Our arrest was followed by the arrest of 14 other innocent citizens, 3 of them with us here at Chikurubhi Maximum Security Prison and the other 11 detained at Harare Remand Prison.
As correctly pointed out by Prof Ibbo Mandaza and 115 others’ petition, our arrest is purely political persecution by a regime afraid of dissent and democratic discourse in the Country.
We are victims of our beliefs, beliefs which we dearly hold, the belief that Zimbabwe must be a free society devoid of callous murders and killings of those holding differing views and opinions.
We are suffering and being persecuted for loving our Country and the downtrodden in our society, with all our hearts and soul.
Beloved Zimbabweans, we dearly love our Country and everyone living in it to the core, Zimbabwe belongs to all of us and we will strive forever for a society of equality and happiness.
Your overwhelming support is echoing here through the walls of Chikurubhi Maximum Security Prison.

Tinashe Sambiri| CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa says the level of political intolerance in Zimbabwe has gone off the mark.
President Chamisa stressed the need for political tolerance, peace and justice in the country.
Zanu PF agents are tormenting suspected CCC members and supporters across the country.
On Wednesday President Chamisa wrote on Twitter:

On September 22nd, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the eighth Anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit at the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa. The event was held under the theme “Building a Culture of Peace as Global Citizens”.
Over 500 participants joined the hybrid event reflecting on the collaborative strides toward sustainable peace in Southern Africa as the global community has yet to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and faces other threats caused by the Russian-Ukraine conflict.
The event opened with a congratulatory address by the City of Cape Town’s Portfolio Committee on Safety and Security chairperson, Councillor Mzwakhe Nqavashe, saying that The City of Cape Town is committed to promoting peace and a society free from constant fear and anxiety. The Councillor said, “To make Cape Town a city where all people can live with less fear of crime and violence requires collective action at scale, where government, the private sector, non-profit organizations such as HWPL, and residents work together to make communities safer”.
Speaking on the introduction of the 12 units of the peace education curriculum in the Cape Town schools, Gadija Samuels of Modderdam High School in Bonteheuwel shared, “The peace education program has empowered my students to be more considerate and self-respecting, which has led them to respect others. Peace education is a wonderful tool that we have received.” Peace education programs have been rolled out in schools worldwide, with children able to learn about peace at a grassroots level.
Event participant Youth Development Coordinator Albert Matthews for the First Community Resource Centre, a youth organization working to interrupt the cycle of gang violence in Hanover Park, shared that what he took away from the event was the importance of discussions around peacebuilding. “Once we’re able to have dialogue and conversation with people and meeting at a common ground, we’ll be able to understand how we can ignite this fire of peace and let it start spreading like wildfire in our communities. Matthews added that community members need to meet each other at a common ground and put their differences aside, understanding that they all want to live in peace and be at peace.
Regarding the importance of peacebuilding at the global level, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL said, “The global village has suffered from the unexpected COVID-19 that has hit every country. People are not alone amid difficulties. We live in the same global village, and we are neighbors and families. Each one of us is the one who is obliged to make our world a better place to live. And shouldn’t we pass on our good world to our descendants?”
Since the 18th of September 2014, the host organization HWPL has called for solidarity for peacebuilding at the global level through collective actions with various actors, including heads of state, ministers, lawmakers, religious leaders, educators, youth and women leaders, and reporters. This annual summit shares peace activities and achievements in cooperation with governments and civil society worldwide.
Tinashe Sambiri|The Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa stunned all and sundry when he lied to the whole world about the situation in Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA on Tuesday, Mr Mnangagwa claimed his administration was determined to promote peace in Zimbabwe.
Back home, Mr Mnangagwa’s administration is tormenting political foes.
Addressing delegates at the UN General Assembly, Mr Mnangagwa said, “We are convinced that democratic systems should give due importance to the full enjoyment of the rights of minorities within our countries, as protected by both domestic and international law.”
He also called upon all Zimbabweans to “jealously guard national sovereignty and independence in the face of divisive neo-colonial forces that seek to derail national development.”
Mr Mnangagwa on Tuesday fled from angry Zimbabweans, who were waiting for him at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
The African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) has called for action against corruption saying the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) should probe the administration of parliament after it gave its nod to a shady US$1,6 million laptop supply deal.
Secretary for Finance and Economic Development, George Guvamatanga, last week revealed that treasury had rejected a tender awarded to a company called Blinart Investments P/L by Parliament for the supply of 173 laptops priced at US$9,200 each, translating to US$1,6 million.
APNAC chairman Temba Mliswa said action must be taken against those involved in the scandal to curb corruption.
“We call upon the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to summon the Administration of Parliament, so that it explains itself on these allegations of corruption. There is no one who is above the law and as such there should be ‘no sacred cows’,” Mliswa said.
“The Zimbabwean Chapter of the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) would like to express its discontentment with the corruption allegations that are being levelled against the Legislature.
“Firstly in the Auditor General’s report and secondly in the botched procurement of the 173 laptops and 79 Desktops through Blinart Investments and Mid-End Computers and Hardware.”

Mliswa also raised questions on the whereabouts of the document that is purported to have cancelled the tender.
“The explanation by Parliament in its so-called press statement does not answer the pertinent question – why was the tender initially awarded to the two blacklisted companies on 26 August 2022 if it was cancelled on 9 August 2022, as Parliament claims in its Press Statement,” said Mliswa.
According to Mliswa, the Finance Ministry is falling short in providing a clear explanation on the scandal which he said might open a can of worms revealing underhand dealings.
“Why did the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development have to write to Parliament on 14 September 2022 blacklisting the two companies and stating that their bids are heavily inflated if Parliament had cancelled the same tender?”
APNAC chairman also bemoaned the rise in cases where government is duped by fraudulent companies.
“As if this is not enough, there are also allegations of failure to carry out due diligence by the current director public relations, one Farai Nicholas Makubaza, at the time he was under the employment of the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, where the said Ministry is said to have been prejudiced in the sum of ZW$32mln by Solution Motors fronted by its Director, one Patrick Siyamwaya,” said Mliswa.
“Siyamwaya was ostensibly cleared by the Chief Magistrate, Faith Mushure, after she ruled that the State had failed to prove its case of fraud against the accused.
“The same magistrate makes interesting comments about the three State witnesses namely, Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana, Nyasha Bwirire and Farai Makubaza. Parliament needs to act on such omissions or commissions which smack of sly underhand dealings, which APNAC is up in arms against.”

