CCC Denounces Zanu PF Barbarism

We strongly condemn the deplorable actions of Zanu PF thugs, which include a sitting MP for Gutu South, Togarepi Pupurayi, who indiscriminately attacked innocent citizens in Gutu South following President Nelson Chamisa’s address to the community. In response, we have deployed our peace ambassadors to the area to provide assistance to the victims.

The individuals responsible for the violence are as follows:

Norman Wanga, Evans Mbizvo, Nyikayaramba, John Paradza, Zanu PF member of parliament for Gutu West, Togarepi Pupurai and his sons, Tadamwa Chiwara and Promise…CCC

Mnangagwa Doomed-President Chamisa

Tinashe Sambiri|Zanu PF is doomed, CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa has said.

Addressing thousands of CCC supporters in Gutu on Friday, President Chamisa condemned the escalation of violence in the country.

“Mnangagwa can’t stop change. Nobody can stop the wave of change.

We have received reports of violence and intimidation of citizens by Zanu PF agents.

It is sad to note that Pupurai Togarepi a Member of Parliament is inciting violence,” said President Chamisa.

He also wrote on Twitter :
” Without allowing basic rights and freedoms for the citizens and opposition, the incumbent is doomed! All oppressors, kindly take this advice. You will thank me later!!”

Release Wiwa, Ngarivhume

Stop the unconstitutional banning of CCC political rallies! CCC Namibia demands free, fair, credible, and unfettered elections.

10 July 2023

Citizens in Namibia condemn in absolute terms the illegal closure of the democratic space in Zimbabwe barely 44 days before the historic watershed elections.

We have noted with great disgruntlement the banning of CCC rallies across the breadth and lengths of the motherland ahead of the much-awaited plebiscite.

Namibia district has the conviction that all political parties are allowed to freely campaign for their presidential, parliamentary, and council candidates without fear.

We figured out that only ZANU PF and its surrogates are allowed to campaign because they don’t have the political capital with the capacity to unseat the unpopular corrupt Harare regime.

CCC Namibia advocates for the promotion of a conducive environment suitable for an undisputed election on the 23rd of August 2023.

It is now imperative for local, regional, continental, and international observers to aid establish an even playing field as we near the crucial do-or-die crunch.

The vigilant external assembly has noted the unwillingness of the gold mafia government to give room for the organic and pragmatic leader, President Advocate Nelson Chamisa to reach his anticipated legion of faithful supporters. The police in connivance with the clueless ZANU-PF regime have successfully barred the famous political outfit from holding their rallies in Masvingo Urban, Chiredzi, Zaka, Bindura, etc. This is in contravention of both the electoral law and the supreme law of the country. Nominated candidates should be allowed to market their manifestos before the citizens to win big.

Besides banning political rallies, ZANU-PF has also turned rogue on the CCC supporters and membership. The desperate regime is busy unleashing violence on the political opponents as a sure way of deterring them from galvanizing support in the communities. At this juncture, we expect the state to prosecute those who are abusing the universal basic human rights during this election season. We urge the police and the courts to operate independently.

CCC Namibia demands the independence of all state institutions since they were not installed to defend ZANUPF looters but the general populace.

It is without a doubt that the judiciary, police, Zec, etc are taking instructions from the politically defunct Shake-Shake building.

The constitution stipulates that state entities should not be politicized as in the disturbing scenario exhibited in the chrome mafia government. We call upon the ZANU-PF morons to respect the rule of law and constitutionalism in the motherland.

Zimbabweans are exhausted from partaking in disputed elections. The issue of illegitimacy should be dealt with once and for all on the 23rd of August. Citizens in Zimbabwe are encouraged to vote big, win big, and defend big on the day in question.

Furthermore, the incessant banning of rallies and unleashing of violence on innocent citizens must be resisted with equal measure.

Self-defense is enshrined in the 2013 constitution. It is no longer time to fold one’s hands in the face of an attack on account of politics. We are equal citizens hence we should embrace dangerous freedom fighting for justice, equality, and better livelihoods in our fatherland. Citizens should resist intimidation and torture perpetrated by ZANU-PF thugs.

Shoulder-for-shoulder should be our strategy going forward. Resistance is a permanent feature of existence!

The current political settings in Zimbabwe do not reflect any potential free, fair, credible, and unfettered elections. Zec has continued to conceal the electronic voters roll from the various stakeholders and we are quite aware that it intends to manipulate the roll. We demand the immediate release of a verifiable and auditable voter roll to curb rigging in favor of the politically inept regime led by Mr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

Zimbabweans and the universe know that the rotten party cannot win free elections in the country.

CCC Namibia condemns ZANUPF violence in Bikita, Chiredzi, Gutu, etc. Our party is a peace-loving institution but that should not be mistaken for a weakness. It must be clear to everyone that the party knows where the theatre of the national democratic revolution lies. If the violence continues, we will demonstrate our fury through peaceful protests demanding a level campaigning field.

We cannot allow ZANU PF to continue treating us as second-class citizens in our country of birth.

Right now, Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala has endured state repression since the 14th of June 2022 to date on concocted charges.

The Zinasu Five are still languishing in the prison cells for exercising their constitutional right to protest against the arbitrary arrest of Saro Wiwa and the illegal imprisonment of Jacob Ngarivhume.

CCC Namibia demands their immediate release. Political freedoms are guaranteed in the supreme law of the motherland. We advocate for the fundamental rights of citizens to join political outfits of their choice. Selective application of the law is not a viable option this time around.

In a nutshell, citizens should commit and dedicate themselves to prosecuting the national democratic struggle to its logical conclusion. Let’s organize, recruit, and radicalize citizens for socio-economic mobility.

Citizens are urged to vote for jobs for all, health for all, better livelihoods for all, quality social services for all, and a New Great Zimbabwe for all led by the Change Champion-In-Chief, President Advocate Chamisa.

Rights Lawyers Demand Explanation On Release Of Convicted Rapist

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has demanded an explanation from the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) regarding the irregular circumstances that led to the release of a convicted rapist from Harare Central Prison under a recent presidential amnesty order.

Bobby Makaza, a 59-year-old resident of Murehwa in Mashonaland East province, was released from Harare Central Prison on May 19, 2023, under a presidential amnesty declared by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on May 12, 2023.

The presidential amnesty benefited several inmates, including convicted sexual offenders, after President Mnangagwa issued Clemency Order No. 1 of 2023, exercising his prerogative of mercy to reduce the prison population across the country.

However, ZLHR lawyers Tinashe Chinopfukutwa and Paidamoyo Saurombe, representing Makaza’s victim, have demanded a detailed explanation from ZPCS Commissioner-General Moses Chihobvu regarding the basis on which Makaza qualified for amnesty and subsequent release from Harare Central Prison under Clemency Order No. 1 of 2023.

Chinopfukutwa and Saurombe informed Chihobvu that Makaza had been convicted of raping a 15-year-old minor in 2018. He stood trial at Murehwa Magistrates Court in Mashonaland East province and was found guilty under section 65 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act. Makaza was sentenced to serve an effective 16-year prison term on April 2, 2019.

The human rights lawyers pointed out that, according to section 12(d) read with 13(c) of Clemency Order No. 1 of 2023, Makaza, as an inmate convicted of rape, which is a specified offense, should have been excluded from benefiting from the presidential amnesty.

Chinopfukutwa and Saurombe have given Chihobvu until Friday, July 7, 2023, to respond to their letter.

Key Steps In Mining

Steps to starting from zero in the mining sector.

Just like every industry mining has zero beginning where you begin with absolute nothing or with little amounts of less than 100usd .

By nature mining is a very high expenditure business thousands of united States dollars are needed to run a successful mining business sometimes with no returns .

We are going to take you through a short but powerful account of how to begin at zero step by step .

Step 1
Be interested in mining stories read and listen to as many mining stories in detail asking keen and clear questions.

Artisanal miners have a lot of stories to tell each story has a specific detail that is clue to how you can start from zero . By this way you will be informally introducing yourself to it .
Befriend someone in mining.

Deliberately choose a friend who regularly goes to the mine be very close friend. By so doing you receive mining updates and stories for free . You will learn mining terms risks and rewards fast .

3 visit the mines regularly.
Now that you have a friend visit the mines with him regularly to assess the situation and listen to more mining stories from others stay there for a long time sometimes even 12hrs or two days continuously.
4 identify areas of need within your friend’s network.

At this stage visit with a secret book identify needs that would let you in . The easiest is food just buy relish for them for free and start asking direct question how can you be of help .

NB don’t over promise or over commit yourself if you don’t yet understand the risky .

Pause : mining is so risky and ugly the losses are fatal we have lost money huge amounts never to receive it back don’t let the “reward stories ” force you to sell valuable property or use school fees for your kids to invest these “reward stories are structured to lure you .
Lists of free entry points no cent just you .

1 use your own hands join the team with intention of raising money to invest back for those working join night shift before list what you want to do with the money . Below are inputs and values
A box of explosives sets 330usd
A drum of diesel market price
A compressor set 2000usd
Pegging a mine 3000usd.
Never mind the amount using your hands increases the chances of high returns .
2 link with an investor with huge financial muscles and get double share .
3 identify and bring an expert who improve production
Low income entry points in values
1 food and lighting 100usd

Strive Masiyiwa Never Joined Ezekiel Guti Whose Own Doctor Loathed The Paedo-Protector

Following this development after his death, ZAOGA church members are now set to scramble for a piece of Ezekiel Guti’s corpse for magic powers, per the late Archbishop’s teachings, just as the raped kids he oppressed continue to suffer.

By Simba Chikanza | Econet Wireless founder Strive Masiyiwa never joined the late controversial church leader, Ezekiel Guti. I was there when even Guti’s own personal doctor of over 35 years to date was disgusted by the preacher to the point of loathing touching the ZAOGA owner’s vehicles whenever offered for transport.

Guti looked for Strive, an established businessman, but he looked away from the kids his convicted brother, pastor Nelson Guti, raped and who he (Ezekiel) later even trafficked to Canada. He neither looked for the suffering public so to refund them their RBZ money he took. I was there in ZAOGA when Ezekiel Guti sent an emisary to Strive Masiyiwa’s home trying to lure him to the cult, in events that led to Ezekiel Guti assigning the businessman a role at his so called inter-denominational business grouping, ACBF, where I played the piano for them around the time of my A Levels. Before getting to Masiyiwa, Guti had on numerous occasions personally tried to recruit his doctor, who is my blood brother. But Masiyiwa did not and has never joined the preacher’s church, contrary to various attempts by the institution to claim credits for Econet Wireless’ success.

I remember Strive, at ACBF, where I played the piano for him at Raylton Club with Nicholas Vingirai, Mr. Munowenyu, Mr. Jacha etc. Of course, Masiyiwa was just one of those promising business people (including my brother, his personal doctor) who Guti used to target so that their successes become associated with him. After meetings, behind the scenes, pastors would be busy campaigning to new comers claiming that all the successful men and women in the country are or were Guti’s spiritual kids. So many of these were used to think it’s Guti’s “monopoly with the creator” that’s made it all work in their-already-God-given success.

I clashed with my brother over his disgust for Guti which was to the point that he would never touch any of the man’s cars. My brother, Ian, made it clear that despite wearing white suits and flashing Biblical scriptures, Guti was in fact a criminal we as a family should never be associated with.

“I know big sister keeps taking you to Guti’s church, but you should know that when he’s with me, he is so ungodly that he keeps boasting about how many cars and how many houses he has,” my brother, Ian, who ZAOGA officials know well as his personal doctor, a consultant rheumatologist, told me as a teen of the many times when Guti would violate his private space and try to recruit the specialist to his church cult. (It can only be immoral in my view, for a sickly patient to attempt manipulating their own doctor and twist their will/use up their private time.) This being outside, was no patient-to-doctor convo, but was clearly an invasive preacher-to-recruit chat.

It would be years later that revelations would emerge that Guti has smuggled his brother, Pastor Nelson, a convicted peadophile to Canada, soon after his sentencing in 2004, and 19 years later there is not a word of acknowledgement by the church over the heineous crime, and none either to assure of the abused children’s welfare. The loud oppressive message to these victims is that their lives mean nothing as long as the rapist is Ezekiel Guti’s 2nd successor.

One of the worst revelations would be that all this while since the 1960s, Guti, has been contradicting the same Bible he peaches that prohibits corpse rituals. He would reveal that he has been getting special powers from the grave, and in one of his sermons say he smuggled limestone(skeletal stones) from someone’s grave.

Contrary to some who say Guti took away mere stones, the only cave at the mountain site he refers is known by local elders who used to warn us as we grew up in Bindura that it has real human skeletal remains, not stones.

Guti would say (audio):

“When I was in Asia minor, when I was in Ephesus, I went to the grave of John the son of Zebedee, and I took 3 stones from his grave, to put them in a cave in Bindura, that was the only man who died when he was 100 years, so. [SCREAMS SCREAMS].

“I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord, Amen!

“I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord, Amen,” he said, much to screaming and shouting in affirmation as the church was instructed that this is the method of getting powers of long life. Following this development after his death, ZAOGA church members are now set to scramble for a piece of Ezekiel Guti’s corpse for magic powers, per the late Archbishop’s teachings, just as the raped kids he oppressed continue to suffer. Povo should be fighting for reforms and free elections and not in rat race to win rigged elections

By Wilbert Mukori| Deep down most Zimbabweans out there know that Zanu PF is rigging these elections and CCC’s claim of “winning big” is just hot air. They are fighting for a reason to justify why they are participating in these flawed elections, particularly they also know that by participating they are giving Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating their own suffering.

Of course, they know it is insane to repeat the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. They have participated in these Zanu PF Mafiosi rigged elections for 43 years expecting Zanu PF to lose – they its another Zanu PF victory on 23 August 2023. They know they are shooting themselves in the foot by participating. What they are searching for now is some excuse for their insanity, for knowingly shooting themselves in the foot yet again!

“Boss we heard you since last year you have been posting the same thing, (Zanu PF is rigging these elections. CCC is participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. It is insane for povo to participate in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate their own suffering.) over and over again. Tave bhoo. (We are now fine.) Now tell us the solution. What must CCC do? What do you want us to do?” shot Nyuchi in my WhatsApp group.

Of course Nyuchi is not fine, if he was then he would not be asking what CCC and the people should do. And so I replied:

If you are asking what is the solution then you have heard the message but failed to understand it. If you had understood the message, you would KNOW not only what CCC must do but you and the rest of the masses out there must do!

Let me start by repeating the quotation from David Coltart’s book (it does contain the essence of Zimbabwe’s political paralysis today).

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

There are five key points that you must focus on and understand:

that these 2023 elections just like the 2013 elections are “so flawed, so illegal” it is naive to think that Zanu PF can ever lose given the party has control of every aspect of the process. The only way to take away Zanu PF’s carte blanche powers is by implementing the democratic reforms. SADC begged MDC to implement reforms during the GNU and they were ignored. EU listed 23 reform recommendation in their 2018 final report and not even one reform has been implemented. Not one. So with not even a toke reform in place the “only logical step IS to withdraw”.

Worse still, both CCC and the people should not participate give the flawed process “credibility” and thus give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

Zanu PF was forced to go into the GNU in 2008 because the party had cheated and used wanton violence. What the party has learnt since then was that it can still cheat and use wanton violence and get away with it PROVIDED Zimbabwe’s opposition parties participate in the elections. So since the GNU Zanu PF has allowed the opposition to win a few gravy train seats to entice them to participate no matter how flawed and illegal the electoral process got. Mnangagwa has even added the POLAD freebies for losing presidential candidate who publicly endorse the rigged elections were free, fair and credible.

So CCC and the rest in the opposition camp MUST NOT participate in these flawed elections for the two reasons in 1) and 2) above. They are participating out of greed, they cannot resist the bribe Zanu PF is offering in 3) above. Neither CCC, MDC, NCA, etc. can withdraw from this rat race “for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats,” confessed Coltart. It was the same reason – greed – that stopped MDC leaders from implementing even one token reform during the GNU. CCC are hell bent on participating in these flawed elections and it is foolish to expect them to do anything else.

The ordinary Zimbabweans should not participate in these elections for the two reasons in 1) and 2) above. Other than the generous bribes and looting opportunities paid to Zanu PF ruling elite, top brass in security services, judiciary and the chiefs and the crumbs and scraps thrown to low ranking security services war veterans and other minions doing the regime’s dirty work the overwhelming majority of Zimbabweans get nothing from this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship. Zimbabwe is a failed state and the masses are on the coal face of it all. It is insane for the masses out there to freely (many especially in the rural areas are coerced) participate in these flawed elections. Many are doing so freely because they have been conned into believing Chamisa’ s oxymoronic nonsense of having winning in rigged elections strategies even after 43 years of Zanu PF Mafiosi rigging elections. No wonder the country is a failed state, a naive and gullible electorate will never produce a competent government.

