Village Heads “Feast” On Presidential Inputs

Zanu-PF Mazowe district co-ordinating committee (DCC) chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara has accused local village heads of stealing agricultural inputs sourced under the presidential inputs scheme, depriving targeted beneficiaries.

Speaking at a campaign rally for Zanu-PF aspiring councillor Bester Mhandu, Musarara claimed 10 bags of fertilizer meant for vulnerable families had gone missing in Jengamvura.

“As the DCC, we figured out that some of the village heads in this ward had stolen presidential inputs, thereby, putting the name of Zanu-PF in disrepute. I am told the stolen fertilizer was recovered and they will be distributed to those that did not get them,” Musarara said.

We are going to make sure that disciplinary action is taken to deal with the culprits.”

Mazowe DCC secretary for production Tichaona Chawana apologised to party supporters.

“I can confirm that the said fertilizer was stolen, but I would like to apologise on behalf of the village heads. We have since recovered the loot.  May we continue to vote for Zanu-PF because the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change) has nothing to offer,” Chawana said.

Zanu-PF central committee member John Nhamburo also attended the rally.-Newsday

Chihuri Tears Into Hodzi’s Unconstitutional Order Over Properties

FORMER Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Augustine Chihuri has vehemently opposed a High Court order for his properties to be forfeited arguing it is unconstitutional.

He argued that he acquired his vast wealth legally and legitimately since he was gainfully employed.

He said it was naïve for the State to suggest he obtained the assets now targeted for forfeiture from corruption.

He also raised complaints against former Prosecutor General (PG) Kumbirai Hodzi, saying he was driven by hate.

The former police boss, currently exiled in Malawi following the 2017 coup that toppled the late former President Robert Mugabe, is accused of syphoning state funds amounting US$32 million.

The trial in the matter commenced before High Court judge, Pisirayi Kwenda and Chihuri is represented by Addington Chinake.

Chinake said affidavits before the court against his client were tendered by officers who were not in the service at the time the offence as allegedly committed.

“They actually have no personal knowledge,” he said.

“The current commissioner general Matanga himself is the one who dealt with the first applicant (Chihuri). He has not furnished the court with any allegations the court cannot go by hearsay,” submitted Chinake.

The lawyer added: “The court doesn’t balance the interests of the applicants in assets that they say were illegitimately acquired…they cannot be mass forfeiture which is essentially what this case is about.”

It’s about mass forfeiture, unconnected, unproven just following mere allegations. There has been no regards to the working history and businesses of the applicant. The applicant is seeking its discharge principally on the basis that it’s an unconstitutional order where there was no right to be heard right to the administrative of justice.”

Chinake said Chihuri has always been gainfully employed, having rose through the ranks in the police force before graduating into senior service following his contribution in the liberation struggle.

He said he is not a dubious character.

“He is not a dubious character who suddenly woke up to amass such wealth. It’s painful for example that the applicant being a beneficiary of the land reform programme was also a farmer producing maize which he sold to GMB.”

“However, after the November 2017 events his maize would not be accepted by the state so the applicant cannot be said to have obtained money or generated money through improper or elicit means when in fact he has chronicled before this court full details of how he was engaged in banana farming, maize farming which was sold for profit,” he said.

Chinake said Chihuri has shown good cause by showing defects of an unconstitutional nature.

He went on to attack Hodzi.

“I respectfully submit that the PG’s approach to this matter demonstrates the hazard that exists in allowing the public officials unfettered power to simply point at a person and ask you to explain. The conduct of the PG in my own submission is irrational and it is unconstitutional,” he said.

“The PG actually records that these vehicles were registered with the ZRP but they were now transferred to the applicant’s name and he is now being asked to explain. This points to the existence of some ulterior motive,” submitted Chinake.

“When you have such power, you have to exercise such power judiciously, fairly and you should give any such person due notice of what you intend to do and affording them opportunity to respond and an opportunity to be heard and where they see reason to take action they must give reasons for doing that. This case is a good example where the PG’s office did not satisfy these requirements and for that reason this unexplained wealth order was obtained improperly and in an unconstitutional manner and must be set aside.”

The hearing continues on March 29 with the state responding to Chihuri arguments.

Woman Dumped Over Bleaching

QUESTIONS of beauty are uppermost in the minds of many women.

The tragedy of this very powerful and wealthy industry, however, is that too many women become its victims.

A woman from Hwange has become the talk of her area — DRC section in Empumalanga — after her husband of 10 years reportedly divorced her for bleaching her skin.

Ironically, Ellen Moyo bleached her skin to please her husband Norman Mabutho only for him to divorce her for that.

A source who spoke to B-Metro said Mabutho came back from South Africa where he works, a fortnight ago and found his wife looking different.

The source who claimed to have intimate details of the incident said Ellen decided to bleach her black skin after she once discovered that her husband was cheating on her with a light-skinned woman.

She reportedly thought bleaching her skin would make her more attractive to her husband and thus prevent him from having extra-marital affairs.

“The move, however, backfired when her husband who works in South Africa came back and found her looking different.

The bleaching seemed to have ruined her skin, something which didn’t go down well with her husband.

“When her husband saw her, he was shocked because she was really light in complexion.

Her husband was also complaining over the smell of her body which he said was no longer good,” said the source who declined to be named.

Mabutho who also suspected his wife of cheating claimed that was also the reason why she had decided to bleach her skin.

The source said efforts by relatives and friends to help the duo to solve their differences hit a brick wall.

“Relatives and friends tried to convince the husband to stick with their marriage but he refused.

The shamed wife is now going around telling people that she is the one who opted out of the marriage since her husband was cheating on her and is declaring that she will never ever get back with him,” the source said.

Spirited efforts to speak to Ellen were fruitless as her phone rang unanswered.

B-Metro also contacted Mabutho, who did not respond to text and WhatsApp messages sent to him on his South African number.

Meanwhile, an investigation by B-Metro revealed that skin lightening creams which are unlicensed and unregulated by the Government, have flooded the market in the country.

According to research the skin lightening creams contain a chemical called hydroquinone, which suppresses the production of skin colour.

They also contain mercury, a potentially dangerous substance which can interfere with kidney and nervous system function, and steroids, which can cause thinning of the skin.

Some of the popular creams sold on the streets include Movate, Carolite, Betasol, Diprozone, Epiderm, G’n’ G and Bio Claire and are not authorised by the Medicines Control Authority’s licensing and regulatory board, which tests products for banned substances.

Common side effects of the creams include uneven bleaching, intense irritation or even cancer.

Dermatologists are also on record warning that long-term, unsupervised use of skin lightening creams can cause a range of skin problems.-BMetro

Juju Thieves Wreck Havoc In Byo

A new breed of thieves that use juju to rob victims of their money and goods has emerged in Bulawayo.

According to two women whose chats have gone viral on WhatsApp, the juju made them blackout for a while as the thieves robbed them and by the time they regained their senses the robbers had already vanished.

One woman was robbed after she met a stranger in the city centre.

The stranger greeted her and the next thing she remembers was seeing herself at OK Mart on the outskirts of the city.

Her granddaughter says after she greeted the man, her grandmother took him to her car and surrendered everything.

The man then drove them to OK Mart.

After he left, she regained her senses but it was too late.

Another 50-year-old woman was robbed the same way in Emakhandeni suburb after trying to help a man who had asked her for directions.

She has no idea what happened next, but what she came to realise after she regained her senses was that her smartphone and wallet were gone.

She made a report at Luveve Police Station. Other robbers pretend to be asking for time.

“My cousin lost all the money she had collected from Mukuru after she responded to a man who requested time,” a source said.

Acting Bulawayo province police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said she was not aware of the incidents.-B Metro

Tenant Forces Co-tenant To Caress Erect Privates

By A Correspondent- A 28 year old Bulawayo woman was left horrified and scared after her 26-year-old fellow tenant stormed into her room and sneaked into her blankets before he allegedly forced her to touch his “erect” sexual organ.

The woman from Mahatshula North suburb was left scared when Forgive Mugorogodi apparently in a desperate bid to seduce her sternly ordered her to touch his manhood which was hanging out of his pants.

Allegations are that on 17 March 2022 and at around 10pm Mugorogodi went to the victim’s room while she was asleep and asked her to accommodate him under the guise that he wanted to watch TV.

The seemingly suspicious victim refused but Mugorogodi insisted before he forced himself into the victim’s room and sat on the edge of the bed.

After some time, Mugorogodi sneaked into the complainant’s blankets, and sensing danger, the victim jumped off the bed and took a bed sheet to cover herself since she was only wearing underwear.

A daring Mugorogodi forcibly took the bed sheet off the victim and the helpless victim later took a skin tight from the wardrobe and wore it.

Mugorogodi reportedly pulled the victim to the bed and started caressing her.

The complainant tried to escape but failed to do so since Mugorogodi kept a tight grip on her.

The victim later managed to escape and Mugorogodi took out his penis and asked her to take it back if she wanted him to go out of her room and the frightened victim complied.

Mugorogodi further kissed the victim on the cheek and quickly went out heading to his room.

The traumatised victim went and reported the matter to the police leading to Mugorogodi’s arrest.

Following his arrest Mugorogodi was brought before the court charged with indecent assault as defined in Section (67) (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.

Mugorogodi who pleaded not guilty was remanded out of custody to March 29 on $7 000 bail.-B Metro

Mnangagwa Says Chiefs Cannot Support The Opposition

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday warned chiefs against supporting the opposition, saying traditional leaders must remain loyal to the ruling Zanu-PF party if they want to retain their positions.

He also threatened to sabotage development projects and frustrate service delivery in urban local authorities led by opposition councillors.

Addressing thousands of ruling party supporters in St Mary’s, Chitungwiza, Mnangagwa warned that the party would not hesitate to dethrone chiefs found hobnobbing with opposition officials.

