PLATINUM Stars failed to move to the top of the log after being held to a nil-all draw by struggling Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium as the premiership Match Day Eight concluded.

Veteran Black Rhinos midfielder Allan Gahadzikwa produced a masterful display at the National Sports Stadium this Monday, but his masterclass could not inspire his team to victory.

The army side were clearly the better side of the day, but they could not turn their half chances into something tangible after hitting the upright post four times.

The visitors fashioned a few chances at the end, but were not clinical enough to snatch three points and move to the top of the log.

“We did not play our normal game, but I think at the end we could have come out with something unfortunately we lacked composure in front of goal and we move on to the next match at home,” said Ngezi Platinum Stars coach, Takesure Chiragwi.

The point keeps Ngezi in third position with 14 points from eight matches, but for Rhinos the draw lifts them from the bottom of the log into 17th position and they have been replaced by their army cousins, Cranborne Bullets.- ZBC News

Mai TT Threatens To Kill Critics

Dear Editor

Felistas Murata popularly known as Mai TT continues to stalk the people she owes a lot of money by threatening them that they will never step their feet in Zimbabwe.

Mai TT

Anyone who gets a threat must report to the police in Zimbabwe immediately. She is also sending hooligans and thugs to threaten people on social media. If you are in the Diaspora you can actually sue her through Zimbabwean lawyers like what Olinda did last time to shut her up. Mai TT already has a pending court case on fraud, scam and theft.

Suing her will contribute for the current case to go against her. Tinashe managed to silence Mai TT by suing her. Panashe and Shuvai silenced her when they he sued her for false allegations. It’s time for the net to close in for this ruthless self made celebrity and socialite.

Witch Doctor’s Wife In Bed With Another Man

Since sangomas are thought to possess powerful spiritual abilities to detect infidelity in their spouses or partners, dating or being married to one is not something to take lightly.

The advise is to always be cautious around them before making a major error in your life. Never cross or underestimate their ancestral or spiritual gifts. They are also thought to be able to see it before it even occurs.

However, one sangoma’s spiritual abilities from Fox Farm in Glendale, Mashonaland Central region, were questioned after one of his wives had an extramarital affair with his best friend.

After seeing his wife Petronella Ngulube in bed with his friend Trymore Kademaunga, Prince Chauruka (24), is said to have cursed his muthi for not being indestructible.

“I am a traditional healer and I have two wives and each has got two children.

“I got angry after I found the complainant stark naked in bed with one of my wives. The complainant is my friend. I hit him with a water glass and I am sorry for my actions,” pleaded Chauruka.

Son Beats Up Own Mum Over Sadza And Muriwo

Senzeni Mlotshwa, from the Mpopoma neighbourhood of Bulawayo, is a distressed lady because every time she gives her kid isitshwala without meat, he beats her up, calls her names, and threatens to murder her.

Sadza

Mlotshwa claimed her son Lenin Mlotshwa harasses her and always wants isitshwala with roasted pork when he gets home from a night out.

She said in court that she generally made an effort to win his approval in order to stop him from constantly insulting her.

She claimed that occasionally she borrowed money to purchase meat, and when she was unable to do so, her son became aggressive, beat her up, and ridiculed her.

Mlotshwa claimed that her son takes household items and sells them to pay for alcohol.

Mlotshwa said she reported him to the police and he was just warned and cautioned. He never changed and that forced her to apply for a protection order.

“I’m applying for a protection order against my son Lenin Mlotshwa. He demands fried or roasted meat every day when he is from a night out.

“At times I borrow money to buy it and when I give him isitshwala with another relish he gets angry and insults me. He would then beat me up and threaten to kill me,” she said in her affidavit.

The presiding magistrate Sikhethile Moyo granted Mlotshwa a protection order.

Mwonzora Loses Chamisa Aide Death Threats Case

By -MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora has suffered another blow after a magistrate in Chinhoyi on Tuesday acquitted Godfrey Makoko, an activist for the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC), accused of threatening to kill him.

This acquittal is a significant setback for Mwonzora, who suffered another legal defeat earlier in the week when the Constitutional Court rejected his challenge to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s (ZEC) delimitation report and his request to postpone the 2023 elections.

After a lengthy trial, Chinhoyi Magistrate Toendepi Zhou released Makoko (40), as the four witnesses called by the prosecution gave conflicting versions of events and their testimonies were deemed unreliable.

The court also noted that one of Mwonzora’s security aides, who worked at the Chinhoyi Court Complex where the alleged threats were made, testified that he never saw or heard Makoko issuing any threats of violence.

Makoko had argued, through his lawyer Kudzai Choga, that the charges against him were fabricated to settle political scores, and that Mwonzora had laid the charges to retaliate against CCC activists who had chanted political songs outside the courthouse on November 11, 2022, after Mwonzora’s application for a spoilation order against CCC was ruled defective. The magistrate ruled:

The State did not crucially interrogate fourth State witness who said he never saw accused person near complainant,” the magistrate ruled.

The State shot itself in the foot by calling the fourth witness (name supplied) who said he didn’t see any such incident of threats of attack on Mwonzora by accused person.

The State failed to prove itself beyond any reasons doubt and, therefore, this court will give benefit of doubt to accused person who is hereby acquitted and discharged.

In March, the court cleared Makoko’s co-accused: CCC interim provincial secretary Tawanda Bvumo, former Chinhoyi mayor and incumbent Ward 12 Councillor Dyke Makumbi and party security officer, Taurai Justin Munyaradzi.

Chivhayo Pays US$2M For Three Cars

By- Controversial Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has purchased and shipped three luxury vehicles worth nearly US$2 million.

The three vehicles are : a 2023 Maybach Benz GLS600 for US$400,000, a 2023 Rolls Royce Cullinan for US$850,000, and a Rolls Royce Ghost for US$700,000, bringing his total expenditure to US$1,950,000.

This comes amid anger from members of the public over the multi-million dollar 100MW Gwanda Solar Project which has failed to take off since 2015.

Chivayo, an ex-convict, blames his company’s failure to complete the project on a nine-year-long court battle between him and the government after power utility ZESA tried to terminate its contract with his Intratek.

Gwanda Solar Project Timeline:

In 2013 Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) — a subsidiary of Zesa holdings floated a tender for the installation of 100MW solar power stations. Intratek reportedly bid but lost. However, the terms of the tender were changed to allow Intratek (together with Chinese company ZTE) to be accepted and supply the solar stations.

It was alleged that the initial partners, Greenfield Solar of Germany, did not have the financing for such a project, after having been awarded the tender. They would later enter into a partnership with a Chinese company, China Electric Company, to build a now even bigger power station, said to be at the tune of US$750 million in Gwanda.

In 2014, Chivayo’s Intratrek partnered with Green Solar Europa to build a $350 million solar power station. However, China Jiangxi Corporation won the contract with a bid of $184 million.

ZPC demanded that Intratrek partner with Jiangxi, who had won the contract. Intratrek and ZTE then lowered their initial bid of $248 million to match Jiangxi’s price.

The State Procurement Board later cancelled Jiangxi’s contract, alleging that they had raised their price. Intratrek was eventually awarded the contract for $202 million, although the initial reported price was $171 million, and there is no explanation for the $30 million difference or the multiple changes in the project’s cost.

Intratrek Zimbabwe won the bid for the 100MW Gwanda Solar Project in 2015 and received $5.6 million in advance payment for preparatory work. However, legal disputes have prevented the project from being implemented. ZPC cancelled the tender after Wicknell had failed to meet the set deadlines.

2023: Chivayo won the prolonged fraud legal battle.

The Magistrate ruled that Chivayo had not defrauded ZPC since in another case, the power company had denied complaining against Chivayo. The Magistrate added that Cabinet, the State’s highest decision-making body, ordered on June 30, 2022, that the contract between Chivayo and ZPC is valid and must be carried out. The magistrate added that the Cabinet’s decision is public knowledge and endorses the continuation of the project.

The magistrate noted that a jointly carried out and ratified report on the pre-commencement works, evaluated on July 13, 2020, confirms that Chivayo and Intratek fulfilled their contractual obligations and even used their own resources to complete some of the required works. The report clears them of unfounded allegations of short-changing or defrauding ZPC. The report confirmed that as of July 13, 2020, ZPC owed Intratrek US$609 693.87 for work that had been overdelivered.

The magistrate added that while the significance of the 100MW Gwanda Solar Project for Zimbabwe is crucial, given the frequent 16-hour load-shedding power shortages, the contract between Chivayo and ZPC should be the starting and ending point. The magistrate noted that Chivayo did not violate the contract as he was supposed to deliver after all payments had been done. He only got an advance, used his own money for some work and is actually owed by ZPC.

This is happening when Zimbabwe is currently experiencing a severe power shortage caused by ageing power generation equipment, corruption, and irregular rainfall.

 Mwonzora Loses Again

Finance Minister Dragged To Parliament Over GoldMafia Revelations

Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has been dragged to parliament over the revelations in Al Jazeera’s GoldMafia documentary.

In the investigation, mafia gang members are trapped planning and operationalising money laundering between Zimbabwe, the UAE, South Africa, and UK.

In a statement, CCC Deputy President Tendai Biti announced saying:

My point of national interest is directed to the Minister of Finance whom I’m begging that you make a ruling that he be summoned to this august house to address the issue of illicit financial flows.

Mr Speaker sir, 69% of our people are living in extreme poverty surviving on less than US$1,25 a day yet this country is extremely rich. We have 64 minerals including world deposits of lithium, gold platinum, diamonds and chrome. But we have nothing to show for it.

Billion dollars are being smuggled illegally through tobacco and smuggling. Can the Minister come before this house to lay out a roadmap of how he is going to deal with corruption including the Gold Mafia and illicit financial flows and a forensic audit of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Because we can’t suffer from the “resource curse”, that we’re rich but we’re poor because a few elite individuals have decided to steal from the people of this country.

The Al Jazeera documentary shows gold smuggling and money laundering by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s allies including Uebert Angel, Ewan Macmillan, Pedzisai Scot Sakupwanya, Henrietta Rushwaya and Simon Rudland.

Consequences of smuggling:

The “Gold Mafia” documentary by Al Jazeera alleged that Zimbabwe is losing billions of dollars annually through gold smuggling. The government will not receive the taxes and royalties that it is entitled to, which can have a significant impact on the country’s finances.

Illicit financial activities can also undermine the mining sector by creating an uneven playing field for companies that operate legally. This can discourage legitimate mining companies from investing in the country, which can ultimately harm the sector’s growth and development.

The proceeds from illicit financial activities may be used to fund criminal activities or to enrich a small group of individuals at the expense of the wider population, exacerbating social and economic inequalities and undermining public trust in the government and institutions.

What are authorities saying?

The allegations made in the “Gold Mafia” documentary have not been fully corroborated by other sources, and the Zimbabwean government has denied the allegations. However, there have been other reports and allegations of gold smuggling and illicit financial activities in Zimbabwe. In 2019, the Zimbabwean government formed a task force to investigate allegations of gold smuggling and underreporting of gold sales by large mining companies. The task force reportedly uncovered evidence of gold smuggling and other illegal activities in the gold sector.

In addition, various international organizations, such as the United Nations and Global Witness, have reported on the issue of illicit financial flows and corruption in Zimbabwe’s mining sector. These reports have highlighted the need for greater transparency and accountability in the sector.

FIFA Boss Praises Munetsi

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has written a letter to Marshall Munetsi, praising his humanitarian works.

The Stade de Reims midfielder gives between 10 and 20% of his salary per month to his foundation, Marshall Munetsi Foundation, which helps children in Zimbabwe.

Sack Ndiraya, Simba Bhora Fans

Simba Bhora fans have written to the club leadership demanding that head coach Tonderai Ndiraya be relieved of his duties if he fails to collect at least four points from the next two matches.

The Premiership debutants have failed to win any of their last three games —playing out a 1-1 stalemate with Sheasham before losing to GreenFuel and Cranborne Bullets.

A section of the club’s fans waited for Ndiraya at the exit point after the loss to Bullets and demanded the dismisal of the youthful coach.

In a letter in Soccer24’s position written to the Simba Ndoro-led executive, the fans demanded that Ndiraya be shown the exit door if he fails to collect at least four points from a possible six in the next two games —against Highlanders at Babourfields on Sunday and the visit of Bulawayo Chiefs on Matchday 10.

“As Simba Bhora supporters we would like to express our feelings towards the team’s performance through this letter,” reads part of the letter.

“What forced us to write this letter is our team’s poor performance in the last three matches that is against Sheasham, Green Fuel, as well as Cranborne bullets and much blame is on our coach Mr Tonderai Ndiraya.

