Mnangagwa Is Not Zanu PF – Zivhu

Tinashe Sambiri
The enigmatic politician Killer Zivhu has categorically stated that Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa does not own Zanu PF.

Writing on twitter, Zivhu subtly attacked the Zanu PF boss.

“Gamatokisi , G40, Zanu original etc, ED is not Zanu pf, he is just the President for the Party and government for now,
people come and go, but the Party must live forever, let’s join hands and defend the Party and our independence, ED pfee. “

” Let’s vote now, ED, like, Chamisa , retweet, Kasukuwere , X, on comments, ngatiroveyi chopu chopu , tione kuti chimuti chinotorwa nani.

Kkkkk, imwi musanetseka neni, ndiri Zanu pf 100 percent, but kana pavanoreva nhemha , kana kubira vanhu ndinovaudza chokwadi, handinyengereri kuva muma Structures, but Zanu pf is in my blood, chokwadi toudzana kusvika zvanaka, kwete kutiza mu Nyika kuti utaure chokwadi.

Please understand me guys, iam Party less , ndiri free spirit , but I know what is going to happen soon, Zimbabwe ichanakidza zvokuti varipasi vachafara, for the first time, kuti ndiyo Independence yatakafira iyi. “

Donate Blood To Save Life

The slogan for 2023 World Blood Donor Day campaign, celebrated on 14 June 2023, is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play, by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of giving blood or plasma regularly to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products that can be always available, all over the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.

The objectives are to:

celebrate and thank individuals who donate blood and encourage more people to become new donors;
encourage people in good health to donate blood regularly, as often as is safe and possible, to transform the quality of life for transfusion dependent patients and help to build a secure blood supply in all countries in the world;
highlight the critical roles of voluntary non-remunerated regular blood and plasma donations in achieving universal access to safe blood products for all populations; and
mobilize support at national, regional and global levels among governments and development partners to invest in, strengthen and sustain national blood programmes.

First Aid In Mining

First aid should can be offered by anyone but ideally trained personnel to give first aid should offer first aid.

When offering first aid always consider your personal safety first.

Look out for any dangers and only act when you are confident it is safe to do so.

An unresponsive person is someone not moving or responding when you call them or when gently shaken.

Respiratory emergencies & CPR

Check if breathing by tilting their head back and looking and feeling for breaths.
When a person is unresponsive, their muscles relax and their tongue can block their airway so they can no longer breathe. Tilting their head back opens the airway by pulling the tongue forward. If they are breathing, you will see their chest moving and you may hear their breath or feel it on your cheek. If breathing, move on to step two.

Move them onto their side and tilt their head back. Putting them in this position with their head back helps keep their airway open. It ensures their tongue falls forward and blood and vomit drain out. It is sometimes called the “recovery position”.
Call for help or an ambulance as soon as possible.
If the patient needs CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), place the person on their back on a firm, flat surface and start giving chest compressions aiming for 30compressions in 1minute.
How to do CPR
Hand position: Two hands centered on the chest
Body position: Shoulders directly over hands; elbows locked
Depth: At least 5cm
Allow chest to return to normal position after every chest compression.
5 Give 2 rescue breaths (if equipment to do that available). Ensure each breath lasts about 1 second and makes the chest rise; allow air to exit before giving the next breath.

Gas leak, Fire & Burns

Turn off gas if safe to do
Evacuate the area immediately
Do not switch any lights or start an open flame
If there is fire use a fire extinguisher to stop the fire from spreading and ring the fire alarm alerting everyone to evacuate the building.
If someone is on fire remove the person from the source of fire, drop and roll him or her over or cover him or her with a fire blanket.
Cool burn under running water
Protect the burn with sterile, non-adhesive bandage (DO NOT APPLY BUTTER OR OINTMENTS)
Do not break blisters
Call for an ambulance and send to hospital
Chemical spill

Remove spoiled clothing
If skin or eyes affected rinse immediately with clean running water
If ingested do not induce vomiting and do not give water or mi unless told to d so by a health professional.
If inhaled move the person to fresh air and give oxygen if available.
After first aid is given send to hospital as soon as possible.

ZANU PF Buses Caught Dodging A Tollgate

By Farai D Hove | In an embarrassing turn of events, a significant number of buses, trucks, and other vehicles associated with ZANU PF were on Saturday caught evading tollgate fees at the 22 Miles Tollgate. A clandestine detour road was allegedly created to enable these vehicles to bypass the tollgate and avoid paying toll fees. This illicit activity has resulted in substantial financial losses for the country, both in US dollars and RTGS currency. The situation raises questions about the fairness of toll collection and the authorities’ ability to enforce regulations.

The Tollgate Scandal

On a day when these vehicles were heading to a rally organized by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Chipinge, it was observed that a special detour road had been established solely for the purpose of evading tollgate fees. This unauthorized route allowed the ZANU PF convoy to bypass the tollgate altogether, causing significant losses in revenue. Reports indicate that by 10 AM, more than 100 vehicles, including buses, had already taken advantage of this illegal route.

The tollgate workers from the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA), stationed at the 22 Miles Tollgate, were rendered powerless as the commandeered vehicles drove past without making the required toll payments. This blatant act of evading toll fees raises concerns about the integrity of toll collection systems and the enforcement of toll-related regulations.

Contradictory Actions by ZINARA

What adds insult to injury is the fact that just a few months ago, a ZINARA manager based at the same 22 Miles Tollgate caused the arrest of a local villager for allegedly allowing vehicles to pass through his farm to avoid the tollgate. ZINARA had vehemently declared such actions illegal, emphasizing the significant revenue losses suffered by the state due to toll evasion. This stark contradiction in ZINARA’s handling of toll avoidance incidents raises questions about the fairness and consistency of their operations.

Calls for Action

Given the gravity of the situation and the substantial financial losses incurred, it is imperative that ZINARA and other relevant authorities take immediate action to address this tollgate scandal. The police have reportedly been deployed to monitor and control the detour road, ensuring that only vehicles heading to President Mnangagwa’s rally can utilize it. However, this measure does not address the fundamental issue of toll evasion itself.

ZINARA, in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), must conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. This investigation should identify the individuals responsible for facilitating the illegal detour road and those involved in the toll evasion. The findings should then be followed by appropriate legal action to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.

The recent incident involving ZANU PF buses and trucks evading tollgate fees at the 22 Miles Tollgate is a matter of grave concern. Not only does it highlight the need for a comprehensive review of toll collection procedures and security, but it also raises questions about the integrity of those entrusted with enforcing these regulations.

To restore public trust in the toll collection system, it is crucial for ZINARA and other relevant authorities to act swiftly and decisively. They must investigate this scandal thoroughly, prosecute those responsible, and implement measures to prevent future toll evasion. Only by addressing these issues can Zimbabwe ensure the fair collection of toll fees and protect the country’s revenue streams.

Zanu PF Infiltrates Chamisa Camp, Causes Confusion

By-The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party has accused ZANU PF of confusing by fielding double and sometimes triple nominations across the country.

CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere alleged that ZANU PF forged signatures on nomination papers to cause chaos after it failed to penetrate the party’s systems.

During a press conference in the capital on Thursday, Mahere said they discovered double nominations in 20 provinces and reported the matter to the police. The CCC has also filed an appeal with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), objecting to people whose names appear as CCC candidates but were not signed for by the party. Mahere said they have sufficient evidence of fraud and would be going to court. She said:

ZANU PF failed to penetrate our systems and what did they do, they went and forged our signatures and created 20 odd double candidates that you see across the country for National Assembly and a number of them in wards across the country.

We have filed objections in terms of the Electoral Act to people whose names appear as our candidates and were not signed for by us. The second issue is (that) criminal reports have been made to the police in Masvingo and other constituencies because this is a fraud, it’s criminal.

In some cases, we have a candidate who says well my money was paid and papers filed but not by me, I don’t know who filed these, there is someone clearly behind that

Meanwhile, ZANU PF has distanced itself from the chaos and said it was satisfied with its own nomination process and expecting victory in the August 23 polls.

Former Information Minister, Jonathan Moyo, responded to accusations that ZANU PF was responsible for the CCC’s double nominations. The Political Science Professor argued that the CCC was criminalizing politics and that the fact that the double nominations involved CCC members who participated in the party’s opaque candidate selection process indicated a lack of internal structures and processes to deal with its own members. Moyo criticised the CCC for abusing the criminal justice system and urged the party to develop a constitution and structures to manage its internal politics. He said:

CCC CRIMINALISING POLITICS The fact that Triple C’s triple and double candidate nominations actually involve individuals who are its “members” and who as such participated in its opaque candidate selection process – and some who won in that process which used the archaic but visible ‘Bereka Mwana’ method – means that CCC should ‘cry foul’ to and about those individuals, meaning its “members”, and no one else. Those individuals who in Triple C’s triple or double nomination saga are supposed to be CCC members. The fact that CCC is crying foul, point fingers to outsides like ZanuPF and FAZ clearly means CCC does not have structures and processes to deal with its errant or wayward members. So, CCC is now turning what is political into ‘criminal’ conduct, alleging “fraud” against its “members” and whomever is alleged to have connived with them, hoping to get @PoliceZimbabwe to help it manage its structureless internal politics. But this is absurd. As a political party, CCC is abusing the criminal justice system simply and only because it has no structures to deal with its alleged ‘members’, who were so wayward as to register themselves as Triple C’s triple or double candidates. CCC should stop criminalising politics and come to terms with the consequences of not having a constitution and not having structures based on that constitution!

Zimbabwe goes to the polls on 23 August to elect a new president, members of Parliament (MPs), Senators and Councillors.

Kasukuwere Faces Arrest

By James Gwati- Independent Presidential candidate and former Cabinet Minister Saviour Kasukuwere will be arrested once he sets foot in Zimbabwe.

Kasukuwere’s pending arrest was announced by the police, who said they had two arrest warrants hanging the aspiring President.

The police said these arrest warrants were issued way before he expressed his intentions to contest for the presidency.

Kasukuwere is among 11 candidates that successfully filed their nomination papers to contest the presidential elections on August 23.

He will stand as an independent candidate.
In interviews with the South African media where he is based, Kasukuwere sought to paint a picture of persecution by the Zimbabwe Government and alleged that he feared arrest on political grounds once he lands in the country to campaign ahead of elections.
However, The Herald can reveal that a warrant of arrest was issued on January 18, 2019 by retired Harare magistrate Mr Hosea Mujaya after the former Cabinet minister and key G40 figure in the late President Robert Mugabe’s Government, failed to appear for trial on four counts of criminal abuse of office.
Another was issued after Kasukuwere failed to resubmit his passport to the clerk of court during the agreed period.
The disgraced former Cabinet minister has been making feeble attempts to play the persecution card as he has been portraying his charges as politically motivated, but the fact of the matter is that he was issued with warrants of arrest after he skipped court proceedings and after he proved untrustworthy.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told The Herald last night that police were in possession of two warrants which had not been cancelled.
“We have two warrants of arrest that have not been cancelled yet. The first warrant was issued by magistrate Mujaya on January 18 2019 where he was facing criminal law charges under Section 174 (b) (a) of the criminal law code because he defaulted court under number CRB HarareR842/18.
“The second warrant is under 39/18, he was given his passport but failed to submit it back within the stipulated period so the police should execute these warrants they are currently in possession of and so far there are no indications that they have been cancelled,” he said.
In a separate interview, Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary Virginia Mabhiza said Kasukuwere should submit himself before the laws of Zimbabwe.
“When someone is issued with a warrant of arrest, they should submit before the law. What he should do is submit himself before the law and seek cancellation of the warrants. He has his lawyers, so they should advise him on what he should do. His submission to the law is standard procedure,” she said.

Mnangagwa Unleashes Police On Kasukuwere

By James Gwati- The Zimbabwe Republic Police said they would arrest former Cabinet Minister Saviour Kasukuwere once he sets foot in Zimbabwe.

LEAKED: Qoki Bribes

Like we have been saying: The truth unfolds. Qoki’s scandal unfolds.

By Nancy Nhuku | For some reason, we are reminded of a common song ‘When Jesus says yes nobody can say no!’ This befits the whole situation. Believe it or not, there are real victims in all these Qoki Zindlovukazi scrupulous projects, we do make an exceptional effort in supporting victims and gathering information. This is by far the most heartbreaking exercise, where real investors and victims speak out, in case one wonders why this newsmedia is still producing Qoki articles. This is also being done to raise awareness and educate our community, there are trends and patterns that continue to emerge from this investigation. There is abundance of voluntary shocking and devastating content to explore. The latest being the reaction to the previous opinion article on what went wrong with the great mighty Qoki. To recap, we featured Ms Sithule Tshuma’s audio saying “We had to do what we had to do” regarding obtaining Subdivision permits. We posited the question that ‘One wonders if she was insinuating that she had to bribe her way through to get subdivision division permits’?
1st** audio.

Rest assured there was no malice in this, just critical thinking and analysis. As fate would have it, the publication received a phenominal response from the victims. Have you ever heard of the adage “oil and water do not mix”? This is evidence that it surely does not, below is an audio of the Qoki Highness confessing and confirming the theory that there was bribing involved. An attempt to do a verbatim transcription of the audio was made, although not stenographic. Please note that this audio is an intimate conversation between Tshuma’s own, one of her own trusted investors/friends. It is important to assert that the mission is not to convince people, however, to publish our research and as such do not care who comes on board or does not. The mission is to educate and unpack this to the root cause and will stop at nothing. The essence is to approach this with an open mind, therefore the onus is on Ms Sithule Tshuma and allies to prove investors, victims and community at large wrong. The audio below refers;

2nd Audio***

Sithule: Mina you know what, they can do what they want to do at the end of the day I go to bed with a clear conscience. What I will tell you now is that, my Uncle is a ZIMRA boss. Then we have a lady Everjoy Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, her sister is a boss at the Deed office.
Portia: ‘So Sithu, when a Deed is said to be missing or have disappeared, what does it mean…
Sithule: ‘It doesn’t disappear, I think because everyone is going to look for it…..they end up protecting the buyer..
Sithule: As I’m telling you, Sikhanyiso Everjoy Ndlovu’s sister is the ZIMRA boss….Bridget Dube goes to Deed office…..once Zi checks…then me, my uncle does all assessments….but I can’t jeopardise his job by telling everyone…..
Sithule: Do you know what, I will tell you something, you are lucky, not that you are lucky, do you know that mina every permit In Harare, for people to work and do their job, you know permits take 6 years to come out, just because they don’t get paid, they just want bribe money, you hear them say ‘tirikuda mari isu’ (we want money). You know that every permit I was bribing paying $4000, just so they do their job.
In an article published by The Chronicle on June the 3rd 2023, Tshuma advised that Qoki projects began in 2020 and are estimated to be worth between US$20 million and US$25 million, ‘We are currently working on over 27 projects spread across Matabeleland, with additional land in Hwange, Plumtree, Esigodini, and surrounding areas of Bulawayo’. In her disclosure audio, where Tshuma confirms her lawyer Mr Zibusiso Charles Ncube can testify to, Tshuma outlined that she bribed Harare Spatial planning offices with a minimum of $4000. With all these bribery funds Tshuma is happily stating she paid, one is compelled to wonder if a whopping total of over $130 000 was spent by Qoki in bribing the Harare and perhaps Umguza and Bulawayo City Council for all these permits and other processes. Where did Tshuma get this plus $130 000 to pay for bribes? Qoki alleges they were doing this to help the women and that Qoki does not get paid to do the projects. The golden question for ‘MaGolide’ as loyalists call her, where did Tshuma get all this money for bribes? None of the investors so far have advised they paid Tshuma bribery money. How is Tshuma making her money in all these projects? What’s her interest? Is it really purely to help? Most investors are disgusted by these revelations and feel strongly violated by Qoki’s deception.
Shockingly, Ms Sithule Tshuma, a mother, a Mental health staff nurse, and a ‘self claimed philanthropy guru’, states clearly in most of her audios that she goes to bed with a clear conscience. One wonders how such self confessed and disclosed bribery fraudulent activities are not a concern to her? More to follow……
In a similar vein, the Qoki Trucks also continue to reveal more devastating and unbelievable Qoki management and decision making processes. Below is audio and investors views indicating that only one person Tshuma has the power to make decisions:

The common theme in all these Qoki Projects, is that Tshuma was encouraging the vulnerable women to borrow some loans to fund these experimental Projects, with Karen Kumalo being portrayed as the Bank 7 streams guru. Unbeknown to these victims that their borrowed loans were part of Tshuma and Kumalo’s 7 streams of income. It is hoped that now that the Qoki Highness is saying ‘this is now affecting me’, perhaps things might be done differently. Does that mean Tshuma only takes action to matters that only affect her personally? What kind of leadership style does Qoki employ? If any?
Ladies and gentlemen this is exactly what this news agency has been uncovering, this is for you to judge if this publication is being jealous, malicious and plotting a coup as accused or just pure advocacy journalism dedicated for victims and investors.
Lessons learnt.. do not judge a book by its cover but pay attention to the vibrations and their frequency. The 12 laws of universe come to mind. If ignorant or in any doubt please look up or revisit the topic.

Kasukuwere Fears For His Return To Zimbabwe

EXILED former cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere has announced that he fears for his safety if he returns to Zimbabwe where he is expected to launch his election campaign in person.

He will be contesting as an independent presidential candidate in the August 23 plebiscite after successfully filing his nomination in absentia on Tuesday.

Addressing the media at a press briefing in South Africa, Kasukuwere said he will be engaging responsible authorities to ensure his safety.

Kasukuwere left the country in the 2017 military coup that removed the late Robert Mugabe from power.

At that time he was facing some criminal charges which were later quashed by the High Court.

Asked if he does not fear returning to Zimbabwe after filing his nomination papers, Wednesday, Kasukuwere said he has to take security issues into consideration.

“Yes we have to take security issues into consideration. You don’t board a plane as passenger 34 and just rock up without doing some preparatory work.

“We did that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way,” he said.

He added, “But we trust that now we are in the election period. You can’t weaponise institutions against your opponents. I’m sure this is an election that everyone wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is not contested.

“We want our country to be back on an international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election with a good fight and at the end of the day we are all brothers and sisters.

“So we are concerned and we will be raising these issues with relevant institutions, we have our SADC board…it’s important that every contestant is projected and secure.