“We liberated the country through war. Some men and women perished. We said we would work with chiefs and when you see a chief supporting the opposition, that chief should do a cleansing ceremony and ask his ancestors why they would have forsaken him,” Mnangagwa said.

The Constitution explicitly bars traditional leaders from dabbling in partisan politics.

Chapter 15 of the Constitution says “traditional leaders must not be members of any political party or in any way participate in partisan politics, act in a partisan manner, further the interests of any political party or cause or violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of any person”.

But Chiefs’ Council president Fortune Charumbira has on several occasions publicly declared his allegiance to Zanu-PF.

Late last year, Chief Charumbira told delegates at a Zanu-PF national conference in Bindura, Mashonaland Central province, that traditional leaders were the “owners and stokeholders of Zanu-PF”.

In December, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga read the riot act to Chief Murinye of Masvingo after the traditional leader warned Mnangagwa that he risked losing the 2023 presidential race if he continued surrounding himself with corrupt lieutenants.

In his address yesterday, Mnangagwa threatened to block development in opposition-led local authorities if the electorate votes for Nelson Chamisa’s Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) councillors.

“If you want the government to listen to your concerns and address them, you will have to send them via channels which we recognise and not through the opposition,” Mnangagwa
said.

“Here is the opportunity to vote for people who submit your concerns to the leaders. You hear the young boy (Chamisa) saying if I win, he will make this country ungovernable. Let us make sure he won’t get into government.”

The opposition has accused Zanu-PF through the Local Government ministry of sabotaging service delivery in urban councils through late approval of budgets.

The ministry has in the past fired opposition councillors and replaced them with Zanu-PF-aligned commissioners.

Mnangagwa also said his government was determined to deregister non-governmental organisations that refused to toe the ruling party line.

The threat came at a time when the Zanu-PF administration has railroaded the Private Voluntary Organisations (PVO) Amendment Bill through Parliament to regulate the operations of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), civic, groups and trusts perceived to be anti-government.

According to civic groups, the Bill is a ploy to stop them from exposing misgovernance, corruption and human rights abuses.

“NGOs, which fail to stick to their mandate, I will push them out of the country, we can do without them, we don’t need them,” said Mnangagwa, before warning secessionists that they risked arrest.

“There are some Mthwakazi (members) who say they want Zimbabwe to be divided. They will speak, get old and die. Zimbabwe will remain a unitary State. No leadership in this world encourages its country to be divided. No one will divide it. If you want to do that you will leave shortly. Walk in the right path. We want peace, we want development. This country has its owners and it’s led by its owners. It can’t be led by people who get advice from whites,” he said.

Yesterday’s rally was probably Mnangagwa’s last before the country votes on Saturday to fill 28 parliamentary and 105 local government seats following recalls, deaths and diplomatic postings.

Mnangagwa Frog Marches Pupils To Zanu PF Rally

By- Zanu PF on Wednesday forced school-going children to its political rally in Chitungwiza.

Teachers’ unions have since condemned the act.

Students from Chaminuka Primary School in St Mary’s, Chitungwiza, were part of the crowd at a rally addressed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (Artuz) Obert Masaraure said political parties should desist from turning schools into campaign bases.
“We do not want politicians in our schools. Our schools should never be abused in terms of private political beings,” Masaraure said.
“In 2017, we reported the case of political interference to the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission. We are glad that at some point we had this commission issuing a damning report on Zanu PF condemning the abuse of schools, condemning the abuse of properties, condemning the dragging of learners and teachers to political rallies.”
He said Artuz was preparing a court challenge, seeking an order barring political parties from accessing schools as well as initiating a citizen-led process of producing safe schools regulations.
Zimbabwe National Teachers Union president Manuel Nyawo also called for de-politicisation of learning institutions.
“It is not ideal for politicians to hold rallies in school premises because we have always called for depoliticisation of learning institutions,” Nyawo said.
“We are not politicians and schools are not political grounds for politicians and, therefore, we appeal to these politicians to stay away from using school premises as rallying points for politics.” Newsday

Epworth Endorses Chamisa

By- Residents of Epworth in Harare on Thursday pledged their support to the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa.

The pledges were made at a rally Chamisa’s final rally before the 26 March by-elections held at Olympic Stadium, Epworth.

Thousands of people attended the rally despite being staged at short notice after the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) had initially issued a prohibition order, blocking the rally.

Police later cleared the rally on Thursday mid-morning after CCC lawyers had challenged the ban in court.
Addressing his supporters, Chamisa described the by-elections as crucial and implored Epworth residents to vote for his party in their numbers.
Five candidates are vying for the Epworth National Assembly seat. These are Earthrage Kureva (CCC), Hazvineyi Makari (ZANU PF), Zivai Mhetu (MDC Alliance), Richard Musiyadzaanikwa (LEAD) and Innocent Hazvina (Independent).

Mnangagwa Threatens NGOs

By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has threatened to expel Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) from Zimbabwe saying they have lost their mandate.

Addressing delegates at a Zanu PF campaign rally at St Mary’s in Chitungwiza on Wednesday, Mnangagwa said NGOs that defy his government’s policies will be chased out of the country.

This comes at a time his administration is in the middle of enacting a highly contentious Private Voluntary Organisations which will regulate the operations of NGOs in the country.

“Non-governmental organisations in this country who do not follow our mandate, I will chase them away from this country,” Mnangagwa said.

He added:

They must just do what they profess, what they declared they want to do in this country, this country can do without them.”

The PVO bill has provisions that seek to criminalise the work of non-governmental organisations by proposing harsh penalties, including jail time of up to one year for perceived offenses.

The bill also gives the government and the minister responsible for CSOs and trusts, excessive powers which will enable them to interfere with the operations of these bodies giving it the potential to disrupt non-governmental organisations, NGOs activities and financing.

NGOs will be required to submit their plans and work to the government, a move critics said would limit their operations.

Red Devils Set Eyes On Ajax Mentor

Manchester United have interviewed Ajax’s highly rated coach Erik ten Hag for their vacant head coach’s job.

United are looking for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s replacement ahead of the new season. Ralf Rangnick, who has been doing the job on an interim basis, will take up an administrative position at the end of the campaign.

According to The Sun newspaper, the Red Devils’ board has been impressed with the 52-year-old’s style of play while they also believe he can help attract players and keep some of those whose future is up in the air.

Ten Hag has long been one of the frontrunners, though he faced significant competition from Mauricio Pochettino while Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel also emerged as a potential option recently.

Other coaches that has been linked with top post at Old Trafford are Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui and Spain coach Luis Enrique, although the likelihood of him agreeing to take a club job before the World Cup later this year is thought to be slim.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Implications Of Robert Mugabe Return

By Lenin Ndebele

Robert Mugabe Junior is on his way into the party….certainly one faction in the party is dead worried about this. It might get worse one day when Bona throws in her hat.

One thing certain within Zanu PF is that no one is bigger than the party. A friend told me “If you wanna fight against or for Zanu PF as a member or former member, be as close to it as you can be.”
Kasukuwere is busy on the parameter fence, he says one thing today and the other tomorrow. But the one constant is that “he’s plotting a comeback.”

So the Robert Mugabe junior issue must be a cause of concern for the leadership. A man’s father dies in misery after you take away power from him and then think he’s gonna be fine sitting with you on the same table?

This could be one of many things to surprise us before the Zanu PF elective congress at the end of 2023.
Zanu PF is a tricky beast. It’s proven in the past that it goes beyond personalities.

Ndabaningile Sithole the founder was pushed out it survived.
Hebert Chitepo was assassinated in 1975 it lived on.

The late Edgar “Two Boy” Tekere the second and LAST Secretary-General was frustrated left to form ZUM, it lived and he came back in 2006 and was told “You will not exercise your right to be elected to any office in the party for five years. You will be required to uphold all the duties of a member listed in Article 3, Section 18 of the amended Zanu PF constitution” he left again.

At one time Joice Mujuru was a key player in the party, she left and the beat went on.

Emmerson Mnangagwa was fired, nothing stopped the party from evolving, and finally, it went for the head of the Tormentor In Chief Robert Mugabe.

All along, it seemed like Bob was really in charge of his Wailers until a “Peter Tosh” decided to take him out. This led to a big Generation 40 casualty but the G40 chaps too are equally capable and probably as the youngest bloc understand that in history “Zanu evolves” and hence they are still in the game.

Robert Junior’s arrival can be interpreted in many ways from protecting his family wealth to finding his own footing but the most interesting take is what his closeness to power now means for Zanu PF and its factional evolution.

The MDC died with Tsvangirai.

That shows you how much of an institution Zanu PF is despite many leadership coups and twists. CCC should translate their euphoric movement into a strong institution and that will easily make sure Zanu PF is kept away from power for many more years to come.

Is ZEC Statement Convincing?

RESPONSE BY THE ZIMBABWE ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO VARIOUS ALLEGATIONS RAISED ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE 26TH OF MARCH 2022 NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND LOCAL AUTHORITY BY-ELECTIONS
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission wishes to respond and to set the record straight on various allegations that have been made against it by certain stakeholders regarding its mandate and other issues related to the 26th of March 2022 National and Local Authority by-elections.

The Commission is concerned that some stakeholders have gone on an overdrive to peddle misinformation and falsehoods in order to scuttle the smooth conduct of the by-election concerned.

Contrary to allegations that have been extensively reported both in some of the print media and the social media the correct state of affairs is as follows:

  1. Changing of Party Symbols

The Commission categorically denies changing any symbol of any political party and wishes to advise all stakeholders concerned to dismiss these assertions with the contempt they deserve.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has always printed party symbols and pictures of candidates on ballot papers for elections in black and white.