“Zanu PF is not as invisible as you think. Change is coming. We are not going to give up our constitutional right to vote and will go down fighting!” fired Nyuchi.

Both CCC and Zanu PF have one thing in common, they don’t care whether the elections are free, fair and credible as long as they win. Indeed, they really do not see what all the farce on rule of law; constitution; free, fair and credible elections; implementing reforms; etc.; etc.; are all about.

Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies signed the 1979 Lancaster House Agreement agreeing to rules to ensure free, fair and credible elections. By the time they landed back in Zimbabwe the party had hatched a plan to deny the people a free vote. The party let it be known that if it lost the elections the bush war would continue and, contrary, to the Lancaster House Agreement, the party did not withdraw all its cadres from the field and they were used to reinforce it campaign message. It’s “One man, one vote!” promise to the people was thrown out of the window.

MDC/CCC leaders failed to implement even one token reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because they believed they could win rigged elections. Chamisa and company have ignore the 2018 EU Observer Mission’s 23 reform recommendations for the same reason.

“We have to be ready, prepared to win elections under the most adverse of conditions, to be able to overwhelm, overpower, overrun Zanu PF even without electoral reforms,” Professor Welshman Ncube one of the there CCC Vice Presidents to Daily News last year.

When Mnangagwa stage the November 2017 military coup he expected to be embraced by the whole world as a democrat even after he went on to blatantly rig the 2018 elections. He still proclaimed “Zimbabwe is open for business!” and was disappointed the flood of foreign and local investor he expected to answer the call did not materialise.

Zimbabwe is now a byword for a failed state in which mismanagement, corruption and lawlessness are rampant, the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections is one key indicator of lawlessness. Who would want to do business in such a failed and chaotic nation, certainly not the shrewd, savvy and honest foreign investors.

It is interesting to note that Nelson Chamisa expects the international community to accept these elections to be ruled free, fair and credible, regardless of the mountain of evidence to the contrary, if he was declared the winner. He too will expect the investors to flood in! Again there would be no such flood because they know a regime change will not guarantee the end of lawlessness especially when the new regime too has no respect for rule of law.

How can anyone help Zimbabwe end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance when the people who should be fighting for the implementation of the necessary reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections are not interested in reforms because they believe they can have change without the reforms. There is no good governance without rule of law.

Yes Nyuchi go ahead, fight on. You should be fighting for reforms and free elections but you are insisting on having the elections without reforms because you believe in Chamisa’s Winning In Rigged Elections strategies. But come 24 August, please don’t even dare to complain that Zanu PF rigged the elections!

The premises, a former Redan branded property, is ideally situated on 51 Robert Mugabe Way, which is the first thing you see after the prominent roundabout entering Kwekwe from Gweru.

This site has all the makings of a “money spinner”- auto showroom, workshops, fuel court, external garages, a kiosk and a well-placed takeaway stand, being highly sought after within the commercial sector of Kwekwe.

The massive development opportunity is self-evident to all and sundry who pass by – and they are many.

Court papers reflect that former prominent and wealthy KweKwe resident Peter A Midgley (and his family members Olive, Roland and Janet) sold the property to a company identified as Gondwanaland (Pvt.) Ltd. in April of 2007.

However, in August 2012 the unknown, dormant and clearly insolvent Hopetech (Pvt.) Ltd. commenced an action in the High Court claiming it had purchased the company holding the Main Street Property (among other assets) from Midgley in November 2006 for US $1,000,000.

Despite having no assets, or any apparent means of wealth or support, Hopetech and its 2 directors averred that it had paid Midgley the equivalent of US$600,000.00 at the agreement date in RTGS to the value of Z$1,680,000,000,000.00 (1,68 Trillion Zimbabwe Dollars) with the remaining US$400,000.00 or Z$1,120,000,000,000.00 (1,12 trillion on Zimbabwe Dollars) to be paid in 4 quarterly instalments thereafter.
No proof has been submitted to the High Court in support of any of these payments to Mr. Midgley by Hopetech.

The erstwhile directors of Hopetech are two KweKwe residents. Mr. Simba Matake (‘’Mr. Matake’’) – House number N110 Torwood, Redcliff. b) Mr. Lazaruos Paradzayi (‘’Mr. Paradzayi’’) – 10/8 Mbizo, Kwekwe. Mr. Paradzayi is also registered as the Principal Officer of Hopetech.

It is understood that both have been called into CID to be cautioned.

This would appear to be a clear sign that criminal complaints are in imminent.Sibanda, who claims no link to Hopetech, Matake or Paradzayi, is widely known to have funded Hopetech’s enormous High Court legal bills and more recently the criminal defense recently mounted for its two directors.

The November 11, 2011 agreement where Midgley ceded all rights to Sibanda over the Gondwanaland agreement is one of many obvious “smoking guns”.

The obvious question must be asked: “Who is the ultimate beneficial owner of Hopetech?”.

Surely not of the two humble directors of simple means? The case screams the apt legal phrase “res ipsa loquitur” – the thing speaks for itself!

Gospel Artist Hails ZIMURA For Assisting Mafunga Family

MUTARE – Veteran Mutare based gospel musician, Pastor Maxwell Teedzai has expressed his appreciation to ZIMURA (Zimbabwe Music Rights Association) for their unwavering support to the Mafunga family following the tragic passing of renowned gospel musician Diva Mafunga.

Mafunga known for the hit song “Endai Naizvozvo”, died in a car accident on 4 July while traveling from Bulawayo to Harare.

Teedzai also acknowledged the contribution of broadcasters such as Radio Zimbabwe, Power FM, National FM, ZiFM Stereo, and Star FM in nurturing emerging talent by providing airplay until artists gain recognition.

“We are all aware of how ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation), Star FM, ZiFM Stereo, and several other radio stations have consistently promoted raw talent, transforming them into celebrated artists. They have elevated artists like Tocky Vibes, Victor Kunonga, Alick Macheso, Charles Charamba, Jah Prayzar, Enzo Ishal, Mathias Mhere, Winky D, Mbeu, Agatha Murudzwa, Mechanic Manyeruke, Gary Tight, Tawanda Chibedura, Trymore Bande, Bethany Pasinawako-Ngolomi, Amara Brown, Hosiah Chipanga, Blessing Shumba, Innocent Mupemba, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Mambo Duterere, Pastor Lawrence Haisa, Mai Patai, Kuchineyi, Cynthia Mare, Pachihera, Freeman, Killer T, Nicholas Zacharia, Mark Ngwazi, Peter Moyo, Sulumani Chimbetu, Leornard Zhakata, and many more. He emphasized their essential role in ensuring inclusive access to media for locals and the discovery and promotion of talent.

“Diamond FM has discovered, nurtured, and continues to propel local artists from raw talent to stardom. Artists like Dorcas Moyo, Mutambikwa, and several others have gained recognition through this broadcasting platform,” Teedzai added.

Maxwell Teedzai, a Gospel musician born and raised in Dangamvura, Mutare, began his music career at the age of 21.

He released his debut 10-track album in 2009 and has since released four albums. His latest album, produced with the late Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi serving as the Executive Producer, was recorded live at Studio Pakare Paye in Norton.

The album, recorded by Tawanda Chibedura and mixed and mastered by Kabon (aka Munyaradzi Mucherechedzo), showcases the unmistakable influence of the late music legend. Teedzai hopes his latest music receives increased airplay, allowing radio listeners to be blessed by his lyrical compositions.

Reflecting on his journey, Teedzai fondly remembered Sifelani Chikwape, Muriel Tavaziva, Kanyemba Bonzo, Ndundu Chikara, Dj Shami, Rabson Umali, Hazvinei Sakarombe, Kudakwashe Machiri, Captain Saunyama, and other Zimbabwean radio presenters who were among the first to play his music on air.

Teedzai expressed deep grief over the void left by Diva Mafunga’s passing, describing him as a highly talented and humble role model for all artists.

“Diva Mafunga’s departure has created an irreplaceable void in our music sector and has inflicted a profound loss on the entire nation of Zimbabwe. May his soul rest in peace, and may the Holy Spirit console his family and friends,” lamented Teedzai.

Catholic Priest Dies In A Hotel Room, 32-Year-Old Church Lady Implicated

Police in Murang’a County are investigating a case where a Catholic Priest died in a hotel room in Gatanga sub-county on Saturday morning.

According to Gatanga sub-county police commander Lawrence Njeru, the 43 years old Joseph Kariuki Wanjiru was in the company of a lady who is alleged to be his lover.

They spent the night in the hotel only for him to fall sick the following morning.

The 32-year-old lady is said to be a worker in the same church the priest serves.

It is said the priest consumed chicken and some liquor on Friday night before retiring for the night.

The hotel workers said he had patronized the hotel for the last two years.

After the incident happened, the lady notified the management of the hotel that the priest was unwell and was experiencing bouts of dizziness.

They covered him with a blanket and put him in his car and rushed him to Kenol Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The lady who was accompanied by several workers of the hotel then headed to Samuru police post where they notified the police about the incident before recording a statement.

Njeru said they found the deceased’s body in the back of the vehicle half covered with a blanket.

“The body was fresh but had foam coming out of the mouth. We made inquiries and discovered that priests’ bodies cannot be preserved in a normal mortuary so we made arrangements to have it transported to Nairobi, accompanied by our officers.”

Njeru however noted that investigations had commenced to establish the cause of his death.

“We interviewed his companion and she told us she had had an affair with the priest for the last six years,” the police boss further noted.

Harare Motorist Approaches JSC Over Magistrate Bias, Favoritism Towards Croco Motors

Harare, Zimbabwe – A Harare motorist Kudzayi Mundangepfupfu has filed a complaint with the Judicial Services Commission against presiding Magistrate Yeukai Nzuda alleging bias, prejudice, and a violation of his constitutional rights in the handling of her criminal case.

In a letter addressed to the commission, Mundangepfupfu outlined several instances that she believes demonstrate the lack of impartiality on the part of Magistrate Nzuda.

She claims that the court showed favoritism towards Croco Motors, granting them a month-long postponement to find a witness, while denying a postponement to her heavily pregnant legal counsel due to a maternity medical emergency.

“Early this year Croco motors requested a postponement for a month to look for a witness they wanted to introduce after trial had commenced yet they knew 6 months prior that they would need that Witness and were granted this postponement.

“The Magistrate herself from beginning of my case would postpone dates because of leave or holidays she was taking for 3 weeks to a month at a time.

“However my legal counsel who was heavily pregnant requested a postponement due to a pregnancy medical emergency on the 26’h of April 2023 through a junior counsel as she was unwell to attend a court sitting. Not only was it declined even though maternity leave is her right but the Magistrate went on to caution me that my trial would continue in the next 3 working days with or without legal counsel which was a violation of my constitutional right, said Mundangepfupfu.

Furthermore, Mundangepfupfu alleged that she was forced to change her legal representation against her will, despite having the same lawyer throughout the case.

She said the magistrate’s actions prejudiced her chances of winning the case and interfered with her right to choose her legal representative.

Another issue raised in the complaint is the withholding of information and deliberate prejudice.

Mundangepfupfu states that the court failed to provide a fully transcribed record of proceedings within the agreed timeframe, leaving no room for verification or inspection.

This withholding of legal information is seen as a deliberate attempt to prejudice her case.

The letter also accuses Magistrate Nzuda of bias and lack of impartiality.

Mundangepfupfu highlighted instances where the Magistrate Dzuda prioritized her own interests over the fair request of her counsel for trial dates.

She further claims that external forces may be influencing the magistrate’s decision-making process, as she always stands down matters for a response at a later seating.

Moreover, Mundangepfupfu alleged manipulation of court records highlighting that the transcribed document provided to her before the defense trial commencement contained omitted information and manipulated content in favor of Croco Motors.

“After having verified the transcribed document that we were given day end before defense trial commencement on the 17th of May 2023 we noted that there was a lot of information omitted and some information manipulated to prejudice my case in favour of Croco motors,” she added.

Attempts to request amendments were met with delays and excuses, leaving the case in a state of prejudice, she said.

The motorist also attaches an application for discharge, along with the magistrate’s ruling, urging the oversight bodies to review them for possible misdirection, prejudice, and legal correctness.

Mundangepfupfu appealed to the Judicial Service Commission and other oversight bodies to investigate the conduct of Magistrate Nzuda and intervene in the matter promptly, as she believes the court’s impartiality and integrity have been compromised.

High Court Criticizes Magistrate’s Handling of Opposition Party’s Appeal Against Rally Ban

By A Correspondent| In a recent development, the High Court of Zimbabwe has faulted Bindura Magistrate Mary Msika for her handling of an appeal filed by the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) political party. The appeal challenged the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s (ZRP) ban on the party’s scheduled campaign rally.

The ZRP had prohibited the CCC from conducting its rally, which was slated to take place on July 9, 2023, at the Brockdale Pfugari Open Space in Bindura, Mashonaland Central province. Citing concerns about the venue’s lack of infrastructure and potential security threats, the ZRP deemed it unsuitable for the event.

Faced with this ban, several provincial leaders of the CCC, namely Samuel Gondongwe, Agreement Kagura, Susan Mawire, and the party itself, lodged an appeal against the ZRP’s prohibition notice. They contended that the ban contravened the provisions of the Maintenance of Peace and Order (MOPO) Act.

However, Magistrate Mary Msika, on July 7, 2023, directed the appellants to provide the ZRP with a three-day notice period to respond to the appeal. She scheduled the urgent appeal hearing for July 11, 2023, invoking Order 22 Rule 10 of the Magistrates Court Rules, 2019.

In response, Gondongwe, Kagura, Mawire, and the CCC swiftly filed an urgent chamber application on July 8, 2023. They challenged Magistrate Msika’s decision, arguing that it contradicted Section 11(2) of the MOPO Act, which required appeals to be heard no later than one day before the scheduled public gathering.

The appellants highlighted the absurdity of the appeal not being heard and determined by July 8, 2023. They emphasized that any delay would irreparably prejudice their rights and render the ultimate decision ineffective. They further contended that the court’s scheduled hearing on July 11, 2023, could not effectively determine whether the rally should be held on July 9, 2023.

Subsequently, on July 9, 2023, High Court Judge Tawanda Chitapi criticized Magistrate Msika’s handling of the appeal, stating that she had not promptly addressed the concerns raised by Gondongwe, Kagura, Mawire, and the CCC. Justice Chitapi set aside Magistrate Msika’s decision to defer the hearing and ordered her to immediately hear and make a determination on the appeal, stipulating a deadline of 12 PM on the same day.

This ruling by the High Court highlights the significance of safeguarding constitutional rights, including political rights, administrative justice, and freedom of assembly and association. The CCC’s appeal against the ban on their campaign rally will now be given due consideration and a timely decision to ensure the protection of these fundamental rights.

OWN WORDS: Ezekiel Guti Saying He Was Sustained By Corpse Powers

Recorded Sermon Raises Alarming Allegations of Ritualistic Practices by Late ZAOGA FIF Church Leader Ezekiel Guti.

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A verified audio recording of a sermon has sent shockwaves through the religious community, providing compelling evidence that the late founder of the Assemblies of God Africa Church, ZAOGA, Ezekiel Guti, engaged in ritualistic practices involving the remains of deceased individuals. The recording suggests that Guti shared beliefs with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, alleging that supernatural powers could be obtained from the deceased. These claims align with unchallenged accusations made by the Mugabe family since the passing of the late President Robert Mugabe in September 2019.

The revealing sermon sheds light on Guti’s purported faith in the powers derived from the skeletal remains of the deceased, placing him in the same ritualistic grouping as President Mnangagwa. In the sermon, Guti explicitly states that during his time in Asia Minor, specifically Ephesus, he visited the grave of John, the son of Zebedee. Shockingly, he admits to extracting three stones from the grave, smuggling them back to Zimbabwe, and placing them in a shrine where he prayed. Guti expressed his belief that these actions would grant him the power to live up to the age of 100. Throughout the sermon, he passionately proclaimed his determination to avoid death and continue proclaiming the works of the Lord.

“I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord, Amen,” says Guti in the recorded sermon.

Defenders of the preacher have claimed that Guti’s corpse-power-ritual is in the Bible, but analyst Howard Nyoni told ZimEye the passage cited of Elisha’s bones purportedly giving life to a dead person, is just one of many totally personalised mythological diary notes that are not at all and will never be an instruction of Biblical scripture.

