Makhadzi Apologizes To Gaffa President Winky D

In a shocking turn of events at the Africa Music Festival UK, popular South African artist Makhadzi has publicly voiced her frustration and disappointment, alleging that she was deliberately sabotaged during her performance.

The South African musician ended up performing for only a measly 10 minutes.

In a social media video, Makhadzi, known for her energetic performances and vibrant music, revealed that she was paid a substantial sum of half a million Rand for her appearance at the festival.

Promising fans an hour-long set, she eagerly prepared to grace the stage and deliver an unforgettable performance.

However, as the night unfolded, Makhadzi’s excitement turned into disbelief as her time slot was repeatedly adjusted, seemingly to her disadvantage.

She claimed that the organizers kept moving her performance slot earlier, ultimately resulting in a mere ten-minute window to showcase her talent.

Winky D’s Extended Set Steals the Spotlight
Adding to Makhadzi’s grievances, fellow artist and Zimbabwean superstar Winky D allegedly took the stage and performed for a staggering 80 minutes.

This extended performance allegedly ate into Makhadzi’s precious time and encroached on the time allocated for fellow Zimbabwean superstar musician Jah Prayzah.

Allegations of Sabotage and Brand Damage
Makhadzi made a startling allegation, asserting that the promoter had exploited her and Jah Prayzah’s names to sell tickets for the event, yet deliberately deprived them of the time they deserved on stage.

She claimed that this blatant manipulation was part of a larger plot to tarnish her brand and reputation.

Expressing her heartfelt apologies to her loyal Zimbabwean fanbase,

Makhadzi admitted that the situation was beyond her control and that she was deeply sorry for not being able to deliver the performance they had eagerly anticipated.

The allegations have stirred controversy within the music industry, with fans and fellow artists expressing outrage at the alleged mistreatment of Makhadzi.

Calls for transparency and fairness in the industry have echoed across social media platforms as fans demand answers from the event organizers.

As the music community awaits responses from the festival organizers and the implicated artists, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the challenges and power dynamics artists face, even on the international stage.

Makhadzi’s claims of sabotage and mistreatment at the Africa Music Festival UK have ignited a firestorm of discussions.

As the industry and fans rally behind her, the incident sheds light on the complexities and pressures faced by artists, even in what should have been a celebratory event.

Disqualified Zanu PF Candidate Hearing On Today

Disqualified Zanu PF candidate for Chipinge South constituency Robert Nyemudzo is today expected to undergo a disciplinary hearing in Mutare after being accused of orchestrating a protest vote popularly known as bhora musango which resulted in the Citizens Coalitions for Change (CCC) party winning the seat.

Nyemudzo defeated Enock Porusingazi in the Zanu PF primary elections, but was disqualified after being accused of allegedly brewing illicit beer at his Checheche homestead.

He was later arrested and appeared at the Chipinge Magistrates Court where he was sentenced to 18 months in jail, leaving Porusingazi as the Zanu PF party candidate.

Porusingazi lost to CCC’s Clifford Hlatshwayo, a development that angered theZanu PF leadership in Manicaland province. According to a letter by the party, Nyemudzo celebrated the opposition party’s win in the constituency.

Zanu PF Manicaland provincial chairperson Tawanda Mukodza yesterday confirmed the hearing.

“He (Nyemudzo) will appear before a disciplinary committee led by comrade Linda Matatu tomorrow (today),” Mukodza said.

Post-Election Tensions Boil Over in Zimbabwe as CCC Denounces Violent Attacks

By Jane Mlambo| Accusations of intimidation and targeted violence against Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporters are stoking tensions across Zimbabwe following the July 30 elections.

While authorities insist the country is peaceful, CCC leaders and human rights groups paint a starkly different picture, highlighting a string of concerning incidents.

CCC Glen Norah ward 7 councillor Womberaiishe Nhende and his friend were allegedly abducted and tortured by suspected security agents near Harare.

Human rights groups, including Amnesty International and Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, have demanded investigations and accountability for Nhende’s ordeal.

CCC parliamentary candidate Solomon Hodhera and his chief election agent reportedly faced physical attacks from Zanu-PF’s Ngonidzashe Mudekunye during ballot counting in Buhera South.

In a separate incident, CCC supporters Elen Chakanetsa and Tasvika Bwakura had their homes burned down in Buhera, by suspected Zanu-PF supporters.

Bwakura has since fled the area and faces further threats.

CCC national spokesperson Promise Mkhwananzi condemned the alleged attacks, questioning the actions of “someone who claims to have won the election,” in reference to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

He urged Mnangagwa to “stop inciting violence” and embrace Chamisa’s call for peace.

Wilbert Mandinde, acting director of the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, expressed concern over selective application of law by police, with arrests primarily targeting CCC members.

He cited inconsistencies in charging suspects related to the fatal Chitsunge incident in Glen View.

Political analyst Romeo Chasara described the violence as a worrying trend jeopardizing Zimbabwe’s democratic progress.

He drew parallels to the bloodshed of the 2008 elections and emphasized the need for free and peaceful participation in the electoral process.

However, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, national police spokesperson, denied any post-election violence reports.

He cautioned against spreading “false messages” and assured the public of nationwide peace.

UK Hit By Fake Zim Drivers Licenses

Fake Zimbabwean Driver’s Licenses Scandal Hits UK

In a startling revelation, the United Kingdom has been hit by a growing problem of fake Zimbabwean driver’s licenses infiltrating the country’s roads. The issue has prompted the government to issue a comprehensive response to address the concerns surrounding these counterfeit licenses.

Zim Government’s Response:

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development has expressed deep concern regarding the proliferation of social media messages discussing the challenges faced by Zimbabwean drivers attempting to convert their licenses to British driver’s licenses in the UK. In a bid to shed light on this matter, the government has released the following responses to some of the questions raised by Zimbabwean drivers:

1. Recognition of Zimbabwean Driver’s Licenses:
The British Government continues to recognize Zimbabwean driver’s licenses. However, there are troubling reports of fake metallic licenses being used, resulting in road traffic accidents. Consequently, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in the UK has taken measures to demand Certificates of Competency during the conversion process from Zimbabwean licenses to British licenses.

2. Duplicate Certificates of Competency:
At present, the system does not permit the issuance of duplicate Certificates of Competency, as they are valid for only thirty (30) days by law. Nevertheless, the Ministry is actively engaged in discussions with the DVLA to revise the requirement for a Certificate of Competency during license conversion.

3. License Class Conversion:
Some drivers holding Zimbabwean class two driver’s licenses have faced difficulties in converting to classes 4 and 5 in the UK. DVLA’s reluctance is due to concerns that many class two drivers may lack essential skills. In response, the Ministry has introduced provisions for testing drivers for class four, ensuring they meet the necessary competency standards for the respective classes.

4. Application Rejections and Fake Certificates:
Applicants are strictly prohibited from submitting fake Certificates of Competency to the DVLA or any licensing authority. Such actions may lead to the revocation of valid driver’s licenses. The government strongly advises drivers to follow the proper channels for license conversion and refrain from engaging in any illicit activities.

5. Verification of Licenses:
Complaints about DVLA’s inability to contact CVR (possibly an authority related to verification) have arisen. The government states that CVR maintains daily communication with DVLA and provides contact emails for those seeking license verification. Additionally, concerned citizens are encouraged to seek assistance from their respective embassies if needed.

The UK government is taking these measures to ensure the authenticity of driver’s licenses and the competence of drivers on its roads. The issue of fake Zimbabwean driver’s licenses remains a significant concern, and these responses aim to address the challenges faced by Zimbabwean drivers seeking license conversion in the United Kingdom.

CCC Councillor Granted Bail in Murder Case

Harare’s Ward 10 newly-elected councillor, Clyde Mashozhera, facing two counts of attempted murder and malicious damage to property, has been granted US$300 bail. This decision was made by Harare magistrate Mrs. Marehwanazvo Gofa, who remanded Mashozhera to November 1.

Mashozhera and his alleged accomplices stand accused of a brutal attack on Zanu PF members Artwell Marwa, Spencer Mudarikwa, and Cyril Nyauchi. During the incident, their car was set on fire, and property, including US$15,000 in cash, was destroyed.

The court heard that the gang, led by Daundi Josseb and including Mashozhera, blocked Mr. Nyauchi’s Toyota Spacio at the corner of Seke and Boshoff Roads in Graniteside, Harare. They forced Mr. Nyauchi out of the vehicle, smashed its windscreen and windows with batons, iron bars, and a small axe, and proceeded to assault all passengers in the car.

The burnt vehicle contained the aforementioned cash, an empty jerrycan, 2×15 tires on rims, a Samsung cellphone, and a Nokia cellphone. All complainants suffered serious head injuries and bruises on their hands and legs.

Notably, National Assembly member Maureen Kademaunga (CCC), initially arrested in connection to the gang, had all charges withdrawn due to a lack of evidence connecting her to the assault.

US Donates Military Helicopters To HH As Zim Provokes War Against Zambia

By-The United States Government has donated four advanced high-performance helicopters to Zambia and offered a comprehensive three-year training program for staff.

General Michael Langley, the Commander of United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), announced this during a media briefing. He emphasised that these helicopters would enhance Zambia’s ability to participate in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping missions throughout Africa, further demonstrating the country’s commitment to fostering stability and peace in the region. General Langley was quoted by local media saying :

  • These high-performance helicopters will not only support Zambia in its vital role in UN peacekeeping missions but also stand ready to respond to future disasters, mitigate the effects of climate change, and provide assistance to neighboring nations.

Lieutenant General Sitali Alibuzwi, the Zambia Army Commander, expressed gratitude and acknowledged the military’s numerous agreements with different countries, emphasizing Zambia’s commitment to fostering international cooperation for mutual benefit.

U.S. Ambassador to Zambia Michael Gonzalas highlighted the multifaceted nature of the relationship between the United States and Zambia. He emphasized that the partnership extends beyond military support to include health initiatives and other important sectors. Both nations share a commitment to enhancing stability, security, and overall development in Zambia and the region.

This comes after Zanu PF had declared war on Zambia for exposing rigging in the last month’s election. Zambia’s Dr. Nevers Mumba Zambia’s former Deputy President leading the SEOM, criticised the elections alleging they were not free, fair, and credible. He received death threats from some senior government officials in Zimbabwe.

Fresh Details On Prison Boss’ Mysterious Death

By James Gwati- Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services’s Assistant Commissioner Renias Chiwakaya has died of suspected food poisoning.