Wednesday, the CCC deputy chairman and his counterpart, Godfrey Sithole, clocked 100 days in remand prison.
The two and 14 others were arrested three months ago for demanding justice for the murderers of their party activists Moreblessing Ali in Seke’s Nyatsime area.
Since their arrest in June, the state has been denying them bail.
Sikhala wrote a letter from his Chikurubi prison cell to all Zimbabweans, saying that the struggle for a free Zimbabwe should continue.

The death of a Zimbabwean woman in a Krugersdorp hospital has left a deep scar among Zimbabweans who are desperate to receive health services in South Africa.
Luyanda Moyo, 21, is a Zimbabwean immigrant who visited South African medical centres to give birth but was allegedly met with poor treatment and lack of attention because of her nationality.
Moyo gave birth at the Yusuf Dadoo hospital in Krugersdorp to a baby weighing 4kg.
Despite complaining of pain and excessive bleeding, she alleged that the medical staff in the maternity ward did not pay attention to her.
Luyanda’s uncle, Gibson Tshuma, told “The Star” that she was so neglected to the point of being the last patient in the ward.
“The Star” understands that nurses found Luyanda dead hours after giving birth.
Luyanda Moyo, 21, is a Zimbabwean immigrant who visited South African medical centres to give birth
She was in so much pain that she apparently told nurses that she would rather die than bare the pain she was in.
Her family is calling for an investigation into her death.
Tshuma said the family was concerned that the statements uttered by Limpopo Health MEC, Phophi Rmathuba, could have caused the staff at the hospital to have a negative attitude towards illegal Zimbabwean seeking medical attention in parts of South Africa.
Tshuma said when they found Luyanda’s body in the hospital her clothes were covered in blood.
The hospital failed to explain what happened to Luyanda.
“Based on the messages on her cellphone she was overdue and she was given an inducing pill even though they acknowledged that the baby was too big for her to deliver naturally,” Tshuma said.
“The Star” listened to some voice notes that Luyanda shared with her mother before she died.
In some of them the young woman was describing the unbearable pain she was in to his mother.
“It’s so painful… they haven’t checked on me, I think they will come today,” Luyanda said in a voice note to her mother.
Luyanda’s baby boy survived and is with his grandmother but the family said it was still left with a million questions concerning how Luyanda died.
“We are demanding answers as to what happened, we are not getting clear answers.
“They induced her even when they had observed an operation was necessary and then she was ignored when she was bleeding to death,” Tshuma said.
The family is preparing for Luyanda’s body to be transported back to Zimbabwe where her funeral will take place.
The family said it was concerned that if ordinary South Africans suffered poor service at hospital, the situations was worse for foreign nationals.
The Gauteng Department of Health did not respond to “The Star” questions by late afternoon yesterday.

Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec)’s Grade Seven final examinations due to start on Monday could be plunged into chaos as teachers have threatened to down tools on the day to protest poor pay and working conditions.
Government increased the United States dollar component of civil servants’ salaries by US$25 — raising their foreign currency earnings to US$200 from US$175, but the employees have rejected the offer, insisting on the pre-October 2018 salary of US$540 for an average government worker.
Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Obert Musaraure said unions had agreed to down tools from Monday to pressure government to meet their demands.
“The amount itself is too little. If you look at the cost of living in Zimbabwe, statistics are showing that Zimbabwe food prices are on the rise and our cost of living is over 50% compared to that of South Africa and if you look at the income of a teacher, it is below 10% of the income of a teacher in South Africa,” Masaraure said.
Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Takavafira Zhou said government was taking civil servants for granted.
“The increment is nothing as the current salary of civil servants still falls short of the minimum salary that teachers were getting in 2018. It’s an insult, it is insignificant and does not address our concerns as teachers are still incapacitated,” he said.
But Primary and Secondary Education ministry spokesperson Taungana Ndoro ruled out the strike threat, saying it was “all systems go”.
“We are very sure that almost 100% of our teachers are coming to school and examination classes are raring to go. Teachers are even competing to outdo each other for good pass rates and that competition is needed for good pass rates,” Ndoro said.
“We are raring to go for the Grade Seven examinations and we are ready. Those who are saying they are going to strike are quite an insignificant number and we are not aware of the teachers who are going on strike.”
Civil servants last week gave their employer a 10-day ultimatum to increase their salaries or face a crippling strike.
Early this year, government suspended hundreds of teachers and docked their salaries after they went on strike.
Government says it will continue implementing a no-work, no-pay policy in what unions have said is an intimidatory tactic.
In a related matter, Zimbabwe Nurses Association president Enock Dongo said there was urgent need for a lasting solution to workers’ grievances.
“Government should find a lasting solution to salaries and not these piece meals, it will not work. This (protracted wage negotiations) is disrupting production. We need to be productive not to waste time in meetings for salaries or on the streets with the government,” he said.

By- The President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, said it was false that foreign nationals were committing the bulk of crimes in South Africa.
Mbeki told a conversation meeting with students and diplomats in Pretoria that it was wrong to paint all foreign nationals with the same brush.
The former President said crime had no nationality, and if foreigners commit crimes in South Africa, they must be arrested and deported.
Said Mbeki:
We need to walk away from the false notion that the bulk of crime in this country is caused by foreigners. It is not correct.
The bulk of crime in this country is caused is committed by South Africans. There are foreigners who commit crimes.
You should arrest them and charge them. This is what we should do and avoid labelling other people.
He reminded South Africans that several African countries assisted South Africa in attaining its independence.
He said:
The African continent has felt, for a very long time, very, very close to this country, that it has its own responsibility to assist in the liberation of the people of South Africa.
You take a country like Mozambique just across our border, which lost thousands and thousands of people killed because it was refusing to walk away from the support here. The same thing happened in Angola.
By- At Least 200 foreign nationals have fleed South Africa’s Chavani Village near Elim, after the brutal killing of three Zimbabweans by locals on Saturday.
According to reports by GroundUp, the killed three Zimbabweans had been accused of stealing cables and solar panels.
Following the attack, about 200 immigrants fled their homes into the bush or other villages. Some were forced out of their houses by vigilante groups.
Makhado police spokesperson Sergeant Tshifhiwa Irene Radzilani said the three Zimbabweans “were burnt beyond recognition”.
Police have opened murder cases but no arrests have been made.
Malume Chinabwa, from the Kagisano (seTswana for living together harmoniously) programme, run by the Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) in Elim and Musina said:
Since Saturday more than 200 foreigners – Zimbabweans, Mozambicans and Malawians – have been calling me for assistance.
During the day, they try to visit townships where they are not known, in search of food but spend the night in bushes.
Elim resident Francis Thiba told GroundUp that at about 6 PM on Saturday a group of youths, including women, came to his residence.
He said his wife and three children were ordered to leave and they fled to the bush. Police later rescued them the same day.
Thiba was beaten on the head and in the face before he was rescued by Waterval police at about 7 PM who took him to Elim hospital.
He was discharged on Tuesday and joined his family at Waterval police station, where they had sheltered for three days.
Thiba, who has been living in Shirley village, Elim, for over ten years, has been in South Africa since 2000.
He said they are prepared to leave for Zimbabwe, but he has no money for transport.