“We only managed to collect a single point against Sheasham FC, lost the other two games against GreenFuel and Cranborne Bullets respectively and this depicts the coach’s failure.

“In this regard, it is our wish that if the coach fails to collect four points in the next two matches he should be shown the exit door.

“The supporters are very angry with this poor performance to the extent that some are saying we won’t attend Simba Bhora matches until Mr Ndiraya is no longer the coach.”

Simba Bhora spokesperson Charles Nyatsine professed ignorance on the matter when sought for a comment.

“I’m not aware of the letter, I will enquire,” he said.

Ndiraya was appointed Simba coach ahead of the Shamva-based side’s debut season in the Castle League Premier Soccer League after they won the Northern Region Soccer League last year.

Authur Tutani, who guided the team to the country’s top-flight, is not a holder of the required CAF A coaching badge and was resigned to the role of Technical Advisor.- Soccer24 News

Cervical Cancer Prevention

Key facts

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, with an estimated 604 000 new cases and 342 000 deaths in 2020.

About 90% of the new cases and deaths worldwide in 2020 occurred in low- and middle-income countries (1).

Two human papillomavirus (HPV) types (16 and 18) are responsible for nearly 50% of high grade cervical pre-cancers
HPV is mainly transmitted through sexual contact and most people are infected with HPV shortly after the onset of sexual activity. More than 90% of them clear the infection eventually.

Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV.

Vaccination against HPV and screening and treatment of pre-cancer lesions is a cost-effective way to prevent cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer can be cured if diagnosed at an early stage and treated promptly.

Comprehensive cervical cancer control includes primary prevention (vaccination against HPV), secondary prevention (screening and treatment of pre-cancerous lesions), tertiary prevention (diagnosis and treatment of invasive cervical cancer) and palliative care.

Overview

Worldwide, cervical cancer is the fourth most frequent cancer in women with an estimated 604 000 new cases in 2020. Of the estimated 342 000 deaths from cervical cancer in 2020, about 90% of these occur in low- and middle-income countries. Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV, and an estimated 5% of all cervical cancer cases are attributable to HIV (2). Moreover, in all world regions the contribution of HIV to cervical cancer falls disproportionately on younger women.

In high-income countries, programmes are in place which enable girls to be vaccinated against HPV and women to get screened regularly and treated adequately. Screening allows pre-cancerous lesions to be identified at stages when they can easily be treated.

In low-and middle-income countries, there is limited access to these preventative measures and cervical cancer is often not identified until it has further advanced and symptoms develop. In addition, access to treatment of cancerous lesions (for example, cancer surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy) may be limited, resulting in a higher rate of death from cervical cancer in these countries.

The high mortality rate from cervical cancer globally (age standardized rate among women: 13.3/100 000 in 2020) could be reduced by effective interventions at different stages of life.

HPV and cervical cancer
A large majority of cervical cancer (more than 95%) is due to the human papillomavirus (HPV).

HPV is the most common viral infection of the reproductive tract. Most sexually active women and men will be infected at some point in their lives, and some may be repeatedly infected. More than 90% of the infected populations eventually clear the infection.

Cervical cancer is by far the most common HPV-related disease. Nearly all cases of cervical cancer can be attributed to HPV infection.

Although most HPV infections clear up on their own and most pre-cancerous lesions resolve spontaneously, there is a risk for all women that HPV infection may become chronic and pre-cancerous lesions progress to invasive cervical cancer.

It takes 15 to 20 years for cervical cancer to develop in women with normal immune systems. It can take only 5 to 10 years in women with weakened immune systems, such as those with untreated HIV infection.

Cervical cancer control: a comprehensive approach
The Global strategy towards eliminating cervical cancer as a public health problem, adopted by the World Health Assembly in 2020, recommends a comprehensive approach to cervical cancer prevention and control. The recommended actions include interventions across the life course.

Handling Debt In Mining

X factors of mining “

practical lessons to mining

Like every business mining has its key factors that can make it do extremely well or fail .

Most miners think a good sample will make them succeed unfortunately a good sample is not sustainable unless you know the importance of the following factors in the mining sector. If you master them day by day you will blossom even in dark days and enjoy glory days to the fullest.

Enjoy the ride .
Three pillars of wholesome mining in order
1 strategic management
2 Debt
3 the boss ” gold panner ” tsheketsha korokoza

1 strategic management
The mine manager is key to function his impact is so crucial such his complete absence can be measured by a lot of red flags like low output ; loss of equipment; no records ; lack of proper compliance and production that cannot be measured let alone be sustainable. Before you appoint a manager know your weakness and hire someone who will compliment your weakness. Secondly create a management team that involves you and him stop cellphone management of any kind . Cellphones are good for reports and analysis only . To your team third person in form of someone who compliments his weak ; it can be a blaster or cyanide plant manager depending on which area your manager is good at .

First attribute of your manager should be administration before anything then followed by one of the two pillars of mining leaching and mining. The security guard is not part of management must not be at whatever costs .

Your relatives ( including your wife and kids ) should get a job somewhere else or be prepared to take instructions from a management team never to directly report to you no matter what. Don’t discuss mining issues with them listen to their opinions silently unless if they qualify then appoint them . Paid management team and all your employees well and fire them for underperformance never rehire someone fired by management team .
Debt .

Debt is a cancer affecting the whole world unfortunately in artisanal mining Debt is what Cellphone lines are to econet , Lithium is to Tesla car , imagine if econet will stop selling lines without coming up with an alternative. Most of mining services are paying after work completion which is root causes of all Debts you hear about in mining stories. First artisanal miners use cheapest means to reap gold Most cases they don’t have transport and milling means this leads to smart loans by service providers then all problems begin here .

On top of that all services are available on short term based loan usually supported by black market indirectly which explains why black market cannot disappear overnight.

Since gold is not guaranteed failure to pay these loans forces credit to accumulate to so high levels such that its not surprising to find a mine owner or even worker owing 20 000usd or more ranging from diesel credit, stampmill credit, explosives credit ; rental and electricity credit for domestic purposes or many more .

Inorder to survive you have to acquire debt management skills that are not only superb but partnered with discipline. When you decide to invest in a mine a guy with more debt is the perfect partner depending on your analysis because of few factors. If he/she has more it means his mine has a huge potential just mismanagement who can borrow someone with no means to pay .

Number two you use his/ her debt as insurance through what l call debt purchase ” . This desires caution carefully study and implementation.

You take his debt but still keep it in his name negotiate for payment plan where possible complete erasing of some of them ( that’s possible ) then use his debt to double you investment on him takes years repairing his debt yet already making profits on it . Let’s miner F owes EMA 3000usd for bills and tickets ; 1500usd ministry of mines tickets; 2000usd stamp mill and 4500usd for car loan and family expenses to make 11 000usd yet you want to invest 25 000usd in his mine you just raise 14 000usd buy his 11 000usd debt ask for payment from ministry of mines and EMA then ask to pay half for stampmill debt or complete erasure then negotiate for transfer of registration first things first then you are in the game .Debt purchase is easier route into a full operational mine . Sometimes you buy personal debt only but be cautious. Will cover debt in a separate post .
3 The boss “tsheketsha; korokoza “
We have a saying ” impara ngelikatsheketsha ” . This means every goldminer has a dry spell or good spell . This means no matter how cautious you are the dry spell will hit you very hard . When supporting this guys financial remember this all the time support them based on performance in areas Iike 1 transparency; consistency, accountability more than the sample. Don’t support them when they are doing well by buying cars and houses at that point they don’t need your help they simply want to use you . Treat them as Kings all the time but don’t borrow them money like you are mother Theresa support them don’t spoiler them hunger and suffering is the manager of “the boss ” the rest is cost . Respect them their dirty is the business part personally any clean person in the mining sector Most probably is a scammmer l don’t trust such lots of them proved to me beyond doubt .

NB for debt purchase model inbox or even debt purchase itself.

Junta’s Son Arrested Over Live Ammunition

By- The late national hero Colonel Pride Charles Muchero’s son, caught by police in Chitungwiza at a car sale while selling ammunition and having over 70 live rounds of different types of firearms yesterday, appeared in court.

Chalington Tichaona Muchero (37) appeared before Harare Magistrate Ms Evelyn Mashavakure charged with unlawful possession of ammunition.
He was remanded out of custody on a $50 000 bail and will be back in court on June 19.
Prosecuting, Mr Zororai Nkomo alleged that on May 8, detectives from CID Homicide Harare received information that Muchero was selling fire arms and ammunition.
Acting upon the information, follow ups were made which led to his arrest at the car wash located at Tanza Bar, Chikwanha Business Centre in Chitungwiza.
He was searched and he led to the recovery of a 9mm blow P9 air gun with one live round in a brown bag, a knife, handcuffs and a button stick inscribed with a force number from the boot of his vehicle.
He also had a leather briefcase in the boot whose pin code he said was at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks.
Muchero eventually opened the leather briefcase which contained his personal documents, late father’s identity documents, live ammunition namely 10 x 12 bore live rounds, 17 x 9 x 19mm live rounds and,50 x 7.62mm live rounds, and 2 x firearm certificates issued on 27 June, 2022 in Muchero’s name for legal disposal of a 9mm Tokarev pistol and a 12 bore shotgun.
It was established that despite being issued with certificates to legally dispose the firearms, Muchero never actioned on that process and never handed over the said firearms to the Harare Provincial armoury on March 1 for safe custody.
Muchero led to the recovery of live ammunition in his possession and he had no firearm certificates which authorized his possession of the ammunition.

Man Kills Self Over Maintenance

A heart-wrenching story has emerged out of Harare, Zimbabwe, where a man, Takemore Chakandinakira, allegedly took his own life after being dragged to Maintenance Court by his ex-wife, Nyadzisai Katenga, several times.

The Upward Variation Papers and a Tragic Suicide

According to reports, Takemore Chakandinakira committed suicide by drinking rat poison after being served with papers from his ex-wife Nyadzisai Katenga for an upward variation.

“What should I do now? The police confirmed that he killed himself using rat poison. He should have been here today. His girlfriend and relatives are blaming me saying I’m the one who dragged him to court and H-Metro published the stories. They are saying he committed suicide because he couldn’t handle the embarrassment,” Nyadzisai told the court.

Takemore Chakandinakira’s Untold Story

The deceased had previously denied paternity of the second child when taken to court by Nyadzisai. He claimed that he had never slept with her, but magistrate Nyasha Marufu ordered him to pay $160 per month pending paternity tests.

On August 21, 2022, the two were back in court for an upward variation, and Nyadzisai accused Takemore of forging his pay slip and bank statements.

A close source, who was present in court, shared that “Whenever she came to court, she was always too dramatic. I was surprised that today she is this calm. I guess she is still processing the death of her ex.”

“Suicide is Never the Answer,” Say Family and Friends

The incident has left friends and family in a state of shock, with many expressing their dismay at the tragedy that has befallen Takemore and his loved ones. One close friend of the deceased, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “It’s really sad to see someone take their own life over such issues. Suicide is never the answer.”

Warrant Of Arrest For ED Challenger

By A Correspondent- Former Zanu PF youth member Sybeth Musengezi was yesterday issued with a warrant of arrest after he failed to appear in court to face a fraud charge.

His lawyer Doug Coltart advised the court that his client was not feeling well.

Last month, Musengezi’s trial failed to kick off after he filed two court applications seeking to stay the case, but the State, represented by Advocate Tafara Chirambira, accused him of employing delaying tactics.

Musengezi had sought stay of proceedings saying he had another similar application at the High Court and was awaiting a determination.

Allegations are that sometime in 2012, Musengezi, Allen Chisuko and Taurai Mutimbanyoka misrepresented to Zanu PF that he stayed at No 4315 Hatcliffe Extension in Harare so that he could join the ruling party’s Muzinda 1A district.

It is said that he was then registered and became a member.

In 2019, Musengezi allegedly connived with Mutimbanyoka and misrepresented that he was within the cells of Zanu PF’s Mai Chitepo branch, Muzinda 1 district.

The court heard that by doing so, he became eligible for election to a Zanu PF branch position, a preserve for members in the cell structures.

Musengezi was then elected as the Zanu PF Mai Chitepo branch Muzinda 1 district youth wing vice-chairperson.

It is alleged that Musengezi deprived the ruling party of its good reputation and good administration.

He also allegedly participated in Zanu PF programmes which he was not entitled to.

Musengezi has been challenging President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s legitimacy.

