Biti Dismisses Mthuli Budget

Tinashe Sambiri|CCC vice president Hon Tendai Biti has described Mthuli Ncube’s mid term budget review as a dog’s breakfast.

According to Hon Biti, the midterm budget review does not address real issues affecting the economy.

“The Minister of Finance has presented his 2022 mid term review budget statement .

It was painful to indulge in an hour of a pointless, tired monologue .An absolute damp squib.A huge opportunity was missed to address fundamental disequilibrium in the economy centered around …

..from US$60000 to US&40000 will also hit hard the informal sector .Big business is not spared .Corporates are now required to prepare two sets of accounts ,one for US$ and another for ZWL$ transactions. This a costly exercise confirming that we have become a Banana Republic.

In short this Review was a complete disaster . It betrayed the absence of a theoretical philosophical framework of its authors . It entrenched looting and arbitrage whilst unleashing cruel revenue measures . What a dog’s breakfast !!

There can never be reforms without reformers .Mthuli Ncube is no reformer. Instead his stewardship of the economy has been a complete disaster. In the name of surpluses he has run budget deficits well above 25% of GDP since 2018. He has presided over a most corrupt economy besieged by arbitrage & capture . The solution is simple , float the Zim$ ,expunge the auction&gold coin. Remove Export Surrender RequirementsPay civil servants in US$ ,fund the budget ,lower taxes ,reduce rate of interest ,resolve deficit & debt crises,Deal with corruption,” Hon Biti argued.

Minister Shooting: No Arrests

Police have intensified investigations into the attempted robbery on National Railways of Zimbabwe chairperson Advocate Martin Dinha on Tuesday night while he was driving through South Greendale.

Adv Dinha says he accidentally shot himself in the thigh during the attempted robbery.

He reported that armed robbers tracked him as he was driving away from the nearby Cresta Lodge and blocked his way on the intersection of Leander and Metcalf Roads, a block away from Samora Machel Avenue East at around 10:40pm.

Adv Dinha reported that as he was driving from Cresta Lodge, he suspected that a car was following him.

Upon reaching the intersection on a side road in Greendale, he reported that a second car blocked his vehicle at the front, while the trailing car blocked him from behind. One of the rear robbers then produced an AK47 rifle, while another produced a machete.

Adv Dinha reported that he fired a warning shot and at the same time the suspects’ AK47 jammed before the two robbers advanced and attacked him.

He reported that during the subsequent scuffle, he shot himself on the thigh and the robbers fled.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi yesterday said investigations were underway.

“The ZRP is still investigating a shooting incident which occurred on July 26, 2022 at around 2240hours at corner Leander and Metcalf Roads, Greendale, Harare,” he said. “Advocate Martin Dinha was involved in a shoot-out with three robbery suspects who were armed with a machete and a suspected AK47 rifle.

“Advocate Dinha’s firearm, a CZ Pistol accidentally discharged, resulting in him being shot on the leg.” No arrests have been made and the matter has since been referred to the CID Homicide Section for further investigations. -Herald

CCC Slams ZBC Incompetence

Tinashe Sambiri|CCC has slammed ZBC for “cutting off” Harare Mayor, Councillor Jacob Mafume.

Mafume was literally switched off the air by ZBC while making a presentation on the stinking Pomona scandal.

CCC has accused ZBC of depriving the public of the right to access information about Zanu PF’s looking spree.

“Dear
@ZBCNewsonline

Why did you cut off transmission during Mayor
@JMafume
’s address today?

Why are you afraid of citizens hearing the truth about Zanu PF’s looting? This is why we demand media reforms. This abuse of state institutions must fall.

We need new leaders,” CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere wrote on Twitter.

Zanu PF Steals USD 25 Billion: Watch

Tinashe Sambiri| Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Zanu PF party has failed to account for USD 25 billion State funds.

Furthermore the regime is using terror tactics to maintain a firm grip on power.

The former revolutionary party is using the Zimbabwe Ndeyeropa mantra to intimidate rural voters across the country.

Susan Mutami Zimbabwe’s New Nehanda

By A Correspondent | ANALYSIS | ZimEye | The Susan Mutami rape case story is a huge development… but it’s even greater than people think, because it’s not just rape that Mutami is communicating – There is something further. She’s sending a signal as a modern Nehanda Nyakasikana for the purpose of achieving regime change. She is an invention of the ZANU PF inner core to bring Emmerson Mnangagwa’s tenure to a quick end. For over 126 years in Zimbabwe, every time the establishment has moved to change the regime, a vocal woman is used for the purpose.

In the 60s, the freedom fighters re-created a figure called Nehanda Nyakasikana, who is the 19 century incarnate of the first Nehanda, a woman who led the Shonas from Tanzania while riding a lion cub, as the ancient story says. The Nehanda spirit inspired the fighters through to independence from Britain in 1980.

In 2014, ZANU PF reinvented Nehanda again, this time in the face of the late president Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace, and she was used to help end the Joice Mujuri Vice Presidency so that Emmerson Mnangagwa can take over and eventually conduct a coup. Grace Mugabe even publicly boasted that she is Nehanda herself.

This time, the Nehanda agent, is the well known Zimbabwe state operative, Susan Mutami who has for years dated the sanctioned former CIO minister Owen ‘Mudha’ Ncube. Mudha is famous for leading machete gangs across the country and also running the entire Central Intelligence Organisation, CIO apparatus. Mutami even announces she has named one of her sons, Owen, and a perusal of her Twitter account shows that she only started complaints against Emmerson Mnangagwa hours after Mudha’s was fired from his cabinet post in January 2022.

Just like the previous Nehandas, Mutami is a fiery force for a cause, and this time it is one campaigning against child rape. The move according to international lawyers will see Mnangagwa criminalised so that the grounds of impeachment can be assembled. ZANU PF is planning to remove Mnangagwa before 2023 elections, a move that’s set to destroy the opposition Nelson Chamisa’s chances of ever attaining state power. The latter party has committed the biggest mistake of confining its methods to a mere election. Chamisa is concentrating on building human numbers, while the ZANU PF inner core, spends time assembling ideas for regime change that are more realistic.

Facts About Hepatitis

World hepatitis day 2022 data

World Hepatitis Day
is observed each year on 28 July to raise awareness of viral hepatitis, which causes inflammation of the liver that leads to severe disease and liver cancer.

The world is currently facing a new outbreak of unexplained acute hepatitis infections affecting children. WHO, together with scientists and policymakers in affected countries, are working to understand the cause of this infection that does not appear to belong to any of the known 5 types of hepatitis viruses: A,B,C,D, and E.

This new outbreak brings focus on thousands of acute viral hepatitis infections that occur among children, adolescents and adults every year.

Most acute hepatitis infections cause mild disease and even go undetected. But in some cases, they can lead complications and be fatal. In 2019 alone, an estimated 78 000 deaths occurred worldwide due to complications of acute hepatitis A to E infections.

Global efforts prioritize the elimination of the hepatitis infections B, C and D infections. Unlike acute viral hepatitis, these 3 infections cause chronic hepatitis that lasts for several decades and culminate in over 1 million deaths per year from cirrhosis and liver cancer.

These 3 types of chronic hepatitis infections are responsible for over 95% of hepatitis deaths. While we have the guidance and tools to diagnose, treat, and prevent chronic viral hepatitis, these services are often out of reach of communities and are sometimes only available at centralized/specialized hospitals.

On World Hepatitis Day 2022, WHO is highlighting the need for bringing hepatitis care closer to the primary health facilities and communities so that people have better access to treatment and care, no matter what type of hepatitis they may have.

WHO aims to achieve hepatitis elimination by 2030. To get there, WHO calls on countries to achieve specific targets:

Reduce new infections of hepatitis B and C by 90%;
Reduce hepatitis related deaths from liver cirrhosis and cancer by 65%;
Ensure that at least 90% of people with hepatitis B and C virus are diagnosed; and
At least 80% of those eligible receive appropriate treatment.

Mthwakazi Dismisses Census Results

Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) has rejected preliminary 2022 population census results released by the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) and said it will soon conduct its own census in southern Zimbabwe.

According to the ZIMSTAT report, Zimbabwe’s population grew by 16.2 per cent from 13,061,239 in 2012 to 15,178,979 in 2022 with an annual growth rate of 1.5 per cent.

Bulawayo Metropolitan Province’s population grew by just 12, 603 people in the past 10 years. It was 653,337 in 2012 and now stands at 665,940.

Speaking to CITE, MRP president Mqondisi Moyo alleged that the census results released by ZIMSTAT are extremely “flawed.” Said Moyo:

We have always argued about the population results of Matabeleland and the Midlands, alias Mthwakazi.

I analysed these results after the 2012 results looking at 2002 figures as well. The margin of it was similar for 2002 and 2012.

When I wanted to challenge this in 2013, I engaged the Bulawayo City Council (BCC) and by then they projected that the population of Bulawayo was over 1.2 million.

They (BCC) had even said the biggest suburb in Bulawayo was Cowdray Park which they said had about 150, 000 people followed by Nkulumane which had 60, 000 people.

How many new suburbs have been built after that? Cowdray Park keeps on extending, Emganwini and other suburbs. So, their figures do not add up.

We are going to conduct our own population census on our own time using chiefs and village heads in rural areas because these are the people with the right statistics on the subjects that they have in their localities.