These revelations have deeply unsettled followers of ZAOGA FIF Church and raised significant concerns within the public sphere. The allegations stand in stark contrast to the teachings and principles commonly associated with the late church leader. ZAOGA FIF Church has long been recognized for its emphasis on faith, evangelism, and community engagement, making these claims highly unsettling and perplexing to its members.

Given the gravity of the accusations, there is an urgent need for official responses from both the Guti family and ZAOGA FIF Church. The public eagerly awaits their statements as they navigate the potentially far-reaching consequences of these deeply troubling allegations.

It is important to highlight that this recording has undergone verification and thus holds significant weight as evidence.

These revelations also provoke broader discussions about the accountability and integrity of religious leaders, as well as the potential misuse of spiritual practices. The parallel allegations against President Emmerson Mnangagwa, along with the alleged connection to ritualistic practices, serve to highlight the importance of transparency and ethical conduct among individuals occupying positions of power and influence.

Croco Motors Under Fire Over Fuel Refilling Boob

By A Correspondent| Croco Motors is entangled in a legal dispute with one of its regular customers Kudzai Mundangepfupfu whose Mercedes Benz vehicle was refilled with diesel instead of petrol at a facility run by the leading car dealership, the ZimEye has learnt.

Legal documents gleaned by this publication show that Mundangepfupfu’s vehicle, a Mercedes Benz C 200 was refilled with diesel by a fuel attendant at Croco Puma Bond service stand on April 25,2022.

Subsequently, upon realising the error, Croco Motors engaged its resident mechanics to drain the diesel from the car, and after doing so, refilled the vehicle with petrol.

As shown by correspondence written by Mundangepfupfu’s lawyers to Croco Motors’ legal advisers, the vehicle, which has since been inspected by Zimoco, the car has multiple dysfunctional faults, problems which Mundangepfupfu claims only arose as a result of the refuelling mistake.

Unfolding events, as narrated in the legal documents, show that Croco Motors extended a Ford Ranger T6 vehicle to Mundangepfupfu for her use while attending to her dysfunctional car at the vehicle dealership’s garage.

However, Croco Motors is now demanding its vehicle back, while Mundangepfupfu insists she will not hand it back before the entity adequately compensate her for the technical faults diagnosed after her car was erroneously refuelled with diesel instead of petrol.

“Our client advised us that on April 25, a fuel attendant at Croco Puma Bond Service stand erroneously fuelled her vehicle…with diesel instead of petrol. Having realised the error, Croco Motors then engaged their resident mechanics to attend to the car,” wrote Mundangepfupfu’s lawyers on May 9, in a letter addressed to Croco’s legal representatives.

“We are advised that the Croco Motors mechanics proceeded to take the car to your workshop whereby they opened the bonnet and located the fuel supply line. They disconnected it, and began draining the tank by repeatedly turning the ignition…Our client has sought independent advice and was informed that the manner in which the vehicle was handled is not the standard procedure that ought to have been taken which was also confirmed by the Croco workshop mechanics.”

In light of the above, Mundangepfupfu’s lawyers further wrote, “our client requests a full mechanical report of the car through Zimoco to ascertain the extent of damage…”

However, in a letter dated May 17, Croco Motors lawyers, Atherstone and Cook, responded to Mundangepfupfu’s legal representatives dismissing her account of events.

“We wish to state that our client (Croco Motors) does not agree with your client’s (Mundangepfupfu) narration of events. The factual position is that your client brought her vehicle for fuelling and went straight to join a small (short) diesel queue despite that she is aware that the diesel and petrol pumps are separate,” wrote Croco Motors legal representatives.

“This was not expected of her considering that your client is a regular customer who is very familiar with the place and saw the clearly labelled pumps.”

Through the same correspondence, Croco Motors demanded Mundangepfupfu to collect her car which is still in its care and also return the courtesy vehicle it gave her for use.

Atherstone and Cook wrote: “Your client was advised to return the courtesy vehicle following the completion of the inspection of her car and she has refused to return the courtesy car.

“Considering that our client is not responsible to the issues picked up in relation to your client’s car, your client has no legal basis to continue holding on to our client’s car.”

However, Mundangepfupfu’s lawyers countered the demands stated by Croco Motors, and insisted she would only return the courtesy vehicle once her dysfunctional car is repaired.

Her lawyers wrote back on May 19: “Our client could not get the vehicle in such a state, she requested that the vehicle be fully attended and restored to the state it was before the fuel mishap.

“Consequently, she could not return the complementary vehicle, she awaits the repairs to be done before such handover as agreed between the parties.”

Upon Mundangepfupfu’s refusal to comply, Croco proceeded to file a law suit, seeking to compel her to return the courtesy vehicle. The car dealership has also indicated that it will also bill Mundangepfupfu for storage charges accrued while her car is in its care.

However, Mundangepfupfu, in her opposing affidavit, deposed on July 8 averred that Croco Motors had caused “extensive” damage to her vehicle.

“The applicant (Croco Motors) caused extensive damage to my vehicle so much that it has not performed as before their involvement,” Mundangepfupfu wrote.

“From the foregoing, the applicant has no right to disposes me of the vehicle…I am being inconvenienced by conduct of the applicant. I am further being put out of pocket to defend this application on a matter where applicant can address.”

The matter, which has now escalated to the High Court is registered under reference number 4169/22.

Preventing Future Tragedies:

In the aftermath of this distressing event, it is essential for individuals, communities, and authorities to reflect on ways to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future. Fostering a culture of tolerance, empathy, and understanding is crucial to preventing violence and preserving human lives.

The untimely death of Mamasa Magwarimbo serves as a painful reminder of the dangers that lurk when conflicts escalate beyond reason. They were severely assaulted and had their phones stolen while Muremba lost US$200 in the process.

FAZ War: Zanu PF Candidate Threatens Local Pastor Over Chamisa

A recent incident in Chikomba Ward 21, Zimbabwe, has raised concerns over the alleged threat made by a Zanu PF candidate, Edunate Chungwa, towards a local Methodist Church in Zimbabwe (MCZ) pastor. The confrontation reportedly occurred after members of the church attended a rally organized by Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), a group affiliated with Chungwa’s campaign. While the details surrounding the incident remain contentious, it is crucial to shed light on the situation and its potential implications for the community.

The Alleged Threat:
According to various sources, Edunate Chungwa, a Zanu PF candidate for Chikomba Ward 21, allegedly made threats against Reverend Hannington Mukandiwa of the MCZ. The incident reportedly unfolded at a rally held at Unyetu Business Centre, with the intention of rallying support for Chungwa’s campaign. Chungwa later denied any knowledge of Mukandiwa when questioned by The Mirror, a local publication. However, a member of the Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC), Abraham Mutomba, confirmed the incident.

Details of the Incident:
Abraham Mutomba, a CCC candidate for Ward 21 and a congregant of Reverend Mukandiwa, provided insights into the incident. He stated that Chungwa requested all MCZ members in attendance to stand up during the rally. However, only a few individuals stood up, which seemingly agitated Chungwa. Allegedly, he proceeded to accuse Reverend Mukandiwa of influencing his congregants not to attend his rallies. This led to an alleged threat, with Chungwa reportedly stating that he would physically assault Reverend Mukandiwa. Some members of FAZ, who were present at the rally, also claimed that the pastor was not registered within the ward and should face consequences.

Response from Involved Parties:
When approached by the media for comment, Reverend Hannington Mukandiwa declined to provide any statements. His decision to remain silent might be influenced by various factors, including concerns about personal safety or a desire to handle the matter internally within the church. However, Abraham Mutomba, the CCC candidate and a congregant of the church, confirmed the incident to The Mirror, highlighting the potential seriousness of the situation.

Implications and Importance of Addressing the Issue:
The alleged threat made by a political candidate towards a respected religious leader is a matter of great concern. It not only raises questions about the candidate’s conduct and the potential influence of politics on religious freedom but also highlights the need for a peaceful and respectful democratic process. Threats and acts of violence have no place in any election campaign and should be condemned by all parties involved.

Moreover, it is essential for local authorities, community leaders, and religious organizations to address this incident promptly and impartially. Ensuring the safety and well-being of religious leaders, regardless of their affiliations, is crucial for maintaining a peaceful and harmonious society. The incident also highlights the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding between political candidates, community leaders, and religious institutions to foster an environment of mutual respect and cooperation.

Conclusion:
The alleged threat made by Zanu PF candidate Edunate Chungwa towards Reverend Hannington Mukandiwa, a pastor of the MCZ in Zimbabwe, is a matter that demands attention. While the details surrounding the incident remain contested, it is imperative for the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and address the issue appropriately. Promoting a peaceful and respectful democratic process is vital for the well-being of the community and the preservation of religious freedom. Such incidents should serve as reminders that violence and intimidation have no place in politics, and all stakeholders must work together to create a society that values and upholds the principles of tolerance, respect, and inclusivity.- Agencies

By Farai D Hove | Zimbabwe’s political landscape is marked by intricate power struggles, shifting alliances, and a history of internal dissent. Recently, the ZANU PF party, known for its historical ties to former President Robert Mugabe, has found itself entangled in a web of irony. As the party vigorously attempts to suppress internal dissent from nostalgic pro-Mugabe factions, it suddenly finds itself accusing Robert Mugabe’s cousin and former Mines Minister, Walter Chidhakwa. This article aims to analyze and explain the underlying irony of these events.

The Scuttling of Mining Projects:

During the First Republic, efforts to attract investment in the mining sector, particularly from China, were consistently thwarted. Walter Chidhakwa, who served as Mines and Mining Development Minister during that period, played a significant role in stifling these endeavors. Several projects, including the Manhize Steel Plant in Mhondoro, were scuttled under his tenure. Consequently, the realization of the Manhize project remained a mere pipe dream until the Second Republic came into power in 2022.

ZANU PF’s Accusations and Political Ambitions:

In a surprising turn of events, ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa accused Walter Chidhakwa of hindering investment efforts in the mining industry from China during his tenure as Mines Minister. Mutsvangwa further suggested that Chidhakwa’s current political aspirations, particularly his attempt to gain power in Zvimba South Constituency as an independent candidate, were driven by tribal and regional sentiments.

The Dislike for Tribal and Regional Politics:

While ZANU PF attempts to paint Chidhakwa as playing the tribal and regional card, it ironically acknowledges that such tactics are generally disliked by Zimbabweans. The accusation itself could be seen as a desperate attempt to undermine Chidhakwa’s credibility and divert attention from the party’s internal dissent. Nevertheless, the electorate has historically demonstrated aversion to tribal and regional politics, indicating that ZANU PF’s accusations may not resonate as intended.

The Perception of Insincerity:

Another irony lies in the accusation that Walter Chidhakwa, who is now seeking political office, amassed wealth for himself and his family while pretending to be concerned about the welfare of the people. ZANU PF portrays him as insincere and detached from the needs of the populace. However, this portrayal raises questions about the party’s own sincerity and the motivations behind its accusations.

ZANU PF’s Resilience and Winning Streak:

Despite the accusations against Chidhakwa and the internal dissent faced by ZANU PF, the party seems unfazed. It has implemented measures to ensure resounding victory in upcoming elections and maintains confidence in its ability to maintain its winning streak. This steadfastness suggests that the party believes it can weather the storm of internal challenges while projecting a unified front to the public.

Conclusion:

The irony surrounding ZANU PF’s accusations against Walter Chidhakwa and its handling of internal dissent is evident. As the party attempts to suppress nostalgic pro-Mugabe factions, it finds itself accusing a relative of Robert Mugabe and highlighting his alleged hindrance of investment projects. The accusations of tribal and regional politics, dislike for such tactics among Zimbabweans, and the perception of insincerity add further layers to this irony. Ultimately, the upcoming elections will determine the political fate of ZANU PF and the extent to which its attempts to control internal dissent have been successful.

Is Unemployment Leading Cause Of Crime In Zim?

MASVINGO – Seventy-one per cent of inmates entering Zimbabwe prisons in the first quarter of 2023 are unemployed youth between the age of 15 and 30, a Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStats) report has said.

Analysts said this was an alarming report pointing to the possible escalation of abuse of drugs by Zimbabwe’s youth.

The report; 2023 First quarter prison admissions and discharges statistics report released in May 2023 says the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) recorded 12 558 new inmates, with youth constituting 71,1% (8 926).

Youth in the 20-24 age group constitutes 23.9% (2 810 males-191 females) of the admissions.

The 15-19 age group has 847 males and 79 females. The most committed crimes by the age group are robbery (311), theft (288), burglary (209) and rape (110).

The report comes at a time the national unemployment rate is 46.7%, according to a ZimStat 2023 first-quarter labour force survey report released on April 25, 2023.

Many youth work as vendors and drug dealers dealing in dangerous drugs like crystal meth resulting in high crime prevalence.

A total of 1 199 burglaries, 1 815 theft and 1 356 robbery cases were committed by youth between 15-30 years in the three months. Some of them engage in these criminal activities to find money to buy drugs.

Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) communications officer, Herbert Chikosi recently told The Mirror that youth, particularly the unemployed from high-density suburbs spend their time abusing drugs.

He said some desperate youth have resolved to boiling sanitary wear and drinking the thick white liquid extract to get intoxicated. Chikosi also said child marriages, teenage pregnancies and Gender Based Violence (GBV) are drivers of health problems affecting youth. …

Chamisa Is A Pastor Who’s Challenging A Power-Star, ED

*Zimbabwe Needs a Power Star, Not a Pastor: Mnangagwa’s Charismatic and Development-Focused Leadership

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | In the upcoming 2023 election, Zimbabwe finds itself at a crossroads, with two prominent candidates vying for the presidency. On one hand, there is Nelson Chamisa, a charismatic pastor turned politician, and on the other, Emmerson Mnangagwa, a power star with a proven track record in leadership. While charisma has its merits, Zimbabwe requires a leader who can effectively navigate the complexities of governance and drive the nation towards prosperity. Mnangagwa’s charismatic and development-focused leadership makes him the ideal candidate for this crucial role.

Dr Masimba Mavaza

Mnangagwa’s Power Star Leadership:
Emmerson Mnangagwa, the sole presidential candidate for ZANU PF, possesses the necessary experience to guide a country that was once in crisis towards a brighter future. Under his leadership, Zimbabwe has gained traction and witnessed progress in various sectors of the economy. Mnangagwa’s communication skills, persuasiveness, and charm have played a pivotal role in his ability to connect with the people and lead the nation effectively. His commitment to the best interests of all Zimbabweans, without discrimination, demonstrates his ability to unify and inspire.

Masimba Mavaza VAZET

Charisma and the Power Star:
While charisma can be an asset for leaders, it is not the sole determinant of effective governance. Mnangagwa’s thoughtful speaking style, coupled with his passion and relatability to ordinary people, has endeared him to many. He strikes a balance between being an engaging leader and a focused executor. His charisma lies in his ability to captivate audiences with his vision and then follow through with practical actions to achieve it. Mnangagwa understands the power he possesses and utilizes it positively for the benefit of his country.

Chamisa’s Pastoral Influence:
Nelson Chamisa’s background as a pastor-turned-politician should not be mistaken for true charisma. While some charismatic leaders have led people astray, comparing Chamisa to a power star like Mnangagwa is unjustifiable. Chamisa’s reliance on pastoral influence and confusion highlights his lack of leadership experience and raises concerns about his ability to effectively govern. Pastors can often attract blind followers, and this aspect does not align with the critical thinking required in political leadership.

The Importance of Performance over Charisma:
In today’s political landscape, voters seem more focused on a leader’s personality traits rather than their experience or policy positions. However, the real question is whether it is more important for a leader to win hearts or to effectively perform the job at hand. Mnangagwa’s leadership has been marked by tangible development and progress, evident in the positive transformation of Zimbabwean towns and infrastructure. In contrast, Chamisa’s emphasis on charisma and appearance risks diverting attention from the essential qualities and qualifications a leader should possess.

Deliberate Choice for Development:
Zimbabwean voters must recognize that politics is not a church, and choosing a leader should be based on substantive reasons rather than superficial charisma. Voting for a leader solely based on their pastoral charm disregards the ethical duty citizens have to consider a candidate’s ability to govern and solve pressing issues. Mnangagwa’s leadership demonstrates a commitment to the country’s development and the protection of its citizens’ freedoms and principles.

  • As Zimbabwe heads towards the 2023 election, the nation faces critical challenges and uncertainties. To secure a prosperous future, Zimbabwe needs a power star like Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose charismatic and development-focused leadership has shown tangible results. While charisma has its appeal, it must not overshadow a candidate’s ability to govern effectively and deliver on their promises. Choosing a leader based on charm alone risks jeopardizing the progress made and undermines the duty of citizens to vote responsibly for the betterment of their country.

Togarepi Causes Havoc In Gutu

GUTU – Zanu PF Member of Parliament (MP) Pupurai Togarepi accompanied by Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) was allegedly seen today marshalling violence against CCC supporters gathered for a party rally at Mawungwa Business Centre in Gutu South.