Ass Comm Chiwakaya passed on a short illness at Chikurubi Prison Complex early this week.

His colleagues at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison said the vocal war veteran suffered a stroke, collapsed, and died.

They said his death was highly linked to food poisoning.

Chiwakaya, a decorated military veteran, was vocal in challenging nepotism and corruption by both ZPCS booses and the Zanu PF government.

During his days, he was not afraid of confronting his bosses whenever he felt that the rights of juniors had been suppressed.

He could also challenge the regime without fear, saying that the revolutionary party had lost the ethos of the liberation struggle.

Stop Harassing CCC Female Candidates, ZRP Told

By A Correspondent

CCC city of Harare proportional representation councillor, Chido Mutize Hamauswa has challenged the Zimbabwe Republic Police to stop tormenting the party’s female candidates.

According to Hamauswa, the arrest of newly elected CCC deputy mayor, Kudzai Kadzombe, reflects the police’s violation of women’s rights.

Deputy Mayor Kadzombe has been arrested by Malborough Police.

She is being accused of assaulting a ZANUPF member in Malborough during the recent Harmonized elections.

She will appear at Harare Rotten Raw Magistrate Court tomorrow Friday @8.15am.

She is being represanted by Jeremiah Bhamu of ZLHR.

Speaking on Kadzombe’s arrest, Hamauswa said:

“We are being subjected to blatant abuse of women’s rights by the police. Of concern is the fact that police are targeting CCC female MPs and councillors.

We are getting to a situation where are gravely worried about the selective persecution of our female candidates.

Deputy Mayor Kadzombe’s case is trivial. It’s really embarrassing to note that the police are busy terrorising CCC candidates. It’s a reflection of the ZRP’s desperation and calculated gimmicks meant to cow women in politics into submission. “

Newly Elected Harare Deputy Mayor Arrested

The newly elected Harare City Deputy Mayor Cllr Kudzai kadzombe has been arrested by Malborough Police Station.

She is being charged with assaulting a ZANUPF member in Malborough during the recent Harmonized elections.

She will appear at Harare Rotten Row Magistrate Court tomorrow Friday 8.15am.

Lovebirds Crushed By A Goods Train During The Act Have Been Named

Police have named victims of Beitbridge goods train accident who may have died in their sleep at a makeshift love nest between the railway lines.

The officer commanding Beitbridge Police District Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo said the male victim was Carmore Chauke (34) of Joseph Village under Chief Negari in Mwenezi.

As earlier reported he was employed by Bitumen World from whose camp he left on the fateful night.

Chauke’s partner has been identified as Jennifer Gonodema (29) of Mazare Village under Chief Mutimurefu in Masvingo district.

It has since been established the two who camped for the night on the railway line on September on Sunday night were hit by a goods locomotive with 13 trailers.

The accident happened 73 kilometres from Beitbridge and the train was driving from Rutenga to Beitbridge.

“Investigations show that the train driver noticed an object in the middle of the railway line and sounded the horn but the object remained stationery resulting in him applying brakes but the train stopped only after after running over the object,” said Nyongo.

Police attended the scene where both Chauke and Gonodema’s mutilated bodies lay 25 metres apart with indications the man had been dragged for that distance.

Their nest, a single bed mattress remained in position of their last night.

Foul play has been ruled and it is believed the two likely fell dead asleep and failed to hear the approaching train.

Nyongo said relatives of both deceased had been informed.

Harare Councilors Threatened

Harare Provincial Affairs and Devolution secretary Tafadzwa Muguti has read the riot act to the newly-elected councillors, ordering them to prioritise service delivery.

Harare has been facing a major service delivery crisis with residents complaining of water shortage, irregular refuse collection and lack of basic amenities.

In an address earlier this week, Muguti warned councillors who fail to transform the lives of the residents saying: “As government, we expect you to channel resources towards efficient service delivery. My office drives the devolution agenda and we expect to work with Harare City Council in the achievement of the underlisted: provincial co-ordination, provincial economic development, infrastructure planning and development and environmental management.

“You all know the pain points and as such, this new council must make a difference and transform the lives of the residents of Harare.

“My office is open to work with the City of Harare for the achievement of outcomes that benefit residents.”

He emphasised the importance of inter-governmental relations, pointing out that effective collaboration between these different levels of government is crucial for the successful implementation of policies and initiatives.

“Zimbabwe is a unitary State with a three-tier government that is the national government, provincial and metropolitan councils.

“In view of the above, it is important that inter-governmental relations are observed to ensure that the different levels of government work together effectively.

“The devolution of governmental powers and authority ensures the recognition of local governments as legitimate and autonomous,” Muguti said.

Local authorities in Zimbabwe have been struggling financially amid claims that devolution funds were not being disbursed on time, which affects service delivery.

There were reports that some local authorities were struggling to pay their employees because residents and institutions were not paying their bills.

Government institutions have turned out to be the biggest defaulters.

Kademaunga, Mashozhera Are Just Victims of A Complex Issue

By A Correspondent| Newly elected Member of Parliament for Sunningdale Constituency, Maureen Kademaunga, and Ward 10 Councillor Clayd Mashozhera appeared before a Harare Magistrate court today, facing three counts of attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred on August 23, 2023, when three complainants were attacked near Metro-Peech in Harare.

During the altercation, a Toyota Spacio vehicle was set on fire.

One of the complainants in the case is Cyril Nyauchi, a Zanu PF local authority candidate for Ward 10.

However, sources close to the developments have raised doubts about the allegations against Kademaunga and Mashozhera.

According to one source, “This is an internal matter involving disgruntled CCC members who were trounced during the citizen consensus which sought to choose candidates to represent the party. The same people are now dining with the enemy (Zanu PF members) to sacrifice their rivals. Money is exchanging hands, and the people involved are known.

“Placing Mashozhera on the wanted list is the biggest joke of the year so far. If they really wanted him, why didn’t they arrest him during the Council swearing in ceremony where he took oath of office, this is just politics at play,”

Surprisingly, Kademaunga has already been acquitted, while a bail ruling for Clayd Mashozhera is expected tomorrow afternoon.

Another source claimed that the two might be victims of Zanu PF factional politics in Sunningdale suburb.

“CCC members are just being smeared; they are victims of Zanu PF factional fights in the suburb. Victims of the August 23rd incident know who attacked them, but there are individuals driven by greed and hidden agendas. Numerous issues are happening behind the scenes, with some individuals allegedly bribing police officers to implicate CCC members,” said the source

Recently, police summoned former Ward 10 Councillor Hammy Madzingira in connection with the matter however, he was released without charge.

The investigating officer in the case is Panganai Gwati from the Law-and-Order department, who gained notoriety for disrupting a recent CCC press conference in Harare recently.

Police Operation Causes Commotion In Harare

Thousands of commuters in Harare and other urban areas were left stranded on a recent day when the police launched an operation targeting unlicensed commuter omnibuses and pirate taxis.

While authorities framed it as an operation to enforce traffic regulations and reduce lawlessness on the roads, some commuters believed it was punitive, viewing it as a response to the overwhelming support for the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) in the recent elections.

During the operation, police impounded vehicles, but in some cases, they did not charge drivers or vehicle owners. Commuters faced challenges finding transport, as kombi crews avoided police roadblocks on major roads leading to the city center, forcing passengers to walk part of their journeys.

Commuters expressed frustration, believing that the operation disrupted their daily routines and made it difficult to reach their destinations on time. The Zimbabwe Union of Drivers and Conductors supported the initiative’s goal of maintaining order but raised concerns about the implementation. They argued that even vehicles with necessary documentation were being impounded. They suggested that the operation should consider different phases based on compliance levels and focus more on vehicles lacking proper paperwork.

A leaked circular from the Criminal Investigation Department highlighted concerns about lawlessness on the roads, particularly in major cities, and criticized kombi drivers for disregarding traffic laws. It mentioned that pirate taxis had taken over the passenger transport industry.

While some passengers welcomed the operation as a means to improve safety and cleanliness in cities, they called for a clear transport policy to guide such operations.

In summary, the police operation targeting unlicensed commuter omnibuses and pirate taxis left many commuters stranded and raised concerns about its impact on the transportation system. Some believed it was punitive, while others saw it as a necessary step to address lawlessness on the roads.

Zambian Activist Joseph Kalimbwe to File Police Report Against Zanu PF’s Patrick Chinamasa

LUSAKA, Zambia — Zambian activist Joseph Kalimbwe announced on social media yesterday that he intends to file a police report against Patrick Chinamasa, the Treasurer of Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu PF.

Kalimbwe alleges that Chinamasa issued death threats against Zambia’s leadership, prompting him to take legal action.

CCC Official Slams Government Over Persecution Of Maureen Kademaunga

By A Correspondent

Citizens Coalition for Change Harare proportional representation councillor, Chido Mutize Hamauswa, has condemned the flagrant abuse of women’s rights by Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.

Hamauswa described as shocking the persecution of CCC MP for Sunningdale, Maureen Kademaunga, by the Harare regime.

Kademaunga, councillor Claud Mashozhera (ward 10) and Daud Jessub were arrested in Harare on Tuesday.

Speaking to ZimEye.com, Hamauswa said:

We are witnessing a
clear reflection of post election violence being perpetrated by Mr Mnangagwa’s regime. The persecution of Maureen is an attack on the fundamental rights of women and girls in Zimbabwe.
We all know that Maureen is innocent.

The harassment of women is a direct reflection of Mr
Mnangagwa’s misogynistic tendencies.

This does not make sense, there is no rule of law in Zimbabwe.

Our message to the government is clear: Maureen, Daud and Claud are innocent.

Mr Mnangagwa is violating the basic tenets of democracy.

We call for the immediate release of Hon Job Sikhala, Jacob Ngarivhume and all political prisoners.

Disband Cabinet, Dump Deadwood, Mnangagwa Told

By Jane Mlambo| United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) led by Elizabeth Valerio has told President Emmerson Mnangagwa to disband his recently announced cabinet saying it falls short of the expectations of citizens.

In a statement on Mnangagwa’s new cabinet, UZA called for inclusion of competent people from other political parties.

The party also demanded that the current cabinet which it described as a clear show of nepotism and refushuffling of deadwood, be disbanded.

“As UZA, we call upon President Mnangagwa to urgently consider the following: • Disband and combine redundant ministries to create a lean cabinet,” the party said.

UZA further urged Mnangagwa to withdraw appointed ministers who are past their prime to pave wat for young ministers with the capacity to bring forward new innovative ideas.

