Of course, this is all wishful daydreaming on the part of Chamisa. For him to reverse any Zanu PF policies he and his CCC friends must first wrestle political power from Mnangagwa and company. They (MDC) had the golden opportunity to do this by implementing the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They failed to implement even one token reform and the chance was wasted.
Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office and the rest is history.
Chamisa and company claim they will “win big” in 2023. It is all wishful thinking, of course. How can they win the elections so flawed there is no verified voters’ roll, rural voters are frog marched to vote for Zanu PF, etc., etc.
“Zviroto zviroto, siyai zviroto mumba!” (Daydreaming is daydreaming, one must not allow themselves to be carried away with their daydreaming!) said the late Zanu PF dictator Robert Mugabe dismissively of also late Morgan Tsvangirai’s claims of electoral victory.
The tragedy for Zimbabwe is there are many Zimbabweans out there who continue to believe MDC/CCC’s nonsensical daydreaming of ending the Zanu PF dictatorship without implemented the democratic reforms. Even if the those involved in the vote rigging; the Army, ZEC, Police, etc.; were to switch their loyalty from Zanu PF to CCC – which is what Chamisa and Morgan Tsvangirai before have been actively promoting by promising they will all keep their privileges and loot – this will not guarantee good governance.
The root causes of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown and bad governance are the mismanagement, the rampant corruption and failure to hold those in power to democratic account; which are, in turn, the by-product of the political patronage system. Trading in one patron, Mnangagwa, for a new one, Chamisa, will not end the criminal waste of human and material resources nor promote debate, democratic competition and free elections – the prerequisites for good governance.
The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding they would implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, the nation has been dying for. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, MDC/CCC leaders have not implemented even one token reform. It is very disappointing that the people are not only given MDC/CCC their marching orders but continue giving the sell outs their support seduced by the daydream empty promises. VIDEO: Chamisa has more political capital than Bill Gates, Strive Masiyiwa, Richard Branson, put together-what does Mnangagwa achieve by taking away a small building called Harvest House?
…Will he now return the party finances money and the keys to the Harvest House building…
There was drama yesterday when the govt owned Zim Papers in its editorial appeared to turn against the state assisted opposition leader, Douglas Mwonzora, which was the first time in history the Herald newspaper editors suggested Mwonzora must share his loot from the political finances purse.
By Farai D Hove | The leader of the state assisted break away MDC T party, Douglas Mwonzora yesterday performed a u turn to suddenly support the National Council institution that appointed his nemesis Nelson Chamisa Acting President of the MDC T in 2018.
Mwonzora’s party was created on the sole basis and accusation that Chamisa should have disobeyed the party’s National Council Resolution that made him Acting President after the death of MDC founder Morgan Tsvangirai.
Mwonzora, who took his own party to court, says he's suspended @EngMudzuri & others for the offence of taking the party to court, & colluding with hostile forces. After opposing the Nat Council that appointed @nelsonchamisa, says their actions were against a Nat Council Resolutio pic.twitter.com/G71Ey1TEUU
Will he now return the party finances money and the keys to the Harvest House building since he (Mwonzora) has done exactly what he has for years accused his nemesis and former leader Nelson Chamisa of doing- to follow a National Council Resolution?
Speaking to the state owned ZTN broadcaster, Mwonzora defended himself for suspending his compatriots Elias Mudzuri and co, saying:
“I have expelled people from the party for corruption. I’ve expelled people from the party for violence.”
After he was asked by Andy Hodges for clarification on the charges, Mwonzora responded saying: “The charges range from violence and planning violence, number 1. Taking the party to court, number 2. And there is a resolution of the National Council that if you take the party to court, you have expelled yourself, use domestic remedies. Number 3, colluding with forces which are hostile to the MDC, and you will be interested to note that some of these forces are in the opposition; some of these forces are in government, and some of these people were colluding with these people, and number 4, attempting to circumvent a democratic process; we have had a congress, and you have not made it and you want to reverse that, we have domestic remedies. And of course planning a split of the party and some of them planning to form another political party…”
By- The Constitutional Court has refused to hear on an urgent basis an application challenging the flawed Zimbabwe Electoral Commission delimitation report.
The challenge was lodged by a Harare man Mr Tonderai Chidawu who approached the court to order the restart and to invalidate processes that took place in Parliament since the preliminary delimitation report was tabled on January 6 for lack of compliance with the Constitution. Parliament yesterday handed over to President Mnangagwa its report on the preliminary delimitation report produced by the electoral commission last month in line with provisions of the Constitution. The parliamentary report was produced by an all-party ad-hoc committee established by Parliament to analyse the preliminary delimitation report and also contained submissions by legislators during debate. It was approved by the National Assembly and the Senate. President Mnangagwa is today expected to hand over this report to ZEC to consider issues raised by Parliament as required by law. Speaking to journalists after a chamber hearing yesterday, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, who is representing Mr Chidawu confirmed the court ruling. “The Chief Justice (Luke Malaba) has ruled that the matter should proceed as an ordinary court application because at this stage it will be premature for the court to determine the matter,” he said. He said the application was meant to put Parliament on the spot for failure to fulfil its constitutional obligation. Prof Madhuku said his client furnished Parliament with copies of documents alleging that the report which was submitted to be tabled in Parliament was not a report of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission but by a portion of the ZEC, the chair and deputy chair, but Parliament went on to debate the report. “That is the allegation and he (Chidawu) wants Parliament to investigate that but refused and proceeded to debate the report and they took their results to the President,” he said. “By failing to investigate my client is saying that it’s a failure to fulfil the constitutional obligation to bring state institutions to account.” Prof Madhuku added that if the issue raised by his client was determined in his favour it would mean that all the processes that Parliament undertook and everything that followed would be null and void. Prof Madhuku said they were also calling ZEC to do a delimitation which involves all commissioners. Mr Chidawu’s application contained affidavits from two ZEC commissioners. He alleges that the preliminary report was not approved by seven of the nine ZEC commissioners hence should not have been sent to the President. Parliament debated the draft delimitation report and yesterday handed its recommendations to President Mnangagwa for onward transmission to ZEC which will now have to produce a final delimitation report. In terms of the Constitution, the delimitation of constituency boundaries must be done at least six months before the elections. In the event that it is completed less than six months to an election, the delimitation report cannot be considered for that election but a future election.
By- The former MDC vice president, Elias Mudzuri, and six other party members suspended by the party leader, Douglas Mwonzora, have fought back.
These officials were suspended over several alleged offences and are saying their removal was unlawful, raising more doubts.
The opposition suspended Mudzuri, Norest Marara, Gift Konjana, John Nyika, Den Moyo, Edwin Dzambara, and Edwin Kakora on Monday for allegedly breaking party rules, having illegal meetings, and undermining the democratic procedures of the organisation.
The seven argued in an internal memo submitted to the party’s national chairperson Solomon Chikohwero that the Mwonzora camp’s suspension of them was unlawful. They also vowed to continue carrying out their party obligations.
They cited sections of the MDC constitution that state that the president and national chairperson are elected in a congress, therefore, since there was no congress, the party’s presidency, national chairperson, and standing committee positions were all vacant. Read the memo seen by ZimLive:
As per 6.4.4.1 of the MDC Constitution, The President and National Chairman of the party together with the rest of the Standing Committee office bearers shall be elected at Congress.
Since no congress has been held according to the tenets of the party constitution, the offices stipulated in 6.4.4.1 are deemed to remain vacant.
Any individual seeking to usurp powers vested in 6.4.4.1 is acting ultra-vires the party constitution and any actions, announcements, or representations from such individuals are null and void.
The seven officials, according to MDC spokesperson Witness Dube, were accused of leaking the information to the media in an effort to get unwarranted attention.
Dube claimed that the suspended officials were merely seeking public sympathy because they even considered writing to Chikohwero, who they claim was improperly using his position as party chair. Dube said:
We will not be drawn to argue on our constitution in the media because this is what these attention seekers will derive satisfaction from.
The fact that they recognise a chairperson they consider to have been elected illegally shows that they are only playing to the gallery, and may be afraid of appearing before the disciplinary hearing.
The party will comment after their case has been properly considered in accordance with our constitutional provisions.
Insiders claim that the seven suspended party leaders were unofficially dismissed for criticising Mwonzora’s leadership, and the opposition used the impending disciplinary process as a public relations gimmick.
According to reports, the suspended leaders are currently developing a plan to contest their expulsion and Mwonzora’s authority.
They attribute the party’s unpopularity and dismal performance in last year’s by-elections to Mwonzora’s strategies.

