Ten Family Members Gunned Down In KZN
By-Ten members of the same family have been shot dead in an attack on their home in South Africa, police say.
Seven females and three males were killed when their home near the city of Pietermaritzburg was ambushed early on Friday morning.
Police Minister Bheki Cele said two suspects had been arrested, one was shot dead and another is still at large. The motive is unclear.
South Africa has one of the world’s highest murder rates.
Police were first alerted to the shooting after neighbours heard gunshots.
Mr Cele said one of the victims was as young as 13, adding: “It’s a crime scene, terrible. Too many people were lost here.”
“They have arrested two people, one was injured, one is dead, one ran away and three firearms were recovered,” he told reporters at the scene of the shooting in the township of Imbali in eastern KwaZulu-Natal province.
One child has reportedly been taken to hospital.
According to local media, the gunmen managed to gain entry to the property after posing as police officers.
Mr Cele confirmed they had located the suspects at the house of a witch doctor – a traditional healer – where they had sought refuge. Police said one of the suspects – the man who was shot dead – had been on their wanted list for a long time.
This part of South Africa is known for featuring regularly in national crime stats for murder rates – a problem that has plagued it for a long time.
It’s the second mass shooting in KwaZulu-Natal province this week after four people were shot and killed on Thursday at another home north of the port city of Durban.
In January, eight people were shot dead at a birthday party in Gqeberha city in Eastern Cape Province. It followed a string of gun attacks in bars last year, with at least 15 killed in one shooting alone. BBC
By A Correspondent| Chegutu West Dexter Nduna has donated two bulls and 20 heifers to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Nduna donated the cattle to Mnangagwa during the official opening of Muduvuri Pan African Hospital and he also donated others during the commissioning of Zimbabwe Platinum Mines Limited (Zimplats) Mubaira hospital project.
He told reporters after the donation that was a way of thanking the President for developing the agriculture sector and developing the country’s economy.
Nduna has changed the face of Chegutu and is making waves in national politics.
Several motions in the National Assembly, if not more than one third of the most important ones, are attributed to Nduna.
For instance, it was him who introduced the motion for school feeding programme advocacy which has since been rolled out throughout the country.
The motion to spruce up the liberation war shrines in and outside Zimbabwe was also brought up for debate by the Chegutu West legislator.
The Special Economic Zones motion that caused the establishment of the bill and Act on the SEZs was also brought up in the National Assembly by him.
Other motions he moved include one which saw more than 3 000 artisanal miners being released on amnesty in 2016 as well as the call for the repeal of the Mines and Mineral Act, which Act is now on second reading.
The recently elected central committee member was also the brains behind the motion calling for the establishment of the exploration of the country’s resources and the quantification of minerals.
By- Former Vice President Kembo Mohadi has directed traditional leaders to gather their subjects to polling stations on voting day and ensure they vote for Zanu PF.
Speaking at the official opening of the refurbished Mhondoro Hospital in Mubaira, Mashonaland West province, Thursday, Mohadi said:
In our meetings with chiefs and headmen, they assured us (ZANU PF) of a victory.
In fact, on voting day, the headman will marshal his subjects and ensure they have all voted before he votes last.
This we will do so that we take stock and make sure that what we taught each other is followed.
During a meeting in Gokwe South District in August last year, Mohadi, who is ZANU PF’s second secretary, told chiefs, headmen, and village heads to actively support ZANU PF. Mohadi said at the time:
Please we are asking you our chiefs, headmen and village heads to develop your organisation (ZANU PF). ZANU PF is your party, did you know that?
Know from today that ZANU PF is your party. We want to fight this war against the West-fronted opposition.
ZANU PF liberated this country. Did you know that this party is yours? We want you to increase the number of people to vote for ZANU PF.
Did you hear we want five million votes next year? We want them to vote for ZANU PF and through you, we know we will achieve that.
We want every village head to give us people we will check according to your register … If we are organised, we will rule until the donkeys have horns.
Since Zimbabwe’s independence from colonial rule in 1980, ZANU PF has used traditional leaders as part of its campaign machinery in rural areas.
However, the Zimbabwe Constitution says traditional leaders should be apolitical. Chapter 15:2 of the Constitution states that:
traditional leaders must not be members of any political party or in any way participate in partisan politics, act in a partisan manner, further the interests of any political party or cause or violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of any person.
By-Zanu PF has reinstated Robert Nyemudzo as the party candidate in Chipinge South constituency for the upcoming general elections.
Nyemudzo was declared the winner of a 25 March ZANU PF primary election but was disqualified after being accused of brewing illicit beer, which was sold at Checheche Growth Point.
After Nyemudzo’s disqualification, the party installed businessman Enock Porusingazi, who is the sitting legislator, despite coming second in the primaries.
When Nyemudzo was disqualified, ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa said he (Nyemudzo) owned a factory brewing “Mutoriro”, a harmful illicit brew. Mutsvangwa said:
In Chipinge South, there was Robert Nyemudzo who was disqualified.
The reason is that he allegedly owns a factory at his home and it is one of the biggest brewers of Tumbwa and Mutoriro.
I saw some frightening pictures of small bottles in their millions which are used to bottle this dangerous stuff.
Nyemudzo later appeared before a magistrate charged with contravening the Harmful Liquids Act (Chapter 9:10) and was remanded to 24 April.
But in an unexpected twist of events, Nyemudzo has since been cleared of any wrongdoing by the party.
On Friday, he told State media that he was now the ZANU PF candidate in Chipinge South. Said Nyemudzo:
I am very happy. Cde Porusingazi has pledged to work with me, and it is now a given, the party and the President will win resoundingly in Chipinge South because we are one.
The party conducted its own investigations which cleared my name against those allegations, but protocol does not allow me to comment on that.
Only the party’s provincial leadership can comment on those issues.
On Wednesday, ZANU PF national political commissar Mike Bimha announced the party has concluded its final list of candidates for elections.

By Itai Mushekwe | BERLIN- President Emmerson Mnangagwa is reportedly plotting to have his first son with First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa, Emmerson junior, succeed him as leader of the country in 2028, Zimeye, can exclusively reveal today.
The explosive disclosures have inadvertently been confirmed by a family member and one of the president’s many children, all believed to number more than 18, from Mnangagwa’s other marriages.
So serious is the ghoulish and henious political disaster in the making, which will all but turn the Republic into a family monarchy, that Mnangagwa has also secretly lined up his twin sons with Auxillia, one who’s into business and the other a fast-tracked middle ranking military officer, to be Emmerson junior’s successive successors.
Mnangagwa’s dynastic succession mind, it would appear has also been inspired by Equatorial Guinea leader, Teodore Nguema Mbasogo, who has already installed his son, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, as vicepresident, in pole position to succeed him, high level government functionaries close to the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) have said.