In his application, Musengezi argues that Mnangagwa unconstitutionally landed the post of first secretary of the ruling party following the toppling of the late former President Robert Mugabe in November 2017.

Zanu PF has dismissed Musengezi’s application as a non-event, noting that he is not a legitimate member of the party. But Musengezi has produced evidence that he is a card-carrying member of the party.

“My Babies Are Not Up For Adoption”: Thigh Vendor

By A Correspondent- A self-confessed thigh vendor from Hauna Growth Point in Zimbabwe has been inundated with offers to adopt her four-month-old triplets since her story was published last week. Melody Muponda, a 30-year-old single mother  and sex worker, says that despite her financial struggles, she will not give up her children for adoption.

Muponda’s Struggle

The Manica Post reports that Muponda, who offered her services in Manicaland and neighbouring Mozambique before falling pregnant, admits that she is currently back to sex work to provide for her three children. However, she says that she is not giving up her children for adoption and only requires assistance to look after them.

“Many people have called me offering to adopt the children and they keep calling even after I turn them down. I am now afraid that someone might take my children away because those who want to adopt them seem relentless,” Muponda told The Manica Post.

She added,

“What I need is help in looking after my children. The fact that I am now back into sex work should be evidence enough that I love them, and I am desperate to provide for my bundles of joy. I will not part ways with them. I will never give them up.”

Legal practitioner, Advocate Pamela Musimwa said according to Zimbabwean law, no one is allowed to take a child from their parent if they have not consented to adoption. “The adoption process is simple. You just go to the Department of Social Welfare and make your application. The authorities themselves will connect you to the child when he or she is available, you do not do this on your own,” said Advocate Musimwa.

She further stated that failure of a parent to provide for their child does not render them incapable of looking after that child. “Had it been the case, all our children would have been taken away from us and put up for adoption. It is up to the parent to give up their child.”

Adoption Process in Zimbabwe

The Children’s Act (Chapter 5:06) outlines the adoption process in Zimbabwe. The first step is making an application to the Children’s Court at any local Magistrate’s Court. The court will then refer the application to the district or provincial Social Welfare offices.

A probation officer will then be appointed, and vetting begins. Prospective parents will be vetted and put on the waiting list before a court hearing is held. After that, the adopted child will be entitled to all the rights a biological child has and bear the surname of the adoptive parents.

Advocate Musimwa said the process should lead prospective adoptive parents into obtaining an adoption order.

Keeping Biological Family Intact

Advocate Musimwa encouraged Zimbabweans to support parents in need rather than seeking to adopt their children. She said that “In fact, in some instances, the court or Social Welfare may decline to process an adoption for a child, the reason being if you really want to assist a child in need, you can do so when the child is still with their parents.”

She added, “It is important to keep biological families intact as it is in the best interests of the child. If you want to help, offer assistance that keeps families together.”

The Importance of Family Bonding

Don’t tell people elections are flawed!” argue CCC. But they ARE, hence demand for reforms b4 elections.

By Wilbert Mukori- The debate on whether to continue participating in Zimbabwe’s flawed election, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step is to withdraw,” is reaching a crescendo.

“Many people that have lost their lives would still be alive if we didn’t have sellouts and turncoats like you, Wilbert Mukori,” argued Mambo Svosve, CCC’s pointer man in North America.

“This struggle would have been over years ago. You are one of the many people that have been deployed by Zanu PF to tell people elections don’t work. Subliminally you are discouraging people to register to vote. We see you!!!”

MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one democratic reform to ensure free, fair and credible elections even when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because they are greedy and breathtakingly incompetent. They are hell bent on participating in these elections for the same reasons – greed and incompetence.

Over the years, MDC/CCC have come up with all manner of excuses to justify their failure to implement even one reform and their participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Excuses to hide their greed and incompetence.

Yes, Zimbabwe would have held her first ever free and fair elections in 2013, at the latest, if MDC had implemented the democratic reforms, the primary task of the GNU. Instead of admitting the party sold-out, I Wilbert Mukori, is being blamed for prolonging the struggle. I have blamed MDC leaders for selling out and the party is hitting back by blaming me for their greed and incompetence.

If elections are not free, fair and credible, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw,” as David Coltart admitted in his book referring the 2013 elections; it is self evident Zimbabwe’s election process is NOT working. I do not need to be deployed by Zanu PF or anyone, to say that!

Indeed, what is in Zanu PF’s interest is to say the rigged elections ARE working, get people to participate to give the regime legitimacy. So it you, Mambo Svosve, who is either a greed sell-out deployed by Zanu PF or, if you are saying rigged elections are working out of your own convolution, you are just another greed and stupid opposition leader/supporter.

With no meaningful reforms in place, Zanu PF is set to rig and win the 2023 elections. Chamisa and company will cry foul and accuse Zanu PF of rigging the elections for once accepting the elections process is not free, fair and credible – the very thing they are denying.

Chamisa and company will also blame the ordinary Zimbabweans for failing to register and vote in their numbers and then to protect the vote. Of course, it is infuriating that these sell outs should have chutzpah to blame ordinary Zimbabweans, the victims of their treasonous betrayal, to hide their greed and incompetence.

The EU has send an advance team to assess whether or not Zimbabwe can have free and fair elections in the present environment. SADC leaders did not think it was possible and they wanted the 2013 elections postponed until reforms were implemented. Both Zanu PF and MDC leaders ignored the advice. Let’s see what the EU team says about Zimbabwe’s election process.

If the EU find the current election process is flawed, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step is to withdraw”; just as SADC did in 2013. No doubt Zanu PF would want the elections to go ahead regardless on the pretext the process is free, fair and credible “to African standards!” CCC will participate in the elections regardless on the pretext the EU was “deployed by Zanu PF to tell people elections don’t work!”

If there is one thing Zimbabwe needs to do to get out of the economic and political mess the nation has been stuck in these last 43 years, that one thing is to implement the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections. SADC leader gave the nation the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. We wasted the opportunity.

The EU is going to give us another bite of the cherry, we must make this second chance count.

It would be unforgivable if we wasted yet another chance to implement the democratic reforms because we listened to people like Mambo Svosve who are insisting we don’t need reforms because Zimbabwe’s election system is working! How can a system in which voters are corralled like cattle and frogmarched to vote be judged a democratic free and fair election! Enough of this midsummer madness!

The 2008 elections were a watershed, they showed the depth and extend of Zanu PF’s carte blanche dictatorial powers were such the country cannot have meaningful elections without implementing reforms to end these powers. The sooner we admitted this the sooner we can implement the reforms and get back on track.

Burying our heads in the sand and pretending we devise strategies to win rigged elections is an MDC/CCC excuse to hide their greed and incompetence. It will be insane for the nation to fall for this oxymoronic nonsense especially now after 43 years of rigged elections!

Of course, it is nauseating that 43 years after independence, in this day and age, the whole troop of CCC leaders still have no clue what constitute free, fair and credible elections. It is even worse when the ignorant fools are in a position of power, authority and influence!

Zimbabwe cannot afford to waste another chance to implement reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship because of MDC/CCC greed and stupidity!

Buried Infant’s Corpse Missing

The 12-month-old baby was buried at Musaonyerwa Village in Chisumbanje.

“The missing corpse has not yet been found.”

What Shadaya Said

In a latest post the Alpha man had this to say:

That right there is a defeated man, nothing more sad than watching a man give up on his passions, hobbies & purpose for a woman.

Men, you need to know that a woman will test you by seeing if you’ll give up on your passions, hobbies & purpose. And if you’re weak, she’ll continue testing you more until you completely forget who you were, before you got together with her

And guess what, once she succeeds in pussfying you, she will either cheat or leave you, because women are repelled by men they control. That’s the thing about women, they’ll tame the beast in you & once that’s done, start resenting you

Stay dangerous, never lose your frame, never make a woman the centre of your universe. Learn OR perish!!!

Biti Slams Mthuli Ncube Over Free-Falling Zim Dollar

Former Finance minister Tendai Biti has taken a dig at current Treasury boss Mthuli Ncube over the free-falling local currency.

“There is rampant rejection of the local currency in the market,” Biti wrote on Twitter.

“Local manufacturers are openly rejecting the RTGS [real time gross settlement], proving once more that an economy will never be run by statutory instruments. There is an urgent need to address the failed de-dollarisation experiment. What a disaster.”

Government has introduced a cocktail of measures to stabilise the local currency including gold coins but without success.

“Zimbabwe has remained trapped by multiple crises — economic, political and social. The decay of infrastructure and the collapse of public services, the mismanagement of the exchange rate, the closure of political space, point to the fact that this lot is the worst regime in the history of governments,” Biti said.

The local currency, which was reintroduced in 2019 after a decade of multi-currency system, is trading at over 200% premium on the parallel market.

It is currently trading at between $2 500 and $2 700 to the greenback, against US$1 070 on the official market.

Some businesses have ditched the local currency altogether, charging their goods and services exclusively in United States dollars despite threats by government to unleash the Financial Intelligence Unit on them.

Ncube could not be reached for comment.

Finance ministry spokesperson Clive Mphambela requested questions in writing, but had not responded by the time of going to print.

Economists have said the continuous decline of the local currency is due to the Zimbabwe dollar liquidity chasing paltry US dollars, putting pressure on the exchange rate.

Murder Charges For Domboshava Man Who Assaulted 14-Year-Old Daughter to Death

A Domboshava man has been charged with murder after allegedly beating his 14-year-old daughter to death.

He accused her of dating their married neighbour.

Togara Kanyangira was granted $200 000 bail to attend his daughter’s burial.

The incident happened on May 7 when Kanyangira confronted his daughter about her alleged involvement with their neighbour.

She initially denied the accusation, but later admitted the affair, which infuriated Kanyangira.

He assaulted her with an electric cable, a broom and towel rail until she lost consciousness.

The girl’s stepmother, Tabeth, tried to restrain Kanyangira, but he brushed her aside and continued with the savage attack.

The next morning, Kanyangira checked on his daughter and she complained of pain in her waist and legs and couldn’t walk.

Her condition deteriorated prompting Kanyangira to hire a car to ferry her to hospital where she passed away.

Kanyangira handed himself over to the police.

‘Military Operative’ Tailing Biti Exposed

By A Correspondent| A startling revelation emerged during the ongoing trial of Harare East legislator and Constitutional lawyer Tendai Biti, as it was discovered that a state witness was, in fact, a military operative.

Biti is facing charges of assault stemming from a verbal altercation with Tatiana Aleshina, the chief operations officer of Pokugara Properties, outside the Harare Magistrates Court in November 2020.

The military operative, who identified himself as Givemore Kasekete, was the second state witness to appear before regional Magistrate Vongai Guwuriro.

During cross-examination, Biti’s defense lawyer, Muchadehama, probed Kasekete on his affiliations and interests, to which the witness responded, “No, I have no interest in Biti’s political activities.”

However, when asked to produce his identification documents, Kasekete claimed that he had lost them.

It was then that Muchadehama accused Kasekete of lying about his name and uncovered that he was More Tirivashoma, who had studied journalism at Harare Polytechnic in 2010 and was an Army Officer currently working with the Military Intelligence Department.

He added, “If you lie about your name, what more about this matter? You also lied about your number, what more about this?” In response, Kasekete denied being an army officer and stated that he did not know any army barracks.”

Biti has on several occasions sought referral to the Constitutional Court and the applications have been dismissed.

Bosso Date Simba Bhora

DEFENDING Champions FC Platinum clash with fellow Platinum miners Ngezi Platinum stars in the peak of matchday nine fixtures at Baobab Stadium this Sunday.

While titanic encounters like the Harare derby between CAPS United and Dynamos, as well as the Battle of Zimbabwe featuring Dynamos and Highlanders have dominated local football for years, the Platinum Derby between FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum Stars is slowly becoming a must watch encounter.

The two sister clubs have rivalry based on their origin in Platinum mining and ambition which has raised the stakes whenever they meet.

FC Platinum is the most successful of the two having won four successive league titles while Ngezi Platinum see themselves as the heir to the throne.

The two sides go into Sunday’s encounter separated by just a point with Ngezi Platinum in third position with 13 points while FC Platinum are eighth on 12 points.

However, FC Platinum have a psychological advantage having won four of the 10 league matches they have played against Ngezi, while the Mhondoro based side has two victories with the rest being draws.

Matchday nine begins on Friday as Cranborne Bullets host Green Fuel at the National Sports Stadium after the two sides won their respective matches last weekend and coincidentally collected three points for the first time this season.

Saturday sees unpredictable Herentals hosting an inconsistent Dynamos side at the National Sports Stadium.

