Chiwenga attacked Chamisa, saying he did not deserve to be in a leadership position.
He said Chamisa is cowardly and not ready to challenge the ruling Zanu PF seriously.
Chiwenga, a Zanu PF critic, said it would have been better if Job Sikhala was the opposition leader since he is ready to fight “to the drop of his blood” for his beliefs.
Chiwenga said if Chamisa were the one in prison, the party would have done a lot to get him out, which would trigger a revolution.

Breastfeeding Week 2022 Statement
As global crises continue to threaten the health and nutrition of millions of babies and children, the vital importance of breastfeeding as the best possible start in life is more critical than ever.
This World Breastfeeding Week, under its theme Step up for breastfeeding: Educate and Support, UNICEF and WHO are calling on governments to allocate increased resources to protect, promote and support breastfeeding policies and programmes, especially for the most vulnerable families living in emergency settings.
During emergencies, including those in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Yemen, the Horn of Africa, and the Sahel, breastfeeding guarantees a safe, nutritious and accessible food source for babies and young children. It offers a powerful line of defense against disease and all forms of child malnutrition, including wasting.
Breastfeeding also acts as a baby’s first vaccine, protecting them from common childhood illnesses.
Yet the emotional distress, physical exhaustion, lack of space and privacy, and poor sanitation experienced by mothers in emergency settings mean that many babies are missing out on the benefits of breastfeeding to help them survive.
Fewer than half of all newborn babies are breastfed in the first hour of life, leaving them more vulnerable to disease and death. And only 44% of infants are exclusively breastfed in the first 6 months of life, short of the World Health Assembly target of 50% by 2025.
Protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding is more important than ever, not just for protecting our planet as the ultimate natural, sustainable, first food system, but also for the survival, growth and development of millions of infants.
That is why UNICEF and WHO are calling on governments, donors, civil society and the private sector to step up efforts to:
prioritize investing in breastfeeding support policies and programmes, especially in fragile and food insecure contexts;
equip health and nutrition workers in facilities and communities with the skills they need to provide quality counselling and practical support to mothers to successfully breastfeed;
protect caregivers and health-care workers from the unethical marketing influence of the formula industry by fully adopting and implementing the International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes, including in humanitarian settings; and
implement family-friendly policies that provide mothers with the time, space and support they need to breastfeed.

DeMbare Overcome Bulawayo Chiefs
Dynamos beat Bulawayo Chiefs 2-0 in a Castle Lager Premiership Matchday 23 encounter at National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Glamour Boys cruised to victory, thanks to goals from Trevor Mavhunga and Evans Katema in either half.
The match had a tense start, with the hosts coming close to the goal as early as the first minute when Keith Murera’s header went inches wide.
Chiefs responded with a great inter-play in the following moments, but Hugh Chikosa blew his effort over.
However, the tempo slowed after the quarter hour, with neither side creating meaningful attacks.
Dynamos breathed life into the game at the other end when Godknows Murwira’s free-kick forced a save from Matripples Muleya in the 28th minute. Alex Orotomo followed up, and his effort went straight to the keeper.
Trevor Mavhunga got an opportunity and finally secured the breakthrough for Dembare after heading home Murirwa’s cross on the stroke of half-time.
Chiefs tried to make an early response in the second half with a couple of attacks, including Felix Moyo’s header that was parried away by the keeper in the 48th minute.
However, Dynamos stood their ground and later regrouped to ease the mounting pressure.
But the hosts only started making threats to the goal in the last quarter hour of the game, with Emmanuel Paga and Evans Katema both denied by Muleya in 1-v-1 situations.
Katema, nonetheless, managed to get himself on the scoresheet after netting scoring from the spot in the ninetieth minute.
Elsewhere, Highlanders played a goalless draw against Tenax CS, while Ngezi started the post-Benjani Mwaruwari era with a 2-0 victory over Triangle United.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Northern Region Division One Update
It was a mixed bag of results on match day 26 of the 2022 Ruyamuro Northern Region Division One —here is what transpired.
Herentals U-20 beat Karoi United 2-0 at Motor Action Sports Club, a result which saw them return to the summit of the table.
Jimmy Jamu’s brace was all that Paul Benza’s title-chasing side needed to collect maximum points. They are now on 54 points, one ahead of second-placed Simba Bhora.
Simba Bhora had Ronald Chitiyo to thank, after the former Zimbabwe international rescued a point for them with a brilliant solo effort, in the 1-1 draw with Golden Valley at Rimuka.
Chitiyo cancelled out Calvin Mapfutumare’s equally brilliant opener in the 12th minute as Arthur Tutani’s troops dropped points and consequently surrendered top spot to their title rivals Herentals U-20.
Third-placed Golden Eagles failed to take advantage of Simba Bhora dropping points when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chinhoyi Stars in Chinhoyi.
Gilbert Mushangazhike’s men had to level matters in the second half through Trevor Bhunu, after they had fallen behind in the 11th minute through Marshall Mupunha’s exquisite opener.
Trojan Stars began life under Webster Chingozi on a losing note as they were beaten 0-1 at home by Ngezi U-19.
Chingozi took over from Ralph Kaondera, who was sacked last week together with his assistant Clifford Sakala.
Elvis Mweha silenced the home crowd in the 74th minute and that goal was the difference between the two sides.
At Kuwadzana Stadium, Prince Mayembe’s solitary strike propelled resurgent PAM FC to a 1-0 victory over a battling Chegutu Pirates while CUMA Academy and Harare City Cubs played out a goalless draw in Kadoma.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Thousands Expected At Job Wiwa Sikhala Trial
“Surge the courts in solidarity with the incarcerated Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala and others on August 02”, CCC Namibia urges change champions!
29 July 2022
The unjust, illegal, unconstitutional, and satanic incarceration of innocent Zimbabwe Members of Parliament, Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala and The Nyatsime 12 should highten Citizens Coalition for Change(CCC) to internationalise the intolerable levels repression and gross abuse of state institutions by the corrupt regime. It is now imperative for change champions across the globe to amplify their voices demanding the unconditional release of the prisoners of conscience who were arrested a month ago. All these political prisoners are innocent because they are victims of a captured judiciary system which takes instructions from the Shake-Shake Building.
Namibia district motivates all genuine revolutionaries to flood the courts on the 02nd of August in solidarity with the wrongfully jailed champions of social democracy. The arbitrary arrest of Job Saro Sikhala Wiwa, Godfrey Sithole, Obert Masaraure and the Nyatsime is absolutely political. ZANUPF’s attempt to establish a One-party state should be resisted with equal measure. The illegal long pre-trial detention of our vibrant leadership is clear testament that only one party to exist and it is the dictator’s own party-ZANUPF.
Change proponents in Namibia are cognisant of the fact that a dictatorship completely disregards the universal basic human rights of individual citizens through laws, police, spying and force. ZANUPF’s dismal failure to implement separation of powers as enshrined in the supreme law of the motherland should be confronted with great success. The separation of the legislature, executive and judiciary limits the possibility of arbitrary excesses by the desperate government, since the sanction of all three branches are required for the making , executing , and administration of law.
Moreover, the vibrant Rundu Branch interim Secretary -General Dr Simbarashe Ndoda fumed at the incessant torture of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala and others who have spent close to two months in jail for demanding justice for Moreblessing Ali. He made it clear that dictators usually resort to selective application of the law to gain despotic political power, which they maintain the use of intimidation, terror, and the suppression of basic civil liberties. Social Democrats are urged to go in their astronomical numbers in solidarity with the victims of totalitarianism.
Furthermore, it has become a public secret that all opposition to the dictator is ruthlessly suppressed to deter change agents. Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala was arrested while doing his job as a lawyer representing the family of the gruesomely butchered Moreblessing Ali. This epitomises that the individual does not enjoy and liberty or rights under dictatorship. The charge of inciting public violence and obstruction of justice reflect that people are not allowed any liberty of speech , association and press. No criticism against the sadist can be tolerated by a blood thirsty dictators in ZANUPF.
In a nutshell, residents should go to court on the 02nd of August to demonstrate unity and strength of purpose in the national democratic revolution. Solidarity is a core value in constitutional democracy! Genuine revolutionaries must show ZANUPF a middle finger by visiting the courts in their numbers to reinvigorate and rejuvenate the fighting spirit of our imprisoned change champions. In the diaspora, concerned and responsible citizens should pent up their outrage at various embassies demanding the immediate release of the innocent cadres.
It is not a crime to demand justice in the motherland. The Nyatsime 12 are actually victims of arson but they are the ones who were jailed. The police must arrest ZANUPF Masimbi Masimbi who publicly incited public violence which resulted in all this havoc in Nyatsime. Abton Mashayanyika was seen on social advocating for the killing of the People’s President Advocate Nelson and his legion of supporters but he walking scot-free, this selective application of the law must be withstood with great determination.

Peyama Name Drops July Moyo In Corruption Scandal
By A Correspondent| A military intelligence report on land distribution and corruption has named controversial Zanu PF activist Wellington Peyama of extorting money from desperate land seekers using his closeness to Local government minister July Moyo.
In the report titled “who runs Harare land” authored by the MID for the central intelligence organization (CIO) and the police, Peyama is accused of name dropping Moyo’s name to grab cheap state land in Harare.
“Mr Peyama along with his associates claim to have links to Hon Minister Cde J Moyo and have been taking money ranging from USD $1000 to USD$10 000 per person for assistance to get state land. Some people are told to pay a deposit while others have paid full amounts with a hope that they will get the land,” reads part of the report.
“For example, one Cde Muskwe claims to have paid USD$4000 to Cde Peyama to facilitate a meeting with Cde JG Moyo. After paying the money, the meeting never materialised,” the report alleged.
Peyama is also accused of using his association with one Rodrick Mlauzi, a South African based Zanu PF member to hoodwink desperate land seekers about his links to minister Moyo.
“Mlauzi claims to be a relative of Moyo but in actual fact he is not related at all. They spend most of their time at Rainbow Hotel and this is where the money they would have extorted from people is spent at. Also they have two houses they rent in the city center in the Avenues area that they use as bases for meetings and debauchery”.
The report lists one Sibongile Mafu from Bulawayo who lost US$3500 to Peyama after being promised that he would assist her to get state land in Chitungwiza for a nominal fee.
Zanu PF uses state land to buy votes and the military is worried that if the corrupt practices are not nipped in the bud, land developers and genuine investors would lose a lot of money to fraudsters such as Peyama.
“Could your department investigate this matter and engage the minister and the said victims to bring this vice down. The minister must disassociate himself from such characters,” the report states.
Attempts to get a comment from Peyama were fruitless as he did not respond to questions sent to him while July Moyo denied seeing the MID report.
“Yes I know Peyama and Mlauzi but the report you are quoting is new to me, I will need to have sight of it before I can comment on,” Moyo said.