In Bulawayo and other urban centres, we are going to use local authority administration because these are the people with proper figures about the number of schools, households and how many people live in each household and all those things. It is easier for us to verify statistics using that information.

Moyo further alleged that ZIMSTAT deliberately suppressed Matabeleland figures to perpetuate the region’s underdevelopment and marginalisation.

Change Money Throws US$2000 To People Before, Killing Girlfriend

By- A Ximex Mall change money Boss Pangolin, whose real name is Tafadzwa Russel Murengwa, shot his ex-girlfriend dead today after showering US$2000 to the public through a window in central Harare.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) identified the deceased as 28-year-old Samantha Ruvimbo Dzapata of Waterfalls.

Dzapata, who worked in Beitbridge for the NGO, CeSHHAR had recently ended the four-year relationship.

Police said the shooting incident happened along Simon Mazorodze Road near Bathroom Boutique around 9 AM today.

In a 14-minute voice note recorded hours after the fatal shooting, Murengwa said he used to shower Samantha with expensive gifts while she indulged a married man in Beitbridge. He said:

We had issues with Samantha since January. I spoke to her mum and we started dating again after a few months.

The problems started again before we went to Victoria Falls for a holiday when she hung up on a video call from her lover. I confronted her but we went ahead with the trip after I forgave her.

We had another nasty fight after I realised she was still chatting with that guy and I hacked her phone. I confronted this man until Samantha decided to dump me for the guy.

Samantha dragged me to court and I was served with a peace order but I kept in touch with her and even bought her a car in Beitbridge just to show how much I loved her, while she was still seeing that man.

They both even told me to back off and I realised then that I had no chance. Today, I took Samantha’s belongings to her workplace.

I then went to Waterfalls where she was staying with her sister along Simon Mazorodze Road.

She started acting all funny, throwing stones around. I tried to reason with her until I became emotional and shot her while she was holding onto her sister.

In the same voice note, Murengwa apologised to his relatives and also outlined his plans. He said:

I’m sorry to all the Murengwa family for what I did. Now I’m in Bindura to meet someone. I’ll be crossing the border and starting a new life.

Samantha said she was emotionally and physically abused by Murengwa for a long time, according to a screenshot of a message she sent to one of Murengwa’s friends.

The message contains a photo Samantha took showing a fresh wound just above her right eye and a swollen lip. She told the person:

This is what your friend did to me when I told him that I am not able to settle with him because of his behaviour.

He abused me emotionally, he was controlling and manipulative.

When I prayed I asked God for signs before I make any plans. My spirit told me that he won’t change, and the marriage would be hell.

I decided to quit. So he attacked me in the face and head with the jack.

Inflation Humbles Mthuli

By-CCC deputy President Tendai Biti said that Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s 2022 mid-term review and budget statement showed that inflation was rearing its head.

Biti, who is also a former Treasurer Boss, said Mthuli failed to address fundamental challenges bedevilling the economy.

Posting on Twitter, Biti, who is CCC deputy president and Member of Parliament for Harare East, said that the fact that broad money grew by 245% by May 2022 shows that the government is failing to live within its means and is resorting to money printing. Biti wrote:
The Minister of Finance has presented his 2022 mid-term review & budget statement. It was painful to indulge in an hour of a pointless, tired monologue. An absolute damp squib.
A huge opportunity was missed to address fundamental disequilibrium in the economy centred around 7 key issues that are 1) hyperinflation 2) exchange rate collapse 3) collapse in public sector wages 4) collapse of the social sector 5) low output 6) deficit financing & the national debt 7) tax reform.
Sadly the government missed a glorious opportunity of addressing key issues. Failing to address the key challenges of the day was a cowardly criminal omission that in any event has been the hallmark of Mthuli’s tenure.

To compound matters, Mthuli then proceeded to make shocking announcements on a supplementary budget & some tax increases.
The 2022 Budget was a ZWL$850 billion budget, but a ZWL$1.9 trillion budget is now being proposed.
Effectively Mthuli is proposing a brand new 2022 budget of 120% more than the original budget. This is sheer insanity driven by money creation & an overzealous fiscal policy.
They are failing to live within their means & are now resorting to money printing. A fact confirmed by Mthuli’s admission that broad money grew by 245% by May 2022.

That domestic debt is now ZWL$1.3 trillion is further proof of the existence of a profligate irresponsible regime.
Collapsed public sector wages needed to be dealt with decisively & anything short of a US$ wage won’t work.
The proposed increase of the tax-free threshold to ZWL$600 000 when the exchange rate is now above 1:1000 is an insult.
Perhaps most shocking are Mthuli’s tax measures which he was too embarrassed to read out. The cruellest is the increase to 30% of withholding tax on cross-border traders without a tax clearance certificate.
This will hurt 60% of the population in the informal economy. The reduction of the Value Added Tax threshold from US$60000 to US$40000 will also hit hard the informal sector.
Big business is not spared. Corporates are now required to prepare two sets of accounts, one for US$ and another for ZWL$ transactions. This is a costly exercise confirming that we have become a Banana Republic.
In short, this Review was a complete disaster. It betrayed the absence of a theoretical philosophical framework of its authors. It entrenched looting and arbitrage whilst unleashing cruel revenue measures. What a dog’s breakfast!

Evidence Chihera Bullying Claims, Mai Titi Avoids Court

By -Socialite and comedian Felistas “Mai TT” Murata who marriage is hanging by a thread was in no-show at court yesterday in the matter in which she is accusing Evidence Chihera of cyber bullying.

Evidence Chihera, whose real name is Moreblessing Evidence Jiri, appeared before Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti, who remanded the matter to August 28, for trial commencement.

By- There was drama at a lodge in Northend suburb in Bulawayo when an apparently sex-hungry man reportedly passed out during a sex romp with a sex worker.

The man, who sources identified as Allen Ncube from Kingsdale suburb and a Honda Fit pirate taxi driver, passed out while having a great time with a prostitute who was identified as Amara.

The near tragic incident happened on Saturday afternoon.

B-Metro learnt that Ncube, who is alleged to have taken one too many pills to boost his libido, suddenly collapsed and fell off a bed during the act.

According to a source, during the act, Ncube started feeling dizzy and suddenly passed out and fell off the bed.

“Out of panic, the prostitute dashed out of the room screaming at the top of her voice saying that the man she was having sex with has died. When one of the workers who was at the reception rushed to the room and rendered first aid, later concluded that the man who was also heavily sweating had just passed out,” said a source who preferred anonymity.

The source further said after a few minutes Ncube regained consciousness and two packets of sex pills were discovered in his trousers’ pocket.

“It was after he booked a room with the woman but ended up collapsing and becoming unconscious while in the act. The woman told us that the man started feeling dizzy while he was on top of her before he suddenly passed out and fell off the bed,” the worker said. B Metro

Extreme Heat

Sabbath School Summary

By Dr Elder Masimba Mavaza

Extreme Heat

Lesson 5
Memory Text: “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand” (Isaiah 53:10, NKJV).

INTRODUCTION

As the wife of the famous Christian writer C. S. Lewis was dying, Lewis wrote, “Not that I am (I think) in much danger of ceasing to believe in God. The real danger is of coming to believe such dreadful things about Him. The conclusion I dread is not ‘So there’s no God after all,’ but ‘So this is what God’s really like.’ ”—A Grief Observed (New York: HarperCollins Publishers, Inc., 1961), pp. 6, 7.

When things become really painful, some of us reject God completely. For others, like Lewis, there is the temptation to change our view of God and imagine all sorts of bad things about Him. The question is, Just how hot can it get? How much heat is God willing to risk putting His people through in order to bring about His ultimate purpose of shaping us into the “image of his Son” (Rom. 8:29, NIV)?

The Week at a Glance: Why do you think God is willing to risk being misunderstood by those He wants to know Him and love Him? How much do you think God is willing to be misunderstood in order to mold you into the “image of his Son”?
SABBATH: Where’s God in times of trials? Probing the whereabouts of God in times of pain is a very human response. When the wife of the famous writer, C.S. Lewis was dying, his real query was not; “so there’s no God after all,” but “so this is what God’s really like.” Our best views of God can change for the worst when tested. How much heat is God keen to risk putting us through to refine us? (Rom. 8:29).

SUNDAY: Often, God’s reason for our pain is masked for a time. Our call is to faith & not to know. Why will God abruptly ask Abraham to slay his only son & heir (Gen. 22)? If God knows everything, what’s the point of testing us? The test was not random but for Abraham to know the great sacrifice of His only Son on the Cross (PP, p. 147, 154). God did not desire for Isaac to die but just a test (John 8:56).

MONDAY: Just look at the extreme methods God can use to draw us back to Himself; Israel sinned & prostituted with other gods. God ask Hosea to remarry & show love to His wife, Gomer, a prostitute, who runs away & has children with other men (Hosea 1 & 2:1-12). We risk not knowing God is at work. It might have been hard for Israel to see God’s care in the test. We risk misunderstanding God in our tests.

TUESDAY: God calls Job to Satan’s attention in heaven while Job is oblivious about it on earth. It’s not God but Satan who causes Job to suffer (Job 1:6-2:10). But it’s clear that God is the One who allowed Satan. How can God be holy in this? Is this a special case or is how God also deals with us today? In our tests, we can be bitter about God or better with God. Job chose to hang on with God (Job 1:20, 21).