Kasukuwere also said “Now what we have in Zimbabwe is a caretaker president.”

“We are all equal now. The only day that will have a difference between myself, Mnangagwa and Chamisa …is after 23 August after counting and somebody has emerge… then we can start arresting each other if we want to arrest people. But the game is not about arresting each other. Let’s go to the ground and campaign. Let’s tell people what we can do,” he said.

On Wednesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said he is impressed with peace currently prevailing in the country urging the same during the election season.

“Zimbabwe is now a mature democracy. This (nomination) process is so peaceful. This is what we want and should continue now during the process of campaigning, during the process of elections. This is the peace we want as a mature democracy,” he said.

Kasukuwere Seeks SADC Protection From Vengeful Mnangagwa Regime

Presidential candidate Saviour Kasukuwere on Thursday hinted at seeking SADC protection from vengeful Zimbabwean authorities as he announced a slew of promises to the electorate while launching his ambitious bid for the top job.

The 52-year-old, who has been holed up in South Africa since 2018, was addressing journalists a day after he filed his nomination papers through a representative in Harare.

He said he plans to return to Zimbabwe soon to campaign ahead of general elections on August 23.

He admitted booking a flight to Harare from Johannesburg on June 21 as a decoy to test the response of authorities. A flight manifest with his name leaked online.

“We have to take security issues into consideration. We don’t board the plane and just rock up without doing some preparatory work,” he said.

“We did exactly that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way.”

Kasukuwere, who served as youth minister and later local government minister, was forced into exile following Robert Mugabe’s November 2017 ouster as president by the military.

He is demanding to be allowed to campaign freely.

“We trust now that we are in the election period, you can’t weaponise institutions against your opponents,” he said about President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who succeeded Mugabe. “I am sure this is an election that everybody wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is uncontested so that we allow our country to be back on the international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election; we had a good fight but at the end of the day, we are still brothers and sisters.”

The former Zanu-PF political commissar said he was going to take the necessary precaution to ensure his own safety when he eventually returns to Zimbabwe.

“So yes, we are concerned, we are still very concerned and we will be raising these issues with relevant authorities. We have our Southern African Development Committee (SADC) body, we have the monitoring teams that will be coming to our country, it’s important that every contestant is protected and secure,” he said.

The once powerful politician said he was going to hire buses for Zimbabweans based in South Africa to travel home and cast their ballots.

“We are going to be arranging about 500 buses or so to transport Zimbabweans to come and vote in the next elections. Secondly, Dr (Walter) Mzembi has a very able team which he is working with to create a database of Zimbabweans from various stations in life to bring forward their ideas and hopefully to be part and parcel of those who will be able to come in and jump-start our economy,” he said.

As part of his plans, Kasukuwere said he intends to address the Gukurahundi atrocities which have been parked by the Zanu-PF-led government for nearly 40 years.

“Post-independence violence in the Matebeleland region, we need to be sincere, engage and bury our differences. We can’t adopt an ostrich mentality; you hide your head and you think people can’t see you,” he said.

“You have to be genuine so that people come forward and we all work in one direction.”

To entice voters, Kasukuwere also promised – if voted into power – to create employment opportunities, reform state institutions, grow the economy, fight corruption, among other things.

He promised to harness Zimbabwe’s mineral wealth to drive new investments in infrastructure development, including building new roads, power stations and revamping the rail network.

The politician was in the company of former tourism and foreign minister Walter Mzembi, another of the exiled former Mugabe allies who is now assisting him with his campaign for the country’s top job. He described Mzembi as his “running mate.”

ZDF, Oppah Comment On Monica Mutsvangwa Sloppiness At ZBC

Muchinguri on Monica Mutsvangwa

In a recent statement during the COVID pandemic, Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri expressed her concerns about Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa’s alleged lack of commitment to nation building. Muchinguri went on to accuse Mutsvangwa of wasting time on self-promotion rather than carrying out the important responsibilities of her position. Furthermore, Muchinguri blamed the Chinese government for the creation of COVID-19, suggesting that it originated from lab experiments that spiraled out of control.

Criticism of Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa

Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri raised eyebrows with her remarks directed at Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa. Muchinguri accused Mutsvangwa of neglecting her duties to promote herself instead. These claims have drawn attention due to their potential impact on the government’s ability to effectively communicate with the public and foster a sense of unity and progress.

It is essential for government officials, particularly those in positions responsible for information dissemination, to prioritize the needs of the nation and work towards the betterment of society. Nation building requires collaboration, effective communication, and a clear focus on the welfare of the public. Any diversion from these core principles can hinder progress and create divisions within society.

The Importance of Effective Broadcasting

One of the concerns highlighted by Minister Muchinguri is the alleged failure of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) to fulfill its role in educating and protecting the public. She claims that instead of focusing on these crucial aspects, the ZBC bosses are more interested in self-promotion.

Public broadcasting plays a significant role in disseminating accurate and timely information to the masses. It is through platforms like ZBC that citizens receive updates on important matters, including health advisories, public safety measures, and government initiatives. If the primary objective of public broadcasters is compromised by self-serving agendas, it undermines the public’s trust and reduces the effectiveness of such institutions in fulfilling their intended purpose.

The Controversial Claim on the Origin of COVID-19

In addition to criticizing Mutsvangwa’s alleged lack of dedication to nation building, Muchinguri made controversial statements regarding the origins of COVID-19. She implicated the Chinese government, suggesting that the virus was created during lab experiments that spiraled out of control.

It is important to note that the origin of COVID-19 is still a subject of ongoing scientific investigation. While various hypotheses have been put forward, including the possibility of a laboratory incident, conclusive evidence has yet to be established. Accusations without concrete evidence can potentially fuel misinformation and create unnecessary tensions between nations.

The Need for Unity and Collaboration

In times of crisis, it is crucial for government officials to prioritize the welfare of the nation and work together towards common goals. Unity and collaboration are essential elements of nation building. It is through collective efforts, effective communication, and transparent governance that societies can overcome challenges and thrive.

Government officials should focus on fostering an environment of trust, where public interest is prioritized over personal gain. The responsibility to educate, protect, and serve the public should remain paramount, ensuring the well-being and progress of the nation.

Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri’s criticisms of Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa have brought to light concerns about the prioritization of personal promotion over nation building. The importance of effective broadcasting and the responsible dissemination of information cannot be understated in the development and progress of any country. Moreover, making unsubstantiated claims about the origin of COVID-19 can further complicate global efforts to understand and address the pandemic.

To promote a united and prosperous society, government officials must focus on the needs of the nation, collaborate with each other, and communicate.

21 Presidential Candidates Submitted Papers For Nomination

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) said 21 candidates submitted their nomination papers on Wednesday, but 10 were not accepted for various reasons including failing to pay the US$20,000 fee or not having enough nominations from registered voters. Each candidate was required to have 10 nominations from each of the country’s 10 provinces.

ZEC’s deputy chairman Rodney Kiwa told the state-run Zimpapers Television News that President Emmerson Mnangagwa, leader of Zanu-PF, and his main rival Nelson Chamisa of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) both had their papers accepted.

Ex-cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere will also be on the ballot as an independent, joined by MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora; Lovemore Madhuku of NCA; Joseph Busha of Free Zim Congress; Trust Chikohora of ZCPD; Blessing Kasiyamhuru of ZIPP; Wilbert Archbald Mubaiwa of NPC, Gwinyai Muzorewa of UANC and Harry Peter Wilson of DOP.

Kiwa said other lists of successful candidates for the National Assembly and local authority elections would be released by June 30 to give room for aggrieved candidates to mount court appeals.

Kiwa said a number of double candidates for one unnamed party – believed to be the CCCC – were recorded in Harare, Bulawayo and Masvingo. The CCC says unapproved candidates forged signatures and has vowed to take legal action.

Mzembi Is My Running Mate, Says Kasukuwere

Presidential candidate Saviour Kasukuwere says he prefers a United States system of running mates to create certainty in leadership succession adding that former foreign affairs minister Walter Mzembi, also exiled, is his “running mate”

Speaking during a press briefing in South Africa early this week, Kasukuwere confirmed booking a flight to Harare on June 20, “Passenger 34”, to test response by authorities in Zimbabwe to his return from South Africa exile and got ‘very interesting results.’

“It’s important that each contestant is protected, is secure. What we have in Zimbabwe right is a caretaker president. We are all equal now. The only time we will have a difference is after August 23 when a winner is announced” – Kasukuwere says.

He says he will return home soon and visit every district to campaign, adding that it is impossible to run a campaign from a foreign country.

Kasukuwere says he is arranging “500 buses or so” to transport Zimbabweans from neighbouring countries to travel home and vote on August 23.

On term limits, Kasukuwere says: “We are now all students of history. We have seen the problems of overstaying your welcome which happened then (with Mugabe). We urged him on to complete the task of land reform. We wanted him to go in dignity. We don’t like how he was treated.”

Road To Elections Has Not Been Free And Fair: Analysts

Political and economic analysts have predicted doom ahead of the general election saying the election process has been marred by suppression of civic space, liberties and controversies around the delimitation boundaries.

Speaking on Al Jazeera’s Inside Story, an analytical episode that looked at upcoming elections, political analyst Tendai Mbofana said the road to election has not been free and fair.

Mbofana cited challenges faced by the opposition parties including the police barring many of its numerous rallies.

“So far the elections do not seem free and fair at all, let us remember the election is not an event it’s a process so this election that we are headed towards in August started at the end of the previous election in 2018,” he said.

“For the past five years what we have seen has not been good does not augur well for a free, fair and credible election.

“We have seen that the opposition has not been allowed to campaign freely, most of their rallies where they go out to campaign to the public have been barred or banned most of the time they have not been given clearance by the police,” he added

ZEC Invites Applications For Postal Voting

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has called for postal vote applications for the upcoming harmonised election, with a deadline of July 5.

ZEC Vice Chairperson, Commissioner Rodney Kiwa, stated that efforts would be made to recruit polling officers from their local areas to reduce the need for postal voting.

“ZEC has written to  Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and Defence ministries inviting applications for postal voting. Foreign Affairs because of diplomats serving outside the country, Home Affairs because of deployment of ZRP personnel outside the country for peacekeeping operations and immigration because of location of personnel from their preferred polling stations. ZEC makes every effort to recruit polling officers from their local areas where they are registered to cancel out the need for postal voting. Applications for postal voting must be received by ZEC by 5 July,” said Kiwa.

“The only individuals who can vote by post, according to section 72 of the Electoral Act, are registered voters unable to vote at their polling station due to being on duty as members of a disciplined force, serving the government outside Zimbabwe, or being the spouse of such an official,” he added.

Nomination Courts throughout the country received nomination papers from aspiring candidates on Wednesday.

The election is scheduled for August 23.

CCC Candidate Selection: Misunderstanding of or Disagreement with Procedure or Party or Persons?

By Vivid Gwede|The introduction of a new and innovative candidate selection procedure by the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections has occasioned heated debate.

Some commentary has lauded the process as innovative and effective.

A contrarian perspective has painted the process as not understandable, confusing and vague even to CCC members, or outright opaque.

To dispel this latter charge, this submission argues, that those who called the procedure not understandable, confusing, and opaque were mostly in fact, pre-emptively disagreeing with, or opposed to it, latently or vehemently.

In short, they were attacking rather than disinterestedly assessing it, even unfairly so.

Noticeable Disagreement

From the outset, the CCC candidate selection procedure ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections on 23 August attracted two noticeable strands of disagreement with it, or opposition to it.

Firstly, opposition to the candidate selection procedure on account of preference and nostalgia for traditional primary elections, which are familiar and deemed convenient and best practice.

Secondly, opposition to the candidate selection procedure, stemming from deeper opposition to the CCC’s politics in general, and its leader in particular, and or ideas about both the leader and his politics.

Suffices it, to just highlight the above two observations.

And then proceed to argue, that latent opposition or vehement disagreement with the process was however publicly and actively performed and or concealed as misunderstanding of the same process, with subsequent labels such as “opaque”, “confusing” and “chaotic.”

Wilful Ignorance, Disinterest

Those who wanted to know the procedure could have done so, by taking an active interest and effort to study and know it, as it was by definition new.

Thus, positively inclined researchers and commentators outside the CCC structures – which structures were briefed and oriented on the process — took this route and positively commented on it, even quoting some relevant documents or manuals.

Some commentators took no effort, simply insisting that it was opaque, rendering it so by default, at least to themselves.

This attitude simply masked at the deeper level the fact that these critics disagreed with the process or the personalities.

Thus, having taken a pre-emptive attitude of disagreeing with the new CCC candidate selection process such critics saw no point or need in understanding it.

Such critics therefore masked both their dislike and wilful ignorance of the process in idle protestations that it was opaque, confusing and not understandable.

Yet, such attitude disrespected the fact that this was the biggest opposition in the country, and potential governing party.

The pre-emptive attitude that the procedure was incapable of being understood was detrimental in some respects.

A crucial consequence of the consistent narrative that the CCC candidate selection procedure was opaque, by those who were simply expressing their inherent disagreement, discouraged those who genuinely wanted and would have made efforts to follow it and understand it.

Thus, it manufactured and encouraged, in some innocent quarters, genuine ignorance of the process.

Contrary Evidence

The evidence shows that the process was open and publicly explained.

Unsubstantiated claims were made that even the ordinary members of the CCC did not understand the process and could suffer prejudice, even as same members were happily and easily engaging with it across the country.

The pre-emptive attitude that the procedure was opaque actively ignored official platforms created by the CCC spokespersons, Elections Bureau and its President to explain the process, including press conferences.

In efforts, not to lose the people and carry everyone along, through the different stages, the CCC even made these public statements periodic.

In those press conferences, various stages of the process were shared, and explained, including the nomination, vetting, validation, caucuses, and candidate declaration.

The CCC even also explained that the ultimate result would not be determined by any of the above stages, but a combination of all.

What was not shared for public consumption, would have been either superfluous or even strategically unwise in an authoritarian environment, such as a detailed calendar, which was however shared with the relevant structures – yes, structures – through relevant channels, within reasonable notice periods!

The available evidence does not point to efforts to make the process opaque, but rather to publicly explain it.

‘Where are our candidates?’

A symptomatic expression of this “opaque” and “confusing” narrative was the refrain: “Where is our candidates list?” with the insinuation that there might be an unresolvable hide-and-seek!

Yet, even this issue of timelines and candidate list was intuitive.

Those familiar with the law would have known that after the sitting of the Nomination Court on June 21, 2023, all final candidates contesting in the 2023 elections would have been known having been publicized by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), including those of the CCC.

In fact, that would be a final list of eligible candidates rather than a draft.

Whether making the list known way before nomination would still have not guaranteed the eradication of some cases of double candidates, which is a deeper and complex question as we have seen in the past.

Thus, accusations of playing hide-and-seek with candidates’ list was unfounded and manufactured hysteria.

Where certain information was not made public mostly to do with timing than anything else, the CCC president, Adv. Nelson Chamisa, gave an explanation through what he called the doctrine of strategic ambiguity and justified its relevance to the political and electoral context.

Yet, we all know it would have been better strategic ambiguity had no explanation been offered.

Save this would have created real confusion, opaqueness and misunderstanding, contrary to the party’s perceptible wish!

But, what is astounding, is that to some commentators the process had to remain “opaque,” despite the fact that key documents and templates such as vetting forms and procedure manual were made public documents, searchable on the internet!

This gives credence to the perception of wilful ignorance.

Conclusion

Sentiments that that the CCC candidate selection procedure was opaque, confusing and not understandable may have simply reflected, on a deeper level, the critics’ disagreement with the process and its implementers, and subsequent reluctance to understand it, than fair commentary.

This disagreement also stemmed from understandable comfort with primary elections which are familiar, but also pre-conceived and calculated dislike of opposition politics and ideas in general, as well as particular personalities such as those of the CCC leader, Adv. Chamisa.

In doing so, a clear-eyed opportunity to engage with the innovative process was missed, which is now only available in retrospect.

Zanu PF Accused Of Sting Operation Against CCC Nomination Process

THE opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party has accused Zanu PF of causing confusion in the nomination process in which it ended up fielding double and in some cases triple nominations across the country.

Addressing a Press conference in Harare late yesterday, CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said Zanu PF forged signatures on nomination papers to cause chaos after it failed to penetrate the party’s systems.

“Zanu PF failed to penetrate our systems and what did they do, they went and forged our signatures and created 20 odd double candidates that you see across the country for National Assembly and a number of them in wards across the country,” she said.

Mahere said they discovered double nominations in 20 provinces and the matter had since been reported to the police, and an appeal with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) had also been filed.

“We have filed objections in terms of the Electoral Act to people whose names appear as our candidates and were not signed for by us. The second issue is (that) criminal reports have been made to the police in Masvingo and other constituencies because this is a fraud, it’s criminal,” Mahere said.

“In some cases, we have a candidate who says well my money was paid and papers filed but not by me, I don’t know who filed these, there is someone clearly behind that,” she said.

Mahere said they would be going to court since they had sufficient evidence to prove there was fraud because the forms of those involved in double nomination had dubious logos and wrong signatures.

Meanwhile, Zanu PF has distanced itself from the chaos in the CCC saying it was satisfied with its own nomination process and was expecting victory in the August 23 polls.

Soldier Shoots Villager

BEITBRIDGE-A Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) member is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting a villager for refusing to carry him in a donkey-drawn cart.

Murambadoro allegedly shot Hardlife Ndou of Chikuvava Village, Chief Matibe, in Beitbridge on May 30, 2023, around 5 pm.

Circumstances are that Ndou and Joseph Mbedzi gave Murambadoro a lift. He was going to a military base.

Murambadoro then allegedly ordered Ndou to take him back to a mine where he was coming from. Ndou refused and argued that the cart did not belong to him.

Citizens Unstoppable

Tinashe Sambiri

The Zanu PF regime’s desperate attempt to subvert the will of the people is futile.

This was said by CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa.

Briefing the media after successfully filing nomination papers, President Chamisa said :

ZEC charges are criminal, illegal and too high.
Zanu PF is doomed. We are facing a weak Zanu PF and this makes our task easy.
A factionalised Zanu PF is weak and doomed.
We have paid the required amount but what ZEC has done is unAfrican, illegal and unconstitutional.

How can one pay for offering services to the public.”