By- South Africa’s Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, said police were allowed to spot-check foreigners and ascertain their legal status in the country.
Motsoaledi was briefing the home affairs portfolio committee on the backlog in permit appeals for asylum seekers and refugees. He said:
Police have the right to stop and ask about documentation. It doesn’t have to be production or physical documentation like during apartheid days, meaning you are not forced to carry documents in your pockets everywhere you go.
He said documents would be checked against the national population register.
Said Motsoaledi:
It’s something that can be done on the spot, and it will be a pity if somebody has to be arrested because we have to do a manual check.
The Minister also revealed that four refugee centres in Durban, Pretoria, Gqeberha and Musina had been reopened after a two-year closure due to COVID-19.
The Cape Town refugee office is set to be reopened by the end of September.
On the possible reason why only 4 000 out of 178 000 Zimbabwean exemption permits (ZEP) holders had applied for visas to legalise their stay in SA, Motsoaledi said:
I wouldn’t say they’re showing us the middle finger. I’d say they have been convinced by these court cases that they shouldn’t bother [applying] because they believe this matter is going to be thrown out by the courts.

A MARRIED man, who stays at the Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison Camp, has fled from home after allegedly rap_ing his daughter.
The man (whose identity cannot not be revealed for professional reasons) is on the run after the victim lodged a police report against him.
The suspected rap_ist has been staying in the camp with his wife, who is a correctional officer.
Harare Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case saying the victim has since been referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical examination.
“Police are investigating a case involving a man reported to have rap_ed his 18-year-old daughter at a prison camp in Chikurubi,” said Insp Chakanza.
“Circumstances were that the complainant was asleep in the spare bedroom when the accused got into her room wearing a short but without a shirt.
“The accused was reported to have signalled to the complainant to keep quiet upon entering her room. She tried to scream but the accused closed her mouth using his other hand.- H-Metro
CCC deputy chairman, Job Sikhala, and his counterpart, Godfrey Sithole, Wednesday clocked 100 days in remand prison.
The two and 14 others were arrested three months ago for demanding justice for the murderers of their party activists Moreblessing Ali in Seke’s Nyatsime area.
Since their arrest in June, the state has been denying them bail.
Sikhala wrote a letter from his Chikurubi prison cell to all Zimbabweans, saying that the struggle for a free Zimbabwe should continue.

The African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) has called for action against corruption saying the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) should probe the administration of parliament after it gave its nod to a shady US$1,6 million laptop supply deal.
Secretary for Finance and Economic Development, George Guvamatanga, last week revealed that treasury had rejected a tender awarded to a company called Blinart Investments P/L by Parliament for the supply of 173 laptops priced at US$9,200 each, translating to US$1,6 million.
APNAC chairman Temba Mliswa said action must be taken against those involved in the scandal to curb corruption.
“We call upon the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to summon the Administration of Parliament, so that it explains itself on these allegations of corruption. There is no one who is above the law and as such there should be ‘no sacred cows’,” Mliswa said.
“The Zimbabwean Chapter of the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) would like to express its discontentment with the corruption allegations that are being levelled against the Legislature.
“Firstly in the Auditor General’s report and secondly in the botched procurement of the 173 laptops and 79 Desktops through Blinart Investments and Mid-End Computers and Hardware.”

Mliswa also raised questions on the whereabouts of the document that is purported to have cancelled the tender.
“The explanation by Parliament in its so-called press statement does not answer the pertinent question – why was the tender initially awarded to the two blacklisted companies on 26 August 2022 if it was cancelled on 9 August 2022, as Parliament claims in its Press Statement,” said Mliswa.
According to Mliswa, the Finance Ministry is falling short in providing a clear explanation on the scandal which he said might open a can of worms revealing underhand dealings.
“Why did the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development have to write to Parliament on 14 September 2022 blacklisting the two companies and stating that their bids are heavily inflated if Parliament had cancelled the same tender?”
APNAC chairman also bemoaned the rise in cases where government is duped by fraudulent companies.
“As if this is not enough, there are also allegations of failure to carry out due diligence by the current director public relations, one Farai Nicholas Makubaza, at the time he was under the employment of the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, where the said Ministry is said to have been prejudiced in the sum of ZW$32mln by Solution Motors fronted by its Director, one Patrick Siyamwaya,” said Mliswa.
“Siyamwaya was ostensibly cleared by the Chief Magistrate, Faith Mushure, after she ruled that the State had failed to prove its case of fraud against the accused.
“The same magistrate makes interesting comments about the three State witnesses namely, Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana, Nyasha Bwirire and Farai Makubaza. Parliament needs to act on such omissions or commissions which smack of sly underhand dealings, which APNAC is up in arms against.”

Another 23-year-old robber has escaped from lawful custody in Gweru where he was serving a 48-month jail term for plain robbery.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, Peter Sigauke who escaped on Monday.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed.
“Police in Gweru are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Peter Sigauke aged 23 in connection with a case of escaping from prison in Lalapanzi on September 19, 2022. The suspect was serving 48 months’ imprisonment for plain robbery.