The violence saw an aspiring Ward 25 CCC councillor Martin Muremba, for Ward 25 and four youth being abducted and kept captivy for six hours.

They were severely assaulted and had their phones stolen while Muremba lost US$200 in the process.
Sources said that the violence started around 7 pm last night when Zanu PF youth stormed Maungwa and beat everyone they saw at the shops.

What baffled residents is that the fiasco happened as Police watched and did nothing.

The assaulted youth showed scars to the media inflicted all over their bodies. They alleged that Gutu Police led by Officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Cames Myambo refused to take their reports and chased them out of the Police post at Mawungwa.
Myambo said he is not aware of the matter…

Bulawayo Chiefs Bury Caps United

CAPS United suffered their third successive loss in the 2023 Castle Lager Premiership season after going down 2-1 to Bulawayo Chiefs on Saturday.

The Green Machine slumped further on the log to tenth place following the defeat.

Obriel Chirinda scored a second half brace for the home side. He opened the scoring two minutes after the interval before rounding up on the hour.

The visitors failed to get back into the game, just pulling one goal back later in the match through Clive Rupiya.

They also finished the encounter with a man short after Blessing Sarupinda received a straight red card for a crude challenge in the late stages of the first period.

Chiefs, who returned to winning ways, move up to seventh place following the victory.-Soccer24 News

DeMbare, Platinum In Stalemate

For the time in a row, Dynamos and FC Platinum played out to a goalless draw in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match.

The two sides, just like last season, could not find a way past each other and settled for a share of the spoils, this time, at Babourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

Not even the fact that both teams came into the eagerly-awaited clash on the back of successive wins, could make a difference.

The only significant goal scoring opportunity in the first half fell to Tinashe Makanda, who blazed a free kick awarded to DeMbare after a foul on Keith Madera, over the crossbar.

Nothing could separate the two sides at the half time interval.

The second stanza also hadvery little in terms of goalmouth action, with the best chance falling to Emmanuel Paga right at the death, but the Ghanaian forward’s weak shot was easily collected by Wallace Magalane —in goal for FC Platinum.-Soccer24 News

AUDIO: Ezekiel Guti Saying He Was Sustained By Corpse Powers.

Verified Recording Raises Alarming Allegations of Ritualistic Practices by Late ZAOGA FIF Church Leader Ezekiel Guti.

Disqualify Mutodi Over Violence

Experts including LEAD president Linda Masarira have urged CCC to seek the disqualification of ZANU PF candidate for Bikita West Energy Mutodi who sought to intimidate and disperse opposition party supporters gathered for a rally by firing two shots on them on Thursday. The experts said as a candidate Mutodi signed an election code of conduct which bars him from engaging in political violence and intimidation. All candidates sign this code before their nomination papers are accepted.

Facts About Sanitation And Hygiene

Half of the world’s population still does not have adequate access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) which could have prevented at least 1.4 million deaths and 74 million disability-adjusted life years in 2019, according to the latest report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and an accompanying article published in The Lancet.

“With growing WASH-related health risks seen already today through conflicts, the emergence of antimicrobial resistance, the re-emergence of cholera hotspots, and the long-term threats from climate change, the imperative to invest is stronger than ever” said Dr Maria Neira, Director, WHO Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health. “We have seen improvements in WASH service levels over the last 10 years, but progress is uneven and insufficient”

Burden of disease attributable to unsafe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene: 2019 update presents estimates of the burden of disease attributable to unsafe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene for 183 WHO Member States disaggregated by region, age and sex for the year 2019. The estimates are based on four health outcomes – diarrhoea, acute respiratory infections, undernutrition, and soil-transmitted helminthiases.

Diarrhoeal disease accounted for most of the attributable burden, with over one million deaths and 55 million DALYs. The second largest contributor was acute respiratory infections from inadequate hand hygiene, which was linked to 356 000 deaths and 17 million DALYs.

Among children under five, unsafe WASH was responsible for 395 000 deaths and 37 million DALYs, representing 7.6% of all deaths and 7.5% of all DALYs in this age group. This included 273 000 deaths from diarrhoea and 112 000 deaths from acute respiratory infections.

These diseases are the top two infectious causes of death for children under five globally.

Important disparities were noted between regions and income groups. More than three-quarters of all WASH-attributable deaths occurred in the WHO African and South-East Asia regions, while 89% of attributable deaths were from low- and lower-middle income countries. However, even high-income countries are at risk, as 18% of their diarrhoeal disease burden could be prevented through improved hand hygiene practices.

While these estimates included four health outcomes for which data were available to quantify the impact, the true burden is likely to be much higher.

The impacts of unsafe WASH on health are wide-ranging and go beyond disease by affecting social and mental well-being. In addition, climate change is likely to exacerbate many WASH-related diseases and risks which are not fully captured in the present estimates.

To reduce the WASH-attributable burden of disease, WHO urges governments to take the following actions with support from UN agencies, multilateral partners, the private sector and civil society organizations:

Radically accelerate action to make safe WASH a reality for all.

The mid-term comprehensive review of the International Decade for Action Towards the Sustainable Development Goals saw renewed commitments from governments to accelerate progress towards the goal of universal access to safe WASH.

By quantifying for the first time the health gains associated with higher WASH service levels, the updated estimates provide strong evidence to support efforts to take these commitments to action.
Focus efforts on the poorest and most disadvantaged.

The burden of disease is largely driven by inadequate access in low- and middle- income countries, and national estimates on WASH access often hide disparities within countries. Access to WASH services is typically lower among rural populations and lower socio-economic groups.

Even in high-income countries, where access to safely managed drinking-water and sanitation services is generally high, certain marginalized communities are underserved and face higher risks.

Adapt national monitoring systems to improve data on population exposure to safely managed services.

Data on higher levels of WASH services remain sparse in many countries. Governments should adapt national and local monitoring systems taking into consideration the higher service levels called for in the SDG framework, enabling a more accurate reflection of the full burden of disease associated with unsafe WASH.

“It is clear that inadequate access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services continues to pose a significant, and preventable, health risk, particularly to the most vulnerable populations,” said Mr. Bruce Gordon, Head, WHO Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Health Unit. “The health benefits, as quantified in the report, are immense. Prioritizing those most in need is not just a moral imperative; it is key to addressing the disproportionate disease burden in low and middle-income countries and among marginalized groups in high-income countries.”

To support governments, WHO also today released a new tool to model disease impacts from different WASH scenarios. The tool will foster informed policy-making, guide targeted interventions, and support strategic resource allocation for WASH programming.

Blessing Mpofu caused drama when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Racheal Mukanga charged with theft.

She pleaded not guilty to the offence but was convicted after a full trial and sentenced to seven months imprisonment.

She was, however, spared jail agony when she was sentenced to pay a fine of US$100 or five months in prison.

Burial Of Wife of Dabengwa A Real Man Of God Who Never Touched RBZ Money, And Never Owned A Paedo Church Like ZAOGA

Contrasting Burials: Ezekiel Guti and Zodwa Dabengwa – A Tale of Controversy and Integrity

By Farai D Hove | The recent burials of Ezekiel Guti and Zodwa Dabengwa in Zimbabwe have sparked discussions and comparisons due to the stark differences in their legacies and the circumstances surrounding their lives. While Ezekiel Guti’s burial has been marred by allegations of financial impropriety, indifference towards victims of sexual abuse, and questionable associations, Zodwa Dabengwa’s burial stands as a testament to her unwavering principles and refusal to be associated with individuals accused of heinous crimes.

Ezekiel Guti’s Burial: Tainted Legacy:

Ezekiel Guti’s funeral was met with mixed reactions, with critics highlighting several contentious aspects of his life. One of the primary criticisms directed towards Guti is his alleged benefit from public funds through the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), which he failed to repay. This accusation has raised concerns about financial transparency and accountability, particularly given the economic challenges faced by the country.

Additionally, Ezekiel Guti faced severe criticism for his lack of action and protection towards victims of sexual abuse within his religious organization. His brother, Pastor Nelson Guti, was convicted of rape, yet Ezekiel Guti failed to address the issue adequately or support the victims. Such actions or lack thereof have sparked outrage and shed light on the need for stronger measures to protect the vulnerable and hold individuals accountable within religious institutions.

Furthermore, controversy surrounded Guti’s invitation to Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, to attend church meetings in the midst of a brutal crackdown on unarmed civilians in January 2019. Critics argue that by associating with a leader accused of human rights violations, Guti’s actions contradicted the principles of justice and compassion that should be upheld by spiritual leaders.

Zodwa Dabengwa’s Burial: A Stand for Integrity:

In contrast to Ezekiel Guti’s controversial legacy, Zodwa Dabengwa’s funeral celebrated her unwavering principles and commitment to justice. During the 1980s, when her husband, the late Dumiso Dabengwa, was imprisoned in Chikurubi Maximum Prison for political reasons, Zodwa Dabengwa refused to be associated with the ritual killings perpetrated by some of her husband’s comrades. Her refusal to compromise her integrity and distance herself from such atrocities stands as a testament to her moral character.

Zodwa Dabengwa’s decision to remain steadfast in her principles despite the potential consequences serves as an inspiration to many. In a society where individuals are often pressured to conform or remain silent in the face of injustice, Zodwa’s strength of character resonates as a powerful symbol of resistance.

The contrasting burials of Ezekiel Guti and Zodwa Dabengwa highlight the importance of individual choices and the impact they have on one’s legacy. Ezekiel Guti’s burial was overshadowed by allegations of financial impropriety, indifference towards victims of sexual abuse, and associations with controversial figures. In contrast, Zodwa Dabengwa’s funeral stood as a tribute to her unwavering integrity and refusal to be associated with heinous acts.

These burials serve as reminders that society needs individuals who uphold values of transparency, accountability, and justice. The legacies left behind by Guti and Dabengwa provide a clear distinction between those who compromise their principles for personal gain and those who stand resolute in the face of adversity. It is these individuals who serve as beacons of hope, guiding society toward a more just and ethical future.

Passion Java Endorses Nelson Chamisa Signature

Controversial ZANU PF Propagandist Passion Java Contradicts Himself, Endorses Nelson Chamisa’s Slogan

By Farai D Hove | In a surprising turn of events, Passion Java, a prominent figure associated with the ruling ZANU PF party and known for his controversial statements, shocked listeners during a radio program on state-owned Capital FM. The self-proclaimed tongue-talking prophet, who has been campaigning for President Mnangagwa ahead of the 2023 elections, unexpectedly endorsed Nelson Chamisa’s popular slogan, “God is in it.”

During the radio program, Java was responding to questions about his peculiar tongue-speaking phenomenon when he made the unexpected remark. “Other things, let’s play, but when it comes to God, let’s get serious,” said Passion Java. This statement caught the attention of both the listeners and the show’s presenter, who probed further.

The presenter asked, “But what happens when you end up saying ‘kubonya mbambaira’? What will be happening then?” In response, Java astonishingly claimed, “Those are tongues. Do you know I spoke those tongues saying ‘Mnangagwa jump into the field,’ and two months later, after arriving in Zimbabwe, I ate ‘mbambaira’ (sweet potatoes) inside State House with President Mnangagwa. God is in it,” he added.

Java’s endorsement of Chamisa’s slogan represents a significant shift in his public stance, given his close ties to the ruling party. It is important to note that Java has been actively campaigning for President Mnangagwa, which makes his support for Chamisa’s slogan all the more surprising. The ruling party has historically been at odds with the opposition leader, making Java’s endorsement even more controversial.

This development unfolds amidst another scandal involving Passion Java’s colleague, Uebert Angel. Angel, a prominent figure in religious circles and known for his association with Java, was recently humiliated in an investigative documentary titled “GoldMafia” by Al Jazeera Investigative Unit. The documentary exposed alleged gold smuggling and money laundering activities amounting to billions of dollars, implicating a notorious Mafia group.

As a consequence of the Al Jazeera investigation, Uebert Angel’s YouTube account has been shut down, raising questions about the veracity of the allegations leveled against him. The documentary has caused significant uproar in Zimbabwe, with calls for a thorough investigation into the claims and for those responsible to be held accountable.

These recent events involving Passion Java and Uebert Angel have further intensified the political and religious landscape in Zimbabwe. The contradictory statements made by Java, endorsing Chamisa’s slogan while actively campaigning for Mnangagwa, add an additional layer of intrigue to an already complex situation.

As Zimbabwe prepares for the 2023 elections, the actions and statements of influential figures like Passion Java and Uebert Angel continue to shape public opinion. The controversies surrounding them have raised questions about their motivations and their true allegiances, leaving the public divided and uncertain about who to trust in this critical political period.

It remains to be seen how these events will impact the upcoming elections and the political landscape in Zimbabwe as the nation grapples with the aftermath of the GoldMafia revelations and the surprising endorsement of Chamisa’s slogan by a prominent ZANU PF propagandist.

Chamisa Drags Bindura Police Boss To Court Over Banned Sunday Rally

By-The opposition CCC party has approached the High Court to challenge the decision by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to ban their 2023 elections campaign launch scheduled for 09 July in Bindura.
CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said they had initially approached the Magistrates Court to challenge the move by the Police, but after the lower court set the matter down for 11 July, the opposition party then approached the High Court. Said Mahere:
The Police unconstitutionally “banned” our Campaign Launch set for Sunday. Our lawyers immediately challenged the illegality.
The Magistrates’ Court erroneously set the matter down for 11 July (2 days after the rally) in violation of the Act. We’ve lodged an urgent review to the High Court.
In banning the CCC rally, Police said the venue selected by the opposition party has no access roads and water, exposing supporters to communicable diseases.
ZRP also said they were not given sufficient notice “as provided for in terms of the MOPA Act”, and advised CCC to find another venue and date for the event.
On Wednesday, police disrupted CCC’s Presidential Campaign Rally in Chiredzi, saying the party failed to comply with security requirements prescribed under section 8 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (Chapter 11:23).
Another CCC rally that was scheduled for Chivi Growth Point this Friday was also blocked by the Police who said the venue had already been booked by ZANU PF.

Voting For ED Is The Only Viable Option-Mavaza

By Dr Masimba Mavaza- As the August 23 elections draw nearer, Zimbabweans have high hopes it will be different this time.
While eleven presidential candidates are fighting for the sole ticket to the state house, only two candidates have established themselves as the frontrunners. The incumbent and hard-working President Mnangagwa, representing Zimbabwe’s leading and revolutionary ZANU-PF party, faced off against the overzealous Nelson Chamisa, leader of the CCC, an opposition outfit which has failed to produce a Constitution a month before the elections. The failure to practice democracy by CCC has raised serious questions on what will happen if, by a stroke of bad luck they win elections. Zimbabwe will kiss goodbye to democracy and the constitution.
The efforts of all Zimbabweans will be taken back to Stone Age, where voters will be asked to cure behind the selected candidate. Surely that will not be an option for Zimbabwe. This will leave Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa as the only viable option to take the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe position. One of the most significant positive aspects of Zimbabwe’s election is allowing Western observers to enter to monitor the elections but only reasonable observers. In previous elections, the main complaint was disorganization at some of the polls, where voters stood in long lines, and some waited up to six hours to cast their ballot. This time all locations, everything will run smoothly and on time. Thanks to the democratic gift gifted to ED. He fought for voting rights for all, and now he is honoured to participate in what he believes and fought for.