He added :
” The issue of Tendai Biti, everything is under control, our focus is on government.

Zanu PF is battling tooth and nail to frustrate us but we are formidable. “

Mnangagwa’s Girlfriend Announces 2 Warrants Of Arrest For Kasukuwere

ZANU PF-Controlled Herald Announces Warrants of Arrest Against Robert Mugabe’s Successor Kasukuwere

By Farai D Hove | In a sudden turn of events, the ZANU PF-controlled newspaper, The Herald, has announced two arrest warrants against Saviour Kasukuwere, the former ZANU PF National Commissar and “successor” to the late head of state Robert Mugabe. This revelation comes just 24 hours after Kasukuwere declared his candidacy for the upcoming 2023 presidential election, challenging the incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The Herald, in a seemingly mocking tone, reported the warrants while quoting Mnangagwa’s girlfriend, Virginia Mabhiza, who emphasized that these warrants were issued prior to Kasukuwere expressing his intention to run for the presidency. The article aims to shed light on the circumstances surrounding these warrants and address the claims of political motivation made by Kasukuwere.

Background:
Saviour Kasukuwere was among the 11 candidates who successfully filed their nomination papers as independent candidates for the presidential elections scheduled for August 23. While based in South Africa, Kasukuwere has been vocal about his concerns regarding potential political persecution by the Zimbabwean government upon his return to campaign for the elections. In an attempt to portray the charges against him as politically motivated, he has sought international media attention.

Warrants of Arrest:
Contradicting Kasukuwere’s claims, the Herald printed saying the arrest warrants were issued on January 18, 2019, by retired Harare magistrate Mr Hosea Mujaya. The warrants were a consequence of Kasukuwere’s failure to appear for trial on four counts of criminal abuse of office. Moreover, another warrant was issued after Kasukuwere failed to resubmit his passport to the clerk of court within the agreed period. The existence of these warrants indicates that they were not issued in response to Kasukuwere’s presidential aspirations, but rather as a result of his non-compliance with legal proceedings.

Police Confirmation:
The National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the validity of the warrants and stated that they had not been cancelled. The first warrant was issued based on Kasukuwere’s failure to attend court proceedings, while the second was related to his failure to return his passport within the stipulated timeframe. Nyathi emphasized that the police were in possession of these warrants and were yet to execute them.

Government’s Response:

Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary, Virginia Mabhiza, asserted that when faced with an arrest warrant, an individual should submit themselves before the law. Mabhiza stressed that Kasukuwere should engage his legal representation to advise him on the appropriate actions to take, including seeking the cancellation of the warrants. She reiterated that submitting oneself to the law is standard procedure.

The sudden announcement of arrest warrants against Saviour Kasukuwere by The Herald, a newspaper controlled by the ruling ZANU PF party, raises questions about the timing and potential political motivations behind the disclosure. However, the confirmation of these warrants by the police, coupled with the government’s response, suggests that they are not a response to Kasukuwere’s presidential candidacy. Rather, they stem from his failure to comply with court proceedings and his unfulfilled obligations related to his passport. As the election season unfolds, it is crucial to differentiate between political maneuvering and legitimate legal processes to ensure a fair and transparent electoral environment in Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa Transfers 300 ZRP Cops Ahead Of 2023 Elections

Routine Restructuring: 300 Junior and Senior Police Officers Reshuffled

In a recent development within the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), 300 junior and senior officers have been reshuffled as part of an ongoing routine restructuring. This process involves the movement of officers between provinces at the top layer and between stations and headquarters. The aim of these transfers is to ensure that officers maintain a breadth of outlook and do not become entrenched in a particular post for an extended period.

Out of the 300 police officers affected by the reshuffling, 100 are senior officers, while the remaining officers are junior members. The transfers have seen these individuals being relocated to police stations and headquarters across the country. Such reassignments provide an opportunity for officers to gain diverse experiences and perspectives from working in different areas.

At the most senior level, Commissioner David Mahoya, the Officer Commanding Police Masvingo Province, has been transferred to head Mashonaland West. Commissioner Crispen Charumbira, who was previously based at Police General Headquarters (PGHQ), has assumed the role of Commissioner in Masvingo Province. Additionally, other high-ranking officers have been moved to different positions and provinces, such as Bulawayo and Manicaland.

The reassignments also extend to the next level down, where Assistant Commissioner Dorothy Matshilana, for instance, has been transferred from Matabeleland North to PGHQ Quartermaster. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Obeylaw Moyo has moved from PGHQ to Mashonaland Central to assume an operational role there. These transfers ensure a rotation of personnel and provide opportunities for officers to contribute their expertise and skills in various capacities.

According to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the National Police Spokesperson, these transfers are a regular part of the police service and should not be considered unusual. He emphasizes that the Commissioner-General of Police has the prerogative to make transfers, and these moves are intended to tap into the officers’ experience while aligning them with the requirements of the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Asst Comm Nyathi also highlights that some of the transfers were made to address staffing gaps within the police services.

The ZRP’s human resource policy aims to enhance performance within the organization through reassignments. It promotes versatility among senior officers, facilitates the utilization of their experience, and supports job rotation. Moreover, these transfers are necessary to meet new policing demands as the country progresses towards the goals outlined in Vision 2030, which envisions Zimbabwe becoming an upper middle-income society.

It is worth noting that the ZRP underwent a significant transformation in 2018, introducing a new structure aimed at rebuilding public trust. These routine reshufflings of personnel further contribute to the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency in serving the nation.

In conclusion, the recent reshuffling of 300 junior and senior police officers within the Zimbabwe Republic Police is part of a routine restructuring process. These transfers are intended to maintain a breadth of outlook among officers and prevent them from becoming too entrenched in one position. By rotating personnel between provinces, stations, and headquarters, the police force aims to tap into officers’ experience, promote job versatility, and meet new policing demands. Such reassignments align with the ZRP’s human resource policy and its commitment to enhance performance and adapt to evolving needs as Zimbabwe strives to achieve its long-term development goals.- State Media

CCC, ZEC Clash Over Registration Of Shadowy Party

Dear @ZECzim,

We wanted to inquire whether there exists a political party by the name of Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC).

We are curious about the electoral law with regard to the use of similar symbols by various parties.

We are wondering how someone was registered with a political party that is identical to our party, CCC. Could you kindly clarify this to the citizens?- CCC

No Zim Clubs In African Super League

There will be no Zimbabwean teams in the inaugural CAF African Super League (ASL) which is expected to start in October this year.

There have been rumours suggesting that the country’s two traditional giants Highlanders and Dynamos will take part in the new competition.

However, according to latest suggestions, only South African side Mamelodi Sundowns and Angolan team Petro de Luanda will represent the COSAFA region in the eight-team Super League when it starts this year.

Egyptian side Al Ahly, Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, Esperance from Tunisia, TP Mazembe (DRC), AC Horoya (Guinea) and Simba Sports Club from Tanzania complete the list.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe confirmed to the SABC Sport that the African Super League will start in October, probably with a different name.

“It’s very important, in October this year the inaugural African Super League will commence. We know the dates but some of the big sponsors are saying the history of the Super League in Europe was not good and if you associate the name ‘super’ to a football competition, it has negative connotations,” he said.

“We’ve proceeded thus far and of course, we may change the name but what is indeed gonna happen is in October this year, the inaugural African Super League and I’m gonna keep using the name until such time when we’ve changed it, is gonna kick off.”

The CAF boss added: “At the heart of that, it’s to make sure that there’s more financial resources, more investment in football pitches, more investments in academies, more investment in the youth, more investment in football for boys and girls and also more money for the players. Football has a short life and I’ve said this for the last 20 years. Every player for as long as they play football must make as much money as possible.”- Soccer24 News

Mourinho Resigns

Jose Mourinho has resigned from his role on UEFA ‘s football board after he received a four-match ban in the Europa League.

The sanction resulted after Mourinho criticised Anthony Taylor’s refereeing in Roma’s loss to Sevilla in the Europa League final.

The confrontation led to Taylor and his family being harassed at Budapest Airport by supporters of the Italian club.

Following the ban, the gaffer has resigned from the newly-created board he was only appointed to in April.

The Portuguese manager communicated his decision in a letter to UEFA’s chief of football Zvonimir Boban, who is also the chairman of the football board.

“In thanking you for the invitation you extended to me to be a member of the UEFA football board, I regret to inform you that, effective immediately, I will be renouncing my participation in this group,” read the letter.

“The conditions which I so strongly believed in when I joined are no longer standing and I felt the obligation to take this decision.

“I kindly ask that you also communicate my decision to the President Mr. Aleksander Ceferin.”

The UEFA Football Board was an idea set up by Boban and former referee Roberto Rosetti, made up of illustrious current and former players and coaches who could suggest improvements to the sport and its organisation.-Soccer24 News

Broke Mwonzora Fails To Field Candidates

By-The opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T), led by Douglas Mwonzora, has failed to field candidates in all constituencies in Zimbabwe, reportedly due to the party’s financial troubles.

The party’s information and publicity secretary, Witness Dube, told Voice of America (VOA) Studio 7 in an interview that they were unable to pay nomination fees for all their candidates across the country by the close of the Nomination Court. Dube could not provide further details and referred the press to the party’s president, Mwonzora. He said:

We failed to pay nomination fees for all our candidates across the country by close of the Nomination Court. Please get details from the president.

The party’s secretary general, Tapiwa Mashakada, issued a statement to all MDC-T provinces, advising all candidates to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Read the statement:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, all candidates are now advised to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Further communication will be issued regarding the legal status of their nomination papers in view of non-payment. Any inconvenience suffered is most sincerely regretted.

Mwonzora had previously indicated that they were ready for the council, parliamentary, and presidential elections.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF and Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), bitter rivals, have successfully filed their nomination papers at the High Court for the upcoming harmonised elections on August 23.

Zanu PF Informer Withdraws From Presidential Race

By- A suspected Zanu PF informer, Robert Chapman, who is based in the United States and leads a party called the Democratic Union of Zimbabwe, has withdrawn from the 2023 Presidential election.

Chapman expressed gratitude to those who supported his campaign for an alternative option to Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

He cited financial constraints, the limited time before voting day, and concerns about possible fractionalisation and infiltration as reasons for his withdrawal.

 He said:

I would like to personally thank all those who worked hard and remained true to our cause for an alternative option to the political landscape of Zimbabwe.

As I and we all reflect on this moment, the tough lessons allow the opportunity to build back better and wiser. I look forward to campaigning on the ground with all our successfully nominated candidates and remain committed to improving the dialogue about building a better Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe elections, which will elect a President, House of Assembly Members, and Councilors, are scheduled for August 23, 2023. A number of aspiring candidates were unable to register for the upcoming elections due to the high fees charged by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). The fees for presidential candidates are US$20,000, while those contesting for National Assembly seats are charged US$1,000.

Chamisa Unveils His Winning Team

By- The Nelson Chamisa-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has published the names of parliamentary candidates who filed their nominations across the country on Wednesday.

Notably, the final list excluded several veterans, ensuring new faces in the upcoming parliament following the general elections on August 23.

According to Chamisa, the party has selected the most competent individuals to lead the country’s recovery. The CCC initiated the process of selecting their candidates in April but faced criticism for delaying the announcement of the winners until the sitting of the nomination courts. Downfall For Mwonzora As He Fails To Field Candidates

By-Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) leader Douglas Mwonzora’s political career could end this year after he failed to field candidates in all Zimbabwe constituencies due to the party’s financial troubles.

No Zimbabwean Clubs In African Super League

Mourinho Quits UEFA Post

Donate Blood, Save Lives

The slogan for 2023 World Blood Donor Day campaign, celebrated on 14 June 2023, is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play, by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of giving blood or plasma regularly to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products that can be always available, all over the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.

The objectives are to:

celebrate and thank individuals who donate blood and encourage more people to become new donors;
encourage people in good health to donate blood regularly, as often as is safe and possible, to transform the quality of life for transfusion dependent patients and help to build a secure blood supply in all countries in the world;
highlight the critical roles of voluntary non-remunerated regular blood and plasma donations in achieving universal access to safe blood products for all populations; and
mobilize support at national, regional and global levels among governments and development partners to invest in, strengthen and sustain national blood programmes.
their treatment.

Mutsvangwa Sinks Mnangagwa

Monica Mutsvangwa’s Newsroom Africa Interview: Unveiling Falsehoods and Implications

By Terry Lunga | Monica Mutsvangwa, a cabinet minister in Zimbabwe, recently participated in an interview on Newsroom Africa, where she discussed the topic of sanctions against Zimbabwe in the lead-up to the 2023 elections. This interview has been likened to a classic GoldMafia documentary upgrade, as it has exposed Mutsvangwa’s alleged falsehoods regarding the subject of sanctions. The repercussions of her statements have now left the cabinet minister isolated, potentially affecting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s presidency. However, the controversy surrounding the interview goes beyond sanctions, with allegations of personal misconduct and corruption that have marred Mutsvangwa’s reputation and raised concerns about accountability within the government.

Falsehoods Regarding Sanctions and Implications

During the Newsroom Africa interview, Monica Mutsvangwa made statements that have called into question her credibility and transparency. Her claims contradicted the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s announcement that there are no sanctions against Zimbabwe’s imports or exports. This contradiction not only exposed a lack of coordination and consistency within the government but also fueled speculation about the truthfulness of official statements. Mutsvangwa’s remarks suggest that she may be acting independently to undermine President Mnangagwa’s presidency, further destabilizing the political landscape.

Allegations of Personal Misconduct and Corruption

In addition to the falsehoods surrounding sanctions, Monica Mutsvangwa has faced serious allegations of personal misconduct and corruption. Democracy advocate Makomborero Haruzivishe highlighted Mutsvangwa’s family circumstances, stating that her children are based in the United States of America. Haruzivishe went on to claim that Mutsvangwa’s first-born child, Neville Mutsvangwa, engages in illegal forex trading on the black market. These allegations, if proven true, raise significant ethical concerns about Mutsvangwa’s integrity as a public servant and her commitment to serving the interests of the Zimbabwean people.

Public Outrage and Calls for Accountability

The revelations surrounding Monica Mutsvangwa’s alleged misconduct have triggered widespread public outrage and calls for accountability. CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere expressed concern over the damage caused to the country’s image by Mutsvangwa’s interview. The allegations of corruption and the stark contrast between Mutsvangwa’s personal wealth and the hardships faced by many Zimbabweans have further fueled public discontent. Democracy advocate Makomborero Haruzivishe’s impassioned plea for Zimbabweans to take action during the upcoming elections reflects the growing sentiment among the population.

The Role of the Media in Exposing Misconduct

Amidst the controversy, socialite Lynne Mudonhi proposed applauds for the journalist who exposed Monica Mutsvangwa. This highlights the crucial role of the media in uncovering the truth and holding public officials accountable. Journalists have a responsibility to pursue investigative journalism and provide the public with accurate information, enabling citizens to make informed decisions.

Conclusion

Monica Mutsvangwa’s Newsroom Africa interview on the subject of sanctions against Zimbabwe ahead of the 2023 elections has exposed falsehoods and sparked a series of damaging allegations. Her statements, contradicting official announcements, have put her at odds with President Mnangagwa’s administration and raised concerns about her motives. The allegations of personal misconduct and corruption have further tarnished Mutsvangwa’s reputation and intensified public outrage. As the country moves towards the upcoming elections, Zimbabweans are increasingly calling for accountability and transparency within the government. The media’s role in uncovering the truth and shedding light on misconduct should be recognized and celebrated, as it plays a crucial role in fostering a more accountable and just society.

CCC Confronts ZEC Over Registration Of Mnangagwa Surrogate Party

Dear @ZECzim,

We wanted to inquire whether there exists a political party by the name of Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC).

We are curious about the electoral law with regard to the use of similar symbols by various parties.

We are wondering how someone was registered with a political party that is identical to our party, CCC. Could you kindly clarify this to the citizens?- CCC

Basic First Aid Tips For Miners

CIMAS’ Demonic Price Jump’s A National Security Threat

By Dorrothy Moyo | The recent surge in subscriptions for Zimbabwe’s medical aid provider, CIMAS, has raised eyebrows and triggered concerns about national security. Within a remarkably short span of just one month, CIMAS witnessed its subscriber base almost quadruple, with figures skyrocketing from RTGS 500,000 to nearly RTGS 2 million. While the reliability of CIMAS’ services has been acknowledged, this sudden and dramatic increase in subscriptions warrants a closer examination due to its potential implications for the country’s national security. This article aims to shed light on the reasons behind this surge and its associated risks.

The Popularity of CIMAS

CIMAS, as a medical aid provider, has gained a reputation for being more reliable than its counterparts in Zimbabwe. The CIMAS Medexec package, which you and your wife are subscribed to, has evidently appealed to many Zimbabweans seeking quality healthcare coverage. The trust placed in CIMAS is primarily rooted in its ability to offer comprehensive medical services, provide timely access to healthcare facilities, and deliver efficient customer service.

The National Security Implications

While the surge in CIMAS subscriptions may initially seem like a positive development, it raises national security concerns for several reasons:

1. Strain on Healthcare Infrastructure: The sudden influx of subscribers puts immense pressure on Zimbabwe’s healthcare infrastructure. The existing network of hospitals, clinics, and healthcare professionals may struggle to accommodate the increased demand for services. This strain on the healthcare system can lead to longer waiting times, overcrowded facilities, and potentially compromised patient care, thereby impacting the overall well-being of the population.

2. Diversion of Medical Resources: With a surge in CIMAS subscriptions, medical resources such as medications, medical equipment, and personnel could become scarce. The diversion of these resources towards CIMAS may inadvertently disrupt the availability of healthcare services for non-subscribers, exacerbating existing healthcare inequalities and compromising the overall health of the nation.

3. Security Risks to Critical Infrastructure: The sudden concentration of a significant portion of the population under a single medical aid provider poses a risk to critical infrastructure. In the event of a cyber-attack or system failure targeting CIMAS, the potential disruption of healthcare services for a large number of subscribers could have far-reaching consequences, affecting the stability and security of the nation.

4. Financial Vulnerability: The financial implications of a rapid increase in subscriptions must be carefully considered. If CIMAS were to face financial challenges due to the sudden surge, it could potentially impact the stability of the company, compromising its ability to provide quality healthcare services. This scenario could lead to a ripple effect on the national economy and create additional socio-economic challenges for Zimbabweans.