On Tuesday, a 22-year-old housebreaker escaped from lawful custody at Mutoko Prison while serving a 14-month jail term.
Tinashe Rupiya had been arrested for a case of unlawful entry into premises before he was convicted and sentenced in Mutoko before he escaped yesterday.
Police have since launched a manhunt for Rupiya whose whereabouts are still not known.
“Police in Mutoko are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Tinashe Rupiya aged 22 in connection with escaping from lawful custody at a prison in Mutoko on September 20, 2022.
“The suspect was serving a 14-month sentence for a case of unlawful entry into premises. Govt has come up with an online inputs distribution system specifically designed to prevent the abuse of the agricultural inputs under the Presidential Inputs Scheme ahead of the 2022/23 summer cropping season.
In the past, there have been reports of inputs abuse allegedly by some officials in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural Development. In some cases, the officers deliberately omit names of qualifying farmers, excluding them from benefiting from Government’s Pfumvudza Input scheme.
In June, President Mnangagwa fired Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural Development Deputy Minister Douglas Karoro following his arrest on charges of misconduct after he allegedly defrauded the Presidential Inputs Scheme of US$73 300 worth of inputs.
Several cases of inputs abuse are widespread and, in some cases, individuals have been nabbed for channelling inputs to the market.
Some beneficiaries of the programmes have also been selling the inputs, such as fertilisers, while others diverted them towards production of commodities outside the contracts.
In terms of Statutory Instrument 274 of 2018, it is a criminal offence to be found in possession of any agricultural inputs in excess of what the farmers need, unlawful sale, purchase and possession of agricultural produce or contracted crop and the misuse of farm inputs.
In an interview yesterday, Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Dr John Basera said the online distribution application will address the abuse of inputs.
“In previous seasons, some agricultural extension officers were fingered in this scam of abusing inputs. In light of that, the ministry has come up with a raft of measures, which include an online input distribution application developed to monitor the distribution,” he said.
Dr Basera said all farmers will be registered and a verifiable online register will trace accountability.
He said the ministry will be taking Global Positioning System (GPS) co-ordinates where work is being done. Reports will then be produced online and verified at every stage of inputs distribution through their head office.
Dr Basera said apart from online distribution surveillance, the Government had established inputs distribution committees at community level to enhance transparency.
“Pursuant to the whole of Government approach, input distribution committees comprising local leadership, political leadership, security agencies, other ministries, departments and agencies have been set to enhance transparency and accountability,” he said.
“The other fundamental strategy is to ensure that inputs are only distributed to beneficiary households who would have adopted the key principles of conservation agriculture namely holing out, applying manure between June and August and mulching accumulation by September each year.”
The Government is targeting 3,5 million households countrywide to receive inputs for the 2022/23 farming season under the Climate-Proofed Presidential Inputs Scheme, popularly known as Intwasa/Pfumvudza.
Government is targeting to produce three million tonnes of maize during the 2022/23 summer cropping season, with land preparation already underway.
This comes as the Second Republic has made food security a top priority and is working towards a US$8,2 billion agriculture industry economy, contributing 20 percent of GDP by 2025, underpinned by the country’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) — the driver towards Vision 2030 to make Zimbabwe an upper middle-class economy.
The country requires 2,2 million tonnes of maize for human and livestock consumption and the three million tonnes target will position Zimbabwe as a significant player in grain production in the region.
Intwasa is a concept aimed at climate proofing agriculture by adopting conservation farming techniques and involves use of small plots and applying the correct agronomic practices for higher returns.
Under the programme, each farming household will get an input package comprising 10kg maize seed, 5kg sorghum, 2kg pearl millet, 5kg soya beans, 2kg sunflower/castor beans (castor bean will be inter-cropped in the Intwasa crops) and 5kg sugar beans or 5kg cowpeas or roundnuts. Tinashe Sambiri|The Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa stunned all and sundry when he lied to the whole world about the situation in Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA on Tuesday, Mr Mnangagwa claimed his administration was determined to promote peace in Zimbabwe.
Back home, Mr Mnangagwa’s administration is tormenting political foes.
Addressing delegates at the UN General Assembly, Mr Mnangagwa said, “We are convinced that democratic systems should give due importance to the full enjoyment of the rights of minorities within our countries, as protected by both domestic and international law.”
He also called upon all Zimbabweans to “jealously guard national sovereignty and independence in the face of divisive neo-colonial forces that seek to derail national development.”
Mr Mnangagwa on Tuesday fled from angry Zimbabweans, who were waiting for him at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

Writing on Twitter, Mugwadi feebly attempted to blame NGOs for “causing chaos in the country.”
Mugwadi is yet to comment on the flagrant violation of human rights by Zanu PF.
The controversial Zanu PF man said “NGOs must go hang.”
He argued : “NGOs must go hang! I have never seen a product inscribed ‘made by Ngos’ or ‘made by Crisis Coalition’.
I have however seen violent products from such NGOs.
I have seen SUV cars driven by NGO-CSO corrupt cabals. Those who fund NGOs have their economy developed by Capital not ngos
The Constitution of Zimbabwe and relevant statutory provisions allows NGOs and CSOs to exist freely. that is why I never said they are illegal. My point is they are useless & corrupt for purposes of development!! If I am lying, show us their product besides organising violence?”

We must give our people in rural areas title to their ancestral land. Thus we propose to reform the Communal Lands Act in particular Section 4 and make sure that our people in communal areas have bankable title to their land.
The regime is parcelling out and displacing our people from their land. It is doing so in Chipinge, Dinde, Chilonga and in other parts of rural Zimbabwe. A CCC government will never displace any Zimbabwean from their land.
The CCC government intends to support farmers, employ new technologies and finance agriculture.
Our government will invest in communal land activities like agriculture and tourism so as to create a robust rural economy that is job absorbtive and economic growth driven.
AT least five vehicles which were parked at a car park in Dangamvura near Matongo Shopping Centre were reduced to shells this afternoon after a veld fire engulfed the parking lot.
The Mutare Fire Brigade Department quickly rushed to the scene and doused the flames, saving several other cars that could have been burnt.
A witness said a farmer who was preparing a field near the car park started a fire which quickly turned into huge flames due to the current windy conditions.
“In the absence of a fireguard and the tall dry grass at the car park, the fire grew quickly and burnt the cars,” said Mr Talkmore Baradza.
Veld fires are burning huge tracts of grasslands in Manicaland and the Environmental Management Agency is embarking on province-wide awareness campaigns against veld fires.
Police confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.
By-Over 200 foreign nationals are in hiding after the burning to death of three Zimbabweans in Chavani Village outside Elim by South Africans on Saturday.
According to reports by GroundUp, the three Zimbabweans had been accused of stealing cables and solar panels.
Following the attack, about 200 immigrants fled their homes into the bush or other villages. Some were forced out of their houses by vigilante groups.
Makhado police spokesperson Sergeant Tshifhiwa Irene Radzilani said the three Zimbabweans “were burnt beyond recognition”.
Police have opened murder cases but no arrests have been made.
Malume Chinabwa, from the Kagisano (seTswana for living together harmoniously) programme, run by the Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) in Elim and Musina said:
Since Saturday more than 200 foreigners – Zimbabweans, Mozambicans and Malawians – have been calling me for assistance.
During the day, they try to visit townships where they are not known, in search of food but spend the night in bushes.
Elim resident Francis Thiba told GroundUp that at about 6 PM on Saturday a group of youths, including women, came to his residence.
He said his wife and three children were ordered to leave and they fled to the bush. Police later rescued them the same day.
Thiba was beaten on the head and in the face before he was rescued by Waterval police at about 7 PM who took him to Elim hospital.
He was discharged on Tuesday and joined his family at Waterval police station, where they had sheltered for three days.
Thiba, who has been living in Shirley village, Elim, for over ten years, has been in South Africa since 2000.
He said they are prepared to leave for Zimbabwe, but he has no money for transport.