allies in recent times, with the latter having gifted the former with a fully furnished luxurious presidential villa this February, in that country’s capital Malabo.
OPC officials who travelled with Mnangagwa to Malabo early this year, as part of his delegation claim to have overheard a Nguema Mbasogo conversation, where he asked Mnangagwa: “Why are you wasting time, my son is now number two, and you have many boys?”.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo Joseph Kabila ruled for 17 years after succeeding his assassinated father Laurent-Désiré as head of state in 2001.
Mnangagwa also has twin sons with the first lady, Sean and Collins Mnangagwa. Sean is a captain in the Presidential Guard, while Collins is into business dealing, controversially joining his father on several state trade and investment trips to China, Dubai and Eurasia although not employed by the government.
Furthermore, it has come to light, that the octogenarian leader is going to reconfigure and recalibrate the presidium, after presidential and parliamentary polls slated for August this year, to include his dismissed and discredited top ally and former vice president, Kembo Mohadi, who will bounce back as vice president, equal to current VP Constantino Chiwenga, in powers.
Mnangagwa is doing away with the designations of first and second vice president to politically stonewall himself from a relatively powerful Chiwenga, whom he allegedly intends to retire and resign to the ruling party’s headquarters as leader of the newly established Elders Council (EC).
Former defence minister, Sydney Sekeramayi, is currently heading the EC, and sits in the ruling party’s Politburo on the back of that ticket.
Information at hand shows that Mnangagwa will reappoint Chiwenga as VP soon after the upcoming plebiscite, but will eventually ease him out of office some time down the line, to pave way for defence minister, Oppah Muchinguri.
Mohadi and Muchinguri will thus become Mnangagwa’s two deputies, with Muchinguri back to represent a womens quota in the presidium, in similar fashion reminiscent of former VP Joice Mujuru’s elevation and promotion by the late President Robert Mugabe, in 2004.
Mujuru was in office for 10 years between 2004 to December 2014, then Mugabe fired her for allegedly scheming to torpedo him from power.
Prior to Mujuru’s rise, Mugabe had led the presidium with the late Joseph Msika and Simon Vengai Muzenda, who died in September 2003.
“My dad is going to be around for a long time, and the country will be run by our family for many more decades to come. He (Mnangagwa the father) has already said he’s still going to be president in 2030,” one of Mnangagwa’s daughters who works in the field of wildlife unwittingly allegedly told a donor with the International Anti-Poaching Foundation (IAPF), at a private fund raising event in Western Cape, South Africa recently.
“The president is there to stay for good, but we might see another Mnangagwa taking over in 2028, we call him ‘Emmerson 2’. Emmerson 2 can go for two full terms, before handing over to the twins. So you see we’re going nowhere anytime soon as a family insofar as the reigns of power in Zimbabwe are concerned.”
Government insiders and Mnangagwa faction members have also intimated, that the president would like to go for an unprecedented third term in office if there’s no resistance inside Zanu PF, and would like to see the Constitution, which has two-five year tenure limits amended, so he could run again and “possibly hand power to Emmerson junior before 2033”.
Three years ago, Mnangagwa invited the loathe of Zimbabweans, when he infamously said: “2030, ndendichipo (In 2030, I will still be President).
Zanu PF General Secretary, Obert Mpofu, has already hinted that the ruling party is prepared to tinker with the national charter, to extend embattled Mnangagwa’s tenure beyond the stipulated two five-year terms.
Mpofu first disclosed the plan at the ruling party’s youth convention in Kadoma in 2019, boasting that Zanu PF would take advantage of its twothirds majority in Parliament to effect the constitutional changes.
“Mr President, you can go beyond 2028 if you so wish because the issue of law can be taken care of in Parliament,” Mpofu said then.
Mnangagwa, who graced the event took to the podium, and declared that nothing would stop his party from making such constitutional amendments.
“We can change the laws … there is nothing that we want that cannot be done because we command two-thirds majority in Parliament,” Mnangagwa was quoted by state media.
OPC officials, and deep state operatives opposed to Mnangagwa have said his power retention machinations, are not going to go unchallenged, as VP Chiwenga and a growing coterie of senior military officers including Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Commander, Valerio Sibanda, have grown impatient with him for failing to resuscitate the economy and plunging the country into tormenting electricity blackouts.
“Something is brewing,” said a former national security minister who declined to be named, and is known for having busted an espionage scandal, which rocked the country before the formation of the GNU with the then MDC-T.
“Hazvishamise kana vakuru mukazonzwa zvonzi vazvipira kuoneka (Don’t be shocked to hear the president resigning or stepping down), our intelligence and military intelligence still has patriots, who are very good at their job.”
Mnangagwa’s official spokesperson, and deputy chief secretaryPresidential Communications, George Charamba’s mobile phone went unanswered, when comment was sort from his office.
Information minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, was also not reachable, with her ministry staff, promising to get back to us early this week, to no avail after admitting that a comment was highly unlikely from their boss, due to the succession politics nature involved, which only: “The President himself could clarify.”
Meanwhile Mnangagwa’s administration is currently reeling under the aftermath expose of a damning Al Jazeera documentary, showcasing how billions of dollars worth of gold, are being smuggled out of the country to Dubai, by a mafia cabal directly or indirectly linked to Mnangagwa himself and his family.

ZAKA –Police in Zaka are looking for Tinashe Tarwa (27), who allegedly killed a bar patron for kicking a plate of sadza a minor was eating.
Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the matter to The Mirror.
He said Tarwa of Mushayavanhu Village allegedly stabbed Tawanda Mazorodze (19) of Chivasa Village under Chief Ndanga, once on the left side of the head and once on the right side of the chest.
The incident happened on Saturday around 5 pm at Mandenya Bottle Store at Muregi Business Centre.
Circumstances are that Mazorodze arrived at the bar and laughed at a boy (16) who was eating sadza in the bar.
He allegedly described him as an abnormal eater, and the boy went to eat his sadza outside the bar…

THE 2015 Premier League champions Chicken Inn have a stern test this Sunday when they host log leaders, Caps United who are yet to taste defeat this season.
Harare giants Caps United have had a good start to the 2023 Premier Soccer League season, putting to bed last year’s drama-filled season for the former Cup Kings.
The Green Machine have managed three wins and two draws and are yet to taste defeat this season, a feat which makes their duel with the former 2015 champions, Chicken Inn an interesting one.
“It’s not an easy game especially away from home against a very good side but we take confidence from the way we have been playing and if we manage to replicate that am sure we can come away with a positive result,” noted Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe.
While the two sides are separated by four points, the Chicken Inn camp is alive to the fact that they need to dig deep if they entertain any hopes of inflicting the first defeat on Makepekepe.
“So far so good and Caps are a good side. They started well this season. What is important is for us to focus on the game,” said Chicken Inn Head Coach Prince Matore.

Crest Breeders International has begun issuing eviction orders to 2 000 families living on the Harare South Saturday Retreat Farm, widely known as Ushehwekunze, despite the Adminsitration Court ruling last year that the farm is now State land, with the company agreeing to the transfer.
Even as far back as 2015, Crest Breeders agreed in a deed of settlement with the then Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement to transfer the 1 057ha farm.
But now there are eviction orders being issued which state: “The defendant is in illegal occupation of stand number 60**, Saturday Retreat Estate, Harare. He has not paid the purchase price of US$4 per square metre, but he has unlawfully proceeded to erect illegal structures together with those claiming occupation through him within the plaintiff’s immovable property, thereby disturbing the plaintiff’s undisturbed peaceful possession.”
Last year, the Administrative Court confirmed the Government’s acquisition of Harare South Saturday Retreat Farm following a protracted stand-off that delayed development of the area and gave free reign to land barons who moved in and started selling plots without authority from the Government.
Justice Herbert Mandeya, in a disposition handed over on July 29, endorsed that the Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement was the owner of the farm instead of Crest Breeders International after Crest agreed to the transfer to the Government.
This confirmed the deed of settlement signed between the applicant, Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement and respondent Crest Breeders International in 2015.
“The compulsory acquisition of the immovable property being the remaining extent of Saturday Retreat Estate situated in the district of Salisbury measuring 1 057,381 hectares held under deed of transfer 4035/1986 by the respondent (Crest Breeders) be confirmed,” reads part of the deed of settlement.
“The Government of Zimbabwe shall sign all such documents, pass all such instruments, give all such instructions and do all things necessary to give effect to this deed and the court order sought.”
Churu Constituency aspiring legislator Cde Ephraim Fundukwa yesterday said Crest Breeders could not evict people from land owned by the State.
“The papers are very clear that the land belongs to the Government, but for some rogue reasons there are people who are pushing for the eviction of residents,” he said.
“The area has people who were lawfully given offer letters so they have a right to stay. The Government must quickly intervene. Land barons have been a menace in the area, but we say no to land barons.”
Saturday Retreat Consortium leadership composed of members from the 16 cooperatives, including Ushewekunze, Chevhu, Highfield Canaan and Tasimuka, hoped the acquisition will lead to speed implementation of development in the area.-state media

Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the matter to The Mirror.
He said Tarwa of Mushayavanhu Village allegedly stabbed Tawanda Mazorodze (19) of Chivasa Village under Chief Ndanga, once on the left side of the head and once on the right side of the chest.
The incident happened on Saturday around 5 pm at Mandenya Bottle Store at Muregi Business Centre.
Circumstances are that Mazorodze arrived at the bar and laughed at a boy (16) who was eating sadza in the bar.

Prominent businessman and corporate executive Shongwe Michael Ndoro’s ex-wife, Precious Star has been acquitted of fraud and money laundering charges.
Precious, a former director of Inter fruit (Pvt) Limited, was being accused of stealing US$2,5 million from the company she jointly owned with her ex-husband.
“From the foregoing, the State didn’t prove essential elements for both counts. It is also clear that he (ex-husband) was aware of withdrawal since 2014. He did nothing about it. The charges were reported after he was sued for divorce,” Harare magistrate Taurai Manuwere said in his ruling.
“Why did he wait for about five years to report to the police? No doubt that the matrimonial problems between the accused are the cradle of this charge.
“Accordingly, the accused person is hereby discharged at the close of the case. Resultantly, I hereby find the accused person not guilty.”
Precious and Michael divorced in 2019, but the High Court had reserved the issue of equitable division of marital assets due to pending cases.
The ex-husband is also being accused of fraudulently removing her from the directorship of Zororo Energy, a company they formed together in 2018.