FORMER detective, Jaison Muvevi, who killed three people in Wedza last week, was further detained by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), for him to make indications on how he allegedly committed the crime.
Investigating Officer, Pisai Chikara asked for more time with the suspect, stating that they intend to take him to Wedza for further investigations before he can be charged.
Muvevi briefly appeared before Harare magistrate, Dennis Mangosi protesting going back into the hands of the police.
He told court his former colleagues hung him up all night.
However, the police applied for a warrant of further detention which was granted.
“I didn’t sleep at all,” he said after the magistrate asked him if he had any complaints against the police.
“The police officers I was handed over to added extra handcuffs and hung me from a bar so I did not sleep at all,” he said.
His lawyer, Samson Dzingira later showed up insisting that his client should be sent to prison not back into police custody.
“The State is trying to indirectly solicit for a confession from the accused by asking him to make indications,” said Dzingira.
“The submission that they can only craft a charge after the indications does not hold any water…the question is why did they arrest him in the first place.
“I would move that the form 242 be crafted in a day and the accused be placed on remand while in the custody of prisons.
“If they want him for interviews, they can still do so with him coming from jail.
“Since the 24 hour period expires tomorrow (Thursday), the warrant for further detention should be refused and the accused be placed on remand on a form 242 tomorrow,” said the lawyer.
The magistrate ruled no prejudice would be suffered if Muvevi goes back to the police.
He is expected back in court on January 20.
Muvevi shot dead an apostolic sect prophet before fatally shooting Officer in Charge of Wedza police station, Inspector Maxwell Hove (43) and a bar tender.
ZRP has identified the other two victims as Crispen Mubvana (62) and Munashe Mujanhi (20).
Muvevi also injured one Detective Constable Tendai Mugova.
He then fled to Mozambique after attempting to kill one Raphael Nyahwema at Mutare Boys High.
The former cop was apprehended by civilians who handed him over to the neighbouring country’s police before his deportation.- Bulawayo24
By A Correspondent| Following his suspension from the Douglas Mwonzora led Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T), Engineer Elias Mudzuri appears to be on the verge of starting his own movement if posts from a Twitter account named @MyMDC_T are anything to go by.
Mudzuri together with losing Harare Central legislator Norest Marara and five others were suspended from MDC-T for ‘gross misconduct’ but the Harare Senator appears to be pondering challenging for the country’s presidency on his own.
The account hailed Mudzuri as an exceptional Mayor during his reign while also highlighting his success as MDC Organising Secretary during the 2008 harmonised elections where the then party leader Morgan Tsvangirai trounced Zanu PF’s candidate Robert Mugabe to force a run-off.
“He was an exceptional Mayor (Harare), he delivered victory for the opposition in 2008 , stabilized the grid as the Minister of Energy, he continues to serve the people of Harare with humility,” reads post from the Twitter account.
The suspended group has also issued a statement dismissing their suspension as illegitimate.
“As per 6.4.4.1 of the MDC Constitution, The President and National Chairman of the party together with the rest of the Standing Committee office bearers shall be elected at Congress.
“Since no congress has been held according to the tenets of the party constitution, the offices stipulated in 6.4.4.1 are deemed to remain vacant,” reads part of the statement from the MDC Suspended Seven.
Should Mudzuri form his own party, it will be the first splinter group from the Mwonzora group after splitting from Nelson Chamisa who now leads the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).

While it is common knowledge that when you rape a human being and you are convicted of the crime, you are likely to spend a number of years behind bars, the case appeared different in a similar case.
Although animal cruelty is a chargeable offence, a 20-year-old man from Godlwayo Village 3 in Esigodini District, Matabeleland South province was lucky to escape a prison term after he was convicted for raping a goat which reportedly died during the act, apparently of exhaustion.
The goat rapist Mthandazo Ndlovu appeared before Esigodini resident magistrate Nomagugu Sibanda charged with two counts of bestiality as defined in Section 74 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
He pleaded guilty to both counts and was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment of which six months were suspended for three years on condition he is not convicted of any offence of which bestiality is an element committed within that period, for which upon conviction he is sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine.
The remaining 12 months were suspended on condition that Ndlovu completes 420 hours of community service at Godlwayo Primary School.
The court proved that Ndlovu performed an act that would make “any right-thinking member of society sick to their stomach,” when he raped Brighton Nkomo’s goat to death before he was also caught red-handed romping with Luckson Mkandla’s goat.
Both Nkomo and Mkandla are from Ntabende Village in Esigodini.
Circumstances are that on 28 October 2022 and at around 10pm Ndlovu who was employed at Phat-Ore Mine, went to Nkomo’s homestead and upon arrival he entered his goat pen.
While inside the goat pen, he had sex with one of his female goats. It is reported that the goat died during the act.
It is reported that the following morning Nkomo went to the goat pen and found one of his female goats lying unconscious and upon checking it, he found it dead with some semen on its rear.
Nkomo reportedly tracked a trail of footprints from the goat pen and they led him to Ndlovu’s home.
It is reported that on 31 October 2022 and at around 3am, Ndlovu who was apparently on a sex spree with goats, went to Mkandla’s homestead and upon arrival he got into his goat pen.
While inside the pen, he took off all his clothes and grabbed one of the female goats and forced it to lie on its back and raped it.
Apparently out of pain, the goat bleated continuously and that prompted Mkandla to wake up and go to the pen to see what was happening.
Mkandla reportedly stealthily moved to the goat pen and upon arrival he flashed his torch and was shocked when he saw Ndlovu busy like a rabbit having sex with one of his female goats.
In a swank of shame, Ndlovu fled naked leaving behind his clothes in the goat pen.
By that time Mkandla who had already recognised Ndlovu went and reported the matter to the police leading to his arrest.
His clothes which he left in Mkandla’s goat pen were used in court as an exhibit. -B Metro