Free Medical Outreach Benefits Marondera Residents
By A Correspondent- Hundreds of residents in Marondera last week benefited from a free medical outreach that was rolled out across the town by the Adam Molai Foundation in conjunction with the Health and Child Care ministry.
Several Marondera residents have been failing to access quality healthcare services due to the prevailing economic crisis and the country’s dilapidating health care facilities.

Adam Molai Foundation chief executive officer Nomagugu Matibiri said: “The two-day programme went on well and we are now working on the next outreach. We were expecting to assist at least 200 people, but the numbers exceeded our expectation. We are now rolling out the programme quarterly to cater for more beneficiaries. The dream is to extend the outreach to other provinces.”
Those who benefited were from Cherutombo, Nyameni, Rusike, Ruvimbo and Yellow City suburbs, among other areas.
The team comprised medical doctors from Mahusekwa Hospital and two specialists.
The beneficiaries got free drugs among other services.

Ximex Money Changer Targeted More People
By- Ximex Mall money changer and dealer, Tafadzwa “Boss Pango” Murengwa, had planned a murderous rampage in which he wanted to kill as many members of his estranged girlfriend’s family as possible.
He accused them of hiding the deceased Samantha Dzapasi, 28, whom he was hunting down, with the intention to kill her.
Tafadzwa, 29, whose nickname emanated from the time he was dragged to court for trying to sell a pangolin, shot and killed Samantha on Friday.
He then committed suicide the following day after downing a poisonous substance.
It has since emerged that, in his moment of rage, he had planned to go on a killing spree.
H-Metro can reveal that:
He offered the late Samantha US$10 000 to drop assault charges she had filed against him.
lThe man he suspected of having an affair with Samantha, Clementine Muza, was also in the line of fire and could have been shot had he come across him.
Samantha’s family were also at risk as he was furious with them for allegedly shielding her from him and ‘lying’ about her whereabouts.
He was so obsessed with her that he allegedly paid some of her neighbours to spy on her and keep him updated about what she was doing.
In an interview over the phone, soon after shooting Samantha dead, Tafadzwa told H-Metro his estranged girlfriend had allegedly demanded US$20 000 to withdraw the physical and sexual abuse charges she had laid against him.
He took Samantha to a lodge in Borrowdale where he assaulted her after she decided to end their affair.
Samantha returned to her rented Waterfalls residence and reported Tafadzwa to the police for assault before going into hiding.
Tafadzwa hunted her down soon after being granted bail, in another case, and shot her in the head at the corner of Simon Mazorodze Road and Mashambanzou Road in Waterfalls, just a few metres away from her rented house.
She died on the spot.
He accused Samantha of bedding her married co-tenant Muza.
One of Samantha’s co-tenants, Eris Kaunda, told H-Metro Tafadzwa offered her US$50 to disclose her hiding place.
“He phoned me and offered me US$50 to persuade Samantha to see him.
“I refused his offer and he was furious with me such that he could have killed me as well.
“Handina kuziva kuti aida kundipa mari yeropa raSamantha, amuurayireiko nhai mwana wevaridzi?” she said while sobbing.
Tafadzwa narrated his reason for killing Samantha to H-Metro over the phone.
“I did what is not supposed to be done in our culture,” said Tafadzwa.
“I got frustrated and was devoid of hope since Samantha wanted to report me for interfering with her and her sisters over a case before the courts of law.
“I had physically assaulted her at a lodge after discovering her affair with Clementine Muza.
“The case was reported at Highlands Police Station and she threatened to lodge another report for visiting her at her place in Waterfalls.
“I did not want myself to be detained and also allow her to ditch me for a married man considering the amount of money I spent on her and the valuable watch and ring, among other things, that I bought for her.
“She refused my offer, demanding US$20 000, for her to drop the charges and I could not take that.
“She failed to consider how much I had spent on her in the past four years during our affair,” said Tafadzwa.
He urged H-Metro to record the conversation because his time was running out and he was inundated with calls.
Tafadzwa said he had made efforts to save his affair with Samantha by providing her parents with their needs.
“I visited Samantha’s mother in Gutu and gave her money as well as sufficient groceries.
“I also visited her father in Bindura, but she never took that into consideration.
“She wanted to apply for a peace order against me and that affected me a lot.
“I left court puzzled and confused and that is why I decided to splash US$1 300 in new notes on the street.
“Samantha had blocked all my contact numbers and I had been hunting for her.
“All her sisters and friends did not want to disclose her whereabouts,” he said.
Tafadzwa said he tricked one of Samantha’s workmates into phoning her by showing them something he claimed had been stolen from their workplace.
One workmate phoned Samantha and she disclosed that she was in Waterfalls and Tafadzwa drove there. He was furious with everyone at the house for lying “about not knowing Samantha’s whereabouts” each time he went there looking for her.

By- Radio DJ Samantha “MisRed” Musa has sarcastically responded to Susan Mutami’s claims that she stole expensive pants from the house she rented for the deputy mines minister Polite Kambamura.
Samantha responded in idioms and spoke on mental health issues, a subject she once touched on this year.
Australia based businesswoman Susan Mutami recently accused MisRed of stealing her belongings while she was still dating politician Polite Kambamura.
Mutami said Kambamura would bring MisRed and TV personality Rumbidzai Takawira at his house during the time they were dating.
The social influencer, who once opened up about suffering from depression, shared a tweet which encouraged people to speak out on mental health issues and also for people to support each other when one speaks out.
“Truth be told I don’t have thick skin. I am not sure who said it’s a prerequisite for the work I do but that’s how some end up having mental breakdowns,” she tweeted.
“I do not think it’s a weakness to say it, I just think being honest about it will help you figure out how to navigate it.
“I have just found a master way of creating boundaries that protect my heart as Samantha.
“I feel, deeply in fact. I pray we allow people to be honest about their mental capacity.
“We tend to push people to a breaking point most times unknowingly. Empathy and mindfulness of the next person is a dying practice.
“So many contributing factors, but this is my truth and honesty. I am at peace with my thoughts on the subject, that’s how I am navigating.”
Recently she also spoke on how she suffered depression and how that condition inspired her into writing a book.
“I love the fact that I managed to put everything about my life, things I faced, into a book,” she said in an interview on radio.

HYENA ATTACK: Family Struggles
The life of the Maroi couple of Zaka was turned upside down in one stroke. From a family that fended for itself to one that now survives on well-wishers.
The attack on family members by a cackle of hyenas on the night of July 18, 2022, saw Muchanyara Munodya losing both hands and her husband losing all fingers except two left middle fingers. Without hands, they can no longer work for themselves and their children.
They are desperate and appealing to well-wishers for assistance. Munodya and Robert Maroi are currently admitted at Masvingo Provincial Hospital. Well-wishers and churches can visit them in the female and male wards.
The Mirror visited the couple at the hospital, and Maroi could not speak.
The story is gorier for Munodya. The tragedy befell her just 18 days after she gave birth to her son Jayden Maroi. Now she can’t feed the baby on her own or feed herself.
What agonizes Munodya is that she is separated from the baby as the toddler is now being kept by relatives staying in Hillside Masvingo as she remains admitted at the hospital.
“I hear that my child is crying every time. I am shattered that I have become hapless. Even to drink water, someone has to assist me. I can’t even look after my newborn baby. Only yesterday it was a different story,” said Munodya.
She appealed to well-wishers for artificial hands.
“We have five children, and among them is a set of twins. Four of them are going to school, and they need fees. One is studying at Masvingo Poly. We depend on piece jobs to look after our children, and suddenly their world has collapsed on them. We are appealing to well-wishers to help in whatever way they can to alleviate our situation and that of the children,” said Munodya.
She said the hyenas pitched up at Mapfumo Village in Ward 32 under Chief Bota where they stay at around 10 pm.
Her husband woke up after hearing some noise outside. He said his wife had always warned him against confronting these hyenas because they suspected that they were connected to witchcraft.
“After a while, I heard someone screaming outside, and I realized that Maroi was not in bed. I rushed out, and that is when I got attacked by one of the hyenas. The hyenas were not just attacking us but were mauling away chunks of flesh from our bodies and feeding on us alive. I lost both hands.
“My father-in-law heard the noise and rushed to the scene, and he was also attacked and injured.