CHIEFS Council president Fortune Charumbira, who has been reported for allegedly sexually abusing his married niece on two occasions, has threatened to sue the victim for defamation, claiming the charges were baseless.
Charumbira, is who is also president of Pan-African Parliament (PAP), isy accusing the victim of conniving with opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party members to fabricate charges against him after he failed to convince the victim’s family to withdraw the charges, NewsDay has established.
The victim, who cannot be named for ethical reasons, reported the matter at Masvingo Central Police Station under RRB 5457646 on Saturday last week, but Charumbira has not yet been arrested.
In leaked WhatsApp chats seen by NewsDay, Charumbira told the victim’s father that he regretted that the incident occurred and pleaded with him not to share the leaked audio in which he was allegedly soliciting for a kiss from the 27-year-old niece.
“Mangwanani Shumba. Even before I opened the audio, I heard from Nyembesi who had heard from Jonny,” the former deputy minister is heard saying.
“I like your spirit. Let us maintain the constructive approach. Let’s build and not destroy the good spirit.
“You sent me the audio to listen and respond. Nothing is better than that.
“Although I would have suggested not sharing the audio before engaging with me, I will not be diffensive (sic).
“I will be open and seek to mend. Please take your comfort to meet and get the confused circumstances, clear confusion and mixed up identity. Until now.
“Cool down. Ngatisangane tiri two (Let’s meet the two of us).
“You may choose to understand my IGNORANCE at the time (sic). I regret it.”
But Charumbira told NewsDay yesterday that he wanted to file charges against those who were raising the allegations, which he said were false.
“I actually want to sue those who are levelling those false allegations against me,” he said.
“There is no element of truth in those allegations. I never spoke to them after the charges were filed against me.”
He, however, requested further questions in writing, but had not yet responded by last night.
“I want to set the record straight,” he said.
“Send me your question on WhatsApp and I will explain everything to you.”
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said police would release a statement on the matter.
“We still stand by what we said earlier that we will release a statement in due course,” Nyathi said.
“On allegations of threatening the victim, I will check with the Officer Commanding Masvingo.”
The victim’s father refused to comment on his conversation with Charumbira.
“The complaint should speak on this matter. Let me see what I can do. I will get back to you,” he told NewsDay.
Repeated efforts to get in touch with him later were in vain as he rejected calls from this publication.
But the leaked chats seen by NewsDay show that Charumbira accused the victim of “maliciously” filing the charges against him, apparently after failing to get the family to withdraw the charges.
“I know you are working on documentation to go to Canada and run away from Zimbabwe after messing up my name with lies,” Charumbira said in the leaked chats.
“Do not run away. Ndakatosviba kare (my name was long soiled), let’s meet in court.
“As a result of this attack on me, there is a lot of information between you, sekuru Foki and Gari which I know.
“Ndavurawa image pasi rose nenhema kuti (My image has been tarnished worldwide through allegations that) I touched (your) private parts etc kidnapped etc. Whoom! Mwari ndewedu tese (God is for us all).
“Vana (The likes of) Takanayi and other CCC members had several meetings with you to push this agenda.
“I did not think you would agree to falsehoods against me to please them.”
In the 16-minute audio recording that has gone viral, Charumbira reportedly solicited for a kiss from the victim, who spurned his advances.
According to a police memo, Charumbira called the complainant on March 31 this year and invited her for lunch at a top hotel in Harare while she was on her way to Mazowe on school business.
At the hotel, Charumbira allegedly fondled the complainant’s breasts.
He also put his hand in her dress and kissed her without her consent, part of the memo reads.
Women’s rights organisations have demanded Charumbira’s arrest to allow justice to take its course.

Sources from her community suspect Rudo Nyoka was bewitched by a married woman, and died a few days, after her belly ballooned.
She was also reported to have surrendered her three-year-old daughter to a local sangoma for close to two months as a US$400 loan guarantee. Some claim she sought a charm from the sangoma to attract mbingas.

A 49 year old Harare man yesterday appeared in court for allegedly rɑp!ng his niece, who is now 18 several times.
He appeared before regional magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje charged with rɑpǝ and was remanded on bail of $200 000 to May 29.
The State alleges that in 2012, the girl was playing and the uncle went with her into his bedr00m and rɑpǝd her.
It is further alleged that sometime in 2015, the girl was slǝǝping in the dining room when the uncle returned from work, and he rɑpǝd her again. In both instances the girl was well below the age of consent.
The court heard that the uncle continued to ƨǝxuɑlly assault the girl on several occasions until she told him that if he continued, she would reveal the assaults to his wife. The uncle then stopped the rɑpǝ.

By A Correspondent- The family of a 27 year old Masvingo woman, who was allegedly ƨǝxuɑlly assaulted by president of the Chiefs Council, Fortune Charumbira, has demanded the former deputy minister’s arrest.
The victim filed a case of ƨǝxuɑl assault against Charumbira, who is also president of Pan-African Parliament (PAP), on Saturday last week at Masvingo Central Police Station under RRB 5457646.
Police said they would release a statement on the matter.
The victim is said to be Charumibra’s niece.
In an exclusive interview with NewsDay, the father, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, said: “My daughter is terrified.
She feels intimidated. This is because of the communication that she has been receiving from the perpetrator.”
Charumbira allegedly tried to influence his niece to drop the case, but did not succeed.
She will not bow to any influence to withdraw the charges,” the father said.
“But we want justice to prevail in this case. The law should take its course.
We don’t know whether because he is a high-profile person, who holds a top post, including that of PAP, is influencing authorities not to get arrested.
“But for the record, we are not engaging Chief Fortune on any platform apart from waiting for justice to take its course.”

“She went there and introduced herself to Charumbira, who acknowledged her as his daughter (niece).”
The father added: “From what my daughter told me, her encounter with him went well that first time, but was not really fruitful, because he asked her to come back another day.”
Yesterday, Charumbira said his enemies were fabricating stories about him.
“It is very clear from your publications that someone is pushing an agenda against me. It’s very clear,” he said.
In responses via WhatsApp, the chief, who is a strong Zanu PF supporter, said he does not handle land issues.
“I refer all requests for land to a team, which is assigned for that purpose,” Charumbira said.
“(The victim) never said she wanted to see me for land. Mind you, I never knew her properly.
“I have her texts leading to seeing me in Harare on March 31 and April 2. All is clear in the texts.
“I have been holding on to them for legal reasons now that there are such allegations.
“I have messages all the way through. You have one side of the narrative.”
He later said the matter was now sub judice.
“Sharing too much is too prejudicial,” the former Local Government and Public Works deputy minister said.
On Wednesday, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) deputy spokesperson Gift “Ostallos” Siziba said the law should take its course after Charumbira claimed the victim’s family was being influenced by the country’s main opposition party.
“How does CCC get involved in this case? We condemn any form of abuse and violence against women,” Siziba said.
“If there was abuse of power, Charumbira, just like any other citizen, should face the wrath of the law.
“In other democratically progressive countries, Charumbira would have resigned both from PAP and Chiefs’ Council, but because we are in Zimbabwe, he is still a free man.”

PROSPECTIVE candidates who failed to register for the November Ordinary and Advanced level examinations have been given a lifeline after the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) announced that it will open a five-day window for registration next month.
The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) told ZBC News this Wednesday that it will open a five-day window to allow prospective candidates who failed to meet the 14 April deadline to register for the November examinations.
The window will be open from the 8th to the 12th of May.
“ZIMSEC has opened up a mop-up window basically for registration. This window is to allow candidates who may have failed to register by the 14th of April 2023, which was the initial deadline and also for candidates to be able to verify their registration details as well as the subjects they would have registered to,” said ZIMSEC Spokesperson Nicky Dhlamini.
“When the school opens they will be able to verify their information. The window is open from the 8th of May to the 12 of May as parents can pay for registration.”
“Currencies which can be used to pay for examination fees are the local Zimbabwean dollar, the US dollar as well as the South African Rand. The rate for Zimbabwean dollar payments will be issued on the 5th of May 2023 and it will be held during that period,” she added.
“Candidates can access registration at centres of their choice and make payments during this period. “

Citizens who subscribe to the Yellow Movement led by the pragmatic change champion-in-chief, President Nelson Chamisa appreciate the Pan-African gesture from the leader of the main opposition in the Parliament of the (Land of the Brave), Namibia.
On his official Twitter handle, the vibrant leader noted that the Popular Democratic Movement penned a letter to President Hage in his capacity as SADC Chair Troika Organ of Politics, Defence and Security to release CCC MP Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala who has endured state-sponsored incarceration on concocted charges. He went on to express his wish for Zimbabwe free, fair, credible, and unfettered elections in the impending watershed plebiscite. Citizens resident in Namibia urge SADC countries to amplify their revolutionary voices against authoritarianism in Zimbabwe, Eswatini, DRC, Malawi, etc so that residents can enjoy their democratic freedoms.
Moreover, the way Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is being treated by the state makes him an undoubted political prisoner who is being tortured for defending the vulnerable. We encourage citizens to flood the captured courts demanding the immediate release of Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala on the Court day in question.