Dynamos will be eager to get back to winning ways but it will not be easy against a side they failed to beat in league last season.

Herentals have a knack of picking up points against big teams, and last season, they stole points from Highlanders, FC Platinum and Dynamos, while this season they have already beaten defending champions FC Platinum.

In other matches, free scoring Bulawayo Chiefs take on new boys Sheasham at Luveve stadium while inform Manica Diamonds face Chicken Inn.

Sunday will see Highlanders hosting Simba Bhora at Barbourfields stadium while rejuvenated CAPS United host Hwange at the National Sports Stadium.

Triangle United battle Yadah in the last match on Sunday before match-day nine action concludes a day later with ZPC Kariba clashing against Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium.- ZBC News

Government Records 700 Suspected Cholera Cases

GOVERNMENT has implored local authorities and the public to maintain a clean environment for the country to contain the recent cholera outbreak.

With over 200 confirmed cholera having been recorded so far while there are 734 suspected cases, the government has emphasised the importance of cleanliness to stop the spread of the disease.

“Cholera is a disease that needs people to change their habits in terms of cleanliness if you see the areas that have been hit in Harare we are back to Glenview and Budiriro it’s always the same areas and the cause is the same cleanliness and cleanliness you find that the person who gets cholera is someone who has somehow inadvertently taken faecal material by mouth what it means is that this is basically a disease that needs people to be more careful and make sure that their surroundings are clean. People talk about vaccines and all that but the basic thing is very important it’s cleanliness,” said the Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr John Mangwiro.

The government also reiterated that it is prepared to contain the outbreak at a time when there have been 671 recoveries out of a cumulative total of 734 suspected cases and 207 confirmed cases.

“We are ready to deal with any eventualities. Zimbabweans are fully known ledged and our public health department is very strong we can deploy personnel and materials to combat the disease easily you know it’s just fluids and the special beds and the special facilities are already there,” added Dr Mangwiro.

Five people have succumbed to Cholera since the outbreak in February this year. – ZBC News

Government Fails To Arrest Economic Crisis

GOVERNMENT says it is seized with the issue of rising prices of basic commodities, with measures set to be put in place to protect consumers.

In a post-cabinet media briefing in Harare this Tuesday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Senator Monica Mutsvangwa said the government is looking at establishing a committee to look into the rise of prices of basic commodities, particularly bread, mealie meal, cooking oil and flour to protect the transacting public.

“The nation is being informed that Cabinet is concerned by the spiralling prices of the 14 basic goods, especially bread, flour, cooking oil and mealie-meal. The Minister of Industry and Commerce is already engaging the concerned stakeholders including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and other associations on the matter. Given the urgency of the matter, Cabinet has set up a Committee to quickly investigate, monitor and make appropriate recommendations to Cabinet with a view to bringing sanity to the situation. The Committee will comprise the following Ministers: Industry and Commerce; Finance and Economic Development; and Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services. Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry and Commerce will issue an appropriate statement on the matter,” she said.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Sekai Nzenza said the committee will investigate, monitor and make recommendations with regards to the price hikes.

Cabinet also updated the nation regarding the state of grain stocks at the Grain Marketing Board, assuring the citizenry that the nation is food secure until the next harvesting period.

“Cabinet wishes to inform the nation that current grain stocks held by the Grain Marketing Board comprise 220 000 metric tonnes of maize, 40 000 metric tonnes of traditional grains, and 160 000 metric tonnes of wheat. Millers and stockfeed manufacturers are being allocated 27 000 metric tonnes of maize and up to 7 000 metric tonnes of sorghum per month. All these stocks exclude private sector stocks, and the nation is food secure until the next harvest,” she added.

With the World Health Organisation declaring that COVID-19 is no longer a global emergency, Cabinet has with immediate effect scrapped the mandatory wearing of masks and the lifting of all border measures, among others.

“As the nation may recall, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has released a statement indicating that COVID-19 no longer constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Cabinet has directed as follows; that vaccination activities in all provinces should continue, with support from the Ministers of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, and their teams; that the mandatory wearing of face masks be lifted as the country adopts the strategy on the long-term management of the COVID-19 pandemic; that all border measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 be lifted with immediate effect; and that tourists should no longer be required to produce COVID-19 vaccination certificates at ports of entry or at tourist resorts around the country.”

The nation was also updated on the progress made so far in the resuscitation of Ziscosteel.

Cabinet also gave updates on the 100 Day Cycle Projects, tobacco selling season, summer cropping season and the successful engagements by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on the sidelines of the coronation of King Charles III at the weekend. – ZBC News

Man Killed At Girlfriend’s House Fire

A Bulawayo man died from suffocation at his girlfriend’s house in the Nketa 6 neighbourhood on Tuesday night after a fire broke out there amid allegations of arson.

House-on-Fire – file

In the four-room house’s bathroom, Trust Mandeya was discovered dead with blisters on his mouth. According to reports, the incident took place between 8 and 9 PM.

Mr. Linos Phiri, the interim chief fire officer for Bulawayo, stated that his team was still investigating Mandeya’s death.

“After extinguishing the fire we found a body in the bathroom and we then referred the case to the police for further investigations because some of the things did not add up. He did not suffer any burns,” said Mr Phiri.

He said his team was informed that before the fire started Mandeya had a fight with his girlfriend.

Mr Phiri said it is believed that Mandeya was drunk when the incident occurred.

“This incident happened at his girlfriend’s home where there were scuffles. We are told that due to the scuffle, his parents were called and his mother and father went to the house to try and quell the situation. However, it is said he ended up turning on his mother and that is when they left to report the matter to the police,” said Mr Phiri.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said investigations were underway.

“I don’t have finer details on the case at the moment. But I’m aware of it and investigations are ongoing,” said Insp Ncube.

A Chronicle news crew visited the house yesterday and observed that one of the rooms had been seriously damaged by the blaze.

The girlfriend, who declined to be named, said despite their differences, they loved each other.

“Trust was loving, he was friendly and very kind. Yes, we used to fight but he loved me and I loved him just the same. I still haven’t gone to his home because l am still in shock over what happened,” she said.

Her brother, Mr Bekezela Sibanda, said they do not know how the fire started.

“He came to visit my sister as he has always done and then I heard them fighting in my sister’s room but this is not anything new. They have fought before so I tried to intervene and asked him to leave the house. We went outside I told him to go home and he would see her the following day. By then he had calmed down and I locked him outside the door hoping he was gone,” he said.

Mr Sibanda said Mandeya became violent banging doors and knocking on windows before pushing open the kitchen door.

He said they then called Mandeya’s parents who live close by.

“I came back with his mother and we found him sleeping on my sister’s bed and when his mother asked him to leave, he refused and that is when the mother said we should go and report the matter to the police. I left with his mother while my sister said we will find her at our neighbour’s home,” he said.

Mr Sibanda said at the police station they were told to wait as officers were on patrol.

He said he was shocked to return home to find that their house had been gutted by fire.

“I was shocked to find a fire brigade team at our gate. Trust was inside the room that had burnt. I really don’t know what happened or what could have caused the fire. I have questions like everyone else,” he said.

Mandeya’s family could not be reached for comment yesterday. – state media

ED Home Town Goes Without Robots For 8 Years

In an effort to lessen the incidence of collisions at junctions, the Gweru City Council (GCC) Environment Committee has suggested placing more traffic signals close to the broken ones.

The city’s 16 traffic signals have all been out of commission for the past eight years.

Due to a legal dispute with Emobuild Construction, a contractor that was hired in 2013 and paid in full to construct traffic lights in the city centre, the local government was unable to fix the lights.

However, the traffic lights started to fail soon after they were installed.

Emobuild was subject to arbitration by the GCC for breaching its warranty. The City Council is suing for reimbursement for claims it made to drivers who were hurt in collisions at robot-controlled intersections.

“As a council, on the issue of traffic lights, we said we were going to install new ones and leave Zhang (Emobuild owner)’s (lights) as they are. As the environment committee, we have proposed to install duplicate traffic lights next to the malfunctioning ones to reduce the number of traffic accidents taking place at the intersections that are not controlled,” he said.

Cllr Chineni said the committee had apprised management on the proposal for consideration before a resolution is adopted by the full council.

“We have apprised management on this issue and they said they would look into it and make a decision. We have to resume the traffic lights project since it is long overdue,” he said.

Acting town clerk Mr Livingston Churu confirmed that management was seized with the matter.

“The issue of traffic lights is work in progress and very soon, we will see its commencement,” he said.

In 2019, the council approached the Government to intervene in the matter, but the latter could not act since the issue is pending at the courts.

Over the years, the Midlands capital has been witnessing traffic jams as a result of traffic lights that are not working.

The council’s plan to install traffic lights has been welcomed by residents, who had for long been demanding that the traffic lights be fixed.

Gweru Residents and Ratepayers Association executive director, Mr Cornilia Selipiwe, said the installation of traffic lights would reduce the number of accidents in the city.

Government Admits Economy In Quandary

– ZBC News

FC Platinum, Ngezi Battle For Supremacy

Harare Cholera Cases Rise

By-Harare residents submitted a petition to their City Council on Monday regarding the rising cases of Cholera in the city.

Over the past few weeks, Harare has reported more than 20 cases of Cholera.

As of Friday, the Health and Child Care Ministry reported at least five cases in Harare since the previous Wednesday. The country has had a total of 665 suspected cholera cases and five deaths.

The residents’ petition, directed to Mayor Jacob Mafume, accuses Harare City Council of being primarily responsible for the outbreak. Read the petition:

We are further disturbed by Harare City Council’s failure to efficiently attend to and provide permanent solutions to perennial sewer bursts, access to clean potable water and non-collection of refuse which are major drivers of waterborne diseases including Cholera with a potential to contribute to the spiking and surging of reported cases in Glen View, Budiriro, Mbare and Dzivarasekwa.

A case in point is at number 4257 Glen View 3, where sewer bursts contaminated a well which residents rely on for domestic purposes posing a health hazard to the residents of Harare.

Residents of Harare blame the city council for the current cholera outbreak, citing poor sanitary conditions in high-density suburbs, such as Glen View, Mbare, Mabvuku, Budiriro, Mufakose, and Dzivarasekwa.

The petition states that these conditions have led to the contamination of water sources, which residents rely on for safe drinking water. The city council has not done enough to fix the sewer system, and communal toilets and bathrooms have not been cleaned, forcing residents to do it themselves without proper equipment and protective clothing.

The petitioners urged the city council to improve service delivery, refurbish old sewer pipes, provide alternative clean water sources in cholera hotspots, and call an emergency all-stakeholders meeting to address the outbreak.

Muvevi Claims Mental Insanity

A HARARE magistrate yesterday ordered that former Criminal Investigations Department officer, Jaison Muvevi, be taken to a psychiatrist for a mental examination.

Muvevi, who faces four counts of murder and two attempted murder charges, had through his lawyer Blessed Matandira claimed that he was mentally unfit, and wanted to be medically examined.

Magistrate Dennis Mangosi did not oppose his application and remanded the matter to May 24.

Matandira said the indiscriminate shooting of people showed that Muvevi was mentally unstable.

The lawyer also claimed that Muvevi was incoherent and exhibited some mental problems during their engagements.

In the first charge, it is alleged Muvevi shot an unnamed man in his head “for no apparent reason” in Harare’s Eastlea suburb on November 19, 2021.

The court heard the deceased was in the company of one Nyasha Eusen, while Muvevi was in the company of two unidentified men.

It is alleged that after killing the man, Muvevi and company forced Eusen into their vehicle and drove to Huruyadzo Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza.

Embarrassed Mnangagwa Withdraws State Thievery Law

By James Gwati-The Government has withdrawn a notice published Tuesday banning the disclosure of state procurement details on health assets.

The backtracking comes after a public outcry on the latest legislation authorising government thievery.

In a statement Dr Misheck Sibanda, the Chief Secretary in the office of the President and Cabinet, said General Notice 635 of 2023 is a nullity. He said:

His Excellency the President, Dr ED Mnangagwa, has been made aware of some document gazetted as General Notice 635 of 2023, purporting to place the procurement of certain goods outside public scrutiny, on grounds of “national interest”. Upon further investigations, it has- come to light that the so-called Government Gazetted Notice is a nullity, having been published without authorisation, and without the signature of the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, as is the norm. While further investigations are underway, Government wishes to advise the public that, on the instruction of His Excellency the President, the document in question has been rescinded as it has no standing at law, in policy and in terms of set Government procedures. It thus should be disregarded.

Government remains committed as ever to managing a transparent public procurement policy and process, as required b the laws of the country.