Appointing 26 cabinet ministers and 10 provincial ministers in a country already burdened with economic malaise proves that either President #Mnangagwa is out of touch with reality or has no regard for the voice of the people. UZA would have expected President Mnangagwa to trim the size of his cabinet. UZA favours a lean cabinet of under 15 ministers, which should include qualified and experienced individuals leading the various portfolios,” UZA added.

While appearing before Plumtree magistrate, Mr Joshua Nembaware,  the court heard that sometime in August while on a drinking spree at Dingimuzi cocktail bar,  Moyo tried to offer first aid to an unknown man who was   bleeding outside the bar.

It is further alleged that a misunderstanding arose when the accused tried to block Moyo from offering help resulting in him picking up a stone and hitting him on the head.

Rodrick pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to 13 September 2023 for sentencing.

Mr Voster Makuwere appeared for the state.

Meanwhile, appearing before the same magistrate, Sikhumbuzo Mhlophe and Keith Tshuma both of Plumtree were remanded in custody for assaulting Stephen Siangobe.

It is alleged that  Sikhumbuzo and Keith who are employed as a braai attendant and butcher attendant respectively at Dumms Cocktail bar had a misunderstanding with the complainant resulting in them assaulting him with a steel bar on the knee.

They were both remanded out of custody to 19 September 2023 on ZWL 5000 bail.

Reprieve for Mount Hampden land owner

The High Court has intervened to halt the lands ministry’s efforts to seize a 50-hectare farm in Mount Hampden from a man who has held ownership since 1981.

The government had officially designated the property for compulsory acquisition on April 6, 2012. However, Bruce Charles Alexander claimed that he only became aware of this designation when he applied for a subdivision permit to the Mashonaland West provincial town planner last year.

According to Alexander, he was informed that the lands ministry planned to utilize the land for resettlement and agricultural purposes. The High Court was informed that the same piece of land had been previously designated by the Zvimba Rural District Council on August 4, 2006, for various uses, including industrial, commercial, residential, and supportive structures. This plan had zoned a total area of 13,990 hectares as urban land, with the plan taking effect on September 1, 2006.

Alexander, who filed a lawsuit against Lands Minister Anxious Masuka, sought to have the government’s designation of the property declared null and void. He also sought recognition as the rightful owner.

Alexander argued that the land could not be appropriated for agricultural purposes because it had been designated as urban land in 2006. He contended that the minister did not dispute that the land in question was, indeed, urban land.

Masuka, represented by Acting Permanent Secretary Gibson Chijarira, opposed the application, asserting that the relief sought was legally inadequate. He contended that Alexander should have specifically requested a declaration of the action’s unconstitutionality.

Justice Never Katiyo ruled in favor of Alexander’s arguments, stating, “There is nothing put forward by the minister to the effect that the 2006 designation was reversed or revoked before the 2012 designation was put in place.” Justice Katiyo further emphasized that the government’s 2012 designation of the property as published in the government gazette on April 6, 2012, was “null and void.”

Mnangagwa’s Arrogance Makes News In South Africa

Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa has grabbed newspaper headlines in South Africa after he arrogantly told those who did not approve of Sports minister Kirsty Coventry to appoint their own choices when they become Presidents.

Below is a report published by Timeslive and republished by The Sowetan…..

…………

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced a new cabinet, appointing some of his own family members to high-ranking positions.

Mnangagwa appointed his son Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa as deputy minister of finance. Kudakwashe Mnangagwa is the Zanu-PF youth quota MP in the Midlands province. The youth quota, is made up of 10 candidates aged 21-35, chosen by proportional representation based on the constituency votes.

Mnangagwa also appointed his nephew, Tongai Mnangagwa, as the deputy minister of tourism. Controversial minister Barbara Rwodzi was appointed minister of tourism. She caused a stir in June when she hurled insults at a senior police officer for investigating Zanu-PF activists.

Mthuli Ncube has been retained as the country’s finance minister. The former Oxford University professor has dismally failed to revive the country’s economy as the Zimbabwe dollar has continued to weaken and inflation has reached triple digits.

Kirsty Coventry has been reappointed as the country’s sports minister despite being among the most underperforming ministers. During her five years as cabinet minister, in 2020, Zimbabwe was banned from hosting international soccer games by the Confederation of African Football because of substandard stadiums. In 2022, Zimbabwe was banned for 18 months by Fifa, football’s governing body, over government interference in the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa).

Addressing journalists at State House, Mnangagwa when asked why he has reappointed Coventry said he was happy with how she has performed in government.

“I have reappointed her because l am happy with her performance. Whoever was not impressed by her can appoint someone else when they become president,” he said.

There are no members of the opposition in the cabinet.

Mnangagwa said he doesn’t need to appoint the opposition.

“The opposition would enjoy to be in actual opposition, rather than be in government then fail to do their opposition,” said Mnangagwa.

Douglas Mombeshora is the country’s new minister of health, relieving vice-president Constantino Chiwenga who served a dual role as health minister. Mombeshora was deputy health minister during the country’s typhoid outbreak from October 2011 to June 2012.

Prominent Analyst Drops Bombshell On Mnangagwa

Prominent political analyst and Sapes Trust convener, Ibbo Mandaza, has asserted that President Emmerson Mnangagwa attempted to postpone this year’s elections by two years to extend his rule and then peacefully step down in 2025. Mandaza revealed this information during an interview with Alpha Media Holdings chairman Trevor Ncube on the platform In Conversation with Trevor.

Mandaza claimed that he received reliable information indicating that Mnangagwa, despite prior denials, had indeed tried to negotiate with opposition leader Nelson Chamisa on such a deal. According to Mandaza, Mnangagwa wanted to delay the elections, form a government of national unity (GNU), and commit to transferring power within two years.

However, Chamisa reportedly rejected the offer, believing he could win the elections. Mandaza went on to suggest that Mnangagwa’s rule lacks legitimacy, particularly in light of adverse reports from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and other election observer missions.

Mnangagwa officially won the August 23 and 24 elections with 52.6% of the vote, while Chamisa garnered 44%. Nonetheless, Chamisa disputed the results as a “gigantic fraud” and launched a diplomatic campaign to gain regional support for his election dispute.

Mandaza speculated that Mnangagwa might propose a Government of National Unity to preempt SADC action and to secure a peaceful exit in the next two years, up to 2025. He suggested that Mnangagwa has been struggling to return the military to the barracks, making a smooth transition crucial.

Mandaza and Tony Reeler are currently gathering signatures for a petition to the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security to push for a political settlement in Zimbabwe. The petition acknowledges flaws in the August 23 and 24 elections and has been shared with regional governments through their foreign affairs ministries, amassing over 30,000 signatures to date.

Zanu PF distances itself from violence targeting CCC members

Obert Mpofu, the Zanu-PF secretary for administration, has stated that the recent attacks on Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporters in various parts of the country were purely criminal acts unrelated to his party.

The main opposition has accused Zanu-PF of being involved in retaliatory actions against its supporters and polling agents in remote areas like Chiredzi and Uzumba Maramba-Pfungwe, where homes have been set on fire.

However, Mpofu, in a meeting with senior officials from the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) at Zanu-PF headquarters in Harare on Tuesday, emphasized that such alleged abuses should be reported to the police.

Some of the issues they have raised are matters about which we have not received detailed information,” Mpofu stated. “However, they appear to be related to criminal activities. If people have been assaulted or attacked, it is a matter for the police to address.”

The Zimbabwe Council of Churches has played an active role in monitoring Zimbabwean elections in the past.

Speaking at the same event, ZCC general secretary Reverend Wilfred Dimingu stressed the importance of moving forward after the recent contested elections. He urged Zimbabweans to unite as a nation and work together.

“We have recently concluded the harmonized elections, and as a country, we must move forward to unite the nation and work together,” said Dimingu. “So, we are here to engage in discussions with the leadership of Zanu-PF to explore areas where the church can contribute to nation-building and foster unity among our people.”

Netizens react to ED cabinet appointments

A compilation by a local publication reveals the early reactions to the new cabinet appointments by ED.

Ranga Mberi (Journalist)

I’m surprised anyone in Cabinet kept their jobs. But also I’m not surprised.

Brighton Mutebuka (Politics Analyst):

You do not have to be ED’s arch critic to discern that the Cabinet that he has appointed is lightweight, uninspiring, underwhelming & ill-equipped to deal with the pressing political & economic questions of the day. It has got all the hallmarks of Robert Mugabe’s last Cabinet at the height of the coup!

Temba Maseko

With ED inauguration, Mps & Clrs ( including those form CCC) sworn in , and Cabinet announced is a political settlement with Chamisa still possible apa ?

Thabani Mpofu (CCC Lawyer):

Dear War Veterans

There are 3 Mnangagwa’s….3 as in 1,2,3 in Mnangagwa’s cabinet. Three.

Is this what you fought for?

Regards

Your liberated son

Hon. Vangelis Peter Haritatos (appointed deputy minister of Lands and Agriculture):

What a great honour to continue to serve in the same life changing, transformation team.

We still have so much to do & I am so grateful to His Excellency President Mnangagwa for this amazing vote of confidence.

A true honour & privilege to continue to serve our Great Nation.

Nick Mangwana (Zimbabwe Information ministry)

We are lucky when in the election of MPs there are people with professional qualifications and good experience in the pool the President has to pick Ministers from. If some of those happen to be related to him, that doesn’t disqualify them for nomination on that basis only. They are also Zimbabweans.

Fadzayi Mahere (CCC MP):

Christopher Mutsvangwa was fired by war vets for lacking accountability & professionalism. Today, he was purportedly made their minister. He recently said that anyone who wants reform in Zimbabwe must go to war.

Barbara Rwodzi called a (ZRP) officer a “dog,” “an idiot” & “a fool” for refusing to drop a criminal case against a Zanu PF member. She threatened to deal with said officer. The whereabouts of the sis officer remain unclear. Today, she was appointed Minister of Tourism.

Mduduzi Mathuthu (journalist on why CCC released no statement on Cabinet):

It cannot be that Mnangagwa does his announcement and the main opposition has no immediate response

Jaqueline Sande (Zanu-PF Activist):

We expected this. No change at the most important Ministry. It’s suffer continua for Zimbabweans as Mthuli pursues IMF economics at the expense of the majority of Zimbabweans who are vulnerable and marginalised.

The President’s son as deputy ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ This one I did not see coming

Hopewell Chin’ono (Journalist & Activist)

President Mnangagwa has named probably the worst cabinet in Zimbabwe’s history retaining Mthuli Ncube as Finance Minister and the worst ever sports minister, Kirst Coventry.

