Impounded Bus Vandalised Inside ZIMRA Warehouse. Goods Disappear

goods stolen

By A Correspondent- Citizens here are crying foul after losing their goods which suddenly “grew legs” inside a ZIMRA depot at Beitbridge border post.

According to sources privy to the development, the RMG Coaches bus, was one of the buses impounded on December 3 2021 before it was sealed and taken away by ZIMRA for “safekeeping”.

stolen goods

Said a source whose goods were stolen:

“We raised the required amount in the hope that we would get our goods, but we are shocked that impounded goods disappear and yet the bus never left ZIMRA depot at Beitbridge.”

vandalised Bus

Added another source only identified as MaMoyo:

“It looks like this was an inside job because the bus was being kept by ZIMRA. Most of the items that were stolen are Avon products. These products are very easy to sell.”

ZimEye is in possession of receipts paid to ZIMRA in order for the bus to be released.

“We paid money for empty boxes. The seal was broken and people’s goods were stolen inside the depot. We do not know how this happened when the bus was impounded by ZIMRA and sealed.”

The matter was reported to the police.

Efforts to get a comment from ZIMRA was work in progress by the time of writing.

Nudes Published Inside AFM Church WhatsApp Group

By Religion Reporter | ZimEye | In a manifestly sinful development, a member in an AFM Church WhatsApp Group, has posted nudes leading to an explosion of complaints among congregants.

The member played a ‘Tinashe’ when he posted the offensive image in the group which is a Praise and Worship convergence.

The AFM’s Biblical virtues outlaw pornography.

ZimEye was still to obtain a comment from the male at the time of writing.

The AFM is Africa’s oldest Pentecostal organisation with the most trusted and democratic constitution in Christian history which has been recently being edited by the Church’s lawyer, and elderTawanda Nyambirai.

The below footage shows businessman and elder Tawanda Nyambirai allegedly offering pastors a total USD1 million to endorse his crafted constitution, a matter which spilt into the High Court. The latest development does not necessarily suggest the lawyer’s unChristian moves are connected to the leaking of nudes.

Chinamasa Appointment Headache For ED

By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been dragged to the Constitutional Court for behaviour that is inconsistent with provisions of the constitution after the appointment of Zanu-PF politburo member Patrick Chinamsa as Air Zimbabwe director and board chairperson, while the parastatal is under judicial management.

Mnangagwa and his lawyer Edwin Manikai are being sued together by Tichaona Mupasiri. In his 16 December court application, Mupasiri is seeking an order to declare that Mnangagwa’s action constitutes conduct that is inconsistent with the constitution.

“The First Respondent’s appointment of Chinamasa as Director and Chairman of Air Zimbabwe, a company whose control and management was divested from its directors and shareholders and vested in an Administrator appointed by the Minister of Justice pursuant to the operation of the Reconstruction of State-Indebted Insolvent Act 2005, constitutes conduct that is inconsistent with the Constitution as follows: “By engaging in a self-help scheme, interposing himself as a shareholder of Air Zimbabwe, the First Respondent failed to fulfil his obligations in terms of s90 ( I ) and s90(2)(c) by clothing himself with right to amend the Reconstruction Act that specifically vests the control and direction of the company under the Administrator.”

“By knowingly and intentionally appointing Chinamasa to be a Chairman of Air Zimbabwe, a juristic entity in its own right, the First Respondent had no title to do and usurped the power and authority of shareholders of the company, to the extent that the then Companies Act could operate concurrently with the Reconstruction of State-indebted Insolvent Companies Act.”

Mupasiri said Mnangagwa knowingly and intentionally offended the fundamental rights and freedoms of shareholders and creditors involved in the affairs of the company by appointing a representative of the company who was not accountable to shareholders but to him.

“By failing to take cognisance of the fact that the right to appoint directors falls within the scope of the exercise of fundamental rights, the First Respondent’s conduct was inconsistent with the duties imposed upon him by s90(l) and s90(2)(c) of the Constitution rendering his conduct unconstitutional and invalid,” the draft order reads.

“By allowing and actively participating in the appointment of Chinamasa, whose effect was to create an absurdity of a company having two centres of control, the First Respondent acted ultra vires s6 of the Reconstruction of State Indebted Insolvent Companies Act and in so doing failed to uphold, defend, obey and respect the Constitution as set out in s90( I ) and to uphold the rule of law as per s(90)(2)(c) of the Constitution.”-newshawks

Jean Gasho Posts Jay Z Picture Saying Forced Love vs True Affection | WHAT DOES SHE MEAN?

By Showbiz Reporter | Barely a week after slamming her polygamous husband, the activist and blogger Jean Gasho on Monday posted a picture of the US singer Jay Z with his wife, and hers saying this illustrates the difference between true and fake love.

She said:

“Rudo rwekumanikidza versus TRUE LOVE…

Don’t get it twisted ?”

Last week Gasho made a report saying her husband has threatened to take away her kids and she produced some of the communication records. She said he is demanding that she stops doing her Facebook blogging.

Below was her public statement:

Kofi contacted me last night via Instagram video call after I went to the pub alone without an escort. He’s warned me that I should stop sharing intimate details about him online during lives otherwise he’s solicitors will get in touch with me regarding that and in the long run I will lose children to him permanently if I continue what I’m doing on Facebook.

I asked him if him calling me meant we are back together but he said that’s not important at the moment and couldn’t help but cry because he’s now messing with my head when I’ve just started to move on or try to gain some sort of independence.

He said people are telling him about my Live where I spoke about my intentions of pleasing myself without him and he’s disgusted and embarrassed by my behaviour and those videos will be online forever because people would have saved and downloaded them. He said I’m trying so hard to get fame and I’m going to end up like Elikem ex-wife a laughing stock of Ghana

He said he cries when he sees me crying so He said he’s going to call me every night and sing for me until I sleep and he’s cried last night because I was crying. He took these pictures when I slept and sent me on WhatsApp where he finally unblocked me and said I should call him when I wake but been up he’s not picking.

I had such a good positive day yesterday, now I’ve been banned from doing Facebook Live videos or going out without an escort he said if I’m going to the pub I should go with his driver.

Will delete post at sunrise just wanted to let it out since he’s banned me from going live.

“Women Prone To Organised Violence, Torture In Zim”: RAU

By A Correspondent- Organised violence and torture in Zimbabwe affect women during protests more than any other civilian, hence they end up not participating in peaceful protests.

This came out during a Zoom meeting organised by the Research Advocacy and Unit (RAU) on the launch of a report on organised violence and torture in dealing with protests in Zimbabwe.

Senior Researcher at RAU Tony Reeler said women are the most affected gender when it comes to protests in Zimbabwe, where they are physically tortured, unlawfully detained and abducted together with their family members.

“From a report on OVT against women, they are abused through unlawful detention, abductions of self or family and they are physically tortured,” said Reeler.

He said that organised violence and torture (OVT) against women is allegedly perpetrated by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) who include Riot Squad, uniformed branch as well as Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

“The perpetrators who take the lead in the harassment of women during protests are police, the Army and politicians.

“It is sad to note that the police and the army are the ones on the forefront of torturing women when they are supposed to be protecting citizens by allowing them freedom to exercise their constitutional rights to protest and demonstrate.

“We focused on women because they join men in protests and their participation is a symbol that the protests or demonstrations will be peaceful since women are not violent in nature,” said Reeler.

He went on to say that the number of people who are willing to protest is decreasing with each year as a demonstration is a sign of hostility in Zimbabwe.

“The right to demonstrate is viewed as being hostile to a certain extent, to be an activist is to be a victim of violence and torture and you take risks of being unlawfully harmed,” said Reeler.

The report recommended that the right to demonstrate and protest must be honoured as well as the right to assembly and association. It also recommended that ZRP should provide protection for citizens during and after protests.-TellZim

Zupco Intensifies Fight Against COVID-19

By A Correspondent| In line with government thrust to make sure that Covid 19 regulations and awareness campaigns are adhered to, the Zimbabwe United Passengers company, (ZUPCO) has embarked on a vigorous passenger safety programme by making sure all their buses are thoroughly disinfectant against the virulent Covid-19 and the safety of their passengers are ascertained.

With the recent purchase of new fleet of buses, ZUPCO has embarked on a successful resuscitation drive that has seen its once ailing depots come to life with every city enjoying new fleet of buses. The Government to date has acquired more than 500 buses, and it has been a blessing to passengers who had been reduced to boarding unreliable and unsafe combis before the second republic took over.

The ZUPCO’s sanitization of passengers and temperature checks has been in existence since June 2021 and saw each bus terminus across the country manned by sanitizing staff as well as well equipped decontamination fogging personnel. Each bus goes a through a rigorous decontamination exercise by using Sodium Hypochlorite which kills germs, bacteria and viruses 99.9%. All passengers are enforced to make sure they are well protected and fully masked up. The ZUPCO conductors make sure that every passenger adheres to the Covid-19 protocols which are, restricting overcrowded buses, ensuring that every passenger is sanitized, every passenger has had a temperature check, every passenger is wearing a mask correctly. These measures have contributed immensely to a reduction of Covid-19 figures and contributed a lot in making sure the spread of the deadly virus can be manageable.

The Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) has been in the forefront in making sure these safety programmes being undertaken by ZUPCO are and being implemented by the contracted companies.

VP sanitizing solutions, Pharmacure and Kusi chemicals are the three companies that are working with ZUPCO in making sure buses are disinfected throughout the country.

“We have made sure our personnel adhere to the Covid 19 protocols, firstly by making sure each and every bus from depot to terminus is correctly fumigated. Our mandate is to make sure the measures ZUPCO put in place are being followed through” said Mr Manuel Matsinye VP Sanitizing Solutions’ Operations Manager, one of the companies contracted to fumigate in Harare, Kwekwe and Mutare.

The ZUPCO Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Evaristo Madangwa reiterated that, the safety of their passengers was of utmost importance and such initiatives have seen every ZUPCO branded bus, combi, railway coach going through this rigorous fumigation exercise to echo our motto of “safety first to our passengers.”

“We have taken a conscious decision of ensuring that we reduce the spread of the virus by ensuring that all passengers are protected and this fumigation exercise shall be part of us until the virus is contained or a cure is found.
Our personnel goes through orientation and Covid-19 awareness workshops. Such programs have increased awareness amongst our personnel,” said Mr Everisto Madangwa, ZUPCO’s Acting Chief Executive Officer.

The ZUPCO Covid 19 disinfectant exercise is in all major cities around the country and Passengers have welcomed it as they feel safe boarding the buses.