In General Notice 635 of 2023, President Mnangagwa declared that procurement details of public health assets will not be disclosed for “national interest.” The Office of the President and Cabinet said the declaration is in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act.

Never go to bed with Zanu PF. It’s dangerous!” warned Chamisa. After 5 long GNU years of nothing, he knows!

By Wilbert Mukori- “The Constitutional Court on Monday threw out the MDC leader’s application seeking nullification of the delimitation report and a delay of the elections set for July,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Mwonzora said the report gazetted in February was flawed and created room for a rigged election.”

The truth is this is a political circus of clowns who are not funny but are always dragging the nation deeper and deeper into the abyss of poverty and hopelessness.

Douglas Mwonzora challenged the delimitation report because it “was flawed and created room for a rigged election”! Any one with half a brain will tell you Zanu PF rigged the 2013 and 2018 elections using the same 2007 delimitation report which, one assumes, Mwonzora approved. Proof there is a lot more to the country’s rigged elections than the delimitation report.

Indeed, the delimitation report is but a trivial matter. The report is supposed to be based on national censor and the verified voters’ roll. ZEC has never ever produced a verified voters’ roll in the nation’s 43 years since independence.

Team Pachedu have shown that the voters’ roll is one shambolic mess. They have found cases of twenty registered voters all living at two roomed house. Voters being transferred from one ward to another and sometime to a constituency hundreds of kilometres away without the voter’s knowledge, etc.

How a nation can hope to hold free, fair and credible elections without something as basic as a verified voters’ roll beggars belief!

Yet, surprise, surprise! Zimbabwe’s opposition have participated in these elections knowing fully well there was no verified voters’ roll, etc. and Zanu PF was rigging the elections. The opposition knew that Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats as bait – bait they found totally irresistible.

It was for the same reasons – greed and breathtaking incompetence — that the MDC leaders have failed to implement even one meaningful democratic reforms in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU.

There is no hope of Zimbabwe ever holding free and fair elections without first implementing the democratic reforms to guarantee the independence of state institutions like the Police, ZEC, etc. Only an independent ZEC can be trusted to produce a verified voters’ roll and to deliver free and fair elections.

To be blunt, it was not Douglas Mwonzora alone who sold out by failing to implement even one token reform and has been selling out by participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Nelson Chamisa, Tendai Biti, David Coltart, the late Morgan Tsvangirai, etc. are all equally guilt of selling for the nation for 30 pieces of silver.

“Never never go to bed with Zpf. It’s dangerous! Maybe just go to dinner but then use a very long spoon. Otherwise, it will end in tears! #fakapressure”. Tweeted Nelson Chamisa, responding to the report the Constitution Court had thrown out Mwonzora’s delimitation report challenge.

Considering Chamisa and Mwonzora were both senior MDC leaders throughout the GNU right up to 2020. MDC failed to implement even one reform during the GNU precisely because the MDC leaders had gone to bed with Zanu PF. So Chamisa should have tweeted “Never never go to bed with Zanu PF, AGAIN!”

Chamisa and his CCC friends are participating in these 2023 elections knowing fully well there is no verified voters’ roll and Zanu PF is rigging the elections and that participating will give the regime legitimacy. They are fighting Mwonzora over the few gravy train seats on offer as bait.

Chamisa and his CCC friends are happy wining and dinning with Zanu PF because they all have long spoons!

WestPro’s VFEX Gamble Thrown In Fresh Turmoil After High Court Orders Sale Of Pomona Land

By A Correspondent| The High Court has dealt a major blow to WestPro’s prospects of raising capital from its Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) listing after ordering the sale of one of the sites the company is developing properties.

In a High Court ruling on the matter, Justice Nyaradzo Munangati declared the uplifting of judicial attachment on 654 Pomona Township void while directing the property be advertised for sale.

Justice Munangati further ordered that transfer of title deeds in respect of Pomona City be cancelled.

In addition, Justice Mungangati declared that the judicial attachment of Stand 654 Pomona Township be restored as its upliftment was set aside.

Ken Sharpe’s company Augur Investments entered into a contract agreement with Fairclot Investments trading as Truck and Construction Private Limited (T&C Construction) for the construction of the Airport Road and was offered part of Stand Number 654 Pomona Township as payment.

After completing the construction of Airport Road, Fairclot Investments was set to get a payment of US$4.8 Million from Augur Investments.

Following the promulgation of the controversial Statutory Instrument 33 of 2019 which declared that debts owed in United States dollars could be settled in local RTGS at a rate of 1:1, Augur Investments transferred ZWL$4.8 Million and ZWL$1 078 040.21 as the principal and interest to Fairclot Investments resulting in the Sheriff of the High Court releasing title deeds of Stand Number 654 Pomona Township which was being held as judicial attachment.

The applicant Fairclot Investments represented by Mutumbwa, Mugabe and Partners challenged the upliftment.

Justice Munangati ruled that the decision of the Sheriff of the High Court to uplift the judicial attachment on Stand 654 Pomona Township which was held under Deed of Grant 2884/10 be set aside.

“It is ordered that the decision of the second respondent to uplift judicial attachment on Stand 654 Pomona Township held under Deed of grant No 2884/10 be and is hereby set aside.

“The upliftment of the judicial attachment on Stand 654 Pomona Township be declared void.

“Stand number 654 Pomona Township be and is hereby placed under judicial attachment

“Any and all transfers of title effected between the date of upliftment of judicial attachment by second respondent to the date of this order are hereby declared cancelled.

“The registrar of Deeds be and is hereby directed to cancel the transfer of title effected on Stand No 654 Pomona Township held under Deed of Grant No. 2884/10 after 10 days of the granting of this order.

“The second respondent is hereby directed to advertise for sale Stand 654 Pomona Township, held under Deed of Grant No. 2884/10 within 10 days of this order. Second respondent shall pay the applicant cost of suit on a legal practitioner and client scale,” read Justice Munangati’s ruling.

This was one of the many cases that WestProp left out from its prospectus when it sought listing on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange.

The listing was later postponed after Fairclot Investments and other companies raised alarm over the exclusion of these cases.

Mnangagwa Aunthenticates High Profile Thievery

By-There is an outcry in the country from all stakeholders after President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced the procurement details of public health assets.

Mnangagwa said assets that include construction materials, biomedical equipment, pharmaceuticals, vehicles and hospital equipment, among other health-related goods, will not be disclosed in the “national interest”.

According to General Notice 635 of 2023, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda, said the declaration is in line with section 3(6) of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act [Chapter 22:23]. Reads the General Notice in part:
PUBLIC PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL OF PUBLIC ASSETS ACT [CHAPTER 22:23]
Special Procurements in the Public Interest: Health Sector
It is hereby notified that the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe has, in terms of section 3(6) of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act [Chapter 22:23], declared the following to be of national interest and shall not be publicly disclosed-
(1) construction equipment and materials;
(2) biomedical and medical equipment;
(3) medicines and drugs (pharmaceuticals);
(4) vehicles, including ambulances;
(5) laboratory equipment, chemicals and accessories;
(6) hospital protective equipment; and
(7) repairs and maintenance services of hospital equipment and machinery.
The declaration has, however, raised concern among citizens as it will likely promote corruption among senior Government officials since public procurement deals involving the above-mentioned goods will not be disclosed to members of the public.
Commenting on the General Notice, Harare lawyer Fadzayi Mahere, who is the opposition Citizens’ Coalition Change (CCC) spokesperson, said:
Why must procurement details of construction materials, biomedical equipment, pharmaceuticals, vehicles, or hospital equipment be hidden?
Why does the Govt hate transparency? Whose interests are being protected? Why create this massive scope for looting?
It is important to note that public procurement in Zimbabwe is governed by the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act of 2017.
The Act provides for the regulation, control and monitoring of public procurement processes to ensure that they are transparent, fair, competitive, cost-effective and in accordance with the law.

Mnangagwa In Shocking Move To Hide His Regime From Public Scrutiny

President Mnangagwa on Tuesday okayed a new decree under which all procurement in construction, medical equipment, medicines and drugs as well as protective clothing in hospitals “shall not be publicly disclosed.”

Gazetted as general notice 635 of 2023, the shocking directive prevents reporting of murky public procurement.

“It is hereby notified that the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe has, in terms of section 3(6) of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act [Chapter 22:23]declared the following to be of national interest and shall not be publicly disclosed-construction equipment and materials: biomedical and medical equipment; medicines and drugs (pharmaceuticals); vehicles including ambulances; laboratory equipment, chemicals and accessories; hospital protective equipment; and repairs and maintenance services of hospital equipment and machinery,” said Misheck Sibanda, chief secretary to the president and Cabinet in the notice.

The directive has been met with negative reactions with the opposition saying it was meant to hide corruption ahead of this year’s general elections.

“This regime never ceases to amaze. Chapter 9 of the Constitution defines principles of public accountability which require good corporate governance based on transparency, openness and accountability. The regime seeks to legalize kleptocracy and execrative behavior. Absolutely ridiculous,” tweeted Ex finance minister Tendai Biti.

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere questioned the motive behind concealing public procurement.

“Why must procurement details of construction material, biomedical equipment, pharmaceuticals, vehicles or hospital equipment be hidden? Why does the Govt hate transparency? Whose interests are being protected? Why create this massive scope for looting,” she asked.

The Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe regulates all purchases made by government while the office of the auditor general is responsible for auditing all such expenditures.

13 Pupils Injured In Nyanga Horror Crash

By-Fifteen (15) people were injured when an Inter Africa bus they were travelling on was involved in an accident on Monday afternoon at the 68km-peg along the Nyanga-Rwenya Road.

13 of the injured were learners from Emmanuel High School and the other two were the bus driver and conductor.

The accident occurred near the spot where the fatal Regina Coeli bus disaster occurred in 1991.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Manicaland Province, Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the accident.

He said the bus had 73 learners on board who were on their way to the school for the start of the second term.

The injured were ferried to Regina Coeli Mission Hospital. Said Insp Muzondo:

An Inter Africa bus carrying 73 learners to Emmanuel High School was involved in an accident yesterday along the Nyanga-Rwenya Road.

The driver lost control of the bus when it developed brake failure before it veered off the road. It landed on its left side on the roadside escarpment.

He urged motorists and other road users to exercise caution at all times on the roads.

The accident occurred a day after another Inter Africa bus ferrying learners was involved in an accident along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.

Seventy-five (75) Pakame High School learners narrowly escaped death when their hired Inter Africa bus was involved in an accident along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway on Sunday.

The bus was travelling from Harare to the school which is located in Shurugwi, Midlands Province.

ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident to NewsDay, adding that all pupils escaped unhurt, but some lost property in the fire.

He said the accident occurred at the 181km peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway after a pirate taxi driver suddenly encroached onto his (bus driver’s) lane.

Baby Body Stolen From Grave

By- Police In Chipinge are investigating a case in which the body of a 12-month-old infant was allegedly stolen from a grave by unknown people in Chisumbanje.
Police said the incident came to light on Saturday, 06 May, in Musaonyerwa Village.

In a Monday ZRP Twitter page post, Police said the baby died on 7 February this year. Reads the post:
Police in Chisumbanje are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of violating a grave in which a dug-out grave was found, with a missing corpse, on 06/05/23 at Musaonyerwa Village.
The violated grave was that of an infant (12 months) who passed on 07/02/23. The missing corpse has not yet been found.
Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.
Violating a grave refers to any action that desecrates or disturbs the resting place of the dead.
This is considered a serious taboo and disrespectful to the deceased and their family members.
Grave violations in Zimbabwe include digging up graves without proper authorisation, removing or stealing items from graves (such as headstones, ornaments, or even human remains), or using grave sites for purposes other than burial or memorialisation.
A significant proportion of the Zimbabwean population believes in witchcraft, and the disappearance of the toddler’s remains could be viewed as the work of witches or people dabbling in “juju” who use human body parts for ritual purposes.
Violating a grave is considered a criminal offence and is punishable under the Burial and Cremation Act.
The penalty for violating a grave can vary depending on the severity of the offence and the circumstances surrounding it.
Those found guilty may face imprisonment for up to two years or be required to pay a fine.

Zimbabwe’s New Tennis Sensation Shines

The move to take tennis to high-density suburbs has unearthed gems including thirteen-year-old Zimbabwe national tennis team player Akeelah Khanye who has set her sights on featuring in at least one grand slam tournament.

Having been to Mozambique, Togo, Uganda and of late Kenya with the Zimbabwe national tennis team, thirteen-year-old Khanye says her next target is to feature in the Wimbledon tournament.