WEDNESDAY: Our test can feel like a death sentence. Paul was tested more than many men but he was not crushed. He survived & thrived through hope in God (2 Cor. 1:8, 9; 11:23-29; 1:3-11). The apostle says suffering can be a call to ministry. God wants us to comfort those who’re hurting. He first allows us to some extent get hurt. Then we offer practical testimonies (Heb. 4:15). God is mighty to save!

THURSDAY: Instead of questioning the existence & whereabouts of God in times of struggle on this sin-sick earth, why not wait to ask Him when we get to heaven? We’ll only grasp little about the extreme heat we face here. In heaven, we’ll know more (1 Cor. 4:5, 13:12). It’s easy to think of God as a bully but He cares even in our crucibles. His waters purge us & His fires refine us; Red Sea (Isa. 43:1-7, Ps. 23).

FRIDAY: “God has always tried His people in the furnace of affliction. It is in the heat of the furnace that the dross is removed from the true gold of the Christian Character.“ Jesus knows what’s needed to purify the precious metal to reflect the light of His love. He watches the test. He qualifies the called through tests. He shows them their own flaws & bid them to lean on Him. Day or night, trust God!

—Ellen G. White, “The Test of Faith,” pp. 145–155, in Patriarchs and Prophets; “Praise Ye the Lord,” pp. 315–319, in Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5.

Discussion Questions

? In class, have someone recount his or her own test of faith that, if not quite as intense as Abraham’s, was still hard enough. What can you learn from that person’s experience, from his or her successes or failures?

? Review the last 24 hours of Christ’s life before His crucifixion. What extremes did He face? How did He endure? What principles can we take from His example and apply for ourselves when we are in the midst of our own crucibles?

? Discuss the idea, touched on this week, about how through our own suffering we can minister to others who are suffering. No matter how true it might be, what are some of the problems we might encounter with this idea?

? Ellen G. White wrote above: “Let us trust Him in the darkness as well as in the day.” That’s easier said than done. How can we help each other develop the kind of faith that will enable us to do just that? Why is it important to trust God in the bad times?

Just In : ZEC Official Bashes CCC Member In Mvuma

Thusanani Oryx

Mvuma – Numerous Chirumanzu residents have raised red flag on ZEC official only identified as Dzimiri who recently assaulted a youth suspected of being a CCC member who wanted to register.

Mvuma area is a hot spot area for opposition as Zanu PF’s Mnangagwa and his wife are former MPs.

Sources said Dzimiri is becoming a headache to the entire district with her absurd behaviour.

“A case of assault was reported but ZR Police are still mum.

” People are now worried why no action has not been taken since the docket was opened but it seems as if officer in charge is trying to downplay the issue” said sources.

Zec Head office was also notified of Dzimiri’s unbecoming behaviour, but nothing was said.

Opposition members said they are now afraid to send youths to register.

“However, that will not deter us fr removing a regime that has seen people suffering through and through.

“Zec and ZRP must practise impartiality in matters like these” they fumed.

Impression of this is that Zec is a weapon of Zanu PF regime.

THE ruling Zanu-PF party has allegedly demanded that broke civil servants must contribute US$3 each towards the Heroes Day celebrations to be held early next month.

Nurses, teachers and other government workers, especially those working in rural areas are the biggest victims as they often fall prey to abuse by Zanu-PF politicians.

Civil servants told NewsDay that they were ordered to pay US$3 each by August 1.

“We are required to contribute towards Heroes’ celebrations to be held on August 8. Every civil servant contributes US$3… Due date is 1/8/22,” a notice seen by NewsDay, which was sent to civil servants, read.

Public Service minister Paul Mavima denied any government involvement, saying this was a scam.

“There is nothing like that in government. Heroes’ celebrations were allocated a budget by Treasury and we will be using that,” Mavima said in a telephone interview yesterday, adding that anyone who received such messages should report to the police.

However, some of the messages require civil servants to submit the contributions to their station heads. The contributions will then be paid to district or regional government departments.

Civil servants earn below US$200 monthly. Government workers who confided in NewsDay, said they could not afford the contributions, but were paying the US$3 in fear of victimisation.

“We had incidents of teachers being brutally attacked by Zanu-PF youths for being perceived to be pro-opposition in 2008, 2013 and even 2018. I will have to do whatever it takes to avoid this and so I will pay,” a teacher in Bikita said.

“I remember very well that some of us were asked to stop reporting for work until elections were over for our own safety because it’s not safe here,” a nurse in Chivi said.

Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Takavafira Zhou said the practice was rampant nationwide, especially in the rural areas.

“We have heard about these issues and as we have already said, this is not a forced thing, but voluntary and our members should never be forced to subscribe to Heroes Day celebrations. It’s happening nationwide; particularly at rural schools. As an association, we encourage our members to make formal reports to us. If that happens, then both the headmasters and line ministries must seek protection from the police and protect teachers from these politicians,” Zhou said.

ZBC Cuts Off Mafume For Exposing Pomona Looting

Tinashe Sambiri|CCC has slammed ZBC for “cutting off” Harare Mayor, Councillor Jacob Mafume.

Mafume was literally switched off the air by ZBC while making a presentation on the stinking Pomona scandal.

CCC has accused ZBC of depriving the public of the right to access information about Zanu PF’s looking spree.

“Dear
@ZBCNewsonline

Why did you cut off transmission during Mayor
@JMafume
’s address today?

Why are you afraid of citizens hearing the truth about Zanu PF’s looting? This is why we demand media reforms. This abuse of state institutions must fall.

We need new leaders,” CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere wrote on Twitter.

Mthuli Ncube Budget Review Total Disaster- Biti

Karoi Shop Owner Sentences 30 Days In Jail For Selling Counterfeit Chemicals

Labours Mahere

By A Correspondent| Karoi Farm Centre owner Labours Mahere has been fined $40 000 after he was caught red-handed making counterfeit agricultural chemicals.

In passing sentence, Karoi resident magistrate Godwills Mavenge said if Mahere fails to pay the $40 000 fine he was going to be jailed for 30 days.

Magistrate Mavenge said people like Mahere were a danger to society and said that strong deterrent measures will be taken if he repeats the same offence.

“People like Mahere are a danger to society and strong measures will be taken if he repeats the same offence. However, the court noted that he did not waste time by acknowledging his offence,” he said.

The chemicals that he was caught manufacturing were forfeited by the state.Mahere who runs Karoi Farm Centre was caught red handed by police on Sunday while making fake chemicals with another company’s logo called CP Chemicals Zimbabwe.

CP Chemicals is a major supplier of agro chemicals in Zimbabwe. We Importers and distributors of agro chemicals providing fumigation services to pre-shipment quarantine and grain.

Mahere was being charged under the trademark.Mahere has another court case in the high court where he is also being sued by Mhuri Farming Private Limited where he allegedly sold fake chemicals to the entity and the company incurred a US$150 000 loss after the seedlings failed to germinate.

A lawyer who is privy to the information said that Mahere allegedly sold a fake chemical with an Agricura logo. Tests done showed that the chemical was diluted.Investigations showed that farmers across Mashonaland West have fallen victim to Mahere’s shenanigans.

Elmon Moyo, an Agricultural Extension Officer in Kazangarare said that over the past years many farmers have fallen victim to the unscrupulous businessman.

“This solves the puzzle that has been troubling us as agricultural officers. For years, farmers who ostensibly buy chemicals from Karoi Farm Centre do not get the intended results. I also know a family that bought cattle chemicals from the institution and lost several of them without a proper explanation,” he said.

Agricultural minister Anxious Masuka said unscrupulous people were taking advantage of the lax laws to con farmers.

“I have heard some cases and the government is working hard to come up with strong deterrence measures for unscrupulous people who are milking farmers with fake inputs,” he said.

Rising Costs, Global Inflation Rates Impacts On Migrants’ Home Obligations

LONDON, 19 July 2022 – While rising costs of living have been globally observed, with inflation rates soaring to new highs in major economies, less-considered is the impact these costs have on migrants around the world who are often charged with financially supporting loved ones overseas.

WorldRemit, a leading digital remittances company, conducted a multi-country study to determine the effects of the increased cost of living on migrants in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. The company connected with 1,000 international remittance senders in each country, of which 20% are 1st-generation migrants living in these countries, with the remaining notably born in either the US, UK or Australia. Whilst there were minor differences, broadly speaking, 1st generation migrants’ views were aligned with those of the overall sample in our survey.

Since the beginning of the year, 78% of respondents agreed that their cost of living has increased, with the most impacted areas seen across utility costs (82%), transport (77%), daily living (84%), housing (64%) and healthcare expenses (54%).

Inflation affects both senders and receivers of remittances around the world.Respondents noted they directly feel the impact of rising costs of living, and also noted that their loved ones back home share the same sentiment.

Globally, the main reason people cited they send money to loved ones overseas is for day-to-day expenses (ie. food, transportation, clothing), accounting for more than half of all money sent overseas (53%), followed by one-off expenses, like travel (40%).

With increasing financial pressure, the ability to support unexpected expenses is likely to increase the pressure that remittance senders already feel supporting recurring, regular expenses. Despite this, the WorldBank still expects global remittance flows to increase by 4.2% throughout 2022 and reach $630 billion USD.