We are very much pleased with the ZUPCO efforts as we feel safe and it shows how the company values its customers. I travel on zupco every day from mzilikazi to Bulawayo cbd where I work and everyday I see the fumigators at work” said a commuter Ms Mercy Ndlovu of Bulawayo.

Our news crew’s visit to Harare bus terminus namely Market Square, fourth street, Rezende, charge office, Mbare Musika, Copacabana, National Railways main station as well as Road port fourth street and High glen was testimony to what the ZUPCO Management is doing in making sure all its passengers safety comes first as fumigators were busy undertaking their mandate of disinfecting buses, doing temp checks and enforcing proper wearing of masks.

The exercise is visibly being undertaken in Bulawayo, Harare, Gweru, Masvingo, Kwekwe, chinhoyi, granda and Mutare among other cities ZUPCO presence is.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care is impressed by this ZUPCO fumigation programme and urges ZUPCO to continue to escalate the fight against the spread of Covid-19 virus.

Abandoned Makamba Endorses Kazembe, Dumped By Own Supporters

By A Correspondent- Businessman James Makamba, who was disqualified from running for the Zanu PF Mashonaland Central Provincial Chairman position in the Tuesday elections, has reportedly changed his mind and endorsed Kazembe Kazembe.

The Zanu PF Politburo threw out Makamba’s VC after the Party’s highest decision-making body raised security issues against the prominent businessman.

Makamba had entered the race with the incumbent, Kazembe Kazembe, who is also the Home Affairs Minister, and Tafadzwa Musarara, the Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe Boss.

Since the beginning of this year, Kazembe has been using the police to frustrate Makamba’s campaign meetings.

Zanu PF supporters in Mashonaland Central have castigated Makamba’s sudden Kazembe endorsement, whose support (Kazembe) base has dwindled because of failing several times to mobilise for President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the Province.

Members of Makamba’s campaign team told ZimEye.com that the whole Province was saying, “Makamba is a sellout.

“He is taking Mt Darwin for fools. He is not after resurrecting the Party. He is after money and preserving his wealth. We agreed when the Party threw out his CV that we should all rally behind Musarara because he has the potential of reviving and uniting the Province. Kazembe was the Chairman since the death of G-40, and he failed three times to mobilise for President when he wanted to hold rallies here. He is not people-oriented, and you can only see him when there are big events for the Party. That is not politics. We need a person who resonates with the grassroots, and those characteristics are in Musarara. We are saying the Mukanya ( Makamba) Matengesa,” said the members.

In an act of defiance, Makamba supporters have changed all their campaign platforms on social media to Mash Central yati Musarara as they endorsed Musarara.

They said they had given Makamba their support in confidence that Makamba would work to remove Kazembe, who has been described as a sore thumb in the Province.

The supporters said they had worked with Makamba to remove Kazembe, and he turned his back on them to go to the very person they wanted to be removed.

Insiders from Kazembe’s camp revealed that Kazembe and Makamba had developed a working relationship during Kazembe’s days as Information Communication and Technology Minister and Telecel had brought them together.

They said that besides politics, the two had and still have business deals together, which is why it was in Makamba’s best interests to support Kazembe.

” Double standards displayed by vaMakamba on the background of which he was not only the mastermind and kingpin of denouncing Kazembe but he has been a senior teacher not of peace but of hatred.
Julius Malema quote “Hetrage is taught, ibis not an inborn thing”.
You taught people to hate and rise against Kazembe Kazembe.
Ko nhai Mukanya makadii kuzodzoka kuvamakadzidzisa kuti muvadzidzise rudo especially to Kazembe.
Your last minute desperate move was ill-advised Dr Makamba for it proved that you are a manipulator of people.
Having supporters of followers who subscribe to your candidacy does not mean that you own people.Hakuna munhu wevanhu kanakuti vanhu vemunhu,” these are the messages posted by Makamba supporters on thier social media platforms.

Makamba, Kazembe and Musarara’s phones were not reachable for comment as they were said to be deep in the rural areas for their last-minute campaign rallies.

The Zanu PF PPC elections are due Tuesday. The polls are critical to the Party as they would produce Zanu PF’s kingmakers for the Party’s 2023 presidential candidate at an elective congress due December 2022.

Gvt Race To Achieve Herd Immunity Falls Behind Schedule

By A Correspondent- With barely three weeks before the curtain comes down on the year 2021, government race to achieve the intended herd immunity of vaccinating 60 percent of the total population falls behind schedule as only 39 percent of the population has received the jab.

A total number of 3 896 589 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Zimbabwe since the programme was rolled out which makes it 38.9 percent herd immunity.

Specialists in the field are reported to have had doubts on the target set by government as over ambitious and unrealistic saying the time stipulated was too little.

Vaccination programme began in February 2021 and it was the target of government to have vaccinated 10 million people of the total population of an estimated 16 million.

From the national daily Covid-19 statistics, the number of people getting vaccinated is tremendously going down even though the new Omicron Covid19 variant has hit the country.

There is apparent complacency on the side of ordinary people and government, which is failing to enforce the regulations worse still convening meetings to conduct party business.
Chief Coordinator for the National response to Covid-19 pandemic in the office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Agnes Mahomva said they continue lobbying for people to get vaccinated by acquiring more vaccines and encouraging people to get vaccinated.

“Our job is to continue pushing so that people get vaccinated and making sure that we access more vaccines.

“Our ambitious target remains and whether we get there or not is not a problem, we continue encouraging people to get vaccinated. We acquired more vaccines recently that we expect to receive this Friday (December 10),” said Dr Mahomva.

She went on to dismiss questions to whether they will reach the target by saying that she is not eligible to talk about it but has to wait for the end result.

“Now it is not the right time for us to conclude whether we will reach herd immunity or not for we are still working and hoping that we will make it,” said Dr Mahomva.

Masvingo Provincial Medical Director (PMD) Dr Amadeus Shamhu said they continue to vaccinate people in the province but however they are having low turnouts.

“We want people to get vaccinated and continue vaccinating those who show up for vaccination but they are showing up in few numbers which is delaying us from reaching community herd immunity,” said Dr Shamhu.

Masvingo Covid-19 Taskforce spokesperson Rogers Irimayi said they are increasing awareness campaigns with the support of partners and that people are still getting vaccinated but the numbers have dropped, though there is a slight increase maybe because of the new variant.

“As taskforce we are intensifying awareness campaign programmes, our partners are supporting in terms of resources to ensure we reach out to the generality of our communities.

“People are still getting vaccinated although the numbers had fallen down in the previous months but an upsurge is being experienced maybe because of the Omicron variant,” said Irimayi.

He said they continue encourage people to observe World Health Organisation (WHO) measures against Covid-19 and encourage people to get vaccinated so as to curb the spread of the virus.

“We encourage people to be very cautious and follow the WHO and government Covid-19 guidelines of masking up, hand sanitizing and maintaining social distancing. However, vaccination is the best option in protecting ourselves and our loved ones,” said Irimayi.

Sometime at the end of November, community herd immunity for Masvingo province stood at 34.8 percent which has been subject to change obviously since some people are getting vaccinated.

“Zimbabwe’s One Party Dictatorship Has Benefitted A Few Elite”

By Wilbert Mukori- “It is beyond any iota of doubt in Zimbabwe that the institution of the military plays a decisive factor in the politics of the country,” reported The Independent.

“Numerous “clever” politicians have attempted to suggest and insinuate about something they call “security sector reform” or “reform of the military” yet history is laden with case innuendoes of where the military in Zimbabwe has decided the trajectory of politics, to a point of reforming the behaviour of political actors.

“It is foolhardy for one to resist to note this overt truth, a truth that is so “loud to see” and “big to hear”, if ever English words can be played around in such a fashion, just to prove how this institution plays a central role in the politics of the country.”

These sweeping statements founded on conjecture and ignorance and not on fact and reality.

There is nothing to suggest Zimbabwe’s security services; the Police, Army, CIO and Prison Services; were doomed to be the corrupt and partisan institution they are today. If it was not for the corrupting influence of Zanu PF they would be carrying out their duties and Zimbabwe would be a healthy and functioning democratic country.

Robert Mugabe did not have a single drop of democratic blood in his veins; he was a control freak tyrant who wanted absolute power and was pretty ruthless in insuring he got what he wanted. He surrounded himself with dimwits like the late Simon Muzenda, Joice Mujuru and Emmerson Mnangagwa. Mugabe’s regime was a Sultan’s harem full of subservient eunuchs and wives.

“Mose murivakadzi vaMugabe!” (You are all Mugabe’s harem wives!) Ms Margaret Dongo reprimanded her fellow Zanu PF Ministers, MPs, etc. in sheer exasperation at their failure to stand-up to Mugabe even when the situation demanded it, such as the 1983 to 1987 Gukurahundi massacre. Of course, she was right and, more significantly, her fellow Zanu PF leaders themselves and the nation at large knew she had hit the nail on the head!

It comes as no surprise that the same tyrannical and control freak, Robert Mugabe, would have stopped at nothing to groom and mould the country’s security services to serve his one-party state agenda at the expense of the nation’s democratic agenda. If Mugabe had brow beaten his fellow political leaders into submission; what more the Police Officers and the soldiers, obliged to take his commands as their Commander-In-Chief, no questions asked!

“The Zvinavashe Doctrine, pronounced in early 2000 (which begins with words, “We want to make it abundantly clear that the military will not salute anyone without liberation credentials”) shows a decisive inclination in values and prove the unbridled fact that the military in Zimbabwe at least thus far, is, and remains, the single most important institution insofar as the statecraft of the country is concerned,” argued The Independent.

The Independent is referring to the then Zimbabwe Defence Forces chief Vitalis Zvinavashe’s threat the Army will not salute Morgan Tsvangirai if won the elections. The threat was repeated that year and on several other occasions since by many senior officers in the Army, Police, etc.

History will show that by 2000 the top brass in the country’s security services were already brainwashed into believing the de facto one-party state, formally adopted by the signing of the 1987 Unity Accord between PF Zapu and Zanu PF, saved the country’s best interests. The multi-party democracy, symbolised by the emergence and election of the opposition parties, was not in the nation’s interest.

If the Zanu PF government and Commander-In-Chief, Robert Mugabe, had not encouraged the treasonous Zvinavashe doctrine; the regime’s failure to condemn it spoke volumes on the matter.

Robert Mugabe founded the Joint Operation Command (JOC) comprising the top brass in the four security branches plus a few select individuals from Zanu PF headed by Mugabe himself with Emmerson Mnangagwa as his assistant. The primary purpose of JOC was to help Mugabe impose the de facto one-party dictatorship.