Namibia district shall continue to demand justice for Sikhala, the gruesomely murdered CCC activist Moreblessing Ali who is yet to be buried since May 2022 and the victims of the dictatorship in Zimbabwe.
What boggles the minds of constitutional democrats in Namibia is that even those who committed serious crimes such as stock theft, murder, rape, robbery, looters, corrupters, gold thieves, etc are given bail and some are acquitted but the Hon Mp and officer of the court has been denied bail more than 12 times since the 14th of June 2022. Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala now needs solidarity from all corners of the world. Regional leaders should jet in to bring an abrupt end to the arbitrary detentions, banning of political rallies, and private meetings by the alternative government.
In a nutshell, apart from the powerful spirit of Ubuntu and true Pan-Africanism exhibited by the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) President, CCC celebrates the engagement undertaken between President Nelson Chamisa’s delegation and the SADC secretariat. We hope that this time our regional body will not continue with their habitual Big Brother politics. We anticipate a transformed regional organization with the new quest to observe free, fair, and credible elections immune from rigging, politically motivated violence, media capture, and private voters roll only to mention a few so that we will be able to avert successive disputed elections in July\August 2023.

Chinono also boasted by saying MPs are quiet about the plight of pregnant women who are dying due to poor hospital conditions, allegations which veteran activists dismiss, with the jailed Makomborero Haruzivishe saying Chin’ono is insulting MPs who for over 2 decades have stood up against state brutality raising not just what he accuses them of, but also thousands of opposition activists who sacrificed their very lives following their legislators continuing in their commitment to push for affordable quality healthcare.
Earlier in the week, Chin’ono also said he is an international figure who is not worried of if being shut out by the opposition, CCC party which is crying out against his accusations against it. He said, “Tsitsi and myself are international figures …why should we worry about CCC?,” said Hopewell Chin’ono after claiming before a SAPES Trust panel that he’s mediating for Auxillia Mnangagwa to get Nelson Chamisa to agree to a GNU, boasts which the latter rubbishes and dismisses.

ZBC photojournalist and online producer Idah Mhetu, who died on Sunday, has been buried at Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare, with colleagues describing her as an exceptional photographer.
Emotional as it was, the goodbye was not easy, but had to be said.
People from all walks of life came to bid farewell to one of the most respected female photojournalists in the media industry, Idah Mhetu, through song and dance.
Her pictures often told stories that needed no wording.
Affectionately known by her peers as MaGumbo, Mhetu succumbed to a short illness on Sunday.
As family, friends and colleagues bade farewell to Mhetu, fond memories are what they will all hold onto.
“I’ve lost a sister who was protective of me, spoiled me often and always showered me with love. Idah was a happy soul who took time to make you happy.”
“We have lost a dear colleague who was passionate about her work and the camera was her baby that she treasured and loved so much. We take solace in her works that she has left behind.”
“We worked with Idah on so many programmes and she took her work seriously that was evidenced by her photographs. We have lost an exceptional photographer in our time.”

Her work speaks for its self through the photographs she took which told the story of the work being done by the Second Republic of developing the country. She maybe gone but her photographs will live to the story for years to come,” he said.
As painful as it is, Mhetu cannot click a picture anymore, but the many clicks her camera made will forever serve as part of the beautiful memories.

Rob Edwards’ charges confirmed their play off place, after coming from behind to force a 1-1 draw at Reading last night.

PROSPECTIVE candidates who failed to register for the November Ordinary and Advanced level examinations have been given a lifeline after the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) announced that it will open a five-day window for registration next month.
The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) told ZBC News this Wednesday that it will open a five-day window to allow prospective candidates who failed to meet the 14 April deadline to register for the November examinations.
The window will be open from the 8th to the 12th of May.
“ZIMSEC has opened up a mop-up window basically for registration. This window is to allow candidates who may have failed to register by the 14th of April 2023, which was the initial deadline and also for candidates to be able to verify their registration details as well as the subjects they would have registered to,” said ZIMSEC Spokesperson Nicky Dhlamini.
“When the school opens they will be able to verify their information. The window is open from the 8th of May to the 12 of May as parents can pay for registration.”
“Currencies which can be used to pay for examination fees are the local Zimbabwean dollar, the US dollar as well as the South African Rand. The rate for Zimbabwean dollar payments will be issued on the 5th of May 2023 and it will be held during that period,” she added.
“Candidates can access registration at centres of their choice and make payments during this period. “
Registration during the window will not attract a late registration fee as has been the case in the past.- ZBC News
By-Zanu PF has endorsed the final list of candidates representing the party in the upcoming harmonised elections.
The list excludes Gokwe-Nembudziya MP Justice Mayor Wadyajena and Ziyambi Ziyambi, who lost the primary elections.
Robert Nyemudzo also bounced back in Chipinge South after being cleared of allegations of brewing illicit beer and drug peddling.
Enock Porusingazi had been endorsed as the winner of the Chipinge South primary election after it emerged that Cde Nyemudzo was involved in illegal drug dealings.
In Mutare West Constituency, Nyasha Marange will also represent Zanu PF.
Initially, Brighton Manyengureni had been declared the winner.
The Politburo also endorsed primary election results for re-runs held in five outstanding constituencies, with two female candidates defying the odds to win in Zvimba West and Gokwe Nembudziya.
Maruva Mercy Dinha is the party’s candidate for Zvimba West after defeating Ziyambi Ziyambi, while in Gokwe-Nembudziya, former Cabinet minister Flora Bhuka, bounced back after defeating the incumbent legislator Justice Mayor Wadyajena.
In Insiza South, Spare Sithole will now represent the party after Andrew Langa withdrew from the race.
The Politburo also endorsed the candidature of Ephraim Fundukwa, who will represent the party in Churu Constituency, while Mbare Constituency will be represented by Martin Matinyanya, who won against Zanu PF Harare Provincial Youth Chairman, Emmanuel Mahachi.
Addressing the media after yesterday’s Politburo meeting in Harare last night, Zanu PF National Political Commissar Mike Bimha said the Politburo met to confirm the candidates who won in the primary election re-runs held over the weekend, with focus now shifting to the roadmap for general elections expected in July or August.
“The party has now put a lid on candidates’ selection with focus now centred on galvanising support ahead of the general elections, where the target is to attain at least 5 million votes.
“The primary elections for Zanu PF are over, we now focus on the road to the final victory on our preparations to campaign for the 2023 harmonised elections,” said Bimha.
Speaking at the same occasion, Zanu PF national spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa said the Politburo expressed satisfaction with the outcome of primary elections.

He scoffed at some private media outlets that published falsehoods, claiming that President Mnangagwa had tried to save his preferred candidates in some constituencies.
Mutsvangwa said the outcomes of the primary elections were a testimony that there are no sacred cows in Zanu PF in the spirit of upholding democracy.
“I don’t know where that came from. Definitely it did not come from the voters or the membership of Zanu PF who were doing the selection of the candidates through the party system.
“The outcome of the elections comes from the voters who are membership of Zanu PF. It didn’t matter who you stood for in the party, it didn’t matter where you stood in terms of proximity or distance from the President.
“This was a communion between the candidate and the voters and that is what ensued in the process,” said Mutsvangwa.
Some Politburo members, Mutsvangwa said, failed to make it in the primary elections.
“One of the re-runs (referring to Zvimba West) has served to confirm that the President had no sacred cows.
“One of our colleagues ( Ziyambi) did not make it; he congratulated the woman Cde who came out tops. We have no losers and winners in Zanu PF,” he said.
The Politburo also commended the organisers of this year’s Independence Day celebrations, which were held in Mt Darwin, Mashonaland Central Province.
This was the first time since 1980 that Independence celebrations were held in a rural setting.

Mutare Central and Mutasa Central legislators, Innocent Gonese and Trevor Saruwaka, have declined to contest in the 2023 elections.
The two stepped down despite being nominated.
In a statement, Gonese, who is one of the opposition’s senior officials, said he had decided to back another nomination candidate Brian James to contest for the seat.
Gonese announced his decision to not contest in the upcoming general elections shortly after Saruwaka stepped down from contesting. Said Gonese:
I would like to thank the people of Mutare Central for giving me the opportunity to represent them as their representative in Parliament and also for nominating me as a Candidate in the forthcoming elections.
I am also happy that the former Mutare Mayor was also nominated as a candidate and while all the names are being vetted pending further processes, such as consultations and consensus in terms of the new candidate selection procedures, I have decided to decline the nomination.
I had a fruitful discussion with James yesterday as I consider him a very worthy and deserving person to take over from me and I am pleased to advise that we are going to work together to ensure that Mutare Central remains yellow and plays its part in ensuring that we deliver maximum votes for President Chamisa and all candidates in other positions.