He also named his son Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa as deputy Finance minister, Barbara Rwodzi as Tourism minister and his side luck Owen Mudha Ncube as Midlands provincial minister.

He also named his nephew Tongai Mnangagwa as deputy minister.

Kademaunga’s Arrest Part Of Zanu PF Machinations To Regain Two Thirds Majority In Parly, Says ZAPU

By A Correspondent| Following the arrest of Sunningdale legislator Maureen Kademaunga, opposition members have expressed fear that it could be part of the ruling party machinations to retain its two thirds majority in parliament.

Kademaunga was arrested and detained at Harare Central Police Station in connection with attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

Posting on Twitter, ZAPU said the arrest of Kademaunga is Zanu PF’s bid to regain its firm grip in parliament so that it can railroad its policies and constitutional amendments.

“In pursuit of a 2 thirds majority. We need fireproof vests not bible verses! If we don’t come together and resist now, we will all be taken one by one! Screen grab this tweet,” ZAPU said.

CCC Spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi has also condemned Kademaunga’s arrest saying the charges against her are cooked up.

“We condemn the arrest & detention of Hon. @MaureenKade MP for Sunnindale constituency. Like all political prisoners, Maureen is being detained at Harare Central Police Station on flimsy & cooked up charges. Mr. Mnangagwa has heightened repression & vindication against our Party leaders, activists, members, supporters & the generality of the Citizens for voting for @nelsonchamisa & @CCCZimbabwe,” said Mkwananzi.

We were not consulted on everything,” Ncube protested Chamisa autocracy. Only Zanu PF profits from chaos and fallout

By Wilbert Mukori- “We Won’t Allow You to Personalise the Citizens Movement: Welshman Ncube Warns Chamisa!” read the headline.

Not again! was my knee jerk reaction.

“Now the riddle has been solved. We have now realised how we lost the  2018 and 2023 elections to Mnangagwa. He (Chamisa) is the problem, how  can the whole party’s symbol be someone’s face, we cannot allow that,”  Professor Welshman Ncube, one of the three CCC Vice Presidents, explained.

“We were not consulted on this matter, we were not consulted on the  selection of candidates and we were not consulted on everything. Nelson  Chamisa is doing everything by himself and the result; we lost a free and fair election to Zanu PF.”

To say I did not see this coming will be to lie. I am just surprised that the split has come so soon before the dust of this flawed election process has not even settled.

SADC is yet to meet and decide on what to do about the defiant Zanu PF regime that has gone to form a new government although SADC and AU reports had clearly stated there could be no legitimate government out of the flawed and illegal 23 August election process.

The late Simon Muzenda, Zanu PF Vice President during Mugabe’s days, once boasted that people will vote for the baboon if Zanu PF told them to! What the buffoon did not realise was that if the elections were free, fair and credible; Zimbabwean would happily vote for the troop of baboons if only to get rid of remove Zanu PF from office.

So the number one task for any Zimbabwe opposition party has always been to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections, to ensure the elections are free and fair.

The MDC (now morphed into CCC) was launched in 1999 on the promise to deliver the necessary democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. After 23 years, including 5 in the 2008 to 2013 GNU, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform. Worse still, after the GNU debacle, they gave up on reforms and have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 23 August 2023 elections, as the regime has done in all the other elections in past, because MDC/CCC had failed to implement the democratic reforms to stop the regime rigging the elections. Ever since the launch of the party in 1999, MDC has been proven utterly useless because the party leaders were corrupt and breath-taking incompetent.

Professor Ncube is right, ever since the launch of the CCC, Nelson Chamisa has turned out to be an autocrat and a control freak. He has resisted calls to have party structures and elected officials. He has controlled everything and made all key decisions.

MDC and now CCC’s enduring popular support has itself become a measure of the people’s desperation for change, the people will support any opposition with a chance to remove Zanu PF from power even if it has a rotten track record.

The lack of democratic values and quality leadership has been the root causes of the MDC/CCC’s endless infighting and more important of all the failure to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the election.

Now that Professor Ncube has made public his displeasure with Chamisa the breakup of CCC is a given. Many of those who won seats in the recent elections will, no doubt, swear their loyalty to Chamisa out of fear of being recalled and losing the seat.

The CCC supporters are a confused lot at the best of time; this latest round of infighting in the party will throw the cat amongst the pigeons. At a time when the nation wanted the wildebeest herd to focus on demanding a new GNU that will implement the democratic reforms. The last GNU failed to implement even one reform and got away with it because the herd had no clue what was going on.

The only beneficiary out of this CCC chaos and fallout is Zanu PF. The party will be exploring ways to price CCC wide open and how to profit from it all.

SADC’s efforts to put an end to the curse of rigged elections was not helped by CCC leaders taking their gravy train seats on the illegal government and now a CCC party tearing itself to pieces before their eyes!

Still, SADC must remain focused on task on hand – to a new GNU and to appoint competent staff to implement all the democratic reforms with out failure. SADC leaders must explore the chances of getting help from Commonwealth, UN, etc.; it is no shame to ask for help.

Another GNU failure to implement reforms would be more than cause for shame for Zimbabwe and the whole SADC region – it would be a real tragedy!

“Doves Funeral Services Fleeces 82yr Old Late Pensioner”

I would like to name and shame Doves Funeral services.

My 82 year old mother had a matured policy with them. She understood the need to have the policy kept updated and arranged for a monthly deduction from her pension. Doves collected this in $US from her pension.

My mother paased away on the 1st of September. I had a policy for my mother through Nyaradzo which offered better benefits so we opted to use Nyaradzo.

On her Doves policy the benefits were casket, grocery money and transport for mourners.

We approached Doves as we needed additional transport for mourners and the grocery money.

They flat out refused to honour the policy and said they would only pay out $150 grocery money in rtgs at bank rate. Transport they refused to provide.

They even claimed that my mother’s policy had arrears of $81000 even though they were collecting payment from her pension every month.

They just refused to pay out anything for my mother and I am now wondering if we had needed to use them what would they have offered.

Zanu PF Ditches DJ Masomere

MASVINGO – A local Masvingo teacher whose fame rose after he became master of ceremony at various Emmerson Mnangagwa rallies is in trouble after his property was attached for failing to pay for a Public Address (PA) system.

The attached property under order MSVPSCC161/23 is a defy deep refrigerator, an upright Capri refrigerator, a plasma 65-inch Ecco television, a four-piece lounge set, and a wooden television stand.

David Masomere, a teacher at Ndarama High School in Masvingo is the one whose voice has gone viral on social media calling for Jah Prayzah to stop playing music at Mnangagwa’s inauguration on Monday.Masomere said in court he would not pay the company that hired him for the PA system because the owner is a Zanu PF supporter like him. He said they were rendering their services to the party for free and would receive a token of appreciation from Zanu PF.

“Jah Prayzah chirega, Hello, let’s stop, Jah Prayzah chimira Jah Prayzah, Chimira, Chimira Tazvinzwa, thank you Jah Prayzah,” shouted Masomere and July Moyo.

However, the new Zanu PF MC was taken to court for failing to pay the PA hired from Meldwin-Tech Investments and used at 11 rallies.

Masvingo Magistrate Isaac Chikura ruled in favour of Meldwin-Tech Investments. Masomere hired the PA for US$1 080 but only paid US$380.

An initial default order was granted on July 28, 2023. Masomere through his lawyer Knowledge Mabvuure of Chihambakwe Law Chambers, applied for a rescission of judgment, which was dismissed with costs on Tuesday.

He argued that he did not enter into an agreement with Meldwin-Tech Investments… www.masvingomirror.co

Special Tribute To Joshua Malinga

PEOPLE with disabilities have described the late national hero, Joshua Malinga as a visionary and true defender of their rights.

The late national hero might have gone, but his legacy of transforming the fortunes of people with disabilities lives on.

“As people with disabilities, we are at a loss following the death of Malinga. He was approachable and a visionary leader and ready to assist everyone. The National Disability Policy which we believe is part of his brainchild saw things working in favour of us as people with disabilities. When the President appointed him to the post, he did forget those that are unfortunate,” said a person living with disabilities.

Another said, “To us people with disabilities, we are grateful that Malinga was given the highest honour. He was bridging the gap between us as the praesidium. Because of him, we are being recognised everywhere we go.”

Director of Disability Affairs in the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Dr Christine Peta saluted the government for according Malinga national hero status, saying he was such a man who transformed the lives of many.

“His journey started early when he was the secretary of the Jairos Jiri Association. He was a father to all people with disabilities. I remember travelling with him throughout the country making consultations on the disability policy. So, he spearheaded the National Disability Policy.

“He also occupied space at the international level and advocated on those platforms so that persons with disabilities can be included. He has left a void in the fraternity. We also want to thank President Emmerson Mnangagwa for bestowing a national hero status on Malinga,” said Dr Peta.

In his condolence message on Sunday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa described the late Cde Malinga as a nationalist stalwart and vocal proponent of disability rights.

Malinga became a victim of polio at the tender age of two, but disability did not deter him from participating in nationalist politics that ushered in the country’s independence.

At independence, Malinga served as Executive Mayor of Bulawayo for two terms and rose through the ranks in the ruling ZANU PF party to become a Politburo member.

The late national hero will be buried on a date to be advised.

Dhlakama Returns Home

RESPECTED coach Rodwell Dhlakama is delighted to be coaching football in his home area after leading Green Fuel to a one-nil victory over Sheasham in their first match playing at Green Fuel stadium in Chisumbanje on Saturday.

History was made on Saturday as Castle Lager Premier Soccer League football was played in Chisumbanje for the first time in Zimbabwe’s history when Green Fuel got the better of Sheasham at Green Fuel stadium.

The newly refurbished stadium was recently approved to host topflight matches and it opened its doors on Saturday to a rousing crowd that wanted to catch a glimpse of the action and the home team did not disappoint.

But for Rodwell Dhlakama, it was an emotional moment.

“I am emotionally attached to this team, I am from this area and just helping out the boys from this neighbourhood makes me very proud and more over leading a professional team it means a lot,” he said.

Green Fuel head coach Rodwell Dhlakama was born and raised at Chikore Mission in Chipinge, just 50 kilometres away from Chisumbanje where he is now working.

For the first time, he feels he is now coaching a home team after having led clubs like Monomotapa, Chapungu, Ngezi Platinum Stars and various other foreign clubs.