In a testament to their resilience, migrants around the world actively conserve daily spending in order to sustain their ability to send money home to support loved ones, reporting they eat out less (49%), save on day-to-day expenses (46%), limit social gatherings to save money (28%), and opt for public transportation rather than driving themselves (25%) since costs have begun to rise.

“Migrants’ resilience and commitment to their loved ones back home has proven to be vital, especially in a period where household expenses are increasing around the world,” said Jorge Godinez Reyes, Head of the Americas, WorldRemit. “This latest study proves that even during times of financial instability, many migrants are making conscious adjustments to their daily lives to maintain the regular flow of remittances to families and loved ones back home.”

As the world adjusts to increased global inflation, more than half (52%) of respondents agree that they now send money abroad to fewer people as a result of the increased cost of living, with 72% now only sending to close family. Additionally, 75% of respondents said the cost of living for those they send money to has also increased since the start of the year. What’s notable about the additional financial stress is that respondents also reported that across the key reasons they send for, the amount they’ve sent has often maintained or increased since they began feeling the impact of inflation.

Since the onset of higher inflation levels, 60% of Americans and 57% of Australians who send money for healthcare report increasing the amount sent, while only 36% of Britons reported an increase. For those who send for education, 83% of Americans, 81% of Australians, and 62% of Britons reported maintaining or increasing the amount sent. For those who support loved ones’ rent, mortgage or utility bills, 79% of Americans and Australians, and 69% of Britons reported maintaining or increasing the amount sent.

More than 244 million people worldwide are classified as migrants, with 14.4% in the United States, 9% in the UK, and nearly half of the population in Australia classified as migrants (48%). With global inflation showing no signs of slowing, financial preparation and planning is essential to ensuring migrants and their families can continue to make ends meet.

Deacon Marries Secret Girlfriend

THOU shalt not commit adultery!
This is one of the 10 commandments, cast in stone, that a senior deacon at Cardiff Assemblies of God Back to God UK has apparently decided to forsake.

The marriage ceremony

Family members told B-Metro that Thembani Nyathi (49), a Zimbabwean man of the cloth based in the UK, has turned his back on his marriage of more than 20 years to sample carnal delights with a Bulawayo woman.

Nyathi left his wife, Bongani Nyathi nee Ndlovu (42), singing hymns at the UK church with their four children aged 18, 16, 13 and three years old to secretly pay lobola for Petronella Lubelihle Ndebele (30) in Zimbabwe.

The holy book talks about the abomination of having sex outside marriage about 40 times.

Thembani appears to have ignored the repeated biblical warnings in the word he preaches as he has impregnated Ndebele and they have a child who was born in February this year.

Sources from his family said he paid the first batch of lobola last year and finished off this year in June.

He parted with 10 head of cattle.

Ndebele, who is a devout Seventh Day Adventist Church congregant in Bulawayo’s Pelandaba suburb branch, allegedly ignored numerous warnings about getting married to a man who was already married to another woman.

“Thembani’s wife even sent an impassioned plea to Ndebele’s father begging him to stop the marriage in February last year but her plea fell on deaf ears. Ndebele even had the audacity to send nude pictures to Thembani when she knew he was married. Thembani told his wife the affair was a mistake and it was over when they talked about it last year,” said a source who supplied B-Metro with evidence to support the claims.

Ndebele’s sisters, overjoyed at the payment of lobola, posted pictures of the lavish ceremony on social media.

Conscience may have kicked in as they quickly pulled them down, but not before other netizens had shared them.

“The whole thing stinks. Thembani and Bongani were married in 2000 under Chapter 37 (Now Chapter 5.11) which strictly forbids polygamy at the Brethren in Christ Church in Lobengula before they moved to UK. Besides, Thembani and Ndebele’s Christian values should be enough to deter them from fornication and adultery,” said a source close to the matter.

Contacted for comment, Ndebele sounded taken-aback.

“Who told you that? Do you want to publish? Keep my name out of it,” she said between long pauses.

Ndebele did not respond when asked several times if she knew Thembani was a married man.

Thembani, who is still in the country, ignored calls from B-Metro.

He blue-ticked a message that was sent to him on Wednesday last week, asking him for his side of the story.

His wife, Bongani, sounded shell- shocked.

“Who am I talking to? Who told you that? I cannot comment at the moment,” she said, before hanging up.

She sounded like she was hyperventilating. – state media

Police Finally Probe Chamisa Death Threats

By A Correspondent- Police have finally opened investigations into death threats issued by a Zanu-PF official to Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa.

This was after human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa wrote to the police demanding an investigation into Abton Mashayanyika’s threats to Chamisa and his family.

Mashayanyika, an apostolic sect leader, made the threats while addressing a Zanu-PF rally in Mberengwa, Midlands province, early this month.

In a letter dated July 27, 2022 responding to Mtetwa’s demand, Assistant Commissioner, one Mushoriwa of the police Criminal Investigation Department said investigations into the matter had started.

“The department acknowledges receipt of your letter dated July 25, 2022 in connection with the above matter. Investigations into the matter have been instituted and you will be advised of the outcome in due course,” Mushoriwa said.

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) also said it was investigating the matter.

“The ZHRC hereby confirms ongoing investigations on the matter. The Commission’s decision and or recommendations on the matter will be informed by the findings.” ZHRC deputy secretary Vengesai Eric Mukutiri said.

Mtetwa had appealed to the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission to encourage politics of tolerance and avoid a violent run-up to the 2023 elections.

Mashayanyika’s utterances triggered outrage amid calls for his arrest.

Dudula Gives Factories Ultimatum Over Illegal Immigrants

By A Correspondent- Members of Operation Dudula in Cape Town have given six factories in Witsand, outside Atlantis, seven days to fire illegal immigrants allegedly working in their businesses.

About 150 members of the group which is accused of xenophobia and Afrophobia in South Africa marched to factories on Wednesday.

They handed over a memorandum including a demand that the owners remove the immigrants as their employees.

The Operation Dudula members warned the businesses that if they failed to fire foreign nationals within the seven days, they will rope in the relevant law enforcement agencies or the Department of Home Affairs to enforce their immigration policy. Read the memorandum:

Our people are not working and they are unemployed, yet our factories are employing foreigners.

Small businesses in our communities are also owned by them; the rate of crime is high.

Operation Dudula member Nkululeko Watermayer said they wanted to “reclaim back jobs”.

PC Revalidation managing director Dale Lewis confirmed the visit adding that the group insisted that the company stops employing “illegal” immigrants. Said, Lewis:

They came to our business a few weeks ago, there were about ten of them. They gave us a letter insisting that we stop employing illegal immigrants and develop South African youth. I was horrified.

This time there were about 150 people, they gave our production manager about 50 CVs and another memorandum.

The Dudula leader group is horribly misinformed and should be embarrassed by their selection of our business for their protest. We do not employ illegal immigrants.

Of the approximately 42 staff we have, six foreign nationals we have all have papers allowing them legal employment in South Africa.

We only employ people living in the greater Atlantis, Mamre/Witsand area and the business is 80% black women-owned.

We promote learning and have had engineers completing their engineering diplomas by doing their in-service training in our business.

We believe this is the best we can do to develop South African youth within the financial constraints of our business.

The foreign nationals that we employ all live in and contribute to the community.

Lewis said the business reserved the right to employ anyone who is legally allowed to be employed in South Africa adding they will take legal action should any further attempts be made to intimidate their workers.

Zanu PF Insists On CCC Susan Mutami Push

By James Gwati- Zanu PF Director of Information Tafadzwa Mugwadi has insisted that CCC is using Susan Mutami to attack his party leader, Emerson Mnangagwa.

Mugwadi’s claims started when Mutami took to Twitter spaces last week and said she was abused by Mnangagwa when she was a minor.

Mugwadi tweeted back, accusing her of being hired by CCC leader Nelson Chamisa to attack Mnangagwa.

That was after Mutami last week said that Mnangagwa raped her when she was a minor.

Mugwadi went on to use vulgar language insulting Chamisa and was cautioned by Norton MP Temba Mliswa, who said his behaviour showed political immaturity.

Mutami said no one was using her to speak out gainst Mnangawa abuses.

CCC has also distanced itself from any relations with Susan Mutami.

Posting on Twitter Thursday responding to Mliswa, Mugwadi said he would not withdraw his utterances.

That was after Mutami last week said that Mnangagwa raped her when she was a minor.

Mutami on Monday intensified her claims and opened a rape again Mnangagwa in Australia.

Mthwakazi Rejects Census Results

Zimbabwean Man Stabs Girlfriend’s Lover

A Zimbabwean man has been arrested in the Free State for allegedly murdering a man who was believed to be his girlfriend’s lover.

It is easier for us to verify statistics using that information.

Moyo further alleged that ZIMSTAT deliberately suppressed Matabeleland figures to perpetuate the region’s underdevelopment and marginalisation.

Prof Mutambara Dismisses Gold Coin

1. By Prof AGO Mutambara @amutambara Here is how it works: You take your USD to the parallel market and get RTGS at say 1US Dollar to RTGS950.

2. You go and buy the gold coins in RTGS at 1USD to 441 (the gold coin exchange rate) and immediately make a profit of more than 100% That is the gold coin arbitrage opportunity Is this not common sense? It gets worse!