By- The government has suspended the licenses of Zebra Kiss and Rimbi Travel & Tours following the death of one person in an accident the two buses caused, Wednesday.
Transport minister Felix Mhona announced the suspension in a statement Thursday.
STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT, HON. F. T. MHONA (MP) ON THE SUSPENSION OF THE LICENCES FOR OPERATION OF ALL OMNIBUSES (BUSES) BY RIMBI TRAVEL AND TOURS (PVT) LTD AND TASHLLYT INVESTMENTS (PVT) LTD TRADING AS ZEBRA KISS
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development has noted with great concern the video circulating on social media, which captures the circumstances leading to the fatal Road Traffic Accident (RTA), that occurred on 17 January 2023 in Mutoko District along the Harare-Nyamapanda Highway. The video and circumstances of the accident, which have been verified, involves two passenger transport service vehicles of an omnibus type (commonly referred to as buses) belonging to Rimbi Travel and Tours (Pvt) Ltd and Tashllyt Investments (Pvt) Ltd trading as Zebra Kiss.
Pursuant to the fatal accident, which has so far claimed one life and caused serious injury of many passengers, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development and other actors in the ecosystem of road traffic management, including the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) and emergency health services has established the component of human error, prohibited by Sections 51, 52 and 53 of the Road Traffic Act [Chapter 13:11] as the principal cause of the accident. Sections 51, 52 and 53 of the Road Traffic Act prohibit driving without due care and attention or reasonable consideration for others, negligent or dangerous driving and reckless driving respectively, which violation is a breach of the terms and conditions of the two operators’ licenses issued for them to operate in Zimbabwe.
Informed by the foregoing violations and verified videographic circumstances, the Commissioner of Road Transport, after informing the two operators of his intention, and after the operators were given a reasonable opportunity to make representations on the matter in terms of Section 17 (2) of the Road Motor Transportation Act [Chapter 13:15], invoked provisions of Section 17 (1) (b) (i) of the same Act and suspended the licences of Rimbi Travel and Tours and Tashllyt Investments Trading as Zebra Kiss from operating all its omnibuses in all the routes as authorised by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development. This suspension is with immediate effect
pending corrective measures by the two operators to ensure that they are in a position to resume operations without breach of the terms and conditions under which their licenses are issued. Section 17 (1) (b) (i) of the Road Motor Transportation Act empowers the Commissioner of Road Transport to suspend the operator’s license where it appears that there is disregard of the terms and conditions of the licenses. I have directed that this provision be implemented dutifully, consistently and religiously going forward, with the view to weed out all errant operators from our roads. In view of the incessant road fatalities being recorded on our roads, I have taken a bold stance to reduce road carnage as the Minister responsible for administering laws and regulations on road traffic and safety management. This is in line with targets contained in the National Development Strategy (NDS) 1 (2021-2025) which seeks to reduce road accidents and fatalities by a 25% margin per annum. Going forward, we shall build on this momentum of strict enforcement of road motor transportation and safety for the safety and well-being of the people. I wish to remind and warn all Transport Operators, Associations, motorists and members of the public that the Ministry will take stern measures provided by our laws against those who wantonly and blatantly violate road traffic rules and regulations. The safety and security of all commuting public cannot be taken for granted. We will not hesitate to suspend and cancel licenses of operators who violate terms and conditions of such licenses, traffic rules and regulations. We urge all road traffic law enforcement agencies to be on high alert to enforce the road traffic laws and ensure that operators with suspended and cancelled licenses do not ply our roads.
HON. F. T. MHONA (MP) MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The Zambian Ministry of Health has confirmed that ex-midfielder Enock Mwepu has been discharged from the hospital.
Mwepu was admitted on Sunday after collapsing due to a suspected heart attack.
The incident occurred while he was driving towards Kabangwe, a small town on the outskirts of Lusaka, and his car was seen swerving on a major road. He eventually parked, and came out of the vehicle and fell.
The Health Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Prof Lackson Kasonka has confirmed that the 25-year-old is now at home recuperating.
“I can confirm that Enoch Mwepu was discharged from the Lusaka Heart Hospital this morning, he will continue his recuperation from home” confirmed Prof. Kasonka
Mwepu was forced to retire at the age of 24 after being diagnosed with a rare hereditary heart condition.
The diagnosis followed after the former midfielder fell ill while on a flight to link up with his Chipolopolo teammates in the international break in September. He spent a period in hospital in Mali before returning to England to undergo further cardiac tests and was advised to stop playing football.
Following his pre-mature retirement, Enock moved into coaching and was appointed the coach of Brighton and Hove U9 team at the start of this month.- Soccer Zimbabwe
An estimated 5 million children died before their fifth birthday and another 2.1 million children and youth aged between 5–24 years lost their lives in 2021, according to the latest estimates released by the United Nations Inter-agency Group for Child Mortality Estimation (UN IGME).
In a separate report also released today, the group found that 1.9 million babies were stillborn during the same period. Tragically, many of these deaths could have been prevented with equitable access and high-quality maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health care.
“Every day, far too many parents are facing the trauma of losing their children, sometimes even before their first breath,” said Vidhya Ganesh, UNICEF Director of the Division of Data Analytics, Planning and Monitoring. “Such widespread, preventable tragedy should never be accepted as inevitable. Progress is possible with stronger political will and targeted investment in equitable access to primary health care for every woman and child.”
The reports show some positive outcomes with a lower risk of death across all ages globally since 2000. The global under-5 mortality rate fell by 50% since the start of the century, while mortality rates in older children and youth dropped by 36%, and the stillbirth rate decreased by 35%. This can be attributed to more investments in strengthening primary health systems to benefit women, children and young people.
However, gains have reduced significantly since 2010, and 54 countries will fall short of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals target for under-5 mortality. If swift action is not taken to improve health services, warn the agencies, almost 59 million children and youth will die before 2030, and nearly 16 million babies will be lost to stillbirth.
“It is grossly unjust that a child’s chances of survival can be shaped just by their place of birth, and that there are such vast inequities in their access to lifesaving health services,” said Dr Anshu Banerjee, Director for Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing at the World Health Organization (WHO).
“Children everywhere need strong primary health care systems that meet their needs and those of their families, so that – no matter where they are born – they have the best start and hope for the future.”
Children continue to face wildly differentiating chances of survival based on where they are born, with sub-Saharan Africa and southern Asia shouldering the heaviest burden, the reports show. Though sub-Saharan Africa had just 29% of global live births, the region accounted for 56% of all under-5 deaths in 2021, and southern Asia for 26% of the total.
Children born in sub-Saharan Africa are subject to the highest risk of childhood death in the world – 15 times higher than the risk for children in Europe and northern America.
Mothers in these 2 regions also endure the painful loss of babies to stillbirth at an exceptional rate, with 77% of all stillbirths in 2021 occurring in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia. Nearly half of all stillbirths happened in sub-Saharan Africa. The risk of a woman having a stillborn baby in sub-Saharan Africa is 7 times more likely than in Europe and North America.
“Behind these numbers are millions of children and families who are denied their basic rights to health,” said Juan Pablo Uribe, Global Director for Health, Nutrition and Population, World Bank and Director of the Global Financing Facility. “We need political will and leadership for sustained financing for primary health care which is one of the best investments countries and development partners can make.”
Access to and availability of quality health care continues to be a matter of life or death for children globally. Most child deaths occur in the first five years, of which half are within the first month of life. For these youngest babies, premature birth and complications during labour are the leading causes of death.
Similarly, more than 40% of stillbirths occur during labour – most of which are preventable when women have access to quality care throughout pregnancy and birth. For children that survive past their first 28 days, infectious diseases like pneumonia, diarrhoea and malaria pose the biggest threat.
While COVID-19 has not directly increased childhood mortality – with children facing a lower likelihood of dying from the disease than adults – the pandemic may have increased future risks to their survival. In particular, the reports highlight concerns around disruptions to vaccination campaigns, nutrition services, and access to primary health care, which could jeopardize their health and well-being for many years to come. In addition, the pandemic has fuelled the largest continued backslide in vaccinations in three decades, putting the most vulnerable newborns and children at greater risk of dying from preventable diseases.
The reports also note gaps in data, which could critically undermine the impact of policies and programmes designed to improve childhood survival and well-being.
“The new estimates highlight the remarkable global progress since 2000 in reducing mortality among children under age 5,” said John Wilmoth, Director, UN DESA Population Division. “Despite this success, more work is needed to address persistent large differences in child survival across countries and regions, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Only by improving access to quality health care, especially around the time of childbirth, will we be able to reduce these inequities and end preventable deaths of newborns and children worldwide.”

The song will be released on 23 January 2023.
Lewin Muz is also working on releasing a new album in May.
“This track is part of an upcoming album which I intend to release in May 2023,” the soft-spoken musician said.