He took over at Green Fuel together with his trusted lieutenants Darlington Dodo and Innocent Chogugudza after seven matches this season when the team was rock bottom, but he has masterminded a great revival and the club is occupying 8th position on the PSL log with 29 points after 22 matches.

In other matches played on Saturday, Ngezi Platinum Stars returned to the top of the log after a narrow one-nil victory over Manica Diamonds, while defending champions FC Platinum continued with their resurgence after edging CAPS United 2-1 at Mandava Stadium.

Relegation haunted Triangle and Black Rhinos shared the spoils in a one-all draw, same as Chicken Inn and Bulawayo Chiefs.

On Sunday, the much-anticipated Battle of Zimbabwe between Dynamos and Highlanders was abandoned in the 40th minute after crowd trouble, with DeMbare leading two-nil.

Yadah briefly moved out of the relegation zone after beating fellow struggles Cranborne Bullets one-nil, while Simba Bhora replaced Yadah in the bottom four after a goalless draw against Hwange at the Colliery.

Four Police Officers Injured During Barbourfields Chaos

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that four civilians and four police officers were injured during the violent acts that marred Sunday’s Castle Lager Premiership Matchday 22 encounter between Dynamos and Highlanders at Barbourfields.

The match was abandoned after just thirty-five minutes after Highlanders fans at the Soweto End threw missles before invading the pitch.

The incident occurred just moments after Dembare’s second goal, forcing the players and coaching staff from both sides to return to the dressing rooms.

In a statement, the police has also confirmed that three cars were damaged during the incident.-Soccer24 News

Bonucci In Legal Battle With Juventus

Former Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is set to launch a legal battle against the Turin club, according several reports.

The defender left Juve to join Union Berlin last month after spending the majority of his professional career at the Italian side.

He had two spells at the Serie A club between 2010 and 2017, and 2018 to 2023.

He terminated his contract last month before moving to the Bundesliga.

The play now wants to sue his former club because “he suffered harm to his professional image due to the claimed lack of proper training and preparation opportunities”.

Bonucci also missed the Serie A team’s preseason trip to the United States last month.

The Euro 2020 winner is alleged to not be seeking personal gain from the legal action, and sees it more as a matter of principle.

It’s claimed that any money he is awarded will go to children’s hospital Neuroland.-Soccer24 News

Mnangagwa DJ Property Attached Over Unpaid Bills

Bonucci Sues Juventus

Eight Injured During Police, Bosso Fans Skirmishes

ED Mnangagwa Has Nothing To Apologise for Appointing His Qualified Relatives: Mavaza

“Presidential Appointments and Nepotism: A Perspective”

By Dr. Masimba Mavaza | President ED Mnangagwa may appoint qualified relatives without the need for apologies. However, the practice of appointing close friends and family has raised concerns about nepotism in government hiring. It’s worth considering whether rules against nepotism should be established to prevent the executive branch from becoming a family enterprise. Currently, Zimbabwe lacks specific regulations governing presidential appointments to the cabinet.

In selecting personal staff and the cabinet, the President has considerable freedom, aligned with the constitutional demands of his office. While the blame for appointments ultimately falls on the elected President, it’s crucial to note that the President has the authority to appoint and set the pay of the cabinet members, independent of other laws regulating government employment.

The debate over restricting the President’s appointment powers, particularly regarding close relatives, has stirred discussion on social media. Some argue that such restrictions should not apply to presidential appointments since the Cabinet and the State House are not considered executive agencies but part of the President’s office.

Zimbabwe’s situation resembles a “bootstrap” meritocracy, where the most qualified individuals, even if related to the President, should assume roles based on their qualifications. It’s essential to recognize that there is no evidence suggesting a lack of due diligence in these appointments.

During the 2023 campaign, President ED Mnangagwa pledged to surround himself with the “best” and “most serious,” which is reflected in his announced cabinet. As long as appointees are qualified and possess the necessary credentials, there should be no need for apologies.

Accusations of nepotism should be evaluated based on merit, and appointments of family members should be exceptions rather than the norm. President Mnangagwa has emphasized that if qualified individuals are available, there is no reason for apologies.

While nepotism can erode trust in government and lead to unqualified appointments, the current appointments do not exhibit nepotism. ZACC (Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission) plays a crucial role in preventing corruption by having the authority to investigate even the President’s appointees.

Presidential nepotism is not unique to Zimbabwe but has occurred in various countries, including the United States. It’s important to recognize that the issue is not about personal enrichment but rather the potential challenge of addressing incompetence within family appointments.

In summary, while the debate on presidential appointments and nepotism continues, it’s essential to consider qualifications and merit when assessing these appointments. ZACC’s role in preventing corruption is crucial, and appointments should prioritize competence over familial relations.

Don’t Lose Focus, President Chamisa Implores Nation

Tinashe Sambiri

CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa has implored the nation to maintain focus despite the deepening crisis in the country.

The CCC leader flatly rejected the outcome of the 2023 polls citing irregularities in electoral processes.

The SADC EOM last month accused the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of deliberately titling results in favour Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Zanu PF party.

Writing on his official Facebook page, President Chamisa said:

Importance of SADC Relations for Zimbabwe: A Closer Look at the Consequences of Antagonism

Kennedy Masiye

By Kennedy Masiye | Zimbabwe finds itself at a critical crossroads as concerns grow over the lack of free and fair elections within its borders held on August 28-29, 2023. In this context, it is crucial for Zimbabwe to carefully consider its relationship with the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Zimbabwe is a founder Member State of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), having been one of the nine countries that formed the Southern African Development Coordination Conference (SADCC) in Lusaka, Zambia, in April 1980. SADCC transformed into SADC in 1992 with the signing of the SADC Treaty in Windhoek, Namibia.

Antagonizing the regional body would have severe repercussions for Zimbabwe’ stability, economy, and international standing. This article will delve into why it is in Zimbabwe’s best interest to maintain a positive rapport with SADC, while highlighting the potential backlash that would arise from a decision to withdraw.

1. Economic Consequences:

SADC membership has been instrumental in driving economic growth and development in Zimbabwe. The organization provides preferential trade agreements and market access to member countries, fostering regional trade and investment. By withdrawing from SADC, Zimbabwe would risk losing these economic benefits. Reduced trade opportunities, diminished foreign direct investment, and potential economic isolation would significantly impact the nation’s prosperity and impede its path to recovery.

2. Political Isolation:

SADC plays a pivotal role in regional politics and diplomacy, acting as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among member states. By antagonizing SADC and disregarding warnings about flawed elections, Zimbabwe risks political isolation within the region. This isolation would hinder its ability to engage in regional decision-making processes, resolve conflicts, and garner support from neighboring countries during times of crisis.

3. Security Concerns:

SADC places strong emphasis on promoting peace, stability, and security within the region. By ignoring concerns about the legitimacy of elections, Zimbabwe could jeopardize its security cooperation with SADC member states. This collaboration includes joint military exercises, intelligence sharing, and coordinated efforts to combat transnational crime. Withdrawal from SADC would undermine these critical security partnerships and potentially leave Zimbabwe more vulnerable to security threats.

4. Legal Implications:

Zimbabwe’s membership in SADC is governed by the SADC Treaty and various protocols that outline the principles and obligations of member states. These agreements encompass democratic governance, human rights, and the rule of law. A decision to withdraw from SADC would likely breach these legal commitments, leading to diplomatic disputes and potential legal repercussions. Such a scenario would further strain Zimbabwe’s international reputation and erode trust among its regional partners.

5. Diminished Regional Influence:

SADC provides Zimbabwe with a platform to exert regional influence and participate in shaping policies and initiatives. By severing ties with SADC, Zimbabwe would forfeit its voice in regional decision-making processes, making it more challenging to advance its own interests and concerns within the Southern African region. This diminished influence would impede Zimbabwe’s ability to advocate for its priorities and seek regional support for its developmental goals.

Conclusion:

Maintaining a positive and constructive relationship with SADC is of paramount importance for Zimbabwe’s stability, prosperity, and integration within the Southern African region. Antagonizing SADC and ignoring warnings about flawed elections would result in severe consequences. These include economic disadvantages, political isolation, security concerns, potential legal implications, and a diminished regional influence. It is in Zimbabwe’s best interest to heed the warnings, address electoral concerns, and work collaboratively with SADC to uphold democratic principles, thereby securing a brighter future for the nation and its people.

Mining Virtues, Dynamics

Just like every industry mining has zero beginning where you begin with absolute nothing or with little amounts of less than 100usd .

By nature mining is a very high expenditure business thousands of united States dollars are needed to run a successful mining business sometimes with no returns .

We are going to take you through a short but powerful account of how to begin at zero step by step .

Step 1
Be interested in mining stories read and listen to as many mining stories in detail asking keen and clear questions.

Artisanal miners have a lot of stories to tell each story has a specific detail that is clue to how you can start from zero . By this way you will be informally introducing yourself to it .
Befriend someone in mining.

Deliberately choose a friend who regularly goes to the mine be very close friend. By so doing you receive mining updates and stories for free . You will learn mining terms risks and rewards fast .

3 visit the mines regularly.

Now that you have a friend visit the mines with him regularly to assess the situation and listen to more mining stories from others stay there for a long time sometimes even 12hrs or two days continuously.

4 identify areas of need within your friend’s network.

At this stage visit with a secret book identify needs that would let you in . The easiest is food just buy relish for them for free and start asking direct question how can you be of help .

NB don’t over promise or over commit yourself if you don’t yet understand the risky .

Pause : mining is so risky and ugly the losses are fatal we have lost money huge amounts never to receive it back don’t let the “reward stories ” force you to sell valuable property or use school fees for your kids to invest these “reward stories are structured to lure you .

Lists of free entry points no cent just you .

1 use your own hands join the team with intention of raising money to invest back for those working join night shift before list what you want to do with the money .

Below are inputs and values
A box of explosives sets 330usd
A drum of diesel market price
A compressor set 2000usd
Pegging a mine 3000usd.

Never mind the amount using your hands increases the chances of high returns .

2 link with an investor with huge financial muscles and get double share .

3 identify and bring an expert who improve production
Low income entry points in values
1 food and lighting 100usd
50kg mealie
Cooking oil 5litres
Salt
Relish
Torches
Rare cheap entry points
Buying food during milling of ore 400rands or less
Covering a member who felt ill or absent temporarily by some un forseen means .

At this time you have a vision what you want to do this is a list of what you can permanently do
1 be food and relish provider for as many teams as you can .

2 provide transport for life
3 provide explosives and diesel
4 provide compressor or diesel powered windlass
5 build tanks for cyanide process
6 fund workers for none work related needs . This is risky needs a careful study.