The St Columbus High School student who lost in the quarterfinals in Kenya is determined to conquer the world despite the recent setback.

“I used to watch tennis on television. I got inspired by Serena Williams. She could play so well. So when my father advised me to take up tennis. I just had to know that I have been to a major tournament, my target is now to play in the Wimbledon challenge,” she said.

Alongside other Zimbabwe national tennis team players like Ethan Sibanda, Courage Ndlovu and Mehluli Sibanda, Akilla is a product of the Thomasik Tennis Academy formed in 2011 to take the sport code to the high-density suburbs of Bulawayo.

The academy’s coach Michael Mlambo is satisfied with the talent at their disposal.

“We have been running this academy since 2011 and we are happy to note that we have produced tennis stars from this court. The academy nurtures talent from five-year-olds,” Mlambo noted.

Zanu PF Factionalism Continues

ZANU PF party members have been warned against abusing social media and using the platforms to denigrate each other and settle personal scores.

The ZANU PF Midlands provincial leadership is putting all hands on the deck as it rallies its supporters to have a shared vision ahead of this year’s general elections.

Addressing a Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Gweru this Sunday, ZANU PF Midlands Provincial Chairperson, Senator Larry Mavima warned of serious consequences for those found on the wrong side of the law.

“We need to drop all of our bad habits, and our bad habits are found in WhatsApp groups. This is where we shout at each other and this is where we denigrate the party leadership,” noted Senator Mavima.

“This is where we even post dirty pictures things which have nothing to do with the party simply because we want to taint other people’s images. From now on, we resolved that in each constituency, we now want only one group where everyone goes in.”

With the party’s internal polls over, focus is now the general elections expected in July or August this year.

“The big issue is about unity and it is about working. Maximum dedication to the party is what is needed now. We need to be prepared for the elections,” said Senator Mavima.

The revolutionary party’s provincial leadership was also urged to rally party supporters to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise and ensure all prospective voters are registered for the party to achieve its five million plus vote target in this year’s general elections.- ZBC News

Fake ZRP Cop Rapes Minor During Prayer

State Media – A man posing as a policeman attacked a 16-year-old girl as she was praying alone at Domboramwari in Epworth last Friday.

Before snatching her mobile and running away, the man led the girl to a remote area where he sexually assaulted her twice without any protection.

Police are presently looking for the suspect.

Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, spokesman for the Harare Provincial Police, said the victim was referred to Edith Clinic for a checkup.

“She was approached by a man who introduced himself as a police officer.

“He told her that they do not allow people to pray on that hill and informed her that she was under arrest and he was escorting her to the police station.

“Along the way, the accused person tripped the complainant and raped her twice without protection,” said Insp Chakanza.

In a related case, an 18-year-old man has been identified as the rapist of a 13-year-old girl, who he lured into his Waterfalls room before locking the door.

She was rescued the following day after her mother was tipped off, and the perpetrator is now on the run. -H Metro

Sikhala Trial Goes Mute

Due to the defence attorney’s lack of readiness, the trial for CCC lawmaker Job Sikhala and former Chitungwiza Mayor Lovemore Maiko was unable to begin yesterday.

The two are currently accused of disorderly conduct and have further court proceedings that are ongoing.

They stood before Mrs. Yeukai Dzuda, the magistrate.

Sikhala’s attorney, Mr. Jeremiah Bamu, yesterday informed the court that he required time to prepare for the defence outline because he had only just gotten the files on Monday.

In his role as the prosecutor, Mr. Tasara Chirambira claimed that on May 2 of last year, Maiko and Sikhala stoned several ZANU PF members who were conducting a rally at Zengeza 5 open ground.

Charamba, a candidate for the ZANU PF ward 7 party running in the council by-elections, served as the rally’s host., state media

Cos Fraudsters Arrested In Bulawayo

A famed “CoS” couple from Sunninghill in Bulawayo who promised to find employment for several job seekers in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland have been arrested.

The suspects, described as Gwendoline Ndlovu (35) and Melusi Ndlovu (36) pretended to be representatives of an unnamed organisation that assists job seekers in obtaining employment, work permits, and all necessary travel documentation.

Inspector Abednico Ncube, the provincial spokesperson for Bulawayo, verified their detention.

“They were approached by eight complainants around Bulawayo on different dates and they were told to pay US$ 4000 each in order to get their services. The complainants got interested and paid fractions of the total amounts charged and payment plans were made since they could not raise the full amounts,” he said.

Inspector Ncube claimed that a male who claimed to be associated with the couple conducted multiple interviews with the complainants via WhatsApp video and audio calls and informed them that they had been successful.

“They were then given periods ranging from two weeks to three weeks from the date of interviews that their processes were going to be ready for them to go to their respective destinations. However, the accused persons failed to deliver till the promised period lapsed,” he said.

He said the couple started evading their clients and decided to vacate their known office without notice.

“On the 3rd day of May 2023, one of the complainants was informed that the accused persons were vacating their office and ferrying their property from it. She quickly went there and found them loading the property into the car. She phoned the police and this led to the arrest of Melusi Ndlovu. Gwendoline Ndlovu was also arrested on the same day at Bulawayo central hospital.”

Inspector Ncube said the job seekers lost US$ 34 801.00 and nothing was recovered.

“At least 12 more similar cases have been received from new victims following their arrest.”

He urged members of the public to be cautious when dealing with agents, to verify the authenticity of the companies they want to deal with before doing any transactions so as to avoid losing large sums of money.

“An appeal is also being made for those who might have fallen victim to make their reports at the commercial crimes division at Bulawayo Central police station. The arrested accused persons are helping police with investigations,” said Inspector Ncube. –CITE

Zimbabwe’s Rising Tennis Star Seeks To Excel

Academies have become key in the development and nurturing of junior talent across all sports codes.- ZBC News

Chamisa Mocks Mwonzora

By- Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader and Change champion-in-chief Nelson Chamisa has mocked his rival Douglas Mwonzora for losing an election court challenge.

Chamisa said Mwonzora was imprudent when he allegedly hobnobbed with ZANU PF after he became the leader of MDC-T.
Chamisa made the remarks following Mwonzora’s unsuccessful application challenging the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC)’s delimitation report.
On Monday, the Constitutional Court dismissed Mwonzora’s application seeking nullification of the delimitation report.
Had the Constitutional Court granted Mwonzora’s application, the 2023 general elections would have had to be postponed.
Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said opposition leaders should never trust ZANU PF as doing so will end in tears. Said Chamisa on Twitter:
Never, never go to bed with Zpf. It’s dangerous! Maybe just go to dinner but then use a very long spoon. Otherwise, it will end in tears!
Speaking to reporters outside court after the ruling, Mwonzora said the court made a political judgment. He said:
Their (judges’) argument is that they do not have jurisdiction, in other words, that they don’t have the power to hear the case. In our respective view, the court has made a political judgment.
Mwonzora’s lawyer Lovemore Madhuku said they would likely seek a declaration that ZEC’s delimitation report is invalid at the High Court.
The general elections must be held between 26 July and 26 August, to comply with Constitutional regulations that the election must come not more than 30 days after the expiry period of the current Parliament.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently said he will proclaim the election date before the end of this month.
Current laws also stipulate that a proclamation can only be made 44-88 days before the election date.

The suspects, identified as Gwendoline Ndlovu (35) and Melusi Ndlovu (36), posed as agents of an undisclosed company which deals in securing jobs and work permits and processing all travelling documents for job seekers.

Bulawayo provincial spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed their arrest.

Mai Titi also has another case over fraud regarding complainant Rachel Mhuka.

It is alleged that sometime in September last year Mai fib approached Rachel Mhuka saying she was in need of US$10 000 so that she could start a business.

The court heard thatshe volunteered to give Mhuka a Mercedes Benz (AFF9759), which she claimed belonged to her, as surety. Mai Titi allegedly told Mhuka thatshe would forfeit the Mercedes Benz in the event that she failed to repay the US$10 000 on or before November 30, 2022.

Kutama Teachers In Embarrassing Nudes Scandal

By- Two teachers senior at Kutama College are facing disciplinary action after their nude pictures went viral on social media.

The two teachers at the Catholic-run school, Vincent Makandiodza Masangwi and Rumbidzai Chatambarara, had a long-running secret relationship.

One male teacher said Masangwi’s wife exposed the two’s illicit affair by posting the nudes she found on his cell phone on social media.
“His wife was incensed when she saw the two lovebirds’ pictures in Masangwi’s phone, and posted the nudes,” said the teacher.
He said some teachers had long suspected the two to be romantically involved as they always spent most of their time together.

“They are both in the Commercials Department and Chatambarara supervised Masangwi as the HOD.”
Masangwi teaches commerce in O-Level and A-Level business studies, while Chatambarara teaches business studies and business entrepreneurship.
Another teacher said after the nudes leaked, Chatambarara went to her parents’ house in Norton.
The incident has caused a stir at Kutama College, with some parents expressing concern about the moral standards of teachers at the school.
The Catholic-run institution is known for its academic excellence and has produced several notable personalities.
The two teachers are yet to comment on the matter, and it remains unclear if the authorities will take any disciplinary action against them.

Court Goes For Mnangagwa Opponent

By James Gwati-Harare magistrate Mrs, Yeukai Dzuda has issued a warrant of arrest to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s challenger and Zanu PF youth member Sybeth Musengezi despite indications that he was not feeling well.

Musengezi failed to appear before the magistrate today for the continuation of his because of ill health.

His lawyer Mr Douglas Coltart told the court that his client was sick, but the court turned a deaf ear to him.

“I have been advised that the accused person has fallen ill and was unable to attend court today. I would propose that this matter be postponed to a date where the accused person has recovered. I would suggest May 18,” said Mr Coltart.
However, in response, prosecutor Mr Tafara Chirambira proposed that he be issued with a warrant of arrest.
“I direct the court to section 194(2) of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act. We ask that a warrant of arrest be issued as the court did not give the accused person leave to default,” he said.
Magistrate Dzuda then issued Musengezi with a warrant of arrest.
Musengezi is facing allegations of using a fake address to join Zanu PF structures and earn himself a position in the party.

Zanu PF Speaks On Mnangagwa, King Charles 111 Embarrassing Photo-Shoot Snub

By- Zanu PF has defended the embarrassing photo shoot snub of President Emmerson Mngagagwa by King Charles 111 at his coronation in London Saturday.

The party’s spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa said that Mnangagwa was not part of the heads of State and government who had a photo opportunity with King Charles III because Zimbabwe is not a Commonwealth member.

Speaking on the sidelines of the burial of national hero Abraham Kabasa in Harare on Monday, Mutsvangwa said:
We are not a member of the Commonwealth, the President is determined that we should be readmitted into the group of nations.
Mutsvangwa added that Zimbabwe does not have the right to get close and personal with the king as it is not a Commonwealth member. He said:
But as for Zimbabwe, we did not have the right because we are not yet a member of the grouping.
When we become a member, we would be part of those who will be close to the king.
We want to engage with countries that we have cordial relationships and re-engage those we have had frosty relationships with in the past.
Our President always says we are friends to all and enemies to none.
We were happy that our President was invited to King Charles III’s coronation.
When he was still a prince, he lowered the Union Jack (British flag) and raised the Zimbabwean flag after we had won the liberation struggle in 1980.
It’s a person who we like a lot and it was imperative for the President to attend.
This shows that the engagement between Harare and London is going in a good direction.
Meanwhile, other African leaders who attended Charles III’s coronation had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Rishi Sunak but Mnangagwa got to meet the United Kingdom’s Minister for Africa, Andrew Mitchell.
Mnangagwa also met Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland who emphasised Commonwealth values in their discussion centred on re-admission.
Scotland said she was “pleased o welcome the President of Zimbabwe, Mnangagwa to Marlborough House for a courtesy call.”
She said they discussed a range of issues, including Zimbabwe’s ongoing application to rejoin the Commonwealth and reaffirmed the commitment to the values of the Commonwealth.

AMH Under Fire For Putting MP’s Name Into Disrepute

By A Correspondent| Zanu PF MP for Buhera Central Dr Matthew Nyashanu has come out guns blazing demanding US$200 000 from Alpha Media Holdings after one of its titles, Newsday attributed to him, articles written by a UK-based namesake savaging the government and President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The MP feels that the paper was trying to soil his name in a bid to destroy the political career of legislators.

Inside sources said they were some hidden hands in Zanu PF circles working with Newsday in a move to win the recently held ruling party primary elections.

The first article titled “Zim govt targeting citizens for its failures” was published on December 16 last year and was wrongly attributed to the legislator which resulted in the newspaper issuing a retraction following a complaint by the Zanu PF MP.