Lewin Muz started singing at the age of 8, that time he was playing Marimba instruments.
He Continued playing Marimba all the way to Churchill Boys High where he did Form 1 to 6.
“We performed at quite a number of events which included weddings, corporate meetings, fun days etc with the Churchill Band Crew.
Some of my crew members were Gary Tight, Ishan Ril Baad, Tino Mudepu to name a few.
Churchill High School has done quite a good job in grooming talents I can say.
During high school thats when I started recording my own music at home though I wasnt publishing it.
I enrolled for BEng Production Engineering at Chinhoyi University of Technology where I kept on personally learning about producing music and nurturing my vocals.
From there I relocated to South Africa where I started a career as a Software Developer,” Lew Muz said.
He lived in South Africa for about 3 years and moved to Dubai, where he is currently based with his family and working as an IT Executive in the Fitness Industry.
The musician added : “Last year 2022 I worked on a single Attention which was mainly promoted on Spotify and this year I have sat myself to release and promote an album which includes the prelease single .Why Not*coming is up on 23 January officially on all platforms.
I produced Why Not myself but I look forward to working with various artists and producers for the album.
I have already started planning with a few established artists for features and I believe great things are on the way.”
“I am an artist, I write songs from logic and sometimes personal experiences but not always. I enjoy curating expressions through lyrical content. Most of my tracks are focused on affection and love but I also like giving people motivation and advise about day to day life experiences. I have done an indipendent single called Play On which should be available on music platforms this month. I recorded this song 3 years back but hadn’t published yet. It talks about how tough a path to success can be, and how one should keep up the energy to stand tall even when the world energies are fighting against your progress.
I love doing music more than anything else. Though I find myself doing Software Development trying to balance my economics, my heart lies on music.
I look forward to making massive tunes, that seat at people’s hearts. Zimbabweans and non-Zimbabweans.
I look forward to taking Zim Music far, linking up with global artists. Thats my objective and I believe with more networking and hardwork it will come to happen,” declared the youthful musician.
Geological Mapping is an important tool in the mining industry.
Many people look down upon Geological mapping and just do simple methods in search of minerals for example dowsing methods to search for minerals.
Geological mapping is the process done by a Geologist in which he picks up rock units called lithologies in an area, picking the orientation and structural features on the mine.
Explaining the importance of Geological mapping: One can know the contact zones which are important in gold mineralization. Gold moves in areas of low mean stress for example fractures, faults, etc if a Geologist is able to pic a contact zone he can be able to proceed checking possible mineralization in the cantact zone.
We at Inner Core Resources (Pvt.) Ltd offer Mining services from Geological mapping, reef mapping, Magnetics and IP in exploration for all minerals including Gold, Lithium, Manganese and base metals including copper, manganese etc. Exploration starts from desktop studies spanning to geological mapping upto geological reporting with our experienced personnel.

STATEMENT BY DR EVELYN SENGWE ON JAISON MUVEVI ISSUE
I would like to start by expressing my deepest condolences to the families of the victims. It was an unfortunate incident and its a sad development
Having said that, I believe. Jaison Muvevi is innocent. Muvevi had retired from the CID and was now a businessman, specialising in mining development.
He has been and is contributing to economic development and providing employment to other people. During the time this incident happened, Muvevi was coming from his mine. I was scheduled to later meet him because he had collected money from his mine for a charity programme that I do with him, paying school fees for vulnerable children.
Muvevi had gone for lunch and a misunderstanding arose. As someone who had money on him, he could have thought the people were robbers following him. Muvevi had gone for lunch and not on a shooting spree.
Things went sour when the misunderstandings arose and Muvevi could have thought they were robbers after him.
I take it that Muvevi is innocent and the incident that happened are unfortunate. Mind you, Muvevi is a trained security man, a former CID operative.
You do not just start in the CID. Its actually a merit position with specialised officers. The ZRP has a very serious training programme which has produced excellent personell, Muvevi included.
Hence the actions by Muvevi, a trained CID officer, should have been informed by a reasonable. degree of danger.
I recommend that Muvevi be found innocent but for. him to give each family of the affected victims, 10 cattle and Usd 5 000 per each family.
For anything regarding this case, I am wiling to provide my relevant expertise and those who want anything may contact me.
Regards

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa yesterday said securocrats in the country were being used by politicians to clamp down on civilians ahead of polls expected later this year.
Responding to concerns raised on Twitter by one of his supporters identified as Thomas Ray Matiza, who suggested that if CCC wins this year’s elections, police chiefs should be fired, Chamisa said blame should instead be apportioned on politicians who order police to clamp down on citizens.
“The problem is with politicians, not our patriotic men and women in uniform who are so loyal to Zimbabwe. We must fix this,” Chamisa tweeted in response.
The remarks follow the arrest during the weekend of 25 CCC activists, including Mkoba MP Amos Chibaya and Budiriro MP Costa Machingauta for allegedly participating in a gathering to promote public violence.
When Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights member Kudzai Kadzere visited them for representation, he was reportedly beaten up by police who left him hospitalised.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi declined to comment.
“I am currently attending a senior officers meeting. I can’t comment on what Chamisa has said,” Nyathi said.
Political analyst Vivid Gwede said: “Police details work on commands which are issued by superiors who are usually politically connected, which is against the Police Charter and the Constitution.
“In this difficult economic environment, the dilemma that the juniors have is whether to disobey the orders and get fired, or obey the orders and keep their jobs. The problem is the flawed political system, hence the calls for politicians to respect the Constitution.”
Another political analyst Maxwell Saungweme said politicians were the ones that order the security forces to commit atrocities on civilians.
“But those witty words from Chamisa signify political maturity, political repartee, and swordplay. It’s an undeniable fact that the security forces are kingmakers in Zimbabwe,” Saungweme said.
He said in this year’s elections, and in order to wrest political power, it will be pivotal for the winner to garner support from the security sector.
Sydicks Muradzikwa, also a political analyst, said: “Chamisa is trying to correct and distance himself from his late predecessor (Morgan Tsvangirai)’s political attitude, which included blistering, scathing attacks on the country’s security and service chiefs. He has learned from the mistakes of Tsvangirai who repeatedly attacked the security sector.”
Muradzikwa said political transition after elections was crucial, and Chamisa was trying to mend relations with the once-threatened security service chiefs so that they welcome him to the seat of politics.