When Mugabe and Zanu PF were routed in the March 2008 vote; Mnangagwa and JOC stopped ZEC declaring the results. The Junta spend the next six weeks recounting 5 million votes, whittling down Tsvangirai’s 73% votes, according to Mugabe’s Freudian slip, to 47% – enough to force the run-off. The Junta came to its own in implementing the military style Operation “Mavhotera ani?” (Whom did you vote for?)

The Junta punished the voters for rejecting Zanu PF and Mugabe in the March vote; hundreds of thousands were harassed, beaten and/or raped and millions were internally displaced using the war veterans and Zanu PF militia. The heavy-duty stuff of abducting a murdering people was carried out by personal from the Army, Police, CIO and Prison Services. Over 500 innocent people were murdered in cold blood in that operation.

Until 2008, the security services’ involvement in the rigging of elections and other political activities had been confined to the Zvinavashe doctrine and other clandestine work. All caution was thrown to the wind during Operation Mavhotera ani marking the 2008 as a watershed election. The top brass in the Army, Police, CIO and Prison Services must have known their active involvement in Operation Mavhotera ani, was a point of no return. They had lost all pretences of being independent, apolitical and committed to multi-party democratic values.

It was in the post 2008 election era that the security services branches’ involvement in diamond mining and other looting activities increased significantly. Mugabe was no doubt rewarding his JOC junta partners for helping him and Zanu PF stay in power and increasing their stake in the dictatorship.

When the Junta carried out the political coup in 2008 to wrestle power from MDC, Operation Mavhotera ani was a political coup, none of them ever imagined that SADC and AU would refuse to recognise Zanu PF as the legitimate government, punishment for the blatant cheating and wanton violence. Mugabe was forced to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA), agreeing to the implementation of the raft of democratic reforms designed to dismantle the dictatorship.

Fortunately for Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends, who were tasked to implement the reforms turned out to be corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. They failed to implement even one reform in five years of the GNU. Not even one!

Zanu PF emerged from the GNU with all its dictatorial powers untouched include the party’s undemocratic control over the Army, Police, etc. and the carte blanche powers to rig elections. The party realised that it would avoid the punishment for rigging the elections as long as the opposition participated in the elections. The party has since given away a few gravy-train seats to entice the opposition to participate.

By participating in the flawed elections opposition are giving vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

“It is beyond any iota of doubt in Zimbabwe that the institution of the military plays a decisive factor in the politics of the country.”

This is not one iota of evidence to show the military, or any of the other three security services branches, have played any role in MDC’s failure to implement reforms during the GNU and/or MDC’s stubborn insistence in participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Not one iota!

The November 2017 military coup should not be taken as proof of the military influence in Zimbabwe politics because the coup would have never happened if the G40 faction had not made it clear it would ouster the liberation war generation. The overwhelming majority in JOC were liberation war generation and it is no wonder the coup was code-named “Operation Restore Legacy!”

The November 2017 coup was reportedly to “remove criminals around the President” responsible for the economic meltdown, announced the coup spokesperson; proof the coup plotters are aware the army are not the only players in Zimbabwe politics. Indeed, there is increasing talk of yet another coup and/or street protests to force change because the November 2017 coup has failed to deliver hoped for economic recovery.

Zimbabwe’s de facto one party dictatorship has benefited the few ruling elite at the expense of the overwhelming majority forced to live in abject poverty. The system is economically, socially, morally and politically unsustainable. The country needs meaningful political change.

One way sure way to delivery orderly political change is implementing the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA. The Army did not resist the implementation of the reforms back then and there is nothing to suggest it will do so now!

Don’t Re-ignite gukurahundi’, Mnangagwa Threatens Matabeles With Second Genocide

By Israel Dube- As we give space to our traditional leaders to lead processes of reconciliation and repair, we should guard against those negative elements which aim to re-ignite frozen differences to throw us back into renewed conflict.

As always there are sinister forces which seek to profit from a divided and divisive past. They must not succeed”, said genocidal President of Zimbabwe in a little veiled threat to commit second Matabele genocide.

Matabeleland Liberation Organisation which is the last line of defence for the vulnerable masses of Matabele people does not take kindly or lightly such threats especially if said by a well known genocidist whose hands are dripping and body smelling of innocent Matabele blood.

This shows that Zimbabwe is a very dangerous space to live in for the people of Matabeleland. Demanding the restoration of Matabeleland state and compensation of US$100 billion for Matabeleland genocide cannot be viewed as re-ignition of Matabeleland genocide except in the minds of mass tribal slaughters.

They have gone unpunished for committing genocide in Matabeleland and have seen that as a way of cheering them on to go ahead and murder more innocent Matabele civilians.
We will not shack with fear as a result of Mnangagwa’s genocide threat but we will shake Zimbabwe by defending ourselves with our own blood.

Thanks to Mnangagwa and other Shona supremacists who made it a point soon after taking power in 1980 that Matabele people were unwanted cockroaches that needed to be wiped out and Shonas are owners of Zimbabwe that should tribally dominate Matabeles. The very Zimbabwe is divided and disintegrating into two states under their watch.

On one hand Shona supremacists and their Shona supporters want to maintain the status quo. That is, they want fake the unitary state to remain so that they continue oppressing, abusing and slaughtering Matabele.

On the other hand Matabele are demanding the restoration of Matabeleland state so that they practice their God given right of self determination and enjoy freedom that comes with it.

Which chiefs must we give space to lead processes of reconciliation? Is it the sorry group led by Chief Fortune Charumbira of Mashonaland who recently confessed in a Zanupf conference that they (Zimbabwe Traditional Chiefs) are owners of Zanupf? Only fools will waste their time listening to Zanupf agents masquerading as traditional chiefs. Matabeles are not so gullible to be deceived by idiotic acts of conered genocide perpetrators who are so scared to face music for slaughtering innocent Matabeles.

The President of Zimbabwe is not even ashamed to refer to such clear acts of genocide as a ‘conflict’. So the government of Zimbabwe was at war with innocent Matabele civilians that included defenceless women, old people, children, born and unborn?

What a shame!

A genocide perpetrator like Mnangagwa cannot teach the victims how to mourn their beloved ones, force them to heal, forgive and forget. He and his fellow Shona supremacists enablers and supporters must know that whatever they say about Matabele genocide annoys the people of Matabeleland big time.

We know that, out of tribal hate, the Shona supremacists that included late President Mugabe, Mnangagwa, Joice Mujuru and many others went around the world in search of the country that uses the most cruel means of killing its own citizens.

They found it in the form of North Korea where an official is executed publicly using an anti- aircraft gun for merely falling asleep in a rally attended by the head of state. Parents and relatives of the poor victim are then forced to sit in the front row to watch the gruesome murder of their loved one.

Mnangagwa and fellow Shona supremacists fell in love with this kind of brutality and immediately imported it into Zimbabwe as best means to annihilate Matabele nation. Military instructors from North Korea were hired by the government of Zimbabwe to impart their brutal tactics to the Zimbabwe National Army 5th Brigade that was deployed into Matabeleland without delay.

Stomach turning acts of brutality were soon reported in Matabeleland. Lactating mothers still weak after giving birth were forced to crush to death their new born babies  using maize pounders. Pregnant women had their stomachs ripped apart with knives while alive “to see the dissident inside” . Some women had their private parts burned with plastic in the presents of their relatives, husbands and children.

This way, more than 40 000 innocent Matabele civilians lost their lives in the only genocide committed by blacks against blacks in Southern Africa. More than 100 000 Matabele women including children were raped, more than 100 000 Matabele homes were burnt down, more than 300 000 Matabeles were maimed. More than 1 million Matabeles were displaced into neighbouring countries like South Africa and Botswana. We will never forget and we will never be forced to forgive!

If you thought that the genocide has stopped think again! It continues in the not so covert ways. More than 4 million Matabeles that remain in Zimbabwe suffer tribal marginalization in terms of development, politics, economics, higher education, in the labour market and socially. The aim is still the same, to destroy Matabele nation and prepare them as heard boys, garden boys and maids for Shona people.

All genocidairs are cowards. Around this time a long time ago in Judea, one scared genocidist, King Herod, was plotting to massacre all infants born in Bethlehem in an attempt to murder baby Jesus whom he was  afraid of.

In December of 2021 another mass murderer in Harare, Emmerson Mnangagwa, scared to face justice for committing genocide in Matabeleland, scared of unrelenting calls for the restoration of Matabeleland state, scared of the powerful Matabele nation,  scared of infants and even unborn Matabele child, is threatening second genocide to annihilate Matabele nation.

This calls for Matabeles to stand up unite and defend themselves. Never again shall Matabeles suffer genocide at the hands of Shona supremacists! We shall defend ourselves until the last drop of our blood.

The only acceptable solution from  Zimbabwe government is Matabeleland restoration and US$100 billion as compensation for Matabeleland genocide.

ED Salutes Sirizani Butau

By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa  saluted the  hero and sacrifice by Sirizani Butau who saved the lives of eight people to escape from a death trap after head on collision of Beta Bus Coach and a tanker.

The accident occurred 242km along Harare-Mutare when the bus driver avoided hitting a drunked destitute and encroached into the oncoming lane where he collided with a fuel tanker.

Mnangagwa applauded Butau’s heroism   during the National Thanksgiving and Dedication Service at the Zimbabwe international Trade Fair grounds this Sunday morning. In his speech the President said

“Let me take this opportunity to appreciate Sirizani Butau who saved people from the Mutare Accident . As government we will honour him for his selfless sacrifice.”

Butau is man who sacrificed his life to save 8 people who were trapped at the Horrific accident which happened 20 kilometres before Mutare  from Harare.

The death toll  is now  five, and many of the casualties are currently admitted at Mutare General hospital.

The Hero Butau was not in Beta bus or in the haulage truck which collided but he was driving another truck when he identified one of the vehicles which had been involved in the Horrific crash.

Two Soldiers Nabbed Over Hatfield Murder

handcuffs

By A Correspondent- Police in Harare on Sunday night arrested two soldiers in connection with an armed robbery and murder that occurred in Hatfield suburb on 24 December.

The soldiers have been identified as Lameck Kabara from the Zimbabwe National Defence College and Christopher Charuma, who is with the Air Force of Zimbabwe based at Manyame airbase. They are due to appear in court on Tuesday.

Police are also holding a third suspect, Perseverence Chihota, a civilian.

The suspects took away US$40 000 from the Hatfield house and also shot dead Elvis Chijaka and wounded Brian Chijaka.

According to the Police, Chijaka was shot dead while responding to a call for help by his sister who had been attacked by the suspects who were wearing balaclavas and armed with an AK47 rifle at their gate.

Brian is being treated for his wounds at a Harare hospital.