Addressing the Concerns

To mitigate the national security risks associated with CIMAS’ surge in subscriptions, several actions should be taken:

1. Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure: The government and relevant stakeholders should prioritize the expansion and improvement of healthcare infrastructure. This includes investing in additional healthcare facilities, enhancing capacity-building programs, and increasing the number of healthcare professionals to cater to the growing demand.

2. Diversification of Medical Aid Providers: Encouraging competition among medical aid providers would help distribute the strain on resources and reduce the concentration of subscribers within a single provider. This diversification could be achieved through measures such as incentivizing new players to enter the market, promoting alternative medical aid providers, and fostering an environment of fair competition.

3. Enhancing Cybersecurity Measures: CIMAS and other medical aid providers must invest in robust cybersecurity infrastructure to safeguard critical healthcare systems. Regular security audits, staff training programs, and collaboration with relevant authorities would help protect against cyber threats and ensure the continuity of healthcare services.

4. Regulatory Oversight: The government should review and strengthen regulatory frameworks governing medical aid providers to ensure their

Jonathan Moyo Lyrically Displays “2023 Ballot Paper”

By Dorrothy Moyo | In recent years, Professor Jonathan Moyo has gained notoriety for his outspoken criticism of the Zimbabwean government and his involvement in exposing the alleged rigging of the 2018 elections. His latest endeavor involves the creation of a lyrical 2023 ballot paper, which portrays Nelson Chamisa as number 11 and President Emmerson Mnangagwa as number 1. This article aims to analyze the poetry and meaning in Professor Moyo’s ballot paper, considering his role in exposing the alleged electoral malpractice in 2018.

Background:
In the 2018 Zimbabwean elections, Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance, challenged President Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF). The election was marred by allegations of rigging and irregularities, leading to widespread concern among opposition parties and international observers. Professor Jonathan Moyo, as the former Information minister, played a significant role in highlighting these alleged irregularities and exposing what he believed to be electoral malpractice.

Analysis of the Lyrical Ballot Paper:
Professor Moyo’s lyrical 2023 ballot paper, featuring Chamisa as number 11 and Mnangagwa as number 1, must be evaluated from two perspectives: fiction and political interpretation.

1. Factual Accuracy:
The numbering of candidates on a ballot paper ordinarily follows a specific alphabetic order based on electoral regulations. Moyo’s copy displays the notorious pitching off of Chamisa’s entry so that it does not rest on number 2, which thing the electoral commission shamelessly did in the 2018.

Moyo writes laying it all out as follows:
Presidential ballot paper for 2023 elections

1 Amnangarwa
2 Busha
3 Chikohora
4 Kasukuwere
5 Madhuku
6 Mwonzora
7…
8….
9….
10….
11 Zichamisa”

If Professor Moyo’s ballot paper accurately reflects the official order, it would raise questions about the impartiality of the electoral process.

However, without concrete evidence or access to the official ballot paper for the 2023 elections, it is challenging to verify the accuracy of the claims made by Professor Moyo. The accuracy of his ballot paper relies heavily on the assumption that the previous elections were rigged and that the same pattern will be repeated in 2023. It is crucial to note that without substantiated evidence, claims of rigging remain speculative.

2. Political Interpretation:
The lyrical nature of the ballot paper implies that it serves as a political statement rather than a factual document. Professor Moyo’s intent appears to be to draw attention to his belief that the 2018 elections were rigged in favor of President Mnangagwa and to emphasize the need for electoral reform.

However, it is crucial to consider the diverse political perspectives on this matter. Supporters of President Mnangagwa and the ruling party, ZANU-PF, may view Professor Moyo’s ballot paper as a biased attempt to influence public opinion against the incumbent government. It is worth noting that the ruling party has repeatedly denied allegations of electoral malpractice and has emphasized its commitment to free and fair elections.

Conclusion:
Analyzing the accuracy of Professor Jonathan Moyo’s lyrical 2023 ballot paper, which places Nelson Chamisa at number 11 and President Emmerson Mnangagwa at number 1, requires a careful examination of both factual accuracy and political interpretation. While Professor Moyo played a significant role in exposing the alleged rigging of the 2018 elections, the accuracy of his ballot paper remains speculative without concrete evidence.

To foster a transparent and inclusive democratic process, it is crucial to ensure fair electoral practices and allow independent observers to verify the credibility of elections. Zimbabwe’s electoral system should be subject to scrutiny, and any claims of irregularities should be thoroughly investigated and addressed through proper channels. Only then can the electorate have confidence in the integrity of the electoral process and the results it produces.

Busha Accused of Manipulating Ballot Position to Undermine Chamisa

By A Correspondent| Presidential candidate Joseph Makamba Busha has been accused of appearing on nomination day as part of a Zanu PF scheme to deprive Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Nelson Chamisa of the first position on the ballot paper.

Busha leads the FreeZim Congress and successfully filed his nomination papers to contest in the 23 August presidential election results.

Based on the names of candidates who filed their nomination papers, Busha will once again be the first name on the ballot paper followed by Chamisa as was the case in 2018.

It looks like Busha J appears just on nomination & is just participating for @nelsonchamisa not to appear number one on the *Ballot Paper* In 2018 Busha was on number 1 on Ballot paper again. Nonetheless its a political right to stand & be voted into office provided in the human rights instruments,” said Roseline Hanzi.

This was also said by journalist Stanley Gama who questioned Busha’s sincerity accusing the top businessman of only appearing on the ballot paper to make sure Chamisa is not the first.

“This Busha guy is he genuine? His mission seems to be only appearing on the ballot paper as a Presidential candidate only to make sure that @nelsonchamisa name doesn’t come first on the list. It’s clearly a deliberate operation. Who will vote for this clown surely?,” said Gama.

Critic Says OceanGate Should Have Used Poorer Passengers, Homeless People To Test Safety Of Submersible

Analyzing the mistakes OceanGate made that led to the vessel’s disappearance, critics told reporters Thursday that the submersible should have been tested with poorer passengers first.

“The company skipped the very crucial step of sending five lower-class people to the bottom of the ocean to make sure it was safe enough for the wealthy,” said Otto Scofield, a member of the Marine Technology Society, adding that no one with a net worth above $50,000 should have been in the submersible.

“OceanGate made the mistake of not using minimum wage workers and unemployed people on government welfare programs to test the seaworthiness of the craft, which was not billionaire-ready.

Running more trials with some homeless people would have made all the difference, and the deaths of several wealthy people could have been prevented.”

Scofield continued that using children of color from impoverished families would have been ideal as more would have been able to fit inside the submersible.

Zanu PF Fingered For CCC Nomination Day Confusion

Dont Weaponise State Institutions Against Opponents, ED Told

Self-exiled former Zanu PF political commissar and Cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere, who has joined the presidential race for the August 23 harmonised elections yesterday said President Emmerson Mnangagwa must not weaponise institutions against opponents.

Kasukuwere, who was hounded out of the country during the November 2017 military coup that toppled the late former President Robert Mugabe, is in South Africa.

In his “roadmap to a better Zimbabwe” address in South Africa yesterday, Kasukuwere said he entered the presidential race knowing that it was never going to be easy because he believed in the cause.

“We trust that now we are in an election period you (Mnangagwa) can’t weaponise institutions against your opponents. I am sure this is an election that everyone wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is not contested.

“We have to take security issues into consideration, you don’t board the plane (as) passenger 34 and just rock up without doing some preparatory work. We did exactly that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way,” he said.

He continued: “Yes, we were concerned and we are still very concerned (security-wise) and will be raising these issues with relevant institutions. We have our Sadc body; we have the monitoring teams that will be coming into our country. It’s important that every contestant is protected, is secure.”

Kasukuwere said good treatment of opponents had a positive impact on the country’s tattered reputation and would restore Zimbabwe’s image in the international stage.

“So, allow our country to be back on the international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election, we had a good fight, but at the end of the day we are still brothers and sisters.”

“After counting (the votes), and somebody has emerged (the winner) and we know we will be emerging very strong, then you can start arresting others if you want to arrest others, but the game is not about arresting people, let’s go to the ground and campaign. Let’s tell the people what we can do or that we can’t do.”

Kasukuwere said he would be in the country soon for his campaign launch.

Kasukuwere said the country was at a decisive moment as it was contesting degeneration and elite capture of the State and regression to the past.

“Post-2017, November, together we all gave the new dispensation the leadership space to govern, the leadership space to unite our people, the leadership space to provide a new vision and direction for our great country.

“In his 2018 campaign, Emmerson Mnangagwa promised to deliver healthcare for all, the answer is failure, he promised to create jobs for the youth, I am not sure if any one young person has been able to get employed in the past five years, he failed.”

Kasukuwere said Mnangagwa has failed to deliver on all his electoral promises as evidenced by the collapse in infrastructure and public health service.

Mnangagwa On Video Repeating To Self: Peace, Peace

The Enigmatic Repetition of “Peace” by Emmerson Mnangagwa: Examining its True Meaning during the 2023 Elections

By Baba Jukwa | ZimEye | Emmerson Mnangagwa, the President of ZANU PF, has caught the attention of many with his recurring emphasis on the word “peace” during the 2023 elections. This repetition brings to mind his similar rhetoric prior to the 2018 polls, prompting a critical examination of whether his calls for peace hold genuine intent or conceal ulterior motives. In this article, we delve into the motivations behind Mnangagwa’s repeated insistence on “peace” and explore the potential complexities that lie beneath this seemingly simple message.

The 2018 Elections: Setting the Context:

To comprehend the significance of Mnangagwa’s repetitive use of “peace,” it is crucial to revisit the political climate surrounding the 2018 elections. During that period, Zimbabwe was undergoing a historic transition, with Mnangagwa assuming power following the resignation of long-time leader Robert Mugabe. Mnangagwa’s promises of reform, national reconciliation, and a peaceful future resonated with a nation exhausted by political instability and economic turmoil.

The Role of Mnangagwa’s Pre-Election “Peace” Rhetoric:

In the run-up to the 2018 polls, Mnangagwa’s emphasis on “peace” served multiple purposes. Firstly, it sought to distance himself from the Mugabe era, projecting an image of a leader committed to a peaceful and prosperous Zimbabwe. Secondly, it aimed to garner international support by assuring the global community of his dedication to stability and non-violence. Lastly, it aimed to pacify and reassure the Zimbabwean populace, creating an atmosphere of calm and unity amidst political uncertainties.

The Reappearance of “Peace” in 2023:

Fast forward to the 2023 elections, and Mnangagwa once again resorts to his repetitive use of “peace.” However, skepticism now arises, as some question whether the President’s proclamations of peace are mere political rhetoric or a genuine commitment to fostering harmony within the nation.

Possible Interpretations:

1. Image Restoration:
One interpretation is that Mnangagwa’s repeated emphasis on “peace” is an attempt to restore his tarnished image and rebuild trust with both domestic and international observers. By promoting an image of peace, he may seek to counter criticisms of his government’s handling of protests, human rights violations, and electoral irregularities.

2. Political Calculations:
Another perspective posits that Mnangagwa’s peace rhetoric is a calculated move to consolidate power. By projecting an image of stability and non-violence, he aims to prevent any potential uprising or opposition, ensuring his continued rule and control over the country.

3. Genuine Intent:
It is essential to consider the possibility that Mnangagwa’s repetition of “peace” stems from a genuine desire to foster harmony and stability within Zimbabwe. While critics argue that his actions do not align with his words, proponents suggest that he might be striving to achieve true peace but faces significant challenges in implementing it.

Conclusion:

Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recurring emphasis on “peace” during the 2023 elections undoubtedly raises eyebrows and invites scrutiny. While skeptics question the sincerity of his intentions, it is crucial to recognize the multiple interpretations of his repeated use of the word. Whether it serves as a tool for image restoration, political calculations, or reflects a genuine commitment to peace, the true meaning behind Mnangagwa’s rhetoric remains open to interpretation. As the 2023 elections unfold and Zimbabwe progresses, time will tell if the President’s words manifest into tangible actions and pave the way for a peaceful and prosperous future.

George Charamba Arrests Ali Naka?

– Can He Be Trusted?

By Mike Tasama | Trust is a fundamental aspect when it comes to assessing the reliability and credibility of individuals. On Friday, presidential spokesman George Charamba, faced scrutiny regarding his claims and the accuracy of his statements. One particular incident involves his celebrated discovery, announced on Friday, where he claimed to have identified a socialite named Ali Naka. However, his failure to clearly identify individuals in a picture has raised doubts about his credibility and ability to be trusted. This article aims to delve into the issue and assess whether George Charamba can indeed be trusted for anything.

Background:
George Charamba made headlines with his announcement regarding the identification of a socialite named Ali Naka. Charamba stated that he had spotted Naka in a picture featuring a man and three women. However, his inability to positively identify all the individuals in the picture has sparked skepticism and cast doubts on the accuracy of his claims.

Assessing Charamba’s credibility:
1. Lack of clarity: Charamba’s failure to clearly identify the individuals in the picture undermines his credibility. In cases where identification is crucial, it is essential to provide unambiguous evidence and present a well-substantiated argument. His inability to definitively identify the people in the photo raises questions about his attention to detail and accuracy.

2. Inconsistencies: If Charamba genuinely knows Ali Naka as he claims, it is puzzling that he couldn’t positively identify him in the picture. Inconsistencies in his statements can erode trust and raise doubts about his knowledge or even the existence of the socialite he mentioned. It is crucial for public figures to maintain consistency and transparency to gain and retain trust.

3. Track record: Evaluating an individual’s track record is essential in assessing their trustworthiness. Charamba’s previous actions and statements should be scrutinized to determine if there have been instances of misinformation, exaggeration, or a pattern of questionable claims. Consistent errors or misleading information can diminish his overall credibility.

4. Independent verification: Independent verification of Charamba’s claims is crucial to establish their validity. This can be achieved through corroborating evidence or testimonies from reliable sources. Without such verification, it becomes challenging to place confidence in his statements.

Conclusion:
Based on the information available, it is clear that doubts have been cast regarding George Charamba’s credibility, particularly in relation to his claim of identifying a socialite named Ali Naka. His failure to definitively identify individuals in a picture he presented as evidence raises significant concerns. In assessing an individual’s trustworthiness, it is important to consider their consistency, track record, and the availability of independent verification.

However, it is essential to note that this analysis is specific to the incident mentioned, and any conclusion regarding Charamba’s overall trustworthiness should be based on a broader assessment of his actions, statements, and reputation across different contexts. To form a comprehensive judgment, it is advisable to gather further information from reliable sources and critically evaluate his overall credibility.

George Charamba, known for his public presence and involvement in various spheres, made headlines with his announcement regarding the identification of a socialite named Ali Naka.

Qoki’s Sudden Collapse: What Went Wrong?

By Noxolo Ndazi | Qoki Zindlovukazi!, a name that was synonymous with women empowerment, community development and charity activities. Presently, the same name does not live to its status quo. It is marred by gross incompetence and fraudulent activities. It is important to note that Qoki was founded on the premise of a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) with a charitable status. Women came together to support charitable causes, pooled money together for mini projects from as little as buying each other kitchenware to solar systems etc. The vision expanded to property and recently property development, which would prove to be a gigantic challenge. As the horizon extended it necessitated a change in company formation. It was then registered in multiple names to suit the cause. The brand grew phenomenally and beyond the founders’ capabilities.

They lacked business acumen, etiquette and corporate responsibility. Qoki failed to tap into its wealth of expertise and unique blend of skills of its members, to optimise the execution of their projects. There is no profession that the writer can think of that is not found amongst the investors, legal, accounting, business, project management, civil engineering just to mention a few relevant ones. Sadly, the projects were personalised to the detriment of success, self sabotage in its purest form.

Furthermore, lack of structure and binding contracts for big projects like land purchase and development led to the anarchy as investors felt they were losing control of their investment. Greed and corruption can easily takeover when there’s no accountability and when the leader of the project has too much power. It is important to have a clear set of rules and regulations that are followed by everyone involved in the project, and to ensure that everyone is held accountable for their actions.

Additionally, it is important to have a system of checks and balances in place to ensure that no one person has too much power. This is by far the biggest problem at Qoki across all projects. Ms Sithule Tshuma and her right hand person Ms Karen Kumalo run the show without consulting the stakeholders. They make it seem as if people are buying something from them when in contrary people have pooled their funds together for whatever cause. In another example, the lawyer, Mr Zibusiso Ncube represented both the buyer and the seller in most projects thereby compromising buyers’ protection. If there had been some gatekeeping measures most problems, such as, inflated prices, could have been avoided. Purchases would not have proceeded without valid title deeds. To complicate things further there was conflict of interest with Mr Ncube’s appointment as a conveyancer for these projects by virtue of being a Qoki and Ms Tshuma’s personal lawyer. The ladies were left vulnerable despite paying lawyer’s fees.

Mr Ncube is quoted below: “Whilst I’m engaged to attend to the transfer of the property and paid for that, I will not be engaged in entertaining other correspondence outside the group unless I am paid by the individuals to do so. Remember a lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade.” Mr Z.C. Ncube.

Crowdfunded projects are communal and as such warranty a lot of transparency and an inclusive style of management. Funds are pooled from multiple sources and managed by a single entity, so accountability is prime. These funds should be managed responsibly and should be used for their intended purpose. It is important to ensure that transactions are properly documented and that any discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner. In a surprising development, Qoki Trucks project allegedly had no bank account, talk less of a proper accounting procedure. The trucks were fitted with tracking devices but only Ms Tshuma and her allies had access. Seemingly not all trips were recorded. Families of investors back in Zimbabwe would spot the truck, say in Harare, on unauthorised trips. The members would have been made to believe that there was no work for that specific truck at that particular time.

Moreover, all parties should be involved or made aware of any discrepancies. For instance, in Nondweni 2 there has been a court case dating back to March 2022 where Qoki is applying for an eviction order of the settlers that were allocated land by the government through the land reform programme. This has not been disclosed to the stakeholders to date.