3.For the elites who are connected & have access, you dont have to involve your hard earned USD in the first part of the transaction You take your RTGS to the RBZ & buy the USD at the auction rate, say 320 You take these ill-gotten USD to the parallel market and buy RTGS at 950

4. That’s a profit of 200%. Then you go and buy your gold coins at 100% profit as explained before. So the potential benefit to the elites (the connected) is as follows: Start with 10 000 USD it becomes 30 0000 USD then it becomes 60 000 USD. From 10k USD to 60k USD.

5. WITH NO PRODUCTION. 500% PROFIT! This is quite a self enrichment scheme for the elites. Just to clarify: To get started the elite person takes their 10k USD to the parallel market and buy RTGS at 950 Then they go to the RBZ and buy USD at 320 (auction rate).

6. Then they go back to the parallel market and buy RTGS at 950 Then the go for the gold coins and pay in RTGS 10k USD to 60k USD. It is shameful.

Water Safety Skills

Today, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a call for people around the world to “do one thing” to prevent drowning.

As one of the leading causes of death globally for children and young people ages 1–24, and the third leading cause of injury-related deaths overall, drowning tragically claims more than 236 000 lives each year. To galvanize action and mark World Drowning Prevention Day, the Jet d’Eau in Geneva will be illuminated in blue this evening, accompanied by similar actions in other cities around the world.

––

More than 90% of drowning deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, with children under the age of 5 being at highest risk. These deaths are frequently linked to daily, routine activities, such as bathing, collecting water for domestic use, travelling over water on boats or ferries, and fishing. The impacts of seasonal or extreme weather events – including monsoons – are also a frequent cause of drowning and these impacts are largely preventable through a number of interventions.

“Every year, around the world, hundreds of thousands of people drown. Most of these deaths are preventable through evidence-based, low-cost solutions,” said WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. “Today, cities around the world are lighting up their monuments in blue light as a call to action for each of us to do our part to prevent drowning. Let’s put a stop to drowning.”

“Drowning is a global public health challenge, and at Bloomberg Philanthropies, we’re focused on implementing solutions to prevent it.

Today, we’re joining our partners around the world in recognizing World Drowning Prevention Day and taking action,” said Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg Philanthropies and WHO Global Ambassador for Noncommunicable Diseases and Injuries. “In many cases, we know what works to prevent drowning. We’ve developed tools and guidance to help governments implement solutions – and if we do more together, we really can save thousands of lives.”

WHO recommends 6 evidence-based measures to prevent drowning, including installing barriers controlling access to water; training bystanders in safe rescue and resuscitation; teaching school-aged children basic swimming and water safety skills; providing supervised day care for children; setting and enforcing safe boating, shipping and ferry regulations; and improving flood risk management.

This year, the theme of World Drowning Prevention Day invites the global community to “do one thing” to prevent drowning. Examples of actions that can be taken are as follows:

Individuals can share drowning prevention and water safety advice with their families, friends and colleagues, sign up for swimming or water safety lessons, or support local drowning prevention charities and groups.

Groups can host public events to share water safety information, launch water safety campaigns, or commit to developing or delivering new drowning prevention programmes using recommended best practice interventions.

Governments can develop or announce new drowning prevention policies, strategies, legislation or investment, convene multisectoral roundtables or parliamentary discussions on drowning burden and solutions, and introduce or commit to supporting drowning prevention programming domestically or internationally.
Many countries in the world have committed to drowning prevention programmes.

Bangladesh has started a 3-year program to reduce drowning among children throughout the country. As part of the program, the government will take over the 2 500 daycares established and funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies since 2012, and will expand the program by adding an additional 5 500 daycares to provide supervision to 200 000 children ages 1–5 years.

Mabaya Impresses Klopp

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has been impressed with how Isaac Mabaya has performed in this pre-season.

The Zimbabwean youngster is part of the Reds’ senior squad for pre-season camp and featured in Manchester United and Crystal Palace friendlies.

Klopp also handed the 17-year-old an hour of on-pitch minutes in Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly defeat by Red Bull Salzburg.

Speaking on the academy players’ performance in the pre-season, the Reds gaffer singled out Mabaya.

He told LiverpoolFC.com: “The young kids, the self-confidence they have at that young age, I think that’s a really good sign for the team as well.

“How the team let these boys grow next to them. Seventeen years old, Isaac [Mabaya], a little mic check! I couldn’t deal with that. So, really cool, cool moments the whole night.”

Reflecting on his performances Mabaya said the latest taste of pre-season action has given him the appetite to keep working hard for more opportunities at the club.

The young defender said: “Honestly, I loved it. I always love stepping out on the pitch for Liverpool, so I just want to keep getting my opportunities to do that [and] hopefully [I will] in the future.”

He added: “It’s been brilliant playing and training with some of the best players in the world. There’s a lot to learn from all the players.”

Born in Preston, England, to Zimbabwean parents, Mabaya signed his first professional contract with the Reds in September 2021.

The defender has represented England at junior level but is still eligible to switch allegiance to Zimbabwe in the future.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Why Zimbabwe’s De-Dollarization Route Flopped

By Victor Bhoroma| The Zimbabwean government has announced measures to promote the wider use of the domestic currency (The Zimbabwean Dollar) in a last-ditch effort to save it from the re-dollarization onslaught. Part of the measures now compel businesses and individuals to pay customs and import duties in local currency using the Interbank Rate which is based on the Willing Buyer Willing Seller (WBWS) model. This foreign exchange rate changes daily and this means that duty will be adjusted frequently. Currently, there are at least 5 exchange rates that prevail in the Zimbabwean economy with the central bank pegged Auction (Official) Rate at US$1: ZW$173.27, the central bank approved Interbank Rate (ZW$277.03), the Zimbabwean Dollar cash rate (ZW$360), the Parallel Market rate (ZW$430) and the electronic money rate used on card payments (ZW$450). Other exchange rates also apply on mobile money and exchanging foreign currency in local Foreign Currency Accounts (FCA) to hard currency. The disparities across these various exchange rates mean that the market has huge arbitrage opportunities on the pricing of various commodities and rice stability remains a dream.

Dedollarization Attempt
In February 2019, the government relaunched the Zimbabwean Dollar (monocurrency) and banned the use of multiple currencies through Statutory Instrument (SI) 142 of 2019. It only took 1 year for the government to reverse the ban with the promulgation of SI 85 of 2020 which allowed consumers to legally pay for goods and services using foreign currency. Other regulations (SI 185 of 2020) later followed to compel local businesses and persons to price their goods and services using the central bank determined foreign exchange rates. What followed afterwards was a rapid decline of the productivity because of a combination of factors coalesced around high inflation, exchange rate volatility and foreign currency shortages.
Economic output declined from 4% growth realized in 2018 to -6.5% recorded in 2019 and -6.2% according to official figures from treasury. Annual inflation raced from 57% in January to 521% recorded in December 2019. Tax revenues plummeted from US$5,237 billion collected in 2018 to US$2,691 billion collected in 2019. Inflation consumed household incomes, pension funds and corporate incomes with the latter partially resorting to retrenchments to stay afloat. The World Bank estimates that extreme poverty cases in Zimbabwe increased from 4.7 million in 2018 to 6.6 million people in 2019 and 7.9 million in 2020. COVID-19 and droughts exacerbated the poverty levels.

With skyrocketing inflation and devaluation of the domestic currency, the writing was always on the wall. The De-dollarization path went off rails soon after its launch due to absence of various economic fundamentals that support the stability of a fiat currency such as foreign reserves, low levels of inflation, market confidence, sustainable fiscal budget, and central bank monetary policy independence from political interference. There are various elements that destroyed confidence in the domestic currency and made de-dollarization an uphill task. These include:

Political will on De-Dollarization Plan
Apart from a leaked de-dollarization roadmap document, Zimbabwe did not implement a long-term plan (5–10-year policy) of how to de-dollarize the local economy. The plan should have included institutional reforms at the central bank to ensure autonomy from political interference and notable milestones on building foreign currency reserves, implementing a managed floating foreign exchange market, disinflation and monetary targeting framework, taxation in local currency, real fiscal consolidation (spending below tax revenues) and measures to promote the usage of the local currency. Apart from having the de-dollarization plan, the underlying denominator of every policy is political will to reform and implement the plan.

Lack of foreign reserves
According to World Bank Data, Zimbabwe had total reserves (Gold and foreign currency) of US$33.5 million in 2020. In 2018 (before the monocurrency was launched), the figure was estimated to be US$86.951 million. The figure has barely equated to 1 month import cover since 2019. World over, central banks use foreign currency reserves to support fiat currency values, maintain competitiveness on exports, remain liquid in case of foreign currency shortages, and provide confidence for investors and the market. They also need reserves to pay external debts, afford capital to fund sectors of the economy, and profit from diversified portfolios. To introduce Bond Notes in November 2015, Zimbabwe’s central bank pointed that the country had secured a facility of US$200 million in reserves to back the so-called export incentive. However, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) professed ignorance over the existence of the facility from the African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) which the Zimbabwean government claimed. To date, the central bank does not report the value of reserves it has despite it being a key mandate of the apex bank.