By A Correspondent| A local government ministry official Mlandeli Sayi and Arosume Property Developers accountant Katson Kwaramba appeared before the Harare Magistrates Court facing fraud charges after they connived to repossess 7010 square metres of land belonging to one Absolom Muchandiona on the false pretext that he had not paid development fees.
According to the state, Sayi and Arosume Property Developers generated a letter to Muchandiona indicating that he owed US$236 633.46 which they misrepresented as development fees.
This was despite the accused knowing fully well that Muchandiona had met all his obligations with both Manson Mnaba, Arosume Property Developers and the local government ministry.
Sayi and Arosume Property Developers proceeded to repossess Muchandiona’s land to another individual named Abraham Murwira despite receiving a letter from the complainant indicating that he had paid development fees in full.
Investigations by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) later established that Muchandiona had paid intrinsic value of the land and development fees in full.
As a result of Sayi and Arosume Property Developers action, Muchandiona suffered prejudice of US$46 518.00 and ZWL$103 500.00 respectively.
Meanwhile, Sayi has another pending case before the Harare Magistrates court where is accused of criminal abuse of office resulting in the state losing almost US$1.2 Million in an urban land deal.
According to the state, Sayi secretly sold 50 residential stands from Carrick Creagh, Borrowdale set aside by the local government as collateral security.
After selling the 50 residential stands in US dollars, Sayi proceeded to pay the local government ministry in local currency.
ZACC is investigating numerous cases received from Carrick Creagh residents regarding suspected connivance between Arosume Property Development and Local Government Ministry.
Sayi and Kwaramba were granted free bail.

The Sport and Recreation Commission – SRC – chairman Gerald Mlotshwa has given an update on the meeting with a FIFA delegation.
The delegation, which consists of FIFA senior member associations governance manager Sarah Solemale and FIFA head of development programmes in Africa Solomon Mudege – a Zimbabwean based at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, arrived in the country this week.
The visit by the FIFA officials is meant to help iron out issues affecting the local football.
The country is currently banned from all international football activities due to government’s interference in running the game.
Speaking to The Herald, Mlotshwa said they held a fruitful meeting with the delegation and will have another conference with CAF officials this week.
The SRC boss said: “They have engaged us. We had a very fruitful meeting. We had a very positive meeting.
“The CAF delegation unfortunately didn’t manage to make this meeting, but we are meeting them on Thursday, and there will be further updates coming from that. But everything is quite positive, let’s put it that way.
“I think it means that both sides are committed to finding a solution to the problems bedeviling football in this country.
“It’s always a good thing when people are communicating and are meeting especially physically like this because there’s then a lot of clarity on issues that may not have been clear before.”

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, with an estimated 604 000 new cases and 342 000 deaths in 2020.
About 90% of the new cases and deaths worldwide in 2020 occurred in low- and middle-income countries (1).
Two human papillomavirus (HPV) types (16 and 18) are responsible for nearly 50% of high grade cervical pre-cancers
HPV is mainly transmitted through sexual contact and most people are infected with HPV shortly after the onset of sexual activity. More than 90% of them clear the infection eventually.
Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV.
Vaccination against HPV and screening and treatment of pre-cancer lesions is a cost-effective way to prevent cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer can be cured if diagnosed at an early stage and treated promptly.
Comprehensive cervical cancer control includes primary prevention (vaccination against HPV), secondary prevention (screening and treatment of pre-cancerous lesions), tertiary prevention (diagnosis and treatment of invasive cervical cancer) and palliative care.
Overview
Worldwide, cervical cancer is the fourth most frequent cancer in women with an estimated 604 000 new cases in 2020. Of the estimated 342 000 deaths from cervical cancer in 2020, about 90% of these occur in low- and middle-income countries. Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV, and an estimated 5% of all cervical cancer cases are attributable to HIV (2). Moreover, in all world regions the contribution of HIV to cervical cancer falls disproportionately on younger women.
In high-income countries, programmes are in place which enable girls to be vaccinated against HPV and women to get screened regularly and treated adequately. Screening allows pre-cancerous lesions to be identified at stages when they can easily be treated.
In low-and middle-income countries, there is limited access to these preventative measures and cervical cancer is often not identified until it has further advanced and symptoms develop. In addition, access to treatment of cancerous lesions (for example, cancer surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy) may be limited, resulting in a higher rate of death from cervical cancer in these countries.
The high mortality rate from cervical cancer globally (age standardized rate among women: 13.3/100 000 in 2020) could be reduced by effective interventions at different stages of life.
HPV and cervical cancer
A large majority of cervical cancer (more than 95%) is due to the human papillomavirus (HPV).
HPV is the most common viral infection of the reproductive tract. Most sexually active women and men will be infected at some point in their lives, and some may be repeatedly infected. More than 90% of the infected populations eventually clear the infection.
Cervical cancer is by far the most common HPV-related disease. Nearly all cases of cervical cancer can be attributed to HPV infection.
Although most HPV infections clear up on their own and most pre-cancerous lesions resolve spontaneously, there is a risk for all women that HPV infection may become chronic and pre-cancerous lesions progress to invasive cervical cancer.
It takes 15 to 20 years for cervical cancer to develop in women with normal immune systems. It can take only 5 to 10 years in women with weakened immune systems, such as those with untreated HIV infection.
Cervical cancer control: a comprehensive approach
The Global strategy towards eliminating cervical cancer as a public health problem, adopted by the World Health Assembly in 2020, recommends a comprehensive approach to cervical cancer prevention and control. The recommended actions include interventions across the life course.

Chinono also boasted by saying MPs are quiet about the plight of pregnant women who are dying due to poor hospital conditions, allegations which veteran activists dismiss, with the jailed Makomborero Haruzivishe saying Chin’ono is insulting MPs who for over 2 decades have stood up against state brutality raising not just what he accuses them of, but also thousands of opposition activists who sacrificed their very lives following their legislators continuing in their commitment to push for affordable quality healthcare.
Earlier in the week, Chin’ono also said he is an international figure who is not worried of if being shut out by the opposition, CCC party which is crying out against his accusations against it. He said, “Tsitsi and myself are international figures …why should we worry about CCC?,” said Hopewell Chin’ono after claiming before a SAPES Trust panel that he’s mediating for Auxillia Mnangagwa to get Nelson Chamisa to agree to a GNU, boasts which the latter rubbishes and dismisses.
Chin’ono disrupted the making of the #Goldmafia documentary by threatening a researcher who had obtained a breakthrough to pin down Emmerson Mnangagwa’s wife, Auxillia on 14 May 2022. Chin’ono claimed a publishing deadline announced to Mrs Mnangagwa was blackmail and that the twitter posting must be deleted.

ZimEye can reveal Pattni’s passport number is 564196270, and was issued a year after commencement investigations, on 23 Dec 2019.
Kamlesh Mansukhlal Damji Pattni, who grounded Kenya’s economy in the 1990s in another gold smuggling scandal, is seen on video announcing that he makes over USD10mln a day from Zimbabwean gold and money he smuggles through Harare’s RGM Airport.
Disclosures are also that he keeps President Emmerson Mnangagwa regularly updated on his daily transactions.
“When you work, you must always have the king with you, The President,” says Pattni.
He added that his operations are in other countries, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Citizens Coalition for Change Chivi South ward 28, aspiring councillor Mr Ishmael Zireva has been sentenced to four month in prison .
Two months were suspended.
No option of paying fine was given.
Chivi magistrate Esq Tafira found Zireva guilty of beating Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) member Mr Vurayai Brighton.
But Zireva denied the allegations of beating the FAZ member.
FAZ is an organization that was responsible for conducting Zanu PF primary elections.
The state witness is Mr Nicholas Chipeta who is Zanu PF ward 30 chair.
Mr Zireva was nominated uncontested as CCC’s candidate on 5th April 2023.
Commenting, on the arrest of Zireva, Masvingo urban ward 8 aspiring councillor Mr Jonah Wakurawarerwa said: “I am here at Chivi Magistrate in solidarity with Mr Zireva. He is innocent. This is political motivated persecution by Zanu PF.”
The human rights lawyers representing Zireva are: Advocate Martin Mureri and Advocate Dereck Charamba.
The two advocates have gone to Masvingo High Court to appeal the judgment.
Currently, Zireva is in custody.
Today, the FAZ and Zanu PF members besieged Chivi Court as the magistrate delivered the judgment.
Also, CCC Chivi North ward 3 coordinator Mr Masocha Mauto aged 49 was imprisoned on 17th April 2023.
Mr Masocha is accused of beating Kudzai Mbuzani on 11th April 2023.
But he is denying the allegations.
Mr Masocha said this case is political motivated.
Magistrate Nyoni denied Mr Masocha bail, he is currently languishing in Chivi remand prison.
Commenting on the arrest of Masocha, Mr Makore Francis Hungwe said, “We are disappointed that our CCC coordinator has been arrested and now in prison. We call for his immediate release.”
Human rights Advocates Martin Mureri and advocate Dereck Charamba are representing Masocha.
Vimbai Mavheruse assisted financially.