All candidates have always been treated the same with no exception. This is done to ensure fairness to all and that no candidate is prejudiced or given an unfair advantage over others.

As already stated before, there is no law that obliges the Commission to print ballot papers or party symbols or candidate pictures in colours that correspond to contesting candidates or parties.

In conducting elections, the Commission is guided by a given legal framework and not by logic. The Commission is not averse to any changes in the law that will accommodate their concerns but it would be quick to remind them that they are the responsible parties for the enactment of laws in this country through their representatives in Parliament.

They are therefore encouraged to use the correct channel in so doing and not to allot blame where it should not be simply because certain legal positions do not satisfy their expectations.

Currently, the law only obliges the Commission to distinguish the colour of ballot papers where two elections coincide in line with Section 5 of the Electoral Regulations, 2005, SI 21 of 2005 and this has been the practice all along.

The assertion that ZEC has changed a political party symbol is therefore false and misleading.

  1. The Voters Roll
The voters roll that will be in use during the forthcoming National Assembly and local authority by-elections scheduled for the 26th of March 2022 are those that closed in line with the provisions of Sections 26A and 121A(3) of the Electoral Act [chapter 2:13].

The voters’ rolls for the National Assembly by-elections closed on the 8th of January 2022 in line with the Presidential Proclamation No. 1 of 2022 while the closure for local authorities’ voters rolls varied depending on as and when the vacancies for the respective wards arose in line with the stated provisions.

For the avoidance of doubt and to clear the matter once and for all regarding the issue raised by a certain candidate and which has been extensively discussed on social media, the Commission confirms that she is a registered voter and this has already been communicated to her.

However, the Commission is still awaiting her submission of the voters roll allegedly furnished to her by the Commission wherein her name is missing. Despite numerous requests made to her, nothing has been furnished.

  1. Alleged stringent requirements for Polling Agents
The Commission has indeed received a complaint from a stakeholder that it has received information to the effect that it will be recording names of polling agents for the purposes of contact tracing in the event of COVID-19 cases and that it has barred the bringing of cellphones, pens, notebooks and torch cells in the polling stations by polling agents.

The Commission wishes to place it on record that indeed names of people visiting or deployed at the polling stations will be recorded.

However, such recording will not be restricted to polling agents only but to every person who visits the polling station for whatever reason.

This is to enable contact tracing in the event of any detected cases of COVID-19 pandemic and the Commission has enlisted the help of the Red Cross Society of Zimbabwe and other qualified health personnel to assist in that endeavour.

Further, it is also important for the public to know that all polling officials, visitors, observers and polling agents are always recorded in the protocol register during polls and this has been the practice even prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With regards to the second allegation, the Commission has written back to the stakeholder concerned indicating its ignorance of the source of the instructions it purportedly issued.

The stakeholder concerned has failed to disclose the source of its information and the Commission has also verified with its respective offices which have indicated that no such instructions were ever issued.

The prohibition of the use of cellphones in the actual polling station has always been a standing procedure as this may lead to disruptive activity in the polling station if not controlled.

However, agents or other electoral officials are not prohibited from using their gadgets outside the polling station.

  1. Alleged Ballot Box in the hands of ZRP St Peters in Murewa South
There is also a story doing rounds concerning an alleged ballot box that is now in the hands of the ZRP St Peters in Murewa South. We urge the Zimbabwean public to ignore the story.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission does not use such ballot boxes for election purposes. The country has been using translucent ballot boxes since 2008.

Those who have voted since 2008 are now familiar with the ballot boxes that are being used for purposes of elections in this country. We urge the public not to view the story seriously.

It is critical for stakeholders to disseminate accurate and correct information to their supporters. Collectively, we are all nation builders and it is critical to exercise responsibility in whatever we do.

It is in the national interest for all stakeholders to promote a conducive political environment that will result in peaceful electoral processes.

Harare Hotel Nude Drama Takes A New Twist

By- The Harare hotel where a naked woman was recorded while being chased down the corridors by another woman has summoned parties involved in the drama for a hearing.

It has been revealed the hotel management invited the man, who is at the centre of the drama, and the other parties, to discuss the matter, whose video has gone viral on social media.
The incident has caught social media by storm. H Metro also got to know the details of how the drama unfolded.
The case has also seen NASH Paints marketing and communications manager, Tarisai Milner Makumbirofa, being mistakenly identified as the naked woman who was being chased in the video.
There was relief for her yesterday after cameras at the hotel proved she was nowhere near the premises on the day of the fracas.
“The cameras at the hotel have proved that it’s not me in the video,” she told H-Metro.
“So, I asked if they could give a statement to clear my name and they said they have to sit down and talk with the public relations manager. “But, they confirmed knowledge of the case.”
A Facebook page, owned by Queen Cronje, also apologised for posting Tarie’s pictures and claiming she was the one in the video.
“I deeply regret posting your pictures yesterday Tarie Milner Bolts hausiriwe mukadzi akamhanya asina kupfeka,” said the administrator of the page.
“I have taken it off but some people must have read it already. “I sincerely apologise for this, I know it’s hurtful to you and irresponsible on my part to do so.
“I am sorry.”
Initially the page had posted: “Ndivo vekumhanyiswa paCresta Lodge vasina kupfeka apa she is married, Tarie Bolts, and ndi marketing and communication manager kuNash Paints.”
H-Metro was also briefed about how the drama unfolded.
“It is reported that they followed the husband, who was with his girlfriend, to the hotel,” a source told H-Metro.
“The woman went with her friends to the premises and, upon arriving at the reception, they lied that they were with the man (name withheld) and they wanted some keys, which he had in his room.
“So, they were given the room number and, on arrival at the door, they pretended to be room service providers.
“The woman in the video opened the door, while she was wrapped in a towel.
“An altercation ensued and the ladies wanted to record a video of the woman, while she was still in the room.
“So, she noticed the move and quickly forced her way out before one of the friends took off her towel, prompting her to run naked.
“The one chasing and the one taking the video are friends to the wife, (name withheld).
The woman remained in the room where she was confronting her husband. “The woman in the video is alleged to have been invited by her lover to Zimbabwe from Zambia.”
Another source narrated how the woman got to know about her husband’s shenanigans.
“The wife’s little sister ndiyo yakafonera the wife kuti huya aona mota yabamukuru parked at the hotel.” H Metro

Mthwakazi Rubbishes Mnangagwa Death Threats

By- The Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) has responded to the threats made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa against secessionist movements that are pushing for the creation of a Mthwakazi Republic in Zimbabwe.

Addressing Zanu PF supporters at a campaign rally in Chitungwiza on Wednesday, Mnangagwa warned those pushing for the creation of a breakaway state in southwestern Zimbabwe that their lives will be shortened.

He singled out the Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP), one of several other pressure groups in the region which share the secessionist agenda of the movement.
Responding to the threats, MRP described Mnangagwa as a criminal who should be hauled before the International Court of Justice, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations (UN). The party said on its Twitter page:
The threat to Mthwakazi people’s restoration Movements by Emmerson Mnangagwa in his rally today at Chitungwiza is a travesty of Justice!
He, Mnangagwa is a criminal, not our people. Mthwakazi will be free at last.
The cries of the victims of Gukurahundi for Justice are confusing this president of Zimbabwe. His portion is at The Hague.
People in southwestern Zimbabwe complain of alleged marginalisation which they say include deliberate exclusion from the economic system and lack of equal opportunity in various areas as well unresolved issues around the Gukurahundi killings.

Zanu PF Sets Elective Congress Dates

By- Zanu PF has announced that it will conduct its elective Congress in October this year ahead of presidential, parliamentary and local government elections set for 2023.

This was announced by Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is the party’s First Secretary while speaking at the 361st Politburo session on Thursday afternoon.
He said:
As we convene at this session, it is also important that we remain alive to the fact that, this is the year our party is holding our elective conferences of the Women and Youth Leagues as well as the party Congress scheduled for October 2022.

Mnangagwa Denounces Mthwakazi

By- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has rubbished demands by Matabeleland people to have their own state.

Mnangagwa rubbished the Mthwakazi while addressing Zanu PF supporters at a campaign rally in St Mary’s, Chitungwiza Wednesday:

We liberated the country through war. Some men and women perished. We said we would work with chiefs and when you see a chief supporting the opposition, that chief should do a cleansing ceremony and ask his ancestors why they would have forsaken him.

According to Chapter 15 of the Constitution, chiefs are not allowed to engage in partisan politics. It says, “traditional leaders must not be members of any political party or in any way participate in partisan politics, act in a partisan manner, further the interests of any political party or cause or violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of any person”.

Mnangagwa also warned the electorate that the Central Government will ignore constituencies that vote for the opposition. He said:

If you want the government to listen to your concerns and address them, you will have to send them via channels that we recognise and not through the opposition.

Here is the opportunity to vote for people who submit your concerns to the leaders.

You hear the young boy (Chamisa) saying if I win, he will make this country ungovernable.

Let us make sure he won’t get into government.

He also reiterated that Zimbabwe will remain a unitary State and secessionists will not succeed. He said:

There are some Mthwakazi (members) who say they want Zimbabwe to be divided.

It can’t be led by people who get advice from whites.

“Let Brotherly Love Continue”

Sabbath School Summary
By Elder Dr Masimba Mavazq

Lesson 13

Memory Text: “Let brotherly love continue” (Hebrews 13:1).

INTRODUCTION

Hebrews 13 presents the apostle’s concluding admonition: “Let brotherly love continue” (Heb. 13:1). He has affirmed through-out the epistle that we are of the household of the King-High Priest, Jesus, His brothers and sisters. The author does not conceive of the audience only as a group of individuals who work on their salvation in a one-on-one relationship with Jesus, but as a family, or household, saved together.

Paul has characterized the work of Jesus for us as “brotherly love”: He was “not ashamed to call them brothers” (Heb. 2:11, ESV). Thus, believers should do for one another what Jesus did for them.