Fear of markets
To this day, the government does not trust the market in several economic sectors. A dual currency economy should allow smooth convertibility of currencies from a domestic currency to foreign currencies in the formal market. However, the central bank has not moved from a position where it wants to control the exchange rate to manage pricing in the economy. To do this, the apex bank has fixed foreign exchange prices on several occasions or manipulated the official rate. This is what has led to the collapse of the Auction system and feeds the alternative market.

Domestic money printing
Critical to de-dollarization is the reduction in money supply, monetary policy targeting and an end to quasi fiscal activities that have an impact of increasing pressure on foreign currency. In the last 3 years, broad money supply growth averaged 350% against declining economic output. This growth in money supply leads to a sustained pressure on foreign currency and devaluation of the domestic currency. This remains the elephant in the room and will continue to be.

Taxation in foreign currency
The first holes on de-dollarization path were poked by the government itself through levying licenses, taxes and permits in foreign currency. The government has been using the Finance Act of 2009 to collect taxes (Import duty, VAT, royalties, and payroll tax) in foreign currency especially from importers of selected luxury commodities, miners, tourism and hospitality and petroleum sector. The government justifies the foreign currency taxation on its own foreign currency needs, however the government must allow a free market price discovery for foreign currency so that government suppliers can equally switch from payments made in local currency to foreign currency if need be. Government suppliers would not demand foreign currency if there is exchange rate stability for the domestic currency. Additionally, it is the role of the central bank as the agent of the government to source foreign currency on the open market. Without levying taxes in the domestic currency, the government cannot impress market players that it has confidence in its own monetary policy.

Exemption of certain sectors
The de-dollarization plan hinged on creating a market driven foreign exchange market so that all transactions in the economy can be done in a domestic currency. This is a standard in most countries and a necessity to ensure a domestic currency is demanded for local transactions. The Zimbabwean government made several exemptions to various sectors to use foreign currency openly. These sectors included the petroleum sector where to this day fuel is sold exclusively in foreign currency. The government would not need to exempt any sector in the economy provided the foreign exchange market is market determined and there is control of money supply growth from the central bank.

Experiences from elsewhere
Forced de-dollarization has had limited success. Countries that tried to force de-dollarization experienced financial disintermediation and capital flight. Some chose to reverse their policies a few years later to counter the adverse economic consequences. Zimbabwe was neither the first country to fully dollarize, nor was it the first to attempt to de-dollarize. Countries such as Cambodia, Bolivia, Vietnam, Peru, El Salvador and Chile (among several others) have dollarized and tried to de-dollarize before. De-dollarization has never been successful as a policy but as a benefit to pragmatic economic reforms. Only a handful (Notably Israel, Poland, Vietnam, and Georgia) have managed to fully de-dollarize due to a combination of factors such as free market policies, domestic money supply and macroeconomic stability, and strong institutions. Success was underwritten by political will to reform and grant the central bank monetary policy independency.

It is critical to point that if the government avoids critical economic reforms, if there is no discipline in money supply and confidence in the monetary policy as is the case in Zimbabwe, de-dollarization will always be mission impossible. The market will choose foreign currency over a local currency any day. De-dollarization will never be a success if the government constantly interferes with monetary policy, dictates foreign exchange prices to the market and maintains a local currency as a tool to print whenever need arises.

Zanu PF Forces Villagers To Contribute R10 Towards ED Visit

Zanu-PF councillors and village heads in Mwenezi’s Maranda area in Masvingo are reportedly forcing villagers to contribute 10 rand each towards the purchase of a beast to give to President Emmerson Mnangagwa when he visits Mwenezi in the near future.

However, Zaka North MP Robson Mavenyengwa, who is also Masvingo provincial chairperson, said Mnangagwa was scheduled to visit Masvingo on July 10, but the visit was postponed.

But villagers from the Maranda area, ward 14 told Southern Eye that Zanu-PF councillors and some village heads have been collecting R10 from villagers claiming that Mnangagwa is set to visit Mwenezi West constituency.

A villager, who spoke on condition of anonymity, alleged that the Zanu-PF councillors were claiming that the money would be used to buy a cow ahead of Mnangagwa’s visit.

“The villages are resisting. The name of the councillor involved is Giri Gondo of ward 9 (Zanu-PF),” the villager said.

“He is the one who is instructing village heads to tell their subjects to pay R10 to fundraise for Mnangagwa’s visit during which he is reportedly going to address people in Mwenezi West constituency at Maranda business centre.”

Gondo, however, said he was not aware that Mnangagwa would be visiting Mwenezi West.

“At the moment we do not have such a programme and I am not yet aware of the date when the President would be coming,” Gondo said.

Mavenyengwa professed ignorance over the villagers’ contributions towards the purchase of the beast.

“He (President) was supposed to come to Masvingo on July 10, but it was postponed. He will not be coming soon. If he is coming, then he will be coming to Masvingo not Mwenezi. I will ask Gondo about that,” Mavenyengwa said.

Video Evidence Dismissed In Joana Mamombe, Cecelia Chimbiri Trial

A lawyer representing Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Joana Mamombe and Cecilia Chimbiri yesterday dismissed video evidence submitted by the State linking the duo to charges of faking abduction as embarrassing.

The State through its witness, officer-in-charge Cyber security laboratory Muvhuro Mhlanga, had submitted the video as evidence that the duo was captured at Chicken Inn, Belgravia at the time it was said to have been abducted.

However, the video produced in court did not show Mamombe and Chimbiri or their vehicle registration number. The witness was at pains to identify the people being shown on the video as they were not clear.

At one time prosecutor, Michael Reza asked Mhlanga to explain what he meant when he said there was a woman seen disembarking from the vehicle.

“You said you observed a woman wearing a hat?” Reza asked.

Mhlanga replied: “No Your Worship, I did not say a woman, but a person wearing a hat.”

Mhlanga was asked by Reza to identify the two women who appeared on the video.

Mhlanga said they were the Chicken Inn employees who are alleged to have seen Mamombe and Chimbiri.

Mamombe and Chimbiri’s lawyer Alec Muchadehama said the video produced in court had no link to his clients.

However, Chief Magistrate Faith Mushure accepted the videos as evidence, saying they should be tendered in court with Muchadehama given an opportunity to cross-examine the
witness.

In the morning, the State had tried to use another flash disk to play the video, but Muchadehama objected, saying the State should have given them the same for examination before it was produced in court.

Mushure postponed the trial to Friday next week.

Mamombe and Chimbiri were allegedly abducted by suspected State security agents, and dumped in rural Bindura after they had been abused.

Zimbabwe Has A Very Serious Problem That Threatens To Keep Dividing Us As A Nation

Zimbabwe has a very serious problem that threatens to keep dividing us as a nation.

That problem is intolerance by the ruling Zanu-PF party and a sizeable number of its supporters who rabidly and misguidedly believe that Zimbabwe belongs to them alone.

The party has become so bigoted about opposing views to its dogma that as we head for the 2023 elections, its hatred of all opposition is now bordering on xenophobia.

Some ruling party functionaries have declared that the party would set its dogs on the opposition and are prepared and ready to even murder the main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa simply because he is leading a movement against the ruling elite who have hijacked the nation for self-gain through corruption and looting of national resources.

And the cacophony of voices denigrating all opposition to Zanu-PF rule is growing, with a Chivhu councillor, Tafadzwa Mukandi, being the latest to declare: “If we see that you have gone against the ideologies of the party, we will definitely come for you. This party is the very party that enhanced the land reform programme to which you are beneficiaries. But when we see that you are working against the gains of the liberation struggle, we will not tolerate that and we will definitely come for you … Some people died for this country, yet you want us to tolerate sell-outs.”

This mindset is terrifying and one of the major reasons why many Zimbabweans, for example, decide to leave the country as they are not allowed to hold an opposing view to that of the ruling party, which has presided over a crumbling economy and is prepared to kill nationals and completely destroy the economy simply because it feels it is its right to do so.

What is so very disconcerting is the fact that the country’s police force appears utterly oblivious to the threat to peace, harmony and unity the utterances by those in Zanu-PF are posing. So much for the police’s mission to “maintain law and order, protect and secure the lives and property of the people”.

Maybe it is high time President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who has described those in the opposition as sell-outs, told us that Zimbabwe is not a multiparty democracy and all elections are just a façade.

The actions of his party simply show that Zimbabwe is not a democratic nation that believes in constitutionalism.

An open declaration by Mnangagwa that Zimbabwe is a one-party State would save us the headache of wasting our time and resources holding useless elections every five years and by-elections in-between.

We are saying this because the xenophobic attitude of the ruling party and its functionaries is forcing us to make this conclusion.

Would anyone be wrong or exaggerating that Zanu-PF is a dictatorship which has little respect for the country’s laws and its people?

The cap fits, and the ruling party must wear it.

Identity Of Midlands Hotel Car Park Corpse Revealed

By A Correspondent- Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has identified the body of a man who was found in a parked car at Midlands Hotel in Gweru city centre on Monday morning.

Police say the deceased is Denzel Trevor Ncube (26).

Ncube was found dead in a non-runner Mercedes Benz within Midlands Hotel premises on Monday and police have since arrested four suspects in connection with his death.

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Herald that Ncube’s relatives managed to positively identify the body.

He said police investigations were still going on, with the four murder suspects Nkosi Ncube, Terrence Sibanda, Washington Ngwenya and James Matola assisting with investigations.