President Mnangagwa is on Saturday expected to issue title deeds to Epworth residents as he launches the title deeds and settlement regularisation programme.
This comes after the President made it Government policy to sort out title deeds for large irregular settlements after many residents had fallen victim to land barons.
Zanu PF chairman for Harare province Godwills Masimirembwa said Mnangagwa was true to his word hence he would personally be handing over title deeds to Epworth residents.
“This was a very important PCC. President Mnangagwa is on Saturday launching the title deeds and regularisation programme in Harare Metropolitan Province. So on Saturday at Epworth Secondary School the President will launch this programme where title deeds are going to be issued to families in Epworth as a starting point. Its a continuing programme not everyone will get title deeds but the President will launch by actually handing over title deeds to a number of families in Epworth,” he said.
Masimirembwa said preparations to hold the programme were at an advanced stage.
He said the ruling Party’s provincial leadership was working on mobilising supporters to express gratitude to the President on the day.
“At a technical level the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs is handling this
programme belongs to them. Title deeds are issued under the deeds office which falls under the Ministry,” he said.
“We as the beneficiaries and recipients of the President’s good works are mobilising the people of Harare to attend this momentous and historic occasion in huge numbers,” he said.
Turning to the ruling party’s chosen candidates for the forthcoming elections, Masimirembwa said they had urged them to hit the ground running and mobilise for the party’s undisputed victory.
“We were basically imploring the candidates to continue registering those members of the party who have not yet registered to vote. To continue mobilising reaching out to those in the opposition to come back to Zanu PF and making sure that obviously party members have everything that is required to enable them to vote come election day,” he said.
The party, he said, was confident of wrestling Harare province from the opposition’s grip.
“Our aim is to reclaim Harare from the opposition both at the Presidential level and parliamentary and local Government levels,” said Masimirembwa.

By A Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has undertaken to dismantle a chaotic and illegal bus rank in Harare and bring sanity and order following a complaint lodged by Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).
ZRP assured ZLHR that it is working towards bringing sanity and order by deploying some traffic enforcement officers to arrest all law breaking people including touts and operators of pirate taxis commonly known as “mushika shika”, who have become a menace at the illegal bus rank located along Sam Nujoma Street in Harare’s Avenues area.
ZRP’s undertaking came after Paidamoyo Saurombe of ZLHR wrote a letter of complaint to ZRP Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga complaining about the reluctance and failure by law enforcements agents to enforce the law and remove the illegal bus rank from the Avenues area.
In his letter, Saurombe had warned that ZRP’s failure to enforce the law and remove the illegal bus rank would leave him with no option but to seek a court order to compel ZRP to perform its constitutional duties.
Saurombe had stated that ZLHR had noted some accidents which had become a common occurrence at the illegal bus rank and which had left people injured.
In his response Chief Staffing Officer responsible for operations, only identified as Commissioner Tayengwa told Saurombe that the Officer Commanding ZRP Harare Province, only identified as Commissioner Tembo will collaborate with City of Harare and deploy traffic enforcement officers to arrest the menace at the illegal bus rank.
A Zhombe man is battling for life in hospital after being attacked by three assailants in a revenge attack.
Joshua Zigandiwa (24) of Village Kasekerere under Chief Ntabeni was reportedly beaten to a pulp by three men after a misunderstanding over an issue that “occurred long ago” ensued during a beer drinking spree at Ngigeni Business Centre in Zhombe.
Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the misunderstanding arose between Zingandiwa and Mthabisi Matengambiri (18) of Village Sindi over a long-standing grudge.
Matengambiri resultedly struck Zigandiwa with an axe once on the cheek before handing the axe to Lungisani Ndlovu (18) who also struck Zigandiwa on the back of the head.
As if that was not enough, another member of the gang, Thulani Siwela (20), also took an empty bottle and struck the complainant once on the head resulting in him falling unconscious.
Police officers who were on patrol came to Zigandiwa’s rescue and apprehended the three suspects and helped rush the complainant to hospital where he is said to be battling for life.
Investigations are in progress.

Chiyangwa does not relent, and continues to accuse his son of fraud. Why did you steal my property?, Fidza, as he is affectionately known asks.
“You are the one who groomed me!,” replies Edmund.
Towards the end, Chiyangwa says his son should have gone to South Africa and disappeared there.
By A Correspondent- Police have launched a manhunt for two suspected fraudsters who allegedly defrauded 70 people of approximately US$300 000.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Andy Baleni (aka Mambo Ndini) and Tinashe Zimunya used social media and radio stations to advertise cement which they said was on special offer.
Prospective customers were asked to pay for the cement with promises that the consignment would be delivered within seven days. Said Asst Comm Nyathi:
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is concerned with fraud cases involving the purported sale of cement “on special offer” to unsuspecting members of the public through advertisements on social media and radio stations by a company known as Koffie and King Hardware allegedly situated at 10 Mbuya Nehanda Street, Harare.
The suspects, Andy Baleni also known as Mambo Ndini whose last known address is Flat 3 Glen Lorne, Chishawasha, Harare and Tinashe Zimunya advertised cement on radio and social media platforms at very low prices and alleged special offers thereby luring the unsuspecting transacting public.
Delivery of the purported cement was said to be done within seven (7) days after payment for the consignment.
Resultantly, more than seventy (70) victims fell for the scam and were defrauded approximately USD$300 000-00.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is now appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons.
We continue to implore members of the public to exercise due diligence before making any payments as this scam is now pointing fingers at the possibility of a pyramid scheme through the alleged sale of cement.

By Wilbert Mukori- Nelson Chamisa was finally cornered and nailed down on why CCC is participating in these elections without even something as basic as a verified voters’ roll!
Quizzed on the course of action the opposition intends to take should ZEC continue to hold on to the voter’s roll as has been witnessed lately, Chamisa said: “ZEC is a servant institution of the citizens. It is a citizens’ institution. It is a national and a citizens’ institution. Citizens are the ultimate authority and authors of the Republic. They are the owners of the Republic,” reported New Zimbabwe.
“Power resides in the citizens. Legislative, judicial, and even executive. All power is vested in the citizens. So legitimately citizens are demanding that all national processes be done in a particular way. There is no debate about that. That is non-negotiable”.
Further challenged to divulge details on whether CCC will partake in “shoddy elections” conducted without a voter’s roll, the CCC leader said there is no room for ZEC to lower the standard.
“ZEC has no option but to adhere to acceptable national and global standards for free and fair elections. These elections are national so there is no room for any variation or lowering of the standard. It’s not up for debate. It is the citizens who ultimately determine the quality, calibre, standard and nature of the election,” he added.
There is room for CCC to lower the standards by participating in the elections knowing fully well they are flawed and that participating will give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. MDC/CCC has been participating in these shoddy elections out of greed.
“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the (2013) elections,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”
Indeed, the participating in these flawed elections, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw” should not come as a surprise to anyone who had been following Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends’ political performance. The MDC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms which would have freed ZEC and other state institutions to carry out their democratic duties of delivering free, fair and credible elections. They failed to implement even one meaningful reform in five years. Not one!
SADC, the regional body that had forced Robert Mugabe to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement, agreeing to the need to implement the raft of democratic reforms, wanted the 2013 elections postponed to allow reforms to be implemented, a point Coltart was referred to in the above quotation.
“If you go into the elections next month, you will lose. The elections are done!” SADC leaders had warned Tsvangirai and his MDC friends to their faces.
It was a chance for the MDC leaders to redeem themselves for the having failed to implement the reforms during the GNU. They did not heed the warning for the same reason they had failed to implement the reforms during the GNU – greed.
Ever since the GNU debacle, Zanu PF has ignored demands to implement reforms to ensure elections are free and fair elections confident MDC/CCC will participate in the elections to give the process credibility and legitimacy, just as Coltart stated above. Why indeed, would Zanu PF risk losing power by implementing even a token reform when the party is assured of the opposition’s participation NO MATTER HOW FLAWED THE PROCESS GOT!
Chamisa and company are participating in these 2023 elections WITHOUT a verified voters’ roll; they have participated in the past with no verified voters’ roll out of greed, they are still as greed as ever and therefore they will participate this year guaranteed!
Zimbabwe is in deep, deep trouble; we are failed state. Betrayed by the Mafiosi Zanu PF thugs who are rigging these 2023 elections, betrayed by the sell-outs CCC who are participating in these flawed elections out of greed and betrayed by SADC leaders who are endorsing the rigged elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of callous indifference!
Zimbabweans are not doing themselves any favours by participating in these flawed elections by foolishly believing in MDC/CCC’s idiotic winning in rigged elections strategies. CCC’s flagship “mass voter registration, mass voting and protecting the vote” strategy is dead in the water. As of 30 May 2022 only ¼ million had registered to vote, according to ZEC’s own report. This constituted 4% of CCC’s 6 million new voters!
Democracy, people’s power, works only when the people are informed and diligent. So far, we, Zimbabweans, have been a naïve and gullible lot. Mnangagwa and his Mafiosi cronies are blundering buffoons and hence the reason the country is in such a mess; it will not take much to outwit these thugs, if only we would apply ourselves!
The allegations contained in the Al Jazeera documentary, #GOLDMAFIA are very serious and as you say, they do involve allegations against British citizens. By Baba Jukwa | President Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed to respond to a live report that he was a double agent for Ian Smith’s Rhodesian Front, as published by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) sources, and also by respected Zimbabwean war veterans. The serious allegations, if true, would represent a significant breach of trust between Mnangagwa and the people of Zimbabwe.
Mnangagwa’s fake pardon, under the guise that he was too young at the time of commision of a train vandalism offence; forged birth certificates, all indicate, after his age was dropped to 17, he was sponsored to go to Zambia and later Mozambique to sabotage the liberation struggle.
Mnangagwa has so far admitted on video that contrary to reports that he worked as a lawyer in Zambia before joining the war effort in 1977, he has not done any formal work at all since 1960- 2023.
Mr. Mnangagwa is still to respond to other live allegations since they were sounded out at a heated press conference in Harare in 2019 by respected war veterans who exposed him as a johnny come late who gatecrashed into leadership.
Said war veteran, Karen Kazingizi:
“So I want to know these comrades who go around cutting voters’ hands, to find out: are they real comrades, or they are Mugabe’s people he took from Ian Smith’s mercenaries? ….
“The same people he now gives the war vet badge, which soils our image..
“So that’s one other thing we are working on our identity. We are not trying to be these ugly people that the whole nation now thinks we are. Did you ever see us? They put this type of a picture in front of you, of a personality cult who you must worship. The Phillip Chiyangwa type we did not have them at all during the war, the Chiyangwas, they are the richest of them. Can you show me one comrade that you know who went into government in 1980, who was trained like us? Even those who were the seniors, like Muzenda where are they?,” she asked.
Emmerson Mnangagwa is one of them (a male journalist vet quipped in suggesting), to which Kazingizi said,
“Comrade Emmerson came out of prison, according to the history I know; after coming out of prison, he went over to study law, isn’t it?
“After studying law, he was also recruited by Robert Mugabe, to replace those who were fighting the war.
“When the war finished, when Mugabe had ended the war, the people who had elected him to lead them from the Mgagao Declaration, he had chopped them all off, all of them the Gamatox and other factions without number. He kicked all of them out accusing them of betraying the struggle. You know, we don’t want to end up telling the truth, but I think the youth deserve to know the truth.”
Meanwhile, the CIA allegations stem from Mnangagwa’s past business dealings, including a joint venture with a man who was involved in bombings in Mozambique. Additionally, his relationships with white partners who have been accused of exploiting Zimbabwean resources have raised concerns.
While these allegations have not been proven and everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, they do raise important questions about Mnangagwa’s past and his relationships with various groups. It is imperative that these allegations are thoroughly investigated in order to determine the truth.
If Mnangagwa is found to be a double agent, it would represent a betrayal of the trust placed in him by the people of Zimbabwe. As a former hero of the liberation struggle, his alleged involvement with the Rhodesian Front would be particularly distressing for those who fought for Zimbabwe’s independence.
However, if Mnangagwa is found to be innocent, it would be unfair to continue to tarnish his reputation based on unproven allegations. In either case, it is essential that justice is served and that the people of Zimbabwe are able to move forward with leaders who they can trust to work in their best interests.
It is important to remember that allegations such as these can have serious consequences and that they should be treated with the utmost care and attention. In order for Zimbabwe to move forward and continue on its path towards progress, it is necessary for these allegations to be resolved through a fair and transparent process.
Ultimately, the goal should be to ensure that the people of Zimbabwe are able to have confidence in their leaders and that the country can continue to move forward towards a brighter future.