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has said it is finalising the processes preceding the release of the November 2022 Ordinary Level examination results, contrary to some false reports circulating in some sections of the media.
In a statement on Tuesday, Zimsec said the results will be announced at the appropriate time when all the processes have been completed.
“There have been false reports circulating on social media, particularly from a Zimsec parody (false) Twitter account and an online publication, Afrogazette, purporting that the Ordinary level results have been cancelled. We haven’t issued any statements on the pass rate of the 2022 O Level Examination candidates or cancellation of results,” read part of the statement.
“These reports are published in mischief to cause anxiety and unrest amongst candidates and parents. We advise all stakeholders to disregard these speculative attempts to cause panic and despondency and await official updates from ZIMSEC.
“We are in the process of finalising assessment of 2022 Ordinary Level performance and have completed the marking. The processes which precede the release of the results are currently underway”.
Zimsec said those candidates who had pre-access to question papers at different examination centres were identified during the writing of the examinations and also at the marking of scripts stage.
In addition, these candidates will, in line with existing laws have their examination results cancelled.
“Our stakeholders are called upon to expect the release of results to deserving candidates when all necessary processes have been completed. We wish to thank the public and all our stakeholders for their interest and cooperation in ensuring the integrity of our examination system,” added the organisation.
US based NGO, AHOJ (All Hands On Justice) issues a statement condemning the abuse of arrested CCC activists who have been denied food in prison. Statement below:
Lawyers, representing CCC political party supporters, report that their clients are likely going to suffer with starvation in remand prison as the Prison officers have denied them food.
Today, 25 CCC political party supporters arrested for attending a political meeting spent the whole day without food whilst attending court. The prison guard officials said food could only be given whilst at the remand prison. The cut off time for visitations and giving food at the remand prison is 3pm and the bail hearing seasons at court are going past 3pm meaning the 25 will be spending days without food.
Amongst those arrested are people over 70years old and some on medication. Such acts by State institutions is unacceptable and amounts to persecution!
We urge the Prisons and Correctional Services to respect the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Section 227 of the Constitution instructs the Prisons and Correctional Services to be non-partisan, national in character, and professional. Section 50 of the Constitution also clearly states that any person who is arrested must be treated humanely and with respect for their inherent dignity.
AHOJ demands the end of the persecution of these detainees and their continued incarceration.- AHOJ
Over 700 jobs were lost while the lives of several small-scale formal traders operating at the once-thriving Mpopoma Outspan factory are at stake after their factory shells were gutted by fire with property worth millions of dollars going up in flames.
millions of dollars up in flames
The traders lost furniture and equipment when the fire broke out yesterday morning resulting in the factory being reduced to rubble.
The fire broke out around 5.45am in a small section of the vast factory and quickly spread.
The factory, popularly known as Spamprekini, is situated along Nketa Drive adjacent to Mpopoma Recreational Park.
So enterprising was the factory that Mpopoma Outspan Association had perfected its operations to a level where both big and small buyers from different parts of the country flocked into the humble factory to place their orders.
Last year, Chronicle established that the factory produced around 400 high-quality lounge suites per month, 300 wardrobes and 250 kitchen units.
Now the factory with all its machinery has been reduced to ruins.
When the Chronicle news crew arrived at the scene shortly after 6am, scores of stall owners and residents stood in utter disbelief as they watched helplessly their source of income vanishing in a puff of smoke. Visibly shaken workers, some still in pajamas, watched as fire fighters battled to put out the blaze.
Some, with tears rolling down their cheeks, braved the raging fire as they stormed inside the factory in a desperate bid to salvage some of their merchandise.
One of the local residents, Mr Trynos Kapfudzaruwa, broke a gas tank stall whose roof was burning to retrieve tanks.
“I had to do it to save the factory. I do not own a stall in this place, but I saw it fit to assist because this has been an economic empowerment place for most people in our area,” he said.
The news crew also observed one woman with a baby strapped on her back, entering her stall to retrieve her stock.
According to a Bulawayo Fire Brigade official preliminary report, the first unit from Nketa arrived on site at 6.22am.
The report states that the suspected cause of the fire was “carelessly discarded lit material”.
“The entire premises were well alight with large volumes of smoke issuing out. Flames could be seen from a distance and producing serious crackling sounds,” read the report.
“The Fire Brigade observed that the entire club was involved, and that the materials mainly involved were timber, foam rubbers and other accessories all used towards the manufacture and repair of sofas and beds.”
According to the report, 75 percent of large quantities of timber, sofas, bed material and tools were damaged. The estimated value of the property is $350 million while the estimated loss is $175 million.
The factory had a furniture manufacturing section, grinding mills, a tombstone-making area, a kitchen with different small food outlets, a gas selling point, a tuck shop, and a poultry area with chickens.
Mpopoma Outspan Association vice chair, Mr Voice Moyo, who has been working at the factory since 1996, said they are devastated.
“We are in deep shock and devastated by what happened. We have lost everything and millions of finished products, materials and equipment have been lost,” he said.
“We are appealing to the Government to assist us to get back on our feet. Official members in our database are 227 and all of them lost everything.”
One of the furniture manufacturers, Mr Tadiwanashe Gamuchirai, said he noticed fumes from a distance and immediately rushed to retrieve his machines.
However, he lost all his finished products comprising couches and beds.
“I don’t know where l am going to get the money to refund some customers who had already paid deposits,” said Mr Gamuchirai.
Ms Nelisiwe Moyo, who run a kitchen shop, said the disaster is a huge blow to their business as the factory was their only source of income.
“I was alerted by a friend that the factory is on fire. Knowing that l had my property inside, I immediately ran to the scene,” she said.
“I could not believe my eyes when l saw flames and everything was destroyed. I am grateful to the people who helped me to remove my property before it was destroyed.”
A Mpopoma resident, Mr Tinashe Mpofu, said he was compelled to assist retrieve an assortment of equipment.
He said the factory also created employment opportunities for youths and women.
“I hope that they had insured their business ventures so that they can start rebuilding their empire again,” said Mr Mpofu.
Mr Isaac Masimba said although he managed to salvage a few items, he lost all his machinery. –Chronicle
By- Three children from Chivhu in Mashonaland East Province died on Friday, 13 after they had eaten mushrooms.
The three from Range village were identified as Prudence Mhangami (10), Liona Zariro (3), and two-year-old Mazvita Taderera.
Prudence died on admission at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, while Liona and Mazvita died on admission at Chivhu General Hospital.

3 suspected drug dealers, one of them who is the ex-police officer, were yesterday arrested in Bulawayo following a raid at their homes in Entumbane suburb.
Police recovered marijuana, alcohol, weight gain tablets and cough syrups among other illicit substances. They also found pipes, which are used to inhale drugs, skin-lightening creams and plastic sachets, which are used to package drugs.
Elton Ndlovu (37), a former police officer, Asprila Maphosa (23), and Lydia Ndlovu-Mthimkhulu (27) are allegedly linked to an organised drug syndicate targeting youths.
The trio’s arrest is in response to the recent case in which 17 youths from Entumbane suburb were rushed to Ingutsheni Central Hospital after overdosing on crystal methamphetamine (meth).
The rate at which youths are abusing drugs has grown considerably with residents attributing that to the Covid 19 pandemic lockdown. About 250 drug addicts are attended to at Ingutsheni Central Hospital monthly, with the number of youths abusing drugs continuing to rise in Bulawayo.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube told journalists yesterday that the suspects were arrested following a crackdown on criminals in Entumbane.
“Our officers acted on a tip-off and raided the two houses in Entumbane and recovered a consignment of illicit drugs after conducting a search and arrested the three suspects. As police, we continue to conduct our investigations as we suspect that these people are operating as a syndicate involving several others,” he said.
Insp Ncube said the trio is expected to appear in court soon on charges of dealing in dangerous drugs.
“We arrested Lydia Ndlovu also known as Lydia Mthimkhulu last year during which she was only using Ndlovu as her surname. She was convicted of similar charges and got a suspended sentence of six months,” he said.
“This time around Lydia changed her surname to Mthimkhulu probably as a way of trying to avoid court bringing up the suspended sentence from her previous conviction.”
Insp Ncube said Lydia’s mother, Jane Ndlovu popularly known as MaHadebe is an alleged drug peddler who is operating behind the scenes.
He urged parents and guardians to immediately report cases of drug abuse and also desist from dealing with their children involved in substance abuse.
“As police, we have noted that most of these youths that abuse drugs were either raised in child-headed families or live with grandparents. We are, therefore, going to conduct a community awareness campaign against drug and substance abuse at Honours Academy and Entumbane High School,” said Insp Ncube.
Zimbabwe is experiencing an upsurge in drug abuse cases and most of those abusing the drugs are young people.
Last year, the Ministry of Health and Child Care launched a five-year strategic plan (2021-2025) against substance abuse to curb its prevalence which has become alarming.
Substances that are commonly abused are alcohol (both licensed and unlicensed brews) tobacco, cannabis and non-medical use of controlled medicines such as codeine-containing cough medicines and benzodiazepines. -state media
A form three learner at Loreto High School in Kwekwe District, Midlands Province left her classmates, including her teacher, stunned when she reportedly gave birth at the hostels.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning.
The 15-year-old learner reportedly drew attention of other learners, with some helping her in delivering the baby. Teachers also assisted in the delivery process.
The school head, Mr Phillip Mapiravana confirmed the incident. He, however, said the girl gave birth at the hostels.
“Yes, it is true, the girl was doing Form Three at our school. She is safe and we have since notified her parents in Gweru. That is all I can say for now,” he said.
Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson, Mr Taungana Ndoro said arrangements have been made for the child to receive post-natal care.
“Yes, it is true that one of our learners gave birth in the hostels and she is presently receiving post-natal attention. The school led by the health coordinator, who is a trained teacher, assisted her in giving birth,” he said.
Mr Ndoro said the ministry has since deployed learner welfare officials to assist the learners.
“We have also deployed our learner welfare department to provide socio-psycho support to the pupil as well as other pupils at the school,” he said.
The latest development comes at a time when the country is grappling with issues of child pregnancy and marriages.
The number of pregnant girls who drop out of school is still high across the country despite the existence of a law allowing them to remain in school even after being impregnated.
The Education Act which was amended last year makes it illegal to expel pupils who fall pregnant.
Teenage pregnancies or child marriages have been identified as some of the reasons contributing to pupils dropping out of school.
Recently, a nine-year-old Tsholotsho girl was raped and fell pregnant. The girl was assisted to deliver at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
The First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa is at the forefront in the fight against the scourge having lined up a number of programme such as the educative Nhanga/Gota/Ixhiba programme to conscientise women and girls against indulging in early sexual debuts.
Lobby groups are also at the forefront calling for stiffer penalties for perpetrators.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has launched a “Catch up Strategy’ as a way of returning to school children who drop out of school due to various reasons, including pregnancies.
In Kwekwe District alone, a total of 1 182 learners who had dropped out of school were returned to class courtesy of the ‘Catch-Up Strategy’.
Of these, a majority of 633 are girls who had either fallen pregnant or married. -state media