Throughout the letter, brotherly love involved “exhorting one another” so that no one would fall short of the grace of God (Heb. 3:13; Heb. 10:24, 25; Heb. 12:15-17). In chapter 13 it involves numerous elements: hospitality (Heb. 13:2), visiting and supporting prisoners and those who have been mistreated (Heb. 13:3), honoring marriage (Heb. 13:4), avoiding covetousness (Heb. 13:5, 6), remembering and obeying the leaders of the church (Heb. 13:7-17), and praying for the author himself (Heb. 13:18, 19).

SABBATH: We are a little band of brothers & sisters in the family of Christ. He’s the author of Love. He called us brothers & we’re to copy Him (Heb. 2:11, 13:1). Paul sums up “brotherly love” as “exhorting one another” (see Heb. 3:13; 10:24, 25; 12:15-17), hospitality, helping prisoners & the weak, honoring marriage, not coveting, obeying leaders, & praying for others (Heb. 13:2-19). Be firmly bound in love!

SUNDAY: A lover of hospitality may entertain angels unknowingly. The visit of angels to Abraham & Sarah was prompted by hospitality (Gen. 18:2-15). We have the solemn duty to care for others & not to neglect them (Heb. 13:1, 2; Rom. 12:13; 1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 1:8). Christ gave all He had, even His life to & for us (Heb. 2:10-18). We ought to care for the physical & spiritual needs of all (Heb. 10:32-34, 11:25, 13:3).

MONDAY: The marriage bed must be kept undefiled. Covetousness & sexual immorality is a dire threat to brotherly love (Heb. 13:4, 5; Luke 16:10-18; 1 Cor. 5:1; Eph. 5:3-5, & Col. 3:5). Breaking the marriage oath & unwarranted divorces do not honor marriage (1 Cor. 5:9-11; 6:9, 10; Eph. 5:5; 1 Tim. 1:9, 10; Rev. 21:8; 22:15). Society shouldn’t dictate sexual ethics but God (1 Tim. 6:10, 2 Cor. 9:8, Phil. 4:11, 12).

TUESDAY: Paul contends that the pioneers who instituted the early church & ministered to His readers are worthy of emulation. Their good acts & words were to be kept fresh in the mind (Heb. 13:7-17). He lists these church builders in the company of the heroes of faith. They’re not false guides but those who care for them. Their great was Shepherd Jesus (1 Pet. 5:1-4, 1 Cor. 3:10-15, Heb. 13:8, 9, 20).

WEDNESDAY: Satan seeks for a soil in which he can sow his tares through false teachers. Paul warns his readers to beware of diverse & strange doctrines (Heb. 13:9; 2:9; 4:16; 6:19, 20). The “foods/meat” alludes to ritual meals & animal sacrifices in the sanctuary service. The cross of Christ is better; an altar from which we can eat & His grace holds our faith (Heb. 13:10, 8:4, 5; 10:1-18, John 6:47-58).

THURSDAY: Jesus suffered shame & reproach. He was nailed on the cross “outside” Jerusalem (Heb. 13:10-14, Mark 8:34, Matt. 10:38, Luke 14:27, Gal. 2:20). The place “outside” the gate of the camp of Israel was deemed impure (Lev. 4:12, 13:46, 24:10-16, 23; 1 Kings 21:13; Acts 7:58, Num. 5:3, Deut. 23:14). Paul bid us to follow Christ “outside” the gate like Moses (Heb. 12:2, 11:26, 13:13, Exod. 32).

FRIDAY: After the full auction of the Holy Spirit, believers rejoiced in sweetness of their communion. They were more tender, selfless, & thoughtful. They had love for one another as Christ loved them. But at a point they began finding faults in others. They became strict with rituals & theory than practising faith. Brotherly love was lost! John in his last epistles wrote about the need for [God’s] brotherly love.

—Ellen G. White, The Acts of the Apostles, pp. 547, 548.

Good Concepts without Good Leaders – A Case of Zanu pf

By Pupurai Begede | It will be fatal for a nation to have good and sound policies yet lacking the people who are willing to implement them. For many years Zimbabwe has enjoyed sound talk but nothing ever materialized from these fine-tuned sound talks. A party that cannot put its workers to task or at least to be accountable for their actions is as dead as a big ship that cannot carry its voyagers to destination.

The question is not about capacity or past journeys but carrying passengers to the intended destinations. The reason why this generation might in protest choose to vote against Zanu pf is because the big ship is grounded. It is lacking ingenuity, functioning operators and engineers who can make the engines propel and move forward.

This message will hurt someone if treated like a threat to a nation’s sovereignty but if treated with vigilance and intelligence will see the importance of bringing in new blood to change the status co. It is not occupation of space like matter that is important but movement and satisfaction being the primary result.

Black empowerment is the best wording for the time. It is a scientific and prophetic word for this generation but it lacks the connections that interchangeably function for the good of the ordinary people. The game is not to see a few sharing the cake but the larger part of the population benefiting from it.

Our people need resources to function, they need freedom and independence in business opinion backed by Government financial support. Black empowerment means alleviating poverty from the grassroots and it is not for politicians to secure their future possessions through massive looting of known national resources.

It is time leaders should legislate laws that prohibits Government officials (and their affiliates) not to participate in bidding of Government tenders in order to promote Black empowerment. The moment politicians are involved in bidding for tenders and being beneficiaries of farm land they will use political muscles to get everything yet they should be caretakers.

It will be naivety to ignore the possibility of CCC party romping into victory come 2023. This party is thriving on Zanu pf’s ignorance. If I were to advise CCC party I would suggest the following;

1. Blending their Development concept with Black empowerment concept.
2. Blend their Foreign Investors policy with protection of National resources which should benefit mainly the indigenous people.
3. Relinquish all their farms as leaders and leave to the willing public investors for efficient monitoring and implementation of a farming program that benefit the Indigenous farmers.
4. Create a policy framework that protects entrepreneurs from foreigners.

However Zanu pf by sticking rightfully to Black Empowerment and practicing and implementating it faithfully will win any election without intimidating anyone.

Latest On Nakamba Fitness

Marvelous Nakamba could feature for some minutes next week with Aston Villa’s Under-23 team as the midfielders continues to work on his fitness.

The Zimbabwean has, for the past few days, been training with the development team after recovering from knee injury suffered in December.

The 28-year-old torn his medial collateral ligament (MCL) and had to undergo surgery to treat it.

He started light work-outs early this month and will continue improving his fitness levels ahead of his scheduled return to the senior team after the ongoing international break.

But before that, Nakamba will be expected to play for Villa’s Under-23s against Stoke City at Villa Park on Friday, April 1. Kick-off is at 8 pm CAT.

This means the Zimbabwean is now likely to miss the EPL clash against Wolves and be available for Villa’s match with Spurs a week later.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Is Robert Mugabe A Foe Or Friend Of Emmerson Mnangagwa?

“If You Don’t Vote Zanu, You Will Be Left Out”

By A Correspondent- Zanu-PF Harare provincial chairperson Godwills Masimirembwa has unwittingly disclosed that the ongoing vetting exercise for war collaborators is a vote-buying gimmick.

Addressing a campaign rally in Glen Norah B on Tuesday, Masimirembwa said: “If over 200 000 war collaborators and cadres are getting vetted and soon will start earning their pensions and their children get their school fees paid, ask yourself how many votes would that be for Zanu-PF before we even go to vote we already have over 600 000 votes just from war collaborators going to (President Emmerson) Mnangagwa.”

“If you vote for Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) you would have voted for people who are not ruling and will never rule because Zanu-PF will rule until donkeys grow horns,” he said.

The country on Saturday will hold by-elections to fill 28 parliamentary and 105 local authority seats following the recall of MDC Alliance legislators and councillors.

“When you are walking you should walk with the winning team and not those that lose. Zanu-PF will never be removed from power. Look at how good (President Emmerson) Mnangagwa is, war veterans and ex-detainees for 42 years who had not been vetted will now be vetted,” Masimirembwa said.

Speaking at the same event, Destiny for Africa Network leader Obadiah Musindo said people who did not vote for Zanu-PF risked being left out of government-funded projects.

“If you do not vote for Zanu-PF,  you will be taken as people who do not like the government, so you will be excluded from all projects that have anything to do with Zanu-PF,” he said.

Prophet Fined For Parading “Witches”

By A Correspondent- A 35-year-old Domboshava self-proclaimed prophet was on Sunday fined three beasts by a Community Court for parading eight people naked, in front of villagers.

Madzibaba Renjidai, born Lovemore Kasambarare, appeared before Chief Chanhamora’s court after he paraded nude people to villagers at Munondo Village.

Madzibaba Renjidai accused his victims of dabbling in witchcraft but the chief asserted that it was taboo in his area to expose naked people in public.

In his judgement, Chief Chinamhora warned Madzibaba Renjidai over his shenanigans saying his conduct divides families. Said the chief:

Zvawakaita zvekupfekenura vanhu mbatya ndiko kupfekenura dunhu, wakapfekenura mambo uye wakapfekenura sabhuku. (What you did, undressing people in public, is akin to undressing the land. You undressed the chief and you also undressed the village head).

We do not want people who operate without the knowledge of our traditional leaders as well as conduct prayers, or cleansing ceremonies, which seek to divide families.

From the evidence given by one of the minor victims, Madzibaba Renjidai forced his victims to undress at knifepoint, before locking their clothes in your room.

You went on to invite villagers to view all the eight naked people, for the better part of the day.

Such misconduct is taboo, according to our traditional values and culture and, this has never happened in this area within my jurisdiction.

By undressing the kraal head’s wife, you were undressing her husband who gave you a place to live with your family.