CCC Takes ZRP To Parliament
The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) says it will approach Parliament when it resumes sitting on August 16 over “systematic banning” of its rallies through unfair use of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (Mopa).
The law was used yesterday to bar its rally in Glen Norah, Harare, to celebrate the constituency MP Wellington Chikombo’s March 26 by-election win.
Mopa, which replaced the oppressive Public Order and Security Act, is also deemed tyrannical because its provisions require political parties and other organisations to notify the police in advance of any planned gatherings.
Civic society organisations and opposition political parties view the piece of legislation as aimed at stifling protests against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government, and bar meetings of opposition parties despite the Constitution allowing peaceful demonstrations.
While ruling Zanu PF gatherings have always been given the nod, opposition party and civic society gatherings have often been blocked.
Yesterday, heavily armed police were dispatched to Chembira Hall in Glen Norah to block Chikombo’s CCC victory celebrations. No CCC party member dared to come near the hall.
In a letter dated July 29, 2022 addressed to Chikombo, Officer Commanding Police Harare South District, one Chief Superintendent M Manjonjo said: “May you be advised that the notice to hold the by-election celebration party served on us does not comply with section 7(2) of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act [Chapter 11:23] and as such, the intended celebrations have not been sanctioned.”
CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba said the party would take the matter to the next parliamentary session, which resumes sitting on August 16.
“We are going to raise the matter in the next parliamentary session to find out whether there is a law for Zanu PF and another for CCC on banning gatherings. We are not going to sleep while we are seeing our rights to freedom of assembly being infringed,” Siziba said.
“As you are aware, we were supposed to have our rally, but police tried every means possible to bar us from holding our rally. We are exhausting every legal route to find a solution while at the same time we are approaching Parliament.”
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said political parties had not been meeting the provisions of Mopa when applying to hold rallies.
“It is the responsibility of a convener to notify the local regulating authority, who is the officer commanding a police district, of the intention to hold a rally in line with provisions of Mopa (Chapter 11:23),” Nyathi claimed.
“It is not just a case of notification; the convener has a responsibility to discuss and agree on the security and safety measures to be availed at the rally for the benefit of the public and the community in general.”
Ahead of the March by-elections, the CCC faced similar challenges when its rallies and other campaign activities in Binga, Kwekwe and Marondera were disrupted by the police and suspected Zanu PF activists.
Observers say the violence witnessed at some of the disrupted CCC rallies was a precursor to what will happen in the run-up to the 2023 polls where Mnangagwa is likely to face off with Chamisa again.
An Afrobarometer survey last month showed that 33% of respondents indicated that they would vote for Chamisa against Mnangagwa’s 30%.
In 2018, the 79-year-old ruler narrowly beat the CCC youthful leader, who was then the MDC Alliance candidate, in a disputed election.
Civic society group, Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition (CiZC) will also seek permission from the police to stage a demonstration over the worsening human rights abuses in the country on August 5.
CiCZ president Peter Mutasa told NewsDay that they have been summoned by police to discuss the demonstration.
“I can’t say police have banned our (demo) on August 5 over worsening human rights abuses because we are going to meet them tomorrow (today) and discuss the matter,” Mutasa said.
“We hope the meeting is going to be fruitful.”
CiZC brings together various civic groups, including women, farmers, war veterans, youths, students, residents, the academia and labour.- Newsday
Magistrate Jailed
A former Kwekwe resident magistrate and his Clerk of Court have been sentenced to a combined 24 months in prison after they were convicted of abuse of office.
Story Rushambwa (48), a former resident magistrate at Kwekwe magistrates court was arrested together with the Clerk of Court Bright Mpiyabo (45).
The pair appeared before Harare regional magistrate, Mr Taurai Manwere, who was presiding over the matter at the Gweru magistrates court. Mr Manwere sentenced Rushambwa to 15 months in prison and Mpiyabo to nine months.
Rushambwa and Mpiyabo pleaded not guilty but were convicted due to overwhelming evidence.
The two accused who facilitated the release of a stolen vehicle to controversial businessman Mr Shepherd Tundiya, were found guilty of abuse of office.
Rushambwa was dismissed from work by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) following a disciplinary hearing on June 1 last year.
It was the State case that sometime in October 2019, a Toyota Hilux vehicle was impounded by the police from John Mapurazi, a miner in Kwekwe.
The vehicle was taken as an exhibit after it was fraudulently imported into the country. Prosecutors said the vehicle was handed over to Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) for customs management.
The court proved that on December 27, 2019, Mapurazi made an ex parte application seeking the release of the vehicle. Rushambwa and Mpiyabo, the court heard hatched a plan to order the release of the motor vehicle to Mapurazi.
Mpiyabo deliberately withheld the record so that the matter could be presided over by Rushambwa despite the fact that Rushambwa was on leave.
The court proved that Mpiyabo then placed the record before Rushambwa well knowing he was on leave. Rushambwa presided over the application in the absence of Mapurazi who was now being represented by Tundiya who is not a legal practitioner.
The magistrate went on to grant the order for the release of the motor vehicle to Mapurazi showing favour to him. The former officer-in-charge of CID Gweru, Detective Inspector Leonard Gwandu was last year sentenced to three years in jail for the same case.
Meanwhile, Gokwe Provincial magistrate, Mr Musaiwona Shotgame has been suspended to pave way for investigations into allegations of incompetence and misconduct levelled against him.
The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) suspended Mr Shotgame for three months for allegedly flouting laid down court procedures and failure to competently discharge judicial function in a case of territorial boundary involving Chief Masuka and Chief Mutendi of Gokwe.
According to a suspension letter a copy of which is in the possession of the Chronicle and signed by Acting JSC Secretary, Mr Sithembinkosi Msipa on July 14, Mr Shotgame was suspended with effect from July 14, 2022 and will be entitled to half his gross salary per month until October 15.
Mr Shotgame reportedly committed acts of misconduct by summoning Chief Masuka to court via WhatsApp and later failing to treat the matter as an urgent matter.
“It has come to my attention that you may have committed acts of misconduct in that you received a complaint from Chief Mutendi who had been involved in an issue of territorial jurisdiction with Chief Masuka, particularly in the matter involving Graciano Shava,” read part of the letter.
The two chiefs have been involved in a longstanding battle whereupon Chief Mutendi was complaining that Chief Masuka had dealt with an issue that fell under his jurisdiction involving Shava and that he had handed down an incompetent judgment.
Pursuant to the complaint by Chief Mutendi, Mr Shotgame summoned Chief Masuka to court with a view of purportedly exercising his reviewing powers in Terms of Section 25 of the Customary Law and Local Government Act.
“It is further alleged that after concluding that the issue of territorial boundaries of the chief’s was reviewable, you unilaterally summoned Chief Masuka to court by way of a WhatsApp Message and thus not following the laid down procedures of the serving process,” reads the letter.
Further allegations are that Mr Shotgame called the parties unprocedural on the basis of urgency and did not determine the matter up to date yet urgent matters by their nature demand that they be heard and their decisions made on urgent basis.
“You failed to competently discharge your judicial function by reserving a judgment in an urgent matter for a period of close to two months. Based on the above, as a disciplinary authority, do hereby suspend you from service with effect from July 2022,” said Mr Msipa. — Midlands Bureau Chief, Michael Magoronga. – Chronicle

Key Facts About Hepatitis
World hepatitis day 2022 data
World Hepatitis Day
is observed each year on 28 July to raise awareness of viral hepatitis, which causes inflammation of the liver that leads to severe disease and liver cancer.
The world is currently facing a new outbreak of unexplained acute hepatitis infections affecting children. WHO, together with scientists and policymakers in affected countries, are working to understand the cause of this infection that does not appear to belong to any of the known 5 types of hepatitis viruses: A,B,C,D, and E.
This new outbreak brings focus on thousands of acute viral hepatitis infections that occur among children, adolescents and adults every year.
Most acute hepatitis infections cause mild disease and even go undetected. But in some cases, they can lead complications and be fatal. In 2019 alone, an estimated 78 000 deaths occurred worldwide due to complications of acute hepatitis A to E infections.
Global efforts prioritize the elimination of the hepatitis infections B, C and D infections. Unlike acute viral hepatitis, these 3 infections cause chronic hepatitis that lasts for several decades and culminate in over 1 million deaths per year from cirrhosis and liver cancer.
These 3 types of chronic hepatitis infections are responsible for over 95% of hepatitis deaths. While we have the guidance and tools to diagnose, treat, and prevent chronic viral hepatitis, these services are often out of reach of communities and are sometimes only available at centralized/specialized hospitals.
On World Hepatitis Day 2022, WHO is highlighting the need for bringing hepatitis care closer to the primary health facilities and communities so that people have better access to treatment and care, no matter what type of hepatitis they may have.
WHO aims to achieve hepatitis elimination by 2030. To get there, WHO calls on countries to achieve specific targets:
Reduce new infections of hepatitis B and C by 90%;
Reduce hepatitis related deaths from liver cirrhosis and cancer by 65%;
Ensure that at least 90% of people with hepatitis B and C virus are diagnosed; and
At least 80% of those eligible receive appropriate treatment.

War Veterans Resist Eviction
Sixty-eight (68) resettled families that have been evicted from Seaborough Farm in Umguza District have approached the High Court challenging their eviction from the farm.
The villagers, who are all veterans of the liberation struggle, were served with an eviction order by the Agriculture and Rural Development Authority (ARDA).
They, however, claim to have been resettled by the Government 20 years ago.
Mzingeli Dube and 67 others, through their lawyer Bruce Masamvu of Masamvu and Da Silva Gustavo Legal Practitioners, filed an urgent chamber application at the Bulawayo High Court citing Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Minister, Anxious Masuka, and ARDA as the first and second respondents respectively.
The applicants want an order that prohibits the respondents from evicting them from the farm as well as interfering with their peaceful possession of their pieces of land.
In his founding affidavit, Dube, who is representing all the applicants, said:
… The respondents have invaded our land, which we have occupied peacefully and undisturbed for over 20 years and have begun removing us from the land.
The respondents have started erecting boundary fences within our properties and forcing us to relocate to rocky and infertile land.
I submit that the first respondent resettled us on the land 20 years ago and assured us of having full occupation and guaranteed that the land was not to be leased out or gazetted.
Ever since that time, we have been in peaceful and undisturbed possession of our portions of land where we are involved in various farming activities until July 14, 2022, when the respondents ordered us to vacate the land.
… I implore this Honourable Court to intervene and prevent the respondents from further disturbances of our possession and occupation of the land.
I pray for a final relief with punitive costs against the respondents who clearly used their power and office to take the law into their own hands.