By-Zimbabwe Republic Police boss, Godwin Matanga, has directed police officers to shoot and kill armed robbers.
Matanga also said that people who possess unregistered firearms should be deemed to be planning to commit serious crimes.
He was speaking at the funeral wake of Inspector Maxwell Hove, who was killed in the line of duty in Hwedza by Jaison Muvevi, a former police officer. Said Matanga:
I wish to categorically state that those with unregistered firearms shall be deemed to have criminal intent.
Furthermore, as police officers, we will not hesitate to shoot to kill all perpetrators of heinous crimes such as armed robbery, which are making society apprehensive.
He said police have also noted with concern an increasing number of unregistered firearms recovered at crime scenes.
In August 2022, President Emmerson Mnangagwa granted a presidential amnesty on the voluntary surrender of firearms and ammunition.
Police assured those who surrendered their firearms that no criminal charges would be preferred against them during the period (8th August to 30th September 2022) as long as they complied with the provisions of the Presidential Amnesty. | The Sunday Mail

Zimbabwe is battling with the issue of underage girls being raped and failing pregnant. Last year alone several young girls, some as young as 9 were reported to have given birth.
Some experts have indicated that the number of girls who are victims to rape and falling pregnant is much higher than reported as some parents and guardians do not report the cases.
By- The Police said they would deal decisively with two buses that caused a fatal accident while racing along the Harare-Nyamapanda Road.
The drivers of a Rimbi Tours bus and a Zebra Kiss bus were racing and caused an accident that killed one person and left seven others seriously injured.
This happened after the Rimbi Bus rammed into the truck as the Zebra Kiss bus blocked the road during a race.
Said Asst Comm Paul Nyathi, the ZRP spokesperson: The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a fatal road traffic accident that occurred at the 160 km peg along Harare- Nyamapanda Road on 17th January 2023 at around 1620 hours where one person died on the spot while seven (07) others were seriously injured. A driver who was driving a Rimbi Tours, Yutong bus due west towards Harare, with 23 passengers on board rammed into the back of a Shacman Tipper which was travelling in the same direction. The bus driver was trying to overtake the truck whilst being blocked by a Zebra Kiss bus that was travelling in the same direction. It is clear that the bus drivers were racing and blocking each other along the road. They were openly putting the lives of passengers in danger. The Zimbabwe Republic Police implores bus operators to reign in their drivers to ensure that they abide by road rules and regulations. Operators have a vicarious responsibility to control their drivers and ensure that drivers are not dragged into dangerous and reckless highway races with other buses for passengers. Drivers are licensed to protect lives on the roads and set good conduct in terms of road safety. The Police will ensure that the law takes its course on the two bus drivers and the bus companies’ management.

By- Celebrated top television presenter Oscar Pambuka has been convicted of fraud.
Pambuka and his two friends attempted to defraud a Harare-based transporter of R36 000 after misrepresenting to him that he was Mr Chingwena, Croco Motors director, and wanted advance money to pay for shipment of his motor spare parts in South Africa when they appeared at Mbare Magistrates Court. Pambuka was convicted along with Ngonidzashe Mbauya, who is in the transport business, and Elmore Mwenye on fraud charges. The trio duped Gibson Mazhangara, who runs Gimatar Logistics. On November 15 last year, Pambuka, who was masquerading as Croco Motors marketing manager and representing Mr Chingwena, called Mr Mazhangara using a South African number saying they wanted R36 000 as an advance payment for shipping spare parts from South Africa. He claimed Mr Chingwena was engaged in a meeting. Pambuka then asked Mr Mazhangara to deposit the money into J Velem Enterprises trading as Ulphostery Trading’s FNB Bank account in South Africa. He also told Mr Mazhangira that he would receive the equivalent money in United States dollars in the country. Mr Mazhangira smelt a rat and went to confirm with Croco Motors who indicated that they had no containers of spare parts in South Africa waiting for shipment. He took the matter to the police leading to the trio’s arrest. Mbare magistrate Mr Nyasha Vitorini remanded them in custody to tomorrow for sentencing. Miss Vimbai Makamure appeared for the State.

Lawyers representing top ZANU PF Mashonaland West provincial member Pax Muringazuva have today revealed that their client’s arrest was as a result of trumped up allegations by his political rivals, who wants to derail his election campaign in Hurungwe North constituency during the forthcoming elections.
Muringazuva will be contesting in the forthcoming Zanu PF primary elections, which are slated for next month.
Through lawyer Mr Admire Rubaya, Muringazuva claimed that his political rivals, who have already sensed his victory in the primary elections, have launched a ‘smear campaign’ involving manufacturing criminal accusations against him.
Muringazuva appeared in court facing charges of ‘assist any person to enter, remain in or depart from Zimbabwe’ and human trafficking.
He allegedly haboured eight Pakistan nationals at his Mabelreign house in Harare with intent to traffic them to South Africa.
The Pakistans had 30-day holiday VISAs, according to the State.
“The allegations are as a result of my client’s political rivals, who are bent on tarnishing his good reputation and want to derail his election campaign in the forthcoming elections where he is contesting for Hurungwe North constituency.
“These are just malicious accusations from those who have aready sensed his victory, as he has been and always work hard towards developing that constituency,” said Rubaya in an interview soon after Muringazuva appeared in court.
Muringazuva was released on $300 000 bail coupled with other conditions.
Farukh Dilawar, Tahir Azeem, Sikandar Zulqarnain, Muhammad Tahir, Muhammad Fayaz, Muhammad Arham Asif, Muhammad Ali Ghazi and Muhammad Waqas Ali are the eight that Muringazuva allegedly haboured at his house and intent to traffick to South Africa.
The eight also appeared in court facing allegations of violating the Immigration Act.
They were remanded in custody to tommorow for bail application when they appeared before magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi

Why would you want to do this:
To understand the potential of your area, This would be your guideline during mining…