This was said by CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old Harare man has appeared in court on allegations of teaming up with his two accomplices to defraud a drug supplier of pain killer tablets worth US$3000.
Simbarashe Kaminga was facing fraud charges when he appeared before a Harare magistrate.
The State opposed bail on grounds that Kaminga was a flight risk.
The matter was deferred tomorrow for bail ruling.
The court heard that on November 30, 2022 at around mid-day at a hardware store in Msasa, Harare, Kaminga, with his accomplices Daniel Mark Austen and Nyasha Mutasa acted in connivance to defraud the complainant.
Kaminga communicated with complainant’s friend Patience Hanyani over the phone and told her that he had clients who wanted to buy some Pain Eeze tablets.
Hanyani then referred one of the accused to the complainant since she had no money to purchase the Pain Eeze tablets.
On the same day, the complainant, Elenera Chimoyo, in the company of Dorcas Shanhiwa drove to a hardware store in Msasa, Harare whilst carrying 70 boxes x 120 Pain Eeze tablets where they would meet the now accused.
It is the State’s case that upon arrival at the hardware store in Msasa, Chimoyo met Austen, and led her and Shonhiwa to where they had parked their vehicle behind a hardware premises.
The court heard that Austen and Kaminga, who was on the driver’s seat of the silver Mercedes Benz received 70 boxes x 120 Pain Eeze which were put in the boot. Afterwards, accused One got into a white Honda Fit belonging to Mutasa, who was behind the wheel on the pretext that he was getting cash to pay the complainant.
It is alleged that Austen and Mutasa immediately started the vehicle and drove away at high speed.
Kaminga also allegedly drove away at high speed following the white Honda Fit, leaving complainant and her friend stranded.
Later on, the complainant proceeded to ZRP Rhodesville and filed a report.
On January 4, Austen was arrested and he implicated Mutasa. On January 6, both parties were taken to court where Mutasa implicated Kaminga.- state media
Key facts
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, with an estimated 604 000 new cases and 342 000 deaths in 2020.
About 90% of the new cases and deaths worldwide in 2020 occurred in low- and middle-income countries (1).
Two human papillomavirus (HPV) types (16 and 18) are responsible for nearly 50% of high grade cervical pre-cancers
HPV is mainly transmitted through sexual contact and most people are infected with HPV shortly after the onset of sexual activity. More than 90% of them clear the infection eventually.
Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV.
Vaccination against HPV and screening and treatment of pre-cancer lesions is a cost-effective way to prevent cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer can be cured if diagnosed at an early stage and treated promptly.
Comprehensive cervical cancer control includes primary prevention (vaccination against HPV), secondary prevention (screening and treatment of pre-cancerous lesions), tertiary prevention (diagnosis and treatment of invasive cervical cancer) and palliative care.
Overview
Worldwide, cervical cancer is the fourth most frequent cancer in women with an estimated 604 000 new cases in 2020. Of the estimated 342 000 deaths from cervical cancer in 2020, about 90% of these occur in low- and middle-income countries. Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV, and an estimated 5% of all cervical cancer cases are attributable to HIV (2). Moreover, in all world regions the contribution of HIV to cervical cancer falls disproportionately on younger women.
In high-income countries, programmes are in place which enable girls to be vaccinated against HPV and women to get screened regularly and treated adequately. Screening allows pre-cancerous lesions to be identified at stages when they can easily be treated.
In low-and middle-income countries, there is limited access to these preventative measures and cervical cancer is often not identified until it has further advanced and symptoms develop. In addition, access to treatment of cancerous lesions (for example, cancer surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy) may be limited, resulting in a higher rate of death from cervical cancer in these countries.
The high mortality rate from cervical cancer globally (age standardized rate among women: 13.3/100 000 in 2020) could be reduced by effective interventions at different stages of life.
HPV and cervical cancer
A large majority of cervical cancer (more than 95%) is due to the human papillomavirus (HPV).
HPV is the most common viral infection of the reproductive tract. Most sexually active women and men will be infected at some point in their lives, and some may be repeatedly infected. More than 90% of the infected populations eventually clear the infection.
Cervical cancer is by far the most common HPV-related disease. Nearly all cases of cervical cancer can be attributed to HPV infection.
Although most HPV infections clear up on their own and most pre-cancerous lesions resolve spontaneously, there is a risk for all women that HPV infection may become chronic and pre-cancerous lesions progress to invasive cervical cancer.
It takes 15 to 20 years for cervical cancer to develop in women with normal immune systems. It can take only 5 to 10 years in women with weakened immune systems, such as those with untreated HIV infection.
Cervical cancer control: a comprehensive approach
The Global strategy towards eliminating cervical cancer as a public health problem, adopted by the World Health Assembly in 2020, recommends a comprehensive approach to cervical cancer prevention and control. The recommended actions include interventions across the life course.