Accident Kills The Toughest Single Mum Ever
By Dr Masimba Mavaza | With the way life has become in Zimbabwe single parents bear the brunt. They have to do more to give their children a semblance of decency.
In fairness, the challenges of caring for kids alone are innumerable. But there are some hardships unique to the individual, and others that are universal for all single mothers.
Almost nine years ago Pretty Kavhiya Chiveso lost her husband to an accident. The husband who was an inspector in the police died in the freak accident while on duty in Bulawayo.
Pretty was left all alone with three toddlers to look after. Life became cruel so did some family members mostly on the husband’s side.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police was so caring and we really have to acknowledge the force for looking after their own’s family. She was allowed to stay in the Police accommodation and indeed this was helpful. But the funds from her work which the police gave her was not enough so she had to complement her salary with buying and selling. The most common life events that lead to single parenthood is death, this upsets more than just your marital status. They upset your financial balance, and leave one adult shouldering a load that is typically carried by two. Even if you’re a single adoptive parent and chose the challenge of going it alone, it’s still tough. Single moms often hang in limbo waiting for child support that never arrives or paying attorneys to pursue what should be paid. There always seems to be a little less in the checking account than what your kids need.
Pretty controlled her own decisions and got organised and intentional about how you handle her money to lessen the stress. Despite the absence of her husband Pretty realised What her children needed most her love which she had in abundance. Pretty Chiveso Lavished them with that, and lay down the guilt of not being able to give them every material thing they desire.
Still above the love she had to maintain their standard of living not to depart widely from how it happened to be while the father was still alive. She started crossing into Zambia to supplement her salary and keep her children in best schools possible. She became isolated.
Social Isolation is one of the single mothers struggles that’s more layered. Single mothers sometimes feel trapped underneath a mountain of responsibility that never allows them to invest in friendships, much less find another companion for life. Working single moms say the guilt of leaving the kids in the evening to do something just for yourself is crushing. Add to that the cost of hiring a sitter and getting out of the house for adult interaction seems almost impossible.
You need friendships and encouragement, so this isn’t a frivolous single mom struggle. This is the challenge Pretty had to face.
Besides social hardships, parenting is hard. There are lots of gray areas and the game changes daily as your children grow. For married parents, there’s at least another adult to talk things out with and to share the burden of making tough decisions. Pretty bore the weight of all of those tough calls alone—where to go to school, which friends are OK, or when a child is mature enough for a new privilege or responsibility. The emotional burden did wear Pretty down in a hurry.
Sometime Pretty will be so close to surrender. Sometimes she blamed herself.
Of all the single mom struggles, this one might be the hardest to fight against. Is there any end to the guilt a single parent feels? If you know that your decisions (some of which you may regret) contributed to your current family status, it’s especially present. There’s guilt about the financial things you can’t provide, guilt about the time you spend away from the kids, guilt about the things you just can’t do because of your situation. Regardless of how your children became the kids of a single parent, you worry daily about the effect that it’s having on them and feel responsible.
Fatigue wore Pretty down a lot.
Let’s face it: You’re doing alone what was designed to be a two-person job. The fact that you often feel physically, emotionally, and spiritually worn out is not just your imagination. But because your kids depend on you, you can’t afford to push yourself past a certain point. You must take care of yourself and your health in order to be there for them. But Pretty went one step too far.
On the 8th of July 2022 pretty set to go to Zambia to buy some goods for resale. She had to do it for her family.
Pretty got a lift from a Zambian truck driver. She never knew that was going to be her last trip to Zambia. She never even suspected that death was lurking in the shadows of hard work. That was a fateful trip and the one which took Pretty and all what she stood for.
Just after Koroi an area called Wafawafa the truck burst into a ball of fire.
Pretty died a painful death. The fire consumed her and all her documents no body knew what really happened.
A light which tore the darkness in lives of many was switched off.
Sorrow is an emotion of great sadness associated with loss or bereavement. Sorrow is sadness associated with some happenings from some disappointment that causes great unhappiness. The state of being sad. Feeling grief is the state Pretty plunged all of us. It is still unbelievable that she is no more. Crying could not ease the pain the heart tries to quench.
When a loved one or family member dies, feelings of sadness and sorrow can seem overwhelming. You recognize that having those feelings is natural but may feel as though you can only handle so much of it. You know you want to stop crying. You know you want your heart to heal, but healing isn’t an easy task. There is no treatment for your heart but Pretty. She is gone reduced to a hip of burnt flesh. She could not be recognised DNA testing had to be used. Pretty.
Bereavement And Grief can never be something we can get used to. In our hearts, we all know that death is a part of life. In fact, death gives meaning to our existence because it reminds us how precious life is. But death is never easy to accept.
The loss of a loved one is life’s most stressful event and causes a major emotional crisis. After the death of someone you love, you experience bereavement, which literally means “to be deprived by death.” The Chiveso and Kavhiya families are in great moaning their heroine has been taken away in the most cruel manner. One can not begin to imagine.
When a death takes place, you may experience a wide range of emotions, even when the death is expected. There is a feeling of an initial stage of numbness after first learning of a death.
Pretty has taken words from my mouth. Who knew that this would happen. This is more than painful.
Grief is a response to a loss, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, cultural, and philosophical dimensions. Grieving is intense sorrow caused by loss of a loved one, especially by death. Pretty has left everybody numb.
Bereavement refers to the state of loss, and grief is the reaction to loss.
Losing a loved one or family members is hard for many reasons. The Kavhiya and Chiveso families Of course, will miss Pretty since they were once a part of her reality, or her day-to-day routine. Now that she is gone, they have to adjust to a life without them. There may be things they can’t imagine doing without her,or places they can’t imagine going without Pretty. Her Children oh my God. They have to live alone now that she is gone. They may have to take care of business that they haven’t done or ever before, in some cases. To make matters even more complicated, not only that they are facing similar and many other practical life changes, but also finding themselves dealing with feelings of sadness and sorrow. It is not easy to cope after a loved one dies. You will mourn and grieve. Mourning is the natural process you go through to accept a major loss.
The wounds left by Pretty won’t seem to heal, this pain is just too real.
There’s just too much that time cannot erase, when I cry who will wipe away all of my tears,
When I scream, I’d fight away all of my fears. There were times the family would hold hand through all of these years.
But you still have all of me.
Pretty used to captivate those around her by her resonating light
Now, they are bound by the life left behind, life of mourning.
These wounds won’t seem to heal, this pain is just too real.

From Uncle Brutus to Pastor Charleston, South African actors who actually studied in Zimbabwe
Several actors across the globe have travelled abroad for better education. However, South Africa wasn’t spared from the mix. In the early 19s, some of our now celebrated soapie actors flocked to Zimbabwe for better education for various reasons, including Apartheid. Against this backdrop, we have all been wondering and trying to connect the dots on actors who ditched South African education for Zimbabwe. Well, let’s dive into South Africa’s actors who studied in Zimbabwe before their thrust into the limelight.
Themba Ndaba – Uncle Brutus on The Queen
Dupped as South Africa’s favourite Uncle, Themba Ndaba has fast become one of Mzansi’s finest regarding small screens. He is best known for his on-screen character in the Mzansi Magic drama series The Queen. He stars with some of the finest actors, like Connie Ferguson.
Despite doing his high school education in Swaziland at St Mark’s High school, he went on to further his education in Zimbabwe. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies from Harare Polytechnic. Of interest is the fact that he once worked in Zimbabwe before switching the floor to acting.
Chrispen Nyathi – Pastor Charleston on DeipCity
Dupped as the next big thing on South Africa’s small screen Chrispen Nyathi has since established himself as a celebrated actor. The famous Zimbabwean-born actor, who has since found South Africa as his new home, was born in Bulawayo and did his primary school in Zimbabwe.
He attended school at Madlambuzi and later matriculated with Devner High School. In 2019 he moved to South Africa to furnish his craze for acting. He is best known for his on-screen character as Paster Charleston. In 2021 he won the Viewers Choice Award as the best actor at the 2021 Royal Soapie Awards.
Sophie Lichaba – Queen Mororka on Generations
She made all sorts of headlines with her unmatched acting flair on Generations as Queen Moroka. It is a shocker that the bubbly actress completed her high school in Zimbabwe. In the wake of her completion, she even pursued a modelling career at an orphanage in Eastlea, Harare, Zimbabwe. This was the time in which South Africa was in the apartheid era.

Mnangagwa Reduces ZRP Cops To Vagrants
By Gift Ostallos Siziba
Our people have been humiliated and stripped of their dignity by this Zanupf government.
The regime is carefree and indifferent- it’s all about them and never about the present and the future.
They have villagized the military, and militarized the village.
Soldiers turned to robbers thanks to mismanagement of the economy.
Teachers have been a laughing stock and doctors getting a salary far below the Poverty Datum Line.
Graduates wake up at the blessing of an empty stomach and a jobless existence.
Pensioners queue long hours only to be given a middle finger by Mthuli Ncube’s worthless bond notes.
Students are failing to register because of privatization and commodification of education.
Only Mnangagwa, his family and a few parasitic are enjoying the fruits of our hard earned political independence.
Types Of Hepatitis
Reduce new infections of hepatitis B and C by 90%;
Reduce hepatitis related deaths from liver cirrhosis and cancer by 65%;
Ensure that at least 90% of people with hepatitis B and C virus are diagnosed; and
At least 80% of those eligible receive appropriate treatment.

Mutami’s High School Boyfriend Opens Up
By A Correspondent- Australian-based 33-year-old Zimbabwean woman Susan Mutami’s former boyfriend at Loreto Mission School has chronicled his experiences with the socialite during their high school days.
Mutami’s ex-boyfriend from Gweru is now based in Johannesburg, South Africa, running a haulage truck company.
The 34-year-old man, short and dark in complexion, spoke to The NewsHawks on condition of anonymity for fear of retribution and “for the sake of my peace.
He claimed that he dated Mutami in 2004 when she was in Form 3 until she completed her “O” Level. That is the year she said she was raped by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Said Mutami’s former boyfriend:
I first met Susan in 2004 when I was in Form 4; she was a stream behind us. We were in the same sports house group called Winter Halder.
She was a good 400 metres athlete and I was in the discus sporting discipline
he was very good in athletics — the 400 metres race — hence in 2003, we both reached provincial sports finals which were held at Chaplin High School in Gweru.
Mutami’s high school lover said her erratic behaviour when they were dating now makes sense since last week’s allegations of rape and sexual abuse by Mnangagwa. He said:
When we were going out, her behaviour was erratic. Sometimes she would become silent in the middle of a conversation like a person in deep thought and from nowhere she would start crying.
I could not understand her at the time; it was strange, but after these allegations, she has made against some people it now makes sense to me.
Again, towards the end of each school term when everyone was excited to be going home for the holidays, she would have a completely different mood marked with sadness and anxiety.
During those days, she would be very aggressive and we would break up often in our relationship.
Sometimes we would break up twice in a week and make amends later. Days before the school holidays were the most difficult in our relationship.
She at one time told me that we could not meet during holidays because she had a personal bodyguard who watched all her movements.
During those days Mutami also told me that during the holidays she would be very busy because there was a farm she would go to work at in order to raise school fees.
It did not make sense because our fees were so high that working at a farm for one month would not raise even a quarter of it.
The ex-boyfriend claimed that he once accidentally bumped into Mutami in Redcliff where Mnangagwa owns Redcliff Hotel.
He said:
When I met her (in Redcliff) she was so unsettled. She would look numerous times over her shoulder during the brief encounter.
Besides, her language at school was also crude and immoral as she would claim that, in terms of sex, she had ‘big boys’ who did the business on her.
She was living a double life. A happy life on her face, but inside you could feel that she was an emotional wreck and boiling.
Now that she has exploded, I really understand why and hope she may get better. She was also one person who would not forgive.
If you wronged her, the misunderstanding would not end. As for me, I had to deal with that by apologising a hundred times.
Last week, Mutami claimed she was raped by Mnangagwa and his ZANU PF ally Owen Ncube when she was 15 years old.
She also alleged that she stayed on Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm in Sherwood, Kwekwe, where she allegedly suffered abuse from him and his wife, First Lady Auxillia.
Susan Mutami Publicly Supports VP Chiwenga: It’s True Marry Poisoned Him
Norton MP, Temba Mliswa’s former lover Susan Mutami has spoken in support of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s cruel treatment of his estranged former wife, Marry.
Susan Mutami says Marry, truly conspired with accomplices to poison her ex husband Chiwenga so that she can inherit his wealth.
Mutami says this was revealed by her ex boyfriend, the late foreign affairs minister, Sibusiso Moyo who arranged for Chiwenga to be airlifted to China.
Last week, Mutami narrated allegations that she has a child with SB Moyo. The March 2022 claims are being used to buttress Mutami’s allegations
Mutami also alleges saying while Chiwenga was recovering in China, Marry was already spending his wealth in anticipation of his death.
Says Mutami in a March 2022 (this year) Twitter posting:

2019 Passports Processing Ongoing
By A Correspondent- The Civil Registry Department says it is currently processing the 2019 passport applications and aims to clear the backlog by September this year.
Registrar General Henry Machiri told ZBC News in Victoria Falls recently.
We are now working on the backlog. We are now doing the 2019 applications and we are hopeful that by September this backlog would have been cleared.
When we talk of 2019, it doesn’t mean that we have a backlog for 2020 and 2021. Those are the two years under the COVID-19 whereby we were not issuing passports, but we were just dealing with emergencies. Our passport backlog is the last half of 2019.
Zimbabwe missed deadlines previously set.
In October last year, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa told reporters during a post-Cabinet briefing in Harare that the government expected to have fully cleared the backlog by the end of 2021. She said:
The nation will recall that during its ninth meeting, Cabinet approved a strategy by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage to clear the country’s passport backlog that had accumulated to over 400 000 by August 2020.
It is pleasing to note that the backlog has since been reduced to the current 184 000. It is anticipated that the backlog would have been cleared by the end of December 2021.
In April last year, the Registrar General’s office has introduced night shifts as a strategy to clear the passport backlog which it attributed to the inadequacy of consumables required in the production of the travelling document.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe on 14 December 2021, launched an e-passport with improved security features to replace the old one. After the launch, members of the public were advised that the e-passport will be usable at all ports of entry and exit with effect from Monday, 7 February 2022.
Old non-biometric passports Zimbabwean passports will remain valid until they expire in December 2023.
Fake Drivers’ License “Manufacturer” Jailed
By A Correspondent- Convicted Zimbabwean foreign national, Zephania Zimunya, who was arrested a year ago for producing fake driving licenses was finally sentenced.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) reported that the man who operated from an internet café was sentenced to a year imprisonment after serving 11 months.
On an investigation conducted by NTACU and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), a Zimbabwean foreign national, Zephania Zimunya, was convicted for producing fraudulent South African driving licenses and foreign driving licenses from an internet café he was operating in his backyard in Hercules, Pretoria”.
This follows his arrest on 26 August 2021 when members of NTACU and DPCI conducted a joint undercover operation at the identified internet café with the intention of purchasing the alleged fraudulent documentation and to arrest the suspect.
“During the operation, two undercover agents posed as clients needing fraudulent driving licenses which they successfully purchased leading to the immediate arrest of the 48-year-old Zimbabwean male.
“He appeared in court and was sentenced to a year of imprisonment after being kept in custody for 11 months”.
RTMC also explained that the court further directed that he be deported on completion of his sentence as he was also an illegal immigrant.

Former Minister Trashes Mutami Rape Allegations
By A Correspondent- Former Environment and Tourism deputy minister Annastancia Ndlovu, who is now a full-time employee at Zanu-PF headquarters in the party’s directorate, has strongly denied reports that she was sexually abused by President Emmerson Mnangagwa while she was a minor in Midlands.
The sensational reports were made by Australian-based Zimbabwean citizen Susan Mutami on the micro-blogging social media site Twitter recently.
Mutami has filed a police report in Australia against Mnangagwa, whom she alleged raped her several times from the age of 15.
Tagging Mnangagwa’s official Twitter handle, Mutami said the country’s leader “used to sleep with Annastancia Ndovu, the late Melody Dziva when they were minors too. I knew Annastancia before she even became a child parliamentarian. It’s a clique of older men who abuse young vulnerable women in society under the pretext of providing assistance.”
Dziva, who became the youngest female Zanu-PF legislator at 28 in 2013 and died in 2020, was Midlands proportional representation Member of Parliament.
However, in an exclusive interview with The NewsHawks, Ndlovu, who was once an MP for Shurugwi, said Mutami was not her advocate and must only speak for herself.
“To start with, I was never a child parliamentarian as she alleges. I joined Zanu-PF while at Midlands State University when I was 19 years old, which means I was already an adult. I became an MP at 27. So her (Mutami) reports are utter nonsense. She must also let Dziva rest in peace,” Ndlovu said.
“We will not get our attention diverted by agents of the country’s detractors. Their attacks give us more inspiration to stay focused.
We keep our eyes on the ball. I know President Mnangagwa as a great and principled leader, father, teacher and a strict disciplinarian.”
Asked if she ever visited Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm in Sherwood, Kwekwe, where Mutami said some sexual abuses by the country’s leader took place, Ndlovu said:
“I only went there when there were Zanu-PF party programmes.”
On 19 November 2017, Ndlovu was among several other ministers and top Zanu-PF officials who were fired from the party for belonging to a faction known as G40 which sided with the late President Robert Mugabe just before the coup that finally toppled the long-time ruler.
The other ministers who were fired together with her are Jonathan Moyo (Higher and Tertiary Education), Saviour Kasukuwere (Local Government), Ignatius Chombo (Finance), Patrick Zhuwao (Public Services), Walter Mzembi (Foreign Affairs), Makhosini Hlongwane (Sports), and Samuel Undenge (Energy).
Paul Chimedza and Mandi Chimene, who were provincial ministers for Masvingo and Manicaland respectively, were also fired on the day.
Innocent Hamandishe, who held the Zanu-PF youth league national commissar’s post and Kudzanai Chipanga, the then youth league secretary, were also fired together with Ndlovu.
Other senior Zanu-PF officials who also joined the list of expulsions were Leticia Undenge,
Eunice Sandi-Moyo, the late Sarah Mahoka, Tongai Kasukuwere and Shadreck Mashayamombe.
However, while most of these officials are still under expulsion, Ndlovu is now a member of Zanu-PF working at party headquarters in Harare.
Ndlovu was re-admitted to Zanu-PF on 26 October 2018, barely a year after having been expelled from Zanu-PF.
She occupies the post of director for Economic Affairs at Zanu-PF headquarters where former Mines minister Obert Mpofu is overall head of such portfolios on the basis of his position as secretary for administration.
Ndlovu denied the assumption that the re-admission showed her closeness to Mnangagwa, which Mutami highlighted in her public spat.
“Am I the only one who was re-admitted?”
“We are working strongly behind President Mnangagwa under his stewardship, as we say ‘nyika inovakwa nevene vayo’ (the country is built by its owners) and we don’t want sideshows. Mutami must find other ways of seeking Australian citizenship. I have never met her and so how does she know me? Where did she see me when I was a minor?” Ndlovu asked.
Ndlovu has lately fared well in life.
She now sits as the director of Manna Ventures (Pvt) Ltd, a company with interests in mining, smart agriculture, image branding, public relations and brand repositioning, as well as investor promotion.
In addition, she is vice-president of the Affirmative Action Group (AAG), which is led by gold baron Scot Sakupwanya.
She is also the current international representative for southern Africa at the Leaders Without Borders Development Centre.
Before 2018, she served as vice-president of the World Federation of Democratic Youths based in Budapest, Hungary.
She has been the human resource specialist at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority based at the institution’s head office in Harare.
At the 2021 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Ndlovu won the Excellence in Diplomacy and International Affairs Award.

Susan Mutami Gives Mnangagwa Sleepless Nights
By-Susan Mutami has continued pushing for President Emerson Mnangagwa’s arrest for allegedly raping her.
Mutami posted on Twitter Sunday saying that the world should know that Mnangagwa was a rapist.
“Dear World, this is the man who raped me when I was a minor. Bloody rapist, pedophile of a president
. The girl child is not safe in Zimbabwe because of this man”, she posted.
Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba has denied the allegations, saying they were mere “rumour”.
Mnangagwa and Ncube have both not commented on the serious allegations.
Chamisa Rubbishes Partisan Police
By-The Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change said it was going ahead with its rally today despite the refusal by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to sanction the gathering.
Police on Friday said the party would not be allowed to go ahead with the rally in Glen Norah for allegedly failing to comply with provisions of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act.
CCC has since approached the High court challenging the ban.
Posting on Twitter, Ostallos Siziba the party’s deputy spokesperson, accused the police of selectively applying the law. He wrote:
We are in court to challenge the police’s unreasonable action to interfere with our freedom to assemble at a victory rally in Glenorah. We are not going to accept our country to have one law for Zanupf & another for the rest of the citizens. We will fight back & assert our rights.
In a letter to CCC ZRP’s M Majojo, Chief Superintendent Officer Commanding Harare South District said:
RE: NOTIFICATION TO HOLD A BY ELECTION CELEBRATION PARTY IN TERMS OF THE MAINTENANCE OF PEACE AND ORDER ACT [CHAPTER 11:231: CHEMBIRA COMMUNITY HALL. GLEN NORAH A. HARARE: 31 JULY 2022′ 1000-1600 HOURS
1. Reference is made to your letter dated the 210 of July 2022 in connection with the above subject. In the letter, you notified to hold a By-Election Celebration Party at Chembiro Community Hall. Glen Norah A. Harare on the 310 of July 2022 from 1000 hours to 1600 hours.
2. May you be advised that the notice to hold the By-Election Celebration Party served on us does not comply with the mandatory requirements of Section 7 (2) of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act [Chapter 11:231 and as such, the intended celebrations have not been sanctioned.
3. Accordingly referred please.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa and other Zanu PF bigwigs have been holding rallies across the country without any police interference.
Gift Ostallos Siziba told the Standard that they will be going ahead with the rally as planned. He said:
We are continuing with our preparations to host the rally where the party leadership is going to address.
We are leaving no stone unturned to win the 2023 elections.”
The Standard reports that ZRP spokesperson Paul Nyathi yesterday said he was not aware that the CCC rally had been banned.
In the runup to the 26 March by-elections, police blocked some CCC rallies citing a number of issues including manpower shortages and the absence of the venue.

