Ngezi Platinum Fly High

TITLE aspirants Ngezi Platinum Stars continued their championship pursuit after extending their lead at the summit of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings this Saturday.

With fate lying entirely in their hands after Highlanders’ three-game slumber, Ngezi Platinum had a bullish business day against Green Fuel this Saturday.

Fully aware of what is at stake, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League player of the month for August, Qadr Amini continued his exhibition of ambition after leading Ngezi to a comfortable three-nil win over Green Fuel at the Baobab.

The midfielder showed intent from the get-go, scoring a trademark freekick in the 13th minute to give Madamburo the lead early in the game.

A late bloomer who has shown signs of promise throughout his career, Amini who is aiming to make the Warriors squad was not yet done as he assisted Delic Murimba nine minutes later to make it two-nil for the home team.

While Amini had a good show on the field, his coach Takesure Chiragwi who also won the coach of the month for August is showing no signs of turning back on the title charge after opening a four-point lead on Highlanders who will be in action tomorrow.

While it was a happy day for Ngezi who sit at the top of the standings, the opposite continues to torment Black Rhinos on the opposite end of the log as the army side lost 2-1 to Herentals.

Third-placed Manica Diamonds consolidated their third position after cruising to a two-nil win over ZPC Kariba, while the biggest headline of the weekend is a resurgent Dynamos losing 2-1 to Bulawayo Chiefs.- ZBC News

Family Left Stranded, Duped By Casino Fraudsters

Zimbabwean Family Left Homeless and in Debt After Falling Victim to Online Lotto Scam**

In a tragic and heartbreaking story, a family in Beitbridge, Zimbabwe, has been left homeless and burdened with a $2,000 (approximately R40,000) debt after falling prey to a cunning online lotto scam.

Taurai Amani, a 71-year-old resident of Dulivhadzimu in Beitbridge, had endured misfortune over a decade ago when he lost part of his house during Operation Restore Order (Murambatsvina), leaving him with just two rooms. However, he continued to dream of providing a bigger home for his children and grandchildren.

In 2019, it seemed that his dream had come true when his son received a message claiming he had won £1 million from an online competition in the United Kingdom. Little did they know that this was an elaborate scam.

Amani’s son was instructed to deposit $2,000 through Western Union to claim his prize. Filled with excitement and desperation, Amani borrowed the money and sent his son to make the payment.

Their ordeal took a dark turn when the scammers demanded an additional $1,000. Suspecting foul play, Amani turned to the police for help, only to discover that they had been victims of a scam.

Tragically, the borrowed $2,000 was never repaid, and as Amani had used his house as collateral, it was seized by the lender.

Last week, based on a court order, the Amani family was evicted from their home, leaving them in dire straits.

The community has since rallied to their aid, determined to raise the necessary funds to help the family. Boyd Maphosa, a neighbor, expressed their commitment to repay the landlord, Mr. Golden, saying, “Our plan is to raise the money within the shortest possible time so that we pay back Mr. Golden.”

Amani, now distraught, shared his regrets, saying, “I felt the gods had answered my prayers of owning a bigger house for my family.” He also urged caution when dealing with online messages.

Alaska Mafuka, a para-legal consultant, offered advice to others, emphasizing the importance of seeking legal assistance when entering into agreements and conducting due diligence. This heartbreaking story serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online scams and the importance of vigilance in the digital age..

Chamisa Intensifies Fight With Mnangagwa

CCC Namibia demands a peaceful protest against illegitimacy across the globe!

16 September 2023

Citizens in Namibia demand immediate action to complement the organic SADC, AU, EU, and other election observers which made it clear that the recent harmonized elections were not free, fair, and credible. It is now imperative to demonstrate peacefully demanding fresh unfettered elections.

At this juncture, social transformers should peacefully demonstrate their disgruntlement with the continued disputed elections in Zimbabwe. Citizens should not sit down watching the diplomatic offensive by the determined Head of the observer mission, Dr. Nevers Mumba. Section 65 is clear that peaceful protests are allowed if the citizens are not happy with the governance of the motherland. Social democrats must embrace dangerous freedom against illegitimacy. CCC Namibia urges Zimbabweans to demand freedom, equality and justice.

It is illogical to fold our hands in the face of illegitimacy. This is the only opportunity for citizens to express their frustration with the incessant rigging of general elections by the captured Zec. Priscilla Chigumba should be compelled to respect the rule of law and constitutionalism. One-man one vote is one of the fundamentals that pushed the liberation agenda. Peaceful protests are enshrined in the supreme law of the country. Citizens should abandon their fear-frozen communities and brace for a serious confrontation with the satanic Harare regime, echoed CCC Namibia Rundu Branch Interim Chairperson Simbarashe Ndoda.

The people of Zimbabwe should rise and smell the coffee. We are supposed to gather the valor, nerve, and courage needed to bring the change that delivers. Since the inception of the national democratic party led by the late Icon of Social Democracy, Dr. Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, ZANU-PF never won an election freely administered. Zimbabweans need to rise to the occasion. Let’s unite against an illegitimate government.

All Zimbabweans across the globe should amplify their revolutionary voices demanding fresh free, fair, and credible elections in the fatherland. Without action, the frantic efforts to deliver unfettered elections will be in vain. Prices in the shops don’t know the political parties, all citizens are victims of this gross governance. We need extraordinary courage to shake the corridors of illegitimate leadership in ZANU-PF. Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa and his sadist regime are illegitimate hence the dire need to peacefully confront them pushing for fresh elections.

SADC and the AU together with other stakeholders have excellently executed their task to unearth all the rigging shenanigans exhibited by ZANU-PF in cahoots with Zec. CCC Namibia district demands a complement to the strenuous and tedious efforts invested by those determined and committed to delivering socio-economic transformation. Unity and strength of purpose are what Zimbabwe is craving for at the moment. It’s now or never! This a call for action demanding fresh elections.

The continued incarceration of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala on concocted charges should be resisted with equal measure. It is infuriating to witness the arbitrary arrests of elected members of parliament as in the case of Hon Maureen Kademaunga, Gift Ostallos Siziba, and Harare Deputy Mayor, only to mention a few. This weaponization of the law also invites a pragmatic approach! We should organize or perish. Womberaiishe Nhende and his colleague were abducted and tortured before they were dumped by state security agents for being CCC leadership. We demand justice before the law.

In a nutshell, CCC Namibia shall join hands with all progressive citizens across the globe in demanding freely and fairly administered elections in Zimbabwe. Citizens are organizing a peaceful demonstration at the Zimbabwe House in Windhoek, Namibia. We encourage everyone to speak audibly against the recent subversion of the will of the people in Zimbabwe. Let’s all put our hands on the deck! We are the change we are seeking.

Thank you, SADC, AU, EU, Carter Center, ZESN, ERC, and all other election observer missions for standing with the desperate people of Zimbabwe. We urge the world to aid us in removing this unconstitutional government but citizens should take centre stage through peaceful demonstrations across the universe.

After Sparing GoldMafia Looters, RBZ Goes After Tourism Businesses

RBZ Extends Deadline for Tourism Operators to Regularize Foreign Agreements and Offshore Accounts**

In a significant development, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has extended the deadline for tourism industry players to regularize their foreign agreements and offshore accounts. This decision comes in response to concerns that nearly half of the operators in the tourism sector are not in compliance with these regulations.

Initially, the RBZ had set a deadline of August 31 for tourism operators to ensure compliance with the rules regarding foreign agreements and offshore accounts. However, the central bank has now extended this deadline to October 31, giving operators additional time to meet the requirements.

Many tourism businesses in Zimbabwe operate offshore accounts in different countries, which are legally expected to be declared within 90 days of conducting business. Failure to do so results in these funds being classified as externalized funds.

Additionally, tourism operators often enter into agreements with international partners, such as travel agents, and these agreements should be lodged with the RBZ for monitoring purposes.

The decision to extend the deadline came after engagements with the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe (TBCZ) revealed that many tourism players were not aware of these requirements.

Tourism is a vital sector for Zimbabwe’s economy, contributing significantly to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, there are concerns that the sector may not be contributing its full potential due to a lack of updated statistics on the central bank’s end, stemming from non-compliance.

To address this issue, RBZ and TBCZ have been conducting workshops to train tourism operators on exchange control policies and the administration of offshore accounts and tourism agreements. These sessions have been held in major cities like Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls.

As of now, there are approximately 1,726 registered tourism facilities in the country, including restaurants, guest houses, travel agents, hotels, tour operators, and hunting operations. Shockingly, only 828 of these facilities, making up 52 percent, are registered for TRAS1, the form used by RBZ to monitor operations and submissions in the non-consumptive sector. This indicates that 48 percent of tourism operators are not registered with the RBZ and are not in compliance.

Mr. Godfrey Chokwa, an RBZ principal analyst, stated that the reasons for non-compliance vary, with some operators being unaware of the requirements, some being new to the industry, and others simply choosing not to comply.

The RBZ has established a tourism desk to monitor compliance and gather crucial statistics, which are essential for policy formulation and GDP calculations. It is mandatory for designated tourism facilities to submit information regarding their earnings from both foreign and domestic tourism, as well as employment statistics, on a monthly basis before the 15th of each month.

Failure to comply with these regulations by the extended deadline of October 31 may result in measures being taken by the RBZ. However, the central bank emphasizes that this initiative is not meant to be punitive but rather aims to bring all tourism operators on board and ensure compliance with the set requirements.

Tourism operators have pledged to regularize their operations, and consultations will continue between now and the extended deadline to address any policy gaps and facilitate compliance within the industry.

The RBZ’s move reflects its commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability within the tourism sector, which plays a crucial role in Zimbabwe’s economy.- state media

Mnangagwa Shoves Self To UN Struggling for AU Recognition

Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Desperation: A Risky Gambit at the United Nations General Assembly

By Farai D Hove | Emmerson Mnangagwa, the President of Zimbabwe, finds himself in a precarious position as he embarks on a journey to the 78th Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly. His decision to attend this global gathering is marked by the glaring absence of recognition from the majority of African continent leaders, with only a small circle of personal friends extending their support. This desperate move exposes the challenges facing Mnangagwa’s presidency and his quest for international legitimacy.

The Zimbabwean state media, particularly the Herald newspaper, has been instrumental in crafting a narrative that downplays the crisis of legitimacy surrounding Mnangagwa’s presidency. The newspaper has reported on his departure to the UN General Assembly with an air of enthusiasm, conspicuously sidestepping the glaring issue that tarnishes his international standing.

Mnangagwa’s attendance at this global forum follows his controversial victory in the August 23 and 24 harmonized elections, an outcome contested by opposition parties and civil society groups. While his election may have been acknowledged by a few international figures, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the widespread skepticism surrounding the electoral process casts a shadow over his presidency.

In his congratulatory message, Guterres expressed willingness to collaborate with Mnangagwa’s government on various development initiatives. However, these diplomatic niceties cannot mask the underlying issues that challenge Mnangagwa’s legitimacy, including allegations of electoral irregularities and human rights abuses.

Mnangagwa’s desperation to address the General Assembly is driven by his aspiration to re-engage with the international community and secure foreign investments. His government’s economic transformation agenda aims to elevate Zimbabwe to a middle-income society by 2030, a lofty goal that hinges on international support and partnerships.

While in New York, Mnangagwa intends to hold bilateral talks with fellow leaders and engage business interest groups in a bid to attract investors to Zimbabwe. This endeavor may prove to be an uphill battle, given the persistent concerns regarding political stability, corruption, and the rule of law in Zimbabwe.

The theme of this year’s General Assembly debate, “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity,” underscores the significance of trust in international relations. Mnangagwa’s participation in this event is an attempt to rebuild trust and restore confidence in his government’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and global peace. However, the glaring absence of support from his African counterparts calls into question the authenticity of this endeavor.

As Mnangagwa departs for the United Nations General Assembly, he is seen off by high-ranking officials from his government. This show of support at home contrasts with the international isolation he faces, highlighting the complex web of challenges confronting his presidency.

In conclusion, Emmerson Mnangagwa’s decision to attend the United Nations General Assembly is a testament to his desperation to salvage his international reputation and secure foreign investments. However, his precarious position, marked by a lack of recognition from the majority of African leaders, underscores the uphill battle he faces in re-establishing his legitimacy on the global stage. The outcome of his diplomatic efforts in New York will undoubtedly have far-reaching implications for Zimbabwe’s future and its pursuit of sustainable development and prosperity.

Zanu PF Petitions Court To Overturn Chamisa-Won Constituencies

By- Losing Zanu PF in Zvimba East and Seke constituency MPs have approached the courts to overturn the final results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) in last month’s elections.

Francis Mukwangwariwa, the ZANU PF candidate for Zvimba East, lost to Oliver Mutasa of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) by 189 votes. In the Seke constituency, ZANU PF candidate Munyaradzi Tobias Kashambe was defeated by William Madzimbamuto of CCC by 755 votes.

The ZANU PF candidates have filed a petition in court against the winners and ZEC, seeking to overturn the declaration and requesting that the respondents cover the legal costs. Mukwangwariwa’s petition alleges electoral irregularities that occurred on August 23, the day of the voting. Mukwangwariwa wrote in his affidavit:

On the day of voting and at Stapleford Siding polling station there were various electoral irregularities that occurred more particularly in that: The Zec officials who were at the said polling station were giving voters aligned to Mutasa more ballot papers than what is required. Some of the voters aligned to Mutasa were being given five ballot papers instead of three ballot papers. The extra two ballot papers were for the National Assembly elections ballots.

My election polling agents noticed the anomaly and complained to the Zec official and the later did not address the issue in a meaningful way. My polling agents witnessed and confirmed one voter namely Oliver ID 63-163346-W-63, who had been given five ballot papers with extra two parliamentary ballots all of which had been voted in favour of Mutasa.

Mukwangwariwa claimed that despite alerting the police, ZEC ignored irregularities at the polling station. He argued that the declaration of poll results lacked information on rejected votes, contradicting his observations of people voting with extra ballot papers. His polling agent refused to sign the V23B form due to inconsistencies. Mukwangwariwa criticized the lack of proper verification and reconciliation before declaring the final results. The respondents’ response is pending.