The robbers drove off in a white Mercedes Benz Compressor C200 registration number AEW 7940 after ransacking the house and stealing US$40 000 cash and two iPhone cellphones.

Police recovered 16 spent cartridges, one live round for a suspected AK47 rifle and 2×7,65 mm spent cartridges on the scene.

Hatfield is not far from Chadcombe, where Joseph Nemaisa, a retired police detective shot and killed three armed robbers, among them two soldiers, at his house earlier this month.

The armed robbers, who also wore balaclavas, barged into Nemaisa’s house and held his family hostage, demanding cash. He shot three dead through a window, while two that escaped were later arrested.

AFCON: Warriors Set To Leave Harare On January 29

Four players in the Warriors squad for Afcon could be forced to stay at their respective clubs at least after the New Year games following the latest ruling by CAF.

The decision comes after CAF held talks with FIFA.

The world football body football has now confirmed the date for the release of players has been changed from 27 December to 3 January, less than a week before the start of the nations cup in Cameroon.

The directive comes after the World Football Leagues Forum decided against the release of players on the 27 December date.

The most affected players in the Warriors squad are the UK-based stars, who include Jordan Zemura, David Moyo and Admiral Muskwe.

Zemura’s Bournemouth has a game on 3 January, meaning he will only be able to fly to join the rest of the squad in Cameroon after the match.

Moyo’s Hamilton side in the Scottish Championship has a game on 2 January, while Muskwe will be in action with Luton the day before.

This rules the trio out of the national team’s planned friendlies on 2 and 4 January.

Captain Knowledge Musona will also be affected, but he will be available earlier than his Warriors teammates based in the UK.

The forward’s Saudi side, Al Taai, will be in action on 31 December.

Meanwhile, the rest of the squad is expected to leave Zimbabwe on the 29th and arrive in Cameroon on the following day.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

State Prosecutor Under Fire For Swearing Affidavit On Behalf Of State

By A Correspondent| A state prosecutor Tafara Charambira has come under fire for swearing in an affidavit on behalf of the state without written consent from the Prosecutor General Mr Kumbirai Hodzi.

Charambira filed an affidavit opposing a High Court application by Harare businessman George Katsimberis seeking a review of a ruling by Harare Magistrate Letwin Rwodzi dismissing his bid to have his ‘fraud’ case referred to the Constitutional Court.

Katsimberis is involved in a long standing court battle with controversial land developer Kenneth Raydon Sharpe over a botched joint venture agreement for the construction of cluster houses at the corner of Whitwell and Teviotdale road.

In his answering affidavit to his High Court application for review of Rwodzi’s ruling, Katsimberis said Charambira’s move to swear an affidavit on behalf of the state was wrong as he did not attach authority from the Prosecutor General Mr Hodzi.

“I object to Tafara Charambira making an affidavit on behalf of the state. The head of state is the head of the National Prosecuting Authority. Therefore only Mr Kumbirai Hodzi can swear in this affidavit. In the circumstances where he cannot swear for whatever reason, then the opposing affidavit filed by the state must indicate the authority from Mr Hodzi and why he is unable to make and swore an affidavit for and on behalf of the state,” said Katsimberis.

A legal expert who spoke on condition of anonymity said a state prosecutor cannot swear an affidavit on behalf of the state without written consent from the Prosecutor General.

“It smells a rat when something like that happens, the Prosecutor General is the state in legal matters, though he can delegate his responsibilities to other prosecutors because he cannot be everywhere, there are certain functions he cannot delegate without justification,” said the legal expert.

Katsimberis has also accused Charambira of bias saying his sworn affidavit lacks neutrality expected of his office.

Besides the tone of the affidavit is not neutral. Firstly Mr Tafara Charambira has no knowledge of the facts and of the dispute between myself, Michael Van Blerk, Pokugara and Kenneth Raydon Sharpe. Yet he swears this affidavit as if he is aware of the facts and is in fact an official of Pokugara Properties,” said Katsimberis.

He dismissed state prosecutors handling his case as hired guns for Pokugara Properties.

The prosecutors (particularly Michael Reza) are in fact hired guns for Tatiana Aleshina, Kenneth Raydon Sharpe, Augur Investments OU and Pokugara Properties. They have in fact been captured by the same. They have lost all kinds of neutrality and objectivity,” added Katsimberis.

Emmerson Mnangagwa Must Pull Leaf From Butau Heroics

Only if @edmnangagwa was like Butau, the Beta Bus accident hero, Zimbabwe would have been better. ED must copy one or two things on what it means to save and serve people from Butau. Police Ban All Night Prayer Meetings

Police have announced that churches and other religious organisations’ traditional night vigils and crossover services have been banned.

Zimbabwe is under Level Two lockdown and the Government has revised curfew hours, which are now between 9pm and 6am.

Some churches have been advertising all-night prayer meetings, cross-over sermons and other activities to usher in 2022.

The police said such gatherings will be a violation of the curfew hours.National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said police will arrest those who violate the law.

“People know that we have a curfew running from 9pm to 6am which means no gathering is allowed after 9pm. Police will therefore enforce the curfew order and anyone who violates it risks being arrested. There are no all-night prayers, all-night gatherings, crossover sermons that will be allowed this year,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.

He said churches are expected to lead by example and as such are not expected to violate curfew hours.

“Churches should also take Covid-19 preventive measures such as sanitisation when people enter the church, wearing of face masks and social distancing. Churches mustn’t disregard these safety regulations,” said Asst Comm Nyathi.

He said as people celebrate during the festive season, they should not throw caution to the wind.

“People mustn’t get over excited and the WHO has made it clear that they should not engage in activities that are super-spreaders of the pandemic. They must limit their travels and stay at home,” said Asst Comm Nyathi.

Last week, more than 100 people were arrested for violating Covid-19 protocols by mainly drinking at bars and shebeens in violation of the curfew hours.

Jabulani Sibanda Back In Zanu PF

By A Correspondent- Former War veterans leader Jabulani Sibanda has rejoined Zanu PF and wants to take over the party’s Bulawayo Chairmanship.

Sibanda hinted in his campaign message that he wanted to restructure the party and flush out what he called criminal elements that were hiding in the party if elected in the Tuesday PCC elections.

Nick Mangwana, the government spokesperson, confirmed his return to active politics last week.

“I hear JB (Cde Jabulani Sibanda) is back in active politics. Politics in Zimbabwe is only gonna get more interesting and even exciting,” posted Mangwana on his Twitter account.

Army Plays Decisive Role In Politics- Zanu PF Fuelled Conjecture Without One Iota Of Evidence

Armed Robbers Pounce On Mukuru Outlet Again

By A Correspondent- Armed robbers pounced at a Mukuru money transfer agent Chegutu branch housed at Zapalala Wholesale yesterday and made off with at least US$17 000.

Acting provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera confirmed the incident but referred questions to national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who is yet to give the details.

Witnesses said the robbers attacked the money outlet on Friday morning.

The unidentified men forced workers to lie on the ground after firing two shots in the air before vanishing in a getaway car.

ED, Deputy Were Not There When The Patriotic Front Was Formed

The People of Zimbabwe were united under the Zimbabwe African People’s Union (Z.A.P.U).

When Z.A.P.U. was banned, the party leadership decided that it will not form another political party, again, because the Rhodesian Government will ban that party,  confiscate its property, and have the political leadership arrested. Instead Z.A.P.U. operated under a People’s Caretaker Council (P.C.C.).

Before Z.A.P.U. was banned, the party had undertaken a programme to raise an army to wage a military armed struggle as it had become very obvious and clear that there was no other way to realise majority rule in Zimbabwe.

Z.A.P.U had sent its cadres, to Ghana, Egypt, North Korea, and to the People’s Republic of China for military training.

However, some members of the National Executive Committee of Z.A.P.U. led by Ndabaningi Sithole, who was the National Chairman of Z.A.P.U. with other members, including Robert Mugabe, Enos Nkala, Henry Hamadziripi, and others broke away, on 08 August 1963, and formed the Zimbabwe African National Union, (Z.A.N.U.) sighting lack of a will to fight by Z.A.P.U. and yet Z.A.P.U had started a military training programme.

Both Z.A.P.U. and Z.A.N.U, established external wings separately in Zambia, to direct the armed struggle.

Z.A.P.U. belonged to the six authentic liberation movements that were recognised by the Organisation Of African Unity (OAU) including the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa; FRELIMO of Mozambique; SWAPO of Namibia; MPLA of Angola; and PAIGC of Cape Verde.

But ZANU and others such as the PAC were not recognised by the OAU but were supported by President Julius Nyerere of Tanzania.

Mr James Chikerema who was Vice-President of Z.A.P.U and the leader of the external wing of ZAPU, together, with some of the members of the party decided to form, The Front For The Liberation Of Zimbabwe (FROLIZ). The main reason behind the formation of FROLIZ by James Chikerema, was a reaction to the unity between ZAPU and the ANC, leading to a joint combat operation in Wankie followed by the Sipolilo operations.

James Chikerema saw that as a tribal reunion of the Ndebele people with what he termed as their South African kith and kins. I was the Camp Commander at the Dan Nang Base where the Luthuli Detachment was training. As a result of that attitude, James Chikerema never set his foot to visit Dan Nang Camp. Because of his attitude towards the ZAPU/ANC alliance, Jason Moyo or Akim Ndlovu could not come. Only Oliver Tambo was a constant visitor to Dan Nang.

James Chikerema even designed a slogan “WE CAN ALSO FIGHT”. In the meanwhile, ZANU accused ZAPU and said that Zimbabwe has a population of 4 million people. Therefore, there was no need to use South African mercenaries in the war in Zimbabwe.

However, in the long run, the formation of FROLIZ and teaming up with UANC of Abel Muzorewa, posed a very serious threat to both ZAPU and ZANU, when moderate member States of the OAU at the Benghazi Libya Summit demanded that they no longer recognise ZAPU and ZANU, and instead recognise Muzorewa and James Chikerema, accusing the two of lack of progress.

Realising, this threat, and also with the advice from well-wishers, including Zambia and Tanzania, ZAPU and ZANU, decided to form the Joint Military Command (JMC) in Mbeya, Tanzania.

Fundamental principles were laid down to be followed as the parties had their Constitutions and their Mandate from their supporters. It was emphasised that this was a programme of unity, not a programme to swallow one another. To guard against swallowing each other, it was agreed that if the Chairman comes from ZAPU or ZANU, the Commander of the JMC will come from the party of the Deputy Chairman.

In this case, Herbert Chitepo became Chairman, and Nikita Mangena became Chief of Staff of the JMC.

It was also agreed as a principle that if a head of a department is from ZPRA, his deputy should come from ZANLA and vice versa.