Zimbabweans of all ages are told lies by the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
The opposition has blamed the economic downturn on ZANU PF.
Their campaign message has been that ZANU PF has fronted corrupt cadres and is destroying the future of the youth.
The youth are told they are not employed because ZANU PF has mishandled the economy. CCC is preaching the message of hate and hoping that Zimbabweans can be fooled.
The opposition, in particular Nelson Chamisa, has told his supporters at rallies that he will develop the country in three months if he is given a chance to govern Zimbabwe.
He told his supporters he would have white people rushing back to develop Zimbabwe’s economy.
Chamisa said this will only be possible if he is elected President of Zimbabwe. Nobody knows which fiction book he read.
The youth and Zimbabweans must accept reality: Our economy cannot be developed in three days.
We must realize that since the New Dispensation came into office, its most cherished wish and desire, for which President Mnangagwa and his team laboured with vigour and passion unceasingly, with firm determination, is to raise the standard of living for all Zimbabweans and create jobs.
This drives the President, who has set the country on a course of transformation into an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
This target is indeed a possibility and not fiction which is being sold to the electorate y CCC.
Every day, Zimbabweans see the works of ED coming to fruition with great satisfaction.
We must all realize that development is a process and can not be weaponized as a regime change weapon.
This can be seen through the work being undertaken by the New Dispensation.
We must be guided by the Chinese history of economic growth.
Chinese development was not an overnight event. And, like the Chinese, the President is saying as Zimbabweans, it is our duty to build our own nation.
Sanctions will not deter our resilience and fighting spirit.
Brick by brick, we are building Zimbabwe.
In his first term as the President, MNANGAGWA showered Zimbabwe with development, which can be seen. Zimbabwe built more dams in the first term of MNANGAGWA than built in 38 years.
People must not be fooled by the rhetoric coming from the CCC, whose promise is that the West will come with money and build our country. We can look to Libya and Iraq to see the great works of the West. That is what CHAMISA wishes for Zimbabwe.
This party has no plan and wants to take over with no clear ideas no constitution and only hoping that the West will come and repeat Libya on us.
We must be comforted by the fact that we are already food secure as a result of the dams that have or are being constructed and the ongoing empowerment of farmers.
Zimbabweans will demonstrate their hopes and enthusiasm at the polls. We must see all registered voters to show up and endorse Emerson Mnangagwa with such force which will shake the CCC in the political abyss. This high voter turnout will be another example of the positive aspects of Zimbabwe’s election, an indication of an educated and receptive electorate thanks to ED who opened the democratic space.
Unde MNANGAGWA Zimbabwe will preside over a relatively free and fair election. There are no signs of intimidation or bribery. The accusations of vote-rigging meant to trigger opposition supporters to take to the streets will not be tolerated.
President ED’s administration has introduced smart agriculture and has also given inputs and livestock to capable farmers to revamp the sector.
Clearly, Zimbabwe is under new management which is driving an aggressive economic recovery programme. Electricity has been restored and blackouts are now things of the past.
Economic recovery follows a period of recession.
Normally, during an economic recovery, gross domestic product (GDP) grows, incomes rise and unemployment falls as the economy rebounds.
Only this month, the civil service is employing thousands of teachers and nurses and several positions are being filled.
The army the police and prisons are recruiting and still recruiting.

The police and other security organizations have employed thousands of youths.
It must be understood that during an economic recovery, the economy undergoes a process of adaptation and adjustment to new conditions. This involves addressing the factors that triggered the recession in the first place and the adoption of new policies in response to the recession.
As a result, things were tough during the first two years of the new dispensation.
But it was only when things get tough that the tough gets going.
The labour, capital goods and other productive resources that were tied up in businesses that failed and went under during the recession are being re-employed in new activities as unemployed workers find new jobs and failed firms are bought up.
Recovery is an economy healing itself from damage, and it sets the stage for growth and expansion. Industries are being raised from the graves and the Zimbabwean Engine is now roaring. The driver must not be changed but allowed to steer the country to higher ground.

Expansion is the phase of the business cycle where the real gross domestic product (GDP) grows for two or more consecutive quarters, moving from a trough to a peak.
Expansion is typically accompanied by a rise in employment and consumer confidence.
This phase lasts, on average, for about four to five years, but can go up to more than a decade.  This is why ED must be allowed to see his work through. We do not change a winning team. Focusing on interest rates and capital expenditure can help investors determine where we are in the business cycle.
Zimbabwe has had only three years of changing everything ranging from the economy to education and at the same time maintaining law and order.
Remember, all this is being done under the regime of unlawful sanctions.
Zimbabweans must not be fooled.
Development is not miracle money; it is a process.
Whoever promises overnight change is lying.
Despite the issues, the incumbent Mnangagwa has managed to preside over unprecedented developments.
As President, Mnangagwa’s main focus has been on reviving the country’s devastated economy through much-needed reforms. By reestablishing relations with the international community, he reversed the isolationist attitudes. The ZANU PF government has reopened industries and is currently investing in organizations such as The Cold Storage Company to help boost production for the meat industry. these changes have created jobs for Zimbabweans. In the first term in office, ED has tackled rampant corruption and arresting several high-profile offenders, including those within his own cabinet. During a three-month amnesty period, he even encouraged corrupt officials to return money taken illegally and millions of dollars were repatriated home. Reducing corruption is necessary to improve life for Zimbabweans as well as to attract foreign businesses. For similar reasons, Mnangagwa has made trade deals with Belarus, China and Russia. A commission with a South African rail company will have the dual benefit of improving transportation and increasing investment. Mnangagwa has outlined many positive plans for the future of Zimbabwe. In the first term, he made good on his word, which has been another of the many positive aspects of Zimbabwe’s election.
Leading indicators such as the stock market, retail sales and the establishment of new businesses often become apparent ahead of an economic recovery.
During an economic recovery, central banks may enact monetary policies aimed at increasing the money supply and encouraging lending. Over the past three years, ZANU PF has successfully set the economy on the recovery stage.
President ED is a mature person and will not promise miracles, but he will ask you to gird your loins and fight.
Economic recovery is a war we must all fight. It is not fought by changing governments.  It is fought and won by supporting the government.
This is why we should vote for ZANU PF and continue with the great transformation of our country.
We must always remember that the process of recovery has ups and downs.
Zimbabweans need a mindset change and desist from looking to the West for help.
Zambia changed presidents, but there are no investors flocking into the country.
Tanzania changed presidents but there are no white men rushing in with wads of cash.
Chamisa’s promises are fake.
In fact, he does not understand the development that has been ushered in by ZANU PF.
He sees them as failures.
The coming elections should test our foresight as a nation.
As we make a decision on who to vote for, we must remember that President ED is Number One.
This is the time for the youth to learn the truth.  There will never be a miracle recovery.
ZANU PF has set the economy of the course to recovery.
If you want to be employed, allow President ED to finish what he started.
Vote ZANU PF and help Zimbabwe reclaim its bread-basket status.
Zimbabwe is the only country that we can call ours.
Iwe neni tine basa!

Vote Out Merchants Of Violence, Roman Catholic Tells Zimbabwean Voters

THE Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC), one of the fierce critics of government maladministration during the late former President Robert Mugabe’s era, has urged the electorate to vote out merchants of violence in the August 23 general elections.

The call by the Catholic priests came amid increasing reports of political violence in some parts of the country, mostly rural areas.

In a pastoral letter released on Wednesday, the ZCBC said political parties and politicians who perpetrated violence did not deserve to be voted into public office.

“Any party or politician that incites violence or persuades you to join in violent attacks, it’s not worthy your vote.

“Give your vote to those who deserve it,” the bishops said.

“It is your right and duty as citizens that you vote, in so doing, you determine the nation that you want, you choose its leaders for the next five years.

“Your vote is your personal decision and an expression of your freedom.

“Do not be intimidated, coerced, or manipulated to vote against your will.

“Refuse to be used in violent attacks against your fellow brothers and sisters.”

Their call for peace follow reports of intimidation and victimisation of villagers by two shadowy Zanu PF affiliates, Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) and Heritage Trust — both linked to State security agencies.

FAZ and Heritage Trust are reportedly co-ordinating the ruling party’s campaigns to ensure President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s re-election.

According to reports, villagers were being forced to attend Zanu PF meetings.

Zanu PF has denied the charges, and accused the opposition of making false reports out of fear of an election defeat on August 23 with Mnangagwa saying the ruling party is “unstoppable”.

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa, has, however, urged his supporters to adopt a “green outside, yellow inside concept” where they pretend to be Zanu PF members and attend the ruling party’s campaign programmes, but vote for the opposition on election day.

The Catholic bishops urged politicians to act responsibly to ensure peace prevails before, during and after the polls.

“You have a huge responsibility for the lives of our people,” the bishops said.

“In these weeks you have spaces and the power to influence the citizens.

“Exercise this privilege responsibly.

“You need no reminder from us of the power of speech. Words have potential to build and destroy.

“Be responsible in your utterances. Work to build and promote peace.

“Avoid the use of inflammatory politically charged and derogatory language.”

The bishops urged the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) to address concerns raised by citizens on issues under its jurisdiction. They urged the media to provide balanced and fair coverage for all political parties.

Zimbabwe has a history of holding violent and disputed elections, the worst being in 2008 when over 200 MDC supporters were left dead after Zanu PF unleashed an orgy of violence to ensure Mugabe retained power.

In 2018, at least six opposition supporters were shot dead while several others were injured in post-election violence.

WestProp Turning Greenwood Park Into A Lifestyle Theme Park

By A Correspondent| WestProp Holdings is turning the Greenwood Park into a lifestyle theme park helping to complete the live, work, shop and play environment for the communities living around the park.

There is a nearby shopping centre – Five Avenue Mall, office and residential buildings around the park.

CEO Mr Ken Sharpe said he was replicating the model that is now synonymous with all WestProp developments to Greenwood Park to provide residents in the avenues a recreation facility.

“We prioritise the safety of the residents and park patrons. We are responding to community needs. The community has requested lighting and we are installing five solar lights,” he said

Mr Sharpe who led a team from WestProp in participating in the National Clean-Up campaign that falls on the first Friday of each month was happy with the revamp of the children’s play centre whose facilities had completely broken down.

“Children are at the hearty of what we do. We realise they are children today but our leaders tomorrow. A better future for any child is shaped from infancy through the growth stages. We are playing our part.

Just yesterday we handed some educational books to Bromley Primary School. We have paid fees to hundreds of children this year,” he said emphasizing the company’s human capacity development thrust.

The park is now resourced with 14 friend benches up from seven last month. More are expected to decorate the huge park that will soon rank as the most user friendly multi use park owing to WestProp.

The company dedicates 10 percent of its profits to corporate social responsibility activities that include care for children, widows, cancer patients and lately rehabilitation of community facilities such as the Greenwood Park.

The decision to rehabilitate Greenwood followed a visit to the park last year during which time he noticed that the park was losing its beauty and appeal.

WestProp believes that once the park is beautified it will rekindle memories and help attract tourists to Harare. The park is adorned by the beautiful jacaranda trees which always come to life when they bloom purple from September to end of October.

“This is part of our giving back to the Harare community in which our business operates,” said Mr Sharpe.

WestProp are the developers of premium luxury lifestyle mixed use estates that include Pomona City, Millennium Park that encompasses Pokugara, Millennium Heights and the soon to come to shape Mall of Zimbabwe.

E-Creator Founder Vanishes With Millions Of USD

THE founder of an online Ponzi scheme, E-Creator, has left his clients seething with anger after duping them of large sums of money before vanishing.

In a statement issued to clients yesterday, E-Creator said the company’s founder Zhao Jiaotong, had fled the country with their savings.

“Due to his departure, E-creator was forced to close. He has more than US$1 million on him. If you find him at the airport or on the border road, you will get back the money you lost. Let us all find him and get back the money that belongs to us,” the company’s employees said.

Jiaotong later posted on Twitter saying he was now in Beijing, China.

Prior to the heist, E-Creator members had struggled to withdraw their funds with the company attributing the setback to alleged upgrades on the EcoCash Merchant platform.

E-Creator was registered as a limited liability company in Zimbabwe, displaying a certificate of incorporation on its website.

The company was registered on February 7, 2023.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi yesterday said he was still gathering information on the matter.

Under the scheme, for one to become a VIP 1 employee for E-Creator, they are supposed to pay US$15 with a promise of a US$50 dividend.

A VIP 2 employee required a minimum of US$100 and a maximum recharge of US$500 while VIP 3 employees needed a minimum of US$500 to get US$2 000.

To upgrade an account, it was mandatory that one had to invite a certain number of people to join the e-company.

A ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that pays existing investors with funds collected from new investors.

In many ponzi schemes, the fraudsters do not invest the money, leaving their clients counting losses. Commentator, Effie Ncube, said poverty was driving Zimbabweans into get-rich-quick schemes, in the process exposing themselves to scammers.

“Poverty, hunger and unemployment are collectively undermining people’s due diligence,” Ncube said.

“Instead of them double checking advertised quick riches they just fall for them and this will continue to be the case until the economic crisis is addressed.”

This is not the first time that Zimbabweans have been duped in ponzi schemes. In 2021, at least 10 000 citizens lost a total of US$30 million after “investing” large sums of money in pyramid schemes, which later collapsed.

According to police, some families sold their houses, vehicles and other valuable property to invest in pyramid schemes run by scammers, mostly through social media platforms, especially WhatsApp groups.

Police have in the past warned against such dubious investments.

Dont Give Him Another Term, Says Busha Of Mnangagwa

Free Zim Congress presidential candidate Joseph Makamba Busha says President Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed to respect the Constitution and should not get another five year term to govern Zimbabwe.

Busha was launching his party’s campaign manifesto and introducing a few candidates who successfully filed for parliamentary posts in the upcoming plebiscite.

He told journalists once in power, his ambition is to make sure Zimbabweans redo the constitution.

“Is President Mnangagwa upholding the constitution? Section 103 and 104 and 106 talks about a President who should be able to respect the constitution.

“It talks about the responsibilities of ministries. The Vice President (Constantino Chiwenga) and ministers cannot hold any two public offices.

“However, we are aware that the VP is the Health minister and that is against the constitution. This has been like that for five years. Do we want to give the President another five years of disrespecting the constitution and not being able to obey the supreme law of the nation?” Busha said.

The Presidential aspirant argued that the Constitution must be changed because of its interference by the President in the governance of rural folks by chiefs.

“I believe that the constitution must be changed because it allows the President to interfere with traditional leadership.

“Traditional leaders must be independent and freely represent the people,” added Busha.

Chiefs including their leader Fortune Charumbira have in the past “illegally” canvassed for the ruling Zanu-PF.

Busha added: “When ministers are part of Parliament, they cannot be held accountable. That separation of responsibilities must be realised.

“As a nation we are swimming in corruption and unemployment because ministers are not accountable. There should be separation of responsibilities between them and parliament.

“Ministers cannot be members of Parliament because they are conflicted. This is why the ministers have failed to explain the US$15 billion that went missing. They cannot explain under- development in our country.”

Zanu PF Conniving With Police To Block Kasukuwere

Zanu PF yesterday vowed that exiled former party commissar Saviour Kasukuwere will not be part of this year’s presidential race unless he has been cleared by the police and Judiciary.

Kasukuwere, also known as Tyson in Zanu PF circles, has been in exile in South Africa since the 2017 coup that removed the late former President Robert Mugabe.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi recently said Kasukuwere had two pending warrants of arrest for absconding court and failing to surrender his passport to the clerk of court.

Justice ministry secretary Virginia Mabhiza last week told State media that Kasukuwere would face justice once he set foot in Zimbabwe.

But Kasukuwere’s chief election agent, lawyer Jacqueline Sande, has dismissed the allegations saying her client had no pending cases.

The former Cabinet minister is set to contest the August 23 elections as an independent presidential candidate. He will cross words with 10 other candidates among them the incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zanu PF) and Nelson Chamisa (CCC).

Yesterday, Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa told journalists in Harare that Kasukuwere was aware of his pending cases, hence delays in coming to Zimbabwe to launch his presidential campaign.

“We are in the midst of our campaign and Kasukuwere is a non-existent candidate. I repeat he is a non-existent candidate. There are many things he knows he has done and is a thug and the Zimbabwe intelligence services have many things to question him about,” Mutsvangwa said.

“There is no voting booth at the SABC. He appeared on the SABC to impress his funders. You see your image in the mirror of SABC, but you are not present in the country where our President Emmerson Mnangagwa is stamping the ground in Zimbabwe.”

Addressing the media in South Africa last week, exiled former Cabinet minister Walter Mzembi said Kasukuwere was unmoved by the threats.

“No amount of intimidation and weaponisation of the law will intimidate Kasukuwere. He is going to be in Harare,” Mzembi, who is the chairperson of Kasukuwere’s campaign team, said.

Reports indicate that there is panic in Zanu PF over Kasukuwere’s return over fears that he may eat into the ruling party’s votes in the polls.

Sources said Kasukuwere has been making inroads into Zanu PF strongholds targeting disgruntled members at a time when the ruling party is divided following chaotic primary elections held in March this year.

Godfrey Tsenengamu, a former Zanu PF youth boss, told journalists on Tuesday that they had mobilised disgruntled Zanu PF members to rally behind Kasukuwere’s candidature.

He cited former Zanu PF Mutare North MP Batsirai Pemhenayi whom he said was recruited to mobilise support in Manicaland.

Pemhenayi lost in the Zanu PF Mutare North primary elections to Admire Mahachi.

“Comrade Batsirai Pemhenayi has started mobilising some disgruntled party members in the ruling party to join independent candidate Saviour Kasukuwere’s campaign trail,” Tsenengamu said

“Comrade Jim Kunaka (former Zanu PF youth member) is in charge of organisation and mobilisation this campaign where he is in charge of three provinces — Mashonaland Central, West and Harare.”

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC) has appealed to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) to deliver free and fair elections on August 23.