However, following the publication of another article last week on Wednesday titled, “Gold Mafia revelations an indictment of ED,” in which a picture of the MP was used, he on Wednesday wrote a letter to Newsday through his lawyers, Lawman Law Chambers demanding a retraction and US$200 000 in damages within seven days.

The lawyers accused the newspaper of “deliberately or recklessly” using the picture of their client as the author of the article which portrayed the President and Zanu PF negatively.

“Our client being a disciplined and loyal member of the liberation party does not hold such views or share such thinking as clearly expressed by the different Mathew Nyashanu but the insertion of his picture depicting him as the writer is misleading and defamatory of our client “On a previous occasion on the 16th December 2022, you published another article titled “Zim govt targeting citizens for its failures” by the same Mathew Nyashanu and also inserted a picture of our client as the author.

“Our client was greatly disturbed and concerned by the incident and engaged your office resulting in an apology but the damage had been done. Following the first incident it is inexplicable that there could be an accidental recurrence and the inescapable conclusion is that this was a deliberate or reckless action on your part,” reads part of the letter.

The lawyers said the newspaper was aware that their client had a namesake who holds diametrically opposed views to those that he espouses and it was incumbent on them to exercise due diligence and avoid a recurrence.

“The import of the depiction of our client as the writer of such sacrilegious material is that he is a two-faced person and traitor to his party. The publication impugns him as a disloyal party member and this is compounded by the fact that he is an Honourable Member of Parliament,” the letter further reads.

They added that the articles had resulted in serious and irreparable harm to his standing reputation and status.

High Court Overturns Dangarembga Conviction

The High Court on Monday 8 May 2023 overturned the malicious conviction of award winning and renowned novelist, filmmaker and cultural activist Tsitsi Dangarembga and Julie Barnes, a pro-democracy campaigner, who had been found guilty and penalised by Harare Magistrate Barbra Mateko, for allegedly staging an anti-government protest three years ago.

Dangarembga and Barnes were on 29 September 2022 convicted by Magistrate Mateko and sentenced to pay ZWL70 000 each or three months imprisonment in default of the fine and in addition three months imprisonment wholly suspended for five years on condition that each of them does not commit any offence involving participating in a public
gathering with intention to promote public violence, breach of peace or bigotry.

The duo, represented by Harrison Nkomo and Chris Mhike of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, was convicted after standing trial when they were arrested on 31 July 2020 and charged with participating in a public gathering with intention to promote public violence, breach of peace or bigotry as defined in Section 37(1)(b) of the Criminal Law
(Codification and Reform) Act.

During trial, prosecutors alleged that they participated in a demonstration held on 31 July 2020 in Borrowdale suburb in Harare while holding some placards inscribed “Free Hopewell, free Jacob #Zimbabwe”, “We want better reform our institution” and “Free our
journalists”.

After their conviction by Magistrate Mateko, the duo on 13 October 2022 filed an appeal against both conviction and sentence at the Harare High Court arguing that Magistrate Mateko fundamentally misdirected herself in finding them guilty in the absence of evidence linking them to participating in a public gathering with intention to
promote public violence, breach of peace or bigotry.

Dangarembga and Barnes argued that Magistrate Mateko grossly misdirected herself in abandoning the analysis on whether or not the words written on some placards which they were accused of holding during the 31 July 2020 anti-government protest, were obscene,
threatening, abusive or insulting.

They also argued that placing them on their defence after dismissing their application for discharge at the close of the prosecution case amounted to a gross misdirection on the part of Magistrate Mateko because all three state witnesses had exonerated them of committing an offence as they had confirmed that the accused persons’ messages were
not obscene, threatening, abusive or insulting.

They accused Magistrate Mateko of exhibiting bias against the award winning novelist and pro-democracy campaigner by relying on some baseless speculation and conjecture regarding potential breach of peace through social media and contended that the sentence imposed against them was disproportionate and induced a sense of shock.

On Monday 8 May 2023, High Court Judges Justice Happias Zhou and Justice Benjamin Chikowero, who presided over hearing and determination of their appeal allowed the duo’s request and set aside the conviction and sentence of Dangarembga and Barnes after ruling
that Magistrate Mateko erred and misdirected herself when she found them guilty at the end of their trial.

After setting aside Magistrate Mateko’s ruling, Justice Zhou and Chikowero found the duo not guilty and acquitted them.

Missing Chitungwiza Child-Babamukuru Has A Case To Answer: Sources

By A Correspondent| Social media has been abuzz with news that Mitchell Gwashavanhu (14), a learner at Transparency College in Chitungwiza went missing on her way home after school.

Reports emerging indicate that Mitchell was accompanied home by her friend Gloria Munyoro, Valentine Ndlovu and Bhiza at around 1300hrs but her uncle, Jephias Gwashanhu then posted on the school group that she had not reached home later that evening at exactly 2000hrs.

Investigations by this publication unearthed several issues.

To start with, sources confirmed that Mitchell was last seen on her way home with her friends who have confirmed the same story even to Chitungwiza Police.

The same friends confirmed that Mitchell appeared unhappy on the day in question as she was very acting very unusual.

The source further stated that Mitchell’s friends and classmates reported that she always cried when asked about her past.

The source added that she claimed intense dislike of her father whom she accused of abandoning her when she was young.

Mitchell’s mother Margret Chitsungo died when she was very young.

The school authorities confirmed receiving the same reports when interviewied by this publication.

Police sources, school authorities and Ministry of Education officials all tended to confirm that Jephias Gwashanhu appeared evasive when quized about Mitchell’s status at home.

Jephias was very angry when asked to give background information about Mitchell especially the situation at home and flatly refused to comment on the matter. He claims his home was a paradise.

Bizarrely, it was also discovered that Mitchell had a cousin sister Esther Gwashavanhu 14 whom she stayed with.

Interestingly, Jephias is not married and does not have a maid.

Therefore, at the time of her disappearance, Mitchell and Jephias were the only occupants of the unit G home.

Information obtained from sources also show that Jephias transferred Esther from Transparency College 4 days prior to the disappearance of Mitchell.

The transfer letter request by Jephias to the school authorities stated that Esther was not taking her medication for some skin disease hence she had to go back to Murehwa, Chitimbe village to her parents Jephias’ young brother.

Some people think there could be a link between Esther’s transfer and Mitchell’s disappearance.

The sources interviewed tend to believe that Jephias has some knowledge concerning the disappearance of Mitchell that’s the main reason why he is trying to divert attention by blaming the school which is clearly not at fault in the matter.

The school confirmed to this publication that Jephias posed as Mitchell’s father and they only got to know the truth after the matter was reported to the police.

They also confirmed that Jephias himself in the company of school authorities interviewed Mitchell’s friends and classmates who told him that they had walked back home with Mitchell after they were dismissed from school.

“Everything Jephias is saying is pure crap and concocted lies whose aim only he knows but the truth will come out,” said another source privy to the investigation.

The school expressed hope that since CID homicide is involved in the matter, it is a matter of time before the world knows what really happened to Mitchell.

Parents Arrested At Prince Edward School

Seven parents were yesterday arrested at Prince Edward High school for disorderly conduct.

The parents participated in a disturbance which took place at the school.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest saying investigations have since started.

“Police arrested seven parents following a disturbance that took place at Prince Edward High School,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.

“Investigations with a view to ascertain what exactly transpired have begun,” he said.

Prince Edward School has been in the spotlight, of late, for all the wrong reasons.

It lost its flagship sporting event, the schools rugby festival, which had been held at the school for years.

Sources claimed some of the major sponsors were concerned about the bad publicity, which was being associated with the school.

Recently, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education revealed it launched investigations into headmaster, Agrippa Sora, amid allegations of abuse of school funds.

Some parents sent a petition seeking the Government’s intervention about the issue. The parents also demanded an urgent meeting with Sora and the School Development Committee (SDC).

ZiFM Reporter Harrased By Winky D Bouncers

Anesu Masamvu, a journalist with ZiFM Stereo was reportedly denied access to cover Winky D’s show which was held in Harare on 6 May 2023.

Masamvu had been accredited to cover the show by the event organisers and had been covering the show’s preparations from the beginning. But when it came to the night of the event, he was barred from covering the artist’s show.

When he enquired as to why he was now being barred from covering the event, the artist’s security detail proceeded to physically manhandle him resulting in him leaving the venue of the show for his own safety.

MISA Zimbabwe urged organisers of public events to always ensure the safety of journalists and train their security personnel to exercise restraint when dealing with journalists.

MISA Zimbabwe urges ZiFM Stereo to also raise their concerns about this incident with the organisers of the event to avoid similar mishaps in the future.

Harare Mayor Blasts Educated Govt Officials For Running Down The Economy

HARARE mayor Jacob Mafume has launched a broadside on “educated, but incompetent government ministers” whom he accused of running down the economy and failing to reign in the country’s run-away inflation.

Speaking on a local online television last week, Mafume castigated government for trying to impose academic qualifications on candidates wishing to run for council offices, saying those who were looking to make the law, while educated, had failed.

“How many doctors are in the Cabinet, where is the economy; how many doctors have run the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, where is the economy; how many doctors have run the Ministry of Finance, where is the economy now? These cities were not built by degrees, people who used to work in these cities used to have ZJC (Zimbabwe Junior Certificate), yet they built dams,” he said.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Cabinet has, among many, in its ranks Vice-President Constatino Chiwenga, who holds a Phd and Finance and Economic Development minister Mthuli Ncube, who is an economics professor.

Other ministers who hold doctorates include Amon Murwira (Higher and Tertiary ministry), Anxious Masuku (Agriculture and Lands), Sekai Nzenza (Industry and Commerce) and Paul Mavima (Labour and Social Welfare), among others.

ZEP Holders Children Risk Losing On Education

By- Thousands of children of Zimbabweans on the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) risk losing on education if the court rules against their continued stay in that country.

ZEPs are set to expire on 30 June 2023 will result in tens of thousands of Zimbabweans being forced to return home from South Africa.
This will force thousands of Zimbabwean schoolchildren to leave South Africa and enroll at local schools.
Last month, a full bench in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria reserved its judgement in the case brought by the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit Holders (ZEPHA) and other civil society organisations against the South African Government.
ZEPHA is seeking permanent residence in South Africa for ZEP holders.
But with less than two months before the expiry of ZEP, the 178 000 beneficiaries and their children face an uncertain future.
In Zimbabwe, the Second Term commenced this Monday, 08 May, and the children of ZEP holders, who are likely set to return home mid-term, may find it difficult to adapt to the local education system.
No one knows whether the Gauteng High Court will nullify the discontinuation of ZEP by South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs or validate the decision which heightens the sense of uncertainty for ZEP holders.

Mnangagwa’s King Charles III photo opportunity is now his self inflicted coup de grace

By Wilbert Mukori- President Emmerson Mnangagwa is a man on a mission to get international acceptance as a great statesman.

So, he was thrilled to bits when he received an official invitation to attend King Charles III’s coronation. A chance to hobnob with world leaders was, per se, a public endorsement that he too is a world leaders.

If only he had known what Commonwealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland, would say; he would have given the chance a miss!

“Pleased to welcome the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa to Marlborough House for a courtesy call. The President and I discussed a range of issues, including Zimbabwe’s ongoing application to re-join Commonwealth and reaffirmed the commitment to the values of the Commonwealth,” said Scotland in a tweet.

Last year Zanu PF went on a diplomatic charm offensive to get other African countries to support Zimbabwe’s application to be readmitted into the Commonwealth. The party was using the rejoining of the club as a platform to demand the lifting of sanctions imposed by the West on the regime. But most important of all, Zanu PF would have seen the readmission as proof the regime can rig the 2023 elections and still get political legitimacy.

The Commonwealth was not going to deny Zanu PF political legitimacy after readmitting Zimbabwe a few months earlier knowing fully well the regime was set to rigging the 2023. A Commonwealth endorsement would have given SADC leaders, most of whom are in the Commonwealth too, the country to grant Zanu PF legitimacy too.

The Commonwealth rejected Zimbabwe’s 2018 application to be readmit into the club because Zanu PF failed to hold free, fair and credible elections that year. Secretary General Scotland’s tweet was the equivalent of the Headmaster pointing two fingers at his eyes and then at the misbehaving student in public – “I have my eyes on you!”

Whilst is the past SADC leaders have turned a blind eye to Zanu PF vote rigging and granted the regime political legitimacy regardless. The regional body will be loather to do the same again this time when Zimbabwe has been on the international spotlight over the vast wealth amassed by Mugabe’s wife and daughter.