Finally, the layout was:

-Herbert Chitepo; ZANU Chairman

-Jason Moyo; ZAPU Deputy Chairman

-Nikita Mangena; ZPRA Chief of Staff

– Josiah Tongogara; ZANLA Chief of Operations

-Sotsha Ngwenya (JD) ZPRA Deputy

-Robson Manyika; ZANLA Political Commissar

-Lookout Masuku ZPRA Deputy

-John Mataure ZANLA Chief of Personnel and Training

-Cephas Cele ZPRA Deputy

-Gordon Munyanyi; ZPRA Chief of Military Intelligence

-Webstar Gwauya ZANLA Deputy

-Phelekezela Mphoko ZPRA Chief of Logistics and Supplies

-William Ndangana  ZANLA Deputy.

This principle was followed when the Zimbabwe People’s Army (ZIPA) was formed in September 1975, in Mozambique, with a layout of;

-Solomon Mujuru; ZANLA Commander

-Sotsha Ngwenya ZPRA Deputy

-Nikita Mangena ZPRA Political Commissar

-Dzinashe Mashingura ZANLA Deputy

-Ambrose Mutinhiri ZPRA Chief of Presonnel and Training

-Parker Chipowere ZANLA Deputy

-Gordon Munyanyi ZPRA Chief of Military Intelligence

-James Nyikadzino ZANLA  Deputy

-Ella’s Hondo ZANLA Chief of Operations

-Jevan Maseko ZPRA Deputy

-Phelekezela Mphoko ZPRA Chief of Logistics and Supplies

-Edmond Kaguri ZANLA Deputy.

This is the same principle that was followed when the Patriotic Front of Zimbabwe was formed in 1976 in Mozambique. The emphasis was mainly to the co-leaders of the Patriotic Front, Dr Joshua Nkomo and Robert Mugabe that they should rotate the chairmanship of the Patriotic Front meetings. If there are delegations for other meetings, equal members from both ZAPU and ZANU should attend.

The Constitution of Zimbabwe, states very clearly that ZAPU and ZANU liberated Zimbabwe. Comrades Joshua Nkomo brought ZAPU and led his supporters into the Unity and Robert Mugabe respectively brought ZANU and led his supporters into the Unity. Not that only ZANU brought its supporters, into the Unity as suggested by the prevailing situation.

There is no one at the moment in Cabinet or Politburo who was present at the formation of the JMC in Mbeya, as those revolutionary principles were laid down. There is no one in Cabinet or Politburo who was present when ZIPA, the second Military Unity between ZPRA and ZANLA, was formed in 1975, and there is no one in Cabinet or Politburo who was present at the formation of the Patriotic Front in 1976.

It is a fact that ZANU did not unite with itself but with ZAPU. The 22 December 1987 Unity Accord between ZAPU and ZANU was signed for a different purpose related to post Independence killings. The Unity Between ZAPU and ZANU was achieved long back when the Patriotic Front was formed in 1976.  All negotiations were done collectively as a United Patriotic Front of Zimbabwe. Since its formation, the Patriotic Front of Zimbabwe united the people of Zimbabwe. However, that Unity was destroyed when the co-leader Robert Mugabe, pulled out of the Unity citing that he had been accused by people like Muzorewa, Matimba and others for giving the leadership of the people of Zimbabwe to the Ndebeles.

However, his statement and position were welcomed by President Samora Machel and Julius Nyerere.

The meeting was attended by Presidents: Samora Machel (the host) Julius Nyerere, Kenneth Kaunda, Edwardo Dos Santos, and Queti Masire in Beira Mozambique. Mugabe informed that he was going to campaign as ZANU and not as the Patriotic Front of Zimbabwe.

This was the first and last meeting of the Frontline Heads of States on Zimbabwe, after the Lancaster House peace talks and just before elections leading to Independence. This was also the first meeting to be attended by President Edwardo dos Santos of Angola after the death of Agostinho Neto.

The Patriotic Front was represented by the co-leader Robert Mugabe, Simon Muzenda, Edgar Tekere, and Phelekezela Mphoko.

Those, living today who are in the leadership of the United Party of the Patriotic Front, have a duty to uphold the revolutionary principles adopted by those who have departed. That is the only honour they could be accorded with. At least to respect their principles.  The current position prevailing suggests that their approach to the armed struggle and the unity of the people of Zimbabwe was wrong.

Rwanda, Zim Sign Teacher Recruitment MoU

By A Correspondent- Rwanda and Zimbabwe signed a memorandum of understanding that paves the way for Kigali to recruit teachers from the southern African country.

The MOU signed by Zimbabwe’s Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister Paul Mavima and his Rwandan Education minister Valentine Uwamariya in Harare Thursday came months after Rwanda President Paul Kagame said his country needed to urgently recruit teachers from Zimbabwe to boost its education system.

Mavima said the agreement will protect the teachers against unethical recruitment practices.

“The signing of the MoU indeed enables both our countries to protect our citizens from the dangers of unethical and unfair recruitment practices, which nowadays characterise the recruitment of human capital across borders and foreign labour markets,” he said.

“This partnership creates an avenue for both Zimbabwe and Rwanda to play a significant role in advancing the ideals of our continent as encapsulated in the continental development frameworks given the fact that human capital development is critical to delivering on both the Agenda 263 vision and the aspirations of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.”

The minister said the MoU had principles that promoted “decent work principles across the whole process of exchange of personnel and expertise, including critical issues in labour migration such as non-discrimination and portability of social security benefits.”

ED Hauled To Court Over Chinamasa Appointment

The MDC Alliance Slogan For 2018 Was A Disaster

You can read through all the available Zimbabwe 2018 elections reports, none has ever attributed Zanu PF’s landslide victory to slogan. NewsDay, is claiming MDC A’s new slogan for the 2023 elections is a game-changer guaranteed to deliver electoral victory for Chamisa!

“I have always argued that in all its failures, Zanu-PF is excellent when it comes to creating jingles, slogans and songs for elections. It knows how to connect with people using jingles, songs and dance,” wrote NewsDay.

“The slogan #GodIsInIt as a campaign slogan in 2018 was no match of the largely infectious and well-thought-out #EDPfee.”

If this was written as a piece of satirical humour; it turned out a satanical piece. It is hard to find humour in Zimbabwe’s repeated failure to hold free, fair and credible elections given the tragic human sufferings and deaths the failure has brought. Especially when the piece was heaping praise on MDC A’s slogan for the 2023 elections!

“Those who may not be aware of this slogan, must be living under a rock somewhere out of Earth. Well, the phrase is “Ngaapinde Hake Mukomana” (NHM) (let the boy enter), a slogan recently introduced by the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa,” argued NewsDay.

”It has brought renewed hope, optimism to Zimbabweans across the political divide. As Steve Biko would say: “People must not give in to hardships of life, people must develop hope”.

“I have had discussions with people across the political divide about slogans. The MDC Alliance supporters may not be ready to admit that their campaign slogan for 2018 was a disaster; more so that it was in English. That did not make the slogan any better. Politics is a game of understanding your audience. MDC Alliance failed to understand its audience.”

Very few people familiar with Zimbabwe party politics will doubt that the ordinary Zimbabweans are a naïve and gullible lot easily moved by empty rhetoric and meaningless slogans. Party meeting much more so rallies are about empty rhetoric and meaningless slogans; nothing of substance is ever discussed. Nothing!

This is why most MDC members, both senior leaders and much worse the wildebeest herd, cannot name even democratic change they want, for example; and yet they consider themselves champions of democratic changes.

It is no surprise that MDC leaders failed to implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when the nation had its best opportunity ever to implement reforms. How can they implement something they do not know!

The MDC herd, for their part, have remained as faithful to the party leaders as a dog; they are suffering the consequences of the failure to implement the reform in that we are still stuck with the corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF. The herd do not blame MDC leaders for the betrayal because they don’t know, even to this day, what the reforms are much less the dire consequences of failing to implement them.

Still, it is utter nonsense and insulting to even suggest the people of Zimbabwe ignored the economic reality of the total economic meltdown and voted for Zanu PF because they were mesmerised by “the infectious and well-thought-out #EDPfee” slogan. The people are naïve and gullible and ignorant but they are not stupid – at least, not that stupid not to have realised by now that Zanu PF leaders are corrupt, incompetent and the murderous tyrants who have landed the nation in this economic and political mess.

The people of Zimbabwe would have voted Zanu PF out of office decades ago; they have not done so because the party rigged elections, denying the people a meaningful free, fair and credible vote. The people have risked life and limb to elect MDC leaders on the understanding the party would bring about the democratic changes that will stop Zanu PF rigging elections. These people will have understood what these changes are, was it for the country’s asinine political system stuck in empty rhetoric and meaningless slogans.

If Zimbabwe was implemented the democratic reforms and thus transform the asinine political system into a robust free and dynamic political system, the country will have an informed and diligent electorate. The people will know Chamisa and company failed to implement even one reform in 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU. They would never ever vote for such a bunch of sell-outs. Never!

With not even a token reform implemented since the 2018 rigged elections; it is obvious history will repeat itself, Zanu PF will blatantly rig the 2023 elections. To get legitimacy, Zanu PF needs the MDC A and the rest in the opposition camp to participate in the 2023 elections.

Nelson Chamisa and company know Zanu PF is rigging the elections and claimed to have all manner of “winning in rigged elections strategies”. In the 2018 elections Chamisa said “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging elections!” Of course, he was lying. The Zanu PF vote rigging juggernaut was not going to be stopped by a few twigs barring its way.

Fast forward to the morning after Voting Day; ZEC results will show the usual Zanu PF landslide victory. Chamisa and company will be complaining that Zanu PF rigged the elections; the very thing they are claiming to have strategies in place to stop.

As for the “Ngaapinde Hake Mukomana (NHM)!” slogan the results will prove it was just another meaningless slogan. NewsDay will conveniently forgot they ever promoted it as the game-changer!

Of course, it is insane for anyone to participate in these 2023 elections on the basis the meaningless slogan will stop the Zanu PF vote rigging juggernaut. Participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy for the umpteenth time and thus frustrating initiatives to implement reforms and end the curse of rigged elections.

Trio Suffer Swollen Stomachs After Consuming Ant-Bear Meat

ant beqr

By A Correspondent- Three Bulawayo men, who voraciously feasted on the meat of an ant-bear locally known as isambane, which was killed after it was found in Old Magwegwe near Engen Filling Station on Tuesday last week, have reportedly suffered swollen stomachs.

B-Metro reports that the three men, whose names could not be immediately established, were also reported to have complained of nausea and giddiness.