CCC Responds To Mnangagwa’s Cabinet Announcement

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has come under fire for his unpopular decision to enlarge his cabinet while maintaining faith in a bunch of politicians who were either rejected by the electorate or simply failed to deliver in their previous mandate.

In a statement, CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi described the new cabinet as the worst in the history of the country after the Zimbabwean leader also staffed it with family members and cronies.

In his cabinet, Mnangagwa drafted in his son David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa as deputy finance minister and his nephew, Tongai Mafidhi Mnangagwa as deputy minister of tourism and hospitality.

Mnangagwa also retained close allies Ziyambi Ziyambi, July Moyo, Kindness Paradza who lost Zanu PF primaries and did not contest the August 23 elections.

He went on to appoint 9 non-constituency ministers against the constitutionally recommended 7.

Reacting to the appointments Tuesday, Mkwananzi said the new cabinet was inspired by a bid by the Zimbabwe incumbent to persist on his line of patronage.

“Constituted of his friends, family, loyalists and the least qualified, the cabinet is the worst since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980,” he said.

“It shows no interest in a positive legacy and no attempt to spur positive development. It is yet another missed leadership opportunity for Mnangagwa.”

Mkwananzi said, “The reappointment of old and tired loyalists exacerbates concerns about the lack of commitment to fresh perspectives and innovative ideas within the regime.

“It is also concerning that to accommodate friends and family, Mr Mnangagwa has expanded the cabinet from the previous 22 to 26 ministries or government departments.

“The bloated cabinet raises serious questions about the regime’s commitment to using the nation’s resources prudently.”

CCC Legislator Summoned To Police

Newly elected Sunningdale legislator Maureen Kademaunga has been summoned to Harare Central Police law and order for a yet to be disclosed offence.

Kademaunga defeated Zanu PF candidate Loice Magweba in the 23 August parliamentary elections and was sworn in as a legisator for Sunningdale last week.

Zim- Zambia Relations At All Time Low

Relations between Zimbabwe and Zambia have become strained as supporters of President Hichilema Hakainde’s United Party for National Development (UPND) denounced Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu-PF during the reopening of the Kongola copper mines in Chingola and Chililabombwe in the Copperbelt province.

Videos circulating on social media show UPND supporters accusing Zanu-PF officials, including Patrick Chinamasa, of attempting to destabilize Zambia. These tensions have arisen partly due to differences in political views and actions taken during Zimbabwe’s recent elections. Hichilema’s Sadc election observer mission had released a report critical of Zimbabwe’s elections, which further exacerbated the situation.

Accusations of interference and plots against the Zambian President have heightened tensions between the two countries.

UPND Secretary-General Batuke Imenda confirmed the protests, although he mentioned being hospitalized at the time.

The protesters targeted Chinamasa and a Zanu-PF sympathizer, Rutendo Matinyarare, accusing them of planning harm to the Zambian President. Protests, chants, and placards have all contributed to the escalation of tensions between Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Chinamasa, in response, accused the late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa of working with Western countries to effect regime change in Zimbabwe. He also criticized Hichilema and former Zambian Vice-President Nevers Mumba for their actions and affiliations with “imperialism.”

These accusations and tensions have strained the historically close relationship between the two countries.

ZEC Summons Presiding Officers

Presiding and polling officers have been called back to Bhasera, the command center for Gutu East Constituency.

It is not clear what they are going to be doing there since reopening of ballot boxes can only happen through a court order. Most of the polling officers are on their way to Bhasera now.

There is suspicion of massive rigging in Gutu East where Benjamin Ganyiwa of Zanu PF garnered the highest number of votes despite being the most unpopular of the three candidates.

Tribute To Malinga

Condolence Message by His Excellency the President, Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, following the passing on of Cde Joshua Teke Malinga, Harare, 10th September, 2023.

I learnt with a deep sense of grief and sadness of the passing on last Friday of Cde Joshua Teke Malinga, following a brave fight against a malignant form of prostrate cancer.

A Nationalist stalwart and vocal proponent of disability rights, the late Cde Malinga was a leading voice both in the ruling Party, Zanu PF, and in Government on disability issues, including ensuring, in his capacity as my special advisor, that Government policy was alive and sensitive to interests of disabled persons across gender, age, class or colour. My decision to appoint him to advise me on this all-important yet often easily overlooked area was informed by his unequivocal and fervent interest in protecting and defending the rights of disabled persons.

A victim of polio at a tender age of 2, the late Cde Malinga’s illustrious life and career bore testimony to the fact that circumstances of disability need not diminish one’s ability and life chances.

For him, disability became a spur to an exceptional life and career, including courageously participating and sharing in the risks of nationalist politics, and in the struggle for our Independence. An accounting graduate, Cde Malinga rose through the ranks of the country’s nationalist politics until he was elevated to the Central Committee and, later to the Politburo of the ruling Party, Zanu PF which he served with utmost loyalty, even as his health gradually failed and deserted him. He never missed any Party functions or meetings.

A two-time Executive Mayor of our second capital, Bulawayo, the late Cde Malinga, personified diligence and integrity in civil and municipal matters, virtues woefully scarce nowadays. His wise leadership and profound counsel will thus be sorely missed at different echelons of our Party, our Government and our Nation.

May I, on behalf of our Nation, the ruling Zanu PF Party, Government, my Family and on my behalf, express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to the Malinga Family on this their saddest loss. May they derive solace from the knowledge that the Nation in whose defence and interest Cde Malinga was put under illegal sanctions, today joins them in mourning his sad, untimely demise, and in according him deserved honours and a befitting farewell.

In recognition of his distinguished role in the struggle for our Independence, in the development of our Nation since its inception, and in championing the cause of special interest groups in public policy and national development, the ruling Zanu PF Party has unanimously decided to accord Cde Malinga National Hero Status.

May his dear soul rest in eternal peace.

E.D. Mnangagwa
PRESIDENT

Mnangagwa Fails To Pay PA System Bills

Mnangagwa DJ Property Attached Over Outstanding PA System Bills

Will Mnangagwa’s Kids Also Declare Assets As Govt Expects CCC MPs?

Scrutiny Mounts on Declaration of Assets for Zimbabwean MPs; Focus on Mnangagwa’s Children in Cabinet.

Harare, Zimbabwe – As newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) settle into their roles, questions arise about whether the four children of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who hold senior cabinet positions, will also declare their assets in accordance with constitutional requirements. The MPs, who were sworn in last week, are facing a November 7 deadline to submit their lists of financial interests to Parliament, in line with both the Constitution and parliamentary rules.

The swearing-in of MPs from both the National Assembly and Senate marked the commencement of the 10th Parliament, following the resounding victory of the ruling Zanu-PF party in the August 23 harmonized elections.

Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Kennedy Chokuda, reminded parliamentarians of their obligation to declare their interests during his remarks following the elections of the two presiding officers last Friday. He cited Section 198 of the Constitution, in conjunction with the Senate’s Standing Order Number 50 and the National Assembly’s Standing Order Number 51, which mandate all members to register their financial interests with the Clerk of Parliament.

Members have a 60-day window from the day they take their oath of office to complete this registration. Failure to comply with this requirement is deemed contempt of Parliament.

The asset declaration requirement for legislators and Cabinet Ministers was initially implemented during the Sixth Parliament. In 2016, the Parliament’s Standing Rules and Orders Committee approved a draft Asset Declaration Register that outlines the types of assets MPs are expected to declare.

These assets include land within and outside Zimbabwe, buildings, movable assets, financial assets, and high-value items such as jewelry exceeding US$25,000 in worth. The asset declaration process aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust in public office holders, while also addressing speculation surrounding the accumulation of wealth by certain individuals in public office.

The question of whether President Mnangagwa’s children, who hold influential positions in the cabinet, will comply with these asset declaration requirements adds an intriguing dimension to the ongoing discussions about transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

As the deadline approaches, Zimbabweans and observers await the declarations from their elected representatives and the potential implications for those who may not fully adhere to these regulations.

Police Injured At Barbourfields

Violence Erupts at Dynamos vs. Highlanders Soccer Match; Police Condemn Hooliganism

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – Chaos and violence marred a highly anticipated soccer match between Dynamos and Highlanders on Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium, leaving eight people injured, including four police officers, and three police vehicles damaged. The incident has sparked outrage and condemnation from law enforcement agencies and officials.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi issued a statement strongly condemning the outbreak of violence during the Premier Soccer League match. He stated, “The Zimbabwe Republic Police condemns all forms of public violence at soccer matches in the country and will ensure that arrests are effected on hooligans without fear or favour.”

The violent incident unfolded when fans invaded the pitch and engaged in clashes during the match. Preliminary investigations revealed that four police officers and four members of the public sustained injuries during the pitch invasion and subsequent violence within the stadium. Additionally, three police vehicles were stoned and damaged by soccer hooligans.

Nyathi emphasized that the police acted professionally to contain the situation and avoid further harm. Tear gas was not deployed within the stadium to prevent stampedes or injuries to fans. Instead, the police cooperated with marshals to maintain order.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police managed to evacuate soccer players, match officials, and VVIPs from the stadium and sought reinforcement to assist in containing the situation. Tear gas was only used outside the stadium to disperse the violent crowd who openly threw stones and other objects at police officers,” he explained.

In a concerning development, Assistant Commissioner Nyathi expressed the police’s concern about certain politicians attempting to exploit the high-profile soccer match to incite violence before, during, and after the event. He warned that such political activists risked arrest for inciting violence at soccer matches.

Furthermore, the police are appealing to the public for information that can help identify and locate the suspects involved in the violence at Barbourfields Stadium. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the National Complaints Desk at (0242) 703631 or via WhatsApp at 0712 800 197.

Assistant Commissioner Nyathi concluded by emphasizing that the law would take its course on hooligans at soccer matches, leaving no stone unturned in holding the suspects accountable for their actions.

This incident comes in the wake of increased scrutiny on social media messages inciting unlawful activities and disturbances in the country, prompting the Police Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga to issue stern warnings to unruly elements engaging in actions that could destabilize Zimbabwe. The investigation into these social media posts is ongoing.- state media

Mnangagwa Home Police Arrest Gay Couple

? Breaking News: Kwekwe Police Arrest Gay Couple on Sodomy Charges After Deception Unveiled ?

Kwekwe, Midlands Province- Kwekwe police have taken into custody a gay couple following an unusual complaint that led to shocking revelations. The incident unfolded when one of the partners approached the authorities, demanding the arrest of his significant other due to an initial deception – the belief that his partner was a woman.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, revealed that after a thorough investigation, both men have been apprehended. The investigation uncovered that the couple had been residing together since July, engaging in consensual same-sex activities.