In the Seke constituency, Kashambe, the losing ZANU PF candidate, is requesting a vote recount due to alleged mathematical errors in tallying the total votes, resulting in an inflated count for Madzimbamuto. Kashambe also claims corruption, stating that elderly voters were denied assistance despite difficulties finding their names on the voter list. Kaseke alleges:

ELECTION PETITION IN TERMS OF SECTION 167 OF THE ELECTORAL ACT, As Read with the Electoral Rules and Regulations.

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Petitioner Intends to make, and hereby presents, an Election Petition to the Electoral Court, sitting at Harare, challenging the result of the Rational Assembly Election for the MASHONALAND EAST PROVIIICE, SEKE, held as part of the 2023 General Elections. This Petition is presented in terms of Section 167 of the Electoral Act (Chapter 2:13] and Electoral (Applications, Appeals and Petitions,1995) for an Order setting, aside the declaration by the Constituency Elections Officer of TAPFUMAIIEI WILLARD MADZIMBAMUTO as the duly elected Member of the National Assembly for MASHOHALAI ID EAST PROVINCE SEKE Constituency in the General Elections held on the 23’a of August 2023 and that An order for re-election and/or alternatively an order for a vote recount be granted.

The grounds for this petition are:-

a. Irregularities in that there were mathematical errors in adding the total number of votes received thereby inflating the number of votes received for the Respondent.

b. Corrupt practices in that there were old-aged voters who were turned away for failure to locate their names despite the fact that no assistance was given to them. Again, during the counting times, polling agents representing the applicant’s political party at some points were chased away from the polling room while respondent’s agents remained.

The accompanying Affidavit/s and documents, together with evidence to be adduced at the trial hereof, will be used in support of this Petition

Chitembwe Snatches Point

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe believes his charges delivered a better performance in their Sunday’s Castle Lager Premiership Matchday 23 encounter against Chicken Inn.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw to extend the Green Machine’s winless run to eight games and left them sitting on the 12th position on the log.

Speaking after the match, Chitembwe said: “This was a better performance than last week. Our defending was bad last week against FC Platinum, but this time, we were resolute.

“We were stronger in the second half, it was pleasing. We could have won the match if we had been good in our decision-making.

“But this has been the case this season. It’s an opportunity for us to go back to the drawing board and work.”

The Gamecocks opened the scoring through Ginius Mutangamiri on the hour.

Navaya sealed the victory on the stroke of fulltime, tapping in Ndlovu’s free-kick.

The victory put them back to the second place with 44 points, just one behind current leaders Ngezi Platinum.

Chitembwe Here To Stay, Declares Farai Jere

Source : Makomborero Mutimukulu Page

Caps United owner Farai Jere is standing by Lloyd Chitembwe and his technical team amid calls by some fans to make changes.
Last night the Caps NEC met in Gweru and resolved to ask Jere to fire the coaches and “bring fresh minds.”
But the Caps owner looks set to stick to his man with a leaked WhatsApp conversation between him and one angry supporter revealing where Jere stands.
In the chats Jere says his love for Caps is still burning as evidenced by the way he keeps pumping money into the club.

Below are some exchanges between Jere & the Caps fan.
??????????

[9/16, 07:31] Farai JERE: Can you help me on this one? Do you have their numbers and share with me. I am on record that if there is anyone willing to takeover Caps United it’s available and no one came. I am more than willing to let it go any time, any day. What do people mean when they say I am hanging on to Caps when I am paying a lot of money every minute, every, every week and every month. That figure is not including salaries. I had a meeting with former players including Mpemelolo Dzowa and they failed to take up the team due to its huge running expenses. I took Charlie Johns to run the team and these are the results you are all blaming me for.
[9/16, 07:31] Farai JERE: ??
[9/16, 07:33] Farai JERE: Management is not that easy mukuru. Murikumbowonawo here panenguva to start looking for new players?

Zimbabwe Shall Rise Again – Ngarivhume

Today l spent the day with Jacob Ngarivhume at Harare Central Prison where he is serving 4 years for calling for a demonstration against corruption. This is the fifth month since he was sentenced by Magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka for inciting public violence.

All attempts so far by his legal team to have an appeal heard by a higher court have hit a brick wall. This was further compounded by the recent elections which saw courts taking a sabbatical and no appeals were heard.

The level at which the Second Republic has used lawfare against its opponents, perceived or real, is unparalleled. The cases of Ngarivhume and Job Sikhala are classic examples. The two are political prisoners being held up on the flimsiest of charges.

Ngarivhume remains strong hearted and resolute even behind bars. He is in good physical condition. The extremely difficult and inhumane prison conditions do not seem to have any effect on him. His main worry is the present and future of this country.

Everytime he speaks on Zimbabwe, you can feel his passion and sincerity. The desire to see a better Zimbabwe for all, gives him courage to even to endanger his own life. There are very few leaders of his calibre left in this country!

Commenting on the recent elections, Ngarivhume said the failure by the opposition to win power was a big step backwards and the country cannot afford another five years of ZANU PF misrule. He said all attempts to turn this country into a monarchy and dynasty by the current establishment are unfortunate and unacceptable. From the shambolic elections it is clear that ZANU PF will suffer a legitimacy crisis.

Ngarivhume maintains that the only way out is a broad based dialogue by all stakeholders. This should usher in a transitional system that should oversee fresh credible elections.

Since ZANU PF will likely resist such, Ngarivhume calls on SADC to put pressure on ZANU PF to resolve once and for all the Zimbabwean political crisis.

Ngarivhume remains hopeful that Zimbabwe will not remain under ZANU PF bondage for much longer. He continues to pray for peace and appreciates all the support he has been receiving from all concerned citizens! For him it’s ‘Alluta Continua’!

Why You Need To Treat Mining Like Real Business

1 treat mining like business

In business you invest with the aim of making profit long term and sustainable. Inorder to do that just make a small informal business by listing what you need with exact value don’t forget to include monitoring expenses identify a claim close to you or never invest . If you are still tempted to invest far increase scope of investment so that all you will be able to all final production activities month end .
2 nothing can replace your presence
Gold is a currency that can be used without any purification or processing and around Zimbabwe you find gold nuggets of 5points upto 10kg your absence means you won’t be able to see it or account for production done using your own money. Be there from day one study everything learn all risks and rewards.

Your kids , wife and relatives are not you they can steal from you infact most gold related theft or lack of accountability is orchestrated by related especially the son or daughter in most cases l have come across.

Besides stealing they usually unknowingly disturb or sabotage production in the name of relative. All gold production ends are guarded by mine owner , sponsors or investors and workers nothing is left to chance.

3 avoid overspending on monitoring
Avoid driving up and down to the mine in the name of monitoring because it’s useless and unnecessary unless you spend atleast 6hrs of day time at the mine use public transport and avoid hiring transport for transactions that don’t need a car .

If you want to use a car increase your investment scope to accommodate the car .when ever gold pays you handsomely remember they are dark days ahead plan wisely and create proper backup.

Nelson Chamisa Calls For Worldwide Protests At Mnangagwa Illegitimacy

Leaked: Farai Jere, Caps United Fan Exchange Bitter Words Over Chitembwe Future

It’s not a straight jacket especially this Caps United. If you have a chance talk to Charlie Johns he can explain to you
[9/16, 07:38] ZOE: He was good thst tym but apa atadza Chelsea yakazviita Pana Mourinho and almost relagsted but they fire and went on to win champions league
[9/16, 07:38] Farai JERE: That time you mean last year???
[9/16, 07:39] ZOE: Yes the results are proving kuti atadza green machine
[9/16, 07:39] ZOE: We can’t keep on hanging on him
[9/16, 07:41] Farai JERE: He doesn’t have the required coaching qualifications. How do we employ him? These are other dynamics people out there don’t understand. Tsipa doesn’t have coaching badges. He is now in the UK. Ndiyani wamungatore nhasi. I mean today
[9/16, 07:41] ZOE: I believe football is business as well wy are u not giving altimatium of three game or so even though I feel u gave enough tym at Caps to improve
[9/16, 07:42] ZOE: Machazane my brother
[9/16, 07:42] Farai JERE: Yes he doesn’t have CAF A

Online Content Creators Urged to Counter Disinformation

Ingrid Tagwirei and Prof Ruby Magosvongwe

By A Correspondent- Addressing disinformation is a key challenge that the media faces in the digital age and online content creators should strive to counter disinformation as it undermines democracy, erode social cohesion and incite violence.

In a speech read on his behalf by Ingrid Tagwirei, UNESCO regional adviser for communication and information AL-Amin Yusuph said online content creators have a responsibility to counter disinformation by verifying facts, exposing lies, correcting errors and providing context to their work.

Yusuph said this at the Zimbabwe Online Content Creators (ZOCC) National Media Forum 2023 organised in partnership with UNESCO and Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC). The forum was attended by 40 ZOCC members from all of the association’s national chapters and the academia and its aim is to foster dialogue, collaboration and professionalism on issues of disinformation and hate speech on online platforms.

Ingrid Tagwirei

He said:

“As online content creators you have a vital role in informing, educating and engaging
the public on matters of national interest. Hate speech can violate human rights, fuel conflict and threaten peace.

ZOCC Chairperson Toneo Rutsito

As content creators you should refrain from using or amplifying hate speech in your work and challenge it whenever it occurs. You should also promote tolerance, diversity and dialogue among different groups and communities.

The media has the responsibility to provide accurate, balanced and impartial coverage of critical issues including on online platforms. The media also has the duty to uphold ethical
standards and respect the rights and dignity of all stakeholders.”

He urged content creators to conduct themselves ethically as this is not only a professional obligation, but also a democratic necessity.

“Ethical reporting means adhering to the principles of truthfulness, fairness, accuracy, balance, objectivity, independence and accountability. It also means avoiding sensationalism, bias, distortion, manipulation, propaganda and misinformation. Ethical reporting promotes public trust and confidence in the media.”

Yvonne Muchaka ZOCC Central chapter secretary

He pointed out that during the recent elections, online platforms were used by citizens to receive information on the elections and it is important for online content creators to ensure that all information disseminated is sourced from reliable and official
sources is also essential for quality journalism.

“Reliable and official sources can help the media to avoid spreading rumours, speculation, hearsay and unverified claims that can mislead or confuse the public. As content creators, you should cite your sources clearly and acknowledge any limitations or uncertainties in your reporting.”

He urged content creators to fact check their work using available fact checking and verifying tools.

Zimbabwe Media Commission Chairperson Professor Ruby Magosvongwe said the promotion of a democratic culture demands responsible digital media.

from left, Toneo Rutsito, Ingrid Tagwirei and Prof Ruby Magosvongwe

She said:

“Being responsible not only means telling the truth and being factual, but also abiding by the law and being honest in the way a media practitioner gathers information – there is a need to be sensitive to the needs, rights of others, and the general good of society.

General good conduct entails the digital media being responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people, build positive lives, create and sustain peace – and above all champion national interests and development aspirations of the people.”

She said the media provides a first level of intelligence by alerting law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders of the potential of violence and conflict. allowing quick action to be taken to avoid potential violence and conflict.

online content creators

“In conflict management, digital media can provide solutions as it deals directly with sources.  On the other hand, social media has transformed the tools available to conflict parties as it creates opportunities by assisting in data collection and analysis, bolstering peace messaging and diversifying dialogue.”

Professor Magosvongwe called on the media to continuously practice responsible journalism post elections.

“Given the fact that the 2023 harmonised elections have been concluded, the electoral cycle does not end with the voting process but is ongoing till the next voting period. It is in this regard that digital media should provide a platform for debate among candidates by allowing candidates to communicate their messages to the electorate, and reporting on campaigning developments.”

She said the role of the media should be to inform voters on how to exercise their rights, monitor the election process, including election-day proceedings, and report the results to the public.

“Zimbabwe has taken steps to ensure that the media operates in a conducive environment when performing their proper function in the democratic space.  The various steps taken include provisions of the Constitution, ZMC Act, the Electoral Act (Section 160) and the Statutory Instrument 33 of 2008.  These legal instruments provide a framework within which the media has to operate, both print and electronic.  T

The spirit of the legal instruments is to ensure a fair, balanced and objective coverage of all political parties and contestants.  These legal provisions are in addition to the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections and the African Union Charter on Elections.”

Professor Magosvongwe revealed that the ZMC in partnership with UNESCO and other donors is currently capacitating media players to play their role before, during and after elections.

The Commission launched an Elections Reporting and Peace Journalism Manual which deals with peace reporting, violence and conflict resolution, safety of journalists, elections and women, elections and youths and the conduct of the media when covering political activities.

The Manual is continually being distributed across the country to media practitioners.

Mnangagwa To Be Humiliated At UN

By James Gwati- President Emmerson Mnangagwa will likely face humiliation at the 78th United National General Assembly conference in New York, United States of America, starting today.

Monday, his Zanu PF party national spokesman, Christopher Mutsvangwa, announced that Mnangagwa would attend the UN Conference.

Mutsvangwa announced at a post-politburo meeting press briefing in Harare on Friday.

Several human rights activists from across the globe are calling on the UN Conference to embarrass Mnangagwa over the sham August 23 elections.

His government’s spin doctor, Nick Mangwana, confirmed the calls on his X account.

https://twitter.com/nickmangwana/status/1703504570339520882

Mnangagwa’s attendance at the world body conference comes after his controversial inauguration, which was snubbed by the region following his controversial victory in the August 23 harmonised elections.

The election was condemned by SADC, AU and all the international community observer missions that witnessed the polls.

Mnangagwa ignored all this and appointed a bloated cabinet comprising his sons and friends.
“We would also want to announce that the President will be going to the UN General Assembly. You know of course that the President has received the letter of congratulation from the UN Secretary General (Antonio Guterres),” said Mutsvangwa.
“Now you need to understand that the UN Sec-Gen is a civil servant of the UN of which there is the General Assembly but there is also the Security Council members with the veto power, UK, France, America, China and Russia so when the SG issues a statement, it is because all the important stakeholders in the Security Council have agreed to that statement. It means Washington endorsed the position of the SG in congratulating Zimbabwe, it means London endorsed that congratulatory letter; otherwise he would not have issued it.”

Local Online Says Chiwenga Unhappy With ED Cabinet Appointments

Sources within the military and those close to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga have revealed he is not happy with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Cabinet appointments and has noted the sidelining of party officials perceived to be his allies.