Nausea is an uneasiness of the stomach that often comes before vomiting while giddiness is the feeling of being unbalanced and lightheaded.

Isambane is usually associated with witchcraft and this raises the question of how safe it is to eat meat from an animal which is also regarded as a means of transport by witches on their night errands.

After the animal was spotted near the filling station workers reportedly dug a pit and buried it much to the agitation of many residents who reportedly wanted the animal to be burnt.

To the surprise of many two men who could not be immediately identified took it upon themselves to dig out the buried animal before inviting their friends for a braai.

B-Metro further reports that when the two were digging out the animal, residents had arguments on whether isambane was a delicacy with some saying only its forelegs were good especially when roasted. Said the source:

The three men who fell sick were among a group of men from the suburb (Old Magwegwe) who feasted on the meat from the dead wild animal (isambane). While feasting on the roasted meat they were saying it was very tender and juicy and they were also posing for photos with it (roasted meat).

According to the source, when the men became very ill, they reportedly were taken to a sangoma in Makokoba suburb where they received help.

Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers’ Association (Zinatha) national secretary for administration Musa Chinhunga said although the wild animal was infamous for its use on evil missions by thieves and witches, there was nothing wrong with its meat.

Gun Totting Soldier Kills Four

By A Correspondent- A suspected soldier allegedly shot and killed four people in Turf, Kadoma, Saturday, leaving three others seriously injured.

The shooting incident happened at Wanganui Shopping Centre at around 1800hrs.

According to a police statement Sunday:

“The ZRP (Zimbabwe Republic Police) is investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Wanganui Shopping Centre, Turf, Kadoma on December 25, 2021, at about 1800 hours., where four people were shot dead while three others were seriously injured after a misunderstanding.

“It is alleged that an unidentified suspect from Caviga Farm, Kwekwe who was drinking beer at the shopping centre was involved in a brawl with one of the victims before a mob joined in and pursued the suspect. The suspect fired shots in the air and eventually shot seven people.”

Sources alleged that the suspect behind the shooting was a Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) officer in uniform who was in the company of colleagues.

The suspect is alleged to be having an affair with a minor girl aged 15. The father of the girl later confronted the soldier over the affair.

A mob gathered to intervene forcing the soldier and his colleagues to flee from the shopping centre.

However, this led to an altercation.

The officer, sensing danger during the commotion fired two warning shots into the air, but the mob pursued him and in retaliation shot at the mob killing three on the spot.

One of the injured people died on the way to the hospital while three of the injured were taken to Chegutu Hospital.

Drunk Patati Patata Hitmaker Falls On Stage In Kadoma

By A Correspondent- Rockford Josphat, a high-riding Zimbabwean musician fondly known as Roki recently went on stage visibly drunk and fell, much to the chagrin of fans.

He then failed to finish his performance at the Odyssey Hotel in Kadoma recently.

Roki’s performance followed after Enzo Ishall. The Patati Patata hitmaker is reported to have gone on stage, visibly drunk and performed one song whose lyrics he struggled to recite before falling down and taken off the stage.

A disgruntled fan only identified as Delight expressed anger over Roki’s behaviour.

He said:

The show was a waste of time and money. These artists should take promoters, fans, and venue owners seriously. Roki only performed one song before he fell down. He was drunk and everyone could see that. He was then taken to the swimming pool side where he lay down as people took pictures of him and with him.

The show was attended by a few people and after Roki’s stunt people started leaving the joint. That’s disrespectful to fans. He has been doing well but it seems old habits die hard. He is back to the controversial lifestyle that almost put an end to his career.

Roki’s career was almost over after a long sabbatical that forced him into farming at his Seke home before signing under Passion Java Records where he produced the album Colours which carries songs such as the hit Patati Patata, Uchandifunga, Zviriko, Chidzoka remix among others.

Roki made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean artist to gunner a million views in 24 hours with Patati Patata which features legendary Kofie Olomide and Ray Vanny.

However, critics have accused his record label Passion Java Records of fabricating numbers.-standard

Billiat Out Of AFCON

Warriors Team Manager Wellington Mpandare has confirmed that Khama Billiat will not be part of the Warriors squad to travel to travel to Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The nimble-footed winger retired from international football under unclear circumstances last month but plans were in place to persuade him to reconsider his decision and have one last dance with the national team, for the continental extravaganza.

Without giving much detail as to whether the talks did go on or not, Mpandare confirmed that the Kaizer Chiefs man will not be in Cameroon.

“Khama will not be available. We will respect his decision,” Mpandare said.

“We want to thank him for the time he played for the national team, helping the team qualify for Afcon for three consecutive times is no mean achievement.”

“However, the door will remain open for him for future assignments,” he added.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Facts About STIs

WHO STI Research Priority Setting Technical Advisory Group

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have a profound impact on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) worldwide. In 2020, an estimated 374 million new infections occurred globally with one of the 4 curable STIs: syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis.

[1] The Global Health Sector Strategy on STIs (2016-2021) sets out several guiding principles for ending the STI epidemic as a public health problem,[2] but many gaps in evidence limit available guidance and tools, and progress toward STI prevention and control has been slow.[3] As an updated global strategy is developed for the next decade, new research is essential to strengthen the evidence base for new and improved interventions and guidelines including, but not limited to: the epidemiology, risk factors, and consequences of STIs; development and evaluation of behavioral, biomedical, clinical, and programmatic STI interventions and strategies; and scaling up existing interventions.

WHO is undertaking an exercise to identify global and regional STI research priorities. The systematic priority setting approach will involve consultation with a wide range of global stakeholders.

A Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on STI Research Priority Setting, consisting of external experts, will contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of the research priority setting exercise. The STI Research Priority Setting TAG will be expected to oversee the process and to consider and include perspectives across regions, gender, populations and socioeconomics.

In its capacity as an advisory body to WHO, the STI Research Priority Setting TAG shall have the following functions:

Develop the priority setting framework (eg. clarify the objectives, context, scope, and focus areas of the process).
Review and provide comments to WHO on the research priority setting process protocol and survey tools.

Generate lists of national, regional and global STI experts and stakeholder groups to ensure a broad range of survey participants are reached during the priority setting process implementation.
Participate in consolidating STI research questions solicited from stakeholder surveys.

Ensure that the proposed criteria for scoring research questions will address the objectives of the exercise.
Review analysis and results of ranking and systematic listing of priority research questions (with data management/statistical support).
Contribute to the WHO finalization. publishing and dissemination of global STI research priorities.

The STI Research Priority Setting TAG will meet with the WHO Secretariat throughout this process. The first meeting will be convened no earlier than 13 December 2021. In keeping with the requirements of the WHO Advisory Groups guidelines and the WHO Compliance, Risk Management and Ethics Office, we are posting online short biographies of the TAG members.

The listed candidates have also submitted a Declaration of Interest form stating any conflict of interests. WHO has applied its internal processes to ensure that the performance of the above tasks by members of this group will be transparent and without any significant conflict of interests (academic, financial, or other) that could affect the credibility of the process.

Nevertheless, WHO invites the general public to review the experts and stakeholders involved and provide feedback regarding any member deemed to have a significant conflict of interest with respect to the terms of reference for this group.

Comments and feedbacks should be cordial and constructive, and sent to [email protected] .

Siri Butau – Zim’s Super Hero

By Simba Chikanza | If there’s anything that distinguishes Zimbabweans from the rest of the world, it is sacrifice, while others spend time shooting selfie videos during disasters, Zimbabweans will jump in and do the rescue work; from Zimbabweans who are running the South African economy, to hardworking Zim experts supporting the Botswana nation, to one Zimbabwean businessman currently leading the vaccination efforts for the entire African continent, and another who single handedly discovered the troublesome Omicron COVID Variant, the teapot nation never disappoints. On Christmas Eve, the country produced its own Superman, not the one we watch in the Hollywood movies, but a real one who gets injured in the rescue effort.

Coincidentally, his first name is Siri, not the fictitious Apple robot, Siri, but a human one; he is Sirizani Butau. He managed to pull out 8 people from a burning inferno following an accident on the Harare-Mutare bus-fuel truck collision.

Right now his body is badly burnt but at least after saving 8 people from hell. His friend could not make it, but he managed to get the rest before it was too late.

As this network coordinates donations for him since Saturday, he speaks to ZimEye following the accident saying he was driving from Mutare towards the capital city, Harare, and “when we arrived at the scene there was no fire; the cars had not been burnt at all; so we tried to do what we did and then I went to the driver (of truck in front) who was still alive and he said to me, Butau my friend please open the door for me.”

“When I failed to open that door, that’s when the fire started; and the fire was emerging from underneath the bus.”

Butau was in a car that was right behind the vehicle that didn’t head on collision with the fuel tanker.

He says he took a crowbar to try to open the accident vehicle to get the driver out of the truck. While in that operation of all of a sudden there was an explosion, which he describes as a bowl of fire.

Butau was not discouraged by the fire but continued pulling out people, and footage at the scene after the rescue, has people praising him for saving many victims.

Below is the brief interview
of which National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi says the bus, which was on its way from Harare, encroached onto the opposite lane resulting in the head-on collision with the tanker that was heading towards Harare.
“There are reports that the bus driver had tried to avoid a drunken person who was along the road and thereby encroaching onto the opposite lane but we are still conducting investigations.

“The tanker which was transporting fuel burst into flames. Both vehicles were reduced to wrecks

Plain Clothes Cops “Kill” Budiriro Man

By- Police have been accused of fatally assaulting and killing an unarmed civilian in broad daylight last Saturday in front of children and members of the public in Budiriro.

The deceased, Percy Dick, was buried on Wednesday following the fatal assault.

Dick had left home for a routine medical check-up but was never to return after the assault.

His mother Christine Chatitima told Standardpeople that she was in shock that her son died at the hands of law enforcement officers. She said:

My son was beaten up by plain-clothed police officers at Current Shops in Budiriro. What happened is the police officers blocked the vehicle which was taking Percy to see a doctor over a leg problem.

As the team tried to ask the police to clear the way a dispute arose and my son was attacked by the police. He died at the scene.

An eyewitness, who only identified herself as Chihera, said an angry female police officer grabbed Percy by the privates and pulled him until his eyes turned white. She said:

She pulled him by the private parts and dragged the poor man. We saw his eyes rolling until they were all white. This happened in broad daylight and they killed him while we watched.

Angry community members and the family have teamed up to demand justice by putting up posters inscribed ‘Justice for Percy,’ ‘End Police Brutality.’

There are allegations that police attempted to attribute Percy’s death to Covid-19 and later to diabetes as they tried to cover their tracks.

Percy, a 31-year-old man, is survived by two children and a 25-year-old wife.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said police were still waiting for full investigations on the circumstances surrounding his death before they could fully respond.