By A Correspondent| Fresh details have revealed that the former Minister of State for Mashonaland Central Province Advocate Martin Dinha who is nursing wounds after being shot by robbers was allegedly in a love affair with late Ximex dealer girlfriend who was shot dead yesterday.
According to new shocking details, the National Railways of Zimbabwe board chairperson is believed to have been shot by a team linked to the jilted now dead Boss Pangolin who suspected that Dinha was seeing his girlfriend Samantha Dzapata.
Close sources have revealed that Dinha was seeing the now late girl who was a graduate from Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) and been in a three-year old relationship with Tafadzwa Murengwa aka Boss Pangolin.
“What happened is very sad to note that such two young lives will just go in such a tragic way, all in the name of a love relationship gone wrong, we know Boss Pangolin and his girlfriend from back the days at BUSE and they have been dating for close to 3 years now.
“This whole thing is a case of a mjolo gone wrong as we are told now that Dinha was the reason behind the collapse of these two lovebirds affair, his shooting in Greendale a few nights ago is related to the events which were happening between Boss Pango and his fiancé,” said a former BUSE student who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Dinha is not new to sex scandals as he has a record of preying on the BUSE female students where he politically hails from.
Murengwa died last night after drinking a poisonous chemical this was after he pumped three bullets in the body of his girlfriend along Simon Mazorodze road after accusing her of cheating with a married man.
The dealer, who operated at the Ximex Mall, caused a commotion in the capital after throwing United States dollar bills on the streets on Thursday with the video of the incident going viral.
Highlanders Release Ngodzo
Highlanders coach Baltermar Brito has explained the club’s decision to release midfielder Joel Ngodzo.
The 2019 Soccer Star of the Year joined Highlanders in April last year, after a short stint at Zambian Premier League side Buildcon.
Ngodzo failed to impress at Emagumeni even after the appointment of Brito two months ago, leading to his release early in the week.
Explaining the decision to part ways with the midfielder, the Brazilian gaffer told reporters on Thursday:
“We released him (Joel) because we don’t care about status, but performance.
“We felt he couldn’t fit what we requested for the position he took.
“We know his status is big, we don’t care about status but performance.
“We have people that we know and think can fit the request for the positions that they have.”
Brito added: “Maybe he can go to the other side and do well because he is not a bad player. It was only a technical decision.
“We looked at him and felt that he doesn’t have the details and background needed for that position, so maybe it’s better that he goes.”
Meanwhile, Ngodzo is set to rejoin Harare giants CAPS United.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe
Mthuli Budget Review Total Disaster
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC vice president Hon Tendai Biti has described Mthuli Ncube’s mid term budget review as a dog’s breakfast.
According to Hon Biti, the midterm budget review does not address real issues affecting the economy.
“The Minister of Finance has presented his 2022 mid term review budget statement .
It was painful to indulge in an hour of a pointless, tired monologue .An absolute damp squib.A huge opportunity was missed to address fundamental disequilibrium in the economy centered around …
..from US$60000 to US&40000 will also hit hard the informal sector .Big business is not spared .Corporates are now required to prepare two sets of accounts ,one for US$ and another for ZWL$ transactions. This a costly exercise confirming that we have become a Banana Republic.
In short this Review was a complete disaster . It betrayed the absence of a theoretical philosophical framework of its authors . It entrenched looting and arbitrage whilst unleashing cruel revenue measures . What a dog’s breakfast !!
There can never be reforms without reformers .Mthuli Ncube is no reformer. Instead his stewardship of the economy has been a complete disaster. In the name of surpluses he has run budget deficits well above 25% of GDP since 2018. He has presided over a most corrupt economy besieged by arbitrage & capture . The solution is simple , float the Zim$ ,expunge the auction&gold coin. Remove Export Surrender RequirementsPay civil servants in US$ ,fund the budget ,lower taxes ,reduce rate of interest ,resolve deficit & debt crises,Deal with corruption,” Hon Biti argued.

Mafume was literally switched off the air by ZBC while making a presentation on the stinking Pomona scandal.
CCC has accused ZBC of depriving the public of the right to access information about Zanu PF’s looking spree.
“Dear
@ZBCNewsonline
Why did you cut off transmission during Mayor
@JMafume

Why are you afraid of citizens hearing the truth about Zanu PF’s looting? This is why we demand media reforms. This abuse of state institutions must fall.

Zim Exports 491 Teachers to Rwanda
More than 491 Zimbabwean educators have been registered to undergo job interviews next week for possible recruitment by the Rwandan government under a worker-exchange agreement struck between Harare and Kigali last year.
The exercise is being jointly undertaken by the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare and Rwanda’s Ministry of Education.
In an interview, Public Service secretary Mr Simon Masanga confirmed the development.
He said Rwanda had requested more professionals from various fields.
“The recruitment is being conducted under the auspices of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Zimbabwe and Rwanda on the exchange of skilled personnel between the two countries,” said Mr Masanga.
“We are recruiting competent education personnel to be employed in Rwanda on job positions under four categories: basic education, basic TVET (technical and vocational education and training), polytechnic and universities.
“A recruitment manual was jointly agreed to facilitate the recruitment of educational personnel following a specified request for educational experts by the government of Rwanda.”
He said Zimbabwean professionals who met the requirements had submitted their credentials for consideration.
The minimum requirements for the educators is a bachelor’s degree and post graduate qualification.
“The successful candidates are expected to travel to Rwanda in September after undergoing pre-departure training by a team of experts from Zimbabwe and the Embassy of Rwanda to ensure adequate orientation and requisite information is imparted to the Zimbabwean nationals prior to their deployment,” he added.
“This ensures the candidates have the right information for integration and protection during their service in Rwanda.”
He said a total of 916 job applications have been received by the Ministry, with 491 being recommended for interviews.
“Online examinations for the shortlisted candidates are to be held on August 11 and 12 at examination centres in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Chinhoyi, Masvingo and Mutare.
“Rwanda experts will orient invigilators on the online exams on August 8.” -Sunday Mail

About Hepatitis Day
World hepatitis day 2022 data
Reduce new infections of hepatitis B and C by 90%;
Reduce hepatitis related deaths from liver cirrhosis and cancer by 65%;
Ensure that at least 90% of people with hepatitis B and C virus are diagnosed; and
At least 80% of those eligible receive appropriate treatment.

COVID-19 Update July 29

Villagers Climbing Trees To Make Phone Calls
By A Correspondent- Villagers in many districts in Matabeleland South province have appealed to telecommunications companies to install cellphone signal towers to improve network coverage in their areas.
According to the villagers, they sometimes have to climb trees to make calls.
Whenever there is need to make a call, we go up the mountain just to access the network and the question is ‘until when?'” Thandazani Ngwenya, a villager said.
Another villager Portia Ndlovu said poor network coverage had also affected learners.
“Schoolchildren are required to do task related education which requires one to have access to the internet, but in this case it’s unfortunate because there is no network. This also applies to those who are doing business. A transaction can’t be made because there is no network connection,” Ndlovu said.
According to villagers, there has been poor network coverage after the only signal tower developed a fault.
Ward 16 councillor Bekezela Moyo said service providers had promised to restore the network.
“We appeal to service providers to fix the booster (signal tower) or install a new one to restore the network,” Moyo said.
A villager, who identified himself as K Sibanda, said: “We are suffering. For the past six months we have been failing to communicate with our families. We really appeal to our service providers to help us.”
Meanwhile, villagers in Matobo North’s ward 18 have pooled resources to construct a school because learners were being forced to walk about 30 kilometres to neighbouring wards for lessons.
The school is named Nqindi Secondary School.
Villagers, diaspora community and other stakeholders including Matobo North legislator Edgar Moyo, who is also Primary and Secondary Education deputy minister, played different roles in fundraising for the construction of the school.
Fumugwe ward 18 councillor Weed Moyo said the school would benefit learners from Fumugwe, Mazhayimbe, Dewe, Halale and Gandavale villages.
“The school will mainly benefit the learners who travel long distances to Badza Secondary School, which already exhausts the learners before they even write the examinations,” Moyo said, further indicating that Constituency Development Funds were used to purchase 350 bags of cement, window and door frames and other building materials.
“Diaspora contributions also assisted in building the strongroom and the roofing is expensive, we are expecting to get about US$10 000 complementary funding from the ministry,” he added.
Nqindi School head Raven Takura, who sent an SOS for materials and financial resources for the construction of other classroom blocks, said: “The school currently has five teachers and three cottages but there is still a need for funding to construct other facilities such as laboratories.”