You exposed our land, Ndicho chinonzi chisiwonekwe kana kuti chipini ichocho. (taboo).

I do not confirm nor deny that there is witchcraft.

I do not know how your claimed spiritual powers operate but let me encourage you to learn to control your spirit so that it is not tempted to assault people as a punishment.

I want to believe that this was your first time to do such misconduct and you will not do the same thing again.

If I may take this opportunity to urge village heads to look out for people, who operate under the name of healing, to report them to police as well as bring them before our traditional court.

We want to promote unity and peace among villagers.

JUST IN: Police Backtracks On CCC Epworth Rally

By A Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Republic Police has succumbed to pressure and cleared the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) rally in Epworth today.

According to a police letter to CCC official Patrick Moyo, they are supposed to have adequate marshals and not to deviate from the set times.

CCC leader Nelson Chamisa has since taken to social media to announce that their Epworth rally is back on course after they went to court to fight the ban.

“WE’RE IN EPWORTH THIS AFTERNOON FOR OUR FINAL BY-ELECTION RALLY… Our lawyers went to court to fight the ban.. I’m told the police are no longer opposing the holding of the rally. We’re unstoppable!!!” said Chamisa.

Khupe Rejected By CCC Bulawayo

The leading opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Bulawayo province has refused to work with MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe after she offered to rally behind Nelson Chamisa’s candidates in the weekend by-elections and 2023 polls.

Khupe made the announcement at a Press conference in Bulawayo on Monday.

The province said Khupe’s previous association with Zanu PF leader President Emmerson Mnangagwa made it difficult for them to trust her.

The development is threatening to divide the party, after the CCC national leadership embraced Khupe.

The party leadership also pointed out that the party was new and leadership positions would be decided by citizens.

CCC Bulawayo spokesperson Swithern Chirowodza said “if Zanla freedom fighters did not accommodate Morris Nyathi who was accused of selling out the liberation struggle, why should CCC entertain Khupe?”

On August 9, 1976, Rhodesian Selous Scouts aided by former Zanla commander Nyathi attacked a Zanla camp at Nyadzonia in Mozambique, killing hundreds of Zimbabwean political refugees.

“There is no need for diplomatic talk with an enemy. We will call a spade a spade. Zulu king Tshaka, a victorious military general, taught his warriors never to forgive an injured enemy lest the enemy heals, gathers courage and jumps to slit your throat,” Chirowodza said.

“We are Bulawayo, the headquarters of Matabeleland. We will not accept to be led by a person who run Mnangagwa’s schemes. The ink has not dried on the paper on which she wrote to two senators in the United States pleading with them to lift sanctions. This is the same Mnangagwa who was the State Security minister during the Gukurahundi era.”

“This is the same Mnangagwa who was commander-in-chief of the army (Zimbabwe Defence Forces) that shot and killed six Zimbabweans on August 1, 2018. We will not drink with Khupe. She is political poison,” Chirowodza said.

Khupe said her decision to support Chamisa emanated from talks between the two parties. Recently, she was seen posing for pictures with CCC interim vice-president Welshman Ncube and member Abednico Bhebhe.

In 2018, opposition supporters accused Khupe of dividing the opposition vote, scuttling Chamisa’s chances of winning the presidential elections. She garnered around 45 000 votes.

Her decision to rally behind Chamisa came a few months after she was fired from the MDC Alliance by Douglas Mwonzora where she was vice-president. She then declared herself leader of the MDC-T. – Newsday

Two Years Of Hell For Chimbiri, Mamombe and Marova*
By Stephen Sarkozy Chuma

Abducted from a police station, tortured, brutally assaulted physically and sexually, dumped at Muchapondwa shops, arrested in hospital beds, sent to Chikurubi Maximum Prison and in and out of court for two years!

That is the tears dropping story of Cecillia Chimbiri, Joana Mamombe and Netsai Marova – the three young female leaders of CCC who have seen all kinds of abuse from Emmerson Mnangagwa’s fascist regime.

Today, the 24th of March 2022, Mamombe and Chimbiri will be back in the dock in Court 14 at Rotten Row Magistrate Courts in Harare for continuation of a strange trial that kicked started on the 15th of March. Yes strange, in the sense that the victims will be standing in the accused’s dock while the perpetrators, the state will be on the witnesses’ stand.

Such is the kind hyena justice inside Mnangagwa’s Second Republic!

Next month will mark exactly 2 years of torture and torment of our brave female cadres since that fateful day when the were abducted from police custody.

They have been nailed by the police! Crucified by state institutions like Potraz, ZBC and The Herald! The loose-mouthed nurse cum government spokesman, Nick Mangwana has already hanged them!

Will the courts hang them too?

The general sentiment among the public is that our courts are captured. The courts therefore have a big decision to make. Either to further drag its image down the mud together with Mnangagwa’s soiled image or repair its tattered image in the court of public opinion.

From the French Revolution to the First Chimurenga, women have always been involved or played a pivotal role in popular protests in removing dictators.

If this horrendous abuse of Chimbiri, Mamombe and Marova can not move you as a citizen, then what will move you?

President Nelson has already set the pace by declaring this year as a year of Citizens Action for Change. Today calls for Citizens Action – fill up Rotten Row’s Court 14 in solidarity with our girls.

Passport Office To Open Saturdays

By A Correspondent- The Civil Registry Department has said its Harare passport office will be open on Saturdays to cater for people applying for the newly-introduced electronic passport (e-passport).

In a statement, the Department said the operating hours will be between 8 AM and 3 PM.

The Civil Registry Department wishes to advise its valued clients and stakeholders that the Harare Passport Office will now be open on Saturdays to assist all persons applying for the e-passport. The operating hours will be between 0800hours and 1500hours.

The window has been specifically opened for the convenience of persons applying for the e-passport only and not any other national documents, which will ordinarily be issued during the normal weekday operating times.

As the department continues to devise strategies to enhance service delivery, we anticipate that these extended operating hours will tremendously facilitate efficient e-passport services in response to the high demand for the e-passport.

The department, therefore, urges citizens to take advantage of the extended operating hours to apply for their passports.

The department reaffirms its commitment to improving service delivery through the issuance of vital registration and travel documents for the benefit of all citizens.

The nation will be kept abreast of any specific developments and modalities regarding the rollout of this exercise.-statemedia

Gvt Disowns Teachers’ Yellow Ban Circular

By A Correspondent- The Ministry of Primary Secondary Education says it has nothing to do with an alleged instruction to school heads and teachers that yellow colours were now banned in schools.

Teachers’ unions said they were inundated with messages from members claiming they were verbally instructed to avoid wearing yellow during working hours.

The president of the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) Takafavira Zhou confirmed receiving the reports. He said:

Teachers across the country are reporting that the matter was discussed but we haven’t received a formal communication ourselves.

In fact, there are some schools that are being told to change their uniforms. In case someone is planning to put it into writing, we say this decree is a  nullity, schools cannot change uniforms on the basis that a new political party wears the same colour.

What came first the school uniform or CCC? The law doesn’t operate in retrospection.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson Taungana Ndoro as saying they have not issued such a directive. Said Ndoro:

That has nothing to do with the government, we have nothing to do with colour, yellow, red or whatever we only know CALA (Continuous Assessment Learning Activity) and our mandate is to provide quality education in the country. It is just that somebody got over-excited.

Compensate Pfugari To Save Us From Impending Eviction, Whitecliff Residents Tell Govt

By A Correspondent| Emelda Karenga sits on the doorstep of her makeshift house pondering her next move.

She is sombrely thinking about the uncertainty and calamity that is about to befall.

“I don’t know what to do. I have four children and I don’t know where to go with them,” she said wetting her eyes, adding that “this has been my home for the last sixteen years.

Just a stone throw away, Jasper Mugoni is tendering his maize field.

“This could be my last year farming in this field. Actually, this might be my last crop,” he said with resignation written all over his furrowed face.

Karenga and Mugoni are just two of several families that are going to be evicted after High Court ruled that they have illegally settled on a land belonging to Pfugari Properties in Whitecliff.

The Zimbabwe government had promised to compensate the property developer but reneged on its promise.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga promised Whitecliff Residents that no one was going to be evicted while campaigning in 2018.

“We are in talks with the private land owner and no one is going to be evicted,” Chiwenga said amid applause at a rally in 2018.

However, talks have stalled and Pfugari Properties have activated the writ of execution.

Councillor Luckson Maronga pleaded with government to compensate the land developer.

“As local leadership, we can not blame Pfugari because it’s their land. There is no land for free in Zimbabwe.

“Government is the one that settled people here and should compensate Pfugari,” he said.

The evictions and probably demolitions comes at a time people have already built properties; they want to safeguard their assets.

Outgoing ZEC Spokesperson Laments State Media’s Partisan Coverage

By A Correspondent- Outgoing Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) spokesperson Joyce Kazembe has expressed concern over the partisan coverage of the upcoming by-elections by State media.

Kazembe implored State media to provide equal coverage of political parties and candidates during elections. She said:

The public media is supposed to cover everybody fairly and so we expect the State media to come up with a schedule that allocates equal time to all the political parties taking part in the elections and to the individuals running for office too.

Everybody should be allocated space so that they can inform the rest of their intentions.

Those that feel that they want more space can then pay extra for that.

We have noticed that there is partisan coverage in some media and there is more coverage of the ruling party.

The excuse they give us is, this is the head of the State and they are in government and they are updating the population about what they should expect on development projects.

Kazembe also said ZEC has written to State media organisations and urged them to ensure that they give equal coverage to all political parties.

She made the comments on Tuesday while contributing to the debate on the topic “Media, Elections and Access to Information” hosted by the National Movement of Catholic Students in Zimbabwe.-newsday

Mnangagwa Threatens Chamisa Supporting Chiefs

By- President Emmerson Mnangagwa said any chiefs suspected of supporting opposition political parties would lose their positions.