The project should be managed in a way that is fair and equitable to all involved. This includes clear communication about the project’s goals, objectives, timeline, budget and progress. It also means that all stakeholders should have a say in the decision making process and it should be managed in a way that is respectful of everyone’s opinions and contributions without judgement. In most Qoki projects, the investors have to ask for progress updates. The leaders are not pro-active with reports or updates. The projects were not measurable owing to poor project management and execution. The bullying and harassment happening there is some form of compensatory behaviour triggered by lack of knowledge by the leaders. When members ask pertinent questions they are ridiculed or thrown out of the WhatsApp groups which are the main channel of communication. Invoices are posted on the groups but never receipts.

Most government or City Council bills are charged in local currency in Zimbabwe but at Qoki they are billed in US dollars on Non-government/City Council stationery. Procurement procedures are informal and incomparable to other competitors. A Bulawayo City Council (BCC) employee who acts as ‘Qoki’s integral due diligence guru’, a townplanning advisor to Qoki and is referred to as ‘Townplanner’, one Victor Masuku, allegedly does everything from, viewing land, physical planning to quantity surveying, road designing and construction. So much bias there as it is not known if applications pass on merit or by virtue of Mr Masuku being a BCC employee. Mr Masuku’s expertise in all these roles is yet to tested, so far, there has been some concerns regards the exorbitant road pricing and the quality of roads constructed by his company called Sindaku.
Stakeholders should have trust and confidence in the system. It raises so much doubt when integrity and transparency are not employed. At one instance Ms Tshuma is heard saying “we had to do what we had to do, ….too bad I can’t share here” (audio attached below), one is left wondering if she was insinuating she bribed her way through to get subdivision permits.

….

Such sinister irregularities are observed in most projects. Redacted pivotal documents like an agreement of sale; or with wrong deceased estate numbers; Court orders signed by the deputy sheriff in chambers without being advertised for fear of opposition; people signing on behalf of title holders without power of attorney. It is a myriad of gross criminal and unethical misconduct.
Cry our beloved country! in a normal economy, buying land or property should not be tedious and complex as this. Systems should be put in place and intertwined to curb corruption. Legal professionals should be vetted, monitored and expelled from the register for misconduct. The government should also put in place regulations to ensure that private sellers do not take advantage of people by selling stands at highly inflated prices.

One confounding factor that led to this authoritarian rule and concealing of information is the basis on which Qoki was formed. Qoki was a breakaway faction of Mthwakazi Queens. It was formed on betrayal and deception so the domino effect is constantly perceived, as the saying goes ‘history repeats itself’. The prototype of this model was Mthwakazi Queens brainchild and its members were poached from them by Qoki founders hence the delusional imaginary ‘soft coup’ the exiters are accused of. To be quite frank nobody in their right minds would touch Qoki projects with a ten foot pole. The guilty are always afraid.

Mnangagwa’s Tongue Snakes Out: We Want Peace During 2023 Elections

Harare Traffic Demo Hero Gets Community Service

Man Sentenced to Community Service and Fine for Causing Traffic Jam and Disorderly Conduct

By Farai D Hove | In a recent incident that caused a small traffic scene in Harare’s Avenues area, a man who heroically parked his vehicle at an intersection and started beating a drum has been sentenced to 140 hours of community service and a US$200 fine by Harare magistrate Mr Simon Kandiyero. The sentence was delivered after the magistrate received two psychiatric reports on Itayi Uthant Makombe, aged 51, from two different doctors, who concluded that he was capable of comprehending his actions.

Makombe had previously pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and disorderly conduct during his initial court appearance. Initially, Mr Kandiyero sentenced Makombe to six months in prison, suspending two months on the condition of good behavior. The remaining four months were suspended on the condition that Makombe performs 140 hours of community service at ZRP Chinhoyi, starting immediately.

Expressing his disapproval of Makombe’s disorderly behavior, Magistrate Kandiyero highlighted the upcoming elections and emphasized that the court cannot tolerate such actions. He suggested that given the current political climate, Makombe’s behavior might be considered political in nature.

Regarding the charge of unlawful possession of a firearm, Makombe was ordered to pay a US$200 fine or face two months in jail. The court was informed by the prosecution that on June 5, at approximately 6 am, Makombe parked his Land Rover Defender at the intersection of Josiah Tongogara Avenue and Sam Nujoma Street in Harare. He then exited the vehicle, climbed onto the back, and sat on a folding chair while covering himself with a blanket.

Eyewitnesses reported that Makombe began playing an African drum and shouting in the Shona language, proclaiming, “Ambuya Nehanda vamuka, ropa zhinji rakadeuka uye richiri kudeuka,” which translates to “Nehanda has resurrected, a lot of blood has been spilt and is still spilling.”

Responding to the disturbance, two police officers arrived at the scene and instructed Makombe to move his vehicle from the intersection. However, when Makombe refused to comply, the police were forced to use minimal force to remove him from the vehicle and subsequently arrested him.

On a separate count, police received information on June 6 that Makombe was in possession of a firearm without a valid certificate. Acting on this information, the police accompanied Makombe to his residence, where they discovered a black CZ pistol with a magazine containing 9 by 7.65 mm caliber rounds, concealed in a bag. It was revealed that the firearm certificate had expired on March 1 the previous year, and Makombe had failed to renew it within the designated timeframe.

In mitigation, Makombe’s lawyer stated that his client had committed the offense while in a state of depression and under the influence of alcohol.

While the court acknowledged Makombe’s mental state and the influence of alcohol during the incident, it upheld the gravity of his actions and the disruption caused to the public. By imposing community service and a fine, the court aims to hold Makombe accountable for his behavior while providing an opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The sentence serves as a reminder that public disorder and unlawful possession of firearms will not be tolerated, particularly in a sensitive period leading up to elections. It underscores the importance of upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and well-being of the public at large.

Mnangagwa Claims Economic Saboteurs Destroying Country

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa says legal practitioners have a duty to entrench unity and a culture of non-violence as the country approaches general elections slated for the 23rd of August this year.

He was speaking at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations and unveiling of Dube, Manikai and Hwacha (DMH) law firm’s new offices in Harare this Wednesday.

The President was Guest of Honour at the event in Harare’s Alexandra Park, which also coincided with the law firm’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The President took the opportunity to challenge the citizenry to denounce and shun any form of economic sabotage.

“Our country’s general elections to be held on the 23rd of August 2023 are fast approaching. Legal practitioners are invited to be part of the national crusade preaching and practicing peace. You also have a duty to entrench unity and a culture of non-violence, before, during and after the elections, the people of Zimbabwe no less from you. It is incumbent on all of us to denounce the economic sabotage, hybrid asymmetrical attack on our country’s independence and national interest.

“On its part, my administration will continue to put in place responsive measures to promote sustainable growth of our economy, increased investments, production and productivity towards the realisation of development that leaves no one and no place behind,” he said.

President Mnangagwa said legal practitioners must complement government efforts in the fight against corruption and ensure a corrupt-free legal fraternity.

“Under the Second Republic, justice delivery, a patriotic, independent and corrupt free legal fraternity is core to our quest of entrenching constitutionalism, good governance, democracy and the rule of law. To this end, I call upon legal practitioners to ensure that services offered are available and accessible towards lifting more of our people to a higher quality of life and out of poverty into prosperity.

“Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo, Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo. Equally I also urge you as lawyers, you join the national effort to expose and fight corruption. You must be at the forefront of demonstrating the core tenets of ethic driven leadership, mindsets and actions along with accountability and integrity,” he added.

“It is most gratifying that, leveraging and pulling the various competencies, skills and experiences, the partners are working together and demonstrating commitment to continuously building a strong and sustainable DMH brand, you have become a model institution. Further, your unity of purpose, which harness the diverse strengths of partners, for delivering quality services has seen you leaving an indelible footprint in our country’s legal landscape,” highlighted the President.

Established in 1998 with only four partners, Dube, Manikai and Hwacha law firm has grown over the years and now boasts of nine partners, two associate partners, four senior associates, one candidate attorney and several associates.

CCC Namibia Calls For Sikhala Release

21 June 2023

Citizens in Namibia have the conviction that vote rigging commenced with the arbitrary arrest and illegal conviction of Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala in June 2022. It is unbelievable that ZANU-PF has successfully exploited the captured judiciary to deny Wiwa his right to represent Zengeza West in the forthcoming harmonized elections scheduled on the 23rd of August 2023. Not only the right to represent was infringed but also the fundamental right to be represented, specifically affecting the innocent residents of Zengeza West.

Social Democrats in Namibia are convinced that vote rigging does not transpire on voting day since it is a long and tedious process. We have seen the weaponization of the law by the clueless regime since 2020 when they deliberately surrendered the People’s Party to their surrogate Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora through the March Corona Supreme Court judgment. The unconstitutional arrest of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala was a sure way to deny him the right to participate in the impending elections in August.

Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala has endured more than 365 days caged in the hell hole of Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison on concocted charges. The only crime was his valor, mettle, and nerve to confront ZANU-PF following the enforced disappearance and abduction of the late Moreblessing Ali who was gruesomely murdered by Pius Jamba Mukandi in Nyatsime for her politics. Today, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is unable to take part in the nomination process because of this long pretrial detention since the 14th of June 2022.

This is a clear indicator that ZANU-PF is not ready to promote free, fair, credible, and unfettered elections in Zimbabwe. Locking the vibrant Sikhala in prison is rigging on its own. The people of Zengeza West were rigged in advance, they were orphaned since last year to date because their leader was instrumental in demanding justice, freedom, and equality. It is quite pathetic that the deceased Moreblessing Ali is not yet buried since May last year. The continued incarceration of Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is the only reason why Moreblessing Ali is still in the mortuary.

We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala. Without Wiwa, there will be no credible elections. Job Sikhala is a political prisoner who is in jail for his vibrancy and organic approach to the national democratic struggle. Zec and ZANU-PF must respect the rule of law and constitutionalism. The closure of the democratic space in the motherland is the epitome of authoritarianism in the Harare regime.

Namibia district has watched with great fury the arbitrary arrests and illegal convictions of nominated CCC candidates across the breadth and lengths of Zimbabwe on trumped-up charges. The unconstitutional arrests and violence unleashed on the change champions depict the unwillingness of ZANU-PF to conduct peaceful elections. We demand the release of the jailed ZINASU six, who are political prisoners. Jacob Ngarivhume is also a prisoner of conscience suffering because he simply tweeted urging citizens to take part in an anti-corruption demonstration scheduled on the 31st of July 2020. The right to protest and petition is enshrined in the Supreme Law of the country!

In a nutshell, CCC Namibia would like to wish all nominated candidates good luck ahead of the 23rd of August 2023. Victory is certain with participatory democracy. Let’s vote big! Win big! And Defend big. We urge unsuccessful candidates to swallow their pride and back those who are going to represent the political behemoth(CCC) on the 23rd of August. There is no need to be greedy! There is no need to opt for the belly politics of self-aggrandizement, ours is a fight for equality, freedom, and justice.

We shall dedicate our sweet victory to Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, the ZINASU six, and all political prisoners who are languishing in filthy prisons for defending the universal basic human rights in Zimbabwe. After nomination, our task is to focus on the massive recruitment and training of polling agents.

Robert Chapman Flops As Only 11 Presidentials Get ZEC Registration

By Dorrothy Moyo | Robert Chapman, a US-based diasporan who claimed to have successfully submitted his nomination papers for the upcoming 2023 elections in Zimbabwe, has been dropped from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s (ZEC) database. This revelation was confirmed by ZEC’s deputy chairperson, Ambassador Rodney Kiwa, in an interview with Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN Prime) last night.

Chapman’s removal from the database means that only 11 candidates have managed to file their nomination papers to contest in the presidential election, which is scheduled to take place on August 23 as part of Zimbabwe’s harmonized elections.

The 11 candidates who successfully submitted their nomination papers include the incumbent President, Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU PF). Other candidates include Joseph Makamba Busha of the Free Zim Congress, Nelson Chamisa of the CCC, Trust Chikohora of the Zimbabwe Citizens’ Party for Democracy (ZCPD), and Blessing Kasiyamhuru of the Zimbabwe Partnership for Prosperity (ZIPP).

Additionally, there are independent candidate Saviour Kasukuwere, Professor Lovemore Madhuku of the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA), Wilbert Mubaiwa of the National People’s Convention (NPC), Gwinyai Henry Muzorewa of the United African National Council (UANC), Douglas Mwonzora of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), and Wilson Harry Peter of the Democratic Opposition Party (DOP).

The Nomination Courts, which were held on Wednesday, provided the opportunity for candidates to file their nomination papers. While ZANU PF managed to file applications for all its candidates, other political parties faced various challenges that prevented them from doing so. Consequently, the ruling party won 53 council seats unopposed.

The exclusion of Robert Chapman from the ZEC’s database raises questions about the validity of his claim to have successfully submitted his nomination papers. The reasons for his removal from the database have not been officially disclosed at this time.

Zimbabwe’s upcoming harmonized elections are highly anticipated, as they will determine the country’s political landscape for the coming years. With a reduced number of candidates in the presidential race, the electoral process may face scrutiny regarding its fairness and inclusivity. As the campaign period unfolds, it remains to be seen how these developments will shape the political dynamics in Zimbabwe.

Patriotic or Party-riotic Bill?

By Divine Mafa | The following is a critical analysis, line by line, of the proposed Patriots Bill of Zimbabwe:

Section 1: This section defines the purpose of the bill, which is to “protect the sovereignty and national interest of Zimbabwe.”

This is a broad and vague definition that could be interpreted in many ways. It is unclear what the bill’s authors mean by “sovereignty” and “national interest.” This could lead to the bill being used to stifle dissent and criticism of the government.

Section 2: This section lists the activities that would be criminalized under the bill, including “criticizing the government or its officials,” “promoting economic sanctions against Zimbabwe,” and “engaging in activities that are deemed to be ‘subversive’ or ‘detrimental to the interests of Zimbabwe.'”

This section is particularly concerning because it criminalizes a wide range of activities that are essential to a free and democratic society. Criticizing the government or its officials is a fundamental right that is protected by international law. Promoting economic sanctions against Zimbabwe is also a legitimate form of political expression. And engaging in activities that are deemed to be “subversive” or “detrimental to the interests of Zimbabwe” is a subjective standard that could be used to target anyone who disagrees with the government.

Section 3: This section sets out the penalties for violating the bill, which include imprisonment for up to 20 years.

The penalties for violating the bill are extremely harsh. Imprisonment for up to 20 years is a serious punishment that could be used to silence dissent and discourage people from exercising their fundamental rights.

Section 4: This section sets out the procedures for enforcing the bill, which would be overseen by the government’s National Prosecuting Authority.

The fact that the bill would be enforced by the government’s National Prosecuting Authority is a cause for concern. This agency is controlled by the government, and it is possible that it would be used to target political opponents and critics of the government.

Overall, the proposed Patriots Bill of Zimbabwe is a dangerous and repressive piece of legislation that would stifle freedom of expression and political dissent. The bill should not be signed into law.

Former Bournemouth defender Jordan Zemura is now Zimbabwe’s most valuable football player.

The Warriors jumped to the top of the list after playing in his debut English Premier League season with the Cherries.

He was a regular in the team until the later stages of the campaign when the club froze him out after entering into talks with Italian Serie A club Udinese without their knowledge.

In the latest valuation by German website Transfermarkt, the 23-year-old now has a market value of €6m, up from €4m.

Marshall Munetsi also moved up on the ladder and is now valued at €4m to become the second most valuable Zimbabwean player.

The Stade de Reims midfielder, who recently penned a new contract until 2026, was named among the five breakout stars of the just ended Ligue 1 season.

Marvelous Nakamba’s market value has slumped to €4m, losing €1m in value over the past season.

The midfielder, who moved to Aston Villa for €12m in 2019, has seen his value diminishing over the years after struggling for game at the Birmingham-based side.

He spent the second half of the just ended campaign at Luton Town in the English Championship and used the short loan stay in the Championship to rediscover his form after spending the first half of the term frozen out at Villa.

Tinotenda Kadewere, Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona have also seen their market values dropping.

Billiat was Zimbabwe’s most valuable player based in Africa for many years.

The drop comes after the Kaizer Chiefs forward spent the majority of previous campaign sidelined with injuries, while age is catching up with him.

Musona’s advanced age has also seen him losing value despite putting a better all-round performance last term.

He will join new promoted Saudi Pro League side Al Riyadh FC mext season after leaving Al Tai.-Soccer24 News

Man Blames Evil Spirits for Raping 4y Old Minor

-Bulawayo Court Delivers a Harsh Sentence to Deter Potential Offenders

In a deeply disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 19-year-old man from Bulawayo has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for engaging in anal sex with a four-year-old boy. The accused, Godfrey Moyo, pleaded guilty to the charge of aggravated indecent assault, but his explanation for his actions left the court stunned. Moyo claimed that evil spirits had influenced him to commit this abhorrent offense. The Bulawayo regional magistrate, Dambudzo Malunga, handed down a severe sentence, considering the gravity of the crime and the need to protect vulnerable children.

The Court’s Verdict:

Appearing before the court, Godfrey Moyo admitted to the charges brought against him and expressed his remorse. However, it was his assertion that he was driven by evil spirits that startled the magistrate and those present. Moyo’s guilty plea led to a 10-year prison sentence, with four years suspended for five years on the condition of good behavior. Ultimately, he will serve an effective six years in prison.

The Court’s Perspective:

Magistrate Dambudzo Malunga likened Moyo’s offense to rape, emphasizing the severe impact such acts have on victims. The age difference between the accused and the young victim further exacerbated the seriousness of the crime. The court recognized that the trauma inflicted upon the child would be long-lasting, highlighting the need for a strict and deterrent sentence. While considering Moyo’s youth and possible immaturity as mitigating factors, the magistrate emphasized the gravity of the offense and the importance of protecting vulnerable children.

The Disturbing Incident:

According to the court proceedings, the victim’s mother entrusted her four-year-old son to Godfrey Moyo’s care while she briefly left for Umguza. During this time, Moyo committed the heinous act of engaging in anal sex with the defenseless child. Upon the mother’s return, the child courageously disclosed the entire ordeal to her, prompting her to report the matter to the police. The subsequent investigation led to Moyo’s arrest, and a medical report presented in court confirmed that the child had indeed been subjected to sodomy.

Safeguarding Children and Seeking Justice:

This distressing case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding children and ensuring their protection from any form of abuse. The legal system must act decisively to bring perpetrators to justice and send a strong message of deterrence to potential offenders. It is crucial for communities to be vigilant and report any suspicious or alarming behavior concerning the welfare of children.