“To Zec: to you is given the important mandate of preparing, facilitating and delivering credible, free and fair elections… work to deliver on your mandate. Attend to the concerns that the citizens are raising and address them. Be people of absolute integrity and objectivity,” the ZCBC statement read.

Guti A Humble Man: Mnangagwa

President Mnangagwa mourns Archbishop Guti

We publish below President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s condolence message following the passing on of Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti:

The news of the passing on yesterday of Archbishop Dr Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti left me deeply shattered and saddened. Nearly two months ago, on May 14, I joined countless congregants of the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa, ZAOGA Forward in Faith, and many eminent Zimbabweans in celebrating 100 years of his devout life so eventfully lived. Beyond celebrating the gift of life, we, in unison, basked in the joy and belief that our Nation stood uniquely blest and favoured by the Almighty to have in its midst such a great figure who personified longevity, tenacious faith, compassion and a givenness to serving mankind, especially in the broad areas of human development, as never witnessed before. Sadly, that joy has now turned short-lived, leaving our Nation all the poorer and plunged in profound grief.

A humble man of deep scriptural convictions, Archbishop Dr Ezekiel Guti lived his Faith. Today his works and footprints indelibly abound across the length and breadth of our Nation, well beyond the vast, national movement of congregants and places of worship which he led. He built institutions and led interventions which positively impacted the social life of the broad citizenry of our Nation. A strong proponent of education for his African brethren, Dr Guti leaves behind countless educational institutions that he painstakingly built and incrementally scaffolded, leading to the iconic Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University.

Never has so much been developed and achieved from so little and slander means, only compensated for by so big a heart, so abundant faith and sheer determination. Today the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University ranks high among private institutions which dispense higher education to our Nation, and certainly stands apart as the only one founded and developed from efforts of indigenous Pentecostal evangelism.

In the health sector, the Mbuya Dorcas Hospital which Dr Guti and Amai, Apostle Eunor Guti, founded, stands prominent in national health delivery, forever bearing testimony to how a Couple of deep faith saves many lives, thus becoming a wonderful blessing to a people and a whole Nation.

As our hearts grieve over Dr Guti’s sad demise, still we celebrate a life well lived and the numerous wondrous gifts of social development he bequeathed to our Nation. Above all, we cherish the rare example of excelling practical faith, and the deep humanity which he personified.

On behalf of our Nation which he served with all his heart and soul, that of Government, my Family and on my own behalf, I wish to express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to the Zimbabwean Church Fraternity, and the Guti Family, especially to Apostle Eunor Guti and the children, on this their saddest loss.

May they derive solace and comfort from the knowledge that our Nation which is immeasurably indebted to the late departed, stands with them during this hour of deep grief and bereavement, and will forever be inspired by Dr Guti’s deep faith and indelible works whose wholesome impact on numerous lives is already recorded, and will remain assured across generations to come.

We beseech God the Almighty to grant this great man eternal rest in the life beyond.

Teacher Killed By Curable Fibroids | VIDEO

Tragic Death of Norton Teacher Highlights Healthcare Crisis in Zimbabwe

By Farai D Hove | Norton, Zimbabwe – The untimely death of Mrs. Teclar Muganhu, a beloved teacher in Norton, has left the community in shock and mourning. Mrs. Muganhu passed away due to complications arising from fibroids, a condition that is usually treatable with proper medical care. However, her demise has shed light on the dire healthcare situation in the country, with a local resident expressing anguish over the lack of essential medicines in Zimbabwean hospitals.

The somber moment unfolded in Maridale Ward 12 of Norton as the community came together to lay Mrs. Muganhu to rest. Her husband, Mr. Muganhu, who works as a Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) inspector and hails from Chikwakwa in Chimanimani, now faces the devastating loss of his wife due to a medical condition that should have been manageable.

Fibroids are benign tumors that develop in the uterus and affect a significant number of women worldwide. While they can cause discomfort and various complications, including heavy bleeding and pain, effective treatments are available to alleviate symptoms and prevent severe consequences. Sadly, Mrs. Muganhu’s situation deteriorated due to the lack of essential medicines and resources in Zimbabwean hospitals.

A local resident, deeply moved by the tragic loss, expressed the collective sentiment of the community. They highlighted the pain experienced when witnessing a fellow community member’s life cut short due to the scarcity of vital medications. The resident stressed the urgent need for improved healthcare services, emphasizing that no one should have to suffer and die unnecessarily from conditions that can be effectively managed.

Zimbabwe has been grappling with a healthcare crisis for years, marked by inadequate funding, limited resources, and a shortage of medical professionals. These challenges have resulted in substandard healthcare facilities, insufficient medical supplies, and prolonged waiting times for patients seeking treatment.

The heartbreaking loss of Mrs. Muganhu underscores the urgent need for the government and healthcare authorities to address these issues and prioritize the well-being of its citizens. Access to essential medicines and quality healthcare services should be a fundamental right for every Zimbabwean.

The community of Norton, in mourning, stands united in demanding change. They hope that Mrs. Muganhu’s tragic passing will serve as a wake-up call for policymakers, urging them to allocate sufficient resources, improve healthcare infrastructure, and ensure the availability of essential medications across the country.

As Zimbabweans continue to grapple with the healthcare crisis, the memory of Mrs. Teclar Muganhu will be etched in the hearts of her students, colleagues, friends, and family. Her untimely demise serves as a painful reminder of the urgent need for a comprehensive overhaul of the healthcare system, ensuring that no more lives are lost due to treatable conditions. VIDEO

Mthuli Rushes To Provide Free WIFI Days Before Cowdray’s Entangle With Him

Analyzing the Sincerity of Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s Free WIFI Initiative in Cowdray Park

By Farai D Hove | ANALYSIS | Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s sudden provision of free WIFI to Cowdray Park residents, just six weeks into the election campaign, has raised questions about the sincerity of his intentions. This article aims to critically analyze the situation, considering the context of the minister’s past actions and the motivations behind this recent development.

Past Economic Challenges

It is important to acknowledge that Mthuli Ncube’s tenure as Finance Minister has been marked by economic difficulties, with the country’s bank account reaching alarming levels. Zimbabwe has faced significant inflation, resulting in the erosion of citizens’ purchasing power and a decline in living standards. The dire financial situation has also impacted the healthcare system, where doctors have been paid meager salaries, exacerbating the country’s socio-economic challenges.

Timing and Political Motivations

The sudden provision of free WIFI to Cowdray Park residents, conveniently timed during the election campaign, raises suspicions about the Finance Minister’s motivations. It is crucial to question why such an initiative was not implemented earlier during his tenure. The timing suggests a political strategy aimed at winning favor with the electorate and potentially influencing their voting decisions.

Positive Testimonials and State Media Coverage

The state-owned Herald newspaper’s coverage, featuring testimonials from Mthuli Ncube’s employees dewcribed as neighbours in Cowdray Park, raises concerns about biased reporting. It is essential to critically evaluate the objectivity of the newspaper’s coverage, as it may be influenced by political agendas. The inclusion of positive testimonials may serve as a tool to create an illusion of widespread support and satisfaction with the Finance Minister’s actions.

Community Development Projects

While the provision of free WIFI is a positive development for Cowdray Park, it is crucial to consider it within the broader context of community development projects. The article highlights water supply improvements, road infrastructure enhancements, and youth initiatives. These projects may indeed have a positive impact on the community. However, it is important to assess whether they are driven by genuine concern for the residents or if they serve as a strategic move to secure electoral support.

Residency and Personal Connection

Mthuli Ncube’s decision to reside in Cowdray Park and personally engage with its residents is commendable. It indicates a willingness to understand their needs and implement solutions. However, this move should not overshadow the overall assessment of his sincerity and commitment to the constituency. It is crucial to determine if his residency and personal connection are long-term commitments or merely a temporary strategy during the election period.

Promoting Youth Engagement and Combating Substance Abuse

The Finance Minister’s emphasis on creating opportunities for youth engagement and addressing issues of substance abuse is a positive step. However, it is essential to evaluate the concrete actions taken and the long-term sustainability of these initiatives. Collaborations with relevant government departments and the establishment of drug rehabilitation centers are positive intentions, but their actual implementation and effectiveness need to be monitored closely.

Conclusion

While the provision of free WIFI and other community development projects in Cowdray Park is a positive step, skepticism remains regarding Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s sincerity and motivations. The timing of the initiative, coupled with the state-owned media’s biased coverage, raises concerns about political maneuvering. It is important for the residents of Cowdray Park to critically evaluate the long-term commitment and effectiveness of these initiatives beyond the election period. Transparent monitoring and evaluation mechanisms should be in place to ensure that promises are fulfilled and genuine development occurs in the constituency.

ZANU PF Hatched Up E Creator Ponzi Scheme

ZANU PF Party Institutions and the E-Creator Ponzi Scheme: Analyzing the Facilitating Factors

Zimbabwe recently witnessed the collapse of yet another massive Ponzi scheme called E-Creator, which left hundreds of people, including small businesspersons and individuals, devastated after losing their hard-earned money. The role of the ruling party, ZANU PF, and its institutions in facilitating the creation and promotion of this fraudulent scheme is a topic of concern. Despite controlling the ZBC broadcaster, which allowed E-Creator to be promoted, the party has denied any involvement. This article aims to analyze the possible role of ZANU PF party institutions in the E-Creator Ponzi scheme.

The Nature of the E-Creator Ponzi Scheme

E-Creator was an online Ponzi scheme that promised high monthly returns to investors, relying on a classic pyramid structure. Participants were required to invest varying amounts of money, with the promise of substantial profits in return. The scheme operated through EcoCash accounts, which added a layer of complexity to the investigation. Ultimately, the scheme collapsed when the founder, Zhao Jiaotong, allegedly fled with over US$1 million, leaving many investors empty-handed.

ZANU PF Party Institutions and the E-Creator Ponzi Scheme

1. Promotion on ZBC Broadcaster

One aspect that raises questions about the role of ZANU PF is the promotion of E-Creator on the ZBC broadcaster. As the ruling party controls the channel, it is unlikely that such promotions could occur without their knowledge or tacit approval. The ZBC’s involvement in promoting a fraudulent scheme raises concerns about the integrity of the party’s institutions and their commitment to protecting the public from financial scams.

2. Lack of Regulatory Oversight

Another issue that points to the potential involvement of ZANU PF party institutions is the lack of regulatory oversight and enforcement against Ponzi schemes. Zimbabwe has witnessed several instances of pyramid schemes defrauding citizens, with losses totaling millions of dollars. The failure to take strong action against such schemes suggests a lack of commitment to protecting the public and may indicate a lenient approach towards fraudulent activities.

3. Absence of Investor Protection Measures

The collapse of E-Creator highlights the absence of adequate investor protection measures in Zimbabwe. While Ponzi schemes are inherently fraudulent and illegal, it is the responsibility of the government and its institutions to protect citizens from such scams. The failure to prevent the proliferation of Ponzi schemes and to educate the public about the risks involved suggests a systemic problem within ZANU PF party institutions.

4. Alleged Involvement of Party Officials

Although the founder of E-Creator, Zhao Jiaotong, remains elusive and the scheme’s legitimacy is questionable, there are reports suggesting the involvement of ZANU PF party officials in the promotion of the scheme. Interviews conducted by individuals claiming to be associated with E-Creator, such as Justin Kuchekenya and Abraham Mutambu, raise suspicions about the knowledge and involvement of party members in the scheme. Further investigations are necessary to establish the extent of their involvement.

Conclusion

While concrete evidence linking ZANU PF party institutions to the creation and facilitation of the E-Creator Ponzi scheme is yet to emerge, there are indications that raise concerns about their role in promoting fraudulent activities. The promotion of the scheme on the ZBC broadcaster and the alleged involvement of party officials suggest a level of complicity that cannot be ignored. To protect the public and restore trust, it is imperative that authorities thoroughly investigate the matter and take appropriate action against those responsible. Additionally, stronger regulations and investor protection measures need to be implemented to prevent future Ponzi schemes from exploiting vulnerable individuals and damaging Zimbabwe’s economy.- State Media/Additional

Mugabe’s Love For Kumusha And Condom Confusion

By Dorrothy Moyo | Robert Mugabe, the late former President of Zimbabwe, was known for his affinity for spending time at his rural home, affectionately referred to as kumusha. In a candid account by his nephew, Robert Zhuwao, we gain insights into Mugabe’s fondness for being surrounded by family and the challenges one could face when summoned by him. This particular story revolves around a condom mishap that led to an unexpected encounter with the formidable leader.

Kumusha: A Place of Family and Joy

According to Zhuwao, Mugabe relished the simple pleasures of life when at home or kumusha. He encouraged family members to visit, and his wife, Grace Mugabe, affectionately known as Gogo Grace, delighted in hosting them. Family gatherings at kumusha were filled with love, warmth, and the irresistible aroma of delicious meals. Gogo Grace would insist that no one leaves without having a satisfying meal, especially if they had traveled a long distance.

The Fear of Being Summoned

While visiting Mugabe at kumusha was a pleasant experience, being summoned by him could strike fear in the heart of mischievous individuals like Zhuwao. However, Gogo Grace often covered for him, considering him a “brother” as a member of the Mwenewazvo clan, giving him a fleeting sense of authority and protection in Mugabe’s presence. On rare occasions, Zhuwao would push his luck, attempting to challenge the authority of his revered sekuru, only to be swiftly reminded of his place with a mere glance. Such was the power and respect commanded by Robert Mugabe.

The Unexpected Call Home

One day, Zhuwao received an unexpected call while in South Africa. His first wife, alarmed by the discovery of a pack of condoms hidden in the fuse box of Zhuwao’s new car, had reported the incident to Mugabe. Concerned about the potential scandal, Mugabe instructed Zhuwao to immediately return and present himself before him.

The Anxious Journey Home

Filled with dread, Zhuwao hastily caught a plane back to Zimbabwe. The usually long flight seemed unusually short, and the drive from the airport to his home felt interminable. His mind raced with thoughts of how to explain the presence of the condoms in his car, unaware of the source of the misunderstanding.

Facing Mugabe’s Judgment

Upon arriving at Mugabe’s home, Zhuwao found himself seated across from the formidable leader during dinner. Gogo Grace was absent, leaving Zhuwao to face his fate alone. Determined to maintain his composure, Zhuwao attempted to act confidently and jolly, but his nerves betrayed him. A series of clumsy mishaps, including spilling water and gravy, revealed his inner turmoil.

The Condom Confusion Unraveled

As the tension mounted, Zhuwao blurted out an ill-conceived explanation, claiming that he had sold the condoms as a sample. This only infuriated Mugabe further. Unbeknownst to Zhuwao, Mugabe’s background in law made him acutely aware of inconsistencies and loopholes. The questioning intensified as Zhuwao struggled to provide satisfactory answers, ultimately choosing silence as his best defense.

Lessons Learned and Humility Gained

After a thorough scolding, Zhuwao was released with a stern warning to find a different line of business and to refrain from causing trouble within the family. The incident left him humbled and with a newfound appreciation for the consequences of his actions. The encounter also highlighted the authority and intellect of Mugabe, reminding Zhuwao that he should never underestimate his uncle’s wisdom and discernment.

Conclusion

The story shared by Robert Zhuwao provides a glimpse into the personal side of Robert Mugabe’s life and his love for kumusha. It also demonstrates the challenges and consequences that could arise from a simple misunderstanding. Despite the mishap, Zhuwao’s account reflects the enduring respect and admiration he held for his uncle, highlighting the formidable presence Mugabe commanded both as a leader and within his family.

Mnangagwa Statement On Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti Death

ZBC News

Chamisa Challenges Bindura Rally Ban

By-The Nelson Chamisa-led opposition CCC party has approached the High Court to challenge the decision by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to ban their 2023 elections campaign launch scheduled for 09 July in Bindura.

Police Block Three (3) Chamisa Rallies In One Week

By James Gwati-The Police have banned three rallies CCC rallies within a space of seven days.

The first was a disrupted Wednesday of CCC’s Presidential Campaign Rally in Chiredzi, saying the party failed to comply with security requirements prescribed under section 8 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act.

This was followed by banning another rally scheduled for Chivi Growth Point today, Friday, for what the Police said Zanu PF had already booked the venue.

The latest is banning the party’s 2023 elections campaign in Mashonaland Central capital, Bindura, on Sunday.

The Police banned this rally, saying that the venue selected by the Nelson Chamisa-led party had no access to roads and water and would expose supporters to infectious diseases.

Red Flag On Sithule Tshuma’s Qoki Southern African Bank

Johannesburg, South Africa – Questions have been raised by investors on the idea behind Sithule Tshuma’s selection of a group of about 20 women, mainly from the diaspora, to form a Qoki Bank project in South Africa, Botswana, South Sudan and Zimbabwe.