Mnangagwa said this while addressing Zanu PF supporters at a campaign rally in St Mary’s, Chitungwiza:

It can’t be led by people who get advice from whites.

Zanu PF Blocks Prisoners From Voting

By- Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi said people serving prison terms had no voting rights.

Responding to questions from journalists at a recent post cabinet briefing Ziyambi said:

Coming to the question on prisoners’ privilege to vote, Honourable Chair, once you become prisoner certain rights no longer accrue to you.

And within our current laws our prisoners do not have the right to vote, so if you want the right to vote don’t commit a crime.

Meanwhile, Cabinet on Tuesday approved the principles of the Prisons and Correctional Services Bill that had been presented by Ziyambi.

Speaking at the same post-Cabinet media briefing, Ziyambi said the proposed changes will enable the government to establish open prisons for pregnant women and for infants. Said Ziyambi:

In the new Bill, we are creating several prisons or community centres that are more like open prisons and we are targeting to have certain categories for pregnant women and those with infants to go there.

So, we are coming up within the Bill several decongestion mechanisms that will cater for some of those categories that are vulnerable to ensure that they are a bit comfortable besides the fact that the budget we were given as ministry for justice, the bulk of that money is for prisons and correction services.

As Zimbabwe holds by-elections on Saturday, 26 March 2022, one thing for certain is that the thousands of people who are currently in prisons won’t vote.

Mnangagwa Buses Supporters To Chitungwiza

By- Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday bussed thousands of its supporters and paraded them in Chitungwiza.

Mnangagwa addressed thousands of people wearing Zanu PF regalia at a star rally at a school in St Mary’s on Wednesday.

The party’s national chairperson, Opppah Muchinguri-Kashiri claimed the people were not bussed but had travelled on their own accord to the rally.
However, posting on Twitter, CCC deputy chairman, Job Sikhala said Zanu PF bussed people from as far as Mutorashanga. He said:
Mnangagwa has been sold a dummy in St. Mary’s. Old women from Mutorashanga are still loitering for transport asking where Chigovanyika is as we speak to be ferried back.
Coming from work I parked my car and had a walkabout at Huruyadzo and in seconds nearly one thousand people were cheering and following me.
Earlier, Sikhala mocked former MDC officials who defected to ZANU PF saying they are being treated as fools. He said:
My advice to Blessing Chebundo, Simon Chidhakwa and crew is that, please stop being paraded like fools talking nonsense about us.
You lie around to fools in Zanu PF as if you were senior members of the party while you know you were nothing.
… What this desperate and unpopular party, ZANU PF is good at, is busing.
There are more ZUPCO buses than the people from St Mary’s who will attend their charade.
St Mary’s National Assembly Constituency is up for grabs in the 26 March by-election. The contestants are Nobert Jinjika (ZANU PF), Adam Puzo (MDC Alliance), Dickson Tarusenga (CCC) and Marcos Sanyanga (Independent).

Khupe Sent To Destroy Chamisa-Analysts

By -Political analysts have said that Nelson Chamisa’s Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) should not trust sacked MDC-T vice president Thokozani, who recently endorsed the opposition party ahead of the 26 March by-elections.

They suggested that Khupe was working with Zanu PF to infiltrate Chamisa.

Wearing CCC regalia, Khupe told a press conference on Monday in Bulawayo that she would support CCC in upcoming elections.

It was, however, not clear if Khupe had joined the party. She told reporters:

Following our previous announcement that we are going to work with like-minded opposition political parties because we are stronger together, I am therefore today announcing that we are calling on all MDC-T members and supporters to go and vote on the 26th of March for the Citizens Coalition for Change candidates across the country.

Zambia’s ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) official Joseph Kalimbwe warned CCC against giving Khupe an influential position as she will destroy the party. He said:

Let them endorse but never give them any political position. Anyone who stood in the way of the citizens and their ability to achieve victory must never be politically trusted with positions of influence. They will destroy again.

National Patriotic Front (NPF) spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire alleged that Khupe is working for ZANU PF deputy president and second secretary, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga. Said Mawarire:

You cause by-elections by recalling MPs then hold a presser to support them in their bid to go back to parliament? Only fools will take that as genuine.

Khupe is Gen’s project and sadly some top CCC leaders, not Prof Welshman, are pushing that agenda on behalf of the Gen, chatopindwa chinhu chenyu icho… (CCC has been infiltrated…).

Khupe was fired by the MDC-T after she announced a split of the party due to differences she had with the party’s president Douglas Mwonzora.

By-elections: ZEC Feels The Heat

Chamisa Exposes ZEC Planned Election Rigging

By- The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has raised a red flag against the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) after discovering that it altered his party symbols on ballot papers to be used in the 26 March by-election.

CCC also lodged a complaint to ZEC over the printing of ballot papers in black and white instead of in colour, claiming this was done deliberately to confuse voters.

CCC national secretary for elections Ian Makone wrote to ZEC chief elections officer Utoile Silaigwana on 21 March airing the opposition party’s grievances. Wrote Makone:

The CCC wishes to express its concern regarding the variation in its party symbol. The yellow background is not reflected on the party logo as witnessed by the party candidates during the ballot paper verification exercise.

The sample ballot paper is not an exact depiction of our party intent, hence a violation of our party identity.

It is in this regard that ZEC considers such concerns seriously and rectifies them as per the requirements of the law of the land.

Makone said CCC symbols had an inscribed description of a “yellow square background, circular words surrounding Chamisa’s face with letters CCC inside a black triangle”.

Addressing reporters in Harare on Tuesday, Makone said CCC wrote to ZEC on 24 February seeking clarity on the printing of ballot papers. He said:

What we wanted from them was an assurance that there is a process of consultation even at the local level and district multi-party liaison officer which enables us to proofread the specimen ballot papers.

They never got an opportunity to do that and only found that a number of our candidates could not even recognise the picture that is on the ballot paper. We need to know which voters roll will be in use on Saturday.

However, ZEC spokesperson Jasper Mangwana said they were not obliged to print ballot papers in colour. He said:

The law does not require the commission to print the photograph or symbol of the party in colour.

It is unfortunate that the party went on to educate its supporters without consulting with the commission on the contents and form of (the) ballot paper.

Madzibaba Granted Bail

By- Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Godfrey Karembera, better known as Madzibaba VeShanduko, has been granted $10 000 bail.

Fadzayi Mahere, the CCC spokesperson said Karembera remained hospitalised as he recovered from the injuries he sustained when tortured by the Police.

Karembera was brutally assaulted while in custody at Harare Central Police Station on 17 March after he was arrested in central Harare on the same day.

ZRP justified the assault of Karembera in a statement that he was “engaging in unsanctioned political activities in the Harare Central District”.
Karembera was also charged with undermining the authority of the Police for allegedly insulting the arresting officers

His assault and torture came after Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga, on 26 February this year, threatened the opposition CCC saying the ruling ZANU-PF party would “crush the party like lice”.

Mugabe Son Endorses Mnangagwa

By-On Wednesday, Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa shocked the country when he paraded the late President Robert Mugabe’s son at his party’s rally in Chitungwiza.

Mnangagwa toppled Mugabe through a military coup in November 2017.

The former ruler later died “a bitter man” nearly two years later in Singapore due to the coup.

Before his death, Mugabe reportedly instructed his close family members that he did not want to be buried at the National Heroes Acre because he didn’t want his “tormentors” to sing and preside over his funeral.
He was eventually buried at his rural home in Zvimba, in Mashonaland West Province.
However, traditional leaders have been pushing for Mugabe’s exhumation and reburial but his family is resisting the move.

ZEC Dismisses Chamisa’s Allegations

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) has dismissed misleading allegations circulating on social media platforms relating to ballot papers, voters roll and perceived stringent requirements for polling agents.

In a statement yesterday, Zec said the allegations were not only false but malicious as they have an effect of disturbing the smooth running of the by-elections set for this Saturday.

“The Commission is concerned that some stakeholders have gone on an overdrive to peddle misinformation and falsehoods in order to scuttle the smooth conduct of the by-election concerned.

Zec categorically denies changing any symbol of any political party and wishes to advise all stakeholders concerned to dismiss these assertions with the contempt they deserve,” said Zec..

It said it has always printed party symbols and pictures of candidates on ballot papers for elections in black and white and all candidates have always been treated the same with no exception.

The Commission is not averse to any changes in the law that will accommodate their concerns but it would be quick to remind them that they are the responsible parties for the enactment of laws in this country through their representatives in Parliament,” said Zec.

Regarding the voter’s roll, the Commission said the documents to be used on Saturday polls are in line with the Presidential Proclamation No. 1 of 2022 while the closure for local authorities’ voters rolls varied depending on as and when the vacancies for the respective wards arose in line with the stated provisions.

“The Commission has indeed received a complaint from a stakeholder that it has received information to the effect that it will be recording names of polling agents for the purposes of contact tracing in the event of Covid-19 cases and that it has barred the bringing of cellphones, pens, note books and torch cells in the polling stations by polling agents,” read the statement

Zec said it wishes to place it on record that indeed names of people visiting or deployed at the polling stations will be recorded.

“However, such recording will not be restricted to polling agents only but to every person who visits the polling station for whatever reason.

CIO Fraudster Nabbed

SERIAL fraudster Henessy Dube has been sentenced to six months imprisonment, wholly suspended on condition he performs 210 hours of community service at the Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court.
Dube (40) of Entumbane allegedly masqueraded as a top Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) officer and close protection for President Mnangagwa before duping Ingwebu Breweries of 375 litres of fuel and $1 200.

He was alleged to have met Ingwebu Breweries managing director Mr Dumisani Mhlanga and allegedly produced a fake CIO identity card before identifying himself as a director of operations in the CIO.