ZINASU Blasts UZ’s US$616 Accommodation Fees Hike
By A Correspondent- The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) has increased accommodation fees from ZWL$71 000 to US$616 or the equivalent in local currency for the 2022 second semester (August to December).
Accommodation fees for the semester that ended on 22 July were equivalent to US$350.
n a notice to students, UZ acting registrar Munyaradzi Madambi said the deadline for the payment of the accommodation fees for next semester is 31 July. Said Madambi:
Those who have been offered on-campus accommodation for the August-December semester are required to pay the accommodation fees amounting to US$616 or its ZWL interbank rate equivalent at the time of payment.
The university has, therefore, maintained the rate of accommodation fees at US$5,50 per day or its Zimbabwe dollar equivalent for a 112-day semester.
As you are aware, the university has now changed its accommodation allocation policy, giving students the opportunity to apply for accommodation for the subsequent semester at the end of each semester.
Those who do not take up their offers on or before the above-mentioned deadline will have their provisionally allocated rooms revoked and extended to other students on the waiting list.
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) president Benon Ncube bemoaned the accommodation fees hike. He said:
The accommodation fee hike is not justified because this is a government institution.
US$616 is too much considering that many parents who send their children to universities get paid in local currency.
These fee hikes remain the biggest problem hindering students from completing their studies.
As it stands, rentals off campus are ranging from US$70 to US$150 per head per month.
They have also gone up to the extent that most students would not be able to afford.
“Civil Servants’ 2 Day Job Action Flops Over Fear”
By A Correspondent- Unions representing civil servants have conceded that the majority of their members ignored the call to take part in the two-day national strike that was planned for Wednesday and Thursday.
In a statement, all the federations that organise in the Public Sector, namely FEUZ, FOZEU, NFOZ and PSA said most civil servants did not take part in the exercise due to various reasons. The reasons, according to the unions, include the following:
- Many indicated that they were docked part of their salaries pursuant to the incapacitation declared by education sector unions in February 2022. This instilled fear in some civil servants, with the result that some, despite the obvious incapacitation, still failed to exercise their constitutional rights to collective job action.
- Members who took part in the same incapacitation exercise were excluded from the 2022 Census and ZEC exercises. This reduced the number of participants in the exercise as some still hope to be included in future national programs purely for financial reasons.
- Membership bemoaned the little time accorded to them to be involved in the job action. There was little time for most people to activate their structures to participate in the two-day job action.
- Social media was awash with insinuations that those who would participate the industrial action are anti-government and this really intimidated members, especially those in political hotbeds away from the urban areas.
- In some sectors like education, some have continued to report for work based on the argument that they are marking mid-year examinations, and would still find their work waiting for them after two days.
- Others also survive from the lessons they hold in schools, and the snacks they sell to learners.
- For most in the rest of the civil service, they did not participate due to lack of the dense cover enjoyed in the education and health sectors. In some cases, there are very few civil servants and therefore many fear being easily identified to have taken part in action.
The unions warned that if the Government does not address their grievances, massive industrial action is imminent in September.
What are the civil servants’ demands?
- Immediate restoration of the value of our wages to pre-October 2018 levels, to be paid in USD and not in ZWL.
- An immediate halt to the wave of suspensions, summary dismissals, illegal disallowances and victimisation of teachers and nurses for exercising their constitutional right to organise and to a fair and reasonable wage.
- The payment of a medical allowance to all civil servants without discrimination.
- The employer should desist from bashing union leadership for exercising their representative roles as messengers of their voiceless membership.
- The employer should speedily implement all prior collective agreements fully, including but not limited to timeous school fees payment for the children of educators, regrading, sectoral allowances and performance advancement.
Fresh Details Emerge On Why Killer Harare Dealer Was Dumped By Ex- lover
By A Correspondent- A dealer at Ximex Mall in Harare central business district Boss Pangolin, whose real name is Tafadzwa Russel Murengwa, shot his ex-girlfriend dead on Friday.
The shooting incident occurred a day after Murengwa threw thousands of United States dollars through a window in central Harare.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) identified the deceased as 28-year-old Samantha Ruvimbo Dzapata of Waterfalls.
Dzapata, who worked in Beitbridge for the NGO, CeSHHAR had recently ended the four-year relationship.
Police said the shooting incident happened along Simon Mazorodze Road near Bathroom Boutique around 9 AM today.
In a 14-minute voice note recorded hours after the fatal shooting, Murengwa said he used to shower Samantha with expensive gifts while she indulged a married man in Beitbridge. He said:
We had issues with Samantha since January. I spoke to her mum and we started dating again after a few months.
The problems started again before we went to Victoria Falls for a holiday when she hung up on a video call from her lover. I confronted her but we went ahead with the trip after I forgave her.
We had another nasty fight after I realised she was still chatting with that guy and I hacked her phone. I confronted this man until Samantha decided to dump me for the guy.
Samantha dragged me to court and I was served with a peace order but I kept in touch with her and even bought her a car in Beitbridge just to show how much I loved her, while she was still seeing that man.
They both even told me to back off and I realised then that I had no chance. Today, I took Samantha’s belongings to her workplace.
I then went to Waterfalls where she was staying with her sister along Simon Mazorodze Road.
She started acting all funny, throwing stones around. I tried to reason with her until I became emotional and shot her while she was holding onto her sister.
In the same voice note, Murengwa apologised to his relatives and also outlined his plans.
He said:
I’m sorry to all the Murengwa family for what I did. Now I’m in Bindura to meet someone. I’ll be crossing the border and starting a new life.
Samantha said she was emotionally and physically abused by Murengwa for a long time, according to a screenshot of a message she sent to one of Murengwa’s friends.
The message contains a photo Samantha took showing a fresh wound just above her right eye and a swollen lip.
She told the person:
This is what your friend did to me when I told him that I am not able to settle with him because of his behaviour.
He abused me emotionally, he was controlling and manipulative. When I prayed I asked God for signs before I make any plans.
My spirit told me that he won’t change, and the marriage would be hell.
I decided to quit. So he attacked me in the face and head with the jack

Woman Makes It Out Of Hospital After Deathbed Cheating Confession
By A Correspondent- A woman from Gokwe South, who became seriously ill and thought she might die, confessed that she cheated and revealed that one of their children was not her husband’s.
The woman, Filda Mabhuku from Nyire Nyire Village under Chief Nemangwe, told her husband Robert Chiyangwa that the child in question was sired by his cousin Tinotenda Mpofu from Zvikwete.
Mabhuku confessed that she had been having a secret affair for some time with Tinotenda and he was the biological father of her third child.
She reportedly made the confession while she was in the hospital fighting for her life and thought she wouldn’t make it.
After the confession, Chiyangwa reportedly confronted his cousin who also confessed to having a relationship with Mabhuku.
Chiyangwa then approached Chief Nemangwe’s traditional court demanding six beasts from his cousin as compensation for impregnating his wife.
Chief Nemangwe confirmed the incident, saying when he summoned the parties, both Tinotenda and Mabhuku confessed they had a secret affair. Said the traditional leader:
When I asked Mabhuku why she decided to confess, she said she thought she was going to die.
On why she cheated on her husband, Mabhuku said it was because he was no longer active in bed hence she decided to approach his cousin so that he could quench her thirst.
Tinotenda, although he was not sure that the child was his, also confessed that he had a relationship with Mabhuku.
He said Mabhuku was the one who forced him into the relationship saying her husband was no longer satisfying her in bed.
Chief Nemangwe’s court ordered Tinotenda to pay five beasts to his cousin as compensation for impregnating his wife.

“We Are Back To The Zillions Era”
By A Correspondent- Marondera Urban Business Forum chairperson Emmanuel Danha has castigated treasury over its falure to come up with fresh innovative measures to curb inflation adding that the recently announced policy measures in the supplementary budget worsened the operating environment for SMEs.
Said Danha:
“While the supplementary budget was expected and normal in a hyperinflationary economy such as ours, we note with concern the absence of fresh innovative impetus in the form of some relief measures for the SME sector which we represent. It is unfortunate that despite coming from COVID-19-induced drawbacks, Treasury did not see it fit to give the sector some relief whether in tax or favourable loan terms.
All we have noted is the new measures to tax us in forex, yet few of us actually trade using same. This will definitely lead to company closures and a difficult operating environment for us.”
MDC Alliance Proportional Representation MP Paurina Mpariwa:
“We appreciate the initiative by the minister for coming to consult and deliver the mid-term budget so that is at least some kind of consolation because the budget is not sufficient to cover (demands) because of inflation.”
National Consumer Rights Association spokesperson Effie Ncube:
“With this budget, the government is choosing to bury its head in the sand and pretend unemployment, poverty, hunger, decay of education, road and healthcare infrastructure, shortage of foreign currency, inflation and price instability are not that bad.
The government is pretending as if it has a handle on the economy when it does not. The crisis will, therefore, only worsen.”
Bulawayo Central MP (CCC) Nicola Watson:
“We are back to the trillions and zillions of dollars. I doubt there will be growth without resolving the issues around inflation and currency values. Businesses are operating in a hostile environment.”
Wilson Makanyaire, from Hurungwe:
“This budget review projects no solution to the bread and butter issues affecting Zimbabweans. We were looking for solutions to the needs of struggling teachers, nurses, doctors and the security sector.
Ncube’s policy pronouncement are actually the opposite of the state of the economy. He appears to be living in his own fantasy world, that is why he speaks of a budget surplus.
But the surplus can only make sense when civil servants are able to afford basic commodities like decent accommodation, food, health, education, decent clothing etc.”

Zim Elections- Issues Or Personalities?
By Claris Madhuku- The recent election results for Chipinge and other wards and constituencies confirmed that for the last two decades, elections have been a contest between the major political parties and persons and ‘not so much about issues.
The trend from 2000 touted Robert Gabriel Mugabe and Morgan Richard Tsvangirai. This rivalry was transferred in 2018 to pit Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa with Nelson Chamisa. This is the likely and most probable trend in the 2023 elections.
Readers may need to understand that this voting pattern cannot be analysed as permanent though enduring for now. This observer, who is a native of Chipinge, interacts freely with opinion leaders, including those that are political beneficiaries.
I can at least explain that there is fatigue in continuing the binary politics of Mnangagwa and Chamisa(history and change), yet this is not reflected in the voting process( the paralysis of many social science scholars).
Worryingly, the political space has not been friendly for small and emerging parties. My memory will mention Zanu Ndonga, MDC Mutambara, MDC Mwonzora, Ngarivhume, Mangoma, NCA, PZ etc., for emphasis. The history of the minor parties is not without basis if we consider the impact of Simba Makoni and the Mavambo/Kusile project that brought in Professor Mutambara. Professor Arthur Mutambara had real tangible power of balance during the inclusive government( a discussion for another day). The third force in Zimbabwean politics may appear complicated, but it is necessary and achievable to achieve a natural multi-party democracy. The ZANU Ndonga effect in Chipinge is still a widespread feeling among the elderly. This elderly grouping trusts none of the two popular parties…
The by-election in ward 16, provided 230 voters who rejected both CCC and ZANU PF. This in my view, cannot be assessed as a small fit since this constituted nearly 9 per cent of votes counted.
During the campaign period for the by-election, as observed , the smaller parties (NCA and PZ) pulled significant crowds where pictures have been shared with the public.
The smaller parties may have been intimidated by the skills and stamina of seasoned bigger players on the finishing line, yet they are present with structures, some of them at the branch level.
As part of the analysis to be joined by others whom i will tag, the Zimbabwean political space is very tricky if the emotions of both analysts and voters are to be suspended.
Chipinge district has five constituencies ( East, West, South, Central and Musikavanhu). Since 2000 the constituencies have been changing allegiance between the main political parties.
None of the 5 serve for Chipinge Central can certainly be obvious.
As it stands, the wards and the constituencies in Chipinge are very much wide to the two major political parties, with a surprise if any of the small parties are consistently hardworking.