Insp Mahoko provided details of the case, stating, “It is alleged that during the month of July, on an unknown date, one of the suspects, James Mapawu (40) of Narrans Building in Kwekwe, met with Praise Mapawu (25) in a nightclub. Praise Mapawu had been disguised as a woman, leading James Mapawu to believe he was interacting with a member of the opposite sex.”

Love blossomed between the two, leading to them cohabiting while primarily engaging in same-sex relations.

However, tensions between the couple reached a breaking point when a recent intimate encounter took an unexpected turn, resulting in an argument. As they were cuddling in preparation for intimacy, Mapawu became aroused, triggering the dispute.

In a surprising twist, it was Joshua Mpofu who reported the incident to the police, culminating in the arrest of both partners. They now face charges related to sodomy, a legal offense in Zimbabwe that carries significant consequences.

This case has ignited discussions surrounding the complexities of gender identity, relationship dynamics, and the legal status of same-sex relationships in the region. The judicial system in Kwekwe will soon decide how to proceed with this unique and contentious case.

As this story develops, it serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in certain parts of the world, where societal prejudices and legal restrictions continue to impact their rights and well-being.

How ZEC Blocked Voters

?On 18/08/2023, the chief elections officer of @ZECzim , Utoile Silaigwana, stated that they had printed a total of 7,126,600 presidential ballots, 7,098,750 national assembly ballot papers, and 6,861,650 local authority ballot papers.

However, just five days later, there was a significant shortage of ballot papers across the country, where an estimated 6,623,511 registered voters were expected to cast their votes.

Moving forward, after the chaotic, disorganized, and fraudulent elections, ZEC disclosed that only 4,561,221 votes were cast, leaving 2,062,290 registered voters unable to exercise their right to vote due to an inadequate election process marked by irregularities and fraud.

The question arises: what happened to the 2,300,429 missing local authority ballot papers on the day of the election?

The only plausible answer is that ZEC grossly failed to fulfill its constitutional obligations, necessitating the urgent need for a #FreshElectionZW??.

Mnangagwa Mourns Malinga

E.D. Mnangagwa

ZEC Shenanigans Exposed

Presiding and polling officers have been called back to Bhasera, the command center for Gutu East Constituency.

It is not clear what they are going to be doing there since reopening of ballot boxes can only happen through a court order. Most of the polling officers are on their way to Bhasera now.

There is suspicion of massive rigging in Gutu East where Benjamin Ganyiwa of Zanu PF garnered the highest number of votes despite being the most unpopular of the three candidates.

Bosso Fans Overpower Cops

The Castle Lager Premiership Matchday 22 encounter between Dynamos and Highlanders has been abandoned due to crowd trouble at Barbourfields Stadium.

The play was stopped after thirty-five minutes, just moments after Dembare’s second goal.

The chaos started when fans at the Soweto End threw missles on the pitch before invading the pitch.

The Glamour Boys, who are hosting their home games in Bulawayo due to the unavailability of football venues in Harare, had doubled their lead through Frank Makarati’s header on the 35th minute.

Keith Madera opened the scoring as early as in the 2nd minute.

Players and coaching staff from both sides were forced to return to the dressing rooms awaiting communication from the officials.

After a lengthy stoppage, a decision to abandon the match was made.

The final outcome of the match will be decided by the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee and Dynamos are likely to be awarded the game on a 3-0 scoreline.- Soccer24 News

Components Of Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival. However, contrary to WHO recommendations, fewer than half of infants under 6 months old are exclusively breastfed.

Breastmilk is the ideal food for infants. It is safe, clean and contains antibodies which help protect against many common childhood illnesses. Breastmilk provides all the energy and nutrients that the infant needs for the first months of life, and it continues to provide up to half or more of a child’s nutritional needs during the second half of the first year, and up to one third during the second year of life.

Breastfed children perform better on intelligence tests, are less likely to be overweight or obese and less prone to diabetes later in life. Women who breastfeed also have a reduced risk of breast and ovarian cancers.

Inappropriate marketing of breast-milk substitutes continues to undermine efforts to improve breastfeeding rates and duration worldwide.

Basics Of Mining

5 build tanks fir cyanide process
6 fund workers for none work related needs . This is risky needs a careful study.

Exposing ZEC Shenanigans

“Disputed polls worsening voter apathy.” Stop using sticky band-aid to fix broken limb – vote rigging.

By Wilbert Mukori- “Disputed polls to worsen voter apathy” proclaimed Bulawayo 24 headline.

“The frequency of disputed elections in Zimbabwe, the most recent being the August 23 polls, will discourage more registered voters from participating in electoral processes, electoral watchdogs and analysts have warned,” said the report.

“CCC has accused Mnangagwa and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) of election fraud and is calling for fresh elections.

“According to ZEC, about two million registered voters failed to vote out of approximately 6,6 million eligible voters, a trend analysts said was worrying.”

Blaming the voter apathy is the default setting of some analysts and opposition politicians alike but none of this would stand close scrutiny.

MDC/CCC’s flagship winning in rigged elections strategy after the 2018 elections was “mass voter registration, mass voting and guard the vote!” The party promised to register 6 million new voters, most the young. Four years down the line, 30 May 2022, ZEC announced that only 1/4 million new voters had registered. Even if we assumed that they were all CCC supporters, that was only 4% of the party’s 6 million target.

It is common knowledge that Harare had only two voter registration centres, that to register one needed an ID which were hard to get, etc., etc. Even if one jumped all these obstacles, this was no guarantee one would be on the voters’ roll.

In 1995 I arm-twisted nine people to make sure they registered to vote. I saw their voter registration slips with my own eyes. When the voters’ roll was realised only one out of nine was on the voters’ roll.

With each election ZEC has added more and more complexities for the sole purpose of denying the people their right to a meaningful say. Many people who had checked and confirmed they were on the national voters’ roll failed to vote on 23 August 2023 because their details were not in the polling station they expected.

The nation has moved from a constituency voters’ roll to a polling station voters’ roll. And the number of polling stations has increased from 10 or so in 2008 to over 60 this years. Voting in Zimbabwe is a game of Russian Roulette. Whilst Zanu PF officials got the up to date voters’ roll with all the details of the voter, which polling station and even mobile numbers. The opposition candidate got the out dated voters’ roll with many of the details missing.

Zimbabwe’s electoral problem is not voter apathy per se but vote rigging. The MDC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU designed to free key state institutions like ZEC to carry out their duties of ensuring free, fair and credible elections.

Morgan Tsvangirai et al failed to implement even one token reform in five years because they believed MDC would ride on their popularity and win rigged elections. Ever since the GNU debacle, MDC/CCC have all but abandoned efforts to implement democratic reforms in pursuit of the more nebulous winning in rigged elections strategies.

It the Russian dictator Joseph Stalin who infamously said, “It is not those who cast the vote who matter but those who count the votes!”

In Zimbabwe we know Zanu PF has carte blanche powers to rig elections, it is insane to hope to win rigged elections especially after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections. We should focus on implementing the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections and only then can we meaningful address the problem of voter.

Both SADC and AU had condemned the 23 August 2023 Zimbabwe elections as flawed and illegal, so flawed the process could not produce a legitimate government. This is a repeat of what happened in the 2008 elections marred by Zanu PF’s blatant cheating and wanton violence. The country was forced to form a GNU whose primary task was to implement the democratic reforms to stop the blatant cheating and wanton violence. As we know not even one meaningful reform was implemented hence the reason we have yet another flawed and illegal election.

Zimbabwe we need a new GNU, just as happened in 2008, only this time we must implement all the democratic reforms without failure! We must cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance, no if no but!

“CCC has accused Mnangagwa and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) of election fraud and is calling for fresh elections.”

In MDC/CCC we have a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless opposition. They accuse Mnangagwa and ZEC of rigging the elections one minute and, next minute, they are refusing to implement reforms because they have winning in rigged elections strategies. Given a chance Chamisa and company will want to stampede the nation into fresh elections with not even one democratic reform implemented. A situation that would suit Zanu PF to a t.

The new GNU must implement all the democratic reforms without failure. Neither Zanu PF nor CCC can be trusted to do this, if they failed to get even one token reform implemented in 5 years in the last GNU what is there to suggest they will do any better this time.

Ian Makone Lands Harare Mayoral Post

By-The opposition CCC Ward 18 Councillor Ian Makone has landed the post of Mayor of Harare.

He will be deputised by Ward 41 Cllr Kudzai Kadzombe.
Cllr Temany Utete (Zanu PF) and Cllr Ian Makone were nominated for the mayoral post while Cllr Susan Chuma (Zanu PF Women’s Quota) and Cllr Kadzombe were nominated for the post of deputy mayor.

ED leaves Zimbos guessing on cabinet appointments

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has kept Zimbabwe guessing on his next Cabinet amid reports of spirited lobbying among some of the Zanu-PF members who won parliamentary seats in last month’s polls.

Mnangagwa is expected to appoint 22 Cabinet ministers and their deputies from the 136 newly-elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to kick-start government business after he was sworn-in on Monday last week.

Mnangagwa witnessed the swearing-in of his two deputies Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi at State House on Friday last week.

Sources in the ruling Zanu-PF party yesterday said Zimbabwe should expect a new Cabinet in the next coming days.

“We will be having our new Cabinet in the next few days. Some people are losing money for nothing to the Office of the President and Zanu-PF heavyweights saying they will lobby for them, but really, they will not do anything since it’s the discretion of the President Emmerson Mnangagwa,” one source said.

“Appointment of the Cabinet is at President Mnangagwa’s discretion. The President might not need to consult anyone and he might choose to consult his deputies if there is need.”

Other sources said former State Security minister Owen “Mudha” Ncube could bounce back after being sacked over alleged indiscipline.

“Former State Security minister Owen Ncube is set to bounce back in the new Cabinet as he has been disciplined enough,” another source said.

In Manicaland province, two MPs, Joshua Sacco of the Chimanimani East constituency, is reportedly a strong contender for a ministerial position, so is former Information and Technology minister Supa Mandiwanzira.

Angelina Gata is being touted to be the new Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister after Nokuthula Matsikenyeri lost the race to represent Chimanimani West in the Zanu-PF primaries.

Mnangagwa is highly expected to re-appoint Mthuli Ncube as Finance minister and Anxious Masuka as Agriculture minister.