He then offered to assist the company recover money from its debtors purportedly using his influence by virtue of being in the President’s Office.

Dube was, however, acquitted of impersonating a public officer and convicted for theft, fraud and making a false statement to deceive a registration officer in violation of Section 10 (1) (b) of the National Registration Act by

Bulawayo magistrate Mr Shepherd Mjanja.

In acquitting Dube of the charge of masquerading as a CIO officer, Mr Mjanja said no tangible evidence was presented before the court by the President’s Department disowning him.

On the second count of fraud, Dube was fined $14 000 or 13 months in jail. He was given up to April 8, 2022, to pay the money.

On the third count of violation of Section 10 (1) (b) of the National Registration Act, Dube was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, of which four months were suspended for three years on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within this period.

A further four months were suspended on condition that Dube restituted $19 524,24 through the clerk of court by April 8, 2022.

The remaining 10 months were suspended on condition that he performs 350 hours of community service.

Prosecuting, Mr Milton Moyo said sometime at the beginning of May 2019 during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Dube hatched a plan and went to Ingwebu Breweries head office in Bulawayo intending to see management.

During that time, Ingwebu Breweries was facing operational challenges, some of which emanated from a failure by its debtors to honour their commitments.

“The accused person approached the company’s managing director Dumisani Mhlanga and introduced himself as the director of operations at the CIO based in Harare.

He told Mhlanga that he was in Bulawayo as part of a team of President Mnangagwa’s close security aides during the ZITF period,” Mr Moyo said.

He said Dube produced a fake CIO identity card bearing the names Majaha Julian Dube.

“The accused person indicated to the Ingwebu Breweries managing director that he had picked information pertaining to the ill-treatment of workers and war veterans by management, including the impending retrenchment of workers,” said Mr Moyo.

The court heard that Dube told Mr Mhlanga that the President was not amused and due to his misrepresentation, Mr Mhlanga was convinced and he briefed Dube on the goings on at the company, with the accused person promising to render assistance.

A few days later, Dube returned to Ingwebu Breweries and offered to use his authority to pressurise the company’s debtors, which included companies contracted on beerhall franchise, to pay their debts and management agreed.

Some debtors reportedly paid up after Dube’s intervention.

Mr Moyo said Dube further pressurised management at Ingwebu Breweries to employ his friends under the guise that they were students on attachment from the CIO.

Their contracts were signed by management and they were given tasks to spy within the company’s various departments.

It was later established that the accused person was not employed by the CIO and due to his misrepresentation, Dube benefited in the form of 375 litres of fuel allocation and $1 200 among other undisclosed benefits.

It also emerged in court that on December 7, 2012, Dube acquired a national identity card under the names Henessy Dube NR 08-682325-J-53 bearing his portrait.

On June 3, 2017, Dube allegedly took another identity card NR 08-719040-R-53 with his picture, but under the names Majaha Julian Dube.

“Checks with Registrar-General’s Office showed that the names Majaha Julian Dube and all the particulars, including the portrait belonged to his brother who is now based in South Africa and suspected to have acquired citizenship of that country,” said Mr Moyo.

He said armed with his brother’s identity card and his academic certificates, Dube applied for a teaching post in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

He was subsequently employed as a teacher and deployed in Tsholotsho in Matabeleland North under EC Number 5710690W.

He, however, unceremoniously breached the contract and absconded. Chronicle

NGO Calls For Peaceful Polls

Public officials urged community members, especially the youth to desist from political and electoral violence.

Speaking during the conflict management and peace building awareness campaigns held by the Community Tolerance Reconciliation and Development (COTRAD) in Masvingo province, traditional leaders, elected officials and COTRAD peace committee members’ expressed grave concerns over the resurgence of politically motivated human rights violations mainly perpetrated by the youth.

The Zaka district ward 19, councillor and COTRAD peace committee member Mr. Imbayarwo implored the youth to resist manipulation by politicians in furthering their party interests through intimidating, harassing and beating their political opponents.

He added that, the politicians themselves do not risk themselves by engaging in direct political violence activities but employ the youth to secure their political power through violence. Therefore, he argued that, if the youth desist from political violence automatically there will be a conducive environment for peaceful elections since the elderly politicians are not energetic to partake in violence activities.

Councillor Imbayarwo added that, the public officials should also cease to sponsor political violence but should ensure and strengthen social cohesion. He calls upon all public officials to serve their communities impartially, ensure fair distribution of aid and facilitate the execution of government programs in a nonpartisan way.

It is everyone’s responsibility to guard against the disease of violence so that Zimbabwe remains a peaceful country. COTRAD calls on the youth to abstain from all forms of political violence, encouraged them to peacefully mobilize community members to register to vote. COTRAD also urged the political party members to mobilize their support in a peaceful manner.

Section 67 of the constitution is clear that every citizen has the right join and participates in the activities of a political party of their choice and campaign freely for a political party or cause.
The general principles of the electoral code of conduct for political parties and candidates encourages all political parties and candidates and their supporters to promote democratic tolerance in which political activities take place without fear of intimidation or reprisals. political parties and their members and supporters must accept that others have the right to present their political principles and ideas in a peaceful environment without intimidation or fear of reprisal, and must respect that right.

COTRAD is currently embarking on peace building activities through community working together (Nhimbe) and peace sports tournaments in the province to spread the gospel of peace.- COTRAD Information

Why Is ZEC Concealing Voters Roll?

Tinashe Sambiri | CCC Secretary General, Chalton Hwende, was Tuesday morning bundled into a car following his meeting at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission offices where he had travelled to request audience over the voters roll and COVID regulations.

The development comes as Zimbabwe readies for the upcoming by-elections which President Constantino Chiwenga has said will put an end to a multi-party legislature.

Numerous irregularities were flagged in the days running up to today and these include duplicate entries in the database tables.

ZEC has announced that the voters roll should not be availed to the public, citing data protection concern as a reason.

Last week, the Commission announced that the voters roll will no longer be supplied outside permission from ZEC’s CEO.

“The regime is in panic mode, the voters roll should be availed to the public,” a CCC official said on Tuesday.

Mnangagwa made the offer during a campaign rally at the Saturday Siabuwa Business Centre in Binga District.

Binga is arguably one of the most underdeveloped districts in the country and the opposition has been dominant since the year 2000.

By- Top Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Godfrey Karembera, better known as Madzibaba VeShanduko, was freed on $10 000 bail on Wednesday but would remain in hospital until he recovers.

Fadzayi Mahere, the CCC spokesperson, confirmed Karembera’s freedom and said he remained hospitalised as he recovered from the injuries he sustained when tortured by the Police.

Chamisa Raises Red Flag Against ZEC

High Court Settles Apostolic Sect Land Dispute

By- The High Court has settled a land dispute between members of an apostolic church sect in Harare’s Budiriro high-density suburb.

In his judgement, Justice Jacob Manzunzu, ruled that Herbert Masenda known as Madzibaba Enock was the legitimate owner of the residential stands in question.

The land has residential stands located along Glen Eagles area in Budiriro.

Madzibaba Enock was embroiled in the land dispute with members of the Johane Masowe Chishanu Nyenyedzi Nomwe Housing Cooperative Society Limited, which wanted to evict him and others from the piece of land.
In the application for res judicata, Madzibaba Enock was cited as a defendant along with Owen Zenda, Charles Ndawana, Innocent Muguvhe, Marita Gwenzi, Sandra Madiye, Nyikadzink Chingoma, Allegation Mugumbati, Madzibaba Martin, Madzimai Lucia and City of Harare.

Johane Masowe Chishanu Nyenyedzi Nomwe Housing Cooperative Society has been longing to evict Madzibaba Enock and others from stand number 2254 being a reminder of Glen Eagles Farm, Budiriro, in particular from stand number 22509 to 22666.
Madzibaba Enock raised a special plea of res judicata at the pre-trial conference which was then referred to trial.
Justice Manzunzu in the ruling said a decision made by Justice David Mangota in September 2019 dismissing Johane Masowe eChishanu Nyenyedzi Nomwe Housing Cooperative Society’s application for eviction was right and should stand.

2 Days To Go: Prayer And Fasting Today As Proclaimed By President Chamisa

Urgent call for more CCC Election Agents in Mwenezi East: at least 100 election agents are needed

As CCC Mwenezi East ready to defend votes and CCC in Mwenezi for the first has at least one election agent per polling station at 65 polling stations

23 March 2022

Wezhira Munya

Today, it’s a prayer and fasting day as declared by President Nelson Chamisa at Masvingo provincial star rally in Rujeko A open grounds last week Sunday. Addressing at bumper crowd of around 58 000 CCC supporters President Chamisa a pastor and God-fearing , requested all CCC supporters to humble themselves in prayer and fasting seeking God’s divine intervention in the affairs of Zimbabwe. Such as peaceful by elections.

Majority CCC members in Mwenezi East fear Zanu PF members who always intimidate them. As a result, many CCC members in Mwenezi East do not want to be election agents. In the past elections, Mwenezi East opposition members were subjected to different forms of intimidation such as being beaten. This fear, has helped Zanu PF to rig elections.

Yesterday, Mwenezi East leadership unveils a list of election agents to protect votes at 65 polling stations. For the first time in the history of Mwenezi East, the opposition has managed to put at least one election agent per polling station. The election agents took heed to the advice of VP Kore, who two weeks ago addressing Rutenga rally, encouraged CCC Mwenezi East members not to be afraid but defend their votes .

In 2018 and other years opposition parties such as MDC Alliance failed to field election agents at many polling stations.

In 2022 , CCC Mwenezi East leadership has successfully mobilized around 120 election agents to protect votes at 65 polling stations. For this Mwenezi East leadership must be celebrated.

However, at 40 polling stations , CCC Mwenezi East has deployed one election agent. This is problematic in the following scenarios:.