Mnangagwa last week announced Ministerial appointments dominated by members of his family, and close allies; doing away with Chiwenga’s personal doctor Dr. John Mangwiro who was Deputy Health Minister among others.

Buoyed by a 52.6% Presidential election win, Mnangagwa appointed his son David Kudakwashe Deputy Finance Minister, his nephew Tongai Mnangagwa as Deputy Tourism Minister and Angeline Gata, wife to ZESA’s untouchable Sydney Gata as Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education.

Usual allies Monica Mutsvangwa, and husband Christopher were also rewarded with Women’s Affairs and War Veterans Ministerial posts.

Christopher played a key role in the 2017 coup that landed Mnangagwa Zimbabwe’s presidency.

Jenfan Muswere, who is reportedly related to the Mnangagwas was appointed Information Minister, despite initial protests at how he had been allowed to contest in Zimbabwe’s August 23 elections considering his lack of support.

Muswere lost internal party primaries before Mnangagwa stepped in to protect him and ensure his election.

Sources from within Chiwenga’s camp who spoke to NewZimbabwe.com revealed that the former Army General was not happy.

“The appointments were so brazen and that is what has disappointed Chiwenga,” said a source who preferred anonymity.

“Chiwenga feels Mnangagwa has deliberately clipped him of all powers by ensuring the bulk of Ministers in his Cabinet are loyal to him.

“Chiwenga also questioned why Mangwiro could not just have been appointed Minister of Health, why Gata has a post, and how Owen “Mudha” Ncube has been allowed to come back.”

Ncube, who was relieved of duties under unclear circumstances is now State Minister for Midlands Province.

He has been accused of financing and encouraging violence in the province through the use of a closely knit militia that was last year accused of killing Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporter Mboneni Ncube.

“This is Zanu PF, things do not go as everyone would assume they should. Chiwenga is yet to share what he intends to do after this but I tell you it will not be easy for Mnangagwa.

“His term will be mired by internal fights until 2028, if he manages to handle his issues well up to that year.”

Mnangagwa is in his second and final term as President, with all indications that Chiwenga will take over leadership of the party and State in 2028.

Also in Mnangagwa’s Cabinet is Zhemu Soda, a virtually unknown character until he replaced favourite Fortune Chasi as Energy Minister.

Soda, hails from First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Mashonaland Central Province.

Paul Mavima has been handed a new ministry, Skills Audit to ensure his presence while Polite Kambamura bounced back as Deputy Mines Minister.

Both are close associates of Mnangagwa.

Sekai Nzenza who hails from Chiwenga’s Hwedza District was let loose by Mnangagwa while Kirsty Coventry, who is believed to have enjoyed the protection of the Vice President was retained as Sports Minister.

Chiwenga himself had been enjoying extra perks as Health Minister last term following the sacking of Obadiah Moyo on corruption allegations that were eventually dismissed.

Mumba Digs In, Says Only Hurt By Zambian Opposition Who Fell For Zanu PF Antics

By A Correspondent| The Head of the SADC Observer Mission, Nevers Mumba has stood his ground and castigated Zambian opposition members who appeared in a documentary aired on ZBC criticizing his report on the just ended 2023 harmonised elections in Zimbabwe.

In his response, Mumba expressed his dedication to truth and transparency while reaffirming his position despite the attempts to tarnish his reputation.

“I will stand on the truth, and the truth shall not change. No amount of intimidation or personal attacks can move or sway me. I’ve chosen this path, to live by truth, and by conscience, and beyond this, I can do no other.”

The documentary aired on ZBC News attempted to undermine Mumba’s integrity and findings, employing falsehoods and character assassination in an effort to discredit the SADC Observer Mission’s assessment.

Nevertheless, Mumba remained resolute, stating that these attempts would not deter him or the cause he represents.

“These attempts to try to smear my reputation with lies and all sorts of character assassination will yield nothing, except to raise an even bigger army of young Africans who cannot be bought, or sold, who can neither be intimidated nor blinded by your twisted propaganda,” Mumba asserted.

Chamisa Tackles Mnangagwa From Another Angle

By-Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the country’s main opposition, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa, said his party will give Mnangagwa a torrid time.

He criticised President Emmerson Mnangagwa, accusing him of undermining the democratic process through various coups on the ballot since 2008.

Chamisa emphasised the need for immediate change and pledged to lead the efforts to bring about that change. He expressed his determination to put an end to the current situation and ensure that the people are not mistreated. Chamisa called for unity among all Zimbabweans, emphasising the importance of defending democracy and standing up against any abuse of power. He said:

We will not wait for five years there has to be change now and we are going to lead in making sure that change comes to Zimbabwe. We are putting a full stop to this mess. Whatever it takes, we must provide leadership. Mnangagwa knows he has that he has performed a coup since 2008 a coup on the ballot, 2017 a coup on the elected leader, 2018 a coup on the ballot, he has repeated again 2023 a coup on the ballot. You can’t survive this for far too many times. This time, no further. We have drawn a line in the sand we will not allow you to abuse people. You are not the last Zimbabwean, you are not the only Zimbabwean, we are all Zimbabweans. We all count, we all matter and we will make sure we take our stand and we defend democracy.

Nelson Chamisa’s remarks followed the announcement by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) declaring Emmerson Mnangagwa as the winner of the August 23-24, 2023 presidential election. Chamisa disputed the results and called for a fresh election. Mnangagwa has since been inaugurated as the new president.

Ngarivhume Fights Mnangagwa From Prison

OPENING REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT AND ZANU PF FIRST SECRETARY CDE E.D MNANGAGWA AT THE ZANU PF 371ST ORDINARY SESSION OF THE POLITBURO

Live at ZANUPF HQ

I thank our grassroots membership across wards, districts and provinces, who in their numbers, voted for our revolutionary mass Party, ZANU PF, my candidature as President and that of our members of the National Assembly as well as those in local authorities.

The resounding victory of our revolutionary Party is an undisputable reflection of the will of the people of Zimbabwe. Our colossal ZANU PF Party delívered tangible and life transforming programmes and projects. We are the only Party with a clear vision for the future that will see more enjoying a higher quality of life. As such, our people gave our Party, yet another 5 year mandate to lead our country. Well done Team ZANU PF Makorokoto, Amhlope.

We emphatically won the elections together as one united Party. Let us celebrate this victory cell by cell, village by village, district by district right up to the provincial and national level.

However, much work lies ahead. Elections are behind us, hence our focus should now shift to consolidating the gains we have realised, so far. The scaling up of the implementation of the Party’s pro-people and development-oriented resolutions is now our top priority.

It is however, most unfortunate that we convene this Politburo Session when our nation is mourning the sad passing on of our colleague and comrade, former Secretary for the Disabled and Disadvantaged, Cde Joshua Teke Malinga. He was a distinguished ‘Son of the Soil’, veteran nationalist and special advisor on disability issues, whom we accorded National Hero Status and interred earlier today. In his honour, I invite the Politburo to observe a minute of silence.

May his dear departed soul continue to rest in eternal peace. I thank you. Allow me to once again express my gratitude to the officials of our colossal Party, ZANU PF and the leadership for the successful election campaign programme.

It was on the basis of our multi-pronged election strategy and programmes that we mounted the subsequent resounding and undeniable election victory. Congratulations to you all.

I particularly congratulate Mashonaland Central Province for the outstanding performance during the just-ended Harmonised General Elections. Our Party is
a force to reckon with. It is popular, strong and dominant in your Province. By sweeping all the National House of Assembly constituencies, including in urban areas, you have truly demonstrated that Mash- Central is unwavering in defending our rich liberation war heritage, independence, democracy and freedom.

Mashonaland Central Province also attained the highest Presidential votes and the least opposition votes. Well done. Ndinokutendai, Ngiyalibonga Mash Central Leadership across your Districts branches and cell villages.

Going forward, we must go back to every cell/village, branch, district and province, to express our appreciation of the people’s vote. Our people, through traditional leaders, Chiefs, Headmen and Village heads, must be commended for maintaining unity, peace and love for one another as well as our country, Zimbabwe.

Equally, I commend our Party’s Leagues, Affiliate Organisations and first-time voters who, through their emphatic support, contributed to our Party’s victory. Collectively, we silenced the country’s detractors and neo-imperialists.

This must remain the hallmark of our revolutionary mass Party. Guided by our philosophy, Mu ZANU PF, iwe neni tine basa, it is us the leaders who must guide and lead the feedback processes and exercise. This must include dialogue, engagement and research to establish what the Party must do better, in those areas where we did not perform to our expectation. Focus must now also be on Makoni District Ward 33 and Gutu West Constituency where elections will soon be held.

The people and the Party must continue to have a sense of community. The Party must remain fully immersed in the grassroots.

Lessons and experiences of our national elections have exposed the machinations of our erstwhile forces, including funding the regime change agenda. Zimbabwe, under ZANU PF, will remain an independent and sovereign nation.

This Session of the Politburo will receive a detailed and comprehensive post-mortem report on our Election Campaign Programme as well as the Party’s performance in the 2023 Harmonised General Elections. In addition, it is important that we outline the road map for the holding of our National People’s Conference, later this year.

As you are aware, I have appointed Cabinet members with the expectation that, under ZANU PF leadership, Zimbabwe’s modernisation and industrialisation will be accelerated. Our resolve to ensure broad-based development that leaves no one and no place behind must be scaled up through the implementation of life-transforming projects and programmes.

We are a Party and Government whose leadership is accountable to the people. The Party and Politburo must, therefore, continue to stand ready to provide the requisite ideological guidance and leadership to Government. Zimbabwe’s development solutions must continue to be framed and rooted in who we are as a people. In all that we do, it is important that we remain true to our African and Zimbabwean values, guided by our philosophy Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatigwa nevene lakhiwa, Ilizwe libuswe, likhulekelwe vayo, ngabanikazi balo. I will lead Zimbabwe delegation to UNGA where we will speak our mind. We don’t seek to please anybody but ourselves

Leveraging on our climate-smart Agriculture strategies, programmes and projects, the Party is now urged to mobilise our communities to take part in preparing for the summer cropping season. Climate change is a reality.

The Party, working with our grassroots communities and stakeholders in the agriculture sector, must promote the uptake of seed varieties and crops that suit our country’s different agro-ecological regions. The promotion of traditional grains in drought prone regions is key. Our revolution to sustain the already attained household and national food security and sovereignty will never stop.

With unity of purpose at every level, we will continue to achieve our desired national development targets towards Vision 2030.

Chamisa In Renewed Mnangagwa Fight

By-The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa, said his party will not wait five years to provide leadership in Zimbabwe.

ZBC’s Anti SADC Documentary Backfires On Mnangagwa

By Farai D Hove | In a reversing turn of events, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has unwittingly compromised the career of Emmerson Mnangagwa, rendering any claims of bias by the SADC observer mission to the recently concluded 2023 elections virtually irredeemable. This development comes after the release of a controversial documentary that has sent shockwaves throughout the region.

Nevers Mumba, a key figure in this unfolding drama, published a statement titled “GRAND SCHEME” DOCUMENTARY AGAINST ZAMBIA, AGAINST THE PRESIDENT, AND AGAINST MYSELF IS AN ACT OF DESPERATION AND A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY.” In this statement, Mumba voiced his concerns regarding a derogatory and anti-Zambian documentary produced by a foreign news agency and government. However, what makes this situation even more alarming is the involvement of five Zambian individuals, including Mr. Fred Mmembe, Mr. Given Lubinda, Mr. Raphael Nakachinda, Mr. Emmanuel Mwamba, and Mr. Chilufya Tayali, who collaborated with the ZANU-PF of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation to create this controversial video.

The documentary alleges that President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia had a mandate from Western Imperialists to effect regime change in countries led by liberation movements in the region, including Zimbabwe. These allegations, according to Mumba, border on espionage and constitute a dangerous and irresponsible threat to national security. Furthermore, Mumba himself was falsely accused of being nominated as the SADC Head of Mission in the Zimbabwe election to fulfill President Hichilema’s alleged mandate.

Mumba decried the actions of these five Zambians, stating that their behavior goes beyond politics and amounts to national sabotage. He called on the justice system to take a keen interest in this matter and allow the accused to prove their claims in court.

However, what has sent shockwaves across the region is the connection between Nevers Mumba and Emmerson Mnangagwa. ZimEye’s editorial team observed that Mumba has been associated with Mnangagwa’s circle since 1995, operating under the leadership of Andrew Wutaunashe, who is described as the head of Mnangagwa’s prophetic mafia. Even as recently as August 2023, Mumba was recorded in a video defending Mnangagwa’s government against allegations of gold transaction sanctions.

This association raises questions about Mumba’s impartiality and neutrality as the announcer for the SADC observer mission. ZimEye contends that given Mumba’s long-standing connections to Mnangagwa’s camp, there can be no grounds for accusing the SADC observer mission of bias.

This revelation casts a long shadow over Mnangagwa’s political future and, in the eyes of many, seals the door on any attempt to claim bias by the SADC observer mission. It remains to be seen how this explosive situation will continue to unfold, but one thing is certain: it has sent shockwaves throughout the region, raising questions about political alliances and agendas in Southern Africa.

Passion Java’s Mysterious Hand Deterioration: A Cause for Concern

By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye | September 17, 2023

In a shocking turn of events, charismatic preacher and ZANU PF supporter, Passion Java, has recently grabbed headlines for an unusual and perplexing reason. The 35-year-old’s hands, known for their youthful appearance, have seemingly deteriorated to resemble those of a 95-year-old man. This startling transformation has left many wondering about the underlying cause of this sudden change.

Passion Java’s hand during church service in SA last week.

The startling revelation occurred during one of Passion Java’s flamboyant church services, which he conducted in South Africa. Beyond his vibrant attire and his zealous delivery of sermons, it was his hands that caught the attention of many. Observers and fans alike couldn’t help but notice the drastic alteration in the appearance of his hands, which had once been a symbol of his youth.

A comparison to previous images published by ZimEye further emphasizes the dramatic nature of this transformation. In these earlier photographs, Passion Java’s hands exhibited a youthful vitality that sharply contrasts with their current state. The question on everyone’s mind is: what could have led to such a noticeable and sudden deterioration?