By- South Africa’s Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, said police were allowed to stop foreigners and demand their passports to ascertain their legal status in the country.
Motsoaledi was briefing the home affairs portfolio committee on the backlog in permit appeals for asylum seekers and refugees. He said:
Police have the right to stop and ask about documentation. It doesn’t have to be production or physical documentation like during apartheid days, meaning you are not forced to carry documents in your pockets everywhere you go.
He said documents would be checked against the national population register.
Said Motsoaledi:
It’s something that can be done on the spot, and it will be a pity if somebody has to be arrested because we have to do a manual check.
The Minister also revealed that four refugee centres in Durban, Pretoria, Gqeberha and Musina had been reopened after a two-year closure due to COVID-19.
The Cape Town refugee office is set to be reopened by the end of September.
On the possible reason why only 4 000 out of 178 000 Zimbabwean exemption permits (ZEP) holders had applied for visas to legalise their stay in SA, Motsoaledi said:
I wouldn’t say they’re showing us the middle finger. I’d say they have been convinced by these court cases that they shouldn’t bother [applying] because they believe this matter is going to be thrown out by the courts.

Some dress restrictions include wearing shorts for both male and female students.

Thus, students are required to observe the appropriate manner of dress and appearance while attending classes or engaging in other academic pursuits on or off-campus. Therefore, the following, though not exhaustive, would be considered as inappropriate dress and/or appearance: Clothing with derogatory, offensive and/or obscene messages either in words or pictures Political regalia. Male students’ undershirts (I.e. vests, singiets). Male and female students’ pants that expose or show underwear/undergarments or skin. This includes, but is not llmited to sagging and ripped jeans. Pairs of shorts for female and male students. By- Reports from New York suggest President Emmerson Mnangagwa evaded a group of angry Zimbabweans ambushing him at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Mnangagwa is in the United States for the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Opposition People’s Patriotic Party (PPP) leader, Zvaringeni Samuel Chasi, told NewZimbabwe.com that Mnangagwa had a human shield of an estimated 225 aides to stave off the protestors.
Chasi said about 34 Zimbabweans had planned to embarrass the ZANU PF leader upon his arrival, but he used a different exit from the one he was supposed to use where the protestors were waiting for him. Said Chasi:
We were about 34 people, local Zimbabweans and around 80 who joined online in solidarity. We are going to UNGA and his residency.
The citizens have vowed they are going to do a citizen arrest on him. Everyone is going to be down on the ground here today and tomorrow. We are not going to stop. He might not go back to Zimbabwe. He is in trouble.
The picketing was successfully done although he used a different exit from the one he was supposed to use.
He arrived two hours earlier, he arrived nicodemously. It is said he had security personnel of about 225 people.
The protests are not yet over. Everyone is on him. He is on the run.
The protestors want to put pressure on the international community to intervene and arrest Mnangagwa for alleged gross human rights violations, including rape, mass genocides, torture and abductions.
Mnangagwa is currently in New York for the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting where he is expected to address other Heads of State.

France’s Nations League Cup and World Cup preparations have been thrown into chaos after an image rights disagreement between the French FA (FFF) and star player Kylian Mbappe saw one of the national team sponsors threatening to cancel the sponsorship deal.
Mbappe refused to take part in a KFC promotional photoshoot with the national team squad in protest against what he feels is unfair image rights standards for Les Bleus players.
The France team are preparing for two Nations League fixtures against Austria and Denmark over the next days.
“Mbappe decided not to take part in the planned photo session after the refusal of the Federation to modify the convention of image rights of players,” read a statement by the forward’s representatives. “He and his representatives deeply regret that no agreement could, as requested, be found before the World Cup.”
An emergency meeting between FFF president Noel Le Graet, Mbappe, team captains – Raphael Varane, Hugo Lloris – and coach Didier Deschamps was called, and the parties ironed out the issue.
But while the solution was seemingly found, KFC has threatened to cancel their sponsorship deal.
“The French Football Federation needs money and KFC agrees to pay to have an image of what we are paying for. He (Mbappe) is committed with the Federation to produce a collective image with each time at least four other players. We’re going to stop paying and then that’s it,” Alain Beral, vice-president of KFC France, told Sport Business Club, as cited by Goal.com.
“We are going to follow this very closely because there is no question of having signed a contract which is not respected.”