Police Tuesday temporarily closed the hotel located in Gweru Central Business District (CBD) following the discovery of Ncube’s body.

Thousands Of Zanu PF Supporters Ordered To Vacate Harare Farm

Thousands of Zanu-PF supporters, who are living on a farm owned by Crest Breeders International, have been ordered to vacate the area to pave way for urban expansion.

The area is in Harare South constituency which is under Zanu-PF.

According to an eviction order signed by one FN Tapfuma, who is the Harare deputy messenger of court, the ruling party supporters have been given 48 hours to vacate the property after Langford Estates Farm approached the courts claiming ownership.

“Whereas in this action and on the court granted judgment in favour of the plaintiff against the defendant Crest Breeders International. For the ejectment of the said defendant and all those claiming occupation through it from a certain piece of land situated in the district of Salisbury being the remaining extent of Langford measuring 834 3479 hectares held under Deed of Transfer No. 2122/63,” the notice partly read.

The eviction is set to affect nearly 1 500 children who are enrolled at Crest Breeders Primary School including several Grade 7 pupils who are supposed to sit for their final examinations.

The learning institution has been used as a polling centre during elections.

The victims, who also include former Crest Breeders workers, have reportedly appealed to President Emmerson Mnangagwa to stop their imminent eviction.

The wrangle at Cresta Breeders International started in 2019 resulting in clashes that claimed the life of a Zanu-PF supporter in 2020, while several others sustained injuries.

The farm is reportedly also being eyed by land barons.

Crest Breeders, once the country’s largest supplier of day-old chicks, point-of-lay birds and table eggs, closed shop in 2013 leaving thousands of workers without terminal benefits.

Police posted on their Twitter page saying the incident occurred in the Belmont area between 22 and 25 July.

Read the statement:

ZRP Donnington is investigating a case of unlawful entry into premises and theft which occurred on an unknown date between 22 July and 25 July at a company along Wakefield Road, Belmont, Bulawayo.

Unknown suspects cut zinc roofing sheets and ceiling to gain entry into the company’s offices. Whilst inside, the suspects ransacked the offices and stole US$11 542, R 30 120 as well as $481 cash.

The police then appealed to members of the public who might have information that could assist in investigations to contact any nearest police station.

Mnangagwa Accused Of Running Govt On Threats

Mai Ruru| Lies and threats have now become the order of the day for the President Emmerson Mnangagwa-led government.

Since the inception of the new dispensation in 2017, Zimbabweans have been subjected to threats, lies and propaganda.

Not a day passes by without the issuance of threats, lies and propaganda by government.

The rate at which the current crop of ministers is surviving on lies is astonishing.

This will surely come back to haunt them one of these days. The list of ministers who have turned out to be pathetic liars and propagandist is endless.

Only last week, the Primary and Secondary Education ministry reported that 1 200 schools were built in Zimbabwe between 2017 and 2021.

There are 1 460 days in four years. It would mean that one school was opened every single day. Or that the government constructed an average of 25 schools every month. Is that possible?

One would expect the government to list the completed schools giving details such as their geographical location so that its story can be believable.

The Primary and Secondary Education ministry is not alone in all this, with Finance minister Mthuli Ncube, Information and Publicity minister Monica Mutsvangwa and Kazembe Kazembe of Home Affairs, among some of the new dispensation’s pathological liars.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor John Mangudya’s utterances on bond notes will remain a joke of the century.

For how long will Mnangagwa and his subordinates last, considering that people now know them in and out.

Recently, prices of basic commodities were hiked manifold and the government had the audacity to tell the nation that the business community was on a mission to remove it through wanton price increases.

No, comrades, that is not it. You are the biggest culprits. Stop hiding behind the finger.

ZEP Lawsuit Imminent For South Africa’s Home Affairs Department

By A Correspondent- South Africa’s Home Affairs Department is facing another lawsuit relating to the looming termination of the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP).

The ZEP is a special dispensation permit established more than 10 years ago that gives legal protection to an estimated 178 000 Zimbabwean nationals to live, work and study in South Africa.

However, the Cabinet decided in January 2022 that the arrangement must be terminated by December and that applicants should apply for a visa to remain in South Africa, based on a list of critical skills needed in the country.

In June, the Helen Suzman Foundation said it would be taking the government to court for discontinuing the permits.

Now, another organisation – the Zimbabwean Immigration Federation (ZIF) – is also taking the department to court,  News24 reports.

its papers filed at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, ZIF cited the Department of Home Affairs, President Cyril Ramaphosa, the South African Police Service, the South African National Defence Force, and the Border Management Authority.

Why is ZIF pushing this?

i). The application was aimed at preventing government departments from arresting or deporting ZEP holders once their permits expired at the end of the year.

ii). The organisation also wanted ZEP holders to be able to leave or enter the country legally if all their other travel documentation was in order.

iii). The ZIF wanted home affairs to review the decision not to extend the ZEP.

iv). The organisation also wanted the department to restart the review process for permits and, in the meantime, allow ZEP holders to remain in the country.

ZIF contends that:

1). The Department of Home Affairs has not taken the necessary steps to handle numerous applications by ZEP holders that will be lodged under the Refugees Act.

2). Members of the ZIF were victims of the Gukurahundi massacre who had been left homeless.

3). They were also worried that members of the LGBTQI community would face discrimination in Zimbabwe.

4). Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi erred in his decision to end the permits because he “failed to take into account relevant considerations in making the impugned decision”.

5). Motsoaledi’s approach to the withdrawal of the exemptions is reminiscent of the brutal international migration policy adopted by the Apartheid regime. They imposed harsh immigration controls and tight restrictions on Africans it considered undesirable.

6). ZEP termination would also lead to families being torn apart as most ZIF members didn’t qualify for alternative visas under the critical skills category.

7). Permit holders were also likely to lose their businesses and property, the court papers stated.
Home affairs spokesperson Siya Qoza said the department’s lawyers had filed a motion to oppose the ZIF court action.

Lawyers Stop Headmaster From Barring Unpaid Pupils From Registering For November Exams

By A Correspondent| Human rights lawyers have petitioned authorities at a Zimbabwean school seeking to stop them from disenfranchising pupils by not allowing them to register for their Grade Seven examinations owing to non-payment of registration fees guaranteed by government.

Tinashe Chinopfukutwa of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights on Tuesday 26 July 2022 gave a twenty-four hour ultimatum to the Headmaster of Mahombekombe Primary School only identified as Beretino to stop disenfranchising some pupils by arbitrarily withholding their Basic Education Assistance Module (BEAM) benefits by not allowing them to register for the November 2022 Grade Seven examinations scheduled for the end of the year.

Without giving any reasons, Beretino reportedly told parents and guardians that their children’s examination registration fees will not be paid through the government-backed BEAM programme.

Parents and guardians are expected to make payments at examination registration centres by Friday 29 July 2022.

In response to Beretino’s conduct, Chinopfukutwa on Tuesday 26 July 2022 served him with a letter demanding that he within twenty-four hours forward the list of names of all Grade Seven students, who are enrolled on the BEAM programme to Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC), for payment of their 2022 examination fees. Chinopfukutwa protested that the summary and arbitrary decision to withhold BEAM benefits to the pupils is unlawful, constitutes a breach of the learners’ right to “basic State-funded education”.

In addition, Beretino’s conduct, Chinopfukutwa said, amounts to treating the learners in an unfair and discriminatory manner based on the economic and social status of their disadvantaged parents and guardians.

This, the human rights lawyer said, is a breach of the affected learners’ right to equality and non-discrimination as set out in section 56 of the Constitution.

Chinopfukutwa also warned that Beretino’s conduct amounts to a breach of the affected learners’ right to administrative justice guaranteed in section 68 of the Constitution, which entitles them to be furnished with reasons in writing for the adverse administrative conduct which the school head has adopted against the learners.

Chinopfukutwa said Beretino’s failure to comply with the students’ parents and guardians’ demands will leave him with no choice but to institute legal action against the school head seeking an order to compel him to register the students so as to write their Grade Seven examinations.

Mnangagwa Rape Expose’ Relieves Susan Mutami

By-Susan Mutami says she is now a relieved person after speaking out on the abuses she endured at the hands of President Emerson Mnangagwa.

The Australian-based Zimbabwean health worker says she had lifted a massive burden by revealing her alleged sexual abuse by President Emmerson Mnangagwa when she was a minor.

Mutami said this in a statement Thursday.

Below is her full statement:

Beyond me reporting my rape case to the nearest Police Station in my country of Residence, this issue assumes a life of its own which compels me to allow due process to take its own course.

I have taken a huge burden off my shoulders by sharing publicly my ordeal and am very grateful for the empathy and sympathies coming from across the globe, your tears and messages of solidarity have been very consoling and I continue to appreciate your messages of encouragement to stand up to Executive abuse and abuse of the powerful.

I finally mastered my courage on behalf of the girl child and other grown females who may not gather similar courage to share their ordeals at the hands of the President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

I can’t censure anyone on social media from debating further, even countering my story on behalf of the powerful but I can assure you no one will stop me from completing the journey of seeking justice I have embarked on, neither the passage of time nor the powers that be in Zimbabwe, this is my story, my ordeal, my experience, and am the witness in the case of my abuser, the President of Zimbabwe. Beyond this let the law take its own course.