During the Zanu-PF campaigns ahead of the August elections, Mnangagwa  said Masuka was one of his best ministers.

Information, Communication Technology minister Jenfan Muswere could also be re-appointed.

There are reported reservations on other posts, including that held by former Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa.

Mnangagwa’s work is cut out as he plays a delicate balancing act in choosing the ministers and their deputies from all the country’s provinces.

Zanu-PF acting director for information Farai Marapira said he was not aware of the lobbying by Zanu-PF legislators.

“We are not aware of the lobbying by our MPs. How do you lobby? This is President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s discretion in such appointments. I’m trying to think how one can lobby. It’s not that easy,” he said.

Lovebirds crushed by goods train

A Beitbridge man employed by Bitumen World and his lover were on Saturday night fatally crushed by a goods train on the railway line about 60 kilometres north of Beitbridge along the track to Rutenga.

The man was off duty and apparently was spending some time with his lover on the rail line when they were crushed to death.

When contacted for a comment by NewsDay, ZRP’s officer commanding Beitbridge Police District Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo said he was not in the district and was not aware of the incident.

However, Bitumen World director Andre Zietsman confirmed the incident to NewsDay, saying their employee was off duty when he died.

Yes, in his off time, he went and slept on the rail tracks and unfortunately, a train crushed him.

Bitumen World is one of the five companies upgrading the Harare-Beitbridge Highway and has its main camp near the site of the accident.

NewsDay reported a source as saying the now-deceased took a mattress and laid it across the rail line where he invited his lover.

It is suspected that the two were crushed to death in their sleep. Said the source:

Police were, literally, picking up pieces of the two lovers after the accident.

The names of the deceased were not yet to be made public.

CCC will thwart all Zanu PF mischief – exactly what Muzorewa said to justify Smith’s Zimbabwe – Rhodesia

By Wilbert Mukori- On 25 August 2023 SADC and AU Election Observer Missions declared the Zimbabwe elections flawed and illegal.

The damning report had no effect on Zanu PF and the opposition winning candidates who all trooped to take their oath of office and, most importantly, their gravy train seat. They all ignored SADC and AU findings, pretending they don’t know the difference between legal and illegal.

CCC spokesperson Promise Mkhwananzi told The Standard that the opposition party’s legislators would thwart any Zanu-PF mischief’ in the 10th Parliament.

“Using our numbers, youth energy, and intellect, we will prevail through robust debate and progressive policy advancement as guided by the objectives of the party,” Mkhwananzi said.

This is exactly what Abel Muzorewa and Ndabaningi Sithole said to justify their participation in the 1978 Zimbabwe-Rhodesia Internal Settlement. The truth is the Zimbabwe-Rhodesia government was illegal because it came from a flawed, illegal and undemocratic political arrangement in which the blacks were treated as second class citizens who vote was devalued compared to that of the whites for no other reason other than that of race.

Still Muzorewa, Sithole and their supporters went to town in supporter of the racist regime. Indeed, their supporters joined the Rhodesia Army on mass to fight with the white army in the ongoing war of independence. They were fighting fellow blacks fighting to end white racism.

CCC leaders agree with SADC, AU and every other democratic election observer team that Zimbabwe’s 23 August 2023 elections flawed and illegal so flawed and illegal the process could not produce a legitimate result. In other words winners of the local authority, parliament and presidential rat races announced by ZEC do not have the democratic mandate of the people of Zimbabwe. All the institutions formed by these illegal winners are, per se, illegitimate.

It therefore beggars belief why CCC leaders are hell bent to ignore the SADC and everyone to insist in keeping these illegal institutions and even claiming they would make them work for the good of the people – just as Muzorewa insisted he would make white racism work for blacks. We really should not be surprised with the CCC leaders.

Remember that CCC leaders decided to participate in these flawed 2023 elections, as with others in the past, knowing fully well the election process is flawed and participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy. They soldiered on and participated out of greed.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Indeed, these CCC leaders failed to implement even one democratic reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, when the nation had its get-out-of-jail card, for the same reasons they are hell-bent in participating in this illegitimate government – greed and breath-taking incompetence.

Zimbabwe’s newly sworn in MPs and senators will receive their US$60 000 and US$ 40 000 car and housing loan, plus the generous salary and allowances. In a country where a teacher with ten years working experience earns US$100 per month holding public office for five years is the sure ticket to Easy Street!

“Our focus is on electoral reforms in time for a fresh election,” continued Promise Mkhwananzi.

Yeah right! MDC leaders failed to implement even one democratic reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had all the trump cards including SADC’s backing, we are to believe they will do so now when Zanu PF has all the trump cards notably the sure ticket to Easy Street.

CCC participated in these elections without these electoral reforms, come 2028 the party will participate in these elections with no reforms again. This is just a mirage! The people of Zimbabwe must wise up and stop being led by the nose like a bull at the market.

By declaring the 23 August 2023 election null and void SADC has created the opportunity for a new GNU it is incumbent on all thinking Zimbabweans to back SADC 100%. We must totally reject CCC’s hen’s teeth tales they can make this illegitimate system work. Both Zanu PF and CCC are now the problem holding the nation to ransom, they can never ever be the solution too! Never ever!

CCC will thwart all Zanu PF mischief! What a load of bull especially when MDC/CCC has failed to implement even one token reform to thwart the most Zanu PF’s obnoxious mischief of all – rigging elections!

The most important fight before us today is the fight for reforms to secure every Zimbabwean’s right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. Nothing of any substance can ever be achieved util the right to free, fair and credible elections is secured and guaranteed for all and not just the urban few.

Mliswa’s Advise to ED- “Scrap POLAD and engage Chamisa directly”

Former Norton MP, Temba Mliswa (Independent), has urged President Emmerson Mnangagwa to reach out to opposition CCC party leader Nelson Chamisa to discuss national issues, especially the welfare of the people.

Mnangagwa was sworn in on 04 September for his second and final term as President, following his victory in the 23 August election.

Since then, the Members of Parliament, the two Vice Presidents, and Local Authority representatives have been sworn in.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Mliswa said the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) is not the right platform for Mnangagwa to engage Chamisa but that the two should rather meet one-on-one. Said Mliswa:

Now that we have completed all political processes from the Presidency to Councils wouldn’t it be wise for the President to meet with Chamisa?

The POLAD platform isn’t ideal & warrants an alternative platform just for the two of them to discuss national issues and progress.

The agenda should focus on the country, the people and their welfare. CCC had its own manifesto relating to the same and that can be incorporated into what the ruling government seeks to do. That inclusive approach will go a long way in helping us as a nation.

I hope and pray for such kind of interactions… We can’t continue having fights and frictions. We must stop being emotional and recognise each other’s role and use in national development.

As it is the opposition has some positions in Gvt but it is ED who has the actual power. There is a need for collaboration for any progress otherwise the opposition won’t have much impact and there will be no synergy between the two.

However, political commentator Brighton Mutebuka said it was premature for Mnangagwa to engage Chamisa as the regional body, SADC “is currently seized with the matter”. He said:

I regret to advise you that ED is currently facing very serious allegations of having contrived with ZEC to steal the election.

SADC is currently seized with the matter, so it’s effectively sub judice. The better counsel is to await the outcome of that process.

At present, despite his best efforts to present a semblance of normalcy, ED is, regrettably technically considered to be masquerading as a democratically elected President of Zimbabwe.

I trust that you shall be guided accordingly. Free elections matter ever so profoundly, as many perished for that noble cause.

In a previous statement, SADC’s Electoral Observer Mission (SEOM) said that the manner in which the Harmonised Elections were conducted “fell short of the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections…”

D-Day For Serial Criminal Thabo Bester’s Girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana

The Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court is expected to rule on Monday if Dr Nandipha Magudumana will be granted bail or if she will spend more time behind bars.

Magudumana applied for bail for the first time two weeks ago since her arrest in April.

Magudumana was arrested with her lover, convicted rapist and murderer, Thabo Bester, who faked his death at the Mangaung Correctional Centre and escaped in May last year. Magudumana was allegedly a central figure in planning and co-ordinating Bester’s escape, the State describing her as a mastermind.

However, Magudumana has claimed in court that she had not escaped the country with Bester, but, she claimed Bester, her lover, had kidnapped her and forced her into a car before they were arrested in Arusha, Tanzania, more than 3,000 kilometres away from Johannesburg.

The State said Magudumana had rented rooms at upmarket boutique hotels in Bloemfontein around the time Bester escape.

Bester, with the help of at least 12 people, including Magudumana and former G4S employees, escaped from the privately-run Mangaung Correctional Centre in May last year. He had been serving a life sentence for rape and murder.

She is facing multiple charges of fraud, violating a body, corruption, arson, assisting an inmate to escape, harbouring and concealing an escaped prisoner, and defeating the ends of justice.

State Prosecutor advocate Sello Matlhoko has opposed Magudumana’s release on bail, telling the court she was a flight risk who was facing serious charges.

Matlhoko also told the court that Magudumana was a married woman who had deserted her daughters to elope with Bester.

The State also said she was facing fraud charges to the tune of over R20 million in other cases.

The bail application was a Schedule 5 offence charge, which meant it was the burden of the defence to show cause why she should be granted bail.

“They have been saying the State has failed to prove this and that. What does our law say?

“Schedule 5 says where an accused is charged, the court shall order they be detained unless the accused, having been given a reasonable opportunity to do so, adduce evidence which satisfies his or her release. The duty is on the applicant to adduce evidence,” said Matlhoko.

Matlhoko said Magudumana had not given the court any details about her supposed kidnapping.

IOL reported last week that Magudumana was willing to pay R10,000 bail if it were to be granted. She told the court she would reside with her friend in Douglasdale, Dr Michelle Chibaya, a naturalised South African with Zimbabwean roots.

Bail judgment is expected on Monday.

Other accused in the Bester matter are former G4S prison warder Senohe Matsoara, Zanda Moyo, Zolile Cornelius Sekeleni, former Integritron Integrated Solutions camera technician Teboho Lipholo, suspended G4S employee Tieho Frans Makhotsa, former G4S guard Buti Masukela, suspended G4S employee Natassja Jansen and G4S employees, Joel Makhetha, Moeketsi Ramolula and Thabang Mier, who were all granted bail.

CCC Will Thwart All Zanu PF Mischief – Exactly What Muzorewa Said to Justify Smithy’s Zimbabwe – Rhodesia

By Wilbert Mukori| On 25 August 2023 SADC and AU Election Observer Missions declared the Zimbabwe elections flawed and illegal.