Nyathi said that post-mortem results did not show that Percy was murdered, and therefore, it would be too early to comment.

He also said Mnangagwa was not going to persecute even exiled politicians if they returned.

By- Power struggles between Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga have intensified ahead of the party’s Provincial Coordinating Committee elections due this Tuesday.

Both want to strategically use the PCCs to position themselves for the party’s 2022 elective congress.

Senior party officials told The Standard that the provincial elections were threatening to get bloody as violence had already erupted in some provinces.

In this political mess, the name of exiled former ZANU PF national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere comes up, accused of sponsoring candidates in the ZANU PF provincial elections.

His accusers charge that Tyson, as Kasukuwere is known, is determined to take back control of the party that he led as political commissar before he went into exile following the November 2017 military coup. A source from the volatile Mashonaland Central province told the Standard on Christmas:

This is a fight for the control of structures ahead of the congress that we hear is around December 2022. It’s a war now as the fight is on who should be in charge, Mnangagwa or Chiwenga.

Inside sources and other information gathered by The Standard ahead of the Tuesday polls indicate that intimidation and mudslinging, including even outright violence, are taking centre stage across provinces, particularly in Manicaland, Midlands, Mashonaland West and Mashonaland Central.

In Manicaland, there were reports that villagers were being threatened against attending meetings called by rival candidates while police received an assault report on Wednesday where a Zanu PF local chairman was attacked with a knife by a member of a rival team during a meeting.

Manicaland Zanu PF chairman Mike Madiro a known Mnangagwa ally confirmed and condemned the acts of violence against him and other aspiring candidates.

Central committee member Moses Gutu claimed that some people who wanted to contest in the Zanu PF provincial elections were Kasukuwere’s agents.

In Masvingo province, Zanu PF supporters protested at the homestead of Chiredzi West Member of Parliament Farai Musikavanhu after accusing him of using presidential inputs to buy support.

Former war veterans’ leader Jabulani Sibanda, who is eyeing the Bulawayo provincial chairman’s post, hinted in his campaign message that he wanted to restructure the party and flush out what he called criminal elements that were hiding in Zanu PF.

Impact Of STIs On Reproductive Health

Siri Butau -The Man Who Sacrificed Own Life To Pull Passengers Out Of Inferno

Ramaphosa Mourns Archbishop Desmond Tutu

South African president Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has died.

In a statement on Sunday, minister in the presidency Mondli Gungubele said President Cyril Ramaphosa “expresses, on behalf of all South Africans, his profound sadness at the passing today, Sunday December 26, of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Mpilo Tutu”.

Archbishop Tutu, the last surviving South African laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize, passed away in Cape Town at the age of 90.

“President Ramaphosa expresses his heartfelt condolences to MAM Leah Tutu, the Tutu family, the board and staff of the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, the Elders and Nobel Laureate Group, and the friends, comrades and associates nationally and globally of the iconic spiritual leader, anti-apartheid activist and global human rights campaigner.”

Ramaphosa said: “The passing of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is another chapter of bereavement in our nation’s farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans who have bequeathed us a liberated SA.

“Desmond Tutu was a patriot without equal; a leader of principle and pragmatism who gave meaning to the biblical insight that faith without works is dead.

“A man of extraordinary intellect, integrity and invincibility against the forces of apartheid, he was also tender and vulnerable in his compassion for those who had suffered oppression, injustice and violence under apartheid, and oppressed and downtrodden people around the world.”

He said as the chairperson of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Tutu articulated the “universal outrage at the ravages of apartheid and touchingly and profoundly demonstrated the depth of meaning of ubuntu, reconciliation and forgiveness”.

“He placed his extensive academic achievements at the service of our struggle and at the service of the cause for social and economic justice the world over.

“From the pavements of resistance in SA to the pulpits of the world’s great cathedrals and places of worship, and the prestigious setting of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, the Arch distinguished himself as a nonsectarian, inclusive champion of universal human rights.

“In his richly inspiring yet challenging life, Desmond Tutu overcame tuberculosis, the brutality of the apartheid security forces and the intransigence of successive apartheid regimes.

Neither Casspirs, teargas nor security agents could intimidate him or deter him from his steadfast belief in our liberation.

“He remained true to his convictions during our democratic dispensation and maintained his vigour and vigilance as he held leadership and the burgeoning institutions of our democracy to account in his inimitable, inescapable and always fortifying way.

“We share this moment of deep loss with MAM Leah Tutu, the Archbishop’s soul mate and source of strength and insight, who has made a monumental contribution in her own right to our freedom and to the development of our democracy.

“We pray that Archbishop Tutu’s soul will rest in peace but that his spirit will stand sentry over the future of our nation.”

Joseph Kalimbwe Blasts Zanu PF

Tinashe Sambiri|Joseph Kalimbwe of Zambia’s UPND has blasted Zanu PF for being upset with his Christmas message to the MDC Alliance.

Kalimbwe posted a Christmas message citing the MDC Alliance and UPND friends across the world.

“These ones from Charamba’s party are upset and say I politicized Christmas day by including wishing MDCA and ACT friends in a Merry Christmas text.

Whitecliff Residents Now At The Mercy Of Property Developer As Govt Chickens Out

By A Correspondent| Government has virtually dumped Whitecliff residents it illegally settled on land belonging to a private property developer over a decade ago, leaving them at the mercy of an impending eviction.

The residents, in their thousands, illegally settled on land grabbed Eddies Pfugari Properties and are staring in the face of an eviction President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government failed to compensate the company as earlier agreed.

Pfugari obtained an eviction order at the High Court a few years ago, but the government, through the Local Government ministry, prevented its implementation after committing to paying for the land.

After government reneged on the payment, the company was left with no option but seek the services of the Sheriff of the High Court to implement the eviction.

This publication can also report that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) dispatched officers, who included high ranking cops, to the area to map out how the evictions will proceed.

In any eviction by the Sherrif, police officers are at law required to provide escort for security.

Some of the residents who spoke to this publication Thursday said they are living in fear of evictions.

“We encourage the government to pay. We did not come here on our own. We were settled by government and we expect it to honour its obligations,” a resident said.

Another resident said: “We are living in constant fear of being evicted and we are in a very depressing situation. We don’t know what to do.”

Efforts to get comments from government were fruitless with Local Government minister apparently terminating calls without answering before sending a text message requesting written inquiries which he still did not respond to.

Deputy minister Marian Chombo also requested written questions.

“I do have an update on that but I would appreciate that you send your inquires in written form,” she said.

She however also did not respond to written inquires.

Permanent secretary in the ministry Zvinechimwe Churu claimed he was in a meeting and could not entertain any questions.

NGO Spoils Female Inmates

By- Inmates at Chikurubi Female Prison received a Christmas gift to savour when a Non-Governmental Organisation, Jedidiah Trust organised a reunion for them and their children.

The 161 incarcerated mothers had the opportunity to spend time with their children who received food hampers donated by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives.

Chikurubi Female Prison Officer in Charge, Superintendent Mervis Dzimbanhete said the reunion highlights the value of mother and child relationships.

“We really value this reunion because a mother is very special. We cannot speak of a mother without involving the children. And we cannot make reference to a child without including the mothers. I want to thank Jedidiah for the mind-set they had to help children reunite with their mothers,” she said.
Jedidiah Trust representative Mr Lovemore Chikwanda said this was meant to re-unite families and improve relations between children and their incarcerated parents.
“As you are bonding with children my appeal is that as mothers you change your behaviour and live a purposeful life when you leave prison.
“To those who committed crimes such as stealing, you should understand that you should work hard to get money. To those who committed other crimes, know that crime does not pay. Good mothers always think of their children first, would you want your children to return here in prison next time if you are supposed to be have been released by then?

“Some incarcerated mothers have given a burden to their families to lie on their behalf so that children don’t know they are in prison. Right now is the time to do self-introspection and correct the mistakes made. We work with some of the children who are in support groups, some are mocked at school because of their imprisoned mothers while some are not staying well in communities because they are labelled children of thieves,” Mr Chikwanda lamented.
The initiative to reunite incarcerated mothers with their children is part of Jedidiah Trust’s mandate to facilitate rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates and to ensure they and their families cope with challenges during and after incarceration.
A 2014 survey by the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency revealed that one in three children whose parents are incarcerated are undernourished, while many of the children’s other needs are not adequately met.

“We have deployed Politburo members who are going to run and manage the affairs of the provinces.
“As you know we have dissolved provincial structures, so we have assigned two Politburo members for each province and they will administer the provinces and also supervise the elections.
“These Politburo members do not come from the areas that they have been deployed to but they will be assisted by Central Committee Members who also don’t come from that same province,” said Bimha.
He said the material that would be used for the elections was ready for distribution.

“Ballot boxes and all other election materials will be dispatched tomorrow (today).

Donkeys Die In Scotch Cart Accident

By-Two teenagers from Plumtree escaped death by a whisker after their donkey-drawn scotch cart came into contact with a live electricity cable.

The two boys, aged 17 and 15, did not suffer any injuries, while two of the donkeys died on the spot while one survived.

The incident occurred at a business centre in Goba, Mangaramu village.
The two teenagers were later taken to the clinic, where they were given injections and tablets.

The owner of the scotch cart, Emody Dube, told CITE in an interview that the two boys were taking his daughter-in-law to the hospital when tragedy struck.
Dube said the live electricity cable has been hanging low for close to a week.
“My daughter-in-law is not feeling well so I asked the boys to take her to the hospital. Her husband is in South Africa. They took the cart which was being pulled by three donkeys,” said Dube.
“That cable has been hanging for almost a week now and it is about seven meters above ground. With all that space in-between I don’t understand how the donkeys came into contact with it.”
Dube implored Zimbabwe Electricity and Transmission Company (ZETDC) to attend to such faults timeously in order to curb such tragedies from happening.
“Right now I have lost two of my donkeys, the ones I was using for farming. It is the rainy season now there is a lot of fieldwork. Who is going to compensate me? We have no transport at this part of the village. We rely on carts. How am I going to get by now? This is a huge setback for me,” he said.

Mavaza Says: Chamisa Has His Priorities Wrong | FULL TEXT

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | As we enter into 2022 our eyes look further to election time in 2023. But our eyes will see what 2021 taught us. Jonathan Moyo the G40 guru and a sworn enemy of ED Mnangagwa described the MDC A as a party which has lost its priorities and leading itself astray. He wrote on twitter “On the MDC-A’s priorities, it’s common cause that the party is in dire straits: no office; no budget; no party workers; no cars with party logos out there; no visible nationwide party activity: therefore basically, no institutional capacity and no administrative support!”