Conclusion:

The case of Godfrey Moyo, a 19-year-old man from Bulawayo who received a 10-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a four-year-old boy, has shocked the community and ignited a discussion on the protection of vulnerable children. The accused’s claim that he was influenced by evil spirits highlights the complexities surrounding such crimes and the need for society to address the root causes of such behavior. The court’s stern verdict aims to deter would-be offenders and protect innocent children from future harm.

Facts About The Elderly

Key facts

Around 1 in 6 people 60 years and older experienced some form of abuse in community settings during the past year.
Rates of abuse of older people are high in institutions such as nursing homes and long-term care facilities, with 2 in 3 staff reporting that they have committed abuse in the past year.
Rates of abuse of older people have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abuse of older people can lead to serious physical injuries and long-term psychological consequences.
Abuse of older people is predicted to increase as many countries are experiencing rapidly ageing populations.
The global population of people aged 60 years and older will more than double, from 900 million in 2015 to about 2 billion in 2050.
Overview

The abuse of older people, also known as elder abuse, is a single or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person. This type of violence constitutes a violation of human rights and includes physical, sexual, psychological and emotional abuse; financial and material abuse; abandonment; neglect; and serious loss of dignity and respect.

Scope of the problem
Abuse of older people is an important public health problem. A 2017 review of 52 studies in 28 countries from diverse regions estimated that over the past year 1 in 6 people (15.7%) aged 60 years and older were subjected to some form of abuse (1). Although rigorous data are limited, the review provides prevalence estimates of the proportion of older people affected by different types of abuse.

Data on the extent of the problem in institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities are scarce. However, a review of recent studies on abuse of older people in institutional settings (2) indicates that 64.2% of staff reported perpetrating some form of abuse in the past year.

Emerging evidence indicates that the prevalence of abuse of older people in both the community and in institutions have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. A US study, for instance, suggests that rates in the community may have increased by as much as 84% (3).

Abuse of older people in community settings
Abuse of older people in institutional settings
Globally, the number of cases of elder abuse is projected to increase as many countries have rapidly ageing populations. Even if the proportion of victims of abuse of older people remains constant, the global number of victims will increase rapidly due to population ageing, growing to some 320 million victims by 2050, as the global population of people aged 60 years and more increases to 2 billion by 2050.

Consequences
Abuse of older people can have serious physical and mental health, financial, and social consequences, including, for instance, physical injuries, premature mortality, depression, cognitive decline, financial devastation and placement in nursing homes. For older people, the consequences of abuse can be especially serious and recovery may take longer (4).

Risk factors
Individual level characteristics which increase the risk of becoming a victim of abuse include functional dependence/disability, poor physical health, cognitive impairment, poor mental health and low income. Individual level characteristics which increase the risk of becoming a perpetrator of abuse include mental illness, substance abuse and dependency – often financial – of the abuser on the victim. At the relationship level, the type of relationship (e.g., spouse/partner or child/parent) and marital status may be associated with an elevated risk of abuse, but these factors vary by country and region. Community- and societal-level factors linked to elder abuse may include ageism against older people and certain cultural norms (e.g., normalization of violence). Social support and living alone reduce the likelihood of elder abuse (5).

Prevention
Many strategies have been tried to prevent and respond to abuse of older people, but evidence for the effectiveness of most of these interventions is limited at present. Strategies considered most promising include caregiver interventions, which provide services to relieve the burden of caregiving; money management programmes for older adults vulnerable to financial exploitation; helplines and emergency shelters; and multi-disciplinary teams, as the responses required often cut across many systems, including criminal justice, health care, mental health care, adults protective services and long-term care (5).

In some countries, the health sector has taken a leading role in raising public concern about abuse of older people, while in others the social welfare sector has taken the lead. Globally, too little is known about elder abuse and how to prevent it, particularly in developing countries.

Titanic Crew Presumed Dead: Debris from Missing Submersible Found Near Wreck Confirmed

Debris from Missing Submersible Found near Titanic Wreck, Confirmed to Be from Missing Vessel, US Coast Guard Reports

By Farai D Hove | In a significant development, debris belonging to the missing submersible named “Titan” has been discovered near the wreckage of the ill-fated Titanic, according to a confirmation by the United States Coast Guard. The finding has raised concerns about the fate of the crew members and intensified the search efforts.

Rear Admiral John Mauger, who is leading the search operation for the Titan, announced the discovery and expressed deep concern for the crew members and their families. “The debris is consistent with a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber. Upon this determination, we immediately notified the families,” Rear Admiral Mauger stated, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

The Titan, a state-of-the-art submersible equipped for deep-sea exploration, vanished without a trace on June 10, 2023, during a routine dive near the North Atlantic. The submersible was manned by a crew of five experienced divers, led by Captain Robert Thompson, a highly regarded expert in underwater exploration.

The recovery of debris near the Titanic wreckage has provided the first tangible evidence in the ongoing search for the missing vessel. The specific details regarding the nature and condition of the debris have not been disclosed, as investigators are meticulously analyzing the recovered items for further clues about the circumstances surrounding the loss of the pressure chamber.

The discovery of the debris near the Titanic has prompted the US Coast Guard to deploy additional resources and vessels to the area, intensifying the search efforts for the Titan and its crew. Specialized equipment, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), sonar scanners, and underwater cameras, are being employed to conduct a thorough search of the surrounding area.

Family members of the missing crew have been notified of the recent developments and are being provided with support and assistance during this difficult time. The waiting and uncertainty have been incredibly challenging for them, and the confirmation of debris from the missing vessel has only heightened their anxiety and concern.

Numerous maritime experts and investigators have joined forces with the US Coast Guard in an attempt to piece together the events leading up to the disappearance of the Titan. The focus remains on determining the cause of the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber and the potential factors that contributed to the incident.

The Titan was renowned for its cutting-edge technology and robust safety protocols, making its disappearance all the more baffling. With the recovery of debris near the Titanic wreckage, experts hope to gather crucial information that could shed light on the fate of the missing submersible and its crew.

As the search and investigation continue, the global maritime community remains captivated by the unfolding events. The mystery surrounding the Titan’s disappearance and the recovery of debris near such a historic site like the Titanic has only deepened the intrigue, while emphasizing the inherent risks associated with deep-sea exploration.

The US Coast Guard, along with international partners, remains committed to unraveling the truth behind the missing submersible and providing closure to the families of the crew members. Efforts are underway to analyze the recovered debris thoroughly and utilize every available resource to locate the Titan and hopefully bring the crew back safely.

The coming days will be crucial in piecing together the puzzle of the Titan’s disappearance and providing answers to the questions that have gripped the world.- ZimEye

Mwonzora Fails To Field Candidates

By- The Douglas Mwonzora-led Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) has failed to field candidates in all constituencies in Zimbabwe due to the party’s financial troubles.

Chamisa Confronts ZEC Over Party Name Similarity

By- The Nelson Chamisa-led opposition, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party, has approached the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to seek clarification regarding a situation of name similarity.

This was after it was discovered that a person named Chitembe David from Harare East Constituency had registered to contest in the Parliamentary elections as a candidate for a political party named Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC), which bears a resemblance to the CCC party.

The party inquired if the CCCC party exists and how it was possible for someone to register with a political party that has a name identical to theirs. The CCC has also expressed curiosity about the use of similar symbols by various political parties and requested ZEC to clarify this issue to the citizens. In an open letter seen by Pindula News, the CCC led by Nelson Chamisa said:

Dear @ZECzim,

We wanted to inquire whether there exists a political party by the name of Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC). We are curious about the electoral law with regard to the use of similar symbols by various parties. We are wondering how someone was registered with a political party that is identical to our party, CCC. Could you kindly clarify this to the citizens?

Over the years, Zimbabwe’s political landscape has been marked by instances of name similarity among political parties. Examples include the MDC-T party led by Thokozani Khupe, which was accused in 2018 of using a symbol similar to that of the MDC Alliance party then led by Nelson Chamisa. Other examples include Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formations such as MDC T, MDC M, MDC

Alliance, MDC 99 as well as the ZANU Ndonga, PF ZAPU, ZANU PF, ZIM PF, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), Citizens Collaboration for Change (CCC), Citizens Convergence for Change (CCC), and Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC).

Political analysts believe that this situation can lead to voter confusion and raise concerns about the credibility of the electoral process. They argue that this is caused by the absence of eligibility tests for political parties, therefore, having a central registry where parties can register and deposit their names, symbols, colours, and logos would help prevent conflicts and enable voters to make informed choices.

Treat Mining Like Real Business

1 treat mining like business

In business you invest with the aim of making profit long term and sustainable. Inorder to do that just make a small informal business by listing what you need with exact value don’t forget to include monitoring expenses identify a claim close to you or never invest . If you are still tempted to invest far increase scope of investment so that all you will be able to all final production activities month end .
2 nothing can replace your presence
Gold is a currency that can be used without any purification or processing and around Zimbabwe you find gold nuggets of 5points upto 10kg your absence means you won’t be able to see it or account for production done using your own money. Be there from day one study everything learn all risks and rewards.

Your kids , wife and relatives are not you they can steal from you infact most gold related theft or lack of accountability is orchestrated by related especially the son or daughter in most cases l have come across.

Besides stealing they usually unknowingly disturb or sabotage production in the name of relative. All gold production ends are guarded by mine owner , sponsors or investors and workers nothing is left to chance.

3 avoid overspending on monitoring
Avoid driving up and down to the mine in the name of monitoring because it’s useless and unnecessary unless you spend atleast 6hrs of day time at the mine use public transport and avoid hiring transport for transactions that don’t need a car .

If you want to use a car increase your investment scope to accommodate the car .when ever gold pays you handsomely remember they are dark days ahead plan wisely and create proper backup.

CCC Exposes FAZ’s Hand In Double Candidacy Scheme

By A Correspondent| In a recent development, Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has brought to light a covert operation orchestrated by Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ), a group aligned with the ruling Zanu PF party to cause confusion in the movement.

The operation resulted in ZEC announcing double candidates for CCC in some constituencies.

Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said CCC representatives visited the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to scrutinize the list of candidates purportedly submitted by their party.

To their dismay, they discovered that a number of individuals had utilized forged signatures and even resorted to photocopying the CCC logo in order to file their nomination papers.

“A HUGE SCAM – MANUFACTURED CCC DOUBLE CANDIDATES..Our teams have just been to ZEC to inspect the submitted nominations. It’s clear that the so called ‘double candidates’ forged signatures and the CCC logo. Our CCC logo is embossed and not a photocopy as is the case with the ‘double candidates’. In addition, those nominations were not countersigned for by the designated officials of CCC. It’s clearly a sting operation! We will explore the remedies available at law which enjoin ZEC to resolve this matter. We are pursuing this remedy with immediacy and urgency necessary,” said Chamisa.

Zimra Denies Losing Six Years Of Tax Records

THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) on Wednesday dismissed as false, reports in some online publications that it had lost tax records dating back to six years ago.

In a statement, Zimra said the story, whose headline read: “Zimra Loses Tax Records Dating Back to six years ago” published by the NewsHub and also carried by Pindula, was misleading as the authority has not experienced a system crash or hacking of any of its servers.

“The request for information from clients is for the purposes of updating taxpayer records since clients sometimes change physical addresses, email addresses, public officers, contact details, tax accountants as well as where there is missing information.

“Zimra is working on migrating client data onto their new Tax and Revenue Management System (TaRMS), which will be more efficient and will simplify business processes through the use of automation,” read part of the statement.

The authority encouraged all taxpayers to update their master data information for effective communication.

CCC Didn’t Fail To Field Candidates, It Only Suffered Small Ward Gaps

By A Correspondent | EDITORIAL | Contrary to social media spats, the Citizen Coalition For Change party, CCC, did not fail to field candidates for the 2023 elections, it only suffered slight ward gaps,  ZimEye reveals. This is so although

– there are no gaps at all regarding MP candidates. All MP posts were fielded by Nelson Chamisa’s CCC.

– there are no gaps at all at presidential level. The leader successfully submitted his nomination papers.

– Only a few wards were missed by the CCC and they include those listed at the bottom of this article

– the unfielding of a few wards is the product of ZEC tampering, being the shifting of electoral boundaries, intimidation, and the illegal charging of fees.

– the few unfielded wards do not affect the outcome

– Double candidates are a fraud which cannot happen at any time in any database, because like in banking, a single cheque (political party in this case) can never clear or appear twice on the same number. It’s impossible.

Meanwhile, the list of wards that were missed includes:
Chirumanzu constituency wards 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23
Marondera ward 9
Chegutu East ward 17
Gwanda urban ward 1 & 2
Mhondoro ward 9 & 13
Mberengwa RDC only ward one out of 37 had no candidate
Bulilima 2 wards out of 22 had no candidate
Zibagwe 7 wards had no candidates

Nomination Day Nightmare For Mwonzora’s MDC-T

The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T), led by Douglas Mwonzora, has failed to field candidates in all constituencies amid reports that the party is broke.

In an interview with VOA Studio 7, the party’s information and publicity secretary, Witness Dube, said, “We failed to pay nomination fees for all our candidates across the country by close of the Nomination Court. Please get details from the president.”

Dube could not shed more information on this issue saying only Mwonzora is capable of answering questions being raised by the press.

In a statement to all MDC-T provinces on Wednesday evening, the party’s secretary general, Tapiwa Mashakada, said, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, all candidates are now advised to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Further communication will be issued regarding the legal status of their nomination papers in view of non-payment. Any inconvenience suffered is most sincerely regretted.”

Mwonzora indicated a few weeks ago that they were ready for the council, parliamentary and presidential election. The Nomination Court sat Wednesday. He was not responding to calls on his mobile phone.

Zimbabwe will hold harmonized elections on August 23 this year. The two bitter rivals – President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Nelson Chamisa – successfully filed their nomination papers at the High Court on Wednesday.

ZEC NOTORIOUS TAMPERING: Chamisa Confirms CCC Failure To Field Candidates In Some Local Authority Seats Though Overally Still Winning

By A Correspondent| Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has confirmed that his party failed to field candidates in some local authority elections.

Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said they had glitches in a few wards resulting in their failure to field contestants.

Chamisa also confirmed that his party failed to field candidates in all proportional representation for local authorities.

He however confirmed that his party fielded contestants in all the 210 parliamentary seats, 60 senatorial seats, Women and Youth Quota respectively.

CCC has blamed a shadowy Zanu PF aligned Forever Associate of Zimbabwe (FAZ) for forging signatures resulting in double candidates in some constituencies.

Chamisa Downplays Reports Of Fall Down With Biti

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) President Nelson Chamisa has played down concerns over Biti’s looming absence from the next parliament.

Biti failed to make the cut for the next parliament candidates.

Addressing journalists soon after visiting the High Court building to confirm his own nomination – filed a day before – Chamisa allayed fears of a festering fall-out with his deputy Tendai Biti in the wake of the latter’s failed bid to defend his Harare East seat during party processes to find candidates for the August 23 election.

Chamisa was accompanied by Biti in an apparent show of unity with his top aide.

President Mnangagwa’s fiercest challenger, who was in a buoyant mood, affirmed his bid to challenge for the country’s top job as he played down concerns over Biti’s looming absence from the next parliament.

Chamisa said his envisaged government had bigger plans for the founding MDC legislator and former finance minister.

The 45-year-old presidential challenger said his party’s eyes were more focused on clinching the national presidency, which has been an elusive target for the country’s most formidable party, formed as MDC in 1999.

“Our focus is not to be in parliament but to be in government,” he said.

“We have been in parliament for a long time; that is not our station of choice at the moment.

“Our station of choice is in government. So, you will see Mr Biti in government.

“He is going to play a pivotal role in the campaign that we are going to be waging very soon because he is part of that government and that is what we are offering to Zimbabweans.”

Chamisa added, “Parliament is going to be there; we already have people deployed there but there are others that are beyond parliament.

“They are in government, and they must play that role in government. So, you will see a strong team, you will see a formidable team, you will see the future of Zimbabwe and it is here.”

Zanu PF Goromonzi Candidate In Land Storm

ZANU PF’s aspiring parliamentary candidate for Goromonzoi South constituency Tinashe Chikonye has been accused of parcelling out State land to home-seekers in Caledonia, claiming the land was his.

Chikonye is among several party officials filing for candidature at the nomination court today.

NewsDay has gathered that several duped residents had reported the matter at Mabvuku Police Station under case numbers CR83/06/23 and CR84/06/23, but Chikonye has not yet been arrested.

“Tinashe Chikonye is a land baron who has reportedly swindled thousands of home seekers on the pretext of owning land which turns out to be State land,” said one resident who refused to be named for fear of victimisation

“We have for years approached Mabvuku police but after filing dockets have been disappearing. The allegations are that between October 2017 and early this month, Chikonye fraudulently awarded himself a total of 89 residential stands belonging to the State under UDCORP . The accused with intent to defraud the State and potential home seekers during the material time,” said another resident.

The stands in questions had reportedly been reserved for members of the security sector and civil servants evicted from Caledonia Phase 6, which has been reserved for a school.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi yesterday said he was not aware of the allegations.

Chikonye was not immediately available for comment.

Qoki Trucks Face Bankruptcy Amidst Serious Fraud

We had no voice basically..’: Zimbabwean Director Sithule Tshuma’s Qoki Zindlovukazi SA Trucks Ltd Faces Bankruptcy Amidst serious Allegations of Fraud.

By Nancy Nhuku |

Qoki Truck business

In a grim turn of events, Qoki Zindlovukazi Trucks, a project directed by a Zimbabwean self claimed Women Empowerment Founder,  Sithule Tshuma, is on the brink of bankruptcy. The project, which operates in South Africa, plies routes within South Africa and to Zimbabwe and D.R. Congo, has been marred by a series of controversies and alleged mismanagement. The demise of the Qoki trucking project is another dimension of a seemingly dismal drive for Qoki Zindlovukazi filled with sad life stories from various women investors. The investors had high hopes in Qoki as a Matebeleland and Midlands livelihoods alleviation initiative as advertised by its co-founder Ms Tshuma.