Whenever we look at the issue of suffering, the question comes: How did sin and suffering first arise? Through divine revela-tion we have good answers: they arose because free beings abused the freedom God had given them. This leads to another question: Did God know beforehand that these beings would fall? Yes, but obviously He thought it was, as C. S. Lewis wrote, “worth the risk Worth the risk? For whom? For us, while God sits in heaven on His throne? Not exactly. The freedom of all His intelligent creatures was so sacred that, rather than deny us freedom, God chose to bear in Himself the brunt of the suffering caused by our abuse of that freedom. And we see this suffering in the life and death of Jesus, who, through suffering in our flesh, has created bonds between heaven and earth that will last throughout eternity.
SABBATH: From His head, hands, & feet was a fountain of blood that flowed through Jesus’ veins, at the cross. When we survey the agony of Christ, we can’t stop thinking; how did sin & suffering first arise? The Bible tells us that the abuse of free will led to sin. Did God know that there’ll be a fall? Yes, but He loves us so much that He chose not to make us robots but to bear the grief of sin through Christ.
SUNDAY: The Bible was silent on the early life of Christ. What we know is that “He grew in wisdom & stature” & lived in poverty. He was the Son of God & any place would have received Him but He chose to dwell among the poor (John 1:46). He wants the poor to know that He know their trials (Luke 2:7, 22-24, Lev. 12:6-8, Matt. 2:1-18). Daily, He was grieved by sin but He did not sin. To Him, sin was a torture.
MONDAY: Is not this the son of Mary; the carpenter’s son? Men quizzed as Jesus tried to help by teachings & miracles. His own did not receive Him. He was rejected & despised by men, just like a defiant son gets angry at a parent who’ll do anything for him. Christ gave His all to save us (Matt. 12:22-24; Luke 4:21-30; John 8:58, 59). He was hurt by the results of their rebuff (Matt. 23:37, 3 SM, p. 129).
TUESDAY: The final hours of Jesus before His atoning death climaxed His sufferings on earth. His task on earth was planned & at 33 years, it was about to be fulfilled. His agony in Gethsemane was so great that He could not bear His disciples to witness it. He was being separated from His Father (Matt. 26:39, Mark 14:33-36, Luke 22:41-44). But He did not use His divine power to escape (Zech. 13:7, DA, p. 686).
WEDNESDAY: Curse was anyone hung on a tree in Jesus’ time. The harshest injury the Romans could inflict on anyone was death by crucifixion. That was how the Son of God died! He was beaten, spat at, & hammered. This was a harsh treatment even for the worst of criminals. Yet, Christ was innocent. God’s wrath against our sin was poured on Christ (Matt. 27:45, 51, 52, Mark 15:38). He suffered!
THURSDAY: As the world treated Christ, so will it treat us. As long as we’re here, we’ll suffer. The Bible does not promise an absence of pain but the presence of God’s love amid pain. Christ suffered more than any of us could suffer. He suffered for us all (Acts 14:22, Phil. 1:29, 2 Tim. 3:12, Isa. 53:4, 11, 2 Cor. 5:21). Thanks to Him, our pain shall turn into joy (John 10:28, Rom. 6:23, Titus 1:2, 1 John 2:25).
FRIDAY: As Christ cling to the cold ground in Gethsemane & drops of blood came from His pores, He felt pity for man. He saw the power of sin & the helplessness of man. He was willing to save man at any cost to Himself. From His pale lips came the bitter cry; “if this cup may not pass away from Me, except I drink it, Thy will be done.” He lefts the courts of heaven, with its joys to a fallen world to die for man.

Acknowledging this substantial burden and recognizing the complexity of medication-related harm prevention and reduction, “Medication Safety” has been selected as the theme for World Patient Safety Day 2022.
The campaign is envisaged to provide the needed impetus to consolidate the efforts of the existing WHO Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm, emphasizing the need to adopt a systems approach and promote safe medication practices to prevent medication errors and reduce medication-related harm. Zimbabwe Union of Journalists ( ZUJ) president, Mr George Maponga, has been served with papers challenging him to stop the provincial congress scheduled for Friday 23 September.
Chiredzi based journalist Morris Bishi and other scribes in Masvingo lodged a complaint through their legal advisors, Ruvengo Maboke and Company citing irregularities in the whole process of conducting the provincial congress.
Accordin to Bishi and others, the constitutional provisions which stipulates that a notice of 30 days should be given before such a congress is held was clearly violated by the ZUJ leadership.
Part of the letter reads:
” We are advised that you sent a letter on WhatsApp group ( news roundup) of journalists who operate in Masvingo wherein you advised members about your intention to conduct an elective congress on September 23 2022 in the afternoon. We have been advised that the said WhatsApp message was sent on the 16th of September…”

We will never take away land from our people, not even a square inch will be expropriated from the rural folk.
We must give our people in rural areas title to their ancestral land. Thus we propose to reform the Communal Lands Act in particular Section 4 and make sure that our people in communal areas have bankable title to their land.
The regime is parcelling out and displacing our people from their land. It is doing so in Chipinge, Dinde, Chilonga and in other parts of rural Zimbabwe. A CCC government will never displace any Zimbabwean from their land.
The CCC government intends to support farmers, employ new technologies and finance agriculture.
Our government will invest in communal land activities like agriculture and tourism so as to create a robust rural economy that is job absorbtive and economic growth driven.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA on Tuesday, Mr Mnangagwa claimed his administration was determined to promote peace in Zimbabwe.
Back home, Mr Mnangagwa’s administration is tormenting political foes.
Addressing delegates at the UN General Assembly, Mr Mnangagwa said, “We are convinced that democratic systems should give due importance to the full enjoyment of the rights of minorities within our countries, as protected by both domestic and international law.”
He also called upon all Zimbabweans to “jealously guard national sovereignty and independence in the face of divisive neo-colonial forces that seek to derail national development.”
Mr Mnangagwa on Tuesday fled from angry Zimbabweans, who were waiting for him at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
Tinashe Sambiri|Big-headed Zanu PF director of information, Tafadzwa Mugwadi, has accused Non Governmental Organisations ( NGOs) of sponsoring acts of violence in the country.
Writing on Twitter, Mugwadi feebly attempted to blame NGOs for “causing chaos in the country.”

By A Correspondent- A CCC member in Kadoma, Mashonaland West Province, Emmanuel Manguda has been arrested on allegations of insulting President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Manguda, an interim CCC Kadoma district secretary, allegedly posted an image deemed derogatory to Mnangagwa.
He is being charged for contravening section 164B of the Cyber and Data Protection Act for cyberbullying and harassment.
According to the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), Manguda posted a picture of a cockroach bearing the head of the President in May.
He is yet to appear in court.
If found guilty, Manguda faces up to 10 years in jail, a fine or both.
Section 164B of the Act says anyone who posts a message, picture or material with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, threaten, bully or cause substantial emotional distress, or to degrade, humiliate or demean any other person shall be guilty of an offence.