The motive behind the establishment of this financial institution remains unknown, with stakeholders and investors now suspecting that this Qoki bank might have been one of its director’s Idea, Karen Kumalo, as she is the ‘Qoki Banking Guru’, the ‘7 streams of income Guru’.

Stockholders have not seen the benefits of this investment, leading them to suspect that they have fallen into yet another fraudulent scheme.

Below are some of the internationally accepted reasons for people or Governments to establish Banks:

Financial Inclusion: By establishing a new bank, the aim is to bridge the gap and provide access to affordable banking products and services to individuals and businesses currently excluded from the traditional banking system.

Competition and Innovation: Introducing a new player in the banking industry will foster healthy competition and encourage innovation. This move will motivate existing banks to improve their services, introduce new technologies, and develop innovative financial solutions to remain competitive in the market.

Economic Growth and Investment: The formation of a new bank will facilitate increased lending and capital flow into key sectors of the economy. This infusion of funds is expected to stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and attract local and foreign investments.

As part of investors in the Qoki Bank, one of the issues some have pondered on is the prerequisites of forming a new bank. It’s been over three years since Tshuma applied for the Qoki Banking licence via an agent. Outlined below are some of the prerequisites of setting up a Bank:

Financial Stability and Capital Requirements: Prospective banks must demonstrate a solid financial foundation and meet the minimum capital requirements set by the regulatory authorities. This ensures the institution’s ability to withstand financial shocks and adequately support its operations and customers.

Governance and Management: The proposed bank must have a robust governance framework and a competent management team. The individuals involved should possess extensive banking experience and a track record of ethical practices to ensure responsible and effective management of the institution.

Technology and Infrastructure: Embracing modern technology and having a reliable infrastructure is crucial for the success of the new bank. It should have the necessary systems in place to provide efficient online and mobile banking services, robust security measures, and seamless integration with payment networks.

For example, establishing a new bank in any country, like South Africa, involves a thorough vetting process to ensure regulatory compliance and safeguard the interests of depositors and the financial system. The critical steps in the vetting process include:

Application Submission: Interested parties or organizations must submit a comprehensive application to the relevant regulatory authorities, such as the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and the Prudential Authority (PA). The application should include detailed information about the proposed bank’s business model, governance structure, financial projections, and risk management strategies.

Due Diligence and Assessment: The regulatory authorities conduct a rigorous assessment of the application, examining the proposed bank’s financial viability, management capabilities, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and alignment with the government’s financial inclusion objectives.

Approval and Licensing: If the application meets the necessary criteria and successfully passes the vetting process, the regulatory authorities grant approval and issue a banking license. This license authorizes the new bank to operate within the specified regulatory framework and offer banking services to the public.

In Qoki’s case, the plan is to obtain bank shares and trade under Botswana Diamond Bank or the Bank of Bulawayo.

Qoki Bank has sought Collet Ndlovu, formerly with the financial markets department of the South African Reserve Bank, as a Risk Advisory Director to conduct all its banking applications. It is a concern from some investors that the prerequisites and vetting processes have been deemed good enough by Ndlovu in contrast to those outlined above. One of the issues raised was that Tshuma used other Qoki projects to meet the banking prerequisite criteria without the consent of women who crowdfunded those projects, especially when they still needed to be completed. This applies to almost all funding and approval requests that Tshuma has made for projects such as, Qoki Market, Qoki Hotel and Golf Course, Qoki Hwange/Plumtree Filling Station, Qoki Esigodini Girls High and Qoki African Dawn/Riverwood Village.
In an attempt to assure the prospective Qoki bank owners, Ndlovu stated
‘In Botswana, the Diamond Bank will control all the diamonds and minerals from the region and also being a commercial bank which does the usual banking services that banks like Barclays Bank can do.
The same bank has been approved to own the vaults for all diamonds of the region (taken away the rights from De Beers). It will also be authorized to run the commodities exchange for the whole world.
That is why the presidency wants to give a direct briefing to Qoki’.

Police Ban Chamisa Bindura Rally

By-The Police in Bindura has banned the opposition CCC from launching its 2023 elections campaign in Mashonaland Central capital, Bindura, on Sunday, saying the venue selected by the Nelson Chamisa-led party has no access to roads and water and would expose supporters to infectious diseases.

ZRP also said they were not given sufficient notice “as provided for in terms of the MOPA Act”, and advised CCC to find another venue and date for the event.
A letter addressed to CCC by the Officer Commanding Bindura Police District, dated 07 July 2023, reads in part:
This office acknowledges receipt of your notification of a public gathering [Campaign Rally] dated 6th July 2023 to be held at stand number 3889 and 3890 Brockdale, Bindura, on the 9th of July 2023 from 0900 hours to 1700hours which you submitted in terms of section 7 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act [Chapter 11:23].
This office has reservations in respect of the suitability of the venue taking into account all relevant security factors necessary.
The venue falls within an undeveloped piece of land, which is bushy without serviceable roads, water and sewer facilities.
It provides a high-risk security threat to the participants. There is also a high risk of threat to the spread of any communicable diseases.
In the event of any public disorder, the police and other emergency services would have challenges accessing the venue due to the unavailability of an official road network.
As a result, our mandate to protect life and property and to maintain law and order will be compromised.
Lastly, your notification did not give sufficient notice to the regulatory authority as provided in terms of the MOPA Act.
May you consider securing another suitable venue and provide sufficient notification as required by the provisions of the MOPA Act.

Bulawayo Family Escapes Deadly Encounter as Venomous Snake Emerges from Water Vase

A Bulawayo family narrowly escaped a dangerous encounter with a venomous snake on Wednesday afternoon at their residence in the North End suburb, according to a local newspaper report.

The snake had apparently taken refuge inside a water vase and was discovered by the family. B-Metro, present at the scene, observed the successful capture of the reptile by a snake handler who was assigned by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks).

Mrs. Mthombeni, the homeowner, recounted the terrifying incident, stating that her son spotted a large snake in the water vase, with only its head visible while the rest of its body remained hidden. She expressed gratitude that the snake was outside the house at the time, as it could have posed a threat to her children. Upon receiving the news from her son, she advised him to avoid approaching the snake.

The presence of the snake left the family feeling apprehensive about leaving the house, prompting Mrs. Mthombeni to contact ZimParks for assistance in capturing the reptile. Snake handler Ahmz Estat was promptly dispatched to the residence.

After examining the snake, Estat determined it to be an olive grass snake.

Former G40 Kingpin Betrays Kasukuwere

Allies of former Zanu-PF national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere have distanced themselves from the vanquished G40 faction kingpin’s presidential aspirations saying they were rallying behind the ruling party ahead of the August 23 elections.

Kasukuwere was banking on support from his former allies during the G40 days who include ex-Harare South Member of Parliament and party provincial commissar Shadreck Mashayamombe among many others who were powerful elements at the height of the ruling party factional fights to cement his campaign but the latest development has dented his chances of securing a meaningful campaign against President Emmerson Mnangagwa and opposition leader Nelson Chamisa.

Kasukuwere has also lost support of key allies Jonathan Moyo and Patrick Zhuwao in his presidential bid.

Mashayamombe, a former key ally of not only Kasukuwere but the late former President Robert Mugabe and his then powerful wife who doubled as the Zanu-PF Women’s League secretary, Grace, yesterday said he and others had nothing to do with Kasukuwere and his newly-found ambition.

Mashayamombe contested the 2018 election under the MDC Alliance ticket.

“Firstly l would like to thank President Mnangagwa, the Vice Presidents, and the Politburo up to the cell member for what he has done for us, for accepting us to come back into the party and work with him,” Mashayamombe told journalists yesterday.

“For us as Comrades, we were working with each other well in Zanu-PF party and however, what happened, happened and let’s look forward and work with other together so that what we achieve what we want.”

“Some know us being the G40 because of what transpired in 2017 but what l want to say we knew that the leadership was changing. We had no problem with the coming in of President Mnangagwa and we want to support him,” he said

Mashayamombe said more allies were coming to re-join the ruling party ahead of elections.

Kasukuwere is expected back in the country to launch his campaign ahead of elections.

Chairperson of his movement, who is also former Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi was last night expected to give details of Kasukuwere’s itinerary though there are fears the former Zanu-PF political commissar would be arrested upon arrival over a litany of criminal allegations levelled against him.

Police Block Another Chamisa Rally

By- Police in Masvingo have blocked the opposition CCC party from holding its Presidential Campaign Rally at Chivi Growth Point scheduled for today.

In a letter addressed to CCC, Officer Commanding Police, Masvingo West District, Chief Superintendent D. Maingire said the opposition party cannot hold its rally at the venue because Zanu PF had already booked it. Reads the letter in part:

  1. We acknowledge receipt of your notification dated 02 July 2020
  2. We also appreciate that your letter meets all the requirements and expectations.
  3. Let me take this opportunity to highlight that Chivi Growth Point ground was booked by ZANU PF and we are in receipt of that letter dated 01 July 2023.
  4. By changing your venue from Mhandamabwe to Chivi Growl Point, you ceded your rights to use Mhandomabwe your venue on the strength of this notification.
  5. Kindly be advised that permission has therefore not been granted.
  6. If you want to hold any rallies in the future at Mhandamatwe or Chi Growth Point you have to submit another notification.
In the run-up to the by-elections held in March 2022, dozens of Chamisa and CCC’s campaign rallies were banned by the Police on the pretext that the party failed to comply with security requirements prescribed under section 8 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (Chapter 11:23).
On Wednesday, 05 July, CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere accused ZANU PF of abusing the Police to disrupt its rallies.
Posting on Twitter after CCC’s Presidential Campaign Rally was blocked by Police in Chiredzi, Mahere said the ban will not stop them from “winning the hearts and minds of Zimbabweans.”

Man Steals Drunk Friend’s Car

A 29-year-old Harare man has been dragged to court for allegedly stealing a car from his drunk friend.

The court heard that George Chatambudza, who had been asked by his drunk colleague to drive him home, is alleged to have driven off after dropping him off.

Businessman Found Dead

Tragic End for Mission Businessman: Fanson Siziba, Found Dead in Mberengwa Bush

The community of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is mourning the loss of Fanson Siziba, a prominent businessman and one of the founding members of Tshova Mubaiwa Transport Co-operative. The 82-year-old entrepreneur, who had been reported missing on June 1, was discovered deceased in a bush in the Midlands province.

Siziba’s tragic demise has left his family and associates devastated. He was laid to rest on June 29 in his rural home of Marirazhombe Village under Chief Chizungu in Mberengwa, where he was honored with the status of a liberation war hero.

The circumstances surrounding Siziba’s death remain shrouded in mystery. A young girl who had ventured into the bush to fetch firewood stumbled upon his lifeless body, which was already in an advanced state of decomposition. The authorities were immediately notified, and Siziba’s family was informed of the heartbreaking discovery.

According to Sikhumbuzo Siziba, the family spokesperson, there were no visible signs of physical attacks on Siziba’s body, leading the police to suspect that he may have succumbed to extreme weather conditions and hunger. Complicating matters further, Siziba had been suffering from dementia, a cognitive disorder that could have contributed to his confusion and ultimately prevented him from finding his way back home.

The news of Siziba’s passing deeply affected the organizations he had been involved with throughout his life, including the transport sector and the war veterans associations. Recognizing his significant contributions to the community and the country’s independence, these organizations collectively decided to bestow upon him the esteemed title of a liberation war hero.

Born on May 2, 1942, Siziba’s life was one marked by sacrifice and service. In 1978, he abandoned his job as a driver to join the liberation struggle, seeking refuge in Zambia at a camp under the auspices of the Zimbabwe African People’s Union (ZAPU). Later, Siziba was sent to Bucharest, Romania, where he underwent specialized training in driving and other skills aligned with the objectives of the liberation movement.

Returning to Zimbabwe after gaining valuable experience, Siziba worked closely with Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) commanders as a driver. However, upon the country’s independence, he chose not to join the Zimbabwe National Army and sought employment elsewhere.

Siziba secured a job at Monarch, where he worked as a truck driver, traversing various countries. It was during this period that he conceived the idea of venturing into the transport industry, which eventually led to the formation of the Insimbaluthi Partnership, an affiliate of Tshova Mubaiwa.

Established in 1983, Tshova Mubaiwa has since become one of Bulawayo’s most prominent private transport associations, thanks in part to Siziba’s unwavering dedication and commitment. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for community development were widely recognized, making his loss all the more devastating for those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Fanson Siziba leaves behind his wife, Chipo, 10 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy as a freedom fighter and a trailblazer in the transport industry will continue to inspire generations to come, reminding them of the sacrifices made by individuals like Siziba in shaping the nation’s history and progress.- state media

Robert Mugabe’s Personal Life And A Joking Condom Confusion

Robert Mugabe, the late former President of Zimbabwe, was known for his affinity for spending time at his rural home, affectionately referred to as kumusha. In a candid account (click to read) by his nephew, Robert Zhuwao, we gain insights into Mugabe’s fondness for being surrounded by family and the challenges one could face when summoned by him. This particular story revolves around a condom mishap that led to an unexpected encounter with the formidable leader.

Robert Mugabe

The story shared by Robert Zhuwao provides a glimpse into the personal side of Robert Mugabe’s life and his love for kumusha. It also demonstrates the challenges and consequences that could arise from a simple misunderstanding. Despite the mishap, Zhuwao’s account reflects the enduring respect and admiration he held for his uncle, highlighting the formidable presence Mugabe commanded both as a leader and within his family.- CLICK HERE TO READ THE ORIGINAL POST BY ROBERT ZHUWAO

Herald’s Celebration of Bread Price Reduction for ED

Herald’s Celebration of Bread Price Reduction Fails to Address Deeper Economic Issues

In a recent article published by Zimbabwe’s state newspaper, the Herald, the celebration of Baker’s Inn Bakery’s reduction in bread prices has drawn criticism for its failure to address the deeper economic issues faced by the country. While the gesture may provide temporary relief for some Zimbabweans, it does little to address the underlying causes of the rising costs and financial strain experienced by the population.

The article portrays Baker’s Inn Bakery as a “knight in shining armor” for reducing bread prices and commends the company for supporting the government’s efforts to combat inflation. However, this celebration overlooks the fact that bread is just one of many basic commodities that have become increasingly unaffordable for ordinary Zimbabweans.

The reduction in bread prices by Baker’s Inn may provide some relief, but it does not address the root causes of the country’s economic woes, including hyperinflation, currency instability, and widespread poverty. Zimbabweans continue to grapple with skyrocketing prices of other essential goods, such as cooking oil, sugar, and medicine, which are often out of reach for many households.

While Baker’s Inn’s decision to reduce the price of their signature bread may be commendable on its own, it should not distract from the urgent need for comprehensive economic reforms that tackle the systemic issues plaguing Zimbabwe. The celebration of this isolated price reduction in the Herald creates a misleading narrative that fails to acknowledge the widespread economic hardships faced by the population.

Rather than focusing solely on symbolic gestures like reducing bread prices, it is essential for the government and state media to address the root causes of the economic crisis. This includes implementing sustainable policies to stabilize the currency, attract foreign investment, and promote job creation. Without addressing these fundamental issues, isolated price reductions will only provide temporary relief and do little to improve the long-term economic prospects for Zimbabweans.

While some may experience short-term excitement and gratitude for Baker’s Inn’s reduced bread prices, it is crucial to recognize that this alone cannot solve the economic challenges faced by the country. A more comprehensive and sustainable approach is needed to truly alleviate the financial strain on the pockets of Zimbabweans and restore stability to the economy.

Pressure Group Condemns Violation Of Human Rights

Masvingo district community members condemn an increase in human rights violations.

Masvingo district community members raised concern over an increase in human rights violations in the district. This was highlighted during a community dialogue meeting organized by Community Tolerance Reconciliation and Development (COTRAD) in Masvingo district ward 18 in June 2023. Community members openly said, there is a group called Forever Associate Zimbabwe (FAZ) violating human rights in all wards in the district.

In every ward, each group consists of 3 representatives, who will be taking details from the people. The community members raised a concern on the legality of FAZ and its member’s roles which includes taking details of community members as well as asking them about their voter registration and political status. In Matsikidze village alleged FAZ members identified as Vunganai Mutumhe, Gabriel Manatsa, and Mr Matsikidze are being accused of leading the processing of collecting details and asking the community members for their personal details.

A community member said, “The FAZ team is campaigning for the ruling party and are forcing every community member to support the sitting President, they are intimidating the community and forcefully urging the electorates to vote wisely by voting for the sitting President to avoid the 2008 scenario”. They were given cell phones which they used for data collection from the communities and it is said that they shared the information they collected with the Central Intelligent officers (CIOs) and other top ruling party officials.