At the time of writing, the exact cause of Passion Java’s hand deterioration remains shrouded in mystery. However, speculations have been circulating within the community. Some commentators have suggested that he may have recently suffered burns, potentially from an accident or an unexpected incident. Others have proposed that his condition might be the result of a reaction to certain chemicals or substances.

Despite these speculations, concrete information regarding the cause of this phenomenon is still awaited. The public is eagerly anticipating an official statement or comment from Passion Java or his representatives, as this peculiar development raises concerns and generates widespread curiosity.

As the story continues to unfold, ZimEye will keep its readers updated on any developments regarding Passion Java’s enigmatic hand deterioration. Until then, the mystery behind this unexpected transformation remains unsolved, leaving many to wonder about the true nature of this striking change.

Is This How ZBC Produced Its Documentary While Nevers Remained Mumba, Tucked Inside?

By Farai D Hove | In a riveting turn of events, the first of its kind since the Nov 2017 coup, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has unwittingly compromised the career of Emmerson Mnangagwa, rendering any claims of bias by the SADC observer mission to the recently concluded 2023 elections virtually irredeemable.

Zim Dollar Crashes Again, Two Weeks After Mnangagwa’s Self-Inauguration

The Reserve Bank Governor, John Mangudya, has admitted that the Zimbabwean dollar continuously loses value and called for prayers.

The Central Bank Boss, however, urged Zimbabweans not to panic, promising to term the inflationary environment.

The official and street rates have been comparatively stable in August, but last week, the local unit fell to ZWL$4 712.16: US$1 from ZWL$4 604.62: US$1 three weeks ago.

Business Times quoted Mangudya as saying the central bank is in control of the situation. He said:

There’s nothing to worry about as the exchange rate remains relatively stable. I think Zimbabweans need prayers as they start panicking with something that is within reach. We have tools to ensure there is no excess liquidity in the market.

The central bank remains confident that the continued sale of gold coins and gold-backed digital tokens will sustainably take away steam from the store-of-value demand for local currency during the short to medium term, with positive spinoffs on the substance of obtaining price and exchange rate stability.

Furthermore, the central bank’s strategic resolve for continued monetary prudence will add further impetus to the positive prospects of the local currency over the medium term.

In addition, the ongoing monitoring and surveillance by the Financial Intelligence Unit will effectively minimise incidences of exchange rate manipulation and abnormal pricing practices.

Meanwhile, Finance and Investment Promotion Minister Mthuli Ncube said that it is baffling that a foreign currency parallel market still exists in Zimbabwe.

Ncube said the parallel market “shouldn’t even exist” as “every piece of policy that is necessary for a stable currency has been put in place”.

Court Clears WestProp Holdings’ Financial Property Case

By Business Reporter-The Supreme Court has cleared the country’s top property investment company, West Property Holdings’ long-standing financial property legal challenge.

In the now cleared case, the High Court had initially ordered the attachment of the property investment company’s land to counterbalance the debt with Fairclot Investments over funding a dual carriageway in Harare leading to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.

The legal battle came after Augur had appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn the High Court’s decision to settle its debt with Fairclot in the United States dollars instead of the local currency.

But last Friday, the Supreme Court judges Justices Chinembiri Bhunu, George Chiweshe, and Hlekani Mwayera squashed the appeal. The trio unanimously agreed that the debt was executable in local currency in terms of Zimbabwe’s financial laws.

In a statement after the landmark ruling, West Property Holdings assured its stakeholders of the security of their properties.

Below is the statement

We are pleased to advise our stakeholders and valued customers of the outcome of the appeal filed under SC271/23.

The ruling, which was delivered today, cements and confirms that, indeed Stand Number 654 Pomona Township belongs to WestProp Holdings Ltd

We have thus put to rest any legal impediments and challenges to our title, and the dispute between Augur Investments, Doorex Properties and Fairclot Investments has finally been determined in our favour by the Apex Court, which has confirmed the full discharge of the liability.

We take this opportunity to reassure our esteemed stakeholders and clients that the Pomona Dream will undoubtedly be delivered.

With all the legal battles now behind us, our focus is now on delivering the Pomona Dream and satisfying the imagination of our stakeholders and clients.

Susan Mutami’s Boyfriend Lands Ministerial Post

By- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed three more Deputy Ministers, one of them, Polite Kambamura, the ex-boyfriend to the Austrian-based health worker Susan Mutami.

The three will serve in the Mines and Mining Development, Homes Affairs and Cultural Heritage, and Industry and Commerce portfolios.

In a statement, Acting Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya said Polite Kambamura (Susan Mutami’s ex-boyfriend), who was recently elected Member of Parliament for Sanyati, would serve as Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development. Nyanga North National Assembly representative Chido Sanyatwe has been appointed Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, while Chiredzi North legislator Roy Bhila is the new Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere recently indicated that the new Cabinet was geared to drive development.
“The appointments were based on merit, our development trajectory and the magnitude of the challenges we are facing as a nation,” he said.

Mnangagwa Annoits Chiwenga

By- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hinted at handing over power to his s deputy Constantino Chiwenga after praising him for saving his life from his 2017 Zanu PF Gwanda rally poisoning event.

Mnangagwa was speaking at his birthday anniversary dinner hosted by the first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa, at State House on Friday.
The event was attended by members of the first family, Chiwenga and his wife, Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Cabinet Ministers, Senior Government officials, senior ZANU PF officials, members of the Diplomatic community, friends, and relatives.
Mnangagwa, who was celebrating his 81st birthday, said that after he was poisoned in Gwanda, Chiwenga and the first lady arranged that he be airlifted to South Africa for treatment. He said:
God has been very kind to me because most of my colleagues are long gone. I had a taste of death several times including recently when I was poisoned in Gwanda. But I am still here and I want to give credit to VP Chiwenga. He and the First Lady were able to rush me to a hospital in South Africa and I survived. I want my family to know that Chiwenga saved me, he took it upon himself.
Reports say at the birthday bash, Mnangagwa received gifts of paintings, and from his sons, an all-expenses paid fishing trip on which they will join him.
His daughters-in-law gifted him a three-tier cake, with each tier significant — the first represented the president’s farm, the second “special moments in the president’s life” and the third his “determination overcoming trials and tribulations”.

Zimbabweans Feast On Pokello Over Mnangagwa Birthday Dinner Snub

By Jane Mlambo| A picture of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s daughters in law during his birthday dinner at State House has caused social media commotion with Zimbabweans mocking popular socialite Pokello Nare for her absence despite widespread rumors that she is dating one of Mnangagwa’s sons.

On Friday, Mnangagwa celebrated his 81st birthday with his family hosting a dinner party at State House in Harare.

While Nick Mangwana was performing his duties, posting pictures to inform the nation on the proceedings of the birthday dinner, it is a picture of the first family varoora that got the nation talking.

The picture (below) with elegantly dressed daughters in law of the first family suddenly shifted focus of the people who began mocking Pokello, the queen of swag over her absence, with one user making a juicy claim that she was denied entry as the First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa does not approve of the widely rumored relationship with her son.

Many other Twitter users wanted to know why Pokello was absent among Mnangagwa’s daughters in law despite being seen with one of the First family sons at a local pub.

Pokello, a Zimbabwean socialite and entrepreneur who once represented the country at the Big brother Africa, is rumored to be in love with Emmerson Junior.

The two were recently pictured at a local pub enjoying moments of their lives.

Below are some of the screenshots from the responses on Nick Mangwana’s post on varoora ve First family.

Tatenda Mavetera A Hardworking Young Lady

By Namatai Kwekweza

I strongly disagree with @TateMavetera politics however this is just wrong.

When women are promoted and elevated to positions of power, there is an over insistence on them having to show their credentials and the same demand and insistence for credentials is never done for men. I would hope we want to see something on the CVS of all the men appointed.

Far much more disappointing and enraging is the sexualization and success shaming.

Tatenda though a ZANU PF member is an active person who works hard and interacts with the women’s movement where she is visible, and well spoken. Let’s agree to disagree on our politics without using misogyny to devalue women in leadership.

The same way it’s wrong when it’s done to the brilliant women in CCC is the same way it is wrong when it is done to women in ZANU PF.

About First Aid In Mining

First aid should can be offered by anyone but ideally trained personnel to give first aid should offer first aid.

When offering first aid always consider your personal safety first.

Look out for any dangers and only act when you are confident it is safe to do so.

An unresponsive person is someone not moving or responding when you call them or when gently shaken.

Respiratory emergencies & CPR

Check if breathing by tilting their head back and looking and feeling for breaths.
When a person is unresponsive, their muscles relax and their tongue can block their airway so they can no longer breathe. Tilting their head back opens the airway by pulling the tongue forward. If they are breathing, you will see their chest moving and you may hear their breath or feel it on your cheek. If breathing, move on to step two.

Move them onto their side and tilt their head back. Putting them in this position with their head back helps keep their airway open. It ensures their tongue falls forward and blood and vomit drain out. It is sometimes called the “recovery position”.
Call for help or an ambulance as soon as possible.
If the patient needs CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), place the person on their back on a firm, flat surface and start giving chest compressions aiming for 30compressions in 1minute.
How to do CPR
Hand position: Two hands centered on the chest
Body position: Shoulders directly over hands; elbows locked
Depth: At least 5cm
Allow chest to return to normal position after every chest compression.
5 Give 2 rescue breaths (if equipment to do that available). Ensure each breath lasts about 1 second and makes the chest rise; allow air to exit before giving the next breath.

Gas leak, Fire & Burns

Turn off gas if safe to do
Evacuate the area immediately
Do not switch any lights or start an open flame
If there is fire use a fire extinguisher to stop the fire from spreading and ring the fire alarm alerting everyone to evacuate the building.
If someone is on fire remove the person from the source of fire, drop and roll him or her over or cover him or her with a fire blanket.
Cool burn under running water
Protect the burn with sterile, non-adhesive bandage (DO NOT APPLY BUTTER OR OINTMENTS)
Do not break blisters
Call for an ambulance and send to hospital
Chemical spill.

Remove spoiled clothing
If skin or eyes affected rinse immediately with clean running water
If ingested do not induce vomiting and do not give water or mi unless told to d so by a health professional.

If inhaled move the person to fresh air and give oxygen if available.
After first aid is given send to hospital as soon as possible.

ZBC Documentary Crashes Mnangagwa’s Career

By Farai D Hove | In a stunning turn of events, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has unwittingly compromised the career of Emmerson Mnangagwa, rendering any claims of bias by the SADC observer mission to the recently concluded 2023 elections virtually irredeemable.

Zimbabweans Flood Zambia

By- Thousands of Zimbabweans are flocking to Zambia for education and economic opportunities at a time Zanu PF is targeting Lusaka for exposing its recent gigantic election rigging.

The Mirror reports that an estimated 10,000 young Zimbabweans have run away from high unemployment and a broken economy, among other factors, and have found life in Zambia,
The publication said that Lusaka Health Institute alone has an estimated 123 first, second and third-year nursing students.
Joseph Mukina, an agent who processes applications for Zimbabwean students, said that there are at least 200 Zimbabwean students in each of the 58 institutes of higher learning that he deals with. This brings the total number of Zimbabwean students in the country to over 10,000.
A source at Chirundu Border Post said the flood of Zimbabwean students crossing north into Zambia at the start of new semesters cannot be ignored anymore.
An analyst who declined to be named said the migration of students out of the country is a sign of a lack of confidence in the future. He said it proves the economy has collapsed.
Another analyst said Zimbabwe is the most failed State with millions of citizens all over the the region. He said Zimbabwe’s cold war with Zambia is uncalled for.
It seemed unimaginable in the last few years that Zimbabweans could flood Zambia, a far poorer country. Zimbabwean students have over the years turned from one country for education to another as they find no jobs after qualifying.
First, they turned in hordes to South Africa for higher education but as huge regional populations started to affect job opportunities in that country they started going to Poland four years ago and now it is Zambia which is the new source of higher education.
Parents and students who spoke to The Mirror gave various reasons why Zambia has become their first choice for education. They said that Zambian universities are generally cheaper and fees are paid in the local currency which is stable, unlike the Zimbabwean currency. The fees in Zambia start from as little as $300.
Some students complain that Zimbabwean education is now of poor quality because universities are more focused on making money. One engineering student said that he left a State university here and went to Zambia because one can finish a degree programme without ever setting foot in a workshop. He left the university when he was in year two.
The highest intakes in Zambia are in nursing. The students who spoke to The Mirror said programme restrictions in Zambia are less stringent than in Zimbabwe. Unlike in Zimbabwe, students are not bonded after completing a nursing course.
In Zambia, one can embark on a nursing programme even after several O-level sittings, and students are allowed to resit their O-level English while studying for a degree.
Medicine is another popular programme for Zimbabwean students and this is because Zambians take students from 10 points, said a source.
The Minister of Higher Education, Dr Amon Murwira said he saw nothing wrong with Zimbabweans going to Zambia to further their education.
“People would want to twist the story to suit their narrative, but the truth is that everyone has his own choice. We have a lot of Zimbabweans studying in China and other countries and we also have a lot of Zambians in our institutions of higher learning,” he said.
The Mirror, however, tried to establish whether Zimbabwe has Zambians in its institutions of higher learning but found none. Foreign students from the region who used to come to Zimbabwe because of political instability in their countries are no longer around.
“I am a registered agent. I process scores of applications every day. Programmes in Zambia begin at $300 upwards. Life is cheaper in Zambia, because of the stable currency. Most people take nursing courses,” said Mukina
He said that some of the popular institutions are Africa University, Cavendish University (Lusaka), Central African Baptist University, Chreso University, Copperstone University, Eden University, Gideon Robert University, Information and Communications University (ICU), Lusaka Apex Medical University, Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) (Lusaka).
Rusangu University, South Valley University, St. Bonaventure University, Texila American University Zambia, UNICAF University, University of Lusaka, Victoria Falls University of Technology (VFU), Zambia Catholic University and Zambian Open University
Mukina said he processes hundreds of applications every month from Zimbabweans seeking enrolment at Zambian colleges. Masvingo Mirror

Mnangagwa Hints At Handing Over Power

By- Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hinted at his succession plan after telling his family that his deputy Constantino Chiwenga saved his life when he was poisoned at a Zanu PF rally in Gwanda in 2017.