Qoki Truck income and trips

My plus R59 000.00 gone just like that,.. I hope in future, as a learning curve, better strategies will be implemented before recruiting people to investments…..’ Anonymous investor

One of the primary concerns raised by these Trucks crowd funders (meant to be shareholders), is the lack of due diligence and immature business practices exhibited by the Qoki Directors, Karen Kumalo, Nompilo Moyo and Bridget Dube. Interesting to note is that,  over 3 years on, share certificates/ ownership documentation was never issued to these investors. Some critical investors argue that proper research and analysis were not conducted before venturing into South African new markets and expanding operations, leading to financial strain, stress and unsustainable growth. It is also unbelievable that a company of this stature had no bank account as exclaimed by one of the investors;

Just wondering how our company (Qoki Trucks) didn’t have a bank account or why the insurance was paid from “other ladies” bank accounts (project)?’ Anon.

Another prominent issue highlighted by the investors, is the alleged dictatorship within the company. Accusations suggest that decision-making power was excessively vested on Sithule Tshuma, resulting in lack of transparency and accountability. Shareholders claim that their voices were disregarded, and their concerns were not adequately addressed, contributing to the current dire situation.

‘We had no voice basically, and I feel most women were scared of being booted out if they spoke.  To date no one has said a word on our Qoki WhatsApp platform since Qoki hit the news regarding fraudulent activities….’ Anon

Furthermore,  Ms Tshuma and her inexperienced management team have faced severe criticism. Many shareholders contend that key positions were filled by individuals lacking the necessary expertise and industry knowledge, compounded with deception. This alleged lack of competence and understanding of market dynamics has reportedly hindered the company’s growth and profitability.

Some of us asked for trucks to be sold over 2 years ago before amatrucks afe (breakdown). But sasingamamelwa (we weren’t being listened to) , now that there are izikwelede (debts) we have to be affected too?’anon

Accounting irregularities, have also been projected, adding to the mounting troubles for Qoki. Concerns have been raised regarding financial mismanagement, questionable financial reporting, and a lack of adherence to basic accounting standards. These allegations have further eroded investor confidence across all other Qoki projects, thereby raising doubts about the company’s overall financial health and integrity. This warranties a financial audit by an independent body or an ombudsman as it is gross.

Additionally, Qoki Trucks investors, have expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of shared dividends.

‘We injected over R1,5 million as capital, to date Sithule continues to show no interest,  busy with 100 other projects which will also fail like ours’ said one investor.

Despite the company’s financial struggles, investors claim that they have not received any returns on their investments, exacerbating their financial losses. This situation has left many shareholders disillusioned and seeking legal remedies to protect their interests. Ironically, the management allegedly seems to be acquiring assets for themselves and their families and now drive luxury cars and living in mansions. The bankruptcy becomes more apparent amidst Qoki’s turmoil of events following fraudulent allegations, as shown on table below;

Qoki’s irregularities also come at a difficult moment following a major Bulawayo High court trial loss on Ms Tshuma vs Dumi matter. The impact on investors is severe. Qoki Trucks investors comprises mostly of vulnerable women working menial jobs in South Africa.

‘I think it’s important that when things are done where everyone contributed everyone’s opinion is taken into consideration…..’.

Given the myriad of challenges faced by  Qoki Zindlovukazi Trucks, Market, Bank, Hotel & Golf course, Farm, Filling Stations, Properties and Guest House, experts are recommending a complete re-evaluation of the company’s management structure, along with the implementation of stringent financial and operational controls. Upskilling the existing workforce and hiring experienced professionals has also been suggested to rectify the current deficiencies.

Charity Dube, disappointed and appalled at Qoki’s fraudulent allegations, commented

‘I bought 2 shares on that scam, automatically making me a majority of the so called shareholder, but never a day where our opinions were taken into consideration’

As the situation unfolds, shareholders are eagerly awaiting a response from Ms Tshuma’s  team and potential strategies to address the company’s management crisis. From 2021, some ‘investors’ have been requesting the Trucks business to be sold or get refunded their share equivalent,  to date Qoki has not responded to any of these requests. The outcome of this critical period will determine the future of Qoki Zindlovukazi as a whole, their Lawyer Zibusiso Charles Ncube and Qoki’s ability to recover from its current state of turmoil.

Kasukuwere’s Jetted Into Zimbabwe And Army’s Protected Him Chiwenga Style: Cde Adamski

Opinionator Jahman Adamski writes saying:

The way Chiwenga was picked up at the airport by the army when he was supposed to be arrested on 12 Nov 2017 is EXACTLY what happened when Saviour Kasukuwere arrived.

●He is in Zimbabwe,
●He will be contesting
●He is not getting arrested

Nothing is going to change the above.

These Mnangagwa hooligans you find on these streets will try allsorts to cast a shadow of doubt.

Iwe neni tinebasa

Asante sana.

By Prof Zhang Tar | ZimEye | As Zimbabwe gears up for the highly anticipated 2023 election, the emergence of Saviour Kasukuwere on the political scene has sparked speculations about his impact on the electoral landscape. Some suggest that he may play a role similar to that of Simba Makoni in the 2008 election, effectively dividing votes between the incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the opposition leader Nelson Chamisa. This article delves into the dynamics surrounding Kasukuwere’s entry into Zimbabwean politics and examines the potential implications of his candidacy.

The Zezuru Factor and Leadership Mandate

Saviour Kasukuwere, a close associate of the late Robert Mugabe, represents a faction of Zezurus who believe they were unjustly deprived of the leadership mandate following the 2017 coup that brought Mnangagwa to power. The Zezurus, the nation’s largest tribe, perceive Mnangagwa’s administration as favouring the Karanga tribe, thereby marginalizing their interests. With their desire to reclaim what they see as their rightful place, the Zezurus, including the Manicas, have rallied together against what they perceive as an attack on their group.

Tribal Dynamics in Zimbabwean Politics

Tribal affiliations have historically played a significant role in Zimbabwean politics, and the upcoming election is expected to be no exception. The Karangas, like the Ndebeles, are not numerically dominant, whereas the Zezurus hold a considerable numerical advantage. Given that both Mnangagwa and Chamisa hail from the Karanga tribe, the tribal factor becomes even more pronounced. Consequently, the support of the Zezurus could be a game-changer for any political candidate. The Ndaus, associated with Ndabaningi Sithole, are the only tribe to have set themselves apart since the Ndebele era.

Kasukuwere’s Involvement and ZANU PF’s Motivation

Contrary to the notion that Kasukuwere is positioning himself as another Simba Makoni, it is worth noting that he was sought after by ZANU PF to lead the party. A letter was written to ZANU PF members to this effect, indicating that Kasukuwere’s candidacy is not solely his own decision. This demonstrates a significant shift within ZANU PF, with the party recognizing the importance of securing the support of the Zezurus, a tribe that has historically played a significant role in the party’s support base.

Mnangagwa’s Popularity and Political Legacy

Emmerson Mnangagwa has faced widespread criticism and is widely disliked among the people of Zimbabwe. Unlike his predecessor, Robert Mugabe, Mnangagwa lacks the charismatic appeal and popularity that could have softened the impact of his policies. His failure to establish a contemporary political accord akin to previous attempts in Zimbabwe’s history has further exacerbated internal divisions within ZANU PF. Mnangagwa’s approach has left the nation grappling with political, economic, and social challenges.

The Role of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission

An important aspect to consider is whether the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) will allow Kasukuwere’s nomination papers. The decision by the ZEC will play a crucial role in shaping the upcoming election. If Kasukuwere is allowed to run, it could further intensify the political landscape, potentially leading to a more fragmented vote distribution.

As Zimbabwe approaches the 2023 election, the entry of Saviour Kasukuwere has introduced new dynamics into the political arena. The grievances of the Zezurus, who feel marginalized under Mnangagwa’s administration, coupled with tribal considerations, make this election a crucial one.

Leaker Of Uebert Angel’s Secrets Exposes Makandiwa’s “Gifted” Explainer Due Today

As preacher, Emmanuel Makandiwa prepares a video explainer over his controversial statements comparing himself with God, an article written by a leaker of the disgraced Uebert Angel’s secrets Brilliant Pongo provides an analysis over his claims that recently sparked controversy and debate.

Emmanuel Makandiwa’s video explainer set for Thursday

Pongo dissects the claim made by Makandiwa and explores the meaning of being “gifted,” as well as the implications of comparing human giftedness to divine attributes.

Pongo begins by highlighting Makandiwa’s use of language and suggests that he may have been influenced by his association with Uebert Angel, a prominent figure in the Christian community. Pongo implies that Makandiwa’s attempt to stir controversy through his use of the word “gifted” only managed to deceive his followers while drawing criticism from the rest of the world.

The article then delves into the concept of being gifted and explains that it refers to possessing exceptional talents, abilities, or qualities that set individuals apart in specific fields or areas of expertise. It emphasizes that giftedness encompasses various aspects such as intellectual, artistic, athletic, and empathetic skills. Gifted individuals are described as having remarkable aptitude, often surpassing the norm in terms of proficiency or creativity.

The understanding of the divine is discussed next, acknowledging that concepts of God differ across belief systems and religious traditions. In monotheistic faiths, God is typically regarded as the supreme being with attributes such as omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. God is seen as the creator and sustainer of the universe, possessing unparalleled wisdom, power, and knowledge.

Pongo argues that comparing human beings to God is futile due to the inherent differences in nature and scope. While humans have remarkable potential, they are finite beings with limitations, while God is portrayed as infinite and transcendent in religious traditions.

However, the article emphasizes that humans possess their own unique potential and are capable of achieving extraordinary feats throughout history. The capacity for learning, creativity, and adaptability has allowed humans to push the boundaries of what was once thought possible. Pongo highlights the power of human agency and the freedom to make choices, which distinguishes human giftedness from the all-knowing nature of a deity.

The article emphasizes the importance of nurturing and fostering human gifts for individual and societal progress. Education, mentorship, and access to resources are mentioned as crucial elements in honing and amplifying human potential. By investing in programs that support the development of diverse talents, individuals can make meaningful contributions to society.

Pongo acknowledges that while humans may never attain the divine perfection ascribed to God, their gifts allow them to transcend their limitations. By leveraging their talents, humans can create beauty, solve complex problems, and inspire others. The article emphasizes the qualities of empathy, love, and the ability to form connections, which add depth and richness to the human experience.

In conclusion, Pongo argues that human giftedness should not be seen as a competition with a higher power, but rather as a means to fulfill purpose, contribute to society, and seek personal fulfillment. The article emphasizes the importance of using gifts wisely and ethically, with an understanding of their impact on oneself and the world. Ultimately, the harmony between human giftedness and the divine enriches the collective journey and enables individuals to strive for greatness.

Overall, the article provides a thoughtful exploration of the concept of being gifted, the attributes of the divine, and the unique potential and limitations of humans. It encourages the appreciation and responsible use of human gifts while recognizing the awe-inspiring nature of human potential.

In a stunning video that recently sent shockwaves through social media, Emmanuel Makandiwa, a controversial figure in the Christian community, made an audacious claim that left many Christians questioning his intentions. Deliberately edited to ignite controversy, Makandiwa’s words set the stage for a captivating debate that transcends his linguistic prowess and challenges our understanding of the word “gifted.” Let us delve into the intricacies of this claim, unravel the true meaning of being gifted, and explore the implications of Makandiwa’s provocative statement.

One could be forgiven to think that Makandiwa was just trying to flex his English muscles, after all he did not do that well in his grade seven, or ZJC English exams never mind at O’ level.

So taking from the vocabulary he got taught by his erstwhile friend the Ambassador at Large Uebert Angel, Makandiwa thought it would help him stir controversy by playing with the word ‘gifted’ he tried justifying the context in which he was using it but the boy from Muzarabani only managed to hoodwink his gullible followers, the rest of the world called him out. Nonetheless this got me thinking and hence the short essay below which I hope would help him and his followers to grasp the meaning of the word ‘gifted’.

In the domain of human existence, questions pertaining to our potential and capabilities have always intrigued us. One such intriguing query that has stirred debates throughout history is whether a man can be more gifted than God. To delve into this topic, it is important to first understand the meaning of being gifted and the attributes ascribed to the divine. Through an exploration of these concepts, we can shed light on the inherent nature of human potential and the unique abilities we possess.

Defining Giftedness:

Being gifted refers to possessing exceptional talents, abilities, or qualities that distinguish an individual from others in a particular field or area of expertise. It encompasses a wide range of human capabilities, such as intellectual, artistic, athletic, and empathetic skills. Gifted individuals exhibit remarkable aptitude, often displaying levels of proficiency or creativity that surpass the norm.

Understanding the Divine:

God, as a concept, varies across different belief systems and religious traditions. In monotheistic faiths, God is typically regarded as the supreme being, possessing attributes such as omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. God is seen as the creator and sustainer of the universe, possessing unparalleled wisdom, power, and knowledge.

The Limitations of Comparison:

Comparing human beings to God can be seen as an exercise in futility, given the inherent differences in nature and scope. Humans, despite their remarkable potential, are finite beings with limitations. Conversely, God, as portrayed in various religious traditions, embodies infinite and transcendent qualities.

Human Potential:

While humans may not possess the absolute perfection attributed to God, we are gifted with remarkable potential. Our capacity for learning, creativity, and adaptability has enabled us to achieve extraordinary feats throughout history. From scientific advancements to artistic masterpieces, humans have consistently demonstrated the ability to transcend limitations and push the boundaries of what was once thought possible.

The Power of Choice:

One distinguishing aspect of human giftedness lies in our freedom to make choices. Unlike an all-knowing deity, humans possess agency and the ability to shape their destinies through conscious decision-making. This freedom grants us the opportunity to explore our potential, develop our talents, and make a lasting impact on the world.

Unlocking Human Gifts:

Humanity’s diverse talents and abilities offer a tapestry of brilliance that enriches our collective existence. Nurturing and fostering these gifts is crucial for individual and societal progress. Education, mentorship, and access to resources play a pivotal role in honing and amplifying human potential. By investing in programs that support the development of diverse talents, we empower individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.

The Transcendence of Humanity:

While humans may never attain the divine perfection ascribed to God, our gifts allow us to transcend our limitations. By leveraging our talents, we can create beauty, solve complex problems, and inspire others. Our ability to empathize, love, and create connections adds depth and richness to the human experience, fostering a sense of purpose and meaning in our lives.

While the question of whether a man can be more gifted than God may be a thought-provoking philosophical inquiry, it is important to recognize the unique attributes and roles of both entities. Human potential, though not infinite, is a remarkable force that continually propels us forward. By embracing and nurturing our diverse gifts, we have the power to shape our own destinies and contribute to a world that reflects the best of our humanity. Ultimately, it is through our collective endeavors that we can make a lasting impact and transcend our mortal boundaries.

In exploring the concept of human giftedness and its relationship to the divine, it is crucial to emphasize the interconnectedness of these realms. While humans possess extraordinary talents, it is important to acknowledge the source from which these abilities emanate. Whether one attributes it to divine creation, natural evolution, or a combination of factors, the intrinsic potential within human beings is undeniably awe-inspiring.

Human giftedness encompasses a wide spectrum of abilities. Intellectual brilliance manifests in the form of scientific breakthroughs, groundbreaking theories, and revolutionary inventions that shape the course of human history. Artists, musicians, and writers captivate our hearts and minds through their creative expressions, provoking emotions and challenging societal norms. Athletes display exceptional physical prowess, setting new records and pushing the boundaries of human performance. Empathy, compassion, and the ability to connect with others on a deep emotional level represent gifts that foster understanding, unity, and social progress.

However, it is important to recognize that human giftedness is not absolute and is subject to various factors such as genetics, environment, education, and opportunity. Each person possesses a unique blend of talents and strengths, and it is the collective tapestry of human giftedness that adds vibrancy and diversity to our world.

While human giftedness may not rival the divine attributes often associated with God, it is essential to understand that human beings are not in a competition with a higher power. Rather, our giftedness enables us to fulfill our purpose, contribute to society, and seek personal fulfillment. Our talents provide us with the means to make a positive impact, enhance the well-being of others, and leave a lasting legacy.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the appreciation of human giftedness should not lead to arrogance or hubris. Instead, it should inspire gratitude, humility, and a sense of responsibility. Recognizing our gifts should encourage us to use them wisely and ethically, with a deep understanding of the impact they can have on ourselves and the world around us.

In conclusion, the question of whether a man can be more gifted than God is complex and multifaceted. Human giftedness encompasses a vast array of talents, abilities, and potential, which contribute to the richness of our existence. While our gifts may pale in comparison to the divine attributes attributed to God, it is the unique combination of our abilities, choices, and contributions that define our humanity. Embracing and nurturing our gifts, while respecting the divine, allows us to reach our fullest potential and make a meaningful difference in the world. Ultimately, it is the harmony between the human and the divine that enriches our collective journey and enables us to strive for greatness.

ED Has Opened Democratic Spaces That’s Why Religious Leaders Love Him- Mavaza

By Dr Masimba Mavaza- While President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the ZANU PF 2023 Presidential candidate, joins masses of believers in their different congregations to worship the living God, CCC leader Nelson Chamisa decides to make the sermon himself.