Econet will tomorrow, 20 April 2023, increase data and SMS bundle tariffs.
The company, without giving figures, revealed the development through a statement posted on Twitter on April 19, 2023.
“Dear Customer, This serves to notify you of the planned changes on our voice, data, and SMS tariffs and bundles prices effective Thursday, 20 April 2023,” read the statement.
The telecommunications giant last increased data and SMS bundles tariff two months ago, in February.
According to the tariff schedule that was effected in February, a daily 10 SMS bundle cost $64.98 up from $51.98, while a weekly 200 SMS bundle was adjusted from $820.07 to $1531.10.
At the same time, prices for application-to-person messaging (A2P), also known as bulk SMS, increased from $2.75 per message to $6.00.
Econet also revised its hourly 1 Gigabyte (GB) bundle to $1 011, from $808.96, with the two hourly 1GB bundle going up to $2 562 from $1 349.68.
The price of Econet’s 8GB Private Wifi bundle was adjusted to $18 557.00, up from $14 845.32. The 15GB Private WiFi bundle, valid for 30 days, was also revised upwards from $26 804.39 to $33 505.50, while the 50GB private WiFi bundle cost $84 351.00, from $67 480.63.-state media
Popular Bulawayo surgeon Dr Kelvin Tendai Kaseke has died.
He was 44.
Dr Kaseke died at Avenues Clinic in Harare, where he was seeking medical treatment, after developing an illness.
United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH), Acting Clinical Director Dr Harrison Rambanapasi, confirmed his passing.
“He passed on at around midnight. He suffered a short illness, he fell ill about two weeks ago and had to seek treatment. He developed an emergency while he was there, where he was bleeding in the head.
“He also was suffering from hypertension, which likely contributed to his condition. It is unfortunate that he failed to respond to treatment and succumbed to the illness,” said Dr Rambanapasi.
Dr Rambanapasi said the medical fraternity had lost a senior and well-versed surgeon.
“He was a senior surgeon at UBH. He held one of the highest offices in the history of Zimbabwe’s medical history. UBH has lost a brilliant surgeon, his family too. He was a loving and responsible man.
“The greatest blow is on the medical fraternity. I personally worked with him and I gained a lot of knowledge and expertise from him. I must say I am truly gutted by his death,” said Dr Rambanapasi.
He said information on funeral and burial proceedings would be announced by the family.-state media
Facing charges of fraud of US$500 000, Moses Ruwona, who was eyeing the Makoni West constituency National Assembly seat, and his accomplice, Macmillan Chiweshe, were yesterday granted bail of $300 000 each by Harare regional magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje.
Mr Mambanje ordered the two to pay $300 000 each, to surrender their passports at the clerk of court, and to report once every Friday at their nearest police stations. The two are facing two counts of fraud and one count of money laundering.
It is alleged that the pair issued fake receipts of payments for the import of WiFi routers and a financial services company that was organising the payment for imports of fabric by a client.
Waltrop (Pvt) Ltd, specialising in commodity broking and represented by director Mr Farai Chikuwa (43), was the first target of the alleged frauds.
Prosecuting, Mr Pardon Dziva said in December last year, Waltrop was awarded a contract by Liquid Telecommunications Holdings of Zimbabwe to supply outdoor wi-fi routers, importing these from Liquid Telecommunication Holdings of Mauritius.
On December 8 last year, Waltrop wanted to pay Liquid of Mauritius for the outdoor WiFi routers.
Ms Chikuwa did so through her brother, Aubrey Chademana who engaged Chiweshe, who undertook to settle the Mauritius payment using his offshore foreign currency account. This was legal.
On the same day, Chiweshe received US$630 400 from Mr Chademana and forwarded it to Ruwona to settle the bill.
Ruwona reportedly provided a fake proof of payment claiming to have transferred the money from his account in Zambia to the Standard Bank account of Liquid of Mauritius. On January 20 and February 3 this year Ruwona and Chiweshe again sent Ms Chikuwa further fake proofs of payment.
On February 15, they sent a proof of payment of US$426 420 and on February 17, they sent a proof of payment of US$203 910.
On March 7, they transferred US$280 332 and US$132 151.24 to Liquid of Mauritius, but failed to account for the remaining US$218 249.
Using the same method, they allegedly defrauded Access Finance of US$256 000 in a deal to import fabric material.
The two companies reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Ruwona and Macmillan two weeks ago.
While Ruwona’s defence team led by Mr Oliver Marwa had sought to characterise the “free funds” arrangement between the complainants and his Tambwari Holdings as money laundering, such transactions are allowed under Statutory Instruments 85 of 2020, and 109 of 1996 which permit individuals and companies to settle obligations using free funds.
In this case, Ruwona was entrusted by Liquid of Zimbabwe and others on the basis of his purported access to such cash earned from his tourism management operations in Victoria Falls and Livingstone, Zambia.
According to the statutory Instruments, the fundamental features of “free funds” include the fact that they are lawfully held by a Zimbabwean, earned in foreign currency, and are not subject to limits and authorisation by exchange control authorities.-state media

ZANU PF Seke District Ward 1 has imploded into several fragments with tens of renegade youths invading and parceling out residential stands belonging to Chinhanga residents and some regularised illegal settlers.
These stands were pegged by Manyame Rural District Council.
A well sophisticated cartel that involves very senior police officers at Chitungwiza Police station and some members of the President’s office at Dema Police station has been sucked in the process.
At the centre of this skirmish is one Courage Gondokondo, a rogue youth rumored to have sold vast tracks of state land in Chinhanga village.
Even his father has applied for a peace order against him.
Gondokondo allegedly gathered hordes of jobless youths intoxicated with Mutoriro and went on a rampage beating up Bona Fide stand owners and stopping any developments.
They claim to have the authority of the aspiring ZANU PF Councilor Tirivangani Chitsvatsva and Dema Presidents office officials as well as the Dispol and officer in-charge of Chitungwiza police station.
In a recent case after their arrest and detention, some party officials aligned to the Chitsvatsva faction allegedly threatened the dispol with unspecified action leading to the release of the culprits.
Even the investigations officers are afraid of going against a directive from their commanders.
In a rather bizarre twist of events Gondokondo teamed up with a number of well-known CCC activists like Martin and Nelson Bhobho, one known as Prosper and gathered for a meeting where they denounced the youth vice chair Neffery Mutizira who has been trying to stop them from degrading the party and stop the invasions.
The meeting was unsanctioned and in a rather show of disrespect of party protocol, Gandokondo is recorded in a video circulating on social media chanting “Pasi naMutizira and Tinashe Mahupeta, the District youth chair.
“They accuse the duo of masterminding their arrest yet it has been discovered that Sabhuku Chinhanga made the report to police.
Manyame Rural District council has tried and failed to control Gondokondo and his collegues.
The police Anti-Corruption Unit is also seized with the matter but no arrest has been made although tens of agreements of sale have been recovered from unsuspecting home-seekers duped by Gondokondo and company.
The ZANU PF Seke District and Provincial leadership is reportedly considering suspending Gondokondo over the matter.

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has described post independent Zimbabwe as characterised by bad governance which rendered the liberation promise empty as the country marks 43 years of sovereignty.
In a statement, CCC national spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said the premised prosperity is yet to be seen as the country is currently riddled with scandals of corruption and human rights violations.
“As election day beckons, we are mindful that the 43-year old bad governance crisis has rendered the Liberation promise empty. Our aspirations for Zimbabwe are yet to be realized,” Mahere said.
“The latest corruption expose betrays a sad pattern of a rich nation being poorly managed and looted by political elites at the expense of the citizens.
“Like every other corruption scandal that has preceded it over the last 43 years, it is an indictment on the liberation dream and the promise of independence. This is not the Zimbabwe that the citizens had hoped for.”
Mahere urged the electorate to exercise their constitutional rights and participate in the coming general elections.
“We urge every citizen to ensure that they perform their civic duty by voting en masse in the coming election for ethical, competent leaders who will usher in a New Great Zimbabwe with dignity, prosperity and freedom for all.”
Mahere said CCC acknowledged the role of liberation fighters and the importance of sacrifices that were made to liberate Zimbabwe.
She added: “As a citizens’ movement, the Citizens’ Coalition for Change acknowledges the effort and sacrifices of the soldiers, war veterans, war collaborators and citizens, living and departed, who contributed to attaining the liberation of our nation from colonial rule.
“We acknowledge and respect all national processes that relate to the history and legacy of Zimbabwe as this is the collective definition of our identity as a people.”
CCC leader bemoaned the continued persecution of opposition members in a free Zimbabwe.
“We salute the gallant citizens who fought for our independence. That independence is yet to come. It’s not yet Uhuru. True Independence, a happy and prosperous Zimbabwe for everyone is definitely coming. All citizens, political prisoners, Job Sikhala, must be free,” Chamisa said on Twitter.
School teachers in Matabeleland say they have been forced to attend what unions feel are Zanu PF indoctrination workshops organised under the partisan #Teachers4ED banner.
The workshops, according to sources, are being facilitated by army officers and Zanu PF officials.
Schools in Insiza district, Matabeleland South were reportedly forced to each provide two teachers while it was also made compulsory for headmasters and their deputies to attend.
The workshop took place at Pangani Training Centre in Filabusi from April 14 to 15.
According to sources, schools were forced to pay an attendance fee of US$25 per teacher while a fee of just US$5 was accepted from those already carrying #Teachers4ED identification cards.
#Teachers4ED, named around President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s initials, is a platform formed by pro-Zanu PF individuals to rally support for the Zimbabwe incumbent’s reelections ambitions.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, one schoolteacher who attended the Filabusi workshop said attendees were taken through Zanu PF ideology and the educators’ role towards organising support for Mnangagwa in elections due not later than August this year.
“We were lectured about party ideology, the Zimbabwe economy, and our role as teachers in the upcoming elections.
“They said we need to influence the general populace to vote for the ruling party.