The recent Al Jazeera Gold Mafia has proven beyond all doubt that corruption is the main cause of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown, not sanctions as the regime has often claimed. The documentary has revealed President Mnangagwa as just a just and ruthless buffoon, not the statesman he pretends to be.

SADC leaders know they cannot endorse another Zanu PF rigged elections and grant Mnangagwa political legitimacy without calling into question their own commitment to democracy and good governance.

There is a group photograph of the crowned King Charles III with Commonwealth Heads of State and Government who attended the 6 May 2023 coronation. President Mnangagwa is conspicuous with his absence from the group photo.

“President Mnangagwa is the one taking the photo!” suggested one, mockingly.

“His Excellency the President, Dr E D Mnangagwa, has just met Baroness Scotland, the secret general of the Commonwealth. The meeting reviewed progress Zimbabwe has made along the road to readmission,” reads George Charamba’s tweet.

Not even the spin-doctor, Zimbabwe’s answer to Adolf Hitler’s Joseph Goebbels, could disguise the UK trip had been a complete disaster for Mnangagwa. He is rigging the 2023 elections is one thing but getting political legitimacy is proving a bridge too-far.

Indeed, Mnangagwa had hoped his UK trip to witness King Charles III’s coronation was going to confirm his position as a great statesman only for him to be shunned.

He needs to rig these 2023 elections but doing so could force SADC to finally deny him political legitimacy and thus indirectly delivering his own coup de grace!

High Court Reverses Dangarembga’s Conviction

By- The High Court has reversed the conviction of renowned author Tsitsi Dangarembga and acquits her of inciting violence charges.

The author was last year convicted by the magistrates’ courts for inciting public violence through a peaceful street demonstration against government corruption in 2020.
Dangarembga was arrested in July 2020 together with her neighbour, Julie Barns for holding a peaceful protest in Harare’s Borrowdale suburb.
The two were later convicted and fined ZW$70,000 in September last year by a Harare magistrate Barbra Mateko over the matter.
She appealed both conviction and sentence.
High Court judges of appeal Happias Zhou and Benjamin Chikowero ruled that Mateko was wrong in convicting and fining the two before setting aside the conviction.
Full reasons for the judgement will be provided in due course.
Dangarembga said her conviction affected her work and social life in a great way adding that she is now six months behind with her latest novel which was supposed to be out this month.
Peter Mutasa, Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition director said,” It is good that they have been acquitted but that is no reason for us to rejoice. They were never supposed to be pe

Chiwenga Speaks On Drug Abuse

CHECHECHE-Vice- President Constantino Chiwenga has said legislation to deal with drug peddlers is being crafted and warned those dealing with drugs that they will be given stiff penalties.

He was speaking at National Fitness and Wellness Festival at Checheche High School yesterday.

He said legislation to deal with peddlers is being crafted to cut the drugsupply chain.

“Drug peddling must cease. It has destroyed our youths, who are the future generation. Who will run the nation when we are gone?

“Our youths are taking drugs. Our young girls are getting married before their time. This will affect the development of our nation,” he said.
He said heavy sentences are going to be given to those found selling drugs.

Chiwenga added that Government has zero tolerance for drugs and referenced Robert Nyemudzo’s case.

“We don’t want to kill our generation. Anyone found dealing in drugs must be arrested, and we are coming up with a law to that effect. Someone came in through the window. We said no you can’t stand for Chipinge people because of drugs. He was given two years and the case is still continuing. Whoever is doing that must be jailed. Those found drunk must be jailed,” he said.- Masvingo Mirror

Tsitsi Dangarembga Conviction Reversed

Tsitsi Dangarembga, a renowned author, had a conviction against her reversed by Zimbabwe’s High Court.

A magistrate had claimed that Ms. Dangarembga’s holding a sign asking for political reform could have disturbed the calm resulted in her being found guilty of inciting violence last year.

She paid a fee and was given a six-month sentence with probation.

The reason for the revised verdict is unknown, but according to AFP, judges believed it had been reached in error.

Additionally, Ms. Dangarembga’s attorney informed the AFP news agency that of his client “no offence was committed in the first place.”

At the time, Ms Dangarembga pleaded not guilty in a trial that critics said was a sign of a government crackdown on dissent.

“The space for freedom of expression and freedom of the media is shrinking and increasingly criminalised,” Ms Dangarembga told the BBC at the time.

After Robert Mugabe’s longtime authoritarian regime, President Emmerson Mnangagwa promised improvements when he assumed office in 2017, but detractors claim little has changed.

A senior opposition MP was just found guilty of obstructing justice last week. The guilty decision against Job Sikhala prevents him from running in the next July or August presidential and legislative elections. His trial, according to some, was politically motivated.

Ms. Dangarembga posted a picture of herself grinning outside the High Court with what appear to be her solicitors and was found guilty along with her friend Julie Barnes, who was also exonerated.

One of the most well-known writers in Zimbabwe is Ms. Dangarembga. Her book This Mournable Body made the 2020 Booker Prize shortlist.- BBC

Mnangagwa Runs Away From Own Supporters

By ZimEye Correspondent | There was drama at the Zim Embassy yesterday when President Emmerson Mnangagwa bunked his own meeting at the embassy where over 500 predominantly ZANU PF members had their travel money wasted when upon arriving at the London embassy they found no trace of the Head Of State.

This was despite the tight security around the building. There were over 30 security officers led by Auxillia Mnangagwa’s brother and convicted armed robber, Paradzayi Kutyauripo.

The senior government officials who attended the non event were Mnangagwa’s girlfriend, Virginia Mabhiza (Perm Sec for Justice), and George Charamba, who is the Presidential Spokesperson.

Govt Spokesman Nick Mangwana spoke briefly for 3 minutes, and left and the Ambassador Christian Katsande later announced indicating he was unsure what has happened, ZimEye reveals.

There were business people attending and foreign dignitaries there expecting Mnangagwa’s custom of meeting Zimbabweans. But he has come to the UK twice and avoided meeting his own supporters.

The London embassy meeting was the second in a roll listed for his coronation diaspora engagements, the first which was at Holiday Inn Luton Airport.

In US Mnangagwa met the American diaspora. In Davos he met local Zimbabweans, in South Africa he held an expats meeting. But in UK he has even avoided the govt premises, the London embassy.

Cancelling the event, Mnangagwa chose to meet white businessmen one of whom humiliated him (Mnangagwa) for being too accessible, always poking his head out to investors, that is, doing the job of junior immigration clerks, in the wake of the Al Jazeera Investivative Unit’s #GoldMafia documentary.

Andrew Cartwright was on video on Sunday criticising President Emmerson Mnangagwa over how too easily accessible he is, comments which come in the wake of the embarrassing Goldmafia documentary that show how Mnangagwa almost sold a part of Victoria Falls to undercover journalists from Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit.

Said Cartwright in part, “one thing which puts Zimbabwe above other competing investment destinations is the President’s accessibility.

“There are negatives to that, but are outweighed by positives…,” he said.

ZANU PF members in UK are complaining over why Mnangagwa snubbed their own meetings (two of them) “yet we are the ones who for a long time have campaigned for sanctions to be removed,” as one told ZimEye on condition of anonymity.

The ambassador Christian Katsande did not respond to a request for comment.

While the reasons were not clear, sources told ZimEye, Mnangagwa is afraid of being humiliated among people who feel harrassed by him over the incarceration and persecution of legislator Job Sikhala who was arrested after the murder of his own client, the late Moreblessing Ali, who got killed by Mnangagwa’s supporters, the murderers who received police protection. In July 2019, Mnangagwa’s then Foreign Affairs Minister Sibusiso Moyo was sprayed water by opposition protesters after insulting victims of the nation’s second coup which happened just after elections on 1 Aug 2018. It was feared that after the broadcasting of the GoldMafia documentary, Mnangagwa would receive worse humiliation.

Mnangagwa Has Fallen Below The Talk: Leonard Koni

The excitement from the government controlled media and the so called staunch Zanu PF supporters about President Mnangagwa’s invitation to witness the coronation of King Charles 111 is so astounding. They pretend to hate the whites yet inwardly they are craving for their help and re-engagement.

By Leonard Koni

Surprisingly when the leader of the opposition visits any one of the European countries he is branded a sell out and a puppet of the West.

Will President Emmerson Mnangagwa be man enough to tell Tony Blair to influence those who gave sanctions to the country to lift them up? Is this not an opportunity to do so than always crying about sanctions.

The excitement like that of a rural person who has paid their first visit to an urban area has exposed the double standards of his government which always want to dip everywhere for self aggrandizement.

When Mnangagwa came from the 12th African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) summit that was held in Kigali, Rwanda, last year in September and another one in Sharma El Sheikh, Egypt on the sidelines of COP’27, he said Blair had accepted to bury differences and was ready to work closely with him to propel back the country to its glory days and on Friday he met again the same war monger to discuss the bilateral relations with Zimbabwe.

Since 2017 he has been holding such meetings but with no show of investors coming into the country.

If Emmerson Mnangagwa was sincere and having the interest of citizens at heart, he should have not travelled to UK looking at the state of our fragile economy.

Mnangagwa must stop pretending to be a saint whenever he goes out of the country whilst he remains ruthless when back home. There is an adage which says charity begins at home. No no matter how much Mnangagwa might try to paint Zimbabwe with a good brush but back home what he is doing remains the story of the day and on public domain.

Zimbabwe is a country buffeted by entrenched authoritarian leadership.

It is hard to protest for bad governance in the streets and you will come across bullets , rogue police officers wielding long reach baton sticks or face jail.

Right now the leader of Transform Zimbabwe Mr Jacob Ngarivhume has been convicted of inciting violence so as Job Sikhala.

Zimbabwe is being run by a ruthless, fascist mafia with absolutely no regard for human rights. All what it knows is suppressing the voice of reason.

The country is a military state with all the institutions running under the armpits of the army.

Right now intellectual meetings are being disrupted and we continue to say the country is reforming. We need change.

Citizens Take Influential Role In Selection Of Leaders

One of the key deliverables of our 2023 Agenda announced by President Chamisa at the start of the year was to come up with MPs and councillors to stand as Citizen Representatives in all 210 constituencies and 1971 wards throughout the country.

We can confirm that the process has proceeded smoothly. Candidates have been successfully nominated and vetted for each of these seats.

Stakeholders have been consulted. We are currently at the citizen caucus stage where citizens will have a say on who will be the best representative for each respective community.

We are well on course to ensure the Citizens’ Movement is competently and ethically represented in every community of Zimbabwe.

The citizens will have the opportunity to put a permanent end in the ballot box to the repression, persecution, hunger and poverty created by ZANU PF.

A CCC Government will usher in a New Great Zimbabwe with leaders who will deliver dignity, freedom and prosperity for all.- CCC

Prophet Rapes Woman To Remove Curses

A self-styled prophet from Chitungwiza was sentenced to five years in prison for kidnapping a little girl as well as two creatures as payment for purging the family house.

The 18-year-old prophet persuaded the family that they would all die right away if he did not take the girl as his bride in a scene that read more like a movie plot.

The family members accepted out of a sense of impending doom, and the prophet took the girl with him before raping her twice and making her his bride.

After a thorough trial before Chitungwiza regional magistrate Mrs. Gloria Takundwa, Talent Samanyanga (18) was found guilty of rape. A year of the six-year sentence was suspended under the condition that the defendant behaved well.

Prosecuting Ms Pamela Dzinduwa proved that in February this year, Samanyanga was hired by the young woman’s maternal grandfather at their rural home in Makore Village under Chief Samhembere.

Samanyanga cleansed the homestead and was given two beasts. But he sold the beast and told the grandfather than he had to take the granddaughter with him to Chitungwiza or else all the family members would die.

Out of fear the grandfather agreed.

On February 14, Samanyanga took the granddaughter to Chitungwiza and raped her twice.

The following day, Samanyanga took the woman to his grandmother in Cherutombo, Marondera and introduced her as his wife.

The two spent the night there and left on February 16 and returned to Chitungwiza where he rents a room.

On the same day at around 10 pm, Samanyanga raped her again.

On February 17, Samanyanga and the young woman had a misunderstanding and he chased her away from his home at around 3am.

The complainant went to report the matter to the police and Samanyanga was subsequently arrested when he followed her to the police station and was charged with rape. -state media

Teenage Hadebe has undergone successful surgery on his right leg.

The Houston Dynamo defender was placed on the club’s injury list on Sunday after picking up a leg injury.

He wasn’t even included in matchday squad for the goalless draw against Real Salt Lake and the Warriors international later confirmed his injury.