Chamisa Confronts ZEC Over Election Rigging
By-The opposition CCC has written to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) requesting dialogue on the need to address electoral malpractices.
In a letter dated 27 July 2022, addressed to ZEC chief elections officer Uitloile Silaigwana, CCC secretary for elections Ian Makone accused ZEC of ignoring Zanu PF’s alleged rigging tactics such as vote buying, bussing of voters and intimidation of voters in the recent by-elections. The letter reads in part:
Be that as it may, CCC has drafted the attached document citing instances where ZEC through its direct and indirect conduct created election process vulnerabilities that consequently presents/present opportunities for election manipulation.
CCC looks forward to your response on this matter and on the proposed dialogue process to address the stated concerns.
CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere told NewsDay that the party will pursue various remedies to ensure that ZEC addresses its concerns. She said:
The secretariat of ZEC is militarised and partisan. It continues to take orders from the ‘powers that be’ instead of being independent.
Stakeholders are not being consulted sufficiently and the CCC is being excluded from the few consultations that took place. The electoral law needs to be aligned with the Constitution.
State media remains partial to Zanu PF. Political violence takes place with impunity.
There has been no transparency on the census and delimitation processes. Voter education is highly ineffective.
These issues need to be addressed to ensure we do not have another disputed election.

Ximex Money Shower & Lover Killer Commits Suicide
By-The Harare Ximex Mall dealer, Tafadzwa Murengwa, has committed suicide after killing his lover.
The money changer, also known as Boss Pangolin Friday morning, shot and killed his girlfriend along Simon Mazorodze Road after accusing her of cheating him with a married man.
Murengwa was found in Harare just after midnight today locked in his vehicle after drinking an unknown poisonous substance.
Police sources close to the investigations have confirmed this morning that detectives tracked him to a house in Chishawasha where he had sought refuge and found him unconscious in the vehicle before taking him to Parirenyatwa Hospital where he died upon admission.
Murengwa
The incident came after on Thursday afternoon, Murengwa splashed United States dollar cash in the streets to people who were near the Ximex area.
Murengwa
In a video circulating on social media, there was commotion in the city when Murengwa splashed US dollar notes in the streets while driving an unregistered Toyota Aqua vehicle before driving off.
Investigations have revealed that Murengwa of Glen Lorne visited the area a few minutes after he was granted bail at the Harare Magistrates Court following his arrest on Wednesday for assaulting his girlfriend and the now deceased, Samantha Dzapata (28) of Waterfalls.
He was facing charges of domestic violence and threats of violence but was released out of custody on bail.
One of his close friends said, following his release, Murengwa also told Samantha that he wanted to kill her.

Inflation Confuses Mthuli
By-CCC deputy President Tendai Biti said that Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s 2022 mid-term review and budget statement showed that inflation was rearing its head.
Biti, who is also a former Treasurer Boss, said Mthuli failed to address fundamental challenges bedevilling the economy.
Posting on Twitter, Biti, who is CCC deputy president and Member of Parliament for Harare East, said that the fact that broad money grew by 245% by May 2022 shows that the government is failing to live within its means and is resorting to money printing. Biti wrote:
The Minister of Finance has presented his 2022 mid-term review & budget statement. It was painful to indulge in an hour of a pointless, tired monologue. An absolute damp squib.
A huge opportunity was missed to address fundamental disequilibrium in the economy centred around 7 key issues that are 1) hyperinflation 2) exchange rate collapse 3) collapse in public sector wages 4) collapse of the social sector 5) low output 6) deficit financing & the national debt 7) tax reform.
Sadly the government missed a glorious opportunity of addressing key issues. Failing to address the key challenges of the day was a cowardly criminal omission that in any event has been the hallmark of Mthuli’s tenure.
To compound matters, Mthuli then proceeded to make shocking announcements on a supplementary budget & some tax increases.
The 2022 Budget was a ZWL$850 billion budget, but a ZWL$1.9 trillion budget is now being proposed.
Effectively Mthuli is proposing a brand new 2022 budget of 120% more than the original budget. This is sheer insanity driven by money creation & an overzealous fiscal policy.
They are failing to live within their means & are now resorting to money printing. A fact confirmed by Mthuli’s admission that broad money grew by 245% by May 2022.
That domestic debt is now ZWL$1.3 trillion is further proof of the existence of a profligate irresponsible regime.
Collapsed public sector wages needed to be dealt with decisively & anything short of a US$ wage won’t work.
The proposed increase of the tax-free threshold to ZWL$600 000 when the exchange rate is now above 1:1000 is an insult.
Perhaps most shocking are Mthuli’s tax measures which he was too embarrassed to read out. The cruellest is the increase to 30% of withholding tax on cross-border traders without a tax clearance certificate.
This will hurt 60% of the population in the informal economy. The reduction of the Value Added Tax threshold from US$60000 to US$40000 will also hit hard the informal sector.
Big business is not spared. Corporates are now required to prepare two sets of accounts, one for US$ and another for ZWL$ transactions. This is a costly exercise confirming that we have become a Banana Republic.
In short, this Review was a complete disaster. It betrayed the absence of a theoretical philosophical framework of its authors. It entrenched looting and arbitrage whilst unleashing cruel revenue measures. What a dog’s breakfast!
BREAKING: Ximex Mall Dealer Pronounced Dead 24hrs After Killing Lover
Mai Titi Runs Away From Evidence Chihera
By -Socialite and comedian Felistas “Mai TT” Murata who marriage is hanging by a thread, was in no-show at court yesterday in the matter in which she is accusing Evidence Chihera of cyber bullying.
Evidence Chihera, whose real name is Moreblessing Evidence Jiri, appeared before Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti, who remanded the matter to August 28, for trial commencement.
The court heard that Jiri runs a Facebook page by the name Evidence Chihera and, on June 1, she allegedly posted a live video of herself saying Mai TT’s children were raped by an insane person she lives with.
The State alleges that the Evidence Chihera’s page is accessible to everyone who logs into Facebook.
It is the State’s case that the live video footage was done with intent to harass, bully or cause substantial emotional distress, to degrade, humiliate and demean Murata.
The matter came to light when Murata saw the live video on Facebook and reported the case to the police, leading to Jiri’s arrest.
Thomas Chanakira appeared for the State.

Chamisa Demands Meeting With ZEC Over Electoral Malpractices
THE Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has written to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) demanding dialogue on the need to address alleged electoral malpractices ahead of the 2023 polls.
The opposition party accused Zec of turning a blind eye to Zanu PF’s alleged rigging tactics such as vote buying, bussing of voters and intimidation of voters in the recent by-elections.
In a letter dated July 27, 2022, addressed to Zec chief elections officer Uitloile Silaigwana, CCC secretary for elections Ian Makone accused the electoral management body of enhancing manipulation of the electoral processes by Zanu PF.
“Be that as it may, CCC has drafted the attached document citing instances where Zec through its direct and indirect conduct created election process vulnerabilities that consequently presents/present opportunities for election manipulation,” Makone said.
“CCC looks forward to your response on this matter and on the proposed dialogue process to address the stated concerns.”
CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere told NewsDay Weekender that the party would pursue various remedies, including litigation to compel Zec to address its concerns.
“The secretariat of Zec is militarised and partisan. It continues to take orders from the ‘powers that be’ instead of being independent,” Mahere said.
“Stakeholders are not being consulted sufficiently and the CCC is being excluded from the few consultations that took place. The electoral law needs to be aligned to the Constitution.
“State media remains partial to Zanu PF. Political violence takes place with impunity. There has been no transparency on the census and delimitation processes. Voter education is highly ineffective. These issues need to be addressed to ensure we do not have another disputed election.”
Zec spokesperson Jasper Mangwana could not be reached for comment.
But Zec dismissed vote-rigging allegations against Zanu PF in the recent by-elections and demanded that disgruntled parties bring evidence of the alleged misconduct.
In May, the European Union Observer Mission (EUOM) expressed concern over the slow progress on the implementation of its electoral reform recommendations to guarantee the holding of free and fair elections.
The EUOM made 23 recommendations after the disputed 2018 elections, including the alignment of the Electoral Act to the Constitution and ensuring the independence of the Zec.

Police Open Investigations Into Chamisa Death Threats
POLICE have finally opened investigations into death threats issued by a Zanu-PF official to Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa.
This was after human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa wrote to the police demanding an investigation into Abton Mashayanyika’s threats to Chamisa and his family.
Mashayanyika, an apostolic sect leader, made the threats while addressing a Zanu-PF rally in Mberengwa, Midlands province, early this month.
In a letter dated July 27, 2022 responding to Mtetwa’s demand, Assistant Commissioner, one Mushoriwa of the police Criminal Investigation Department said investigations into the matter had started.
“The department acknowledges receipt of your letter dated July 25, 2022 in connection with the above matter. Investigations into the matter have been instituted and you will be advised of the outcome in due course,” Mushoriwa said.
The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) also said it was investigating the matter.
“The ZHRC hereby confirms ongoing investigations on the matter. The Commission’s decision and or recommendations on the matter will be informed by the findings.” ZHRC deputy secretary Vengesai Eric Mukutiri said.
Mtetwa had appealed to the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission to encourage politics of tolerance and avoid a violent run-up to the 2023 elections.
Mashayanyika’s utterances triggered outrage amid calls for his arrest.