  1. If the election agent goes to toilet, Zanu PF can stuff the ballots.
  2. If the election agents wants to eat he / she is not allowed to eat inside the polling station. If he / she goes to outside to eat, Zanu PF can stuff more votes
  3. Zanu PF and state security agents may intimidate the CCC election agent he / she may run away and Zanu PF will stuff ballot papers.
  4. On counting , CCC only election agent may be cheated by many Zanu PF election agents collaborating with ZEC officials.
  5. There are many scenarios that may lead one election agent to leave ballot papers at the mercy of Zanu PF.

Interestingly, Zanu PF has put all three election agents at all 65 polling stations in Mwenezi East.

On the other hand, Free Zimbabwe Congress party that is also contesting in Mwenezi East has no polling agents.

MDC Alliance under Mwonzora failed to field candidate in Mwenezi East.

It’s only Zanu PF and CCC in Mwenezi East that has field election agents.

Therefore Zanu PF will benefit more if CCC fails to field candidates. In previous elections Zanu PF was winning with big margins because there were no opposition agents. This time under President Chamisa CCC Mwenezi East leaders has tried to correct the anomaly.

To add more election agents the following should be done:

  1. Masvingo CCC provincial youth leadership should urgently sent fearless youth from wards and constituencies that have no by elections such as Masvingo urban wards 1, 2, 6,8, 9 and 10. Masvingo provincial youth chair and his troops must come into action.
  2. Masvingo CCC provincial leaders main wing , women assembly and national leaders such as National chairlady Mai Mugidho, national members Ms Matara, and Mwenezi East mobilizing team comprising Mr Sitemere among others should go to Mwenezi East to provide leadership.
  3. CCC fearless members from other constituencies outside Masvingo may come and be election agents in Mwenezi East.
  4. There is need of 10 cars to move around among 65 polling stations on 26th March 2022 until election results are announced.
  5. There is need to provide packed breakfast, lunch and supper to Mwenezi East election agents. So that, they don’t go to cook or buy food. Zanu PF may rig elections.

Failure to defend the votes will give Zanu PF an opportunity to rig elections.

On the other hand, Masvingo urban, Bikita, Chivi South and Chivi North have managed to field 3 election agents per polling station and this is highly commendable.

The writer is still to verify if Chiredzi North has managed to field polling agents. There is council by election in Chiredzi North.

Those who want to be election agents in Mwenezi East, kindly contact: Masvingo provincial administrator Mr Mandi Matutu, Mwenezi East member of Parliament Mr Mandizvidza and Mr Mapepa CCC Mwenezi East chief election agent.

My Son Can’t Play For Zim, Liverpool Youngster’s Dad Speaks

The father of Liverpool starlet Isaac Mabaya has all but confirmed that the youngster will not play for Zimbabwe, after boldly stating that its too complicated for his son to do so.

Mabaya (17), was born in the United Kingdom to Zimbabwean parents and is eligible to play for the Warriors.

He was last week called to the England U-18 squad but playing for the Ryan Garry-coached team will not hinder him from representing Zimbabwe at senior level in future.

It is his father David Mabaya’s sentiments which indicate that the versatile youngster will not turn out for the Warriors.

“We have realized that its too complicated for him to play for Zimbabwe, with passports etc, its a hustle,” he told The Herald.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Mavaza Says: CCC Is A Generic Cry Baby

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | The hyper-emotional reactions to CCC rallies which are either suspended or cancelled for safety reasons occasioned much commentary about the state of Zimbabwe’s millennials.

Any action by the police has made the CCC run to the SADC or to the West crying yellow tears. Such cry babies.
These are the same people who have applied all dishonest means to try to remove Zanu-PF by crying to the West that they are persecuted.
Trust in the opposition seems to be in short supply.
Reality placed opposition politicians at the bottom of the list when it comes to professional honesty.
We have noted that voters appreciate honesty in the people that represent them. It seems strange then, that they end up voting seemingly dishonest politicians into office.
The potential for elections to select honest leaders ultimately depends on the quality of the candidates in the electoral race. So the idea that less honest people are more likely to stand as candidates for political office could provide an explanation.
It is sad that in the past decade or so urban voters voted for those who are more willing to renege on their campaign promises and thus all towns are more likely to be led by the dishonest criminals. This is mistake never to be repeated again.
The loud cries about violence by the CCC are baseless. Firstly we must all agree that violence must never be tolerated at any cost. But CCC should be the last ones to cry violence each time they do not make numbers at a rally.
CCC whatever name they use today was born on the back of violence. It practices violence within and it attracts violence outside. Then they use it to blame each other, when they use it against their own they then run on top of the roof blaming ZANU PF for their own violence.
CCC has always been using violence to destroy itself. We must never be selective in condemning violence. Violence is violence and must never be accepted.
CCC must be reminded that
Politics is a dirty game that is played by men in clean suites. By this we mean it is a science of stealth, maneuver , out-pacing, out-witing and outlasting your opponent. If the opponent is outsmarted he should not pull the victim card.
Politics is not played as a beauty contest. Neither is its product fashioned in an exhotic path in the garden of roses. Politics is immensely hard, rough and tough. It is often played in treacherous terrain and in slippery path. Those who slip along the way must not dishonestly try to win by rushing to the West and cry violence.

CCC has one foal which is to paint ZANU OF as a violent party. It tries to create an image of a troubled persecuted child The images painted above have nothing to do with violence or any forms of illegality. They simply mean that politics around the world has something that is inherently tough and rough. It is an essential prerequisite to understand this fact before anyone joins politics and even so before they aspire to lead on politics.
It is in fact right and proper that politics be a tough nut. This is because the stakes are high in politics. These stakes pertain to cardinal realities such as: the preservation of the history, legacy and heritage of a nation’
the pride of a nation and its distinctive characteristics,
the social and economic infrastructure of a nation,
the wellbeing of young people, senior citizens and the working class the future of a nation
the security abd survival of a nation. This is nit a field for the faint hearted.
It is because of those high stakes that men and women of steal are required in politics. Their ideas, their ideals and their programs must be probed. Their characters and competencies must be subjected to the most intense of scrutiny. At times this includes the rough and tumble. As long as there is no crime involved that is fair.
We have a problem with Chamisa and his party. We have had this problem historically. First and foremost CCC does not understand that politics is not and must not be a walk in the park. Thus they have no clue of what they must put on the table, which must be strong characteristics to support national ideals. To them politics is melodramaticism; always raising baby cries across the oceans to attract Mommy-Foreign Power. Therefore one doubts whether they are constituted to address national issues or just to please outsiders and to receive money for that.

Further CCC does not hesitate to push its opponents or to use violence within. This is an outfit which has traded in violence historically, yet it has cried about violence so vehemently. Zimbabweans have never known of a political party that has split itself into so many organs like a worm, with those splittings on one another’s snakes. Yet the same organisations postures itself as a paradim of peace and tranquility.
It is not surprising that CCC is crying violence. The shriek noises on violence will increase as we near the general elections. The whole point is to create an atmosphere whereby they convince themselves and the West, if they lose the election, that they were victims of violence. This is sad and irresponsible as a political strategy. The “politicians” had to decide how to actually make decisions outside the election race, choosing how much of a given budget they would transfer to voters and whether to renege on promises. We found that once elected, those who were most eager to be selected as a candidate (who invested most in the first round) deviated most from what they promised in the election campaign.
We must realise that greater transparency can make a difference. If CCC is transparent we can all see that they are using tactic to win elections aided by sanctions. This violates the freedoms of the citizens.
The CCC which has publicly acknowledged that they will call the West to rush into Zimbabwe should they win the elections. They are taking advantage of the economic mishaps to wood-wink the focus of the electorate.

It must be known by all loving Zimbabweans that the West will only come to Zimbabwe if there something the will benefit from the country. Remember the USA talking to Maduro that they were sanctioned because they want oil. Remember UK going to Saudi Arabia for oil on eve of execution of 80 people human rights thrown out for oil. Does the CCC believe that the whites Chamisa is praying will be here just to help? Think again.

It is clear that CCC instigates violence and act victim in order to spoil the good name of Zimbabwe. The CCC is now a cult which is now ideologically grounded but worships one man aided by USA. Because their hope for the nation is based on the USA then they become cry babies to attract the attention of their handlers.
The question we all face is whether the people and their elected leaders can turn back from a failing therapeutic utopianism, and accept once again the tragic limits to human existence that the foundations of our political and economic structures once acknowledged.

By-elections: NGO Calls For Peace

Mnangagwa Sends Chilling Warning To Copper Cable Thieves

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the government is crafting legislation to allow law officers to shoot to kill all who will be seen stealing copper cables.

He added that if the thieves are caught alive, they will spend the rest of their lives in prison.

It affects the electricity, telecommunications and transport sectors, and each year Zimbabwe’s parastatals spend millions of dollars replacing stolen cables and restoring vandalised infrastructure due to cable theft.

In a recent statement, it was revealed that ZESA, the local power utility, lost US$256 million in stolen materials, additional millions in replacement infrastructure and in security mitigation for the same period.

Copper theft is not a new phenomenon but state companies and market players in Zimbabwe say it has surged in recent years.

There is little doubt that copper cable theft has grown into a pandemic in Zimbabwe, particularly for the electricity, telecommunications, and railway parastatals.

Organisations such as Zesa, TelOne, Econet, Telecel, NetOne, and the National Railways of Zimbabwe tell tales of loss of business due to the effects of copper cable theft that has been spreading uncontrolled.

Households too are affected as they are left to spend days without power and sometimes asked to pull resources together for the purchase of copper cables.

It is suspected most of the stolen cables are being smuggled to South Africa and they are then shipped further to countries that use the metal in the construction and manufacturing industries.- Pindula News