Mangudya Calls For Prayers As Zim-Dollar Sinks Again

By-The Central Bank Governor, John Mangudya, has called for prayers and said that Zimbabweans should not panic about the continued fall of the Zim dollar value.

The official and street rates have been comparatively stable in August, but this week, the local unit fell to ZWL$4 712.16: US$1 from ZWL$4 604.62: US$1 three weeks ago.

Ban Chinamasa, Mutsvangwa from Zambia

By A Correspondent- Zambian political activist Joseph Kalimbwe has taken legal action against Patrick Chinamasa, a member of Zimbabwe’s Zanu PF politburo, accusing him of making death threats against Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema. The move comes as tensions between Zambia and Zimbabwe escalate following Zimbabwe’s controversial elections last month, which received widespread condemnation from observer missions.

The Southern African Development Community (Sadc) election observer mission, led by former Zambian Vice-President Nevers Mumba, released a scathing report stating that the Zimbabwean elections failed to meet regional standards. This led to strained relations between the two countries, with Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party attempting to discredit the report and labelling President Hichilema as a Western puppet.

Joseph Kalimbwe, expressing his discontent on social media, called for Patrick Chinamasa and newly-appointed War Veterans Minister Christopher Mutsvangwa to be banned from entering Zambia. Kalimbwe accused Chinamasa of disrespecting the passing of Zambia’s late leader and threatened to file a criminal case against him for the alleged death threats.

“Patrick Chinamasa and Christopher Mutsvangwa must be banned from ever setting foot on Zambian soil. We can’t have folks like Patrick mock the passing of our leader and still be allowed entry into our country,” Kalimbwe said on social media platform X.

This recent development follows a protest by Hakainde Hichilema’s United Party for National Development supporters, who condemned the ruling Zanu PF party for the threats against their leader during the reopening of copper mines in Chingola and Chililabombwe.

Patrick Chinamasa responded to the allegations by stating that he would need to read the content before making any comments. He had previously triggered controversy by defending the disputed election and suggesting that Nevers Mumba would fail, drawing comparisons to the late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa.

There are claims in Lusaka that Zanu PF is collaborating with Zambian opposition to harm Hakainde Hichilema. In response, Copperbelt provincial minister Elisha Matambo vowed to petition international and regional bodies to investigate the threats against Hichilema’s life.

Christopher Mutsvangwa, when approached for comment, emphasized the enduring bond between Zimbabwe and Zambia, refusing to directly address the matter.

Mutsvangwa had previously criticized Nevers Mumba, dismissing him as an election observer and referring to him as “a mere preacher” following the August 23 elections.

The situation between Zambia and Zimbabwe remains tense as these allegations and disputes continue to strain the relationship between the two neighbouring countries.

ED appoints 3 more deputy ministers

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed three more deputy ministers.

In a statement, Acting Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Martin Rushwaya, said the three were appointed in terms of Subsection 2 of Section 104 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

The three deputy ministers are Polite Kambamura (Mines and Mining Development), Chido Sanyatwe (Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, and Roy Bhila (Industry and Commerce).

Kambamura is the MP for Sanyati and was Deputy Mines Minister during Mnangagwa’s first term in office. He now deputises Zhemu Soda who was moved from Energy and Power Development to Mines in the new Cabinet.

Sanyatwe is the MP for Nyanga North and also the wife to Zimbabwe ambassador to Tanzania and former Presidential Guard commander, Anselem Sanyatwe.

Bhila is Chiredzi North MP and the secretary-general of the Commercial Sugarcane Farmers Association (CFAZ).

On Thursday, three Deputy Ministers were sworn in at the State House. The three are:

  • Deputy Minister for Youth Empowerment Development and Vocational Training Kudakwashe Mupamhanga
  • Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Joshua Sacco
  • Deputy Minister for Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation and Science and Technology Development Simelisizwe Sibanda.

Thieves Rob Bank Street Shop

Bridget Makoni, a businesswoman located in Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital city, was the victim of a burglary at her shop on Tuesday night, according to police reports.

Thieves broke into Ms. Makoni’s shop on Bank Street by entering through the roof. They made off with some cash and 48 cellphones totalling over US$6,000 worth of goods and merchandise.

Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, a spokesperson for the Harare provincial police, stated that authorities are actively investigating the incident. Inspector Chakanza noted that the stolen items taken from Ms. Makoni’s shop are valued at approximately $6,359. Unfortunately, none of the goods have been recovered as of now.

The break-in of Ms. Makoni’s business represents an unfortunate violation and financial loss for a local entrepreneur. The police investigation aims to bring the perpetrators to justice and recover the stolen property. Let us hope the culprits are apprehended swiftly so Ms. Makoni and others feel secure once more in Zimbabwe’s capital city.

Lula lula loving supervisor resigns

Amidst mounting pressure, a disgraced supervisor at a retail outlet in Gweru, who was running a lula lula-for-jobs ring, has chosen to resign from his position. The scandal, first reported exclusively by H-Metro, has sent shockwaves through the Midlands capital and neighbouring areas such as Kwekwe and Zvishavane.

The supervisor, Abel Chikanya, came under scrutiny after a group of employees were dismissed due to a series of theft incidents at the supermarket. H-Metro broke the story on Monday, exposing an explosive audio recording in which Chikanya engaged in a conversation with one of his subordinates named Fezile. Fezile’s husband, known as VaMoyo, grew suspicious that she had obtained her job through illicit means.

In the leaked conversation, Fezile explicitly stated that her relationship with Chikanya was not based on love but on an inappropriate arrangement to secure her employment and fulfill Chikanya’s fantasies. She believed that Chikanya should have used his authority to protect her or, at the very least, facilitated her transfer to either Kwekwe or Zvishavane.

Fezile revealed that she had deceived her husband by claiming to be on a 21-day leave, concealing the fact that she had lost her job due to the theft cases. She cautioned Chikanya about the potential consequences of their actions, highlighting the severe repercussions he could face if the truth came to light.

H-Metro has exclusively disclosed that Chikanya tendered his resignation on Wednesday evening, following his suspension on the previous Friday. However, sources indicate that this scandal is merely the tip of the iceberg, as the workplace relationships within the establishment had created a pervasive culture of misconduct. The existence of such illicit romantic relationships between supervisors and subordinates undermines respect and contributes to issues like theft.

H-Metro has also obtained chat records between Chikanya and another woman identified as Annette, whom he refers to as “Mwana waDaddy.” In these conversations, Annette accuses Chikanya of predatory behaviour, questioning the ethics of his actions.

Pumula South Vuzu party teens arrested

Police in Bulawayo have initiated investigations into a Vuzu party that was held at a house in Pumula South suburb on Friday.

The infamous Vuzu parties are social events where youth, mostly teenagers engage in excessive beer drinking, drug abuse and sex orgies.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) this Saturday, police said the party had 14 learners who wearing uniforms from different schools.

Condoms and empty beer containers were found at the party. Police said:

Police in Bulawayo are investigating an incident in which 14 students, who were wearing different school uniforms, were found at a Vuzu party at a certain house in Pumula South on 15/07/23. Condoms and empty containers of alcohol were recovered at the scene.

In 2019, one of the attendees of the early Vuzu parties or Vuzooms, Leroy Mufudzi described their genesis in 2011.

He told a weekly publication that the Vuzu parties started at Bulawayo’s Hillside dams where a kombi owner called Max would bring students and girls from private colleges.

The kombi had a booming sound system, which suggests the origins of the name “Vuzooms”. Said Mufudzi:

The first Vuzu parties started at Hillside Dams.

They were held there and most people would just come to party close to the gate at Dams.

The masterminds of the whole Vuzu thing or I can call them the founders, were this guy called Max and others.

He was a dreadlocked guy and he had a kombi with a booming sound system. He used to take girls from Girls College using that kombi.

We would go there and the guy’s car would be the life of the party. It would be the only sound system and people would gather around it.

There you would find students from CBC, Girls College, Convent, Eveline, Townsend, Milton and Plumtree. The boys who had the most shine were from CBC and Plumtree.

It was a thing for private school kids so you didn’t have a lot of people from the western areas.

But as time went on, one person that goes to CBC that was from the western areas would bring another from the western areas and that one would bring another and on and on it went.

In August 2022, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Bulawayo Province Inspector Abednico Ncube declared that Vuzu parties had been dealt with and were a thing of the past.

Man hauled to court over fake bank statements

A 25 year old man from Harare recently appeared before a local magistrate on accusations of forging financial documents. Luke Sibanda was arraigned in court after being apprehended by officials investigating fraudulent activity.

According to reports, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) received a tip that Sibanda was supplying false bank statements to Zimbabwean citizens applying for UK visas. In an undercover operation, a ZACC officer posed as a potential customer. It’s alleged Sibanda demanded $160 USD for the prohibited service.

Acting on this information, ZACC investigators set a trap on September 11th. They arrested Sibanda and recovered several fabricated bank statements, letters of recommendation on various letterheads, and fake date stamps from different organizations within his office.

During his court appearance yesterday, Sibanda was granted $300 bail and the case was remanded to October 25th for trial. State prosecutor Pardon Dziva will handle the matter against Sibanda, who faces charges related to forging official documents.

Grade 7 girl kills self

A 13 year old girl in Mutare, killed herself after being reprimanded by her mother.

Shylet Matanhire, a 7th grade student at Maps Primary School, consumed rat poison on Sunday evening following an argument with her mother over returning home late.

According to interviewed relatives, Shylet left her siblings alone and went away with a 15-year-old boy (name withheld) who stays nearby.

Shylet had gone out that day without informing her siblings. She did not return until 8pm, prompting concern from her mother Mai Matanhire. After being questioned about her whereabouts, Shylet went into her mother’s room. She took rat poison and consumed it.

She confessed what she had done and was rushed by neighbours to a local clinic before being transferred to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital. Despite medical treatment, Shylet succumbed to organophosphate poisoning in the early hours of Monday.

Shylet was laid to rest on Tuesday amid mourning from family and community. Her aunt Sophia Mazeya expressed shock, saying Shylet was typically well-behaved. Inspector Norbert Muzondo of the Manicaland police confirmed the case is under investigation.

Komichi calls for dialogue

MDC-T chairman Morgen Komichi has urged President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Nelson Chamisa to engage in dialogue and push for an inclusive government.

Speaking in an interview with a local publication, Komichi said an inclusive government will unify the nation following the disputed 23 August elections. Said Komichi:

For the purposes of unity, peace and love, ZANU PF’s Mnangagwa and the opposition’s Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Nelson Chamisa should have dialogue.

For the opposition, it would be unwise to throw away more than 1.9 million votes garnered by the largest opposition party in the just-ended harmonised elections.

It would also be unfortunate for Mnangagwa if he does not see reason for engagement.

It is therefore advisable for both to push for a government of inclusivity.

In 2009, ZANU PF and the then main opposition party, MDC-T, formed an inclusive government that facilitated improvements in the economy, health and the provision of social services.

The drafting of a new constitution which was adopted in 2013 was one of the major achievements of the inclusive government.

However, Mnangagwa recently said he was not interested in appointing opposition members to the Cabinet.

He has already installed a 26-member Cabinet and also appointed his son and nephew as Deputy Ministers.

Man lives with lover 2 months, discovers he is a man

It’s the kind of nightmare nobody would ever want to endure, but “tragedy” struck a prominent Kwekwe dealer who found himself entangled in a sodomy controversy when he allegedly discovered that the person he had been living with for two months was, in fact, a man.

Yes, you read that correctly. James Mapawa, a 40-year-old well-known dealer at Narrans Building in Kwekwe’s central business district, reportedly uncovered the true identity of his partner, Praise Mpofu, aged 25, after an unexpected revelation during a sexual encounter.

The situation came to light following a falling out between Mapawa and Praise, who had been posing as a woman. Apparently, Praise had been dressing and presenting as a female.

The story began in July, on an unspecified date, at a Kwekwe nightclub where Mapawa first encountered Praise, who was disguised as a woman. Mapawa expressed romantic interest in Praise, who reciprocated, and they subsequently began living together in a shared house.

The turning point occurred on September 7, while the two were engaged in sexual intercourse, when Praise reportedly experienced an erection. This unexpected revelation left Mapawa in shock, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation.

Shaken and outraged by the startling discovery, Mapawa reported the incident to the police, resulting in the arrest of both individuals.

They were subsequently brought before Kwekwe magistrate Itai Kagwere, facing charges of sodomy. During the court appearance, they were not required to enter a plea and were granted bail, each in the amount of $100,000.

Kudakwashe Mazorodze represented the State in the proceedings.

Daring Convict Assaults Prison Officer

An unapologetic offender who caused a commotion by assaulting a prison officer in front of a magistrate and attempting to escape before being apprehended has been sentenced to jail.

Banele Ncube, aged 19, who no longer warranted leniency, received his prison sentence when he appeared before Kezi resident magistrate Busani Sibanda, facing charges of assault and escaping from lawful custody. He pleaded guilty to both charges.

For the first assault charge, he received a three-month prison sentence, with an additional six months, which were previously suspended due to a prior conviction. Regarding the charge of escaping from lawful custody, he was handed a three-month jail term, but one month was suspended for five years, contingent on him not committing a similar offense. If convicted of a similar offense, he would face imprisonment without the option of a fine.

In total, Ncube will serve 11 months behind bars. The magistrate took into account the serious nature of the charges and the need for a deterrent sentence when determining the punishment. He emphasized that a custodial sentence was appropriate for Ncube.

The prosecution argued that Ncube had undermined the criminal justice system by assaulting a prison officer in the presence of a magistrate. Therefore, the court needed to be firm with him to encourage rehabilitation and prevent him from becoming a hardened criminal.

The magistrate also noted that Ncube had a history of repeated offenses and was failing to mature and act his age.

The court learned that on September 6 this year, Praymore Mhlanga boarded a Honda Fit driven by Ncube from Bango Business Centre in Kezi to Maphisa. Mhlanga informed Ncube that he had US$100. Upon reaching Maphisa, Ncube demanded his money, but Mhlanga requested to find change. This request angered Ncube, leading to him forcibly removing Mhlanga from the car and physically assaulting him.

Mhlanga reported the incident to the police, resulting in Ncube’s arrest and subsequent sentencing to 12 months in prison, with six months suspended for five years, and the remaining six months suspended on the condition that he completes 210 hours of community service. However, Ncube failed to fulfill the community service, leading to a warrant for his arrest and subsequent apprehension.