Pick-up Driver Killed By Passengers

By A Correspondent- A Harare man died after he was beaten to death following an incident of road rage along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.

The victim, identified as Simeon Norman, died after being ganged up on and beaten by at least 10 passengers from a pickup truck following a heated altercation.

The road rage incident and the subsequent death occurred in March 2022.

The police are only appealing for information 5 months later.

A statement released on Wednesday afternoon, National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:

Mliswa Defends Susan & Chamisa From Zanu PF Attacks

By James Gwati-Norton MP, Temba Mliswa has denounced Zanu PF information director Tafadzwa Mugwadi for attacking Susan Mutami and CCC leader Nelson Chamisa.

Mugwadi had posted on Twitter bashing Chamisa and accusing him of hiring Susan to attack President Mnangagwa.

Mliswa told Mugwadi that what he did shows political immaturity. He said:

This wasn’t necessary at all

@TafadzwaMugwadi

. You are a sharper young man, reared through

@YardscOfficial

and don’t have to go so low in seeking to besmirch political opponents. You should shun such.

Victory For Susan As Australia Acts On Mnangagwa Rape Report

By- Australia has started acting on Susan Mutami’s rape case against Zimbabwean President Emerson Mnangagwa.

Australia’s Queensland Police Service told ZimLive that it would refer the case to “international jurisdictions”,.

This means that the case will now be dealt with by the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).

This will escalate and internationalise the rape case that has sent shockwaves across the country.

Mnangagwa, 79, was accused of sexual assault by a now 33-year-old woman dating back to 2004 when she was a 15-year-old Form 3 pupil at Loreto High School in Silobela.

ZimLive reports that Australian police are bound to open the case and then refer it to Interpol for investigations that may rope in other jurisdictions which may be helpful in the process.

In response to an enquiry by ZimLive about Mutami’s report, Matt Adams, senior media and public affairs advisor (Queensland Police), said:

For confidentiality and privacy reasons, we are unable to provide any information other than to advise Queensland Police will liaise with, and refer any inquiries to international jurisdictions.

Interpol offers investigative support such as forensics, analysis, and assistance in locating fugitives around the world.

All Interpol’s actions are politically neutral and taken within the limits of the existing laws in different countries, in this case, Australia and Zimbabwe.

While Interpol deals with various crimes, including corruption, human and drug trafficking, organised crime, smuggling, cybercrime and terrorism, one of its major focuses is crimes against children, especially sexual abuse and exploitation, trafficking, forced labour and abduction. The organisation says in its mandate brief:

Sexual abuse and exploitation, trafficking, forced labour and abduction: these are just some of the dangers faced by children around the world today. At Interpol, we work to address those crimes that have an international dimension.

Meanwhile, George Charamba, the official spokesman for Mnangagwa, dismissed the rape allegations as “gossip.” He said Mnangagwa would not be commenting.

The scandal has cast a shadow over Mnangagwa’s bid to seek re-election as Zanu PF leader at a congress expected in October.

He fired his former deputy, Kembo Mohadi, after he was exposed for bedding his married aides.

Hooker Hires Robbers, Rob Army Client In The Act

By- A member of the Zimbabwe National Army has lost US$100 to thugs hired by a hooker; he had paid US$50 for a night stint.

Tafadzwa Mugombi was allegedly robbed by Daniel Banda (18) and Tinashe Mufamba (Age not given) of Old Railways Mucheke before he even got into bed but after paying Barbra Chekenyika (21) US$50 for the service.

Chekenyika and the two suspected robbers appeared this week before Masvingo Magistrate Ritaiswe Silaigwana facing theft charges.

Mugombi is stationed at 4.1 Infantry Battalion Masvingo.
The court heard that on July 23, 2022 at around 2 am the complainant paid Chekenyika for the services. Chekenyika noticed that Mugombi had a lot of money and she connived with Banda and Mufamba to steal from him.
The State told the court that Chekenyika entered her room to offer services to Mugombi. Banda and Mufamba were following close behind. Mufamba then declared that Chekenyika was his wife and the two suspects grabbed US$100 from the complainant and walked away. Mugombi pressed Chekenyika since he suspected her to be the mastermind of the robbery. He reported the matter at Chikato Police station leading the arrest of the trio.
Nothing was recovered.
Chekenyika denied the allegations and said Banda and Mufamba entered her bedroom and stole money from Mugombi. She further alleged that the two also stole her US$50 which she was paid by Mugombi.
Magistrate Silaigwana postponed the matter to August 15, 2022 for continuation of trial.

Nine Arrested For Robbing Mnangagwa’s Friend

By-Nine workers of a Harare businessman, and President Emerson Mnangagwa’s friend, Alex Elias Mashamhanda, have been arrested for stealing US$70 000.

The US$70 000 was stolen from his Highglen business entity in Harare.

Mashwede made headlines in November last year when he bought President Mnangagwa’s biography for US$755 000 and US$50 000 for the Zanu PF leader’s Scarf.

Of the nine arrested, four of them were arrested last week and have since appeared in court.

They are Daisy Chakauya (35), Aseni Masenda (26), Brighton Moyo (age not given) and Samantha Guzuzu (32) who appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs Yeukai Dzuda.

They were all released on $50 000 bail.
Sources close to the investigations said the the other five who were employed as cashiers at Mashwede Holdings in the Highglen area were arrested yesterday and will appear in court this afternoon.
Police also believe that the suspects could have stolen more than the US$70 000 and they are now waiting for an audit report to ascertain the exact figure that was stolen as investigations on the case continue.
However, it is alleged that on July 20, detectives received a tip off that the suspects had formed a criminal syndicate and were allegedly stealing from their employer, Mashwede Holdings.

The information was that after sales had been made, the suspects would write their daily sales and, instead of capturing all the transactions, they would steal part of the US dollar cash.
They would then inflate or credit the amount stolen to swipe transaction values.
Acting on the tip off, police managed to arrest Masenda, who implicated Chakauya, who then implicated the other suspects.
Upon arrest, Chakauya led the police to the recovery of US$11 460, 60 x 750ml bottles of Jameson Whisky, 84 x 750ml bottles of Jäegermeister which had been obtained by the stolen money.
Masenda also allegedly led police to the recovery of US$1 000 cash stolen from the employer and several second-hand clothes also purchased using the stolen money for resale.
It is further alleged that in order to cover up for the offence, Moyo who was the accountant, after receiving the falsified transactions, would then obtain his proceeds from either Chakauya who was the manager and Guzuzu who was a cashier.

Investigations revealed that this has been going on since December last year and so far over US$70 000 was stolen. Only US$14 000 was recovered.
This is not the first time Mashwede Holdings employees have been arrested for stealing from their employer.

Legendary Artist Hospitalised

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has advised stakeholders and practitioners in the cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) and the general public that NAMA legend Mr. Cont Mhlanga has been admitted to a health care facility in Bulawayo.

Cont Mdladla Mhlanga is a Zimbabwean playwright, actor and theatre director who also founded the Amakhosi Theatre Productions company in 1982.

Rodney Ruwende, National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, Communication and Marketing Manager says Mhlanga has been under constant and close medical supervision since Friday 22 July and is currently stable and responding well to treatment. In a statement published by Earground, Ruwende said:

The Mhlanga family is requesting members of the public to remain hopeful and keep him and the family in their prayers.

While, understandably, as international art and cultural icon Cont’s health condition raises a lot of interest, however, members of the public are encouraged to resist the temptation of raising unwarranted alarm over his health condition.

The Family spokesperson Miss Gcina Mhlanga, Fairtalk Communications and the NACZ will from now on be responsible for communicating any relevant information related to Mr. Mhlanga’s illness.

All other statements emanating from sources other than the ones mentioned above should not be regarded as the official position of the family or his close associates.

Meanwhile, the NACZ would like to urge players in the sector and the public to exercise restraint and desist from communicating private family matters on public platforms.

The NACZ implores practitioners not to abuse the social media space to communicate false and unverified information following the events of the past two days where players have been communicating about the health of NAMA legend Cont Mhlanga.

Members of the public should disregard any messages currently circulating on social media purporting to be representing his family and seeking financial assistance for his medical treatment.

The Mhlanga family is grateful for the words of encouragement and prayers and appreciates the love that has been shown by practitioners in the CCIs and members of the public during this period.

Cont Mhlanga established Amakhosi Cultural Center in 1982. The Center started off as a youth karate club and turned semi-professional in 1988. It created the first pilot center, the Amakhosi Performing Arts Workshop (APAW), which produced and toured with theater plays written and directed by Mhlanga.

In 1995 Amakhosi established the country’s first privately owned cultural center located within the boundaries of the townships, now popularly known as the Township Square Cultural Center. – Pindula News

ZIMSTAT Releases Census Results

The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) has announced that the country’s population has increased by two million – from 13 million to 15 million – over the past decade.

ZIMSTA on Tuesday released the preliminary results of the 2022 Population and Housing Census.

Nine Arrested Over Mnangagwa Ally US$70 000 Robbery

Hooker Hires Thugs To Rob Soldier Client

By- A member of the Zimbabwe National Army has been robbed of US$100 after paying US$50 for a night stint with a hooker.

Australia Investigates Mnangagwa Rape Case