Happy Birthday Skilled. Your present is a reminder that, “Without the Oath the doctor is a skilled technician or laborer whose knowledge fits him for an occupation but not a profession.”?
By Farai D Hove| Govt spokesperson Ndabaningi Mangwana on Wednesday digitally slapped a doctor on his birthday with the scornful VP Chiwenga skilled rebhara statement.
The likely jest was slapped on the medic on his very birthday.
The development brought memories of a 2018 video of Emmerson Mnangagwa’s deputy Constantino Chiwenga saying that doctors are not employees, they are just occupants.
In the footage below taken in Dec 2018, Chiwenga is heard saying: “the doctor is a skilled technician, or labourer whose knowledge fits him for an Occupation but not a Profession…” He said this as he refused to heed requests for doctors to be paid more than their monthly $86 salary.
By-The Parliament has rejected the preliminary delimitation report by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) and said that it has many loopholes that would compromise the credibility of elections.
Parliamentarians said the delimitation was done without considering the recently released census report and demanded that it be returned for amendments by the electoral body.
The legislators also decried the fact that Zec had also failed to provide them with an electronic voter roll. Zec chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba presented the preliminary delimitation report to President Emmerson Mnangagwa on December 26 last year who then brought it to Parliament on January 6 this year. The delimitation report has since been analysed by Parliament’s ad-hoc committee and is now before the National Assembly where it is being further scrutinised and debated. In its recommendations, the Parliamentary ad-hoc committee had said Zec should take into account the entire population as shown in the census, not just the adult population because wards serve other purposes apart from elections, and that Zec should revisit boundaries where it did not take account of community interests between voters. Other recommendations by the ad-hoc committee included that Zec should ensure that there are equal number of voters in constituencies and wards, with variations limited to 20% as required by section 161 of the Constitution, and that Zec should apply consistent principles when transferring voters from constituencies and wards with large numbers of voters to those with fewer. Yesterday during debate of the Zec report in the National Assembly, Binga North legislator Prince Dubeko Sibanda (CCC) said: “The report is not a good one as some of the observations that were made by the ad hoc committee included that Zec did not consider the census report, which is able to indicate to the nation migration of citizens. Therefore, in the absence of the census report, it is very difficult to validate some of the findings; for example, Bulawayo province. When a census report is available, it becomes easy to compare the movement of citizens between areas.” Warren Park Member of Parliament (MP) Shakespear Hamauswa (CCC) said: “This report did not consider the voters roll. It and the census report are very important in this process.”
Harare East legislator Tendai Biti (CCC) suggested that the delimitation report be taken back to Zec on the basis of the recommendations made by the Parliamentary ad hoc committee. “The test of whether Zec did a good job was going to be measured on three issues, which include procedure when they were making the report, whether they followed the law, and whether the report is loyal to principles defined in section 161 of the Constitution. The three scores show that Zec failed to consider the final report of the census, and there is a co-relationship between the task of delimitation and the population. When you look at the Zec report, there is no marriage and there is no connection between the report and the population.” Biti continued: “Zec failed to produce a copy of the voters roll and we are just told without validation that the total number of voters is this and that, and yet the actual voters roll has not been given. Zec failed to consult citizens and it failed procedural issues.” Zanu PF legislators also declared that Zec had failed to carry out its duties diligently. Buhera South MP Joseph Chinotimba (Zanu PF) said Zec must be run as an independent commission and must not follow the dictates of any political party. “This time Zec has failed its duties,” Chinotimba said. Makoni North MP James Munetsi (Zanu PF) added: “Zec did the report from what they know, and not from statistics. Therefore we cannot trust them to run an election.” After both Houses debate the Zec delimitation report, the findings and recommendations by Parliament will be presented to Mnangagwa on Thursday. Legal think-tank Veritas says if either House recommends that the delimitation report be referred back to Zec, Mnangagwa will have to send it back to Zec for reconsideration. “He will have only one day to do so because section 161 (8) of the Constitution says that the report must be returned to Zec within 14 days after it was laid before Parliament. “If, as seems likely, the report is referred back to Zec, the Commission will have to consider the issues raised by Parliament, in addition to any the President himself may raise, but Zec’s decision on them will be final. Then Zec will send its final delimitation report to the President and he will publish it as a proclamation in the Gazette,” Veritas said in its latest Bill Watch. The deadline for publication of the delimitation report is February 26.
By- United Family International Church (UFIC) founder Emmanuel Makandiwa has bragged about his latest high-end luxury 2023 BMW 7-Series, the first in the country.
In a video circulating on social media, Makandiwa said that only the poor would say the car he bought is expensive.
The luxurious sedan — totally redesigned with pioneering technologies, a bolder exterior and comfort-enhancing features — landed in the country on December 24, 2022. Makandiwa’s spokesperson Prime Kufa was not reachable for comment yesterday, but well-placed sources told NewsDay that the vehicle landed in the country for US$300 000. Videos of the maroon BMW coming out of Makandiwa’s luxurious Chishawasha Hills home have also gone viral on social media platforms. The car also has a traffic jam assist function. Apart from leading one of the biggest churches in the country, the charismatic preacher also runs businesses that include mining. An internet search of the vehicle shows that the first variants of the new 7 Series made their way into the market in November 2022 after commencing production at the brand’s Dingolfing plant in Germany in July of the same year. According to vehicle specialists, the completely revamped 7 Series sedan is certainly one of the most distinctive-looking cars to emerge from Bavaria in years. The vehicle has a new 31-inch theatre screen that reaches across most of the width of the car and transforms it into a mobile cinema. The BMW also offers an optional rear-seat entertainment system with a 31,3-inch 8K touchscreen display that drops from the roof that transforms it into a mobile cinema, a 36-speaker Bowers and Wilkins surround-sound system, a 5G cellular data connection and more. The car also has numerous advanced driver assistance systems to keep the driver and other occupants safe. These include a rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, parallel and perpendicular park assist, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane-keep assist. Other features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness monitoring, vehicle exit warning, traffic sign recognition, and active protection.