“Cabinet appointments- the usual boob”:

With former television personality Tatenda Mavetera thrown into the mix, one needs very little imagination to describe Zimbabwe’s Cabinet that was sworn into office early this week following a sham election. And with two 2 ) Mutsvangwas, six (6) women and three ( 3 ) Mnangagwas, ED’s latest executive is basically a Studio 263 Cabinet of sorts!

There has been a furore over his latest appointments not only because he appointed his sons as Ministers but by dint of the clueless greenhorns therein ,some of them given to the naive frailty of plagiarism through copy and paste.

Once again, and for the second time in five years, ED has made the usual boob of appointing as Ministers a higher threshold of non-elected MPs as he should, leading to some of them being Ministers for only 24 hours, as he did in 2018. The monumental boob, the second one in five years, speaks volumes not only about the so -called President but of the calibre of the team around him, including one George Charamba, he of the high verbiage who communicates like a 1980s upper top student out to impress at the school assembly.

Not surprisingly, ED’s highly Karangized Ministerial team comprises nine Ministers who all come from Gutu. These are Winston Chitando, Barbra Rwodzi, Yeukai Simbanegavi, Amon Murwira, John Paradza, Obert Mazungunye, Tatenda Mavetera, Anxious Masuka and Lovemore Matuke,

For some, perhaps it is still fresh information that ED is simply a clanist, a base politician given to nepotism by dint of his close family members, cjans-men, clans-women as well as his Karanga tribesmen and tribeswomen he has foisted to top positions in both the party and the State since 2017..

Now with his Studio 263 Cabinet of two Mutsvangwas, six women and three Mnangangwas, ED has simply confirmed his thespian and nepotist credentials as a tribalist director of this tragi-comic soap.

But readers of this column will recall that I have previously unmasked this village EDiot masquerading as Zimbabwe’s Head of State for his clan and filial proclivities. ED is just but a brazen nepotist who not only steals elections but stuffs the entire State and party institutions with children, cousins, nephews and aunties.

Some have hinted that all indications point to the fact that Mnangagwa may have deliberately sworn in this clueless Cabinet well aware that these are temporary appointments pending either a fresh election or an inclusive government brokered by SADC. For him, maybe he fancies this so-called Cabinet simply as window-dressers, temporary appointments pending a decisive SADC resolution on Zimbabwe, much like the temporary cabin one erects on his stand before he builds the actual house.

Dear reader, following the 2017 coup and the stolen elections of 2018, I walked you through the list of relatives, brothers, cousins, nieces, uncles and long-time factionalists that ED had appointed into the party and government, some of whom have surfaced yet again in this clueless Cabinet of thespian comedians.

Mnangagwa’s appointments early this week of his children, clansmen, clanswomen and factionalists have simply reinforced what I wrote a few years ago when I revealed to you, my esteemed readers, the network of relatives factionalists and acolytes that the Croc had stuffed into the party and government since 2017 when he putsched his way into power.

In April 2021, I wrote the following piece where I revealed Mnangagwa’s vast and intricate network of his family, friends and relatives mainly of his Karanga tribe that he has stuffed into the top echelons of the party, government and quasi-State institutions.

Mnangagwa and_his _primitive ethnic villagisation of the party and State

We currently live in the brave, digital 21st century but in Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe finds itself saddled with an analogue authoritarian leader still pursuing the primitive politics of tribalism, regionalism, cronyism and villagism. He has pursued rchaic politics synonymous with the age of the Munhumutapa Empire and others at the time.

This instalment seeks to show that Mnangagwa, acting like a typical village clansman, who somehow ended up vested with state power, has systematically brought in family and a mainly Karanga clique from the Midlands and Masvingo provinces — a tribal coterie that has now been purposely deployed or retained in strategic party and State institutions as part of the regional and tribal politics of our so-called new dispensation.

It is a sad tale of Zuze comes to town, the story of the primitive commoner who brings his all to the city. In our case, Mnangagwa has brought relatives and cronies to the cradle of national power so they can share with him his privileged but stolen hour in the sun.

The mentality is crude, yet clear: It is our time to eat.Mugabe did it. His cronies and sister Sabina’s sons, including Leo Mugabe, were variously deployed to strategic institutions, while Patrick Zhuwao was a Cabinet minister in his uncle’s final hour.

Mugabe’s son-in-law, Simba Chikore, was deployed to head Air Zimbabwe and went on to form Zim Airways using public funds, while his other brother-in-law, Sydney Gata, husband to his sister Regina, was in charge at the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, the country’s power utility.

Others from the Mugabe family were seconded as executives to quasi-State institutions such as the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board and the Zimbabwe National Road Authority while Innocent Matibiri was the second-in command at the Zimbabwe Republic Police. There were other relatives in state institutions, including in ministries and institutions like the national prosecution or Attorney-General’s office.

At the time of his ouster, Mugabe’s wife, Grace, was the Zanu PF women’s league boss and was fancying her chances of occupying the highest office in the land.

Other non-state actors like businessman Philip Chiyangwa also name-dropped, calling themselves Gushungo, Mugabe’s clan name, to get favours from the State.

Of course, not all of Mugabe’s relatives benefitted from his rule. Some like Adam Molai, who is married to the Mugabe family, made their money in the private sector.

However, this naked nepotism and cronyism was rampant under Mugabe and that was one of the many reasons ED and company removed him from office.

But Mnangagwa claimed his so-called new dispensation was a break with this past — a dark and insidious past characterised by unadulterated clan and village politics.

But Mnangagwa’s promise was blatantly misleading. He has, in fact, entrenched and deepened the culture of tribalism and cronyism, showing he is Mugabe’s best student indeed.

In Mnangagwa’s case, it has been a systematic plot to use family, acolytes, tribesmen and cronies to take over arms and institutions of the State for self-aggrandisement.

We were in an equally insidious, so-called Second Republic or is it now third Republic in which Mnangagwa’s clansmen and tribesmen, nieces and nephews, friends and associates have all been strategically placed across a vast array of State and quasi-State institutions to protect and entrench narrow personal and clique interests.

Tribesmen and cronies, mainly from his Masvingo and Midlands home provinces, have been deployed, jointly and severally, to strategic spaces in both party and government. It is so blatant and shameless that it leaves Zimbabweans genuinely interested in appreciating diversity and nation-building cringing.

For a President to sit down and appoint his sons, village boys and tribal cronies as ministers and other key government officials in this day and age is cringeworthy.

Village politics at play

It all starts right from his village. While the Midlands is Mnangagwa’s adopted home province where he pursues his farming and mining interests, the man was born in the Mangwana area of Chivi in Masvingo province. That is what he considers his original home. That informs his politics and national or party deployment policy.

For instance, it is no wonder that Paul Mangwana, a fellow villager and close associate sits in the Zanu PF Politburo, while the brother Ndavaningi Nick Mangwana was brought in from the United Kingdom to become the chief government spokesperson in his capacity as the permanent secretary in the ministry of Media, Information and Broadcasting Services. Jasper Mangwana is a Commissioner in the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) while Lovedale Mangwana has been the incessant litigant recently used by Mnangagwa to judicialise our politics and to corruptly remove competition from the ballot paper.

Upon his appointment as Vice-President under Mugabe, Mnangagwa bequeathed his Chirumhanzu-Zibagwe parliamentary seat to his wife Auxilia ,while his nephew Tongai and Kudakwashe David, both Mnangagwas, are now Ministers of Government.

ED simply believes in keeping it all in the family.

Prominent lawyer Edwin Manikai is part of Mnangagwa’s ethnic networks from Chivi as well. His mother is a MaMoyo. In fact, insiders say his mother and Mnangagwa’s mother are siblings. Manikai is the chair of the Presidential Advisory Council. True, cousins and brothers have always advised each other — only this time Mnangagwa has institutionalised and ekavsted brotherly advice to State level!

Josiah Dunhira Hungwe, yet another Chivi homeboy, was always a close ally of Mnangagwa since the heady days of Zanu PF maverick Eddison Zvobgo’s era. Today, Vincent Hungwe, Mnangagwa’s Chivi homeboy, from the Vuranda area, is the chairperson of the Public Service Commission, responsible for the entire civil service of Zimbabwe.

Talk of the petty family, village and tribal politics.

Others have derisively referred to Mnangagwa’s regime as Moyo, Sibanda & Associates, given the intricate filial, totemic and tribal links of the key characters in the State. Before former Foreign Affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo’s death, there was him in the network, his cousin brother Elson Moyo, who is the Air Force of Zimbabwe commander, Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) boss Director-General Isaac Moyo, Military Intelligence chief Thomas Moyo and Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander General Philip Valerio Sibanda — indeed Moyos and Sibandas — all from the Midlands.

The Sibandas are part of Mnangagwa’s family. Some of Mnangagwa’s family members also use the name Sibanda, derived from their Shumba totem. In Ndebele, Sibanda denotes Shumba in Shona.

It is no wonder therefore that upon Constantino Chiwenga’s appointment as Vice- President, Mnangagwa appointed his cousin Phillip Valerio Sibanda as commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

That is why there were genuine concerns when Mnangagwa at one point mulled appointing Valerio to take over as the co-Vice-President after Kembo Mohadi was forced to resign through well-choreographed state-sanctioned CIO leaks on his adulterous shenanigans.

Valerio Sibanda was ZAPU so there would not have been any allegations of flouring the unity accord, even though the army chief is his brother.

With a member of the family in charge of the country’s armed services in the aftermath of the coup, Sibanda’s appointment could be regarded as having been an overt case of coup-proofing in case the army got excited again as they had been in November 2017.

With a family member now in charge of the country’s armoury, any fears of yet another coup in the immediate to short term might have been sufficiently allayed.

Now that the restlessness in that regard appears to have been quelled with the attendant appointment of pliant brigadiers-general and key army staff across the board, Mnangagwa’s cousin was at one point seriously considered to go higher to checkmate the other Vice-President with the same military credentials.

And since the Sibandas are Mnangagwa’s cousins, it must come as no surprise therefore that Misheck Sibanda, another homeboy and relative of the President, was retained as the chief secretary to the President and Cabinet, even after the coup. This strategic post has been retained in the family.

The Rushwayas and Mnangagwa

The Rushwayas are Mnangagwa’s blood relatives. They are his nephews and nieces. Martin Rushwaya, a nephew, is currently the Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet responsible for administration and finance. The same Martin Rushwaya is a close relation to Henrietta Rushwaya and Helliet Rushwaya.

After the 2018 election, Helliet was appointed chief executive officer at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation entrusted with running government and the party’s propaganda, while Henrietta is that lady who was arrested at the airport with six kilogrammes of gold while in the company of a team of Mnangagwa’s personal bodyguards that included one Stephen Tserayi.

Henrietta is back at work at the Zimbabwe Miners’ Federation, despite facing serious charges that have since collapsed like a deck of cards, charges which expose the massive leakages in the country’s extractive industry.

Dear reader, I hope it is all making sense now.

The Moyos in key positions

Mnangagwa’s mother is a MaMoyo and the Moyos are his maternal uncles. Obediah Moyo, a maternal uncle, was appointed minister of Health and Child Care in the early days of the previous administration but was later suspended from government following his arrest on corruption charges.

Isaac Moyo, yet another maternal uncle of Mnangagwa, was recalled from South Africa where he was serving as the country’s ambassador. He is now the head of the CIO, while Elson Moyo, yet another maternal uncle, took over from the late Perrance Shiri and is now the head of the Air Force of Zimbabwe.

In the ministry of Agriculture, Shiri was replaced by yet another Mnangagwa ally and clansman, Anxious Masuka. All of Mnangagwa’s anxiety in the agricultural sector may have now been quashed as the highly political Pfumvudza programme is firmly in the hands of his faction loyalist and Karanga tribesman.

Masuka was retained as Agriculture Minister early this week

And still on the Moyos: July Moyo, for long the Lacoste faction’s chief strategist, has just yet again just been retained a Cabinet Minister but with a different portfolio.

SB Moyo, the deceased minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, was also an uncle, but being a soldier, his allegiance was more to Chiwenga and this may yet explain a lot of imponderables, maybe including why he is not with us today.

Mnangagwa has always had political interests in Kwekwe, where he “discovered” Owen Mudah Ncube, who began as a mushurugwi , a machete-wielding mining thug who represented Mnangagwa’s mining interests in the town.

Today, Mnangagwa has brought his mukorokoza into government yet again as Provincial Affairs Minister after being temporarily shunted into political Siberia when he was fired as State Security Minister.

They say fate is a capricious woman. By dint of tribal and factional connections, Mudha has morphed from being a machete wielding mukorokoza into a besuited Minister of government.

Tribesmen in Cabinet

Apart from the Moyos, his maternal uncles appointed in the early days of Mnangagwa’s administration and allies such as Masuka and Muda Ncube, other Karanga homeboys that have yet again been retained in Cabinet include Mines minister Winston Chitando from Gutu Central and Professor Amon Murwira from Nzuwa village in the same Gutu area.Gutu has provided nine Ministers this time around.

Another Karanga from Zvishavane and a long-time ally of Mnangagwa is the infamous Willowgate convicted criminal, Frederick Shava.

Cabinet meetings may yet begin to look like clan or tribal meetings. In the Mnangagwa compound there are three ministers while two other Cabinet ministers can be found on Christopher Muttsvangwa’s matrimonial bed!

If Mnangagwa’s relative dies, the whole government, certainly Cabinet, might have to be suspended. Everyone would be attending the funeral as they are:either relatives, tribesmen or close friends.

Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri may be a Manicaland godmother and a key Mnangagwa ally who speaks with a fluent Manyika accent, but she is a Karanga from Masvingo whose father went to Manicaland as an agricultural extension worker (mudhumeni/umlimisi) and settled in the province.

As shall be explained later, it was Muchinguri-Kashiri who was influential in the appointment of her own niece the late Ellen Gwaradzimba and the current Provincial Affairs Minister for 24 hours, Nokuthula Matsikenyeri. Nokuthula is yet another Karanga homegirl, who just happens to have been married into a Manyika family in Chimanimani.

