and some party leaders came to her rescue.

Miffed by the violent behaviour of his party activists, Chamisa was forced to call them to order, describing the new movement as non-violent.

“I am not a leader of a violent community and I will never accept violence. This is why I left MDC to form a peaceful organisation with God fearing supporters,” he pleaded.

“I do not want this to resemble Mnangagwa’s organisation or even that of Mugabe. I am not happy with those youth who are blocking Khupe. I did not invite her, but she has the right as a citizen to be in this meeting,” Chamisa told the gathering.