The matter was reported to the Zimbabwe Republic Police but no action was taken. Attempts to get a comment from the ZRP were futile as our calls were unanswered.

Similar cases of human rights violation were also recorded in wards 16, 17, and 21 of Masvingo district. One of the village heads who speak to COTRAD on the condition of anonymity said “As village heads we were ordered by the FAZ leaders to compile a list of every community member and which party they belong to and submit the copies to the FAZ members”.

Community members are forced to join ruling party cell groups and are instructed not to attend other political party meetings or meetings organized by NGOs without FAZ or village head’s approval, a right to freedom of assembly is continuously violated. Ward 16 councilor Demba highlighted that “community members, especially opposition party supporters are now leaving in fear of their lives, as they are receiving threats daily from FAZ members for supporting their political parties”. He further encouraged the community members and public officials to restrain violence and unite for the common good of the community.

COTRAD urged the community members to be peaceful as we are towards the elections, despite coming from different political backgrounds. COTRAD also urged the community members to report all forms of human rights violations to public officials, Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission, the police and other relevent institutions. COTRAD encourages political parties to mobilize their supporters in peace and traditional leaders to comply with the Zimbabwean constitution and not be involved in politics as stated in section 280 (2) of the constitution.

Banda Up For Maintenance

On Wednesday, the former Deputy Mayor of Bulawayo, Mr Gift Banda, found himself facing a court hearing due to allegations of failing to pay maintenance for his 13-year-old child, whom he fathered out of wedlock in a widely publicized love affair back in 2009.

Miss Kholiwe Sitshoni, Mr Banda’s former lover, took legal action and applied to the court in order to compel him to fulfill his obligations towards their child. It was revealed that Mr Banda had neglected to provide financial support for the past three years.

In her affidavit, Miss Sitshoni requested an upward adjustment in maintenance fees, seeking an increase from US$150 to US$300 per month. However, after negotiations between the two parties, a resolution was reached. Mr Banda agreed to cover all school-related expenses, while Miss Sitshoni would be responsible for transportation and clothing costs.

Both Mr Banda and Miss Sitshoni arrived at the Bulawayo magistrates’ courts, located in the Tredgold Building, early in the morning. However, due to the busy schedule, their case was only heard shortly before lunchtime. As part of the agreement, Mr Banda also pledged to settle the outstanding maintenance payments from the past three years.

In January 2014, a consent order issued by the Maintenance Court of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo stated that Mr Banda had previously consented to pay US$150 per month as maintenance for the child. The document also outlined his commitment to cover the child’s school fees until she completed her education, as well as any necessary transportation and medical expenses.

Within the same consent order, Mr Banda acknowledged his arrears and was instructed to clear them within six months from the date of the document’s issuance.

Since their private affairs were publicly exposed, Mr Banda and Miss Sitshoni have repeatedly resorted to legal action against each other regarding maintenance-related issues. In a previous instance in 2014, Mr Banda had accumulated arrears totaling US$2,400, which he was ordered to settle, and he duly complied with the court’s directive.-state media

Mnangagwa Abandons Chamisa Stronghold Rally Venue

By-Zanu PF has abandoned the Karoi star rally and moved it to Chinhoyi, with no reasons given for the change of venue.

This would have been Mnangagwa’s first campaign rally in Karoi town — an opposition stronghold.
Yesterday, the ruling party’s Mashonaland West provincial leadership held an emergency meeting at the Chinhoyi University of Technology to organise logistics and finalise preparations for the rally to be held at the educational institution.
The meeting, organised by provincial chairperson Mary Mliswa-Chikoka through provincial administrator Misheck Nyarubero, was attended by incoming and outgoing MPs, senators and councillors.
Meanwhile, vendors in Karoi have celebrated the change of venue for the Zanu PF rally saying it would have disrupted their activities, with most of them being forced to close shop and attend the rally.
‘‘The change of venue is a positive move. If he had come, we could have been forced to play hide and seek with both council and police in their bid to get us out of town yet we survive through vending,’’ said vendor Tarisai Petros. Newsday

ZBC Bans Winky D, Sponsors E-Creator Fraud Instead

https://twitter.com/Lossothechin_92/status/1676886635164598272?t=7OsmSYqiLr3Yj03cN0JaNg&s=19

Irony Unveiled: Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Bans Winky D, Promotes Fraudulent Ponzi Scheme

By Dorrothy Moyo | ZimEye | The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), the country’s state-owned broadcaster, recently found itself embroiled in a scandal that has exposed a troubling irony. On one hand, the corporation banned the music of popular artist Winky D, claiming it was harmful, while on the other hand, it shamelessly promoted the fraudulent E-Creator ponzi scheme. This egregious misuse of rate payers’ money to generate advertisements for a criminal enterprise has resulted in the loss of millions of dollars from vulnerable individuals. As a wave of lawsuits looms, it is evident that ZBC’s actions have caused immense harm to the public, leaving them rightfully infuriated.

The Ban on Winky D:

Winky D, a highly regarded Zimbabwean musician, has been an influential figure in the country’s music industry for years. However, his music was suddenly deemed harmful by the ZBC, which justified the ban by citing reasons such as explicit content and inappropriate messaging. Many viewed this move as an attempt to stifle freedom of expression, especially considering that Winky D’s songs have often touched on social and political issues in a thought-provoking manner.

Promotion of the E-Creator Ponzi Scheme:

Simultaneously, the ZBC shockingly chose to allocate significant airtime and resources to promote the E-Creator ponzi scheme. This fraudulent scheme lured unsuspecting individuals by promising substantial returns on their investments. Sadly, these promises were nothing but an elaborate ruse, with countless people losing their hard-earned money to the con artists behind E-Creator.

The E-Creator ponzi scheme operated on the classic model of paying earlier investors with funds collected from new participants, leading to a vicious cycle that ultimately collapses. Despite warnings from financial experts and regulatory bodies, ZBC ignored the potential dangers and proceeded to broadcast advertisements that persuaded viewers to invest their money in this illegal operation.

The Impact on the Public:

The consequences of ZBC’s actions have been devastating for countless Zimbabweans. The ban on Winky D’s music stifled artistic expression and deprived the public of cultural enrichment. Meanwhile, the promotion of the E-Creator ponzi scheme facilitated the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, many of whom trusted the broadcaster to act in their best interests.

As news of the fraudulent nature of E-Creator began to emerge, disgruntled subscribers began organizing legal action against ZBC. One affected individual, reflecting the sentiments of many, exclaimed, “ZBC banned Winky D and at the same time hosted the criminal E Creator ponzi, they must be sued for this.” Such lawsuits serve as a stark reminder of the anger and frustration felt by those who fell victim to the scheme after being misled by the state broadcaster.

Conclusion:

The irony surrounding ZBC’s decision to ban Winky D’s music while simultaneously promoting the E-Creator ponzi scheme is a striking testament to the corporation’s misplaced priorities and questionable ethical standards. The misuse of rate payers’ money to endorse a criminal enterprise has not only tarnished ZBC’s reputation but also caused significant financial and emotional harm to the public. As the legal repercussions mount, it is crucial for accountability to prevail, ensuring that such blatant disregard for the welfare of the citizens is not tolerated within Zimbabwe’s media landscape.

Massive Endorsement For Chamisa Ahead Of August 23 Elections

MDC founding members under the banner, Veterans Activists’ Association of Zimbabwe (VAAZ), have urged its members to rally behind the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) in the upcoming elections.

VAAZ transformed from being the MDC Veterans Activists Association after the MDC Alliance was hijacked by Douglas Mwonzora.

VAAZ national chairperson, Felix Magalela Sibanda, yesterday appealed to members to mobilise support for CCC as the August 23 general elections approach.

“The VAAZ national executive committee and all structures would wish to express their unreserved gratitude for political maturity and consciousness displayed by all membership during the mainstream CCC nomination processes up to the validation of the movement candidates thereto,” he said.

“The way forward is to strategically support all CCC candidates where you are, by mobilisation and voting for each one of them in the August 23, 2023 plebiscite, defend the people’s vote soon after casting the ballot, and support CCC movement programmes before, during and post-elections.

“Donate anything to the movement that is within your reach like vehicles, fuel, labour, campaign material and what you may in God’s grace and last but not the least, pray for the CCC presidential candidate and all subsequent candidates’ victory and peaceful campaigning period to the finish.”

Sibanda was nominated for Senate under CCC in Bulawayo.

Tagwirei Back On The Spotlight Again

A joint investigative report by The Sentry and Open Secrets exposes how Zimbabwean presidential advisor and business tycoon Kudakwashe Tagwirei, the subject of numerous corruption allegations, was able to move suspect funds from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to the City of London using a combination of fronts, apparently false invoices, and offshore financial façades.

The report, “Fronts, Fakes, and Façades: How South African and Mauritian Enablers Helped Move Millions from Zimbabwe to Britain,” focuses on three payments that secured Tagwirei’s purchase of two Zimbabwean mines—Bindura Nickel and Freda Rebecca Gold Mine.

Tagwirei, already surrounded by corruption allegations at the time of the deal, sought to create an offshore empire built on Zimbabwean mining.

Tagwirei’s deal may not have been possible without enablers—South African company directors, a Mauritian management company agent, a Cayman Islands investment fund, banks in numerous jurisdictions, and the company administrators in the United Kingdom—that, wittingly or unwittingly, facilitated Tagwirei’s purchase of the two mines. Many of these actors knew that Tagwirei was behind the deal. Some designed structures that had the effect of obscuring his involvement. Others had enough information that they should have suspected he was involved and asked appropriate questions.

Nick Donovan, Senior Investigator at The Sentry, said: “By the time of these transactions, Tagwirei had been embroiled in two alleged corruption scandals in Zimbabwe. Stopping potentially illicit financial flows depends upon professionals asking the right questions. This report shows that many don’t.”

Michael Marchant, Head of Investigations at Open Secrets, said: “The role of professionals around the globe in facilitating dubious money flows, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is a key contributor to the outflow of resources from poor countries like Zimbabwe to rich ones like the United Kingdom. It is essential that we see swift and effective action by regulators to hold these enablers to account.”

Estimates suggest that Zimbabwe loses between US$500 million and US$1 billion every year to illicit cross-border transactions. The documents reviewed in connection with this investigation suggest that the transactions to buy the mines are a textbook example of how money moves from some of the poorest countries on earth into some of the richest via enablers and a lax legal framework in the offshore world.

The investigative report reveals how Tagwirei used Sotic International, a Mauritian company that documents suggest was his front, to buy the mines for $29.5 million (R431 million, £23 million) from ASA Resource Group (ASA), a bankrupt firm that was being run by British company administrators Duff & Phelps (now known as Kroll). These purchases were made in three payments with each stage involving behaviour that raises questions.

Sotic’s Zimbabwean subsidiary, Landela Investments, obtained hard currency from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) at a favorable exchange rate when cashing in a $60 million portion of a large Treasury Bill given to Tagwirei’s company, Sakunda Holdings, with Landela telling the RBZ that some of the funds were needed to buy Bindura Nickel.

To get money into Mauritius from Zimbabwe for Sotic’s second £12 million payment, South African directors created invoices for exports that could not be found in Zimbabwe’s official customs records, raising questions as to whether trade misinvoicing, a technique commonly used in tradebased money laundering, had occurred.

For the final £8.7 million payment, Tagwirei moved his money into Sotic via a complex offshore façade that had the effect of disguising the source of funds.

After Tagwirei was sanctioned and accused of corruption by the US government in 2020, control of the two mines shifted from Sotic to Kuvimba Mining, which in 2021 was 65 percent owned by the Zimbabwean state and 35 percent owned by companies and trusts linked to Tagwirei.

The illicit activities revealed in this report have grave consequences for people in Zimbabwe, one of the poorest countries in the world. In 2022, the World Bank estimated that the proportion of people in Zimbabwe living on less than $1.80 per day rose from 23 percent in 2011 to around 50 percent in 2019.

Michael Marchant, Head of Investigations at Open Secrets, said: “As corruption has deepened in Zimbabwe and illicit financial outflows have gathered pace, extreme poverty and hunger has grown. In a story like this one of complicated and opaque money flows, we must not lose sight of the real human cost of these activities. Challenging the networks that enable the status quo is vital for social justice in Zimbabwe.”

Dr. Charles Cater, Director of Investigations at The Sentry, said: “This investigation points a bright spotlight on the role of legal and financial professionals who enable illicit financial flows. Policy action, such as establishing beneficial ownership registries and targeting enablers with anti-money laundering legislation, is urgently needed in countries both rich and poor.”

This report relies heavily on financial records and correspondence, provided by Christopher Fourie, an active participant in the ASA deal. Fourie later became a whistleblower and handed information over to authorities in 2021. The Sentry and Open Secrets reviewed almost 2,000 emails and documents and obtained further information from interviews, public records, and other sources.

Open Secrets is a non-profit organisation which exposes and builds accountability for economic crimes through investigative research, advocacy, and the law. The Sentry is an investigative organisation that tracks corruption.

Thabani Mpofu, a fellow lawyer, confirmed the incident on Wednesday evening, stating, “Top CCC Lawyer Obey Shava was viciously attacked this evening by four men who broke his legs and left him battling for his life.”

Mpofu further emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety of citizens, particularly during the current volatile period, saying, “The safety of our citizens must be the top priority on the state’s agenda, particularly during this crazy season.”

Shava is recognized as one of the attorneys affiliated with the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights. He notably represented activists Joanna Mamombe, Cecelia Chimbiri, and Netsai Marova from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) during their court proceedings in 2020. The trio faced charges of falsifying their abduction by state security agents.

CCC Members Omitted From Provincial Council List Wait For Their Fate As Byo High Court Reserves Judgement

The Bulawayo High Court has reserved judgment in the matter in which members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) are challenging their omission from the provincial council list.

The 10 CCC members led by Aquilina Kavidza Pamberi as the first applicant with nine others Tinashe Kambarami, Memory Ndlovu, Promise Dalubuhle Mkwananzi, Caroline Mapako, Garikayi Mugova, Kwanele Bango, Brian Gumbo, Gladys Mathe and Tawanda Ruzive respectively, filed an urgent court application accusing the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) of depriving them the opportunity to submit their party list nomination papers.

The ten CCC members asked the Bulawayo High Court to order ZEC to enable them to submit their candidate names and reverse the subsequent election of the Zanu PF provincial council candidates who stood unopposed.

They cited ZEC Bulawayo Provincial Elections Officer (PEO), Innocent Ncube as the first respondent, as he was the presiding officer of the Nomination Court, while ZEC is the second respondent.

The other respondents cited are the Zanu PF candidates who were duly elected: Manala Motsi, Eddie Dube, Kundai Nyika, Golden Ndlovu, Mnothisi Nsingo, Moleen Dube and Mlungisi Moyo, who are third to tenth respondents respectively.

ZEC refuted CCC’s allegations with the PEO claiming the opposition party had three party lists for Senatorial, National Assembly, and Youth quotas but none for Provincial Council.

According to the PEO, CCC attempted to submit its provincial council party list while submitting amendments to its initial nomination papers, which was prohibited.

Nqobizitha Ndlovu of Cheda and Cheda Associates told CITE that lawyers argued the matter on July 3 before Justice Bongani Ndlovu who reserved judgment.

“It means judgement will be delivered in due course. We argued the matter but the judge didn’t deliver judgment there and then. The judge needs time to go over the arguments and write it. When judgment is ready he will tell us and deliver it,” he said.

Ndlovu said as things stand now, CCC still has no nominated members in Bulawayo’s Provincial or Metropolitan Council, adding that the judgment will definitely come as a matter of urgency.

“It’s a matter of urgency because of the election. The judgement has to come way before the elections. We are looking at it coming in the coming week, so most probably it will be out,” said the lawyer.

In their application, the CCC members claimed before the PEO could make a decision on the nomination papers submitted from them, “there was sudden pandemonium inside the nomination court” and by the time order was restored, the “PEO had apparently lost” their forms.

End Of The Road For Vehicle Owners With Impounded Cars

HARARE City Council is set to auction at least 142 vehicles impounded for violating traffic laws and never claimed by their owners who would have to pay fines and charges to get them back.

The municipal yesterday published a list of all unclaimed impounded vehicles that have overstayed in the City of Harare Central Stores yard and issued a 30-day ultimatum before the vehicles are auctioned off.

Some of the vehicles that remain unclaimed were impounded between 2013 and 2016.

Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes Benz and Land Rovers are among the vehicles on the municipal list.

Municipal traffic police have of late been cracking down hard on illegally parked cars and those spotted picking up passengers at undesignated pick-up points. Most impounded or towed away cars are quickly reclaimed by their owners, but there is a growing list of those that seem to have been abandoned.