And here, I have not yet mentioned Ziyambi Ziyambi a fellow Karanga retained as Justice Minister. That he transacts his politics in another province in Mashonaland may yet cloud the toxic tribal and factional nature of his appointment.

n the party’s key commissariat department, after Engelbert Rugeje, a soldier and a fellow Karanga from Masvingo who is a Chiwenga loyalist, began to show leanings towards the military faction of the party, and Mnangagwa was quick to slot in yet another Karanga and a Midlander from Gokwe, Victor Matemadanda.

Indeed, for some time, Mnangagwa fancied himself the victor in the battle for the control of the soul of the party, which is the party’s commissariat department that is in charge of all party structures. Matemadanda was later retired.

Other key Mnangagwa *cronies

Douglas Munatsi

The late Douglas Munatsi was yet another of Mnangagwa’s cronies, representing a vast array of the dear leader’s financial and commercial interests.

Munatsi, appointed chairperson of the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency and who died in mysterious circumstances, was implicated as having been part of the team that used its financial muscle to capture both The Financial Gazette and The Daily News that are now parroting the views of the State, leaving Zimpapers’ major titles like The Herald and The Chronicle green with envy.

It was during the capture of this stable that former Daily News editor Stan Gama unceremoniously left the newspaper as more pliable editors were put at the helm to protect Mnangagwa’s narrow political interests.

At a personal level, I am greatly pained by the blatant capture of the two newspapers, The Daily News and The Financial Gazette, having served as news editor at both newspapers during the era of audacious journalism when the independent press was truly independent of the political interests of the ruling elite.

I miss our golden time in the media when we used the vocation of journalism to hold government accountable and not to shamelessly parrot the selfish interests of the ruling elite.

Kuda Tagwirei

Kuda Tagwirei, the de facto Prime Minister of our land and business magnate whose finger is in every pie of the State, has his roots in Mulauzi village under chief Nhema in Shurugwi.

Tagwirei is not only a tribesmen of the dear leader, but his beloved acolyte with the licence to dabble in every lucrative deal or enterprise within the State, from fuel to bus procurement and the sourcing and supply of fertilisers.

He is the financial point man and he is the human embodiment of the phenomenon of State capture in Zimbabwe.

Midlands political dynamics

It is always tragic when presumed national leaders descend from the lofty heights of true nationalists in the mould of the great Joshua Nkomo to the plumbing depths of tribalism, regionalism and villagism.

Notwithstanding his roots in the Chivi area in Masvingo province, Mnangagwa now fancies himself a Midlands godfather and even the defections overseen by Mavima a few years ago had a regional tilt to them.

Blessing Chebundo, who almost ended Mnangagwa’s political career before Mugabe came to his rescue, is from Kwekwe, while my sister Lillian Timveos is from Zvishavane in the Midlands province. It depicts the sheer poverty of Mnangagwa’s politics that even the much-vaunted defections have failed to rise above the very limited regional precincts that have always defined the pettiness of his politics.

The late Oliver Chidawu

Mnangagwa has always serially and deliberately “exported” his Karanga allies to other provinces on party and/or government mission. He may claim he has always transacted his politics in Harare, but Harare’s now deceased provincial affairs minister Chidawu was Mnangagwa’s Karanga tribal ally.

Monica Mavhunga

Mavhunga, now a Minister of government having been provincial Affairs Minister for Mash. Central province, may have been married in her former province of service, but has her roots in Mnangagwa’s home province.

Mary Mliswa-Chikoka

Temba Mliswa’s sister is a former minister of Provincial Affairs in Mashonaland West. Mary, the oten-pampered girl is originally from Mliswa village in the Gamwa section, Shamba circuit in ward 5 of Shurugwi South.

Mliswa and Mnangagwa are of the Shumba totem and Mary’s periodic deployment to strategic political spaces begins to make sense from the perspective of her roots in Shurugwi and the totemic connection with ED..

Mike Madiro

Mike Madiro, a Mnangagwa ally since the Dinyane days in 2004, is Mnangagwa’s Karanga homeboy originally from Masvingo. Mnangagwa appointed him the deputy minister of Transport in the previous Cabinet.

Madiro was the Manicaland provincial chairperson in 2004 and travelled to Tsholotsho to do Mnangagwa’s bidding at the ill-fated Dinyane meeting where the ambitious gladiator failed to gatecrash into the presidium as Vice-President.

Madiro’s appointment as Minister in the last government, was a reward for a long journey travelled together.

Gwaradzimba and Matsikenyeri

Muchinguri-Kashiri was an aunt or a tete to the late Gwaradzimba, whom she pushed to be the Manicaland governor. Upon her death, Muchinguri-Kashiri pushed for Matsikenyeri, yet another Karanga homegirl from Masvingo who just happened to be married into a Chimanimani family to succeed her

Matsikinyeri was recently appointed as Provincial Affairs Minister but only for 24 hours due to the legal ineptitude of the appointing authority.

Joe Biggie Matiza

It is strongly believed within Zanu PF circles that the late Joel Biggie Matiza, who was Transport Minister and Zanu PF Mashonaland East provincial chairperson, was a Karanga with roots in Masvingo.

Those in the know say being Karanga is a key decision factor in Mnangagwa’s cheap tribal politics and he has deployed his tribesmen, clansmen and clanswomen to go and lead the party and government in other provinces.

The list above is not exhaustive, but it just gives a glimpse of the tribal nature of Mnangagwa’s politics and political behaviour.

Jacob Mudenda

Another former Zanu PF provincial chair who also went to the same ill-fated meeting Tsholotsho meeting 19 years ago to root for Mnangagwa is one Jacob Mudenda. The former provincial chairperson for Matabeleland North province has just been allowed, yet again, to retain his position as Speaker of Parliament to represent the enduring Lacoste interests in the August House.

More than anything, the retention of the Speakership is the due reward for an unstinting loyalty. Obligingly, he playied his own part in the recalling of elected MPs from parliament.

In fact, in the previous Parliament, Mudenda was the personification of the capture of parliament in the furtherance of a dastardly agenda to promote a one-party state in this our beloved country.

Other Mnangagwa acolytes

George Charamba

Charamba is now the deputy chief secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet. He was also retained as Presidential spokesperson. I have written in a previous instalment that Charanba has always been a key Mnangagwa ally.

At the ill-fated Tsholotsho meeting in 2004, it was Charamba, as permanent secretary in the ministry of Information and Publicity, who abused government funds to pay for the helicopter that carried the Zanu PF provincial chairpersons to the meeting in Tsholotsho.

Charamba paid ZW$9 780 750 for the helicopter and even secured clearance for it. Charamba also wrote Mnangagwa’s Tsholotsho speech, which was eventually delivered by Patrick Chinamasa

Patrick Chinamasa

Chinamasa is one of Mnangagwa’s allies who is drawing a salary and perks equivalent to that of a Cabinet minister. Chinamasa is representing Mnangagwa’s political interests at party headquarters, together with Obert Mpofu, the party’s secretary for administration.

Obert Mpofu

Mpofu is a key Mnangagwa ally in the industry of nefarious deals. Mnangagwa was the minister of Defence at the time the army got involved in diamond mining, while Obert Mpofu was Mines minister.

The two may have some knowledge on the plunder of diamonds and other minerals. Mnangagwa’s name is specifically mentioned in a United Nations report S/2002/1146 as having been part of the elite network that plundered mineral resources in the DRC.

Neville Coetzee

Contrary to propaganda that has repeatedly been parroted, it is none other than Mnangagwa who has proved to be a front for white capital interests.

The late John Bredenkamp, Omanian fugitive Ahmed Said Thamer al Shanfari, Billy Rautenbach and other shadowy capitalists have always been Mnangagwa’s key business associates over the years.

Mnangagwa has been mired in a scandal in which he has decided to displace a minority tribe in Chilonga so that his friend Coetzee can grow lucerne grass for his dairy cows. For Mnangagwa, a white crony’s grass is more important than his fellow citizens!

Conclusion

Mnangagwa’s appointment of his children, Mr and Mrs Mutsvangwa and a cast associations of family, relatives, friends and acolytes has simply confirmed that the man is a primitive tribesman.

A villagist.

In short, Mnangagwa’s family, tribesmen, clansmen and elite cronies are now firmly embedded in the upper echelons of the vast labyrinth of party and State power, representing mainly the parochial political and avaricious interests of a small, factional and largely tribal cabal.

The list and names alluded to in this treatise is not exhaustive and Mnangagwa’s filialisation and villagisation of the party and the State may turn out to be an interesting area of study fully deserving of a comprehensive research effort. An academic thesis.

During the Mugabe era, Mnangagwa was certainly biding his time, strenuously working for the moment to foist his own tribesmen and clansmen on the entire body politic. The evidence of the human resource spread across party and government shows that he may well have achieved his mission in this regard, not to mention the deliberate appointments he has made in the police force and the brigadiers-general he has appointed to fractionally and tribally tame a stubborn military.

Remember one of his sons is a senior army officer, a colonel.

Thabani Vusa Mpofu, a Midlander and a presumed Mnangagwa relative, is now in charge of the Special Anti-Corruption Unit in the President’s Office. Ironically, it is Vusa Mpofu’s own appointment that may yet be the special case of corruption and cronyism deserving of a thorough and robust investigation.

All these years as Mnangagwa fought by fair and foul means to achieve the Presidency, it now appears he was working only for an opportunity to bring his family, cronies and tribal associates into the top echelons of the party and government. He was waiting for his time to bring his own retinue of close associates, kinsmen, kinswomen, cousins and nieces to the dining table so that they could all jointly and severally plunder the country’s resources.

In the words of musician Leonard Karikoga Zhakata, the acolytes have all been called in to enjoy the honeycomb, a sumptuous dinner at the poor taxpayer’s expense:

Dai ndaive ini ndigere paye ,
Deno ndaive ini ndiripo paye ,
Ndairidza huwi ndodaidzira vamwe vangu ,
Kuno kwaita dopiro akomana ,
Huyai mose , huyai tinombore ,

Now that the clansman has stolen State power, his children, family members, fellow tribesmen and tribeswomen are today gathered at the dinner table, voraciously partaking to the national honeycomb.

The nation may bark, as I am currently doing through this epistle, but the tribesmen and the cronies are quietly enjoying their pilfered meal, in strict conformity to the dictates of prudent table manners that exhort silence during the eating hour!

But for how long will this last? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, dear readers, behold Mr Mnangagwa’s Studio 263 Cabinet!

Dynamos Returns To BF, Targets Chiefs

The former league champions, Dynamos FC, are once again making their way to the City of Kings and Queens for their Week 23 match against Bulawayo Chiefs, scheduled to take place at Barbourfields Stadium this Saturday.

Under the guidance of their interim head coach, Genesis Mangombe, DeMbare has been in impressive form, securing vital points. Mangombe assumed the coaching role a couple of weeks ago, succeeding Hebert Maruwa. Since then, the Glamour Boys have been on a remarkable upswing, recording three victories and two draws in their last five games.

This surge in performance has elevated their points tally to 36, leaving them just five points behind the league leaders, Ngezi Platinum Stars. The blue and white contingent from the capital city will be facing Amakhosi Amahle, currently in 11th place with 26 points.

Dynamos boasts quality within their squad, led by captain Frank Makarati and Emmanuel Jalai. Makarati expressed the team’s high spirits, stating, “We are genuinely thankful to our coaching staff and sponsors. Morale is soaring, and we aim to maintain our positive momentum. It’s still a long season ahead.”

Their recent match against Highlanders, also held at Emagumeni, was cut short due to violent incidents when Dynamos was leading 2-0 in the 38th minute. Fans on the Soweto End, unhappy with Allen Bhasvi’s officiating, began throwing objects onto the field, causing chaos.

The upcoming game promises excitement, with both teams featuring talented players. Bulawayo Chiefs boasts experienced former senior national team captain Danny “Deco” Phiri, prolific scorer Obriel Chirinda, tenacious Malvin Mkolo, hardworking Mthokozisi Msebe, and Billy Veremu, among others. Chirinda is returning from a one-game suspension that caused him to miss his club’s Week 22 fixture against Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium. The clash between these two teams will determine if Dynamos’ impressive run can be halted by Johanisi Nhumwa’s charges.

Arrest Of CCC Members Reflect Govt Fear

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has issued a warning about a concerning period ahead, citing the recent arrest of three opposition leaders within two weeks of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inauguration.

Despite the State subsequently withdrawing charges against Sunningdale Member of Parliament Maureen Kademaunga, who had been accused of attempted murder and malicious damage to property, the CCC’s Deputy Spokesperson, Ostallos Siziba, is expected to appear in court on allegations of inciting violence at a football match.

Additionally, Harare Deputy Mayor Kudzai Kadzombe, who was sworn in just days earlier, was arrested on assault charges, while CCC’s Chirumanzu South candidate, Patrick Cheza, is currently held in Whawha Prison on assault charges as well.

Siziba described these actions as indicative of a “scared and illegitimate government.”

He asserted that the recent attacks, persecution, and arrests of CCC members reflect the government’s fear, especially after the election results.

Siziba expressed concerns about the country heading into a period of illegitimacy, stagnation, and uncertainty, with a closing democratic space and an assault on dissenting voices.

He further emphasized that a disputed and discredited election cannot produce a legitimate leadership.

CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi, who recently fled the country after an alleged abduction attempt, dismissed the 2020 warrant of arrest issued by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) as an attempt to intimidate him.

Mkwananzi claimed that he had been cleared of previous charges and saw the warrant as part of ongoing efforts to suppress freedoms.

In a separate case, former CCC legislator Job Sikhala has been in Chikurubi Maximum Prison for over a year on charges of inciting violence.

Wife Arrested For Laundering Proceeds Of Robbery From Hubby

Joyline Musamba, the wife of the notorious armed robber Roy Pedzai Jambaya, appeared before Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi on charges of laundering $28,000, proceeds from a robbery her husband was involved in.

Musamba, aged 33 and represented by Kudakwashe Munyoro from Chizengeya Maeresera and Partners, was granted $200 bail and remanded to November 1.

The investigating officer, Veronica Jangano, opposed bail, citing the seriousness of the crime, which carries a lengthy custodial sentence.

The incident occurred on August 21 of this year when Jambaya, along with his accomplices and currently in remand prison, committed an armed robbery at the corner of Leopold Takawira Street and Bute Street in Harare, making off with $128,932. After the robbery, Jambaya received $28,500 as his share and entrusted it to his wife for safekeeping.