By A Correspondent- Federations representing civil servants in Zimbabwe have threatened to call for a strike starting Monday next week if government does not fulfil its promises to review wages.
The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ), Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) and the Federation of Zimbabwe Educators Union (FOZEU) gave their employer up to September 26 to fulfil their promise.
If government fails, all civil servants will completely withdraw their labour,” said FOZEU in a statement.
The union made the statement few days before civil servants and government representatives met in Harare Tuesday under the National Joint Negotiating Council (NJNC) to carry on with wage talks.
During the talks, government increased the US dollar wage component by US$25 starting September 1, 2022.
This means that civil servants will now be getting US$200 as the foreign currency component, up from US$175 that they have been getting.
The money comprises an unaltered US$75 a month in Covid-19 allowance plus, now, US$125 a month as the standard US dollar portion, up from US$100.
The local currency component of government workers’ wages remains static.
Government also stated its commitment to paying the annual bonus to all its workers.
However, the increase has since been dismissed as a joke by unions which feel the amount does not do anything to ameliorate their plight in a volatile economic situation characterised by unstable prices of goods and services.
Said ARTUZ: “The imminent 26 September action has shaken the arrogant employer.
“We note attempts to resurrect the defunct NJNC in a desperate bid to pacify workers.
“Government must fulfil the September salary review pledge or face the wrath of the workers on 26 September. No to pity parties.”
FOZEU also dismissed NJNC.
“We have no appetite for the talk shows being organised in the name of the discredited & illegal NJNC. 26 September we engage in a collective job action if government fails to pay a living wage. We are fed up with endless talks.”
ARTUZ urged their members to be patient and join the collective action.
Public Service minister Paul Mavima says government was committed to improving the welfare of its workers.
By- Reports from New York suggest that President Emmerson Mnangagwa has run away from a group of angry Zimbabweans waiting for him at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Mnangagwa is in the United States for the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Opposition People’s Patriotic Party (PPP) leader, Zvaringeni Samuel Chasi, told NewZimbabwe.com that Mnangagwa had a human shield of an estimated 225 aides to stave off the protestors.
Chasi said about 34 Zimbabweans had planned to embarrass the ZANU PF leader upon his arrival, but he used a different exit from the one he was supposed to use where the protestors were waiting for him. Said Chasi:
We were about 34 people, local Zimbabweans and around 80 who joined online in solidarity. We are going to UNGA and his residency.
The citizens have vowed they are going to do a citizen arrest on him. Everyone is going to be down on the ground here today and tomorrow. We are not going to stop. He might not go back to Zimbabwe. He is in trouble.
The picketing was successfully done although he used a different exit from the one he was supposed to use.
He arrived two hours earlier, he arrived nicodemously. It is said he had security personnel of about 225 people.
The protests are not yet over. Everyone is on him. He is on the run.
The protestors want to put pressure on the international community to intervene and arrest Mnangagwa for alleged gross human rights violations, including rape, mass genocides, torture and abductions.
Mnangagwa is currently in New York for the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting where he is expected to address other Heads of State.

Therefore, the following, though not exhaustive, would be considered as inappropriate dress and/or appearance: Clothing with derogatory, offensive and/or obscene messages either in words or pictures Political regalia. Male students’ undershirts (I.e. vests, singiets). Male and female students’ pants that expose or show underwear/undergarments or skin. This includes, but is not llmited to sagging and ripped jeans. Pairs of shorts for female and male students. The Reuters news agency reports saying EU ministers agree on new Russia sanctions, more weapons to Ukraine.
Ministers agreed to draw up an 8th package targeting more relevant sectors of the Russian economy and people responsible for the war in Ukraine, top EU diplomat, Josep Borrell said.
The ministers also agreed to increase weapons supplies to Ukraine. The package could be formalized in October when the ministers meet next.
Said Borrell in a press conference: Today, the [Foreign Affairs] Ministers have – all of them – resolved to continue helping Ukraine to defend itself. And we will continue using the European Peace Facility to finance weapons deliveries successfully and effectively. We have also continued discussing the proposal to establish a European Union Military Assistance Mission. I can say that the work is underway, and I hope that we will see concrete results soon.
Let me use this opportunity finally to talk about the situation around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Russia must cease the occupation immediately. We support the establishment of a nuclear safety and security protection zone, as [IAEA Director General] Dr Grossi proposed in his report following the visit. I want also to use this opportunity to draw attention to the two OSCE staff members of the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine who have been sentenced to 13 years in prison as a result of a so-called legal proceeding in Luhansk. They need to be unconditionally released immediately.
Finally, this week, we will be looking closely at the issue of accountability, because the reports on war crimes in Ukraine continue building up. These atrocities cannot happen without those responsible being [held] accountable. We will continue supporting Ukraine in this regard, through the Joint Investigation Teams, supporting the International Criminal Court and [through] the EU Assistance Mission to Ukraine.
I hope that this week will be a week of very intensive work, and at the end we will be closer to solving some of the existing challenges.

By- The opposition MDC-T has announced every position, including the Presidency, will be contested at the party’s elective congress.
According to his party, they are conducting a restructuring exercise in preparation for the elective congress.
The congress is due before the end of the year.
Key positions to be contested include that of the party president, currently occupied by Mwonzora, vice president, and organising secretary, among others.
MDC-T national spokesperson Witness Dube, said that the date for the ordinary congress depends on the completion of provincial structures and the availability of funds for the national congress. He added:
The structures have to be adopted by the national council, automatically giving the president the mandate to call for a national election after 30 days.
We are about 70 per cent complete and we don’t declare a date until everything is complete, that is structures are tabled and adopted by the national council.

By- Chinhoyi Central Police Law and Order Department, on Wednesday quizzed CCC spokesperson over the party’s statements following an explosion at their rally two weeks ago.
In a post on her Twitter page on Wednesday evening, Mahere, accompanied by her lawyers when she presented herself to the CID officers, said she was questioned by the investigating officers and released. said Mahere: Attended at CID Law & Order Mash West in Chinhoyi. I was questioned in connection with the statements we issued concerning the rally explosive incident. I gave the investigating officers the information & clarification they requested, and I have been excused.
There was an explosion at Gadzema Grounds in Chinhoyi during a CCC Thank You Rally. The explosion occurred just as the party leader Nelson Chamisa’s motorcade entered the venue.
AT least five vehicles which were parked at a car park in Dangamvura near Matongo Shopping Centre were reduced to shells this afternoon after a veld fire engulfed the parking lot.
The Mutare Fire Brigade Department quickly rushed to the scene and doused the flames, saving several other cars that could have been burnt.
A witness said a farmer who was preparing a field near the car park started a fire which quickly turned into huge flames due to the current windy conditions.
“In the absence of a fireguard and the tall dry grass at the car park, the fire grew quickly and burnt the cars,” said Mr Talkmore Baradza.
Veld fires are burning huge tracts of grasslands in Manicaland and the Environmental Management Agency is embarking on province-wide awareness campaigns against veld fires.
Police confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.