Watching Chamisa at Mbare Stoddart Netball courts it shows the demise of opposition. Like a charismatic preacher he controls the narrative. Behind him are the brains of the opposition’s Charlton Hwende and Tendai Biti and many heavy weights refused by the people they purport to represent yet being the brains behind the party, all have been rendered useless because of the dictatorship of one man.
When we warned Biti and his followers that the dictatorship of CHAMISA knows no bounds, he is a pastor, not a power star—those two rhyme but is not the same. Tsvangirai wreathes in his grave. Those who formed the party can not speak those who dared to speak have been haunted out of the grave train. The political cemeteries display tall and sticking-out tombstones inscribed clearly in trickery. Rest in peace, Biti Rest in Peace, Douglas Mwonzora, farewell Morgen Komichi. These tombstones are placed close to the real graves of Tsvangirai and Gibson Sibanda and many of those who died after being dribbled by Nelson CHAMISA.
It is very curious that those who joined CHAMISA from their own parties are either in prison or have had the rug pulled under their feet. Ngarivhume is serving a sentence and surprisingly, CCC under CHAMISA never stood by him so is Job Sikhala. Those not in prison and not chased away from CCC to pave the way for pure dictatorship are scared to speak out because the cult of Chamisa rules. They dare not speak because they will not be heard of ever again. Lilian Timveos and Blessing Chebundo saw the light early and joined the revolutionary party ZANU PF. They saved themselves from a murky candidate selection process which was targeting those who threatened Chamisa’s position. How do you get to this position when an opposition is beholden to one man. Like a sect, they go to the slaughter quietly, hoping a protest vote will help them.
If CHAMISA can display such audacity before he sets foot in the state house, what will happen should he get there? God forbid.
Zimbabwe’s opposition is cursed we are not blessed with a democratic opposition. We have a party with no structures no plan for the nation but a plan for the leader alone and his spokespersons.
Talk of standing by friends Chamisa will not care for any one except himself.
We look no further than his discretely fired spokesperson. Nkululeko Sibanda. He was dragged from his high paying position in UK and brought in to be the spokesperson. CHAMISA was forming an old Student Union team. Then when Sibanda invested his experience and Knowlledge in the party he was offloaded at the first hearing of a female voice in the name of Fadzai Nyembesi MAHERE. She brought all the meanings of her names. Joy to the leader and tears to Nkululeko. Elections are fast approaching Nkululeko Sibanda is now in the dustbin of CCC which is filling very fast.
To understand CHAMISA and his constitutionless party, we look at the replacement of Nkululeko Sibanda.
Fadzai MAHERE the personal spoke person of the CCC shocked the world when she took time to demonise Zimbabwe in Geneva.
One Former British Prime minister Winston Churchill once said
“When I am abroad, I always make it a rule never to criticize or attack the government of my own country. I make up for lost time when I come home.”
Zimbabweans have seen a crop of people who stand and pledge to soil their country. We have seen people who are so dedicated to make Zimbabwe look evil in the eyes of the world. Mahere was seeking relevance and building a profile for herself and CHAMISA on the blood of her fellow country man. Her fame is written with the blood of Zimbabweans. The CCC makes many feel a little perplexed. it is sometimes saddening to see that some self-proclaimed critics go beyond the limit and start spitting out random things.
Blaming Mnangagwa’s govt. for each and every bad thing happening around us has almost become a trend these days. President ED has been working relentlessly 24*7 with out getting even a little bit tired since the past four years. The fact that we criticize when things don’t work out, or rather when things don’t work out the way WE WANT. Instead of actually doing something of figuring ways out.

  • In her address, Mahere claimed that in 2021 “I woke up in a security prison in Zimbabwe with no toilet, no water and no underwear. To claim that she had neither a toilet nor access to water is hyperbole meant to demonise the Zimbabwean Government when she knows that Zimbabwean prisoners have access to toilets and water. It would be naïve for a person of Mahere’s   stature to expect her prison cell to be as luxurious as her en suite bedroom. As for the claims of going around her cell without underwear, it is common practice the world over that items of clothing that can be used by prisoners to commit suicide, strangle other prisoners or create ladders to escape are removed from their cells for their own safety. If she was wearing panties like G-strings that can easily lend themselves to other uses, no responsible prison officer would let her keep them on her person. But was she even wearing one we don’t know.
All this tells us that CCC is not intending to be democratic if God forbids it gets in the office.
They have abandoned their slogan that “God is in it” and now resort to purging each other. God May never be in that treachery.
On the other hand ZANU PF does not only talk they join the worshippers and worship with them. This is the reason why the churches adore ED MNANGAGWA.
If we are serious about our country let us vote for serious people. Leadership is a serious business. It requires honesty and faithfulness. To that end, MNANGAGWA attends the church and worships with others, as did David, the King of the Jews and all kings. CHAMISA will not go where God is. He wants God to join him at a yellow rally.
Zimbabwe is a blessed country, and God has blessed it. We must not betray our God by voting for those who will not tell the truth but only claim that God is in it.
Zimbabwe needs POWER STARS, NOT PASTORS, in the state house.

Rare Treat For Children Of Incarcerated Parents On International Day Of African Child

By A Correspondent| Last week, Jedidiah Trust, a local non-governmental organization partnered with the Canadian Embassy in Zimbabwe to host children and caregivers of children of incarcerated parents to commemorate the Day of the African Child.

Speaking at the event, Getrude Mandizvidza, the Chairperson of Jedidiah Trust, emphasized the importance of creating moments of happiness for children of incarcerated parents saying they are often neglected and excluded within their communities.

“All what we’re doing is to make sure that these kids at least have a test of happiness, because most of the time and especially in our community they are side-lined because their parents are in prison.

“So most of the benefits that other children do have, they are always some of them to an the extent of being scolded because of whatever their parents did. So for now, with the help of Canadian Embassy, we decided to bring these children so that they can have fun, enjoy the games, even their guardians, so that they can all forget about the stress and look up and also taste happiness,” said Mandizvidza.

Jessica Dawson, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada in Harare, Zimbabwe said they partnered with Jedidiah Trust in order to celebrate these children and offering them a sense of love and belonging.

“We chose today, the day of the African child because we thought it was an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate these children, give them an opportunity to come together, get to know each other, feel free, feel comfortable.

“And let them know that the Canadian Embassy that the Government of Canada appreciates them and values them. The Government of Canada places a lot of emphasis on promoting and protecting the human rights of everyone, including children and the beneficiaries of Jedidiah Trust. The children of incarcerated parents are a very overlooked group,” said Dawson.

Lovemore Chikwanda, the founder of Jedidiah Trust, emphasized the organization’s commitment to mending shattered dreams saying the visit to the Canadian Embassy was an essential part of their efforts to amplify the voices of children with incarcerated parents.

“As an organization, we are so happy as we have managed to impact the lives of these children because our motive is all about empowering lives and building broken dreams. And that’s why we are here today at the Canadian Embassy, we say thank you for giving us this opportunity to amplify the voices of children with parents who are in prison,” said Chikwanda.

Mnangagwa, Chamisa Sucessfully File Nomination Papers

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zanu-PF) and opposition Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa on Tuesday successfully filed nomination papers ahead of today’s sitting of the nomination courts across the country.

Several other presidential candidates are expected to file their nomination papers on Wednesday.

These include exiled former Cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere, who will stand as an independent candidate, National Constitutional Assembly leader Lovemore Madhuku and MDC Alliance leader Douglas Mwonzora, among others.

Kasukuwere and Democratic Union of Zimbabwe leader Robert Chapman are some of the surprise presidential candidates expected to enter the presidential race in the August 23 elections.

Nomination fees are pegged at U$20 000 for the presidential candidates, while prospective MPs will fork out US$1 000 to participate in the polls, with aspiring councillors and senators paying US$100.

Prospective senators and MPs will file their papers in provincial capitals.

Councillors will converge at district centres to submit their papers.

Political analysts yesterday expressed mixed feelings over Kasukuwere’s chances of successfully filing his candidature today.

“I have my grave doubts,” Eldred Masunugure said.

“It’s possible, but improbable unless a pact has been crafted between him and those at the apex of power.”

But Southern African Political Economy Series Trust director Ibbo Mandaza said he had high hopes that Kasukuwere would successfully file as a presidential candidate despite a pending warrant of arrest.

“Apparently, the warrant of arrest was mala fides and should have been put aside already,” Mandaza said.

“By the way, a candidate doesn’t have to be physically present at the nomination court. It’s the task of an election agent.”

Chief Charumbira Report To Police For Cyber-Bullying

PRESIDENT of the Chief’s Council, Fortune Charumbira, has been reported to the police for cyber-bullying after he allegedly fabricated a WhatsApp chat history to downplay his sexual assault case.

Charumbira, who is also the Pan-African Parliament president, is being accused of sexually assaulting his niece, who cannot be named for ethical reasons.

Police are, however, yet to arrest him although the case was reported in April this year.

A document, titled Plan to dethrone PAP president, which has been circulating on social media contains a WhatsApp chat history purporting to involve Charumbira’s family members.

According to the document, people involved in the chats are the victim and her father, who also cannot be named for ethical reasons, and two others who are allegedly plotting to dethrone Charumbira.

The chat history alleges that the victim’s father and the other three family members were worried that their plot to dethrone Charumbira using the sexual assault case was collapsing.

In the conversation, they then discussed a fresh plot to dethrone him, which was to write a petition for his removal from the chieftaincy.

But the victim’s father dismissed the messages and filed a case against Charumbira and five other family members whom he accused of fabricating the chats to trivialise the assault case which has been reported to the police.

The case was reported under RRB 5457709 at Masvingo Central Police Station last Thursday.

Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dewa referred NewsDay to national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

“On that one, get the comment from our national office,” Dhewa said.

Nyathi was, however, not picking calls.

In his self-recorded statement filed with the police, the victim’s father said Charumbira connived with other family members to fabricate the chat history after he had panicked over a petition they had filed against him with government.

“I do not know the accused person, but I strongly suspect Chief Fortune Charumbira in conjunction with Akim Manyudza, Terminate Charumbira, Alimot Charumbira, Bylaw Charumbira and Muzvondiwa Charumbira. They all originate from the Charumbira clan,” the victim’s father said.

“The accused person contravened section 164B of the Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:22], cyber-bullying and harassment.”

The victim’s father said his family filed a petition addressed to Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Ezra Chadzamira, chairperson of the Provincial Chief Assembly, Chief Chitanga, Local Government minister July Moyo and Chief Secretary in the Offcice of the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda.

He accused Charumbira of using the names of the signatories of the petition to fabricate a WhatsApp chat.

The statement further read: “I assume the suspected person, after being served with the copy of the petition, noted the signatories on the petition which he used to manipulate the fraudulent WhatsApp chat.

“The suspect, towards countering all these allegations, formulated and hatched a plan to manipulate a false (sic) WhatsApp chat and posted it on social media, claiming that the aforementioned allegations of indecent assault and threats of violence were staged towards dethroning him.”

Contacted for comment, Charumbira said: “What WhatsApp chat history? Are you sure I have a link to that WhatsApp? Send me the chats to ascertain the truth.”

Charumbira recently refuted the allegations being levelled against him and threatened to sue the victim for defamation.

The victim later filed another report of threat of violence against her by Charumbira.

Last week, she filed a complaint against the police for failing to take action against her case.

Buyanga Launches Fresh Bid To Avert Extradition To Zimbabwe

ZIMBABWEAN businessman Frank Buyanga incarcerated in South Africa has launched a fresh bid in the High Court to avert extradition to his home country.

Buyanga has been in a Johannesburg prison since November and launched his new application Monday, seeking to block his possible extradition to Zimbabwe.

He has been at loggerheads with his former girlfriend, Chantelle Muteswa, contesting custody of their minor son for years.

A warrant of arrest was issued against him after he took his son to South Africa following a landmark ruling that gave parents with children outside of wedlock equal access to their children.

In his application, Buyanga said he fears he will be unfairly treated in Zimbabwe, insinuating judiciary interference.

He alleges Muteswa has close ties with the Zimbabwe First family.

The application reads: “I mention in passing that Ms Muteswa has abused her close connections to the First Family in Zimbabwe to use ZRP to lay the charges of kidnapping and robbery and to illegally procure the authorisation of the warrant of arrest that is relied upon in the extradition request.”

He further claimed Muteswa is in a relationship with one of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s sons.

“I  reserve the right to disclose his name should the need arise,” he said.

The businessman is seeking an order declaring the extradition warrant unlawful.

Buyanga also wants the hearing at the Randburg magistrate court to be discontinued and set aside for lack of jurisdiction.

In his founding affidavit, Buyanga said South Africa has no extradition treaty with Zimbabwe.

Buyanga was arrested on November 10 on the back of a warrant issued in his home country.

Initially, he was granted R150 000 bail but was arrested immediately after on separate charges of contravening the Immigration Act.

The businessman filed another bail application, which the court dismissed. He has been in custody since then.

Buyanga argues he is being held on a non-extraditable offence.

The application reads: “I am further advised that contempt of court is not an extraditable offence in terms of the SADC Protocol on Extradition as read with Criminal Law (Codification and Reform)(chapter 9:23) Act of Zimbabwe.

“I am therefore advised and believe the advice to be correct: to the extent that the sentence for contempt of court in Zimbabwe is a fine or a period of imprisonment not exceeding one year or both, it follows that no request for my extradition should have been made relying upon the alleged contempt charges.

“To that extent, I have advised the extradition request by the government of Zimbabwe was irreparably defective.”

The Randburg Magistrate Court will hold an inquiry in terms of sections 9 and 10 of the Extradition Act.

However, Buyanga says: “Because I was prima facie arrested unlawfully, the Randburg magistrate court cannot lawfully exercise its jurisdiction over me. By extension, it cannot, therefore, purport to hold an extradition inquiry that is premised on my unlawful arrest.

“To that extent, the legality of the extradition inquiry is equally tainted.

“I there humbly request that this honourable court ought to review and set aside the warrant of arrest on which I was arrested on 10 November 2022, because it was applied for and authorised improperly.”

All Set For Nomination Court Sitting

ALL is set for the Nomination Court which is sitting today marking the beginning of the race for the August 23 harmonised elections.

Aspiring candidates sponsored by political parties and independents across the country are today expected to submit their nomination papers.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) had by end of business yesterday, set up stations at provincial magistrate courts and at all councils offices where candidates will file their nomination papers.

A Chronicle news crew observed some aspiring candidates conducting a pre-lodging exercise with ZEC officials assisting them to verify their papers.

ZEC chief elections officer Mr Utloile Silaigwana said the commission is ready for the sitting of the Nomination Court.

He said the public should be aware that elections will be conducted using new delimitation boundaries.

“We would like to advise that the Nomination Courts as per the proclamation will commence at 10AM and close at 4PM tomorrow, 21 June 2023. This is in terms of the electoral law Section 46 subsection 7 of the Electoral Act and that says no nomination paper shall be received after 4PM on the nomination date,” he said.

Mr Silaigwana however said those candidates who will be inside the Nomination Court by 4PM, will be attended to.

He said ZEC has fixed anomalies that the public raised during the voter’s roll inspection.

“I want to assure the electorate that the commission has rectified the anomalies that were identified by both voters and ourselves.

“From the proclamation of the election by the State President setting 23 August as the date for the harmonised elections, ZEC would like to advise the electorate that the voters’ roll for this election closed on the 2nd of June in accordance with the electoral law,” said Mr Silaigwana

The main political parties yesterday said they are targeting all the available seats ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections.

Zanu- PF national commissar Mike Bimha said the party has candidates for all contested seats.

“As before we have never had any fear of contesting for any position, we will contest all positions. After the nomination court, our campaigns start,” he said.

Bimha said the ruling party is confident of a resounding victory.

He said Zanu- PF has assembled the best team chosen by the party’s structures to represent the party in the elections.

“We are getting closer to what we have been waiting for. We have been organising our party, re-energising our party, holding our internal elections as per our constitution, mobilising our electorate, educating our membership in terms of what the party stands for and what Government has done since the coming of the Second Republic and what has already been achieved in terms of our road towards achieving Vision 2030,” said Bimha.

MDC spokesperson Mr Witness Dube said his party will be fielding candidates across the board despite not having finalised the list for those contesting for local authority seats.

“With regards to the Parliamentary positions we are fielding a full complement of 210 candidates, plus the proportional representation list, that is the Senate, Lower House and the proportional representation for councils,” he said.

Mr Dube said the party had by yesterday 90 percent of the candidates for councils.

” We will do our final tally first thing in the morning before our team heads to the Nomination Court,” he said.

Posting on social media platform Twitter, Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) deputy spokesperson Mr Gift Ostallos Siziba said the opposition party will contest in all the available seats for councils.

“One Presidential candidate. 210 Members of Parliament. 1970 Councillors. Let’s go!” posted Mr Siziba.

Businessman Nabbed For Car Theft Denied Bail

Harare businessman Malvern Chimutashu, who was recently arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, has been denied bail at the High Court and will be in prison pending trial.

Chimutashu (40) of Borrowdale, had his application for bail pending trial dismissed by Justice Esther Muremba who noted that the accused did not disclose in his application that he had two other pending cases before the courts.

Allegations are that on December 12, 2022, Chimutashu sold a Mercedes Benz (registration number AFX4285) to the complainant for US$6 728.

The complainant then put up the car for sale for US$15 000.

After learning that the complainant was selling the motor vehicle, Chimutashu told the complainant that he had secured a buyer and was given directions to the garage where the car was parked.

On February 15, 2023, Chimutashu and two other men proceeded to the garage where the accused was given the car keys for a test drive.

Chimutashu is said to have driven the car away and never returned it.

In the second case, Chimutashu is said to have defrauded another complainant of US$3 000 in 2013 and he is supposed to appear for trial on August 24.

Chimutashu is said to have lied that he was a lawyer and could represent the complainant in a court case he was facing.

Chimutashu was only arrested on June 6, 2023 in respect of the charge of theft of a motor vehicle.

The third case is another fraud matter involving US$235 000 which is at defence stage in the regional court at Harare Magistrates Court under CRB HRE R 636/2017.

The judge said the key question was if the applicant would stand trial or evade it if granted bail.

In light of these cases, there was no assurance that Chimutashu intended to stand trial.

“If information is needed on a particular point, courts should allow that information to be availed. This is why the law permits postponements in bail proceedings.

“If the accused persons want their matters dealt with urgently and expeditiously, they should ensure that they put all the relevant information in their applications.

“They cannot withhold information and then seek to rush the courts in making decisions in the absence of vital information.

“In casu if the applicant had been candid with the court right from the start about all his pending cases, we would not have postponed the hearings to enable the State to get the information from the lower court,” said Justice Muremba.

“In view of the foregoing discussion, the application for bail pending appeal is dismissed.”

In 2019, Ionna Kiki Georgias, the daughter of late former deputy minister Aguy Clement Georgias, was looking for a Mercedes Benz vehicle to buy and was referred to Chimutashu who showed her a Mercedes C200 with no registration plates and said he wanted to sell it for US$33 000 cash.

Ms Georgias agreed to buy the vehicle and made three payments of US$10 000, US$18 000 and US$5 000 to Chimutashu who then gave her the vehicle.

A few days later, Chimutashu allegedly gave her fake temporary registration number plates.

Investigations conducted found the car was not registered in Zimbabwe since it was brought in using a temporary import permit and it was impounded by Zimra.

Ms Georgias made a report to the police who then arrested Chimutashu before he appeared before the courts. During the trial, Chimutashu disappeared and a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