Musamba allegedly used the money to purchase a house in Natview Park, Mutare, fully aware that it was part of the proceeds from a criminal act.

Zebidiah Bofu prosecuted for the State.

Percy Tau Breaks Silence

Percy Tau has opened up on his exit at English Premier League side Brighton and Hove two years ago.

The South African forward left the club to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly in 2021 after struggling to get into the first team during his time there.

The switch was seen by some sections as a downgrade but the star had his reason to leave Brighton.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, as cited by KingFut, the Bafana Bafana international said he made the decision to leave the Premier League side to get more game-time.

“I just wanted to play football,” he said.

“I didn’t want to sit on the bench and wait for an opportunity regardless of where I was playing.

“All I wanted was to play football and be happy doing it again.”

Since arriving at Al Ahly, Percy Tau has rediscovered his form which has attracted interest from elsewhere, including a return to Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, the forward has insisted that he still has a contract with Al Ahly and he wants to remain there.

“I have a contract with Al Ahly until June 2025,” Tau said.

“We won five trophies last year and we’ll try to do it again this year. I’m happy to be competing for major trophies, Al Ahly is a big club that always tries to win.

Sithule Tshuma’s Worm-Faced Qoki Land Scam- How’re Women Being Duped?

Sithule Tshuma

By Nancy Ndaba | In recent years, Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom has witnessed a troubling surge in fraudulent land scams, leaving countless female victims in financial ruin and raising questions about the effectiveness of legal safeguards against such deceitful practices. This includes some concerning signs surrounding the United Kingdom Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and organized fraudulent schemes, which continue to rob communities of their hard-earned cash.

At the heart of one of the most intricate and devastating UK based scam is the enigmatic figure of a Zimbabwean born Sithule Tshuma, UK trained Staff nurse, the founder of Qoki Zindlovukazi, a UK-based company that purports to offer lucrative land development opportunities as empowerment for women in Zimbabwe. This fraudulent scheme, aided by a network of individuals/companies including Karen Kumalo, Nompilo Moyo, Bridget Dube, Witness Sibelu, Lovemore Sibanda, Zibusiso Charles Ncube and Qoki Medical Clinic to name a few, has drawn attention to the need for a deeper analysis of the theoretical framework underpinning such scams.

Sithule Tshuma, a name that has become synonymous with deception and bullying, operates Qoki from her offshore base in the United Kingdom. The company’s modus operandi involves advertising prime land parcels in Zimbabwe to unsuspecting investors, promising substantial returns on their investments. To the untrained eye, these land development projects seem like a golden opportunity, luring in individuals, particularly women in the diaspora, seeking to build their lavish homes or profitable investments in a nation advertised as brimming with potential.

However, beneath the veneer of promise lies a complex web of fraudulent activities that have devastated the lives of many unsuspecting women from Matebeleland, Bulawayo. Karen Kumalo, one of the key players in this nefarious scheme, is married to Thami Cele, a well-known owner of the Locs n Style Studios salon in Norwood, UK. Questions have arisen regarding the possible connection between the ill-gotten gains from the land scam and the funding of this salon empire. Karen’s involvement adds a layer of intrigue to an already convoluted plot, raising suspicions about how deep the roots of this fraud stretch.
Nompilo Moyo, Bridget Dube, Witness Sibelu, Zibusiso Ncube, and Lovemore Sibanda have emerged as key figures in the promotion of Qoki’s land development ventures.

Their active involvement has been instrumental in persuading potential investors of the credibility of these opportunities. By utilizing Qoki Medical Clinic as the designated payment hub for the company, they added an air of legitimacy to the entire operation, particularly targeting unsuspecting women who placed trust in the women’s association with a medical facility. Presently, the full extent of their complicity and participation in this fraudulent scheme is undergoing thorough investigation. Their roles in this elaborate web of deceit are being scrutinized to ascertain the depth of their involvement in the deceptive land projects orchestrated by Sithule’s company Qoki.

What makes this fraudulent land scam particularly troubling is the multi-faceted approach employed by its orchestrators. Deceptive marketing tactics, including the use of falsified land development documents, deception, fake testimonials, and misleading Face Book promotional materials, have been systematically employed to lure unsuspecting investors. These tactics, coupled with the promise of enormous financial returns by Sithule, ‘the land is yours antics’, and ‘clean Title Deeds’, have proven to be highly effective in duping individuals into parting with their hard-earned money.

Furthermore, reports of bullying tactics continue to be used by Qoki and its associates to intimidate and silence those who become suspicious or vocal about their concerns. Threats, harassment, and even verbal aggression/violence have been employed to maintain a shroud of secrecy around the operation. This appalling harassment tactic has also been attempted on journalists who are advocating for the victims.

The complicity of legal professionals in the fraudulent conveyancing processes of these land deals raises additional questions about the mechanisms that enable such scams to persist. Lawyers who should serve as gatekeepers of legality have been implicated in facilitating the fraudulent transactions, thereby further undermining the trust and confidence individuals place in the legal system.

To further delve into the mechanics of such schemes, an in-depth exploration of the theoretical framework behind Sithule Tshuma, a mastermind orchestrating a series of fraudulent land development projects. Sithule’s manipulation of legal processes, utilization of bullying tactics, and collaboration with a legal professional warrants a closer examination of the theoretical underpinnings that enable her activities to persist.

Theoretical Foundations:
Criminological Theories: Since 2020, Sithule’s Qoki, has over 30 projects worth over US$25 million that have not come to fruition. Most of these projects have skimpy contracts, fraudulent Title Deeds, or no legal documentation. Sithule’s involvement in fraudulent land endeavors can be understood through rational choice theory, where calculated decisions are guided by the balance of benefits and risks. In some land projects, Sithule deliberately inflated prices with intentions of enriching herself. In pursuit of substantial financial gain, coupled with a perceived lack of consequences, fuels Sithule’s engagement in multiple fraudulent projects. Moreover, strain theory sheds light on her resort to criminality due to the disconnection between societal aspirations and lawful avenues. The failure to achieve success within conventional boundaries might be driving her toward fraudulent activities.

White-Collar Crime Theory: Several women that Sithule claims she was empowering are in worse financial recurrence. Sithule’s participation in fraudulent land scams aligns with opportunity theory, suggesting that white-collar criminals capitalize on favorable circumstances. The inadequacy of regulatory measures within the land development sector creates fertile ground for Sithule’s fraudulent operations to flourish.
Social Psychological Theories: Sithule’s reliance on bullying tactics is best examined through deindividuation theory. This theory highlights how individuals, when part of a group, experience diminished self-awareness and heightened impulsivity.

Sithule potentially exploits this psychological phenomenon to coerce victims into compliance and deter them from questioning the legitimacy of his operations.

Aspects of the Fraudulent Land Scam:
Deceptive Land Development Projects: Sithule’s implementation of fraudulent land projects involves intricate manipulations of property records, forgery of ownership documents, and fabrication of development plans.

These actions resonate with theories of white-collar crime and rational choice, where Sithule strategically calculates the benefits of her actions against perceived risks.

Bullying Tactics: Sithule,s resort to bullying tactics underscores her desire for control over victims. By inducing fear and intimidation, she aims to dissuade victims from exposing her operations. The application of deindividuation theory offers insight into the psychological mechanisms at play, as Sithule exploits the diminished sense of accountability that arises in group settings.

Involvement of Professional Lawyer in Fraudulent Conveyancing Processes: The complicity of a legal professional in Tshuma’s fraudulent conveyancing processes underscores ethical concerns within the legal realm. This dynamic can be analyzed through the lens of strain theory, as the lawyer potentially sees an opportunity to bridge financial gaps through illicit means due to perceived societal pressures.

The case of Qoki Sithule Tshuma’s fraudulent land scam serves as a obvious reminder of the intricate web of theories and tactics that underlie white-collar crimes of this nature. While this learning has delved into the theoretical foundations, it is imperative to draw a comparison with similar cases, such as the CoS UK fraud, to identify common patterns and lessons that can be learned.
Comparing Qoki Sithule Tshuma’s operations with the CoS UK fraud reveals striking similarities in their modus operandi. Both schemes rely on deception, manipulation of legal processes, and the exploitation of unsuspecting individuals.

The involvement of seemingly legitimate professionals, like lawyers, Managers, in both cases raises significant concerns about the oversight and accountability within the legal sector, demanding a closer examination of the ethical standards and regulations governing legal and Healthcare practitioners.

Interestingly, an analysis of Sithule Tshuma’s personality also reveals traits that may have enabled her to mastermind such a fraud. Her allure, persuasiveness, and ability to manipulate others continues to play a significant role in deceiving investors. However, it is essential to delve deeper into her psyche to understand the motivations behind her actions. Sithule’s capacity for deceit, manipulation, and callousness aligns with worrying traits. She appears to be indifferent to the harm she causes to her victims and may derive pleasure from their suffering.

These tendencies could be rooted in an underlying personality condition.
On the other hand, examining her psychological health further provides valuable insights into her behavior. It is possible that underlying psychological matters, such as a propensity for deceit, narcissism, or antisocial personality traits, may have contributed to her willingness to engage in fraudulent activities. Questions remain unanswered, ‘how is a professional UK staff nurse engaging in fraudulent activities entrusted to care for vulnerable older people right in the heart of the UK?’ How did all the money deposited into her UK personal bank accounts go unnoticed by banks such as Santander and Barclays?

Where is Action Fraud UK in all this? We are reminded of Tshuma’s confessions to bribery in her own words ‘..ngadiza $4000 for every land permit (I paid $4000 bribery money for every land permit)’.

The case of Sithule Tshuma’s multi-faceted fraudulent land scam serves as a stark reminder of the need to dissect the theoretical framework that allows such schemes to flourish. By analyzing her personality traits, mental health, criminological, white-collar crime, social psychological theories and the complicity of others, we can gain a better understanding of the factors that drive individuals like her to commit such heinous crimes. Furthermore, comparing her case with the UK’s CoS fraud highlights the global nature of fraudulent schemes and the urgent need for international cooperation in combatting them. Ultimately, unraveling the theoretical framework behind these scams is essential for preventing future victimization and upholding justice.

Key Safety Tips For Miners

WestProp Holdings Ltd Wins Financial Property Legal Challenge

By Business Reporter-WestProp Holdings Ltd has won a long-standing financial property legal challenge where the High Court had initially ordered the attachment of land to counterbalance the debt with Fairclot Investments over funding a dual carriageway in Harare leading to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.

The victory was awarded to West Property Holdings by the Supreme Court Friday after Augur appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn the High Court decision to settle its debt with Fairclot in United States dollars instead of the local currency.

Supreme Court judges Justices Chinembiri Bhunu, George Chiweshe, and Hlekani Mwayera squashed the appeal.

Harare Regime Torments CCC Female MPs, Councillors

By A Correspondent

CCC city of Harare proportional representation councillor, Chido Mutize Hamauswa has challenged the Zimbabwe Republic Police to stop tormenting the party’s female candidates.

According to Hamauswa, the arrest of newly elected CCC deputy mayor, Kudzai Kadzombe, reflects the police’s violation of women’s rights.

Deputy Mayor Kadzombe has been arrested by Malborough Police.

She is being accused of assaulting a ZANUPF member in Malborough during the recent Harmonized elections.

She will appear at Harare Rotten Raw Magistrate Court tomorrow Friday @8.15am.

She is being represanted by Jeremiah Bhamu of ZLHR.

Speaking on Kadzombe’s arrest, Hamauswa said:

“We are being subjected to blatant abuse of women’s rights by the police. Of concern is the fact that police are targeting CCC female MPs and councillors.

We are getting to a situation where are gravely worried about the selective persecution of our female candidates.

Deputy Mayor Kadzombe’s case is trivial. It’s really embarrassing to note that the police are busy terrorising CCC candidates. It’s a reflection of the ZRP’s desperation and calculated gimmicks meant to cow women in politics into submission. “

Zanu PF Crosses Path With Zambia Over Reckless Remarks By Chinamasa, Rutendo Matinyarare

Copperbelt provincial minister Elisha Matambo said the Zambian government would petition international and regional bodies to investigate the threats on Hichilema’s life.

Matambo announced that Zambia will soon approach the Southern African Development Community (SADC), African Union (AU), and United Nations (UN) regarding allegations that Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu-PF party is collaborating with Zambia’s opposition to harm President Hakainde Hichilema.

He stated that the Zambian government intends to petition international and regional organizations to investigate threats against Hichilema’s life. He made these remarks while addressing a gathering of protesters who were demonstrating against Zimbabwe’s alleged interference in Zambia’s internal affairs. Matambo claimed that Patrick Chinamasa, Zanu-PF’s secretary for finance, had admitted to involvement in the death of Zambia’s former President Levy Mwanawasa.

Matambo said he had received petitions regarding threats against President Hichilema from Chinamasa and Rutendo Matinyanyire. He stated that he would deliver the petitions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for submission to SADC, the AU, and the UN. Matambo alleged that Chinamasa confessed to having a role in Mwanawasa’s death and was now planning to harm President Hichilema.

Matambo also mentioned that some individuals within Zambia’s opposition were purportedly collaborating with Chinamasa to destabilize Zambia.

Zanu-PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa referred inquiries to Chinamasa, who has not been answering his mobile phone on multiple occasions.

Hichilema’s United Party for National Development supporters accused Zanu-PF functionaries, including Chinamasa, of attempting to destabilize Zimbabwe’s northern neighbor during the reopening of the Kongola copper mines in Chingola and Chililabombwe in the Copperbelt province, according to videos circulating on social media.

Hichilema, as the SADC Troika on Politics, Defence, and Security chairperson, appointed former Zambian Vice-President Nevers Mumba to lead the regional observer mission for Zimbabwe’s recent elections. The SADC Troika is a group established to respond swiftly to political crises in the region.

Mumba’s SADC election observer mission released a critical report stating that Zimbabwe’s elections did not meet the democratic standards set by the region and the international community.

In response to the report, officials in Harare have launched a campaign to discredit Hichilema and Mumba, describing them as “Western puppets,” which has strained relations between the two nations that were formerly known as Southern and Northern Rhodesia during the colonial era.