The Mutare Fire Brigade Department quickly rushed to the scene and doused the flames, saving several other cars that could have been burnt.
A witness said a farmer who was preparing a field near the car park started a fire which quickly turned into huge flames due to the current windy conditions.
“In the absence of a fireguard and the tall dry grass at the car park, the fire grew quickly and burnt the cars,” said Mr Talkmore Baradza.
Veld fires are burning huge tracts of grasslands in Manicaland and the Environmental Management Agency is embarking on province-wide awareness campaigns against veld fires.
Police confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.

A 53-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo’s high-density suburb of Sizinda has been sentenced to four months imprisonment after stealing a six pack of Black Label beer at his work place.
Circumstances are that on September 7 at around 6pm, Army Ndala Zulu, who works at Bonsa Spar in Hillside, nicked the beer at his work station’s receiving bay and hid it inside his jacket.
His shenanigans were however caught on Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) after an alert security guard Chalton Maphosa had raised a red flag the following day.
At the court the retail outlet was represented by Khulisani Mhlanga and despite claiming he had stolen the beer to sell and buy mealie-meal for his family, Bulawayo magistrate Busani Sibanda found Zulu guilty hence the sentence for the offence.
However, one month was suspended on condition that he pays a fine of $4 194 before 30 September. Two months were suspended on condition of good behaviour and completes 70 hours of community service at Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP)Tshabalala station that is to be completed in two weeks.

A two-year-old girl from Chakari Village in Chegutu was allegedly axed to death by her uncle this Sunday after a family dispute.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, 21-year-old Tryforcer Moyo, who is believed to have been intoxicated, became violent after accusing his family members of bewitching him.
It is alleged that he went on to strike his two-year old niece with an axe.
The two year old was rushed to a local hospital where she died upon admission.

By- The leader of the MDC-T, Douglas Mwonzora’s position is set to be contested at the party’s elective congress.
According to his party, they are conducting a restructuring exercise in preparation for the elective congress.
The congress is due before the end of the year.
Key positions to be contested include that of the party president, currently occupied by Mwonzora, vice president, and organising secretary, among others.
MDC-T national spokesperson Witness Dube, said that the date for the ordinary congress depends on the completion of provincial structures and the availability of funds for the national congress. He added:
The structures have to be adopted by the national council, automatically giving the president the mandate to call for a national election after 30 days.
We are about 70 per cent complete and we don’t declare a date until everything is complete, that is structures are tabled and adopted by the national council.

By-Police In Chinhoyi Wednesday summoned CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere, to the Mashonaland West Provincial capital’s Central Police Station’s Law and Order Department over an undisclosed issue.
Mahere revealed the development in a tweet this afternoon.
She also said in the tweet that she was planning to travel to Chinhoyi with her lawyers. She said: I have been summoned to CID Law & Order, Mash West in Chinhoyi. I will be heading there shortly with my lawyers. The police have not yet indicated whether this relates to a potential charge or something else.
By A Correspondent- A Chipinge-based youth empowerment lobby grouping, Platform for Youth and Community Development Trust, is conducting peacebuilding training workshops in Manicaland where they are encouraging communities to desist from engaging in political violence.
The organisation’s director, Claris Madhuku, said they wanted to promote peace and tolerance among communities as the country prepares for the 2023 elections.

Two weeks ago, suspected Zanu PF thugs in Chinhoyi targeted Chamisa’s motorcade with a bomb.

South Africa will bid for the rights to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the country’s FA (SAFA) has confirmed.
The tournament has never been hosted on African soil since its inception in 1991.
SAFA Chief Executive Officer Tebogo Motlanthe told BBC Sport that the association will inform FIFA about their bid.
“The NEC (National Executive Committee) has resolved that we must bid to host the World Cup for women in 2027,” Motlanthe said.
“We as [an] administration will duly inform FIFA and then start the process of hosting the World Cup.”
The Southern African country, who became the first country on the continent to host the men’s World Cup in 2010, will, however, face stiff competition from from a joint bid of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
The United States of America have also indicated a desire to bid for either the 2027 or 2031 World Cups.
A joint Scandinavian bid was once floated, but with Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden bidding together to host the 2025 European Championship, the continental tournament could take precedence.

Tinotenda Kadewere has avoided, for the moment, surgery after Real Mallorca and Olympique de Lyon doctors agreed to apply a conservative treatment to cure the serious injury to the quadriceps of his right leg suffered earlier in the month.

Amnesty International (AI) has called on Zimbabwean authorities to release Members of Parliament Job Sikhala (Zengeza West) and Godfrey Sithole (Chitungwiza North).
Today, 21 September 2022, marks 100 days since Sikhala and Sithole were jailed at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison.
The Executive Director of Amnesty International Zimbabwe, Lucia Masuka, said the continued incarceration of the opposition legislators reveals the politicisation of the justice system in Zimbabwe. Said Masuka:
The ongoing arbitrary detention of Sikhala and Sithole is unjust and abusive. It has caused unspeakable emotional distress to them and their families.
Zimbabwean authorities cannot continue to incarcerate Sikhala and Sithole on trumped-up charges. They must be released immediately and unconditionally.
… The continued incarceration of Sikhala and Sithole is a travesty of justice. They are victims of a government hellbent on silencing opposition voices.
Zimbabwean authorities must stop criminalizing dissent and instead create a conducive environment for people to freely express themselves.
Sikhala and Sithole were arrested on 14 June 2022 after attending the funeral of political activist, Moreblessing Ali, who was abducted and killed by people with suspected links to ZANU PF.
Ali was missing for three weeks before being found murdered and her body mutilated on 11 June 2022.
Sikhala, Sithole and 14 CCC members are being accused of encouraging their supporters to cause violence in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza, during Ali’s memorial.