**Continued Political Violence, Shadow affiliate groups exposes a desperate unelectable Political party, as harmonised elections draw closer.
In the past months there has been a rampant brutalization of citizens by any pf thugs as well as some partial authorities.
The victims of political violence, most of them are CCC members, journalists, civic society and church community.
The so called second republic is yet to arrest, book or convict any of the pepetrators, hence one may clearly see that the authorities and courts are captured.
The reluctant eye if not ignorance of dealing with political violence perpetrators actually shows that government and zanu pf have become 1 intricate partners in pursuing a certain agenda which is against the will of the people and the constitution itself. It’s high time citizens converge for a common cause irregardless of diverse political affiliation.
It’s a matter of building a New Great Zimbabwe that is economically strong, democratically peaceful through chosing befitting leadership.
Those that have been given or grabbed a chance and yielded nothing should make it a day and leave office for new ideas, new blood and entrusted ones.
Conductors of the failed Coaches should abandon or removed from the political room of governance because they won’t prove any good if they failed before “during Mugabe era & ED era”.
A wave of change should prevail over the so called 4 ED propagandist term. Fear won’t bring food or enough salaries to your tables “Civic Servants”.
Vigilance ,endurance and action is the only way out. Hold the bull by its horns , twist and turn , fall and rise one day you will be celebrating a more than $540us salary “Teachers”.
Shadow groups that which you join inorder to attract favour at lower level be it from your councillor or Headmaster are not worthwhile. We need change and not persistence on failed systems. It is better to watch from the terraces than cheer in favour Herods or Pharaohs of our time. It’s high time we support the Solomons with wisdom and the annoited David’s to take us through to a Great New Zimbabwe.
We might not like some the styles from these people for various reasons but there comes a time where should go for the better. 2023 elections are a do or die for Zimbabweans. Imagine going for 5 more years with the current level of corruption, unemployment, political violence surely we will be doomed.
The religious community has been hickjacked and now instead of preaching peace and grace they have been romped in to cheer Worldly bloody political groupings. Selling the gospel for pieces of silver in form of labelled cars 4ED. Religious leaders get back to the bible and show citizens the Godly direction of peace, justice and love ,tolerance. This election period is a test of our patriotism ,courage and desire to build a prosperous Great New Zimbabwe under the steward leadership of Advocate Nelson Chamisa.
Tinashe Sambiri|CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa has dismissed the notion that the citizens’ party does not have structures.
The regime is afraid of losing the coming polls, according to President Chamisa.
“If you think we don’t have structures and are without a plan, just ask Zpf.
Their reaction is evidence of their quacking.just read the lips and moves of our competition. They fully know who we are and our full capabilities! #askthem,” the CCC leader said.
He also denounced the persecution of Hon Amos Chibaya and 24 party members.
“Excellent Citizens Support & solidarity for our Change Champions, Hon Chibaya & 24 others at Court. The Change Champions were arrested at a house in Budiriro on Saturday.
Solidarity wins struggles.Thank you fellow citizens!!!”
On the day Musengeyi lost his son, he heard about the shootings but not once did he imagine that his son was the victim. When the news finally got to him that Munashe had been killed, it was made worse by the knowledge that someone from their village had been responsible.
Eye witnesses said Muvevi arrived at the business centre and called out to Munashe who was sitting with others on the veranda of one of the shops.
After speaking for a few minutes, people were shocked to hear a gunshot and then see Munashe falling. No one knows what was discussed between the two but there were no raised voices or any sign of a fight. They are not even sure if Munashe knew Muvevi.
All they can do is speculate.
Even his father might never know why his son was killed.
“I am in pain right now, especially knowing that a person I once called a classmate could take my child’s life. If I were to meet him today, I don’t think our meeting would end well. It’s unfortunate that a person I grew up with, such a quiet person who never fought with anyone, can think of such a heinous thing,” he said in tears.
But it was not only Musengeyi and his family who lost his loved ones to Muvevi’s actions.
Madzibaba Sirage (Kanerusine) had relatives who knew his killer. His niece, Netsai Tiriboyi was also in the same class with the killer.
She was at the shrine when Muvevi shot her uncle and she only got to know later that the man who had produced a gun at the shrine was once a classmate.
“When he arrived at the shrine, I did not immediately recognise him. After he had shot my uncle, and people started saying his name, that is when it clicked that I knew him. We were in the same class at St Mathias Ruswa and we finished our O-Levels in 1999. He was a cool person and I don’t remember a time he was in trouble. After school we went our separate ways. It is so painful that my father had to die at the hands of someone who was part of our village,” she said.
A young Muvevi had once been a part of the church that he later came back to for a killing.
According to the community, as a child, he would go with his mother to church every week. He had stopped when he reached his teenage years.
Although he was no longer part of the church, Muvevi was still part of the community.
“We hear the man who has done such a heinous thing is a child from this village who went to school here. It pains us that a child from here can go out there and come back to do such a bad thing. We actually expected that our children would come back with good initiatives that help the area to develop, not to bring death and grief to us,” said Mr Stephen Mutombwa, a villager in Ruzane village.
Another villager Mr Fanuel Mapindu said the whole community was still waiting to hear why Muvevi had decided to bring so much pain and heartache in a community where he grew up.
Maybe now that he has been caught, the killer himself will provide answers to what was going on in his mind when he went back to the village of his origin and did the unthinkable.
A Diarrhoea outbreak killed seven people in Harare and one in Matabeleland South and affected 6 859 more.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care said in its weekly disease surveillance on their twitter handle that typhoid has also been confirmed in Harare with 20 certain cases and 82 suspected.
“For the period ending 1 January, 6 839 common diarrhoea cases and eight deaths were reported. Five deaths were reported from Sally Mugabe Hospital while Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, North-western districts in Harare Province and Mangwe district in Matabeleland South Province reported one death each. Of the reported cases 2 782 were under the age of five,’’ read the Ministry statement.
Harare has been the centre of diarrhoeal diseases since late last year with the province recording over 1 100 cases between October and November.
In an interview, Harare director of health Dr Prosper Chonzi said diarrhoea cases in Harare are on the increase since the beginning of the year and there have been 20 cases of typhoid recorded and 82 suspected cases.
Dr Chonzi said the most affected areas were the southern suburbs such as Hopley and Southlea Park and the most affected people are children from one to four years. Glen Norah had been affected by typhoid but no fatalities have been reported so far.
Dr Chonzi advised people who show symptoms of diarrhoea to seek treatment at any clinic as the treatment for diarrhoea is free regardless of age.
He said the increase in diarrhoea cases is caused by shortage of clean safe water and poor sanitation. Dr Chonzi urged people to be on high alert as cholera is still rampant and ravaging in neighbouring Malawi.
However, the provinces that reported the highest number of diarrhoea cases for the period under review by the Ministry of Health and Child Care are Mashonaland East Province which reported 1 384 cases and Manicaland Province with 1 245 cases. – state media
At a time when over 25 families are following in poverty after losing their loved ones and scores others are disabled without a single penny of compensation, since 1 Aug 2018, Mnangagwa yesterday threw up celebrations for donating a paltry 10 wheelchairs to people living with disabilities in Bulawayo.
The state media, publishing, said through this, the Second Republic is leaving no one and no place behind in its inclusive development agenda, and yet the 10 wheelchairs are glowing handed to Bulawayo the same area where Mnangagwa has maimed thousands since 1983 and killed 30,000 innocent lives.
Mnangagwa launched the country’s national disability policy on June 9, 2021 in Harare with support from various stakeholders including the United Nations. The policy sets standards for the inclusion of PWDs s in all facets of life, thereby serving as an overarching policy framework on disability across all sectors, including the public, private and development sectors.
Mnangagwa’s donation was a follow-up to last year’s Zimbabwe National disability Expo which was held in Marondera. Yesterday, 10 wheelchairs were handed over to the beneficiaries while 10 others are yet to come for distribution. Speaking during the handover ceremony yesterday at the Bulawayo Polytechnic College, Mr Macnon Chirinzepi, who is a director in the Office of the Special Advisor to the President on Disability, said this was an initiative that the Office of the President and Cabinet undertake every year to empower people with disabilities. “We conducted our disability expo last year in Marondera which ran under the theme ‘a participatory and inclusive society which leaves no one behind’ where Mnangagwa donated wheelchairs to PWDs throughout all provinces of the country,” he said.
“In order to promote their inclusivity and mobility, there was a need to recognise what the people are in need of first, and then help provide it. “That is what the Second Republic is striving towards achieving.” Mr Chirinzepi said the initiative is aimed at making sure that those with disabilities, and mobility challenges can move from one point to another. “The issue is meant to make sure that people with disabilities are part and parcel of our society. They should be seen as equals and we should not discriminate against them,” he said. Mr Chirinzepi said the Second Republic is walking the talk when it comes to the inclusiveness of PWDs in society. “We should move with them hence, the Second Republic is walking the talk and let us, therefore, embrace people with disability.
“The Government has made sure that PWDs are recognised and given equal treatment in terms of their qualification and also openings of jobs in the public service sector to promote inclusivity,” he said. Mr Chirinzepi urged other stakeholders in the community to install disability-responsive machinery in public spaces so that PWDs can operate independently as part of the promotion of their independence. A beneficiary, Mrs Karen Lusinga expressed her gratitude to the President for the kind gesture. “We truly appreciate this generous donation to us and it means a lot to us. In most cases, we are overlooked regarding all the challenges that we face on a day-to-day basis, but this donation will go a long way in solving some of our challenges,” she said. “For me, it was quite hard to operate without a wheelchair. I could not go to church or even go outside. Mr Robert Moyo from Mpopoma suburb said, “For a long time, I have been confined to my home due to a lack of a wheelchair. I am now able to get into town or move around the suburb on my own”. – state media