Alongside campaigning for office, political parties also undertake other preparation for what they will do if they win an election and get into power.

In the Zimbabwe any change of government can happen rapidly once a general election result is known. When there is a new majority government the handover of power is often the morning after the result, and new governments want to get going immediately. If a party has no priorities it will not be able to run a country.

This means that much of the preparation that opposition parties might undertake for government considering any changes they want to make to departments or understanding what it is like to be a minister – has to occur before they take office. Other countries have transition periods to allow a new government to consider some of these issues. But with the MDC A who fail to plan for a simple name change it will be a disaster to even consider them for government.
The behaviour of the MDC A clearly shows the conditions under which political parties pay attention to important issues. It compares the dominant partisan perspective, which proposes that attention to issues is shaped by party competition, to an interest group perspective, which proposes that strong interest groups, in particular when their power is institutionalized in corporatist systems, can force parties to pay attention to their issue. The party attention to issues should not isolate party competition from the influence of other political actors.
It is not new to realise that the MDC A and their allies who finance them have prioritised to make sure Zimbabwe becomes a state that promotes neo colonialism and white supremacy saying Zanu have captured all the organs of the state from police, judiciary, army etc. the MDC A is not planning to lead but to be led by their financiers. The major plan in the MDC agenda is only to please their leader and handover the country to the strangers.

Zimbabwe needs independent thinkers who are not oblivious to reality. Any party which knows that the opposition is plotting to reverse the gains of independence cannot be blamed for standing on guard to protect the gains of independence. Looking at this case on the round you will be be inclined nit to blame Zanu pf on what they are being accused of doing.

After polarization of Zimbabweans using poverty subjected to Zimbabweans through imposition of illegal sanctions Zanu pf will still leave the doors open for MDC and their imperial allies to destroy them, that will not happen.
ZANU OF and MDC A have long held differing views about policy solutions, but throughout most of the recent past there was rough partisan agreement about the set of issues that were the top priorities for the nation.

However, that is less and less the case. ZANU OF and MDC have been moving further apart not just in their political values and approaches to addressing the issues facing the country, but also on the issues they identify as top priorities for the president and parliament to address.
For more than two decades, MDC has lost the public’s priorities, including in their own party politics.

While many issues are considered high priorities by majorities in Zimbabwe today, there is virtually no common ground in the priorities that rise to the top of the lists for MDC. All on the top of the list is to grab power. There is no plan on what to do with power once it is given to them. With that shallowness displayed by the MDC it remains for the ZANU PF and Zimbabweans to defend the country and its values against the MDC and its handlers.

ZANU PF has prioritised
independents, health care costs, education, the environment, Medicare and assistance for poor and needy people top the list of priorities, while MDC has fixed is eyes on glorifying a-boy called Chamisa. Health, education job creation stabilising economy none of these is among the five leading top priorities for MDC. Their priority is on power and nothing else. Their slogan speaks volumes of their priorities.
The partisan gap is particularly wide for a handful of issues. For instance, MDC A has no office. Has no name has no visibility yet they take the little donations they have to buy a bullet proof car for Chamisa. The change is used to buy the motor cycles for his convoy before he is even made the country’s president.

This exhibits the twisted priorities of MDC A.
MDC A has failed to condemn the sanctions to this day. They have encouraged more sanctions and only want sanctions to be removed once Chamisa is in power. Who on earth could wish his own people to suffer under these sanctions.
Whatever Zanu pf does after imposition of illegal sanctions is just act of self defence nse and national interest. America regardless of imposing themselves as the world’s police they have failed to push ZANU PF out of office. This is because the roots of ZANU PF are plunged in the people.
Americans believe that Zimbabwe Zanu pf is using state institutions to remain in power, this belief is the only explanation Americans can have for dismally failing to sway Zimbabweans against their party.
Americans will do Zimbabweans a great favour if they just remove their illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe which where imposed to bully a sovereignty state.
As long as Americans illegal sanctions stay, Zimbabweans will rally behind Zanu pf and it will have all the reasons to remain in control of state institutions and using them for the survival of the nation.

Americans are simply saying to ZANU PF reform your electoral laws so that it becomes easy for any stranger to play with your seat of power. Who on earth could accept that.
Zimbabweans are aware that there is a team of puppets already put on standby to take over power on behalf of their handlers. Zimbabwe is more wiser than that. A free and fair election involves political freedoms and fair processes leading up to the vote, a fair count of eligible voters who cast a ballot (including such aspects as electoral fraud or voter suppression), and acceptance of election results by all parties.
If one party benefits from the mighty of superpowers against a small national party, then these are not free or fair elections.

Elections are a central feature of democracy. For elections to express the will of the electorate, they must be ‘free and fair’.
‘Free’ means that all those entitled to vote have the right to be registered and to vote and must be free to make their choice. In Zimbabwe every citizen over the age of 18 is entitled to vote. An election is considered ‘free’ when you can decide whether or not to vote and vote freely for the candidate or party of your choice without fear or intimidation. A ‘free’ election is also one where you are confident that who you vote for remains your secret.
‘Fair’ means that all registered political parties have an equal right to contest the elections, campaign for voter support and hold meetings and rallies. This gives them a fair chance to convince voters to vote for them. A fair election is also one in which all voters have an equal opportunity to register, where all votes are counted, and where the announced results reflect the actual vote totals.
But in Zimbabwe MDC is given all the international support and international space yet ZANU PF is squashed and squeezed into isolation. Its supporters are starved and its leaders are targeted for sanctions.
There is great duress on Zimbabwean people. They are given no choice at all and asked to vote ZANU PF out or starve through sanctions.
This is not democracy and its unfairness to the core.
As we move to the new year Zimbabweans will not forget whose priorities counts.
ZANU PF has the best interest of its people at heart.

Lawrence Kelemen Gives The Origins Of Christmas

By Dr Masimba Mavaza

I.     When was Jesus born?
A.     Popular myth puts his birth on December 25th in the year 1 C.E.
B.     The New Testament gives no date or year for Jesus’ birth.  The earliest gospel – St. Mark’s, written about 65 CE – begins with the baptism of an adult Jesus.  This suggests that the earliest Christians lacked interest in or knowledge of Jesus’ birthdate.

By-A Limpopo man shot and killed seven members of his family just after midnight at their home at Jimmy Jones village in the Vhembe District.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the province say they cannot reveal the names of the family members that were brutally murdered.

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said in a statement on Saturday, 25 December 2021:

The Police in Malamulele have opened a case of murder (seven counts) after seven members of the family were today, 25 December 2021 just after midnight at about 00:20, shot and killed allegedly by another family member at Jimmy Jones village in the Vhembe District.

Kazembe In Hot Soup For Leaking Mnangagwa Secretes

By- Home Affairs Minister and Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairman, Kazembe Kazembe is being investigated by the party for allegedly leaking party information.

Kazembe is said to have leaked Politburo deliberations to villagers in Rushinga in a bid to entice voters to vote for him in the upcoming party provincial elections.

He is reportedly having urged villagers to vote for him since Politburo Member Kenneth Musanhi had allegedly initiated the disqualification of business tycoon James Makamba, from the provincial chairmanship race.

Musanhi who is the most senior party member in Mashonaland Central province is said to be supporting Tafadzwa Musarara election bid.

Kazembe reportedly called one of his trusted lieutenants in Rushinga party District Co-ordinating Committee (DCC) member Cletous Ranganai Chiminyu who endorsed Kazembe and denounced Musanhi this Friday. Said Chiminyu:

As you all know Makamba was disqualified (and) according to Minister Kazembe, the cause of Makamba’s disqualification was pushed by Musanhi in the Politburo, this was done to pave way for Musarara. So we are urging you all to vote for Kazembe since Makamba had a strong ground here, you now know your enemies.

Kazembe who is set to be soliciting support in Rushinga on Christmas day refused to comment.

ZANU PF supporters in Mashonaland Central are geared for the Provincial election slated for Tuesday.

Man Marries Second Wife With First Wife’s Money

By -The Madziwa teacher, who allegedly committed suicide after her husband used her money to pay lobola for another woman, was provoked by the second wife, who sent her pictures of the lobola ceremony, details have emerged.
Close family members say Auxillia Matukudure had an altercation with her husband identified, as Norman Murire over his infidelity on December 18.
A close relative said, Auxillia’s body will lie in state at her house, despite cultural considerations forbidding suicide victims to be put in the house prior to burial.
“The situation is very tense but her body will lie in state at her Madziwa house which she had built.

“Mourners will be at the house during the night awaiting burial tomorrow in Kadoma town.
“The community members demonstrated on Wednesday before some of them were detained at police station
“It’s now the community versus the police because the husband is a policeman. Culturally, when one dies they should lie in state mumba mavo, so despite that she committed suicide, relatives are saying she should be in her house.
“They want to make sure that they (the husband and his new wife) will not use the house.”
Asked to clarify on what transpired, the source said: “These people were real entrepreneurs and on the day she suspected that her husband was up to something, she asked him if he had taken her money.
“He denied everything and that he had paid lobola for another woman. The issue is that, Auxillia was provoked by this woman as she is the one who sent her pictures of the lobola payment.
“It’s not the husband who leaked the pictures since he was planning to explain the whole situation.
“He was also surprised how the pictures got to his wife.
“The woman stays in town and she would pass through Auxillia’s work place only to provoke her,” said the source.
What further irked Auxillia was the number of people who were close to her attended the lobola payment ceremony.
“A big number of people who were at the event are close to Auxillia and she felt betrayed.
“Her body will pass through her house and relatives want to make sure the husband and new wife won’t have peace if they they use that house,” added the source.
Auxillia was a mathematics teacher in Madziwa and she leaves behind four children – one who is in form 2, Grade 7, Grade4 and a two year –old.
They are all girls.
Mashonaland Central Police Spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed receiving the case.

“We have received information of sudden death by poisoning where it was reported that on December 18, the deceased had a heated argument with her husband over infidelity issues.
“After the misunderstanding she said goodbye to him and took the poisonous substance.
“She was then rushed to hospital where she was admitted. She died the following day around 7 pm and no foul play is suspected since she even talked before she died,” he said.
Inspector Mundembe urged members of the public to deal with matters affecting them amicably.
“We urge members of the public to open up on marriage issues and share their problems with close members rather than to take their own lives.
“They should think about their dependents before taking their own lives,” he added.
A source said on the day in question, Auxillia told her husband to enjoy his new lover before she took the poison.
“Akataura mashoko ekuti usare ugare zvakanaka nemukadzi wako munyowani iyeye.
“Akabva atora mushonga wechibage.” H Metro
